20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @sevenmerrymagpies for this, thank you so much darlin! 🥰🥰🥰
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 18 (one of them is just links to artwork though)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 417,209… that’s the equivalent of almost six novels. Damn, I wrote six novels in just over two years!!!
3. What fandoms do you write for? Right now just Stranger Things
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
With a Little Help From My Friends ❤️ Why Should I Cry For You ❤️ Not-so-iron Maiden ❤️ Tattoos and Trash Talk ❤️ Next Time I Fall
5. Do you respond to comments? Yes, even if it’s just a short “thank you!!!” because I appreciate every single comment so much.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I think it’s Into the Shining Sun, but even then it’s a hopeful ending too.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Anyone who knows me knows I ADORE happy endings for all the characters! But Little Help ends with Eddie and Chrissy’s wedding, and Next Time ends with El and Gareth at her senior prom making plans for their future together, so those two are probably the very happiest.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Thankfully no— if anyone hates me/my fics they’re keeping it to themselves. I don’t actually know how I’d handle it. Probably not well!
9. Do you write smut? Nope. I don’t know how. I can barely write the word ‘tongue’ without cringing. Lmao
10. Do you write crossovers? No, but if I could think of a good one I wouldn’t mind trying!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? No, thankfully.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but if anybody ever wanted to they’d be welcome, all they have to do is ask.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not yet, but Pearly and I have big plans!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? The only one that has endured the test of time— Mulder and Scully.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I only have one WIP right now and even though I’m taking a hiatus from it, I do hope to still finish it sometime.
16. What are your writing strengths? I’m not sure, I don’t feel too great about my writing lately (hence the wip on hiatus). I’ll let my dear friend and favorite commenter Rich speak for me— “You have written a world that I really want to live in and populated it with characters that I really want to meet and be friends with.”
17. What are your writing weaknesses? (I’m trying to be realistic and not unnecessarily self-loathing here.) My weaknesses are: not creating strong beginnings and endings, adding too much dialogue, adding too much description to the point of infodumping, unable to write smut, and lately, recycling plots. Sigh.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I’ve tried it, sprinkling little bits of Welsh into Gareth and my imaginary Emerson family, and it’s not as simple as just plugging things into google translate. I don’t think I’d be willing to do more than an occasional word or phrase here and there. Although cariad as a pet name is a permanent part of my lexicon now.
19. First fandom you wrote for? NSYNC. I don’t want to talk about it.
20. Favorite fics you’ve written? Not-so-iron Maiden and Tattoos and Trash Talk will always be two of my favorites, Gone Away because I love uncle Wayne so much, and of course Next Time I Fall which despite its rushed ending is still the work I’m proudest of.

finally posted jinyoung's the devil judge interview that's a japan dvd exclusive!!
translation by @maystea and review by @yohannoir
translation is in the description of the vid
youtube
Ah, yes, about Kim Ga-On's character - he’s an associate judge who is next to Yo-Han. He’s a righteous character that tracks a very mysterious person, Yo-Han and reveals (shines the bright on/tn) truth.
First, the character is really three-dimensional (0:24), so he has a lot of charm. I could shoot it together with Ji-Sung sunbaenim a character who pushes until the very end with him, so I learned a lot. I first saw the news about Ji-Sung hyungnim… Ji-Sung sunbaenim through articles, and I auditioned with a thought that it’s a good thing to make, and in the meeting, fortunately, the director and the writer saw me as really good, and I got to shoot the drama.
I only followed what Ji-Sung hyung told me, so I don’t know if I did well. But it’s a relief that you watched it pleasantly.
(1:07) I thought I would have to become really sharp. I've played a lot of young characters, college students, people in their early 20s and it was my first time playing a slightly older character, so I paid a lot of attention to having to speak more pointedly. (1:35) And the character's emotions change so much that I think I looked at the script a lot in order to go along with those emotions well.
(1:42) I'd seen a lot of things in lots of different genres except for horror, so I didn't feel any difference in that regard. Yes, so there wasn’t a backup plan. Because I originally didn’t have many shootings of judge’s profession; I learned a lot of phrases with the writer.
(2:06) There wasn't really anyone who was the "mood maker" on set. I don't think anyone had a really great sense of humor... Sorry, sunbaenim. So it wasn't like we were really laughing a lot. But I think we all tried to make sure everyone was having a good time.
(2:13), but everyone was doing it (probably: approached/tn) each other happily since the structure of the drama itself was heavy; if we were being serious, I was worried whenever that would be too much, myself. Although my character has bright sides, in reality I was trying to be brighter. Because the longer the harder it would be to remain serious, so I said to myself: “Just let’s be enjoyably bright.”
At the end of ep. 4, Yohan goes out hugging Elijah/with Elijah in his arms, when I saw (2:51). When they saw such a terrible sight. I really liked that scene. I thought that everything was really contained in that one shot of Ji Sung hyung. I really liked that scene, Jisung-hyung's only heart, I thought he was hugging his everything. My favorite line is, um, “The judge is the strongest when they follow the law.” Everything in the reality of the drama is so horrible, but... (3:17), I think this line shows the efforts of a character who still tries to protect something, and I like that.
(3:31) I thought it would really be a shame to show too simple of a character-- too simple emotions. The director never okayed it if I showed emotions too simply. That's how I wanted it, too. And they really did a good job of filming the emotions that came up naturally. So I tried not to show one-dimensional emotions. I think I paid a lot of attention to that. (3:41), I never laughed/smiled. I wanted that as well. And they shouted the emotions that came naturally well. That is why I was worried about the emotions coming out at first try (and tried to prevent it).
(4:00) First of all, I learned a lot at the shooting scene. At every scene, he (Ji-Sung or writer or director/tn) told me everything. It was like I met a teacher. (That’s why) he’s always (a/the) sunbaenim I should be always thankful to. (4:20) There weren't a lot of funny scenes. I had lot of scenes where I had to cry... I only have memories of crying (laughs).
(4:35) They set the atmosphere like that for you, so rather than saying that I cried, it's more like they made it so that you couldn't help but cry.
Interviewer: ah, but the tear scenes are so… they are so real. I guess I’m a crybaby [laughs]. I guess I just want to cry.
It’s a drama that can be shot and made once, I think. I had a lot of worries about how should I shoot this since I wasn’t sure how, but I still had the greed to shoot it. I ran to it at all costs, I think I should walk to it a little bit more, (still) it’s a work that I could catch (work on, make my own/tn).
Yes, sure. Even now I’m hardworkingly recording, and (5:27) that drama is still airing. I’m trying hard to make/play characters who are different from Gaon.
My routine-first, after The Devil Judge, I didn’t have many proper days-off, so sport/exercising. Waking up in the morning, eating a breakfast that is not heavy, home work, laundry [laughs]. Well, about laundry and cleaning, (5:57) I think all I do is laundry and cleaning.
Something like, when you just come back home and work, when I saw a clean house, I (felt like) I rested well. If the house is dirty, I cannot watch it, so (because) I cannot handle it for too long I cleaned it myself. “I should do it,” it bothered me like this. (6:17) I can't stand the sight of it, so even when I don't have a lot of time to sleep, I clean and then sleep. I have to do that to feel relaxed. It's not that I have this really clean personality, it's just that I can't look at things piling up. With clothes too, if I don't wear them a lot, I just get rid of them. I don't have that strong a sense of wanting to own stuff, so when I see things pile up, I think, "I have to hurry up and clean this."
I'm not that tidy type of a person, I cannot watch the (6:27) … . (The same for clothes,) if I see many clothes, I will just throw them to the laundry. I don’t have that (6:34), just looking at the size (makes me go) “Ah, clean it up, you boy. I need to (handle it) to the laundry,” in my thoughts.
(6:42) I'm a hypochondriac, so I think I really look after my health.
I’m a healthy man. I think I’m doing really great in laundry and (being) healthy.
Hello. I'm actor Park Jinyoung who plays the role of Kim Gaon. I'm very curious about how you watched the drama. I would like it to be the drama that would remain in your memory for a long time. I will meet you in another drama in an even cooler role. Thank you.

