Vertigo Eyes - II
Armed with only a new-found sense of purpose, Sunday makes a trip to the Belobog History and Culture Museum after the Express receives a request for consideration. History is so often writ with blood that should never have been spilled and the mistakes of those who think they know best. And Sybilla is running out of time. Sunday/Original Female Character; slow burn, liberties taken with world building and lore, eventual smut. Posted on AO3 here.
Sybilla extended her arms before her, eyes focused on the white partition over Natasha’s shoulder. Gloved hands pressed into her skin and rotated her arms, fingers tracing patterns that were second nature to the physician by now. Despite the severely discolored skin across her fingers and forearms, her limbs were wholly functional, if occasionally sensitive.
She winced as Natasha pricked a section with splintered golden veins and then injected an irritant, the blackened skin forming a tiny bubble. It receded as usual, leaving only a trace mark that would, in time, fade.
“Normal reaction; your immune system still functions and doesn’t attack your body, not like before. That’s a good sign. The corrosion hasn’t spread further, but...”
Natasha lowered the woman’s arms and moved to mark down a note, her expression neutral. Sybilla pulled her shirt back over her arms, hiding most of the affected areas.
He did that, too. Grew quiet when the findings were average but still relatively concerning. Vache was more obvious about when he had an immediate idea to try.
“But it’s not stable,” Sybilla surmised, fixing her eyes on the other woman.
“Further tests will provide more clarity,” Natasha replied. “It’s better compared to where you were years ago. Dormancy may be impossible and there’s still so much we don’t understand. I hate entertaining it but if you want answers, you might be better off—”
Sybilla glared, Natasha’s words dying under the withering hazel gaze.
“You of all people know why I would never subject myself to the IPC, Nat,” she said lowly.
She would be nothing more than a lab rat. Poked and prodded and interrogated as to how…
“Let’s see what the other tests find,” Natasha replied, voice gentle. “Your cell counts have been relatively normal as of late. If you weren’t a Pathstrider, this might not be so complicated. I could likely treat it as I did those who suffered from the Everwinter. We’ll find a way. Same time next week unless I call you.”
Sybilla tried to return Natasha’s comforting smile but a pang of melancholy prevented the corners of her mouth from stretching any wider. Once the doctor departed, she threw on her coat and wrapped her scarf around her neck, habitually feeling for flyaway hairs as she headed out into the morning cold.
The walk from Boulder Town up to the Administrative District was busier than the reverse at this hour, full of people on their way to work and children on their way to school. Belobog was alive now that the two sectors were open and traffic was flowing again. As Sybilla trekked up the pathway with the rest of the commuters, some of the earlier heaviness fell away when she watched a group of kids blaze ahead, backpacks rocking as they went.
She assessed her phone when she arrived at the surface. Time to spare and then some. Natasha was always punctual when it came to appointments before work. It was better news than expected and that deserved a small celebration. There was always coffee to spare in the break room but nothing hit the spot more than Hotel Goethe’s signature blend.
Her detour and order didn’t take long and before she knew it, the warm cup between her palms was easing the ache in her fingers. Most experience such pains to the cold, a completely normal reaction to winter in general, let alone the all-engulfing Everwinter. But her corrosion was worse, as though the remnants were trying to fight off another presence her immune system didn’t understand. Ever since the Stellaron was taken care of, it eased significantly, but her body was still seemingly confused when confronted with prolonged exposure to colder temperatures.
Sybilla made a mental note to bring it up at her next appointment as her eyes scanned the crowd ahead of her. Her gaze caught on a tall man with light gray (or was it silver?) hair, his visage further enhanced with a set of folded wings peeking out of a scarf and a bronze halo, adorned with…were those thorns?
She wasn’t the only one stealing glances at him. A low hum in the crowd and a few low whispers told her that he was the center of attention as everyone began crossing the street to the next block. Halovians were non-existent in Belobog, a byproduct of the isolation. There were a few back on Romulus-IX but even then. Their charisma lent itself to planets with bustling populations and situations where strategic planning was a necessity, not just a skill. Despite his attempt to merely blend into the crowd, Sybills could feel an air of certainty and ethereal charm as she got closer.
He reminded her of the ancient paintings from Amber Eras long since passed. A pang ran through her; there were few words to describe him that came to mind and her heart ached when she noticed his eyes as he turned his head to assess the next intersection.
Few ever had such sad eyes.
At the next block, a few stragglers continued through the last few seconds of the pedestrian light, jaywalking in time. The Halovian was going to attempt the same just as an engine roared up the street and a flash of sunlight on a windshield caught in her peripheral.
Sybilla’s right hand shot out and found purchase on the golden sash that hung neatly from the Halovian’s shoulder. Her glove hid the texture from her but it was silken, soft, and clearly handmade. She smoothed out the crease she made and stepped back as soon as she saw his feet were firmly planted back on the sidewalk.
She stole a final glance up at him as she passed him to continue once the light turned, casting a quick smile in the Halovian’s direction. Navy and golden eyes, startled and a little dazed.
What could possibly have a handsome man like that so lost in thought that he put himself and others in danger like that? Surely life isn’t that difficult for a Halovian…
She scratched the last bit from her thoughts but bitterness seeped through her all the same and sent an ache up her right arm. Stupid. The last thing she needed or wanted was to draw attention to herself. Exert herself unnecessarily.
She finally entered the museum’s side entrance and said good morning to security as she navigated the back corridors up to her office, thoughts racing. An occasional sip of coffee pushed away her remaining focus on the stranger and the ache still present in her arm. Odd pains were common. Yes, he was handsome and a Halovian and seemingly lost but he wasn’t a puppy. He would be fine. Ideally, he even learned his lesson about spacing out while navigating morning traffic.
For all she knew, he was IPC. A Stoneheart, even. After their last visit, it wasn’t unfathomable that they might try to slip someone in undetected to monitor Belobog. Maybe she should have let him walk into traffic. One less cog in the trash compactor of the universe…
Sybilla arrived at her office and hung up her coat and scarf, the worn material draped carefully over the arm of the coat rack. Briefly, she removed her gloves and ran her fingers over the stitches. They were just as soft as when she first made them, back when—
Her thought was fractured as her phone rang, loud and sharp. She covered her hand again and picked up the receiver only to be told her guest was in the lobby. Sybilla stole a glance at her computer’s clock. They were early.
And therefore, they could wait.
She sorted through her notes and old files after pulling them from her bag. Sybilla lingered on a photograph, familiar faces grinning despite the circumstances, proud of their creations. She took a deep breath and then closed the file, checking that everything was in the right order to present.
The Astral Express was a friend to Belobog, and certainly to Lady Bronya. For years, a private meeting with a member at all to discuss this had been nothing short of a dream for Sybilla. One last chance to right the course.
Sybilla descended into the lobby and galleries only a few minutes before the appointment time. The staff volunteer at the front desk was whispering to another docent and judging from the looks on their faces, they were clearly talking about someone in particular.
“Have you ever seen someone as gorgeous as him? That smile. And so polite.”
“He shouldn’t hide his wings but I wonder if they’re cold in this weather…”
Wings…surely not…
“You’re so lucky, Sibby. Have a good meeting!” the docent stage-whispered.
Sibylla schooled her face as she entered the galleries and for a moment, she felt her heart stop altogether. The morning light trickling in from the skylights always made these spaces feel sacred and the vitrines were strategically placed to further emphasize the notion. White and navy fabric were bathed in light and a thorn-crested halo threw little reflections back across the walls. The curator held back a laugh as she crossed the room.
The Astral Express member was him? Fuli was playing a cruel joke on her now. Had to be.
“Glad to see you’re a little more grounded now, sir.”

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEAAAASE!!!!! tell me about your huhhhhh fem skk au .... actor dazai.. band chuuya. idk where the post went i think it was you, i beg, on my hands and knees i love them. plzplzplz (agree with ur tags btw me2:(( )
I AMMM THE PERSON WITH AUU THANK YOU FOR ENABLING MEEEEEE- ehem hi hallo i am yes hi sudhsudjs okay ya uhhhhh hm im not sure where to start from where left off- rant got long so under cut is more :>
but pretty much soukoku as an idol group til the photographer/aspireing writer oda somehow gets in a scandle and has his parental rights to his kids taken away. before was shared custody but now is.. not.
at this point dazai was already very ready to quit being an idol. so to try and cover up the oda scandal she leaks some pictures of her kissing some people earlier in her career and some mysterious ginger lady....... she also sets up a bomb under one of the agencys cars to really blow everything over.
chuuya is not happy with this. very not happy with this.
but, now she has the freedom to do whatever she wants with her music. so she gose full pop-punk rock<3<3<3<3 and also this is where stupid animatic make their way into my plan. remember the song black sheep cover by lady in schot pilgram, this is one song chuuya makes when she hits it off on her own. she also gets really popular when she moves to pop punk rock
okay dont actually have much else planned with this- just that 2-3 years later dazai publishes a book and its a crazy best seller. talking about the inner workings of the industry and is working on her next books. mabey publishes another in like a year. i am not fully sure timeline-
the dazai leaving the agensy and car bomb really give off breaking up vibes to chuuya til a hose soaked dazai is in front of her door. not even fake rain just blondie(kunikida) got mad at her plan and desided to try soaking the prick. i dont think they immediately start dating again, but they do at some point. and is secret dating ya.
dazai just shows up to some of chuuyas shows? its a running gag that dazai will somehow get on stage and fuck with chuuya. or mess with the lights. or just anything to make a lil ruckus. the media has no clue how dazai keeps ending up at them at the right place and right time.
so! one time 4-5-6 years after dazai leaves the company and a few years of them dating again, dazai sorta.. stops coming to the shows for a little? like seems to be super busy with new book or smth.
animatic timee
then on anniversary chuuya desides to sing one of her old songs. and dazai is sitting in the croud. and is so so much. at the end the light moves over to dazai in the croud as she walks tword the stage. then the lights shut off when shes on the stage. just those two, heres their dialog have thought up, will be little janky not best but im trying. pls change if want.
Ch: "oh so right here-"
D: "Chuuya Nakahara. that first day i met you. that was begrudgingly one of the best days of my life. you were one of the best things in my life. you are one of the best things in my sorry life."
*the sprinklers to the concert all go off*
Ch: "DAZAI?!!?!"
D:"Remember that first arcade date? it was raining so hard we got instantly soaked. got sick for a week with our managers yelling at us. i hated it, but i hated it with you."
D:"or how we snuck out durring that one stop in paris? i was able to get that shitty corner store wine and a day old baguette and you smiled so wide. it was like the sun opened up in front of me."
D:"Mabey instead you could think of that one time, after that accident at that one fan meet. where you slowly unwound and rewound my bandages. kissing each little thing. had to drag you off before you tryed kissing every molecule of my arms."
Ch, wispering: "Osamu.."
D:"Chuuya Nakahara. i am sick of telling lies to the world. im sick of hiding how my eyes can light up hearing your snorts. im sick of hiding the butterflys in my stomach whenever we brush hands on the sidewalk. im sick of not being able to say and shout to the world im yours. so today, no more hiding."
by this point any audience people that stayed are using the flash on their cameras to take pictures, and dazai had bent down to one knee.
D:"Insted, how about we be Chuuya Nakahara-Dazai and Osamu Dazai-Nakahara? from today to death do us part, will you marry me?"
and yada yada ruegfuejhrbe okay yup not sure thats any good- half tempted to have chuuya take the knee here but i think she dose her own cute more private proposal for her engagement back. but yee thats all i got planned!! thank you so much for enabling me and pls pls pls if wanna talk more about this me dms are so so so so open and so is my ask box please begging

Previous Chapter I Next Chapter Coming Soon
---
You woke up with a pounding headache. Sometimes they still came. Mostly like this, in the morning, out of nowhere and it takes about two or three aspirins for them to go away.
This is the first hiccup. The last time you had a headache like this, it was about finals time back in Bloomington. You just wanted to get out, you wanted it to be over, barely slept, barely ate, so the headaches were no surprise really. Then after graduation, when you were leaving one cursed town for another, you thought you left the headaches behind as well. Which very obviously was not the case. But they passed pretty easily compared to the previous ones.
The week passed in a blur mostly. You hung out at Family Video quite a lot and when you weren’t there it was mostly just getting used to the town. The first couple of days you find a diner where you can have coffee in the morning. The second morning you run into Steve.
‘Hey, stranger, how are you doing?’ He says with a boyish smile.
‘Just getting my morning coffee, trying to show this lovely town that I’m just like them, you know, coffee, pancakes, the works.’
‘Good thinking, you would be truly terrifying otherwise.’
‘You think?’
‘Oh, absolutely! 5”6 woman with a killer smile and - and I quote - decent cooking skills? Dangerous.’ He’s flirting with you but you pretend to be oblivious.
‘Well, wait ‘till you see my reward sticker collection. The lack of teachers shows, stacked up some pretty great stars and flowers and whatnot. Those kids won’t know what hit ‘em.’
Fine, maybe not that oblivious.
‘Wow, bringing out the big guns early, huh? How does one earn those stickers? Would some A-grade guacamole do the job at a dinner party?’
‘We’ll just have to wait and see, I guess.’
‘Guess so.’ You reach the coffee shop and he’s opening the door for you with a sly smile. Oh, boy.
As you get to the counter, you see that a tiny brunette is already balancing some coffees and pastries there.
‘... and I’ll also take like four of the cheese sandwiches.’ ‘Coming right up! Hey, give those pastries back, I’ll get you a bigger bag.’
‘Thanks, Al.’
You don’t miss the way Steve stiffens a little beside you.
‘Having a party Wheeler?’ He says.
‘Oh, god, you scared me.’ The tiny woman said, clutching at her chest. Her big eyes and tiny pointy nose made her look very cute.
‘You know exactly that’s for those assholes in the office.’ She says with a frown.
‘I know, you looked very cute though.’ She smiles shyly at that, looking down at her feet. Oh, boy, indeed.
‘Hi, we haven’t met before-’ you reach out trying to cut the tension.
‘Oh, I’m sorry, I was so occupied with those goddamn sandwiches.’ She shakes her head and takes your hand immediately. ‘I’m Nancy, Nancy Wheeler. You must be the new girl. Robin told me all about you. Went on a tirade actually. You’re starting in Hawkins Elementary, right?’
‘News travel a little unsettlingly fast here.’ You let out a nervous laugh. ‘But yes, that would be me.’
She glances up at Steve, who suddenly finds something very interesting on the menu above the counter. He runs a hand up his neck and squints at the menu. Subtle, Steven, really. Seamless.
‘So, she told you about the dinner on Saturday as well?’
‘A little more actually, she invited me.’ She frowned again and it made you laugh again.
‘Good! That’s exactly what I was about to do.’
‘Great! She told me she was gonna bring a pie but I’m betting my left arm she’s gonna burn it, so we’ll bring a back-up.’
‘We?’
‘Jesus, what a fun bunch we are. My boyfriend, Jonathan, is coming too. But only if it’s okay with you! He's staying for a while, finally. A little socialization we’ll do good for him.’
OH. BOY. So many alarm bells go off in your brain you can’t even count them.
‘Next!’ Al shouts out.
‘Sorry, one sec.’ You excuse yourself and you count your lucky stars that it immediately snapped you out of it. You’re not sure you could’ve contained your face.
‘Hi, Al! Can I get a black coffee to go please?’
‘If you ask this nicely, you can have anything, sweetheart. Comin’ right up! Anything else for you? The muffins are fresh.’
