Miraculous Descendent Chapter 64: Horror Movie

Previous Chapter

Another day another dollar. A new day a new opportunity. What you do today can improve your tomorrow. There are multiple sayings to reference working hard for your future. And that's exactly what the class is doing with their weekend. Today. Everyone in Miss Bustier's class is helping Nino create a movie for a film contest. Even Chloe showed up because Miss Bustier promised extra credit for everyone who helps, and Chloe is interested in being the lead actress.

Mylène and Kim are hiding behind Miss Bustier's desk with water guns.

"Agent Smith, it's too dangerous! We must evacuate!" Kim urgently shouts as he looks at Mylène

"You're suggesting we run, Officer Jones? After it devoured my family, friends, and even my beloved dog, Sniffles?" Mylène asks with dramatic indignity as she glares at 'Officer Jones' for his supposed cowardice.

She then stops crouching and looks around the classroom angrily while saying.

"I'm going to face it, then I'll-"

However, her words are cut off when she feels someone looming over her. She nervously looks up and sees Ivan wearing a magenta cape with a mask that covers his head. The mask has three painted yellow eyes with red pupils. Two eyes are cut open to make eyeholes for Ivan, leaving only the third eye on the forehead visible. Also attached to the costume are fake dark blue dreadlocks.

Ivan roars at her, and it causes Mylène to let out a scream that everyone in school would have heard if it wasn't for the fact that it was the weekend and the class were the only ones there. Unfortunately, the entire class and Ondine are in the classroom and take the full brunt of Mylène's terror. 

"Cut!" Nino shouts over Mylène's scream as he covers his ears to drown out the sound.

It takes everyone a moment to recover from the scream. When they do, Mylène is hiding under the desk with a look of pure terror and violently shaking.

Ivan winches when he sees her current state.

"Sorry, Mylène." He says with a deeply regretful expression as he takes off the mask.

Nino, however, looks frustrated as he looks at Mylène while the girl nervously lifts herself from under the desk.

"That's our tenth take, Mylène. And this is only the first scene!" Nino shouts this last part for emphasis, causing Mylène to flinch.

"Fourteenth." Alix boredly corrects Nino while holding a clapperboard.

"Come on, you can't blame her for being freaked out when you're using a real monster. I mean, it was a smart choice. It adds a bit of authenticity to the film." Chloe takes this chance to mock Ivan while sitting on one of the back corner desks and filing her nails.

Hearing this causes Ivan and a few others to glare at her angrily.

"Big talk for someone who also got Akumatized!" Alix snaps at her while wearing the jacket Marinette made for her.

The jacket is dark magenta with a black chest. On the right side of the chest is a dark magenta A insignia for Alix. When Marinette first gave it to her, she excitedly hugged the girl while thanking her.

Chloe scoffs at her words and retorts with her usual confidence.

"Please. At least I looked human when Hawkmoth got me. He's the only one here who turned into a massive creature fit for a monster movie. I feel that says something about him." Chloe says in a matter-of-fact tone.

Hearing this causes Ivan to scowl before Nate calls over.

"Ignore her,  Ivan. She's just bitter Mylène got the lead role." Nate says with a smirk while holding the microphone, causing Chloe to scowl at him.

"Why you," Chloe growls at him before Sabrina has enough.

"Knock it off, Chloe. We're trying to get this done and don't need you causing problems." Sabrina snaps at her, causing Chloe to scowl before turning her head while muttering under her breath.

"Yeah, keep acting high and mighty while you can."

Seeing this, Sabrina sighs while Marinette walks over to Mylène and comforts the girl.

"It's okay, Mylène. You're trying your best." She soothes the girl while giving her a bottle of water.

"Sorry. I'll do better in the next take." Mylène nervously promises.

"You're playing a hero from the special forces. You're not supposed to get all freaked out!" Nino reprimands her, getting sick of not getting anywhere with this film.

"I'm sorry." Mylène apologizes again, showing quite a bit of fear while staring at Nino.

It's as if she thinks he'll attack her.

"It's alright, Mylène. It's only me." Ivan tells her with his best attempt at a comforting smile.

"Yeah. The scariest thing here is that poorly designed mask." Nate calls, getting a few chuckles from the room's other occupants.

"Hey. I tried my best in the short amount of time I had." Nino snaps at Nate angrily.

Nate shrugs with a smirk as he looks at Nino with unapologetic eyes.

"Maybe we should swap actresses." Adrien finally speaks up, getting all eyes to look at him and causing him to grow slightly nervous.

"I-I mean, it doesn't seem like Mylène is comfortable doing this, and we've done over ten takes. Maybe it would be best to see how the other girls do." Adrien anxiously explains under the eyes of everyone.

This gets a sarcastic clap from Chloe as she smirks down at everyone.

"Finally, one of you uses your brains. Rich Boy is right. It's clear Little Miss Scaredy Cat obviously can't handle being in the limelight. As such, it's best if she plays her role as a background character." Chloe mocks as she pushes herself off the desk and walks toward the front of the class.

"P-please, l-let me have one more take. J-just give me a moment to sing my happy song." Mylène begs, not wanting to give up her spot since she dreams of being on stage like her dad.

However, Chloe gets in front of her face with an angry expression that terrifies Mylène enough that the girl freezes.

"We've gone over fourteen takes and you can't even get past the first scene. You're done. Maybe work on your bravery next time if you want to be in the movies." Chloe growls with enough ferocity that Mylène runs off to escape from her.

"Chloe!" Marinette, Sabrina, Alya, and Nate snap at her for her actions, but Chloe scoffs at them.

"Please. It's obvious we wouldn't have gotten anywhere with that useless idiot playing the star. I would rather get this done before the film deadline." Chloe uncaringly tells everyone around her while rolling her eyes.

Her uncaring attitude doesn't make anyone else happy but Nino finally sighs in resignation.

"Fine. We'll try recasting." Nino tells her, causing Chloe to smirk while a few classmates look at him in shock.

Ivan is the worst, though. In his rage, he throws the costume to the ground and stomps out of the classroom to find Mylène.

"Ivan?" Adrien calls to the teen worriedly.

"I guess he's going to go after her," Nathaniel says awkwardly as he stares at the door.

"Who cares about Chicken and The Beast? Let's focus on getting this thing done." Chloe snaps at everyone.

After a moment of silence, everyone looks at each other before, one by one, they accept her words. Everyone is getting tired of getting nowhere with the movie. They feel bad for Mylène but few are willing to keep waiting for her to stop being scared. Marinette and Sabrina are the only ones who still don't like this idea.

"Well, if we're choosing a new actress. Any chance I can do this with Ondine?" Kim asks with a grin, not noticing the tension still in the air.

However, his words get a scowl from Chloe and she glares at him.

"Why would we let her take the leading role? She's not even part of our class and shouldn't be here." Chloe says while she turns her gaze to Ondine, causing the girl to grow nervous under her stare.

"It's just, I read a bit of the script. Wouldn't it be awkward to kiss someone when the person I'm dating is in the same room?" Kim asks while nervously scratching the back of his head.

His words surprise Alya since she's the one who wrote the script.

"What are you talking about? I didn't add any kissing." Alya tells him before grabbing the script next to her and skimming through it to see if she can find what Kim is talking about.

That isn't needed, though. The person who changed the script speaks up nervously, like a kid who got caught putting their hand in the cookie jar.

"I added that. I thought it would add to the scene if the last two were lovers." Nino tells Alya with a nervous smile.

His words get a heavy scowl from Alya before the girl screams at him.

"You did what!"

Outside, Ivan is looking for Mylène and sees the girl crying on a bench near the bottom of the stairwell. When he sees her, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a black skull pin, similar to the one he's currently wearing on his shirt, before walking down to her.

"Ummm... are you okay?" Ivan finally asks, unsure what to say to her at this moment.

Mylène jolts up when she hears Ivan's voice and looks at him with a face filled with fear. Seeing this causes Ivan to sigh, having grown used to those looks since he became Stoneheart, especially from Mylène. The girl seems to be the most afraid of those Hawkmoth prayed upon, which is unfortunate for her, seeing as she's in a class of them. It's gotten worse since Chloe and Aurore got re-Akumatized.

"L-look. I just came to check on you and make sure you're alright. I'm not going to hurt you, I promise." Ivan tries to reassure the girl, but her terrified expression inwardly breaks his heart.

His words don't seem to ease Mylène's worries, though. She scoots slightly away from Ivan and continues to stare at him nervously.

"I-if you come back, I promise I'll try to roar quietly." Ivan offers to the girl before holding out his palm and showing the pin to her.

"This is a pin from my favorite band, the Zombie Skull Crushers. Maybe you could keep it as a good luck charm." Ivan offers it to her with a kind smile to show he means no harm.

Mylène stares at it momentarily, unsure if she should take it. However, she decides she doesn't want to anger him and finally takes the pin with a shaky hand. She then puts it in her pocket and gives Ivan her best smile.

"Uh, t-thanks, Ivan. B-but they're right. I c-can't act to save my life and have wasted everyone's time. I should probably go. I-it was a stupid dream, a-anyway." Mylène says as she starts to tear up after remembering her failures and runs into the girls' bathroom to cry.

Seeing this breaks Ivan's heart and causes an unmistakable rage to build within him. This anger doesn't go unnoticed, though. Neither does the mix of sadness, fear and regret that Mylène is feeling.

