Somehow there is video of what happened during the tsunami. The rest of the 118 firefam get to see exactly what Buck(and Christopher) went through during the disaster.  Maybe the news got a hold of the video and aired it, or someone delivered it to the fire station. Could even be seen after the lawsuit happens and helps make the team realize that Buck has been through so much in a short period of time.

I’ve been struggling with vertigo (yes, still) and 911 week also took a lot out of me (though I’m really happy I did it), so I’ve struggled to participate in Tumblr games. If I do them each separately, I’ll probably flood people’s dashes, which I don’t wanna do. I figured I’d try and do a round up post instead. I’m just… I’m just thinking about Bobby and paying it forward

This is a man who moved to LA with zero expectations of the team or Athena ever caring for him, and even when he realized that maybe they do, he didn’t think he deserved it. So he set out to earn it. He took the trust and love they showed him and started working to pay it forward.

And oh, he pays it forward. He cooks for them every shift. He trusts them with his past. He fights tooth and nail to keep them safe. He’s always ready to give them whatever advice and comfort they may need. He’s there to hold Hen and Chimney when their worlds are falling apart, he’s there to be the father and husband that Buck and Athena respectively never thought they would have, he’s there to teach Ravi how to survive this job, he’s there to be Eddie’s lifeline in a way no one else can be. He does everything he can to be everything they need and more, even when he himself is struggling not to fall apart.

And in turn, they pay it forward.

They'll ignore orders and help Athena get into a burning building with an active shooter on the loose to rescue him. They'll drop everything and sprint into a building that just partially collapsed to dig him out of the rubble. Athena will get trapped herself and the team will push through severe injuries that make it almost impossible to stand to make sure he makes it out alive with them. They worry about him, they care for him, they support him in every way they can, because he has spent the last few years literally relearning how to live for them, and they love him so, so fiercely in return

Sometimes I remember that Bobby was forced out of Minnesota because his team there wouldn’t trust him anymore and now he has a team who will move heaven and earth to make sure he stays with them and I just have to cry about it

Thinking about the difference between May Day and 6x18 like... in May Day, they dropped everything and sprinted into that building to rescue Bobby because they could. They knew where he was, everyone else was safe, they were free to make him and May their one and only priority. But now they don’t know where he is, they don’t even know if he’s alive, and even if they did, there are so many other people - themselves included - who need help that he would still come last. He’s their captain, he’s their friend, he’s their father or their brother, he’s someone they love so fiercely, and they can’t do a damn thing to rescue him this time