‘Oh, I wouldn’t miss that! Please, throw one in!’ You smile sweetly and he smiles back. On another day, in another café you might have suggested something very different this guy could do with his fresh muffin but you needed this town to like you. If anything happens or if you run out of gas in the middle of the road, you need to have friends. People looking out for each other. Looking out for you. That’s what these small towns are all about, right?
‘Jesus, keep it in your pants Al.’ Steve mutters to himself and both you and Nancy raise an eyebrow.
‘Okay, I totally forgot, I have an appointment with the…’ Shit. You’re blanking. ‘... the, uh, the school counselor!’ You say a little more loudly, you’re so proud of yourself. ‘So, I’m off.’ You slap a two dollar bill on the counter and start moving toward your exit.
‘Who? Miss Kelly? Isn’t she on vacation, still?’ Nancy asks. ‘I haven’t seen her in like a week.’
‘Well, I have an appointment with someone, maybe it’s not the school counselor. I didn’t, uhm, write it down. But I’ll see you guys on Saturday, right?’ You wave your goodbye and your lungs feel less tight right away as you get out of the diner, leaving a little dumbfounded Nancy and Steve behind you. Whatever you walked in the middle of, you want no part of it. No matter how boyish his smile or homely brown his eyes are.
***
Staying away proves to be way more difficult than you thought though. Robin is way too nice to say no to, and more importantly, you really like her. It also doesn't take long until you meet the other members of the party. You met Jonathan one time at the library you visited. He was with Nancy, looking for something they didn’t elaborate on. A very endearing stoner Argyle, a gloomy kid, who visited his not-a-girlfriend friend in the hospital every week, Lucas, his quippy and lovebly snappy sister Erica, a kid with the smartest mouth on him you’ve ever seen, Dustin, Will, who’s very soft spoken is really fast to become one of you favorites, not just because he’s really into art, Nancy’s broody brother Mike and of course the shy and sweet El. Or Jane. You’re not sure and nobody else seems to be either. But, hey, who were you to complain about weird nicknames? But all of that came with a lot of Steve on the side and keeping the flirting to the minimum was a real challenge. Especially ‘cause you liked it. He knew what he was doing and he was good at it. But it was impossible to miss how he softened when he saw Nancy, how something akin to hope flickered in his eyes.
It was also impossible to miss that they were hiding something. At one time Mike referred to the mall fire with air quotes and Robin immediately kicked him in the shin. Whenever Will touched his neck, everyone became tense. El kept looking around and spacing out sometimes, until Mike brought her back with a gentle tug on her hand. You’re not stupid, you pick up on these things. But you don’t ask too many questions. They’ll tell you if they want to. Or not. That’s also fine with you. Everyone has secrets and it’s not a surprise that a town like this may harbor more than one.
The second hiccup does come at the dinner though. You were nervous all day. And of course cooking and cleaning all day. You made lasagne and your favourite salad with grenadine seeds and walnuts, and some chocolate chip cookies, just to be safe. You bought wine and soda, a bunch of scented candles, you cautiously put up fairy lights, the first thing that made the place look more cozy, more yours. Your chest tightened at the thought a little. This is okay, this is your place. This is what people do when they have a place. You were just renting, of course, but the owners made it pretty clear that they’re not planning on coming back anytime soon, so they gave you the all clear on any makeover your heart desired. You didn’t know what your heart desired. Not yet anyway. You were so focused on just getting a place, any place, you would’ve taken a room in an attic without lighting. You’re a little startled by the doorbell as you get lost in your thoughts while tossing the salad.
‘Shit’ you mutter to yourself. You haven’t changed, your hair is a mess, you’re a little sweaty from all the work you’ve done and of course the table is not set yet. Great going, Peach. One hell of a first impression. Well, it wasn’t a first impression, not really, but still. The doorbell goes off again.
‘Coming!’ As you tear the door open it presents a bickering Robin and Steve.
‘... I took my eyes off of it for one second, Steve-’
‘Yeah, well the recipe clearly stated that you have to watch it very closely! Constantly!’
‘Oh, my go- Peach!’ Robin rasps as she notices you standing there. She basically throws herself in your arms. ‘I burned the pie.’ She says in a sad voice that reminds you so much of a kid who was caught with her hand in the cookie jar. ‘I failed you, I’m so sorry!’ ‘Oh, honey, it’s okay! I made some chocolate chip cookies, Nancy is bringing some pie as well, we’re all good sweets, don’t you worry!’ You tell her, hugging her tightly and laying a kiss on the top of her head for good measure. ‘And next time just call me, my pies are the talk of every Thanksgiving. I can give you some tips and tricks.’
‘You’re an angel.’ Robin sighs. Above her shoulder you lock eyes with Steve for a minute. He watches the two of you with the most doughy eyes and smile you’ve seen on him so far. He waves a little and huffs out a quiet ‘hi’. You take one of your hands from the girls back and wave back to him. He keeps watching and you can’t take it. You pull Robin away, grabbing her shoulders.
‘Alright, early birds get the worm’ you clap your hands ‘which means, you guys get to help me with the finishing touches, while I go take a shower and change, because I may smell like an onion but I have so much flour and butter on me that if you put me in the oven for 20 minutes on 350º I might come back as a pie as well.’
You make them laugh with that and the little laugh that comes out of Steve makes you want to run away into the woods and scream, it's so sweet. For the love of GOD, girl, get it the fuck together. This time Robin’s prodding finger in your ribs is what snaps you out of your state.
‘You're the boss! We’re at your service, m’lady!’ she bows theatrically. ‘Band kid?’
‘Trumpet’ Steve says with a shit eating grin. Robin seems a little uncomfortable at that.
‘Figures. Band kids are always the best.’ You wink at Robin. ‘Stamina and nimble fingers. Exactly what you need in the kitchen.’ Wow, you’re staggeringly bad at this not flirting thing.
‘Well, damn. If you were recruiting I’d never even look at a swimming pool or a basketball.’ Steve counters with the beginnings of that same shit eating grin.
‘Jock?’ You ask, turning to Robin.
‘But a reformed one at that. Did some penance for his sins.’
‘By driving 12 year olds around town?’ ‘And by bringing wine and some beer to your dinner party, smartass.’ As he says it, he starts moving around you, already having rid himself of his coat and shoes. He leans close and almost whispers the last word in your ear. It makes the muscles in your neck flex. ‘So, where do you need us?’ Robin’s eyes ping-pong between the two of you so you turn around. ‘Right. Plates are in the cabinet above the sink, cutlery in that drawer, glasses are already on the counter and you have some napkins on the table already. I’ll turn myself into a human again and be right back! Don’t break anything, please, I barely have enough stuff as it is.’
Your turn to make your way to the bathroom but you still catch the sound of Robin’s swat that probably lands on Steve’s arm. They hiss something at each other, but you try not to eavesdrop more. Not my circus, not my monkeys, not my circus, not my monkeys, not my circus, not my monkeys.
By the time you make your way back, Nancy, Jonathan and Argyle are all there. The letter with suspiciously narrow eyes and mellow smile. You make a mental note to ask him about that sometime. As you make your way to the table, still drying your hair with a towel, Nancy gasps.
‘Oh, my god, I love your dress!’
‘Thank you!’ You answer as you reflexively look down at yourself, before hugging her. ‘It was my mom’s in the sixties. Real flower child shit, I love it.’ The dress is almost floor length, it has a warm, orange-ish shade thanks to the thousands of tiny flowers, but it also has a dark, almost black undertone. It hugs your hips and has small buttons running up all the way on the front, top three still hanging loose, revealing some of the lace underneath.
‘Hell yeah, brochacha, I dig your style.’ You giggle at Argyle’s antiques as you hug the two boys shortly as a greeting.
‘Hey, do you have a corkscrew somewhere in here?’ Steve calls from the kitchen without turning around. ‘Uhm, that’s a good question actually. Let me check!’ You make your way to the kitchen, and plop the towel on the counter temporarily. ‘I- oh’ Steve says the moment he turns around and sees you. You’re suddenly very aware of those top three buttons. You should’ve buttoned them. ‘Wow, you, uh, you look really nice.’ He says, running a hand up and down his neck once. So, it is a nervous tick. You hope to any higher power if they're there, that you don’t blush. ‘Thanks.’ The smile you can’t hide. You know it’s there, he knows it’s there. Well, fuck. ‘So, have you checked the bottom drawer? I think that’s usually the bastard drawer.’ ‘Bastard drawer?’ He asks with furrowed brows but still not taking his eyes off of the tiny flowers. ‘My mom used to call it that. It’s the drawer you just kind of throw shit in, shit you don’t know where else to put. It's kind of rude, now that I think about it.’ You grimace to yourself as you zero in on it.
He watches you as you move toward said drawer. He likes the way the dress sways with each step you take. It’s a slow, almost magical movement of fabric in his eyes. A mix between a witch and some sort of fairy. He likes that you’re still barefoot, you look at home, even though you’ve only been here for a little more than a week. He likes the way you tuck your wet hair behind your ear as you crouch down. He likes your wet hair too, if he’s being honest with himself.
‘Uh-huh! The bastard drawer never disappoints.’ ‘Way to go flower child!’ Argyle chimes from somewhere in the living room. Steve shakes his head at that. But you can tell, he’s hiding a smile. ‘Thanks dude!’ You shout back as Steve moves towards you. You think he’s going to help you up, but then Robin storms in. ‘Hey, Peach- oh, come on, I’ll help you up.’ Something flashes in Steve’s eyes as he leans back on the counter. ‘Do you need help with anything else?’ ‘You can help me bring in the drinks if you’re up for it. The lasagne need another 10 minutes but we can have some drinks until then.’ ‘Really? Me too?’ You snort. ‘I’m not your mom, babes, of course you can.’
The evening goes well after that. You get to chatting, you talk about uni, very briefly but you mention that you had a failed relationship as well, you gush about your favourite teacher and ask them about the children of Hawkins. They tell you about the town, about how they met, how they became closer when tragedy after tragedy struck. Robin mentions clumsily that Nancy and Steve used to be a thing, which in turn makes the whole table uncomfortable. Except for Argyle, who, god bless his heart, chimes in with a ‘This lasagne is schmashing dude’. Which eases the conversation again. ‘It is really good, Peach.’ Steve emphasizes, tongue darting out to lick the corner of his lips. ‘When did you learn all of this?’
‘Well, growing up it was just my mom and me. We didn’t have a perfect relationship but she loved cooking. That was really the only thing we did together. Then she had to work more, so I had to do it on my own more and then when I was uni, it was comforting to do things we used to do together.’ You shrug a little almost as a sign that you don’t know what else to say. You do that a lot, Steve notes to himself. As well as the fact that your cheeks and chest get a little pink after two glasses of wine. Just some notes. You don’t know if it’s the wine or the fact that you haven't felt this calm, since what feels like a lifetime, but this sudden openness catches you off guard. But Robin jumps to the rescue again.
‘Oh, my god, that is so sweet!’ She squeals and she grabs your hand. ‘By the way, I never asked you about how that kind of date went?’
Now she is the one with the deer caught in the headlight eyes.
‘Duuuuude, you had a date? That’s awesome! How did it go?’ Argyle joins your inquiry. ‘Oh, it was… well, we- uhm’ she gets caught off by the ring of the phone which she seems very grateful for. You? Less so. ‘Who is- sorry, I’ll go get it.’ As you get closer to the phone, on the other side of the wall, your stomach starts to knot. No one is supposed to know this number. Maybe the school. Please, god, let it be the school. As you reach for the phone, you know it’s not the school. You’re so sure it makes you nauseous. Panic crawls up your throat, your hands are shaking but you know you can’t not answer. Normal people are not afraid to answer phone calls.
‘Hello?’ You call but nobody answers. You swallow with a big gulp. ‘Hello?’ You try again, this time squeezing your eyes shut and balling your hand into a fist. And that’s when you hear it. Breathing on the other side. You panic and slap the phone back on the wall.
‘Is everything okay?’ Steve asks and you hear the slide of a chair on the floor, and you start moving further into the kitchen. ‘I- Y-eah’ you call with a crack in your voice. You take a deep breath, trying to stady yourself. ‘Just ah, a wrong number. I’ll go heat up the pie!’ You try to think about the cold metal of the Colt on your night stand. It’s okay, you’re safe here, you can protect yourself, you made sure.
You’re already leaning against the stove when he finally catches up to you.
‘Do you need help?’ ‘No, no, I got it’ you call back over your shoulder, without turning around. You crouch down in front of the oven and open it. The heat comes rushing out but it’s still not enough to warn you. You grab onto the sheet with reckless abandon and promptly burn yourself.
‘Ouw- Fuck-’ ‘Shit, are you okay?!’ Steve comes rushing towards you as you hear the muffled sound of the others fussing in the living room. ‘Shit, come on, come here.’ Now he helps you up, one hand holding your wrist, the other settling on the small of your back as he guides you to the sink. ‘We have to put some cold water on it, so it doesn’t blister.’
You can only nod. The panic of the phone call is still at the back of your throat but now the burn of your palm feels a lot more urgent, so you will your body and your mind to work together and prioritize here. As the cold water hits the burn, you hiss and Steve apologizes.
‘No, please, it’s what you’re supposed to do.’ ‘So much for the pie tips and tricks, tough girl.’ He smiles at you a little mockingly. ‘I never said anything about kitchen accidents. You got nothing on me Mugsy.’ ‘Alright-’ Before he can really get going, Robin clears her throat loudly in the kitchen door, standing with crossed arms. ‘You guys okay in here?’ ‘Yeah!’ You say, pulling your hand away from Steve as gently as you can. ‘Yeah, just burned my hand. Nothing life threatening. But I will need someone else to put the pie in the oven for me after all.’ ‘I got-’ ‘I can do it.’ ‘Really, Robin? So, I’ll have to take care of two burns?’ Steve says, turning around with his hands on his hips. ‘Oh, calm your tits mom, I can put a pie in the oven on my own you-’ ‘Both of you can shut up, I’ll put it in.’ Nancy says as she pops in and comes directly towards you and looks at your hand with a concerned look. ‘Are you okay?’ ‘Guys, it’s just a sheet that was a little too hot. I’ll live.’ Nancy nods but you know that she can see that you’re still shaking. She moves to the oven and Steve takes the opening to make his way back towards you. ‘Do you have some ice? You should put some ice on it for the night.’ ‘Hey, Steven!’ Robin calls out a little too loudly and a little too sharply. And you make a mental note to send her a gift basket because now that the panic and the pain are subsiding, you really don’t want to feel his breath on your cheeks and his fingers moving your wrist so carefully, like you’re made of glass. ‘Would you be a darling and help me open a bottle of wine.’ ‘You’re a big girl, you can open a bottle of wine on your own.’ He quips back. ‘Oh, now I can do things on my own?’ ‘It’s a bottle of wine not a piping hot oven, Buckley, there is a difference.’ They continue arguing but you can’t make it out anymore under the sound of running water and Nancy and your laughter. ‘They are literal children.’ ‘It’s cute, really. I always wanted siblings.’ You confide in her. How can you not? Her blue eyes have this shade to them. A shade that sees right through you. A shade that tells you there’s no use in lying. Or hiding for that matter. ‘Are you sure, you’re okay?’ She asks, quiet, sincere. ‘Yeah, I’ll be fine. Had much worse.’ You smile at her and she doesn’t push. You’re thankful.