Within his lair, Hawkmoth senses the two's rising emotions and smiles.

"Ah. Stoneheart. It's good to see you ready to cause more havoc in defense of the one you love. And it seems she also wishes to have the strength to protect herself. I'll grant you two the opportunity to fight together. Perhaps your love for her will let you win this time." Hawkmoth says as he refers to Ivan's feelings.

With that, he holds up his cane and palm, creating two butterflies and sending them after the two students.

While they fly toward the school, Ivan angrily stomps up the stairwell and prepares to confront the person who hurt Mylène's feelings. He slams the classroom door open with enough force to startle everyone and cause all arguments to cease. He then glares at Chloe venemously.

"You made Mylène cry!" Ivan snaps at her.

Despite inwardly growing nervous from his anger, Chloe doesn't back down and scoffs at him.

"Please. As if I care that your princess is crying. I make a lot of people cry." Chloe tells him in an uncaring manner that further angers Ivan.

"What?" He shouts at her and is about to stomp toward her before Kim and Nino act quickly to stop him before a fight breaks out.

"Woah, dude. Easy. We don't need a fight right now." Nino tells him as he tries to calm Ivan down.

"Yeah, man. Take it easy. We don't want you turning into a golem again." Kim tells him in a panic as he tries to keep Ivan from punching Chloe.

However, that was the wrong thing to say, as it seems to have angered Ivan even more than before. Seeing this causes Marinette and Sabrina to help stop Ivan while the others quickly back away from the scene.

"Pretty sure that was the wrong thing to say, Kim," Nate adds as he's backing up.

"I am sick of hearing that from you assholes! I didn't ask to be turned into a stupid monster! But people keep bringing it up like I did and keep being scared of me!" Ivan roars throughout the classroom as he glares at everyone around, causing some to flinch.

"We don't think of you as a monster, Ivan." Marinette desperately tells Ivan, trying to calm the teen down as he's surprisingly strong.

"Yeah. Half of us here have been Akumatized. You're not the only one." Adrien tells Ivan as he finally builds up the courage to help try and stop the teen without his powers.

Ivan doesn't say anything and continues to try and reach for Chloe. It doesn't seem like he can calm down. It's like all his frustration has been building up, only to be released now. He's like a raging bull, ready to plow through anyone.

While everyone worriedly watches the scene, the only one who notices Hawkmoth's butterfly heading toward Ivan is Chloe.

"Akuma!" She fearfully shouts before bolting up the stairs toward the other door.

As she does, the butterfly lands on Ivan's shirt pin, and Hawkmoth's outline appears. Seeing this causes everyone to jump and panic. Some are frozen in fear while others are following after Chloe. Even the five trying to stop Ivan let him go and back away in worry.

"Stoneheart. The one you love is crying while you're being mocked as a monster. So, I once again offer you power. However, this time I'll offer it not for revenge, but the chance to wield it as a knight protecting the princess." Hawkmoth's smooth voice says while offering Ivan the power to protect Mylène.

"I'll take it, Hawkmoth," Ivan says with a glare before smoke envelops him.

Seeing this causes the rest of the students to run for it, including the three known and one unknown Miraculous wielder.

"Everyone out!" Sabrina shouts as she points to the door behind Ivan.

A little later, Mylène hears a rumbling sound while staring in the bathroom mirror, causing her to jump slightly.

"What was that?" She asks in fear before reaching into her pocket for her phone.

When she does, she feels Ivan's pin and pulls it out. Her mind thinks back to when he saved her from Dark Cupid, and she gives it a sad expression. After remembering that, she decides to place it on her headband. She looks back into the mirror and gains a sad expression.

"I wish I could be that brave. I'm scared of even talking to anyone in class." Mylène sighs as she stares into the mirror, quickly noticing the butterfly heading toward her and letting out a scream.

"G-get away!" She shouts in alarm as she rapidly backs away toward a bathroom wall while swinging her phone at the butterfly in a desperate attempt to keep it at bay.

The butterfly isn't afraid, though. It continues to fly toward her and past the phone before landing on her new pin. After it does, Mylène gasps as she can hear Hawkmoth's voice in her head.

"Horrificator. You're someone mocked for living in fear. You dream of stardom but don't have the strength to attain it. I'll give you the strength to make others fear you and crush the competition. Your number one fan is out there helping." Hawkmoth states in a confident tone.

Mylène succumbs to his hypnotic effect and gains a nasty smile.

"Thanks for your support, Hawkmoth." She thanks him before smoke envelops her as well.

Outside, students run for their lives as Stoneheart breaks through the classroom wall and roars throughout the school. The Akuma quickly jumps off the second floor and lands before the school gates, preventing any of the students from leaving. Seeing this, those in the courtyard scatter in different directions to try and find somewhere to hide. As this is happening, the three Miraculous users and Nate are on the second floor and enter different classrooms

"Why does this always happen when we're trying to do something?" Nate groans as he and Marinette duck into a classroom.

"I don't know. But it's getting old." Marinette sighs as Tikki flies out of her earrings.

"I suppose it's time to provide some movie magic." She jokes as she stares at the two humans.

"Really?" Nate can't help but ask for the joke.

"Tikki, spots on," Marinette says as she transforms, the other two doing the same thing in their respective classrooms.

Back in the courtyard, Chloe and Alix dive into the girls' bathroom since it is closest to them. Upon entering, Alix glares at Chloe with a frustrated expression.

"You just had to mock the guy, didn't you?" She snaps at Chloe, causing the other girl to scowl.

"How was I supposed to know he'd go full monster on us?" Chloe snaps back.

"Oh, I don't know, maybe because it's already happened a few times. Don't think I don't know how you caused Max and Kim to get Akumatized! And I heard you did the same thing to Rose! When are you going to learn that you can't keep doing this crap!" Alix shouts at her in anger.

"You can't tell me what to do! It's not my fault they can't accept the words of or keep up with someone as exceptional as moi." Chloe says with a smirk as she delicately places a hand on her chest while wearing a confident smirk, causing Alix to resist the urge to smack her across the face.

The two girls are so busy arguing that they don't notice the broken bathroom mirror behind Chloe or the strange sticky purplish-pink substance sticking to it. After a while, Alix pauses her screaming and pushes past Chloe to look at what's covering the mirror, causing the other girl to growl.

"How dare yo-" Chloe is about to scream before freezing as she notices what Alix is heading to.

"What the heck is this stuff?" Alix questions as she's about to use a finger to touch the substance before Chloe stops her.

"Don't touch something when you don't know what it is. You don't know what it could do to you." She tells Alix while putting the girl's arm down.

Alix scowls at the touch but backs down. The two stare at the slime worriedly, not realizing something is creeping up behind them.

"Wait. Hawkmoth can create two Akumas, right? Do you think something else is here besides Stoneheart?" Alix asks worriedly, causing Chloe's eyes to widen as she panics.

Before either of the two can do anything, they suddenly find themselves being grabbed from behind by the same sticky substance, causing them to let out screams that no one can hear over the commotion with Stoneheart.

Speaking of which, the heroes are currently trying to figure out how to beat him.

"Remember! We can't hit him, or he'll just grow and become stronger!" Ladybug shouts to her teammates, not thinking about how they got here so fast due to the current emergency.

"Right." Cat Noir and Canine nod as the three heroes rest on the school roof while staring at Stoneheart.

The Akuma soon takes notice of them and roars at the three.

"Give me your Miraculous!" Stoneheart shouts before charging and jumping up to the three in a surprising feat of agility.

The heroes quickly dive out of the way with Cat Noir and Ladybug on the right and Canine on the left. 

Wanting to try and finish this fast and believing it will work against Stoneheart, Canine activates Command and shouts at the Akuma.

"Surrender!"

The orange-tinted soundwave heads toward Stoneheart and does seem to affect him. Stoneheart puts his hands to his head and loses his balance, causing him to faceplant into the courtyard's asphalt. Luckily, it doesn't seem like that caused him to grow, but it did almost cause him to hurt Kim and Ondine.

"We should get out of here before he sees me," Kim says in a panic as he grabs Ondine's arm and leads her away.

While running, the two see Nate waving toward them in the corner of the second floor. Deciding to follow him, they reclimb the stairs before entering the classroom with him.

When they enter, they see others like Juleka, Rose, Nathaniel, Max, Alya, and Nino already there.

"Why are we hiding in the school when the battle is outside?" Kim asks in a slightly freaked out as he looks out the window to see Stoneheart and the heroes going back at it.

"We figured it would be better to wait here until either the heroes win or lead Ivan out of the school," Nate tells the two with a shrug.

"Yeah. Do you want to try getting out of the school with a giant rock monster in the courtyard that may chase after you?" Alya asks him with a raised eyebrow.

Hearing this causes Kim to shake his head no rapidly while Ondine notices two people missing.

"Where's Chloe and Alix?" She asks worriedly while staring at the door.

Hearing this causes Nate to crack the door open and peek into the hallway while Nino shrugs.

"No idea, dudette."

"Maybe they got out," Rose hopefully suggests while she and Juleka hold each other.

"I hope so," Nathaniel mutters before they see the heroes leading Stoneheart out of the school.

"It looks like we'll be safe to leave soon!" Nate calls from the end of the hallway, having gone out to get a better look.

Hearing this causes the students to sigh in relief.

"We should probably wait here for a few minutes just to be safe," Alya tells the rest of the class, causing a few nods.