2+ Star Axl/Sue Episodes of "The Middle" Season 7 (After Ep. 13)
This is based on @heckcest's episode commentaries. I loved their guide to Axl/Sue episodes, but unfortunately they stopped mid-season 7, so I decided to do my own continuation so that newer fans of the ship (like a handful of you, if even) will know which episodes are worth watching. But to be honest, I'm mainly doing this for myself so I can gush. If you've seen @heckcest's commentaries, you'll notice that I have simplified my descriptions, focusing only on Axl/Sue commentary, and my way of rating may be slightly different. Let me know how you'd rate these episodes and I may even make some adjustments.
My General Rating System:
1 star - They're both in the episode, but don't interact much, or at least not notably. I won't be writing about these, so you can skip these episodes if you're just looking for Axl/Sue moments.
2 stars - They're both in the episode and may not interact much, but maybe there's just one little line or moment I feel like deserves to be pointed out. These episodes can be skipped, or you can just watch the scene I point out if you really feel like it.
3 stars - The episode has a plot revolving around the two of them. OR they may not have a plot revolving around them, but there's a very notable moment they have. You should probably watch these episodes.
4 stars - An Axl and Sue centric episode. OR there's just a lot of good Axl/Sue moments -- showing affection, getting along, a heartfelt interaction, and all that bubbly stuff. Definitely watch these ones!
5 stars - The best of the best in MY opinion! You just gotta watch them! And then rewatch them!
((Spoilers ahead!))
Episode Ratings and Commentary:
Ep. 15 | "Hecks at a Movie" | 2 stars | As the title implies, the Hecks go to a movie. Sue and Axl sit next to each other! That's it.
Ep. 17 | "The Wisdom Teeth" | 5 STARS | !!!!! LITERALLY EVERYTHING. Basically, Sue and Axl get their wisdom teeth removed at the same time and Frankie is excited to care for them both TOGETHER as they recover. While still loopy from the drugs on the ride home from the dentist, Axl admits that he thinks Sue is really nice and that he loves her. Brick records this. They both rest on the couch. I like to imagine some cuddling was involved. The next day while sober, they see the recording. Sue figures out Axl's insecurity about showing vulnerability and he is in TURMOIL. I've never seen him like this in any other episode! And she's all like, "Say it, Axl. Say you love me." On another note, it's always funny when the older siblings kind of look down on Brick (idk a better way to phrase that. Poor Brick. He is objectively the best character). The ending with the fork is very sweet. This whole episode feels like a fanfiction! Axl makes so many cute expressions in this one, so expect lots of screenshots!
Ep. 19 | "Crushed" | 3 stars | Sue gets a crush on her professor, and like I totally get it, but it is kinda hard to watch lol. Axl doesn't have much of a plot, but he does just randomly show up to Sue's dorm and lay in her bed. He teases about dating her roommate, which she adamantly refuses to let happen. Then later in the episode, he hides in her bed and it's great! There's not a lot of moments between the two, but the little tiny bit there is is wonderful, so that's why I was originally unsure if it's a 2 or 3 star on the Heckcestometer. (I'm still figuring out this whole rating system). But in the end I decided that this one definitely deserves a watch if you're looking for some cute Axl & Sue scenes <3
Ep. 22 | "Not Mother's Day" | 4 stars | Again, Sue and Axl don't interact a lot in this episode BUT when they do towards the end, it's great!! Axl is so sweet towards Sue! When Sue is crying on the couch after losing her bedroom to Brick, Mike getting Woofy repaired (it's just not the same), and feeling anxious about being on her own for the summer, Axl comes over to console her. Like, actually console her. No sarcasm, or mean gestures, or anything. He tells her she's ready to be on her own and then helps to bring Woofy back to its former glory. And in the end, he even offers to let her share his bedroom?! Which she gratefully agrees to. Um, hello?! I wish we actually got to see them share the room, but maybe leaving it for the imagination is more fun ;)
Ep. 23 | "Find My Hecks" | 5 STARS | Just. Wow. I can't believe there's already another 5 star episode?! Maybe I'm overexaggerating because I just watched the episode? No, it's for sure a 5 star. Okay, there's so much to say here. Right off the bat we see Sue and Axl just chilling out on the couch and genuinely getting along and being lazy together. Apparently they're still sharing a room together too! Idk why I thought that was just like a one time thing last episode. We see them then chilling in their room together. There's no fighting nor animosity towards each other at all. In fact, practically none throughout the episode. Axl even invites Sue to a party, and they stay out past curfew and get pancakes together! Too bad we don't get to see that though. Their parents get upset at them for staying out so late and set their curfew to 10. Well, of course Axl convinces Sue to ignore the curfew and they go out partying again. It's like they're dating!! There's so much here left to the imagination, heheh. Mike and Frankie don't bug the kids about the curfew thing because they're secretly tracking them on their phones, but one night the phone glitches out and makes it appear like they're stuck in a ditch somewhere. The parents go out frantically to find their kids, only for Axl and Sue to come home to a parentless home. Turns out Axl has also been secretly tracking the parents on his phone and sees they're in a ditch somewhere. Axl and Sue both rush out to save they're parents. Finally they all reunite, but it becomes a bit of a parents vs Axl & Sue argument about all the secret tracking. It's really cute seeing Axl and Sue teaming up so much in this episode!! It feels like their dynamic has certainly changed since "The Wisdom Teeth" episode. Like they've been getting along a lot more. Gosh, there's so much more I could say about this episode, but it's already getting too long. Just WATCH IT! Probably one of my favorite episodes ever.
Ep. 24 | "The Show Must Go On" | 2 Stars | They hardly interact. But wait, hear me out -- "Sue being in a dorky costume. Can't miss that." ~ Axl. asdhfgskjlgs. They also sit next to each other a few times and they're dressed up so cutely.

