summary: love me a nerdy man that’s got a lil spice to him. plus a lil xmas lore!
notes: HI BEAUTIFULS! merry xmas to those who celebrate. it’s been a while fr, my bad dawgs uni work has been ploughing my ass so violently im reconsidering if a degree is even for me. but as a masochistic bottom, i had to channel my energy elsewhere; thus, this fic is just me showing the variety of my tastes as the true indecisive femboy that i am. show me a cute guy and i will plan my whole life with him. i need to get a grip.
originally, i canonically wrote this character with ginger hair (y’all know i fold for redheads), but the more i kept writing, the clearer it became to me that dark brown hair/black aligned with my OWN understanding of him. it’s all fiction anyways so feel free to adapt body types as you see fit. enjoy my lovelies 🎀
album rec: flo - access all areas. these girlies have my heart. been following them since about 2022 and they are genuinely my fave artists, cannot wait for flo world domination.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you guys had mutual acquaintances for a couple years, but it wasn’t until the two of you got to university that your friendship really blossomed. the engineering student didn’t have the best luck when it came to relationships; in fact, people would only toy with his emotions when they wanted something from him, so he learnt to put up a wall of cynicism.
these barriers he had fortified for his own protection made him quite a reserved guy. never cruel or nasty. just quiet. sure, he wasn’t a complete loner, he had a few VERY close bros who he’d let in, but it was clear that in this silence, he was safe.
he’s super handsy, whether that means pulling you on his lap, be it at parties or when he’s gaming, or placing his hands in your back pocket when y’all walk to class, he just wants to hold you. probably got something to do with the fact that he needs to make sure you’re real and not the angel he believes you to be. you love your needy bf and his craving for physical touch.
this is kinda juxtaposed by how flustered he gets by your words. the minute you whisper in his ear, he could cum in his jeans on the spot. he gets so red when you compliment him which makes him squeeze you tighter.
he wasn’t a virgin before meeting you, he’d had a few hookups but nothing sexual with someone he genuinely cared about. as a result, it made sense why he was very nervous when it came to your first time together.
to relax him, you decided to give him a blowjob to ease the tension and allow him to cum quick in the first round so he’d last longer during anal. sat back on the edge of his bed, he wore a vest and baggy joggers, awaiting your fingers to unleash his raging boner. you knelt down and flashed a comforting smile to him, which he failed to mirror perfectly.
‘we don’t have to do this if you’re not ready to. I’d never force you to do anything you didn’t want to do.’ you said concerned, stroking his abs, clear to you that he was stressing.
‘nah baby, i want this so bad. it’s just gotta be really special because you’re really special to me.’ he said gripping your chin.
‘i love you, y/n. like a lot.’
‘i know that you weirdo, i love you too, you mean so much to me.’
‘now, lemme show you how much.’ you said coyly, to which he was more than happy to oblige.
when i tell you, your man eats so well that his cum is literally like milk. the typa white, thick, pearly cum that you would swallow every drop of, because it truly is just disrespectful not to. the first time he came was a surprise for the two of you. he didn’t realise how much he loved seeing his cum all over your face, decorating your juicy, wet lips. the head you gave him was so good, he napped for 2 hours straight after you drained him. but that deffo changed him for the better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
his hobbies include boxing and gaming. he’s such a nerd he makes his own demo projects, playing with his classmates. you always chastise him for not making his hobby a lucrative endeavour - your boy’s got a talent and he doesn’t seem to know it. equally, he loves his legos and comics just as much as he enjoys coding, making you the prettiest bouquet of lego flowers for your first date. after spending some time walking, he took you back to his place and y’all spent the entire night binging his favourite marvel and dc films.
one time it was his birthday and you thought it be a good idea to make a short graphic novel of the journey of your relationship - ending steamily with you pregnant.
‘baby, i love this so much! who knew how sexy you’d look with a baby bump?’ ‘anything can happen in the multiverse’ you laugh, as he kissed your jaw.
‘I’m gonna fuck you so good tonight.’
as we have established, he’s far from experienced. he holds your hand through missionary always because it makes him feel safe. makes so many jokes during it as a way to deflect. lowkey loves being choked. you took the lead most of the time before, using him as a pole and ride the shit out of him.
but, that night he ploughed you with a sense of purpose, so deep and mercilessly that your insides were moulded into an incubator for any hypothetical foetus he would soon impregnate you with. after, he laid curled up next to you, caressing the belly that he had now filled with
‘i hate biology sometimes,’ he says breathlessly. ’you’d look so good with our lil baby growing inside your belly.’
your boyfriend is the goofiest mf ever; playing practical jokes on all his friends and fulfilling his role as your comedian. definitely one of your favourite characteristics of his.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
his sleeper build is INSANE. he might appear tall and lanky, but he is far from it. bench pressing more than 100 kilos with one arm - the brudda is basically superman. he’s what you’d get if clark kent had ginger hair, and was a huge weirdo.
though he cannot dance to save his life. he used to be very awkward and shy, but the minute them clothes are off and you two are in the sheets? stroke game is giving pornstar baby girl lemme tell you! ever since your first time, it’s like you awaken the sexual drive in him that’s been missing all his life. this, paired for his complete adoration for you makes him a lethal weapon in bed - quite literally, your man casually packs an 8 inch pussy destroyer with veins that massage and pummel your gummy walls so well.
after this moment he became the BIGGEST TEASE. slapping his dick all over your face. as you chase his dick like a good puppy, he giggles at how desperate you are. ‘sweet Jesus you feel good’. ‘holy shit’. ‘don’t act like you don’t love it.’ painting hickeys all over your neck . he loves when ppl ask you because of how flustered you get, makes him want to mark you more. he’s no longer shy to the world and he thanks you everyday for that. living to call you princess - in both a mocking and endearing tone, he loved toying with your nipples because you’re his lil doll. in cowgirl he will play with them whilst jerking you off to get you to cum all over his abs. and! he LOVES eating ass - like almost obsessively, as if he’s high of your pussy.
he smells so good. so good. you always act like a bitch in heat whenever he steps out of the shower with a towel skimpily wrapped around his adonis belt.
your bf loves playing with his cum and using his dick as a paintbrush to decorate your belly, butt, and face. ‘my masterpiece’ + ‘my muse’ he professes. somehow managing to entrance you to always stroke his dick during makeout sessions. he brings his hands to play with your hair, knowing that his dick is in extremely good hands with you - literally. always pulling you off of his dick because he is really sensitive and ur mouth is a fucking weapon, but will show you that he’s the boss and could leave you bedridden for a couple days after a good fuck.
things he would say drunk off of eggnog:
‘i would die a happy man beneath those beautiful cheeks of yours’
‘put ur hole on my North Pole.’
‘ay, you Don’t get to call me handsome unless you’re gonna HANDsome of those fat cheeks of yours to my lap.’
‘come on, I’ve been a good boy, Santa says gimme some of that pussy you know I love so much.’
‘that ass of yours, come here lemme unwrap it.’
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this man has you written into his destiny. he always dreamed of raising a son and dressing him up in the flyest outfits and with you, that desire became reality. you too truly are a match made in heaven.

(smoking that faifawine joint pls help)
finally caught up to p10L and faifawine has undoubtedly my fav story arc....by far. (i'm sure this isn't an unpopular opinion.)
screenwriter and og writer was in their BAG with them fr. not only is it rare to really see a couple communicate so much and so well and freely, it's rare that their conversations are so distinctly specific. their banter is so interesting because they catch on to the underlying meaning of the other's words. especially with the whole pretense of flirting tips, which is such a funny pretense to begin with because they've faced each other earnestly, clearly and without pretense from the start. faifa doesn't know much about (romantic) love before wine, but after wine, everything is so second nature that he doesn't even realize he understands all of it.
it's so smart to have an introvert x extrovert story where *both* learn from each other and learn to break habits that place them in repeating emotional cycles. (it's such a canon event to have an introvert see through an extrovert's exterior and vice versa.) it's so smart to have them be so seemingly distinct and unusual on the outset, to then have them essentially create a language between them that only they can speak.
from "your heart isn't broken, it's just a little chipped. i'll fix it" to "don't hang up until you see my face" to then "would it be wrong to kiss you" and "love is being so damn happy to see him rejecting someone else to be with me"???? even worse, from "the world brought two people with problems together to share them with each other" (wtf was this line like idek anymore) to "i hate that notebook. i hate counting down for our story to slowly end" and "we love each other so much, don't we?" then "i never understood why people fall in love until it happened to me." all in true romcom fashion. i don't know if i can get over the fact that faifa, utilized quite a bit for comedic relief, has quite literally the best dialogue.
like yes, some clichés are present as they will be, but they're done so well bc none of it is done for drama's sake (ironic bc of those episodes), but for the sake of the characters' own growth. it really is special to have characters like faifawine, and they're special to me not just bc you can feel through the screen that they love each other, but bc you can clearly understand why. and you can feel that they're in their own world as two people who really, really see each other.
tl;dr i love them so bad