The group sits there for a minute before realizing Nate hasn't returned yet. This gets a few raised eyebrows, and Alya heads to the door.

"Hey, Nate! Are you coming back in?" Alya calls into the hall but doesn't get a response back.

She doesn't even see Nate in the hall.

"I think he already left." She tells everyone before she notices something.

"Wait, no. Something's in the hall." Alya tells the group before leaving the room to check it out.

Her words cause others to become curious. Max and Kim are the ones who go out with her to see what's happening. In the hallway, the same purplish-pink slime substance is around a shoe.

"What is this stuff?" Alya disgustedly asks as she looks at the slime while Kim picks up the shoe.

"Isn't this Nate's shoe?" Kim asks as he looks at it.

Max stands next to it and inspects it.

"It looks to be the same design as the ones he wears." He agrees.

Hearing this causes Alya to grow nervous as she looks at the slime. It's not normal to leave a shoe behind if it's safe. Plus, there's something strange about this slime. After a moment of thought, she turns back to the boys and says.

"I think we should get out of here. Something's wrong." She tells the two anxiously, getting worried expressions in return.

She pushes past the two and the three quickly run back to the classroom to tell the others.

"Hey, guys. We should leave. Something is wrong. We found Nate's shoe in the hall with some weird goo." Alya tells everyone in the room as she and Kim stand at the door.

Hearing this causes people to panic before Nino notices something weird.

"Wait. Wasn't Max with you dudes?" He nervously asks, causing Kim to give him a confused look.

"What are you talking about, man? He's right-" Kim says before pausing when he turns his head and sees Max missing.

Further down the hall, Max's glasses lay on the floor with some slime around them.

"Max!" Kim calls worriedly for his friend before rushing down the hall to look for him.

"Kim, wait!" Ondine worriedly shouts as she rushes to the door.

She and Alya are about to chase after the boy before he's suddenly grabbed by a rope of that slime substance and ripped from the second floor with a short scream.

"Kim!" Ondine shouts in alarm before rushing over to where Kim is grabbed and looking around the courtyard for him.

However, she doesn't see him anywhere. All she sees is a small trail of slime.

Hearing her scream, the other classmates start shuffling into the hall, and Alya turns to them worriedly.

"Guys, I think Hawkmoth made another Akuma. And it's after us." Alya reveals fearfully.

If you look closely, you can actually interpret Origins as existing over three days!

...Let me explain.

The first day reasonably ends between the two episodes. In part 1, students leave the school themselves and Mayor Bourgeois encourages everyone to stay at home until everything has been handled because it’s dangerous to be outside with Stoneheart, the first ever akumatized victim, on the loose. Marinette and Adrien become heroes in their homes after Master Fu somehow trespasses and bypasses two stay-at-home bakery owners and a crazy strict security-driven father with two guards despite being “still young” but not young enough to transform (incredible /gen), and while everyone ends up being “saved” by Ladybug and Cat Noir, the excitement of the multiplied akuma turning into more Stonehearts could be enough to keep school canceled for the rest of the day. Miss Bustier once dismissed her class because of an akuma in Lady Wifi, not too long after Origins, so it’s likely that class did remain dismissed for the whole day. Due to the lack of immediate threat with the Stonehearts being frozen and the episode cutting, this makes for a reasonable time frame of a day peacefully passing.

At the beginning of part 2, in order with zero time skips besides scene changes, we see:

Nadja broadcasting about the frozen Stonehearts scattered around Paris and the hope of two new guardian angels to save the day,

Marinette holding her bowl in her kitchen, which could be interpreted as just finishing her long lunch, but because she is eating from a similar bowl with yogurt on the side like she did in part 1 with Sabine and later Tom (this time with just Tom), and because of Chloe’s quote later, we can assume this is her second day breakfast,

Adrien flaking on Nathalie in their usual study spot in the dining room (shown in part 1) to stop feeling stuck at home and finally go to “normal” school,

Marinette and Alya walking together to the school from the direction of the bakery, with Alya already having her Ladyblog fully designed and programmed, even showing off her custom Ladybug phone charm,

Marinette plotting to give Alya the ladybug miraculous due to her terrible self shame and Alya’s confidence and love of superheroes, failing multiple times throughout the episode,

some of Miss Bustier’s class gathering around Ivan on a court bench gushing about what happened with Stoneheart (ending with Chloe bullying Ivan),

Adrien arriving at the school for the first time and convincing Nathalie to let him stay, then having Chloe and his fans swarm him as she excitedly introduces him to their classroom,

Chloe demonstrating to Adrien how she’ll get revenge with Marinette and Alya for their behavior the previous day by crafting the gum incident with Sabrina. Direct quote: “The brats that sat here yesterday need a little attitude adjustment. I’m just commanding a bit of respect, that's all”,

and later Adrien complaining to Plagg, “My first day at school and I didn’t even make it past roll call” — just because it’s Adrien’s official first day, that doesn’t mean it’s everyone’s first day. He stayed home with Nathalie for school throughout part 1, and besides possible unmentioned fencing, Adrien hadn’t actually stepped one foot inside the school before becoming Cat Noir. He only knew Ladybug at the time, and not Marinette!

Day 3 arguably begins after the final Ladybug logo scene transition, which is directly after Ladybug purifies all of the akumas for the first time. Alya and Marinette walk together to the literature class once again, and instead of Marinette choosing the seat assigned by Chloe, she goes to the seat she’s “always” been in and invites Alya to join her. This is a refreshing air of confidence and positivity for Marinette compared to the last two times the seats and Chloe were involved (Alya defending against Chloe and sharing the last macaron with Marinette, then the gum incident). Nino encourages Adrien to be himself to befriend Marinette, then a time skip happens where we see Adrien and Marinette together at the end of the rainy day, but because it’s directly related to what Nino said, there isn’t a Ladybug logo transition. In French schools, they have a long lunch break, so lots of kids just go home for that time then come back. Seriously, they get like 90min- 2hours! (Which blows my mind as an American, who only got 30 minutes for my lunch break)

So when Adrien runs away again to school, the stuff that went on with the seats, the hurt from Kim taunting Ivan, Marinette’s insecurity about being picked as Ladybug, is still fresh! They didn’t even have the night to process it!

I just still see a lot of people who discuss origins talk about pt. 2 as “the next day,” when really it’s just the afternoon, so I thought I’d make a post finally lol

All the rankings are in, and now it's time for the great conclusion: best Miraculous Ladybug episode to date!

I will be pulling the top 2 choices from these five polls I previously conducted, looking for the best Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Season 4, and the first part of Season 5 episodes.

Without further ado, here are the choices!

Akumaclass Harem AU

Marinette has a crush (whether she yet knows it or not) on all of her classmates, and when she kisses their Akuma forms (either as Ladybug or as Marinette), their Akumas’ connection to Hawk Moth severs and they regain their normal minds and are able to switch between civilian and Akuma modes.  This also prevents Hawk Moth from Reakumatizing them, as technically they still have an Akuma.

It first happened with Lady Wifi.  Her Akumatized best friend had her locked to the wall and her partner trapped, and she was making a big show of how she had full control of the situation and was going to unmask her to all of Paris.  Ladybug was very attracted to the presented power and was overcome with the urge to kiss her, to the surprise of both of them.  Alya’s normal mind and morality were restored, and Hawk Moth’s connection to her was broken, and she quickly dismissed the livestream sigil and the locks.  She apologizes for everything and drops her Lady Wifi appearance while Ladybug uses the Miraculous Cure.  Marinette wonders what could have happened, but Tikki has no answers that would explain it as being a power of the Ladybug Miraculous.

Evillustrator- Marinette explains the situation to Sabrina adequately, and Sabrina is touched that Mari would agree to the date to help Nath and keep Chloé safe.  On the date, Marinette is genuinely charmed by Evillustrator/Nathaniel and gives him a kiss on the cheek.  This has the same effect as on Lady Wifi and Nath comes to his senses while still appearing as Evillustrator.  Marinette admits that she worked with Chat Noir to trap and Deakumatize him, but Nath tells her that she did the right thing even if he doesn’t like being tricked.  Chat reports to Chloé to tell her that she is safe now.  Marinette wonders how she has this power, and muses the possibilities of if it is a hidden power of the Ladybug Miraculous or something akin to True Love’s Kiss.  In the meantime, she offers to go on a real date with Nath.  When Marinette relays the night’s events to Sabrina, the latter girl is dismayed as she wanted to ask Mari out on a date, but Mari agrees to that.  So she starts dating both Nathaniel and Sabrina, and both are willing to help her with her crush on Adrien.

Ladybug gets this to work with Horrificator but ironically fails to perform it on Dark Cupid.  When Nino tries to tell Marinette he likes her but panics and says he likes Alya and Marinette comes up with ideas to set them up, Alya is annoyed in part because she is in love with Ladybug after the Lady Wifi kiss.  But Alya and Nino still end up falling for each other and start dating.  Ladybug later uses her magic kiss on Princess Fragrance and Reflekta (but not Gamer, Vanisher, or Antibug).  After she comes to understand Chloé’s situation, her pushed-down feelings spark up more clearly rather than having Chat Cataclysm the Bee Comb.  She still takes the Miraculous back to Master Fu and discuss the whole “Akuma Cure Kiss” thing.  While she does not have the Miraculous, Chloé cannot become Queen Wasp again, as the Akuma is in the Miraculous, but she could be Akumatized without it.  Marinette takes part in the fight against Reverser in civilian form due to her Ladybug form being reversed and made clumsy so Marinette has the opposite state, and she kisses them to bring Marc to their senses.  So by the time we get to Heroes’ Day, Marinette is dating Nathaniel, Sabrina, and Marc, while Ladybug has Alya, Mylène, Rose, Juleka, and Chloé pining for Ladybug.

