Spoilers for 100 years quest so uh. You've been warned.

Ok so I was looking for those old character refs that Mashima used to put in chapters that had name, age, magic, likes and dislikes and I couldn't find Rogue's for some reason so I ended up on TVTropes and started looking through the characters and ended up on Laxus.

So now I'm hysterical because what the actual fuck.

I was aware that he removed his lacrima as I'd seen the picture floating around but first of all, the guy full on ripped it out himself.

Obviously it meant he wouldn't die since his opponent was trying to kill him if he didn't do that but that had to hurt like a bitch.

But also he ate Alexion's soul to get his slaying abilities back.

So he isn't second gen any more because he doesn't have a lacrima anymore and he isn't 1st or 3rd since he wasn't trained by Alexion. He isn't fourth since they weren't human, they were machines given dragon slayer properties(Dragon cry) and he isn't 5th because he didn't physically eat the flesh of a dragon, just the soul.

So does that make Laxus a new 6th generation of dragon slayer. And is Alexion's soul actually dead or will this be like Wendy with Irene and Laxus is just gonna have this dragon talking to him randomly.

Also also, is Laxus now the lightning dragon king like how Natsu was given the mantel by Igneel or does Kiren hold that title as he was the one to kill Alexion.

Its implied that dragon titles are passed on to the ones that kill them as Acnologia killed to get his title and then said that Natsu would be the next king or he'd make a good king or something that I don't remember exactly. So does it apply to dragon eaters as well since they are dragon slayers.

I am still hopeful that Cobra, Sting and Rogue will show up (Probably unlikely as they have no reason to be in another country at this point in time since he isn't in Fairy tail and that's the reason Gajeel and Laxus were able to pop in and get so much attention (I mean backstory for Laxus' lacrima and him becoming a new generation and Gajeel fighting God Serena (even if it isn't him) is pretty good all things considered) but I really want them to appear because they also have lacrima so it would be cool to get maybe one more case of a dragon eater causing a lacrima to exist or even just get more info on the dragons that their lacrimas came from (because it is also now canon that the souls do cry out for their hearts so there is at least 3 other dragon souls out their trying to find their hearts if they haven't faded by then) and I just really want more screen time for them. Firstly I love Rogue's new outfit and want to see more, second I want to make fun of Sting's because his fashion sense is awful, third I am desperate for more canon Cobra content because he is used so little and it disheartens me (Cobra has had the oracion seiz and Kotsh arcs to be a villian, the dragon king festival to be a reluctant ally(non-perma death included), the tartarous arc to change his tune(even if Jellal giving them no choice but to listen to him or they go back to prison makes me feel uncomfortable. Just let them be free at last dammit), the Alveraz arc (which we don't get to see him fight August just that sorcier lost) and half of the Rhodonite spin off manga (Which some if not a majority of people haven't even read the three spin offs and if you haven't then you should because they are amazing and hilarious and I wish they made one for Cobra because the potential that was their because all three of the books had two stories so one could focus on his time in the seiz or a short section about his reflection in prison or something and the other his time in crime Sorciere as they all have at least 1 story set during Fairy tail's disbandment) so if we got more Cobra screentime I would cry and sing to the skies.

Besides, if we don't get anything about their lacrimas then no one is stopping me from doing it myself. (I'm still debating if I want to do a sequel when I'm finished 'the bringer of death and the apocolypse' that follows 100 year quest although I have thought about it and have a few ideas because I have in fact planned how this story ends roughly, just a couple things that may change between then and now) After all, every dragon slayer is prominent in this au........ eventually

Well I went on a real long tangent here. Oops. I wasn't joking when I said I have no one to talk to about this because the like 3 friends I have either aren't interested in the series or don't want to put in so much time to watch over 300 episodes.

Warren-Eli/ Samuel relationship and Eli is at Hostel what Sinu was for Big deal

Regarding the last chapters of Lookism, I was still curious about the dynamic of Eli-Warren and Samuel relationship.

I have already made a comment about how Eli and Samuel past was similar concerning domestic abuses and family and how it affected theirs lives. It also came to my mind that both Eli and Samuel share a deep self hatred for themselves.

(How dare they mistreated them 😡😡)

There is the symbolic change of hair of Eli, looking the same as 3 years ago, meaning the regression of himself.

After the tragedy of Hostel, Eli run away with Yenna and managed to take care of her, while working and studying. He was clearly loved and respected by everyone in the school and didn’t cause any problems. He was also befriending Crystal who cheered him up about being a responsible father for Yenna. In a way, his life and guilt were improving… if it wasn’t for the 4 crews he didn’t even want to be part of.

I was a bit skeptical about Samuel reaction when Eli was introduced as the 5th affiliate.. We can think it is about his inferiority complex and Gun’s favouritism for Eli - which is right for a part - but it can also be a surprise about how Eli is acting cold, bolt and clearly aggressive, when as say above, Eli was improving himself.

To me, the (deep) main theme of this arc is “sacrifice for family”.

In chap 406, Samuel said something interesting: “it is romance when you do it, but it is adultery when someone do it to you”.

And when I read ✨ Romance ✨, I think about the absolute romantic boi : Sinu.

And when you think about it, Sinu and Eli did the same thing: they sold themselves to the genius of dumbass aka Eugene in order to save theirs families. But if it something that Samuel knows, it is how Sinu was treated and became while being in the fight ring. And I personally think he cared at least a little for Sinu (otherwise, why even go see him) and for Big Deal (why would he join big deal?).

Thus, in addition to having similar childhood, they also have a history of someone sacrificing themselves for the sake of others. And both of them was coerced by Gun and Sinu. And I think it could be the reason why Samuel felt so disgusted by Eli’s plan: Eli becoming Gun, the person who destroyed so much lives, including Big Deal and Hostel.

And I find it pretty interesting, because they could actually become allies. I mean Samuel knows how destructive it is to be in Eli’s place, he saw it with Sinu, and thus, they share a similar history. I also admit that the scene in the car reminded me the scene with goo and Logan.

