Summer Stop Showcasing Your Love for Twilight Princess and Sleep Deprivedly Writing when Exam Season is Right Around the Corner Challenge (Impossible) /j

Look, we don't talk enough about the Zelda's (or as I affectionately call them, Valkyries) and certainly not about Dusk, whom I am still so bitter that they gave her such a good design but never did anything with it, hence this is my attempt to fix that by giving her the spotlight and some love and give homage to the original Puppet Zelda, Dusk walked so Flora could run it (or well, TP Ganon did so TOTK Ganon could), hence I smashed these two prompts together lol, might make it a two parter after the others are done, but for now as always it's left to interpretation.

As always anything can be read as romantic or platonic or in and out of an LU concept, though the names are used for convenience and to give a rough idea of which kind of scenario we're working with here. Though it's less one of the boys and reader and more one of the ladies and reader this time, if that's not your cup of tea then kindly scroll by, again, this is just something very self indulgent before I pass out and work on the rest lol.

You slowly but surely came to adore festivals in Hyrule.

No matter the era, it filled you with so much joy whenever your group would come to a new Hyrule during the Hylian holidays, from the Picori Festival in Four's Era, to the Harvest Festival in Legend's, the Pioneering Celebration's in Wind's or the Spring and Summer Equinoxes in Time's and Warrior's, it usually meant your heroes would get the chance to unwind and relax, to eat good food with little worry for a portal (as they strangely didn't appear directly during festival days), you could see the Chain's family and friend's and have such a good time eating or dancing or learning the tradition's from your boy's. Such a stroke of luck came the next time you landed on Twilight's Era, as well as an invitation letter from Dusk to come to Castle Town and celebrate.

(Also translated as 'The nobles are probably hounding her about having 'The One Who Purged the Twilight' make at least one appearance in the castle and she couldn't stall them anymore' by Twilight, with tone tinged by exasperation and aggravation both, albeit much less than the poison of the sharp bitterness of Legend towards the nobility, Wild's tense silence that could mean a memory, or even Warrior's passive aggressiviness when it came to formal events.)

It would be the first time you'd truly meet a Zelda since joining the Chain, and Dusk was likely the most curious case, being crowned queen soon after the Twilight invasion was over and done with and only show during times of war and the only one to have an almost fully cordial relationship with Twilight until the coronation (even Time was closer with Lullaby according to Malon, likely due to knowing her future self). Neither you nor Twilight could say you knew much about her compared to the other's and their respective princesses (or queen's in Warrior's case), so it was a surprise to be invited at all though none of you could say you minded, the plaza of Castle Town was brilliantly decorated in the late autumn sun,  with the decorations glowing orange, yellow and blue witth lanterns and banners all around Castle Town, with decorated shops many stalls rented out for food, games and people, from young children laughing as they played to couples stealing kisses to family and friend's reuniting, it was no surprise you and your boys also got lost in the excitment after having set off from Ordon's own festival, decked out in fall colors and the green many of them favored and paint made to mimic Ordona's markings , you and Twilight getting swept away in the dance at the center with one of the many traveling troupes of musicians, you couldn't help your bright grin to match his as you occasionaly had to dodge running children in between the spinning dancers, clapping along to the song, just a few dances before you had to head on to the castle and finally meet Zelda wouldn't hurt, right?

"Pardon me," Came the soft, musical tone of your new partner, spiriting you away from Twilight with a small smile as he excused himself to find WIld and hopefully some refreshments.

At least that was what you thought, before almost having your heart jump out of your throat by Queen Zelda Vespera Hyrule herself entering the ring of dancers, taking you as a partner.

"Your-"

She spun you around with a hum, you almost struggled to keep up in your shock thought thankfully she held you steady, dark, ash inked hair held steady in a braided crown, looseing around her shoulders and eyes vibrant with vaguely masked cerulean amusement as she shook her head, the lanterns casting burning gold upon her irises, "No need for that. I'd rather my presence not be announced. I thought I'd meet you and Link halfway, away from the court." Another twirl, and she sighs, understandingly, as regal as ever, her gloved palm upon yours warm as you are sure your face is, "He's expressed dislike for the castle in the past and I cannot blame him for such, it's only fair I find him first then, after all he's done for us."

You are briefly separated, as you digest the information and reeling from the surprise, it makes sense. None of the Link's were overly fond of Hyrule Castle and Twilight was no exception, with the nobles who minimally contributed to anything yet demanded reward or for their schemes to be enabled and the complacent knights, easily swayed by the honeyed words of vipers and who were useless in the face of true danger even during the invasion, none of your boys - even Warriors who learned how to swim or drown in that mess - felt comfortable there. You can't imagine it wasn't similar for Dusk, even growing up among them.

... She did seem very lonely, even back then.

You dance back into her arms, nodding easily as you take her in, with her hair braided in white ribbons and cream, ruffled poet's shirt and lightly heeled riding boots, she really did look just like any other young woman out for a night of festival fun, albeit breathtakingly beautiful just the same, "Alright then, would Zelda be fine then?"

Her smile was radiant, as bright as the lanterns in the plaza in contrast to her shaded lips, voice soft like the whisper of a breeze through autumn leaves, "It's perfect, I'm so glad to finally be able to meet you personally." She twirls you, and you laugh as it transitions into an unexpected dip, the disguised queen giggling in turn and it's soft and fluttering, "Link's letters don't do you full justice, the flesh is much more captivating than the imagination."

"Says the Queen of Hyrule," You snipe back, hoping to all being's holy in this land and the realms beyond that you are not flushing crimson enough to outshine the lanterns, you briefly catch a glimpse of Twilight, standing somewhere just beyond the dancers and sipping on an apple cider, you lock eyes and you briefly tilt your chin to Zelda, 'So. This is the Queen of Hyrule. HELP?!'

He briefly looks you over, seemingly studying the situation, then gives you a wolfish smirk at whatever he saw, 'Have fun.' He mouths, taking a long swig.

'Traitor.' You hiss in your thoughts because turns out you are NOT well equipped to handle Hylian Royalty suddenly sweeping you off your feet (literally) without ample preparation and your only hope of composing yourself clearly wasn't going to help, so you smile and continue on, "I'm hardly that much, but thank you, y- Zelda."

"Nonsense," She primly answers, before you switch partners once more, to the left, then back to Dusk, and back again, she tilts her head, humming contemplatively, "Would you mind showing me around the festival? I'm sure Link won't mind if I steal you for a couple moments."

You chuckle, "I hardly know Castle Town all that well myself, I doubt I'd be a good guide." And that's true, you've only seen it distantly, during Twilight's adventure, it could hardly compare to the real thing.

She smiles, somethibg soft and beautiful and sharp with amusement, eyes glinting like clouded aquamarine, rhodedendron eargerness and hydrangea beautiful, "Then I suppose we'll just explore it together then, shall we go?"

"We shall." You answer back, after all, it's not everyday you can say you went to a festival with a Zelda.

She links her arm with yours, grip tight and warm.

She had not even seen you on the way, though she had been looking forward to your meeting.)

29. What's the hardest thing about writing?

for me at least it's the first 40%, like coming up with the idea and writing out its beginnings. i find its way easier to write when there's already stuff on the doc, which i think is partly why i have so much fun and it comes so much more easily when I work on my collab with @leafostuff (watch out for that btw!!! we're both very excited :DDD)

34. Do you write to improve? Or is that not a concern for you?

i wouldn't say it isnt a concern but it definitely isnt a priority!! getting better i feel is just something that happens naturally as we go along, like Pokemon getting happier the more I walk around with them in my party. I wouldn't say that I'd someday be as good as @capslocked or @iznsfw or @majorblinks but rather i'd love to think of it as making my little autumn box nicer and nicer with pictures of idols and different kinds of tags and more unique memories to put inside <3

I'm not knowledgable about things like exact timelines and where they exist (I thought I remembered us chatting about a specific age that a durge would've had to be inducted by? I remember we brought years into it and everything? I also read a reddit post that said canonically durge would've been brought back to the temple around the age of like?? 10??) If 10 is the canonical age then I think that would be realllllyyyyy interesting to work with, although I primarily imagined him being like. Young, but not remarkably young for genre-compliant major life events to happen. Around 14 or 15.

