Anthony & Benedict Bridgerton [4/?] | Bridgerton 3x05

My criticsm about season 3

only involving characters and storylines I cared about

Kate and Anthony:

My babies, I love them, their storyline wasn’t cohesive nor is their pregnancy timeline and „bump evolution“ in any way understandable timeline whise.

Anthony who was still triggered by hyacinths birth simply wouldn’t take a pregnant Kate on a month long crossing of the seas to India (especially this pregnant)

Additionally they would have stayed for Francesca’s wedding and waited those few days, otherwise her little moments with the family and each other were adorable, but them just coming and going and not caring about duties is very ooc.

Francesca:

I adored her from the start and her more quiet love with John, but their lovestory was nonetheless big and full of feelings, the show sadly made it seem in episode 8 like she regretted it especially after the kiss it looks like doubt/no sexual chemistry and that makes me very sad. It doesn’t matter if Michael is a man like in the books or a woman like in the show I expected a portrayal of that deep love on screen, not only platonic love!

Benedict:

His storylines have been repetitive since season 1 with no linear character development and it kinda annoys me. I always headcannoned him as pansexual and that’s now seemingly confirmed, but apart from that he feels just as immature and Aimless as we learned before. It didn’t feel like an organic set up for a season 4 lead.

Gregory and Hyacinth:

My only criticism is that I wanted more of them on screen.

Eloise:

I can’t belief I will say this, but Cressida deserved better. I truly liked their friendship in part 1 and after learning her upbringing her behaviour is more understandable. If she could forgive pen with such ease she should have learned to react different to Cressida and she was very self-centred when Cressida did have a truly awful future in front of her, I fully understood why she chose the way out (the criticism of the Bridgerton was obviously out of line, but it’s not like Penelope didn’t write awful things about them before (calling Kate a beast and destroying Marina publicly, a young pregnant woman without any help, will always have her on my shit list).

Violet:

Her not showing Francesca that she approached her engagement totally different to Polins broke my heart. She truly doesn’t know how to handle her kids apart from Colin successfully.

Will and Alice:

Their inheritance explanation going through the female line will forever confuse me, but they and their kids are adorable and I absolutely loved the Kate/gregory/hyacinth/mondrichs scene.