And yes Samuel is emotionally dumb so of course he can’t communicate without picking a fight and being harsh, which is more stupid since clearly Eli is not in the mood for that.

Samuel needs closure with Gun/Dad and Eli needs to know how much he is being manipulated and guilt tripped.

Clearly, sending Samuel overseeing Eli Was the worst idea from Eugene.

Shinichiro's first love was the next door highschool yankee onee-san. He was in 3rd year elementary.

Akane became friends with Shinichiro after finding him beaten up in a playground. More like she was offering him a band-aid and just then takeomi arrived (from somewhere??) and very gruffly asked her what she was doing and shin interrupting him said, "No no she's a nice girl! We're friends!!" And ever since that declaration they became friends.

Shin had keizo dress up as santa for the kids' Christmas party.

Senju took a photo with him back then and still keeps it with her. She knows Santa doesn't exists but she says "that santa was really nice. If Santa was real I think he'd be like that."

Senju still doesn't know that was keizo and whenever he sees that picture his heart just melts.

Senju and Mikey as kids loved stomping over dry leaves, competing who can make the "loudest crunch". Baji even had a special move. Haru : "how childish".

Senju still does that. Mikey doesn't notice but he does it too.

Wakasa has a ring collection.

He also knows embroidery.

Senju sometimes asks wakasa to do her hair.

Yk when takemitchi was hospitalized after being almost beaten to death by Mikey? It wasn't koko who called Hina. Senju did. Senju narrated the whole incident, profusely apologising too, and Hina consoled her even thanking her for looking after Mitchy. They're good friends now ^^

The first time koko and inupi met the 1st gen BDs (through Akane) koko's first thought was, "my competition is them??". It's safe to assume he felt threatened by wakasa. Poor wakasa didn't understand why the smaller was glaring at him.

Koko has a cat's tongue.

Inupi doesn't haven't a cat's tongue, he just doesn't like hot food. Except ramen. He'll down piping hot ramen in no time.

After the BD arc yuzuha came upto him to talk away their bad blood. Inupi was seriously confused, still controlled his sharp tongue and made friends with her. Girl just wanted to take him shopping.

Hakkai has a Mitsuya scrapbook. Yeah no surprise there.

Once Mana and Luna had Mitsuya act as the bad guy and Hakkai was the prince but Hakkai couldn't play his role properly because, "I can't hit Taka-chan even if it's a game!"

Luna and Mana sure get that attitude due to Mitsuya's teachings, but yk who made them Divas? Hannah Montana.

Baji and Tora babysitting Luna and Mana. They weren't that bad surprisingly. Mostly because the girls loved dolling up the elder boys while they patiently sat and listened to all the blackmail material they were gaining. Who knew kids know all your secrets.

Baji is an honorary sano. He was there when Emma had her first period. He was there when Mikey broke his first bone. He was there preparing for Shinichiro's surprise birthday party breaking almost all the furniture in the house.

Kazutora, king of short power naps. Short being 4hour long.

Hakkai with long hair is very popular in highschool. It kinda irks chifuyu. Hakkai thought chifuyu was jealous because the girls weren't flocking around him, in truth, long haired Hakkai reminds fuyu of Baji.

After the whole "it was the first time I ever respected someone" incident, Chifuyu ranted about Baji to his mother.

His mother was concerned at first but weeks later she started noticing the good changes in her son and decided Baji was a good influence.

The next day she saw Baji getting scolded by his mom. That's when the moms became friends.

Chifuyu watched hairstyle tutorials on YouTube. In case Baji was interested.

Smiley is not very fond of the idea of Angry hanging out with the idiot trio. it's better if their stupidity doesn't rub off on his younger brother.

Angry likes berry flavoured desserts.

Peh third-wheeled atleast the first four dates of pah-chin. She was Pah's childhood friend (the one he gets married to) so she understood Peh's actions. She hinted to him that it was a date so he should leave them alone. But it's peh we're talking about.

She was so sure peh would third-wheel their wedding too.

Mitsuya's solution to peh's third-wheeling? He forced him to spend time with Yasuda-san.

Yuzuha was in the flower arrangement club in highschool and got obsessed with flowers and their meanings. She helps Mitsuya with choosing patterns when he needs to convey certain feelings or message through his work.

Hina and Emma would model for him too and help out in any other way possible.

Emma bought Hina some sexy lingerie. Hina couldn't look into takemitchi's eyes for a whole week.

Extremely difficult for Draken to keep up his tsun-tsun attitude whenever Emma sends him a picture of her wearing one of Mitsuya's dresses.

Draken learnt how to cook all of Emma's favourites.

Hanma knows how to cook too. His idea of a romantic date is candlelight dinner (with a single candle. A burning car will do too.) And his homemade spaghetti and meatballs. It's his dream to do the famous lady and the tramp scene.

Kisaki knows the kanji to almost every word.

Hanma asked him the kanji for masturbation. Kisaki: disgusted.

Smiley and Mitsuya have the highest spice tolerance in Toman.

Who has a higher spice tolerance? Rindou.

Rindou adds chilli oil to almost everything he eats.

Rindou is also the cleaner Haitani. He's also more concious about his hair than his older brother and has a very thorough skincare routine.

Ran does take pride in his hair, but according to him his naturally lustrous hair only need beer shampoo. That's enough.

Shion is actually very sweet to children though they normally don't approach him themselves.

Shion never wins at the summer festival games and ends up threatening the stall owner out of frustration. He lets go easily because there are lots of people around.

Mochi has a pet Pomeranian.

Mochi is also very respectful to elders and women. The kind of guy who'd help someone cross the street.

Izana spent his time reading philosophical books and would often ask kakucho for his opinions by giving him a hypothetical situation.

Kakucho likes fish.

