I don't know how confessionals work but i know theres like a wall with a screen thing. can they slide the little screen out of the way or have a little secret slot they can hold hands/maybe kiss through?
#I think typically the grille is mounted in place and can't be opened#the whole point of the traditional confessional is to put a physical and mental barrier between the peninent and the confessor#to establish some sense of anonymity and confidentiality#but maybe if the holes in the lattice permitted it you might be able to do a tiny bit of handholding#own art#own characters#CanisAlbus#Machete#Vasco#spectralan0maly

Some Yveltal sketches (curated from my main blog, there's some lore in the tags if you're interested.)
#Feel like my pokemon followers here would enjoy some good eats.#Yveltal are very dedicated parents. They sometimes care for the chicks even long after they've fledged.#But they have some god awful sight and don't have the best of scent receptors.#Adult Yveltal don't eat in the traditional sense. They don't need to hunt or scavenge. They passively consume the life force of the well. L#So over time those senses have just degraded.#Which leads them very vulnerable to brood parasitism.#A pokemon whose chick is black and red can easily be passed off as a Yveltal chick.#Due to this their population is horrifically low.#Legendary as they are. They aren't that well off considering how things are going.#my art#pokemon#Yveltal#Pokémon but worse!#Pkmn#Pkmn fanart#pokemon fanart#pokemon art#pokemon XY#pokemon yveltal#all the tags buster.

for a while i lived in an old house; the kind u.s americans don't often get to live in - living in a really old house here is super expensive. i found out right before i moved out that the house was actually so old that it features in a poem by emily dickinson.
i liked that there were footprints in front of the sink, worn into the hardwood. there were handprints on some of the handrails. we'd find secret marks from other tenants, little hints someone else had lived and died there. and yeah, there was a lot wrong with the house. there are a lot of DIY skills you learn when you are a grad student that cannot afford to pay someone else to do-it-for-ya. i shared the house with 8 others. the house always had this noise to it. sometimes that noise was really fucking awful.
in the mornings though, the sun would slant in thick amber skiens through the windows, and i'd be the first one up. i'd shuffle around, get showered in this tub that was trying to exit through the floor, get my clothes on. i would usually creep around in the kitchen until it was time to start waking everyone else up - some of them required multiple rounds of polite hey man we gotta go knocks. and it felt... outside of time. a loud kind of quiet.
the ghosts of the house always felt like they were humming in a melody just out of reach. i know people say that the witching hour happens in the dark, but i always felt like it occurred somewhere around 6:45 in the morning. like - for literal centuries, somebody stood here and did the dishes. for literal centuries, somebody else has been looking out the window to this tree in our garden. for literal centuries, people have been stubbing their toes and cracking their backs and complaining about the weather. something about that was so... strangely lovely.
i have to be honest. i'm not a history aficionado. i know, i know; it's tragic of me. i usually respond to "this thing is super old" by being like, wow! cool! and moving on. but this house was the first time i felt like the past was standing there. like it was breathing. like someone else was drying their hands with me. playing chess on the sofa. adding honey to their tea.
i grew up in an old town. like, literally, a few miles off of walden pond (as in of the walden). (also, relatedly, don't swim in walden, it's so unbelievably dirty). but my family didn't have "old house" kind of money. we had a barely-standing house from the 70's. history existed kind of... parallel to me. you had to go somewhere to be in history. your school would pack you up on a bus and take you to some "ye olden times" place and you'd see how they used to make glass or whatever, and then you'd go home to your LEDs. most museums were small and closed before 5. you knew history was, like, somewhere, but the only thing that was open was the mcdonalds and the mall.
i remember one of my seventh grade history teachers telling us - some day you'll see how long we've been human for and that thing has been puzzling me. i know the scientific number, technically.
the house had these little scars of use. my floors didn't actually touch the walls; i had to fill them with a stopgap to stop the wind. other people had shoved rags and pieces of newspaper. i know i've lost rings and earring backs down some of the floorboards. i think the raccoons that lived in our basement probably have collected a small fortune over the years. i complain out loud to myself about how awful the stairs are (uneven, steep, evil, turning, hard to get down while holding anything) and know - someone else has said this exact same thing.
when i was packing up to leave and doing a final deep cleaning, i found a note carved in the furthest corner in the narrow cave of my closet. a child's scrawled name, a faded paint handprint, the scrangly numbers: 1857.
we've been human for a long time. way back before we can remember.
#idk if it's still tradition but the kids at the local school next to walden when I went there#used to have a tradition where u had to pee in walden pond before u graduated or otherwise you'd fail one of your classes#as someone who did not do this im happy to report i did fail a class so maybe they had a point#they've torn the school down tho so who knows#i hope this makes sense#i think we've been human longer than we've been writing#ps this land was taken over by hostile combatants and colonialized . let us not forget that part of the reason#our 'history' is so short. is that we have systematically slaughtered the people who had history here before