Answer the Questions and Tag 5 Fanfic Authors
tagged by @mosylufanfic, thank you friend!
1 . How did you get into writing fanfiction?
I think I had been telling myself stories in my head since I was old enough to think coherently, but it wasn't until I was in college that I realized that I could write those stories down, and actually put them in the world to be read by other people.
2. How many fandoms have you written in?
According to AO3, I have written in twenty-six fandoms, not counting whatever's lurking in my writing tag in my blog. The fandom I've written the most for is Rogue One.
3. How many years have you been writing fanfiction?
I started writing things to be read in the spring of 2013, so...eleven years. which is insane to think about.
4. Do you read or write more fanfiction?
I read a lot more, but I am trying to set aside dedicated time to write...at least once a week.
5. What is one way you’ve improved as a writer?
I think my phrasing has improved a lot. I love writing long, involved descriptions and worldbuilding, plus snappy banter, which is a thing I think I've gotten a lot better at in the last eleven years.
6. What’s the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
not weird per se, but I definitely looked up Indian wedding traditions for my Kanej mehndi fic and Punjabi names for children (also for a Kanej kid!fic), not to mention I tried to figure out how London neighborhoods work for a Lockwood & Co. fic (I still don't know).
7. What’s your favorite type of comment to receive on your work?
The fact that anyone comments at all is a fact that continues to blow my mind, but anyone who tells me that they loved a turn of phrase, a description, or that one particular sentence flowed/hit home/stuck with them? may they be blessed in their endeavors forever.
8. What’s the most fringe trope/topic you write about?
I wrote a Mad Max: Fury Road prompt/fic where all the characters had beast aspects/animal traits but they weren't were-animals, or something like that? Idk, I really wanted to write tiger!Max and lioness!Furiosa, so that's what I stuck with. 9. What is the hardest type of story for you to write?
Multi-chaptered!! It is so hard for me to sustain a continued story with an actual plot. my latest Lockwood & Co. piece, passed down like folksongs was the better part of a year's worth of labor, not to mention heroic beta-ing, and me going back and adding and rewriting and adding some more.
10. What is the easiest type?
Anything in media res, where I can just jump right in and get to the "good stuff," like the kissing or the action. Too often I get bogged down with the "how did we get here?" or "wait, they were against the wall, now they're on the floor? how did that happen?"
11. Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?
Google Docs is the most convenient, also for sharing purposes, though if a document is like, my thesis work, I'd probably use Microsoft or something more permanent. Someday I'll save up enough to get Scrivener...like a grown up.
12. What is something you’ve been too nervous/intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?
I really want to write a sprawling Lockwood & Co fic that's like, involved family trees and weird anecdotes about the Lockwood family, and how ghosts like exist in other places. I would also want to start introducing original characters in different works, but I'm always afraid they'll end up sounding too much like a self-insert. But I'll get there!
13. What made you choose your username?
I had just changed my tumblr handle, and I didn't want the bother of having to keep track of two usernames! so I borrowed a line from a tumblr poem that I admired: "youareiron_andyouarestron." it stuck, and that's been my name ever since.
tagging @dangerously-human, @cats-and-metersticks, @menina89, @linearao3, and @oneofthewednesdays, if they want to!

