yay, another lot finished up for redbud bay! this is the home of the first lesbian couple i had in this 'hood: doctor aoife kramer (named after @oceansmotion) and her wife, schoolteacher ivory moore. they also have an adopted son, harald, who may soon be getting a baby sibling this round!

the original lot was alisomar, 3t2'd by @danies-simsational-blog, but i pretty much completely rebuilt the exterior, changed the layout, and of course redecorated everything. went on a big t$r 'old cc' shopping spree recently too and got a bunch of new furniture to try out 🤞🏽

the backyard is the only thing that i mostly left untouched, i just moved a couple of plants around and added a garden for ivory 💚

doc aoife has her own medical research office i guess, and the couple also has a cat named tabitha. i put up a bunch of little kiddie decorations since ivory wants another baby.

alright let’s go over the junior year clues we got in the rick perry documentary thing (disclaimer: i’ve definitely missed stuff, but i think i got the big things, feel free to reblog and add with stuff that i missed though)

[at the bottom of this post I've typed out the decipherable words that plan out some combats and NPCs from Rick's screen. it's the most interesting thing but it's super long so it's at the bottom under a cut]

We get a blurry look at some minis. I’m seeing at least the PC’s minis, as well as what looks like Baxter the Gryphon.

There’s some major shots of this battle. Includes a Baby mini, the Hangvan with some kind of laser canon on top, a stingray-esque monster that is likely Night Yorb (see below), something that looks like maybe an ice elemental or the crystal (see below), and some large bugs and shirtless people. Clearly set in the Red Wastes. Detailed info of the planning for this battle below.

One of the shots had reference boards in the background. One is clearly for the Hangvan (see earlier screencaps), but the other is unclear. It looks like it includes some sort of tennis or tennis-adjacent sport.

Confirmation that Mordred Manor is a set piece.

Finally, one shot showed Rick’s computer screen with some critical info about planning. I’ve put what I’ve been able to decipher below the screencaps. and under a cut, as it’s very long.

In the end, you decided that you would have given Corvus your trusty metal pen, but by the time you finished gathering your equipment and solidified that idea in your mind, the merman was gone. For such a giant of a man, the black betta was a master at stealth. You wondered how he could have covered his tracks in the short few minutes you had been distracted, but you weren’t going to expend the effort to find out when the sun had already set half an hour before. Instead of your pen, you leave a compass hanging from a chain on one of the inner walls of his den and make your way back up the cliff side to head home. 

There’s a lot on your mind on the drive back. Road safety be damned, you start to take actual notes on your phone about the merman. At the top, in bold, you write: ‘Pearls are an engagement ring— to be avoided for now’. A flash of uncomfortable warmth fills your chest at the slip up, and you quickly delete the ‘for now’, moving on to the next line.

You’re back home before you realize it, pulling into your apartment complex, parking your car, and removing the key from the ignition. You decide against grabbing any of your equipment in your back seat aside from the gear that desperately needs to be washed, mind far too preoccupied with a certain giant the color of coal and bone. The door to your apartment swings shut behind you. …When did you even get inside? Yep, you’re an emotional mess, and you need a cold shower for more than just the salt coating your body.

Despite the poor quality of sleep you barely manage to get that night, you’re up bright and early. With the necessary surveying finished two days early, you have the option of going and working from the office today, but the allure of another eight to ten hours with the potential of seeing your newest… friend beckons you like a siren’s call. You spend the drive down wondering if Corvus actually is a siren and if he’s simply luring you into an elaborate trap to eat you alive. If he was, would he have thought over your marriage proposal as he did—? You slap yourself out of that traitorous line of thinking immediately. You did not intend to propose– you have known him for a total of two days.

When you pull up to the dock that saw your life change forever, the trepidation that sinks into your core forces you to stare at the waves through the cracked windshield of the Ford Bronco you’re sitting in. Your coworkers aren’t coming out with you today either (nor do you think they will any later date unless anything new crops up). Limbs heavy, you throw the door open and hop out onto the gravel with a crunch. At least today you can spend the day relaxing.