When Vanisher follows Ladybug in an attempt to find the Guardian, Ladybug detransforms and kisses her as Marinette to free her from Hawk Moth’s control.  Every Love-Redeemed Akuma aids Team Miraculous in fighting Scarlet Moth’s army, while Chloé starts out as Queen Bee in the fight before shifting to Queen Wasp to clear out large numbers of Scarlet Akumas when she thinks of it.  Ladybug gets kisses in on Timebreaker (really easy because Scarlet Moth had her stand by because he remembered that she is the one Akuma he doesn’t want to use) and Stoneheart (kept occupied by Horrificator).

"I had dozens of holders, Marinette, I learned to recognize potential," Duusu shook her head as she floated above her shoulder, her smile fond but a bit exasperated, "why won't you just trust me?" "Because - ALYA!" Marinette screamed as a Stoneheart flung a car right in her friend's direction. Alya had the wits to flatten on the sidewalk, but the car landed tires first right against the wall, trapping her. Marinette ducked behind a toppled delivery truck and leveled a Look at Duusu. "We will continue this talk later," she promised. "But right now I need Paonne - Alya needs Paonne. Duusu - spread my feathers!"

Stonehearted AU - Myvan AU

Basically in this AU Master Fu didn't have any holders picked out when Stoneheart attacked, forcing him to don the Ladybug Miraculous himself to fight the akuma. This was a slow akuma fight because of that, leaving Paris a lot more wary of akumas than in canon.

Ladybug!Fu ends up approaching Ivan the night after he was akumatized, and decides to give him the Black Cat Miraculous and tasks him to fight akumas. Ivan goes by Razor Claw when transformed and handles the battles on his own while Fu purifies and heals the city afterwards.

I don't draw humans too much, but this is what I imagine Razor Claw to look like. His claws can retract as needed, and he tends to be very quiet, always hiding in the shadows and retreating after fights. Paris appreciates what he does, but at very intimidated by him at the same time.

Fu is a lot more involved with the heroes in this AU, and Ivan knows there's a Guardian from the start and will learn his identity much sooner. Because Stoneheart was most disastrous in this AU + Paris' critical view on those akumatized, Ivan never ended up confessing to Mylene at the start of school, but still has feelings for her.

Mylene, on the other hand, has taken noticed of the very quiet hero protecting Paris, particularly how gentle he is despite how fierce he might appear in battle. It's the little things she notices, like how Razor Claw always guides the purified butterflies away from fearful and hateful citizens.

Mylene won't become a Ladybug holder until a bit later in the AU, but Fu is consistently keeping an eye out for a good replacement for him and a partner for Razor Claw. Mylene will go by Dotty when transformed. Dotty struggles at being a hero at first, but is determined not to sit back, wanting to make a difference.

And of course a lot of cute and fluffy Myvan moments throughout it all.

The list of ML S6 episodes title has appeared and it feels like it is the real deal.

I know others have written about it, but here is my analysis and speculations based on the episode title down below.

601 - Climatiqueen Sounds like Stormy Weather got an upgrade (her french name is Climatika). Nice little nod to the pilot of the previous arc too.

602 - Dessinatriste A nod to "le Dessinateur" (Evillustrator)? With this time the adjective "triste" (sad) included in this new name. Although, it could be a girl character as the name does sound like the feminine form (Dessinatrice).

603 - Sublimation Sublimation is the superpower name of the Rooster, so the episode might be about Marc, but it could also be the name of the olympic themed Akumatized we can see in the S6 sneak peak that was going around. The audio said she is looking for people to be the better version of themselves. Sublime is a word to qualify high morals and esthetic qualities. Could also be a kid-friendly introduction to what Sublimation is in psychanalysis if it has any value left. Sublimation is about transforming impulses into more productive behaviors.

604 - Daddycop Most probably a nod to Rogercop. An episode about Sabrina's relation with her father perhaps? On a side note, the title reminds me of the Daddy Cool song.

605 - Papys Garous Papi (or Papy, both writting are accepted) is a casual and affectionate term for someone to talk about their grandfather. So Papa-Garou (Weredad) but also involving at least Marinette's grandfather. Because Papy is plural here. Does Tom consider himself to be an old man?

606 - Princesse Syren Ondine as Syren is getting an upgrade as well.

607 - El Toro de Piedra Sounds like Ivan will be involved in that one. After all, he has the Ox Miraculous and his akumatization was called Stoneheart. Although the Spanish is new. Perhaps the akumatized will be a relative of Ivan?

608 - Vampigami I think everyone's first thought was seeing Kagami as a Vampire. Is Kagami a fan of either Dracula or the Twilight series? Considering it is canon that she read romance mangas (Glaciator 2), I wouldn't be surprised for the latter. Still, we did have an episode before that did end with "gami" but wasn't about Kagami (Optigami which was a portmanteau of Optic and Origami).

609 - Monsieur Agreste This feels like a follow up to the Gabriel Agreste episode from S4. Is someone pretending to be Gabriel? Or could it be the Adrien's grandparents episode that was hinted by Gloob? Or is Argos involved?

610 - Le Château Noir I know the speculations are about that episode being around Chat Noir, but I am not sure it is a pun with Chat due to the word Château (Castle) keeping its accent. But you know which Medieval Akumatized we had before? Le Chevalier Noir (Dark Blade).

611 - Revelator Not much to go with there. We can expect the Akumatized is a guy and that there is a risk of revealing things. Although, we did have an episode called Revelation which featured Infox (Hoaxer), but I am not sure they could be related. Again, the title doesn't give much to work with.

612 - Psyconductrice A portmanteau of the words Psycho and Conductrice which could either be a female driver or a female conductor. However, ML Paris has turned a page on cars under Mayor Bustier, so it is probably more related to music or leading people.

613 - Yaksi Gozen Obviously, we think of Ikari Gozen and Matagi Gozen (Pretension). So Tomoe will be once again akumatized. I have looked for the name Yaksi and it looks like it is a sanskrit word. The wiki page I've found said they are similar to fairies or nymphs in the hindu culture. Although, I find the use of sanskrit special for Tomoe. As far as a remember, the only other sanskrit name we got was Mayura. So, could it be that either Nathalie or the Peacock Miraculous is involved in that episode as well?

614 - Couchorak Goldorak reference spotted! The other word in that name is Couche. Which actually have several meanings. It could notably be either a diaper, a layer or a bed.

615 - La Redresseuse As a francophone, all I am thinking about is "Dresseur Pokémon" (Pokémon Trainer) ^^; Anyway, something to do with training an animal or correcting bad behaviors. If Sublimation isn't the olympic themed akumatized, then this is my best second guess.

616 - Noe At first glance, all I am thinking about is a negative Zoé. Even though Noé (with an accent) is a boy's name (the French version of Noah). So maybe a new Bourgeois family member? Another possibility, since this is the French episode list is that Noe is a dimunitive for Noël, which is the French name of Nino's little brother.

617 - La Fée de Beaux Rêves Nice little pun there. The actual sentence is "Fais de beaux rêves" (Have Sweet Dreams) but with the word Fée instead of the verb. This seems to align with Pigella's power as well.

618 - Les Crassetastrophes Portmanteau of the words Crasse (filthy, dirty, scum) and Catastrophe (disaster). This one feels like it will be very smelly and disgusting. I wouldn't be surprised if this one is about pollution and if so, Polymouse will be involved.

619 - Riginarazione So, we got the words Rigid(?), Regina (either it is the Character name or the word Queen) combined with the word ration in Italian.

620 - Renverse-coeurs Reminds me of Dislocoeur which Dark Cupid's French name. So, we could theorized that Kim would be involved here.

621 - Les Titans Chaînes This one is giving me trouble. even in French because the name isn't a natural combination. It would be more normal to write it up as "Chaînes Titans" instead. "Chaînes" could be literally chains (in the sense of shackles) but in French, the word could also refers to a series of something. Like a mountain range, a production line or food chain, but also a channel (like a TV channel or Youtube channel). I do see the pun with the word "Enchaîne" in the title which either means to align or to shackle. Wasn't there an episode confirmed about influencers? This might be that one. Especially as Titans are not only huge figures, they even had a war in the greek mythology against the Olympian Gods (Titanomachy).

622 - Lady Chaos Honestly, your guess is as good as mine here. Because the ML verse counts a few Lady Something, like Lady Wifi or Lady Dragon, so this title doesn't mean it is about Ladybug directly, but it could be related to her as it is in opposition with what Ladybug does and represents.

623 - Tristanansi Nora is akumatized again and she will be sad this time around.

624 - La Reine de Frayeurville Spooky episode in perspective. Frayeur means Fright. So literally, the Queen of Frightville.

625 - Protocole Secret Feels more like a code name to a project than an akumatized name. My money this is Tomoe's plan.

626 - Nemesis Nothing to add besides that it sounds promising. I wonder what our new Butterfly Holder has in store in that one.

