#very random (not snz) haha but#does anyone else feel like their social battery fluctuates like. 0 to 100 with no middle ground or is this perhaps something wrong with me#i will go for weeks without having the social energy to talk to people i love and treasure 😭#maybe it's a lack of dopamine in general idk... would not be thrilled to add another mental illness to the list#but then i'll have a night where i am super talkative and happily reply to half the people i've been talking to#or times when i send off all my responses and sit at my laptop like when are my friends going to reply 🙂 i can't wait to talk to them 🙂#i apologize if you have personally been on the receiving end of my extreme inconsistency 😭#i have been thinking about it recently and i think that's in part the reason why i also gravitate towards long form conversations;#it feels mentally easier for me to deliver a meaningful response once in a blue moon than like sustain that level of#conversational depth on a more consistent basis? because i am inconsistent#but sometimes in the long wait between responses (which i have arguably played a large role in establishing) i feel unexpectedly social and#then feel strangely lonely 😭 (🤡)... truly i feel like i am lowkey a badly adjusted adult#this is not a catastrophizing post (though i did catastrophize slightly more over it in past weeks); just passive musings atp#i go through similar flows with artistic motivation but the highs and lows are not synced with my social energy at all#i think i am someone who likes to analyze my habits just as a whole because i really enjoy optimizing for things 😭 so this tendency in#particular really perplexes me#delete later perhaps because i know this is truly a yap post. (i apologize)#i met with a friend earlier irl and this might be the remnants of the social energy from seeing her or it might be a function of#the drink i had (strawberry matcha 🥰) if you have read this far i apologize personally

I used to always hide what I like and dislike. never share my opinions. try to align myself with other people to make them happy. try to like what they like or pretend to. but I decided to stop doing that at some point because it was exhausting. it did work for a while. it made people happy and like me more for s short time. but never lasted. especially since I can't keel.up the charade forever. so was kind of pointless in the end....
but then sometimes i remember why I did it. so many times that I don't do it it leads to bad interactions that really affect me negatively. sometimes when I state my opinion or likes/dislikes and it contrasts with someone else, it makes them lash out at me????? they act like i'm trying to personally attack them??? even if i'm not saying it directly to them or it has nothing to do with them?? they get so offended or upset and start lecturing me or getting really angry in my replies or dms. and i'm internally like. can you shut up and leave me alone lmao. but of course I hate conflict and stuff so I go back into "pleasing" mode and try to "explain" and find an explanation that calms them the fuck down because I don't want to deal with their offended asses. they cant accept that I have my own options and preferences and it isnt meant to offend them. and sometimes they'll even try to twist my words to mean something bad in general so they can justify their offense and it makes no sense to me. ugh. leave me alone 😭
#disclaimer: this isnt about anything current. my therapy session today dug up some past memories and i put a bunch together#AND IM REALIZING HOW MUCH THIS HAPPENS. NO ONE WILL LET ME LIVE. LET ME HAVE MY OWN OPTIONS AND FEELINGS AND STUFF STOP BEING OFFENDED!!!!#some of you people are so annoying lmao#by “you people” i mean people in general not necessarily you people on tumblr. just you humans. you humans are annoying#im not human. a plant rat hybrid gremlin. or some weird alien that i cant understand and please you humans. stop expecting anything from me#lee text#lee rants#ignore me i just wanted to yell somewhere about this lmao#words are hard and everyone tries to make me the bad guy and turn me into an enemy.#ITS LIKE YOU PEOPLE KNOW MISUNDERSTANDINGS AND POITNLESS CONFLIC CAUSED BY IT IS MY BIGBEST FEAR AND YOU WANT TO TORTURE ME WITH IT. WTF#you freaks. stop.#😭😭😭😭😭😭😭#*mentally sends to all my past “friends” who did this*#AND ANYONE ELSE READING THIS. DONT DO THIS. LEAVE ME BE!#short story time: i think i lost a friend years ago because i said i dont like the bee movie and that bee x human romance makes me uncomfy#and they left the group chat and ghosted me after that. (i think theyre secretly a bee furry. its all i can think to explain it)

saw a post about projecting your ethnicity onto a character and started missing vespa ilkay. so so bad
#pov u grow up in a 3rd world country(/planet) where healthcare workers are exported by the thousands like cheap produce to richer countries#it's your ticket out of poverty as long as you can deal with the loneliness the separation from everyone you know the discrimination etc#ive never talked about my hc that vespas mother was one of them sending money every month visiting every couple of years until it just stop#like why return to the swamps when youre doing fine working on a richer planet w much better living conditions#cost of living rises every year. sending home a % of your salary used to be enough to support your husband and daughter and then it isnt#you know how it goes#vespa is also dead set on this path until ranga realizes that hemorrhaging healthcare workers leaves them with little to none of their own#students on scholarships or in community/state universities are bound by return service agreements and are forbidden to leave the country#until theyve rendered a few years of work on ranga to pay back their tuition + as a really shitty solution to the brain drain problem#this is real in my country btw but my professors say a lot of ppl do break their rsa's and fucked off to work in other countries LOL#our state unis can barely afford decent facilities they do nottt have the budget to chase down their own alumni in other countries!#but the mental image is a bit funny#vespa ilkays first crime: tinakasan ang rsa#i do also think it lines up with her having a network of med friends everywhere in the galaxy (heart of it all) you kind of go into pre/med#expecting most of your classmates to leave to work in other countries eventually. mine are aiming for the usa / uae / europe / japan etc#anyway whether vespa breaks her rsa or not she leaves ranga asap decides to switch careers and the rest is history#i also deeply love the fact that she's superstitious i'm very sad it wasn't highlighted more (i've only heard s1-3)#as someone who did grow up in a rural area and went to more albularyos/folk healers than doctors in my childhood. (they never failed me)#lots of folk illnesses (ex. balis; pasma) local medical superstitions (dont eat noodles in hospital; youll have a really toxic shift) etcc#theres also a lot of potential in tying her past as a rangian + med student + assassin to me idk how to word this properly#being raised on cautionary tales of not to touch/disturb anything in the swamps then being given free reign to poke & prod at things in her#lab classes (now with the proper ppe)....she was having so much fun with the curemother prime too lmao#years of walking hanging bridges docks boathouses in ranga etc gave her great balance & stealth#cracking open alien shellfish in the swamps to cutting open bodies for studying then for assassination....#I MISS HER SO MUCH BALIK KN SAKEN 😭😭😭😭😭😭#i get why most people + the canon focuses on her being an assassin bc people find that cooler i guess#but vespa being a swamp girl > 3rd world med student > assassin is so personal To Me. the whole pipeline. eugh.#skl.txt

#my mental breakdown this summer was actually completely explainable and while i did/said things i dont stand by#i dont actually think i was the bad guy here. interestingly.#i had to help my mom move and it triggered a huge panic attack bc of past trauma from moving house#and so now my family is saying im going insane#and my friend kept egging me on to ask out his friend#who he and i had developed a really nice friendship but he did kind of like. seem like he was trying to be my personal savior#idk i had a big crush on him bc ofc i fucking did no man has ever treated me that well before#then i jokingly tell him how i feel and he goes all serious#oh and it was four days after the 17th anniversary of my fathers suicide#who i think had bpd/ptsd#so i may be developing the same disorder . and it’s freaking me out#this guy claims he knew i had a crush on him which actually means the way he was talking to me means he was to keep my attention#(he sent a picture of him zoomed in naked hours before this so EXCUSEEE ME FOR ASSUMING)#and i started getting upset with the way i was being talked to and asked him to just say he was talking to me that way for attention#for my own peace of mind. like mind u we were talking every day throughout the day for months#voice calls would last over 5 hours. that kind of thing#i snap at him finally but immediately apologize#he then sends me a screenshot of his ex telling him ‘you have experience in dealing with mentally ill women’#followed by him saying ‘youre right. teehee love you’#so yeah duh i went to the fucking hospital it’s like someone hit me with a hammer in the head three times#then my fucking friend who goaded me into confessing to him tells me when i get out that he feels like im trying to make him choose between#when all i ever did was apologize profusely over and over again#fuck my entire ass man. oh and then two weeks later my best friend abruptly told me she was moving to maine#in two weeks. well no she didnt say that. she said can i stay at yours for a week#and i said um. what? and she said yeah im moving. and then used the fact that she had to get an abortion weeks ago as an excuse for not#telling me. and i said dude what the fuck? and she never talked to me again! so#one two three all gone BAM BAM BAM#oh this was also a week before my birthday#the trauma from moving wasnt actually abt tbe moving it was about how i was treated when we were moving#or basically any stressful family event

yesterday afternoon - after an unsuccessful coffee shop date - you’d decided that dating sucked. it was much too awkward and formal and not at all like it was in the movies, putting too much pressure on the people involved.
last night - after watching shoko flirt her way into free drinks - you’d been tipsy enough to take her advice.
casual sex! it doesn't have to be with a stranger, just pick someone you know. someone you’re sure you won't fall in love with.
this morning you’d woken up to find gojo laying in bed next to you.
you lay shoulder to shoulder with the one person you should not have picked, staring up at the ceiling, waiting for the other person to speak.
“did we really–”
“three times,” satoru confirms happily, rolling onto his side to grin down at you. “i'm surprised we didn't do this sooner, really. our sexual tension has always been off the charts.”
when he leans in to kiss you, his lips meet your palm as your expression wrinkles. “don’t get familiar.”
“we’re naked together in bed– we slept together in more than the literal sense. can’t get more familiar than that.”
“and this never happen again,” you promise, refusing to look at him.
“why? because you’re afraid you’ll fall in love with me? it’s okay to admit it. i'm extremely lovable.”
you’ve seen the way girls fawn over him. how they swoon over his pretty eyes and confident smile. he’s satoru gojo. a legend amongst jujutsu society. you’re no one in comparison, not a user of an otherworldly cursed technique, not from a major clan.
people like him don’t fall for people like you. you’re afraid of rejection, afraid of being hurt.
“we’re friends,” you tell him honestly. “i don’t want to risk ruining our friendship over something like this.”
he tilts his head as your look at him. “shoko told you to try casual sex, didn't she? why not with me?”
“she told you?” you groan, dragging a hand down your face and making a mental note to never ask your roommate for advice for anything ever again.
“hey, look at me,” he urges, grasping your hand. you do as he says, meeting his earnest gaze. “i can be casual and chill, it’s not like i have a huge crush on you or anything.”
it’s so hard to say no to him. you really wish you could.
“i’ll think about it,” you tell him, rolling your eyes when he fist pumps. “but you need to go home before shoko sees you.”
but you’re dealing with satoru gojo, who almost never does what he’s told. “you’re not getting rid of me that easily. come here.”
he winds an arm around you, pulli my you in so you’re snug against his chest. explicit memories of last night flash through your mind, sending heat through your veins.
“i can’t.” you tell him (though you’re mostly reminding yourself.) this is insane— satoru, what are you—”
you’re cut off when he shushes you, whispering let’s sleep in for a little while longer.
he starts to drift off again as you struggle to escape his grasp, but your efforts are futile. even on the throes of sleep, satoru is stronger than you.
so you give up, resigning yourself to a few more minutes of…cuddling. shoko isn’t a morning person anyways.
after a minute, you find it's not entirely awful. it’s a purely physical reaction. gojo is good looking, even with his hair mussed with sleep and his mouth hanging open. because you know that under the softness of his skin lays defined muscle, and spending the morning in his nicely toned arms isn’t the worst thing in the world.
(it’s purely physical, is what your head tries to convince your heart, which is beating a little faster than usual.)
a very soft, content sigh slips past your lips.
then, shoko knocks on your door.
“hey! don’t tell me you’re too hungover for grocery shopping.”
“shit!” you whisper harshly, shoving him away from you. “she cannot see you in here.”
“afraid you’ll have to share?” he teases, narrowly avoiding being hit with a pillow. “okay, okay! where do you want me?”
“closet!” you instruct, scrambling my around the room to make sure none of his clothes are lying around. you thrust them into his hands, pushing him into your closet.
he catches the door before you can close it, smiling down at you. “aren’t you glad we’re doing this?”
you shove him inside, slamming the door shut just ask shoko bursts into the room.
“hey,” you greet, trying your best to appear casual as you lean against the door. your heart beats in your throat, as she squints at you, then lets her gaze sweep across the room.
“did you bring someone home last night?”
“no.”
she looks at you. really looks at you, you think.
“okay,” she finally says, though you can’t tell if she believes you. “i just– i thought i saw you leave with gojo. suguru said you two were flirting all night.”
“gojo and i?” you try to laugh, but it comes out a little strained. “never in a million years.”
shoko only shrugs, and you let yourself relax when she turns to leave…
…only for her to turn around once more, leaning the the doorframe. “well if you really don't like him, just let him down easy, alright? suguru told me he has a huge crush on you.”
wait–
“gojo?”
you hear a sharp inhale through the door.
“yeah,” she nods. “you really couldn't tell?”
gojo…has a crush on you. it takes a few seconds to truly sink in. “i had no idea.”
“of course you didn't. he’s definitely got a really weird way of showing it.”
she turns to leave for real this time, but you wait a couple extra seconds before opening your closet, finding a wide eyed, blushing satoru staring at you.
you can't help but laugh. at his expression, at shoko’s revelation, at this entire situation.
dating sucks, but maybe it won’t be that bad if it’s with him.

