John 14:15 (NASB). “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
John 14:23 (ESV). [23] “Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”
1 John 5:3 (ESV). [3] “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.”
2 John 1:6 (NIV). [6] “And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.”
Luke 5:1-5 (NIV). [1] “One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. [2] He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. [3] He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat. [4] When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” [5] Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
Matthew 4:19 (ESV). [19] And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
“Blessings of Obedience” by In Touch Ministries:
“Those who love the Lord want to please Him, so they choose to follow His leading.”
“In John 14:15, Jesus taught His disciples, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” He repeated the connection between love and obedience several times because of its great importance. (See John 14:23; 1 John 5:3; 2 John 1:6.)
Following God’s will amounts to telling Him, “I love You.” Having the correct view of obedience—namely, that it’s an expression of love toward our heavenly Father—enables us to endure any difficulties we face. God pours out His blessings on those who obey Him.
Consider the example of Peter (also known as Simon). Jesus asked for use of his boat to preach to the crowd. Having been up all night without catching any fish, Peter might have given the Lord an excuse—too tired, too discouraged, a lot of cleaning up to do. Instead, he took a step into a life of obedience and blessing. On the surface, lending his vessel to help Jesus didn’t seem important beyond the moment. But God had more in mind than a one-time loan of a boat. He was going to use Peter’s life and make him a fisher of men (Matthew 4:19).
God rewarded Peter with service in His kingdom. He wants to do the same for us. How is the Spirit prompting you, and what is your response?”

Love Means Doing What God Has Commanded Us (‭2 John 1:6)
‭2 John 1:6 NLT‬ [6] Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.

nerves wracked through him as he played with a corner of the stiff card in his back pocket, no doubt bent and not as perfect as Ghost deserves it to be.
But then again Ghost doesn't do this kind of thing, so even this will make him look a fool. though Soap would be remiss to not do it, has done it for lesser, meaner, undeserving partners. So he will do it for Ghost like it matters, because he matters.
he flicked the butt of his cigarette to the ground and crushed it under his boot, the nic doing little to cool his jitters as he leaned back against the shadow-cool stone.
he was early, but not by much. usually, right as the sun goes down, they have a smoke around the back of the laundry building and watch the sun set; it wasn't a spoken thing, just routine.
usually.
he needed an early smoke today. Thought he did anyway, but it wasn't helping. not really. He checks his watch again. Ghost still hasn't shown up yet and the sun's started it's set. He lights another cigarette.
it's not until his third light of the evening, and the sun is painting the sky pink and orange that Ghost finally stalks towards him.
he stops toe-to-toe with him, mask already rolled up, and he plucks the mostly burned cigarette from Soap's mouth,
"these things will kill you, you know," he says, finishing it off and crushing it under his boot.
"you're late," he mutters, lighting another one. takes a drag. Ghost takes it from him.
"you're early," Ghost grouses back, as Soap lights one for himself. the card in his pocket weights a ton.
"sun's early," he hums. Ghost hums in agreement as they fall into a familiar silence.
it's only when the sun's only sliver on the far horizon that Soap finally slaps the card onto Ghost's chest. don't look. it doesn't matter. it not even a big deal. it doesn't matter. it does matter. it doesn't even matter. don't even look. just do it like a bandaid. don't even mention it.
Ghost is silent as he takes it. silent as he looks at it. but it doesn't matter. he didn't do anything. it doesn't mean anything. act like it didn't happen. it did. it didn't.
he's telling himself off of nervously ashing his cigarette unnecessarily again when he feels Ghost haphazardly tuck the card into his belt at his waist. his own. not Ghost's. it feels like putting out that ashed cigarette on his own skin, and something else. like rejection, except he didn't do anything. nothing to be rejected about. neither of them say anthing.
he takes the card from his belt. flips it between his fingers. doesn't look at it. knows what it is.
except
except his card was smooth. why does it have texture now. rough and gritty feeling on his fingertips.
he looks at the card in his hands. it's a simple white card, two glittery red tulips on the front. not his card. not the one he gave to Ghost. flipping open the front, Ghost's neat penning, 'A BLADE AT MY SIDE' the enduring way Ghost writes in all caps. he's glad they're not looking at each other with the way his face heats to an embarrassing degree.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yippee ^_^ yayyyy :D tgaa jurors there they are !!!
John Garrideb does not hate his wife but their relationship is very ripe for boomer humor
In regards to the trench warfare one all of the jurors on the bottom are in their 20's (to me) apart from Maisie (corn juror) who is 18, so they would be roughly in their 30's at the time of ww1 which is prime age for being conscripted (technically this only applies to the boys but shhh)
Two versions of the brother meme cuz I think they both fit
I'm tagging with my made up names :)

So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
“But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless.
“Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
“For many are invited, but few are chosen.”
Matthew 22:10-14
Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
1 Peter 5:5
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Romans 13:14
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Philippians 2:8
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Colossians 3:12
If we say we are his, we must follow the example of Christ.
1 John 2:6
just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Matthew 20:28

1 John 2:5-6 (NASB1995).[5] but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: [6] the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”
Matthew 25:14-30 (NIV). [14] “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. [15] To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. [16] The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. [17] So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. [18] But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. [19] “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. [20] The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ [21] “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ [22] “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ [23] “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ [24] “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. [25] So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ [26] “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? [27] Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. [28] “ ‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. [29] For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. [30] And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’”
“A Life That God Rewards” by In Touch Ministries: a
“Are you honoring God with the gifts He has entrusted to you?”
“Today’s passage shows us one of the greatest rewards we could possibly receive: hearing the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (vv. 21-23 NIV). Just imagine being acknowledged in that way!
It’s important to examine yourself to determine if you’re living a life that God will praise. Consider these areas:
Your mind: When you wake up, is your mind bent toward the Lord or toward all you must do over the next few hours?
Your desires: Do you want to listen to God, walk in His ways, and let Him accomplish His will for your life?
Your deeds: Is obeying God your top priority? He desires for you to be a faithful steward. (See 1 John 2:5-6.)
Your pureheartedness: Do you tolerate sin in your life? A godly person readily confesses wrongdoing before the Lord.
Your time: Are you spending your time on worthless things or investing it in the kingdom of God?
The Lord is calling each of us to be a faithful steward of everything He’s given us. Every day counts because our rewards for this life will be eternal. How foolish to live for the world when we could live for Christ and hear Him say, “Well done!”