Ok so imagine. You're a teenager who has undergone a not-unconsiderable amount of attempted indoctrination a la Sceleritas Fel. You just murdered the circus troupe that raised you and taught you everything you knew. What would've been the key rhetoric to detach you from the emotional attachments you had to your adopted family? Probably Sceleritas told you that these aren't your real family anyway, these are just some clowns doing tricks for a quick buck, why would you of all people want to associate with them, I know your real family, they're all waiting for you to come back home... etc. I think at one point he tried to find a sort of familial comfort in Orin. I think at one point he would've tried to be a big brother to Orin. Like part of what brought him to the Temple was that he had become attached to this idea of having blood relatives. He was driven to kill so that he could meet his blood relatives. So like. TLDR, it's complicated. I think in the early days, when he had fleeting thoughts of "haha wow, I got myself into some shit" he had plans about how he could get the two of them out of there and how he could provide a safe home for Orin. I think at one point he realised that, even if he could, she wouldn't have followed him. Directly pre-amnesia he tells himself he very much has a like. Family by technicality. Sort of relationship with her. I think a very very small, hidden part of him still wished for a universe where he could be a good older brother to her.

Lol I think Gortash definitely would've thought of it first. Emre definitely brushed it off as a "haha can you imagine" kind of plan, but would've acted as a (very sarcastic) soundboard to amuse him. And then I think he would've slowly realised that Gortash was serious about it, and also how it would align with his own goals. And after that would've gotten a lot more serious about working with Gortash to make sure the plan was airtight.

YEAH see Answer 2. He is very much driven by his need to find a sense of belonging. It just so happens that Bhaal provided him with the strongest sense of belonging. At the height of his cult leader shenanigans he was running off a very grandiose sense of "this is literally what I was born to do". That doesn't mean that his memories of killing his troupe ever stopped haunting him. That doesn't mean he never had homoerotic complicated attachments to people outside the Temple (coughGortashcough). Like. Enacting Bhaal's will was what he was literally born to do but sometimes he sat on the edge of his bed and actively wished it wasn't. Insert that one TSOA quote about being a weapon here.

LAE'ZEL 100%. Canon event for them to have that "Usually when subordinates question me, I kill them"/"Subordinate? Stfu" interaction in the grove. The whole creche incident in late Act 1 is a very big turning point in their relationship.

Book of Circus is good, I really like how it shows how unapologetically dark Kuroshitsuji can get. I feel like it sets the standard for how the rest of the manga will go (even though it gradually becomes darker overtime…). It also has a lot of our favourite moments: the whole Sebastian/William thing, Sebastian being an absolute idiot and enjoying the circus life like the clown that he is, Ciel being forced to smile, Ciel having an asthma attack, Ciel freaking out and ordering Sebastian to kill everyone—

But you asked about the boys, and to be honest, while we generally liked the circus troupe and their story, there isn’t anyone we’re like super into and think about a lot, other than Snake of course. Doll is also great! Out of the rest of the crew, Dagger was probably my most favourite one.

But my favourite character from this book is the mob-looking old man who had a crush on Ciel and his dad and got a little bit too into them and spiraled out of control. Completely devastated and ruined by pretty faces of pretty boys…… Sorry, this whole story was so messed up and hilarious at the same time, I yell every time we rewatch/reread it and get to this flashback.

Fun fact: I really hated this season when we first watched it like 10 years ago. But I hated a lot of things about Kuroshitsuji back then, and a lot of it was that I just really wanted to hate it because I was annoyed by Sebastian lol

Hello everybody and welcome back to another hunter X hunter/hxh scenario in today’s scenario we will be doing what the hunter X hunter characters reaction would be to seeing their kid open up Their first ever phone

Also just a heads up I am going to be making a Christmas special! For everybody who liked my little Halloween scenario that was not even a special get ready for the Christmas special because it’s coming at you in 3 days!!!

Feitan-he would get his kid their first phone when they are around the age of 9&10 just for safety since they are a little bit older he can’t always look after them now but one phone call and he’s on his way faster than you can even blink…(I may have exaggerated a little bit but hey it makes the scenario better!)

Chrollo-would get his kid there first phone around 8&9 his kid would have to learn how to be independent from a very young age because he would not be around very often at least until they are a teenager when they can do some dangerous work but until then they just have to wait since they are getting older the phantom troupe can’t take care of them anymore so a phone call is very useful

Nobunaga-anywhere from 5&7 I know it’s a very young age but he learned how to use a phone at a very young age and it was very useful for him not only that it wouldn’t be the best quality of a phone because the kid is young but it’s enough to play a few games has OK camera quality and it can make perfect phone calls anywhere at any time as long as there’s signal!

phinks-definitely around 10&12 he doesn’t see the need for a kid to have a phone but once he sees that everybody’s kid in the phantom troupe has a phone and it keeps their kid safe he gives in and buys his kid a very nice phone that is perfect for the kid and matches them!

Hisoka-if you feel the need to get a phone and just ask him he will either steal it for you or just give you a shit ton of money out of nowhere and tell you to go find a phone that you like and buy it because he’s just laid-back like that and he doesn’t care he’s like the laid-back cool parent but can be annoying at times so there’s really no age for this it’s really just whenever you ask and all you need to do is ask once and all the money is given to you

illumi-his kid will definitely go outside a lot but he wants his kid to learn about electronics and coding and things like that so his kid would definitely be familiar with electronics and it’s not something new for them but they would probably get a Phone around the age of 7&10

Silva-there’s no exact age if you are doing good he will get you a phone if it’s necessary if you are not doing that well he will just get you a basic phone because at the end of the day you need to call him it’s just necessary but he won’t give you a phone that allows you to play games only for calls that is if you are a bad kid if you’re not then you get a good phone that has a bunch of good capabilities!!!

Anyways more about the Christmas special I will create one post or maybe two on Christmas Eve and then on Christmas I think I’m going to try my best to create a few posts because it would be very entertaining!

me: i’ll probably make a summary of my thoughts every 10 or so chapters, whatever feels natural.

me 5 chapters into awakening moon: i need to write down my thoughts NOW or i’ll die.

uh. so. hello icha!! I’m on break rn which is why i’m able to do this haha. this is just about the first five chapters of awakening moon… um so actually i was stuck at a relatives place for a lot of new years and ended up? just reading the translation for all of act 1 that was on the wiki as well as alex in wonderland bc those were the two i didn’t rly take notes on? I think also the azuma and sakyo hot spring event i didn’t do notes for… but everything else i had some notes so i thought it’d be good if i could review act 1 a little in preparation. and gee golly am i GLAD I DID. bc 5 chapters in and im being proven sooooo right abt all my thoughts.

this’ll come in handy when talking abt other characters, but most relevantly I was rly able to pick out some hisoka moments i hadn’t noticed earlier… firstly when winter first finds hisoka, he actually doesn’t want them to call the police—I mean i’d get why but also i think he probably instinctively is wary of the police? which i have to think adds to his assassin points, which is my imaginary tip jar for pieces of evidence that point towards hisoka being an assassin. These pretty much also just go hand in hand with hisoka having any time of… nefarious sort of career pre-amnesia, so being a spy or involved in some type of espionage or something feels… appropriate. some assassins do spy stuff as well! but assassin is the guess thats most fun for me to say. lol. pretend it’s a catch-all. um next hisoka, when asked to play a character, asks for really specific details like age and background, and then izumi describes him as acting very… realistically? and later when they’re doing their play she notes that hisoka has gotten a bit more expressive in his acting! I think that sense of realism really works well with his role in sympathy for the angel—hes the most bluntly realistic about everything, it feels, so i’d imagine his more understated nature of acting fits well there… i’d also say that for someone who probably has no acting experience, doing espionage or something like that would train you in some specific kinds of acting! which is maybe why hisoka needs those extra details—it’s more like a cover story, then, and why his acting has that sense of realism—it’s acting that needs to exist in the real world, not the kind of acting that is Performance.