Here I go again.
Buck asks Eddie if his son is the real reason he doesn't date. Eddie responds with, "That and, they weren't my type."
This has been a flag for everyone who reads the subtext, but let's take a moment to look at the last GIF.
Eddie says they weren't his type. Buck turns around to look at them and probably assesses what makes them, 'not' Eddie's type because the girls were all subjectively pretty. There were also a variety of types of women there.
But look closely at the GIF. Eddie said they weren't his type. While Buck is glancing back, Eddie gives Buck a quick look that really screams, "You are it. You are the type." When I noticed this from the GIF edit, I thought it might be the creator slowing it down, but nope. If I look at the episode, it is the same or nearly the same. This is early season two, and I have always thought, in the early episodes, there was no intent to pair Eddie with Buck as anything but a friend. However, this scene makes me wonder at what point Tim M or whoever was writing changed their minds about adding in a subtextual narrative.
I find it very difficult to see this scene as a heteronormative exchange. In fact, it even feels like Eddie is pushing back a little to test where Buck stands. Buck as a character who lacks self-awareness gives a mixed signal answer. (which tracks with his character at this point and matches his coming-out arc.) **edited to clarify** Buck's mixed signal response to Eddie saying they aren't my type is, "Not mine either, at least not anymore."**
A few seconds later, Buck says Eddie has a weak excuse. My lovely and wonderfully sassy Eddie says, "You live in your invisible girlfriend's house, and you're telling me about weak excuses." He essentially points at Buck's closet door, but of course, this is something that Buck couldn't see or pick up on at the time. These moments are small in the grand scheme of the show as a whole so I'm afraid it will be forgotten. It would be nice to have some sort of throwback acknowledgment that this scene hasn't been retconned.
To backtrack a little bit here, I would also like to point out something else about the early timing or the writing of these characters as potentially queer. They are outside. (True I don't understand the ins and outs of filmmaking so there may very well be a reason for this.) But the shot itself is making them walk close together. Not just close, their shoulders are literally bumping against each other, hitting and knocking at each other in a way that might appear "unintentionally" intimate--until you remember they are outside. It seems to me like there are dozens of ways to shoot this thing that don't require them to be so casually physical with each other. For the scene to be shot like this and then consider the canon conversation that took place, it feels quite intentional that the writers wanted viewers to look closely for something else.
Whenever certain people call Buddie shippers delusional, I think about this. Subtextual language aside, the scenes are shot in such a way as to plant the idea of "More." There is attraction here. There is flirting.
Someone, somewhere wanted to tell this story from the start; and I'm not mad about it. I'm 100% here for it, and I'm ready for it to go down as the most epic love story I've ever watched or read about, but I also admit that I want it to be canon, not so I can throw it in anyone's face that their ship is wrong, but so I can prove I'm not some weirdo putting two hot guys together. I'm seeing a real romance being built. I want that validation as much as I want everyone under the LGBTQ umbrella to see representation for themselves on screen.
If you want to see the scene, go to about 3:05.

Sir Pentious & Alastor: an underrated dynamic
Tumblr media
"Show yourself, Alastor! Come and face--! Oh, there you are. FACE MY WRATH!"
Sir Pentious has been in Hell for much longer than Alastor. That means he was there when the Radio Demon appeared, and he's been trying to overthrow Alastor for decades! We know what Alastor is capable of, and what he could do if he truly wanted Sir Pentious to stop. He obviously doesn't register Sir Pentious as a threat, but that doesn't mean he's not annoying (like when he interrupts his song in the pilot and destroys a wall in ep2). Yet in all those decades, Alastor always let him go with the equivalent of a slap on the wrist, considering what he's done to other sinners in his broadcasts.
And why is that? Why, he must find Sir Pentious very entertaining, of course! Even though he calls Sir Pentious forgettable (to rile him up), there's no way a narcissist like him doesn't LOVE being the main focus of Pentious' "evil plans", as pathetic as they are. Not only does he give him the attention he deserves (like Vox), he's a true "architect of evil" who constantly reinvents himself to try and get the upper hand on Alastor. To Alastor, Pentious is like a sillier, weaker, more immature version of Vox with close to ZERO survival instincts but twice the creativity. Even Vox, who made a whole diss track about Al, wouldn't dare speak to him the way Sir Pentious does if they were face to face.
Tumblr media
"SILENCE! Now cower! For when I've ssslain you, the almighty Vees will finally acknowledge me as their equal."
He does have some "oh shit" moments when he sees he crossed a line/is about to get Team Rocket-ed, but he still gets back up and attacks him again with all the unearned confidence of a man who has no idea how easy Alastor goes on him.
Just like Alastor, Pentious is attached to the aesthetics and technology of the time period he knew when he was alive, and still manages to innovate with those limitations. I think Alastor could respect that.
"You whores have no class! In war, the side remembered is the side with the most style!"
It's also funny that to Pentious, Alastor is the young, modern one. Some phrases Alastor uses are "young people slang" to him!
Pentious asking Alastor questions on his "modern" radio technology...
Alastor is one sarcastic bastard, and Sir Pent is one of the most naive characters in the show. He takes a lot of things way too literally (#autism?). That's just PERFECT for comedic misunderstandings between these two!
Before s1 was released there were quite a lot of ace!Pentious headcanons. I think we could still make a case for closeted ace-adjacent!Pentious in canon! Possibility even aroace!Pentious, if we interpret his crush on Cherri as compulsive heteronormativity (he loves her creative genius and is fascinated by her explosive contraptions; surely that means she's the one, right?)
Ace4Ace Alastor & Pentious would be a fun duo in my opinion. They could bond over their shared experience
On the topic of bonding... ("I have feelings for you" (Narrator voice: the feeling was friendship, but he had ever experienced it before)
Seriously, imagine Sir Pentious spending more and more time around Alastor because of the hotel, taking his sarcastic and mocking remarks literally and thinking they're becoming closer... And then being like. WAIT. Do I have feelings for him?? and trying to seduce him like he does with Cherri Bomb. The absolute shenanigans... Rizzlord Pentious strikes again.
Accidental fake dating scenario that only exists in Vox's head, where Vox, being the stalker that he is, spies in the two of them bonding and reaches all the wrong conclusions
Once Sir Pentious dies for the second time and ascends to Heaven, he could meet Alastor's mom 👀
EDIT: OH and How could I forget the Egg Boiz?? Egg Boiz babysitter!Alastor is canon and he definitely babysat them multiple times in the few months Sir Pentious spent at the hotel. Joint custody :3
AND let's not forget the important information that Frank the Egg Boy reported to Sir Pentious lol. The one Charlie made a deal with Alastor for. I can imagine Alastor considering killing the Egg Boiz/ Sir Pentious after learning Frank didn't keep quiet (Imagine Sir Pentious trying to engage in a conversation w/ Alastor and telling him what Frank told him as a joke akfkkd), spending a whole afternoon trailing after them and making plans, only to realise that the Egg Boiz say insane shit all the time and Sir Pentious was in fact NOT playing 4D chess by telling him he knew (and probably already forgot all about it)

Martin Blackwood never really changed.
His attitude changed, sure - he went from "everyone I care about hates me so I must deserve it" to "I am terrible but so are these people and since they've been so mean to me I should take revenge, I'm not as weak as they all think". But his way of thinking stays the same throughout the whole series.
What I dislike about Martin and what stays the same even after his "character development" is that despite claiming to be a carer, he consistently fails to consider things from other people's perspective, and his fans overlook that part. I've always felt like his attempts at caring for people (bringing them tea etc) were somewhat clumsy, and that he never actually knew what they even wanted - i think he said so himself when he was in the Lonely that giving people tea when they seemed down was easier than discussing their problems and actually finding out what's wrong. It shows when he just jumps to sacrifice himself when Peter Lukas took over the Instutute - he was so quick to sacrifice himself and give himself away and he didn't even stop to consider that it might be unnecessary, or that there might be another solution, like discussing with his team. His help is less about actually helping and more about punishing himself and not being useless. Since he hates himself, that kind of help is not only "making up for the space he takes up" in his mind, but it's also kind of like self harm.
It also shows in season 5 when he straight up refuses to listen to Jon's explanations of the apocalypse and the statements in general.
Despite being so set on sacrificing himself for others, berating himself, and generally always trying to fix everything for everyone by himself, Martin has only ever considered his own needs.
It actually makes him feel very real as a character, but unfortunately most of the fandom has dumbed him down to two versions - season 1-3 "cutie shy softie boy with a crush on his boss awwww" and season 4-5 "hot sexy man that wants to take revenge on everyone who has ever wronged him and he is so in love with his monster boyfriend uwu❤️❤️ jon and martin are so cute together ❤️ " no they're not. Maybe Martin was fine with Jon before the apocalypse - admittedly i don't remember the safehouse ep all that well, and that seems to be what got everyone to ship them, but after the end of the wold, when they're travelling through the Fearscape together, they are so very not happy and healthy. There are so many problems. And Martin straight up refusing to listen to anything that Jon has to say about the Eyepocalypse is just the cherry on top.
Towards the end of the story, they use each other more as anchors that help them keep the remaining bits of their humanity. They ground each other, true, and they NEED each other, but their relationship is messy and tainted with the feelings of guilt, loss, and blame. They barely communicate their feelings and intentions. They stick together in order to survive, but the only thing bonding them together is shared trauma. They are broken by what they experienced. They actually don't know each other at all, just the idealized, pre-apocalypse versions of eachother. It makes me quite upset that the vast majority of the fans missed that very important aspect of their relationship.
It was literally spelled out for them by Peter Lukas:
Tumblr media
So yeah, maybe they are canon in the sense that they were briefly in a "romantic" relationship. But the fanon version is sooo romanticized and warped and twisted and changed and made to fit into one of those neat "workplace-enemies-to-lovers" boxes like tags on ao3.
To sum up: i don't like Martin as a person, but he's written well and realistically as a character. I despise fanon Martin and Jmart. Jmart is canon, but not in the way most people seem to think.
ily xoxo you're always right this is why you're my favourite mutual (alongside all my other mutuals. you are all my favourites.)