↪you made alot of things that seemed pointless to his cold metal body worthwhile. he may not be able to feel the same feelings he used to but atleast with you he could fully convince himself that he could. so that domestic feeling becomes real to him.

Adrien Agreste and Borderline Personality Disorder

DISCLAIMER: I've been a bit low on spoons this week, so I haven't gathered as much evidence as I probably could have. Also, I am but a humble student in clinical psychology. This is mainly a thought compilation for @moonieratty!

To introduce the topic, without going into it too much, personality is described by features and behavioral patterns, or traits, consistent across situations and across time. Personality disorders are therefore enduring patterns of highly maladaptive traits evaluated in personal and sociocultural context (Dozois, 2019, p. 290).

Like other disorders, personality disorders have diagnostic criteria. The DSM is used primarily for diagnosis in the US and Canada while the ICD is used more widely in Europe and other places. I'm more familiar with the DSM, but I've included a brief section on the ICD to be comprehensive. It ended up a bit longer than anticipated, so let's go below the cut. Warning for discussions of abuse, self harm, and suicide, and a brief mention of substance use.

Overview of Borderline Personality Disorder

BPD is prevalent in a small percentage of the population, about 1-2% by varying estimates, and is characterized by instability across domains of emotions, identity, interpersonal relationships, and behavior. Its onset is usually in late adolescence or early adulthood and symptoms may diminish with age, after one's thirties or forties, especially with therapeutic intervention. Along with ASPD, it has been the focus of a lot of clinical research; it is unfortunately associated with high rates of non-suicidal self-injury and suicide (APA, 2022, pp. 754–755; Dozois, 2019, pp. 308–309).

Etiological factors for BPD include both biological and environmental disturbances. Of note to our discussion is the heightened risk for BPD in cases of child abuse or neglect, as well as growing up with another family member with a serious mental health condition (NHS, 2022). It's been well established that Gabriel is emotionally neglectful if not outright abusive toward Adrien in multiple ways, so this is a clear risk factor. In addition, although I won't argue definitively for Gabriel having a psychological condition, he did keep Emilie's body in the basement, so there is clearly some kind of disturbance going on.

From a cognitive-behavioral perspective, Linehan argues that BPD stems from families who consistently invalidate childhood emotional experiences and "oversimplify the ease with which life's problems can be solved," which may cause children to learn to seek attention and communicate with others through emotional outbursts (Dozois, 2019, p. 297). This rings true for Adrien and Gabriel as well.

It doesn't seem like this is the first time Gabriel has thought this, and labeling an emotional reaction as being overly dramatic is very much invalidation of it. As for emotional outbursts, Adrien has had quite a few, mostly as Chat Noir. More on this later.

To round out this first section, attachment theory proposes a connection between poor parent-child attachments and BPD relationship difficulties. Specifically, maladaptive behavior in relationships may stem from childhood development of an anxious-ambivalent attachment style, where intense fears of abandonment interfere with a strong desire for intimacy (Dozois, 2019, p. 310). You can clearly see this in Chat Noir's relationship with Ladybug, and I'm sure other people have discussed Adrien's attachment style more in depth, but suffice to say I think this is an apt description.

Argument from DSM-5-TR

In the DSM, personality disorders are primarily diagnosed on a categorical model. There are a few general criteria which I won't be going into, but I will highlight that personality disorders are stable and pervasive, and would be diagnosed only if they were leading to significant distress or dysfunction. Adrien's mental state is not great, so the latter shouldn't be a problem, but this show does not always pay attention to consistency, so I'm going to be speculating some. Everything in this section is cited to the relevant DSM entry unless otherwise stated.

The DSM characterizes BPD with instability in relationships, self image, and affects, as well as marked impulsivity. It has no exclusion criteria, so BPD can be and frequently is comorbid with other disorders like mood disorders, PTSD, and ADHD. Of the below criteria, five need to be met in order for a diagnosis to be made.

Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment

A lot of people have delved into Adrien's abandonment issues, which feature most prominently in his relationship with Ladybug. His fears of being replaced result in him seeking reassurance from Ladybug, and he can lash out if he does not receive the response he hopes for. Ladybug is his world, and he wants to be hers, so anything infringing on that feels to him like a threat of being abandoned, and he does not like it very much.

Impulsive behaviors like giving up his ring can be interpreted under this lens: he can avoid abandonment by doing the abandoning first. Then it will be him leaving, and not the other way around.

I also interpret Adrien's nightmare (Le Marchand de Sable) as being a fear of being alone as much as it is a fear of being trapped.

Unstable and intense interpersonal relationships alternating between extremes of idealization and devaluation

We'll be united, more powerful and free. We'll defeat Hawk Moth, then we can both run away to an island! Far away from everything. We will live off nothing but fruits, and we will have a little pet hamster and we will name it— (Le Patineur)

I just can't do this anymore. I give up… on everything. Even you . . . If I become Chat Noir again, Ladybug will just end up rejecting me, over and over. (Kuro Neko)

Even though Adrien mostly keeps his head on straight regarding what he's owed and not owed by other people, his relationship with Ladybug is full of highs and lows. He thinks Ladybug is the most amazing girl, but this can recoil quickly into feeling as though Ladybug doesn't care about him enough or isn't meeting his needs.

Furthermore, he developed this idealization of Ladybug as a potential lover or caregiver at one of their first meetings (Cœur de Pierre), and continually sought to spend time together and share the intimate details of their secret identities early on. These are all common to individuals with BPD, as is the switch from idealization to feeling as if the other person "does not care enough, does not give enough, or is not 'there' enough." Ladybug is the only person Adrien consistently projects this instability and intensity on, which might be something interesting to explore.

Identity disturbance: unstable self image or sense of self

With all the secret identities, it isn't surprising that Adrien fits this criterion, but canon even explicitly draws a link between Adrien's unstable sense of self and his childhood experiences. He doesn't know who he is, and he distracts from this by being Chat Noir, only to struggle even more when he feels useless and underlooked as his hero self. His behavior shifts dramatically between trying to prove himself with grand gestures and refusing to participate or lashing out. There is definitely something to discuss on this front.

Impulsivity in at least two potentially self-damaging areas

Giving you some extra time . . . I trust you to bring me back, m'lady. (Gamer 2.0)

This is walking a thin line between impulsivity and suicidal behavior, which would be excluded from this criterion, but I'll list self sacrifice here because I can see an argument for Chat Noir's impulsive behaviors being out of love or the desire to be useful. There may still be some self injurious intent or euphoria, but Chat Noir does have faith in Ladybug to bring him back eventually. Nevertheless, this is impulsive and unhealthy. Chat Noir jumps too quickly to this option to have thought it through.

I can't think of another area, because Adrien isn't old enough for reckless driving, spending, substance use, or sex. This is also a kids' show. Just presenting these options for fanfiction writers out there.

Recurrent suicidal or self mutilating behavior, gestures, or threats

I... I don't know what to do! (Chat Blanc)

This is all our fault . . . Cataclysm. (Culpabysse)

By itself, what happened in Chat Blanc would not be solid evidence, as that was an unprecedentedly traumatic situation. Combined with Culpabysse, though, there is a strong case to be made for at least passive suicidality for this to be able to come up as an option.

You could also interpret the self sacrifice in this category. Suicidal behavior in individuals with BPD is often preempted by fears of rejection or abandonment, so an interesting analysis could be made on this front.

Affective instability due to marked reactivity of mood

He's still only thinking of himself! I just want this terrible day to be over and done with! I hate Christmas! (Pire Noël)

Adrien's prolonged episodes of anger and despair reflect a high reactivity to emotional stressors, especially interpersonal ones. In general, he just doesn't feel very well unless something is actively bringing him joy. Most of his outbursts are brief, though, and I will discuss them as part of a later criterion.

I'm not Adrien, so I wouldn't know if this is the case, but I can say he has experienced at least one depressive episode (Kuro Neko) and emptiness would not be unfamiliar. You can look at him and decide.

Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger

How was your amazing evening with your "friends"? . . . What do you think? (Glaciator)

Anger in individuals with BPD can manifest as bitterness, sarcasm, or recurrent verbal outbursts, which Chat Noir absolutely exemplifies. These outbursts are often followed by feelings of shame or guilt and contribute to a feeling of being bad. Chat Noir apologizes after being harsh in Glaciator, and I wouldn't be surprised if he felt badly about the other times. Again, these outbursts are often precipitated by interpersonal fears and perceived threats of abandonment. Unlike other symptoms, this specific one tends to be unique to BPD.

Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociation

I cannot recall any evidence for this but headcanon away, my friends.

All in all, I think Adrien has a strong case for BPD presentation according to the DSM. Canon is not always consistent, but I think it presents an interesting and mostly coherent narrative for this lens. From this perspective, Adrien's behavior reflects a deep intolerance of being alone and a dependence on other people to define the self.

As a corollary, BPD behavioral patterns are frequently linked to self sabotage and self undermining right when a goal is about to be realized, which could manifest as dropping out of school right before graduating or ending a relationship when it seems to be going well. Food for thought. Individuals with BPD may also feel more secure with transitional objects like pets than with interpersonal relationships, which could reflect in Adrien's relationship with Plagg.

To add some subjective understanding to this clinical mumbo jumbo, I've added a source of genuine BPD experiences below (Mind, 2022).

