Seven Cars Winning the Best Award for Exceptional Interior Design by Ward
Ward auto has bestowed the best interior awards for the eight best cars. The eight best internal awards are more like an opinion and fact in the auto world. The awards are for stretching new designs that would have been reserved for non-production concept cars a years ago, says Ward's managing editor Tom Murphy.
The 2018 models include value, creativity, comfort, fit, finish, ergonomics, design harmony, materials and technology in the 40 new interiors evaluated this year.
2018 Hyundai Kona Interior
Tumblr media
At 164 inches long, the Kona is 8 inches shorter than Ford Focus hatchback. It plays a price sensitive role in the market where competitors like the Honda HR-V and Toyota C-HR have minimal interiors. Hyundai has dressed the Kona with a splash of color.
Hyundai applied lime green around the vents and other places in a way that spices up a bare-bones interior.
2018 Chevrolet Equinox Interior
Tumblr media
Equinox is undoubtedly Chevy's top sellers. Designers have played with the interiors this time. They had some fun this time with the designs by giving swooping lines on the door trim and oblong air condition vents. The infotainment system is faster and easy to use. The equinox is a competition to vehicles like Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, which has become America's top-selling segment.
2018 Kia Stinger Interior
Tumblr media
Kia played big when it developed the Stinger, a luxury car that will offer an exceptional carrying capacity and a hatchback room. With useful interiors, plenty room, appealing materials and easy to use controls.
This will get consumers back into the big car business.
2018 Infinity QX50 Interior
Tumblr media
Infiniti's latest compact luxury SUV grabbed all the attention. You open the door and you will see a cream, brown and blue Ultrasuede open-pore maple wood trim that has a beautiful metallic and subtle look.
Automakers could not tone down its design, so they gave it bold and beautiful look.
2018 Ram 1500 Interior
Tumblr media
There was a time when pickups were trucks with vinyl seats with minimal comfort. The all-new Ram is designed with navy leather and cream contrast stitching. The underfloor storage is an innovative idea. The storage is built in such a way that fishers can stash all the catches and take home. The blue wood trim is so beautifully built that it looks like denim.
2018 Lexus LS 500 Interior
Tumblr media
Lexus is a significant new flagship in the sedan loaded with fancy interiors. The ornate interiors like hand-folded pleats and cut-glass in the door trim. This time it has made very bold color choices quite the opposite from the sober German hues. The color scheme makes it even more spectacular.
2018 Porsche Panamera s e-hybrid plug-in Interior
Tumblr media
There highly priced Panamera to its 680-hp drivetrain got some kudos interiors with the all-new infotainment system. You may end up skipping the spa with the best massaging seat in the world. The new Porsche has eliminated buttons with a clean new design. You will feel so good looking at the interiors, as the hideous buttons are gone.
Porsche has successfully integrated the latest features with a focus on the legendary driving experience.

2020 Genesis G90 First Test: Fast Followup
Since its debut last fall at the Los Angeles Auto Show—remember those?—we’ve extensively chronicled the remarkably comprehensive “mid-cycle refresh” of “Korea’s S-Class”—the 2020 Genesis G90. We’ve even given it a First Drive. Now, we’ve spent a week in the car, we’ve studied the impressive 100-page product briefing document, and we even got an opportunity to slap our test gear on it and take the full measure of its “refreshness.”
We’ve spilled most of our ink covering the somewhat controversial but undoubtedly striking “all new, but for the doors” sheetmetal and the thoroughly revamped, leather-wrapped, wood-lined, and diamond-stitched interior, and now it’s time to assess how well the primarily carryover powertrain hauls all this refreshed luxury.
How fast is the 2020 Genesis G90 3.3T from 0-60 MPH?
Our rear-drive 3.3-liter twin-turbo G90 proved quicker than all four of the G90 3.3Ts we’ve tested to date, hitting 60 mph in 5.1 seconds (0.1-0.3 second quicker) and crossing the quarter-mile in 13.7 sec at 102.8 mph (0.1–0.2 second quicker and 1.7–2.9 mph faster).
Sure, all four 2017 and 2018 G90 3.3Ts we’ve run were equipped with the 150-pound H-TRAC all-wheel-drive system, but at least one of them weighed slightly less than this 2020 rear-driver. Those acceleration numbers are within a tenth or two of our rear-drive 2017 G90 5.0 tester, suggesting that the bigger engine is primarily required to tug around the 140 extra pounds of engine and “Ultimate” rear-seat fanciness. It’s also worth noting that the 3.3T’s EPA highway rating indexes up one for 2020 (from 24 to 25 mpg) on both rear- and all-wheel-drive models.