Starco had so much platonic potential
Tumblr media
Opinions on Star and Marco are all over the place when it comes to the svtfoe fandom, however, ever since that one chibi episode came out there has been a lot more hate. Now I was a small child when this show came out so I was never apart of the fandom then but from what I have heard I believe they were quite popular during its airing. I have personally always disliked Star and Marco, not so much their dynamic but more so how it was handled (this is also coming from the biggest tomstar fan). There is also some very large misconception that the show runners were pressured into making them canon at the end but this is not true, and frankly it has been very clear they were going to be endgame from the blood moon curse. For some reason whenever their ship isn’t canon people love making up rumors that it was originally going to be someone else, looking at you ohshs fandom…
To me the part that really irks me about them is their whole dynamic and relationship is basically just built off of the whole, every guy and girl, especially in older cartoons has to be together. The fact that this COULD have been the one show that was different is what disappoints everyone. Hoping and hoping but the inevitable ending of their relationship is constantly looming behind me whenever I first watched and rewatch the show.
I really want to talk about the “what could have been” with them especially when it comes to the blood moon curse
Tumblr media
I mean just imagine this; these two characters are constantly being shipped by others and joked about and even have a stupid curse that forces them to be together in the end (a representation the inevitable fate of all male/female duos in these shows AAAAAAAH), then through the sheer power of platonic friendship are able to continue their relationship with no romance waiting for them, even with a curse constantly trying to push them together they are able to find other people and become one of the most powerful platonic loves ever. Though… that is nothing more than a dream.
As I mentioned before my biggest issue with their relationship is how it was developed. The first two seasons it’s a lot of little crush drama but not much more but then they just go off again and date other people…? Then they develop their relationship… while Star is in a relationship with Tom.
Now don’t even get me started on Tom, I love Tom. The fact that he was willing to improve himself so much just for her is so amazing. I know the biggest argument about their relationship is on Stars side with her lack of communication and just hesitance on their relationship. These are definitely true things but I would like to say one thing… their relationship was so good, so healthy… when Marco wasn’t there. It’s not even that Marco was some alluring being for Star driving her away from Tom but he was just… in the way and making things messy for no reason. They even state this point blank in the show when he comes back. Stars mistakes I think derive from two things, Marco being Marco (I love him), and the fact that she’s saving the damn world as a teenager. I bring this argument up all the time when talking about relationships in shows like these because first of all they’re literal children, they’re not going to have a lot of romantic maturity and not only that, they’re children with the entire weight of the world on their shoulders. So yes sometimes they might be a little stressed and it will probably take a toll on their relationships. I love all of the episodes where it’s just Tom and Star having a good time together because they are just too sweet. On top of that what’s the show… a damn discrimination analogy using monsters… and what’s Tom? A MONSTER. It would have been so good for her to end up with a monster in the end! Oh my gosh. There is also the whole thing with Tom being treated differently than other monsters and the themes behind that but I just think they could’ve expanded more on that if they actually had them together.
Well back to what I was saying, they spend so much time developing these other relationships it just felt so unsatisfying when they actually ended together. It was just disappointing because you made us fall in love with these other relationships just to do a 180 back to your original plan? A huge thing with me is if Tom was just there to expand and develop Star so she could be better with Marco then why did you end it the way you did? Why was Tom the more mature one at the end of their relationship? It made no sense. And then there was the whole deal with putting Marco with random women then forgetting about them like an episode later. Now for my biggest argument against Starco, something that we don’t talk about enough, Marco… is an adult… Marco… is an adult… like he just is, and I’m just reminded of that every so often. Their romantic relationship felt dull and they don’t actually have much chemistry besides their friendship. They could have just been a basic couple that people don’t talk about much but the only reason people talk about them all the time is because they’re so disliked because of all these other relationships! To me the whole thing is just weird… it’s like they were confused but they were holding a simple map of their relationship from the very start.
Anyways, I talked way too much about Tom for a post which was meant to be like a paragraph long but I digress. I think Tom and Star should’ve ended together, I don’t like the cheating thing but that brings me to another point, A COUPLE THAT HAD ONE CHEATING WITH THE OTHER NEVER WORKS OUT… not that that’s necessarily the start but it’s a huge turning point in their relationship and so… weird! Well thank you for listening to my very unorganized rant about a kids show

Second round of design sketches for my Hoyoverse Amphoreus AU!
Part 1
As before, explanations under the cut below ^.^
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As mentioned before, the cast of this silly little AU is meant to be Amphoreus expies of the original Hoyoverse characters. I.e. this Focalors is totally unrelated to the canon Focalors, etc. etc. etc.
Phaethon (Based on ZZZ's Phaethon: the duo of Wise & Belle + their Bangboo, Eous)—
All know of the legendary Chrysos Heir Phaethon, but few know of their dual identity. Phaethon become known as an anonymous oracle who leaves behind stone slates with inscribed prophecies, and disappears before anyone can catch so much as a glimpse of their true form. But in recent years, a curious pair of siblings has opened up a quaint antique shop in Marmoreal Market, and rumor has it that this eccentric duo might hold the key to the truth behind Phaethon's identity!
yeah. I'm shamelessly ripping off ZZZ's whole thing w/ Wise & Belle running a store while secretly living a life as a legendary figure. sue me (this is a joke mihoyo plz don't sue me for realsies T_T)
This time, though, Eous is not a cute bangboo but instead a cute Chimera! Just a rather peculiar "Chimera" which takes on a form much like the Bangboo of New Eridu :)
As demigods of "Passage", they've tapped into some of the power of Janus, but only one sibling can fully use the power of the Janus coreflame, and neither has stepped up to the occasion... yet.
Amphoreus AU Belle & Wise also have a great rapport with Asphodel, much as the two of them in ZZZ canon have a good relationship with Trigger. That was a big part of the inspiration for bringing Trigger into this AU to begin with tbh. Belle & Wise fit the "demigod of Passage" role very well on their own but I was having trouble thinking of other ZZZ characters that'd fit with Amphoreus, but as I thought about Trigger's story and her relation w/ Phaethon, I realized she'd be a good fit for Amphoreus as well ^.^
Litost (Litost from Honkai Impact 3rd)—
One of the most infamous of the Chrysos Heirs, Litost is known for the juxtaposition of his high morals against his ruthless adherence to Talanton's law. As the ascendant demigod of Law, he wields tremendous power and is unafraid to judge even the Titans themselves. But when acting outside of his ordinary duties, he often shows kindness in his own discrete ways, leading to conflicting feelings amongst the many who fear his might.
yeah... it's this fucker. Fellow Captains, y'all know what this man is about, lol
I honestly really like his design and it's such a shame that HI3rd is allergic to playable males because Litost would have such a badass kit. I love his role in the story, and I have to admit I've found myself feeling surprisingly sympathetic for him. If I had to babysit a mentally unstable woman with the maturity of a kindergartner but the power of a literal planetary goddess... then yeah I think I'd probably be a bit pissed off at everyone just like Litost lmao
I digress, tho. Honestly in terms of personality & lore Litost in this AU is much like the canon one in HI3rd. I feel like he already fits the idea of "Law" really well, and he already has a sort of dignified demigodly vibe to him to begin with, so I didn't have to change much about his design at all either.
There's going to be other characters later on who I have to change quite a bit more, though, but that's for later ;)
Focalors (Furina/Focalors from Genshin Impact)—
To be merry and to celebrate all one's days is the way of life in the eyes of this Chrysos Heir: Focalors, the demigod of Ocean, inheritor of Phagousa's coreflame. Though supposedly a mighty hero, one is more likely to find Focalors lounging in the public baths of Marmoreal Palace, singing hymns of praise to the Titans and drowning herself with a seemingly endless flow of ambrosia!
This is an interesting case where I'm more directly inspired by Lady Furina, but I'm taking a fair bit of inspiration from Focalors as well (especially in her outward appearance). We learn much more about Furina, but canon Focalors is the figure that has the aspect of divinity in her character design.
So, I figure this Amphoreus AU Focalors is worth describing as a blend of the two, which is also fitting for her role as a demigod. One can easily imagine pre-demigod Focalors as behaving more like canon Furina, and [REDACTED] Focalors as being more like canon Focalors ;)
I think AU Focalors would get along pretty well with the rest of the Chrysos Heirs tbh. She's probably the most outgoing of them all, but by no means the weakest. Although... you're probably gonna wanna send someone like Litost to the frontlines before you send Focalors, lol
Alrighty! That wraps up round two of the Amphoreus AU designs :)
If I'm lucky I hope to get the rest done by the end of this week, but we'll seee
also here's a bonus close-up of Chimera Eous :D

Why do people genuinely get mad at people who think that Arthur might be straight?
I’m mostly on Twitter tbh but whenever I’ve seen someone say that they believe that Arthur is straight and that Charles and Arthur are particularly just friends, even no matter how respectful the op has been — they’ve been called homophobic or/and hated on by a certain type of fan.
Both me and my partner have noticed how it’s usually some users in particular that always seems to be in drama, and it’s like they can’t handle other opinions? I’m literally in a gay relationships with another man so obviously I hate homophones as much as the next person, and I don’t mind people clocking homophobes or just homophobic ways of thinking in the fandom space, but I’ve genuinely stopped enjoying the fandom on Twitter due to how it’s some users in particular that always seems to find a problem with someone expressing their opinions on popular ships, even if it hasn’t been directed towards anyone and kept almost overly respectful.
My partner is more on tumblr than I am but even he has gotten tired of seeing more than a couple of snarky comments from people not so subtly “calling people out” for expressing their opinions on something, especially regarding shipping. I’m obviously not talking about said people expressing their opinions as well in return because that’s ofc fine, I’m more so talking about people starting drama and being very passive aggressive both in people’s comments or in clearly targeted posts.
This has nothing to do with any recent particular drama, it’s just something I’ve noticed. Arguing over ships are frankly quite pointless and ridiculous, especially when it is over someone regardless of stance, expresses very respectfully their thoughts only to be met with snark and the whole “holier than thou” act.
And the fact that I’ve seen this mostly with a certain type of marthur and charthur shippers, it’s kind of strange. More so when people do deep dives on Mary for example and acknowledge how misogyny affects how people view her character and acknowledge the time period etc — people still seem to ignore everything one has said about it and immediately acts like you cannot speak of the character without it being born out of misogyny, even when I’ve personally seen someone with Mary as their number one character and hyper fixation get literally chased off Twitter for saying that Mary’s character was valid in her choices but that it’s okay for others to also criticize them. :/
I sure hope that you haven't gotten that feeling from me, that I have been hating on anyone, if so I would love to know where and how so I can change it, because that was not my intention.
I can't put myself into the heads of haters, like full honesty, but I think, just speculation, that people act out to "straight Arthur" because they are worried. Fanspaces have always been gay and fan spaces have been a safe space for queer folk to be for as long as it has existed, but especially recently there has come a lot of 'normies', for a lack of better word, into our spaces, that combined with all of the unrest in the world, it can kind of feel like a threat I suppose?
We have already seen the fall of crackships, rarepairs, words like kinning and OTP, all of these 'weird' things have been pushed out, and some places shipping anything that isn't canon, ESPECIALLY gay ships will earn you a slur or two. Fandom spaces no longer just belong to fanatics like it used to, but is more so becoming normalised, which has meant that socialital standards are also being pushed in, and sadly being gay is still not overall socially accepted.
People are worried something simple and harmless like 'oh I see Arthur as straight' can snowball into something bigger, and this can especially also be true with the red dead fandom because we already see a shit ton of homophobic sexist dudes due to the nature of the game. It might feel like you give them an itch they take a mile.
Again, I am not saying that is how I feel, not at all, I don't care what sexuality you want to see any character as, any headcanon is as valid as the next person's, but I do think that might be it. I could also be completely wrong, but you gave me a question and that is the best answer I can give.
As for the Mary part, yeah, folk think if you speak possitivly about any character with any flaw that comes from the time period you agree with them. I speak a lot about Bill and how his army training affected him and I have had folk up my ass for that.

