A very simple explanation of why SV, The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System, doesn't contain Noncon or any of that shit

WARNING: It's full of SPOILERS, so CAUTION!

I decided to come and waste my time making this thread/post because I've seen a lot of discussions about it. I'm even doing it in English and not in my official language for the simple reason that I've seen more foreigners talking about it than Brazilians.

Well, let's start by making something clear. SV is a BIG, HUGE, SCANDALOUS satire on novels with harem in which EVERYTHING can be solved with SEX.

Did we get that point? Good.

Moving on.

SV, for having this as a central point, often brings criticism and scenes that prove it. I could easily take several, but at the moment I only have the novel in Portuguese with me, and I'm not going to go after the English version just for a thread/post. So you can go and get it for me if you think I'm talking shit. We'll discuss it if necessary.

Back to the point... These parts are scattered throughout the reading and are easily found if you just pay the slightest bit of attention.

Now, you might be asking yourself: "Why the fuck is this crazy woman bringing up all this talk?"

Context, my dear. Context.

Context to talk about the problem I've been seeing: the issue of noncon, lack of consent and 500 other issues.

It's been said that Shen Qingqiu says no and asks Binghe to stop at various points in the novel. And, indeed, he does.

Only he does it at moments that don't involve ANY, I REPEAT, ANY SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP! In fact, if you go back and read it again, and if I'm not remembering wrongly, in their first kiss, he pushes Binghe away and Binghe himself doesn't insist, he just complains a bit, saying that it was unfair that he couldn't do something like that even in a dream. In other words, he basically RESPECTED and didn't FORCE Shen!

Another part to comment on is that, most of the times when Shen scolds or pushes Binghe away, these are times when they are fighting like two primary school children. Their actions, words and everything else carry an incredible childishness.

That scene of them fighting in the demon realm shortly after Binghe finds out that Shen is alive is one of them. (bonus: in it we also have the narrative of Shen UNILATERALLY hitting Binghe, and at NO point does he hit back. He just threatens, trying to scare, but always without actually doing anything.)

The second kiss I honestly don't remember very well when it happened, but I do know that Shen didn't say no or even push Binghe away completely. I vaguely remember him scolding a little, but not explicitly denying it. Which, in my opinion, shows that he himself was perhaps confused by this possible new dynamic in their relationship and was a little afraid of how such uncertain feelings could end up affecting them both.

Now let's move on to the central point: Maigu Mountain.

My novelistic trauma and also SV's most suffocating chapters, where you see just how human, broken and entirely unstable Binghe is. Both thanks to his own mind and Xin Mo's corruption.

The whole Maigu Mountain scene is made to be uncomfortable. It's not supposed to be something nice, something memorable or even enjoyable, whether for Luo Binghe, Shen Qingqiu or anyone reading.

This scene is the pinnacle of satire and criticism, making it clear how unrealistic it is to expect sex to magically solve all problems. But the important thing here is the fact that Shen Qingqiu KNEW what was going to happen and was WILLING to go through it. Only because he BELIEVED it would work and also because the system pushed the whole situation in that direction.

And please don't even bring Luo Binghe into this discussion. He is one of the biggest victims in this scene. He has NO conscience whatsoever and is completely screwed up and lost in Xin Mo's corruption, even going so far as to ask Shen why he didn't kill him, drive him away or something. In fact, he was completely willing to die, both because of this and because he thought Shen would sacrifice himself for him again.

Apart from that, we also have an extra where the author brings back The Resentments of Spring Mountain and the fanfiction made by the three sisters, making BingQiu read it and bringing us a scene where Luo Binghe himself and Shen Qingqiu themselves read it and say that it's TOTALLY OOC and impossible for Luo Binghe to force Shen Qingqiu to have sex with him. Luo Binghe even makes it clear that he would walk away or kill himself at any sign of discomfort or denial that Shen Qingqiu showed, in whatever form it came.