Hello! I hope I'm sending requests right, because it's rare that I do these. Could you do a Boom!Sonic going on a date with someone who's an introvert and/or has social anxiety? As someone who struggles with this myself, I'm curious to see how that would go; how he'd figure out why they're so quiet and get them out of their shell a bit. I understand if you can't take this request. If you can take your time, no rush! I hope you have a good day/night!💙
Boom!Sonic going on a date with someone who's an introvert / has social anxiety
(Boom!Sonic x Reader)
The first time meeting Sonic:
You decided to stroll around the village to get to know this new place you will now know better as your home. Then you hear screams. Running towards the sound, you see mechanical bees and crabs attacking a burger joint called “Meh Burgers.”
Ready to fight, you unsheathed your katana and used your power to speed it up. One by one, you sliced a crab swiftly with precision.
“What the..!”
You looked up to see a bald, egg-shaped headed man with a mustache way too big not to be considered comical in a floating machine.
“If it’s not one thing, it’s another. Besides, you’re not even Sonic or his other rodent friends.” The man speaking then put a hand on his chin, thinking. “Or are you? Bah! I can’t remember; who cares anyway. If you want to try and be a hero, you can go ahead and die like one. Attack them!” He pointed towards you.
Looking around, the crabs and bees started surrounding you.
“Not so fast, egghead!” Sonic ran in but then started slipping and looked down. “Ice?” His eyes followed the trail, and it ended with you—someone with a scarf covering half their face and a katana in hand. Before he can do anything, he hears you shout, “Falling snow, adorn my night!”
With a slash in the air with your katana, what looked like a snowstorm surrounded you, leaving you unharmed, unlike the robots that were once surrounding you, now being slashed and beaten around. The storm you created calmed and disappeared once all the robots were destroyed. Unaware that Sonic was stumped in place, he had awe on his face as he was still looking at you.
You just did that all on your own. Sonic has seen other people with powers but hasn’t seen anyone do something quite like what you did.
With a shout of frustration, the man you now knew as Egghead went off, “You’ll pay for that! I hope you’re ready to be paranoid for the rest of your life. Shadows in the corner of your eye, a creak in the floorboard, umm.” He scratches his head, but Sonic spin attacks the eggmobile before he can continue. “Can it already.”
“You just became my new enemy!” Egghead yells as he’s sent flying away.
Once he’s out of sight, you sigh, putting away your katana.
The purpose of going out for a walk was to relax and take a break from spending hours settling into your new home. Not even making it past day one being here, you’ve made an enemy. Granted, you’re confident you can take care of yourself, but just because you know how to fight doesn’t mean you want to go around looking for trouble on purpose.
You tense up when you feel someone tap your shoulder. You turn and see the blue hedgehog that got rid of Egghead. “Those were some sick moves there, and I didn’t even need to step in to help you. Name’s Sonic. And what’s the name of the Ice Prince/Princess.”
In retrospect, you knew off the bat he wasn’t an awful person, and he means well, but your mind shows no mercy. The way he has no problem with direct eye contact with you has you looking anywhere but him. His honest compliment gives a perfect opening to strike up a conversation and possibly make a new friend. Still, experiences of the past haunt you, making you fearful of slipping up and regret saying anything at all. And the way he asked for your name has you panicking. Did Sonic mean to make it sound flirtatious? If he did, that makes the pressure of responding even worse. If he didn’t, you’d feel like an absolute fool and start mentally berating yourself for even thinking of that. What if he called you Ice Prince/Princess because you already came across as a cold individual? You’ve had people tell you that on multiple occasions, more than you would like to admit. Even if he didn’t mean it that way, your mind leads you to these pessimistic thoughts.
He may not think that now, but what if he does later?
You knew you accidentally took too long to respond when you heard Sonic. “Umm. Are you okay?”
Great. Now, he probably thinks that something’s wrong with me.
Panicking, you couldn’t take it anymore.
Sonic is taken aback when suddenly you’re gone, but there is a frozen fog where your feet once stood, running away into an alley.
“Wait!” He tries running after you without stepping on the trail of ice. But then he comes to an intersection where a massive mess of ice and snow is left behind, and the trail has ended. It gave Sonic whiplash how every move you made during the fight looked calculated and confident, ruthless with your attacks, with a steeliness in your eyes. Still, once the fight was over, it was as if you became an entirely different person. Eyes shift anywhere but him, your thumb scratching and rubbing the handle of your blade where your hand was placed, and slight sweat begins forming on your forehead that wasn’t there when you were fighting.
Their powers consist of ice; isn’t that supposed to help with heat? Sonic thought to himself.
Disappointed, he looks around one last time before running off.
You’re grateful for this because not even a moment later, the sneeze you were holding comes out on its own. You knew you couldn't outrun him, so you caused the mess on purpose to make it seem you completely vanished when, in reality, you were hiding behind a dumpster.
How you two become friends:
If Sonic thought it would be a one-time thing, he would have been dead wrong. The few times when there was a moment when it seemed an opponent had the upper hand, you’d show up out of nowhere to help and then disappear. Of course, with this happening, Sonic’s whole gang knew about you now.
Most were convinced you were a good person, just not the best at socializing. Sticks, on the other hand, was still on edge.
But that didn’t stop Amy when she saw you coming out of a store with a bag. She instantly lit up; she and the rest of her friends hardly saw you around when they went… well, anywhere. She had a clue that you probably struggled socially, so maybe she can help you and become friends.
So she walked up to you and said, “Hello there.”
You jumped slightly in surprise before turning around, “Hi.” You felt nerves prick your hands slightly, but it seemed like thanks to the fact that you had an idea of how much of a sweetheart Amy is -as long as you didn’t purposely do or say something rude- you weren’t as skittish around her compared to the day when you first encountered Sonic.
“Thanks for helping me and my friends whenever we’re in a rough situation.”
You shook your head, “It’s no problem.”
They seem nervous yet gentle. Sonic must’ve meant this when he said they’re different when not fighting. Amy thought to herself.
“I’m sorry for always running off.” You carefully chose your following words before Amy beat you to it.
“Interacting with others is hard for you?”
Even though she asked, you can tell it was more of a statement than a question. Some of her warmth and gentleness rubbed off and made it easier to look at her as you nodded.
“How about we become friends, and I’ll slowly introduce you to everyone else?”
You’ve made some friends in the past, but sometimes life happens, and you part ways. You’ve met people in the past who you called friends, but as time passed, you noticed it seemed like they invited you into their already tight-knit group out of pity. And you’ve had people you thought were friends but made you feel small in your life.
However, for some reason, it didn’t feel like Amy was asking you out of pity. You knew she was a good person, and you couldn’t help but feel like once you said yes, there was no way she would let you drift away so easily. So you took the leap of faith and said yes.
The day you were forced to have to face Sonic was an accident. You and Amy were sitting on the couch talking about who she should introduce you to when Sonic just barged in, and his sight landed on you, forgetting what he was initially there for.
“It’s you!” He ran and sat next to you. “Talk about a cold shoulder. You’re hanging out with Amy but don’t have enough time to spare for me? I’m hurt.” He says dramatically, his hands clutching the area where his heart is.
“Sonic.” Amy chides. Annoyed already that things aren’t going the way she hoped. She wanted to talk to her friends about your social anxiety and introvert tendencies before they talk to you.
“It’s fine, Amy.” You assured her. If Sonic is still making jokes with you, then maybe that means he didn’t take you running off multiple times as an offense. “I’m sorry for always running away. I’m not the best at talking to people, so please don’t think it’s something personal.”
Sonic waves you off as he lays back with his arms behind his head and his feet propped up on the table. “It’s fine, I get it. You couldn’t look at or talk to me; you started fidgeting with your sword, sweating, and running away. So that means despite being able to produce ice at will, you just couldn’t stay cool enough not to have the hots for me. Am I right, or am I right?”
You swear you felt yourself malfunctioning at that moment, “What?”
Amy smacked Sonic’s feet off the table so hard he almost fell off from where he was sitting.
“Sonic.” Her tone of warning.
“Yes, I heard you the first time; I don’t have amnesia; I know my name, Amy.”
You thank whatever gods are up there that you wear a scarf.
Sonic helping you out of your comfort zone:
Amy would inform him about what she’s learned from you about your social anxiety. He does like you. Even though he tends to be blunt, rude, and shortsighted about others' feelings, being around you might help him become more considerate of others' emotions.
But he is not perfect, so don’t expect him to be 100% a saint.
Sonic decided to take over introductions as his duty as a hero of the people. Or so he says.
Did Amy agree? No.
Does Sonic care? No.
When the day came, you decided you were ready to meet the next person in their group; Sonic was ecstatic for you to meet his best friend, Tails. He told you to wait home, and he’d bring him over. He did not tell you that they were both coming over on hoverboards.
You couldn’t help but notice how much fun they looked.
“You’re (Y/n), yes? Sonic said you’ll be joining us today.” The fox you assume is Tails comes up next to you with a hoverboard in one arm before handing it over to you.
Before you can say that you don’t know how to ride one, Tails continues, “Don’t think that just because you never knew before means you still can’t learn now. I’ll teach you.”
As silly as it may sound, you can’t help but feel like you just gained a younger brother.
And that’s how Sonic was getting you comfortable with meeting more of his friends, making these outings fun enough for you to forget about society and live in the moment.
The moment he knew he was in love with you:
Shadow was attacking you and your friends. Well, now, only you since he knocked out the rest. Amy already sent a request for backup from Sonic before she passed out. You were doing the best you could to hold out. You can parry some attacks and sense when he teleports, but the problem is his speed. You can cloak yourself into a frozen fog when he runs at you, but he can still get a few hits. You’ve only been able to do more defense moves than offense. You can use your ability to go faster, but it’s not super speed like Sonic.
When you were wondering if you might fail your friends, Sonic arrived. And when the battle was over, you stood in silence for a moment when, for some reason, a giggle left your lips. Which then turned into laughter.
Sonic asked if you were okay when he saw how you looked.
Your scarf had fallen off from your fight with Shadow, showing your face for the first time. Your smile was big yet still held a gentleness like your voice.
And your laughter.
Whenever you laughed before, it was usually just a closed-mouth giggle. The most Sonic could get out of you was when you placed your hand over your scarf where your mouth was to keep yourself from bursting out. But now here you are. Laughing out loud unapologetically without holding back.
You looked beautiful even with a messy hairstyle, dirtied clothes, and bruises. There was a sunset with a chaotic mess of ice surrounding you.
An ice-ability user with a warm heart.
“After everything we’ve been through, I have no idea how we’re still alive; it makes no sense!” You laughed. Your laughter started feeling contagious to Sonic, and he joined in.
How he would confess to you:
As much as Sonic makes it seem like he’s not a sappy person when he puts in the work, he’s exposed as actually being a softy. He wants to make this special, and he does.
You feel drained and desperately need to recharge. You care and love your friends, but if you don’t care for yourself when you feel this way, you start getting irritated and feel a bit snappy. You’ve done a good job holding back from doing or saying anything you know you don’t mean, but it still scares you now and then that it might happen one day. Yes, arguments have happened amongst your friends, but you try your best to be the neutral side.
Saying your goodbyes, you head home. However, once you are away from your friends, Sonic runs beside you. “I made plans today for just the two of us.”
“I’m sorry, Sonic, but I’m not in the mood for anything hectic right now.”
Sonic panicked, “You’re going home to rest up, right? Well, it just so happens that my plans involve both of us just slowing down for once.”
You blinked. “Did I hear that correctly? Sonic T. Hedgehog, ‘the fastest being alive,’ Mr. ‘can’t be tamed,’ Mr. ‘can’t slow down’ has made plans to take it easy for once? Is it the end of the world?” You then poked his shoulder. “Is this secretly Metal Sonic with a new upgrade from Dr. Eggman? A new ploy to let our guard down and destroy everything on Seaside Island?”
“Ha ha, very funny. You know, you’re starting to sound like Sticks,” He took your hand to hold in his and started leading you away. “Don’t underestimate me. I can be unpredictable when I want to be—slowing down? No problem. We’ll start by just walking down to Meh Burgers. No running.”
“I look forward to seeing if you can back up your words.”
“Challenge accepted.”
Sure enough, you and Sonic walked to Meh Burgers hand in hand without running. Before you mentally prepare to speak to the cashier, Sonic says, “You can go ahead and find us a table; I’ll order.”
“Are you sure?”
“It’s not a problem for me.” He waved, reassuring you before he walked away.
You find a table to sit at and wait for Sonic. Unfortunately, your mind starts to take a cynical path. You chose a table that you hoped seemed inconspicuous, but it still doesn’t change the fact that there’s not really a hiding spot in an open area like this.
Did you stand out negatively? Why does it feel like a giant neon light is pointing at you? Is there someone here talking about how weird you stick out? Are some of them pitying you, thinking you’re eating here alone?
Distracted by your overwhelming thoughts, you don’t sense Sonic arriving with the food. “Everybody else is busy in their own world.” You jump slightly, hearing his voice. “If you listen closely, you can hear them talking about something they got going on.” He says as he places down the tray.
When you listen, you hear conversations about visiting family, going to a theatre, and shopping. Your thoughts and emotions slow, and you feel like you can breathe properly. You miss Sonic's gentle smile before he changes the subject to something he knows makes you happy and allows your mind to drift away from negative thoughts.
You and Sonic are walking hands together to the beach. Sonic has seen more than enough sunsets, but this time, he needs it now more than ever to help ease his nerves and confess to you.
Sitting down, you noticed that something was off with him, but instead of asking immediately, you decided to watch the sunset and wait awhile for him to hopefully feel comfortable enough to talk about it—emphasis on hopefully.
He takes a breath before taking out a Starfruit, “Do you want to share?”
Others may think it's a small gesture; however, you recall reading a story and telling Sonic about a scene where a character mentions that if two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. They will remain a part of each other's lives no matter what.
Your heartbeat quickens, and your face warms up, but not because of anxiety.
He knew you needed to rest and recharge, so the fastest person alive slowed down for you. He also knew how nice-looking restaurants make you paranoid about whether you're overdressed or underdressed and whether you're showing proper etiquette, so he took you to a burger joint. He knows how you rehearse every interaction with a cashier multiple times in your head so you don't screw up and make a fool out of yourself, so he went and did it for you. He noticed that your mind had taken over and nearly drowned you with your thoughts, and he helped pull you out. And right now, in this moment, he remembered a small detail in a story you’ve only talked about once.
“I’m not the best at talking about my feelings, but I hope you know what I’m trying to say.”
For once, without a doubt, you hold Sonic’s free hand by the wrist to gently pull it towards you and use an index finger to draw a heart.
Sonic lets out a breath of relief before whispering, “That’s good.” He had a big smile on his face.

Hello 👋 can I get a little body switcheru with twist dorm liders and Yuu? Even better if we'd have F!Yuu in this one ❤️!
I don't think I'll be doing all the dorm leaders right now but just a few 🖤🖤🖤
Body Switch | Yandere Twisted Wonderland
What a gift! To see precisely what your obsession sees, to touch with their perfect hand, to hear their lovely voice whenever they opened their mouth. Oh, the possibilities are endless! No matter the circumstance this is the stuff of dreams nightmares:
Vil Schoenheit
“OH SEVENS!”
Is at first horrified at the feeling of not being in his perfectly preened body
In his clean and not dingy home
But it diminishes when he realizes the one screaming in the dirty mirror is you
His precious love
“Ergh these black heads are insane. My potato has been neglecting their routine. That’ll be good to make a note of.”
He immediately gets to work
He has to make the next 24 hours in his dearest’s body count
and he’s got so much to do and such little time
Immediately he inspects your home and makes a note of everything that’s lacking in Ramshackle
Perfect ammunition for his proposal to move to Pomefiore
Next he reads your diary or journal if you have one
And he dives into your photos and makes a mental note to send more headshots to you
Next he goes to Rook
“We have less than 12 hours before I return, get your camera.”
Already planned and prepared the photos are perfection
Next he takes your measurements
Both for clothes and for ropes and fluffy cuffs
He debates deleting your friends from your contacts
But he’s not petty he is he’ll just send a text or two with passive aggressive undertones
And when he’s got close to an hour
He takes the time to…examine your every inch …careful to not leave a mess behind
“So…soft and round…they will look glorious in couture.”
Idia Shroud
“Eeek! It worked!”
Spends nearly an hour squealing and jumping around
But then he goes to the mirror and starts his fantasy
Using your lips to confess an undying love to Idia Shroud
He records it and everything
Next he goes to his room, already set up to allow a very specific code
He goes to his dorm
Everything is going perfectly to plan
Next he plans to dress you in the cosplay he already has your measurements for
“Yes! Now I just have to take this o-o-off! Ack! T-their s-skin! No! I can’t e-e-even if I’ve s-seen it through the camra it is so different!”
He genuinely can’t make it past your shirt
Too embarrassed and caught up in simply seeing all your skin
So instead he’ll move onto the next objective
Going to the pick up spot he’d already designated
Riding calmly as your taken to some unknown artificial island
“Hehehe well at least one objective was completed…let’s just say that other one isn’t one of my skill levels just yet. Hehehe I’ll have more than enough time to level up though!”
Malleus Draconia
Someone or you must have said that little expression
“Try walking in my shoes! Its really inconvenient when you scare everyone away from me!”
“In your shoes?”
So he tries it
Having your body become his own, allowing a day without his, in your words: overpowered bod
Oh is he warm
So warm he feels like your constantly hugging him
Its immaculate
Than he spends a good while just admiring you in the mirror
More than happy to study every pore of your skin in great detail
“Oh I did not realize their birth mark was this adorable.”
But he’ll soon find your legs ache so easily
Why can’t he stand straight for seven hours without your knees getting wobbly
Or how defenseless you are
With nothing but his tiny wisps if his own magic to sense
Its kind of horrifying
But as agreed he tries to go throughout the day as you
Enjoying the attention of all your friends
Granted they send weird looks when he says something odd
But you’ve already employed Grim as ‘his wingman’
Who frantically tries to get him through the day
He learns so much ‘by being in your shoes’
“I do not appreciate everyone having such careless interactions with you, especially when the amount of muscle let alone magic is…concerning.”

Before someone sends a pipe bomb to my house, is it really that horrible and controversial to say that Jimmy was just as much of a victim failed by the same disgusting system as everyone else? While support from loved ones is important, he needed actual resources. We don’t know anything about him beyond that he was struggling, so all we can assume is that he couldn’t hold down a job that was definitely due to his severe mental health issues. There’s nothing wrong with being an advocate for a friend, but it’s incredibly irresponsible to put someone you know is unstable into a literal inescapable environment for MONTHS with people who don’t know what they’re getting into and ripping him away from the possibility of actual helpful resources like intense therapy, psychiatric counseling, and rehabilitation. This man needed to be surrounded by professional and community support systems, not a friend who dismisses everything he does because how is that productive at all? So many people are avoiding this conversation because they believe they’re dismissing what he did by being empathetic in that way and it drives me up the fucking wall.
Although I’m not an obsessive, violent, sociopathic narcissist, it’s painful just dealing with being bipolar, past suicidal deviation, and comparing myself to my best friends who have accomplished way more than me while I’ve been struggling to fill out even one job application. The capitalist system we live in grinds us down to our bones that if we can’t climb up the social ladder, that if we can’t pick ourselves up from our lowest alone, we aren’t worth shit and are weak—which leads to people like Jimmy lashing out on everything and everyone to gain some sense of superiority.
As someone who is extremely passionate about how capitalism has completely obliterated what it means to be in a caring community because of its intrinsic suffocating individualism, its exploitation of the lower class, and how we are chained down to an unforgiving inherent debt for our whole lives, I just find it childish that so many people avoid thinking about this aspect of his character or completely override him from the story all together.
As much as I LOATH him, I can’t help but wonder what could’ve happened if he did get the help he needed before Curly roped him into PE. While it unfortunately blew up in Anya and Curly’s face because they were taken advantage of, is it that fucking horrible to believe that someone can grow and change if given the chance (as long as they obviously don’t hurt you in the process)? It’s the same reason why the prison system—especially the American prison industrial complex—should be abolished because how the fuck is locking someone up for the rest of their lives going to do anything for anybody in the long run? Obviously he needed to be brought to legal justice, but I believe that we should start at the core of why he is the way he is, what will be effective for everybody in the long run, and the possibility of him being reintroduced into society once he gets his mf shit together before people start pulling him this way and that (with boundaries ofc.) I’m a victim of sexual assault and emotional abuse myself, but I don’t want that person to rot behind bars. I just want to heal and move on. I don’t want revenge, I want closure. I want to be able to face that person and know that they won’t hurt anybody else if I am to believe that I myself can grow beyond what happened.
I know that many other creators have expressed the same sentiments already, but I needed to get that off my chest too.
Anyways, this game means so much to me because it touches on societal issues that I care about. Fuck capitalism and may everyone be free from this hell.