You almost can’t believe it but the rest of the dinner goes by without any more accidents. You guys come close when Robin wants to cut into the pie but Steve takes the knife out of her hand. Everyone wanted to help clean up but you swatted them away, insisting that you were the host and it was fine. You pack a box of leftovers for Argyle and he’s out the door. Nancy and Jonathan are the next, thanking you and even Jonathan shooting you a smile that tells you, he really did enjoy himself. By the time you close the door behind Steve and Robin, you almost forgot about the phone call. Almost. Not even a minute passes when there’s a knock at your door again. You huff out a laugh. ‘I told you, dude, that’s all the cookies I have, there’s- oh, Steve.’ You’re stopped in your tracks. ‘I- did you leave something here?’ ‘Yeah, I,uh, can you check if my wallet is on the counter, for me?’ ‘Sure, come in, I’ll be just a sec.’ You check but there’s no wallet. ‘Sorry, I couldn’t find it! Are you sure it’s not in the car, or-’ When you arrive back he’s leaning over the small dresser next to the door.
‘Oh, shoot! You know what?’ He says, feigning a realization. ‘It was in my back pocket. So forgetful sometimes. Night, tough girl!’ You’re a little confused but that doesn’t keep you from quipping back. ‘That nickname’s gonna stick, isn’t it?’ ‘Depends. Maybe I’ll think of something better.’ He says with a wink and turns on his heels.
After locking the door you glance down to the dresser. There’s a note on the block of Post-its you have there.
I’m very used to spending nights on my own in an empty house. If something spooky happens again or you need some ‘tips and tricks’ just give me a call.
There’s nobody there to see but you still feel like you have to hide your smile by trying to bite into your lower lip as you study his number.
Fucking hell. You really should’ve finished those goddamn buttons.

Cal Kestis x Kyra Yarmot
'Revenge and Redemption:
In the Name of Love'
Pt.4
___________________
Found a better, more...planned way to prepare for the chapters. Didn't make me write and Post any quicker, did it now? But I didn't make it easy for the second book anyways, dumping two fresh games (plus an unfinished one) and two new characters into the crack pot, in less than three weeks. That I haven't lost it totally yet is surprising, really.
Enjoy! :)
Word Count: approx. 3.006 Words
___________________
Your feet hit the ground hard as you barely slipped from their grasp – a squirming Grogu held tightly in your arms – and out of the burning ship through the broken cockpit window, not able to waste another second to say your heartfelt goodbyes to all the people that tried to keep you safe. Your only family.
Tears stung in your eyes and obscured your vision you ran as fast as your could feet could carry you, feeling your shoes – something that Zeta planned to replace tomorrow, when life was still alright – fall apart at the rough rubble of this rock desert. Soon their soles were ripped too much to be of practical use and instead began to slow you down, using your recently sharpened and polished claws to rip them clear off and flinging them in some ravine, but not without blasting them with enough of your fire to turn them into charcoal. Leave no trails.
'As a survivor you need to hide your tracks wherever you go if you ever have to hide' were Zeta's words once, his voice now haunting you, his shouts for you to run. To save yourself and the little one…
They all bought you time, they all saved your life one very last time.
Grogu kept looking behind the both of you over your shoulder and whether it was him making sure you weren't followed or the much more realistic, depressing reality, that he was looking where Din was, wondering…wondering what took him so long.
Din was basically like the Kid's Dad by now, hell, he was like yours too now, sharing that spot with Zeta. He had taught you so many things during Bounties, tricks the Clones never even heard about…
But Grogu, he saw him as even the bigger hero, to Grogu, Din was unbeatable.
Thankfully he was still sound asleep in his floating crib when you grabbed him out of it, he didn't have to witness what Din did to save you two, not even him able to hold back his screams of agony at the end. But it would also make explaining to the Kid where his dad went and why he didn't come back harder. You don't know if you had the strength to tell him, partially not wanting to believe what you saw yourself.
The explosion in the background, far too distant to see now but more than loud enough to hear the full capacity of it…it was your former ship, you knew that immediately. They tried to get rid of all their tracks, of...of the bodies.
It was when you heard two other ships getting closer to your area that you went back to reality. You're the two last survivors of this, they are coming for you, two of the possibly last Jedi in the whole galaxy…you couldn't kark up now, you needed to survive today!
No matter what came tomorrow, or the days after!
Their deaths cannot EVER be in vain!
You feel yourself waking up from your surprisingly good sleep, no memories of potential nightmares as you feel more rested than ever. Is this what a good morning feels like?
Just as you're about to pull your arm towards you to rub the annoying sleep crust from your eyes, you feel your palm impact with something slightly soft, someone cursing under you, "Owww…! Did you just slap me?" The person whines equally tired as you…under you?
Fighting the blur of your still sleepy eyes and the sleep stuck to them, you look at the familiar face of Cal. Shit, you just slapped him awake…but why are you here-
Wait, you remember now…the events of yesterday hit you like a slap itself, the way he crawled under the covers with you and you both spent the rest of the day watching weird Documentaries on the HoloNet as is wasn't evening yet exactly but he also wasn't needed for a mission yet. That and other activities during the Documentaries...
"I'm so sorry, Babe…" you mutter, ignoring the funny look he gave you for the sudden new pet name – never having heard you using one for him before – kissing the side of his face apologetically, Cal stretching his own arms now and rewrapping them around your naked form. This was everything he had ever waited for and you clearly as well. Thankfully you both had already seen each other naked on Tatooine before, so when you both undressed yesterday, it ended up being less awkward. Not entirely without some red and purple faces, but it could've been much worse.
He couldn't believe his eyes when he once again got to see your body, your scales not just growing wherever they could and wanted, but instead with intricate and planned out patterns, looking like waves of void black and their golden, shiny edges giving you the look of an incredibly expensive piece of art.
You were his treasure, he would never let you go, not again.
"How did you sleep, Dragonfly?" He yawns, gently feeling and petting the healthy wing, growing a grin when your chest produces something akin to a purr but more deep. How could a girl with such a melodic voice as yours produce such tones? There were still so many mysteries left around your kind, the Kaluk. At this point, these hidden research papers intrigued him as well and maybe you'll both get to look at them soon enough.
"Better than ever. My last bed as good as this one…was on Coruscant." So at the Jedi Temple, he noted. He was still surprised how you both not once met, well at least until he and Tapal got stationed over Bracca...and all that shit happened.
But that you two not even once crossed paths? And he was very certain that he hasn't met you as a Youngling or Padawan, you're looking not exactly very forgettable with your horns and all.
"Because my Master tried keeping me away from any more potential rejection, after an accident. Most of my time as a Youngling, he trained me somewhere else than at the Temple to avoid my peers…"
While through that way you never found out if really all other Padawans would've treated you differently for looking different, you also learned so much more about everything around you than most Padawans your age. So Galactic Geographics Class and History of certain Planets was easy as pie to you.
"That's actually horrible, I…I would've loved to meet you back then! We could've been friends, you could've shown younger me to be more confident and everything!" But if you meeting each other was really caused by the Force itself, that you two are meant for each other…if you would've met that early, your potentially building connection would've been seen as an attachment…they would have separated you two as soon as they noticed a change in his or your behavior when around each other. And from what you learned about yourself, such an event would've made you lose the balance Tegra tried to teach you.
It was already difficult to hide all affection that went above friendship when you had been on the Mantis…but in THE Jedi Temple, where the council and a whole number of other strong Jedi lived?
"You got a good point there I guess…doesn't change my opinion though, I would've wanted to be your friend and to meet your own Clones…ones that don't attack you on sight because of someone's command." Right, his Clone Commander and his subordinates weren't as lucky and smart to remove their chips, Cal had a much different memory of his Clones. His tried to kill him, not to keep him safe…
But he was obvious about not wanting to divulge in what they did today, his thoughts more interested in yours, what they were like after they got their command transferred to a little goblin like you. Wait, pause, did he really just call younger you a goblin in his head? "Well, I think you would totally have been pocket sized, if you're still that short tod- OW!" He immediately shuts up when you repeatedly hit on the shoulder with a grimace, it was about just as childish as younger you would've been. So there he had his taste for what could've been. "Don't ever call me pocket sized again…or…or I'll find an even more embarrassing pet name for you!"
He did not take you serious at ALL, pulling his eyebrows up with a grin, clearly ready to- "You wouldn't. Challenge you? Any karking day, you love me too much to be mean-" "Firecrotch."
Oh you just didn't, he thought, staring at you with wide eyes as it was your turn to triumphantly grin as his mouth hung wide open with shock. "Told you, don't challenge me, be it physically or verbally. Now you're never…NOT…Firec-" He pulled you into a fierce, angry kiss, anything to stop you from using that name a second time. You're such an asshole sometimes, but he really didn't expect you to know…that word. Well, duh, you spit literal fire yourself, everyone has a crotch – most do at least – and it wasn't hard to string both words together when you see a hot ginger like him, was it?
"Actually, you probably would've bullied me, huh?" He asks as you part away again, a satisfied sigh at your lips, licking them as you ate up the blush your new nickname for him caused for him, "Well, if you ever had too much time to read like me, you'd know the bully to Lovers-Tropes." You sang before kissing him again, without any restrain or worry of getting caught, feeling both your pheromones fold out and starting to cover the whole bedroom by now. This was going to be your favorite room on all of Nur…
"No, never heard of it, what happens in them?" And Cal wasn't lying to keep you talking, he really never had as much time as you to read at various planets' libraries, always having been stuck on Bracca till he was found out and collected by Cere. That was nearly two years ago.
"Well, usually starts out as your average bully, Kyra…and the average Victim of the bully, so…you, Firecrotch…" You drag out the nickname, pointing at each other as you begin to explain this cliché as kark romance trope. One of the most basic ones to write for, there were at least 100 at every Library you went to and pure boredom made you read almosy Every. Single. One of them. Not without of course taking breaks and reading what you came in for in the first place: historical books, science books, etc.
Usually ended up with you having extremely funky dreams about physicist-bullies having rough hate-intercourse with their bullied peers: some extinct sentients or an historical artist that nearly started a galactic war. You stopped mixing genres immediately after the fifth dream that built that way…
"But aren't I dominant in bed? Why am I the one being bullied then?" "That term is only important in public, until they end up in the school or work bathroom, the gym or at one of their homes. Afterwards roles get often reversed…then you fit in as well, F-" Another kiss to shut you up as your evil, playful grin returns. "You're pure evil." "I know."
You both fell silent after that, now just enjoying the quiet, relaxing atmosphere, the windows of the bedroom having a dreamlike view of the ocean life. Who knew Nur had such a vibrant fauna? Besides that nightmare creature from yesterday-
Clearly you never could've known from that one time you passed by all these years ago, just barely remembering the name enough to have it ring a bell when Cal told you where you are.
It was rather insignificant to you back then, which is surprising to you when you looked up nearly every planet, moon or sun you passed on your chaotic, unplanned ping-ponging trips across the far and wide map of the Galaxy. You even had read about Mustafar itself, just not Nur. But since it was nothing but a previously uninhabited rock floating in space until the Empire took it for their operations – that knowledge in courtesy of Dr. Puloria talking a lot – it surprised you not all that much. She was the perfect spot for gossip on the Inquisitor Base, that was sure even after just knowing her for maybe two days and few conversations.
You look away from the window that brought you so deep into your thoughts in the first place, checking up on Cal when he stopped caressing you with absent-minded, feather light gestures, palm idle on your naked waist from when he rolled you both around to continue hugging you from behind. The obstructing wings were not keeping him from trying to get as close as possible to your irresistible body heat, nose buried into your voluminous mass of hair.
"Something is wrong and you're not telling me…again." you claim with sadness, carefully rolling back over to face him – watching your injured wing with keen eyes – to see the pained expression he had been hiding. "It's about...BD…his, the state he is in now, it haunts me to look at him, the scraps left of him. Had I…had I just caught you both, then this all wouldn't have had to happen. He would still be able to fill this silence with his beeps and boops…he wouldn't have let us sleep this long at all." Right, BD is…BD is gone.
In all your joy of being together with Cal once again after all, you forgot the little guy. The one that never left either of your sides. And you, you just scrubbed him from your mind- "You didn't forget him. You never would, you're too kind to forget even the smallest creature." You're not kind, you try to be but selfishness is part of your nature. You're the sole reason the smallest creature in your care…
"I have seen…parts, of your past, while we slept. I- you did everything you could have back then." "You clearly didn't see everything. I let Grogu down. Now I repeated my mistakes. I had the job to protect the weakest in the pack and I karked up."
He sighs, almost physically feeling the walls you had pulled up at that subject. It would take a long time to make you think about everything once more, to see it with the perspective he had with his ability. The eyes of an outsider.
But he knew one thing he could show you, to perhaps give you hope, that you weren't a lost cause, as you called yourself.
Almost on reflex, you stood up along with him as he was silent the whole time, leading you to a door your room didn't have. Opening it, you're greeted with a tiny walk-in closet he rebuilt to fit a small workbench inside and a rack for all kinds of tools and replacement parts for mostly his new lightsaber. But also a few spare parts that were definitely not for lightsabers, you knew that much.
But the pile on the workbench had your real attention, a choked sob escaping you as you hurried over to the table, shaking hands hovering over the scraps, afraid to break even more just by being here now, by accidentally breathing wrongly.
BD…he...he was mangled, just like in the memory you saw through Cal's eyes. But in reality the damage looked even worse, he was missing a leg, the metal of his body was pressed inwards together, barely resembling him anymore. His Optics were both beyond repair, one lying next to him, a sign that Cal tried to recover as much of his best buddy as possible.
"I'm not showing you to torture you even further. I can feel your guilt, it's eating at you almost as much as your wish for vengeance…to make them pay for what they did." He stepped next to you, almost like he was paying his respects to the Droid. Was there nothing you could do to fix him?!
"That's why I brought you here. I…I want- needed to let you know that I haven't given up on him. And to remind you that you haven't either, despite what your thoughts try to tell you. BD is never going to be really gone, not as long as we keep going for him."
Gaining the courage from his words, you pick up some of the stray, fringed wires sticking out from the bent and nearly clipped off second leg, letting your blunt claws glide over the colorful silicon running over the copper wiring. He is absolutely right, you can't let him down a second time by leaving him in this state…left to rust and decay.
"What would we need to fix him?" His eyes widened when he finally found his smile once more as he hugged you close to him in barely contained excitement, "I like that tone much more with you. And to answer your question, I made quite the list…but on Nur I'm not a mechanic or even a scrapper anymore, I can't make such requests without getting denied…"
He let you go for a moment to look for said list, new found energy in him as well, now that he finally had been able to show and tell you what he was going to do... If he had the right tools and materials. A minute later, he came back up from under the workbench, a bit of fine metal dusting on his hands as he handed you a hand written note. In a place like this, that was probably safer…but if you really wanted these things, you would have to cause at least a bit of ruckus, a bitter realization he made when he heard your thoughts.
He wasn't lying, that's a long list. Not as long as the Grocery List that you handled back then on Bardotta but it did give you a heavy sense of Deja Vu. "It does, doesn't it? But this time it has an actual use, everything on here is important. Especially the welder. The one I already owned…it broke, I never managed to get my hands on a new one since then, same reason as I just told you why I don't have anything else on this list yet."
Cal lost his pocket welder? He fixed so many things on not just BD or his Lightsaber, but sometimes even whole parts of the Mantis! All with that small thing, fitting into his pants' pocket!
