hot take but Timebomb has more in common with Catradora than Caitvi does: childhood friends to enemies to lovers(?) where ones the right hand to the guy making everyone's lives worse (Catra&Hordak/Jinx&Silco) the other is the rebellion (Ekko and the Firelights/Adora and the Princess Alliance), they actively almost murder each other quite a few times on the battlefield, at one point there's an alternate dimension where everything is "almost perfect", one becomes suicidal after losing everything/one and they have to fight a robotic overlord that mind controls everyone to not have free will, oh and one gets a dramatic haircut

like you saw Caitlyn in that "Commander Kiramman" role and just Ran with it despite when putting further thought into it, she and Catra have basically Nothing in common

as much as i hate horde prime i gotta admire how he showed up and humbled the fuck out of everyone. like SO many characters had an Oh Fuck moment where they realised there was so much more to everything than whatever feelings they had about the war on etheria. like he's the fucked up reason why catra and adora managed to rekindle their bond. and why glimmer was able to see she was wrong and apologise to the best friend squad. and the catalyst for glimmer and catra's friendship. and why hordak was able to realise he cared more about the genuine love he had from one person on etheria than anything else he'd ever achieved there. in conclusion I LOVE SEASON 5 YOU CAN PRY IT FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS.

"Ah come on, you're going to spend the whole night sulking? It's not like she's going to talk to you right now."

Adora stands up, face heating up. She scoffs. "I'm not sulking! I'm just being responsible. It's not fair of me to have fun after what I did." Adora catches on to the ammo she just gave Catra a second too late.

"Oh so we're gonna have fun huh?" Catra purrs out as she positions herself behind Adora; she digs her claws gently into her arm and shoulder as she leans into her ear. "And how do you suppose we go about doing that?"

Oh gay panic, gay panic, gay panic, gay- "I- I didn't mean it like that!" Adora breathes out, the pressure of Catra's hands making her heart race.

"Uh-huh and what did you mean, princess?"

i hate it when people’s idea of a “complex character” is just a bad guy with a tragic past. or someone who is an asshole but has expressed emotions ONCE. like no babes, that’s the most base-level characterization you can give to a character.