silent treatment - george clarke~
synopsis: george leaves y/n wondering what their relationship is, a brief encounter between them gives him the chance to clarify.
notes: noticing i clearly love a cheeky fwb plot 😭 i promise i have other plots stored in the drafts (also the fact this was not the george fic i was talking about in my previous post loool expect that one eventually)
requests are also open!
warnings: slightly mature & angsty, mentions of alcohol
word count: ~2.9k
masterlist
y/n found herself mindlessly checking her notifications yet again. as expected, there was nothing new. stop it, pull yourself together, she mentally cursed herself - never in a million years did she think a man could have this effect on her. usually she was fairly good at moving on, independence had always been her thing, but this time it was definitely different and she didn't know why. quite frankly it was scary, although she did feel like this unexplored territory was equally exciting as it was terrifying. over the past week y/n had been unable to shake him from her mind, flashes of their time spent together plague her mind - the way his hands felt on her body, the look in his eyes before he kissed her, the way he tasted. memories like those couldn't simply go away, nor did she really want them to.
"you're just being pathetic now," she said aloud to herself, "and now you're talking to yourself like a crazy person." y/n knew she needed to get out and get her mind off him, which once again, she did think was a little pathetic - it's not like she was going through a break up or anything nearly as painful as she was making it out to be. she shook away her thoughts and pulled out her phone, this time ignoring all of her notifications, and any thoughts of george, and opened a group chat of her closest girlfriends.
is anyone down to come out for drinks tonight?
she hit send on the message and waited, realistically she knew her friends were always raring to come out so their replies wouldn't be anything she didn't already know. more often than not they were the ones to drag y/n out for some fresh air. sure enough after a few minutes most of them had replied with a series of excited agreements.
the evening came around quickly. luckily y/n had already raided her entire wardrobe earlier in the day in a bid to distract herself, so her outfit was ready along with the right shoes to match. she had even gone as far as scouring pinterest for a few makeup looks that would compliment the colours of her outfit.
//
living near the centre of london had both its pros and cons but right now, y/n was just thankful that her walk to the chosen bar was only very short. as she stood in front of the establishment nerves crept up inside her. what even was there to be nervous about? it was just another evening out with her friends, people she had known forever. moreover, she had been to this exact bar several times, hell she could probably even name the regulars at this point. "sorry, excuse me," a low voice came from behind her, causing her to jump to the side. "sorry," she mumbled, glancing at the man who appeared to be carrying far more cocktails than his hands could comfortably allow. the night was getting cooler now and she anticipated her friends were probably waiting for her inside and had been for some time, either that or they were watching the whole ordeal from the window and would laugh at her later. you'll feel better once you get inside, y/n told herself and with that, she turned and walked briskly to the entrance.
her friends were not hard to find, despite not even being drunk yet they managed to be some of the loudest people in the room. y/n smiled at the sounds of their chattering and squeezed through the hoards of people swarming the bar to reach their table and sat down with them. for the first time in a week, she finally felt at ease, like she could fully loosen up with no worries.
//
"can you get me another vodka coke please?" y/n's friend pleaded for the third time, drawing out the 'e'. "god you do whinge," y/n rolled her eyes playfully, "but i will, only if you promise to shut up." the group laughed, a little too hard - at that moment y/n could confirm she was the most sober there. however, it was out of self preservation. she knew in the morning everything would come flooding back to her and she didn't fancy wallowing in her own pity with a headache. the bar was quite empty, y/n thought, especially in comparison to how it had been earlier, but that was definitely because everyone else was too drunk to not be up dancing. she was honestly grateful there was a clear path towards a bartender who didn't appear to be serving anyone.
"hi, could i get a vodka coke please?" she asked the bartender, who she could now see was mopping up a puddle of what was probably various alcohols. "sure, just give me one sec." the bartender smiled and continued soaking the puddle up. "no problem," y/n shot him a warm smile and leant against the bar, watching intently. judging by the sheer volume of liquid she didn't anticipate 'one sec' would be anything remotely close to one second.
"excuse me mate," y/n was ripped from her thoughts by an uncomfortably familiar voice, one that she simultaneously craved hearing and never wanted to hear again. she snapped her head around to the opposite end of the bar, where she spotted him. george was stood, trying to get the attention of another bartender who was busy shelving some bottles. she wasn't sure if this was some kind of sick joke, the one person she was trying to get away from had somehow magically appeared in front of her. if there was a god, she was sure he was punishing her. naturally, her bartender was still busy with the puddle - a puddle that was barely even visible now. why he couldn't leave the droplets for a moment and serve her, y/n didn't understand. she couldn't wait to get away from the bar and he wouldn't be able to conjure the drink up in a split second. to be honest, she wasn't even sure she cared to return to her table with the drink.
y/n couldn't help but steal another glance at george. he was still just as attractive, if not more attractive than she remembered. the way his biceps flexed as he rested his arms on the edge of the bar, his perfect smile as he thanked the bartender for the drink... y/n knew she should tear her eyes away from him but she just couldn't do it. she was weak and not even sorry about it.
her eyes widened as she realised not only was george staring dead at her, he was also drawing closer to her. everything inside her was telling her to run away, run away from this man who didn't even have the decency to reply to her messages, run away from this man who gave her such mixed signals she didn't even know if he loved or hated her. yet her feet seemed unable to budge, the alarm bells ringing in her head were not enough to sway her heart.
"if your mouth opens any wider, you'll dislocate your jaw," george chuckles, placing his drink down at the bar. "that's hilarious," y/n says in the flattest, most sarcastic tone she could manage. "what?" george quirks an eyebrow at her in genuine confusion, standing up and moving closer to her. "i said-" y/n began but abruptly stopped as george placed his hands on her hips and guided her towards the door.
"what are you doing?" y/n swore her heart stopped, how could the same man that had been ghosting her be so comfortable with touching her like that? did he not feel any shame? in a matter of moments, a rush of cold air washed over y/n as george led her out of the threshold of the bar, and it wasn't unpleasant. "the music was too loud, i couldn't hear anything you were saying," he said, walking over to some seating and gesturing for her to join him. y/n followed him and took a seat opposite him but stayed silent, she wasn't sure she wanted to speak to him, nor did she even know what to say.
"what brings you to the bar?" george asks, trying to alleviate some of the awkwardness. he genuinely did want to talk to y/n but wasn't sure how or what to say to her, so settling on a generic question like that seemed to be his best bet. "avoiding you actually," y/n almost laughs at the situation, she was also very aware that inside the bar there would be a confused bartender likely with a vodka coke ready for absolutely no one to receive, "but it seems you just appear and disappear as you please." now it was george that stayed silent for a moment, "i deserved that."
"too right, now if you'll excuse me, i have a drink waiting for me inside," y/n stands up to leave, she was not in the mood for this conversation. if george could easily ignore her for days on end then her leaving one conversation for another day would be more than reasonable. "wait y/n-" george stands up quickly and grabs her arm, "can you please hear me out?" genuine hurt could be heard in his voice, for a second y/n thought about just jumping into his arms and telling him she forgave him. that thought was only fleeting though, she decided to retain her dignity and just listen to what he had to say instead. this is for me, not him, she affirmed in her mind before turning back towards him, "fine."
"this might sound really stupid," george starts, "but it's true and i can't believe i am even about to say it." y/n nods hesitantly, she wasn't sure how he could make himself seem any more stupid. "i guess i'm not used to feeling this way, like," he pauses, "properly in love." y/n was dumbfounded, she opened her mouth to speak but no words would dare come out. "i got scared and tried to hide. and in the process hurt you," george looks at her with sad eyes, pleading her to say something. "what you're saying is that you couldn't reply because you love me? like love love me?" y/n could no longer hide her shock, in fact she was beginning to question if this was even actually happening. "i guess so?" george scratches the back of his neck nervously, "look, i'm sorry. i didn't intend to ghost you, i just didn't want to scare you by coming off too strong." he moves closer and tucks a stray strand of her hair behind her ear, "you're the first person i have been fully serious about." silence hung over them, y/n really did think for a second that she was going to pass out.
"i don't know if you are believing me," george sighs, defeated. "please say something." y/n tried to find her words, too much had just happened and she needed a moment to process it. the truth is she did believe him, she knew deep down all along that he was a good guy. "prove it." y/n says with a grin, "prove that you're as serious as you say you are." george raises an eyebrow at her sudden change of tone, "are you sure you can handle it?" a cocky smile forming on his face. "absolutely," y/n giggles, "do your worst."
without wasting another moment, george presses his lips to hers harshly. the kiss was hungry and desperate, like he had waited entirely too long to taste her again and he needed it. his tongue slips into her mouth, savouring every inch of it. this kiss was different, before they had been lustful, open mouthed, sloppy kisses - the kind that happened in the heat of the moment - but this kiss was so slow and so sensual and y/n could feel george pouring so much love into it that she felt it would be impossible to break apart from him.
george pulls away first to catch his breath. "is that enough proof?" he smirks, looking at her with blown out pupils, slightly swollen lips and pink dusting his cheeks. "i'm not sure, i might need a second one to confirm," y/n smiles cheekily, george rolls his eyes but bends down to lightly peck her on the lips. "there is more where that came from by the way," he laughs, "this just isn't the ideal setting."
"hopefully we can do this again sometime," she wiggles her eyebrows at him and laughs, "but we should really get inside, it's freezing," y/n ushers him back towards the entrance, "and i was supposed be back at my table with my friend's drink probably like half an hour ago." george's eyes widened, "oh god. she'll think you died en route or something!" truthfully, y/n was hardly worried about that, she knew her friends could be dramatic when they were drunk but she strongly doubted they were about to file a missing persons report or anything of the sort. "i'll just act naturally don't worry." she grins, "i'm good at that."
"yeah sure, really natural of you to spend an excessive amount of time staring at me from across the bar and then freeze up the second i moved towards you." george returns the grin, "seriously, i could literally feel your eyes boring into my skull."
"so dramatic, i did not stare that hard!" y/n gave him a light slap on the arm, she was in fact completely aware that that was exactly what happened, but she definitely didn't realise she had been that obvious. "whatever you say sweetheart," george opens the door for her and they step inside. y/n glances at the bar, the bartender hadn't made her drink but she hadn't expected him to, after all she had disappeared for a while. "stay right here, i'm going to order the drink again and go back to my friends for a bit." george simply nodded and took a seat at the bar once more, y/n opted to ask the other bartender for the drink this time (the one george had been talking to) - she thought it might be too awkward to ask the original one again.
drink in hand, she made her way back to their table, much more easily than when she first arrived. most people had begun to go outside to cool off so it wasn't nearly as packed in the booths where they were situated. "there you go." y/n pushed the drink towards the girl who had asked for it. "did you get lost on the way?" her friend giggles, slightly slurring her words. i'm sure she had a steady flow of drinks coming her way even without the one i ordered, y/n sighs, how was she going to explain this? it would've been even harder to explain her absence had she spent extra time outside mulling over what excuse to tell them but the lack of forethought also left her in a sticky situation. "you don't need to answer!" another of her friends grins almost evilly, "we can tell exactly what happened." y/n could feel her cheeks heating up, "what do you mean?" she answered, admittedly in a shakier voice than she was hoping for. without another word, the girl thrust her phone up at y/n's face with the camera open. "see?" she folded her arms and sat back in satisfaction.
"oh." y/n found that was the only word she was capable of uttering in that moment. her kiss with george had managed to smear her lip gloss and some of her lipstick around her lips in such a drastic way that it was painfully obvious what they had been doing. "for god's sake!" y/n quickly returned the phone and started in the direction of the bar where george, she assumed, would still be waiting for her.
"you didn't think to tell me about this?!" she hissed, gesturing broadly to her lips. george could only laugh, it had been only dimly lit outside of the bar so he wouldn't have been able to tell and y/n had taken off so abruptly with the drink that he hadn't even had a chance to fit a word in. "at least everyone knows now." george shrugs and gently holding her face and pressing the pad of his thumb over her lips, gently wiping away excess lip gloss (not much could be done about the coloured streaks of lipstick, at least not without a makeup wipe). y/n rolls her eyes, it was impossible to stay mad at him. "so much for twenty four hour ultra long wear lipstick," she grumbles. "shhh, i can't clean it up if you keep talking," george chuckles, giving her lips one final wipe, "there. all done."
"thank you," she smiles brightly, "i won't be buying this lipstick again that's for sure."
"you know," george pauses, "it would really be a shame if someone were to mess it up again,"
"save that for later!" y/n grins, giving him a kiss on the cheek instead before turning to go back to her friends. she could hear george protesting as she walked away, smiling to herself. this time she knew she would absolutely be hearing from him later.

Could you do a Leah smut based on the song casual by Chappell Roan
Casual | Leah Williamson
Warning SMUT 18+, toxic relationship, praise kink
Summary Leah wants to keep your relationship casual, resulting in consequences
“I don’t get why you’re still going out with her. You know what she’s like. You’ve heard the rumours of all her previous girls. She just used them. It’s like she can’t love anyone.” Your friend, Emma, told you as you sat down at the table to have lunch.
It was true. Leah’s reputation was well known throughout your school.
You’d known Leah all throughout your schooling.
Going to primary school with her, and then going to secondary school with her and then eventually going to sixth form with her.
You and her would always say hi to each other. You wouldn’t go as far as saying you were friends with her, but would respectfully smile at one another.
Until you found out the truth about her.
It wasn’t anything bad. That’s what you thought until you experienced it yourself.
Leah had a problem. She couldn’t love anyone.
She’d take girls home, either from school, or teammates, sleep with them, act like she loved them, and then tell them it was just a casual thing.
You had heard story after story about this.
Yet, somehow, all you saw was small Leah playing football when she was six years old.
You think that’s how it led you to being one of those girls.
You couldn’t see Leah for who she really was.
You thought that maybe she could fall in love with you.
And so when Leah and you kissed after celebrating the win of one of her matches, it started to become a regular thing and you fell in love with her.
You’d always remember that lunch spent with Emma.
The last words she said to you during lunch, was that you were a loser that you couldn’t see who leah really was.
————————
“Y/N, look, I told some of my friends about what happened and they promised not to tell anyone. I’m sorry.” Leah apologised for all the rumours going around.
“Leah, I trusted you not to tell anyone about what happened.”
What happened. What happened was that you slept with Leah.
It wasn’t planned. It wasn’t planned at all.
You didn’t want to sleep with her until you knew you weren’t one of those girls, but somehow it did.
It all came back to you looking at Leah like she was still the same girl she was all them years ago.
In a way, you regretted what happened.
As you were leaving Leah’s house that night, she said something that you’d never forget.
Let’s keep this casual, okay?
You nodded and walked away, mentally cursing yourself for falling in love with her.
You really were one of them girls.
And to top it off, you were known as the girl who Leah fucks for fun.
————————
You couldn’t help yourself.
You were addicted to Leah.
You were addicted to her smile, the smirk she’d give you when you walked past her, the smell of her, just everything about her.
That’s what led you to you laying in her bed sheets, out of breath.
She collapsed next to you, using the bed sheets to cover herself.
“That was… wow.” You said, your mind still somewhere else.
“I know I’m just too good, aren’t I?” Leah replied to your comment, a huge smirk taking over her face.
“Don’t get cocky, Williamson.”
“Remember, no attachments, alright baby?”
“Yeah. No attachments.” You said back. You would be lying through your teeth if you said you agreed with her.
After all, you already were attached to her. You had been for a while.
————————
“Fuck, Le.” You moaned as her tongue worked wonders on your clit.
“You taste so good.” Leah groaned into your pussy, sending vibrations to run through your body.
“What if someone sees, le?” You questioned, your breath uneven.
You were currently sat in a car park in Leah’s car whilst she ate you out in the passenger seat.
“Let them see. Let them see how you’re being a good girl for me. Let them hear you scream my name.”
“Shit. Leah, right there. God, please don’t stop.” You screamed as the coil in your stomach tightened.
“Fuck. I love it when you moan my name. Say it again.”
“Le, ‘m gonna cum. Fuck.” You grabbed the car door with one hand, your other flying to Leah’s hair as your eyes rolled to the back of your head.
You felt Leah smirk into your pussy as she licked it clean.
Leah climbed back into the drivers seat, resting a hand on your thigh.
She pulled off and out of the car park as if nothing had happened.
“Le, this is still casual, right?” You asked her, just trying to see where your relationship stood, and she frowned at your question.
“Of course it is. Why wouldn’t it be?”
————————
When Leah approached you a few days later and explained that her mum had invited you for dinner at a restaurant, you couldn’t say no.
The fact that Leah had spoken to her mum about you and so much that she’d invited you for dinner made a ray of hope appear.
The dinner had gone okay. Perfect even.
Amanda and David were so nice.
The nerves you felt disappeared as soon as Amanda pulled you into a tight hug.
As you were sat down waiting for your meals to arrive, you kept getting distracted from the conversation.
Amanda and David were talking about Leah’s brother, Jacob, who lived in Australia, but with Leah’s hand travelling its way up your thigh, you couldn’t concentrate.
You put your hand on Leah’s hand, pulling it away and dropping it back in her lap, but not even five minutes later, you felt it on your thigh again, this time even higher up.
“Mum, can I quickly speak to Y/N?” Leah asked and stood up as soon as Amanda nodded, confusion written on her face, identical to yours.
Leah took your hand and dragged you through the restaurant towards the bathroom.
As soon as she pushed open the door, she locked the door and pushed you against it.
“You’re gonna be my good girl and be quiet okay.” Leah’s voice whispered in your ear and she started to suck on your neck.
“Leah, fuck, that feels so good.”
Leah’s hands made their way to the hem of your trousers, sliding them down your legs.
“You’re gonna take my fingers, okay, baby.” Leah said and you whimpered in response, your core already clenching.
“Please, le.”
You couldn’t believe you were in this situation again.
After the events in Leah’s car, you promised your self you wouldn’t let this happen again, but here you were with Leah in the bathroom of a restaurant where you were supposed to be having dinner with her parents.
As Leah still attacked your neck, her fingers pushed your underwear to the side and she stuck one finger into you.
Your head fell onto her shoulder and you moaned into it to stop the rest of the restaurant from hearing.
Leah added a second a finger and began pumping in and out.
“Fuck, Leah, right there.”
Leah’s fingers continued to hit the same spot over and over again, making you bite into her shoulder to stop you from moaning.
“You feel so right around my fingers, babe. You’re gonna cum for me, aren’t you?” Leah asked and you nodded your head against her shoulder. “Good. Be a good girl and cum for me.”
“Le, ‘m so close. I’m gonna cum.”
The feel of Leah’s fingers in you, the huskiness in her voice and the sight of Leah’s biceps made you tumble over the edge far too quickly.
You rolled your head back against the door and wrapped your hand around your mouth to stop yourself from being caught.
Leah pressed a final kiss to you neck, soothing the marks she’d just left.
She helped pull your trousers back up and wiped the sweat that had gathered on your forehead.
“Now, we’re going to go out there and you’re gonna act like my girlfriend, understood?”
That sentence broke you.
Act. You were going to have to go out there and act like Leah’s girlfriend.
You simply nodded your head, not knowing what to say or do.
You returned to the table, sending a weak smile to David and Amanda.
The rest of dinner was quiet, you barely saying a word. And the words you did say, were mumbled to stop you from crying.
You didn’t want to act like you were Leah’s, you wanted to be Leah’s but Leah could only love casually.
All her relationships were casual, including yours.
“Y/N, are you okay? You’ve seemed quiet the last half hour.” Amanda questioned, purely to see if you were okay.
“Yeah, I’m…actually, no I’m not fine. I’ve had enough of this. I’ve had enough of acting. I want someone who actually loves me. I want a relationship with someone that’s not casual. I can’t believe I’ve let it go on for this long. I hate that I let this drag on so long. You can go to hell Leah. I hate you for doing this to me. You let me fall in love with you and then you tell me it’s all an act. Go to fucking hell.”
You marched out of the restaurant, not a care in the world that the whole restaurant had eyes on you.
Tears streamed down your face as you got into your car. You screamed in anger.
You should have listened to Emma. You should have known that it would end this way.
After all, Leah wasn’t that same seven year old girl you once knew, she had changed.
That seven year old girl knew how to love people, this Leah, didn’t.
Everything she did, including her relationships, were casual.