20 Questions for Writers
I was tagged by @missberrycake thank you lovely ♡
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
38!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
115,027!!! that's so many words
3. What fandoms do you write for?
currently, only Stranger Things. before, i've written for a bunch of RPF - McFly, The Maine, One Direction. don't think i had ever written for a show/movie before
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
crush crush crush - steddie X reader
fuck-marry-kill - steve X reader
it feels like i'm going home - eddie X reader
now i'm ready to start - eddie X reader
love sneaked in with the smell of you - eddie X reader
i find it very funny that my top 5 (actually, my top 9!!!) it's all reader inserts. didn't think they'd be popular at Ao3 hah
5. Do you respond to comments?
i do!!! currently i have a lot of comments to answer to, because i've been a little away from fandom and specifically from writing since last year, and haven't found it in myself to answer them. but i will!!!!! someday
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
me and you (we can't lose) [eddie X reader] definetely. canon compliant. that's all needed to understand lmao but some of the drabbles for my Forever Halloween Challenge are also very angsty and gory
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
basically all my other fics have happy endings, so that's a hard thing to answer lol i think it's relative
8. Do you get hate on fics?
never did, thankfully!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
i've only ever wrote one smut scene for going home and nothing else in english. in portuguese, i've had a series of three short smut fics that i never finished lol. it's not my thing and it's hard for me to do it because of the language barrier in english, i feel insecure about it. i just prefer writing pure fluff in general
10. Do you write crossovers?
never did, no, cause it's usually not something i like to read as well
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i know of
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
also not that i know of but that would be so nice if done with permission!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
also no. i think i'd have a bit of a hard time, but wouldn't be opposed to it
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
i'll say that nothing has ever got me as much as Steddie before. i've always been a reader insert girlie, besides the first fics that i've ever read (Jemi - joe jonas X demi lovato) fics, i'm pretty sure Steddie was the only characters ship that i've read and got completely obsessed over
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
your sweater (up over your head) [stonathan]. this fic is very special to me and a personal challenge in many ways, and i'd love to finish it someday but i'm not sure i'll get back to writing ST, so it's a hard chance
16. What are your writing strengths?
i'd say dialogue! it flows very naturally to me
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
description. haaaate describing things, scenarios, clothes, faces, animals, whatever. i think i'm really mediocre if not entirely bad at it
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
if it's through someone's specific POV, i'm in favor of writing as the character understands it - so if they understand the language, keep it translated and just describe that it was in another language; but if they don't understand, then don't translate either. then you can either put it on a note or make the character who said it translate it. but also, if it's too big of a text, i think it can be annoying. so, mostly short phrases it's good
19. First fandom you wrote for?
McFly rpf reader insert
20. Favourite fic you've written?
ahhh that is such a hard question, i love all my fics so dearly. but i'm gonna go with going home because it's my first and only finished long chaptered fic, and all the research i did for it and everything else involved in writing it that made it a bit more special
Tagging (no pressure): @marvel-ous-m @hbyrde36 @stellarspecter @starryeyedjanai and anyone else who sees it and wants to join in!

20 Questions for Fic Writers
I have been tagged for this by an astonishing amount of people, thank you for thinking of me @chocoluckchipz @ladyofthenoodle @kasienda @rosie-b and @burntwaffle12! 💜
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
58 (+ 1 in hiding because past me couldn't handle having unfinished fics fdgh)
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
333,162 words (+ about 80k of heist AU will be joining this slowly)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Miraculous Ladybug (I have fics for Harry Potter and The Inheritance Games but I don't really consider myself someone who actively writes for those fandom)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Hiding in Plain Sight
don't ask questions you don't wanna know
seven is my lucky number
Save You a Seat
17 days, 2 hours and some odd minutes
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! I wrote all that and someone decided to write back and discuss it with me? of course I will!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
hmm, maybe hold your friends close (but your enemies closer)? but I do regularly get yelled at when someone at the Writers Guild remembers the flowers that we've grown together, so that's a win too
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
probably seven is my lucky number with the sappiest-happiest ending. though the ending that makes me the happiest must be that of Felonies and Other Love Languages
8. Do you get hate on fics?
not really *knocks on wood*
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
no because I'm a coward 😭 (also writing smut is so hard! though it is known that ace people write the best, so maybe I'm naturally talented and just don't know it)
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
not really. in Lost & Found the Teen Titans kind of adopt Adrien but they don't have dialogue because it's not a proper crossover. similarly, in Fighting Dragons with You Cedric Diggory is mentioned and Dramione is canon (to me), but all of that has zero impact on the plot
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that I know of
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes, a few to Russian
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
yes, I tried it a couple times, but only one fic of those did we ever finish.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
love-square!
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
fdgfhj all of my WIPs at the moment? 😂 honestly it would be so nice to have (no one can) rewrite the stars finished (that's my hidden fic, ladrien dating/marichat soulmates), but I don't think I'll ever be excited about it enough again to go back and rewrite the 20k chilling in my docs that I planned to do after realizing the current setup wasn't the best it could be
16. What are your writing strengths?
planning, keeping details in check. I usually tinker enough with details that there's not many inconsistencies left. also, I think I'm good with dialogue and usually with the pacing of information
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
not stressing over how something is phrased and putting down actual words instead. it makes writing so excruciatingly slow and sometimes stressful that I want to get things perfect. also, descriptions are so hard, because I don't want to describe things plainly or in a dull way, but finding interesting ways takes a lot of effort.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I have done it, but honestly most of the time you're probably better off using italics.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Felonies and Other Love Languages <333
tagging @valiantlyjollynightmare @noirshitsuji @sunfoxfic @peachcitt @anna-scribbles if you feel like playing <3

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I never write angsty endings. I guess Needing exercise, a chance to use our skills is the closest, because it's kind of bittersweet?
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? All of my fics end happily, so it's hard to say which is the happiest. Maybe Transformation?
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not yet, knock on wood.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yep, though only about half of my works involve sex. It is always extremely sappy even when it's extremely filthy **cough Everything he's got cough**. Porn with feelings is just my favorite!
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I've written two so far. I suppose Rediscovering what was lost is craziest just because I break up two canon couples that most people love (myself included) and put them with other people, but still, it's not at all a crazy crossover, IMO.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I started to, but it's not finished.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship? Beast/Belle
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I suppose my Gaston/Lumiere smut fic, just because literally no one cares about them as a ship haha!
16. What are your writing strengths? I think I'm good at characterization and description.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Plotting, dialogue, humor.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I don't really understand this question... I only speak and write in English. In my BatB fics, I will use French words and phrases occasionally, but not full dialogue.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Pride and Prejudice
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I think I have to say Transformation (rated E, 123k words, Beast/Belle and Gaston/Lumiere) because I'm really pleased with how I was able to create a solid, interesting plot with multiple stories woven together, I think I did a good job with the characterization and emotions, and it just has so many tropes and kinks in it that I personally love, so I can read it for my own personal enjoyment!