It's been over a year and a half, and while I dearly love BG3 for introducing my favourite saga to the public at large, I still hate what they did to Sarevok.
Granted in BG1 he looked to be every bit the one-dimensional villain (then of course you have the opportunity to learn what his formative years were like and holy fuck does not even begin to cover it,) but once you get to BG2 TOB you have an actual, tangible chance at redeeming him -not even a baby little redemption, his alignment can straight up change from Chaotic Evil to CHAOTIC GOOD.
And even if BG3 canon didn't heavily imply that the change was the way things were left off (Minsc summarily reprimands Sarevok for backsliding if he's in the party for the Murder Tribunal,) endgame Sarevok in TOB was a man free from cultish thought, who pursued his own wants and purposes.
(oh and another thing: why are Minsc and Jaheira, who leave him at a relatively good place, not saddened and horrified by Sarevok's return to evil, and instead make flippant jokes about kicking his ass? Two of the most empathetic characters of the game being so casually cruel in the face of finding someone who they thought had become a friend in that position is laughable.)
BG3 ignores all of his character development in TOB to make a mindless Bhaalist henchman out of him -him, who tried to take the Throne of Blood for himself and basically called Bhaal a bitch in his pre-battle dialogue in BG1.
And that's not even touching on the circumstances of Orin's birth.
It's such a strong case of he would not fucking do that that it makes me wonder if the person responsible for it was a fanfiction writer off of the "dead dove" tag on AO3.
Like, was he evil and capable of terrible things? Yes.
BUT. There is an important factor that I've seen someone else point out, I can't for the life of me remember their blog's name but I'm gonna borrow the phrasing because it's true: his only positive experiences in life have been with women.
He drank his 'respect women' juice his whole life, while he almost exclusively had negative experiences with men, especially when he was young and vulnerable.
Here's a couple of things, just as an example:
-if we assume that the child!Sarevok apparition in the TOB trials was the accurate age he was when the Temple he was in was raided by Harpers, he was 5-7 years old. So he was old enough to understand what was going on when he watched Gorion choose Charname over him as the one child that was possible to save.
(Side note, when in BG1 he kills Gorion, he is much calmer and more collected than I would have been, in his place, and his "I'm sorry that you feel that way, old man" sounds almost genuinely apologetic.)
-Rieltar Anchev, the adptive father who picked him up and raised him in the Iron Throne after a brief stint of Sarevok living in the streets, had his adoptive mother killed and forced Sarevok to watch as they strangled her with a garrote. Sarevok was still a child during this.
(because of Rieltar, he had no idea of what was happening to him when the old-game equivalent of the Dark Urge started manifesting in horrible dreams and visions, so he had to deal with that alone -he sought out a Bhaalist priest, but they weren't very useful so he lost his patience with them and killed them.)
-his relationship with Tamoko was quite literally the only good thing he had happen in his life, and she even tries to get him to give up the Throne of Blood. But he couldn't -all the shitty stuff that happened in his life would have been "in vain" if he gave up, and he was in too deep to even think about the sunk cost fallacy, man needs ALL the therapy- and he died for it.
Granted, there's potential for "the abused becomes the abuser", but not as much if you consider that BG3 canon decided that Sarevok received a part of Imoen's soul -which makes it a lot easier to redeem him and change his alignment in TOB and then they exchange a banter in which several things get made quite blatant: 1. one of the ways Irenicus tortured Imoen was SA, 2. after receiving the piece of her soul, Sarevok had visions and impressions of her torture as if experiencing it himself. If at this point Sarevok has been redeemed, he commends Imoen for the strength it takes to go through that and still come out the other way not wanting to hurt others:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those are the words of a man who would not fucking do that.
Which is why the only thing that makes it likely for him to have backslid THAT badly is that, for one, he was left completely to his own devices after the events of TOB -a man just now relearning how to be alive, nevermind how to be free and how to exist outside of the villain/conqueror mentality- with no direction, no guidance and no purrpose...
And, two, that made him easy prey for Bhaalist cultists, possibly backed by the newly reborn Lord of Murder himself, who had to have assaulted/violated Sarevok's mind so hard that it was akin to brainwashing to put him at that low a point.
If Orin's birth has to have happened the way it did because it's sadly canon, it was a crime with one perpetrator and two victims, because a Sarevok in his right mind would have never consented to it.
tl;dr: Larian I love you but you completely assassinated Sarevok's character and I will not forgive that. Probably not ever.

