ISYARAT TAHUN BARU

Keriuhan tadi malam. Beserta kerlap kerlipnya. Jika saya baca secara psikologis, hanyalah kumpulan paradoks demi paradoks. Aktivitas tahunan yang membosankan. Sekaligus pelipur lara bagi jiwa-jiwa yang takut pada ketidakpastian. Merayakan, secara bersamaan, mengkhawatirkan masa depan.

Barangkali kita telah bosan dengan format acara yang begitu-begitu saja, tetapi toh faktanya, kita tetap turut merayakannya. Maka mengajukan pertanyaan-pertanyaan sederhana terhadap berbagai aktivitas yang mengalami kekeringan makna ini, bagi saya, kini menjadi penting.

Maka, apa yang sebetulnya kita rayakan pada tahun baru? Jika yang kita rayakan adalah momen perpindahan waktunya, maka sesungguhnya tak ada yang benar-benar baru. Sebab tahun baru hanya akumulasi waktu dari detik ke menit, menit ke jam, jam ke hari dan begitu seterusnya.

Jika yang kita rayakan adalah proses penghayatan atas perpindahan waktunya, maka sekali lagi kita hanya terjebak pada satuan waktu. Sebab memaknai perpindahan waktu tidak perlu menunggu akhir tahun.

Belum lagi jika kita melontarkan pertanyaan-pertanyaan anak kecil semisal, apa relasi objektifnya antara meniup terompet, bakar petasan, bakar jagung, minum miras, dengan malam pergantian tahun baru? Apa hubungannya tahun baru dengan mengadakan pesta seks dan minuman akohol?

Merayakan waktu. Namun, secara bersamaan, kita sering lupa menghadirkan kesadaran terhadap waktu. Bagi saya, tahun baru hanya pengingat kita untuk menghadirkan waktu sebagai kesadaran otentik. Setiap detik, menit, dan jam yang kita lalui adalah begitu berharga. Maka itulah waktu otentik, dimana kesadaran kita hadir untuk memaknai setiap waktu yang tersisa.

Mengapa ini menjadi penting? Sebab kemampuan untuk melibatkan kesadaran dalam setiap waktu ini yang kerap hilang dari diri kita. Ketika kita berkumpul dan bercengkerama dengan kolega misalnya, betapa banyak dari kita yang betul-betul menghadirkan kesadaran kita pada saat itu? Faktual hanya fisik kita yang hadir, sementara kesadaran kita berkeliaran dalam dunia maya.

Belum lagi betapa sering, waktu menjadi kambing hitam atas kegagalan-kegagalan diri kita? Atas penundaan-penundaan kita?

Maka, benarlah ketika Allah mengingatkan kita dengan: "Demi waktu, sesungguhnya manusia itu benar-benar dalam keadaan merugi, kecuali orang-orang yang beriman, beramal shalih, saling menasehati dalam kebenaran, dan saling menasehati dalam kesabaran."

Sahabat... mari jadikan tahun baru ini sebagai refleksi. Pengingat. Dan penghadir kesadaran kita terhadap waktu. Agar hadir pada diri kita, jiwa-jiwa yang baru pula. Dengan harapan, dan ikhtiar perubahan.

2023 Year In Review

2023 was a great year for Tamagotchi, which included the first ever simultaneous global release of the new Tamagotchi Uni! We’ve seen a record number of Tamagotchi products, collaborations, events, and so much more. Let’s take a look back and see what made 2023 so special!

We will NEVER forget seeing this video for the first time, and the excitement it brought to us. We can still feel it EVERY time we watch this video. Bandai officially teases the next Tamagotchi, and by the looks of it from the high quality teaser video, it’s about to be a global release. If we only knew then what we knew now. What an INCREDIBLE time in Tamagotchi history. Marketing efforts 10/10. We buckled up for a very fun, and busy Tamagotchi summer.

Bandai Japan Announces FRGMT Edition Tamagotchi Original

Another collaboration with a streetwear brand, this time it’s FRGMT! This shell is unique in all-black, white accents, and the FRGMT logo at the top. P1 programming, available in limited quantities only via a lottery! Winners received their delivers in September 2023.

Bandai Gashapon Reveals Tamagotchi Plus Series Charms

Starting off June right! Bandai announces Tamagotchi Plus Series Charms, which would soon prove to be a fan favorite, and give us all more hope for a Tamagotchi Connection re-release soon. These were released the third week of June 2023 in Japan nationwide. They would later be released outside of Japan, including the United States.

Bandai Globally Announces Tamagotchi Uni!

The moment we were all awaiting for. Around 3:00AM EST Bandai globally announced the Tamagotchi Uni, the next generation Tamagotchi featuring wi-fi connectivity, the Tamaverse, and much more with a global release too. This was an ICONIC moment for the Tamagotchi community to witness, and we will never forget the initial excitement for the announcement, we even stayed up late watching the website go down for maintenance, and then woke up super early to write about the announcement.

We were invited to the Tamagotchi Uni launch party in New York City to preview the new Tamagotchi Uni, and meet the newest member of the Tama Family, Charli D’Amelio! The party did NOT disappoint, every detail was perfect, the food and drinks were delicious, and the event was packed with influencers, the media, and some very important people, including Tara Badie, Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America, Senior Director Brand Strategy.

Bandai Japan Schedules My M!X Land Shutdown

With good comes some bad. Bandai Japan announces the official shutdown of the official website that interacts with the Tamagotchi M!X released back in 2016. My M!X Land is set to be shutdown on March 29th, 2024.

2023 was an AMAZING year Tamagotchi. The biggest highlight was the announcement and simultaneous global release of the Tamagotchi Uni. Personally our favorite memory was attending the Tamagotchi Uni launch party in New York City this summer.

We couldn’t imagine celebrating Tamagotchi without our amazing fans. We are looking forward to an even better 2024, so stay tuned to Tama-Palace for the latest and greatest Tamagotchi news. Happy New Year!