"And what makes you think I got a better chance? The new one?" He did remember that only yesterday you got your request shot down almost immediately, he was there!
"Yes, I know. But…you know…you're much more intimidating than me. The Troopers responsible for relaying the manual Delivery Requests would shit their Plastoid shells!"
Ohhh, you didn't have to grovel at the prune's feet again? That's something else. You were great at Intimidation Tactics! You would make them quiver and mewl in their boots-
"Save your dark thoughts for when we need them, my love. If we want to do this, we need to get dressed first."
Your eyes wander down at his mention of clothes, feeling your face heat up and your clearly drifting thoughts return to the present as you were made aware of the fact that you both were still as naked as the day you were born. "Yeah…probably a better idea, no?"
The still chaotic closet, your own sets of uniforms having been thrown in just haphazardly yesterday when you both immediately found…uh, better things to do.
Who knew highly detailed Documentaries about Wookies led to such primal, near feral sex and soft cuddles afterwards?
"Ready?" He asks, watching you test the flexibility of the "casual" uniform, so no armor plates, just the black and…purple bodysuit. They were just as comfortable as they looked on Cal, you could see yourself actually enjoying wearing them.
"Yes, I am, you?"
"Born ready!" "No you weren't, we all were born crying like pussies-" "Kyra…my moment…"

Favourite Professors: Minerva McConagall
Least Favourite Professors: Severus Snape, Patricia Rakepick
Relationships
Brother: Jacob Aurelius Malinda
Growing up, Jacob was Verna’s hero. He is five years older than Verna but nevertheless they spent a great deal of time together as children, Jacob often babysitting his sister. Although he was never as much into Quidditch as Verna, he would spend hours teaching her to fly and even take her to watch matches a few years before his disappearance.
Although otherwise short-tempered and rash, Jacob had endless amounts of patience for Verna. With very absent parents, Jacob all but raised Verna from a young age and Verna trusted him to look after her more than their parents, which is why it was shocking to her when he disappeared without a word.
Father: Mervyn Malinda
The sole heir to the Malinda estate, Mervyn is an important character within the Wizard society. However, what the general public doesn’t know, is that he is, in fact, an illegitimate child with a muggle mother. This has been kept secret by his grandmother, father, and step-mother throughout his whole life. The only other person to know the truth since his birthmother’s passing is Juniper, his wife.
Mervyn works as the Head of The Department of Magical Transportation. He is not a very affectionate father, but he tries his best to support his children. Mervyn used to be a Gryffindor.
Mother: Juniper Malinda, née Raeburn
A prominent witch from the pureblood Raeburn family, Juniper married Mervyn Malinda out of love. She is a little eccentric and spends a lot of time working on her potions. For a time, the Malindas had a relatively peaceful life with their two children, up until Jacob went missing. After that, Juniper and Mervyn grew distant and started to argue a lot.
Juniper works as a potioneer and values learning, diligence, and holding onto what you believe. She used to be a Ravenclaw.
Love Interest: Merula Snyde
Verna and Merula start out as rivals but due to having to work together during their search for the cursed vaults, they are forced to spend time together. Both start to develop a crush on the other but are in complete and utter denial about it. Verna is the one to realize her feelings first, and she starts to antagonize Merula just to have tension-filled moments with her, which is a completely normal and rational approach to letting your crush know you like them.
Merula and Verna date in school and a while after it but eventually break up in the turmoils of the war. Depending on the version, they might end up together later on though.
(also, as a sidenote, i headcanon merula as like, really short so this dynamic is so much fun when verna is TALL)
Best Friend: Charlie Weasley
They both like Quidditch and are complete dorks. Worst pair of prefects Gryffindor has ever seen, totally incompetent at their job.
(Is this me projecting my love for Charlie into my OC? Absolutely yes and I have no regrets.)
Rivals: Merula Snyde, Patricia Rakepick
Enemy: Voldemort, R
Dormmates: Rowan Khanna, Skye Parkin, Eloise Montague, and Yasmin Wakefield (the last two are my ocs just to fill the dorm for my fic but these spots are up for grabs if anyone wants to be dormmates!)
Pets: A black cat called Osborn
Closest Canon Friends: Charlie Weasley, Rowan Khanna, Ben Copper
Closest MC Friends:
Farrow Raeburn @threeon1match
Verna’s cousin from her mother’s side of the family. He is a year younger than Verna and in Slytherin. They are nevertheless close, and Farrow has a huuuge crush on Verna’s cool, dragon-loving friend Charlie.
Background/History
Pre Hogwarts:
Verna had a wealthy childhood in the countryside at the Malinda manor. She had a close friendship with her older brother who taught her to fly her first broom. Verna had a keen interest in learning spells even at a young age, and her parents would often find her using magic before she was allowed to (often with disastrous consequences). The year Verna was meant to start her studies at Hogwarts, her brother went missing and her mother became very distant, while her father acted as if nothing was wrong. Verna became determined to find and rescue her brother.
Hogwarts Years:
If I would get around to publishing my fic maybe you guys would find out!! But the basic skeleton of the storyline follows the game’s events, just modified to suit a different medium and sans all the dumb stuff!!
Order of the Phoenix / 2nd Wizarding War:
Verna works as a substitute teacher in Hogwarts for a year, after which she trains to become an auror. However, she doesn’t like the way things are run at the Ministry, so she quits and moves home to the Manor for a while, trying to figure out what to do with her life. Before she can come to any conclusions though, the Second Wizarding War starts to pick up speed and the secrets her family has kept all these years transform from dangerous to fatal. Verna is recruited into the Order of the Phoenix by her old friend Bill Weasley.
Verna reunites with many of her old friends from school while working in the Order. Her father is killed during the war and her relationship with her mother goes through a lot of turmoil.
Her ultimate fate is not set in stone and in some versions she dies during the war and in others she makes it.
Post-War:
Depends on whether she survives or not. If Verna lives, she will eventually find her path to a teaching position at Hogwarts OR a curse-breaking job with the (much-changed) Ministry.
She also reconciles with her ex Merula, and the two of them get together.
Personality
Positive attributes: caring, brave, selfless, confident, passionate, protective, resourceful. Negative attributes: impatient, impulsive, stubborn, cocky, reckless, competitive, short-tempered.
if you made it this far, wow! congrats! thank you!!!! i love you forever!!!

LMFAO READER KEEPS UNDRESSING WITH WOLFIE IN THE ROOM it's become a habit at this point with Twi completely dying on the inside each and every time--
And why not, right? It's a time of complete vulnerability, better do it with the one companion that will probably not mind and even protect you if something were to happen. Reader thinks this. Wolfie is vehemently hoping this is not the case. He is wrong. Please help this very dumb man.
Like Twi tries REALLY HARD to keep both lives separate (for the sake of his secret) but my god, if he was awful hiding it from the start, now it's even worse.
He has to pretend that nothing really happened with him and reader, since YEA TECHNICALLY NOTHING HAS, but everytime they're paired together or just in front of eachother Twi kind of gets immediate flashbacks to the incident (TM) as his eyes seem to drift... UNTIL THEY DON'T-- IF ANYONE SAW THAT NO THEY DIDN'T. (Unluckily for Twilight, Wild's penchant for somehow always knowing when he will be an idiot is a thing and now he has blackmail material on his very crafty slate.)
My boy keeps remembering that time he stupidly oogled at Telma's... THINGS, (TWICE) and how he got the back of his head slapped for being a complete idiot right after by Midna, which fair, and he really doesn't want a repeat of that, especially with someone he may or may not be crushing on. Not really a crush, though. It's debatable, really (nice save, Twi).
Like he can count the amount of times he's wanted to out his secret to them on both his hands now, just so they can understand the kind of position they're putting this poor boy in.
Obviously it's none their fault, it's just a misunderstanding they both can't really change until one of them just cuts it for the sake of both's pride but Twi feels like the awkwardness between the two will worsen if he ever fesses up (and it will), so he's kind of between a rock and a hard place.
Everything came to a head that one time Wolfie was looking for running water so they can all fill their bottles again, and in a good moment he faintly hears a waterfall. Cool. Awesome. He tunes his hearing and gears toward the origin of the sound, and as luck will have it, this picturesque waterfall with a long river at its tail was right there near camp. End of story right? He gets near it to check if it's okay (paranoia will do that to you, foreign land foreign ecosystem, etc), and as he reaches the edge of the water, for some ungodly reason Reader pops out of it, shirt completely vanished thrown somewhere only the Goddesses know. As if reader were a magician, they unknowingly made Twi's wits disappear and reappear somewhere completely not here.
Oh no.
"Wolfie! Perfect timing!" They say, blissfully unaware Wolfie just saw a good portion of everything (dear god help him), and it gets even worse as Reader playfully yoinks Wolfie with them into the water.
He doesn't really care he's now completely soaked (he can make a half assed excuse to the rest of the chain later), also water temples kind of desensitizes you and whatnot, but what he does care about is the fact his back is completely against reader's front and he can feel everything .
If Wolfie could scream right now by the Goddesses all of Hyrule would have heard him.
By this point this event completely busted his internal circuits (and, like, one braincell), and Wolfie is struck completely stupid as Reader happily cleans his fur. The following hour or so is a complete blank he doesn't remember a goddamn thing (mentally checked out for the rest of that disaster). Overall he just KNOWS he lost. Lost the metaphorical game of chicken he unwillingly was playing with reader, or an actual part of him??? Who knows, but he just feels for certain like he just lost.
Way after that whole mess he's completely unwilling to acknowledge, Twi returns to camp, and he completely tunes out Wild's remarks about him being completely soaked top to bottom (something, something "and you say I'm the resident crazy, look at you!") But the cook kind of leaves him be after witnessing the rancher's completely dead eyed face, as said dead eyed rancher unceremoniously throws himself into his bedroll with a huge "WHOMP."
His soul??? Out the godamn window, that thing went into the Twilight realm and will never return again. So did his imagination, he will get that devious thing under lock and key, absolutely thrown into the dark crevices of his mind and pray to the Goddesses that it never surfaces ever again (which doesn't work lmfao).
Literally his neck automatically snaps in the opposite direction the moment he sees reader for like the next following weeks. He has to physically fight the urge to not throw himself off a cliff just to avoid Reader.
It gets to the point Reader kind of whispers to Wild a "Did I do something wrong?", To which the very helpful (not) cook just replies coolly with "Don't worry about it, he's kind of an idiot.", as he cackles to himself while looking at his slate's pictures. It's a mess for everyone involved (soon to be in Reader's case), but Twi just got hit with most of the damage. Kind of funny though overall if you're Wild.
I can't believe that Vai clothes prompt sent both this and the other one.
I'm posting this one first because the other is way more suggestive.
So there's that.
I've calmed down a lot from when I read this. So if my reaction seems subdued is because I read it when I first woke up and it's already been like five hours.
#pinky replies#the image of Twilight's soul left me laughing though#just a dead eyed stare and flopping onto the bed roll- ignoring everyone with his back turned to them#just..... dead#i love this

Injury
Characters: Albedo, Childe, Diluc, gn!reader
Word Count: 3,657
Warnings: Blood, injury, slight violence, minor villain death
Premise: Sometimes the pain of others can hurt even more than one’s own. In which the reader is injured.
Author’s Note: Week 3 of keeping up my writing schedule let’s go! This week is a bit angsty, my forte (I think?) As usual part one – with Albedo, Childe, and Diluc – will be posted tonight and part two – Kaeya, Xiao and Zhongli – tomorrow.
At first this was going to be both your injury and your recovery but then the first character hit over 1.5k words so I guess this is going to be a pseudo-series. I really don’t know the definition of concise lol.
In the first part of my last fic I realize I gendered a word. I’m super sorry about that, and I promise to fix it and tag properly next time. Childe gets to go into the stone forest cause I say he can. I’m not sure if waypoints are diegetic or nondiegetic. I decided to make them so. Also the first hospital in China was opened in the early 1800s, and I know hospitals aren’t very “fantasy” but Teyvat has good medical science in my book.
Albedo
Throughout his life the one thing that Albedo never truly understood was peoples’ obsession with modesty, even when it was false.
There was a lot that Albedo was proud of in regards to himself; his intellect for one, his curiosity, his abilities as an alchemist, the fact that he feared little in the world. Above all perhaps was the pride he held in carrying himself without falling into hysteria, his grip on his emotions was impeccable and whenever he was unfortunate enough to see others gripped with a heavy emotion he was always left with a sour feeling in his mouth – a disgust for someone who had so little sense they couldn’t even control themselves.
This was a pride that left him quickly enough upon seeing you injured.
It wasn’t meant to be a dangerous expedition. It’d merely been a check of the vast network of caves and tunnels that could be found in Dragonspine. A route affair, mundane even in how simple it supposedly was. There was nothing to be afraid of. Albedo had told you that back at home and you’d smiled in agreement. Yes, there was nothing to be worried of, a few hilichurls at most and a temperature that could be easily kept in check with the right preparation. You’d be there and back in less than a day, no problem.
Everything, however, had gone horribly wrong. The cave that you two intended to explore turned out to be a vast network, full of tight tunnels and half submerged under freezing water. You two had managed that well enough, although once Albedo had almost slipped and fallen into the underground river, the whole outlook of the expedition was looking drearier and drearier.
Eventually you’d reached what had seemed to be the heart of the cave, floor after floor of ice with a hole in the middle, all lit up by crystal and scarlet quartz. It was an impressive sight to be sure and you’d stood a little ways away from the edge, observing the way the light refracted off the ice coated walls, waiting for Albedo to be finished with his sampling, enjoying the awesome sight in front of you.
Albedo had just finished when you’d let out a yelp. Whirling around he saw what had captured your attention – a wild snowboar who’d managed to wander in. The two of you watched the very confused creature in awe, only staring as it stomped the ground and charged right into the wall.
That was a mistake.
All of the sudden the cavern started shaking violently. Cursing the boar for its terrible – or maybe impeccable – aim the two of you sprinted towards the exit. You’d managed to gain the lead, not bogged down by Albedo’s extensive equipment, and had turned around near the beginning of the tunnel in order to help him. Just as you were heading back one of the many icicles that lined the roof of the cave came undone, landing with a sickening thud right where your collarbone met your spine.
You’d dropped like a rock, and Albedo felt his stomach to turn water and his mind turn to static, as suddenly all logic seemed to leave him, instead replaced by dread so overpowering he seemed to lose track of his surroundings, chained to the ground by something greater than himself.
You groaned and time seemed to unfreeze itself, instead accelerating at a breakneck pace. Leaping into action Albedo immediately dropped all of his equipment, the sound of glass vials shattering muffled by the cases that held them and the panic that was gripping him. Hauling you over his back he ran through the tunnels, wincing every time you made a sound and biting his tongue every time he shimmied through a particularly tight spot and it seemed it might not let the two of you pass as you were.
He could feel the blood seeping through his gloves. Your blood. Only a few minutes ago he wasn’t even sure that icicles could make one bleed. Now he wished he’d never found out, wished that he’d never asked to explore the caves of Dragonspine, wished that you’d never agreed to it. How could he have been so foolish, so blind to the dangers that waited in vast caverns of ice and snow, where the slightest wrong movement could spell your death.