also tasuku asks if hisoka did martial arts, because his footsteps don’t make any sound… assassin points. I think there’s this part where izumi almost gets hit by something on stage or something like that and hisoka saves her? and tasuku says like are you a ninja? and homare mentions that hisoka moved so fast that he couldn’t see him… assassin points. I’ve mentioned the lie low and recover stamina thing already… as well as how when izumi approaches him from behind he pins her to the wall immediately. umm but i forgot that he specifically disappeared because he had a cold! so he didn’t want to… show any weakness, i guess, and just ran away. that felt very assassin to me. I’m basing this off of killua of course, since he also has a sort of “run away when you’re weakened” philosophy. and also!! when they’re talking about their type in romantic partners, hisoka wants someone who’s independent and not clingy. I imagine that has to do with like… as an assassin or as a spy i bet he traveled a lot… so he couldn’t really get attached to people, unlike how he is with the winter troupe. like at first he didn’t even want to get a futon bc he needed to be able to sleep anywhere. probably had to be used to roughing it for whatever assassin work he was doing. and finally… hisoka had memories related to the ocean, where he was like. he said he probably washed ashore from there? and chikage’s always been doing a lot of overseas business trips… i was making connections.

anyways. I bet that hisoka and chikage were both assassins or doing the same kind of work, and that chikage was april and hisoka was december (and chikage is maybe wearing hisokas jacket?? since it says dece right there) AND when he introduced himself!!! He said his bday was april 15th!!! so you can imagine the VINDICATION i felt when chikage confronted hisoka and went "What's the meaning of this, December?” LIKE I CALLED IT. I NOTICED THE DETAILS!!! Unrelated but google tells me hisokas bday is december 3rd? google could be wrong but i didn’t want to check further for fear of spoilers but ah. if that’s true I share a birthday with hisoka!!

wanted to get that out of the way non-chronologically… putting a pin in that, I’ll talk some more abt it later. anyways the actual chapters in the order they came. those thoughts.

getting fully voiced lines again!!! oh my god!!! I checked and i got through sardine search in june of 2021 so dear god, has it been a while. I feel like i notice so much!! the tone of the voices and everything… its so good i missed it. love being able to pick up random words here and there with my “acquired through knowing the translated title as well as the original of japanese songs” knowledge. and MIZUNO GOT TO SEE ROMEO AND JULIUS… and tsuzuru looks so happy to hear that!!! crazy. crazyyyy. Imagine never having read clockwork heart and reading that and being like “who’s that” instead of LOSING MY MIND.

it makes sense that they’d try to recruit a single person instead of doing an open audition, since that would be a little tough if at the end u were like. ok we’re taking One Person. sakyo was also like its nice since u can trust the person which is so funny to me. I mean good caution since the whole godza spy thing happened but also its like. I know you’re going to recruit chikage and im squinting at the screen like… is he someone you can trust? since i think he’s an assassin. also his face just makes me think of like… a sly tanuki, lol. but this also provides good context as to how all these act 2 members kind of already relate to the act 1 charas! its story convenience since u don’t have to establish a dynamic from wholecloth with a whole “first meeting” bit, but it’s also convenient in-story itself since having some familiarity with the person would probably make them easier to trust! a neat thing that works from a watsonian and doylist perspective lol. also whoever joined spring HAD to know itaru, since itaru would have to like. give up his solitary gamer pad (which imo is the more accurate term as compared to man cave)

masumi not answering his phone and saying he doesn’t know the number… considering it was? a secretary? That izumi called at first, I bet it’s his parents. I’m also like on my knees BEGGING for some more masumi developments this episode. (it’s… episode for each troupe season, right? and then chapter for each individual bit. that’s what i’m doing, at least). but oh my god i’m with tsuzuru here. masumi you should be answering sakuya’s calls. the masumi & sakuya dynamic is actually really interesting to me, though! like first off until we did this year forward (which, considering the anniversary event was just before this, seems like they’re retconning that the first 4 plays took one year and instead are going with that these first 12 plays took place in a year…? I think? I’m confused abt the timeline but I refuse to search it up lol) and this is how I realized sakuya’s actually a year older than masumi… it’s cool to see he went right into theatre! he does love it after all. but he still wakes up masumi who’s cranky in the morning haha. usually with these two and the play they did, I would’ve thought it’d be a dynamic of like… cheery guy and cool guy aren’t close at first but slowly the cool aloof guy gets attached but ah… it still feels like masumi didn’t really get that. attached. it’s a very interesting situation to me, because they definitely spend time together and care for each other but they don’t necessarily feel… close? it’ll be interesting to see if that develops. nocturnality’s description of the troupes is, once again, on point—spring troupe is really like a family more than just a group of friends. speaking of that though I’ve been talking to my friend about a3 and he asked me, like, autumn was described as comrades for the same cause, right? what is that cause? and I had to be like… um, acting? because I didn’t know how to say it any better haha. since it’s acting for everyone, too… I think there is a certain flair autumn has in the way it feels like they’re challenging each other a little bit—exemplified with juza and banri, but it’s present with others, too. still I wasn’t sure how to word it?

it’s nice that juza is w/ omi and tsuzuru and banri is with kazunari at uni!!! good they’re not in the same university because… that would be a lot. the moment citron mentioned chika-usa I was like. ah. chikage. like I literally even Just saw him in a bunny outfit… if I didn’t get it from the chika bit I’d get it from the usa bit now. it’ll be exciting to see that reveal since I think he and izumi can talk curry a lot! also he can help with blogging which is nice

then began chikage’s introduction of which I was mentally yelling in my head “HES TRICKING YOU. NO PERSON CAN BE THAT POLITE AND PATIENT AND PERFECTLY GENIAL AND MILD.” I’m just saying like he’s tooo normal to not be faking it. he’s literally itaru’s coworker and we know how that guy appeared versus his real self. so when he says like “I’m a huge fan” about the blog and I go “no. you’re just stalking hisoka.” but like his self-introduction is so normie and at least my personal evaluation of his audition was that he was realistic but not dramatic? A thing which matches quite well with how I think hisoka performs… though again izumi doesn’t really detail that far in about his style, this is just me evaluating him. but yeah wow I wonder why you’d be good at acting, chikage… ever done any espionage? his coin cg looked nice! but I’m just saying… quick with his hands doing magic tricks… hisoka can be so quick you can’t see him, too… also if ur fun party skill inherently involves deception and misdirection as magic tricks do… then I don’t have to trust this pleasant person mask you have. also the way chikage tells sakuya “you seem like you would be the first to go down in a battle” wow I bet you’ve been in some life or death battle situations. being an assassin and all. although, I love the way citron agrees.

and when hisoka appeared izumi saw chikages smile slip!! I thought it was fun to see homare nagging gently at hisoka to introduce himself tho lol… I wish they’d done the coin game. I think hisoka may have guessed correctly. but the way hisokas like well I don’t have anything to say abt myself except my name and homare is then immediately like *gasp* let me list all my hisoka facts!!

and THEN when chikage approached hisoka in the night. THE VOICE CHANGE. HE DROPPED LIKE AN OCTAVE I FUCKING KNEW HIS POLITE VOICE WAS HIDING SOMETHING. I realize amnesia’s hard to believe but god if ur an assassin or whatever in some mystery organization u should be able to believe in amnesia.

this line though: "...All this time I thought you had died together with August." but hisoka doesn't even remember what he said when he was sick! I do remember him apologizing, though… he’s got survivor’s guilt for sure i bet. I was very alarmed by how hisokas yknow. normally gentle and soft voice got very distressed at this part tho! especially when he said his head hurts… I wanted to hug him.