Your feet carry you to the metal dock as you idly take in the morning breeze. It isn’t as cold today as it has been for the past several weeks, and just before you left home, you prepared ahead for what is, admittedly, a dumb idea. With no one around, you feel comfortable to go through with it. Standing at the head of the pier, you cautiously remove your outer layers to reveal the black bathing suit beneath. It’s a one piece bodysuit: a halter top with chiffon frills and bows at your hips and shoulders. Silver rhinestones adorn the neckline and continue down your front in a double helix, meeting a thin band that wraps around your waist. 

The early sun warms the galvanized steel under your feet. You stride the floating dock until you’ve reached the end and test the water with your foot, happy to find that the polar chill so common in this area of the coast isn’t present today. A gentle breeze passes over your skin, and you kneel to sit down upon the heated metal. 

The abyss of the salted tides swallows your legs, the refraction of the water causing them to bend and twist at odd angles as the depths swell around you. You kick your legs in lazy swirls and feel the power of the waves as they rush past you. 

It had been weeks since your last swim in the ocean. The weather had been no help, really, with the near constant overcast of clouds that only seemed to subside this past week. 

A glimpse of a deep rust red in the water catches your eyes first, then a whirl of brown shooing it off. Harlequin ducks! You had no idea they had been nesting this far down the coast. The brown hen successfully bats away the approaching male, and you lean forward to watch her. A gasp of elation leaves you when you see the four fuzzy ducklings desperately trailing behind their mother, wobbling unsteadily in the gentle waves. Adoration floods through you when one of them manages to hop up onto her back. You turn to grab your phone to take a picture for your team, only to sigh in disappointment when you look back to the end of the dock and see it resting on top of your discarded clothes. 

You turn back to the open ocean with a huff, looking back down at your feet.

It was the little moments like this that had originally inspired you to get into marine conservation to begin with. The coast had always felt like a second home. The wonders of its creatures and their home kept you coming back day after day, even before that statement had become literal. It was ironic that the only place you didn’t feel like you were drowning when your studies would swamp you had been the ocean. 

But the tides had a healing quality to them. As they would come and go, so too would the weight of the world around you. It was easy to get lost in responsibilities and demands back at home. Society has shifted so drastically over your lifetime, demanding more and more out of everyone yet giving back so little. Here, at the water’s edge, you could block it all out and just focus on the beauty that was in front of you.

Like the rusty reds and browns of a harlequin duck and the tiny little fluff-balls of its ducklings, or the rolling clouds that extend far beyond the horizon in milky patches across the sky. The way the light filtered through the sapphire swells, the reflection of the rays on the porcelain beneath.

Corvus’s obsidian eyes gaze up at you from between your legs, and you almost kick him this time for sneaking up on you. He absolutely would have deserved it, but unfortunately the aquatic giant has no problem dodging you in the depths.

“If you do that one more time–” you growl, withdrawing your legs from the water, “I am going to lose it.”

Corvus watches for a brief moment before he surfaces, resting a hand on the dock beside your leg. It’s nearly as long as your thigh. “I swear to you that it is not purposeful. Are your hearts alright?”

“Hearts?” you wonder aloud, “My heart is fine, thank you.” Your legs slide back into the ocean, and you feel one of the merman’s fins slide against your foot. Both of you shift to compensate and avoid that happening again, but the brush of velvety texture preoccupies your mind.

Corvus inspects the beach with nonchalance. “Have you only one? Humans and their peculiarities…” the betta comments, turning to look back up at you. He lifts his head fully out of the water, waves lapping at his shoulders as he rests his broad chin upon your knee. 

The shock of both the cold and intimacy of the action tenses your body. Corvus doesn’t react to the change, seeming not to notice. Was this normal for merfolk? His raven locks tickle your thigh, water droplets glittering in the morning sun. An itch in the palm of your hand makes itself known, and you tediously reach to touch one of the wet strands. 

“Are you hungry?” Corvus’s voice interrupts the action.

You snap back to reality. “No,” you answer, confused, “Why do you ask?”

Corvus gestures towards the family of ducks nearby with a clawed finger. “You were transfixed on the sea fowl.”

Corvus’s answer floors you, mouth hanging open as you look at him in horror. Did he seriously think you were going to eat them? “They’re babies. Harmless, cute, fluffy little baby ducklings,” you say, exasperated. 