caught in the wind
WARNING: Suicidal thoughts, mental health struggles, suicide attempt
PAIRING: Sonic The Hedgehog x Suicidal! Reader
NOTE: I hope this was helpful for you. I sincerely hope everything is okay and I want you all to know that I care for all of you and that I am always here to talk. Take care of yourself. I know how it feels so I didn’t try sugarcoating it and made it as realistic as I could.
SUMMARY: While out on a run, Sonic spots something unsettling—one of his closest friends standing at the edge of a cliff, contemplating a jump.
The wind rushed past Sonic’s ears as he dashed through Green Hill, the familiar blur of trees, loops, and waterfalls passing in his peripheral. It was one of those days where everything felt a little lighter—perfect weather, nothing chasing him, and no Eggman in sight. It was just him, the wind, and the thrill of the open road.
As he zipped along the cliffs that bordered the coastline, something odd caught his eye. At first, he dismissed it—just a figure standing at the edge of the rocks, back turned to the world. But something in the way they were standing—rigid, unmoving, staring down into the water below—made his heart skip a beat.
Wait. He knew that silhouette.
Sonic skidded to a halt, sending a puff of dust into the air. He rubbed his eyes with his gloved hands, making sure he wasn’t seeing things. But no, it really was you, Y/N, his friend. And you weren’t just looking out over the ocean for the view. No, something about your posture, the way your shoulders slumped, the way you didn’t seem to notice him approaching, sent alarm bells ringing in his head.
Sonic frowned, shifting his weight from foot to foot. He knew you’d been going through a rough patch lately, but…was it really that bad..? He prayed and hoped you were just admiring the view.
"Hey!" Sonic called, voice casual but firm. "Whatcha doing up there? Pretty cool view, huh?"
No answer.
His heart rate sped up, unease prickling at the back of his neck. Slowly, he started walking toward you, his steps uncharacteristically slow. Sonic never slowed down—he always kept moving, but something in the air made him tread carefully.
As he got closer, he could hear your soft breaths, shaky and uneven, like you were trying to hold something back.
"Hey, you okay?" Sonic asked, his voice softer now, more serious.
Still nothing.
That’s when you moved.
Without a word, you leaned forward—so fast, too fast—and before Sonic could even process what was happening, you jumped.
His instincts kicked in before his brain could. In a split second, Sonic launched himself off the cliff, wind roaring in his ears, reaching out with everything he had. Time seemed to slow down, and all he could hear was the rush of his own heartbeat, the thunder of the ocean beneath the two of you, and the desperate pounding in his chest.
Faster. He had to go faster.
Just as you were about to touchdown, Sonic’s arms reached out, wrapping around you in mid-air, his grip tight and unwavering. With a grunt of effort, he twisted his body, redirecting your fall, and landed hard on a ledge just below the cliff, skidding to a stop against the rough rock.
You trembled in his arms, silent sobs shaking your body. Sonic held you tightly, trying to steady his own racing heartbeat.
"Gotcha," he breathed, his voice barely audible over the sound of the crashing waves below. "I’ve gotcha…"
For a moment, neither of you spoke. Sonic just held you, feeling the way your chest heaved with each ragged breath, the way you curled in on yourself as if trying to disappear.
"What were you thinking..?" Sonic’s voice cracked, and he winced at how small it sounded. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be. He was supposed to be the fast one, the one who always had a plan, always knew what to say. But right now, he felt as lost as you did.
You shook your head, tears streaking down your face. "I-I don’t know…I just…I couldn’t…"
Sonic felt a knot form in his throat, and he tightened his grip, making sure you knew he was there, that he wasn’t letting go.
"Look, I don’t know what’s going on in your head right now," Sonic said, his voice steadying. "But I do know one thing: I’m not letting you go. You’re not doing this alone, okay? I’m here. We’re all here. And we’re gonna figure this out."
You sobbed harder, your fists clutching the fabric of Sonic’s gloves as if he were the only thing tethering you to the world.
"You’re not alone," Sonic repeated, his voice soft but firm. "You’ve got me. You’ve got everyone who cares about you. I know things look bad right now, but trust me, we’ll make it through this. You’ll make it through this."
Slowly, your sobs began to quiet, though the weight of your pain still hung in the air like a storm cloud. But you hadn’t let go of Sonic. And he wasn’t about to let go of you.
Sonic sighed, glancing up at the cliff. He’d have to figure out how to climb back up, but that could wait.
For now, he was just grateful he’d been there in time.
A few days after the incident, the weight of it hasn’t left your chest. If anything, the guilt has only gotten worse. Every time you close your eyes, you feel that awful drop in your stomach again—the moment you jumped, the moment you gave up. And then Sonic’s arms, pulling you back, holding on like his life depended on it, when it was yours that was on the line.
You’re sitting in your room now, staring at the floor. The blankets are piled up on your bed, untouched, and the gifts Sonic’s been bringing lie scattered around—plushies, snacks, even some weird gadgets he thought might cheer you up. But none of it really matters. The shame sits heavy in your gut, a constant reminder that you nearly threw everything away. That you almost made Sonic witness something unforgivable.
You didn’t tell anyone. You couldn’t. And, surprisingly, Sonic hasn’t either. You had made him promise that day, and he didn’t even hesitate. “I won’t tell a soul,” he had said, his tone serious in a way that made you believe him instantly.
But the price for that silence is the weight of knowing what you did. And Sonic’s visits—while comforting—only seem to make you feel worse. He shows up almost every day, pretending like nothing’s wrong, acting like his usual upbeat self. He’ll burst into your room with a grin, tossing some random gift onto your bed like he’s just come back from one of his adventures.
“Hey! Got you something else!” he’d say, as if that could somehow fix the cracks in your soul.
You know he means well. He’s trying. But every time you see that bright smile, it’s like a reminder that you’re letting him down. That he’s doing everything he can to pull you out of this pit, and you’re still stuck at the bottom, too ashamed to climb up.
Today’s no different. The sun is barely past noon when you hear the familiar tap-tap-tap on your window. You don’t look up. You don’t need to. You already know it’s him.
“Mind if I come in?” he asks, his voice gentle but still carrying that hint of his usual energy.
You shake your head, even though you don’t feel ready. Sonic opens the window and slides in with ease, immediately noticing the mess of unopened gifts around your room.
“Man, I’ve really been overdoing it, huh?” He chuckles awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. “I just… thought maybe some of this stuff would make you smile.”
You want to tell him that it’s not the gifts, that it’s not him, that nothing he does could fix what’s broken inside you. But the words stick in your throat, and all you manage is a weak, “You didn’t have to…”
“Hey, it’s no big deal. I like doing it,” Sonic says quickly, sitting down on the edge of your bed. “I know it’s not easy, what you’re going through. But I’m not going anywhere. We’ll figure this out.”
We’ll figure this out. He always said that. Every time he came over.
You glance at him, biting your lip. The guilt tightens in your chest. You know he’s doing everything he can. He’s Sonic the Hedgehog, after all—the hero, the one who always saves the day. But this time, you’re not sure if you can be saved.
“I don’t deserve it,” you mumble, the words slipping out before you can stop them. “I… I don’t deserve any of this.”
Sonic’s smile falters, and he looks at you with a seriousness that makes your stomach twist.
“Don’t say that,” he says, his voice quieter now. “You’re worth it. No matter how bad things feel, or how much you think you’re not—you are. I don’t just show up because I feel sorry for you. I’m here because you’re important to me.”
The words hit you harder than you expect, and you have to look away, tears welling up in your eyes. You didn’t think it was possible to feel this much shame and relief at the same time.
“I don’t know how to fix this.” you whisper, your voice shaking.
Sonic’s hand rests gently on your shoulder, and for once, he’s not trying to cheer you up or brush things off with a joke. He’s just… there.
“You don’t have to fix it all at once,” he says softly. “We’ll take it one step at a time. And when you fall, I’ll be there to catch you, just like before. You don’t have to do this alone.”
The tears spill over, and you can’t stop them this time. You feel Sonic’s arm wrap around your shoulder, pulling you into a comforting hug. You’ve felt so lost for so long, but right now, in this moment, with him holding you, you feel something you haven’t in a while—a little bit of hope.
It’s small, fragile, but it’s there.
And maybe, just maybe, that’s enough for now.

Am I the Asshole- newborn photography edition
I am being kind, I am being kind, I must remember that I'm being kind...
I am friends with a couple who just had a baby, but this is about them as photo clients. I did my first ever maternity shoot, couples shoot, maternity ward shoot, and they have plans for a million more shoots. I'm happy to give them super cheap rates because they're in a situation.
As friends go, they're not that great. I have a good time with them when I go over to help out, but there's always one or two things they say that I find a little off-putting. Particularly not fond of being treated like I need to be mothered. Not fond of some of the language they use. Not fond of some of the assumptions that are made in conversations. Not fond of being talked over, especially since I talk somewhat slow.
I let a lot of it go because I'm aware that some of this is the tism, some of it is trauma, some of it is a handful of other disorders, and some of it is just the way that they were brought up.
But I still help them out because I got nothing to do right now in the off season and I like helping people. So I drive to and from doc appointments, grocery shopping, general outings. Sometimes they just need to talk, so I let them talk and let some of the stuff that offends me roll off my back. Because I work with a lot of people who have extremely differing political opinions- so I am accustomed to this.
And I'm a pushover. Always have been.
We did a newborn shoot with studio lights and a backdrop and everything last week, after several attempts at rescheduling. It was my first newborn shoot EVER, and I was really proud of the results. Keep in mind that my training is in action photography- this is so very outside of my realm of expertise. There's a reason that newborn photography is its own industry. Client keeps telling me that they'll recommend me to all their other mom friends and that I'll 'make bank.' I'm not terribly jazzed about this, but if I end up being good at this, it would be a way to make extra money.
I sent them to them within the week, which is an insane turnaround for studio editing.
The night before they receive them, I'm pretty sure they're going through a mental health spiral. They call me at 10pm to tell me that they found an ear mite on one of their cats and that I should check my cat especially if he's indoor/outdoor (which he isn't) and I tell them that I will check. They tell me that the only place it could have come from was either me or the doula. I tell them that I'll check. And that they're not accusing me of anything, its just that it can be a big problem if there's an infestation. I tell them that I'll check.
"I'll check, but right now I'm trying to get to bed early because I've had a headache all day."
"You should take Imitrex for that."
Imitrex is a medicine for migraines. You should not take Imitrex for headaches. "I'm taking some Ibuprophen and going to bed early, it will be fine."
"If that doesn't work, you should take Imitrex because it will get rid of the headache fast." This person was an EMT in a previous lifestyle.
"I will not be doing that. Thank you. Good night."
Past experience with people with this cocktail of neuro-divergence tells me that this interaction was likely a result of a spiral- stress from having to take care of the baby, feeding every 2 hours, not getting much sleep, and a lot of PTSD around childbirth. It will either go away after they get some sleep or it will get worse. But it is not my responsibility to address something that's very much out of my wheelhouse.
(Turns out it wasn't an ear mite. They did apologize for calling me so late.)
Previous attempts at downloading from the gallery were not great because their phone just wasn't processing the pop up for some reason, so I've been sending them through Drive. Eats up all my space, takes forever. But it gets them to them. This time, though, they're not happy with it. They complain that its blurry, its pixelized, its not as good as the ones I've taken before. They send me a screenshot. I don't see the problem. The background is blurry, because that's an artistic choice that I made. A soft focus is very much in the style of the photos that they sent me as examples. This is one of the first times that I've had to photograph something small for them. Everything else was adults, this is a tiny baby. I assume they don't know what aperture and focal length is.
Client zoomed waaaay in on a photo of their kid and freaked out because they saw pixelation and said that they'd be uncomfortable printing it at a 4x6, let alone a larger size canvas, and that we need to reshoot ASAP because the kid is already outgrowing the clothes they bought their child. When I say 'way in,' I do mean 1/16th of the full size of the photo: a crop that no person would realistically want for a print.
But it took them three reschedulings to get the shoot we had (and every shoot we've ever done), and I can't drop everything just to do a shoot one week before my surgery.
The photo will print at 25inx14in without artifacting.
So I did some troubleshooting to make sure the problem wasn't the compression on their phone, or that they were viewing it in the preview screen. When they sent me the screenshots, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary and said that I didn't see what the problem was. It was exported at 240 dpi, which is typical for something that's going to be printed for typical household use. The only things that might have been an issue were that I didn't shoot in RAW file, and that maybe the image was overall just a little soft. Because, well, its a photo of a newborn. Stylistically, they're pretty soft.
I sent them 150 photos. WAY more than most people get for the price I was doing them at because they are my friends AND this was my first ever newborn shoot- I considered it a part of my own training to see if I can handle it.
I told them that I would do a texture/clarity pass and that I would email a download link from my gallery and that they should try looking at it on a computer instead of on the phone.
They told me that they don't want to ruin the friendship that we've made and that they feel that I'm being dismissive and that I don't care and won't listen to the problems that they see.
I insist- I would like to do a texture/clarity pass on the photos first and see if this makes a difference. Scheduling a second shoot isn't out of the question, but I can't guarantee that I will get the same results/poses from a second shoot... because its a baby and they kind of do what they want. I would like to try a simpler solution first.
I am no stranger to catastrophizing. I've done a lot of work to be able talk myself down from anxiety attacks. It doesn't always work. So I see myself in this. I run the pass, upload them to the gallery, but I pause on hitting 'send' because I know that their spouse will be home soon and they can talk it over. I send it at the time that their spouse usually gets home, I text spouse with instructions how to access them on desktop. They tell me that they worked a very long shift and that they will have to go over them tomorrow.
I tell them that it would be wise to do so- it will likely look better with fresh eyes after some sleep. I tell them to sleep well.
I am intending on getting a reasonable sized print to send to them so that they can see that it is not bad quality when it is printed.
Client texts me a 1am to tell me that they still look blurry to them. They need to do a reshoot today (Saturday) or Monday but they can't guarantee that they'll be in the best shape after their doctor's appointment so if we could do it this evening-
I told them that I am willing to reshoot the scenes specific to the ones she had issues with, but that I cannot guarantee that they will turn out the same as the first shoot, and that I need to know which specific scenes were the issue.
And I have not heard from them since.
Which is somewhat alarming, but I have been enjoying a peaceful day. I feel like I've been leaned on a little too hard and that I should have made clearer boundaries, but its somewhat hard to state your boundaries when you're constantly being interrupted.
I have a long list of thoughts in my head right now and all of them are unkind but how the fuck do you navigate a situation like this without hurting someone's feelings?
-"I'm not disregarding your feelings, I legit have no clue what you're talking about."
-"I think you're making mountains from molehills over something that essentially doesn't matter- you don't even have enough wall space in your apartment to print this in a size that it will distort."
-"Stop treating me like a child- I'm ten years older than you and I already have a mother."
-"All of the photos of me at that age were taken on a disposable camera and were destroyed in a flood. You have 150 really fucking cute photos by a professional, on a medium that has a much longer shelf life. Some goddamn perspective."
-"I do not care how bad your mental health is getting, and I don't care how fast you're spiraling, you do not treat friends like this. After all the rescheduling, all the nitpicking, and all the fucked up shit you say my fucking patience is a finite resource."
-"Why did I ever expect that someone that bulldozes over my boundaries on the regular would listen to me as a professional?"
-"I'm starting to see why your last photographer ghosted you."
-"Every professional in the world would put you on the 'do not book' list."
-"They're probably in the hospital right now because this might have triggered self harm, and that worries me but its also not my responsibility and I can't even say it would even be my FAULT."
So now I am spiraling. A little. Because its being made out that I did a poor job on my first go, when I thought I did well- I have checked and double checked to make sure that I had everything correct and I still do not see the problem. I feel like I'm being jerked around, even if unintentionally. I feel like I can't trust the quality of my work. I feel like I am, once again, the the recipient of someone's misdirected emotions just for being close enough to hit.
But every time I've enforced a boundary with someone, it gets violated and I'm just kind of like... do I attract this kind of person? Can they smell the doormat on me? And the fucked up part of this is that every person who has crossed a boundary has been the first to tell me that I need to lay down better boundaries. Like yeah- you'd know, wouldn't you bitch?
Anyways.
Am I the asshole for not wanting to do a second shoot and also for turning my phone on 'do not disturb' when I know my friend might be in the hospital?

