A Soldier with PTSD Fell Into A Hole and couldn't get out...

A Senior NCO went by and the Soldier with PTSD called out for help. The Senior NCO yelled at, told him to suck it up dig deep & drive on, then threw him a shovel. But the Soldier with PTSD could not suck it up and drive on so he dug the hole deeper.

A Senior Officer went by and the Soldier with PTSD called out for help. The Senior Officer told him to use the tools your Senior NCO has given you then threw him a bucket. But the Soldier with PTSD was using the tools his Senior NCO gave him so he dug the hole deeper and filled the bucket.

A psychiatrist walked by. The Soldier with PTSD said, “Help! I can’t get out!” The psychiatrist gave him some drugs and said, “Take this. It will relieve the pain.” The Soldier with PTSD said thanks, but when the pills ran out, he was still in the hole.

A well-known psychologist rode by and heard the Soldier with PTSD cries for help. He stopped and asked, ” How did you get there? Were you born there? Did your parents put you there? Tell me about yourself, it will alleviate your sense of loneliness.” So the Soldier with PTSD talked with him for an hour, then the psychologist had to leave, but he said he’d be back next week. The Soldier with PTSD thanked him, but he was still in the hole.

A priest came by. The Soldier with PTSD called for help. The priest gave him a Bible and said, “I’ll say a prayer for you.” He got down on his knees and prayed for the Soldier with PTSD, then he left. The Soldier with PTSD was very grateful, he read the Bible, but he was still stuck in the hole.

A recovering Soldier with PTSD happened to be passing by. The Soldier with PTSD cried out, “Hey, help me. I’m stuck in this hole!” Right away the recovering Soldier with PTSD jumped down in the hole with him. The Soldier with PTSD said, “What are you doing? Now we’re both stuck here!!” But the recovering Soldier with PTSD said, “Calm down. It’s okay. I’ve been here before. I know how to get out.

I still cry reading this, after years of needing help while I was in the Army it took a catastrophic break for me to force the hands of those above me to see their “help” was less helpful and more damaging.  I was a good Soldier, I carried my ruck full of all the horrid shit I had ever seen for more than 20 years of service. But at some point the hardest of Soldiers, the best of Soldiers has to take care of themselves to stay in the fight.  Remember you, that person to the left or the right of a Soldier, Marine, Sailor or Airmen in need, just might need you to be the one to jump in that hole and save them.

I'm used to feeling 0, nothing ,but a void, avoid the one's inside my head, that tell me I am dead or less, alive but unattached ,a lonely seat in a movie theater ,the light went out in this horror fick. Scream at the stab wounds, I'm really getting used to this backstabbed and bullet holes, have pushed me into solitude ,  so why do you laugh at me, if you don't know my current war . There's gun shots in depressions ,and invasions in isolation, I called in back up, but the commander isn't calling in, the air strikes of irritation, has many dead ,I call them dreams, I scream out surrender ,white flag ,but I can't retreat, I speak out ,do you hear me ,I saw a war scenes in my head I know it's not there anymore. Somehow it got out, I run away but it runs faster I'm out gunned unarmed, no chance so I call on God ,I'm weak I'm broken but I'm never alone, the bomb dropped on the darkness, it's time for me to go home

I don't know about you guys, but I for one am tired of loosing brothers and sisters to suicide, I've personally lost literally 1 or more a year since 2015. Getting to a point where its not what happened but who this time....This hits so close to home for me because I've almost been the statistic. And anybody who knows me knows I mean it when I say REACH OUT TO ME, I've been there I don't need to understand all the details to listen, I don't care if its been years or a day since we last spoke, or if we've never spoke at all it doesn't matter, ;IGY6 regardless. My heart goes out to the families, and for the ones that are gone. Til Valhalla