Thank you for the tag @ameerawrites!!! I'm sorry it took me so long to get my life together and answer it.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
20! Though I do have another ao3 hidden away out there which would bump me up to a whopping 35.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
442,367
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently it's exclusively tlou though I do have a handful of shorter Stranger Things fics on my ao3 as well.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
of wounded minds
all i needed was someone (when the whole wide world was young)
your words mean nothing so take 'em back (i don't wanna be carrying this weight on my shoulders)
i hope that we make you proud ('cause this town's just an ocean now)
Leather Jacket
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try to!! I am really behind in all things fic right now in life, but I'm working on making my way through and responding (even if the comments are literally months old. Sorry everyone)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Anyone feel free to call me out if this is a bold-faced lie, but I think almost every single fic I have ever written has a happy ending. I am obsessed with happy endings. Bring on the angst for 90% of the story, but it doesn't end in some degree of comfort I am OUT.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Literally any of them but personally I think it's my follow up fic to Next Door Neighbor AU used to wish i was anything to anywhere (to anyone)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope! A fact which I am very grateful for.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I don't!
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Personally I can't ever combine fandoms. Characters of one world belong in that world. They can't just be commingling all willy-nilly like that!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, a very long time ago.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven't!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
I...I don't think I can answer that question
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
There's some extra chapters to go along with my Wounded Minds epilogue fics that I've started, but I don't know if I'll ever finish them to be honest.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think when I'm in the zone for writing the answer is definitely dialogue. Who knows if it's any good, but it comes the most naturally.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptions
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I know SOME Spanish, but I know the Duolingo version of it so like, I don't trust myself to do much beyond a few phrases. Thankfully I have a few friends who speak some Spanish too so I would probably ask for help :)
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I would like to preface this by saying I was 12 but...High School Musical
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
That's an impossible question. I have love and pride in varying degrees and for varying reasons for so many fics that I have written throughout the years. Even the ones that weren't good I know helped me improve over time! So, just gonna give this question a big ol' PASS.
In return I tag anyone who wants to do it. Just tag me in it because I would love to see your answers!

20 questions for fic writers!
Thank you @spockandthings for tagging me in this game!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I currently have 42 works on AO3.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
306,632 words. Which isn't too terrible, I don't think.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Most of my fics are from the Carry On Universe (Simon Snow Trilogy), but I have been writing a lot of Sandman fics as well.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
They are all from the Carry On universe.
I Just Want Your Extra Time And Your..... -> 611 kudos
Falling Back To You -> 511 kudos
So Close, We've Always Been -> 431 kudos
Thighs and Prejudice -> 304 kudos
The Best Game You Can Name -> 276 kudos
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do, but I am terrible at being consistent with it. If I am able to sit down and just get them over with, then yeah I can do it. But if I'm disrupted, then it'll take me another length of forever to get back to them. To whomever's left me a kind comment, I see you, and I love you.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't like writing angsty endings... I'll write a ton of angst within a fic, but I like to make them happy... You know, I think With Open Arms - Don't Stay For Me might be the angstiest one. It was my first fic and it was my attempt to process Wayward Son and all the emotions that came with it. It was also the first fic I wrote after not writing for almost a decade so...
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All my fics have some sort of happy ending, but I think the one that is my favourite happy ending is Speak My Language of Love, because I liked how both Simon and Baz were able to express to each other how much they love.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Thankfully no.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Ooooo yes... I do. I have written all sorts of smut. Sexting, rimming, frotting, switching top and bottom... But I've mostly written Simon and Baz smut. I haven't written Dreamling smut... yet. What's funny is that I did a search of how many E-rated fics I have, and it's only 10.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not yet. I DO want to write a Watford-era crossover fic between Dreamling and SnowBaz, where Morpheus and Hob just view the events of the Trilogy, but through an outsider's perspective. Yes... I plan on making it very snarky.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of. I certainly hope not...
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but I would love to! I have several authors both in the Carry On and Sandman fandom that I would love to co-author with.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Oh that's just mean. I'm currently obsessed with Dreamling, but SnowBaz will always have a special place in my heart.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have been slowly chipping away at Youth Without Youth and No One To Save, but my motivation to write SnowBaz explicitly has all but diminished. It's been difficult to get back into the habit of writing because I have been feeling burnt out since last year, and so I am only writing when I feel an urge and I'm only writing things that give me a happy motivation.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I have been told that I write angst and fast-paced action scenes really well. I have also been told that I am really good at world building.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Grammar and syntax. I also repeat sentences and words and phrases. I m also not great at descriptive, flowy prose. I tend to be very choppy with my writing.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I mean you do you. But if you plan on doing it, please provide some sore of translation if you want me to understand what's going on.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Ok so... I have been playing in fandom since Prue died on Charmed (so like 2001, I think), but the first fanfic I wrote was in 2004, I think and it was a Charmed fanfic with Piper/Leo. I found it the other day, in one of my OLD emails and OUFFF... I've been writing on and off since then, taking hiatuses especially during school and most recently during a decade of fandom repression and depression. I have written for Charmed, Grey's Anatomy (RPG), Criminal Minds, Carry On, and now The Sandman.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Oh that's difficult. Ok so for Sandman, I loved how How Beautiful it is That We Exist turned out. For Simon Snow, it's a tie between Thighs and Prejudice, The Best Game You Can Name, and Falling Back To You