"...Then remember this. My name is April, and I'm here to avenge everything you took away from me." hmph. called it. but also. inigo montoya much? and those flowers WERE threats.

ch 4 starting out with the title reading "yume nikki" gave me immediate flashbacks like. I know it just means dream diary but I will always just think of the game only. hisoka’s flashback though… it was so well written. the emphasis on coldness really got me—it makes sense that at the beginning, he’d even sleep outside in the cold! but wow. he grew up like. starving and without a home. "my hands, my face, my body... everything's cold." and "they weren't like me. they must have had real homes." i am weeping. I am inconsolable.

veryyyyy cool to get hisoka stuff in spring, though. i'd hoped, but wasn't sure since it was the spring play and not the winter one. perhaps that'll all reverse with winter since guy will join then and citron can get hi emo time then? the ch doesn’t say who those two kids who talk to hisoka are, but i’m guessing they’re august and april (with the kid that keeps insulting hisoka being april)... we’ll see about that. and they’re inviting hisoka to join the Organization. Hmmm. okay. while i’d love to point and say “and HERE’s the assassin club!” it’s probably a bit more realistic that these people are… multi-talented in their dealings. organization to me implies more than just like assassin-for-hire but like. actual plans so they r um. maybe. …a. what’s the mundane version of a big evil organization? a terrorist agency…? a shady intelligence guild? it doesn’t rly sound like a yakuza/mafia deal. well anyways that’s what i maybe think hisoka is a part of. that’s 100% the kind of group that would take in kids off of the street. probably some of them do assassinations in em.

the "if you stay here like this, you'll die." / "nowhere else... to go." exchange made me lose my mind. Whenever there is ever a piece of media where some character goes like “if you keep being this way, you’ll ruin your life” but that way of life is the ONLY way that person knows how to live, even if its ruining them… that gets me. and then the "how many times have I thought I might die, yet ended up living? living on, all alone." line from hisoka… like this is before august died but i imagine in the period after august died and he hadn’t joined mankai yet… that was true again, wasn’t it. AND THEN THE GINGERBREAD. THAT’S WHY HE FROZE UP DURING THE CHRISTMAS PLAY!!! BECAUSE THAT WAS THE FIRST FOOD HE WAS OFFERED BY THESE TWO… it is funny that they reeled him in with a snack here… it’s the same in the future, only it’s just marshmallows. still, for a kid surviving out on the streets... sweets are probably like a precious delicacy, huh… since they’re not particularly filling. they’re just nice. a step above plain survival. and then hisoka’s told that they’re family now… thinking about how he says that winter troupe is the place he belongs, later.

back to the present i love how when yuzo comes in citron so pleasantly says"oh, yuzo! have you lost your day job?" pfft. makes sense that chikages articulate. hes probably practiced his voice a lot since this one is miles away from his threatening voice, ahah. Also love how hes like “ive dabbled in kabuki!” and no one can tell if he’s telling the truth or not. like i said. he’s suspicious. yuzo agrees with me seeing as hes like chikage’s too calm around everyone. I thought the interview was funny! like tsuzuru, you’ve managed to somehow precog everyone’s character arcs and personalities well enough, but this time you need to interview the guy? yet you parallels a weird amount of tsumugi and tasukus life with sympathy for the angel without knowing shit about them? yet you absolutely hit upon azuma’s own baggage with nocturnality? Considering chikage seems to joke/lie about a lot of things, it is fair… he’s a pretty mysterious character. Has to be since he’s hiding the fact that he’s an assassin and stuff. I muttered to myself for soooo long about the curry thing though i was like what the fuck is an ultimate curry. curry isn’t even one thing in india. at least in the part of india where i’m from, even our stir fries get called curry (by my family at least!) but then chikage was like. oh its fun to mess with u guys so. okay. hisoka seeing chikage and spring and immediately running off tho… i bet that entire exchange hit him hard especially bc chikage was just like. kind of mean and not helpful lol. excited to see how that goes. i hope winter gets to take care of him since he’s Going Through It right now… i still think whoever is ringing masumi must be his parents. its nice that chikage and izumi get to bond over curry! it'll be interesting when the blog thing gets revealed. itaru seemed weird after he had to explain what a stan was to masumi which is like… i wonder what thats abt. he did mention a little that he had a bad time of it in high school during alice in wonderland so i wonder if thatll ever come up. or mb hes just worried abt chikage seeing his gamer pad. who knows. uh. well. that’s my thoughts on the. first five chapters. And ohh that's so cool you get back to previous events. Makes some elements clearer in mind, esp with Hisoka mister subtle exposition backstory over here.

Congratz on noticing all those little details about him on the reread :3c those things still leave me obsessing. Esp the way his acting is described like, that's such an unnatural approach to acting you can't help but raise an eyebrow.

And god yeah. yeah. Hisoka is so weird in the early chapters when you pay extra attention to him it's so much. Another thing from the backstages that might interest you is in Tasuku's New Year's SR (SR - [Careful of Holiday Traffic] - "The Gunslinging Cleaner") where they're all cleaning the dorms, and Winter is doing the bathroom, and Tsumugi and Tasuku end up playing up with the spray bottles to have a pretend fight based on an old play of theirs and it has Tasuku, realistically, get back into his role like he does so well. And Hisoka catches on to that and when Tsumu leaves, he thinks, hey, that was funny, actually funnier that what we're doing, and he takes up two spray bottles as well to play a dual gunner and start to wrap Tasuku into it again. Anyway during this whole bit there's a mention of how Hisoka's way to move feels very natural as he's playing someone who's /using two guns to fight/. Bringing it up so you can add it to your assassin jar.

ANYWAY. CHIKAGE. APRIL. HHHHHHHHHH. You were pointing it out so much in your asks and i was just. pointing while doing uncomprehensible noises, and had to try my best to just go "cool theory! not saying anything tho!" like i wasn't losing my mind because "YOU GOT IT. YOU GOT IT!!!!" (on the April front at least, i'm not confirming anything else LMAO). Chikage's build up was done so well i'm SO glad you caught on the details hhh!! And yeah Hisoka is indeed from Dec. 3rd and omg!!!! twin bday…. I share my bday with his seiyuu personally so we're really onto something here.

The full voice really is so cool!!! And yeah i feel you so much, there's so much characterization in the voice work, the random words we know from song, and even realizing how much they improved since the early day. Always a chill up my spine.

AND YEAH. YEAH THE MIZUNO NAMEDROP. OH MY GOD. holding your hands. See this is why i insisted so hard on you reading all the events, and i'm so glad that you did it. I've had friends who skipped the events because they wanted act 2 so quickly and i was just. no. you don't realize Chikage has been built up, you don't know about Mizuno you dONT- like they legit mentioned then "idk who mizuno is" and i'm just GNHHH. Yeah the audition thing makes sense. esp since now they're popular so it's harder to filter who really would want to make a good actor. not that it means they're actually recruiting a trustworthy bunch bUT. Chikage's face like a sly tanuki so true bestie. His face is up to no good and i love that about him. But yes agreed it works very good on both a wastonian and doylist perspective it's really neat. And YEAH Itaru stamp of approval (to share his gamer pad).

oh god the Masumi's plot. man. (and for the names we improvise as we go, it works out that way). but YEAH Massu you should answer at leAST Sakuay's call gdi!!

ok so for the timeline it's a little weird. In the VN, Sakyo gives them like, a year to revive Mankai first and then one play a month, but it doesn't work with what act 2 says that it's been one year only. In the anime they actually retcon it for real by having Sakyo giving Izumi only one month per troupe, so, it actually fits what the timeline is saying by act 2: that all of act 1's main story and the events all happened in the span of a year. And it makes sense bc at One Play A Month, 3 plays for all 4 troupes gives 12 plays, which makes a lot more sense in general. So Sakyo's original ultimatum has been completely retconned everywhere else at this point.

BUT YEAH SAME i didn't realize Sakuya was older than Masumi until act 2 where the age gap really is pointed out, with Saku leaving High School while Massu is still in. That does explain why Sakuya felt so much "big brotherly" to Masumi too. I do love how he still takes care of Masumi, Sakuya is like. It took me so long for him to even start allowing me around, now i'm his friend nonstop no take back. I think Masumi is "more attached" but it comes from the place of how abyssal his attachement was to start with. Like, Masumi was clearly keeping everyone away before (he didn't even call Sakuya by his name before, that's why Sakuya is overjoyed the day Masumi actually calls him Sakuya) and he's sloooowly letting his guard down but it's not. radical just yet. But yes it does also play on their Nocturnality description of, as a family it doesn't have to be tight and close bond for the love to be unconditional in a way?

