Flame dragons are as capricious and destructive as the element they embody. Proud, jealous, quick to anger and unforgiving, they bring complete and total ruin to their surroundings for vengeance or just fun. While the specific types of games they play will vary between families, many of them delight in driving despair and rage. Some do so in direct and destructive means, playing with prey like a cat, destroying the same person's home and life over and over while leaving them alive in the wreckage. Others will be cunning and manipulative, choosing victims of high political stature and elaborately building conspiracy around their lives. These plans can last for ages behind the scenes, the dragon tearing apart the lives of an entire kingdom over generations, making sure anyone who offends it suffers most.
Those who can invade and survive the lair of older flame dragons will find the spoils of their conquests stored with the dragon's horde. Some may collect the scorched skulls of every person they drove to destruction, others will melt the treasure of a toppled dynasty into a single piece of art. Defeating a flame dragon is an invitation to far worse punishment though. Leaving one alive in humiliation is a terrible position, as only the youngest dragons will seek vengeance directly upon the one who defeated them. Older ones are far more patient, and will target their foe's children and distant family, seeking to torture the family line once the direct ire of their rage is out of the way. Even if a dragon is killed, this can draw the attention of the dragon's relatives, tracking down the killer's identity and preparing their revenge for the greatest insult of all: a dragon slain by a lesser being.

Wakfu art dump because yes
This post is gonna be super long because I will ramble IN DEPTH today
So huh if you like my rambling or my art just read ig, otherwise scroll away idk what to tell ya
Showing some of my art and ramble because wakfu is part of my current big 3 hyperfixations ( along with WH and Trolls )
So huh enjoy my growing insanity ( I compiled it in one post to not annoy people too much :')
Presenting my oc Sharm !
Tumblr media
An (very pink) Eliotrope
She's based on my in game character but I kinda gave her lore and a story so
⭐INFODUMP about Wakfu in general ! ⭐
Basic infos for those who don't know anything about Wakfu :
Wakfu is a french animated serie made by the studio Ankama, who also made several mmorpg games ( and way more, like the amount of content and lore is crazy)
Most of the stories will take place on the World of Twelves, populated by 12 main races (with many variation)
And there is a 13th "main race", the Eliatropes, which is the race of the main character of the anime, Yugo
Eliotropes ( with a o instead of a) are a subrace of the Eliatropes ( lore is explained in the serie but I don't wanna spoil, so to boil it down, Eliotropes are unstable pale copies of eliatropes) [ they are playable in the game wakfu]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, what about Sharm ? Well she was born a pretty regular Eliotrope. She had two "brothers", Chance and Vitali, who unfortunately ended up fading away with time ( mechanically, when an Eliotrope die, his/her essence will go to the nearest Eliotrope to allow them to live longer)
So Sharm was left alone for very long, and stayed in Eliatropes ruins she found. Those were overgrown by stasis ( type of crystals, very bad, generally associated with corruption and destruction)
However, the essence she got from her siblings passing could only last so long
One day, in a desperate attempt to not die, Sharm took stasis and...ate it. Chewed on the mf crystals, and surprisingly, an interesting reaction occured : it stabilised her essence. It also made her basically frozen in development, Sharm cannot grow anymore and her power levels are quite limited in quantity, unless she uses stasis.
So my girl went through the ages, she kept on researching on the remnant of the eliatrope race ( wiped out aside from a few) and became sort of an archeologist
Tumblr media
Nowadays, Sharm travels from a country/city to an other, often with mercenaries she hires as bodyguards . The other two ocs in this sketch page are the said mercenaries
And the cat is called Noiraude !
Tumblr media
Sharm needs protection because she is stupidly useless in combat
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
And also I have fanarts of Nora !
And also, it's time for the gremlin mode
The worst of the ramble
I kinda just need to scream for a moment
Beware, big spoilers for the serie ahead ! Stop now and go watch Wakfu !! It's all on Netflix ( season 1, season 2, then the 3 oav, THEN season 3 and you will be ready for season 4 :D)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, this character is Nora (second drawing is a headcanon version of her)
Who is Nora ? She is the sixth eliatrope of the Council ( Eliatropes are rules by the six first borns of the race who can reincarnate along with their dragon twin)
Nora appeared for the first time in a flashback the episode "Quilbi" in season 2
In 2011
And back then she was in a flashback, so presumed dead from the war that wiped out the Eliatropes
BUT
Lately, as clips and trailers of season 4 of Wakfu has been released
It's confirmed that Nora is there
She's alive
She's in season 4
*grabs u*
2011
She has been my favorite character of Wakfu since her one and only appearance, alright ?
And now
12-13 years later
She is real
SHE IS REAL AND ALIVE IN THE SERIE
*maniacal laughter*
I will not shut up about it
Prepare for the fanarts
*retreats to the shadows*