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
somehow I need to write words before typing the number 55 because otherwise this very functioning website fucks up the formatting
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
77,339
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Sad Cops The last ones were for Blind Ermittelt, Detective Anna, Endeavour and Polizeiruf Frankfurt.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
In Which Everybody Regrets Their Life Choices (Daredevil)
The Tale of the Beautiful Professor (Guardian)
Tee Mit Folgen (Tatort Berlin)
Adam, Vincent und die Eule (Polizeiruf Frankfurt)
A Sickbed Visitor (Society of Gentlemen)
OK, technically there's another Daredevil Fic on 2, but it's a collection of shorter fills for a prompt meme so does that count?
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. I try to respond to all but occasionally fall in the "Oh yeah I will do that later" trap where I...y'know...don't do it.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I had a whole paragraph here, about how I don't usually write Angst and wanted to name a few sort-of-angsty ones, and then I remembered, that I did in fact write Never To Be Told which is very angsty.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
A lot, but Look Not Into My Eyes has a veeeery sappy ending.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
None yet
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Well, if you equate "crazy" with "nobody but me wrote it" then it's my Ein Fall For Zwei/Tatort Saarbrücken Crossover. But honestly: a crossover between two crime shows that feature abusive dads whose heads make sudden contact with blunt instruments and the resulting fallout from that is not particularly crazy. I also have this idea for a Blind Ermittelt/Allmen one, but as it's so often the case that's all vibes, no plot so far.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I once wanted to, and we even discussed some plot ideas, but then I got ghosted
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Yeah, Niko/Alex caught me like few others, but I also always will have a soft spot for Till/Felix
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Currently, I'm having a really hard time with my Alex & Sophie pre-canon fic, because it requires writing Alex shortly after the attack, and I am not sure if I can do that.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm quite good at character-voices, both in dialogue and when internal-monologuing
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Getting from one scene to the next. Also in dialogues the right amount of surrounding description. I tend to start off with a screenplay, and then turn it into character says one sentence, followed by three paragraphs of description.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I hate it. Either your POV character understands what is said, and then you can tell the audience what is being said, or they don't, and then you just write "they were talking in XY." Don't make me use Google Translate to understand your fic. And don't make me read phrases like heiße schokolade mit gepeitschter creme, because your foreign language knowledge also comes from Google Translate. (That is an example from an actually published book, but my feelings on that transcend the fanfic/pubfic barrier, and I also read enough bullshit in fanfic).
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter. As in write-write. I don't think I ever wrote down any of the Sailor Moon self insert I made up.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Hmm I wrote A Sickbed Visitor with me as the target audience in mind, and considering that, I am quite happy that it also ended up being reasonably popular. Because this is the fanfiction for a romance series that doesn't feature one of the main couples but the friendship between two halves of different couples. (Yeah. Having fun writing something is nice. Validation is also nice)
And Es Wird Wieder ein Sommer is well...it's not the same, because it is an Alex/Niko fic, and I always meant it to be one, but it's also about Laura and her relationship with those two and that was lots of fun to think about and write.
No pressure tag for @cricrithings and @tatzelwyrm

20 Qs for fic writers
came across an "anyone who wants to do this" post, so here we go noooo i'm not procrastinating lol
1. How many works do you have on A03? 23 on my old, 18 on my current
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 594,564 orz
3. What fandoms do you write for? descendants mostly on the current ao3, used to be marvel on my old, and now ffvii is working its way onto my page. i've done one offs for jp3, fast and furious, and the 13th warrior. need to finish the tf2 fic. back in my ffn days it was mainly rent with across the universe and spamalot thrown in
4. What are your top five fics by kudos? as of writing this: 1) nothing in this world but myself to protect me 2) friends never say goodbye 3) in time gone by 4) if only 5) i just want our time to be slower and gentler, wiser, free [it's hilarious to me that the second and third most kudo'd fic are for my now notps lmao]
5. Do you respond to comments? i try to, but sometimes i feel awkward if i haven't replied to something in so long and feel like it's too late for me to comment orz
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? oh probably broken truth for sure. i put banner through the wringer in that one
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? i feel like most of my fic has a HEA, despite everything lmao
8. Do you get hate on fics? no, not really hate, at least not any more lol mostly it's just entitlement lots of times
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? what kind this says lol non/dubcon, porn with feelings, pwp, kink with feelings. like, what else is there lmao
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? no, not generally. closest i've gotten is writing fic for an rp i was part of lol oh, i mean, i do create pokemon aus of things, but rarely do i actually write anything for them
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? not that I'm aware of
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? yeah, someone asked permission to translate friends never say goodbye into chinese. outside of that, no idea
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? nope, just done rp within my group
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? ah shit lmao how can you make shipper trash such as myself pick an all time favorite ;-;
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? oh, probably scars. might have to actually go back and mark than as abandoned weh
16. What are your writing strengths? people might say smut, but i think it's dialogue, having the characters speak naturally and believably. the one good aftereffect of being a former theater kid
17. What are your writing weaknesses? description by far. i don't think i can describe things for shit, so i'm surprised when people comment on it
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i do not do this because i personally know i'd butcher other languages. i usually just denote another language is being spoken by doing this, if the pov character understands it: "[I am saying this sentence in German]," he said. otherwise, i'd just say something like "they said something in Language" or just use a few phrases or words here and there cause i am not creative xD
19. First fandom you wrote for? ever? uhhhhh sailor moon or tenchi muyo. the fandom for the first fic i ever posted was rent tho
20. Favourite fic you’ve written? either the gift of paradise or i just want our time to be slower and gentler, wiser, free. both source materials intimidated the hell out of me, but i feel like the tone and voice of the material shines through, brightly at that!
Tagging @descendantofthesparrow @auradon-bore-a-don @dragonwrangler @karenhikari and anybody who wants to do this meme!
#shippy speaks#writing#meme#hope no one minds that i tagged them lol#feel free to ignore if so no worries

writing game: 4, 13, 32!!
Well, that was fast!
4. "Defenestration" was my favorite word as a kid. I've wanted to write a fic called "Epithalamion" for a while now, because I think it's an excellent fic title, but I keep getting stuck. "Obstreperous" is also a good one, because it sounds exactly like its meaning.
13. What is a subject matter that is incredibly difficult for you write about? What is easy?
I find romance difficult, which is ironic, because I write a lot of shippy oneshots! But my work has a lot of unrequited feelings and introspection; when I try writing meet-cutes or flirting, I have trouble. On a bigger scale, I think plot is the hardest part for me. I love writing lush descriptive prose, but making it all work towards something novel-length is daunting!
Easy: introspective angst. I've spent a lot of time feeling angsty and introspective and I think it's rubbed off on my writing. 🤣
32. What is a line from a poem/novel/fanfic etc that you return to from time and time again? How did you find it? What does it mean to you? Ooh, this is a hard one!
I'm going to go with this line from Keats' Ode to a Nightingale:
Through the sad heart of Ruth, when, sick for home,
She stood in tears amid the alien corn;
I read this in high school, I think. I don't think it was for a class; I think I was reading an anthology of poems and found it there. The phrase "alien corn" has stuck in my head ever since. It's such a concise and good summary of homesickness, being surrounded on all sides by something that doesn't quite feel right. And the juxtaposition between "alien" and "corn" (the staple crop, the thing that quite literally gives you your daily bread) is so memorable.
Anyway, it paints a very clear picture in my head, and when I'm alone in a new place I often think of it.
Thanks for the ask! <3

