Today's Free Comic Book Day Comic> 2000AD Regened: The Best Comic Ever!!
BW's first of this year's Today's Free Comic Book Day Comic deep dives review is the anthology 2000AD Regened: The Best Comic Ever!!
I know this is the family friendly comic but it’s 2000AD. Pretty sure they’re still about to kill me. 2000AD presents The Best Comic Ever!! 2000AD (Free Comic Book Day, 2023) Today’s comic returns for Free Comic Book Day but it’s more an acknowledgement that these are new comics rather than really old comics. So some Ulpianus thoughts as I go through his kit and do some of the math out
-Base statistics wise, he's extremely similar to Hoederer, having slightly more HP in exchange for very slightly less ATK -This of course doesn't matter once he gets stacks of his talent going. At 10 stacks, he'll have the highest HP and ATK of any Crusher in the game (even outpacing Wind Chimes with her Vigor buff) -Regaining 100 HP when hit, and 160 HP when under 50% HP, is actually probably not enough on its own to really keep Ulpianus alive through sustained damage. It is very good against damage over time effects though, with the possible exception of Zaaro's curse which is very funny
-S1 looks pretty okay. It's notable for being a Pull in an entire class who does not have one, and it's a pretty beefy attack scale on an ATK stat that can almost be 2000. I'm not sure this ends up being a viable portion of kit in most situations, especially since his other two skills seem generally better. -S2 looks...interesting. I'm not actually sure this skill is "good", at least in part because of its massive 70 SP cost. This can be reduced significantly (to about 47 SP) through Unchained's PUM-Y module, but 47 seconds is still a long time for what is supposed to be a lane holder. While the skill is up though, it is quite powerful, especially since it increases the healing from his talent to 200/320 per hit, but 3 Block is also really risky on a Crusher. Hoederer's S2 also suffers from this issue. -S3 is just good. A frankly disgustingly high ATK buff on top of a scaling attack buff means that anything he hits in his initial blast is probably capital F Fucked and he'll take advantage of the six second stun to get two more additional hits in, adding in that the range on this skill is long, let's him be proactive in lane holding, and potentially even allows him to hold two lanes at once is bonkers. 17s charge time with PUM-Y btw.
We probably should talk about the hunter buffs btw, because Ulpianus arguably benefits the most out of any Hunter with them.
-Gladiia: On her own, Gladiia provides a 237.02 HP/s Regen buff to Ulpianus thanks to his titanic HP stat, which increases to 279.02 HP/s with his talent stack maxed out. That's just generically hefty as an regen in general, especially since its healing effectiveness cannot be reduced in any way. The 30%...psuedo-Sanctuary (does Sanctuary actually stack with Gladiia's module?) is also rather incredible for him, being a huge HP buff inherently and making his HP gain talent even stronger. -Andreana: 22 ASPD matters the absolute most to Ulpianus thanks to his titanically long attack interval, reducing it from 2.5 seconds to ~2.05 seconds. In addition, Andreana benefits the most from the 600 Max HP Ulpianus can give her thanks to her low base HP. -Skadi: +24% ATK and +20% Max HP on the Abyssal Hunter with the highest ATK and HP of any class in the game. Easy. Honestly maybe we should have seen the Crusher class coming. Worth noting though that the ATK buff is extremely diluted once his skills are up, however. -Specter: 5% extra damage is honestly fairly good for him. On one hand, his ATK stat gets so high it probably isn't super distinguishable from ATK buffs in terms of effect, but during skill, this buff won't get diluted either. -Specter the Unchained: Maybe the biggest partner for Ulpianus outside of Gladiia, because he really wants the extra SP per second she gives, especially for S2.
In total, what does Ulpianus look like with all the Abyssal Hunter buffs?