In bonten, whenever Sanzu would get high just before a meeting or something serious. Koko would make him listen to conspiracy theory podcasts, hand him a notebook and pen and leave him alone. Sanzu would sit quietly after that.

Ran low-key despises takeomi for being a negligent older brother and tries to show brotherly affection to Sanzu from time to time.

His crazy ass makes it difficult.

Sanzu admitted to what he did to Mucho when he was high. He was hallucinating and talking to himself. Since then, people give Sanzu privacy whenever he's high.

Which led to him trying to swallow a goldfish.

Kakucho once brought Mikey dorayaki even without him asking for it and all of bonten executives swear they saw faint stars in those obsidian eyes for the first time in years.

Kakucho has one of Izana's earrings in a beautiful velvet box with a picture of them and a picture of tenjiku higher ups. Ran once found it, just smiled softly and never let out a peep.

Quick thoughts on the chapter

Inupi asking the real questions and once again we got no answer: Wakui please give us the flashback we deserve. Also, poor Inupi, it’s so sad he has to fight his senpai from 1st Gen Black Dragon

Koko having gay panic but not in that sense 

No but seriously, I want to see what Koko will do now, his expression is heartbreaking 💔 he’s so worried for Inui and he knows it’s unfair for him to fight the people he looks up to. I guess what will follow will depend on what is the deal with Waka and Benkei, it they are actually with KMG or are double agents and are actually on Toman’s side. Lore on Waka and Benkei (and Black Dragon from the good old days) is welcomed.

I hope that whatever happens will lead to the emotional conversation Koko and Inupi need to have and maybe some flashback from both their POVs 

I’m so sorry for Senju, she was trying her best but it’s clear Haru doesn’t care to listen to her. I hope it’s not over like that between the 2 of them, they are family and they need a closure. I actually enjoyed how Wakui ended the Black Dragon arc because we don’t see Yuzuha and Hakkai becoming besties with Taiju, he leaves them alone and thanks God after everything he did to them, but it’s a realistic closure, no forced redemption and no forceful forgiveness from the victims of the abuser. That’s why i hope Wakui give us a satisfying resolution with these siblings as well, including Takeomi. It’s weird he’s nowhere to be seen when he perfectly knows his siblings and his friends Waka and Benkei are all fighting.

Since the whole “my King” thing + toy airplane flashback, Sanzu gave me the vibes of that kind of villain you see sometimes that has an unhealthy attachment to his master (in this case Mikey) where they are extremely loyal to them even if the’ve been abused. We still don’t have the whole context about the situation, so maybe this is headcanon territory and I may be wrrong, but once again, I need to know.

Regardless, while I’m enjoying these chapters, Wakui is not giving us answers, important answers, but he can’t drag the thing forever. Hoping we’ll get the answers we need soon

The Boyz - Checkmate (Other version I watched)

Aight. Y'all knew this was coming and we are here now. We are HERE. NOW.

God okay let's start first with the literal opening shot. Remember Danger? Round one? Swinging pocket watch, the hat?? The flashy costumes, the confidence?? YEAH DUDES BRING IT BACK!! And not only that but they connected it to Reveal and Quasi una fantastia. Once again guys, we stan continuity. Literal story arc.

The conscious decision to start with Younghoon who ended Quasi. The conscious decision to have the barren tree burst into full bloom, only to melt into the fiery background of Reveal. Juyeon's entrance with the crown that he took back at the end of Reveal. Continuing on to Q who had the crown stolen from him at the beginning of Reveal, having him take it back and open the performance with a small solo dance as he did in Danger. (Side note, that ripple stop effect with the backup dancers? Beautiful.) I know Q did the jump off in Sword of Victory but Sunwoo did the major stunt in Danger and just that pass off, including all the elements. I'm screaming!!

Climbing up the staircase to the shadow screen throne was a beautiful touch. I've complained about this before with other groups and I've praised TBZ time and time again for this but their story building and concept execution is probably the best I've ever seen. I think a lot of 4th gen groups tend to struggle with creating cohesive story lines but TBZ does it really well. I wouldn't say flawlessly but as performances, excellent job.

I'm a tiny bit puzzled as to why Sunwoo fell from there but (theory time) I could see it as a fall from grace and then Checkmate being a struggle to reclaim the crown again. Kind of like how they fell from 1st place in round 3 and now this live round is their stake in clawing their way back up to Kingdom again.

The backup dancers were on! point! I know in the other performance I watched (linked above), TBZ did everything themselves but in this case they obviously couldn't do that. So having the backup dancers create that tension with the stop and go choreo was a good decision. I loved their costumes as well! All black but still fitting with the theme, the hats particularly got me to think like ah, this is royalty.

Sunwoo is such a performer holy shiiiiit. Facial expressions on point! I loved the kind of gothic hallways the LED screen had on. Checkmate is a darker song than any of the ones they did before. Danger and Reveal are both exciting, energetic songs whereas Quasi was really beautiful and not gentle necessary but passionate? But anyways Checkmate starts in a minor piano progression and the LED screen change just served to bolster that feeling.

Three-way chess hehe. I wonder how you play that? Did y'all know there's like a 5 dimension time travelling chess game on Steam? Physics folks are scary.

Juyeon's complete freeze when Hyunjae has his line is incredible. Same with Hyunjae when Juyeon starts singing again! The discipline!

YOOOO okay I had to rewatch the performance for this part but if you look carefully on the chessboard, it looks like none of the three sides have their king piece!! I was drawn to that when Younghoon says Check your king, like okay!! Go off!! They just know for a fact that people like me exist who scrutinize every detail dhjkf

Sunwoo looks so clean in his lines and his dance. Kevin being pushed around is both hilarious and also impactful because his line is I ain't never satisfied, and the image + vocal cue brings up the image of both a spoiled royal and also an ambitious one. They just flipped the table for Hyunjae to stand on so I'm like. What happened to the pieces?? Lmao, they probably just shoved them off to some backup dancers or smth but that was funny to me.