So, in short... NO NONCON IN SV, RAPE OR ANY OF THAT SHIT! LUO BINGHE IS A CHUNNY WITH TRAUMA AND A BEAUTIFUL CRYING LADY! NOTHING BUT THAT!

I have tons of ideas that I'd like to draw for different novels but I don't have time for all of them 'orz

Happy late birthday @residentanchor! We had talked about this being adorable a while back, but I finally wrote it!

This is that blooper from SvS, but I ran with it being in the whole “Sides are the ones filming” universe that @randomslasher came up with!

Warnings: Deceit is ever so briefly mentioned, kissing, I think that’s it?

Pairing: Logicality

“Do you like meeee?”

Patton’s words rang out through Logan’s mind. They’d been working on the new video, so of course they were going to be goofing off a little. But that...that had been a little more than goofing off. Logan had seen the hope in Patton’s eyes.

He’d seen how it vanished as he laughed it off, desperately trying to hide his blush.

The glare Virgil had shot him had burned into the side of his skull.

What was he meant to do? Stop production so he could confess everything to Patton right then and there? They had a video to finish.

So, he’d simply made it into what could be considered a blooper.

The heartbreak had been evident in Patton’s eyes for a mere two seconds before he plastered on his usual fake smile and they continued.

Since he was “sitting out” this video so that Deceit could “get his point across,'' Logan had plenty of time to think about how he was going to make it up to Patton. He couldn’t let his - he couldn’t let Pat think that Logan had no feelings for him at all.

Not to mention that Virgil might actually kill him if he didn’t fix this.

A knock sounded on his door, making Logan sigh. “Come in.”

He heard the door open and heard someone clear their throat.

“Look, Virgil, I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t have played Patton’s feelings off as a joke. But I couldn’t just...stop the video so that I could tell him how I really feel.”

“How do you really feel?”

Swiveling in his chair, Logan’s eyes flew wide as he saw not Virgil, but Patton standing in his doorway. However, Patton was wearing Virgil’s usual anxious look.

Blood rushed to Logan’s cheeks. “I - um…I admire you. You deal with what I can only assume to be the hardest job here. Thomas is fueled by his emotions and morality. Everything he does involves you. I mean, it also involves me, but I’d be worried if it didn’t.”

Patton let out a giggle, the anxiety in his eyes slowly decreasing.

“I don’t know how you do it. I’ve been dealing with my emotions for you and it’s so complicated. My heart flutters when you enter the room. I find myself unable to stop myself from smiling when you’re happy. And I don’t like not being around you.”

Patton bit his lip, stepping completely into the room. The door swung shut behind him, but neither of them paid any attention.

“Lo.” Pulling Logan out of his chair, Patton laced their fingers together. “It sounds like you’re in love.”

“I am aware.” Logan’s eyes danced over Patton’s freckles. They were much more prominent at this proximity. “Are you?”

Patton nodded. “Yeah. I am.”

The gap between them started to close, both of them moving in unison.

“May I -”

“Yes.”

Their lips met and it was warm and soft and everything they’d each dreamed of. When they pulled back, they didn’t move far, resting their foreheads together.

A grin split Patton’s face. “So you do like me.”

Leaning back in, Logan laughed. “Very much so.”

Bebe’s first job!

Now that I've graduated, and gotten my degree, I've decided it was time to keep a journal. After all, who knows, someday I may become famous and want to do one of those "tell-all" books. So, jotting down stuff now, could pay off later. Or not. Anyway, when I got back to the dorm, I decided to check my email to see if I'd gotten any nibbles from all those resumes I sent out. I took that class the college offers on "Writing a Resume to Get the Perfect Job," so I'm hoping someone out there offers me something.                                           And...yes....I've gotten an offer! How cool is that! And in a town called Riverview. Can't say I've ever heard of it, but the editor says a good friend from Bridgeport sent her a copy of my resume, and she was impressed. Wow! So, obviously this can't be a rickey-tick, hole-in-the-wall like Sunset Valley. Will have to thank simgoddess samkat tonight for this. Wow!

