I remember feeling just like the character about things in the world as a child except that I was conditioned to pay attention to my facial expressions very closely.

Don't mind me, just yapping and organizing my thoughts about my olnf mcs! Specifically step 1 for now, will probably do step 2 soon though bc I love writing and talking about them 😊

Nova Grace "Gracie" Woods! She currently identifies as a girl and uses She/Her. (Nova was my second requested voiced name for the ks after my irl name, so hopefully it makes it in!)

A nervous wreck about pretty much everything. Bffs with Tamarack and has a crush on Qiu, though she hasn't realized it yet! She prefers not to talk a lot and communicates mostly through ASL(she and Opal are fluent) or writing.

Very short, probably a good inch or two shorter than Tama. She is half Black on Opal's side and half Native Hawaiian from her donor. Her hair is actually dark blue and not brown like how the doll maker currently makes it look. Qiu probably thought she was exaggerating when she said she falls a lot, and very quickly finds out she was not. She's very rarely without a bandage or two at this age.

Her favorite color is teal, or really any shade of blue. She's autistic and has a special interest in space, and is usually wearing something with a design or pattern around that. She loves playing in the woods, especially with her two best neighbors 😊

Annabeth "Beck" Estrella Hyyde! She was born intersex and AFAB, and currently uses She/Her. (Annabeth was my third requested voiced name, so we'll see if that ends up in there lol)

A very outgoing and hyperactive kid, Beck loves anything to do with the outdoors or making new friends. She has a crush on Tamarack and is good friends with Qiu. It doesn't show on the doll, but she has a white streak in the front of her hair from her vitiligo. (She's the one holding Tama in my profile pic!)

She is Afro-Latina with Dominican roots. She was born in the US but moved to and around South America as a baby and young kid before Opal's job took them back to the states when she was 8. Spanish is her first language and English is her second.

She currently has undiagnosed ADHD and dyslexia and struggles in school even though she always tries her best. I feel like Mrs. Murray would be the type to recognize effort and desire to learn, plus she's still in elementary so her grades wouldn't be bad. In later steps this is not necessarily the case unfortunately.

Although she loves all sports, soccer is the coolest and her most favorite. She can juggle it 40 times in a row without dropping it, just watch! Her favorite color is rainbow, or maybe cranberry like her and her Mamá's hair.

Elijah "Eli" Othello Anderson. He currently identifies as a boy and uses He/Him. He's Black and doesn't know(aka I haven't decided) much about his heritage. I am on the fence about his current hair color and might change or tweak it a bit.

One of the most laid back and breezy kids you'll ever meet. He just wants to have fun and make new friends! He's got a pun or other terrible joke ready at any given moment so watch out.

He does have a bad habit of putting others before himself, much to the disappointment of his Mama. Is it really such a bad thing that he wants to make other people happy?

He finds something of a kindred soul in Qiu in that way. They just get each other in a way most other kids don't. They're clearly destined to be best friends, or maybe even more. He has a soft spot for Tam too, hopefully they'll all be good friends forever.

Cassiopeia "Cassie" Lotus Aoki-Jones. She identifies as a girl and has since she was six and currently uses She/Her. Her mom has Egyptian heritage and her donor was half Japanese.

More than anything, Cassie is mad. She doesn't want to move away from her old friends and life, especially to a place surrounded by dirty and icky woods. Why couldn't she and her annoying Mom just stay where they were?

No one else here even knows about roller skating, or butterflies, or anything cool. Sigh, at least there's a ballet class where she can show off her skills.

Most things here are pretty bad, but the two neighbors her age are pretty okay. Both of them are nice and sweet and pretty... what was she saying again?

!!!!! an excuse to talk about my fave fic???? Of course! I read a lot of fics and I like a lot of them, but here I'm just gonna rant about my fave one :D

Eddie repeats his affirmations in the mirror every morning, while he shaves the stubble from his jaw. My name is Eddie Diaz. I am autistic. I am gay. I am a good dad and I am a good person. I deserve to be happy and I deserve to feel good. (It's taken him a long to be able to say it outside of his head. It's taken him an even longer time to say it and believe it.)