“Yes,” the merman nods against you, “they can be caught with ease, but they are not very saturating.”

The hand near Corvus’s head slaps against your chest, pearl-clutching as you stare in shock. “No, Corvus! I’m not going to eat a duckling!” you shout.

The giant recoils in confusion at your answer, eyebrows subtly knitting as he looks up at you. Your reaction causes him to shift and pull away like a scolded dog.

Realizing you’ve upset him somehow, your heart drops. You reach forward to place a hand in his hair without thinking, trying to comfort the fleeing mer before he can get too far. The thought of him leaving makes your entire body ache. He stops, and you silently thank whatever deity is watching. Before Corvus can think too much about it, you try to explain, “Humans don’t eat babies. Usually. I would prefer not to eat the duckling. I just think they’re cute, okay?”

Corvus still seems visibly troubled, but he relents. When you try to guide him back to your lap, the betta allows it. This time, though, he does not hesitant to plop his head down, his hands resting on the dock at either side of you to keep himself stable. You push down any emotions the action threatens to well within you. “I apologize for having offended you,” he laments. The melancholy in his voice is audible, and it makes you burn.

“Please don’t apologize,” you all but beg, beginning to run your hand through the dark hair on Corvus’s head. Even wet, it was as soft as the rest of him. “I shouldn’t have gotten so worked up. I’m sorry.”

Corvus doesn’t understand why you would be apologizing, eyes searching for something in you that you can't determine, but he doesn’t comment on it. You feel his chest expand in what you think is a deep breath, water rushing into and out of his gills around your submerged legs. "Okay," he mutters, his larger body finally relaxing against you, "Okay."

A comfortable silence envelops the two of you. Light vibrations in the water peak your interest, but the rumbling that starts in Corvus's chest when you scratch his head completely enraptures you. You do your best to remain calm and not draw any attention to it, lest the purring stop.

The gentle giant rests in your lap as the morning sun warms you both, idly wafting his fins in the water around you. 'Beautiful' is the only word that comes to mind.

▶ Bookmen’s « lineage »

Why was Lavi given 49 aliases/names when Bookman has none (at least, none that we know so far)? Does the name mark the apprenticeship? How does this even work? We know there are many Bookmen or sympathizers (just like Neah, actually) in DGM’s universe and they help each other when it’s needed, but we know so little about them!

Out of all the groups in the story, be it families or clans, the Bookmen are the only ones that the story specifically qualifies as a blood relationship, unlike the others. At the beginning of volume 13, Road uses ‘chisuji/血筋’ (lineage, blood relationship, descent ; the kanji for blood, 血, is a component of the word) to define the Bookmen:

The rest of the cast is defined with a clanic/familial notion that doesn’t specifically require a blood relationship:

➔ The Noahs are defined with ‘ichizoku’/一族 (family, relatives, household: ‘zoku’/族 is the kanji for tribe, clan, band, family). ➔ The Luberrier are also described by Lavi in the manga with 一族, but also with ‘ke’/家 (house, family), just like the Chang (I couldn’t find it for the Epstein, but it might also be ‘ke’), and ‘kazoku’/家族 (family, and as ichizoku, 族 is one of its components). ➔ When Luberrier qualifies Hevlaska’s crime against her own family/tribe (it’s highly probable she is a Luberrier herself), he uses ‘douzoku’/同族 and ‘ichizoku’.

The Bookmen stand out with this sole occurrence. I wonder what this really means, because the Bookmen were introduced as a group definitely not related by blood, formed through apprenticeship. And if I’m not mistaken, Hoshino even hinted at the importance of the Bookmen ties in one of her recent ig posts… ? It might even have a connexion to Lavi’s concealed eye, who knows!

In ch119, Lavi and Bookman have been associated with wheat or barley, overly present in the Campbell mansion landscape.

If Hoshino really pushes the wordplay between multiple languages, « spring » also refers to the coil or screw/helical shape in english, which is interesting since the recent chapters focus on the helix magic explained by……. Past!Allen!