So it was late when I got into town, and, well.... It isn't Bridgeport. It's not even as big as SV. All the businesses were closed by the time I got here. Even the local diner. Which sucked. But at least the owner of the house I rented online, left me the key under the front doormat, and some food in the fridge. So I guess I won't starve.

But maaaan! This sure doesn't look like the pictures I saw online. "Newly decorated? Luxurious furnishings?" So NOT! But hey! I've got a job! And my own house! So I can't complain. Well, I could. Not that anyone would listen. And besides, being out on my own, is just soooo awesome!

Okay, so today is my first day of work, as a professional blogger. Me! A real writer! Yeah, I know I've written some books, but this is a steady job where they actually pay me just to show up! And, they've given me my own column. Me! Bebe Hart! A Professional Blogger! Oh! And I even have a new car! The guy at the used car lot said it's "barely broken in. The perfect car for a first time car owner." And okay, maybe it does honk its horn when you step on the brake, and maybe it rattles a bit when you go around turns, and sputters a tad when you go up hills, but I Have A Car!!!!! With tires and everything! How cool is that!

Just got home from work. Well, the town bistro, actually. My editor sent me there to write a review on the new chef they hired. Some dude named Don Lothario. So, I have to get these ideas written down while they're fresh. Because this is like my very first article. Ever. And I don't want to screw it up.

Well, I turned in the article and even though the restaurant isn't real happy with me, the local journalism group awarded me their Simitzer Prize for excellence in reporting. And my boss promoted me to Anonymous Source Handler! Of course, she did tell me, that I have to meet with our legal department tomorrow, to discuss a possible lawsuit. But whatever! I got a raise! And another assignment, here at the stadium.                                                                  When the sports editor asked me what I knew about sports, I couldn't say, "Not a damn thing." I mean, I need the work. So I told him, "They don't call me Sports Authority because I'm....." But he didn't let me finish, which was good. Because I had nothing. So, anyway, I'm here to watch the game and report on it. So, I'm thinking I should find me some guys with that facepaint stuff, and sit next to them. ‘Cause I sure as heck don't know what's going on.

Well, after the game, I stopped by the local diner. Figured since I was hungry, I could eat and write another food review. Sort of a "kill two birds with one stone" sort of thing. I had originally planned on trying the bistro again, but they banned me. Had their bouncer throw me out. So, the diner it was. Anyway, on the way out, I ran into a wackadoodle who went totally off on me. I have no idea what his problem was, but he was screaming and acting like a crazy man. Something about, "Do you know what it's like to get fired because of some dumb bimbo?" "Well, nooooo," I told him. "But maybe you should pick a better girlfriend." Geesh! What drama!

Turned in my two reviews earlier, then came back home. The whole office got the day off for Spooky Day. Not that this town actually has a festival lot, like SV had, where sims can actually go and celebrate. So I don't know what the big deal is. But I get the day off with pay, so I can't complain. Gives me time to rake up all these leaves. And pack my bags. Seems like, even though I got that award, the town businesses don't like me too much. I've been banned from the bistro, the town theater, the stadium and the diner. And they're threatening to pull their ads from the paper unless the paper makes some changes. So, my boss thinks it's time I moved on in my career. Tomorrow will be my last day at the Riverview Gazette. Then who knows where I'll land?