So if it isn’t clear, I’m not a fan of chapter 423 and how it ended this final fight with AFO or Deku's supposed save of Tomura. I know I haven't talked that much about it but it's true.
And being the arrogant little internet-er that I am, I thought I might go over how I think this fight should’ve gone down. A little self-indulgent thing about how I would've done it, to make myself feel better, which you guys can read too if for some reason you want to. Granted, the objectively correct way to end this arc would’ve of course been to not do the fight or bring back AFO, end it at 418 as I described before; but this outline is for if one were to really insist on a final battle with a returned AFO.
Tumblr media
Starting disclaimer; length: as mentioned in the above linked post, this is going to be quite longer than what we saw in canon. Some may say this is unfair to claim Hori should have done when he’s so clearly burnt out, but that’s just what the fight needs to be properly epic or properly conclude it’s dangling plot threads. Again, this is why ending it at 418 was the correct move. If we really are including this extra climax though, then it needs enough pages for it; which is why we’re going further than the entire manga might, up to chapter 430 plus an epilogue. (Wanted that to be including Epilogue but one chapter outline went long so I split it in two. Just the way things go.)
Pre-423 changes:
Surprisingly little. A part of me wants to change the ‘it was AFO all along’ reveal to be less dog-doodoo but I can’t imagine how. The reveal is bad; ruining many of MHA’s themes, several of its characters, and helping cement Deku as an All Might clone by ending his arc as a hero who beats the big bad AFO…but it’s also necessary for the extra climax to happen. AFO’s ability to take over Tomura is almost literally directly proportional to how bad the reveal is, so we’re kind of stuck with it.
However I would like to change Deku’s dialogue with Aizawa in 420 to not mention his plans of killing Tomura along with AFO up to now. His character just becomes unsalvageablely unlikable with the reveal that he was just looking for a way to murder the crying child in a way he found most tasteful this whole time. So we’re cutting that and Deku’s still aiming for the save like a good hero should. Just have him go into more detail on what happened in Tomura's mind; it'll be useful for Kurogiri to overhear for later.
Besides that, the early chapters of the final AFO fight were mostly fixable with later additions or otherwise inoffensive, so we’re moving on to:
423: On the Offensive
Once again, we start with Deku just landing a huge hit on AFO. Immediate change; the fight is not over with this: AFO manifests a huge mouth with sharp teeth on his chest right where Deku hit to chomp down and pin him before charging up an energy explosion point blank that’ll rip his arm off at minimum.
Deku escapes using a St. Louise Smash to scrape off the bottom row of teeth, letting his arm out and chasing that energy attack to mostly just propel him back into the ground.
Some hero comments how it’s like they’re back to square one while another denies that and points out AFO’s two new major injuries. Shoto takes the opportunity to try going for a major attack too; but AFO, furious that the heroes think he’s on the back foot, uses a quirk to launch the remaining sharp teeth at Shoto as missiles. Endeavor then swoops in and takes the hit for Shoto, surprising him with the sacrifice play but demoralizing the other heroes for their No. 1 to take a hit like that.
Tumblr media
Now needing to get back on the offensive, AFO pulls out the giant double rivot mouth move to try and chomp down on Deku while he’s reeling; but they get intercepted by Mt. Lady and Ryukyu. At this time, Aizawa notices Kurogiri has disappeared from beside him.
As Deku is helped up by Aoyama, we see Kurogiri reappear on a bit of elevated dirt behind them; and stepping out to comment on how much he’s missed is a dishevelled looking Spinner.
424: The League of Villains
We instead start with a flashback to Touya, Fuyumi, and Rei being taken away from the battle by those stretcher robots. While they’re a distance away from others, sparks appear from the droids carrying Touya as they halt in place; causing Fuyumi to panic and ask her and her mom’s droids to also stop so she can see what happened. As Rei and Fuyumi struggle to sit up, they see that Toga has thrown knives into both of Touya’s robots and is now cutting him out.
As Fuyumi panics and tells her to get away, a warp gate opens and lets out Spinner, who tells Dabi to get up because the inevitable has happened and AFO has started fighting Tomura; Kurogiri filled him in on the whole thing. Dabi responds, revealing he’s still awake, and attempts to get up with Toga’s help.
Fuyumi begins really panicking, telling them not to take her brother when he’s so injured and she just got him back. But Dabi responds, in an apologetic tone as one could expect of Dabi, that he’s got something important to do.
Rei finally takes the chance to pipe up, asking if these are the friends Touya’s been staying with. Touya introduces Spinner, Toga, and Kurogiri, and says that they are; and then introduces his mom and sister to the League.
Back at Mt. Fuji, Spinne, Toga, and Dabi arrive out of Kurogiri and take in the situation. Kurogiri, now awake for real but with some Shirakumo in his tone, comments that it seems AFO is back in control of Tomura, but that like he saw last time, AFO’s control is probably still precarious. They just need to wake up Tomura again before they think of a more permanent solution.
Aoyama panics seeing the League here, but Deku interrupts asking if they’re here to fight AFO and save Tomura. Toga answers by saying he can just sit back and watch them do his job before telling Kurogiri that he’ll need to play defence; neither the heroes or AFO have noticed them in the crowd yet, but they will not appreciate them being here once they do. As he does, she and Spinner start yelling at Tomura; asking why he left them behind to wallow in his self-pity while they’re still waiting on him to destroy this unfair world? Where’s their horizon?
Tumblr media
(maybe call back to this^ somehow?)
This grabs the heroes attention, some wondering if they need to fight them too. But then Dabi joins in, saying that Shigaraki was the one person to truly surpass All Might in power, so to see him a pawn of AM’s favourite punching bag is just sad; what’s with this embarrassing state, leader? Reminded at this sight of his own words to All Might in Kamino, Endeavor tells the other heroes to let the villains speak, while thinking to himself that he can finally see what relationship Tomura has with these villains like his son, and that he's glad he learned this about Touya.
AFO gets annoyed at the League’s insults and moves to attack, but finds his body shaking. In the back of his mind, Tomura stops screaming and appears behind AFO from the shadows, responding to the League’s call.
425: Secret Boss Battle
A fight begins at the centre of the mind between Tomura and AFO, the arena resembling the destroyed cityscape from when he first got the AFO quirk, but shrouded in darkness. Unable to really use their quirks in this space, they basically both resort to hand-to-hand combat and psychically throwing debris at eachother.
As they fight, AFO asks how Shigaraki awakened; his will should have been crushed with his identity as Tenko Shimura torn to shreds. Tomura affirms that he finds no will in the friends or dreams of Tenko Shimura, AFO has managed to treed on those things thoroughly; so instead he'll hold onto what is his own as Shigaraki Tomura. AFO balks at that; he moulded that identity even more thoroughly, implanted every idea in his head and guided his every decision; but Tomura reminds him that's not true, he left Tomura in the care of others many times. We then get both a flashback to Kurogiri comforting Tomura when AFO first died fightign AM, and a montage of flashback panels to his time with the League. Tomura exclaims that this is more than enough will to take on a shitty secret boss like AFO.
At this point, Shinomori appears and punches AFO hard in the face. He is proceeded shortly after by Ragdoll & various other costumed folk who follow up Shinomori with their own attacks. AFO asks if Tomura has caused a quirk rebellion like what happened to the 'other him' and Tomura answers: yes & no. The quirks are active in fighting, but they're not so much rebelling as just helping him subdue a rogue quirk, like what happened against Star & Stripe (he made sure to ask them though; need to know your party for the raid boss after all, and he'd been meaning to take stoke anyway). Or did AFO forget the dynamic of person & quirk between them?
Tumblr media
AFO responds by growing into a giant, elongated monster to fight back; furious that these pawns, husks, and nobodies think they have any right not only attacking the demon lord, but looking down on him. AFO knocks a dozen hero & villain vestiges back, but Tomura throws a whole mental building at him for his trouble. AFO emerges out the top trying to attack him, but gets intercepted by the vestiges of Kudo and Bruce; both of them look shattered and like they're missing half their pieces, but the rest are keeping shape to punch AFO as much as they can.
AFO's fury briefly flares seeing them, but he quickly realizes what their being here means, as he hated them too much to ever take their pathetic quirks. Tomura confirms by saying AFO has his own secret boss, pointing out a small light in the distance like a star that AFO immediately identifies as the last spark of Yoichi.
426: Two Fronts
The inner fight continues: AFO begins racing past everyone to try and claim that distant light, but this just allows vestiges both stolen and OFA to slam him into huge debris as he tries. AFO grows even larger to Machia-level size and swats them away, landing a good hit on Tomura, Kudo, & Bruce as he tells them to stop infringing on his story. Just he he goes for another blow though, he takes a hit from seemingly nothing.
Cut back to outside and it's clear that he just got hit by Momo & Denki's canon, now with Jirou helping too. Dazed and in disbelief, AFO is then also hit by Kamui Woods throwing many huge boulders at him. Rikido and Kirishima go for a big attack too, but AFO knocks them away as he regains himself.
Realizing that he's on a war of two fronts and losing, he implants himself with those large roots he seems to have, embedding them in the earth and spreading them out to disrupt and separate the heroes. He then uses more quirks to form a large shell around himself, and uses a more defensive All-Factor Release to launch a myriad of attacks from the shell's surface. Deku goes in to attack AFO from an opening on the shell, but he launches more attacks out of it at Deku & the League. With the roots and shell protecting AFO from most of the heroes, he left an opening on purpose so he can see the League and focus on destroying them, which will then let him subdue Tomura. Deku realizes this plan too, and changes course to deflect the attacks on the League.
More roots emerge, but other members of the class catch on; Shoto freezing some while Shoji grabs others, allowing the League to keep yelling for Tomura to fight. At this time, with assistance from Sero, Iida, Mineta, & Mina; Ruyukyu and Mt. Lady lady finally rip out those mouth stalks, leaving two great black indents in the shell. Enraged, AFO causes the shell to grow large with great teeth around it's opening and enlarge in size greatly, now resembling the imagery of ultimate evil from All Might's old description of AFO as it launches more attacks at Deku and the League.
Tumblr media
Deku tells the League to keep it up while he protects them, and we see side-by-side panels of both him and Tomura, bolstered by the League's words calling for his help, continuing their respective assaults on AFO.
427: Trust and Worth
We briefly see the other heroes attempts to get through the now-giant shell in between AFO's still-ongoing onslaught of attacks; Nejire and Amajiki's best attacks doing nothing, and Momo's laser barely putting in a scratch. Mirio says he got in, but his punches still can't phase the guy inside. Weird thing is, he didn't even notice a hero got in; so focused on Deku & the League. The attacks from the shell's surface seem completely random and haphazard too; he's ignoring them. Shoto points out that he basically can thanks to his defences, so does this mean they have to wait for someone who can do something? But Mirio rephrases it to that they need to wait for when they can do something.
Cut back to Deku and he's in a similar mental state. He's almost literally running on OFA's fumes and he's stuck on the defence protecting the League because he can't get into the shell through all the attacks, especially now that it's grown much larger and AFO is hiding deeper inside. It's anxiety inducing, he knows Bakugou would hate it. A part of him wants to try and think of a way to blast past the attacks, but he's not sure he could beat AFO in one hit so it might be too risky (if not for him, then for those behind him). Better to do some entrusting himself and leave this to Tomura until he leaves an opening or needs one himself, which Deku will know because he can see the fight in his mind through their connection.
But back at the mental battle; Shigaraki's confidence only enrages AFO, who grabs him in his giant hand and start squeezing. He taunts Tomura, asks if he really thinks someone who AFO built from the ground up can deny him? 'No, his pathetic friends will have their cries left unanswered forevermore, as punishment for entrusting their hopes to a pawn.'
Just then, another new player swoops in, busting right through the palm of AFO's hand to pull Tomura out. It's Hana Shimura! Who promptly tells AFO to shut up about her brother. The rest of the Shimuras also appear, with Kotaro denying the scope AFO's influence, apologizing to Tenko, and saying his abusive behaviour was his fault alone. Tomura pauses at seeing them, and says while he's in no mood to forgive his father, he promises to get them all out alive so he can grovel for forgiveness properly later.
Tumblr media
Nana also appears and asks how the Shimuras are here, which Nao answers saying AFO pilfered their quirks from their remains after their tragedy. Nana is horrified, but AFO can only say that he's beginning to regret letting his whims draw him to any worthless trash he found along his path. Shigaraki remarks back that he's finding plenty of worth in this so called 'trash'.
428: A New Strategy
As more vestiges go back on the offensive; the Shimura family take a moment for strategy, wondering how they can beat this giant monster. Nana wonders why AFO can even grow like this, but Tomura figures he must've done it by letting long-suppressed emotions run wild. He's fraying himself for a chance to reach Yoichi, but stronger emotions like from Tomura or his sister can tear right through him. It also means if they beat him, he'll either be gone for good, or unveil his own core like what happened with Tenko. Concluding this is enough strategy, Tomura leaps into the fray and deals a massive wound to AFO.
AFO is beginning to realize his situation in this two-front battle is not improving, but being so close to Yoichi, he reconsiders his priorities and his strategy to shut up the League. Luckily the reappearance of Nana reminds him of just the way to do it. Outside, Deku, Aoyama, and a few other students continue to protect the League as they call for Tomura and mock AFO, when something changes. The onslaught of random attacks stops, and instead the shell begins to glow, and then a massive force begins emanating from the shell causing gale force winds to blast everyone away. AFO has combined the energy explosion he used to kill Nana with Air Cannon & Shokewave and is using them continuously to create these winds. Using his explosion quirk like this might burn up all his stamina, maybe even kill him and Tomura, but he decides it's worth it to see Yoichi.
Tumblr media
The winds drown out the League, internally causing Shigaraki to think they might've just died, which in turn lets AFO pin him under his hand and start crushing him once more.
Deku, being blasted into a wall of dirt, realizes they can't keep up a passive strategy anymore, these winds will tear & burn everyone up. This is when a Warp Gate opens in front of his face, blocking the winds and letting him talk though it with the League, who are protected by a much larger Warp Gate. Spinner says they need a new strategy, but Deku gets distracted observing how Kurogiri's Warp Gates seem to be very effective against these winds by just warping the wind somewhere else. Before Dabi can properly express annoyance, Deku says he's got a plan; but he'll need the League's full cooperation, so are the willing to work with him? Dabi & Toga look to Spinner, who tells Deku...fat chance. He wants their help, he's the one who has to work with them. Deku agrees, so Spinner welcomes him to the League of Villains and asks for his plan.
429: All For One; One For All; All Or Nothing; One Last Smash
Deku and the League begin their operation. Kurogiri opens various Warp Gates around the area that a) give heroes places to take cover from the gusts of wind, and b) let him create his own jets of wind. He points all of them at Deku's back, launching the boy at the shell's opening. The force of each jet matches the force of AFO's wind, meaning multiple will overcome it. Granted, applying that much force to someone from both ends this way would crush most people, but Deku's got a body that can withstand OFA so this is nothing.
As he's launched at the opening, AFO notices his approach and creates giant sharp teeth to impale him; but Deku, being carried by the wind, is free to use another St. Louise Smash to destroy them and make his way in. AFO then tries a variety of other attacks inside the chamber of the shell, but a Warp Gate opens and a blast of ice freezes all of them, and we see Dabi commenting how there's nothing like a life or death situation to see how strong you really are (his mom's quirk packs quite the punch).
AFO then closes the shell to stop the League's interference, air jets or otherwise, and prepares another All-Factor laser pointed right at Deku. But just then, we see Shoto outside preparing a ramp, which Bakugou takes off from (that's right we see their team-up this time), using explosions to overpower the wind, break through the shell where team Momo scratched it, and blast away the charged up laser before it could fire. Now with line of sight inside back, another Gate opens with one of Toga's syringes shot through. Deku grabs it's cord, and uses it to launch himself back at AFO, finally landing the hit to knock off his gag.
Back inside the mental battlefield; AFO is so close to Yoichi and is dragging himself through the vestiges' attacks. Deku suddenly arrives across their mental link, and slams into the giant AFO. Truly desperate, AFO seems to almost puke up something from the hit that gets launched at Yoichi; it's trashbag baby AFO! Who's suddenly feeling a lot more honest, yelling for Yoichi about how much he needs him, how he only cares about him, just let him see his brother's face one last time.
Tumblr media
Shigaraki hears this and realizes what kind of person his sensei was all along, and decides what to do with a pity-ing look on his face and a nod from his parents. AFO's path is interrupted one last time by Tenko Shimura, who grabs him in a hug and tells him he understands his pain, but it's over, he needs to let go of this. The star-like light he'd been chasing turns into Yoichi's face, causing AFO to being to cry and relax into the hug, and the two boys fade into another tiny light that rests in Tomura's hand as he shows Deku & the vestiges. It's over.
430: What Makes Heroes and Villains
Deku asks what what Tomura will do with that last shred of AFO, and Tomura says he doesn't know. Part of him still wants to crush it, both out of anger & just to be safe, but that seems distasteful after what just happened. Just then, one vestige steps forth and asks for it, who Tomura identifies as Spearlike Bones; the Shigaraki twins' mother. She doesn't introduce herself as such, but says she knew AFO before he went evil, so give it to her and she'll keep it safe and out of trouble this time. Both Deku and Tomura agree, and then sit down to talk.
The scene shifts to a beach at night, they're alone, and they shift to their four and five-year-old selves. Tenko and Izuku talk for a bit like that, about...a lot of stuff. Mostly about heroes, about Deku, and what Tenko thinks of Deku. If Tenko feels saved (a bit yeah, but also a bit not), how Deku's a good hero, how he's a mediocre hero. How Tenko thinks all heroes suck and are failures, especially All Might, which riles 4-year old Izuku up good...but also how, as the first hero that Tenko doesn't think is a failure who sucks, Deku is the greatest hero ever.
Izuku asks what Tenko will do now, and he says he'll do what he said before; be a hero for the villains, as only a villain can. That said, Tomura doesn't really want to fight Deku anymore if he can avoid it; so he's prepared a peace offering, and a message. The peace offering appear to Izuku as a meteor shower in the night sky, accompanied with a shot outside the mental world to show Shigaraki standing over an unconscious Deku with Tomura's hand pressed agianst him. The message gets blacked out a la Dabi. Izuku, suddenly a teenager is shocked and turns to ask what he means, but finds instead Shinomori asking what what means? Deku has been given the quirks from OFA back, although they are all in pieces aside from Danger Sense, hence them appearing to him as a meteor shower.
We cut to various scenes with villains; Skeptic in a police carrier, Spinner's advisors and a couple other rioters being held in custody, Compress in prison, Redestro in another prison, and even Gigantomachia, once more being tied down even as he holds his hand to the wound AFO gave him. They all see above them a tiny blotch of blackness like Kurogiri's mist.
Back at Mt. Fuji, Tomura finally emerges from the shell of ultimate evil carrying Deku. Lemillion is first on the scene and tells Tomura to hand him over; and is quite shocked when Tomura does just that without issue. Says the two of them made friends and sorted it out in there so don't worry. Toga also tells Mirio to relay a message to Deku that she'll be keeping an eye on both him and Uraraka from here, so keep up their progress together. Other heroes arrive and surround them slowly, not sure what move to make. Iida is the one who finally tells them to come quietly and let this end.
Tomura agrees to let this all end, and Spinner & Toga both ask what they're doing now? Going out in a peaceful way, or a villainous way? Tomura says both; that they'll be performing what may be their final act of villainy, before asking if Kurogiri has a big enough place picked out. Kurogiri confirms he does, and opens a Warp Gate for the League.
Tumblr media
At this time, those other villains we saw earlier start getting Gloop Warped away from custody. As the League step through Kurogiri, a number of heroes suddenly move to stop them. Deku barely regains a bit of consciousness and tells them not to attack, causing a few of his classmates to pause. No one is fast enough to stop the League anyway, and Kurogiri disappears behind them. The League are gone.
The chapter ends with police, prison managers, and heroes all reporting in. Besides Dr. Garaki and Overhaul who got left behind, every villain bigger than a small time crook they had in any form of custody throughout the entire country has disappeared.
431: Class 1A Rising
The obligatory Epilogue chapter. As I expect of canon, this would probably be extra long and cover a lot of different plot threads. It'll also be very different based on how Hori wants to take things; but I'll go the simple route.
First things first is catching up with all the hero kids in the hospital. Friendship moments, decompression, comments on character arcs, that sort of stuff. We also learn Tomura's final message to Deku, which he relays to everyone else, student and pro: The heroes have attacked the League three times now. If they attack a fourth time, the villains will return to destroy Japan. But if they don't, the villains will never return.
We then get narration of the immediate aftermath of this announcement; heroes throughout the country search high and low for any signs of Shigaraki & the disappeared villains for months. In a similar case to when they hunted for Stain, this results in heroes finding a lot of injustices they'd normally overlook to catch bigger villains; lost children, domestic abuse, prejudice, that sort of thing. Still, for those entire months, no villains more dangerous than some corner store robbers are found.
Speaking of the heroes, an emergency ranking is conducted; naming Kamui Woods as the new number one, with the rest of the Lurkers as No. 2 & 3. The previous top 3 have all retied (maybe Endeavor dies from that tooth attack he took for Shoto, idk.) Additionally, Mirio, Nejire, & Tamaki have taken the no. 8, 9, and 10 slots, and vow to catch up and rise even higher. Still, there's not a lot of interest by anyone involved; seems everyone has their eyes on the next generation.
There's a few more scenes of loose ends getting tied up like Overhaul waking up Pops or Gentle & Nagant getting status as heroes before we finally return to UA The kids' 2nd year finally begins for real. it's jarring to be sure, but time must go on and so too must education. Besides, a lot of them have started thinking after that war that they need to consider what kinds of heroes they want to be. Deku's falling behind with his shattered OFA not yet showing signs of healing, if that's even possible, but he's confident he'll catch up once again. Perhaps this is where we'd see out final moments with the core cast, checking in with everyone here as they all get ready for their next lesson/mission as heroes. If Hori wanted a more overtly 'to be continued' ending (though I imagine he would not), perhaps we might see where the villains ended up in some sense, building up a future conflict. Or perhaps we might skip forward years into the future, see the kid as pros and end on that kind of uncompromising 'Happily ever after'. Depends on how much open-endedness is preferred.
Tumblr media
Either way, there's my conclusion. I won't say it's perfect or anything; I'll even admit I may have gotten the League more involved than would ever be realistic (or maybe it's more like I may not have involved the Deku's class enough). But I like to think I got some cool plot beats in, some cool reveals, I'm more proud of the call back to All Might's ultimate evil imagery than it may deserve; but most importantly, the villains end this war alive and saved. Tomura got to be the hero for villains; and I'd say Deku, between getting his save off and not being the focal point of the win, came out looking a lot less like an All Might clone or the next pillar, and just looking a lot like a better hero than in canon in general. That's what I feel anyway.
Regardless, writing this whole 'what-if' out did in fact make me feel better about 423. So my self-indulgent ramblings were worth that much at least.