How well does the G90 stop?
The brakes also got a refresh, though a quick glance at the specs suggests otherwise. The outside diameters of the rotors are identical, but for 2020, the iron friction rings are mounted to aluminum centers (which were formerly steel) to reduce mass, providing two bonus benefits: lowering the unsprung mass improves ride and reducing rotational mass improves acceleration and braking. The 2020 model did manage to stop from 60 mph in 117 feet. That’s 1–5 feet shorter than every previous G90, and note that every G90 we’ve ever tested has ridden on the same staggered 19-inch Continental ContiProContact tires, so traction is perfectly comparable. Other handling performance measurements fell within the range of statistical variation.
How does the G90’s performance compare?
So how does the performance of this refreshed G90 stack up with that of other luxury sedans? It runs well ahead of the Audi A8 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 (5.3/13.9 sec) and neck-and-neck with the 3.4-liter twin-turbo V-6 Lexus LS 500 F Sport AWD (5.2/13.6 sec).
It’s slightly behind the last 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbo Mercedes S-Class we tested (5.0/13.6 sec), and the BMW 745e smokes it (4.8/13.3 sec). But really, who cares? Unless you’re a tin-pot dictator or crime boss who may occasionally need to evade some baddies, cars like this are about effortless, quiet acceleration—not tenths and pink-slips. The new G90 delivers this in spades.
Ride quality was always a G90 strength, and this “refreshed” version marks a baby-step forward here as well, thanks to more precise internal solenoid valves and new internal rebound springs on the ZF Sachs adaptive dampers, and new rear suspension crossmember bushings that better isolate rear-seat occupants from vibration.
All the G90 qualities that helped it win a 2017 comparison test against the BMW 740e, Lexus LS 500, and Lincoln Continental 3.0 are still here, while the things we didn’t particularly love (“we wish it made more of a visual statement,” and its cabin that “takes no risks”) have largely been rectified with diamond-sparkle “G-Matrix” design flourishes throughout, a new leather-wrapped dash with contrast piping and stitching, and many linear feet of open-pore matte wood paneling.
Loads of additional content has also been added, including a passenger knee airbag and new driver assistance features like safe-exit assist (warns if you’re about to open a door into traffic), rear cross-traffic collision assist, parking collision-avoidance assist, lane-change forward-collision avoidance, blind-spot view monitor (projecting a camera view in the instrument cluster), and Highway Driving Assist. The latter adds lane centering and automatic speed-limit following, though it only works on freeways (unlike Mercedes’ similar system) and doesn’t let you program a 5-mph offset above the posted limit like Ford/Lincoln systems do. Highway Auto Curve Zone Slowdown is meant to reduce speed automatically on curves with a 1,500-foot radius or tighter, and Intelligent Coasting is designed to disegage the transmission and allow the vehicle to coast for up to three-quarters of a mile to save fuel.
I’m loathe to grant full credit to those last two features, however, because in roughly 200 miles of freeway driving that included curves too sharp for the lane-centering system to maintain its position at an 80-mph cruise set speed, the car never slowed a bit (and yes, the feature box was checked on the infotainment screen). I also never witnessed the tachometer dropping to idle to suggest intelligent coasting. An area where Mercedes-Benz remains ahead of Genesis is in capacitive sensing of hands on the wheel. Without this, the Genesis frequently hectored me to grab a wheel I’d never let go of, forcing me to jiggle the rim every few miles.
What does the Genesis G90 3.3T cost, and is it worth the money?
Despite these minor niggles, the G90 boasts class-leading front seat space, S-Class-trumping rear passenger space, and solid mid-pack trunk space of 15.7 cubic feet, proving it has what it takes to rival the establishment luxo-barge competitors. Another luxury feature: all-inclusive pricing with no nickel-and-dime optioning.
The G90 starts at $73,195 for the V-6 rear-drive car you see here. Add $2,500 for all-wheel-drive and/or $3,500 for the V-8 and ultimate rear-seat gear (12- and 14-way left and right rear seat adjustment with ventilation, memory, and rear-seat entertainment). The only other (no-cost) options are light- or dark-finish wheels and a choice of eight exterior and five interior color schemes. That’s it. Want to make sure you don’t see yourself coming and going? Order the 5.0 AWD in Adriatic Blue over an indigo interior with dark brown accents and gray ash wood. Genesis only expects to build one percent of G90s with that combo; now that’s a “one percent” that sensible buyers could be proud to claim membership in.