I started drawing this next day after I finished Act 6
13 or so days and it's finished!
Main things are traditional and Loop's body was edited digitally after
Unedited it looks like this
I've been torn on how to do Loop's body for the entirety of lining, also
A bit sad the main lines are visible only as a wip, most of this thing is literally just a ton of sharp lines
I think it's also my first day of drawing, Loop is just a sketch here (feat. my leg)
I even finished the beans before it so they were a moral support, because if you let me things like this take a year
#fanart#my art#isat#isat fanart#in stars and time#isat loop#loop#traditional art#artists on tumblr#Phew#So anyway this was my way of figuring out my thoughts after finishing the game#I didn't even actually finish it with credits playing at that moment#This type of art is my therapy#And in a way literally how my personality works from big figures to small details of thinking about anything#It's really calming!#I won't tag paper figures but they're here#Like special guests#In any case the funniest thing was showing this to my English teacher and she was like 'wow this looks stressed' or something#Like she immediately looked at the lines and after I showed her my old Flowey drawing like this she was like#'oh it makes sense! This one looks calm but this one is clearly you not feeling good'#Because I was kinda#Like sitting there in the semi-park and feeling sick since morning before I started drawing this and slowly I got better#I already talked about this on my first 'big' isat thing - I needed to think a bit#And not think at the same time just literally letting myself sort stuff out#Like. I fell asleep at 6 am that day and woke up at 10 4 hours of sleep after playing full Act 5 and two hats stuff IS STRESSFUL#SUPER STRESSFUL! Like I felt like I was playing for 4 hours while sleeping#Anyway by the time I finished it aka today I'm feeling way better and I'm literally talking a walk right now#Touching grass as we speak#Anyway phew!#Now to that animatic that's plaguing my mind to draw it nowww

I saw Miku at the village festival the other week trust me
#i drew Miku in an arbereshe traditional outfit for a trend on Twitter but lemme tell you something fun about the arbereshe culture#since the arbereshe are the descendants of Albanian people who fled their country as it was getting conquered by the Ottoman empire#over the course of CENTURIES#there are different arbereshe traditions#however they all (songs poems etc) revolve around the theme of “loss of the homeland”#but since centuries have passed nowadays nobody really feels a sense of sadness and longing for Albania#which means that at festivals ppl laugh and dance and sing songs that... have very sad lyrics lol#stuff like this SHOULD be in some fantasy setting it's A++ worldbuilding material#(now the actual tags)#hatsune miku#vocaloid#miku fanart#mikuhatsune#colorful#dramisdrawn#arbereshe