Can we hear more about that theory?
it's less of a theory and more just derangement, and a specific angle of viewing the story. but smth i think that is crucial to how i see the story and something that i think is too-often deemphasized in the fandom, regardless of how much you buy into the derangement lmao, is that c!discduo is not...really a standalone relationship. i mean it is, but in just as many ways it isn't...and the reason why the finale and you know, an actual conversation between the two of them takes so long to get to is precisely because it was overshadowed by the third component of their whole deal. are you following? does this make sense? i dont know.
c!dream + c!tommy are one side of a triangle that supports quite literally everything abt their whole central conflict and narrative, with the third part being, well, c!wilbur. and the c!wilbur-c!tommy-c!dream of it all is quite understandably easy to miss, but it's also what i think leads to some of the most striking differences in c!dream and c!tommy interpretations, not to mention the story as a whole. c!wilbur's relationship with c!dream and c!tommy separately AND together is critical to the ways that the two characters develop and how their conflict evolves--i'd say that that's more just. canon, than a theory. but how far you extend that is where it kinda delves into different interpretations of canon, you know?
but it's just like ... when the whole fucking point of that last stream, the whole damn crux of it is when tommy says "i thought you were just a villain" and dream replies with "i am and i always have been" and the whole damn POINT is that these viewpoints were never true to begin with, when what dream throws to tommyinnit is a picture of lmanburg, when the shit that they have to dismantle to reach out at the end of the fucking world is the hero/villainisms that have DEFINED THEIR STORY independently AND together, it's like. look . when the story is like dismantling the literal source of their conflict and c!wilbur's fingerprints are all over the damn thing, it feels a Little reductive to see the conversation so consistently happen without even invoking his name, you know?