New Lexus LS 500h early drive review
Image 1 of 13 Image 1 of 13 26 Oct, 2017 1:45pm John McIlroy We go for a short early drive in the new luxury Lexus LS 500h saloon. Is it a worthy rival for the Mercedes S-Class and Audi A8? Lexus is preparing an all-new flagship limousine to take on the likes of the Audi A8 and Mercedes S-Class - and now Auto Express has had a brief run around the roads of Yokohama, Japan, to gauge how the latest LS is shaping up.  It’s a bigger car than before. Lexus used to offer the model globally with a choice of regular and long wheelbases, but now there’s just a single version – and the gap between its front and rear axles is 35mm longer than the old extended-wheelbase variant. • Best luxury cars on sale There are a couple of new powertrain options too, although British buyers will only be offered one of them: the LS 500h hybrid. This mixes a 295bhp 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with a pair of electric motors, giving a combined output of 354bhp. That’s enough for a claimed 0-62mph time of 5.4 seconds, even with a ludicrously complex four-step automatic transmission that mimics a ‘conventional’ 10-speed unit.  Image 3 of 13 Image 3 of 13 The LS 500h marks a significant step in Toyota’s hybrid development, because it switches the battery unit from nickel-metal hybride to lighter lithium-ion. The unit is 20 per cent smaller physically than the old spec, which, in turn helps the new LS hybrid gain 25 litres of boot space over the outgoing model. But it has a higher power density, and Lexus claims the car can reach up to 87mph on electric power alone. There’s also an LS 500, powered by a twin-turbocharged version of the same engine but with no electrical assistance. It’s actually slightly faster - a result, no doubt, of losing the weight of the batteries and the additional electric motors. But it’s likely to be targeted at markets like Russia and the US, with no plans for the car to be sold in the UK.  Our short drive on two-lane urban roads offered little chance to take the LS 500h much beyond 50mph. But it does feel pretty accomplished at these lower speeds, with the standard air suspension doing a fair job of soothing out bridge expansion joints and ridges in the road. Sharper imperfections are more of a challenge for the setup, though, so more pointed speed bumps will still be a pain. An S-Class is more comfortable, in other words. Image 4 of 13 Image 4 of 13 The steering is surprisingly heavy, and the car feels pretty bulky with it. We can’t say for certain based on this test, but our gut feeling is that it will major on long-distance motorway cruising ability instead of any deftness or handling agility. The refinement as you pull away from rest is unnerving at first, with only a distant electric motor whine. Thereafter, a smooth approach will be rewarded, allowing the electric motor a better chance of acting alone, while also keeping revs to a sensible level if the system does decide that it needs the V6’s help. At a cruise, you won’t hear much from under the bonnet at all - although this also down to a fair amount of roar from the (minimum) 19-inch wheels and tyres. • Best hybrid cars currently available  We also had a chance to try out some of the LS’s new safety tricks, including its ability to keep the car in its lane while you issue a featherlight touch on the steering wheel. The big Lexus can switch between lanes if you hold the indicator in its ‘halfway down’ position, too. The lane keep assist is a little ponderous but works well, although the handover back to human control when the system doesn’t feel confident enough in the road markings takes a bit of getting used to. Image 6 of 13 Image 6 of 13 The cabin is a mixed bag. Lexus has crammed in plenty of Japanese craftwork, such as wood trim and pleated door trims, but while these elements look spectacular in their own right, the sheer number of them helps to create an interior with none of the coherence found in German rivals. You’ll see a dozen typefaces and clashing mixtures of textures, leaving you wondering whether the whole thing was conceived by several disconnected small teams, instead of a single well-run one. Perhaps more surprisingly, the quality doesn’t seem to be entirely consistent either. We were able to find the odd rough edge inside our (admittedly early) production car, and the shiny black plastic coathooks are some of the nastiest we’ve seen this side of a cheap supermini, too.  There’s no denying that the LS piles on the infotainment, with a Mark Levinson sound system that includes speakers in the headlining, a 12.3-inch infotainment system in the centre of the dashboard and even a 24-inch colour head-up display - the largest device of its type in the world.  