⚠️I know shit about guns, only the basics. If u know something let me know cuz you'll see i got problems identifying real life inspirations.

Curiously most of firearm stuff in the game files (like sticker textures) are in german(?) mixed with some english terms.

HOMELAND SECURITY SNIPER RIFLE (CA8-2)

Pretty much a military large cal sniper rifle from RRC, according to the textures;

In the game files is stated as "SNIPERRIFLE" and "CONNORSNIPERRIFLE". Basically no variation;

It's stated is a 12.7mm anti-material large caliber, possibly 12.7x99mm (.50 BMG);

According to the game files it's inspired in the H&K CA8-2 or SL8, probably a "futuristic" version mixed with other tactical sniper rifles;

SCHMOT BENDER rifle scope according to the textures, probably a reference to Schmidt & Bender. There's a "Onrara 50'S /30.24™" next to it, maybe it's a name? Who knows;

Likely adaptable and interchangeable parts: barrel, scope, stock, bipod;

HOMELAND SECURITY ASSAULT RIFLE (CZ1010)

In the game files is a stated as "M4SWATRIFLE";

The stock feels inspired in SCAR H but the overall rifle seems like an futuristic AR-15 style rifle mix or CZ BREN;

.45 cal || I couldn't find this specific cal for a "M4" which is usually 5.56 NATO but i did find .458 SOCOM and .450 Bushmaster;

The textures point out for 2 possible manifactures: "Voge Force Log Ltd" or "GOCISSELE AUTOSTARS";

All SWAT, Riot and CL guards use this shit - def generic;

Futuristic holographic sight, likely with target locking;

SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL (AZPR40 SZ)

According to the textures is a generic semi-auto from KAISAN-Phoenix;

Found 3 variations in the game files "COPGUN", "COPGUNB" and "TODDGUN";

.457 cal (it's an airgun cal irl), likely to be .40S&W according to the textures but should be .45 ACP;

Looks heavely inspired in the Smith & Wesson M&P45 full size with a different grip;

PISTOL (MS853 BLACK HAWK)

In the game files is stated as "DANIELGUN" (ta~daaa);

Stated as .355 cal, basically a 9mm (by Jonbal Ammunition in this case);

It's the only time we see this pistol being used in the game;

No idea which irl pistol they exactly used as inspiration cuz feels like a mix of guns like Colt 1908, Beretta M9 or even Stechkin APS;

HANK'S REVOLVER (357 MAGNUM)

I couldn't identify the manufacturer, i only know about this eagle stamp;

In the game files is named as "HANKGUN" (taa~daaaaa);

.357 Magnum cal;

Could be inspired in a Ruger GP100 or maybe S&W 686? Idk, looks like a 6" barrel with polymer pistol grip;

The round headstamp normal map in the game files states "P635AC .40 RWS" or the inverse (why everything is .40 in this shit);

PUMP ACTION SHOTGUN (????)

In the game files is named as "FUNFAIRSHOTGUN" and "SHOTGUN";

Probably a generic 12 gauge;

There's a deleted variation (Hunter one) from the deleted section of Pirate's Cove (last img). Got the exact same stock and pistol grip from the CZ1010;

I honestly can't pinpoint what real life gun they used as inspiration, maybe an oversized Remington 870 Marine Mag with some modifications (shorter barrel for example)? Who knows;

ROCKET LAUNCHER (RPG-7)

In the game files name is "ROCKETLAUNCHER";

Pretty straightforward RPG-7. Classic. 😁🥃

MACHINE GUN (M2)

In the game files is named "MACHINEGUN" (ta~daaaa), if it's the right one ofc;

Reminds me of a Browning M2HB;

Bushmaster BA50

A massive and somewhat out of proportion bolt-action rifle chambered in 12.7x99mm (50 BMG). Originally designed and produced by Cobb Manufacturing, they would later sell the rights to Bushmaster. The BA50 attempts to incorporate some of the ergonomics of the AR-15/AR-10 platform. The noticeably gigantic muzzle brake does cut back on recoil quite a bit, even though as a bolt-action rifle it doesn’t have too many moving parts to add to the momentum. (GRH)

Note. To the best of my knowledge this is not based on  any existing Fallout Equestria storyline, nor does it follow any particular plot in Fallout 4. This is just the narrative that popped into my head as I worked on this piece.

      Stone Mane scrambled under the burned out remains of the long abandoned bus. With some form of concealment from his enemy he dropped the now empty magazine from his Wasteland manufactured assault rifle. Lying on his back he started rummaging around in his prewar web gear for a loaded one.