(Lavi could also be a reference to 'la vie' which means 'the life' in French /jk idek at this point haha)

▶ past!Allen

(I’m thinking about that ‘past!Allen was a Bookman’ theory again haha)

Somehow after transplanting Neah’s memories in him, past!Allen became in the former’s eyes « a crazy puppet », as he said in volume 21. past!Allen was someone whose affiliation to the Innocence was beyond imaginable to Neah: once Neah learns his present self wishes to be an exorcist he deems him as his enemy. This is very poor reasoning, but the only characters revealed to have ‘sided’ with the Noah in the manga are Bookmen until the present war broke out or some time before. We also know Bookman lost one (or more) successor(s) before Lavi thanks to Sheril’s threats (« you don’t want to lose another successor again, right? »).

And the « again » is accentuated in the original version (the panels on the left):

When Tyki reports to Sheril what happened and Bookman overhears it, it’s as though he had prior knowledge from an unidentified source of what would trigger the history they were meant to record as Bookmen (the panels on the upper right). « An Innocence called Apocryphos… The departure of Allen Walker… » sounds as though he’s listing off ‘early signs’ finally announcing an important event is about to occur.

Could it be that someone/something had foreseen this? Or had already experienced this before them in another timeline or world? In addition to the ‘other world’ the Noah once lived in according to Cross, dream!Bookman insisting on the fact Bookmen live outside of the world (in ch119, the last panel on the bottom right), Allen and Lenalee’s dreams and the constant imagery of the world being nothing but a stage actors play on, it’s tempting to think there’s a timeline distortion/alternate universe or whatever plot line going on in this story.

It’s also interesting to note that for an unknown reason, Wisely interrupted Bookman’s questioning and refused to reveal whatever he read in his mind (eg. Road’s relationship to Neah), as Tyki reveals it in ch225:

Compared to the third generation exorcists, who began as Crows just like Link, why is Link the only Crow to have a last name? If I’m not mistaken, Hoshino doesn’t use the Japanese naming order (family then given name) eg. Allen Walker, Cross Marian. So Link’s first name would be Howard.

In Link’s flashback in volume 21, Tewaku called him « Lin-niisama » (could this hold some significance in the manga later on?):

Was his first name Lin? I don’t believe Tewaku would call him by his last name as a child. If it’s the case, why would they swap his first and last name later? Or were the Crows ordered to call each other by their last names, since the flashback seems to happen when they became Crows? Is Link’s first name important somehow?

Before becoming a Crow, was his name Lin, not Link? Or was it just an affectionate nickname given by Tewaku? Where did Howard come from?

Or did they have no name at all or no name they could remember, like Red?

I was always under the impression that Link was his first name for some reason, I was a little silly haha

Aside from Tewaku, the only moment the third generations interacted with Link was when Goushi accidentally hurt Allen. Unlike Link, who calls them by their name, Goushi here mentions Link by his full name and title in quotation marks: « Inspector Howard Link ».

I don’t really know what to make of it. The formality would be pretty normal as their functions as Crows call for it, but it still seems weird to me as the 3rd generations call each other by their name.

Perhaps some distance gradually came to form between Link and them (eg. their training as Crows that seems really harsh and impersonal, or the influence of the Akuma cells)? (It also could be that Goushi was visually impaired, and recognized Link by his voice!)

Also when Tewaku cries for help, she asks for Madarao, Tokusa, Goushi and Kiredori but not Link.

▶ Artificial Exorcists Arc parallels

The artificial exorcists were, in retrospect, pseudo-Noahs created by the hands of humanity: they were given great regenerative abilities and a predestined role, to become exorcists in this war. The Order forced on them previous existences from which they would gain the ability to synchronize. But the memories of their previous lives threatened to overwhelm them, affecting their mind and senses, the Order would then deem them as ‘failures’. With the third generation, they intended to perpetuate these abilities for generations but Alma’s hatred was too deeply rooted.

There are also visual parallels between Kanda, Alma, Mana and Red/Neah:

Allen’s current situation also parallels Kanda’s past anguish with unknown memories flooding his head and the fact that both Alma and Mana were alive was hidden to them.

(Now I’m expecting a flashback from Link’s pov of the operation to instill Crow’s ability to cast magic with this kind of hand imagery, it would be interesting)

There were also these panels in volume 27 (my stomach churned when I searched them again for this post)… The last two panels fill me with pure disgust, I turned these pages really fast because that was too much.