Right after I took that picture of her raking the leaves - which she did all on her own, with no prompt from me! - it started to rain. And, of course, she got hit by lightning, then started playing splashy-splash in the rain. Apple doesn't fall far from the familial tree. And here I thought she was normal. Anyway, at the end of the week, Bebe had advanced to level 6 of her career - which makes her an Investigative Reporter.                                                    She really was awarded that prize after submitting her first article. (Had never heard of it before!) She got $500 but no statue, or plaque. Which was sad. But that gave her, her first promotion. She also got another $500 from the bistro. While there to review it, the game popped up that "Your food sucks. Do you want to eat it and die, or return it to the kitchen?" She returned it and got a syrupy note about being the best customer ever - plus the cash. Well, after being served crummy food, I couldn't see her writing a glowing article. So hence the warning, the next day at work, that the paper's legal department was looking at a lawsuit. And she really did get banned from all of those venues. Had never had that happen before when I tried the journalism career, so that was interesting. At first I thought it was another glitch, but then the pop-up said, "Because of your nasty review, you are no longer welcome here." Pretty cool. And the bit about Don Lothario actually happened. I sent her to the diner after the game - since she was no longer welcomed at the bistro - and as she was coming out, he attacked her. Didn't catch the actual fight - I was so thrown off guard by his attack, since she's such a nice little sim. And no, he wasn't the bistro chef, so I don't know what his problem was. I don't even remember the two of them having met, before the attack. But since he did it, I decided to make it a part of the story. Anyway, I am going to delete funds from her, because it is ridiculous how much money she's been making. By the end of her 2nd day of work, she had gone from 778 simoleons in total family funds to almost 4000. For 4 frammin' hours of work! That's just nuts. Especially since I'm playing her like she's a struggling new grad. So, I figure she has outstanding student loans that she's still paying off. Also, it's crazy how easy this LTW is to achieve - especially after having gone to Uni. So I may make her screw up somewhere along the line, just to make this more interesting. Maybe when she gets to Bridgeport.