I like their continued use of swords as well. TBZ used a katana for their 90 sec performance but obviously with this performance being more medieval, makes total sense to have more European style long swords.

Since Checkmate is obviously a chess term, they did a complete chess royalty concept and I adored it. The costumes are everything, I love the detailing in the beading and chains! The split between black and white! Silver accents!!

Their chorus dance was so good, aughghghgh.

Once again, the backup dancer army. Just. Wonderful additions to creating the world of the performance. And again, similarly to Kevin on the chair, Sunwoo on the chair being lifted like a palanquin just continues to reinforce the idea that they're the best, above everyone else. Sunwoo commands the soldiers (dancers), tells them to go this way or that. He is the king and there's no question about it.

Sangyeon, Q, Jacob and Eric. Please. My heart. One thing about this section, I love that they really used the full extent of the stage. They didn't hesitate to use the audience stands too, which I think most groups would be too scared to consider. (I also wonder if it's an intimidation tactic lol. Did you see ONF's E-Tion and Wyatt?? Jaw: dropped) When Jacob and Eric are doing the sword fight, the lights flipping was really interesting because it reminded me of how you can see light reflected off metal when it clashes but also it gave me a vague illusion of fighting while darting between shadows, half blind, chasing each other??

YES PLEASE LIFT NEW UP HES IS BEST BOI. Continued appreciation of backup dancers. I know they did this so everyone could move into the next position which is why I think it's fine. But overall, even though I appreciate the dancers and think they're amazing, I always feel a little questionable when it's just the backup dancers doing something on stage. Personal nitpick though.

THE BOX. THE FUCKING BOX. DUDE MINATURE SCALE IT AND HAVING THE BLACK AND WHITE KINGS INSIDE?? AND THEN!! ON STAGE!! THE BIG BOX!! TRAPPING JUYEON AND HYUNJAE!! BITCH PLEASE!! WHAT THE FUCK HOW DO YOU THINK OF THIS!! I loved that they included a ribbon to "force" the two together in a struggle, and just artistically from a dance perspective it's pretty bomb. It restricts the kind of movements you can make so they did a beautiful job of going back and forth in a literal confined space, tied together. The perspective of the walls of the box also gave a really neat illusion of endless hallways on all sides, like they're in an infinite space. I loved it. So much.

Small thing but the confetti being the same dark color as the walls. Good shit.

Facial expressions ON POINT while walking through the salute. The aggression, the glower. Jacob especially looked really cool and intimidating and sexy?

Yeets chess piece. Jokes aside, that's a good impactful ending, and the continued messages on screen behind them just. Ugh. Literally so good. So. Good. Continued emphasis on the moon, on being kings. Having the army in front in formation like a crown. TBZ standing so tall.

I don't even think I really have any complaints about this performance. It's just that good. Everything was amazing.

2020 Backlog Progress in Retrospect

2020 was the year of finally finishing the backlog. The final game ended up being Disco Elysium back on July 1st but in the months since I’ve built up a list again. Going forward I’m hoping to keep the backlog at 10 games or less since I’ve found I do like having a wider list of games to choose from after finishing something. After finishing over 100 games in 2020 there were a ton of classics that I finished for the first time, so many so that making a top 20 list was very difficult. I’ve always made this end of year breakdowns for my own archives but I thought it would be fun to share it this year alongside the full list of what I finished!

Favorite game of 2020: Sakura Wars

When I was looking back at this year, the game that stuck the most with me was easily the original Sakura Wars for the Sega Saturn. Back in December of 2019 the english patch released online and I was so excited to finally be able to play the first entry in one of Sega’s biggest franchises for the first time. I had yet to play any games in the series beyond just fumbling around an import copy of various games on Saturn and Dreamcast and I was glad to be able to experience it with such a well-made fan patch. It’s a very simple strategy game mixed in with lite RPG and Dating mechanics but there’s such a great charm to how well everything mixes together. The way they mix in the animated cutscenes throughout each chapter make it feel like you’re playing a classic mid 90′s anime and it was just a nice cozy experience the whole way. I managed to play through it twice this year and tinkered around with later entrees in the series but I’m hopeful that the sequel will get picked up as a fan translation project soon, otherwise I’ll probably be going through those games the old fashioned way with a printed out GameFAQS guide at my side.

What if?

First of, this post is 5 months late. Everything has been said and done, everyone might have moved on, the petitions signed, the criticisms raised and awards given but honestly, I’ve been following this series for 3 years, can anyone blame me if I am having a hard time moving on? The anger has already subsided but then it comes back full force if I see anything remotely related to GOT. All the lost potential gone in 6 episodes so I offer my own ending (This is how I’ll remember it as, because I will never give up on it)

I’ve never read the books but I do know a few things (reddit helped with that) so just a few things that I would be fixing:

Jaime (Listen, if Jaime stayed with Brienne, he is redeemed yes, but he will forever go down in history as the oathbreaker so I like the idea he returned to Cersei to redeem himself, not because he loves her but because he want to prove he does keep his oath)

Also, I’m not going into detail how each episode will turn out and how dramatically shown, just covering the main points.

Dany and Jon’s arrival in Winterfell: Its the same as ep01, they are greeted by Sansa, Arya and Jon reunites, Bran warns them that the Army of the dead is on the march. Jaime arrives in Winterfell (and does the nasty with Brienne, earlier than expected). At this point, Bran is already in the pressure of trying to salvage the future (because he knows how it all ends) He knows that the combined army of Dany and the North is not enough to defeat the NK (he also knows Cersei has no plans to help) so he does what he can, he goes back to the past thinking he could alter the present (but obvs can’t because “the ink is dry”). He also explains to them what NK wants, to reset history, to erase the memories of mankind, him, to allow the white walkers and wights a place to fully inhabit.