I am obsessed with this series, I've read it twice in its entirely and gone feral about it twice too (see my unhinged comments on every work lol), even though I'm usually not a re-reader ever.

It's just so so so so so good and I love it to bits. The little built up of Eddie's back story and childhood that is then pulled into the now, is top notch and I absolutely adore the healing arc and the growing into himself arc of this fic, it's just so delightful and healing.

Also, I love autistic Eddie, it feels so correct and this is the best autsitic Eddie I've seen. Like, he is just projection board shaped <3

Furthermore, I am absolutely in love with the way Eddie's trauma is built up here alongside his internalized homophobia, as well as the way it's slowly broken down as he tries to break free of it. It's just tasty delicious.

The Buddie is also amazing and I love Buck in this series as well as they Buckley-Diaz family and 118 firefam vibes. The way this series does interpersonal relationships is just amazing and the dynamics are top notch <3

Plus, this fic actually gives Helena and Ramon a proper fucked up parents trying to do better and failing sometimes arc. I have a deep hatred for the Diaz parents and I hate what season 6&7 did with them, trying to shittily redeem them and I don't trust season 8 and I won't until Chris is home. So, usually I dislike anyone trying to make them sympathetic, but this fic does it so welllllllll. I truly hope someone in the writer's room sees this, so they can do better, because, yeah, they cannot make up for what they did and they still have a lot to work through themselves, but if they want to have Eddie in their lives, if they want to have Chris, they need to work for it, which is great to see.

Okay, so that's me ranting about this fic about my favorite little guy (hi, yes, I am an Eddie girlie and I won't apologize, I love his messy ass <333). Do go check it out and give the author some love from me, because it's just amazing

Head Canons For Dante From Devil May Cry

I think about Dante way too much so I thought I would share my thoughts on some head canons of my own. Especially since the fandom for me gets so fucking dryyyyyyy Like please, I need more content or I'm going to spontaneously combust and not even in a hot and sexy way. (Or it still will be I just wont feel like it, but looking like hell on wheels is the goal!) yes that was a Heathers reference don't come at me Am I cringe? Yes. Am I free? Yes. He's a big dork and his favorite thing to do is make his S/O laugh. Filling their soul with light is his favorite thing to do. teehee So he says the stupidest jokes to make them double over in laughter.

This is a bit of a double edged sword however since he uses humor and sarcasm as a major crutch / coping mechanism. He can be serious when the situation calls for it, but most of the time he doesn't want situations and mishaps to weigh on himself or those around him too heavily.

He's HELLA broke. So he'd take full advantage of free things to do like spending the night under the stars in a park after hours. Something that feels like "We aren't supposed to be out here!" but isn't really harmful / breaking the law.

I think he has some sort of collection of some sort. I think he collects seashells because they remind him of more serene times in his childhood. Probably hand sized conches or perhaps sand dollars (because its the only 'dollars' Lady cant swindle out of him ;u;)

Will die on the hill of pizza being a "balanced meal" insisting that it has all the important food groups therefore pizza is healthier than media wants people to think.

Despite his habits of leaving his pizza boxes about and letting Patty clean up after him- his own personal hygiene is actually really important to him. He always makes sure to take a shower after he gets back from every mission.

He honestly cant stand the scent of demon blood on him, it makes him a little anxious because it takes him back to the night of the fire / attack every time. (babyyyy boyyyyyyyyyyyy)

His love language is physical touch (giving) and acts of service (receiving). When he gets more comfortable with you, he's got some part of him touching you at all times: a thigh pressed against yours, a gentle hand around your shoulders or the small of your back, insistent on you laying on his shoulder or in his lap if you're tired. He'll be super appreciative of you organizing things when his mind gets too jumbled or he's just brooding.

I'm sick of people calling him lazy. I don't think he doesn't clean up because he doesn't want to- I think he's just overwhelmed most of the time / overstimulated to do anything if he's not in battle.

