Seiyaaaaaaa!!!!

Ohhhh ok, so I had actually forgotten about this WIP completely until I was looking over my WIPs.

I actually DO have a few pages written, so I'll be sharing a few lines.

The idea is that Dream a Beta who works as a bar tender at this fancy lounge. At the same time, he also volunteers at his sister's shelter for Omegas. In this universe, Omegas are often mistreated, and end up in bad situations, and so this is a much needed service. She uses the money from the family's large coffers in order to fund it.

So Dream is asked to come and spend time with their newest patient, an Omega who hasn't had a heat in over two years (which is very concerning) due to stress and an abusive relationship.

When Dream meets this patient, a Robert Gadling, he recognizes him as someone he's seen on occasion at the lounge, once a bright and confident person, and eventually (after pairing up with his Alpha mate), has regressed into himself.

The story will tackle recovery after years of gaslighting and emotional abuse. Eventually, Hob will open up more to Dream and feel safe and comfortable with him.

Also, because it's me, I may throw in some angst here and there.

Here's a snippet :D

Tee smiles at him, before opening the door and stepping inside. She motions for Morpheus to stay by the door until explicitly told he can enter the space. He may not be an active volunteer, but he knows well enough that allowing the patients some sort of agency is extremely important, especially in the beginning of their healing journey. After what Morpheus learned already about Robert Gadling’s situation, that agency is all the more important.   From what he can see, the room is small, but cozy, with soft carpeting, and a few pieces of furniture. It’s nearly reminiscent of a hospital room, but with added warmth. Morpheus also can’t help but notice the overwhelming tangy scent in the air. That of a distressed omega. At the opposite end of the room, by the window, stands a man, the omega in question no doubt. He has his back to them, staring out at the traffic and people passing by on the streets below. Morpheus watches as Tee approaches the man and calmly puts a hand on his arm.  “Hi Robert, how are you feeling?” she asks him, her voice soft and calm. Tee’s gift is always being able to put the people around her at ease. It’s as if they all know they can rely on her to be there for them when they need a kind smile on a friendly face.  “Tired. Had trouble sleeping last night,” says Robert, still staring out the window. From what Morpheus can see, Robert looks like a very thin man, with fine brown, chin-length hair. The gray hoodie he’s wearing looks like it’s completely taken over his body. “Is it the pain in your arm?” she asks, flipping through his patient file.  “Pain in my head, I think,” he says, with a sardonic chuckle. “Had one of the worst nightmares to date, last night.”  “Have you recorded it, for Doctor Greene to look at?” “Yeah. Um–Eleanor, from room two-fifty-six? She came by about an hour ago and she sat with me while I journaled.”

Small story time about my husband...

He is a straight, white (Mediterranean), cishet man. Like me, he grew up in a VERY traditional, family-first household.

The difference is that, where I eventually realized and began to embrace my queerness, he is not at all queer and didn't feel the need to learn anything about LGBTQ issues.

This is mainly due to the fact that he had his bubble of friends, and that was enough. He'd held onto the belief that "you can do what you want so long as you didn't hurt me or mine."

I will also say that out of his group of friends, he is one of the more open-minded ones. At the time of us beginning to date, there may have only one person more progressive than him. He's willing to listen to the experiences of others and take that into consideration when making his opinions.

Because this is typical of Mediterranean dudes, they'd make the gay jokes and stupid comments. And a lot of them held onto archaic, patriarchal ideas (rooted in deeply internalized toxic masculinity).

Then he met me and slowly started to learn and listen when it came to Queer Issues and the struggles that we faced every day. He's gotten to know people who are Enby and Trans and has started to fight for them.

He needed that exposure to my life and the people important to me in order to truly begin his journey of understanding.

He is now trying to do the same for his friends. It's taking time because 30+ years of Mediterranean Toxic Masculinity is VERY difficult to shift. But he's working at it, in the way he knows how.

By discussing and sharing stories and experiences.

Everyone has to start somewhere, and everyone deserves the grace to make mistakes along the way.

Adding onto this... say what you will about her, but you cannot deny that she is a GENIUS when it comes to marketing and promoting herself.

I also enjoy her music. She has some fun catchy songs and also some profound poetic ballads. All that, though, doesn't mean shit if she can't promote herself. She used whatever hype or controversy surrounding her in order to market her brand. And it fucking worked. She is the top selling artist of her generation, and it does not look like she's close to slowing down.

And the girl can fucking PERFORM. She's there, giving 1000% to every show.

So yeah, that's the hype behind her. She's a master at cultivating the parasocial relationship between her and her fans. She uses any and all news about her to promote herself, and she has LEGIT catchy music.

I get that she isn't everyone cup of tea and that she's a problematic person. I really do. I'm not saying that Taylor doesn't deserve to be criticized because she ABSOLUTELY does. But, I look at all the problematic artists from the 80s and 90s and have to narrow my eyes.

Innyway, that's my two cents. As someone who is a fan, but not to the degree of spending $1000 to see her in concert.

it's so weird to me that taylor swift is like. That Big A Deal. I don't even think her music is entirely without merit it's just so resoundingly mid that I'm mystified by her enduring popularity

I can’t NOT choose Dreamling Reincarnation 👀

:D Hello! Thank you for the ask!

So I haven't written anything for this yet, but it was the first Dreamling plot idea I wanted to write.

My idea is that, Dream and Hob finally get together and decide to screw the "possibility of Hob's ruin" because he's technically not mortal.

Well, The Kindly Ones don't really give a shit about technicalities, and they love finding loopholes to fuck with Dream.

Long story short, Hob dies... Like DIES-dies. Death shows up and everything. Thing is, she's fed up of their bullshit, and so she drags Dream (and Hob's soul) to meet with them to plead Hob's case.

While TKO are being all snarky, one of them says something along the lines of how their love is fleeting, unimportant. How they'll forget the other once Hob's soul is recycled.

Hob says something like "You can recycle my soul one hundred times, and I will ALWAYS remember him."

TKO takes that as a challenge. They decide to put the two of them to the test. Or rather, a series of tests. They will have to relive the past 600 years as mortals, dying and coming back over and over. The challenge will be to find each other in each lifetime and fall in love.

The kicker is that if they fail to find each other (not sure if this should be a one time thing, or if they'll get three chances because EVERYONE LOVES THINGS IN THREES) they lose and Hob dies, forever separated from Morpheus.

I came up with different scenarios for each century, like Morpheus is the son of the land lord who's land Hob is indentured to; Or like, maybe in 15th century England, people look at Morpheus funny and worry he's a witch, but maybe Hob puts himself in the line of fire in order to prevent Morpheus from being hurt; Or even something related to the AIDS crisis in the 1980s.

The point is that no matter how long they have with each other, they will always choose to come back. They will always choose to find each other again.

Of course, to add stakes, maybe one (Morpheus) will lose hope towards the end? Maybe he'll try to bargain with TKO to spare Hob's soul? Maybe he bargains to remove his influence on him?

Who knows?