LOVE ON AiR: 32. crybaby
WARNiNGS » profanity, drinking, mentions of being drunk (not proofread)
wc: 2.3k
it had now been officially a week and two days since you and sunghoon last talked. but really who was counting? everyone actually. your friends, you, and especially sunghoon.
“look it’ll take your mind off things, you don’t even have to drink just chill” sunoo voice rang in your head as you entered yeonjuns house with kat and giselle by your side. both who vowed not to leave you alone for the night. it was like any other party, a bit smelly and very loud.
you followed kat into the makeshift bar which was just the kitchen. “are you sure you don’t want anything to drink hon?” kats voice spoke next to you and you shook your head no, giving her a tight lipped smile. you weren’t going to lie and say you really wanted but at your current mental state, getting drunk was definitely the last thing you wanted to do.
“when did jungwon say they were gonna get here?” giselle leaned against the counter, turning to face you as you just stirred the straw in your drink. “according to life360 they’ve been here for like an hour now” you spoke up, finally taking a sip of your lemonade. “of course they have” kat rolled her eyes, causing both you and giselle to laugh softly.
you looked at both of them and frowned slightly. “you don’t need to be with me, i don’t wanna stop you two from having fun” you mumbled out and giselle shook her head, intertwining your arms together. “we can still have fun with you! we’ll just people watch all night” you rolled your eyes and let go of her arm, stepping away from both of them. “i’m telling you i’m perfectly fine, go mingle, have fun, i don’t know kiss someone!” you smiled at both of them. giselle and kat exchanged looks and kat sighed. “fine, but just text us okay?” she reached to rub your arm and you nodded, smiling as they both walked away.
you started walking around, people who knew you from a mutual friend waving and saying hi. “yn? is that you?” you heard a voice from afar and spotted the face, karina. you walked in her direction where her and sunwoo sat. “oh my god hi” you smiled at both of them. you reached to shake karina’s hand but instead she pulled you for a hug. startled, you reluctantly hugged her back.
she let go of you and you sat across from them, setting your drink down on the coffee table. karina sat up, leaning towards you now. there was still a good space between you and them. “so? where’s your little boy toy? sunwoo told me all about him” she wiggled her brows at you and you glanced to sunwoo, sending a fake smile. “sorry did you not want me to say anything?” he furrowed his brows and karina frowned a little. you didn’t feel like lying to either of them so you finished your drink and set it down.
“we aren’t really.. uh” you hesitated, now looking down at the rings on your fingers. “we aren’t talking anymore. i don’t think we will anytime soon” you sighed out, looking up. “that dick! he doesn’t know what he’s missing i promise there’s other guys” karina yelled out, clearly more upset than you were. she was right, there was so many other guys you could want. truth was that as much as sunghoon hurted you, a part of you still wanted him.
maybe you were obsessed with the idea of someone finally wanting to be with you and being confident about their feelings with you. it didn't matter because this past week you had been trying to push that feeling down so hard but it was no use.
sunwoos eyes softened on your figure. “you still want to be with him, don’t you?” you felt tears well up in your eyes sighed shakily. karina frowned, seeing the tears in your eyes. she stood up and sat down next to you, holding you in her arms. “cmon tell us what’s going on” she rubbed your back, “it’s a long story” you spoke up, making sunwoo and karina both laugh.
“well we both have nowhere else to be so lay it on us” sunwoo said, giving you a tight lipped smile. you nodded and sat up, karina still rubbing your back. so the story began.
“LETS GOOO!!!” jake cheered, beating sunghoon and jungwon in a round of beer pong again. “who knew you were actually good at this” riki spoke next to jake, dapping him up at another victory. “you know what i know that’s backhanded but i’ll take it!” jake spoke, heeseung laughing and patting his back.
sunghoon had been here for about an hour now and the only thing he’s wanted to do is just go home. he wasn’t in the mood to do anything and the only reason he was playing beer pong with them is because sunoo told him to.
he hadnt bumped into you yet which was both a blessing and a curse. a curse because he needs to clear things up between you two. blessing because if he did clear things up and you did unblock him you would see the 41 unread messages, 5 voicemails, and 15 missed calls in your notifications.
“ah ah you’re moping again! cmon take another drink” jay patted sunghoons shoulder making him groan. “i am not moping” he mumbled, pushing jays hand off his shoulder. “yeah you are! you have that stupid pout on your face that you’ve had for the past week” jake yelled, pointing at sunghoon now.
that’s what sunghoons week looked like, he found out pretty early that all of his friends knew about the situation and they haven’t left him alone since. the girls were occupied with you clearly so his week ranged from pickleball with sunoo, karaoke with all 7 of them, and even hanging out with yeonjun. he knew what they were doing, they were keeping him busy so he didn’t think about you.
but he did. every single minute of that week. all he could think about was how disgusted you were of him, of how hurt you were. he wasn’t even there in person but it’s like your cries echoed in his head all the fucking time. some would call it torture, sunghoon thought of it as the price he had to pay for hurting you.
a drink was now shoved in his hand by heeseung, who patted his back. sunghoon groaned, looking downstairs now. they were on the second floor balcony which gave a clear view of the first floor. as he looked around, he found you. sitting across a guy with another girl on your side. he furrowed his brows, seeing that you were clearly saying something but he couldn’t hear it over the music.
“who is yn talking to right now?” he spoke up, making jungwon walk over. sunghoon pointed his head towards your direction and jungwon squinted, trying to make out a face. “looks like.. sunwoo and karina.” jungwon spoke up, looking at sunghoon who had an irritated look on his face.
“oh i didn’t know sunwoo was in town! i’ll go say hi later” sunoo smiled and sunghoon furrowed his brows, “who is that” he turned around to look at sunoo. “he’s a guy yn used to talk to, but karina is his girlfriend. i’m sure they’re just catching up!” sunoo reassured him, although it didn’t do much for sunghoon. jake noticed the shift in his attitude and rushed over to his side, grabbing his wrist. “they’re setting up a billiards game come on!” and there they went.
“holy shit” was all that sunwoo and karina could muster out after you laid down the nitty gritty of your predicament. “see, complicated.” you took a sip of your drink, now with a refill of fruit punch you furrowed your brows at the taste and set the cup down, the lemonade was better. “as crazy as that all is yn can i be honest?” karina looks to you and you nod. “please do” regretting saying that after the next couple words came out of her mouth.
“just.. hear him out.” she smiled softly and you frowned a little. “rinas right, as bad as it looks for him, you need to atleast try to give him a chance” sunwoo said, taking a sip of his drink as well. “i guess so” you sighed out, swishing the liquid in the cup around.
just before you were going to speak up, your phone buzzed in your lap, the noise startling all three of you. it was a text from kat.
kat: really drunk rn, do you think you could take me home. i’m upstairs in the 3rd door on the left
you sighed, shutting your phone. “i gotta go, it’s kat” karina and sunwoo nodded as you stood up. karina stood up and gave you a hug. “just take our advice into account okay?” she mumbled next to your ear and you nodded, smiling softly. you pulled back and said your goodbyes to them both, then headed upstairs to find kat.
once you were up there, you walked around groups of people and found the room. luckily the door was unlocked so you went in. it was an empty bedroom, most likely a guest room since this was yeonjuns parents house. you shut the door behind you and walked around. “kat?” you called out, walking towards the bathroom door.
you jumped when the bathroom door opened, but instead of it being kat you saw sunghoon, walking out of the bathroom, wide eyed. “sorry kat said she was in here” you turned around, making your way to leave. “yn wait” he grabbed your wrist, causing you to turn around.
“can we talk, please” was all he could muster out after seeing your face. you pursed your lips then got your hand out of his hold. “why should i even talk to you sunghoon. give me one good reason” you looked at him, arms crossed. sunghoon blanked. he couldn’t think of one good reason you should listen to him. you nodded, sucking your teeth. “goodbye sunghoon” once again you turned around, instead of sunghoon grabbing your wrist, he rushed to walk in front of you, blocking your way out.
“get out of my way” you murmured, not even wanting to look at him. “yn i can’t think of a single good reason, i can’t. but please let me explain my side and you can decide if you want anything to do with me after this. whatever your choice is, i won’t interfere i swear.” he said, now pleading you to hear his case. you sighed and looked up at him. screw this pretty man for having pretty eyes too. “fine, but you have five minutes” you crossed your arms. sunghoon hesitating, not knowing where to start.
“whatever haseul told you just don’t believe it. she doesn’t want what’s best for you. yes i confronted her and yes she admitted. i may or may not have blackmailed her to get her to leave you alone but i swear yn you can check my phone i never had a part in it. never. the only thing i knew of the stalking was what you told me.” as he reached for his phone in his pocket you stopped him. “i don’t need to check your phone im not doing that.” he nodded, running his hand through his hair, useless really because his palms were sweaty.
“and the lie, i feel so stupid about that. the guys told me not just come clean and i didn’t listen. im so sorry yn i had no right to confront her i should’ve just told you about it and let you have that closure. i thought i was taking a burden off your shoulders but im really sorry yn.” he spoke fast again, but you could keep up with his words. what sucked about all of this is that you believed it. you believed that distressed look in his eyes, the rambling he did, the story also just made sense.
you pursed your lips, and sighed. you knew he was waiting on a response but you could only think about one thing. “i believe you but sunghoon it shouldn’t be this hard to want to be with you.” is that you mustered out, breaking sunghoons heart in two. a part of him is glad you want him, the other part feels so guilty for putting you through so much these past couple months.
“i know.. i know im sorry” he replied, eyes searching yours. “i am too, i shouldn't have believed some stranger over you” causing him to shake his head. “yn you have nothing to apologize for, nothing. okay?” he looked in your eyes for an answer and you breathed out, nodding.
“from here on out i promise yn there’s no secrets, i mean other than the fact that sometimes gaeul sleeps in my bed but no secrets” he rambled out, making you laugh softly. sunghoons heart swelled at the sound of your laugh and your smile on your face. “okay sunghoon, no secrets” you nodded, making him smile.
the door opened behind sunghoon revealing heeseung and kat, who were indeed the masterminds behind it all. “sooo?” heeseung smiled at the two of you and you nodded. “everything’s okay, we talked” kat and heeseung fist bump each other making sunghoon roll his eyes. “okay well my text was partially true because giselle is drunk and we should go now” kat looks to you and you nod, turning to sunghoon.
“see you soon?” you looked up at him, making him smile and nod. you got closer and kissed his cheek, then pulled away, grabbing kats hand. you waved bye to a now flushed sunghoon and heeseung.
heeseung side eyed sunghoon, elbowing him. “look at you so much for nonchalant huh?” sunghoon glared at him, “quit it man” “oh come on!! give me a kiss too hoonie”

