The Reluctant Princess

Based on The Reluctant Bride 1866 by Auguste Toulmouche✨ a friend of mine suggested this prompt, and really popped off with this concept. The saddest part sleeping beauty is when her godmother‘s take her to the castle and prepare her to be a princess. They try to reassure her but she has just been stripped of her identity and agency. She never wanted to be a princess. So I have Flora, giving her a reassuring kiss on the forehead, Fauna imagining out loud what it would be like to be a princess, and Merryweather is the only one who actually sees Briar Rose’s sorrows and inner turmoil. I also added another master copy as a tapestry, (an illustration of Maleficent by Eyvind Earle) and it hangs quite literally over Aurora and adds an extra layer of foreboding.🖤 I stayed up till four in the morning working on this.🤠😂 It took me 13 hours total to finish it.

inell, who are some of your favorite drama free 911/buddie blogs? i am easing back into this fandom after 4 years and holy shit, i don't recognize the place... so we're starting fresh and i trust you 🖤😂

Hey Nonnie! Welcome back to Buddie! 💜 I joined right before Bi-Buck happened, and I was lurking for a couple of weeks before I finally started to really get into the fandom, so I’ve seen it change in so many ways (unfortunately, a lot of negative ways with ship wars and anon hate and folks looking for reasons to be miserable/unhappy/wanky).

I try my best to keep my dash drama free, especially since I have some friends who multiship, and I want them to feel able to scroll my dash without seeing random hate. I filter liberally, and I also block when necessary. Of course, I’ve also been in fandoms longer than some folks around here have been alive, so I’m just too old for drama. I’ve got bills to pay, and fandom is my happy space! Besides, I also know that a few toxic folks don’t represent an entire fandom, so I try to be considerate. That being said, I’m not a fan of LFJ at all, and I tend to see Tommy as a character intended for specific plot reasons in the main characters’ stories.

I generally reblog from folks I follow, so I’d think any of those folks are drama free (in my opinion). I’ll give you some people off the top of my head, but I know there’ll be people I forget! There’s also recently been a lot of name changes, so I may miss someone. You’re also welcome to message me if you ever have any concerns!