HP: 10,158 (11,358 with his Talent) ATK: 2,100.56 (2,400.56 with his Talent) HP Regen: 355.53 HP/s (397.53 HP/s with his Talent)
This is just at base too. While the ATK and HP buffs do end up diluted from his own skill buffs, just looking at his stats while his S2 is up:
HP: 14,221.2 (15,421.2 with his Talent) ATK: 4,810.96 (5,110.95 with his Talent) HP Regen: 497.742 HP/s (539.742 HP/s with his Talent)
So...is Ulpianus good? If you're using him in Abyssal Hunters, definitely, and honestly he's disgustingly good looking there. But outside of that remains to be seen. I think his S3 in general is just so strong that there's a very good chance he remains a good, usable operator outside of his niche, just like all the Abyssal Hunters.

Dr. Keith Nemec’s Total Health Institute Complaints and Lawsuits 2024
A comprehensive look at controversy, lawsuits, complaints, and growing negative reviews about Total Health Institute reveals a shocking mistrust of patient experiences and legal challenges.
The Total Health Institute (THI) is located in Wheaton, Illinois, and has always been a beacon of hope for people seeking holistic healing and health.
Dr. Keith Nemec established Total Health Institute in 2000. The institute is known for integrating the latest scientific advances with traditional treatments to promote mind, body, and soul wellness.
But this noble cause has caused an uproar of controversy, with a backdrop of litigation, patient complaints, and divided public opinions. In her latest article, Lauren Casper, a famous author and public reviewer, exposed the Total Health Institute, Dr. Keith, and their misdeeds to patients.
Who is Dr. Keith Nemec?
Dr. Nemec received his Bachelor’s degree in human biology, his doctorate at the National University of Health Sciences (though he practices with his Pastoral Medical License), and a master’s degree in Nutritional medicine at Morsani College of Medicine.
He holds Three Fellowships with the American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine, which include Regenerative Medicine, Stem Cell Therapies, and Integrative Cancer Therapies.
Dr. Nemec is also certified in Peptide Therapy and Fertility. He has published five books: The Perfect Diet, The Environment of Health and Disease, Seven Basic Steps to Total Health, and Total Health = Completeness.
The author has also written numerous health-related articles, such as: “The Single Unifying Cause of All Disease” and “The Answer to Cancer is Found in the Stem Cell”.
Dr. Nemec has hosted the radio program “Your Total Health” on Chicago AM1160 over the past 18 years. She was also regularly a presenter on the talk show “Let’s Talk” in Chicago as a health expert.
Dr. Nemec specializes in neuroimmunology, nutritional medicine, and the biology of stem cells. The main area of focus is how the brain, mind, diet, and lifestyle influence the health of cells, mainly stem cells.
Total Health Institute Complaints
As part of our research into the experience of patients of The Total Health Institute (THI), We spoke to “Alex Johnson” (a pseudonym for privacy reasons). He shared insight about their care, interaction with staff members, and services.
Alex described their excitement when they joined THI. The prospect of an integrated method of healthcare enticed them. However, their experience was soon ruined by their perception of poor conduct from employees. “I was really hoping for a supportive environment, but instead, I encountered staff who were, at times, rude and dismissive,” Alex said, emulating those sentiments in online complaints.
The aspect of finances in the treatment was another area to be argued over by Alex. He was shocked at the cost-intensive nature of treatments and the need to buy supplements from the institute. “It felt like every aspect of my treatment was tied to an additional cost, and the lack of transparency in billing just added to my frustration,” Alex expressed, echoing the concerns about the pricing and billing policies.
As part of our investigation, we talked to another victim, Anthony Bavaro, who provided a shocking account of how his family dealt with THI.
Bavaro was disappointed when he sought alternative treatment at THI to treat his wife’s stage 4 cancer, as well as the lengthy chemotherapy treatment, expecting to receive something other than what was stated by THI. They hoped THI would provide a unique approach to managing the debilitating disease. Instead, they discovered discontent rather than satisfaction. Bavaro reported that, according to their account, Dr. Nemec had given them optimism despite the severity of their illness. Attracted by the assurance of their future, they decided to invest in the institute’s treatment program, which required an upfront payment and registration for several sessions over time.
Anthony Bavaro’swife passed away just a few days after having only attended two sessions.
