Wheel of the year for beginners <3

The Wheel of the Year is a term used to describe the cycle of the seasons and the holidays that are associated with them in many Pagan and Wiccan traditions. The Wheel of the Year consists of eight major holidays, known as sabbats, which mark the turning points in the solar cycle. These sabbats are:

Yule (Winter Solstice): Celebrated on or around December 21, this holiday marks the longest night of the year and the return of the sun. It is a time of renewal and hope.

Imbolc (Candlemas): Celebrated on or around February 2, this holiday marks the beginning of spring and is associated with the goddess Brigid. It is a time of purification and renewal.

Ostara (Spring Equinox): Celebrated on or around March 21, this holiday marks the beginning of spring and the balance of light and darkness. It is a time of new beginnings and growth.

Beltane (May Day): Celebrated on or around May 1, this holiday marks the beginning of summer and is associated with fertility and growth. It is a time of celebration and joy.

Litha (Summer Solstice): Celebrated on or around June 21, this holiday marks the longest day of the year and the height of summer. It is a time of abundance and joy.

Lughnasadh (Lammas): Celebrated on or around August 1, this holiday marks the beginning of the harvest season and is associated with the god Lugh. It is a time of thanksgiving and abundance.

Mabon (Autumn Equinox): Celebrated on or around September 21, this holiday marks the beginning of autumn and the balance of light and darkness. It is a time of gratitude and reflection.

Samhain (Halloween): Celebrated on or around October 31, this holiday marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It is a time to honor the ancestors and to reflect on the past.

The Wheel of the Year is a way for Pagans and Wiccans to connect with the natural world and to celebrate the changing seasons and is a time to reflect on the cycles of life.

a/n: tHE WAY THIS JUST FELL OUT OF ME?!?!? like WOW, okay, guess i just needed to write xiao fluff to feel better. anyway, hope you all enjoy this have a great day💖

It was the first snow of Liyue’s winter. The window near your bed gave you an excellent view of the landscape near Wangshu Inn. The water had frozen over, and you smiled at the amount of people who already had set up on the ice. Some of them were families who played around on the ice. Others were fisher folk who chatted amongst themselves near holes in the lake, keeping an eye on their pole’s line for any sign of sudden tension.

And Xiao, the mighty Yaksha who sought out all evil within Liyue, laid comfortably in your shared bed, lightly snoring.

He was clutching onto you for dear life even while asleep. Xiao’s head rested on your collarbone, with part of his body on top of yours as well. Because of this position, you kept inhaling the smell of Xiao’s hair— which smelled like your shampoo, oddly enough. I’ll talk to him about it later, you reminded yourself as you instead used your fingers as a fine-toothed comb, gently brushing through his dark hair.

You really enjoyed these moments. Xiao looked gentle, and finally at peace. A pleasant smile rested on his thin lips, and his expression was calm too. And a smile always graced your features when you rubbed Xiao’s back because he burrowed himself further into your personal space, which earned a gentle chuckle from you. 

“So adorable,” you gently murmured. Then, you lowered your chin and pressed a kiss to his temple— right where his diamond-shaped mark was.

Xiao furrowed his brow, and you instantly knew you were busted. “‘Adorable’? I don't think that's a very fitting compliment for a Yaksha…”

You chuckled. “Maybe. But it’s certainly a fitting compliment for my Yaksha.”

“Stop,” he groaned, his cheeks now reddening. “It’s too early for this.”

“Hm, agreed. Five more minutes in bed before we start the day?”

“Glady,” murmured Xiao, his lips ghosting over your collarbone as he spoke. “Now, flip over. I want to hold you for a bit.”

“Stop eating the batter, seriously!” You scolded your boyfriend yet again, noting how his index finger sneaked into the mixing bowl once more.

“Can’t help it when you make it so delicious,” Mikey pouted, sounding as apologetic as he could while popping his finger in his mouth to lick it clean. You shot him a deadpan look as you moved the bowl to your other side and out of his reach.

“I finally understand why my mom wasn’t so keen on my help back then,” you sighed while continuing to form small cookie dough balls to place on the baking tray. “Don’t complain when you end up with stomach aches later on though.”

“As if some flour and eggs could beat me,” Mikey scoffed. 

Moving from his place leaning on the counter next to you, he came up behind you and wrapped his hands around your waist, effectively flopping all his weight onto you. Propping his head on your shoulder, your boyfriend lazily watched as you worked the spoons between your fingers as his own fiddled with the fabric of your shirt. You worked in silence for a while, the only noise to be heard was Mikey’s occasional sigh as he nuzzled his nose deeper into the crook of your neck, pressing an array of butterfly kisses onto your shoulder where he nudged the neckline of your top out of the way.

After scraping the last bit of batter from the bowl, the spoons clinked against its bottom as you exhaled and leaned back into Mikey’s strong chest. One hand reached over your shoulder to card through his blond strands as your eyes fluttered closed. The only thing left to do now was putting the tray into the oven–

With the precision and speed of a cat doing something they absolutely knew they shouldn’t, Mikey’s hand shot to the tray, snatched one soon-to-be cookie off of it and stuffed it in his mouth before you could so much as blink. Turning around to your currently hamster-cheeked boyfriend, you stared at each other for a few seconds before your jaw dropped open.

“Are you fucking kidding me?!”

[Yes, Mikey did end up with stomach aches. And yes, he was a big baby about it.]
