06x16//Dirty Laundy - weekly recap

oopsie woopsie, we’re late to the game again, so let’s make this a quick-ish affair

.- Maya and Vic friendship! This is not a drill! Gosh, I’ve missed this, and it’s about time they brought back their friendship. And the lost remote situation was pretty darn funny as well

- Travis patting down Jack(’s butt) - completely irrelevant to the storyline or this recap, but it needed to be said

- Kate being cringe and still slightly unlikeable, but at least we got a fun team moment out of that (and we got Vic being annoyed at her, which was great, too)

- Andy telling Sullivan what a jerk he is being and calling him out on what he is doing and realizing what he did to her and yeah, thank you, finally, but more about that here because that deserved an in depth post of its own

- don’t put your feet up while driving in a car, kids, because your insides will end up looking like this, and you don’t want that, trust me

- Andy talking to Ross. Andy and Ross talking to each other. My goodness, I cannot believe we really got this gem. We need women supporting women and I really hope we can keep this going. And I loved Ross being real about how fucking hard it is to be a woman in her position and to constantly be attacked and judged for every little “mistake” she makes. And Ross being soft for Andy in the end, that was great too

- They remembered Andy’s trauma - also finally!

- Maya apologizing to Ross. It is such a small but powerful moment, and I don’t think it took anything more than that for now, because Maya’s actions towards Ross have already showed that she wants to be on her side, but the apology was right nonetheless

- Maya’s monologue was on point, as usual and the visual with the rain was perfect

- Ross trying to comfort the mum. But more importantly: The scene with the backpack. So simple, so powerful. Loved that cinematic/storytelling decision

- The montage was on point as well, because they finally found an appropriate way to balance life/death

- Sullivan. Man, I really don’t want to give that man more than one line. But that man seriously cannot expect to be captain, if he lashes out like a toddler while they’re still on the job, just because some random dudes made their jokes about Ross (which was inappropriate, but still). The fact that it took like three people to hold him back is not a good sign, at all.

- Travis and Jack hug - slightly awkward, but I’m here for that level of awkwardness

- Andy’s “Who are you?” with the side-eye at Beckett, yeah that was great

- look, I might hate Sullivan and Ross together, but her crying at the end still broke my heart. She does not deserve to feel this heartbreak over such an awful person

- there’s already enough speculations about Beckett out there. I think it’s gonna be a close call, but Vic is probably gonna talk to him or find him last minute or something. Also, Theo was not wrong about the “not everything is a psych test”. Sure, he might be wrong about his judgment of the situation, but it’s not uncommon for psych students to read too much into a situation. But I digress. Let’s see how this plays out tonight