Boygenius – TD Pavilion at the Mann Center – Philadelphia, PA – September 30, 2023
Saturday was a night for a supergroup as Boygenius took to stage in Philly. The group is made up of Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus, and Phoebe Bridgers. The three singers have successful musical careers of their own but combined their unbelievable vocals and changed the game.
Their first release was “boygenius,” an EP released in 2018 with hits “Salt In The Wound” and “Bite The Hand.” Their first album The Record was released March 31 of this year and hit number one on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums. “Not Strong Enough” off The Record is the biggest song in their career, hitting number one on the Billboard charts and over 50 million streams on Spotify. This was their first show in Philadelphia, and it was a big one, with a sold-out crowd of 14,000.
Tumblr media
Boygenius’ long-awaited first-ever local show was worth waiting for. Fans of all ages and backgrounds gathered together in the TD Pavilion on a beautiful fall night. “The Boys Are Back In Town” by Thin Lizzy started playing while fans were impatiently waiting for the group to come out. It got quiet and a live video from backstage of the three singing “Without You Without Them” began. Fans were crying and singing along with them when the song ended, and the camera followed the three running to the stage. Bridgers, Baker, and Dacus entered the stage wearing their classic business dress of white button ups and gray slacks.
Starting off strong, they kicked it off with one of their more upbeat songs, “$20.” The next four songs came from their newest album. Then, throwing it back to their self-titled EP, they played “Souvenir” and “Bite The Hand.”
Tumblr media
Concertgoers were truly in awe of Bridgers, Dacus, and Baker and were belting out the beautifully written and relatable lyrics with the singers. Each of the band members then performed one of their solo songs with the other two members doing backup vocals, giving the audience an updated version of their singles. Lucy Dacus performed her song “Please Stay” with Bridgers and Baker backing her up with angelic vocals. Julien Baker performed “Favor” and the audience was singing along and swaying as it came to an end. The crowd went wild for Phoebe’s song “Graceland Too” and it sounded like everyone knew every single word.
Then, they gave the audience a sneak peek into their new EP coming out on October 13th titled “The Rest,” by playing a new song called “Power.” They followed that with their gut wrenching “Me & My Dog,” which had many in the crowd in tears. Prior to the show starting, a fan organized a project and handed everyone colored pieces of paper to hold over their flashlights during “Me & My Dog.” It lit up the venue in beautiful rainbow colors. The band was touched and exclaimed how much it meant to them.
Tumblr media
Bridgers then requested everyone keep their phones and cameras away for her performance of “Letter to an Old Poet.” She walked around the entire venue through the crowds and sang with the fans as they were heard in the microphone alongside Bridgers. She ran back up on stage for their biggest hit “Not Strong Enough.” This brought the energy level up just enough before they left the stage before the encore. Then, after “Ketchum, ID,” they ended the whole night with “Salt In The Wound,” a song that showcases their vocal ranges and how well their voices blend.
The show was incredible and well worth the wait for Philly fans. Keep an eye out for the new EP “The Rest,” coming out on October 13.

Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1993)
Tumblr media
While the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise had three solid-to-pretty-good first entries, it rapidly devolved into garbage after that - without ever turning into "so bad they're good" trainwrecks or silly fun in the same way the Friday the 13th films did. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is the much-needed breath of fresh air the series needed. Writer/director Wes Craven thinks outside the box with this one. It's so innovative that if you kinda liked or didn’t mind the likes of Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, I’m not sure you’ll even like it.
Heather Langenkamp (playing a fictionalized version of herself), famous for playing Nancy Thompson in A Nightmare on Elm Street, is approached by Wes Craven (playing himself) and New Line Cinema to return to the series despite it ending definitively with Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare. Plagued by strange nightmares her husband, Chase (David Newsom), assures her are caused by the frequent California earthquakes, disturbed by the unusual behavior of her son, Dylan (Mike Hughes), and worried she’s already losing her mind, she’s hesitant to accept the offer.
Released three years after the “final” chapter, this one must’ve left audiences wondering if they'd stepped into the right movie. Most of this story plays out like a psychological drama rather than a slasher film. There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding Heather and her state of mind until the last act (actually, it could’ve stood to have been even more ambiguous but we’ll get to that). When we see Freddy Krueger (once again played by Robert England), he doesn’t crack jokes the way we’ve grown accustomed to him doing and his design is radically different. More effective? No, but there’s no mistaking this sinister character for the one we ridiculed previously.
It’s a much more cerebral and self-aware story than we’re accustomed to - horror or otherwise. Many shots are direct callbacks to the most iconic scenes of the 1984 original. Numerous actors play themselves and comment on the effect the films have had on their careers, psyche or lives. It makes the actors who don’t play themselves but have been previously featured in the series stand out. Lin Shaye played a teacher in the original movie. Surely Heather should recognize her but she doesn’t. As the plot progresses and Heather becomes more unhinged, the lines between reality and fiction become increasingly blurry. It’s superbly executed.
Tumblr media
While the reveal that Freddy Krueger wants to leave the fictional world and enter our world may not surprise everyone, I didn’t see it coming 100%. It’s another layer of self-awareness that makes your head spin. In the movies, Freddy “wasn’t real”. He had no physical form but his actions were tangible. The process is happening again but on a wholly different level. While this requires some retconning/reimagining of the character, this choice could not have worked with any other movie slasher or a newly-invented one. For better or worse, everyone knows who you’re talking about when you say “Freddy”. He is just as well-known as Santa Claus. I'll remind you that the postal office confirmed Santa exists, so…
Tumblr media
The film’s conclusion is, unfortunately, where Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is at its weakest. The ‘90s special effects generally haven’t aged well and they’re poured on heavily during the overly-lengthy final act. It devolves into standard Elm Street stuff, which is too bad. Everything preceding it is so fresh, so new.
Unless you’re counting 2010's A Nightmare on Elm Street or Freddy vs. Jason (which ignores this film), Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is the final story in the series and it’d be hard to come up with a better way to cap things off. This seventh installment brings it all back to the beginning and plays with many great ideas, the kind uniquely applicable to this series. The performances are strong, the filmmaking gives you a lot to think about and it's memorable. (On Blu-ray, December 13, 2019)

