Writing Prompt: Class Reveal

It was an akuma fight the lasted all night, it had been long and difficult. All of the temporary heroes had been needed, and there had been no time to retrieve Miraculouses after the fight. All the heroes had to recharge multiple times, so no one was on a timer when the akuma was defeated. The akuma fight had ended just right before school, and all the heroes scrambled to get there on time. A few may have been so tired that they had forgotten to detransform... or maybe all of them.

So Miss Bustier walking into a classroom, half of which are now heroes.

Hm, I'm assuming you mean ones that are still focused around Lila being a schoolyard bully? I generally stay away from those nowadays, instead opting to just read the fics where everyone's aged up and she's presented as more of a supervillain (those tend to not bash anyone else), but I do still have some recs for you!

After some turbulent days that end with five people knowing her secret identity as Ladybug, Marinette loses faith in her ability to keep herself hidden. Wracked with doubts and insecurities, she pleads with Alya to take over as Scarabella, and tries to disconnect from heroing altogether. Along the way, she starts to date Kagami. Hard as she tries, though, she can't stop worrying - especially not once Monarch takes a particular, and personal, interest in her. At the same time, Alya tries to adjust to her new role while she works to uncover who Monarch really is, and makes some realisations about her own wishes. Kagami struggles against a controlling and abusive parent, and a girlfriend who seems bent on destroying herself - with or without Monarch's involvement. And in the meantime, Alix keeps popping her head back in with offers to help (because cool though time travel is, she misses hanging out in her own time).

The BEST gabenath fanfic of all time and I will defend it until the very end щ(゜ロ゜щ) It never fails to make me tear up, and I could read it over and over without getting tired of it, I am constantly hooked at everything that happened in here and more. It's very hard-hitting and emotional and digs deep into my chest and I could sing praises of this fic all the time. Rated M.

2. Calamity Dusk by 11JJ11 (@graaythekwami)

The first fanfic I have ever read for gabenath. In fact, I've read this well before I was ever in the gabenath ship. It's such a fresh take on the series and on gabenath in general that I find myself going back to it over and over again just to get that feeling in my system. The action! The drama! The suspense! It's just 😙👌! Rated T.

3. Birth by carolatavs (@carolatvs)

Every so often I say to myself, hmm, I would like to read Birth again. I would like to feel Gabriel's utter confusion again. I would like to see him struggle with Nathalie. I would like to read it and fantasize about hitting him round the head with a baseball bat ( •̀ ω •́ )✧ Rated T.

4. After Irritation Do Us Start by ScribeofRhapsody (@scribeofrhapsody)

A late addition to this list since I last made one but this fic nestled deep in my chest and wouldn't let go. It's an episode on its own! There's a good intro, a good setup, and frankly well-executed battle scene, and that ending! That finale! I reread the whole fic just to get sucker-punched by the feels of the final parts. Rated T.

5. The Beginning of Goodbye by dishwater_blondie (@dishwater-blondie)

Yes, it's the whole series. Yes I meant all of them. Why not? This series is gut-wrenching, action-packed, devastating, and cathartic—there were many times in the series where I had to put my phone down to go scream silently and digest it all because it's that good. Rated G-T.

To avoid auditioning for the role of Ladybug, Marinette finds herself trying out as Chat Noir for a school performance. It’s just her luck that she’s trying out with Adrien, who she can barely get a sentence out around. So when she’s told to improv the heroes’ patrol night she does the easiest thing– and repeats exactly what Chat Noir said to her on patrol last night.

My thoughts: look, I’m a sucker for identity reveals in kinda stupid ways and this fic is one of the best imo. I genuinely go back and reread this one on a regular basis

A Rational Fear of Dragons by orphan_account | 4k

When Kim gets paired with Marinette for a history project, he learns a lot, though most of it has nothing to do with their project.

My thoughts: unfortunately, the author has deactivated but this fic is still a good read. I always like fics from an outsider’s perspective and this one does it really well. I especially like Kim and Marinette’s relationship in this.