We’re still waiting for UK specs, though, so for now we’re not even sure if the HUD will be standard-fit or a pricey cost option. And while the central screen itself is impressive, there’s still no sign of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay - a glaring omission in this connected age. This was a short drive, at limited speeds. But even with this in mind, the LS still doesn’t feel quite well rounded enough to deliver a proper blow to its German rivals. The petrol-electric powertrain may appeal to big-city limo drivers in an uncertain era for diesel - but we’re already struggling to see how the rest of the package is really going to tear many prospective customers away from their Audi A8 or Mercedes S-Class brochures. Model: Lexus LS 500h Price: £100,000 (est) Engine: 3.5-litre V6 petrol, two electric motors Transmission: Four-speed automatic, four-wheel drive Power: 354bhp (total output) 0-62mph: 5.4 seconds Top speed : TBC Economy/CO2: TBC/TBC On sale: January 2018

2018 Lexus LS 500 Specs, Price, and Concept
2018 Lexus LS 500 Specs, Price, and Concept – Everyone’s possibly learned about the new 2018 Lexus LS 500. Nonetheless, they have surely skipped a single essential factor. 2018 Lexus LS 500 Hybrid Review
New Post has been published on http://toyotacamryusa.com/2017/04/2018-lexus-ls-500-hybrid-review/
2018 Lexus LS 500 Hybrid Review
2018 Lexus LS 500 Hybrid Review
2018 Lexus LS 500 Hybrid Review – It’s feasible that Lexus will never ever have the ability to make as large a dash as it did when the initial 2018 Lexus LS 500 made its debut at the 1989 Detroit auto program. Sure, the new LC coupe is ridiculously trendy, and also the RX crossover sells in large numbers, however no other vehicle in Lexus’s background has been as much a signal of intent as that original LS was. That’s the true power of a front runner, and also Lexus is aiming to recapture a few of that exact same fascinating aura with the all-new 2018 Lexus LS 500 sedan, debuting nearly three years later.
2018 Lexus LS 500 Hybrid Review
Along with the garden-variety 2018 Lexus LS 500, as well as much more prudent LS 500h, Lexus will certainly supply an F Sporting activity version of both. The F Sporting activity will make its complete debut at the New York auto show. However in the meanwhile, Lexus released a teaser picture that discloses a fair bit, and very little, all at the same time. Japan is an unique location. Where the Japanese see a fascinating bowl of raw sea urchin and also salmon roe, most Westerners see a slimy stack of insect and also digestive tracts. And for the really expensive meals, you remove your footwears and sit on the flooring.
2018 Lexus LS 500 Hybrid Reviews
You see, we get a truly clear sight of the tail end of the automobile, yet there typically aren’t any visual changes other than the 2018 Lexus LS Sporting activity badge. Because the typical LS 500h does not have exhaust electrical outlets in the rear bumper, we think this teaser photo is of the traditional gas-powered LS. When contrasting images of the two, they share the same taillights, exhaust finishers, diffusers, and also chrome trim. There isn’t really also a looter on the trunk to set apart the auto. There’s the opportunity a few of the chrome currently has a satin finish, yet it’s tough to say for sure from the photo.

Meanwhile, Active Sound Control maintains the cabin as serene as possible regardless of the all-new 409hp twin turbo v6’s capacity to release the rear-wheel-drive LS from 0-62mph in 4.5 secs. Inside the auto, F Sport front seats use more assistance for spirited driving. The driver regulates the auto with an F Sporting activity steering wheel, light weight aluminum pedals, as well as a perforated shift bar. Details like the Ultrasuede in the seats as well as headliner as well as brushed aluminum trim add to the inside’s stylish improvement. We assume that any kind of appearance modifications have been limited to the nose, sides, and also wheels, since there just isn’t really anything brand-new at the back. 2018 Lexus LS500 Review, Redesign And Price

2018 Lexus LS500 Review, Redesign And Price
2018 Lexus LS500 Review, Redesign And Price –  It’s clear, then, that Toyota strove for an understanding of the initially-age group LS400, which unveiled the Lexus brand name to the entire world in 1989. It was actually, regarding one company agent, an attempt to “out-German the Germans.” In quest of this objective, Lexus went up to now as to mirror the processes and chemical substances used to deal with leather material in European tanneries to make sure that its interior smelled “right.” Nevertheless, 28 many years in the future, Lexus is now intent on distinguishing Japanese Deluxe from its Western kinds, and it is wagering the all-new LS can perform it without the need of logging any individual out.