What happens when a Jedi Initiate dies?
It cannot always be prevented, the galaxy is a dangerous place, especially for children, and the Jedi are still only mortal.
Accidents happen. Illnesses exist.
Tragedies do too.
The Crèchemasters are highly trained to prevent that, of course, but they too are only mortal. They too can fail.
The death of an Initiate is a heavy burden, for the entire Temple. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it is a heavy burden. It is from that burden that one of the Order's most sacred traditions stems from.
They may die an Initiate, but they will not join the Force without guidance.
When an Initiate dies, they automatically gain the rank of Padawan – no matter their age. They will posthumously be taken in by a Master and be gifted a braid and a lineage. If they already found their crystal and built their saber, these too will be taken care of by their new Master.
Some Masters of such Ghost-Padawans, especially those who had a bond before their passing, will live the following years as if they had a living student. They will not take on another until the Force or they themselves deems them ready, at which point the High Council will hold a honorary Knighting.
Because while the Order might lose an Initiate, no Initiate will ever be left alone.
#a bit of#star wars meta#for your consideration :)#inspired by the concept of ghost marriages#and my staunch belief that the jedi are found family galore#for a people that has one of its core tenants be 'there is no death only the force' such a tradition would simply make sense#star wars headcanons#star wars#me writing#random boli thoughts#the jedi#jedi order#jedi padawan#also you know the inherent tragedy of other padawans of the same master having a lineage sibling that never was alive to meet them#and the beauty of them still counting as full members of a lineage#jedi as found family#to put it in ao3 terms :)

i am not an animator but the few animations i have made it really does feel like magic when it comes together. i used to think the way disney (especially older disney) talked about their animation as magical that they were being cheesy and sentimental but after actually trying it myself i totally get it. seeing all the pictures you drew come to life at the end it feels like it has its own soul or something
#esp for traditional animation (not that im experienced enough in either but esp digital to rly judge)#but editing together scans of physical drawings and seeing them come to life and move is so incredible#like i can hold the physical drawings of all the frames and see them in this totally different form on screen#like a seperate entity its crazy#does any of this make sense#mad respect to animators lol#also what makes traditional animation (the way I’ve done it at least) so satisfying#is that I don’t scan each frame once it’s done I do them all at the end#(I do this with the rough sketch animation frames first to make sure it moves normal)#so I only get to see it in motion at the end

Eternal Bonds: Tim and Danny’s Infinite Realms Marriage
In the Infinite Realms, marriage is an unparalleled commitment. Unlike the mortal world, where love can be fleeting and easily undone, marriage in the Realms is something far more sacred. It’s not just about vows or ceremonies—it’s about merging souls, creating a bond that not even the vast stretches of time can sever. The very idea of marriage in the Realms is rare, almost mythical, because it requires two beings to love each other so profoundly that they’re willing to bind their very existence to one another.
For the ghosts and entities that reside in this realm, eternity isn’t just a poetic idea—it’s a reality. Time is meaningless when you’re no longer alive, when your very essence is bound to the afterlife. And because of this, relationships are viewed through a different lens. There’s no such thing as divorce, no “time apart.” Once a couple is bound, their souls are intertwined forever. To dedicate your entire being—past, present, and future—to another means accepting that their joys, sorrows, triumphs, and failures will be yours too. It’s a partnership where breaking the bond is simply impossible.
It’s why marriage is such a rare occurrence in the Realms. The ghosts, who have already lived one life and often seen the frailty of mortal promises, don’t enter into this kind of bond lightly. It’s only for the strongest of loves, for the most steadfast of commitments. Because once you marry in the Infinite Realms, that bond holds through eternity itself.
And yet, despite the gravity of it all, Tim and Danny find themselves willing to make that very commitment. Tim, a mortal tied to a world where things end, where nothing lasts forever, steps into the unknown. His love for Danny is so deep, so unshakable, that he agrees to a traditional Infinite Realms marriage. He knows full well the weight of it—he’s not just vowing to love Danny in this life, but in every life after. In swearing to this bond, Tim is offering his entire being to Danny, for now and all of eternity.
For Danny, this choice means even more. As a halfa, he exists between two worlds, knowing both the mortality of the living and the permanence of the ghostly afterlife. His love for Tim is powerful enough that he’s willing to make this eternal commitment, knowing that there’s no one else in any world—mortal, ghostly, or beyond—he would rather be tied to. For Danny, the bond is as natural as breathing. It’s a connection that deepens their relationship in a way that transcends the limitations of their two worlds.
Their marriage isn’t just a declaration of love—it’s a merging of souls, a binding that makes them two parts of the same whole. It overwhelms them with the sense of safety and belonging that they’ve both craved in their lives. In each other, they find the kind of love that doesn’t just endure life’s difficulties but thrives beyond them. Their bond ties them together forever in a way that no one else could understand, but to Tim and Danny, it’s everything.
They are each other’s home. And in the Infinite Realms, there is no greater honor, no stronger connection, than to be bound by love for all of eternity.
#brain dead#dead tired#tim drake#danny phantom#danny fenton#dc x dp#i totally think that marriage should be a sacred thing in the afterlife because you are promising to love someone for all eternity#eternity in a very literal sense btw#tim and danny should also just be undeniable soulmates in like every world ever#you can also totally make this angsty depending on how you think tim will end up in the realms#i had a few ideas#an interesting route could be that the traditional Infinite Realms marriage alters Tim fundamentally#turning him into a halfa like Danny#this transformation would ensure that they are not only emotionally and spiritually bonded#but also physically tied to the same plane of existence#another being tim might age much slower almost as if he’s been granted an extended lifespan#so that they can share a near-eternity together#he would still be alive but his mortality would be stretched out far beyond a normal human lifespan#i think this one is more devastating tho:#danny has to watch tim grow old while he remains ageless or only ages very slowly#but because the wedding binds their souls in the afterlife tim would not truly leave danny forever upon death#instead the moment tim's mortal life ends his soul could be drawn into the infinite realms to live with danny for eternity#agh theres just so much potential for this idea!! so many things i can add and have thought abt that would be so interesting to see!#i'm so in love with this concept