7) If your OC is in the modern day, what fantasy class would they be? Would they be a different race?
9) How does your OC handle their physical health? Do they take care of themselves?
11) What was your inspiration for your OC?
For Atlas, Ryuji and Odesa?
hey Hunter!! tysm for the ask (๑>؂•̀๑)
ATLAS ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
I already answered the first one HERE, but I think Atlas would be a human and either a ranger or a fighter class. So technically he would be a different race, as he’s a Magicus in canon!! Maybe if he really needed to be he’d be a half-elf…. I could kind of see him being one..
How Atlas handles his physical health honestly depends on which arc in the story he’s in. Despite being homeless from the second arc all the way to the fifth, he does his best to stay relatively healthy throughout their frequent journeys. (Even if he does stink a little.) But Atlas at the same time, has little regard for himself when he is injured. He’ll hide injuries and push himself, as well as refusing medical care, which can cause problems on their own.
In the latter arcs Atlas goes through a ton of shit that leads him down to some not-so-great coping mechanisms (drugs, plainly) and his physical health deteriorates pretty badly. It’s not until he’s well in his twenties where he’s really taking care of himself properly — which means getting first aid care when he’s hurt or sick.
I didn’t really have a super big inspiration for Atlas I don’t think. When I was creating him Felix was my primary oc, and he as a character is someone who’s loud and reactive and expressive. With Atlas, I wanted to create a character who’s the opposite of that. Calm, composed, and stony-cold.
RYUJI 𓇢𓆸
Ryuji, obviously, would be a necromancer, considering he currently is one in canon. I could also see him being a half-elf in a true fantasy story. He just gives some of those vibes to me.
Ryuji does not take care of himself whatsoever. Because Metamorphosis deals with mental health as a primary theme throughout the story (the Immortai are in a sense supposed to represent the effects of grief, generational trauma and mental illness on a person with a magic twist), Ryuji is severely depressed. It reflects on how he behaves and how he views himself, eating, sleeping, and showering very little, especially when his curse grows worse. When Yara first sees him she quite literally wonders if he’s homeless or on drugs — partially due to the fact he’s talking to himself — but still, a big part of it is his disheveled appearance.
I made Ryuji back in 2021 originally, and I remember originally he was based off of wisteria flowers. He had purple hair and eyes, and also a lot of snake motifs throughout his design. Obviously that ended up changing a lot throughout the years, and he doesn’t look at all like his original design anymore.
ODESA ౨ৎ
Odesa would be a fighter class in a high-fantasy setting, and a human. And perhaps she’d be a human gifted with prophetic visions…..
Odesa takes care of herself moreso than Ryuji does. Fashion and her physical appearance is very important to her, something that gives her a sense of control and calm in their unstable, violent lives. She always does her make-up before departing on missions, as it gives her some sense of normalcy in their fucked up world. When Yara first meets her, she notes that Odesa looks very beautiful and put-together, her outfits being very flashy and “something [Yara] could never pull off with such confidence and grace”.
Odesa was originally from a whole different story with an ex-friend of mine, so when I added her to the revamp of Metamorphosis, I completely reworked her character. When I was first making her I was just scrolling Pinterest for design inspo, when I came across a girl with those y2k spiky space buns and angel bite piercings. Those two things have been a staple of her design since.

Y'know seeing the toxic reactions after Wiege about how it's toxic romance apologism and apparently racism allegations cuz "yeah the POC lady get killed cuz of white man" from fans is what's so bad for me cuz I'm pretty sure that's the opposite of what the creators wanted to convey, yes I hated Luka cuz to be fair, he was a fairly destructive villain and he was terrible to gaslight Mizi during their performance like that but it doesn't mean he can't have a core understanding perspective as a character cuz now we know more than enough that this man is broken and he wasn't raised to be any better but he has the potential to change
Okay I heard about Studio Lico producing works like Manhwas where they sometimes have racist writing but it's definitely not the case for ALNST and I don't think racism has anything to do with Hyuna and Luka's story, it's just the bullshit modern western audience has been having on Twitter
I also want to say that ALNST drives down the realistic horrors of trauma and love, the so-called toxic romance fits but what Hyuna and Luka have aren't just about romance, it's about two people who are deeply hurt and are major victims of a hurting system and it ended up ruining their relationship one way or another, we see how it screwed up Luka and it ended up costing his relationship with Hyuna, but I want to say that Hyuna is honestly great that in the end, she accepted that Luka really is just another victim like her and he's not the real villain here but the shitty life they were born into, I think that's what matters more
ALNST is what I call a true story of Love in the face of the horrors and the unknown and I mean this quite literally
As someone of Asian heritage myself who's lived both outside and inside the US, I've been exposed to both worlds for most of my life (the TV in my household quite literally had no English channels). On top of that I started consuming copious amounts of East Asian media including the obvious manga/anime/light novels/webnovels/webtoons/games/etc across JP, KR, CN so believe me when I say I know how racist it can be. In fact my biggest pet peeve is the depiction of foreign characters and I have a whole essay I can write on this topic.
...Which makes the Alnst racism allegations hilarious because oh man, the sweet summer children have no idea what racism in East Asia(n media) looks like if they think Hyuna dying for Luka is a solid example.
Not to mention, Hyuna is one of the few characters explicitly Korean (as shown in her and Hyun Woo's names) and there seems to be a built in assumption in this accusation that brown skin means she's... not Korean. Which in and of itself reveals a lot of issues.
Generally I think outrage over Wiege are the result of a few factors:
Hatred for Luka (understandable considering he is purposefully set up to be hated for Round 5 and 7)
Misdirected Western social justice warrior-ing
Just general upset/denial over Hyuna dying
But also you'd notice that none of these things... speak to the quality of writing. And there's a reason for that.
Because the writing is good.
What you want for the story ≠ what's good for the story
Something makes you upset ≠ it's bad writing
I want all of the characters to have never died or suffered and live happily with each other in the AU world.
But if canon didn't exist why would I want that so desperately?
The fact that canon exists and ripped my heart out and stomped it to pieces is necessary, and believe it or not, objectively good writing.
-
Toxic romance apologism is even more hilarious considering
Firstly — *waves hand at the entire Alnst lineup* Why would you choose now to speak up on that 😂
Secondly — apologism implies Alnst is defending toxic romance.
When.
It is clearly not.
As proven by: [Insert link to every official art ever of characters in Alnst fked up bc of love and/or another character]
But also this , this , this , and this.
If there's any romanticisation, I'd argue it's from the fandom rather than creator intent.
Alnst explores unhealthy love, absolutely. But it never once defends it or pretends it isn't what it is. Just read any of the creator commentary on the characters and you'd see that.
Tl;dr the fact that someone has interpreted Alnst as toxic romance apologism implies a shallow read on the story imo
Also just gotta say
People shouting that Hyuna has been treated unjustly, yet not seeing that the entire video of Wiege is a love letter to Hyuna and her worldview is quite ironic

i'd love to know how you go about writing neurodivergence in a fantasy/not modern setting. thinking specifically of how you describe ally's experience as allegorical whereas flames's autism is canon. how do you differentiate between the two in a world where the vocabulary and contexts are different? (hope that makes sense!)
Thank you!!
I think a lot of it depends on how far immersion wise you want to go, in some ways. Most fantasy worlds still use the twelve month Gregorian Calendar system, for example (even in LOTR, though Tolkien is technically writing it as a translation) or terms for sexuality/gender. In Vita's Land, they actually use an 8 month calendar system with one month associated with an Infran respectively, though I kept each month at 6 weeks for a 52ish week year for my own sanity. I've been debating whether I want to go full throttle of having unique sexuality/gender terms as well, especially because I think the world operates on a much more "you are a woman or not-woman" dichotomy as opposed to a (cis) man or (cis) woman binary, but I digress.
I think some of why Ally's experience feels allegorical to me / to my experience with autism is because I started really writing and understanding her and her story when I was around 16, and that's also when I think my neurodivergency was sticking out to me more; at the time, I chalked it up to be questioning in my sexuality (specifically for asexuality) as gender wasn't a thought in my head yet, and so I was kind of crafting her story at the same time.
Her story is also growing up feeling Other'd for a variety of reasons — an Infran but powerless; a human being raised among non-humans; being Asian when conversations around race tend to be heavily focused on black and white issues somewhat literally; being asexual within the broader allosexual/alloromantic queer community; feeling left behind / struggling within the 'school' system or within societal expectations since not every autistic person is 'Gifted' — so while she's not canonically autistic to me, growing up with "everyone around me knows I'm different (derogatory) somehow and won't tell me how/why so I'm just stumbling around in the dark" is absolutely a core aspect of her book one story in particular and one I think other autistic / neurodiverse people could relate to (I've also considered BDP or NDP for her, tbh). I don't honestly know if I can write a 100% not autistic character from an OC standpoint, anyway.
The end of her book one story is therefore reminiscent of how I felt learning there was a Reason I felt the way I did (ie. my therapist was like "I think you're autistic"), that there were reasons for how my brain worked, and that it wasn't something wrong with me and that my friends loved me/wanted to and could indeed help me just as I was. It's not quite the unconditional "you never have to work on your behaviour or yourself to meet people in the middle" because that's just not always true, but it is true that you can meet people and be met in the middle and receive unconditional love and support on your way to the middle, or wherever people are able to meet you (sometimes, again, right where you are as is).
Flames, meanwhile, I realized I'd been writing as canonically autistic the whole time without realizing, because she is one of the characters (alongside Bill) that I probably relate to the most in terms of like, how she thinks, feels, and responds to things. One of the cruxes of her and Ally's dynamic, written from Ally's POV of course, is Ally resenting her for her apparently effortless success/natural inclinations. I have had people academically or aggressively compete with me my whole life much to my own confusion and despite dislike of competition, and having people read superiority complexes onto me like, has always sucked ass, and has always been untrue. It's especially frustrating because it then makes their insecurity my problem when I am truly just trying to chill/exist/have a good time. None of this is to say that Flames isn't at fault at all either, she's not perfect nor am I, but being misunderstood and having people fooled by your mask / being a good performer is something I related to a lot in her, specifically from an autistic experience.
Now onto what you were actually asking, worldbuilding wise:
I'm fairly certain the in-universe term for autism is known as being wide minded, and it's seen as a neutral/positive leaning thing. The name, I think, captures both the reality of autism as a wide spectrum, and in the idea of it being 'far reaching' — knowing a lot of information (hyperfocus, special interest) / needing a lot of information (to plan, to understand, etc) as two sides of operation. So Flames is wise minded / autistic TM and Ally's remains allegorical, even if I'm not opposed to it also being literal later and/or anything else
I think there's probably a lot more grace / understanding for neurodiversity and disabilities (it's decently common for sighted people to learn braille, for example) since their school system is different too (some form of homeschooling until age 7, then formal schooling for 9ish years) and like... more wide minded Infrans in the past to help generate and push for understanding/acceptance in society that the current Infrans somewhat get to reap the rewards from.
Other things I want to interweave is:
I'm fairly certain Rayan is also wide minded (autistic)
George and Jamie both have ADHD, though I'm not sure yet what it'd be called in-universe. ADHD's current naming scheme in the real world isn't very useful or descriptive, so... we shall see!