2018 Lexus LS500 Future
The Lexus LS500 will talk about more than its position at the top of the company hierarchy with the LC coupe. Equally, drive on models of the same platform, the LS’s stretched a foot and a fifty percent over the coupes. Like its two-doorway sibling, the LS makes use of aluminum for significantly of the suspensions along with its installation things, as well as the fender beams. The two cars share a multilink top revocation and a several-hyperlink rear assembly, even though Lexus made certain the LS’s dampers and bushings would supply more comfort and ease than the LC’s. As with the sociable Lexus LS500, the new sedan has adaptive stabilizer night clubs, however, provides rear tire steering.
2018 Lexus LS500 Exterior And Interior
From the outside the house, it seems as even though Lexus is convinced Infiniti and Mazda do Japanese design properly. Aside from cheaper Lexus, it is the typed vocabulary of these brands that the LS emulates most, featuring its moving substance shape juxtaposed towards sharp creases. Lexus’s spindle grille once more rivals a largemouth bass sounds for optimum maw-to-experience proportion and, as on the new LC coupe, the rod form repeats on the trunk lid and rear fascia. Also given to the LC is the extraordinary rate of the LS’s windshield. Total, the Lexus LS500 is rather low and streamlined for such a huge car. Lexus stylists wanted amidst ground between the classic sedan silhouette and the flourishing four-entrance-coupe artistic. In the account, the LS is a sedan with a somewhat swoopy D-pillar but considered more from the front side, the car’s tapering haunches imply the trunk lid goes away, and the car takes on a particular hatchback crop, as a Japanese Porsche Panamera. When you consider Japanese luxury, you should think of plump couches. At least, that is the message LS customers will get, simply because the design team’s objective with the car seats was to produce the impact of sinking into a major, comfy couch or effortless seat. They paid close up focus to the relationship involving the cushioned center-unit cover and the doorway-installed armrests, the second option seeming to drift aside from the doorway solar panel with background illumination tucked associated with to advance the illusion. And in case you are sitting down opposite the chauffeur in the proper rear, simple office chair, Lexus boasts very best-in-class legroom with the seat fully reclined, and the top person seat leaned against the dash. Seats aren’t the only place whereby the LS departs off their Lexus patterns. The interior as a complete is milder, more pleasing, and more organic with their kids than other Lexuses. Half a dozen thin rings of magnesium period the dash, starting at the driver’s front door just before bunching up as they flex up and over the tool board, then fanning again out as they proceed they extend all over the dash to the person door. Contrast-stitched hide is de rigueur in a modern luxury car, but the LS is the initially that people can remember to get it close to the gauge confronts.
2018 Lexus LS500 Engine
At its start, the Lexus LS500 will likely be driven by an all-new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6. The 60-level prohibit and heads are aluminum, and a pair of turbos created in property are incorporated into the exhaust manifolds. The engine’s signature, however, is a remarkably very long cerebrovascular accident-100. Millimeters inside an 85.5-millimeter bore-that Lexus claims permits the engine to achieve new ranges of energy productivity. Furthermore, it enables it to produce 414 hp and 443 lb-feet of torque. Backing up the half a dozen is an all-new Aisin 10-pace auto. Like the Ford/GM 10-rate that lately produced its debut in the F-150 and Camaro ZL1, it’s targeted more at packaging CVT-like versatility into a classic automatic than stretching out the general ratio distributed-however, of course, it will obtain the latter as accurately. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the LS when all-time push will probably be an alternative. A hybrid will sign up for the selection shortly. Along with the Germans all preparing V-8s and even V-12s inside their complete-dimension sedans, Lexus would be silly to cap the LS at half a dozen cylinders. We all do not believe that Lexus is risky. No person at Lexus will cop to it, but, finding as Lexus’s current V-8s all particular date reasonably deep into the final ten years, we suspect they are functioning up an another one to consider the smaller sized, better-production Teutons-possibly like the 600-hp V-8 supposedly limited for the LC F.
2018 Lexus LS500 Price And Release Date
Our review of the Lexus LS incorporated a quick push of some previous design mules. Engineers were still finalizing powertrain calibrations, so we cannot discuss the twin-turbo six at this time. However with the non-obligatory air springs, the trip is outstanding, and the rear tire steering aids the LS feel surprisingly nimble without having compromising right-line balance. The directing is satisfyingly big, and the brake pedal was intensifying. The unique LS won the first comparing analyze we threw it into in 1989; we’ll learn in an additional year roughly whether its latest descendant can repeat that accomplishment. Pricing has not been declared, but the automaker has explained that the 2018 Lexus LS 500 may go discounted in the US near the end of 2017.