Imagine, if in two thousand years, everyone was obsessed with Omelas.
Alright, not everyone obviously. But you'd be hard pressed to find someone who didn't at least know its name. You were absolutely told the story as a child, might even have watched a movie or played a game about plucky kids rescuing the child of Omelas from their cell and taking down the city's corrupt priesthood. You definitely have vague memories of browsing the holo-channels as a kid on a sick day and watching a documentary about how the city fell, analyzing the texts of the historian Le Guin, and attempting to track down its "true" location.
There are whole societies dedicated to that question. Not just people on the Feed Boards, but like, actual archeologists and historians (that's how they describe themselves, at least) who literally head out to various moons and dwarf planets, doing all sort of complicated scans and digging up rock formations and old habitat ruins that they claim, based on ancient texts, to be a prime candidate for where Omelas was located.
It goes deeper than that, you realise later, if you dig deeper. There are entire belief systems based on Omelas. Many claim that Omelians were not humans at all, but actually advanced aliens or even gods, who granted humanity the first technology for space flight. There are political parties, some quite popular-- and powerful-- who claim descent from the Omelians, and who argue that descent makes them rightfully superior to all other races. These people rarely, if ever, bring up how the moral question at the story's heart about the Omelian's corruption. Omelians were wise and just and powerful, obviously, and that's why they should be in charge now.
This is what happened to Plato's story of Atlantis.
#atlantis#mythology#sort of#i would argue atlantis isn't even a myth in the traditional sense but it really has become one#anyway i was watching a video on the Nazi's beliefs in this stuff and it just struck me again how Wild it is#also thinking about how Anne Leckie was So Right in her Imperial Radch verse#about how almost every culture has segements arguing how Their planet is the birthplace of humanity

Four swords adventure gang
This link has one of the bigger depatures from both sprite and game art, but i'll explain in the tags
Also no funny page but cooler pose so~
#tloz#princess zelda#link#four swords adventures#art#my art#redesign#loz redesigns round 2#this link and zelda went through so many changes i swear#but yeah when differentiating between the f-s and fsa sprites there arent many differences#zeldas sprite being slightly warmer and having a slightly different hairstyle#and losing the cape and just generally a bunch of details#meanwhile link just has slightly longer ears#so when debating what to do with link i decided this one would have a white tunic with a dark undershirt#being rgb additive and subtractive#i figured it made sense for it to fit this link as he had the longer adventure#so he has a more visible change from using the four sword more/for longer#whereas i just gave f-s link multicolored tinting to his tunic-vest#so f-s has the more traditional coloring but less traditional outfit#i figured it was a fair trade-off#and seeing as they have a longer/harder journey theyre also older than the f-s pair#which is also why i traded the bow in zeldas hair out for a crescent hair fork
