Ngghgghggg Dittyyyy!!!!!

I know that comes insanely late, but I was and still am absolutely floored that you wrote something that magnificent about my lil sketch! I genuinely don't know what to say except thank you so much for having taken my nothing little doodle and created this absolutely beautiful, charged and insanely hot 5 sentence piece of it! I'm frothing at the mouth, crawling up the walls... better perform an exorcism before I devour you and your fic whole!!!

So @finz-art posted a really beautiful piece of art over on their patreon which showcased Jonathan Crane being forcibly manhandled by Harvey Dent and I could NOT help myself from making a wee 5 sentence fic about it.

The smooth plaster of the asylum wall was cold and unyielding against his cheek as Crane found his head slammed into the hard surface and held in place by a scarred hand, the sheer force of the blow causing some small slivers of paint to flake off and fall to the thin fabric of his asylum jumpsuit. "As long as I'm breathing," Dent snarled, the words pulling free of his torn mouth with such vitriol that Crane couldn't hold back the smirk which stretched his chapped lips, "you're going to regret what you did. Every day in here is gonna be hell for you, fucker." "Mr. Dent, such displays of anger will only result in an increased dosage of- ah!" His words cut off by a sharp, pained inhale as he found his arm jammed roughly up between his shoulder blades, Crane bit down hard on the inside of his mouth as he forced himself to swallow the discomfort. "You know what the staff are like, you know they don't give a fuck about us or what we do. Better get some friends in the infirmary cause you're going to be spending a lot of time there." His wide body caging Crane hard against the wall, a high flush of furious colour stained the unscarred skin on Dent's right side as he finally found an outlet for the anger which had been slowly simmering within his chest since Crane's admission. "If you really are so furious with me, Mr. Dent," Crane bit out, irritation at his manhandling finally seeping through his forced nonchalance, "then explain to me what that hardness is that I can feel pressing against my left thigh?"

Would you mind sharing your fluorite blend of tea?

Not at all! Unfortunately, I'm not much of a tea person, buuut if I had to pick one it would be Chai Latte! For the longest time I thought it to be some type of coffee, until I was informed that it's actually milk with spiced black tea concentrate?? It originates in India, where it's known as Masala Chai, a traditional Indian tea :o. Ever since I'm kind of in love with it, even if I don't get to enioy it that often ^^

I think this might be the first time in canon that Edward's been shown wearing earrings, correct me if I'm wrong?? The slicked-back hair, sharp features, black shirt, and the question mark earrings in particular have always been a fan favorite design choice in fanarts. Genuinely makes me wonder if Dan Mora took a look at our stuff and thought, "Yeah... that goes hard. New Riddler design incoming!" That'd be so cool :"D

I think the general consensus, and one I'm rather fond of myself, is that Riddler's spirit animal is a red fox. It's just kind of the definition of him, y'know? A dapper chap, resourceful, elusive, cunning…

...And then there's Arkham Eddie, who I personally associate more with a feral raccoon than anything else, lmao! Watch out, he WILL eat your face if you don't answer his riddle!🗣🗣

Scrolling through my notes, I was NOT prepared to stumble across something of this... magnitude?? I'm completely blown away, seriously. Not only because something I did inspired you to create something that's at least a million times better than my lil sketch, but because the atmosphere is just... visceral! I'm really sorry for not being as active lately. Things have been a bit hard. For a few months now drawing has felt nearly impossible, like something is quietly draining all the joy and creativity out of it. Even small tasks feel overwhelming. Responding to messages, holding conversations, focusing, getting up, everything is exhausting...

I miss how things used to be. I miss feeling excited to create and to connect, like in previous years. I just want that version of myself back *sigh*

Hi! I read ur blog about non con fiction and I wanna thank u for being so empathetic on both sides 😭. I wanted to give you a more direct thank you instead of just replying lol. I was assaulted at the age of 7 or 8 (I repressed the memories so much that I don't remember) and have been struggling with this ever since. I'm 19 now. I have been ashamed and still ashamed about me reading this stuff for YEARS ever since I was doing it when I was 10. This conversation isn't as simple as "people that read/write this stuff is disgusting people that support rape!" most of the time its victims themselves doing this. 😭 I'm not proud of reading it. Hell, this is my first time in a DECADE finally admitted it but you hit the target with ur response. Again, thank u for understanding and doing research instead of just villainousing one side.

First and foremost, I want to say how deeply sorry I am that you had to endure something so horrific at an age when your biggest worries should've been homework and which cartoons to watch after school. I can't even begin to imagine how overwhelming and exhausting it must have been for someone so young to carry a burden that even most adults struggle to cope with. That being said, I am really, really touched you felt safe enough to reach out. You didn't have to do that, and I'm infinitely proud of you for sharing something that has been weighing on you / bothering you for years.

What you said resonates a lot. So many of us carry around that same shame like a secret second skin, like we're somehow broken or monstrous for the way our brains try to cope. I promise you, you are not alone. Not even a little. That 10 year old you was not doing anything shameful, they were surviving the only way they knew how, with whatever scraps of control they could find. And that deserves compassion, not judgment.

It's an unfortunate reality that often the loudest takes are the ones that throw empathy straight out the window... But I found that what's actually helpful is understanding, taking the time to ask 'why'. Why do people turn to this kind of content? What need is being met that they might not even fully understand themselves?

Judgment might feel powerful in the moment, but it's not productive. It doesn't start conversations; it shuts them down. And it doesn't just hurt the person being judged, it stunts the one doing the judging too. Because the second we stop trying to understand each other we stop growing, we lose compassion. And we become incapable of seeing the complex, messy, human reasons people do what they do until all that's left is unproductive, crippling, righteous anger on all corners.

So thank you so much for reading through something hard and still choosing empathy, and for sharing your own experience so very bravely. You are not disgusting. You are not wrong. You are not alone. I can't emphasize that enough. You read these things to cope and as long as it truly helps, that's perfectly fine 🫂🫂🫂❤️‍🩹

I look at him and am just like... that's him, that's the quintessence of my Ed. Or at least what I want it to be! Gods know I rarely capture it myself.
