When I was little, and we had first gotten our dog, it was recommended that we annoy him (so that when children inevitably yanked on an ear or something he didn't go for the throat). I IMMEDIATELY volunteered for the task, and would bother him constantly (mess with his ears, poke his teeth, etc).

This ^ is something we do as a byproduct of the training. I hook a finger around one of his teeth and he'd gently shake. It reminded me of Raph and April for some reason, so I drew it! :D

Danny does not come out of the portal. 

In fact, he’s lost. Very lost. He just wants to go home and is getting scared of everything around him because he doesn’t know what’s going on. But! But he’s found an (admittedly also terrifying) castle or keep or whatever they’re called that all the ghosts avoid!

It never exactly enters his mind that they might have been avoiding such a place for a reason. 

In unrelated news, the first thing Fright Knight sees after his sword was (accidentally) knocked free from its prison is not a blob ghost- they’ve done it a few times over the eternities- but a ghostling. A newborn ghostling, who promptly bursts into tears to his genuine horror. What did he do?!

I want. Four to get appreciation. Because

Four gave a ton of unnoticed help when Twilight was injured

The fight with Wild was difficult, and I know we're all concerned about his negative view of the shadow crystal

But Four did something that no one else really thought of to help- He took care of Twi's stuff

From the beginning he told Twilight to not worry about them

So Four took care of pretty much everything but the others (that Sky and Wars handled)

He took care of Epona

Which is so very important- he took care of Twilight's horse. After her arrival at the stable Four followed up on her

And for Epona, a horse so attached to her human, having some company can help so much for reassurance

He took care of Twilight's stuff

He got Twi's shield- his bags and equipment, and organized it into one place

And he was worried. He obviously found the shadow crystal while handling Twi's stuff, but his negative reactions to it were out of concern.

Also- because of his placement in this scene

I'm fairly convinced Four was ready to start cooking before Wild showed up (since he's beside the counter with food supplies). At the very least he had the basket of fruit out for everyone -but he was literally standing with food behind him- he thought of everything

And he did housekeeping!

Wars payed for the inn, so Four took care of the inn

Realistically these boys were probably not too concerned with tidyness. Four got all of Twi's things on one table, and took care of the room they stayed in

Organizing tables and Twi's things, having food supplies ready, and opening the curtains- overall he was the one tidying up the inn

Four helped in a huge way! He took care of Twi's horse (Epona is so important), his equipment and shield and bag, as well as the other rooms in the inn

Four filled in all the little tasks that others didn't think of. He helped in ways that were needed, but not obvious

There's a lot of problems with the shadow crystal and with Wild, and I don't know what's gonna happen in the future

But don't forget this- don't forget that Four was one who stepped up in an almost unnoticeable way

Don't forget that when everyone was barely holding it together, Four visited Twilight's horse and took care of his things

No matter what develops in the future- this amount of care shown is important ya know?

Daily excerpt from today's writing editing, chapter 105 of Underline the Black:

Flitmouse had made a hole in the nest’s side, which was more like a blanket fort on top of the bed. Efnisien couldn’t see his face in the shadows, but Flitmouse kept his hand out. Efnisien took it and found himself pulled into a cramped space, swallowing at the saliva that entered his mouth at the concentrated scent here. Anton had spent time in these blankets recently, and either he’d spiked his pheromones, or his scent just did this around Flitmouse. But it was too much. ‘Hang on,’ Efnisien said, voice strained. ‘I gotta- I still have to breathe.’ Flitmouse made a questioning noise and then reopened the hole Efnisien had come in through. ‘I’m so sorry.’ ‘It’s fine,’ Efnisien said, gulping down lungfuls of air. ‘I’m fine. Sorry. It’s a pleasant scent. It’s just- I have a response I can’t really control about it.’ ‘Do you have it with Gary?’ Flitmouse sounded fascinated. ‘Yeah,’ Efnisien said. ‘It’s gotten better over time, like my body’s accepted his scent? But if he spikes it badly, I’ll still throw up.’ ‘My goodness, it’s not reassuring at all?’ Efnisien made a sound to the negative, though there were times he liked Gary’s scent. After a few more breaths felt better. He sighed and faced Flitmouse. His face was cast in shadows, the layers of blanket were thick around them. He realised Flitmouse was still holding his hand. ‘What’s been going on?’ Efnisien asked, and hoped it was the right thing to say. The right way to begin. ‘They’re all gone,’ Flitmouse said, his voice breaking. He took a huge, shuddery inhale and moaned it out. ‘They all go. Normally it’s just one at a time, but this time it’s Lucien and Mosk at the same time. I wasn’t even close to Lucien, but they’re all still mine for a short time. And then they- And then they go, and I know it’s good for them, but I hate it so much.’

seeing the love ardbert gets whenever there's a lore drop or whatever warms me down to my very core tbh... in part, it's because after the silm fandom it's nice to not constantly feel on edge about having to defend my choice of blorbos, and also because he suffered so much and has earned every bit of it and AUGH orz having his love for the world and his friends and the wol answered like this!!!

Today at the park my son had his first ever conversation with another child his age (his interactions with other kids have thus far consisted of attempting to pet them like a cat).

The little girl pointed to his shirt, which had a picture of a bunny on it, and said, "Bunny!" He looked down to where she was pointing, smiled, and replied, "Oh! Yes! A bunny!" He then followed her down the slide and they stood around at the bottom clapping their hands for each other.

It was so cute I could have died.