And omg about the description and friend. And yeah, so, i think the Japanese term for them is specifically "Nakama" (compared to Spring's "kazoku" (family) and Summer "tomodachi" (friends)). And Nakama is really like. a group of friends or coworkers you're close in with the idea of you're sharing the same goals and ideals. Like, Nakama is used a lot in anime, it can still be close friendship but it's usually in the context of, there's a background that put us together yaknow? and i think "comrades for the same cause" is the best way to translate the idea but as a result this might sound a little clunkier lmao. I think it's, yeah, the goal is acting, but the means to do it is the competition they have against each other to help each other out too. And they come from the same background of intense regrets and moving past that. Brothers in arms if you will. But yeah it's tricky how to word it, it feels natural to describe them that way, like, when Azuma says that it makes sense, but it's a little tricker than that and it's hard to explain without the full picture.

AND YEAH it's nice for the uni repartition. At least the bloodshed isn't spread there LMAO. AND HELPP. Chikage, assigned bunny immediately on first read. The curry alliance would be too strong if Izumi gets an ally. To follow.

oh boy so now. the Hisoka scene. God i was thinking about this scene so much the other day it still drives me insane. Maybe Hisoka would have guessed correctly yeah. And YEAH HOMARE JUST LIKE. "leave it to me, i know so much about you" is so soft. I wonder how Chikage might have felt like, man. This person really knows Hisoka uncomfortably well wtf. but yeah i love Hisoka's "ex-feral homecat behavior" who mellowed to everyone but will be warry of newcomers regardless and will just go into silence for it. all while Chikage is just. :))).

BUT YEAH CHIKAGE APPROACHING HIM. GOD THIS SCENE. I think that like, logically amnesia is easy to believe but emotionally, it must be very hard. Like, Chikage thought Hisoka was dead and facing that he's still alive while August isn't must have been a shock. Plus, personally i can't stop thinking about the fact that Chikage learnt he was alive from hearing about Mankai, Itaru probably passed fliers to Sympathy for the Angel in the office and Chikage probably just. fucking froze thinking he was seeing a ghost and was stalking them ever since. And then you think about Hisoka's roles in the plays and think about how Chikage might have interpreted them. Like, Hisoka's first role was one of an angel that was categoric about letting the person Tsumu's character loved die. He was all about keeping the balance on how if someone has to die, they have to die. The second play has Hisoka investigate a murder while being emotionally distant to it, and the third play has Hisoka play an immortal who, by definition, is surviving other people. and i think it's fair that, in grief, Chikage saw all of those as, oh, he's using his experience to mock what happened. I have more to say esp about MMMBM's play and the way Chikage might have reacted to it but. we'll come back to that later. But what i mean is that i think that, emotionally it was hard to process, Hisoka himself looked like he was handling himself fine, and hell, Hisoka loves his troupe and i think eventually it might have felt like it for Chikage too whichh could def feel like there's nothing wrong with Hisoka and he is really just, moving on.

BUT YEAH it's still. OOF. so mean esp since Hisoka JUST DOESNT KNOOWWW and he has been scared for so long about his past and Chikage basically came back and told him "you have good reasons to be scared of your past and now you'll suffer for it" is just. God. So fucked up. Chikage master at mishandling his grief.

Hisoka did talk about August and apologized when he was sick, clearly, survivor's guilt yes. god Hisoka is usually so distached from everything and nothing really affects him PERSONALLY, at best he worries for others people but everything else he manages to deal with on his own, but god. when Chikage starts to confront him he's so distressed and i feel so bad for him i want to hug him so bad.

me: loving liar characters and digging Chikage's deal from the start VS "if you're mean to Hisoka you will meet my sword" moment for the whole first chapter, so many emotions.

but YOU'RE SO RIGHT about the Inigo Montoya feels to that. And yeah, the flowers were def threats though, once you're done with Awakening Moon i'll share the meaning of them because it still drives me bonkers.

LMAO for yume nikki, the way things change our perspectives i swear. Hisoka's flashback god. it was so much. Sweet boy. Sweetheart. It's just. gnhhh. Everything about this part is so emotional and it's terrifying.

And yeah eheheh. Actually, if you get to see it, the chapter's icon for each of the troupe, in act 1 are colored fully with the troupe's collors: first spring is pink, first summer is yellow ect…. but, once you enter act 2 it's amazing how it's like. spring is pink with some blue. summer is yellow with some autumn. ect…. it's like, even graphicwise they tell you, the other troupe linked too closely to this rookie cannot be footnotes, they're also part of the main plot. and yeah that def sets up as Guy being also a Citron plot doesn't it :3c ehehe.

And yeah the kids. those kids. goodness. yeah. For the organisation i won' talk too much about it but yeah it's def not mafia/yakuza, to me it sounds also sounds like something international (see why Hisoka talks a perfect english) but, yeah. def sounds like a shady organization for sure who's exploiting children who have nowhere else to go. Which makes it pretty grim for Hisoka, but also for the implications for August and April since they were there even before Hisoka. Weep.

and guuhhh that exchange is just. god. holds hisoka in my arms. Hisoka's past being unveiled is so tragic like, you get why he forgot everything, it's ust so fucking miserable. Just suffering and surviving, all alone. AND THE GINGERBREAD YES. YES!!!! also how in the whole Christmas event, it was snowing outside and Hisoka kept zoning out looking at it. Just before the play, he was late backstage because he was completely captivated by the snow outside, and THEN Gingerbread on stage. I think the combo of the two triggered memories in Hisoka without him really registering it yet. It was a cold snowy night and he was offered gingerbread, and this was enough to connect the two. BUT YEAH it's funny they reeled him with a snack, it's really just. Wild kitty approach. And yeah Hisoka didn't change a bit, snacks are the way to his heart. But yes, exactly like you say. The fact it's because those sugarly snacks are delicacy, something he probably couldn't eat before when it was all for survival, so, he probably has those as comfort food on the literal sense of the term of how, it's the one thing that brought him salvation out of the street, it's the one thing that tastes like a home, so Hisoka indulges in sweet and sugar as much as he can. not just survival anymore. idk to me it recontextuatlize his marshmallow quirk from "manchild" to "this is literally the only thing he knows to consider as comfort". Esp considering early in Mankai he was refusing comforts like, a futon because he must be ready to sleep anywhere. It fits with the idea that he used to be homeless and probably had to get used to not be picky about where he fet to sleep. Marshmallows was the one thing he was always selfish about and now he's actually working on his comfort, but yeah, that really puts a lot in perspective on that regards. And yeah. a family…. they were a family. Whatever happened to August made Hisoka lose this family and now he has a new one though…

AND HELPP. I love Citron, he's so funny. god i love your reasoning on why Chikage is so good at everything. "of course this two faced bastard would know that". I LOVE how you can not trust anything that comes out of his mouth. Silly little liar man. Yuzo is so perspective, thank you my dude. And YEAH GOD THE INTERVIEW. So funny. Tsuzuru: can psychanalyse everyone in the company / Tsuzuru: oh no this guy lies so much i can't figure out what to do D:. Looking forward how hte Masumi's plot evolve and yeah it's nice Izumi finally has a curry ally. Might be sus as hell but he's also a curryhead so all crimes are forgiven. Oh Itaru. I guess it's also just that, Itaru learned to be himself with the Spring Troupe but now one of his coworker is there and it's a thin line on walking to like, reveal a side of himself he only revealed to those kids to one of the people he was the most likely to hide it from yaknow? Like suddenly feeling exposed and all. And i think that, like. The rest of the Spring Troupe knowing about his true self is fine as it is, even if Itaru didn't trust them, it's like. Who are they going to tell it to. But with Chikage, Itaru has to test first how much he can trust him and maybe be worried Chikage would talk about it at work. Might explain Itaru's uneasiness.

BUT ANYWAY. FIRST FIVE CHAPTERS. IT WAS A BLAST TO READ.

So I've been like analyzing the songs a lot for Reasons (I am a music lover at heart) and one think I noticed was that in the Watch What Happens reprise, Jack and Davey kinda... switch the names around?

By that I mean Jack calls Davey 'Dave', the literal only time in the show that he uses something other then 'Davey' and Davey calls Jack 'Jackie' which on its own is funny and it's once and never again. I think it's funny.

And I got thinking about how it kinda shows they've switched roles around, with Davey now needing to convince Jack to go through with the strike rather then Jack bringing Davey into a seemingly hopeless battle on a whim. Which is such a small thing but it kinda adds to the song by showing the role reversal!