It was just her luck she would be housemates with Adrien Agreste of all people. Now she had to navigate university life while living with her crush as well as trying to keep the trouble-making Chat Noir from getting in her way. It was going to be one hell of a year.

My thoughts: alright, this one is mine. I tend not to like when ppl rec their own works so apologies if you’re the same but I’m really proud of it. It’s still unfinished but its fully planned out and I’m slowly but surely getting there.

My thoughts: this one is rated Teen on AO3 but I'd just say that there is quite a bit of sexual discussion so if you're sensitive to that then maybe skip this one? But this one was really good. It's one I've read more recently and I really enjoyed it (hence why it got the favourite star). It's on the longer side for a oneshot but the pacing is So Good. It's another identity reveal fic (look most fics I read will be identity reveal fics coz they're my fave) but it also has some really good Marichat close/flirty friendship (my favourite side of the love square and one of my favourite dynamics)

My thoughts: buggachat is a staple of this fandom for a reason. This fic is incredible. I think I read it in one sitting? Or thereabouts anyway. I really like sentimonster!Adrien fics and this one was especially good

Yes, it's a Ladynoir bed sharing fic.

My thoughts: yes its another buggachat rec. I actually read this one first before realising it was by buggachat and loved it. Once again, I am a fan of identity reveals. Also I will forever find it amusing that both of them wrote the room off and yet both end up immediately using it

In a recent conversation Ladybug had jokingly suggested to Chat Noir that if Alya knew both of their identities they could contact each other through her. When Marinette shares this conversation with her best friend, Alya thinks it's an idea that they should consider for real. Since it's about his identity, the final decision is left up to Chat Noir. But he'll have plenty of opportunities to talk to Alya, since Ladybug has the flu, and she's filling in as Scarabella.

My thoughts: I love stories where Alya finds out both of them and is then just watching the sitch and sighing heavily. The identity reveal in this one is really good and kinda emotional and I love it

My thoughts: idk if I can rec this coz I technically haven’t finished this one yet. I was reading it as it was coming out and I remember it being really good (I believe if you look hard enough, theres a comment somewhere which says I almost missed my bus coz I was reading the update). I ended up busy and didn’t have time to keep reading it as it updated but I remember really enjoying what I read and I do plan on actually finishing it eventually. This one has been a bit of a staple rec recently so you can also have it from me too lol. 

From memory, this one deserves to be in my favourites but given I haven’t finished it yet, I’m gonna leave it starless for now. But just so you know, its good

It's not too much of an issue, though, and the one time it actually was one (thank you Hawkmoth for a dog-themed akuma) Ladybug was there to help him calm down. The thing is, Alya just had the bright idea for the four of them to go play with puppies. He can handle that, right? Turns out, he can't, and that results in Marinette finally connecting the dots.

Again, unfortunately the author has deactivated but this fic is still worth a read. I'm still a sucker for kinda stupid identity reveals and this one is Very Good. Identity shenanigans, my beloved

My thoughts: very short, very sweet. Adrienino is usually not a ship I read that often but I loved the dynamic in this and it made me desperate to read some more polycule!core four. Alas, it appears there really isn't much atm. I love the final scene so much

My thoughts: I adore fics where LB and CN are genuinely close friends even without knowing each others identities and I also love identity reveals (one-sided but still). This fic is a win-win!

I had to think really hard but I finally decided on something! If you haven't already, PLEASE check out @11jj11 on ao3. I literally love all of their fics (remaining favorite is withered wings love that one sm). What I like about their fics most is that they love doing the rarepairs, and are rly good with the imagery and violence, and FEELINGS. They've literally made me cry more than once with their fics. Pls go check them out.

Of course first of all I love any and all comments but I like ones that instead of like "I love this sm!!!!!!" they like. actually tell me what exactly it was they liked about it. like go into depth of which parts they loved and what they were feeling, and like describe the tension and stuff so I know what the impact of my words are on ppl. Incoherent screaming is cool tho btw im not hating. In fact I incoherently scream a lot.