Bran: Goes back to the past 

(1st attempt)  He tried to warn Aerys about the impending doom, but instead cause him to go mad thus the ‘Burn them all’ scene, Meera found out about it and warned him not to interfere with the past but Bran does not listen, she left but before she does, she warns Sansa vaguely to watch over her brother (Sansa takes the caution seriously).*This happens before the army arrives in winterfell* 

(2nd attempt) Bran tried again, thinking maybe he needed to go further, he went back to the time of Bran the Builder, trying to find out how the early gen defeated the army of the dead, he instead helped make the wall. This attempt obvs failed again because the NK had destroyed the wall in the present. *This happens before the war in Winterfell and after the war council* 

(3) All else fails, he decided to go to the root of it all, to the creation of the NK, which surprise, he fails to stop as well. At this point he realizes the ink is dry and the future is already guaranteed. *This happens during the war in Winterfell, in which he awakes in all the chaos. Anyway, more on that later*

Jon’s parentage: So, all parties are preparing for combat, same strategy, same bobby traps. The truth about Jon is revealed by Sam (the revelation happens the same way, after Dany revealed she killed both Sam’s father and brother). They both tried to keep it hush hush for now, until Jon sorts out what to do with the info which sadly, didn’t happen because Varys found out about it (because he is Varys), he shared the info with Tyrion, they go fact checking and when they were sure they intended to deliver the news to Dany, (Varys believe that the North intends to keep this info to use against Dany bcoz the North doesn’t like her but Tyrion thinks Jon would not betray Dany) She was in her room, sad because Jon has been cold to her recently and she still mourns the ‘death of her Viserion�� (I think she never properly mourned for that)

Dany: (remembers the prophecy in the House of the Undying) Three treasons will you know. Once for blood (the witch), once for gold (Jorah, at this point his also in the room, ashamed), and once for love. (Dany starts to doubt Jon)

but before it was revealed, the horn for the impending war signals the enemies arrival so the convo was cut short.

Battle of Winterfell: So the battle still ensues as planned, despite all the risen issues. Melisandre sneaked into the camp (lets erase her magical entrance shall we? its pretty much nonsense) Let’s just say she sneaked in someway because she said so herself “I will die in a foreign land”. So the army of the dead march on, the Dothraki stays in place and they clash in the battle field. So Melisandre has tried to light up the trenches but still they are overpowered and so Winterfell is invaded. At this point, the NK is present and has an all out war with Dany/Drogon Jon/Rhaegal. So we get our first casualties: Edd, Sam (yes, its not a real battle if casualties are not heavy loses), Davos (saving the small girl in the crypt), Jorah (in the same fashion as he did), Lyanna (in the same badass way ofc). The invasion of the crypts happen, which brings casualties as well: Gilly, baby Sam, Missandei (I didn’t want her dying in chains okay?). 

The Aerial battle of the three dragons ensues, as I said earlier, Dany/Drogo and Jon/Rhaegal went for an all out war against the NK it was an intense battle, the NK targeted Jon and Rhaegal specifically which left the dragon badly wounded, Jon is unseated and fell out of the sky, falling on Winterfell. Dany was about to follow but NK attacked Drogo which draws Dany back to him and this cause her to attack, by this time, the NK fell on Winterfell. Dany flew down to check on Jon and Rhaegal, the dragon is shown heavily wounded and Jon was nowhere to be seen. NK arrives here and Drogo flew down and blow fire on him, after revealing that NK can’t be burned this is when he raised his arms so the dead wights returned to attack Drogo which causes the dragon to fly away unseating Dany, We see Rhaegal being surrounded and mounted by wights, Dany watches in horror until she hears the NK walking towards her, she is trapped both sides and she sees Jon sneaking up behind the NK, and NK effectively shields his attack, by this time, Rhaegal senses his mother is in danger blows fire on the NK in effort to save his mama. Dany (not yet knowing about Jon’s parentage screams in horror as she believes Jon as dead) her sound attracted wights which starts to run towards her, she fell on the ground where wights attack her and Jorah comes to the rescue and everything else follows. Dany and Jorah runs to safety and the dragon queen desperately looks back for any sign of Jon all she saw was the NK was gone and Rhaegal flew away, too far to notice if someone was riding him. This is the part where NK and Jon arises from the flames unharmed (maybe half naked idk, but some resemblance of damage same with Dany) they then went on an all out sword fight, NK obvs using the wights to escape Jon and runs towards Viserion to fly away, he successfully did and Jon was left with too many enemies and this is where Beric arrives to help him. They fight and Beric sacrifices himself so that Jon can reach Rhaegal to fly and find the NK.

At this point Arya has a certain White Walker eager to kill her (like NK’s second in command) the library sequence still plays out and the hound saves her, they meet Melisandre and she reminds Arya of her prophecy, (green eyes, brown eyes and blue eyes). Arya and Melisandre knew that the battle is lost and that there is only one way to end it, burn Winterfell to the ground because at this point, the white walkers were all over the place. Arya, the hound and Melisandre set out a plan. Arya took Beric’s face (found sometime in the battlefield, this is out the castle already, she and the hound gave their respects to the man) to lose the White Walker after her. The hound and Arya tried to evacuate the people. 

The White walkers were looking for Bran who is near the heart tree, currently in the past. Sansa, at this point is running for survival, Tyrion at her side, she runs to her brother and Theon is there protecting Bran (He saved her sister Yara and returned to Winterfell to fight for the Starks) but the wights were outnumbering them and Theon was at the disadvantage when a wight was about to kill Sansa, Jaime and Brienne comes to the rescue. All three of the knights are protecting three civilians. Ultimately, Arya catch up to them. Melisandre gave the signal and started to burn Winterfell and all the wights, white walkers and herself in it. Sansa cries in horror seeing her home burned to the ground, Arya holds her back. Bran looks into the flames in Winterfell as they are running away, he sees White Walkers looking at him.