I strongly feel like he has some sort of ADHD, Depression and CPTSD due to his trauma. (Losing / killing his brother several times, his mother being killed, his father up and disappearing one day, losing his found family repeatedly: Grue, Nell, Jessica... etc)

He'd probably be super understanding of a neurodivergent s/o and be more than happy to "parallel play" in the shop. He reads his magazines on the couch with you while you read a book. Or he'll try to get some semblance of work done at his desk on the occasion while you watch your favorite tv show.

hey, something i've been struggling with recently is i've been struggling with "finding my people" because i'm a minority in my hometown, and a lot of people... aren't. they don't understand me, and often when i try to get them to understand they seem like they fall back into the old systems they were traumatized with (elitism, classism ect.,). 1/2 -solidarity anon

Im gunna say this at the top, this is so rough and im so sorry you gotta go through this sweetie. We are so isolated and filtered into categories within our current system in order to keep that isolation and to fight solidarity and unity. Now I cannot know for 100% sure what your going through or the extend your suffering. But will say I am from and currently still live in a oil loving, god fearing, anti-LGBT, and very racist city while i was raised wiccan by a poly core family and all my gay aunts/uncles and have been dreaming of an earthship my whole life plus every summer id be stuck in an even more harsh farming community that was so small they gotntheir first street light when i was 9 and the chruch is also town hall (mayor works in a wing off of the building). So there is at least some overlap in the experiences your having.

But that being said, how I got weirdly connected to people and involved in so many projects and stuff might not work for you.

Personally? I just yelled and yelled about the injustice of the system at work, about cool forestry projects and people buying ghost towns to start up Co-loving villages. Sharing discworld and different philosophers with coworkers backed up by their fave hobby. About how terrible the conservative politics are. About how cool transit could be if we funded it. About community art projects and how cool solar glass would make things look. About drags shows and events and did you know there is A SOUP FESTIVAL? I'm autistic and have only really interacted my whole childhood with friends with ADHD so my brain is weird and won't shut up once it starts going.

As a result of my ramblings, I have gotten a lot of responses mostly ones that are positive since if they didn't agree with my absurdist philosophy ramblings or solar project ideas they'd just leave the coffee shop. If they enjoyed it, say they want to join a community garden/event or if someone was as stoked as I was about again UNLIMITED TASTINGS SOUP FESTIVAL than we'd chat about that. The thing is a lot of these things have overlap. Someone who wants to convert their lawn into a pollinators habitate prob also likes little libraries and as a result prob also likes the idea of dark sky street lights. And down the rabbit hole you go.

That being said... my best actual advice is 2 pronged.

RESEARCH and REACH OUT

I personally have done years worth of research on my city. What local events and politics are happening? Even in rural places there is at least garderns, there's engineers, there's usually a LGBT focused club. And from these spaces, you can build a network. Doing research I found out about 5 different organizations in my city (most of which was founded 40 yrs ago??) That where sustainability focused. Doing research made me realize how cool community associations could be and how I could help mine out. It also gives you all those ideas for convos.

Second, I reached out to those groups about weird ideas I had, about if I could hang up posters for them in my local area, if I could buy groups worth of tickets in advance, and than also reaching out to the ppl I already talked to and had these ppl interact. My fave example of this is T. T is an engineer who built a fully functioning solar car during his degree program but specializes in hydroponics (how we ended up talking was over plants) he than gets shown my fave farm near by and now he's building the farms hydro system and Seedling house. Writing in to newsletter ppl and showing off weird layout design. This is ultimately very anxiety indusing. What if I'm bothering them? Why should I be spamming them like this? But the secret here is-

No one will ever be mad about you showing interest in their interest once you find those ppl. They want the interaction just as much as you do.

I have been watching oitnb for probably 10 years now which is the longest I have ever taken for a show (and I still have 1 season to go). and the weirdest thing is, it's not bc I dislike the show in any way, I actually really enjoy it, but it's somehow one of the most exhausting things to watch, mostly bc there is so much plot condensed into a time frame of like a few days to a few months at max. I personally am not a fan of this bc I like 1 season = 1 year, but me watching this show so slowly is mostly due to the fact that I have to be in a very specific mood to handle it. I don't quite know why, but it's similar for me with got (even though I'm clearly more often in the mood for that than oitnb).

anyway, very long prologue for wanting to say that season 6 was great, probably my favorite so far, next to season 2 I think. I only didn't enjoy the one with vee (was that season 3?) too much, but I generally liked all of them for different reasons. and season 7 is said to be one of the best overall tv show seasons, so I'm excited for that.