Argument from ICD-11

With the release of the ICD-11, a dimensional model for diagnosis of personality disorders became the new standard. What this means is that individuals are no longer labeled as having 'histrionic' or 'dependent' or, indeed, 'borderline' personality disorders, but are rather assessed as having any form of personality disorder on a sliding scale of severity and with trait domain specifiers (Swales, 2022). To put it more simply, people are diagnosed only with a general personality disorder or personality difficulty which can be optionally specified as deviating on one of the personality traits in the Big Five model, which is well established in personality psychology.

This move has several benefits. Stigmatization related to particular personality disorders can be reduced, and differential diagnosis and comorbidity between personality disorders becomes irrelevant. However, people retain access to treatment and support. Evidence-based treatments like dialectical behavior therapy are particularly well established and crucial for BPD; for this pragmatic purpose, the ICD contains one additional specifier for borderline pattern personality disorder (Bach et al., 2022; Swales, 2022).

The DSM and ICD are designed to be compatible with each other in many ways, and in this case, the borderline specifier in the ICD is directly lifted from the criterion of the DSM (WHO, 2023, 6D11.5). Based on our previous discussion, Adrien would be equally qualified for a diagnosis in France. I would likely describe his personality disorder with moderate severity, where multiple areas of functioning are affected and self harming behaviors may be present, but not all areas or relationships may be equally impacted and traits are not as rigid and inflexible (WHO, 2023, 6D10.0–6D10.2).

Interestingly, the ICD includes three additional manifestations of borderline pattern which are optional and may vary across time (WHO, 2023, 6D11.5).

A view of the self as inadequate, bad, guilty, disgusting, and contemptible

An experience of the self as profoundly different and isolated from other people; a painful sense of alienation and pervasive loneliness

Proneness to rejection hypersensitivity; problems in establishing and maintaining appropriate levels of trust in relationships; frequent misinterpretation of social signals

I'm fascinated by the number of adjectives in here. I simplified very slightly, as I did with the DSM criteria, but I had to keep all these adjectives. Anyway, I won't elaborate for too many more paragraphs, so let's say sentimonster moment and leave it at that. I will spare you my mirrored Félix essay. For now.

Qualifications and Limitations

First of all, Adrien is a teenager. The distinguishing factor between a personality disorder and regular adolescent difficulties would be longevity and identity concerns beyond his developmental phase (APA, 2022, p. 758). Second of all, Adrien has a uniquely terrible home life and magical problems. Some of his behaviors could be normal considering his experiences and sociocultural context, and this matters when it comes to psychological evaluation. Take everything with a grain of salt!

More generally, the categorical model of the DSM has several issues, not to mention diagnostic issues related to culture, gender, and stigma. Some but not all of these issues are addressed by the dimensional model it includes in a later section, which shares theoretical foundations with the model of personality disorders in the ICD. Even so, issues remain. Diagnosis, access to treatment, and political statements are intrinsically linked in complex ways. I won't get into all of the nuances, but be safe, remember this is a fictional character, and keep an open mind.

Miraculous Descendent Chapter 65: A Tiger's Stripes

Previous Chapter

What remains of the class begins to panic as they realize they aren't alone at the school. This realization becomes worse when Rose brings up a good question.

"What are we going to do? The heroes are fighting Ivan." She tells everyone as she looks at everyone anxiously while hanging onto Juleka.

Hearing this question causes everyone to grow more anxious. Ondine looks like she's about to cry while Nathaniel is holding his knees closer to his face in a panic.

"Okay, okay, let's all calm down, dudes," Nino says to try and calm everyone's nerves even though he's just as nervous as them.

His words seem ineffective, so it's Alya's turn to calm everyone.

"Everyone calm down. Remember, Stoneheart was the first villain Ladybug and Cat Noir beat. They're stronger now and even have Canine with them now. I'm sure they'll take Ivan down quickly and come to save us and the others. So, we just have to wait." Alya says while giving everyone a confident grin.

Hearing her words works better on the other occupants compared to Nino's. Nathaniel loosens his grip on his knees, Ondine's sobs calm slightly, Juleka and Rose's holds on each other loosens, and Nino grins at her. A feeling of hope seems to rise within everyone.

Away from the school, the heroes try their hardest against Stoneheart, not knowing that a different Akuma is at the school. Like last time, it seems like Stoneheart is hiding his object in his clenched fist. Luckily, unlike last time, they know not to attack recklessly, or he'll get bigger and stronger.

"Canine. See if you can make him open his fist." Ladybug orders the dog-themed heroine, wanting to wrap this up fast.

Canine nods before activating Command.

"Open your hand!" She shouts at Stoneheart, sending orange-tinted soundwaves directly at the large Akuma's face.

However, Hawkmoth is quicker. Before the soundwaves can hit, he connects to Stoneheart.

"Cover your ears!" He orders in Stoneheart's mind, causing the Akuma to block his ears.

That did the trick. Canine's power doesn't affect Stoneheart because he can't hear her through his hands.

"Cat Noir, trap his feet!" Ladybug orders, taking advantage of the situation.

"On it!" He shouts before running at the golem while preparing a hand to use Black Hole.

Stoneheart sees him rushing and quickly takes a hand off his ear to try hitting Cat Noir away. Luckily, the hero manages to pole vault over his fist and land directly in front of Stoneheart while shouting.

"Black Hole!"

Cat Noir's power forms under Stoneheart, trapping his lower body and preventing him from moving. It was a stunning display of teamwork between the three for anyone watching. However, there's still one problem they have to deal with. They have no way of getting Stoneheart to open his hand.

Whenever Canine tries to force him to open it with her power, Stoneheart covers his ears with his hands. Ladybug debated about using Seamstress to help. But she's not sure what suit would work in this case.

"Maybe you could use Earth Seams and have the ground to pry open his hand. Or maybe control his body. He's made of rock, after all." Cat Noir suggests as the group debates about what to do.

"Is he?" Canine asks, still unsure how magic works.

"I think." Cat Noir says while motioning toward Stoneheart.

"You can probably use the outfit you used against Gamer to get in and grab the object." Canine suggests instead.

"Would that work?" Ladybug asks, uncertain since it's still new.

As the heroes debate, Stoneheart growls at them for his treatment. He can't believe how quickly they managed to handle him. In his anger, he slams a hand into the ground in frustration, causing a miniature earthquake that causes the heroes to jump. When Hawkmoth sees this show of strength, he gets an idea.

"Stoneheart, attack yourself and cause yourself to grow larger. You'll escape Cat Noir's power that way." He tells Stoneheart through their connection as he remembers how Animan escaped.

Stoneheart follows Hawkmoth's instructions and raises a fist. As he does, the heroes look at him in confusion. They watch in shock as Stoneheart drives the fist into his chest and causes him to grow exponentially. They're so shocked by Stoneheart's action that they don't move as he slams his other fist into the chest. This second attack causes Stoneheart to grow enough to cause the black hole to short-circuit. Now free again, Stoneheart growls at the three heroes before roaring as he charges.

The heroes quickly try to jump out of the way, but Stoneheart's enlarged body still manages to hit them and send them flying in different directions. It doesn't seem like things will be easy.

Back at the school, the remaining students nervously sit in the classroom. Most watch the doors as they pray for the heroes to return soon. Alya is the only one not watching because she's broadcasting a live stream on her phone.

"Hey, Ladybloggers. It's your girl, Alya. So, I'm in quite a bit of trouble with my class right now. We were working on a movie for a film contest when two Akumas appeared at our school. Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Canine are busy dealing with Stoneheart. But it seems like the other Akuma is after us. They've already managed to get a few of our classmates. Ladybug, if you or the others see this, please hurry." She pleads into the live stream before it's suddenly cut off.

She blinks in confusion and tries to figure out what happened. It seems like her phone suddenly lost connection.

"What happened?" She questions as she messes with it until she hears Rose let out a small squeak.

She looks toward the girl in confusion and sees Rose and Juleka looking out the window with fearful expressions. Alya follows their line of sight and sees the same pink slime found in the hallway covering the windows. Seeing this causes Alya's eyes to widen as she realizes what's happening.

"We're getting trapped inside!" She shouts in alarm, causing the others who haven't noticed yet to jump.

They look at the window, and their eyes widen in a panic.

Hearing her alarmed shout causes the other three to turn their heads toward the window and begin freaking out. Everyone then looks at Alya for guidance on what to do next since she's the designated leader. Nervous at all the stares but not wanting to disappoint any of them, Alya takes a deep breath and looks toward the door.

"M-maybe we should take a look outside. The Akuma might be busy making this. We could find the others and possibly find a way out." She nervously suggests to the group.

Her words cause four out of five pairs of eyes to widen in fear while Ondine looks anxious as she nods rapidly.

"We should do that. We should find K-the others." She quickly corrects herself, but it's clear to everyone she's worried about Kim mostly.

Hearing the two girls discuss this, the others debate if it's a good idea. As they do this, Alya looks around and sees a few things they can use as weapons. There's a broom, mop, some large books, and the boom mic Nathaniel managed to grab. She rushes to them and starts passing them to everyone. With weapons, the students feel slightly more confident about going out and decide to follow Alya, who's holding the broom.

In an unknown area, possibly a part of the school, Alix wakes up and finds herself trapped in a cramped, pitch-black prison. Upon feeling around, she discovers that whatever she's in is wet and sticky, causing an involuntary shudder.

"Please don't be digesting, please don't be digesting." She continues to chant before pulling out her phone.