Hands can convey many messages and symbols like that in the way they’re framed, the ones above are drawn by Hoshino in a way that inspires horror and abuse.

In DGM, sometimes they’re a symbol of connection (eg. Allen and Suman, Johnny and Allen), sometimes a symbol of influence, control and violence.

When Lenalee remembers her past, the Order and the Crow’s uniform is a symbol of her suffering: the personnel’s faces are obscured, contrasting with their outfits.

It’s the same when she remembers the experiments that forced victims into Fallen Ones. Their hand grasping the boy as well as the boy’s waving her are also highlighted. The profusion of the scientists and executives’s comments and orders, represented by bubbles gradually taking all the place, desensitized and disconnected to the cruelty of the experiments we see depicted behind it.

Luberrier’s figure in the page on the right is the only face with distinctive features she remembers, concentrating her fears.

(And ironically, Lenalee’s Dark Boots feel very heavy and could be a symbol of all her fears and hatred shackling her: they empower her but at the same time weigh her down emotionally. Her scene with the head nurse giving her her boots destroyed me ;;;;;;;;;;;;;)

In the Destruction of the Black Order arc, the ghost even forgot her name, but the memory of the experiments along with (supposedly) a Luberrier dragging her by force remain.

Luberrier and Link’s introduction in the manga also represent them with their teeth highlighted:

I think my favorites change from day to day and year to year, but RIGHT NOW I'm fond of these ones:

At the End of the Road (the Untamed, Wangxian) I like this one because I feel it was a successful fulfillment of my artistic ambition, which was to write a sexy and unhinged fill for the prompt "practice edging". It basically wrote itself, I didn't overthink it, it's hot and funny and even has emotions! Also it has by far the most kudos, so it's my favorite in the way that your favorite child is the one who brings home lots of awards from school.

2. A Heady Cocktail (the Untamed, Lan Wangji/Jiang Cheng) is also Just Smut, but I am fond of it because it's my manifestation of the one specific flavor of this ship that I like. Two prickly characters who only know how to soften up in the presence of their mutual beloved, alone together and figuring it out. I had a good time playing with how Wei Wuxian was involved in their dynamic even while not physically present. Also I just wanted to describe modern Jiang Cheng looking great and making negronis, for Reasons.

3. My Apple Tree, My Brightness (The Untamed, Wangxian) This fic is hella good and makes everyone cry, even me! It's a science fiction AU where post-siege LWJ, in seclusion, runs simulations to try to figure out how he could have saved Wei Wuxian. Spoiler: he couldn't, but it turns out to be worthwhile, anyway. The ending is especially well written, IMO, and the sci fi worldbuilding is pleasingly deft. I put this third on the list but it's possibly actually my favorite.

4. Veritas (the Untamed, Wangxian) A Fake Dating fic where a pining Lan Wangji agrees to be Wei Wuxian's "terrible" fake date to the Qin Su/Jin Guangyao wedding. Some parts of it feel rushed or underdone to me, but I'm proud of the humor and the climactic set piece, and The People do seem to really like it! I don't naturally think of myself as a humorous writer, but perhaps I am...good at it?? Oh, and, fun fact, I did more research for this fic than any other (not counting listening to a lot of vintage goth music for the Quiet Room).

5. Anchor Point (Sherlock, Johnlock) I'm only giving one slot to Sherlock fic in this list, and it has to go to this weird cool thing I made. It was for a kinkmeme prompt, a Sherlock/Truman Show fusion where Sherlock is Truman and "John" is an actor hired to play his John Watson. Mycroft is the mastermind. Writing this fic was a really educational exercise in making it seem like something Really Big was going on while not being able actually explain the details (a trick I learned from Moftiss, LOLLLLL) It was very tricky and fun and I'm still quite proud of it.

Backstory: Katriona grew up as a tall child, permanently taller than everyone around her. Her mother the less successful sister of a specialist doctor, and her father the eighth of eight kids. No one knew how tall she would eventually be, and how much pain she'd end up in, before she got corrective surgery at the age of 20 (she stopped growing at 7'0"). She pays for everything in her life through wrestling (and her artwork), something she'd learnt from her family.

