does taylor know I would be a fundamentally different person if she had not put out Tim McGraw 18 years ago to start her career

Happy birthday to the album that made me a Swiftie! Ever since I heard Teardrops On My Guitar on the radio and watched the music video, I’ve been listening to Taylor’s music every day. I will completely lose it when we get Taylor’s version 🥹

What makes Taylor Swift so special for you? I have annoying male coworkers who keep hating on her and it annoys me endlessly but I find it difficult to put into words why she is in fact a great artist like it feel like such a personal experience to me why I love her music but it is, if you look at her succes, obviously a mondial experience
ah the swiftie burden of having to listen to people's opinions on taylor when you didn't ask. taylor swift's music is such a personal experience and i think that's what makes her such a great writer/artist. i am a lyric girl in my heart. in my music consumption i'm definitely drawn to lyrics over production most of the time. so i connect to taylor's complex storytelling. she's also a very visual writer and paints these vivid pictures that i just fall into. and it's because she has a strong voice. you know a taylor lyric when you hear it (it's why no fans were that surprised she wrote this is what you came for - it's swiftian.) she's self referential to the point where you can link songs across albums. much like kendrick lamar (another artist i love) they both create these universes their music lives in that requires deep interpretation and connection to other songs or literary/cultural references - that's what draws me to her she wants you to dig into what she's saying. while her voice/style/sound may not appeal to everyone, the scope and detail that lives within her music shows a great love for her craft/art imo.

i almost always listen to albums in order the first few times / like to take my time with the song(s) that stick out to me before moving onto the next one but [eyeing "the albatross"]...
She's the albatross She is here to destroy you Devils that you know Raise worse hell than a stranger She's the death you chose You're in terrible danger

Taylor's such an endearing romantic because she heard every alarm blaring & still thought getting with an 18 yr old who's experiencing an insurmountable level of fame on his own at the time was going to somehow work. Like that hope is their downfall but it's so relatable too.