Oxventure/DCOM Homebrew Subclass
ORDO BUTTERFLY (Rogue Subclass)
In antiquity, the Elves of G’eth founded a deadly group of assassins that would combine druidic magic with their lethal precision, they would become known as the Order of the Gold-spotted Skipper. The Ordo Butterfly is a rogue who has embraced the esoteric ancient traditions, as no one suspects a butterfly. The Ordo Butterfly was thought to be extinct for a millenia; however, they are emerging again like butterflies from a pupa.
BONUS PROFICIENCIES
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Animal Handling and Nature skills.
BUTTERFLY SHAPE
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your action to magically assume the shape of a butterfly. You can use this feature twice. You regain expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
You can stay in your butterfly shape for a number of hours equal to half your level (rounded down). You then revert to your normal form unless you expend another use of this feature. You can revert to your normal form earlier by using a bonus action on your turn. You automatically revert if you fall unconscious, drop to 0 hit points, or die.
Butterfly
Tiny beast, unaligned
Armor Class 18
Hit Points 1
Speed 5 ft., fly 40 ft.
STR DEX CON INT WIS CHA
5 (-3) 19 (+4) 13 (+1) 3 (-4) 14 (+2) 16 (+3)
Senses passive Perception 12
Languages —
Flyby. The butterfly doesn't provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy's reach.
POISONOUS CLOUD
Starting at 9th level, your butterfly shape gains a new ability to shed toxic scales from its wings. As an action, while in your butterfly shape you can scatter toxic wing scales in a 15-foot cube centred around yourself. Each creature (besides yourself) in that area must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 2d12 poison damage and be poisoned for 1 minute. If a creature fails its saving throw by 5 or more, it is also paralysed while it is poisoned.
LEPIDOPTERA MUTATIONS
Starting at 13th level, your butterfly shape starts to change your typical body. You can choose to keep two of these mutations.
Beautiful Irradiance. You can proficiency in the Persuasion skill.
Blindsight. You can perceive your surroundings up to 60 feet by your sense of smell alone.
Camouflage. When you make a Dexterity (Stealth) check, you can make the check with advantage. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Flight. Giant butterfly-like wings sprout from your back, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
Natural Armour. Pieces of exoskeleton erupts through your skin. When you aren’t wearing armour, your base AC is 13 + your Dexterity modifier.
Proboscis. You have a retractable proboscis that can emerge from your mouth that you can use to make unarmed attacks. When you hit with it, the strike deals 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier of piercing damage.
METAMORPHOSIS
Starting at 17th level, if you drop to 0 hit points and you haven’t been killed, you can begin a metamorphosis.
A metamorphosis takes 8 hours (a long rest), in which time a pupa encapsulates your entire body, as well as, the clothes that you are wearing and any items in your possession. The pupa has your character’s base AC, and your character maximum hit points. However, any attacks made against the pupa have advantage, and attacks made against the pupa at a range of 5 feet or less automatically become critical hits. If the pupa is reduced to 0 hit points you die.
After the 8 hours have ended, you can emerge from the pupa with any changes you want to your appearance; you can change your character’s age, sex, weight, height, skin colour, hair colour, eye colour, etc. However, your character’s ancestry remains the same (humans can only metamorphose into a human). This effectively provides your character with a new identity.

Umbral dragons are sleek, black or grey dragons with smooth scales that tend to live deep underground in spaces of darkness. Their eyes glow a faint red, as if lit from within, and both their tails and wings tend to be thin and fragile for their size, though they can fly just as well as any other dragon. They prefer to feed on undead creatures, enjoying both the flesh of corporeal ones and the ectoplasmic bodies of spirits, but few will turn down the opportunity for a living meal if presented one. They are a scourge on the ghoul empires of the deep dark, which can occasionally be used by the ghoul's other enemies, though rarely can the often sadistic dragons be trusted all the way to the end of a deal. As these dragons get older their jaws and shadowy breath can sap energy as well as cause injury, a trait that's often powerful against the dragon's larger and more dangerous foes.
Inspired by the Pathfinder 1e Bestiary 2. This post came out a week ago on my Patreon. If you want to get access to all my monster conversions early, as well as access to my premade adventures and other material I’m working on, consider backing me there!

