As someone who have born in a country that used to be a fucking colony just 200 years ago, I find the monarchy disgusting. I find insane that figures that should only exists in books actually exist in real life, I find it violent and abhorrent, by the simply fact it exists, even before we talk about the impact that it has on us (the people).
It's bizarre see journalists and reporters from my own country similing and talking about the party the coronation is gonna be, like??????? Brah??? You're brazilian wtf you're doing.

imagine how rich you would have had to be 200 years ago to have music playing in the background while you cook dinner.

academic bias is so funny because you’ll be reading about the same historical event and one person is like “Despite the troubles that befell his homeland and near constant criticism of the court King Blorbo remained strong in the face of adversity” and the other one is like “after letting his people carry the brunt of his cringefail decisions Blorbo the Shitface refused to listen to any reason and continued to be a warmongering piece of shit. Also he was ugly.”

the idea of the internet connecting people and allowing the flow of information and knowledge in an unprecedented way was a great dream but the reality of being exposed to thousands of random peoples opinions at any time in the economic and social organization of social media has just made me increasingly cynical because the majority of people seem to have a vague “peasant easily convinced of fascism” mentality. this is why twitter is an op

This has absolutely nothing to do with this scene but is at least tangentially related to the Thriller Bark arc so I'm gonna share it anyway. The word galvanize is an eponym derived from Luigi Galvani, who was a scientist and physician in the 18th century who helped pioneer the field of bioelectricity when he discovered that he could make dead frog legs move when ran through with an electric current, with later proponents of his work going so far as to shock human corpses attempting to bring them to life. This breakthrough would in part inspire the creation of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, which, some two hundred or so years later would in part inspire Thriller Bark.
So in a way I guess you could say Hogback has galvanized these corpses, albeit with shadows instead of electricity, forcing them to move without recreating true life.

this dog came for foster with a horrifically shattered leg which had gone untreated and i fell in love with her instantly and i fought not to euthanise her for over 2 weeks even though she had heart disease and luxating patellas and aforementioned shattered leg and then they gave her to me on account of being in the vet industry and being able to provide her with everything she needs and i was the happiest person in the world for 48 hours until we went to surgery to fix her leg and she fucking carked it

can't believe a show based on a videogame (usually games adaptations are notoriously bad, which isn't the case here tho) gave me the beauty and the beast/twisted mirrors/enemies to traveling companions/ruthless antihero+optmistic but still badass heroine who takes none of his shit/age gap but make it sexy dynamic of my dreams. as much as i love maximus and i think he deserves the best writing ever because 1. he's a clever deconstruction of the aspiring Knight bro who's actually a bit of a loser and, as much as lucy, sees the world in black&white at first and then doesn't get what he thought he wanted but what he needs (or at least i hope he'll eventually get it), and 2. he's a cutie and i want an epic love story for him too, it's very funny how they tried to give us a puppy kind of romance and the tumblr girlies still fixated on the "toxic ~she bites his finger off and he cuts hers off and sews it on his hand in what we'll pretend it's a symbolic marriage rings exchange or whatever~ asshole who used to be a nice guy/good girl™ with a lot of spunk and hidden anger but unshakeable morals" kind of relationship.

Used to think the ‘it’s too early to tell what the impacts of the french revolution’ quote was dumb as hell. I think I understand it now. Nobody could have predicted the thread of Fouché thirst traps

M. Namuroy a 70 ans.
J’ai répugnance à me produire comme auteur.