Kai <3
hii!! ahh you know i love to yap about my boy lets go:
Sexuality Headcanon:
i'm of the general opinion that he's only ever truly sexual/romantically interested in Bon-Bon so take from that what you will lol
Gender Headcanon:
cis he/him - but i can imagine he's not super pressed about things like painting his nails. like he'd be the girl dad (or fun uncle) that lets them put bows in his hair and play around with makeup. he was a teenager in the late 80s so while i do love the way they dress him most of the time I would have done more in the 90s flashbacks personally - (lemme know if you want to see the mood board for my kai inspired MMC i had so much fun building their wardrobes since its set in 2000 lol)
A ship I have with said character:
Bonkai all day every day there is not another option for me i fear. They truly mean so much to me and out of all the relationship fumbles in TVD they're the biggest to me. I personally didn't want kai to 'redeem' himself for her - i just wanted them moving forward together.
A BROTP I have with said character:
my true favorite here is jokai - i wish we'd had more time with their fun twin banter and seeing them grow back into their obvious bond
there's also a lot of lost potential with liv because of the veryyy obvious similarities she has with kai personality wise.
listen, i didn't hate kai and damon together in s8 (it's just annoying that he spends nearly all of his time with him negating the fact that he should be pissed damon killed him to begin with??) but i do think they've got fun friendship potential.
i just know ric and kai would have gotten along if we'd had more time to force them together - the twins have too much in common for ric to not soften to him, not to mention they're technically around the same age themselves lmao
most of the modern fics i've read put him in friend groups with jeremy and that makes a lot of sense to me
A NOTP I have with said character:
kai x katherine makes little to no sense to me and it drives me up the wall that they put it in s8, even as a throw away line. katherine canonically only ever falls for 'good guys' so putting her with kai felt so silly ?? like julie sweetie are you suddenly saying he IS good ??
A random headcanon:
considering how many i have this was the hardest question to do lol idk why ?? i just couldn't decide 😂 but im gonna go with: his favorite sabbat is probably Lughnasadh since it's one of our biggest harvest festivals, but i do think he's a fall boy so samhain/mabon are probably up there for him as well. lots of focus on cooking/baking/the ancestors around that time so catch him getting sad around the old family cookbooks lol
General Opinion over said character:
he's quite literally everything to me lol i binged s1-s6 for the first time in like 2016 and then it legit took me two years to go back and rewatch/finish because i was so deeply annoyed that they'd wiped out not only kai but the whole gemini coven that i just stopped caring. (I finally gave in because I wanted to know what happened to Bonnie and boyyy was I even more disappointed)
I just find him to be incredibly compelling and the entire parker family/gemini coven live in my head rent free. the complex dynamics between them, the rules of the coven itself, the idea that maybe there's a curse involved and the siphons represent something bigger with the spirits - it's just all so cool and i wish they'd gone deeper into the lore and finished it properly. which is why i wrote my book lol

I would love a Getting to Know Eddie with your coffee shop blues Eddie. (I’ll let Abi ask for Maroon). 😘
(oh i don’t think i could tell abi much more about maroon eddie than i already have. the space under my desk when im writing maroon literally has her name on it <3)
alright. so. COFFEE SHOP BLUES EDDIE. first and foremost, that eddie is from my purely self indulgent barista!au for those of you who don’t know. for legal reasons, it’s totally not based on true experiences or a very real company. totally not. for legal reasons. but, the entire premise is this eddie entirely untouched from the upside down — non-canon compliance so we can be happy for once baby ! — and just playing around with who he is without all that. he gets the job as a barista, he’s a damn pessimist, and- well, i liked to play around with what would happen if he was the grumpiest barista to ever exist and got reality checked by a sunshine-incarnate barista. and, spoiler alert, the boy would probably melt. he does melt.
my inspiration is drawn entirely from uh… well… can i have a lawyer if i admit this? nah im just kidding he’s based on my own experiences! and contrary to what plenty of people have said to me (if i had a nickel every time said they imagine me as reader i’d be far richer than i am which makes me so 😭), eddie is the character based around me. i think he’d react very similarly to how i do most of the time at work. being grumpy, being so easily inconvenienced by every small thing, always huffing and puffing and wanting to be better. and i think reader is what i’d like to be. at the end of the day, it’s just a nice way to romanticize life, i guess. <3
my favorite headcanon that i’ve never shared in the story is that everyone actually finds that he’s very good at his job. it’s emphasized he isn’t necessarily friends with the other baristas, and there’s a whole lot of him internally comparing himself to the people he thinks do the job better (*cough* reader *cough*), but that whole “i can do better. i have to do better” mentality has led him to being quite good at the job actually. he puts himself down, says he isn’t that good, etc. but he is. customers like that feline grumpiness (the girls that come in regularly for frappucinos in the afternoon are always secretly hoping he’s there, definitely living their ‘i can fix him’ fantasy despite reader already having set sail on that boat), his coworkers admire him albeit they get a lil scared of him due to resting bitch face, and all that. he makes a mean fucking cappuccino. his drinks always just taste better. he’s just good. he’ll never admit it, but damn is he good at his job.
on a casual day, this man is living in comfy clothes. big band tees, plaid pajama pants or sweats. the only time he puts on jeans these days is when he works. which, i mean, listen — he works often. he lives his days by what shift he has, not by days of the week. weekends are nonexistent to him. he’s earned some damn comfort when he’s just at home, ya know? (also, most of his clothes that aren’t graphic tees or comfy pants just stink of coffee these days. ugh.)
his favorite food is probably the cake pops at work. he’s a sweet tooth fiend with them. someone accidentally breaks one when opening the packages? oh no !! he’ll take that off their hands. all of his free food mark outs? 50% cake pops. he’s on food? he’s definitely accidentally bagging and slipping one or two off to the side for himself. sometimes coworkers will try to convince him when he’s on the food position to slip them a free cake pop as well, and every time, he’s flipping them the bird and a quick “steal on your own time, bud”. (unless it’s reader. unless it’s sunshine. then, he’s caving, handing over the birthday cake pop he just marked out for himself without second thought. even if he rolls his eyes as he does it — he’d give her the world if she just asked).
his family situation is pretty close to canon — wayne. and obviously he has hellfire, he has corroded coffin, but all of those are just… small things. he’s finally graduated in this universe, so hellfire doesn’t meet as often. corroded coffin’s members are still in their senior year, so sometimes studying for a calculus test is overriding band practice for them. which i mean, was a bummer and led to him needing a distraction like a part time job (also — money) but it’s all good now, cause he gets to bug Sunshine on his days off when he’s bored. they’ve definitely exchanged numbers, and they’re definitely sending each other an obligatory dumb meme a day. sorry, i don’t make the rules.
he likes pop music. don’t ever ask him about it, he denies it, but Sunshine got him into all those radio hits. he’ll find himself humming along to the radio at work constantly too. and, the one time he and Sunshine worked a very rare, LITERALLY only happened once close together, they definitely were belting out britney spears’ “hit me baby one more time”, dancing around the closed stores and eddie using the mop as a mic while Sunshine tried to stock up all the cups. the shift on duty was unamused, to say the least.
he’s pretty pessimistic in all avenues, but there’s something deep inside of him that’s just a bit hopeless romantic. especially after meeting Sunshine. he listens to her prattle about her romance books all day, and he hates the fact that he finds himself smiling at some of those different scenarios she’s gushing about. but it’s cute, okay? besides, it’s only giving him more ideas about how to wow his favorite barista. sex, on the other hand, he’s still pretty bland on. he’s had one or two one night stands, names he’s forgotten at the Hideout after shows, and he’s not really got the energy to be some sex-crazed fuckboy. listening to his coworkers’ hookup stories and relationship problems work pretty well to remind him he could be doing far worse (but if anyone were to ask him what he thought of Sunshine in that context? oh. oh the poor boy. the scary dog facade fades, and his ears have never been pinker as he’s stuttering about having to grab something from the back that he just stocked. he’s just grateful she never seems to have her own escapades to talk about — he probably wouldn’t survive the world-ending jealousy that would cloud his vision.)
pessimistic. so so pessimistic.
a couple months ago, he would have said his room. alone. or practicing with cc, on his guitar. or behind his dm screens, watching as his little sheep panicked over the latest twist he’s revealed for his current campaign.
but now? maybe he’s just gone soft, but the first place he thinks of is a rainy afternoon in the back of his van, his head in Sunshine’s lap as they listen to the slight drizzle bounce off the roof. he swears if he closes his eyes, he can still feel her fingers against his scalp.
