Fiberfab Centurion, 1965. A kit-car replica of the Chevrolet XP-87 prototype is to be offered at auction in France at the end of the month. The fibreglass Centurion was created by Warren “Bud” Goodwin, the founder of Fiberfab and could be built onto a C1 Corvette chassis. However before series production of the fibreglass bodywork had begun Goodwin was jailed for the voluntary manslaughter of his wife whom he had caught in bed with one his mechanics. Whilst in jail Goodwin himself died of a heart attack. It is thought than less than 12 Centurion bodies were made and this is one of them. The car has been fully restored and is based on a 1958 Corvette, equipped with the 283hp 4.6-litre V8 engine with Rochester injection and a manual gearbox.
