Your post about not like sub Buck but not knowing why is so relatable bc like I DO like it (im a switch buddie fan always) but there's just so much of it that sometimes I'm like is this the only interpretation of his character?? Even though its well written and enjoyable and in character. Anyway I know its a personal issue but if it helps i actually read some dom Buck beforehand as like a palate cleanser lol makes it more fun to switch it up
Honestly, a lot of the recent bi discovery subby Buck fics have been a lot more tolerable to my weird weird brain because they actually do show the process of Buck and his partner figuring out that those are things he likes, rather than it just being imposed on him the moment the fic reaches sexy time mode. IDK why it's just Buck I need to read that buildup with for, when I'm more than happy to read anyone else being subby even if it's a little ooc.
The palate cleanser idea is a great one for sure! (It kills me a little that even in a lot of dom Buck stories there just has to be a few lines about how Buck Definitely Still Likes It The Other Way Around, when they almost never bother doing that if Eddie is the dom, but, y'know, personal issue.)

I love that all of the dungeon meshi crew are complicated and have difficult to love components.#But Izutsumi is a particular kind of hard to love. I foresee a lot of people being turned off by her abrasiveness and lack of teamwork.#She is very self-centered and openly goes against what the party agrees on.#She's a picky eater in a story that is 50% about eating good and healthy food!#It is in part about her growth but admittedly even *then* she remains rather true to her self-centeredness.#Even though she isn't as nice or funny or compassionate as the others...Izutsumi is still someone worth loving.#Even the more difficult people are someone worth loving.#And those people in turn are people who have something and someone they love.#She may be a girlcat but she is the most human of them all.#I hope that if you are an anime only watcher and are feeling put off by her at the moment; you'll give her a chance.#By the way: *yes* I worked very hard to draw that skateboard pose. It was worth it.#EDIT: HAPPY 500th POST OF POORLY-DRAW-MDZS!!! What a comic to commemorate the milestone with!

lived my whole life in guilt bc i thought i was responsible for people's feelings. newly realizing that other people are responsible for their feelings and reactions, even if they make it seem like i'm the problem. a lot of the time it really has to do w them and their own emotional regulation. i can't keep thinking i'm not allowed to have space bc of other people's insecurities. like i literally refuse to dim myself. other people are responsible for their feelings just as i'm responsible for mine.
#like i'm always gonna operate from a place of kindness but i've had to deal w so many people who're bad at communication/confrontation#which led me to think i'm the problem#that i deserve to be given the silent treatment or dismissed disregarded belittled etc#that's j not true. i'm far from perfect but i think so few people deserve that kind of reaction. and my biggest revelation is i do not#even if people want to make me think i do / that their reaction is justified / that i'm a burden etc#my biggest problem is i humor people like this for too long bc it's been normalized behavior to me#does this make any sense to anyone. it's the end of the year and i'm reflecting on so many things#p

Here is a weirder mashup that I thought could work. Praying mantis blue heron. When I think of animals similar to a praying mantis I can only think of the stalking and snagging approach of water birds. Maybe in a world with huge praying mantises they can also fill that niche.

I like the look and the feel of this method a lot.#In case anyone out there was wondering what the original doodle the Cowboy Wizard Jousting comic was - it was this!#I had indended it to stay a sketchbook doodle but I kept thinking about it - and figured 'why not also use it to do an art experiment?'#The funny thing about using existing characters for this is that this isn't even that far off from what they actually are.#The original pitch for the setting of FFS was 'Cowboy Exorcists'. Which sort of just makes them Cowboy Wizards in a way.#Design wise all I really did here was give them sillier hats.#Fitch isn't boy enough for the boy to be more than a carry over from 'cowboy'#But our Nameless Nobody? Yeah. They earned that Coward Badge good and true.#I have a few more doodles from this (AU? I guess?) That I may post if I'm low energy this week.#I missed drawing these little fellas.