Deeply horrified, Bavaro found himself disappointed because his attempts to alleviate the financial burden of THI resulting from non-fulfilling therapies with them had fallen in vain. He said they resisted all payments but offered no compensation or closure. This led Bavaro to doubt Dr. Nemec’s motives and suggested that profit over the patient’s care or ethics was placed above all else.
Total Health Institute Lawsuits
The lawsuit against Total Health Institute (THI) brings to light several severe allegations against the facility and its founder, Dr. Keith Nemec. A former patient, identified as Laura McDaniel, has accused the institute of providing ineffective and potentially harmful treatments. McDaniel’s allegations include being misled about the nature of the treatments and being asked to make substantial financial contributions to continue receiving care.
The lawsuit also concerns Dr. Nemec’s qualifications, the accuracy of his representations about his educational background, and the efficacy of the treatments offered at THI. Moreover, regulatory bodies are conducting ongoing investigations into the institute’s practices, explicitly questioning the adequacy of record-keeping and the accuracy of diagnoses made at the facility.
Another perspective on the lawsuit highlights the complexities surrounding the institute’s use of unverified therapies and misleading promises. The case raises significant questions about the institute’s adherence to medical licensing requirements, particularly regarding treatments licensed medical professionals should administer.
This legal battle scrutinizes Dr. Nemec and his treatment methodologies and involves a group of former patients seeking justice for what they perceive as unethical practices. The lawsuit’s outcomes could have broader implications for the alternative healthcare sector, emphasizing the need for transparency and adherence to regulatory standards.
These developments of THI led patients to consider alternative healthcare options, underscoring the importance of thorough research and due diligence when selecting healthcare providers and treatments.
Merged To Revolution New Medicine
In the wake of lawsuits and complaints, Total Health Institute has merged its name with Revolution New Medicine, situated at 23W525 St Charles Rd, Carol Stream, IL 60188. The joint ventures or merging of Total Health Institute appears to be an element of a larger plan to change the focus of their business and perhaps rethink their approach to alternative health and therapies.
Revolution New Medicine promotes holistic healing, providing various treatments, including detoxification, nutrition, and holistic therapies, to address the root cause of health problems. The newly rebranded company, under the direction of Dr. Keith Nemec, places the importance of optimizing the brain as one of the pillars of the treatment approach.
The approach is based on the centrality of the brain in ensuring health throughout the various body systems and demonstrates the interconnectedness of emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
Revolution New Medicine advocates for the treatment of brain disorders, blockages, or inflammation as the key to resolving the wide range of health problems, ranging from mental and emotional health issues to physical ailments.
The pivotal move towards Revolution New Medicine seems to be an effort to overcome the uncertainties and legal issues facing Total Health Institute and strengthen its dedication to offering alternative health solutions.
Focusing on optimizing brain function and taking a comprehensive approach to health reflects the ongoing commitment to treating the root causes of illness instead of just treating the symptoms.
Conclusion
This transformation can be seen as an attempt to distance itself from a troubled past, while skeptics might interpret it as an effort to salvage its reputation amidst growing mistrust.
This shift emphasizes addressing the fundamental causes of health issues and optimizing patient care, though it remains to be seen whether it can rebuild the tarnished trust.

This is my attempt, after ZTL's video on the subject, to theorize what Yamato Takeru could look like if they were added to FGO, mostly on the gameplay side of things. I tried to focus the profile on making them a strong SSR Saber, the kind that could easily be released as an Anniversary or event Servant, while still making them unique enough to not overshadow or be overshadowed by their competitors (mainly Dioscuri and Muramasa).
I mostly based their kit on the connection, meta-wise and in lore, between Yamato Takeru and King Arthur: between their first scene meeting Iori mirroring Saber meeting Shirou, them being a Saberface hiding their sword in an elemental sheath, and Yamato Takeru's legend being described as the Japanese equivalent of King Arthur, the similarities are many and intentional. So, I took inspiration from what the FGO devs did with Merlin and Lady Avalon, and went on their kit with the concept of "what if OG Saber was a modern Servant, and also Arts?": this is shown by their first two skills mimicking OG Saber's Charisma and Mana Burst.