Katriona started wrestling professionally when she was 16, and back then she was only 6'0". Having a flair for the dramatic, and a desire to up the amount of money she could spend on food, Katriona trained to be a highflyer (and took a more comedic angle to her wrestling), and soon doubled her drawing power because of it, after all, it's not everyday that you see an (actual) giant do a backflip and succeed. Going under the mask, as a way to market herself as a potential threat, came soon after this.

Although, in reality, she knows deep down that she wears the mask to hide her face, and remain somewhat private in her everyday life. She would make people think that if the mask was removed, during a match, that she would become much more savage, and cannibalistic, and attempt to bite her opponent. Vesta talked her into becoming the Gluttonous Giantess, and soon after joining the Lucifarians, her natural height and weight advantage, put her on track for being the biggest draw of the group, a role Katriona doesn't like much.

i'm finally back to building in ts2! have my latest lot showcase: a house i've redecorated for a growing family, the owners being the town tailor and gardener 😊

idk if anyone really remembers, but on my old blog i think i talked a little about the town this family lives in? it's called redbud bay, and it was my first custom town for ts2. i kinda based it off of a series by pleasantsims, i think... back then when i was first playing i got lazy and just used plasticbox's lots mixed in with a few from 3t2 sunset valley. now i've gotten better at building and decided to go back and redo the whole town in a cohesive style.

Days 3-5 of Australia vacation: Hobart

On Day 3, we got up early and discovered (to my utter amazement) that showing up at the airport just over an hour before departure for a domestic flight in Australia left ample time for shopping in the terminal even after we had some difficulty with self-checking our luggage.

I enjoyed having free wifi and snacks on the short flight, too, and I loved the view out the window during the descent. Tasmania is gorgeous from above!

We landed in Hobart mid-morning. The airport was a bit of a zoo, but we eventually set out in a giant rental car (to fit the four of us and all our luggage).

The vacation rental was a fairly spacious apartment with inadequate towels and pillows as well as bathrooms that were in desperate need of being redone.

We left our luggage and then drove into town, where we ate lunch sitting outside at a cafe. Despite the urban surroundings, I spotted a bird on a wire and, after looking at it in my binoculars, ascertained that it was a Green Rosella. Not only was this a new bird for me, but it's endemic to Tasmania--it can't be seen anywhere else! So that was an auspicious start to my Tasmanian birdwatching.

Brother-In-Law gave me a ride partway up the mountain on the edge of town (kunanyi/Mt. Wellington) to the trailhead for Fern Glade Track; then he went back to town to hang out with Wife and Sister-In-Law. I had a really nice little hike. I was on the trail for nearly 3 hours, but only went a little over 2 miles. My stated goal was to find a pink robin, but I despaired of that fairly soon as I wasn't familiar with any of the local birds yet and didn't even really know where to look, just that this was the right sort of habitat. I had studied their song and at one point thought perhaps I heard one, but I couldn't locate it. Still, it was a nice hike, and I spotted wallabies a couple of times. I also did see a few birds: a yellow wattlebird, several Tasmanian scrubwrens, a black currawong (which makes a hilarious and distinctive sound), a (probable) scrubtit, and a (probable) Tasmanian thornbill--all of which are endemic! And I heard forest ravens but didn't spot them. Actually, I heard a lot of birdsong but couldn't find the birds, and was extremely disappointed to discover that Merlin's sound ID function doesn't work in Australia.

I rushed back to the road in time to catch the once-per-hour bus back to town. I did not have the correct change for the fare, but the driver just let me ride anyway. Phew.

I met the others at a restaurant on the water and we had drinks and dinner there.

On Day 4, Wife and I had slept really poorly and were too tired to go through with the original plan, so my in-laws went wine tasting and then visited Port Arthur without us. Wife and I took a little walk along the water and saw some sea anemones. And later, I did manage to do a very productive 2-mile, 2.5-hour bird walk around the beach and park near the flat. I spotted lots of new birds: some masked lapwings with their adorable fledglings, a little wattlebird, musk lorikeets, eastern rosellas, sulphur-crested cockatoos (some of which were playing acrobatically in the wind, including flipping upside down), a long-billed corella, galahs, a black-faced cormorant, kelp gulls (Tasmania only has 3 kinds of gull and they're sufficiently different that I was able to identify all of them), and --less excitingly-- some Eurasian blackbirds.