“I don’t know which one to watch, though.”
“We can just decide when you get here later,” Wonwoo says in between bites of cereal. With his left hand, he’s fumbling trying to prop up his phone on Vernon’s water bottle.
“When I get where?” She says though he can’t see her face. He can just see her ceiling as he listens to her do something in the background.
Wonwoo pauses for a second, letting her think. When all he hears is her continual surrounding noises, he finally speaks up.
“...When you get to my apartment… for the group project.”
He can hear her gasp when he finishes his sentence and then some more rustling. Finally, her head pops up from the bottom of his screen, and if she weren’t so pretty, he would’ve choked on his Cheerios from the jumpscare.
She smiles wide trying to hide her bout of short-term memory.
“Yes… the group project… session… at your place… that I’m definitely getting ready for right now.” She fidgets and he can see it through the camera. He hopes she can see the sharp glare he’s sending her too.
“You forgot,” Wonwoo says plainly.
“I did not… forget.” She takes the phone into her hands, taking a seat on her bed. He can see the pillows plush around her head as she positions herself comfortably. He wonders what her room looks like, besides the ceiling and the corner of the bed he’s viewing. Wonwoo thinks it has to be decorated as loud as her personality, compared to his room that’s mainly white and boring. He makes a mental reminder to not let her in there today.
He grabs his phone as well, bringing it closer to his face.
“You. Definitely. Forgot.” He teases, watching the guilt grow on her face.
“Who forgot?” Mingyu walks into the kitchen, hair still recovering from his long slumber. By the looks of it, Wonwoo thinks he forgot too.
“Y/N forgot that we’re meeting up today for the group project.”
And the way Mingyu stills trying to steal a bite from Wonwoo’s cereal, he knows he was right. The milk is dribbling from the spoon as the cereal is suspended in the air, and Wonwoo turns his phone away so she doesn’t see that another member of the group has forgotten. He rolls his eyes, shoving the spoon into Mingyu’s mouth.
Mingyu hums, feigning ignorance. “Yes! The group project, duh. At our place.” Chunks of Cheerios are splattering onto the table as he speaks and Wonwoo scowls at the clumsy boy.
“See,” Wonwoo smiles condescendingly at his phone. “Even Gyu remembers.”
Mingyu tries to steal the whole bowl from him, but Wonwoo’s arm blocks him along with the stern look on his face. Mingyu groans in response and heads towards the cabinets to make his own breakfast.
“And I did too! How could I forget the precious plans we made together, Won?” She says ever so sweetly. He can see her lashes flutter even through her bad wifi connection.
Mingyu’s head snaps in the direction of her voice through the phone, tilted in curiosity.
‘Won?’ he mouths. He begins to giggle to himself, dragging a stool opposite of Wonwoo. His eyebrows are raised teasingly, and there’s a huge smile on his face at the sound of the nickname that naturally escaped her lips.
Wonwoo is turning his camera away from his face once again before telling Mingyu to back off. No longer interested in breakfast, or stealing Wonwoo’s, he’s keenly listening in on their conversation.
“So I’ll see you at 1?” Wonwoo asks.
He watches her eyes flicker to her clock before she nods. “Yep, I’ll see you at 1!”
“The plans are for 12,” Wonwoo deadpans, and her face drops.
“Fuck you.”
“See you!” He ends the call.
It’s silent in the kitchen as Wonwoo continues to play on his phone, refusing to meet MIngyu’s eyes. He already knows he’s in for it.
“So… Won.” Mingyu slyly tries to grab his spoon. Not wanting to have this conversation, Wonwoo actually lets him steal a bite.
“Yes, Gyu.” He mistakenly looks up and there’s a pleased look on Mingyu’s face. Wonwoo tries not to let his face show that he’s phased. He simply gives him a blank stare, like video chatting her is normal and her calling him by a nickname is normal.
Which it is. It has been his new normal for the past two months or so. Wonwoo never expected to grow this close to a person in college especially considering how dry the past four years have gone, both friend and relationship wise. But Y/N has somehow managed to find her place in his life after being added to his group project the day after she was absent. And he let her in without fighting. She managed to slip her way into his life in a way that no one has before, especially considering she used to just be a classmate he saw around every once in a while — and found mildy? slightly? Okay, incredibly attractive.
However, now, her place feels unfamiliar. It’s shifting towards even more uncharted waters. It wasn’t like his friendships with Mingyu, Hoshi, and Vernon.
Maybe it’s because she’s a girl and this is his first girl (emphasis on the space) friend or that’s what Wonwoo has been telling himself these past two weeks. Or maybe it’s because unlike the boys, Y/N doesn’t complain when they spend time alone, when all Wonwoo wants to do is be introverted. She doesn’t complain when she calls and he’s gaming. She doesn’t complain when he’s overslept and is showing up to their study sessions with sleep still in his eyes.
He appreciates her efforts far more than he did before. Especially when her sweet acts like buying him a milk tea carton, every time they meet up to work on the project, sends his heart into a frenzy. Or when she laughs extra hard at his jokes, when he knows they’re not that funny. Wonwoo really likes it when their conversations go on a tangent, and they’re no longer talking about which powerpoint template they should use but what sweetness level is best at their campus’ coffee shop. Wonwoo won’t let himself look deeper into that feeling though. Besides, it could just be the caffeine from all the varyingly sweetened americanos they’ve sampled.
All he knows right now is that their relationship feels different and Wonwoo often wonders if there’s a need to define it. He never allows himself to dive further than that. His chest seizes at the possibilities.
“So what’s going on?” Mingyu asks, propping his chin on his hand.
“Just… eating breakfast.” Wonwoo stares, as if it was obvious, making Mingyu roll his eyes in frustration.
He tsks, “I meant with you and Y/N. Duh.”
“With me and Y/N? I don’t understand.” Wonwoo shakes his head, confused at Mingyu’s questioning.
“Are you guys… like more than friends? Just friends? I’m just curious,” Mingyu shrugs. “I’ve never seen you willingly talk this much to anyone but the three of us.”
“We’re friends,” Wonwoo says quickly, trying to ignore the fuzzy feeling in his chest. He can feel the tips of his ears turn warm.
“Why-,” Wonwoo clears his throat. “Why do you think we’re more than just friends?”
Since the topic wasn’t brought up by someone other than the nagging lovesick voices in his head, Wonwoo was actually curious to hear what his friend had to say. Truthfully speaking, if we’re going to be really honest here, Wonwoo has thought of her in a romantic light from time to time, but seeing as he barely managed to move from a classmate to a friend basis with her, a relationship didn’t seem possible. A relationship felt so out of reach, it was embarrassing to even consider. With a loner like Wonwoo, he could never fathom Y/N liking him back.
“You know who she reminds me of? She reminds me of Yuna.” This makes Wonwoo choke on his cereal milk.
“Yuna?! Like from high school, that Yuna?”
“Yeah,” Mingyu nods. “The one you had a crush on for like two years.”
“And then she hardcore friendzoned me. Why would Y/N remind you of Yuna? That’s horrible…” Wonwoo shivers, reliving his teenage rejection. It was an awful time for him. He had allowed himself to fall for his longtime crush, ask her out, only for her to completely and very publicly embarrass him. Vernon gave her death glares for two months whenever they crossed paths.
“She doesn’t remind me of her. She just reminds me of the crush you had on her. The way you’re acting now, it’s like when you had a crush on Yuna. It’s so cute.”
“I-I don’t like Y/N like that. And even if I did, why would you compare it to my failed high school love life? That’s traumatizing.” Wonwoo gets up from the stool, and moves to start washing his dishes – and some of Hoshi’s from last night’s dinner.
“Okay maybe I went about describing this the wrong way. I’m not saying she’s going to friendzone you. I’m saying you have crush behavior, like how you did back in high school. With Yuna… but you seem in denial this time.”
Wonwoo sighs. “I don’t like her like that. And I’m not in denial. Even if I did, you just gave me a reason to not do anything about it. So, thanks.”
Wonwoo angrily scrubs at the stain Hoshi left on one of the plates and he groans at how stubborn it is. The more he scrubbed, the more the stain started to look like Yuna. Then he starts to remember the look of disgust she gave him when he gathered the courage to confess his feelings. He could hear her conceited scoff ringing in his ears. If his fingers didn’t hurt so much from his steel grip on the sponge, the sore pain in his chest would’ve been a lot more noticeable.
“Noooo,” Mingyu whines. “That wasn’t the point of this conversation.”
Wonwoo slams the faucet shut, turning to face his friend. “Then what was the point, Mingyu?”
Mingyu somehow shrinks himself small, giving Wonwoo a sad look. “I just wanted you to realize your feelings for her. I want you to be happy, Woo.”
“Yeah, well, I’m perfectly happy like this. So please stop pushing this on me.” Wonwoo says with finality, before returning to his dishes. He could feel the coldness he left in the air, and he winced at his own tone. He can hear Mingyu awkward shuffling behind him.
“I’m sorry. I’m gonna go buy some snacks before Y/N gets here. Want anything?”
“I’m good.”
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
But he wasn’t. Wonwoo lied. All throughout the entire study session, he kept fidgeting in his seat at her close proximity. She called dibs on the seat next to him and it’s not like he hasn’t been this close to her before. However, after that talk with Mingyu, he can only see her and think about his potential feelings for her. Loose emphasis on the word, ‘potential.’
“Okayyy, I honestly think we’re done.” Vernon claps his hands on his thighs, cueing the end of the session.
“Yeah, I feel good. We should be ready to present.” She nods, not moving to pack her stuff. “Do you guys wanna get dinner?”
Hoshi’s posture straightens, “Oooh, wanna order in?”
She matches his smile, immediately agreeing. She leans over the table to look at Hoshi’s phone, blocking Wonwoo’s sight and he gulps. How is he supposed to last a dinner with her when he could barely handle the last few hours?
He accidentally catches Mingyu’s eyes and there’s a devilish gleam to them. Wonwoo immediately scowls, leaning back in his seat to draw some distance from her.
“Won, what are you craving?” She turns her head to him, waiting for his input. Her face was less than a foot away from his, he could smell the aftertaste of their lattes from her breath.
“I-I’m good. With whatever. Friend.” He sputters out. That gets him looks from everyone at the table, before they decide to ignore him and continue looking at menus. Wonwoo excuses himself, not before dragging Mingyu to his room.
After trudging his friend down the hallway, he silently slams the door of his room behind them. In pure Wonwoo fashion, Mingyu wasn’t sure how he was able to close the door so gently but so scarily.
“You.”
“Me.” Mingyu responds.
“You… you’re messing with my brain,” Wonwoo whines, playing with the sleeves of his sweater. Mingyu simply takes a seat on his bed and enjoys the mental torment his best friend is experiencing. It feels good to be right, he thinks.
“How am I messing with your brain?” He tilts his head innocently.
“You’re making me think things, Gyu.”
“What things?” Mingyu eggs him on and every second that passes, Wonwoo’s eyebrows furrow closer together.
“You know, like, non-platonic things. I don’t know! These thoughts weren’t there before.” Wonwoo lies, even he knows that didn’t sound convincing.
Wonwoo finally stops pacing and takes a seat next to Mingyu. His shoulders are tense with frustration. Mingyu could practically see the thoughts trapped inside Wonwoo’s head.
“Are you sure they weren’t? Or were you just denying them?” Fearful of asking these questions, Mingyu’s eyes dart Wonwoo’s way for a second to check if he crossed any lines before fixating on his computer set up on the other wall.
“It’s really annoying that you think I have these feelings,” Wonwoo groans. “Even if I did, it wouldn’t matter, because she would never like me back.”
“But I do.”
Wonwoo and Mingyu whip their head to the bedroom door they swear was closed a second ago. However, it was wide open, and Y/N was standing in the entrance confidently. Or so it seemed, since she was hiding her shaking hands in her hoodie pockets.
“Huh?” Wonwoo says, despite very clearly hearing what she just announced.
“No way…,” Mingyu follows. He was rooting for her to return his feelings, but seeing it physically happen was still mind blowing to him.
“I like you, Wonwoo.” She says a little louder, she pulls her hands out of her pockets to stop them from profusely sweating. If he was any closer, he could hear her heart banging against her ribcage or see the sweat beginning to coat her forehead. This was harder than the moment she approached Wonwoo for the first time.
“I came in to get your dinner order, but I guess you’re getting a confession too,” she laughs awkwardly, trying to appear calm.
Mingyu took this as his cue to leave, though not really wanting to miss the action. It was like he was forcing his heavy feet to move out of the room, not before giving her a small “fighting!” and exiting. However, he didn’t get far, because once he turned the corner, he rammed into two crouched figures outside the doorway.
Hoshi hisses when Mingyu’s foot comes in contact with his shin and Vernon fumbles on his feet, catching the weight of Hoshi’s body in front of him.
“You guys are terrible,” Mingyu quietly scolds the two spies and they roll their eyes.
“As if you weren’t gonna do the same if we weren’t already here.” Hoshi crosses his arms, unmoved by Mingyu’s moral questioning.
“Just scoot over,” Mingyu hisses before finding a space between them to also eavesdrop on this new addition to Wonwoo’s love life. But with what comes next, it may just be the end.
“No, you don’t.” Wonwoo states in response.
Her eyebrow twitches for a second in confusion, not wanting to let her confidence be wavered.
“What do you mean?” She can feel her throat go dry watching his facial features stiffen. This is not what she expected after confessing. Now her heart was racing at a speed that made her feel sick.
“You don’t like me.” Straight to the point. Like it was an undefiable fact. It pierced her chest in a way that made her almost second-guess her feelings.
Y/N scoffs in disbelief, and he winces at how painfully familiar it sounded.
“How could you speak on my feelings like that? I just said I like you, Wonwoo. If I said it, then I mean it.” She takes a step closer to him to hammer her point in, but he swiftly moves back, scared. She would’ve liked it better if he stood his ground, as watching him actively avoid her hurt even more. It’s like she could feel the line being drawn between them again.
“It’s not that simple,” He fights back.
“And it’s not that difficult.” She pushes harder. She was borderline angry, desperate for him to hear her out.
“You’re just confused…,” Wonwoo says her name in a way that makes it seems like he cares. With how softly it flows past his lips, she was almost convinced he was saying he liked her back. But with the space he put between them, she knew her mind was just tricking her.
“Confused,” she repeats. Not liking the finality of the word and how bitter it tasted on her tongue.
She finally breaks eye contact with him to stare at his bedroom walls. It’s much different than hers, but that’s what she expected. Truthfully, she was hoping to be able to see his room today. It would’ve made her feel like they had grown much closer, to be let into his personal space like that. She imagined the walls to be blank, but to at least have a few pictures or mementos of Wonwoo and the boys. But his room was void of anything, as if it was purposeful. Even if she tried to hang a picture of them two on his wall, it felt like the room would reject it for the sake of staying empty. Desolate.
The weight of that realization grew heavier on her mind. That’s just who Wonwoo is. That’s what he makes himself out to be, as hard as he can. Alone.
Y/N’s anger is now gone. And so is her fight. Her heart finally settles down to a cold, steady beat and her fingers stop trembling. She can feel the rise and fall of her chest as she sighs, suddenly feeling tired. Wonwoo feels her eyes back on him.
“Okay,” she nods. “Whatever you want.” She gives him a tight lipped smile, eyes meeting his but it felt like she was looking further. Like she was staring through him.
Her change in demeanor shocks Wonwoo, and he feels the foundation he built around his feet begin to shift. Despite wanting her to agree with him, it felt odd for it to happen. It didn’t feel good at all. Wonwoo thought he was protecting himself by shielding her confession, but it felt like a sword found it’s way to his back and sliced through. Now he was bleeding.
“I actually don’t feel like eating anymore, so I think I’m just gonna head home. I’ll tell the boys to order without me.” She says this without looking at him, taking another long look at his empty walls, and Wonwoo finds himself missing her gaze on him. His hand twitches, wanting to catch her wrist, stop her from leaving.
Not giving him a second to change his mind, because she knows he wouldn’t, she turns her heels around. Her eyes begin to sting and she tucks her head before he can see why. She walks quickly out the door, not minding the three men crouched in the hallway, and makes her escape.
The last thing the four of them hear is the door shut and a curse leave Wonwoo’s mouth.
“Fuck.”
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
“Freshmen dorms are listed on the map, the route is highlighted. Once you get to the area, there should be tables set up that tell you which building and room you’re assigned to. Happy orientation!”
Wonwoo blinks at the cheery girl decked out in his newly admitted university’s colors, and wonders if he’s supposed to wish her a happy orientation back. He settles for a nod instead and watches her smile dip for a second before handing him the flyer.
He tugs his duffle bag strap closer to his body when his shoulders are suddenly weighed down by another person’s arm.
“That was a good one, Wonwoo. Really, really good first impression,” Vernon teases.
Wonwoo throws his head back in a groan, already exhausted by the social aspect of moving in.
“How was I supposed to respond?”
Another voice chimes in. “Thank you? Have a nice day? Go Lions?! Maybe. Just a thought.”
Hoshi, the other voice, cackles, punching Wonwoo’s other arm before throwing up claws in support of school spirit.
“Horrible options,” Wonwoo deadpans. “Last one was the worst.”
But Wonwoo’s smiling, trying to slap the stupid gesture off Hoshi’s hands. This only motivates him more, as Hoshi is throwing up claws towards every person in passing.
The boys are too distracted by trying to calm Hoshi down and drawing less attention that they don’t notice they’ve caught the eye of the girl trailing behind them, laughing at their antics. Her eyes are trained on Wonwoo in the middle, entertained by his distaste, but hidden joy, towards his friends’ behaviors. The other guy, Vernon, not the one already acting like an animal, started to play into it too.
She’s about to go up to them, pretending to be lost despite the map in her hands and the obvious signage littered around the campus, in hopes to befriend them before a fourth boy enters the equation.
“Heyyyy… you guys ditched me at check in.” He shoves his shoulder into Wonwoo’s, knocking both him and Vernon attached. The new member takes a look at Hoshi greeting everyone with a “Go Lions!” and cringes.
“Nevermind. Thank you for ditching me,” He bows. “I shouldn’t have caught up with you guys because I don’t wanna be associated with him for another four years.” He starts to slow down his pace in efforts to distance himself.
The boys roll their eyes, not letting him get away from this. “Mingyu, get back here!”
They attempt to grab his backpack straps when he fully walks backwards into the girl behind them.
“Oh, ouch.” She grabs her face after it got slapped by his backpack.
“Oh, oh my god. I’m so so sorry!” Mingyu freaks out. He instinctively grabs the side of her head, and she’s thrown off by his quick closeness. “Are you okay?!”
“I’m-I’m fine,” She laughs, covering her mouth. Her eyes betray her as she makes eye contact with Wonwoo. She immediately moves to hide more of her face after blushing. He doesn’t seem to notice. In fact, he’s already looking off into the space behind her.
Suddenly feeling embarrassed and lowkey rejected, she readjusts her hair. “Um, do you guys know where the freshmen dorms are?” She decides to stick to her original plan, hoping she comes off clueless enough to not read the signs.
“Oh! We’re heading that way if you wanna come with us?” Hoshi offers. “Are you sure you’re okay, you’re a little red. Mingyu’s a big guy and he almost fully rammed into you.”
At the sound of another person joining them, Wonwoo winces and she’s quick to catch it, no matter how fast he was in recovering that quick display of his feelings. She caught Vernon elbowing him in the ribs. All the hope she had immediately plummeted.
“Oh no, it’s totally okay,” she saves herself, feeling completely defeated. “I forgot I was supposed to meet with my friends… over… there!” She points at a random tree. She turns back to look at the four of them, hoping she sounded convincing enough.
They followed her finger to look at the meeting spot, and even they looked a little confused. But they shook it off, before bidding her a good day. Hoshi even gave her a “Go Lions!” She threw a claw up instinctively, and scolded herself immediately at how stupid that must’ve looked. She watched them walk away as she stood next to the stupid tree with all her luggage sitting pathetically next to her feet. She wondered how long she had to pretend to wait there before she was safe to just go to the dorms.
The four boys walked away, and for a second she thought her imagination was messing with her, but Wonwoo turned his head around to make eye contact with her. He gives her a small nod and it takes her awhile to process before she gives him one back. Okay, maybe there is hope.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Wonwoo and Y/N never truly interacted since that day four years ago. If you could call that an interaction. And they also haven’t spoken since finishing the group project a week ago.
Today is the day of their presentation, and despite the lack of practice they got, the group looks ready to get it over with as they stand in front of the class.
As if they rehearsed it a million times, the presentation goes off without a hitch. Each member says their part and despite doing the same thing, Wonwoo is shocked that Y/N is speaking so calmly and eloquently. Like he didn’t just reject her and her feelings a week ago. It fills him with an even stronger guilt than what he’s been feeling these last few days. She’ll refer to him and his part during the presentation and even though she’s looking at him, it’s not like she’s actually looking at him. Not in the way she did before.
The class claps, despite probably not listening to a word they said for the past 15 minutes, and they return to their seats. Mingyu is praising Y/N on her part and she just smiles, whispering a ‘thank you.’ It feels like Wonwoo got punched in the gut.
She’s sitting next to him, but she feels so far away. This is the first time she’s shown up to class since that day and he wants to ask her how she is. How her weekend went. What she had for breakfast. If her upstairs neighbor is still playing marbles at weird hours of the night. But he can’t. He knows why he can’t, and it makes him sick knowing.
Wonwoo just sighs to himself, pulling out his notebook to pretend to take notes. He feels a poke on his right side and Hoshi’s looking at him with pity. Talk to her, he mouths. Wonwoo just shakes his head nervously, earning a look of disapproval from his friend.
Out of curiosity, he looks at her again, and her eyes are now glassy as it’s trained on her laptop screen. He gasps, not able to stop his hand from touching her arm in hopes to comfort her. But it only causes the tears to slip from her eyes and her sniffles to get louder. She shuts her eyes in embarrassment, not wanting to look at him. Y/N looks up at the ceiling trying to reign in her emotions before she closes her laptop, and quickly excuses herself from the classroom.
No one seems to notice as the next group is still setting up their presentation and Mingyu kicks Wonwoo’s chair from behind, urging him to chase after her. For once, Wonwoo doesn’t hesitate, and he races out the door to find her.
He spots her back, walking down the hallway, arms tucked around her waist. He calls out her name, watching her flinch. It hurts that that’s how she reacts to him now. She doesn’t slow down.
“I’m going to the bathroom, Wonwoo. Leave me alone.”
He catches up to her. “I’ll come with you.”
“To the girl’s bathroom?” She sneers. She’s finally really looking at him and he can tell this isn’t her first cry. Her eyes are red and puffy and he knows she wore her glasses today in hopes to cover them up. She did the exact same thing when she and Wonwoo marathoned well known movies with sad endings two weeks ago.
“I’ll… I’ll wait outside.”
“I don’t want you near me. And you obviously don’t want me near you, so just go back to class,” she dismisses him, picking up her pace as she feels the tears gather quicker on her waterline.
Wonwoo lets out a strangled sigh, fighting the insecure teenage boy inside of him, as he grabs her hand, yanking her to a stop. His hands are shaking, holding hers, and he wants to beat himself up for putting her through all of this. Looking at her in this state, knowing it’s because of him and his unresolved problems, makes his head pound with frustration. He feels almost nauseous.
“I do,” he manages to spit out. “I do want you near me, that’s the problem.” Wonwoo croaks.
“Why is that a problem?” She asks, and it comes out like a sob. “Why?”
Her hand is light in his grasp, and she attempts to pull away. “I’ve-I’ve never made you feel like I didn’t want to be with you. Like I didn’t want to be your friend or that I didn’t want to be a part of your life. So I don’t understand how you could so easily convince yourself that I don’t care about you.”
He opens his mouth, and she cuts him off by stepping closer. He’s let go of her hand, and he’s dumbfounded by her assertiveness.
“I like you, Wonwoo. You can’t tell me that I don’t.” She jabs at her own chest, now furious. “And- and you also can’t tell me that you don’t like me back!”
Wonwoo’s eyes widened, not expecting her to have pieced it together before he had. He wasn’t sure what his plan was when he chased her out here. He still doesn’t know what his plan is now. He’s just in shock. And she is too.
“Oh my god,” her hands clasp over her mouth. “That was so stupid of me. And overly confident.” Y/N’s shaking her head in disbelief as she tries to walk away from him again and this dreadful situation.
She’s almost out of his eyesight when the adrenaline hits him. He’s really about to lose her now.
“Stop!” Wonwoo calls. He’s winded from his thoughts and from running after her, and his arms found their way around her. His chest presses against her back and he's breathing into her shoulder. “You’re-you’re not stupid. You’re right. I-“
Wonwoo stops himself before he could continue, peeling himself off her body. “This is wrong,” he says to himself. He goes around to actually face her, grabbing her shoulders to steady himself and to actually look her in the eyes. She looks scared.
“There,” he chuckles under his breath out of nervousness. “I like you.” He says to her face.
The corners of his mouth lift with ease, and he wonders why it was so hard to say that before. He feels like he can say it a million more times. And the way the light slowly makes its way back into her eyes makes him want to scream his confession. He wipes a lingering tear from her face and he giggles. Wonwoo can’t believe how ridiculous he was before when it feels this good to say he likes her.
“I really, really like you. And it took me a while to accept it and that scared me. So the easiest thing to do was to deflect your feelings because at least, if you didn’t like me, then my feelings for you didn’t matter.” Wonwoo explained it like spilling in a long overdue diary entry.
“I know that wasn’t fair to you and I know this isn’t an excuse. But I was just scared to lose you when I just got you. I’ve never… gotten anyone like I got… you? Does that make sense?”
She shakes her head, no, in his hands. At a loss for words this time, not really wanting to believe what she’s hearing.
“Say it again,” she requests. One more time to know if she heard him right.
“Uhh.. I’ve never got anyone- wait, no. I’ve never gotten you like… that’s not right, either. I’ve-“ Y/N slaps a hand over Wonwoo’s mouth (gently).
“No, Won, tell me you like me.” She laughs. She can feel his lips turn into a smile under her palm and then the faintest of kisses being pressed against it before he moves her hand. She lets out a small gasp at the bold yet comforting gesture.
“I like you.” Wonwoo repeats. “I really, really, really like you.”
“I told you so.” Y/N whispers shyly under her breath, feeling much better. She lets out a sigh that represented her four years of essentially pining for him (which Wonwoo is very much not aware of) “God, you were so awful for what you did.”
She punches him in the chest lightly, and he laughs.
Suddenly realizing how intimately he’s holding her, he retracts his hands, not having ever shared this much physical touch with her.
“I know, I know,” He’s rubbing his hands together anxiously. “I have issues. I distance people. I’m the worst,” Wonwoo lists.
She takes his hands from his hold and jokes, “Yes, yes, and yes.”
Y/N then lets go of his hands and nervously tucks some hair behind her ear.
“I have to confess a little something too.” Wonwoo nods, telling her to proceed.
She looks up at him after fixating on the scuff on his sneakers. “Um… I actually think I’ve liked you for longer than you’ve known me.” Wonwoo instantly tilts his head in confusion.
Y/N laughs, already prepared for him to not be aware of the silent crush she’s had on him since orientation.
“We actually met at freshmen orientation and I’ve maybe sort of liked you since then…” she reveals and his eyes go wide underneath his thick frames. “But don’t worry! I wasn’t like obsessing over you these past four years or something. I just thought you were cute and I never mustered up the courage to do something till the day I missed class for our group project. I guess I finally got lucky.”
Wonwoo is dumbfounded, not being able to imagine having had someone’s attention for that long, let alone Y/N’s.
“Wow.” Is all he says.
“Yeah… so I really do like you. So don’t you ever dare tell me I don’t like you ever again,” she threatens softly.
Wonwoo can’t help the flurry of heat he feels in chest that travels his way up to redden his pale complexion. To think he was going to deny himself the pleasure of being liked by her. But naturally, his nerves begin to settle.
“…Y/N, I’ve never really done anything like this before. Or I’ve never been successful at it.” He scratches the back of his head, embarrassed. “So if I’m bad at being like a boyfriend or something, I apologize in advance.”
Not the reaction he was expecting, she’s smiling widely at him. “Did you just ask me out?”
“Oh! Oh is that not what this is?” His eyes are wide again and now his cheeks are flushed for different reasons.
“If that’s what you want this to be, then it can be.” She grabs his hand again, giving him a comforting squeeze.
“I want it. I want you.”
Wonwoo finally admits.