Mar. 24, 2020 – Regardless of the hockey team one played, worked, or rooted for in 2019-20, it will be a season they’ll never forget. An abrupt end to the ECHL season cut down the Maine Mariners schedule to 62 games and took away what looked to be the first postseason appearance in franchise history. While we’ll never know how the 2019-20 season would have turned out in the end, the second season of Mariners hockey brought many exciting moments to the Cross Insurance Arena and the great hockey fans of Maine. Here are some significant moments that marked the shortened, but a memory-filled season that was. October 11th, 2019 vs. ADK: The Mariners open the season at home against the Adirondack Thunder, just as they did in their inaugural campaign. Unfortunately, history repeats itself and the Mariners suffered a 5-2 loss. Taylor Cammarata scores both Maine goals, attempting to bring them back from a 3-0 deficit late. October 19th, 2019 @ REA: The Mariners get their first win of the season, spoiling the Reading Royals home opener. Tom McCollum(who would ironically become a Royal later in the season), makes 44 saves, and the Mariners put up 5 goals in a 5-3 victory. This would turn out to be their lone win in Reading for the season. November 9th, 2019 vs. ADK: In front of the largest crowd of the season (4,588) on Military Appreciation Night, Jake Elmer nets the first of four Mariners hat tricks, leading the Mariners to a 5-1 win over Adirondack. November 11th, 2019 vs. REA: With Gritty in the building, the Mariners defeat the Reading Royals, 4-3 in overtime. Alex Kile scores the game-winning goal just 23 seconds into the extra period, his first goal of the season. Kile would prove to be a clutch OT player for the Mariners all season long. November 15th, 2019 vs. BRM: The Mariners honor NHL refereeing great, Maine Sports Hall of Fame inductee, and South Portland resident Wes McCauley, as they defeat the Brampton Beast, 6-3 despite letting a 3-0 lead slip away quickly late in the 2nd period. The win is the Mariners’ fourth in a row. November 26th, 2019 vs. WOR: After losing two of three in Norfolk, the Mariners return home before Thanksgiving to win a wild one in overtime, 5-4 in their first home meeting of the season with the Worcester Railers. Ryan Gropp scores two goals while Kile gets his second overtime winner in the span of 15 days. This turns out to be the final game for Railers head coach Jamie Russell, who is relieved of his duties the following day. December 6th, 2019 @ ADK: Jake Elmer registers his second hat trick against Adirondack in less than a month, capping it with the overtime winner to rescue the Mariners, who had blown a 4-1 lead. It was only Maine’s second-ever win at the Cool Insuring Arena but would turn out to be the start of a remarkable Mariners run in Glens Falls. December 7th, 2019 vs. ADK: Elmer continues his dominance of the Thunder, scoring the Teddy Bear Toss goal early, and adding his fifth goal of the weekend to later tie the game at 4 in the third period. Ty Ronning’s shorthanded goal is the game-winner and Elmer goes on to win ECHL Player of the Week honors. December 10th, 2019 vs. ADK: Francois Brassard makes his season debut and gets the win as Dillan Fox tips home a Brandon Crawley pass in the final minute of overtime to give the Mariners a 3-2 win and a three-game sweep of Adirondack. December 21st, 2019 @ ADK: The Mariners finish off back-to-back pre-Christmas 4-3 shootout wins in Adirondack when Taylor Cammarata scores in the fifth round to end it. Each game featured the Thunder tying it up late, but the Mariners getting the shootout bonus point. Maine goes into holiday break in sole possession of the fourth and final playoff spot in the North Division and a season-high four games above .500. January 3rd, 2020 vs. JAX: The Mariners and the Jacksonville IceMen meet for the first time ever, and Maine rallies from down 3-2 late in the 2nd to get a 5-3 win. Terrence Wallin’s first career hat trick leads the way as he scores one in each period, including the game-winner in the third. January 14th, 2020 vs. WOR: The Mariners snapped a five-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Worcester at home. Rookie forward Mikael Robidoux enters the scene, stirring up physical play and drawing the Railers into penalties, ultimately allowing the Mariners to score back-to-back power play goals late in the 3rd to flip the score in their favor. January 24th, 2020 vs. WOR: Returning from the All-Star break after playing eight games in ten days, the Mariners explode for a franchise-best eight goals – three by Ty Ronning. They score three goals in a 58-second span in the 2nd period to pull away. Adam Huska makes his Mariners debut in between the pipes and makes 43 saves. January 29th, 2020 @ ADK: The Mariners win yet again in Glens Falls 3-0, as Connor LaCouvee picks up his third shutout in a span of 10 starts and his second in a row. Their win two nights later makes it six consecutive road victories over Adirondack. The streak goes to seven with another win in mid-February. February 1st, 2020 vs. ADK: In a partnership with Agren and Make-A-Wish Maine, the Mariners wear jerseys designed by 11-year-old “Wish Kid” Ellie LaBree, and take down the Thunder, 3-2 in OT. Michael McNicholas scores the golden goal, which improves the franchise’s all-time “extra time” record to 20-3-2 (W-OTL-SOL). February 7th, 2020 vs. WOR: LaCouvee makes 45 stops to lead the Mariners to a season-high five wins in a row, squeezing out a 2-1 victory over Worcester. The streak ends the following night, with a 3-2 OT loss to Brampton, but the point streak gets to six. February 11th, 2020 vs. BRM: The Mariners salvage the last of a three-game home set with the Brampton Beast when Alex Kile gets his third OT winner of the season with less than a minute remaining. This would turn out to be the final win on home ice for the Mariners in 2019-20. February 14th, 2020 @ NFL: The Mariners are on the wrong side of some ECHL history when the Newfoundland Growlers win their 19th consecutive home game, 5-1. The Mariners fall to 0-5-0-0 all-time at Mile One Centre, but the best is yet to come. February 15th, 2020 @ NFL: Morgan Adams-Moisan scores a late power play goal to break a 1-1 tie and end the Growlers’ streak before it can reach 20. Francois Brassard gets his first of consecutive wins in between the pipes as the Mariners go on to take three in a row in St. John’s, becoming the first team to ever do so against the Growlers. February 26th, 2020 @ REA: The Royals crush the Mariners, 8-0, the largest margin of defeat in franchise history. The Mariners play the game with just four defensemen due to injuries and the last moment illness to captain Zach Tolkinen. February 28th, 2020 @ WHE: The franchise’s first trip to Wheeling marks a homecoming for Mariners Head Coach Riley Armstrong, who was an assistant for the Nailers from 2016-18. Terrence Wallin scores a pair – including the beneficiary of a Nailers' “own goal,” and Greg Chase scores the game-winner in the 3rd. This becomes Maine’s final victory of the season. March 10th, 2020 vs. NOR: The fateful final game of the season, unbeknownst to anyone. The Mariners battled back from a pair of one-goal deficits but Norfolk’s J.C. Campagna scores on a breakaway with 2:05 left to hand the Mariners a 3-2 loss. The final goal of the Mariners’ season belongs to Cumberland native, Ted Hart. The Mariners' final record will read 32-26-3-1. They went 16-15-2-0 on home ice and 16-11-1-1 on the road (they had only 15 road wins in all of 2018-19). When the season halted, the Mariners were 11 points ahead of Adirondack for the fourth and final playoff spot in the North Division, and three points behind Brampton for third place. They had seven games remaining with Worcester, two with Adirondack, and one with Reading. Surprise! Sort of. Not really. Pinterest has joined a growing list of tech unicorns planning to go public in 2019. The visual search engine filed confidentially to go public on Thursday. Reports indicate the business will float at a $12 billion valuation by June. Pinterest’s key backers — which will make lots of money when it goes public — include Bessemer Venture Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, FirstMark Capital, Fidelity and SV Angel.

