Another hand gripped his other elbow, steadying him, but all Louis could see were green eyes and dimples. “Hi,” the man laughed, a bright, bubbling sound. “Are you okay?”

Or Louis is in his first year of law school, Harry is a junior on the swim team dreaming of the Olympics, and they both agree that they don't have time for anything more than friends with benefits... right?

And I suspect that could be further adjusted depending on where you are in the U.S., since we have a pretty wild variation in cost of living. Like, I just went to check government pay scales for that, since they account for "locality," and the equivalent of the $106k "base pay" in my area is nearly $140k, or about twice what I make now.

But again: totally acknowledge the overall points, but the $ thing is gonna be affected by time & location.

I'm taking this free online class from Yale on the Science of Well-Being,

and it's free, so I'm gonna share the extremely short notes about what I'm learning. Why does well-being and happiness matter? Because people have more energy and more capacity to effect change if they are doing well mentally.

And because I think American culture in general is structured in a way that ignores human needs and leads to increased suffering in all sorts of ways.