I particularly liked 6 bc the plot was very organized in the sense that we had a premise from about episode 2 onwards and there was a conclusion at the end (even though it was different than expected and I loved that it was for once an almost happy ending). I personally loved carol and barb, it was such wonderful dark humor, and the little 80s flashbacks were a treat. the other minor characters like the new (esp alvarez giving autistism rep) and the old guards (esp the mormon one) were great as well (not as in nice people neccessarily, but they made a great backdrop) and generally none of the new characters felt forced and I'm glad they will all return next season. and who thought caputo and fig would be the cutest couple of the season?? I also liked alex and piper, but I was so certain piper was gonna do something stupid again and mess up her early release. but yay she did it!

it's also worth mentioning that there were some really sad and dark things again that were really well done, like daya's abuse, the trial around taystee, and flores' deportation at the end. oitnb is just one of the few shows that ace dramedy so perfectly by balancing hilarious and devastating scenes.

let’s be real, 9-1-1 is not a fandom abundant with unusual aus, so this is a treasure. i was fed, hydrated, given a good night’s sleep and a firm beautiful hug, thank you.

the characterization, the buddie relationship- all of it is chef’s kiss. i also really liked the way emotional states were portrayed and narrated here, literal fucking gold. there are a lot of very intense extreme emotions in there and the fact that they stayed so consistent and true to the characterizations and fit into a logical progressive arc makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. also, autistic eddie diaz, my beloved. but ALSO, demisexual eddie diaz, even more beloved and very well-explored at that.

i also LOVED shannon in this one and their relationship with eddie. and also, just in general, i loved the way all the little details tied together in one deep and full picture in this fic - christopher meeting buck before eddie did, buck researching other people’s coma experiences. i just love how many thought was put in the creation of this fic and it really paid off.

and the anticipation built before the real-life buddie meeting had me squirming and flailing my hands, i was so SO happy with how it had me on the edge of my seat. and the meeting itself - fucking beautiful. all of the work is, really.

but, above all, the premise and the way it was brought to life in this work had me absolutely hooked. i wish all the fic writers a very having mad interesting dreams that inspire you to write mad interesting stories.

also, eddie smelling like pomegranates was an absolute delight and one of my favorite details in this fic, i did not blink on this reference.

This is a trait that she actually inherited from her grandfather (E. Gadd) although it makes it hard for her to choose which hand will be dominant that day and which hand will be semi dominant.

Fun fact 3: Clove is autistic

She actually hates this the most about herself. The reason why she is seen as black sheep to her family and "Nothing you do will ever be good enough" is because she's autistic. It took a loonnnggg time for her to finally accept her autism (like until the Genesis Arc)

I myself am a different kind of nerodivergent (The ADHD) but I chose to make Clove autistic because it just fits her character (I really hope I'm not misrepresenting autistic people when i use her...I know making her scientist is already kinda stereotypical)

It's called Stahl's ear or "Spock's ear" and it's actually pretty rare! (I have Stahl's ear lmao) Clove used to hate it when she was younger but as she grew up, she cared less.

Specifically, Sandra Bullock from Miss. Congeniality

Introducing the newest expansion of the Fooled Around (and Fell in Love) Series:

Primed for Love is a four-chapter prelude, set before the events of Part 1. This new expansion serves to tell the back stories of the pivotal moments which led to the intertwining of Will, JJ, Tara, and Emily's lives.

Chapter 1: William LaMontange Jr

After his relationship falls apart in New Orleans, newly single Will moves to DC at his best friend's suggestion. Derek then decides to play wing-man to help find Will the perfect woman.

Chapter 2: Tara Lewis

Upon joining the BAU, Tara finds out she doesn't have the capacity for both her job and her relationship. Good thing she doesn't mind being single.

Chapter 3: Emily Prentiss

Things fall apart between Emily and the married woman she's been sleeping with. In an Autistic burnout tailspin, she turns to her two best friends, Spencer and Luke, for comfort.