Fic Writer 20 Questions
I was tagged by @texasdreamer01 😊
1.) How many works do you have on ao3
9, though some of them are only visible if you're logged in.
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
64,757, not a lot but there's nothing wrong with that.
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
Star wars, lots of Star Wars. I think I wrote for Yuri!!! On Ice before? I used to write for Marvel, I did a little bit of Phantom of the Opera (very little), I have some unpublished Avatar the Last Airbender fics, and I am currently writing for Our Flag Means Death 🤭 I hope around depending on what I feel/am hyperfixating on, but ultimately it always comes back to Star Wars.
4.) What are your top five pics by kudos?
Fighting For Your Power - one of my first published Star Wars fics. Definitely not my favorite and also unfinished, a common occurrence with my ever changing brain.
If I Could Hold You For a Minute (Darling, I'd do it Again.) - Codywan. A little hurt comfort thing that takes place after the Rako Hardeen incident
Orbital Decay - another Codywan fic, probably my longest posted fic at this point in time.
And cowboy is his name - a short little bobadin cowboy au that I'm thinking of adding more onto, whether it's little snippets or an actual story is to be seen.
To Be A Good Soldier - a Commander Cody fic, kinda my own little headcanon as to how he got his scar.
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do, it just takes me a while to get there. I'm always a little slow on the up taking. I reply to comments because someone took a brief moment of their time after reading my story to let me know their thoughts, and it means the world to me, so the least I can do is respond to their comments.
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
A fic that no longer is on AO3 🙈 I took it down after a couple years of like....no one reading it, and decided to keep it to myself, like a dragon. The story is hurt comfort without any of the comfort lol. Poor poor Garashir, doomed by the narrative and also me.
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oooooh let me think. Recently they all have happy endings because I myself need one. Uhhhhhh. Probably Orbital Decay. My babies get together very tentatively at the end.
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
Ehhh my fics don't get seen by a wide enough audience I think. The only 'hate' I've ever gotten was someone demanding me tag something, but it wasn't even very hateful so. No I guess not.
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Once upon a long time ago, but I haven't in ages and frankly it makes me uncomfortable to write, always has.
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I don't, it's not something that holds my interest.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of...😳
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
No sir-y
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yes and no? It's a collaborative fic, but I'm not the one writing it, I just had the base idea and give more ideas for the concept and squeal and cry over it.
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
It changes with the tides, but how can I pick one set of my beloveds over another?
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
All of them. Lol uhh I really really wanna get the Codywan AU fic written, but I'm at a point where I currently don't have it in me, I don't have much writing in me at all right now.
16.) What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. I love dialogue. I've also been told, and I have to trust what people tell me, that I'm very descriptive and also know how to write a fight scene.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
Lack of confidence in my skills. Inability to finish what I've started. Making sure I'm keeping people in character, and also I tend to lack in the plot department.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Well, I think so long as you...ugh this one is tricky cause I don't know how to phrase it. I like to write in other languages in very very small doses. A little smattering here and there. But also, I feel like it's important to know the language you're writing in or consult someone who does for accuracy? Idk how to explain it.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Marvel. Marvel. And more Marvel. I had a very long story (with no actual plot) posted to a different site, and then took to writing people's requests for Marvel ship fics for a time.
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
Uhhh idk To Be a Good Soldier? I'm not entirely sure. Maybe it will be the little OFMD fic idea I had, but who knows.
Softly nudging @poibynt @missypup @frostbitebakery and anyone else who might like to do this

20 questions for fic writers
tagged by @ashleyfanfic !
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
21 on neallo, 5 on blondiest
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
212k: 121k on neallo + 91k on blondiest
3. What fandoms do you write for?
death note and (allegedly) stranger things
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
i'm going to exclude my stranger things ones or i will only have one death note fic listed lol.
there's nothing i hate more than what i can't have
hot soup on a cold day
i want to hold you (hostage)
engaged
there's nothing i want but you
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
on neallo, yes. every single one. i reply bc it's a nice way to connect with the readers :-) i am really really behind on blondiest comments but there are also fewer since it's been so long since i updated anything 😭
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
probably nothing hurts like you do, though idk if that counts bc it's a prequel to holdyouhostage. shot in the dark has a not-happy ending, but it's meant to be very open-ended.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
hmmm!!! most of my fics have happy endings, to be honest. i think i would perhaps say it's you and me, that's my whole world bc that's my most indulgently hurtcomfort story 🥰
8. Do you get hate on fics?
i have! but only on one occasion (though it was a decent number of comments). i was told that i was an example of why modern fans can't write mello and near lmfao (<- was into death note in 2008. if i suck at writing them, i come by it honestly 😇)
9. Do you write smut. If so, what kind?
hehe. yes. i have written a pretty good variety of types of smut. i tried listing out the various acts here and then was like... let me not do this to myself. “what kind” ? hopefully the kind that is at least kinda hot 💋
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
no not really! i wouldn't rule it out but i've never had an idea for one. i did once write a fic loosely based on ‘this is just to say’ by william carlos williams, but it is not on neallo or blondiest and isn't for a fandom i have posted about on here.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
lmfao yeah, very recently
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes! i had a very short fic translated into french on the aforementioned mystery account lol
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
yes!!! voted most likely is a collaboration with my darling friend dee, and i have several fics with the beloved @empressofthewind
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
meronia. it hit me so violently and has not let go for a full year. it's so over for me forever
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
hmmmm. honestly, i have my doubts about finishing voted most likely, sadly. i feel like the major, real conflicts were already solved, and the plans i had for the rest of the plot feel very drawn out now. i just want to let them be happy immediately lol. maybe i need to brainstorm a new ending 😔
16. What are your writing strengths?
i think my dialogue skills are pretty strong :-)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
i am not, i don't think, particularly strong at descriptions of locations or of physical appearances lol
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
i prefer to have it in english and italics rather than including actual full phrases from the other language, bc i don't want to fuck up the grammar in another language and i also don't want to confuse readers. occasionally i will use individual words from another language (ingerasul meu lol), but i try to always provide in-text cues for what it is being said.
19. First Fandom you wrote for?
lmfao...................... time princess
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
oh god. i want to hold you (hostage), hands down. it's not close. i spent so much time on that story, and i became very fond of it.
i am soooooooo sleepy so i'm doing the lazy bitch thing and saying that if you see this you should consider yourself tagged 💋