Battle’s Aftermath: So everyone at this point has evacuated to the Riverlands, to the Tullys. Dany and Sansa being the leaders left went to check for the casualties. Dany lost almost 50% of her forces, she also learned of the death of Missandei and ofc Jorah (who protected her ‘till his last breath). This came as a huge shock to her especially that her dragon Rhaegal (badly wounded) is nowhere to be seen and is assumed to have died. Tyrion sent scouts to see the damage of Winterfell and there was nothing but ruins and fragments of wights, they assume this means victory but they have been beaten and they have nowhere to run. Sansa sent word to the Vale for reinforcements, a place for shelter but she does not get a reply, Dany does the same to the Greyjoys and no reply which infuriates her more. She turns her rage to Tyrion who promised her his sister’s forces but did not show up, her mistrust on her advisers intensifies and Jon being lost in the scene adds fuel to her rage. Tyrion, out of options sends his brother Jaime to send a message to Cersei (because they have no one else to contact in westeros, everyone else is either not available or in war with them and he is very much aware that they are in dire need of help. Also, Jaime and Brienne have a moment where he tells her he needs to leave, that things would have been completely different if he decided to be a good man from the start. Brienne in tears lets him go saying, “Go to your Queen and this time, keep your oath.) Tyrion tries to send word to her sister to open the gates of King’s Landing for the battleworn men who protected the Kingdom, Qyburn welcomes Jaime and receives the message and passes it on Cersei and the Queen celebrates on her victory having cornered the Targaryen queen. She sends back an ultimatum, she will open the gates for these people if the Dragon Queen comes to King’s Landing and bends the knee. Jaime is infuriated with this decision trying to reason with her but Cersei tries to persevere. Dany was enrage upon knowing Tyrion sent a message without her consent and as well as the demand of the Queen. Varys, seeing the outcome knows that Dany will give up on any peaceful resolution and decided to spread the news of Jon’s parentage to turn the tides on Dany, thinking this will allow the young queen to retreat back to Essos and save the people of King’s Landing in her fury. Dany calls on the remaining troops intent to attack KL but Sansa refuse to let her men join her conquest, Dany demands why and Sansa refutes that they have lost enough blood and their very home, her people deserves rest and she denies her of the North’s support on her claim to the throne, she informs her of Jon’s lineage and that the North supports Jon’s claim. Dany was heartbroken and mad upon knowing this (she later revisits her last memory of Rhaegal flying off, entertaining the idea that Jon did not burn because of his Tragaryen lineage) Later, Greyworm informs her that it was Varys who spread the word. Tyrion tries to calm her saying that they can still rally the North to their side because Jon could be dead (making her claim strong again), this struck a cord on Dany because if Jon had been dead then that means her son Rhaegal is as well. She orders Greyworm to send word to Daario Naharis to rally her troops in Essos and attack KL from behind (on the side facing the waters where Euron Greyjoys fleet maybe waiting). She reenergizes her remaining forces and the Tullys (who reclaimed the Riverlands from the Freys after Arya’s massacre) agreed to send them off with whatever they need but will not take part in the fight in KL, Dany honors this word and moved her forces near KL where they will regroup but she threatens Sansa that as soon as she has her throne, she will not give mercy to anyone who questions her claim, she says this to the remaining troops while torching Varys alive. (The Hound and Arya sneaks out from camp and joins the Targaryen army to the KL, Arya leaves Sansa and Bran to Theon and Brienne’s care)

Jon:  So Jon? Jon and Rhaegal fell on the land beyond the wall when they lost sight of the NK. Jon assessed the damage on Rhaegal and on himself, pondering on the idea of his parentage, the dragon is heavily wounded. Then, later when he was trying to keep himself warm, he saw a certain cave filled with roots. The door was covered by a skeleton that seem to belong from a very large man (Hodor), he entered the place and that’s when he saw remains of the children of the forest. He held onto the roots and he was able to see what Bran has been seeing with his crows, the attack on Winterfell was simply a diversion. After the burning of Winterfell, the people was too complacent that they have won, NK took this as an opportunity to send some wights on the borders of the Vale thru Viserion. The Vale being unprepared from the attack was defeated and that is why there was no reply to Sansa, the Vale has been swarming with Wights, ice covered the land. Jon woke up from the vision, alarmed, he should warn the others. He went back to Rhaegal surrounded by black crows, Rhaegal’s eyes turned white (similar way if Bran wargs into something) and the dragon begins to flap its wings.(Basically what the three eyed raven told Bran “You will never walk again but you will fly) Jon rides Rhaegal again heading to the Riverlands. Consequently, Bran (before warging to Rhaegal) warns his sister to hide, in here we see everyone visibly cold (signifying the wights are getting near again but they don’t know that). Theon offers to leave but Sansa refuses saying she belongs with her people, she orders Theon to take Bran where he needs to be and the Greyjoy promise to guard him with his life. Theon and Bran leaves and Bran says goodbye to her sister, she smiles sadly and as soon as Theon and Bran had left miles away. Chaos can be heard from the Tully castles, the last thing we see is Sansa looking back at the door and Brienne preparing her sword to fight. Here we see Gendry, Tormund, Podrick fighting but soon the white walkers.

KL attack: Dany receives news from Essos that Daario and company already head out to KL for reinforcements and are expected to arrive soon. Tyrion is sent out of camp to fend for himself and pleads for Dany to think about the people of KL but she refuses. Her armies are already infront of KL and she rides Drogo into the sunlight. The golden company aides Cersei and then an all out fight. Euron aides the fleet and later attacked by Daario’s group, Euron is killed by Daario. Bronn is also in the battlefield manning the scorpion, he tries to hit drogo but fails, later, Dany burns him alive with a number of Lannister armies, this also effectively opens the gates to her army, meeting with troops from Essos, KL is massacred, Cersei seeing this intends to escape with Jaime, Qyburn and the mountain escorts her and this is where the Hound meet the Mountain, the same as the episode, the mountian kills Qyburn and Cleganebowl ensues, it also ends the same way, with both brothers dying. Dany targets the castle and intends to burn Cersei alive (she DOES NOT go burning KL, just the castle where Cersei is because of her hatred towards her but doesn’t stop innocent people still killed.) Cersei tries to escape the falling boulders but she suddenly feels her stomach in great pain, Jaime stops to see to her and blood was dripping from her legs. Jaime tries to carry her out to safety while boulders fall to them. Cersei pleads him to get her to safety and that she is his queen, Jaime tells her harshly that it was the only reason he was there, because he swore an oath. Cersei bleeds out from the failed pregnancy and all we saw was the castle crumbling.