Lyft’s IPO is imminent 

Ride-hailing company Lyft plans to go public on the Nasdaq in March, likely beating rival Uber to the milestone. Lyft’s S-1 will be made public as soon as next week; its roadshow will begin the week of March 18. The nuts and bolts: JPMorgan Chase has been hired to lead the offering; Lyft was last valued at more than $15 billion, while competitor Uber is valued north of $100 billion.

Deal of the week: DoorDash

Despite scrutiny for subsidizing its drivers’ wages with customer tips, venture capitalists plowed another $400 million into food delivery platform DoorDash at a whopping $7.1 billion valuation, up considerably from a previous valuation of $3.75 billion. The round, led by Temasek and Dragoneer Investment Group, with participation from previous investors SoftBank Vision Fund, DST Global, Coatue Management, GIC, Sequoia Capital and Y Combinator, will help DoorDash compete with Uber Eats. The company is currently seeing 325 percent growth, year-over-year.

Here are some more details on those big Vision Fund Deals: Clutter, an LA-based on-demand storage startup, closed a $200 million SoftBank-led round this week at a valuation between $400 million and $500 million, according to TechCrunch’s Ingrid Lunden’s reporting. Meanwhile, Flexport, a five-year-old, San Francisco-based full-service air and ocean freight forwarder, raised $1 billion in fresh funding led by the SoftBank Vision Fund at a $3.2 billion valuation. Earlier backers of the company, including Founders Fund, DST Global, Cherubic Ventures, Susa Ventures and SF Express all participated in the round.

According to Indian media reports, Uber is in the final stages of selling its Indian food delivery business to local player Swiggy, a food delivery service that recently raised $1 billion in venture capital funding. Uber Eats plans to sell its Indian food delivery unit in exchange for a 10 percent share of Swiggy’s business. Swiggy was most recently said to be valued at $3.3 billion following that billion-dollar round, which was led by Naspers and included new backers Tencent and Uber investor Coatue.

New unicorn

Lalamove, a Hong Kong-based on-demand logistics startup, is the latest venture-backed business to enter the unicorn club with the close of a $300 million Series D round this week. The latest round is split into two, with Hillhouse Capital leading the “D1” tranche and Sequoia China heading up the “D2” portion. New backers Eastern Bell Venture Capital and PV Capital and returning investors ShunWei Capital, Xiang He Capital and MindWorks Ventures also participated.

Founders Fund gets Keith Rabois

Longtime investor Keith Rabois is joining Founders Fund as a general partner. Here’s more from TechCrunch’s Connie Loizos: “The move is wholly unsurprising in ways, though the timing seems to suggest that another big fund from Founders Fund is around the corner, as the firm is also bringing aboard a new principal at the same time — Delian Asparouhov — and firms tend to bulk up as they’re meeting with investors. It’s also kind of time, as these things go. Founders Fund closed its last flagship fund with $1.3 billion in 2016.”