Chapter 4: Jennifer Jareau

JJ and Will buy a house together and despite her ongoing claim that she never wants to get married, JJ realises maybe, just maybe, Will LaMontange is her forever.

Cheeseaged Exocolonist Age 15: Use my transcendence of time to cheat at cards

In which I befriend a furry by financially ruining him, in order to reach my full potential and ascend as an autistic god.

Year 15 starts with your home in ruins. There's no special dialogues, and only two ways to pass the first three months: help rebuild or mourn. I choose to mourn, because this is Sol's first time experiencing death (in this lifetime), and because, having maxed out Organizing, rebuilding is highly suboptimal, whereas mourning lets me avoid stress and trim my deck of useless non-blue filth.

Because I chose the sportsball, I find it when sifting through the rubble of my room and get this rather sad dialogue.

Mourning gives you many opportunities to level your Empathy. However, because I have the In Mourning status, all my stat increases are reduced by 1, rendering every single one of these +1 boosts completely worthless.

This always happens, because Kom always dies. I'm not sure if this was an attempt to really underscore how hurt Sol is, an oversight, or a straight-up troll.

After three months of developing my Empathy in nonexistent amounts, the Heliopause arrives, and Sol's home is gradually taken over by fascists who enthusiastically spread disease, worship the military and hate transgender people. I enjoy visual novels because it's a fun escape from the problems of the real world.

Fortunately, there are exactly two nice Helio kids, Nomi and Rex. Nomi is an nonbinary AuDHD techie and Rex is a furry engineer. Rex often reminds you that he is part dog, in case you had missed the ears. His dog traits include a reduced lifespan. This is not, to be clear, a setting where people just have mutations. This was a deliberate genetic augmentation. Someone purposefully made their kid part-dog. Incidentally, Nomi likes anime, so here's a panel from one of my old favourites, Fullmetal Alchemist. They've never seen that one, so really this picture wasn't relevant. Sorry.

I improve my friendship level with Rex by giving him sticks, his favourite item because he is part dog. Rex is easier than most to befriend because he enjoys physical affection, because he is part dog. I love Exocolonist, so rather than saying anything bad about the game here, I will reiterate that my favourite character is Tangent, because she's a complex person with a well-integrated character arc in dialogue with the central themes. The writers really took their time to make a fleshed-out character with deep relationships with the others and multiple character traits.

Once I have high enough friendship with Rex, he wants to play cards with me. I wait to play cards with him until after Vertumnalia, where I beat both Tangent and Nomi at the trivia game. The card you get from doing Trivia is worth 8, making it as powerful as the card you get for defeating a giant in a fight to the death. Better yet, it's blue. Why do I keep picking blue cards? You're about to see.

After Vertumnalia, I am Popular because of my detailed knowledge of pop culture trivia. I would fit right in on Vertumna, except it is currently ruled by fascists. We'll take care of that, but first we need to arm ourselves. Popularity doubles the amount of kudos you get for three months. From all sources. Now's the time to take Rex up on his offer to play cards. Rex is good at cards, but he has one critical weakness: he's playing against someone who has played this particular game countless times. I use my past-life knowledge to win the game, betting 100 kudos that I have a better card.

Sorry, make that 200. Sucker.

I now have a vast wealth of kudos, most of which I gained from cheating at cards by consulting my past lives. With this ill-gotten fortune, I buy the ultimate weapon in the game, which is surprisingly not the Drone Rifle, an actual gun. It is a "vintage focus device," a fidget spinner. Because Sol is very autistic indeed, a fidget spinner allows her to reach her full potential by letting her stim. Accessibility tools being a luxury you have to buy - in fact, the most expensive luxury in the game - paints a very bleak picture of the colony's ability to handle disability.

That would be just a joke, but Nougat's learning disability, Tangent's drug abuse and burnout, Dys' (potentially literal) alienation and Tammy's phobia of nearly everything all go pretty much neglected unless you step in. It's interesting how much Vertumna recreates the same oppressive structures that it is an attempt to flee from.

Fortunately, we can get rid of ableism through autistic world domination, to which we are one step closer.