As for the third skill, in FSR Divine Water is the name of the water sheath they use to conceal their sword: in this FGO version, it's reworked into a skill that enhances their defense (plus a battery, because all modern Servants have one). Part of the reason for the defensive focus is, looking at gameplay videos of Takeru acting as support in battle, I noticed that, whenever they're being attacked, they seem to have a water shield protecting them: so, I reworked it as a function of the sheath and used it as the focus of the skill. The other reason for it is that I wanted Takeru to have their own niche in FGO: between the defensive buffs on their third skill and their regen buffs on the second, I designed them as a tankier Servant suited for hard and prolonged battles, unlike someone like Muramasa who'd be more suited for heavy burst damage.
Finally, for their Noble Phantasm, I was unsure whether to use the same one they use in game (reasoning, FGO would probably use the most recognizable one), or to use the true version used in the final cutscenes. Problem is, looking at the lore, Raging Storm is explicitly stated to be weaker if used against more enemies, meaning it'd be more fitting as a ST NP; at the same time, though, FGO is heavily biased when it comes to AOE NPs, so that would be the most likely type. In the end, I decided to have my cake and eat it too, and pulled a Melusiné giving them both NPs and the ability to switch between them through the use of the Divine Water skill: lorewise, you can think of it as Takeru choosing how much power to release, with it influencing the final attack (I haven't put much thought into their Ascension designs, but you can imagine that their sword is fully unsealed only in its third Ascension, while in the others they'd have to actively unseal it via skill). In terms of effects, I took inspiration from both OG Saber (for reasons above) and Ibuki (since they both use Kusanagi), giving the true version additional ramping damage and the sealed version additional NP regen: as for the damage niches, the Earth attribute references its use to defeat Assassin's monster, while the anti-Evil damage references the use of its true form against the final bosses.

Hypothetical Rank Ups No. 27&28: Spartacus
Honor of Suffering B+ -> Honor of Rebellion EX
Recovers own HP every turn (5 turns).^ + When attacked, increase own ATK (5 turns) and increase own NP Gauge by 10% (5 turns). [CDR: 9/8/7 -> 8/7/6]
Crying Warmonger A+ -> A++
Deal heavy damage to all enemies that ignores DEF Up. + Apply Ignore DEF to self (3 turns). <Overcharge> Greatly restore your HP. + Deals extra damage when your HP is low. Extra damage formula = [multiplier based on Overcharge] x [1 - (Current HP/Max HP+2000)]
Kicking off some Apoc gang rankups, I’ve got a question. Do you know what oppression is? It’s making a 1 star berserker with universal weakness and among the lowest hp possible focused on HP regen, in a game whose design naturally oppresses soft survival. You know what TRUE Oppression is? Making a Berserker, a class dedicated to offense, have THE LOWEST ATTACK IN THE GAME. So let’s fix both of those by making Spartacus’s Defense Ignore more meaningful and improving his skill so bad they already felt a need to rank it up before even giving him his third skill.
So yeah, no longer suffering in silence, now actively rebelling against his attackers, on hit Spartacus gains a flat 10% NP (Subject to change) as his Noble Phantasm builds up, and gains a scaling attack buff that lasts an independent 5 turns, meaning they can stack to quite a large degree. Putting this alongside the cooldown reduction to only as little as only 1 turn of downtime and the healing itself being increased by another 300HP to a maximum of 1800 per turn at level 10, this could ideally even overcome his inherently terrible stats if the team is specifically built around Spartacus.
As for his NP, the Ignore defense is now no longer strictly the NP itself. This not only makes his typical challenge quest niche of ignore defense berserker more viable, it mitigates his bad stats that much more because I really truly cannot overstate how godawful his attack is and he deserves for this if not for 3 turns certainly at least 1 for the full length of an NPBB chain. More importantly though, he has what I’ve been asking for ages why he wouldn’t have from the start, since it’s LITERALLY HIS LORE THAT THE HARDER YOU HIT HIM THE HARDER HE HITS BACK..........a question I realized actually has an answer as I worked this out. Spartacus is heal oriented to the point his stim has a built in heal, meaning even if you time his 1hp guts to be the turn of his NP, using his main damage buff in his third skill will immediately make that as much as 2001, which is why the formula has that 2000 added in. This actually doesn’t overdo it at all though since the factor being Max HP means Spartacus was already unfairly hurt by his bad stats from it compared to every other unit with a Low HP Damage Bonus NP. I also did the math, and the increase in damage from his buster stim DOES outweigh the decrease from gaining HP back.