Car Insurance Claim Help? On the 4/7/2011 I was at a set of traffic lights that was (RED) of my way to the shops. As the lights went green I begin to move off slowly as I did another car came from the left of me and tried to turn right as he speed up he crashed into the drivers side of the car. He clearly jumped a red light (Clearly Seen on CCTV). I was in total shock at the time! After he crashed into my car he went to drive off by reversing, I jumped out of my car to stood in his was so he could not drive off the witness behind me called the police while I was stopping his from driving off he started to drive forwards trying to me me out the way. After the driver spoke to the police on the phone, he then gave me his Name, Phone number and Insurance information. The next day I called my insurance company they was vary helpful and I believe the clam would be settled in my favor as I had CCTV of the crash as I had a camera inside of my car and a witness that was behind my car at the time of the crash. After nearly 4Months I have now revived a letter stating that the claim has been closed on a Without Prejudice Basis. When I contacted Aviva to see what the 3rd party has not accepted full liability they said it was dealt with like this as the 3rd party who crashed into me was not responding to and calls or letters that have send him. Aviva did not asked to see the CCTV of the crash and did not take into account the witness statement. WHAT CAN I DOOO??""

I want to get life insurance, but I am not sure whhich type of insurance I should get. I have done lots of research and majority of the research tells me to get term life insurance, but I am still confused to why. Here is a little about me: 30 years old, married, and have a baby. Non-smoker, and overall healthy, minus some arthritis. My first thought is to get whole life insurance because it definitely covers my family if I pass away when I am a lot older. However, I then hear that whole life is not a great investment - too expensive and lot of cost/fees involved, you don't really know how much of your premiums are going into your insurance and how much is going into the savings where the company invest the money. After hearing that, I think well term isn't so bad then. I get a lower premium for the same amount of life insurance. But then, I know term insurance only last a limited time. I see 30 years usually being the longest term life insurance. Well 30 years from now (considering nothing happens to me in the next 30 years), I will only be 60. That is still pretty young and then I wil have to renew my term insurance, but at 60, my premium will be a lot more than it would be right now. SO as you can see, I am at a lost and have no clue what to do. I would like some opinions, feedback, suggestions, etc, that would be much appreciated. I recently had a car insurance policy cancelled due to not sending off my documentation (driving licence & counterpart) in time. So, I started to apply for a new quote, and it asked if I'd ever had a policy cancelled, I ticked yes, and in comparison to begin with the quote doubled. This was because of the cancelled policy. I assume they do this because people have policies cancelled due to non payments, however, obviously mine wasn't. Is there any way I can get around this because it wasnt actually cancelled because I didn't pay...?? Please help, as an 18 year old girl car insurance is expensive enough! Thanks""

The waiting game

This anxiety-driven waiting game for the next part of application process is killing me. One minute I’m this sort of confident applicant trying to tell myself that I haven’t receive any notice yet because they are sending out rejection emails first. But then I began to think and ask myself “W-wait. Were you able to submit your application in the first place?” LOL.

What a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Should I notify my boss to be ready with a reference letter before even receiving an email? Or am I setting myself for a different kind of heartbreak. Just thinking about this application now just made me realize how important this is to me. I can’t remember the last time I feel this. I didn’t feel this even if I tried applying for law schools before. Maybe it’s the small hope and undying faith I have for this scholarship. I was able to re-read the essays I submitted after almost 2 months since I wrote those essays. I was surprised with what I wrote, to be perfectly honest. Although there are some SV-agreement slips, the words I was able to put together moved me. It reminded me of the bigger purpose I want to fulfill in this world. It reminded of why I’m here, why I do what I do, and why I believe in the power of digital. I hope I was able to also touch the scholarship secretaries and convey my sincerity in those 500-word essays.

Maybe I’ll wait til Valentines day. I believe it will be worth it.