Albedo could’ve cried when he sighted the camp. Indeed he might’ve, realizing that there were frozen tears on his cheeks only after you’d been taking to the medical tent. He hadn’t noticed, hadn’t noticed anything really in those terrifying moments between when you’d gotten hurt and when he’d made it to the camp. It all seemed not to exist in his mind, washed away by the emotions that had wracked his mind and body. Even now he couldn’t stop shaking, couldn’t stop the tide of emotions that was crashing into him like a wave, utterly helpless as he was thrown this way and that.
The pride that he’d clung to was in tatters, and Albedo looked upon it now in disgust. He’d been so innocent, so foolish, perhaps mercifully so. But all that was gone, and his certainty had gone with it. There was nothing left of him almost; nothing except fear and anger and worry, and Albedo wondered when he might ever feel sure of everything again.
It was cloudy when you were released, arm in a sling, brace around your shoulders. Albedo wasn’t sure how much time had passed, it had seemed like an eternity. The urge to run up to you and wrap you in the tightest hug imaginable was intense, but the sight of the brace held him back. Instead he brought you hand up to his face, kissing your palm before holding it against his cheek. You smiled at that, but there was fatigue in your eyes and you said nothing. Albedo couldn’t blame you. He moved to let go and turn towards the path, somehow feeling unworthy of holding your hand after being the cause of your predicament, but you quickly grasped his hand once more. He smiled a slightly shocked smile, but made no move to let go.
As you two walked back to Mondstadt Albedo felt himself once more flooded by negative thoughts. Lowering his gaze so he was looking at the ground he paused for a moment.
“I’m sorry.”
Albedo found his voice cracking, tears welling his eyes even as he chastised himself for how stupid he must’ve looked. You were safe, you were going to be alright, the head of the clinic had said so himself. Why then did he still feel like he might crumble any minute? Shaking his head he moved to cover his face with his hand.
“Hey.” There was still fatigue in your voice, but there was also an urgency in it. You squeezed the hand you were holding, moving so you were facing him. “Hey, is it okay if you look at me?”
Albedo moved his head up slowly. He was truly crying by now, having given up all efforts to do so otherwise. You smiled softly as his eyes met yours.
“I’m alright, okay? And you shouldn’t blame yourself for this. I doubt that even the drunkest man in Monstadt could’ve guessed a wild boar would wander in a cavern and start a cave in. You can’t control fate you know.”
“I know.” Albedo forced the words out, although more and more it seemed impossible, his throat was too constricted to be anything more than barely coherent. “Still. I should’ve known. And I should’ve kept it together. I, why am I crying? Why wasn’t I in control? Why, why am I still not in control?”
“Because you’re human Albedo.” You replied, shaking your head slightly. “You’re the most wonderful human alive, but you’re still human. You mustn’t beat yourself up for what you are. I’d rather you cry anyways. There’s nothing noble in hiding your emotions, they must come out one way or another. So please, please cry all you want, long and hard. And tomorrow you can start your penance, alright?”
“Penance?” Albedo mumbled, still crying. You nodded, smile still nothing but fondness and understanding.
“Well someone’s going to have to help me for the next two months. And I know you’re too much a gentleman to make me stumble along myself.”
“Of course.” Albedo’s answer came fast and sure. He paused then, realizing that, by distracting him with the weeks to come, you’d managed to give him a pocket of time to calm himself, to feel himself once more firmly planted on the ground. Love mixed with anger and sadness in his mind, and for a moment he could only marvel at you.
Albedo leaned down to kiss you on the forehead. He’d do whatever he could to help you, this he promised himself. And this too he promised himself; you’d never ever be hurt on his watch again.
Childe
If there was anything that Childe hated it was a lack of control. The feeling of everything slipping through his fingers was something he’d felt often as a child, and that feeling had haunted him. When he’d signed up as a member of the Fatui he’d promised himself that he’d never feel that way again. He’d protect those he loved and he’d keep his life from falling apart. It was a promise he was determined to keep, no matter what.
You two had decided to go hiking. Or rather it was less of a hike and more of a rock climb. Childe had long bragged that the Huaguang Stone Forest was the most beautiful place to watch the sunset, and you’d finally gotten a free weekend. Waypointing your way there initially, your partner had taken an almost childlike joy from choosing which mountain was the highest.
“Childe have you decided yet? The sun is almost at the horizon.” You called out at the Harbinger. Childe was, much to your dismay, the stronger climber, and had taken to scouting ahead of time to see if the spot you were climbing to was any good. Now he glanced down at you, mischief written all over his face, his smirk flashier than usual. He put his hand on his chin and looked outward once more.
“Hmm… I don’t know…”
“Childe!” You exclaimed, your arms slightly killing you. You really wish that you’d convinced Childe to bring a roped and belay. Unfortunately that request had been met with a whine and an accusation of “that’s cheating!” You’d laughed it off at the time, but now you were starting to regret your partner’s recklessness. As much as you were enjoying your time – being alone with Childe always felt intensely special and you cherished every moment of it – you were also impatient to actually watch the sunset, and in your hurry you wondered if it might not be faster to climb back down and watch from the bridge.
“I do believe that we’ve found the tallest one!”
“Thank the Seven.” You groaned, hurrying to get to the top. Childe chuckled, watching you scale up the mountain.
“Oh come now, I had to make sure it was perfect! Besides you looked so comfortable perched there, it almost hurt to disrupt you.”
“When I get up there I’m killing you.” You shot back, reaching towards the ledge. Still laughing Childe stuck out his hand and you moved to grab it, pushing off with your feet as much as possible, determined to make it up the mountain in the next move.
The laughter died from Childe’s lips the moment your hand missed. Instead it was replaced by fear, cold and sharp as a knife, plunging straight through his heart. Time seemed to slow down, but you were falling so fast, falling, falling, falling. Catapulting himself off the top of the mountain Childe reached out for you. In his mind he was screaming. Glide. Oh please, for the love of the Seven glide. Please, don’t fall, it’s so high up. I couldn’t bear it. Please.
Still the words were stuck in his mouth, and his throat only constricted more when you hit the bridge with a sickening thud. Releasing his own wings at the last moment he landed on the bridge too, only a few meters away from where you were now crumpled up. Running over he scooped you up. You’d managed to right yourself at the last moment in the air so that you were landing feet first, but though you’d managed to protect your head your legs dragged limply, and one was bent at an awkward angle. Looking at your mangled form, listening to you as you screamed and whimpered in pain, Child felt overwhelmed by his vast helplessness. There was nothing he could do. Burying his head in your neck he sobbed.
“I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.”
The journey to Liyue was excruciating, both for you and for Childe. Although there was no external bleeding the initial adrenaline of falling had no worn off and you felt every jolt and movement as Childe slung you on his back, wrapping his arms around your thighs and carrying you to the nearest waypoint and then to the Liyue doctor. Even when Childe was standing still you thought you might die from the sheer pain. So intense it was that sometimes you gave up, blacking out only to wake up feeling like you were drowning, the burning air around you almost too hot and too heavy to breathe.
Childe willed himself to numbness throughout the journey, only allowing him to collapse once you’d reached the hospital, practically ramming into the nearest chair in the waiting room, the situation washing over him.
How could he have let this happen? Hadn’t he made a promise? A promise that he’d protect those he’d love, that he’d never lose control of a situation again, that he’d never let those he cared about suffer? Where was that promise now? His whole world seemed to collapse in on itself now. He hadn’t been able to protect you. Despite his training, his reflexes, his vision, his everything. You’d still fallen. And as powerful as Childe liked to think he was, he still couldn’t turn back time and stop your suffering.
Finally the doctor opened the door and Childe was let in to see you. After informing him that you were on painkillers the doctor left you two alone. Faced with you laying on the hospital bed Childe sank into the nearest chair. Lacing his fingers through yours he drew circles on your hand over and over. For a moment you two said nothing, then Childe let his head rest on your hands. “I’m sorry.” He whispered, voice raw.
“I know.” You replied, mind a bit hazy from the painkillers, the magic infused herbs luring you to sleep. Still you pushed forward, needing to say something before Childe let himself be carried away. “I know, but it’s not your fault. And it’s not irreversible. The doctor says in 8 weeks I’ll be fine. Until then, we’ll just have to improvise.”
“But what about your adventuring? Your commissions? How can you do those if you can’t –”
“I’ll figure it out. Adventuring isn’t just monster slaying you know. And there’s no catastrophe in being in a wheelchair or on crutches.” You shook your head. Childe was still crying, and you could feel his tears running down your linked hands.
“Ajax.” Childe’s head shot up, surprised. He loved when you called him by his true name, it always seemed like a song falling from your lips. And now that song was filled with understanding, if not a bit of sadness. “I want you to not blame yourself.” You continued. “I know it’ll be hard, I know that these feelings won’t go away. And I’m not blaming you for them. I’m not happy about this either, of course I’m not, I just went through a world of pain. But I won’t be able to stand watching you beat yourself up for 8 weeks, I won’t be able to stand that look in your eyes every time you look at me. So please, please stop. If not for yourself then for me.”
Childe stared at your for a while. You waited, not wanting to rush his thought process. Eventually though he shook his head, a small smile finally breaking his expression.
“You’re too good for me you know. Alright. I promise to try. It’s the least I could do.”
“Thank you.” You smiled. Childe smiled back. He didn’t know how you managed to do it, how you managed to take his fears and look them in the face. All he knew at that moment was that he loved you. And for now, that was enough.
Diluc
Diluc stared in horror as the Fatui Bracer aimed a Geo projectile right at you, his horror multiplying into rage and terror as the concentrated energy flew through the air and landed right at the base of your ribcage. You crumpled at the impact, wheezing heavily, apparently stunned from the power and speed of the attack.
How could this have happened? Diluc knew that the Fatui were gathering in Mondstadt, something that the winery owner turned Darknight Hero couldn’t stand. But never did he think to see Fatui skirmishers right outside the walls of Monstadt, strolling along the beach of Cider Lake as if it were Snezhnaya. Never did he think he’d have to see another loved one felled by a member of the Fatui, and never did he think that he could bear the emotions coursing through him now.
He made quick work of the Bracer, hacking and swinging without rhyme or reason, barely able to comprehend what was going on. Everything felt oddly separated from him, as if he were watching through someone else’s eyes, watching as he burned through the Bracer’s shields as easily as if it were made of wax, leaving the man groaning and screaming in pain before silencing him altogether.
The feeling of separation only grew more powerful as he ran over to you. You seemed to be conscious, but your breathing was shallow and ragged, and the place where the Fatui’s attack had hit seemed mangled, one of your ribs having seemingly been broken. You were screaming, though it was hoarse and low and tired. Still if you were screaming you were alive, and at least Diluc could hold onto that.
Carrying you in his arms Diluc winced as you let out another shriek of pain. You two weren’t far from the gates of Monstadt, but every step seemed to be a thousand steps and what was surely only a few hundred meters instead felt like tens of thousands of miles.
You were going to be alright. At least the doctor had said you were going to be alright. Surely Diluc could be grateful for that? But he didn’t feel grateful, instead he felt anger and hatred welling up inside of him. He’d told himself it was no good to be an angry or hateful person, that doing so would only push you away, would only destroy the fragile bonds he’d managed to build between you and a selection of others. But still the anger and the hatred lingered, refusing to be quelled or stuffed away.
He wanted revenge. Revenge on the Fatui, on the Tsaritsa, on the uncaring world that let him be so tormented, and that so tormented the ones he loved. How could this have happened to you? You who were made of goodness, more goodness than he’d found in the world beforehand. How was this a fitting reward?
It was decided that you could stay at the Winery during the 6 grueling weeks that was to be your convalescence. Diluc said nothing on the way there. He was afraid what would happened if he opened his mouth. Already he knew his face was betraying the feelings welling within him. He didn’t need to make it worse, not now.
Arriving at the Winery Diluc carried you to his room, the nicest room there was. Up to this point you’d said nothing, and Diluc wondered if you weren’t too groggy to do so. However when you spoke up there was an urgency in your voice, one he simply couldn’t ignore.
“You’re angry. You’re trying to hide it but I know it.”
“I’m not the one in pain right now.” Came a curt reply. Diluc was looking at you with what others might’ve mistaken as a glare. Perhaps it was even that, but there was something beneath it, and you knew it ultimately wasn’t directed at you.
“I am. And I’m upset too. But I’ve accepted it. You need to accept that you’re angry too. Burying it won’t help, it’ll only make it worse you know. You have to acknowledge your emotions. You don’t have to hide them. At least not in front of me.”
The expression on Diluc’s face finally broke. The anger there was raw and palapable, but there was also something else, something he’d also buried.
“I was… terrified.” Diluc finally let out. “I was so terrified it frightened me. I… I thought I was going to lose you.”
“And you shouldn’t have to hide that either.” You prodded softly. “But I’ll be alright, I promise. So please, just be open with me and then we’ll go from there.”
Diluc nodded, finding himself unable to speak. Walking over to where you were laying down he peppered kisses all over your face, light and ethereal as butterflies.
He’d do right by you. That’s what he promised himself, after all the hiding and the pain. He’d do right by you. But he’d also not forgive the Fatui for what they’d done, and tonight when Monstadt was asleep the Darknight would be watching. And for any Snezhnayan roaming the streets and lurking in the shadows, there’d be no forgiveness.

meet me in the gardens
knight!natasha romanoff x noble!fem!reader
summary: being the widow of a decently wealthy lord and sitting on a large plot of land automatically meant that you were a candidate for the program that you couldn’t say not to; the hosting. you had to sponsor a knight and keep them in your home for an entire year, which was troublesome enough on its own. but you never expected your knight to be a woman, and you certainly didn’t expect to have a full on illegal love affair with her, either.
warnings: ppl are upset, shit gets ruined, swearing? the “l” word
word count: 3.5k
what is this, like the sixth part? this was definitely supposed to be a miniseries lmao- all the other parts are on my pinned post!
The nights passed the same, but the days were entirely different. Days kept flying by, and with every single cycle of the sun, you were forced more and more by tradition to prepare your home for your future husband. It had been days since you and Natasha confessed your feelings for each other and kissed under the starlight, and still, the feeling of her arms around you and her face in your hands still ran around in your mind, pushing thoughts of your duties out of your mind without any effort. And it was for that reason, against your judgement, that you still met with Natasha Romanoff every night.
It felt like ever since the honesty started flowing, you began to feel lighter. With every glance at Natasha that became less and less stolen, your soul felt like it could deviate more and more by the second. Your mind knew what was going on, the high before the impending fall, and you knew for a fact that when you hit the ground, you were going to shatter. But you couldn't find your mind wanting to acknowledge how fragile you were becoming for love. And how could you? How could you mind the chilling fall and the results of it when Natasha cradled you so gently, just like stained glass?
Wanda was the sane one. She was the one who kept trying to bring you back down from the tops of your clouds, attempting to be the gentle reminder before reality itself slammed right into you and took your breath away in the worst of ways. She was the gentle hand of a mother that tried to shake her child out of a nightmare disguised as a dream, and you were the insolent child who ignored her.
Pietro, on the other hand, encouraged it. He was all for splurging, and that went for everything. He was a borderline glutton and when he had money, it was gone within weeks, and he was an advocate for the way that you were divulging in your own little heaven. He would smile when he saw you off in your own head, reminiscing on a memory so sweet you could have sworn it was some sort of dream. He would tell Wanda in hushed whispers to leave you alone, and that you deserved to be happy, even if it was only for a little bit.
“But she doesn’t deserve to have it ripped away from her,” Wanda said to him on a day where the sun managed to pierce through the coverage of the clouds, and he just shook his head at her, looking at her with slight pity. “It’s my duty as her friend to remind her.”