Eventually we all went for a delicious dinner together at an Asian fusion restaurant, and then went to an ice cream boat (Van Diemens Land Creamery) for dessert. We stood under an awning to eat our ice creams in the rain.

On Day 5, we visited the Salamanca Markets in the morning. It was very crowded (Hobart was busy because it was high tourist season in general (holidays, summer) and because the Sydney-Hobart yacht race was going on or possibly ending), but there were some interesting things for sale and also some fun food. I enjoyed a fried potato helix on a stick, which Brother-In-Law informed me was very standard outdoor festival food!

Then we drove to MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art. This is... a very weird museum. The very eccentric owner David Walsh (a mathematician who used his skills to win a lot of money at casinos?) had it built to show his private art collection. We were there for several hours and didn't see all of it, but there was a lot of interesting stuff and the architecture was also good. It's mostly underground. There was a huge exhibition of works by Tomás Saraceno, an artist whose work I've seen some of before. These included a few about air pollution, of which I liked "We Do Not All Breathe The Same Air" best, and an installation called "A Thermodynamic Imaginary" which was astronomy-inspired. In the permanent collection, my favorite was perhaps "Kryptos" by Brigita Ozolins.

There was also a piece called "4PM" by Dean Stevenson, which was a performance; he's a composer and every day he has to compose something because a quartet is going to perform at 4pm whatever he wrote that day. It might be short, but it has to be something!

We were pretty exhausted after that. We had seen Tasmanian nativehens (another endemic!) in the adjacent vineyards when we arrived, and saw them again when we left. We went back home to have some downtime (and a cocktail) before returning to MONA for an outdoor music festival for New Year's Eve. That was pretty fun. We were lucky that it was unusually warm that day and evening. The music was mixed--my favorite band was actually the punk band (Liquid Nails?) that played around midnight--but the setting was nice. It was not too crowded yet also felt like we were out doing something for New Year's Eve, which I don't often do. We ate, had a few drinks, admired the stars, lounged about, explored a little. There was a playground, and I found that swinging on a swing while tipsy was very fun. But there's no denying that it felt really weird to be out so late!

Let's face it, I've been working on varying versions of this list for 12 years. I've never come close to hitting my goal. BUT I have done a whole bunch of things I've always wanted to do, that I probably never would have done other wise, so whether or not I reach the goal, I think this is a good thing to keep going.

I went right back to the original list, and am combining it with all the iterations from over the years. I'm also adding in my travel goals. I always kept them separate because I didn't have the money to travel, and wanted to keep my list achievable, but I'm not as concerned about hitting every goal any more, and also, if I don't travel by 50, then when?

I've made a separate list for the things I've done too, to remind myself of what I have accomplished. The items I removed from the list because I really don't think it's possible, or care if I achieve it, I'm putting back in as bonus goals... they don't need to count, but maybe the opportunity will come up, who knows? And it's good to see where I've come from.

It’s 19 Sept 2024, and the visions were intense this morning. I’m trying to filter the math. It’s interesting, that concept of filter because it means you catch it on one side or let it through to the other side. In other words, filtering requires 2, which means it rests on Halving, which rests on the compression and reduction of 2:1, as Triangular rotates so to the Observer there is a 1-0Segment, with the 3rd End either invisible or rendered as a point behind and coming up to the Observer as a midline. That’s how Halving enters all phenomena: you can see the fD. On your Observer line, whether that’s literally you or some group - was thinking about something called photonic group delay as applicable - the inversion is to that 3rd End because you are the 3rd End coming at you from the 1-0Segment.

Remember: this is phrased in 1Space, and thus in infinities, which means they occur as long as there’s minimal space, which gets to the minimal length, energy, etc. at the Planck scale. I don’t want to get off track, but the idea is that physical distance is always there even when one is literally inside the other because there is always Boundary between D3-4 existences. I keep thinking of cannibals, but I’m not sure if that’s a counter example because then it’s the survivor having a Boundary and the physical Thing disappearing but until then that eaten Thing exists in its Boundary. Even if you’re connecting the tiny bits under a label. If it can be processed … that’s gsProcess.