Timid Bedroom Assassin - CR7 Assassin
With buzzing wings she hung aloft, then near and nearer drew.
Tumblr media
Artwork by Ume (Illegal Bible) on Pixiv.
This NPC is an aasimar with lyrakien heritage, giving her butterfly wings, but that divine ancestry hasn't granted her any of an azata's morality, only its beauty and grace. Instead, she's an assassin who has virtually no physical combat capabilities, relying entirely on deception and charm to get close to her targets, discreetly seduce them, and kill them in secret behind closed doors. If possible, she does so in a way that causes her targets to seek discretion on their own, such as lying about her age to make them believe she's younger, or claiming to be another man's slave. Her hope, and experience, is that such lies will cause her targets to keep their meetings secret, and make her job easier.
I wanted to create a level 12 commoner and see what that actually looked like. Someone who was exceptionally competent, conceptually a powerful and important and high-level character, but who also had 12 HP. I ended up having to give her one level of assassin just for the poison use class feature, because apparently if you're a commoner with 6 Vit, poisoning a mid level character in their sleep is more likely to kill you than your target.
Anyway, this is a good example of the versatility of the challenge rating system. This is a CR 3 enemy at best in a "fair fight," but given the strategy she uses and the fact that she's almost guaranteed to get off a maximum of one attack, I instead calculated her CR as if she were a trap. That came out to CR 6, 7 or 8, depending on whether I used her Sleight of Hand, Bluff, or Disguise to calculate the equivalent of the Perception DC to notice the "trap" before it goes off. From those options, I picked the middle number.
Timid Bedroom Assassin - CR 7
The beautiful butterfly-winged woman crawls towards you on the bed, climbing on top of you. As you close your eyes in satisfaction, you feel what you can't see - the poisoned knife plunging into your throat.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Death Attack (Ex) If an assassin studies his victim for 3 rounds and then makes a sneak attack with a melee weapon that successfully deals damage, the sneak attack has the additional effect of possibly either paralyzing or killing the target (assassin's choice). Studying the victim is a standard action. The death attack fails if the target detects the assassin or recognizes the assassin as an enemy (although the attack might still be a sneak attack if the target is denied his Dexterity bonus to his Armor Class or is flanked). If the victim of such a death attack fails a Fortitude save (typically DC 13) against the kill effect, she dies. If the saving throw fails against the paralysis effect, the victim is rendered helpless and unable to act for 1d6 rounds plus 1 round per level of the assassin. If the victim’s saving throw succeeds, the attack is just a normal sneak attack. Once the assassin has completed the 3 rounds of study, he must make the death attack within the next 3 rounds. The save DC is Intelligence-based.
If a death attack is attempted and fails (the victim makes her save) or if the assassin does not launch the attack within 3 rounds of completing the study, 3 new rounds of study are required before he can attempt another death attack.

Screening for Chromosomal Abnormalities during Pregnancy
Tumblr media
Introduction
When expecting a new addition to the family, ensuring the health of the baby is a top priority for parents. One important aspect of prenatal care is screening for chromosomal abnormalities. These screenings are designed to assess the risk of certain genetic disorders that can affect a baby’s development and overall health. Understanding the significance, types, and timing of these tests can help expecting parents make informed decisions and prepare for any potential health challenges their baby might face. This introduction into the world of prenatal screenings aims to clarify their necessity and process, helping parents navigate their journey with confidence and knowledge.

Importance of Screening for Chromosomal Abnormalities during Pregnancy

Significance of Prenatal Care
Prenatal care is not just about ensuring a healthy diet and regular check-ups; it’s a critical period for comprehensive screenings and tests to assess the health of both the mother and the fetus. Among these, screening for chromosomal abnormalities plays a pivotal role. These screenings help to identify potential health issues that could affect the baby’s development and lead to informed decisions about care and treatment. Early detection through these screens can prepare parents and healthcare providers to manage health conditions that could impact the baby’s life quality.

Risks of Chromosomal Abnormalities in Pregnancy
Chromosomal abnormalities occur when there is a defect in one or more chromosomes. The most well-known of these is Down syndrome, but there are many others like Trisomy 18 and Trisomy 13, which can significantly impact a baby’s development both physically and mentally. The risks associated with these disorders can vary; they include developmental delays, congenital disabilities, and, in some severe cases, stillbirth. The risks tend to increase with maternal age, particularly in mothers over the age of 35. Screening helps in assessing these risk factors early in the pregnancy, which is crucial for planning and management.

Common Screening Tests for Chromosomal Abnormalities

First Trimester Screening
First trimester screening is typically conducted between the 11th and 13th weeks of pregnancy. This screening involves a blood test and an ultrasound. The blood test measures the levels of certain substances in the mother’s blood that are associated with chromosomal conditions in the fetus. The ultrasound examines the nuchal translucency, which is a fluid-filled space at the back of the baby’s neck. Increased fluid can be a sign of Down syndrome, Trisomy 18, or heart defects. Together, these tests provide a risk assessment that helps in determining whether further diagnostic testing is needed.