“She’s a smart girl, don’t you think she knows?” Pietro retorted, eyeing you as you picked a magnolia from your garden, standing by yourself but still smiling. “Besides, do you really think that her lady love is going to let anything happen to her?”
Wanda gasped and looked around them, on alert for anyone who could have possibly heard what her brother had said. Her eyes were wild as she watched for anyone who may have heard the scandalous words, and when she saw that everyone was minding their business, she swirled her head back to glare at Pietro. “What?”
Pietro grinned, and then his grin turned into a sneaky smirk. “What, you didn't know?” When Wanda hesitated to answer, he chuckled. ‘There’s no way you didn’t know.”
“Pietro, you can’t just say things like that,” she scolded, heart still racing at the thought of someone knowing.
“You and I are the only ones who know her well enough to know that she’s in love, and there’s no way that you haven’t seen the way that the knight is around her.”
Wanda had. She had a great read on people, always seeming to know everyone’s thoughts before they even knew it themselves. She knew the second that Natasha Romanoff started to change, and she would never forget the time where she realized that it was because of her very own dear friend.
It happened on a particularly cool day, and Wanda had dressed you in a short and flowy dress before realizing that there was a breeze outside. You had walked down to the training areas, even though you said that you were just aimlessly walking, and you kept glancing over your shoulder to watch the red head spar with a man twice her size and hold more than her own. You had looked away the second that Wanda looked at you for a moment too long, with her eyes that were always seeking answers. The first pang of realization hit Wanda that day when she saw you stand up straight and tall when Natasha started to saunter towards the both of you. The second time that she saw it was when Natasha got an eyeful of you, too, and then her flawless steps faltered for the quickest of moments. Natasha never faltered.
“It doesn’t matter what we know,” Wanda muttered lowly, putting a strand of her hair behind her ear in an attempt to look like they were having a normal conversation. “We can’t just go around saying that our lady-”
“Likes women?” He asked, and Wanda immediately started throwing curses his way. “No one ever sees past their own problems here. I can assure you, no one cares if Lady Mirellis likes lying with women.”
“No, but Brock Rumlow will care,” Wanda pointed out. “And he has the ability to make her life miserable. So please, watch your mouth. Or at least care for how loud you run it.”
“They were meant to meet,” Pietro said, his words nearly running into Wanda’s. “They were meant to meet, that much is obvious. I knew it from the second that I saw them look at each other when the redhead stepped out of the carriage.” Wanda looked at him with shock in her eyes as she watched his face flood with smugness, the sort of effortless smile that made people smile back. “What, you didn’t see that coming?” He shook his head and ruffled his sister’s hair, ignoring the angered sounds she made.
“And you say that you’re the observant twin?”
§§
The stream became your hiding place. It was the place that you and Natasha went when it all became too much for you or when she wanted to celebrate getting another step closer to finding herself. You went on good days and bad ones, but at the end of it, you felt at peace. You both ended up forgetting why you went in the first place.
Your toes were in the water, brushing up against a rock every few seconds as the red head practiced wielding her sword absentmindedly behind you, still looking graceful and as smooth as water while she did it. “What’s going to happen when you finish?”
“When I finish what?”
“When you finish your knightly duties, you know, the reason why you came in the first place?” You asked, turning your head to look at her. She had her arm straight out, sword elongating it and was mid-lunge, but her eyes were on you and her forehead had gathered wrinkles. “What’s going to happen?”
She dropped her arm abruptly and frowned. You heard her inhale over the sound of rushing water. “Well, I suppose I have to ride back to the capital.” You knew that. “I’ll be officially knighted there.”
“Are you excited?”
“It’s still a few months away,” Natasha said, and you knew that the statement was more for you than it was for her. “But when the time comes, I’ll be excited.”
You knew she would be. She rose up from nothing to possibly being a woman knighted by the king, something that had never happened before. She was proud of herself, and you were proud of her. She was the perfect knight, honorable and strong, and everything that a person with that title should be. You sat there with your lips shut, hand in hers like it was meant to be that way, and your mind moving at a speed legs couldn’t even hope for.
“Whatever you’re worrying about, darling,” Natasha said, the hand that wasn’t intertwined with you reaching up and brushing against your jaw, fingers caressing your face as she turned your head gently to face her. “Don’t.”
“If only it were that easy.”
“It could be,” she retorted, and her pointer finger brushed over your top lip. “Just stop thinking about it.”
You pursed your lips at her, shaking your head. “You truly do have a man’s brain.”
“Are you going to be able to do it?” She asked out of nowhere, and you stopped tracing her eyebrows with your finger to give her a confused look. “I guess the real question is- are you really going to do it?”
You sighed, your heart already slowly breaking. “Yes.” You said, lacking hesitancy that you felt deeply in your heart. “It won’t matter that I’ll be married to him. I swear it.”
“I believe you.”
“Nothing has to change. We’ll sneak around like we always do, we’ll be fine.”
“Hey,” Natasha said, grabbing your hands as they started to shake. Your eyes were gathering tears with every word that passed through your lips, and she made you focus on her. “I believe you.”
The rest of the night was spent as all the other nights were spent. Silence other than the sounds of nature and each other’s soft breathing. The customary breeze that came and went brushing against your bare legs and Natasha’s clothed ones. Soft touches that ranged from hands to foreheads to each other’s backs. It was so intimate, and you were so alone with her that it truly felt like you two were the only people on the planet. You never felt safer. Seeing Natasha wield a sword or wear her armor had nothing on the security that you felt when she just had you close, where there was nothing but a sliver of air between your two bodies. It was in moments like those, when she held you in her arms and kissed your temple, where you truly felt invincible.
§§
With every passing day, you fell more and more in love with Natasha Romanoff. That much was a given, and you knew that the first night at the stream was going to change your life for forever, but you never expected it to be that hard. And by it, you meant, getting married to someone you would hate just so that you could keep the woman that you loved safe.
And it felt so good to finally use that word, even if it was only in the comforts of your own mind. You loved her. You loved her like you had never loved anyone else, and you had to tell her one day. Your heart sunk to your toes when you realized that the confession would have to be in an empty forest or in your gardens or somewhere else just a s secretive, and that no one would ever find out truly how devoted you were to her. You were never going to be able to tell the world that you loved her, and that was for more reasons than one.
You were going to marry Brock Rumlow the day after he arrived. And that day was hardly even approaching anymore, it was on your doorstep. It was so close, in fact, that you were standing in your wedding gown and crying as you tried it on one last time before the fateful day.
One second, Wanda was doing your corset and fixing the collar on the traditional wedding dress and the next- she was watching you lose your mind. “I really- I can’t do it.” You had a hand over your mouth as you looked up towards the ceiling. You collapsed to the floor despite your chest struggling to expand and catch a breath while the corset constricted. Your hands covered your face as you allowed yourself to have a good cry for the first time in what felt like years.
“Oh, sweetheart.” Wanda breathed out, and you could feel the heartbreak in her just like it was in you. “I know. I know, just cry it all out.”
Your head was spinning. You had no idea what terrible choices you had made for life to bring you to the spot that you were soon to arrive at and be stuck in forever. You had no idea what you had done to the world to make the universe want to make your life miserable. “I can’t do it.”
“If you’re afraid that he’ll hurt you…” Wanda started off, a slight tremble in her voice as she tried to gather her own bearings and be strong for you, “Pietro and I won’t let it happen. Pietro is strong, and I’m fierce when it comes to the two of you, you know that. Nothing will ever happen to you while we’re here.”
“I can’t marry him,” you sobbed, and it felt like you were being crushed into a hug by the corset. “I can’t.”
“I will be with you every step of the way, just like I was before, darling.”
“No!” You wailed, and you felt Wanda startle a bit. You were going in circles in your own mind, s fast that you couldn’t even stop your lips from moving if you had tried. “I can’t- I cannot marry him because my heart is fully in the possession of another.” You admitted lowly, so quietly that Wanda hardly even heard it. “I can’t.”
Wanda waited a few moments before speaking again. “It’s Natasha isn’t it?”
You stiffened up immediately, almost forgetting that quickly that you had shared the only secret that you ever kept from Wanda. Natasha. “What?”
“Pietro and I have known you for what feels like centuries,” Wanda said rubbing a smooth hand up and down your back. “Did you really think that we hadn’t caught on?”
You looked up at her, panic manifesting in your eyes. “Who else knows?” If you were in a rational state of mind, you would have known that Wanda and Pietro would never run their mouths, especially not about something that meant life or death. And you being with someone- a woman at that- before your betrothed came? That meant certain death for the both of you. ‘W-Wanda-”
“No one knows,” she said soothingly, a promise deep rooted in her tone. “Just the two of us. You hid it surprisingly well, but you can’t hide from your family.”
And they were family. The only ones you considered to be family, actually. “So now you know why.” Wanda nodded, and then the two of you sat on your wooden floor in silence, but it felt awfully loud with the thoughts running through you.
It felt like ages had passed by the time Wanda’s voice flooded your senses again, the despair in it hardly hidden. “What are you going to do?”
“Try to keep us both alive.”
§§
Your eyes were shut as you laid on your back and tried to will the tears away. Natasha was next to you, and you were supposed to be stargazing during your last night of freedom. You had been keeping it together, but the second Natasha heard a sniffle, she shook her head and leaned up on her arm.
“You are not going to mope on our last- you know what? You’re just not going to mope tonight. Stand up.” Before you could even tell her that you didn’t want to she was yanking you up with one hand. You stumbled forward and into her arms, unable to stop yourself from giggling a bit before she steadied you.
The moonlight was your friend as it lit her face, and like you always did, you momentarily lost your breath while the two of you locked eyes, yours clashing with her blue ones and creating a tension that you were so familiar with, the kind that everyone craved. “If there was no rush, nothing threatening to tear us apart, would you agree to marry me right now?”
You blinked. “What?”
“In another life,” Natasha said, and you nodded with hesitant encouragement. “If this was another life and I was someone in a position to get down on one knee and marry you, would you tell me yes?” You stood there tongue tied, holding both of her hands as she stared at you head on. “If I were a man, a wealthy man who loved you for you, just like I do now, would you tell me yes? Would you agree to marry me if there were no obstacles?”
Once you understood the depth of her question, the answer that had been stirring within finally came to light, and then it was leaving your lips in a surprised exhalation. “Yes.”
“Good,” Natasha said, the apprehension melting off of her face. She took a step back, but still held your hands tightly. “I’ll make it a point to find you in the next life, then.”
The next life. An unknown. Something that had so many variables, so many different meanings and outcomes. She was so optimistic, for someone who had seen so much hurt and suffering. But you were a realist, you had to be after everything that happened to you. And you knew deep down, no matter how much you willed for there to be one, that there was no second chance at a next life for you. And there wasn’t one for her, either. You didn’t have the next life. You didn’t even have the one you lived in. But you had a single night.
“I would marry you tonight,” you said softly, and when you heard her breathing hitch, you turned your head to look at her, watching the slightest of flushes appear on her cheeks, like she was surprised that you would have even said the words that you did. “Even with everything going on right now, I would marry you. I would marry you with or without the people who hate us for loving who we do, and with or without Brock Rumlow coming in the morning. If I could, I would marry you. If you’d have me, of course.”
“Of course I would,” she said, relief lacing in her voice as she touched your face, and one of your tears hit her pointer finger. “And it’s too late now, I’m afraid, but, I love you,” she said, and just like that, all of your worry and frustration and fear had melted away, like you were in some stupid fairy tale that queens tell their daughters at night. “Is that enough?”
No. It wasn’t. Not when it came to her. You wanted to give your all to her and you wanted it back from her. But as quick as you realized that you wanted it all, you realized that you would never get it. So, the little confessions and hugs and caresses in the dark were going to have to be enough. You would make them enough. “It’s enough,” you said, because wanting was enough. Being with her in the night and desiring for her during the day was enough. “It’s enough.”
§§
You expected a more calm entrance from Lord Rumlow, but then again, you didn’t know him. But the second all of his horses and men came barreling down the road, you felt like you knew him quite enough.
You knew all men like him at first glance.
Wanda was on your left, and Pietro on your right as you stood in a pretty, floral dress that Wanda picked out for you. It was silent when she dressed you, but all the words were there. She did your hair the way that you usually did it, said you looked beautiful, and then the next thing you knew, you were standing and watching carriages arrive.
Natasha wasn’t there.
You honestly didn’t know if it was worse or better for you.
When the fanfare was finally over and the door to the grandest chariot of them all opened, you held your breath. And then, before you could even stop yourself, you thought, I’m about to see what a true monster looks like.
He was a big man. Muscular, sturdy looking, and intimidating. You immediately understood why he came off as so hostile in the letters, and it was because he was so scary looking that he could get away with nearly anything. You tilted your head upwards in defiance, meeting his eyes even though he cocked a brow at you, easily recognizing you as his betrothed, and as a woman who was directly challenging him.
He took a few steps closer, but like he knew of your extreme aversion to him and the way that you had two people beside you that would defend you fiercely, he stopped at a far enough distance. His expensive shoes dug up your grass, and you would have flinched if it weren’t for his steely, self assured voice coming your way. “You must be my wife.”
You couldn’t even scoff. “Not yet.”
“But tomorrow is coming,” he said, looking around the estate, clearly pleased with the way it looked. He nodded his head once, twice, and then three times, before his gaze settled on you again, and he looked you up and down. “Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Good Girl, Bad Boy
Characters: F!Reader, Jared, Jensen
Pairing: J2 x F!Reader
Summary: Jared can't follow Jensen's rules, so Jensen uses Y/N to punish him.
Word Count: 2.2k+
Warnings: polyamory, orgasm denial, cock cages, dom/sub relationships, daddy!kink, dom!jensen, switch!reader, switch!jared, M/M sex, anal play, anal sex, oral (m/f receiving), a miniscule dash of fluff. Y'all this smut from the onset!
A/N: So @hoboal87 and I absolutely LOVE to discuss and theorize fics on Bee's Discord server. We work so well together that @writethelifeyouwant challenged us to collaborate on a fic. @negans-lucille-tblr provided the prompt, "Jensen needs to punish Jared, and he's using Y/N to do it." This was written through a series of reblogs, with Alex and I only writing one part at a time with no discussions about what the other was going to do. The original post is here.
Special thanks to @hoboal87 for putting all of the reblogs together, creating such an awesome graphic, and for finishing the fic when I had to tap out to go to sleep. 😂 This was so fun and I'm excited for the next time we do it. (I also highly recommend checking out Alex's masterlist. She has got some amazing fics on there.🥰)

“Since you can’t do as you’re told, we’ll have to use this instead,” Jensen grunts as he fastens the cage around Jared’s now softening cock.
Y/N leaned forward and pulled Jared’s wrists up to hook them into the handcuffs attached to the headboard. Jared whined as Jensen grinned and said, “No touching now, baby boy.”
Y/N moves onto Jared thigh, positioning her bare pussy on top of him as Jensen ties Jared's ankles, keeping him spread eagle. Slowly, Y/N starts to rock forward on Jared’s thigh, spreading her slick along his skin. Jared’s gaze zeroed in on his shiny flesh as he let out a low moan at the sight.
"Nuh-uh, babygirl," Jensen scolds you, letting his voice drop. You were already tense from a day full of teasing and you both know its not going to take much for the coil to snap. "If you're gonna get off, you'd better have my cock in you."
Y/N stopped moving immediately with a small whimper.