She activates the flashlight and realizes she's in a cocoon of that weird substance from the bathroom. Seeing this causes her to sigh in relief before the realization hits her, and she begins kicking at it in a panic.

"Help! Let me out! Is anyone out there? Max, Kim, Nathaniel, Marinette, Sabrina, anyone? Please help!" She shouts in hopes that someone will hear her while continuing to try and break out.

She doesn't see the gem on her panjas bracelet glow as she tries to escape. It isn't until the tiger Kwami appears in front of her face that she stops.

"Let's cause some havoc!" The tiger Kwami roars at a surprising volume. It's so powerful that the cocoon seems to inflate slightly from its strength before shrinking again.

Alix has to cover her ears from the volume. After a moment, she looks at the tiger Kwami in confusion. Then she registers her current situation again and panics, kicking the tiger Kwami through the cocoon while shouting.

"What the hell!"

Her desperate kicking to try and free herself begins anew after the tiger Kwami's introduction. She even manages to kick the Kwami out a couple more times in her panic before the Kwami starts phasing through her attempts. But this causes Alix to grow more frantic.

"Okay, I now realize that was a bad idea. I'm sorry. Can you please calm down?" The Kwami begs, but Alix keeps kicking in panic.

After a while, the Kwami gets tired of her panic and roars for the second time.

"Will you calm down!"

The force of her shout causes Alix to cover her ears again. After a moment, she looks at Roaar worriedly.

"Are you done?" Roaar asks cautiously.

Unsure about what to say, Alix can only nod.

"Good. So, hi. I'm Roaar, Kwami of Elation, and I'm here to offer you the chance to wield near-unlimited power!" Roaar roars out this last part as tiny fireworks go off around her body, causing Alix to cover her ears again.

"Can you stop that!" She shouts, finally having enough damage to her eardrums.

"Sorry. It's a mix of excitement at finding a new holder and my normal volume." Roaar apologizes with an embarrassed grin.

"What are you?" Alix finally asks.

"I'm a Kwami. And you are the new wielder of my Miraculous." Roaar states while pointing one of her stubs at the panjas bracelet.

Alix blinks at this and puts the bracelet before her.

"Wait, this is like what the heroes use?" She asks in shock, causing Roaar to nod energetically.

"Yep. You are the proud owner of a Miraculous!" Roaar announces at not quite the same volume, but it still carries a lot of strength.

Alix stares at her bracelet with a strange expression that mixes shock, curiosity, and slight excitement.

"I have SO many questions right now." She says while emphasizing the so and looking at Roaar.

"I'll bet." Roaar nods back immediately.

"But right now, can you get me out of here?" Alix asks while looking around.

"I could... OR I can help you get yourself out of here." She suggests back with a wild grin.

"What do yo-can I transform too?" Alix suddenly asks excitedly, matching Roaar's grin with a hopeful one.

Roaar gets smug while nodding at Alix, causing Alix to grab the Kwami and shake her.

"How!?" She asks the Kwami before Roaar phases out of her grip.

"Okay, calm down. Let me explain the rules." Roaar requests, causing Alix to calm down slightly.

While this is happening, the heroes continue fighting against Stoneheart. After his escape tactic, the golem tried to pin them by hitting them into buildings or standing on them. Luckily, the heroes have been quick enough to dodge. He also has to keep guarding against Canine's power.

Having enough of this, Ladybug decides to go with what works and turns into her Winter Seams outfit. She then freezes the street below Stoneheart and causes him to crash onto the ground.

"Now!" Ladybug shouts toward Canine.

"Open your hand!" Canine shouts

However, Stoneheart still refuses to go down without a fight. He quickly covers his ears again and begins kicking toward the heroes to keep them back. Seeing this causes Ladybug to scowl in frustration.

Back with Alix, Roaar finishes explaining to Alix the basics about wielding a Miraculous.

"And that's all you need to know. So, are you interested in wielding me?" Roaar asks with a hopeful grin of her own.

"Heck yeah. Sign me up!" She shouts at Roaar, causing the Kwami to smile before she enters Alix's mind to download the necessary information about the powers Alix would wield while using her Miraculous.

In Alix's mind, Roaar takes a moment to get a good idea of her new wielder's personality through Alix's memories. She soon knows the perfect powers for Alix. Not even ten minutes later, Alix holds her head as a wealth of information floods her mind.

"Woah. That is trippy." She mutters while holding her head in pain.

"Yeah. It's a lot to take in. You need a moment before we go on a rampage?" Roaar asks worriedly.

"I'm good. Let's do this. Roaar, stripes on!" Alix shouts while raising her panjas bracelet as it glows.

Roaar flies into the bracelet, and Alix feels the magic attaching to her body as new clothes appear.

Her new outfit has a form-fitting pinkish-purple tank top, black highlights around the arm holes, and a black turtle neck collar. On the front and back of the shirt are black V-shaped stripes. With it are matching form-fitting pants with black vertical stripes up the inner legs and grey cat-like boots with golden soles. Around her waist is a golden belt. Attached to the belt is a crimson-wired bolas with three weights at the end that are colored crimson on one side and white with black stripes on the other. Attached to her arms are black armbands on the upper arms and black fingerless gloves. Over her shirt is a black and grey track jacket. Her mask isn't a piece of cloth, but face paint shaped like a domino mask cut up at the bottom.

Alix takes a moment to admire her new look before grinning and looking at the cocoon surrounding her.

"Time to get out of here." She says as she starts punching and kicking at the cocoon with her newly enhanced strength.

However, despite this new strength, nothing she does seems to work. Growling, actually growling like an animal, Alix wishes she could tear through this. Upon thinking that, her nails lengthened and sharpened into claws.

"This is useful." She says with a grin before thrusting her hands forward and clawing at the cocoon.

Unlike her previous attacks, this seems to have an effect and leave marks on the cocoon. However, it still wasn't enough to free her from captivity.

"Seriously? Not a good start to my new life. Let's try this. Clout!" Alix shouts as she raises her hand.

Suddenly, a massive amount of purplish-pink raw swirling magical energy gathers and surrounds Alix's fist. Alix then throws her fist forward, and the cocoon bursts open. The part she punches even flies through the roof of wherever she is.

"Woah," Alix says as she stares at the damage her punch did.

She then pulls herself out of the cocoon and notices she's in the school's boiler room and that there are a ton of other cocoons.

"Someone has been busy," Alix says, a little creeped out as she hears the screams for help inside them.

However, she soon hears more screams upstairs and quickly runs into the courtyard to see the remaining students doing their best to fight off Mylène.

Mylène's Akuma form looks like Ivan's costume came alive. She's a giant salamander-like alien creature with crimson and purple skin, a long purple tail, three yellow eyes with pink pupils, stubby legs, and blue tentacles coming off her head and back. On the head of Horrificator is the pin Ivan gave her.

Currently, she's holding Nathaniel with one arm while the panicking boy tries to make her let him go by hitting her with the boom mic. Seeing this causes Alix to growl again as she pulls off the bola and throws it at Horrificator. The bola wraps around a surprised Horrificator, causing her to release Nathaniel.

The students look surprised at this sudden attack and turn to see a scowling Alix.

"Who's that?" Nino asks in confusion before Alya cheers.

"Who cares? She's obviously on our side. Go Tiger Girl!" She shouts excitedly toward Alix while Nathaniel scrambles away from Horrificator.

Hearing her cheers causes the other students to shout their beliefs that Alix will save them. Horrificator growls at this and roars at the students, causing some to scream in fear. These screams have a surprising effect on Horrificator. Like Stoneheart, she seems to grow. However, the bola isn't breaking, meaning that all she's doing is making the hold tighter. Horrificator groans at this before trying to use her tail to untie herself.

"Oh no, you don't," Alix growls before charging at Horrificator and tackling her from behind.

She manages to force Horrificator to fall face-first into the ground. She growls at Alix while the new heroine sits atop her.

"Now, you sit here, and we'll wait for the others to take you down," Alix says while sitting on her.

Seeing Alix has taken down Horrificator, Alya quickly runs toward Alix while having her phone on record.

"Hi, Alya Césaire. Maybe you've heard of me. I run the Ladyblog, a blog about Paris' new heroes. Do you think I could get an interview?" Alya begs while looking at Alix hopefully.

Alix scratches the back of her head, luckily retracting her claws before so while staring at Alya.

"Uh, sure. But I'm not sure what to tell you." Alix states.

"Cool. First question, what's your name?" Alya asks her excitedly, the others also waiting to hear the name of their savior.

"Uhhhhhhh...." Alix says as she realizes she doesn't have a name and is trying to figure out what to call herself.

She looks at her costume again before an idea comes to mind from one of the sports she plays.

"Brawling Tiger. You can call me Brawling Tiger." Alix says with a grin, showing some fangs.

As the conversation continues, Alix doesn't notice Horrificator releasing some goop from her mouth toward the bola. Nor does she notice Horrificator's tail inching toward Alix's foot.

Outside the school, the other heroes return with Ivan in toe after finally getting him to hand over the pin. They see the school covered in a layer of Horrificator's slime.

"Mylène!" Ivan shouts in worry as he pushes past the heroes and punches at the slime.

"Calm down." Canine says as she worriedly runs toward Ivan and pulls him safely away from the school.

"But everyone is trapped inside!" Ivan shouts at them, his worry evident.