Second Trimester Screening
Known as the “quad screen,” second trimester screening is conducted between the 16th and 18th weeks of pregnancy. This test measures four substances in the mother’s blood: AFP, hCG, Estriol, and Inhibin-A. Abnormal levels of these substances can suggest the risk of certain chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome and Trisomy 18, as well as neural tube defects like spina bifida. This screening does not confirm the presence of these conditions but identifies if there is a heightened risk, requiring additional, more definitive tests.

Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT)
Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is a relatively new screening test that can be done as early as the 10th week of pregnancy. It involves taking a blood sample from the mother to examine fragments of fetal DNA that are present in the maternal bloodstream. NIPT is highly effective in detecting several major chromosomal abnormalities, including Down syndrome, Trisomy 13, and Trisomy 18. Due to its non-invasive nature and high level of accuracy in these areas, NIPT is increasingly becoming a popular choice among expectant parents. It offers not only peace of mind but also a safer way for early detection compared to invasive tests, which carry risks of miscarriage.

Benefits of Early Detection and Diagnosis
Understanding potential chromosomal abnormalities early on during pregnancy can have numerous benefits for both the mother and the developing baby. Early detection provides crucial insights into the health of the fetus and can guide further medical and personal decisions throughout the pregnancy.

Early Intervention and Treatment Options
Identifying chromosomal abnormalities early in pregnancy allows healthcare providers to offer specific interventions that may mitigate some complications. For instance, certain conditions like congenital heart defects, which can be associated with chromosomal abnormalities, can be managed better if detected early. Health professionals can monitor the baby’s development more closely, prepare for interventions soon after birth, and sometimes even suggest treatments before the baby is born. Early detection also opens the door to connect with specialists and hospitals equipped to handle specific conditions right from the start, ensuring the best possible care for both mother and baby.

Emotional and Psychological Preparation for Parents
Receiving news about potential chromosomal abnormalities during a pregnancy can be emotionally challenging. However, early detection gives parents valuable time to psychologically and emotionally prepare for the arrival of a child who may have special needs. It allows for additional time to research the condition, understand what it entails, and realistically set expectations. Support groups and counseling services can also be accessed sooner, providing much-needed emotional support and guidance through the pregnancy journey. This preparatory phase is crucial for building a supportive environment for the child and family.

Making Informed Decisions
The journey of prenatal screenings and tests provides critical information that can influence the decisions made by expectant parents. From understanding the scope and implications of test results to deciding on further diagnostic procedures, parents are better equipped to make informed decisions when they have comprehensive and timely information.

Understanding Screening Results
Navigating the results of prenatal screenings for chromosomal abnormalities can be complex. These tests typically assess the risk of the fetus having certain conditions but do not confirm the presence of abnormalities. Health professionals usually convey results as a probability or risk level, such as a 1 in 100 chance. Understanding what these numbers mean can significantly affect a parent’s decision-making process. For clarity, it is key that the healthcare provider explains the results comprehensively, discussing what they may imply about the baby’s health and what further steps might be advisable.

Follow-up Diagnostic Tests
If screening tests show a high risk of chromosomal abnormalities, follow-up diagnostic tests may be recommended. These tests, such as amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling (CVS), are more invasive but provide conclusive results about whether a chromosomal abnormality exists. Decision-making at this stage is critical — parents must consider potential risks and benefits. Some may choose to proceed to understand definitively if an abnormality is present, while others may opt out due to the potential risks involved with these procedures. The choice can profoundly impact the approach towards the remaining period of pregnancy, labor, and postnatal care, underscoring the importance of clear, informed discussions with healthcare providers.
Each step in this process, from initial screening to potential diagnostic follow-ups, plays a pivotal role in how parents manage their pregnancy and prepare for their child’s future, making these early assessments incredibly significant.

Advocating for Prenatal Health
Tumblr media
The journey through pregnancy is a remarkable period that brims with the promise of new life. However, it’s also a time when the health of both mother and baby should be monitored with great attention and care. Advocating for robust prenatal health is crucial to ensuring that the pregnancy progresses safely and healthily. This encompasses regular medical check-ups, effective communication with healthcare professionals, and adhering to prescribed prenatal routines.