“Remember that we’re punishing Jared for coming without permission. You don’t want to be punished too, do you? Now you know what to do next.” Y/N nodded as she ran her hand down Jared’s caged cock, to his balls, to his still gaping hole.
Slowly, Y/N started to tease Jared hole. Jensen had instructed him to keep a plug in him while he was in quarantine, edge himself over and over again, but no cumming. Jared, the brat, of course couldn't help himself, sending you a video of him jerking off, spilling himself onto his tan and taut stomach. He'd begged you not to show Jensen, but you knew better than to hide this from him, lest you get your own punishment.
Part of you just wanted to help Jensen punish Jared though. It was one of the few times that Jensen gave you some control. You still had the rules to follow, of course, but it meant that you could play with Jared and watch him become desperate underneath your hands, your fingers. You smiled as you teased a finger into Jared’s hole to press against his prostate as he jerked beneath you. Jensen laughed, “Better hold on tight if you’re gonna play that game Y/N.”
Your mouth waters as you watch Jared's cock twitch in its cage, and he lets out another whimper as you hit his prostate again. Jensen moves behind you, his hand connecting with the bare flesh of your ass. It's not enough to leave a mark, only to remind you that you might be currently domming Jared, but Jensen was the alpha in the room. You let out a low moan when Jensen's fingers run through your slick, and you can practically see the smirk on his face.
"My two perfect little cock-sluts," Jensen works his thumb over your tightest hole. "Whaddya think I'll be the best way to show Jare that he should always follow Daddy's orders?"
You shivered as you pressed back against Jensen’s finger. You worked another finger into Jared and pressed against his prostate again without letting up. Jared’s back arch and he let out such a delicious whine that had goosebumps rising all over your bare skin. Jensen slowly pushed his own thumb through the tight ring of muscles at your hole and you let out your own gasp. You worked yourself back and forth on his thumb before turning your head and asking Jensen, “Can I pick something from the toy box to use on him, Daddy?”
"I dunno, babygirl," Jensen tsks, slipping two fingers into your dripping pussy, causing you to gasp out. You'd been under the same orders as Jared; two weeks without cumming, and the feel of his thick digits inside of you almost sends you over the edge. "Our baby boy wants to be fucked, and I don't think it'll be much of a punishment" -- Jensen slides a third finger into you -- "if we give 'im what he wants."
Jensen twists and pumps his fingers inside you, searching until he finds that spot inside you. You pull your fingers from Jared’s hole unable to continue playing with him as you moan out. You lean forward draping yourself over Jared’s sweat slick skin as Jensen thrusts his fingers in and out, faster and faster. “No coming yet, baby girl. ‘Member what I said? Can’t come till it’s my cock in you.” You whined and nodded before pressing your mouth against Jared’s chest. After Jensen hit that spot again, you bit down into Jared’s chest leaving teeth marks as Jared gasped out and his cock twitched in its cage.
Jared tugs against his restraints, "please, Jen," he begs, "lemme touch." You love seeing Jared like this, desperate and needy, giving all control up to you and Jensen. You want to have his hands on you as well, but you'll have to wait until Jensen's done doling out Jared's punishment. The most you can settle for at the moment, is a rough and sloppy kiss from Jared. You run your hands into his hair, giving it a tug as your tongue licks into his mouth.
“No, no baby boy. Y/N was a good girl, she waited like she was supposed to. You were bad. You don’t get to touch. You don’t get to decide.” Jensen taunted. He came around the side of the bed closest to Jared. Jared looked up at him as you ran your fingertips down his chest, sucking dark marks into the tan skin as you went. Jared whined at Jensen again. “Please Daddy? I can be good!” Jared pulled involuntarily at the restraints again as you tugged a nipple between your teeth. Jensen smirked down at you both before leaning down taking Jared’s mouth hungrily with his own. You watched the kiss, feeling the wetness pooling even more between your thighs. Jensen pulled away and Jared chased his lips, but Jensen stayed just out of reach. “Why don’t you prove it, baby boy?” Jensen said with another smirk.
Jared nodded eagerly, and Jensen let out a barely audible good boy. Jensen brought his lips to yours and smacked your ass again with a command of ‘up.’ You lift your ass into the air, straddling your body over Jared’s, letting your breasts just barely touch his chest. The sound of Jensen removing his belt is like music to your ears, and you can feel yourself getting wetter by the second. Jensen wastes no time, swiftly entering you and burying himself to the root. You’re glad he started to open you up with his fingers, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to enjoy this nearly as much. He holds himself there for a moment, before grabbing you by the nape of your neck, bringing your back flush to his chest. “Bet it won’ take ya long to cum, will it, slut?” he grunts as he starts thrusting into you.
You reach your hands down and grip onto Jared’s hips to hold on as Jensen thrusts grow harder and deeper. You can feel the coil tightening and tightening in your belly as Jensen’s hand slides around the front of your throat gripping just tight enough. His other hand slides down over your breasts and belly to start circling your clit harshly. You close your eyes and lean your head back on Jensen’s shoulder, panting. You feel Jensen bite at your neck before whispering into your ear, “Open your eyes baby girl. Look at what we’re doing to our boy.” You open your eyes and look down at Jared. His knuckles are white as his large hands are wrapped around the chain of the handcuffs and his hips are jerking up softly as his cock leaks precum onto his beautiful stomach. He’s making soft whines and whimpers that immediately make you remember the video he sent to you. The one that got him in trouble. Your gaze moves up from his cock and belly over all the little marks you left on his chest, and over his throat that is tensed as his Adam’s apple bobs up and down with each deep swallow. Finally, your hungry gaze meets his and you cum with a scream as you meet his lust black eyes.
“See?” Jensen grunts, moving one of his hands down your belly and over your clit. He starts rubbing you, working you through your orgasm and straight into another. You’ve barely come down before the coil snaps again and you sag against Jensen’s body.
“Those who follow the rules get rewarded.” If you weren’t on cloud nine, you’d feel bad for Jared, his cock straining against the cage. “Whaddya want now, babygirl?” Jensen groans as he slows his hips. You’re too orgasm drunk to form any coherent thoughts, all you want now is Jared’s mouth, and Jensen seems to notice when your eyes fall on them and you lick your lips. “You wan’ Jared to eat my cum out of you?” Jensen taunts, and you nod your head.
“Okay, baby, because you’ve been such a good girl, we’ll let Jared use his perfect mouth.” Jared hums in approval, and Jensen speeds up his thrusts, and after a few moments, he’s cumming hot and sticky inside you. He pulls out quickly, and you can feel him dripping down your thighs as you crawl back over Jared, placing your pussy above his mouth.
You grip the headboard next to the handcuffs and lower yourself down. Jared leans forward and licks up your inner thighs collecting the cum that escaped your pussy. He hums happily at the taste as he makes his way to your still dripping hole. The chain rattled as Jared pulled against them again. His long tongue dipped into your hole as you pushed down onto him more.
“Would you like me to remove the handcuffs?” Jensen asked from behind you. Jared pulled back a little as you moved your hips to follow his mouth and said “Yes, Daddy.” Jensen chuckled.
“Oh, baby boy, I wasn’t asking you. I was asking Y/N. Do you want Jared to be able to hold you still? While he eats every last drop of my cum?”
“Yes, please daddy. Please let him touch me.” You whined out.
“Ok, baby girl. For you.” Jensen reached forward and opened the cuffs, releasing Jared’s wrists. His hands immediately flew to your hips and yanked you further down onto his mouth. You let out a gasp as Jensen warned, “That’s the only place you can touch for now, baby boy. No where else.”
Jared agrees happily against your pussy, humming as his tongue moves frantically through your folds. His grip on your thighs tighten, and you’re sure that there will be imprints of his hands bruised on you tomorrow, not that you mind. You grind your pussy against his face harder, chasing one final orgasm, but you wanted to be able to see Jensen when you came-- another punishment for Jared. His name, not Jared’s, is the one you’re going to scream out. As you feel your third orgasm start to crest, you stop, and reach behind you for Jensen, you don’t feel him there, and you let out a needy whine. You turn your head and see Jensen on his belly, tonguing Jared’s hole, and slowly stroking his now-released cock. You reach out and tug on his short strands, not enough to elicit a punishment, but just to get his attention.
“What’s a-matter, baby?” Jensen pulls up, and Jared groans at the loss of Jensen.
“Need you, Daddy,” you moan. “Wanna see you when I cum.”
You turn yourself around so that you’re now facing Jensen, who starts working his cock into Jared. You lean forward, so that Jared’s cock is right under you, you look up at Jensen with wide eyes, asking silent permission to take his cock in your mouth.
“You don’t cum until I say so,” Jensen places his hand on Jared’s thigh, and you know he’s talking to both of you. “If you do, I’ll only be using those slutty mouths of yours for the next two weeks, and you won’t be able to cum that whole time, is that understood?”
You lift off of Jared slightly so that Jensen can hear a “Yes, Daddy,” from each of you.
You work Jared into your mouth, swirling your tongue around him, hollowing your cheeks and taking him as deep as you can. One of Jared’s hands disappears from your thigh as starts teasing your hole, working you into a frenzy. Jensen either doesn’t notice or doesn’t care, but you’re sure that he’ll make Jared pay for his disobedience later. When Jensen gives him permission, Jared cums with a groan, hot and salty down your throat, and you greedily swallow every drop.
Jensen then pulls out of Jared, stroking himself as his spills over Jared’s stomach. “If you’re good, next time I’ll cum in this tight little ass of yours,” he scolds. “Now, since Y/N is the only one who can be a good girl, you’ve got 30 seconds to make her cum, or you’ll be wearing that cock cage for another week.”
Jensen scoops up his cum with his fingers, and brings them to your mouth, where you eagerly suck them dry. It only takes another moment before you cum a final time on Jared’s face. You take a moment to catch your breath before crawling off of Jared, and lay down next to him, Jensen appearing at your other side, sandwiching you between the boys.
“Y’all miss me?” Jensen breaks the silence.
“You know it’s not the same when you’re not here,” Jared speaks over you. “Now that The Boys is done, you can have a role on Walker. Come home to us every night.”

our secret
summary: fratboy!donghyuck turns paperboy! when he needs some extra money for college stuff like textbooks. he thinks delivering way outside of campus will save face from being a measly paperboy, but little does he know, the front yard light he hits (and breaks) belongs to his significantly well off classmate... (3k)
warnings: strong language here and there genre: enemies to ..friends? a/n: I’ve merged these two requests together! meaning I have and haven’t included aspects of each, hope that’s okay! (2021 edit: hi I found this in my drafts from last year and idk why I never posted it so yeah, here we go)
“You’re late.” Your professor calls out as Donghyuck fails to sneak into lecture hall unnoticed
You sigh, you’d think he’d at least look ashamed to step foot into class at such a late time
You suppose with Lee Donghyuck, things were always different
The boy winces comically, inhaling between his teeth brazenly, and students stifle their laughter
Then with a simple raise of his hand, he gestures a flimsy ‘my bad’ and a ‘continue, continue’ before charmingly wiping the sweat off his brow and sitting in the empty seat saved by his friends
The professor frowns, “you’re late.” He repeats as if to encourage the young rebel to at least say something
“I’m Haechan,” the rebel says under his breath, flopping his backpack onto the desk, “not ‘late’” a sarcastic smile stretching his lips as his friends snicker at his dumb joke
You roll your eyes, he was unbelievable.
“Alright, alright, that’s enough.” The professor claps his hands. “And Mr. Late,” he emphasizes, “don’t think you’re getting away with anything.”
So he drops it on him like a bomb: “For the rest of this week, meet me in the office an hour before classes start.”
The grin on Donghyuck’s face immediately wipes off his face and his heart drops to his stomach
“Prof!” He whines back
Karma, you think. That’s what he gets for being so up his own ass
It wouldn’t kill him to wake up a little bit earlier. He relied so much on his ‘so loveable’ personality and popularity, you couldn’t stand it
If you even attempted to do half the things he got away with, you’d be expelled by now
You drop your pen and lean back into your seat with a sigh, you had no choice but to sit back and watch him waste valuable lesson time over this insolence
“You can’t do that!” Seriously, Donghyuck would do anything else other than doing extra hours in the morning
“And you can’t be late to my lectures all the time. What are you not getting here Mr. Late?”
“But I can’t.” Donghyuck immediately regrets saying that out loud like that; the vulnerability in his voice a little too close to home
“And, why not?” Your professor bounces back thankfully brushing past the genuine desperation in his students voice
The reason why not was something ‘Lee Haechan’ couldn’t say out loud. If he did, he’d lose everything
So instead, he sticks with his usual tongue-in-cheek mannerism, “because I don’t want to.”—A sneaky beat around the bush on his part because, little did everyone know, Lee Haechan, the star player and everyone’s favorite goofball, was a measly paperboy
Why?
Because he was dumb broke.
It was a job that required him waking up extra early to race around neighborhoods on his bike, something he had to do regardless rain or sun just tossing as many papers onto people's front porches,
Something he already was finding so much of a difficulty doing: racing to class and acting as if his muscles weren’t burning or the fabric under is backpack wasn’t drenched in sweat
But now this ‘meet me in the office an hour earlier than classes start’ bullshit
That would mean he’d have to wake up even earlier than he already did!
“Doesn’t matter if you don’t want to, you’re going to.” Is the last thing your professor says on that topic before swiftly moving on.
Oh to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth, is what he always thinks as he cycles his rounds in the wealthy neighborhood
If there was one thing he didn’t have, it was this.
He looks at the blaringly affluent homes that surrounded him and heaves another sigh, the same road he rides every morning (and now this extra early morning) effortlessly reminding him of how absolutely poor his ass was
Grumbling under his breath in a tantrum about his professor in his head, he angrily hurls newspapers onto doorsteps
It was the fact that he had to deal with this at ungodly hours in the morning—as if this job wasn’t already enough
Donghyuck frustratedly hurls another newspaper, but this time around, it shoots straight into someone's front garden post light, knocking it over and completely disrupting the perfect order in which the other trail of foot lights were set in
What the heck?
Immediately, he hits the breaks, his tires screeching loudly in the quietness of the early morning
Profanities frantically leave his lips as he hurriedly drops his bike onto the sidewalk in a clatter, and runs ahead to see the damage he’s made
The lamp was perfectly struck to its side.
Well, that’s just great—he can’t afford college textbooks let alone the broken path lamp on some rich persons lawn
So, his first thoughts are to pull it back into the place, completely irrational, but it’s the only thing that runs through his mind when he’s on a time crunch to get off private property
Except, the damn thing is stuck; literally cemented into this lopsided tilt
Man, Donghyuck swears he could tug all day and it wouldn’t get back into place
It was like the universe was having fun being against him
You, on the other hand, were watching this boy struggle to fix your light back into place from the comfort of your window.
He looked ridiculously cute trying to tug that lamp back into place, curled almost into a ball in the middle of your lawn, his eyebrows sewn into a line of frustration and lips pursed
You knew he was your paperboy from the start of his laborious cycling trips, but did Donghyuck know he was delivering papers to his very own classmate every morning?
You guess not.
...Until now
You knock three times from behind the glass, successfully capturing the boy's attention before mouthing, “what are you doing?”