The Beginning of the End: Dany looks around and see her armies overwhelming the Lannister army. Her heart feels heavy with all the destruction but she steels herself for it is necessary to reclaim her home. She looks at the Red Keep, she sees the people below in panic and running, she feels destruction around her and she begins to doubt her route of action until she hears a familiar growl, she looks toward the gates of KL and sees Viserion heading towards them. Viserion breathes ice fire on KL, annihilating the armies below including Greyworm. Dany urges Drogo to fight back and the two dragons fight. We see shots below of knights and people alike, fighting wights but being overpowered, the ground freezes and the air becomes cold. Slowly, the castles and roads are covered in ice. Wights and White walkers continue to enter the city. We come back to Jon who is desperately looking for where his family is, he flies over to Winterfell and saw the place burned down to the ground, just remnants of wights and people alike, they continue to fly towards the Riverlands believing that the people might have evacuated, an ongoing fight was there, he swooped down to help but Bran/Rhaegal refuses, he forces the dragon attempting to jump down but the dragon relents, swooping down with fire, he is rejoined by Tormund in the battle. They talk briefly, Tormund tells him that he knows how to end the war and that he will hold the fort here. Jon asks him to find his sisters and protect them Tormund promises and forces Jon back to Rhaegal’s back. Tormund is seen shortly to rejoin with Brienne, Podrick and Sansa with a sword fighting back the wights.

Final Battle: Dany and NK continues the midair fight, toppling over castles and building killing civilians and wights alike. Drogo is heavily wounded and so is Viserion. Dany keeps on fighting until the NK somehow sensed something and retreated back. We see a horse galloping its way to KL with Theon on the back and a carriage carrying a Bran who is currently warging Rhaegal. The horses crashes and toppling over with Theon, the Greyjoy stands up, picks his sword and continues fighting the slowly swarming wights and white walkers. It did not help his case because the NK is now flying over them. He dismounts Viserion and Viserions flies back to fight Drogo on his heels. NK slowly approaches the Theon who is fighting valiantly but is stabbed repeatedly but keeps on standing up. During this moment we see Rhaegal flying on top speed to reach KL as soon, as he does, Bran opens his eyes and Rhaegal loses balance and Jon falls with him. Rhaegal’s body lands on the wights attacking a poor Theon and they are squashed. At this point, Bran takes a breather and he sees Theon look back at him despite all his accumulated wounds, he tells him “You’re a good man Theon” and Theon smiles and grabs his sword one last time and turns to fight only the NK to stabs him in the stomach. Bran looks at the NK and slowly approaching the three eyed raven and when he was about to touch him, Jon jumps to intercept him. They have an all out fight from here. Dany at this point has dismounted Drogo as her only son is already severley injured, consequently they landed on the open rooftop where the Iron Throne is. She sees Viserion flying far away and she gets a real chance to look around the destruction that was made all because they never listened to the real threat. She looks at the Iron throne she thinks long and hard if all of this was worth sitting on it. She is injured and she limps towards it. She can hear wights and a few survivors fighting, she walks towards it and a white walker sees her, its slowly approaches her as she limps towards the throne and she fights back as best as she can but was defeated and was stabbed on the back reaching out for the iron throne. Drogo burns the White walker in retaliation. So the battle ensues, Drogo mourns for his mother. NK summons Viserion back and he rides towards him. Jon not giving up pursues him by heading on top of the castle for Drogo to ride on (at this point he is owning his Targaryen heritage). He reaches the top and hears Drogo’s sad mourning and sees Daenerys on the floor reaching out for the throne. He runs towards her and is suprised when suddenly she stands up with blue eyes ready to attack him, Jon with all his emotion killed her again and lays her body sitting on the throne. Drogo roars as Viserion flies behind Jon and burns him. Arya (surprise she is still alive and still gets her moment) climbs onto Viserion and topples the NK over. She screams for Jon who she thought is burned for good. Now we will see an epic reveal that TADA! Jon is not burned and further cements the idea he is a Targaryen and this also, suprises him. (I know, its Viserion’s flame but just because its blue, doesn’t mean its not natural fire, its still fire just blue. Also, I know the clothes get burn too but imagine Jon fighting naked? not that epic so maybe only his upper garments or half of his upper clothes? Just enough to show he doesn’t burn) So the fight ensues only Arya is added to the mix. Drogo goes for one last stand, like Arya + Drogo defeats Viserion, like beast vs beast battle while Arya stabs everywhere she could reach and also wards the other white walkers in the place. (I just wanted a chance for Jon to see how Arya is good in combat also, a scene where Jon forces/pleads Arya to leave and save herself but in Arya fashion doesn’t like to) So in the end, Viserion dies falling and Drogo roars (like Kingkong vs the t-rex hehe). Arya goes to help Jon only to be surrounded by Wights and white walkers alike. She fights valiantly and sadly, dies. This was Jon’s final motivation to fully defeat the NK, so intense music and suspense, they fight one on one and Drogo helps, breathing fire and burns the throne in the process. (So in Thanos vs Ironman fashion) Jon crawls to his sword and NK walks towards him impaling his leg, NK about to deliver his final blow when Jon reached his sword on time and finally ending the Long Night. One by one the wights and white walkers vanishes.