A lot of the songs have very subtal ways of showing a change in tone, or showing a theme and it's so SO good. I love Seize the Day because of how it starts out slow and kinda sad, then slowly builds into an upbeat and strong song as the newsies gain confidence! Also because the verse that Jack and Davey sing will make me wanna cry every time I listen to it. I am very weak to found family and simluar troupes.

Also do not get me started on my... very over the top analyzation of the entire musical to figure out if Racer is a side character or a supporting character. I have a roughly 10 minute rant about this. I have deduced that he's somehow both and neither at the same time. Mostly going on vibes but also other stuff.

Mankai’s timeline escapes my understanding so, let’s say this happens at some point after ACT 1 ?

You check the time on your phone once again before deciding to approach the dorms. Tsuzuru isn’t reading your texts, and it’s already 10 past the time you had agreed to meet. Shortly after ringing the doorbell, Muku appears timidly behind the door.

“Oh, I remember you! You’re Tsuzuru’s significant other!”

His choice of words surprises you. In just a second, your skin resembles his hair.

“Hi, um… Muku?” You’re unsure about whether you remember his name correctly. The few times you’ve been there, there are always so many people in the living room that the number of names to memorize floods your brain.

“Yes! I guess you’re here to see Tsuzuru?”

You nod and he realizes you’re still standing in the doorway, so he urges you inside. When he sees you’re not taking your shoes off, he pulls a pair of slippers from the cabinet.

“Here, please use this.”

“Oh, thank you but I don’t think I’ll be staying? Tsuzuru and I had plans to go out.”

Muku offers you a gentle smile.

“I think Tsuzuru was finishing the new script for the Spring troupe.”

Oh, no. Another one? You hadn’t heard anything of that.

“But it’s February?”

“If I remember correctly, he mentioned he wants to have the scripts extra early so they can do several plays per season.”

“And when was the deadline for that?”

“Um… I think there was no deadline this time? Because he was doing it early? The director said he should take it easy…”

You sigh. Tsuzuru, taking it easy? You’d like to see that, especially when it comes to writing. It seemed that the only thing that he took easy was your relatio- no. You had decided you wouldn’t have those thoughts.

“You can go to his room if you want.”

“Oh, isn’t… his roommate in?” For some reason, you can’t remember his name even if you’ve heard it a million times. Your brain is too busy worrying, so you decide to take off your shoes to distract yourself with something.

“He’s on the sofa now.” Muku laughs and signals with his head to the side. You peek from the entrance and see a familiar guy wearing headphones.

“Okay, I’ll… check up on Tsuzuru, then.”

“Good luck. Oh, and have fun with your date!”

You wave and thank him. You really need good luck, there aren’t great prospects. You head to Tsuzuru's room and knock a few times. The silence that greets you makes you say goodbye to the plans you had in your head.

After closing the door behind you, you sigh with relief when you see his figure laying down in bed. It’s an improvement from other times he’s passed out on the floor or on the desk, and you can be hopeful maybe that means he is done with the script. And he wasn’t just ignoring your messages on purpose.

You look around the room and see his laptop is still on, the screen black. With curiosity, you try moving the mouse and a document appears on the screen.

“The End”

So he really did it. He did it, and maybe, just maybe, it means that you’ll be able to spend more time with him from now on, even if it’s only a little bit. Even if it’s only till the next play, the next script. You can have this moment of joy, right?

Turning away from the computer – you don’t want to pry on the script, Tsuzuru will show it to you in due time – you move the chair slowly so as not to wake him up. Sitting down, you face his body on the bed. You’d like to say he sleeps like the angels after he is exhausted to death, but truth is, he doesn’t. You can see his eyes are half-open and he is snoring quite loudly. Sleep deprivation really does not suit him at all, and you wish that now that it seems he’ll have to be writing even more than before, he gets better habits.

Like replying to your texts and remembering when you’re meeting.

You look away, trying to shake those thoughts away. Everybody makes mistakes. You can bring it up when he’s conscious, but… you need to trust he isn’t doing it on purpose. You need to trust his feelings for you.

Leaning to one side, you lower your head until your cheek is buried in the blue hoodie that’s hanging from the back of the chair. His scent reaches your nose, and you close your eyes, breathing in. You suddenly feel the tension you didn’t know you were holding, float away. Without thinking, you take off your coat and jacket and slip his hoodie on. You raise the collar to your nose and feel a warmth that’s not caused by the fabric.

“Again with my clothes?” The sound of your clothes rustling must’ve woken him up.

The surprise of hearing Tsuzuru’s voice could’ve made you jolt, but you love his voice so much, a wave of affection washes over you. Finally, you’re hearing it. Your boyfriend’s voice.

“They smell like you,” you reply lowering the collar to its normal position. He is rubbing his entire face, trying to shoo the sleepiness away.

“You’re smiling.” When he points it out, you realize you indeed are smiling widely.

“Well, I’m going on a date with my boyfriend this evening.”

Tsuzuru drops his hands almost immediately, now fully awake. The face he is making is quite funny, but you’re glad it shows he didn’t remember, and he feels bad about it. It’s not an act, you know him enough for that.

“I’m so sorry, what time’s it? I’m sorry I made you wait and come to get me, I’m really – you must be so annoyed with me.”

“It’s not that late, only about 30 minutes late, and I got to see you asleep and to wear this hoodie… oh, and Muku called me your significant other.” You giggle a little, but you know your face doesn’t correspond with your words. It’s always like that.

“This is no way of treating… a significant other.” His voice loses its sharpness by the end of the sentence. “Let me make it up to you.”

“Actually, Tsuzuru, this isn’t the first time that’s happened.” You’re looking down and you can feel your heart is beating like crazy, but you know it is the right thing to do.

He doesn’t say anything, and you hear rustling. He takes your hands in his, and you force yourself to look at him. It feels like you can’t even move the muscles in your face, but at least you’re not crying.

“Will you please look at me?” His voice is soft, and you can feel his hands warming yours. You breathe deeply, trying to calm down, and look at him. “I’m so sorry, and I know saying sorry is not enough, and there are no excuses for being such a lame boyfriend.”

“But surely you must have reasons?” Your voice is so small it seems to belong to someone else and not you. You had been pushing down these feelings for so long, and now you don’t know what to do with them anymore.

Tsuzuru sighs and lets go of one of your hands in favour of rubbing his face again. He has just woken up and he is having this type of conversation. He is less prepared than he could be. Not that he would ever be prepared to have trouble with you.

“I thought I had set an alarm.” He starts, not looking at you. “I… I wanted to finish the script early, and I did, and then I was just going to rest for a bit and go out with you and be able to pay full attention to you, but now…”

“Tsuzuru, how many days have you worked through without real sleep?”

“Only three. Or four.” He looks at you like it’s not a big deal. He took naps, kinda.

You pick up his phone from the desk and easily unlock it using your fingerprint. As you thought, the first thing that appears on the screen is the alarm app.

“You must’ve slept through your alarms.”

“I’m sorr-”

“You could’ve just told me?”

“Told you?” He hides his free hand in his jean pocket.

“Yeah, we would’ve rescheduled, you could’ve slept for a day, and probably you would’ve also had time for eating something. You can’t survive just with protein bars for days, you know.” You pick up the stack of empty wrapping that’s next to the mouse and throw it into the bin.

“I didn’t want to reschedule.” He squeezes your hand, making you look at him.

“Why not?”

“Well… Valentine’s Day is around the corner and… I didn’t want to cause you any unnecessary worry. I wanted to show you you are my priority, and I messed up big time.”

“You could’ve still told me about the script. Maybe I could’ve just come and hung out with you, I don’t know. It’s not the first time we hang out together while you work.”

“…I don’t want you to get bored of me.” His voice is barely a whisper now, and his hand squeezes yours tighter.

“Why would I get bored of you?”

“I…well, you know how I get when I’m in the middle of a script. My brain just… everything can be ideas for it and then I just want to write them as fast as possible and theatre is all I talk about even if I’m with you or if we’re in the middle of a date, and we don’t even have that many opportunities to go on dates because I have my part-time job and rehearsals and- I don’t want you to get tired of all this, I don’t want to have less time for you, I don’t want to have to reschedule and-” He has been speaking without looking at you once. You reach for his face and cup his cheek.