Alrighty. Having trouble getting to the images. Key point in there was the Observer line is that which renders 2:1.

This is starting to come together, but I’m not sure how it comes out. I’m noticing all my flaws, like my head itches, my right arm feels remote, the pressure on one side is more, all the out of alignment items which come to notice. The itching draws attention to an area, which is why sometimes scratching the opposite side helps; it balances the attention demands, whatever is firing.

The idea is that when we CR a 1-0Segment or a 1Segment, which is an End with an n counted other End, meaning it’s non-specified but is of course n-1. So, the images said that we take a bT and CR each edge, and we then connect to another bT to make one of the 3fD available, and that makes 4 of these CR’d segments on the outside and 2 in the middle, laid over each other.

This led to a lot. I believe we’ve done this work before, which should help me get it out. Since we treat a bT as a D3 object in 1Space, then we have D6 with obvious D5’s in the overlapped CR’d segments, which we can treat as spinning or motivated in the opposite directions. This also generates the Irreducibles because that orthogonal state maximizes the group distance, if that’s the way to say it. I mean that if we treat this as pure Boundary, then we have a single End labeled Start on one side and End on the other, except reading the other way it is also Start and End, so they have two labels. But that means they’re the same End entangled to some degree of identity over the End. Irreducible shifts the dislocation from the invisible Attachment where the loops run in opposite directions. Remember: this is how we get a double helix.

That dislocation extends over the segment, which becomes the complex plane map in which we see Boundary run above and below the x or xK axis. Then the orthogonal y or yK axis is the balance between in either direction. And both. Same as elsewhere in the generation of grid squares.

Did not intend to go down that road. I’m still working out the implications of the eye image. One is that it means the overlapping sides is correct. The old idea was that the right half of an fD belonged to the left side, etc. I think we called this SlideOver. You can see why: a structure Attaches at the tangent point to the Boundary, and that slides over the 1-0Segment to the far End which is tangent the other way. So it penetrates not to the heart, but to the far side, which maps to the inner side of a basic 2T communicative model.

That is, say we have 2 T and we represent those as off screen to the left and to the right. They thus can be focused at the Ends of an fD. We can of course extend left and right to be whatever swirls about, meaning we encapsulate the CR of the dividing segment in another CR. That fits to the Hexagonal: we are connecting the centers of 2 Hexagons as representing 2 Things.

These 2T each, as an End have the same structure as any other T, so there’s another CR, this time scaled to the size of the End, literally the Boundary of an End, which is one reason why we talk about units.

So the tip of the bT slides along the line, which is drawn by or at the Irreducible, which also means it constructs in gs as it goes. It reaches the far End, and that far End has another side, which here we can call inner because it relates to the Attached structure, and whatever is in that Attached structure expresses as the inner at that End. That of course means the tip of the bT both slides around the End and moves across it to form the identification.

The inherent movement around Boundary reflects as iterations becoming odds and probability. That is, because Boundary is always Between, which is fundamental in the creation of existence in D3-4//4-3, then you get iterations. And these can be symmetries or whatever.

I glimpsed the image again. Frustrating. So close to it. Oh right, we were making circles. And we had up to 6 of them. We have the obvious 4 and the 2 in the middle. The image kept showing that 3 of them combine with a 4th, and that simple process maps to D3-4. That then means D4-3 maps as 4 dropping one. I can see D5 as hands. I can see D6 as containing the potential which reduces to D3-4//D4-3.

An underlying point, however, is that this describes a Thing made of 2T, so the switching of sides maps to switching internally. This applies to me but also to any interaction I have with another Thing.

That was very difficult to say. Seriously hard. Constructing D-structure using the CR of 1-0Segments.

I’m seeing the flail. So we have a D1, which is an End and the flail, go up to the inner side of Boundary, which is why it can be measured physically sometimes but not always and why we can argue about what’s in or out. Even in super slo-mo.

So D2 draws the 2nd End. We had dimensionality come from CR, which can be mutual, one round the other, or both around a center. You can see directionality in the potential CR’s.

Let’s say it must reduce to D3. I think the answer is that the 2 together make D3-4//4-3 and thus D3 is always created no matter which of the 2. Which occurs because it’s both. Duh. I don’t know why I didn’t see that before. Flicker states.