Conclusion: Drogo takes his mother and flies away, Jon looks at the bright sky and Bran looks at the plant on his side, a dewdrop falls ending winter and spring arrives. Tyrion (miraculously survives and arrived in KL, to find his brother and sister buried beneath the rocks, he mourned for them) they were all gathered for the decision making. At this point, Tyrion is asked by Bran to go to the meeting, Tyrion ask what does he represent and Bran answers “Lannisport needs its new Lord”, Tyrion teary eyed comes to the meeting. (Gendry and Ribin Arryn died btw), They reached a decision, Bran the Broken as the King of the six kingdoms. Before the final montage, Bran asks Jon if he wants to be hand of the king (Yes, Tyrion is better off as the Lord of the Lannisport than Hand, he gets what his father would never give him) Jon refuses and Bran gives him an omnimous response that Jon knows where he will go.Then final montage, Bran as King with Brienne and Podrick as Kingsguard (replacing Arya, sorry), Sansa as Queen and Jon back to the Wall leading the widlings back to their home honoring his direwolf and Tormund (who died).

It’s nothing new.

Not sleeping is pretty part and parcel for me.

Used to be I would/could pull all nighters, sometimes days in a row, with only cat naps to sustain me.

Be up all night. Get ready for school/work/date.

But tonight my brain won’t shut off.

Browsing the frankly daunting TBR of bookmarked fics, dating back to 2016, mostly from Safari, from when I was living in hotels, because my douchecannoe of an ex lied about..well.

Every fucking thing.

The townhome he rented for us in Colorado Springs, his accident. Most likely the job he had at the time.

And I fucking fell for it. Because I was a stupid, touch starved, attention seeking, needy as fuck person who had absolutely no fucking goals in life.

Still don’t. Not really.

So my ex whips up this whole whirlwind of a story, leaves me, and my ferrets, with no where to live.

The house I’d been living in for the past 5? years had been sold. And I, the damn idiot, had believed the asshat about everything.

How we were going to start a new life in Springs. I’d never have to work, because he’d support me.

All that jazz.

Pull the other one.

I wound up living in two different motels.

My laptop’s WIFI busted. My ancient 1st gen iPad and a temperamental S2 my only connection to the world outside my room.

I watched a lot of fucking Food Neywork and IGN in those days.

Trying to find a job. Begging money off my dad, adopted mom, to pay for my room.

Pay for the cremation of my little old ferret lady who passed before the move.

Relying on my dad for rides to the store. To bring me food. Take me to see about possible jobs.

I’d dropped out of the Gundam Wing fandom right about the time I let this motherfucker in my life.

To this day, the second biggest regret of my life.

All the time I spent with him, was time away from my kids.

I think..the only reason I went so hard after him, was because my Dom, my unofficial boyfriend. The guy who never fucking opened up to anyone, including his own fucking wife, couldn’t be mine.

We both knew it.

We’d had an agreement, when it all started, I wouldn’t fall in love with him.

Pretty sure somewhere around the..maybe 6 month mark. We both broke that rule.

My ferrets loved him to fucking death.

Including my little alpha brat, Romey, long passed, who absolutely hated men.

Oh, but she adored Biker.

I was the only human she’d bonded to.

Until he came along.

Here I was. Juggling nights with Biker, who never lied, between time with this top shelf, wannabe alpha pencil dick.

Didn’t really have time for the GW fandom.

Or any fandom, really.

I had 11 ferrets, Biker and the king of lies, all while trying to find/keep a job.

GW, LJ. They took a serious backseat to everything else.

Another of my regrets.

I’d check LJ, on occasion. The app was always glitchy on my iPad and there was nothing doing for it.

It was an even bigger bitch on Safari.

Check LJ. Scroll through the feeds for the GW authors I’d followed to that platform.

Then I kinda just..dropped off.

There wasn’t a whole lot going on, with the fandom. Aside from a couple die hard authors who did like Christmas stories or updated long running arcs.

Last year, in a fit of pique, I log back in. It’s been like 2-3 years since I last checked LJ, and I was feeling mildly curious what the people I’d been following since I was barely a teen, were up to.

The Queen herself. One of the most prolific authors in the GW fandom, whom I’d chased across archives and links, was gone.

Breast cancer that ravaged her whole body.

She was just..gone.

She left her LJ in the care of Offspring. Explained what was going on.

That she’d kept it behind the scenes, not wanting friends to know. But her time was coming, and she left a note for Offspring to post to her LJ.

I cried for days after seeing the entry.

This was a writer who coined the phrase, “flyboy,” so indelibly in my mind, for Heero Yuy, that it brings up memories of sitting in my closet/bathroom/bedroom, as a teen, depending on which story I’m reading.

I can’t remember a thing from school most days, but those memories are crystal clear.

Last year, Offspring did as she promised and posted the very last 12 Days of Christmas.

One a day.

The first 11 written by her mom, the last based off an outline left for her.

I haven’t read them yet.

It breaks my heart, knowing that I wasted time on a bastard who never cared for me, while I could have been reading these beautiful stories and letting this creative soul how much I adored them.

Now I’ll never get the chance.

The chance to let this amazing person know how much I’ve loved their stories.

Nearly 2 decades in the GW fandom, she wrote stories.

2 fucking decades.

That, right there, is dedication, of a whole different caliber.

Not many people in the GW fandom still writing. Outside of a few outliers.

Not from the old days, anyway.

I can’t stop crying.

Her LJ hurts to visit. The constant memory that never again will it be updated.

No more unique turn of phrase.

No more Heero “Flyboy” Yuy.

She’s gone.

Never take your fandom for granted.

It can be friends you met.

Family you adopted.

Treasure those stories.

Appreciate the writers.

Because one day, it may end. And you’ll always be left wondering what if.

Let your favorite authors know just how much you love their stories.

Time is fleeting.

But fandom is forever.

I regret not going back. Even just to let her know I was still there, still reading, still appreciating, 2 decades later.

One day, the ache will lessen and I’ll be able to read her stories without breaking down in tears.

But until then..