"We'll get them out." Canine does her best to soothe Ivan's worries.

"Should I use Cataclysm?" Cat Noir asks while raising his palm in preparation.

Ladybug nods, and Cat Noir walks up to the school before shouting.

"Cataclysm!"

He then thrusts his palm at the goop. The power spreads across the slime encasing the school, turning it to ashes.

"You should go," Ladybug warns Cat Noir, causing the other hero to nod.

He quickly runs off and jumps into a public bathroom.

"Claws in." Cat Noir says, retracting his transformation.

Afterward, he pulls out a piece of cheese and hands it to Plagg.

"Here you go," Adrien smiles as he hands the cheese over.

"Nice job today, kid. You and the others did better against that golem than before." Plagg compliments Adrien as he takes the cheese.

"You think so?" Adrien asks excitedly.

"Definitely." Plagg nods.

As Cat Noir had left, Brawling Tiger and the others noticed their cage vanishing. Unfortunately, it further distracted Brawling Tiger enough she didn't notice Horrificator's tail grab her leg until it was too late. Horrificator throws Brawling Tiger off her and sends the new heroine flying into Ladybug as she and Canine enter the school.

As the three heroines are surprised by this sudden action, Horrificator uses her slime to slip out of the bola and grabs Rose and Juleka. The girls scream at this, and it causes Horrifcator to grow again.

Ladybug looks over Brawling Tiger's body to see this as the new heroine lifts herself off Ladybug. Brawling Tiger soon notices who she's on and quickly jumps off in a panic.

"Sorry! Are you okay?" She asks Ladybug in worry as she helps her up.

"I'm fine. Who are you?" Ladybug asks suspiciously.

"The name's Brawling Tiger. I'm the new hero on the block!" Brawling Tiger says with a grin as she shows the panjas bracelet.

Hearing this shocks Ladybug and Canine. Before they can do anything, Ivan runs toward Horrificator, recognizing her as Mylène.

"Mylène! You need to calm down!" He shouts at Mylène, trying to get through to her.

Horrifcator hears someone shouting at her and turns to the source. When she sees Ivan looking at her with worry instead of fear, she tries to scare him by roaring. Ivan flinches slightly but stands his ground.

"I'm sorry if I scared you!" Ivan shouts at Horrificator, his bravery seemingly causing Horrificator to shrink.

The three heroines watch this in surprise before Ladybug looks toward Brawling Tiger.

"We can figure this out later. Right now, help us take care of the Akuma." Ladybug tells her.

"Got it." Brawling Tiger nods excitedly at the chance to work with the heroes again.

She then recklessly charges at Horrificator and tackles the monster again. Seeing this causes Ivan to panic.

"Stop!" Ivan shouts while moving to pull Brawling Tiger off Horrificator.

However, Canine and Ladybug quickly intercept him and pull Ivan away from the two fighting.

"You need to stay back. It's dangerous." Canine warns Ivan, but the teen doesn't look happy.

"Don't hurt her then," Ivan shouts at them.

Ladybug gives Ivan her best kind and comforting look to try and soothe him before asking.

"Do you think you know where her butterfly is? We'll be able to hurt her less if we can find it quickly."

As she asks this, Horrificator throws Brawling Tiger off her and growls at the three heroines. As she does, Ivan sees the pin on Horrificator's forehead.

"That's the gift I gave her!" Ivan exclaims in surprise while pointing at it for the heroines to see.

That's all it takes for Ladybug to realize where the butterfly is.

"You two, grab that pin!" Ladybug shouts at the other heroines before firing a beam of ice at Horrificator to try and freeze her.

Horrificator quickly drops Rose and Juleka while jumping to the side of the attack. As she does, Brawling Tiger gets up and charges at Horrificator again with Canine in toe. Instead of trying to dodge again, Horrificator charges forward and attacks the two.

While this happens, Hawkmoth stares in shock at the new heroine through his connection with Horrificator. Not only because it means he has another Miraculous to deal with but because he recognizes it.

"Impossible! The Tiger Miraculous can't be here! I made sure of it years ago!" He shouts in horrified shock.

As he watches Canine trips Horrificator by sliding under the Akumas feet. Ladybug takes advantage of this by freezing her to the ground while Brawling Tiger rips the pin off her head.

"Got it!" She shouts happily as she raises the pin while Horrificator desperately struggles.

"Break it!" Ladybug and Canine exclaim immediately.

Quickly following their words, Brawling Tiger crushes the pin in her hand, freeing the butterfly for Ladybug to catch.

"Miraculous Ladybug!" Ladybug screams as she throws the yo-yo in the air, fixing all the damage Stoneheart did and freeing the people trapped by Horrificator.

"Wahoo!" Brawling Tiger shouts as she realizes they won.

As the heroes come together, Ivan moves to Mylène and helps her.

"Are you okay?" Ivan asks as Mylène looks around in confusion.

"W-what happened?" Mylène asks.

"Uh....... Hawkmoth got to you." Ivan finally reveals after being unable to figure out what to say.

Hearing this causes Mylène to stare at him in horror before looking at herself in terror.

"Do-does that mean I've become a monster? What do I do!?" Mylène asks in terror before Ivan tries to ease her worries.

"H-hey, it's fine. You're fine now. The heroes saved you." Ivan tries to comfort her, but Mylène is still panicking.

Seeing this, Ladybug walks toward Mylène and gives her a comforting smile.

"Your friend is right. You're safe now. Hawkmoth won't have a hold on you again unless you let him." Ladybug tells Mylène.

"S-so, I'm not connected to Hawkmoth now?" Mylène asks in confusion and relief.

"Of course not," Ladybug promises.

Hearing this causes Mylène to sigh in relief before remembering her attitude toward Ivan and the other Hawkmoth victims.

"I-I'm sorry for how I treated you, Ivan." She says in a regretful tone, but Ivan only smiles at her.

"It's okay. I was used to it before getting turned into a giant monster." Ivan jokes lightly with an embarrassed look, causing Mylène to smile.

"I don't remember if I ever thanked you for saving me from Kim. So, thanks." She thanks him again.

"Of course. I'd do anything to help you." Ivan says in embarrassment, causing Mylène to blush as well.

"And, cut! That was amazing work, you two. Incredible acting!" Nino grins as he holds his phone, causing Ivan to glare at him slightly.

(What if Movie! Gabriel was the villain in the Show?)

Now to those that have seen the movie and the show.

All the powers and rules of the show apply. The only difference is Gabriel’s Personality is the same as the one in the movie.

-So for starters, I don’t think this version of Adrien would not need to sneak out to try and go to school. Since this Gabriel never became a hermit. He actually threw himself into his work instead of isolating himself. And as such Adrien would not have the hang up of being trapped in his home. Or if he does it’s more from empathy than actual restraint.

-But even so, Adrien is still a good boy and still ends up tested by Fu and gets approved.

-I think Adrien models but isn’t the only model. I can see Adrien being the one to ask as a way of spending time with his father since his mother passed, and Gabriel not refusing. At least in photos he could see the boy smile.

-Everything with Marinette in origins is identical.

-Gabriel finally caves into his loneliness and desperation and uses the butterfly. Where he learns the rules and how they work. Since this Gabriel had seen the peacock in action he was worried that using the butterfly would yield the same result, but Nooroo assured him that it’s only with broken miraculous.

-Now, Gabriel would still akumatize stoneheart and start the incident that would bring out the ladybug and cat miraculous.

-Gabriel is still lost in grief and even though he mainly used criminals in the film, he would probably use people anyway (see the movie!stoneheart)

-This Gabriel would probably still pull a lot of the stunts show Gabriel would pull. Theatrics included.

-So I do think show Origins would be relatively the same.

-Honestly most of season 1 would be the same. I can see Gabriel setting up his fashion designer contest in Mr.Pigeon.

- Movie!Gabriel would remember his sons birthday and have Nathalie get him a gift while he’s focused on work.

-Nino never meets Gabriel face to face as he is far too busy to meet him. Thus bubbler.

-Gabriel never shows up on the show to get Simon says akumatized, but likely sent a response insulting enough it akumatized him.

- Gabriel would send a text or call to have Adrien leave an area that he knew an akuma was in. Something he did in the movie.

-I would say close to season 2 we start seeing Gabriel look disheveled. I also see Movie! Gabriel not akumatizing a baby. Mainly because it would not help his situation.

-Gabriel wouldn’t Akumatize Kagami since she was after Adrien, which would be a no no.

-Gorizilla wouldn’t happen because This Gabriel would never put his son in harms way intentionally. Plus I would say this Gabriel wouldn’t have noticed the ring on his sons finger as he is avoiding his boy more out of his own emotional survivors guilt.

-Gabriel would akumatize Style queen, but he would be there in person initially. He would be the one that got turned into a glitter statue protecting his son.

-After this. Gabriel questioned if this was the right call? He put his son in danger? Was it right?!

-And I think unlike Show Gabriel, Heroes day would be his last Hurrah, but he would be much more brutal. And that result.

miracle au: when in canon does afo kill gabriel? in miraculous canon, I mean. like after stoneheart 2 or after a few more akumas?

The canon ML timeline is absolutely fucked. I think it's supposed to have been like 6 months but Mr. Pigeon has been a thing at least 72 times. It doesn't help that they aired Season 1 out of order. I'm not sure what they'd have faced in the one week Hawk Moth was alive