the set up — rafe cameron
𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆: you've been one of the pogues since childhood, and your loyalty has always lied within your friend group, who is practically your family. when a threat by the name of rafe cameron begins to threaten the pogue's plans, they assign you to gain the trust of the dubious kook and keep an eye on what he's up to. however, now it's been six months since your friends set you up to spy on the kook prince himself, but what you didn't anticipate was to fall head over heels for the boy. your relationship had soon become inviolable shortly after your guys' first exchanges, much to your friends' dismay, and you two became practically inseperable. that was, until rafe discovers the truth.
𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴(𝘀): angst, cussing, mentions of alcohol use, some mentions of violence
𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: she's a bit of a long one so bare with me. there will likely be a part two!
It was 9 o'clock at night and your phone was abnormally barren and noiseless. Nightfall was creeping up on you before you knew it, distracted by the long day of galavanting at the chateau with your best friends'. On a typical day, by the time the sun was setting your boyfriend, Rafe, was eager to call you and maunder about his day. It never mattered what his schedule consisted of, whether it was golfing with topper and kelce, or working with his dad, he made it a part of his routine just to call you and hear your voice before the day was over.
However, this night was different. It was unusual for Rafe to not at least shoot you a text letting you know he wouldn't be calling for a bit, something he usually did when he was busy. Perhaps he was caught up in family matters with his dad and couldn't get to the phone? You thought. But it was still out of character for him not to find a way to contact you, even if it costed him being scorned by his dad.
You sat cross-legged at the foot of your bed, pondering. You began to feel an itching urge to text him and ask if everything was okay, but you hated feeling pushy and your pride was always one to get the best of you in most situations. The idea of texting Sarah soon came to mind and seemed like the best route to take without disturbing your boyfriend in the chance that he genuinely was extremely busy and couldn't get to the phone. You unlocked your phone and went straight to the iMessage app, immediately finding Sarah's contact and beginning to type out a quick message. But, before you hit send, your body began to feel hot and your hands went clammy. Your mind was beginning to get the best of you as it started to race with unnerving thoughts that clouded over your prior hopefulness. Despite how close you were with Sarah, you feared that if you were to ask her what Rafe was up to, she'd become aggravated at your nosiness. But by the growing hour, the urge to find out became overwhelming.
Your fingers shakily typed out a short, to-the-point message followed by them instantly hitting send.
*Y/N: hey, i haven't heard from rafe all day and i'm getting a little worried tbh. is everything okay??*
Your eyes flickered over the delivered message for what felt like a million times as you found it harder to sit still with the nimiety of anxiety coursing through your veins. Your foot tapped vigorously while you bit at your brittle nails. You couldn't seemed to get past the thought of something bad happening to the boy you loved so deeply, and the mere cogitation of the scenario made you feel sick to your stomach.
*SARAH: hey! that's odd. i have no idea, i haven't heard from anyone. maybe stop by my house and see what he's doing? i know wheezie is there, she'll let you in :)*
You breathed out a sigh of relief at her response, thanking the girl mentally for providing you some sort of response, although clarity was not fully provided and the answer as to what was up with Rafe still remained undetermined. But Sarah's message was enough solace to muster up the strength to head over to the Cameron's household, hoping with everything inside of you that your boyfriend was in there. Enough time had passed to where you didn't even care if it was just him ignoring your texts, you just needed to know if he was alright.
After a brief interval of stalling out of pure apprehension, you finally coaxed yourself into driving over to the Cameron's estate. Your legs sped down the stairs hurriedly, making your way passed the coat rack as you snatched the car keys off of it before sprinting out the front door without acknowledging your parents who watched you exit the house with an alarming haste. Their attempts to call out to you and ask where you were going went ignored as you were too focused on one specific thing - Rafe. You wanted to get to him, you needed to get to him.
The fifteen minute drive felt like two hours as you sped to your boyfriend's house, so eager to locate him that you barely realized the speed that you were going down residential areas. But you couldn't care less about anything else than the boy that was prominent in your mind, the one that you spent nearly every single day and night with over the last six months; some of the best in your life so far. Tears begin to prick at your eyes as you gave attention to the thought of losing Rafe, hating how vulnerable and manic you felt in that moment during the drive. Memories of the boy flooded through your thoughts, ones of him holding you as close as he possibly could while you two fell asleep entangled in one another, peppering soft kisses on your face and neck during early mornings just to wake you up because he knew how much you despised getting up before noon, and all the times he would go out of way just to make you happy. Everything about your relationship with Rafe was perfect, regardless of how much your friends' hated the fact that you were together, considering he was at the top of their enemy list.
Once the visual of the enormous white mansion came into view, your heart began to feel as if it was going to pop right out of your chest. Your foot nearly slammed into the floorboard as you raced onto the property's driveway, wasting no time to put the car in park and scurry up the steps that led to the front porch. With three swifts knocks at the door, you were quickly met with the familiar face of the beloved youngest Cameron sibling, Wheezie.
"Y/n! What are you doing here?" Wheezie questioned, a vaunting smile present on her freckled face.
"Hey Wheeze, have you seen Rafe anywhere? I haven't heard from him all day." You confessed timidly while you attempted to keep a calm composure around the adolescent girl, fearing that you'd alarm her if you expressed your true state of distress.
A noticeable frown grew on Wheezie's face in response to your inquiry, which automatically planted a nauseous feeling at the pit of your stomach. Her eyes averted from your gaze and fell to the ground in avoidance to your burning gaze of worry, "Rafe is.. In the kitchen. He got home a few minutes ago, but I feel like I should warn you before you go see him." She admitted diffidently with her stare still pinned at the ground just before your feet.
"What is it, Wheezie?" You catechized due to her visible hesitancy, a state you had only seen the young girl in once when she witnessed Rafe in a yelling match with is dad, one that nearly resulted in him hitting Ward straight in the face.
"He doesn't look very good, Y/n. When he came home he.. He looked like he was on something and he had blood on him. His eyes were all bloodshot, too. I've never seen him this angry before, I think something happened. I don't know what's gotten into him." Wheezie admitted hastily, displaying a sense of urgency that sent goosebumps across your chilled body.
"Okay, okay, it's alright, Wheeze. Just listen to me," you crouched down to meet her height, gripping onto her shoulders with a light squeeze, "go upstairs and close your door. Turn a movie on or play some music, yeah? Just promise me you'll stay in there until I come get you, okay?" You asserted earnestly with your first priority to remove the innocent girl who had fear plastered all over her face. She simply nodded in reply to your request, wasting no time before turning around and heading up the stairs. You waited until you heard the sound of a door closing before stepping foot into the household, your feet feeling like a ton of bricks as you approached the kitchen with caution.
Upon entrance, you were met with the sight of an extremely disheveled Rafe, worse than you had ever seen him before. His eyes were glossy and accompanied with a bloody red appearance over his scleras. Your eyes trailed down to the noticeable blood splatters stained onto his grey polo, an observtion that took the air out of your lungs and your mouth go dry.
"Rafe?" You mousily called out to the fretful boy that was pacing the kitchen while he ran his fingers through his hair in distress. The sound of your soft voice cause his body to come to a halt, freezing in place with his back still turned to you. The sound of a dry, menacing laugh erupted from your boyfriend's throat that broke the defeaning silence in the air. Your eyebrows furrowed, sensing that his hostility may be aimed at you.
"What do you want?" Rafe subtly scoffed in response, still refusing to turn around and look at you.
"I came to make sure you were okay," you spoke up with a timorous voice, "I was worried cause I haven't heard from you." You folded your arms as you stood in place, displaying an evidence lack of confidence in your body language.
"As if you care." He spun around which took you by surprise, getting a better look at the state of disarray he was truly in. The bags under his eyes painted a deep shade of bluish-purple as though he hadn't slept in the last 24 hours. To make matters worse, dried blood was present on his mouth and chin, seemingly from the laceration of an open wound on his bottom lip. You shivered once you noticed how his normally soft features were replaced with a look of anger and resentment.
"What are you talking about? You know how much I care about you, Rafe." You stated, defending your point as he seemed to question your fidelity towards him.
"Cut the bullshit, Y/n! Haven't you lied to me enough? Aren't you tired of keeping up with all these lies?" Rafe squinted his eyes down at you, pointing at you in an accusatory manner that made you flinch. He had never been aggressive with you, far from it. Truth be told, it frightened you to see him like this, especially with the stench of alcohol exuding from him potently.
"Rafe.." you squeaked, feeling small and powerless under his tall stature, "You're scaring me. I don't know what you're talking about. You need to calm-"
"Our whole relationship has been a fucking lie, Y/n! Even down to the moment we met, you and your little piece of shit Pogue friends had this all planned out. I bet you've told them every single thing I've told you, I fucking trusted you! I should've known you Pogues were no good. All you guys do is stick your noses in places they don't belong." Rafe spat at you causing you to stumble back from him some, your back hitting the wall as he cornered you against the wall.
"You can thank your beloved 'friend' JJ for telling me. Boy's got a mouth on him," Rafe snickered as he shook his head in disbelief as he recounted his interaction with the blond Pogue, "ran into him at the golf course and he was running his mouth as usual. Guess I pissed him off so much that he blurted your guys' whole plan out, trying to get a reaction out of me or whatever. Got the shit beat out of him instead." He snarled.
Tears formed in your eyes at the revelation of Rafe finding out about the foolish plan you and your friends came up with months ago. They were always suspicious of the unpredictable Kook, rightfully so, but their mistake was setting you up to gain the rapport of the unknowing boy, who couldn't help but to melt at the sight of you. It was an easy operation, with Rafe falling under your spell within the first three weeks of meeting. But, what they didn't anticipate was you falling for him just as much.
He scoffed again, interrupting your fit of choking sobs, "No, don't cry. Do not stand here with that look on your face like you're the victim in this. You have no idea, y/n, no idea what it did to me when I heard that, and from all people, JJ fucking Maybank."
"Rafe, please-"
"Stop! Stop," Rafe's voice began to break as his words trembled in sorrow, tears escaping his azure eyes, "I loved you, y/n. So much. Never in my life have I opened up to someone, gave someone so much, as I have to you. Every damn day I woke up, only wanting to talk to you. You were always the first thing on my mind, first thing in the morning, last thing at night. You.. You were everything to me, and to think this whole time it's been some fucking sick game to you. Running back to your worthless Pogue friends that are nothing but trouble. How could I be so stupid? Trusting a fucking Pogue like you." His words put wounds in your chest and tore at your heart from the pure hatred for you that exuded from them. You never imagined you'd be at the other end of Rafe's spiteful outbursts at the end of it all, but there you were, looking up at him with a cold look in his eyes.
"I'm sorry, Rafe. I'm sorry, okay? I know that doesn't fix this but I didn't plan for this to happen. I told them it would only be a month and I would be done, but then I fell in love with you. I didn't spend all that time with you because of them. Our agreement was only-"
"Our agreement," he scoffed at your words, "do you hear yourself? You're unbelievable. You think that makes me feel better? Oh, you were only supposed to manipulate me for a month? How generous of you." Rafe mocked back at you, the high levels of alcohol in his system causing him to slur his words some.
"I-I know, I know that nothing I say will make this better. I know that you'll never trust me and you'll hate me forever after this, but I'm so sorry, Rafe. I didn't mean for this to happen." You looked up at him with sincerity, a pleading look in your eyes.
"I don't hate you. That's the fucking problem." He muttered.
"What?" You questioned, confused at his admission.
"I don't hate you, y/n. Believe me, I wish I could right now, but I don't. You think after everything we've been through that I could just hate you like that? That easy? Y/n, you're the love of my life. Don't you get that? I wouldn't be in the state I'm in right now if I didn't love you. I don't know what to do, and I'm at a war with myself because one part of me needs you, and the other can't even stand to look you in the eyes right now." Rafe sighed as he combed a hand through his dirty blond hair. His harsh demeanor was beginning to slip as his features softened and was replaced with an appearance of sadness and void. It was clear that the boy was completely shattered, and it broke your heart. Your mind began racing in that moment, unsure of really what to do in order to comfort the heartbroken boy. Do you leave him be and rip the bandaid off? Was that too cold of you to do? Or were you supposed to hold him and tell him that everything was going to be alright, despite the uncertainty that things would be.
"Rafe.." Your words trailed off as you watched Rafe's bloody lip begin to tremble. He closed his glossy eyes at the sweet sound of your voice, only hurting him more to realize that he'd miss that beautiful noise. He hated how much he craved you, how much he needed you, because he told himself a million times than he could never trust you again after JJ's confession. But he couldn't bring himself to push you away, although you put him in the position he was in. Hurting him worse than anyone has in his entire life.
"I don't wanna think about it right now, okay? I can't.. I can't stand the thought of waking up without you, y/n. I mean call me fucking crazy, but fucking hell, I still love you. I don't know what's wrong with me." Your boyfriend broke down in sobs, tears streaming down his bruised face.
"There's nothing wrong with you, Rafe. You didn't deserve this." You shook your head at his insecurity, assuring him that none of this was on him.
"Please stay with me tonight, we can talk about this in the morning or whatever, but please." Rafe pleaded, looking down at you with a pitiful look on his face that made your heart swell. His hand was placed at your waist, with a fistful of your shirt in his grip, pleading to your with full sincerity.
"Of course I will."