“Tsuzuru, I know you, and I knew you were in theatre and that you wrote scripts before we even began dating. Yes, it’s true I never knew it could get this crazy while you’re in the middle of a script, but… You’re still you. In fact, you’re you for it. And now… I know you like the inside of your hoodie,” you say, trying to impress him with your choice of words, and trying to lighten the mood. He smiles a little and you also relax.

“Hey, how many times have you secretly worn this already?”

“Not enough times.” You hide your hands inside of the pocket. “I know you like this hoodie, and yet… sometimes I still find mysterious pockets suddenly appearing.”

“Well, I need to surprise you so you don’t get bored, right?”

“Again with this? Honestly, sometimes I wish you were less surprising.” You gently nudge him and he playfully falls backwards on the bed. Suddenly, one of the things he had said clicked in your mind. “Did you… did you try to finish the script faster than usual?”

“Well, of course. I wanted to meet with you, and give you my full attention. I told you. But… not just that.” He gets back up and looks at you. “I actually… wanted to show you some parts of the script.”

“Yeah? You’re happy with how it turned out?”

“Yes, but I also wanted to ask your thoughts on certain parts.”

You chuckle.

“Tsuzuru, I’m no professional. I’m not you.”

“Ah, I’m not a professional either.” He blushes a bit. “But your opinion is still important to me. I wanted… to write something that you would enjoy.” He looks away from you. “Since, you know… you always end up reading it… and you always come to watch our plays…”

Warmth begins to spread in your chest. You feel like laughing. What the hell had you been worrying about? It feels stupid now, like a nightmare you wake up from. And you love this reality.

“You’re incredible, Tsuzuru. I love you.”

“I love you too.” His smile gets bigger, and he giggles a little. “In fact, I think I love you more.”

“Eh? How dare you!” You jump from your seat to tumble on top of him, making him fall backwards again. Your arms twine around his neck, and he hugs you tightly while your bodies wiggle with laughter.

“I know you love me,” you whisper looking at him. “But sometimes… I wish I felt it instead of hearing it.”

“You have a way with words today, huh?” He closes the distance between your faces and brushes your noses together.

“Well, it must be your skill rubbing off on me.” You kiss him softly, melting a bit more in his arms. Now that the tension and worrying are over, you feel as if you’re floating. He returns the kiss, but before you can get lost in his warmth and sweetness, you break away.

“If rescheduling means you’ll take better care of yourself, I want you to reschedule next time. Or at least tell me what’s going on, please?” You place your arms on his chest, propelling yourself up to properly see his face.

“…I’ll tell you what’s going on. But I won’t reschedule.”

You pout but decide it’s good enough.

“Nap?” You suggest, seeing the dark circles under his eyes.

“Yes, please. I love napping with you.” You get off of him and entwine your legs with his. “But if you get bored, you have to wake me up.” If you can, Tsuzuru thinks.

“I won’t get bored, I can do this.” You move to gently peck his lips.

You stay so close, with a gentle move forwards and you’re both brushing your lips together. Your breaths mix together, and Tsuzuru caresses your hair with his eyes closed. This quiet proximity is bliss.

It’s not clear which one of you falls asleep first.

Hi! I'm a gay fan of 911 and I have a question about the whole Buddie fandom. As much as I like Buck and Eddie, it's frustrating that a HUGE part of the fandom is pushing for these two characters to get together instead of putting energy into supporting Hen & Carla and Michael & Dave. Not to mention Carlos and TK in Lone Star. Can you explain to me the appeal of wanting these two men together? Wouldn't it be more interesting to see two heterosexual males just be able to bond in a non-toxic fashion? That's something we don't get to see often on television.

Hey! This is MAD long lmao I am so sorry! You caught me on a day I felt like talking! Also this took like a year to answer you lolololol. This does have a few ʻhot takesʻ so please be warned! So like in this essay....

So first I am also apart of the LGBTQIA+ community, so I do understand how it could come across as a fetish or being non supportive of the current canonically LGBTQIA+ characters, however I think a lot of the interest around Buddie and the want for them to be confirmed as a couple is how they are being written. Me personally I knew since s2 e1 Buck and Eddie were written not as rivals but as two people who would eventually become friends, but it wasn’t until the Christmas episode with the elf assuming Buck was Chris’s dad and Eddie’s partner that I was like ‘hold on!’ because I was really hoping Abbey would return and I didn’t see Eddie as a possible Buck live interest because of that. The elf’s comment wasn’t played off like most other shows would (think Dean and Sam arriving anywhere in Supernatural) it made me go back and look at the other episodes to see exactly how Buck and Eddie were being framed/written. And as we have moved into further seasons I think there has been a shift in how Buddie is being written, in s3 it was very much like two people progressing into a deeper friendship then the blood clot/lawsuit gets in the way and they both have to deal with emotions surrounding that, then Buck’s response to Eddie being trapped (we see how is he when Boddy is trapped in a fire WITH A GUNMAN, it’s emotional but not to the point is is with Eddie), even the love interests feel very pushed on us and there’s so little banter between Buddie about their gfs and how they feel about these new beginnings. It feels off, not like a friendship in the slightest, more like two people trying to force something and not wanting to deal with any other feelings. Then when Eddie gets shot and reveals Buck is Chris’s legal Guardian in the event Eddie dies, that’s huge, and he did this after only a year of knowing Buck (I have friends with kids. I’ve known one of them for FIVE years, I’m at their house every week, the kid calls me family. I’m person #10 on the list of ‘who gets my kid if I die’, not #1 lol) It just feels like it’s all building up to something, and people are getting tired of waiting for that something! We’re all emotionally tired from the past two years, and probably from many shows queerbaiting us and this is something that could happen, seems to be something the actors are ok with and the fans want. So why do they keep drawing it out. This isn’t about us demanding they ignore the chance to write a healthy platonic male friendship, or forcing two characters to be gay, it’s about holding the writers to what they’ve implied and seeing what could come of it.

Also think of it like this; If Buddie is confirmed it will still be a good example of a healthy friendship which then developed into something else, like Booth/Bones! Showing the natural progression of friendship to relationship that happens a lot in real life. It’s two men who previously (on screen at least) have only been with woman, but now they have an emotionally connection with someone which they then develop and explore. This could be 911’s first nontoxic depiction of two gay characters coming together, because sorry not sorry the canon couples aren’t perfect (which does humanize them) but they also reenforce harmful troupes that plaque the LGBTQIA+ community, which I’m sure you understand: TK was a drug addict, who only got with Carlos at first cause he was hot and sex was TK’s new addition (all gay men are sex addicts who do drugs and sleep with anything that moves). Carlos was ashamed and wanted to keep TK on the downlow (poc gay men want to pretend to be straight but have free access to gay sex). Hen cheated on Karen seemingly the first chance she got (lesbians can’t handle monogamy when pushed, and cheat on their long term partners). All known and documented troupes that happen far too often.

I’m not saying Buddie is some gay jesus ship that’s gonna save the entertainment industry but if done right it could prove to be one of the few healthy depictions of two men getting into a gay relationship we have. If they plan it out correctly, show us the relationship development, like they did with Maddie/Chim for example, Buddie could be used as a positive example of a gay fictional relationship (I really could go into depth about this. I probably should tbh).

As for not supporting Hen and KAREN, or Michael and DAVID, I think fans do support them! The writers don’t. If you read fanfics Henren and Michael/David are featured heavily in many fics, and ik some people might say ‘well they’re only there so Buddie can talk about their gay side!!’ but both these couples have their own fans and fanfic tags! They aren’t just plot devices in Buddie stories. There is a huge side of the fandom that supports Henren and wants to see more of them and their family. Same with Michael and David, during the episode where Michael and Bobby team up to find that plastic surgeon who was working illegally many people where ecstatic that we were getting more Michael/David content and that David was getting more than a couple lines. But sadly it seems like the writers only want to delve into these story lines when they need filler, they even miss opportunities to include these other LGBTQIA+ characters when it makes sense;

(Someone came for me about this but I am going to bring it up again)

When Chris is sad and wants more human connection, instead of bring Harry + Michael/David and Denny+Nia+Henren back into the picture (and yes I understood at the time the pandemic was bad (lmao still is!!), but all the actors at some point would have/had crossed over into each other’s ‘bubbles’, so ALL the actors would have been exposed to each other so getting the children together with adults they had ALREADY been with during shooting wouldn’t have been a super spreader event) but instead they brought in Ana after only two on screen dates and pretended like it was a logical thing for someone who’s up to that point been extremely careful with their child.