Importance of Regular Check-ups
Regular check-ups during pregnancy serve as a critical tool for monitoring the health and development of the fetus, as well as the well-being of the mother. These visits typically involve a variety of tests and screenings designed to detect any potential issues early on, such as chromosomal abnormalities, which could affect the baby’s development. Routine check-ups enable doctors to:
– Track the growth and development of the fetus
– Monitor the health status of the mother, including blood pressure and weight
– Provide important updates on nutritional needs and physical activity
– Administer necessary vaccinations to protect both mother and child
One critical aspect of these check-ups is screening for chromosomal abnormalities. These screenings are usually non-invasive and provide valuable insights into the genetic health of the fetus. Early detection through these tests allows for a broader range of options and preparedness in managing any conditions that may be discovered.

Communicating with Healthcare Providers
Effective communication with healthcare providers is another pillar of strong prenatal care. Expectant mothers should feel empowered to discuss any concerns or symptoms they experience without hesitation. Open communication can lead to:
– Tailored health advice that aligns with individual health histories and needs
– Clarification and reassurance regarding the normal processes and symptoms of pregnancy
– Swift action and intervention if any unusual signs or complications are identified.
Patients should feel encouraged to ask questions about the screenings, including what each test involves, what the results could indicate, and the subsequent steps following different outcomes. Understanding the purpose and outcomes of tests like those for chromosomal abnormalities not only eases anxieties but also helps in making informed decisions. This dialogue ensures that the pathways of care are clear, inclusive, and aligned with the best interests of both the mother and the developing baby.

Conclusion – Ensuring a Healthy Start for Mother and Baby

Prenatal screening for chromosomal abnormalities is a crucial step toward ensuring the health and well-being of both mother and baby. These screenings help in early detection, which can provide families with valuable information to make informed decisions and prepare for any necessary medical care. Remember, while the prospect of screening can be daunting, the knowledge gained allows for better preparation and peace of mind during what should be a joyous journey. At Ambady Scan, the best scanning center in Kerala, we are dedicated to offering the highest quality prenatal screening services to support you every step of the way.

Session 3 – Cooldown Period
Hobbies wax and wane.
This is the end of Session 3. The next session, number 4, would be dealing with the constant summoning of skeletons and a siege of the town.
But it is summer now where I am. I have too many hobbies and the 'spark' of writing isn't calling me as much. I'll potentially pick this back up again in the fall/winter. Or perhaps when I convince my friends to plays this as an in person D&D game.
So it's a hiatus for now.
-------------
Fun fact, I always used those dashes, 13 of them, to subtly promote a better D&D system called 13th age. Personally, I think it's more fun.
I figured it was important to deal with why the characters still couldn't read, even though it's been roughly six months (two and a half seasons give or take) and they're generally functioning adults who make good decisions.
Part of why I notice I'm losing the 'taste' for writing is because I wrote two scenes with just one of the group talking to a separate character. And there should be roughly eight characters in total.
The Guild, Julia, and the dungeon gold. in D&D there is an 'expected' amount of wealth each character should have. for level four characters, that number is 376 gold pieces.
I've kept the 'characters'/'players' intentionally poor. A player might complain that they 'are not getting what they are supposed to get.' so I'm 'giving' them their gold per level. except this world/country doesn't use gold as a medium of exchange.
Also, setting up a scale is actually quite the endeavor, especially if it's a 'bulk' type of scale and not a small jewelers scale. Think doctors office scale, but with a bucket rather than scales of justice.