      The stallion had found another magazine and had just rocked it into place when he heard the sound of his gigantic foe running toward his location. Suddenly a massive pair of canine paws/feet came into view. They stopped in front of him. The earth pony froze as his opponent began sniffing the air attentively. From under the bus he watched as paws began slowly pacing around the area. Searching for him.

      This seemed to go on forever as the War Hound continued its search in an ever widening pattern; just when he thought the beast had given up the chase the paws returned to in front of him. Suddenly two great, clawed hands/paws reached down grabbed the bottom edge of the bus. In one quick, violent motion the multi-ton bus carcass was flipped away revealing the young stallion to the bright afternoon sun.

     The moment Stone Mane had seen the hands grab the bus he'd flipped the selector on his rifle from semi-automatic to full-auto. Bringing muzzle of his rifle up he centered it on the upper torso the giant canine and squeezed the trigger. The War Hound howled in pain and instinctively raised it arms to cover its head as 30 rounds of 7.62x39mm found their mark. Blood erupted from the creature. Then the earth pony's rifle went silent again as the chamber locked open and smoke rose from the barrel.

     For several seconds nobody moved. Then as the stallion looked on in horror he watched as the War Hound slowly lowered his arms and growled at him. Slobber and blood dripped down on the pony. The 12ft tall canine threw back its head and let loose a horrific howl. Then it lowered its gaze again and reached for the pony.

     Suddenly there was a series of thunderous roars as the War Hound's skull burst as 12.7x99mm AP rounds found there mark. Bits of skull, fur, skin, teeth, eyeballs, brain matter scattered in a wide swath. Stone Mane scrambled out the way as the body of the mutated Diamond Dog fell forward with a sickening thud.  The stallion dove in through the doorway of the long abandoned fire station that he'd been running toward when he'd been forced to take cover under the bus. Finding his last fully loaded magazine frantically reloaded as he took cover behind a buckshot whittled office desk. Panting he pointed the muzzle at the doorway and waited to see if his savior would show themselves.  Crows had already arrived and were beginning to peck at corpse.

    After a few minutes he heard the sound of hoofsteps crunching on the ruined asphalt. Still out view they stopped. The stallion flinched when there was sudden burst of submachine gun fire that made a couple of crows explode like black party favors and sent the rest of them cawing in fear as they flew off.  Then a familiar voice spoke up.

    "Stone Mane! Ya all right?"

    Running out the door Stone Mane found Applebloom waiting for him.  The mare had a semi-automatic anti-material rifle slung over her shoulders, and 9x19mm PDW in her right hand. Stuck between her teeth was a stalk of grass. She scowled at him for second, but then a smile slowly crept across her face.

    "Now dear. What I tell ya about going out around here. Remember ta bring enuf gun ta the fight!"  

    Then she wrapped her arms around him and gave him a kiss.

12.7x99mm NATO弾を使用するライフルは他にもありますが、 コイツは映画、ゲーム、漫画にアニメと「ま た お ま え か」と言うくらい 出番が多いので、名前は知らなくても見たことあるって人は多いと思います。

その人気ぶりはFalloutシリーズは当然として、

なぜか、OBLIVION と SKYRIM にもMODがあるという。

今回、伏射右手撃ち左手撃ちと、参考動画を漁っていたら見つけた立射のPoseを作ってみました。特に伏射右手撃ちはWikipediaの米兵さんにそこそこ似せる事が出来たのではないでしょうか？

剣と魔法？ウチのシロディールは弾丸と薬莢と硝煙が飛び交う世界なので、これで平常運転ですよ？

後、しれっとサービスショットを混ぜる自分はオブラーの鑑！（すみません、久しぶりの更新でテンション上がってます、そんなことより真後ろに座ってスポッターやりたry）

Hello, I don't see a lot of resources for sniper gun injuries, especially that of .50 cal rounds. I have a character that had the bone at her lower leg (near the ankle) shot by a .50. How bad would the damage be when compared to the same bullet actually hitting the ankle bone or the leg muscle?

So, there’s a weirdness with the .50 round: It’s not supposed to be used for precision shooting. It is used that way. There are many precision rifles chambered to various 12.7mm cartridges, including the .50 BMG. But, they’re not really intended for use on people.

(To be clear, every time I’m talking about a .50 from here on out, I’m referring to the 12.7x99mm rifle cartridge. Incidentally, if you were to simply search for .50 wounds, you would probably get a mix of rifle and pistol wounds, since there are many distinct 12.7mm rounds in circulation.)

