a problem i have with how people talk about c!jack in relation to c!tommy is the fact that everyone emphasizes the fact that tommy is a child, which isnt a bad thing of course, but no one seems to do the same with jack, which i think we should start doing because jacks age is just..not common knowledge apparently? everytime its brought up that jack is 18 and has only been 18 for a few months theres always a handful of people who are genuinely shocked to find that out. their age gap has been so exaggerated that the popular narrative about their characters for a while has been 'evil little adult man targets traumatized child for unspecified reasons' and not 'traumatized teenager targets a different traumatized teenager for a multitude of complicated reasons'

I wish Hypmic had a more thorough timeline detailed somewhere because that last post about Kuko's commitment to BAT made me think, I know Kuko's known Hitoya a bit longer, but in canon BAT's only been a group for what? a year or so? and while Kuko was with Ichiro for most likely longer time, they still went their separate ways pretty young. as chaotic as Kuko is, I'm imagining that for getting to know people in relatively short time frames, he values having stable figures in his life.

i also think part of the issue here is that hypmic’s still taking their time developing nagosaka as teams and as individuals with the depth they’ve clearly already set up. like, yeah, hitoya is kuukou’s longest relationship between the guys he’s partnered up with— 5 years since he met him, maybe 3 years worth of actual development— so it makes some sense why kuukou’s at that point with hitoya, especially given what hitoya’s also done for kuukou. but idk if i can confidently say it’s been a year since he’s met jyushi lol and that’s intense

so i agree that kuukou has a desire for stability of some sort; he immediately calls jyushi and hitoya his family the moment bat is formed and says that they’ll never betray each other. but it’s also like……. why so hard so soon lol??

I've just come to realise that this 'platonic spouses with an adoptive son while our friend suffers in prison' situation has similar vibes to being in your 20s and watching a bunch of your friends settle down/have their life in order while you're just... doing your best and not getting very far.

Tommy is just about managing to live paycheck to paycheck with a job he hates getting up for each day while Tubbo and Ranboo have a nice house where they are raising their young family.