I was tagged by @gwenllian-in-the-abbey, thank you so much for the tag! (and sorry that it has taken me forever to do this)
How many works do you have on AO3?
Three currently (I’ve written more for other fandoms but I orphaned those years ago)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
55,643
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I only post for Realm of the Elderlings, but I also sometimes write Kingdom Hearts fics purely for myself
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Uhh, I only have three on my current account, but in order, Someone Other Than Us, After The Sun Has Set and then Ever Your Fool.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, or at least I try to! I have a bad habit of thinking my response but never actually writing it down and then forgetting about it completely... But I try my best to remember to reply, even if it ends up taking a while.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Neither of my finished fics/oneshots have closed endings, so I guess it depends on what you imagine happens afterwards. Neither of them are exactly happy though.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I haven’t finished posting it yet, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise that After The Sun Has Set will soon take that title. I mean, it's already happier than anything else that I've written
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I do, occasionally. I don’t know exactly how to describe what kind, other than that my smut scenes tend to be quite sad?? I like using them as a way to explore or exaggerate some complicated character dynamic, and I guess that’s why they often turn into something at least a little uncomfortable. As much as I enjoy reading smut that’s all sexy and romantic, for some reason I can’t write it myself at all haha
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Nah
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Nope
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Fitzloved is my current favourite (and I've never been this intense about a ship before), though Zemyx (from Kingdom Hearts) is the one I always eventually return to
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Last spring I wrote about 45k words of post-Assassin’s Fate happy ending AU. The outline for it is massive, and what I’ve written so far covers maybe one tenth at most. I know I will never have the patience to finish it, but somewhere at the back of my mind I refuse to let it go. I’ve been trying to see if I could turn parts of it into one-shots or something, but who knows what I’ll end up doing 🤷
16. What are your writing strengths?
I’d say I’m fairly good at characterization, as well as building up tragic and angsty scenarios. My favorite thing when writing fanfiction is to take some (usually sad) aspect of a character/relationship/etc and then dive deep into that, and I think I do it pretty well.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
My prose, especially detailed descriptions and creative similes and metaphors and the like. Writing those does not come naturally to me at all, and I feel like I often get stuck using cliches and specific words or phrases, and then have to spend half my time editing to make things less repetitive.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Not my thing, I prefer to keep everything in one language.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter, I think? Way back in like 2008 or 2009.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
From RotE stuff, After the Sun Has Set. It’s the first time I’ve managed to fully write, edit and post a multi-chapter fic from start to finish, and that alone is a huge achievement for me. Writing every chapter from a different character’s PoV was also a really fun (if sometimes frustrating) challenge and I’m really glad to have done it. Outside of RotE, a few years back I wrote this super self-indulgent novel-length Zemyx fic. I never posted it anywhere and it’s kind of crap quality-wise so I never will, but since it’s basically just every romance trope I’ve ever liked, it’s fun to reread for comfort every once in a while.
#tag game#not going to tag anyone bc im so late to this and cant remember at all which of my mutuals have already done it

20 Questions
tagged by both @toopunkrockforshul and @writingordinaryrealities so I guess I'd better do it LOL
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
18!
2. What’s your total AO3 words count?
202,063
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently only Greenwing & Dart by Victoria Goddard. In the past I wrote a teeny bit of Legend of Korra fic, and then one Check, Please! fic and one Pokemon fic.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
falling and falling and falling, A Beifong Woman's Guide to Getting the Girl, tender is the night, to face unafraid the plans that we made, and protective measures
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to, and I usually do immediately after I post a fic. (I always end up running behind, though.) I do so because I am genuinely SO grateful to everyone who reads and comments on my stories. Every comment is a gift.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
To call it angst is perhaps overselling the yearning happening there, but probably protective measures.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I had to go back and look at fics I've barely even thought about in years, but probably tender is the night, tbh.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope! I am not a popular writer. (thank god)
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I have begun to dabble, though I don't know how to quantify it? it's smut. LOL
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I still have that unfinished Carol-inspired Check, Please! au. I'm probably never going to go back to it, but I maintain that the vibes were immaculate.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Don't think so!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not yet, but how cool would that be?
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No, and tbh the idea of doing so is intimidating as hell, but I'm sure it would be fun.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
What do you mean "favorite"? I'm supposed to pick? I can't even pick a current favorite, considering I'm writing a whole polycule of various ships for G&D and I love them all.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I've accepted that my older unfinished works are going to stay that way, but sometimes I do think about The Journey. The end of that fic was going to involve Jinora and Opal leaving the Eastern Air Temple, to be followed by a sequel where they travelled to Zaofu, then the Southern Water Tribe, and then through the Fire Nation. The third story in the series would have brought them to Republic City, where they would establish Air Temple Island. The story as I began it just had too many plot holes, though, and I ended up losing interest in the primary romantic relationship.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I do a decent job with pacing. It turns out that I'm good at planning out a cohesive narrative that will play out over the course of a series; working out the snags is part of the fun. I like when unnoticed details are given greater/changed meaning or depth later on. (I learned that from @ourimpavidheroine!) Oh and my friends say I write pining well, LOL.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Figuring out plots driven by anything but the characters' emotional beats. (This is why I've written thousands of words of fanfic this year, and simply cannot get an original novel out of the planning stages.) I so wish I could write a complicated political plot, or a mystery, but I think those things are beyond me. Weaving in description alongside dialogue is also tricky for me, I always feel like I fall into using the same phrases over and over.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don't speak any other languages well enough to do it, but it would be very neat.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Pokemon, *way* back in the day.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
*gasp* How dare you make me pick just one. I guess it has to be hello, my old heart, though. I just am so proud of that fic. It's not just that it's the kind of thing that I've dreamed of writing for a long while (slowburn, lots of yearning, LONG) but that I managed to do it during a summer where I was struggling with just about everything else in my life. I'm very fond of the world it's set in, and I have so many plans for both prequels and sequels to it.
I'm tagging @ourimpavidheroine, @assistant-blogkeeper, and anyone else who thinks this would be fun! (no pressure to play along, though <3)