The .50 BMG was originally designed during the First World War, with the intention of use as an anti-aircraft round. These entered service in the ‘20s and saw extensive use during WWII as an anti-vehicle round. This is it’s intended role, even today.

In the early 80s, someone got it in their head to build a precision rifle around these things. The result were firearms like the Barrett M82. This 30lb monster is, probably, the rifle you’re thinking of.

Thing is, these rifles fire a round that was intended for taking out vehicles, not people. As a result, they’re designed to deliver a terrifying amount of force to the target. The point is you put one of these into a truck’s engine block to kill it. Which doesn’t work 100% of the time, but a few extra hits will usually get the point across. You put one of these into a person, they’re done.

I don’t have hard data on what these things will do to a person. There is an inaccurate myth that near misses can kill from the atmospheric shockwave alone, which isn’t true. There’s also stories about these things taking limbs off on a hit. Based on what I’ve seen with these rounds and ballistic gel tests, that seems credible. Put one into someone and you could easily end up looking at an eight inch exit wound.

Connecting with the ankle probably means the foot is gone. I don’t mean damaged irrevocably, “we’ll need to amputate.” I mean, anything below the point of impact is missing.

Traditionally, precision rifles used against living targets is chambered somewhere around .30. The classic examples are .308 and .30-06, though there are others, and I’ve heard good things about 6.5mm rounds. Even then, a shot to the ankle means your character probably isn’t walking again without reconstructive surgery. A shot to the bone will break it. A shot into the meat can cause some serious tissue disruption, but assuming it doesn’t nick something important, and the impact didn’t fracture their leg, they should be able to survive.

The use of a .50 rifle as a sniper’s rifle is for extremely long range shooting. These are the guns you break out when you need to hit something over a mile away. If you have a character that needs to put assassinate someone riding in an armored Limo, a .50 will do that. If your character needs to put a bullet in someone from the dark side of the moon, then the .50 is the right choice. Because, if it connects, there’s very little risk of the target getting back up.

Background

In First World War (1914-1918), the tank was developed by United Kingdom to clear the German trenches. In response to the problem, several ideas were has proposed. One of these ideas by using a large caliber rifle, fires the cartridge to penetrate the tank's armor, killing or wounding the tank crew, to stopping the tank. For this goal, German has developed 13.2x92 mm TuF cartridge, fires from Tankgewehr M1918 anti-tank rifle. 

Although German was lost the war, the concept still influenced some European countries were developes a small arms cartridge for against light armor vehicle before Second World War (1939-1945). In 1930s, the United Kingdom starts to develop anti-tank rifle to counter enemy armor vehicle if the war started.

Captain H.C Boys, a designer of Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield, have design a new cartridge by necked up .50 BMG(Browning Machine Gun, 12.7x99mm) to holding a larger projectile, hopes the armor penetration power would be enhanced. Furthermore, the belt also added on the cartridge case, prevents it accidentally chambered in .50 BMG firearms. The cartridge known as .55 Boys (13.9x99mmB). In 1937, it was adopted and produced with Boys Anti-Tank rifle.

However, the rifle was deemed to too weak for against the armor of the early Axis tank in late 1939 to 1940, the British still had to counting on the cartridge and those rifles for few years, since there no better options were available. In 1943, the anti-tank weapon - PIAT was issued, the PIATs' shaped charges proved to be more powerful than the rifle and its cartridge, they were phased out of service when PIAT became the British military's main infantries' anti-tank weapon.

Despite it was too weak for anti-tank purpose, the cartridge still was used around the WW2 in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters. Such as

It also used by Finland, especially their Swedish volunteer during the Winter War and Continuation War. The cartridge was not adopted by any countries after the war.

Making notes:

It is my first belted cartridge 3D model ever made. Since there is no any other countries adopted it today, also, it was not for sport shooting purpose. Therefore, there none of any standard organizations, such as C.I.P  or SAAMI for to assess the cartridge, including measuring the physical dimensions and publish the technical drawings with all dimensions. 

I have to find the original technical drawing from the internet. These drawings with diameter and length of different parts of the cartridge. However, just like most of technical drawings, no depth of rim recess, angle of the rim and case base angle was indicated. It known that was modified from .50 BMG. So, just refering the depth of rim recess, rim angle and case base angle of .50 BMG, and the problems solved.

The headstamp of the cartridge model, it was refer to actual photo from internet.