So there we go. 2 different ways to combat Spartacus’s biggest and most egregious issue. The need to fix it and the useless nature of healing at this point is also why i didnt ditch the offensive buffs and reduce cooldown and increase healing further, to give Spartacus at max perpetual healing, even though lore wise that’s a perfect fit. But I think these two fit him as well and synergize well since his affinity means the damage he’s taking that gives him NP and attack will very likely trigger his 1hp guts on all but the most defensive support teams, in turn lining up a low HP NP. Oh, and remember:
#Artist: K-SUWABE#fcking legendary art from that person#fate spartacus#fgo#hypothetical rank ups#positive fate post#berserker of red#i dont care how bad he is i had to grail him at least once after SIN

How much resources do you usually have to use to get the early clear prize? :O
Me personally, I don’t keep track of how many resources I use...I don’t want to think about it as I use cake sets that I could use for another event or tickets that I should be saving for Gilbert and Keith.
The current early clear bonus requires sending hearts 250 times (is it always 250? Has it been slowly creeping higher since the beginning? I know the normal way has), so getting 25000 hearts. I suck at min/max calculations but I try to take advantage of of using as much naturally regen AP and story tickets as possible in the 2 and a third of a day given to get the card early + fever/lucky time.
I tried to do some math below if you’re interested. Can’t guarantee the accuracy of it. Story ticket-wise, I think I’ve probably used at least 30. Coins, 66000. Cake sets... *checks log* 2600 AP worth and counting. Not there yet. 1700 more hearts to go but I’ll do that later.
(story 2x, salon 2x, story 2x)
So in these three time blocks (but you only have until midnight of the 27th I think for early clear) , ideally you get 2500k hearts through free story tickets. 3300k if you happen to be in the spot where you get a love challenge on the two story days (like ch 12 and 14, 17 and 19, 22 and 24). If you’ve been using ads for the extra ticket and you end up starting the event at part 5 of a chapter, you can actually get 2000 or 2800 hearts on the first day of the event for free depending on if you had a love challenge. And then 3500/4300k I think. Anyway, let’s go with the most basic scenario of getting 2500k hearts during that 2 1/3 of a day through story reading without extra tickets.
Now onto hearts from salons. AP fully recovers every 5 hours, so ideally you can do 4 salons a day. Depends on when you’re able to play though.
Going by this schedule gets you 3.2k hearts.
So...for free, you can get 2.5k from the story, 3.2k from salon, 50 from liking friends, 200 from logging in between certain times. 5950 hearts. Gotta use some combination of tickets, cake sets, and buying hearts to make up for that 19,050 hearts. Whatever works best for you.

Suede in the German magazine Intro, May 1999.
An interview with Brett (in German), a short HM review (in English) and a gorgeous HM ad in colour, which was probably the highlight for me.
Original text of the interview under the cut. Taken from the Intro website where it was posted on 16th April 1999.
Aha, also Arroganz.
Oder wie Anderson es beschreibt: 'Lots of things changed the last years, but we didn't put down anything.' So hat er es gesagt. Vermutlich. Richtig anheimelnd. the power of. Wegen London. The power of Klischees. Also sexy Hedo-Kracher unter dem Eindruck elektronischen Ambientes, Beats, Bleeps and Clonx. 'I'm a bisexual man who has never had a homosexual experience.' 'Need a break!' Wer nicht? Pop-up: Wieso The London Suede?
#suede#head music#I’m gonna refrain from personal comments but let’s just say I found both the photos and the article hugely disappointing#good that it only cost like one euro lmao otherwise I would be enraged#there is not much content and also the writer is kinda rude?#idk i don't really remember tbh#if you want to know more run it through Google Translate it works fine w/ German#mine*