They really could have pushed the ‘118 is a family!’ message here and included the canonically gay supporting characters, and the lesbian main character(s) but they did not and instead chose to push the Ana/Eddie coupling even though they hadn’t properly developed it yet. The writers themselves don’t seem to care about developing their canonically gay characters and including them more than they have to but fans are continuously developing Henren and Michael/David with hc and fics.

I’d like to use your logic against you for a second, in s1 we have a very healthy, platonic friendship between Chim/Bobby but that got written out to the point they are more like boss/employee unless the scene calls for them to seem closer, we now have Bobby and Michael friendship but again we hardly see Michael. On Lone Star we have Owen and Judd as a really, really good example of a healthy male friendship but we see Judd more often with Tommy now then we do with Owen, and in s2 it’s overshadowed by Owen trusting Charlie from Twilight and constantly getting fucked over! Why can’t the writter just be happy with these happy, healthy, emotionally well male-male friendship they’ve already included and expand upon them. There’s enough drama because the show literally involves burning buildings and people’s lives being at risk from some natural/man made disaster ever 12 seconds. Does it need to have so much interpersonal conflict and male peacocking??

Alright, 5 things I like about me...

I choose kindness first. It's something I struggle with, but I want to be a positive energy in the world.

That I am working on getting my tattoos all situated! In the middle of my left sleeve, currently, but eventually I'm gonna have everything that's on my list (speaking that into being)!

I try very hard, and give as much of myself as I can. Whether that's in the work I do for my family (I play little suzy homemaker to my parents, who I live with) or in my more self-based things (didn't want to call it personal, though it is, it's mostly just health stuff and working on making a happy, full life for myself!)

I like that I am passionate about so many different things, or that I enjoy a wide range of things?

I can't really think of anything, lol. Errr- oh! I like that I have pretty well-trained lungs? Lol I used to do a lot of singing/acting/etc. in a theater troupe. Nowadays I just sing when I'm alone in my house (my neighbors are all a decent distance away, so I'm not disturbing anyone), but I still really value that I have fairly decent control over my breath!

Entered the Revue in 2014 as the 100th class. Her favourite roles include Oswald Vickers for "A Fairy Tale” newcomers’ performance. She was originally going to have a newcomers’ performance lead for “Haikara-san: Here Comes Miss Modern” in 2020 but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, she went on Yuzuka Rei’s “Lock-On” Episode as a guest to talk about what she learnt from Rei, being Rei’s first “shinko kid” since she became Top Star. Later on in 2022, she starred in the Bow Workshop “Junjou” (or Complete Devotion) alongside with Mihane Ai as her partner. She also previously joined Minami Maito in her CAST side-A and was one of the members of Flor5. She will be performing with Minami Maito in her “One and Only” dinner show, also the final performance for Minami Maito as a Flower Troupe member before transferring to Senka.

Hi everyone! How is everyone doing!?

Very quickly we’re at our last entry of “のせ様’s Documented Events" this month. It’s hard to say goodbye but at least the underclassmen were finally familiar with calling me “Nose-san!” so Ichinose is very satisfied (check out the January entry for more details)😁 In this month, I’ll document some of the cheerful events as the last entry…✨

🌻 The stolen frill pants

Even though this is random, here’s some FYI✨ During the performances, we call the room for changing our clothes as the “Costume Department”, and inside the Costume Department, the room is divided into 4 teams: upperclassmen in Team 1, and middle-classmen are in Teams 2-3 while lowerclassmen use Team 4 and we change in our respective years according to this system.

Then one day…We heard Team 1 people yelling and laughing…! As we’re thinking what’s going on, Kureha-san was standing there wearing short purple and pink frill pants…(LOL).

Why is that! We started becoming concerned and interested with why she looked like that. Mon-san (Maizuki) and Shi-sama (Kazumi) also said, “What the heck~!!🤣” and was erupting into laughter all over again. Shi-sama asked Hito-san (Towaki) close to her and suggested “What if Hitoko (Towaki) also wears it?” Hito-san said, “I’m going to wear it😁✌🏻” (LOL). Then after that Kureha-san removed those frill pants and then again Hito-san wore it, and did various kinds of posing it with it. (LOL)

Then our Kumichou Aoi-san (Mikaze) also asked, “Whose pants are those! LOL” Rinno-san then replied very innocently…”🥺 They took it away frome me~😭” So it turns out this purple and pink frill pants are part of Rinno-san’s rockette costume. “Rinrin (Rinno). It’s no good if you don’t keep (your pants) well. This sight is bad for your eyes!” Aoi-san scolded and with that everyone was bursting into laughter even more. We laughed a little more and the adorable upperclassmen slowly left the scene.

So for our readers. Do take care of your cute costumes because if you don’t, the otokoyaku would be aiming to have them for themselves. Watch out😎

🌻The princess battle

For us Takarasiennes, when we send the graduates off, we have a wonderful culture of “Sending pure white decoration goods to the graduates 10 days before the Senshuuraku and give them a gorgeous goodbye”.

This time, apart from the graduates, there’s also one person leaving Flower Troupe. Her name is Minami Maito-san! It’s hard to say goodbye since she’ll be transferring to Senka, so we thought about creating even at least one or more memories with her! And with that, we assembled the underclassmen and thought about the “D-10 leaving plan”😎Hehehe,

The concept is groundbreaking…

It’s a Battle for the Prince in which “Minami Prince” chooses the “Princesses”💖  (LOL).

D-10. In the morning when we enter the backstage, everyone was getting ready for their fit. Seino (Asuka) was wearing a golden blonde holding a board which wrote “The Prince’s Women”. Tatsuki (Mio) was wearing pizza glasses. Sakino (Mion) did a sexy Showa Regent hair. Itotsuki (Yukiha) not wearing makeup. Natsuki held a board which was “IKEMEN STOP (*Cool guy, stop there)”. Kaito (Asahi) and Reaki (Mira) and Kagami (Seiju) borrowed some offstage musuemyaku skirts, Tsubasa (Anju) and Taou (Shun) and Futaba (Yuyu) wore several red, blue and green Afro hair and somehow also with devil horns.

…Well we’re not princesses anymore.

We’re just a terrorist group (LOL).

Of course for me I wore silver long hair and joined in by holding a board which wrote, “Please wink at me”. (NOTE: EVERYONE: THE TIME NOW IS PAST 8AM. THIS IS REALLY SCARY (LOL.)

Yuzuka-san was also invited to join half-forcingly to wear a tiara, everyone was ready. Everyone waited at the door of the backstage in standby, and the moment when Minami-san entered the backstage, the Battle for the Prince started. We also forcingly asked Minami-san to cosplay as a prince, holding a caned stick and we followed her as she entered into the backstage. Then afterwards, we finished by taking a photo.

As we were dismissed, we princesses asked Minami-san, “Who are you choosing~?😁💓” to which she repsponded…

With just one sentence “I will think about it” (LOL).

The Princesses’ battle is still ongoing. Prince Minami…😁💓 Can I wait for the day when you choose me? (LOL)

🌻 The conclusion

Have you enjoyed “のせ様’s Documented Events”? I’d often be thinking if what I write could make someone happy…and I’ve been very happy for these 3 months.😌☘️

It’s not just about collecting these news stories, but also I felt that this is a section where I could document Flower Troupe in laughter and show you how healing this feels. It’s such a pity that I would have to delete the Stuck Memo in my iPhone. …That’s right!💡 I joked asking “Editor-san! Can I continue writing (Eto-Bun)?” But anyway for the readers who purchase Kageki, please stay tuned for the next month’s issue!