Sleepless in Cabin 3
Percy Jackson x reader
Warnings: Blood of Olympus spoilers, mentions of insomnia, flashbacks, a makeout session, I think that’s it.
Authors note: This is my first time writing so let me know how I did :)
Summary: reader is having flashbacks to the battle against Gaia and hasn’t been sleeping. Goes to best friend Percy’s cabin for comfort.
Tossing and turning. That’s all I could do for the past 3 hours. Lights out was at 10 pm. It was now 1 o clock in the morning and I have not slept a wink. Every time I closed my eyes I saw the same things. Leo bursting into flames. Octavian being launched into the massive ball of fire in the air.
Now I didn’t care all that much for Octavian, but Leo was my best friend. I knew about his plan all along. He told me he was going to find Calypso, and he would be back. It was just so hard to believe after what I saw last week. I haven’t been able to sleep for days now.
After the battle I had collapsed in exhaustion, and I think that was the last time I really got any rest since then.
Camp was still being cleaned up and there was evidence of the battle everywhere. Reyna, who had become like my sister, left to go back to Camp Jupiter with Hazel and Frank. My whole life felt like it had been turned upside down in the matter of 7 days.
I was restless. Chiron had me meet up with some of the Apollo campers daily for “mental health reasons”, but it wasn’t helping in the way that he had hoped. The only thing that helped was being around my best friends, Percy and Annabeth.
They had been my best friends since I was 13. I first went on a quest with them to recover the Golden Fleece from a huge cyclops. Times have changed since then. The war against Kronos almost felt like child’s play compared to everything we’ve dealt with since then.
Percy’s disappearance alone was enough to send me into a crazed state for weeks. That was the first time I dealt with insomnia. He and I always had a special connection. One that nobody else understood. Percy could calm me down in a way that nobody else ever was capable of. If Annabeth wasn’t by my side in that time I think I really would’ve lost it.
Even when he and Annabeth fell into Tartarus I didn’t break down like this. I had Reyna and Leo to get me through it.
As I rolled over in my empty cabin for the millionth time, I had a flashback to that day that they fell into the pit of Tartarus.
If Percy hadn’t jumped in after her, I would’ve. He pushed me back before he jumped in. I stood there with my brother, Nico, looking down hopelessly and trying to figure out what to do.
The boy, who my brother and I both had adored, was begging us to meet him at the other side of Tartarus. He promised us that he would be there, that he would get out. I could feel my heart being ripped out as I looked at them, but Nico and I swore to it.
I so badly wanted to jump in after them, but I couldn’t do it. I knew that I had to help the others.
After that, I was in a crazed state. Completely and hopelessly hyperfixated on getting them out.
The thought alone made me nauseous, and I considered running to throw up in the bathroom.
It’s not like I would be bothering anyone. Every night after I fall asleep, or in this case, pretend to fall asleep, Nico sneaks off to go see his boyfriend, Will.
I’m not angry at him for it. I purposely pretend to sleep so that he doesn’t feel bad about going. I know he’s struggling as much as I am.
I take a deep breath, hoping that I can settle my mind. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t work. I lay there for another fifteen minutes, staring at my ceiling, before I decide to take action.
I stood up, put on my slippers, and quietly escaped my cabin- trying my best not to wake any other campers- or the harpies.
I knew exactly where I was going, though I wasn’t sure what would happen.
I hadn’t gone to his cabin this late at night since my nightmares after we’d escaped the Labyrinth. He used to really help me get through my feelings- that is, until Rachel came along.
The next summer, I found out that Rachel and Percy had been kissing, and after that I backed off. I know that now there isn’t anything between them, but Percy is my best friend, and I knew that I needed to keep it that way.
I quietly approached his door, knocking softly. I hoped that he was awake, but I knew the odds were slim. After no answer, I knocked again, slightly more desperate.
If he doesn’t answer this time, I’ll go. I thought.
After a minute, there was still no response so I turned around to head back to my cabin and brave the night ahead.
The door creaked slowly behind me, and I whipped around. Percy was standing there, looking like I had just woken him up from the best dream of his life.
“Hey.” I whispered, approaching hesitantly.
Without another word, he nods his head, gesturing for me to come into his cabin. Tyson wasn’t there. He had temporarily gone back to Camp Jupiter with Ella.
We both enter his silent cabin, and he shuts the door quietly behind us. The seasalt smell immediately hits me and all of my senses relax.
He sits on his bed and looks up at me, standing awkwardly. The idea seemed great, but now that I was standing in his room I wasn’t really sure what my plan was.
“What’s going on?” Percy asked, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
I looked down, suddenly feeling bad for waking him up. “I haven’t been sleeping.” I whispered.
“What?” He asks.
I repeat myself, “I haven’t been-“
“You haven’t been sleeping?” He asks, sounding slightly upset. He rests his elbows on his knees and puts his head in his hands.
I shake my head, feeling a blush over my face. I could feel my delirious brain and heavy eyes a little bit more now.
“And you’re just telling me now?” He asks, looking disappointed.
“I didn’t want to stress anyone out.” I say, smiling bashfully.
He rolls his eyes, patting the spot next to him.
“Think Chiron will give us a free pass if he finds us both in here?” He asks, obviously trying to make light of the situation.
I chuckle, nodding, but knowing that Chiron would do just about anything to help the campers right now. The thought reminded me even more about the battle.
Percy turns to lay back under his blankets, leaving an open space for me. This is exactly how we used to do it when I was having my nightmares.
I laid down in my spot, trying to get comfortable. I stared at the ceiling, immediately feeling more drowsy than I did in my room.
We both lay there in silence for a few minutes, before l hear the blankets rustle and turn my head to see Percy facing me.
I turn to face him too.
He purses his lips and furrows his eyebrows, scanning my face, before asking, “Why did you ever stop coming in here?”
I look at him nervously, realizing that we were finally going to have this conversation. “You and Rachel…” I trail off, not knowing what else to say.
His eyes instantly widen, “me and Rachel?” He asks.
I nod. “I didn’t want to get in the way of anything if you guys…” I pause, choosing my words, “if you guys were like, together or anything.”
He scans my face, as if trying to determine if I’m joking. He lets out a small laugh, “Rachel and I were never together. I thought you knew that.”
I shake my head, eyes focusing on anything but his face.
He chuckles again, and I tuck my head into his chest, attempting to end the conversation there, but he decided to continue, “You know,” he paused, wrapping an arm around me to play with my hair, “when Beckendorf came to get me for our mission? Remember that?”
I nod, unsure of where this was going.
“Well, he saw Rachel kiss me.”
I tensed, uncomfortable with this conversation.
“Then after we left her, to go to the ship,” he continued, “do you know what he said to me?”
I shook my head.
“He said, ‘I’m assuming you don’t want me to tell Y/N about that, right?’” Percy said, continuing to play with my hair.
“Really?” I asked, confused, “Why?”
He was silent for long enough for me to wonder if he even heard me before he spoke up again. “Because I didn’t want you to know.”
I pulled away, looking up at his face. I scrunched my eyebrows together out of confusion. “Why not? We tell each other everything.”
He raises his eyebrows, shaking his head, “Really?”
“What?” I asked.
He opened his mouth as if to say something, then closed it again. His eyes scanned my face again before wrapping an arm around me and pulling me back into his chest.
I finally start to doze off, feeling my body relax. Before I am completely asleep I can feel a soft kiss being placed on the top of my head. Before I can even feel the butterflies that come from it, I fall sound asleep.
I wake up before the sun is up, unsurprisingly. I’m happy to have gotten even a few hours of sleep.
I turn on my side to see Percy snoring softly with a line of drool coming down from his mouth. I giggle quietly before moving away a little bit.
I debate going back to my cabin, so that I don’t get caught in here. The last thing any of us needed right now was to deal with rumors about us sleeping in the same cabin together.
I sit up, my eyes scanning for my slippers in the dark room. Just as I find them I hear stirring behind me.
“What are you doing?” Percy asks groggily.
I turn to see him rubbing his eyes again and suddenly feel guilty for waking him up two times now.
“I was just going to sneak out before I get caught in here.” I whisper, reaching down to put my slippers on.
“Stay,” he whispered, eyes closed.
I smiled, looking at how peaceful he looked in that moment.
I shake my head, but rest a hand on his arm. “I shouldn’t.” I whisper.
He groans, turning closer to me and opens his eyes. He looks up at me, slowly reaching up as he brushes a strand of my hair out of my face.
“I’ll cover for you in the morning.” He whispers softly, looking at me hopefully.
I smile but shake my head, “If anyone finds out I stayed here…” I whisper, “you know how they all talk.”
He looks at me for a moment, and then another moment, eyes scanning my face, before responding, “You know everyone already thinks we’re together, right?”
My eyes widen in shock, completely taken aback and unsure if I heard him right. “Us? Like- you and me? Together?”
He nods, looking straight into my eyes, eyebrows furrowed.
“Why?” I ask, incredibly confused. I had never heard this before and I had never told anyone how I really felt. Not even Annabeth.
He stared incredulously at me for another moment, before whispering, “Are you kidding? I really can’t tell.”
I shook my head and shrugged.
“Well… we’re together all the time. You used to sleep here. When I went missing and got amnesia you were the only person I could remember. I almost lost it when you got hurt in the battle in manhattan…” he searched my face for my reaction, “I can keep going if you want.”
I shook my head, understanding. “I guess that kind of makes sense.”
He nodded, looking at me as if he was waiting for me to say something else.
I stared at him for a moment, before my delirium allowed me to ask a rather bold question.
“What do you think about that?” I whispered, looking into his eyes.
His gaze felt heavy. He stared straight into my eyes, coughing, before saying, “Uhhh… what do you mean?”
I shook my head, “Nevermind.” I whispered.
He grabbed my hand, looking directly into my eyes, before saying, “About what everyone says? Or about us being together?”
“Both.” I whisper, staring straight back at him.
He pauses for a moment, looking down at our hands, then back into my eyes. “I think they have a point. And I think that they’re right. That we are basically together. Unless you’re thinking something different?”
I nodded slowly, thinking about all of the years that I’ve brushed off other boys because I didn’t have eyes for them like I do for him. I thought about all the time that we spent apart, and how it felt like a piece of me was missing. I thought about the battle of manhattan, when I saw him fighting and I had never felt such pride in my heart before. I knew it all along, I just didn’t know how to show it.
“It’s not that easy though, seaweed brain. We’re not basically together until you ask me out.” I chuckle, looking back down at him and realizing how intently he’s looking at me.
I slowly kick off my shoes and lay back down next to him. He still is looking at me intently and hasn’t said a word.
“What’s wrong?” I whisper, after another moment of silence.
He shakes his head, looking deeply into my eyes, and I see his gaze flicker to my lips for a millisecond.
Suddenly I can feel my heartbeat pick up. I’m now aware of every centimeter of my body that is close to his. It’s like all of my senses are dialed to 11.
Before I can even think twice I lean forward just slightly and he immediately grabs my face and his lips are on mine.
The kiss is soft, slow, and everything I could’ve ever imagined.
I can feel his hesitation, almost like he’s afraid I’ll pull away if he makes the wrong move.
I reach my hand around the back of his head and run my hand through his hair, bringing him closer to me. The kiss slowly becomes more passionate, my heart rate accelerating.
I don’t think either of us can hold back anymore. I tilt my head slightly, it’s like something inside me snaps. The kiss is intense, full of years of love and yearning toward one another. His hand moves slowly under the hem of my sleep shirt, shakey fingers trailing up my back, and I gasp into his mouth, enjoying the new sensation.
We had been close before, but never like this.
I hear Percy groan quietly, the sound beautiful but desperate, and my body is suddenly on fire. His other hand reaches to the back of my next to pull me even closer, deepening the kiss so that our tongues are dancing with each other. I can feel him breathing heavily as his hands explore my skin, fingers digging in in a way I never knew I needed.
My hands run through his hair, one leaving to clutch his shoulder, pulling him even closer to me. Percy’s mouth moves to my jaw, trailing hot, open-mouthed kisses down my neck, and I bite my lip to keep from making a sound, but it’s impossible. I let out a soft gasp, pressing even further into him.
“Gods,” Percy groans against my neck, continuing to bury his face into my neck and collarbone, definitely leaving marks that he knows he shouldn’t be. Especially not if I’m walking out of his cabin in the morning. His lips find mine again, but this time it feels more frantic, like we’re both on the verge of losing control. His hands are fully under my shirt now, his touch insistent, and I can’t help the small groan that escapes me.
I can’t stand it anymore as I tug at his shirt, pulling it up, desperate to feel more. He helps me, urgently pulling it over his head before desperately crashing his mouth back onto mine. His skin feels incredibly warm, his muscles tensing beneath my touch as I slowly run my nails down his chest. He groans into the kiss, kicking my legs with his own so that he can move to hover over me.
I can feel my back press into the mattress as Percy hovers over me, the weight of it making me shiver. His hands roam lower, gripping my hips roughly, and his mouth never stops—kissing, biting, trailing heat down my neck and back up again to capture my lips. Every move, every touch, is more desperate, more intense, and I can feel the years of pent-up tension between us boiling over.
We continue like this for longer than we should, desperately grabbing onto each others skin, mouths all over eachothers faces and necks, before we finally allow the kiss to slow down. The kiss fades to a soft, gentle one, and we slowly pull away.
I stare into his eyes, feeling a blush cover my face when I realize that this is real, and that just happened. He has the same look on his face as me, breathing heavy. His hair is all out of place and part of me wants to continue where we left off and mess up his hair a little more.
I bite my lip, holding back the smile that is trying to take over my face. He grins at me, his eyes sparkling.
“We’re definitely doing that again.” He smirks at me playfully.
“What took you so long?” I ask, nudging his arm and letting him lay back down beside me.
He shrugged, “Was never the right time. Can’t say I haven’t thought about it though. Maybe a little too much…” he trailed off.
I rolled my eyes, smacking his arm playfully before realizing how exhausted I had become.
“Can we go back to sleep?” I whisper, tucking my head into his chest again.
He nods, pressing a kiss on my head, and this time I feel the whole swarm of butterflies invade my stomach. I smile, and doze off.