LA CHAISE-DIEU MÉDIÉVALE & LA RÉVOLUTION BÉNÉDICTINE
On July 13, 2024, at La Chaise-Dieu, the European Network of Casadean Sites will present a public conference on the topic of the Benedictine Revolution in Livradois-Forez, led by the La Chaise-Dieu Abbaye, starting a bit earlier with the religious reform brought up by Charlemagne in the 9th century. The Abbaye was founded less than 200 years later. The conference will focus the discussion – and it has to be a discussion – on the consequences of the Carolingian religious reform, the agricultural revolution with the invention of the horse collar and the management of the land, the rotation of crops, cultivation, and fertilization. Then the proto-industrial revolution that will bring five types of watermills for grain, oil, tan, hemp (fiber and cloth), and slightly later paper. This will make Livradois-Forez an essential region producing hemp cables and hemp cloth for ships. The first result was 75 days without any work in the year, no work before and after morning and evening angelus, and a pause with midday angelus. The second result was better food and demographical expansion, up to the end of the 13th century.
Then things became darker. Overpopulation brought unrest and all sorts of contests and conflicts at the religious level itself (Crusades in the Middle East, but also against the Cathars in France. Then in 1346, the Black Death, a pandemic in Europe of the bubonic plague, caused a tremendous level of deaths. Then, the One Hundred Years War started in 1337. The resilience of the population enabled Europe in general to go through, and around 1450 the printing press was developed by Gutenberg enabling the printing of books for the highly-needed university training of great numbers of people to bring Europe back on its feet. The Renaissance was the result of this period, a tremendously positive and creative period, and at the same time, a highly-disturbed era with The Reformation, and the religious wars that concerned all countries at a time when nationalism was emerging.
Tumblr media
Two speakers-debaters will present the five or six centuries concerned as fast as possible to let the audience debate questions like:
1-    The influence and impact of Charlemagne’s religious reform.
2-    The feudal system: land ownership and serfdom.
3-    The role of technology to produce energy, replace human work, and develop new products.
4-    Religious tensions with Avignon and Rome conformist Popes.
5-    The role of The Inquisition and religious justice.
6-    The fate of the cable industry when Omerin In Ambert is number one in Europe or the world for various high-security and high-technicity cables.
7-    The culture: architecture, music, painting, carving, theater, oratorio and opera, literature.
It will take place at LA CHAISE-DIEU – AUDITORIUM GEORGES CZIFFRA
SAMEDI 13 JUILLET 2024 – 14-17 HEURES 30.
The two main speakers so far are Dr Jacques COULARDEAU (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne) and PhD Graduate Student Clément GOMY (Université Clermont Auvergne) with a direct contribution by Ludivine BOURDUGE and Xavier OMERIN on the adventure of the Omerin Family.
Make it a day visit with the Abbey church to visit, the choir tapestries in their new shrine, Lavaudieu’s Abbey church of the female branch of the order, and climbing to the top of what they call in La Chaise-Dieu the scaffoldings of the abbey church. You may also come across Saint Robert de Turlande in the cloister if you can meditate on and contemplate twelve centuries of human history in this heart of spirituality.

MEDIEVAL LA CHAISE-DIEU & THE BENEDICTINE REVOLUTION

Don't fear getting old (2)
Word for Today written by Bob and Debby Gass
Saturday 13th January 2024
'They shall still bear fruit in old age.' Psalm 92:14 NKJV
Does the thought of getting older depress you, make you anxious or make you fatalistic in your outlook? If so, read this: 'Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing' (Psalm 92:13-14 NKJV).
Here's how to stay 'fresh and flourishing' as you grow older: (1) Guard your health. Studies show that good health is the number-one factor in determining the level of happiness in old age. So eat healthy and exercise often if you can. Drink lots of water, take your daily vitamins and get regular medical check-ups. These efforts will not guarantee you more time, but they will help improve the quality of your time here on earth. (2) Look your best. Dress stylishly at every age, as your budget will allow. When you look good, you feel good - and inspired. But keep your quest for attractiveness in balance. Remember God's words to Samuel: 'The Lord doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart' (1 Samuel 16:7 NLT). Think twice, examine your motives, seek God's advice and do your homework before you submit to cosmetic procedures. Some can be costly and downright dangerous. (3) Look for someone to help. Mother Teresa said, 'We cannot do great things. We can only do little things with great love.' You will be amazed at the sense of strength, self-worth and satisfaction you feel when you meet the needs of others. An unknown poet wrote, 'It's loving and giving that makes life worth living!'