The agitation on his features drops and immediately his eyes widen at your familiar face
Except, he isn’t given much time to reply before the lamp between his fingers gives in to his weight and recoils back smacking him right in the nose
“Holy shit!” You forget you’re only in socks when you open your front door and race towards him
Donghyuck automatically drops the (now broken) piece of your lawn to cup his bruising face
“Ah- Fucking shit- Ow!” He bends forwards on his knees into the grass, forehead pressing into your lawn before he rocks back up again to scrunch a deep frown up towards the sky. “Jesus-”
“Are you okay?!” Dropping to your knees, you place a cautious hand to his back
“Yes.” He groans into his palms, rocking back down towards the grass again
He definitely wasn’t.
But he needed to get out of there quick; there’s no way he’d let you recognize him
Yeah, you weren’t that stupid.
“Let me see,” you carefully bring him up by his shoulders, your head leaning down towards his to see the damage
“No- Ow! Crap-”
“You’re bleeding!” You try to pry at his wrists but he rips away from your hands
That’s when Donghyuck finally looks up to scowl at you; a frown stitched hard into into his forehead, eyes watering, hair all ruffled, but most alarmingly—a scarlet ribbon of blood running down his wrists
“I’m okay.” He muffles into his hands.
And wow did he look like an idiot.
“Sorry about your-”
“Jesus Hyuck, you’re not fooling anyone.”
The boy visibly stiffens at your choice of his name
“Haechan.” You quickly correct yourself
He gulps
You glance away
“Let’s just put an ice-pack on that.” Then you’re dragging him into your house
“Quit moving!” You dab a wet cloth across the cut above Donghyuck’s lip
“Well, it hurts.” He tries to complain without moving his mouth too much
You purse your lips and Donghyuck attempts to adjust the ice pack on his nose despite your warning
With a sigh, you take his wrist and bring his arm down to his lap, “Hyuck, if you keep-” you feel him stiffen under your touch. “Haechan.” You keep doing that. “Sorry.”
He just diverts his eyes elsewhere and mumbles, “It’s whatever.” under his breath
So, you bring your attention back to cleaning his cut, your cheeks heating up at the thought of how much of a creep you probably were by calling him by his old name
“I’m-”
“Y/n.” His voice was a little clearer this time, a soft frown on his face, “I remember.”
He kind of wished you didn’t though. This was so embarrassing.
You pull the cloth away from his reddening cheeks, that annoyed flustered look on his face pulling at the nostalgia in you
It was only natural to call him ‘Hyuck’ because you had been going to the same school as him for years
Ever since you were kids, through highschool and now somehow, still impossibly in college, you’ve been with him
You almost had every class with the loud idiot back when he was still ‘Donghyuck’
For as long as you could remember, he had always been the center of gravity in every class, his punchy personality and almost too friendly way of speaking easily giving him the ‘popular’ tag
It made you have a bit of a crush on him when you were younger, but who didn’t?
Now, you found him irritating.
The only thought you had about him consisted of wishing he’d stop using his status to his advantage and just come to class right instead of wasting your lesson time
“Can I ask you something?” He dodges your hand for a second, eyes looking down as if to hide away his embarrassment
“Sure,” you naturally reach forward again to dab his cut, but he stops you at the wrist
“Can you,” you lift your focus away from his lip to the slight grimace on his face, “not tell anyone about this?”
You blink at him, and a muscle works in his jaw
“Seriously, people can’t know about this.”
But you simply pull your wrist out of his grip and go back to tending to his wound
You hadn’t told anyone since you’d found he was your paperboy, and that was weeks ago. So why was he so worked up?
Hadn’t the situation already called for it anyway? Who in their right mind would tell anyone after this? For you, it was obviously common courtesy
But before you can reply, he tilts his face into your line of vision. “Are you listening to me?” The frown on his face deepens and he instantly brings the ice pack in this hand over his face at the sudden pain through his nose
That attitude of his easily drove you crazy.
“That was a stupid question.” You give up on cleaning the blood on his lip and push the ice-pack deeper into his face, “if you used that stupid, egotistical brain of yours-”
“Ah! Ow- Ooow-”
“Maybe you’d realize I’ve never told anyone about your paper rounds before.”
“Ow!” He wrenches away from your frustrated grip, the look on his face just as annoyed as you. “You’re going to break my nose!”
“You broke my yard lamp!”
He looks at you with a huff; a slight puff to his reddened cheeks, furrowed brows and tears ever so slightly brimming his eyes
If that lamp didn’t cost about five times the price of his bike he’d say something back.
You easily read that off his expression
“You don’t have to pay for it.” You start to pack up the first-aid kit you’d opened up on your coffee table just to not look at him in the eyes when you say that
As much as he irritated you, you weren’t that petty
“Really?” The genuine doubt in his face relaxing the annoyance in you a little
“Yeah.” Money wasn’t a problem for you, it was his attitude
But the casualness Donghyuck catches in your tone reminds him of the starkly different worlds you live in
So he musters it up within himself to at least show some kind of gratitude, “...Thanks.”
And it’s almost inaudible when he says it under his breath like that
But you catch it as you pull a bandaid out of the box before you close it
“On one condition.” You turn to look at him dead in the eyes.
One of his brows slightly quirk up in interest
“Hand.”
He opens his palm to you and you purposely slap the bandaid into it.
“Stop coming late to class, you’re wasting everyone's time.”
Instantly, his jaw goes slack.
Unable to say anything he stares as you rise from your seat in content, first aid kit in hand, before walking behind the sofa towards the kitchen
You didn’t have to say it like that.
He swings an elbow over the back of the couch, “Sorry for bringing you the paper every morning!” Maybe he was a little offended
You turn on your heels to face him, noticing the bandaid now crushed in the fist of the hand he had over the couch and ice-pack abandoned on the coffee table (the full glory of his bruising nose and cut lip on show)
“I said ‘don’t be late’ not ‘don’t bring me the paper’.” Then you disappear into the kitchen.
Donghyuck has to close his eyes for a second, exhaling a frustrated sigh before standing up in a huff and following your footsteps.
How could you say something so insensitive? Yeah, maybe he broke your lamp or whatever, but he tried to fix it!
And sure, he was sort of bleeding over your couch and used your ice pack, but he totally said thanks
“That’s just- You’re so,” He’s standing at the doorway by the time you’re done, bandaid still stuck in the frustrated grip of his hand
“So what, Hyuck?”
Seeing the all star, team favorite class clown crumble at the simple play of his old nickname made something in your stirr
“Insufferable.”
You? Your lips turn up in amusement. He was the insufferable one, you almost scoff
“You and your big house, fancy first aid kit, stupid lamps on your lawn,” he takes a bold step forward at every reason until he’s one step to being chest to chest, “I’m just trying to do my job, and go to class.”
You look at him straight in the eyes. “Well, you’re hardly succeeding at either of those.”
You...
Donghyuck runs his tongue across his inner cheek before biting down on his bottom lip in a brazen attempt to act unfazed by that fatal side comment
A coppery, metal taste pricks his tongue, and he realizes he’s reopened up the cut on his lip again
But that was the least of his worries. You had no idea what it was like being broke. If there was anything he didn’t have, it was everything you did. You probably couldn’t even fathom the type of shit he’s had to go through and even more so: hide.
The way you acted as if his biggest problem in life was as easy as brushing the dust of his shoulder just pissed him off.
“Have you ever thought of waking up earlier?”
Ah, there it was again, Donghyuck wants to roll his eyes
“I sleep late.” He says dryly.
“Then sleep earlier.”
“I have other shit to do, like study.”
“Then, manage your time better.” If he really wanted to ‘do his job’ and ‘get to class’, he could’ve done it by now.
He was always messing about with friends and organizing parties, stories spread around like wildfire on campus about the things he occupied himself with other than ‘having shit to do like studying’, you weren’t stupid
It was by the end of high school, when you began to see him as a person who valued himself with the amount of friends knew or the amount of partying he did
And at first you were mad that he had the things you never did, but seeing him easily get washed up by it all made you think maybe you didn’t need what he had
Now you figure his ego was so far up his ass he couldn’t even sit right—that’s probably why he couldn’t cycle to class on time
“And don’t use your bike, you’re clearly slow on it.” You tack on.
“I don’t even have a car!” He snaps back
He made you want to pull out your own hair. “Jeez, first this, then that, god Hyuck, you keep-”
“You say that as if it were so easy,” his words overlapping yours as you continue
“-making up so much bullshit because the only thing you really put effort into is your image,” Your words running over his too.
“-if I could get a car, don’t you think I’d have one already?”
“Then I’ll just take you!” That puts both of you to a stop.
“So, quit giving me stupid excuses to ruin my lectures every day.” If the things money could buy were what he needed, you had it
You snatch the bandaid out of his fist, rip it open and harshly stick it across his bottom lip. It was annoying to see him ignore it like that.
“You usually finish an hour before class right?” You frown up at him
Donghyuck opens his mouth then closes it again.
“Because if you reroute and make me the last house, I’ll take you with me by car.”
“What?” He manages to say. What the hell just happened?
a/n: okay so there was a lot more to the story and character development but it ran too long I had to cut it off bc I cba to edit lmao
also I seemed to have gone way out of the request lines near the end my bad my bad, but I at least hope you’ve enjoyed it! thoughts???? a part 2?

Mint
Trying my hand at @thatesqcrush’s summer bingo
Smut is definitely not something I write or post often. I’m still a little shy about it. So, please bear with me! As such, I suspect this fic is pretty vanilla and I wasn’t sure which square it would cover for the bingo...Is it praise? Or just the free space? 🤷🏽♀️
Pairing: Sonny Carisi x Reader
Words: 1270
Warnings: smut, married smut, slight praise, idk how to tag this stuff...NSFW! Reader discression is advised!
AO3 here
I’m going to go run and hide under a rock while I unleash this filth unto the internet...
Mint
"Hey, babe!" you call out after hearing the front door open and your husband step in.
Instead of answering, he simply walks over behind your spot on the couch and bends down to capture your lips in a sweet kiss. It's not the awkwardness of this half upside-down smooch that catches you off guard, but rather the cool shot of mint you receive from Sonny's mouth.
"Brrr!" you exaggerate, mashing your lips together to savor the taste.
Sonny smirks. "Sorry, doll. Popped a gum before I left the office."
"It's not a bad thing," you purr. "Mint is one of my favorite flavors. So refreshing and leaves you all tingly."
"That so?" he plays along, nibbling his bottom lip.
You bat your eyelashes. "Mmhmm."
Sonny raises an eyebrow at you and nods. A sly grin teases at the corner of his mouth before he dips down for another kiss.
---
You had completely forgotten about the little mint incident of a few weeks ago and it was especially the last thing on your mind as you lay naked on the bed in front of Sonny. Tonight, he wanted to treat you: his way of making up for the many late nights he'd been spending at his office. And really, who were you to argue with that?
The anticipation of not knowing Sonny’s plan is already setting your belly on fire. Desperate to find out, you wiggle your hips as a subtle way of telling Sonny to get on with it.
"Patience, sweetheart," he breathes, reaching for something out of sight. Then, he produces a bottle of what looks like lube.
"Uhm, Sonny, babe,” you speak up gently, “I really don't think we need that." You can feel the dampness pooling between your legs, and Sonny would know how wet you are too if he'd just touch you already!
Sonny chuckles at your impatience. "I promised that I would take care of ya tonight, doll, so ya gotta trust me." His voice is smooth like silk but shrouded in lust. Despite how much he’s trying to keep his composure, you know that in reality he can't wait to start whatever it is that he has prepared for you.
Playfully, you stick your tongue out at him while Sonny squeezes some of the product into his hand. Then finally he reaches out and touches you, smearing the gel between your legs. You're too distracted by the relief the friction provides to notice exactly what type of product he's used. That is, until it hits you. The coolness sinks into your skin and begins to tingle. Immediately, you clamp your thighs together. A gasp escapes your throat, the sensation overwhelming you.
"You okay, doll?" Sonny asks, worried it's too much.
"Mint?" you shudder as another wave of tingles overtakes your senses. This time however, you moan in pleasure as a flood of wetness rushes down below. You try to steady your breathing and lock eyes with your husband, smiling.
Sonny’s features ease and you can see his pupils dilate. "Ya did say that mint was your favorite..." He takes his fingers and runs them through your folds again. "Wow, doll! Works fast."
Your hips buck to meet his hand and he leans in to gently blow air over you. This sets the mint into action once more, your skin breaking out into goosebumps. Sonny swiftly slips two fingers into you causing you to arch your back off the bed. "Oh God," you whimper, hands fisting the bed sheets.
Sonny sets a steady pace, pumping his fingers into your hot core. Despite the coolness from the mint, a sheen of sweat forms across your chest. You begin meeting his fingers with your hips, but just as he finds that perfect spot, Sonny withdraws completely. You whine in protest only for him to give you a devilish grin.
Sonny then takes the bottle and squirts a generous amount onto his fingers before plunging them back into you. You cry out as the mint instantly hits you and you clamp down around his digits.
“So responsive, doll,” he whispers his praise, bowing his head to kiss the inside of your thigh. He then splays his free hand overtop your belly, gently holding you in place before he sets a quick pace, pumping his fingers into you once more. This time he curls them just so, effectively hitting that one sensitive spot every time.
Your whole body tingles, the coolness radiating out from your core. You moan and writhe, completely at the mercy of your husband and the tingling mint. Sonny can feel your walls begin to flutter. “I love fucking you like this,” he says in a low growl. “You’re almost there, doll. Now, let go for me.”
With his words, you come undone. Your thighs lock his hand in place as you pulse around his fingers. You’re left panting, brain in a daze, coming down from your high.
"You're gorgeous," he murmurs, mesmerized by the rise and fall of your breasts. "That was a powerful one, sweetheart. You think you could do that again for me?"
You understand what he means; what he needs. He wants to feel you quake around his cock like you did around his fingers. Emboldened, you reply, "I'd like to see you try.”
And with that Sonny sheds his boxers, freeing himself. Pleasuring you has made him painfully ready. He grabs the bottle of mint and squirts you with it, quickly tossing it aside to hover over you. You reach out and give him a few quick strokes. His eyes cram shut and his head falls forward, allowing you the opportunity to run him through your folds.
The mint then takes action causing Sonny’s hips give an involuntarily jerk. He hisses at the sensation. "Exhilarating, isn't it?" you quip before guiding him into you.
“Dear God, I love you,” he says through a strangled breath as he savors the feel of burying himself to the hilt. Now you, too, can feel the minty tingle once again and it doesn’t take long for Sonny to start rocking against you.
A breath catches in your throat. "God, babe, don't stop!"
"You feel so amazing, sweetheart," he answers, failing to keep his composure.
The snapping of his hips grows in urgency, the mint sending shivers through both your cores. You can feel yourself already getting close. You reach down to rub yourself furiously, your thighs clenching and unclenching with every thrust Sonny delivers.
He bends his head to kiss you sloppily, remembering that he was supposed to be the one taking care of you. But none of that matters now. All you want is to come undone together. "Come for me, babe," you whisper against his lips.
With that, Sonny's hips surge forward and lock in place. Soft groans erupt from his lungs as he finds his release. The sensation of him throbbing inside you tips you over the edge and you come crashing down, milking him for all he's got.
Completely spent, Sonny trails breathy kisses down your chest as he attempts to climb off you. He flops down to your side, chest heaving and glistening with sweat. You roll to face him, caressing his cheek and kissing him again. His shining eyes find yours. “I love you,” he says softly.
“I love you, too, Sonny,” you reply, smiling.
“Ya think we should buy more of that stuff?” He’s smirking as he says it. He already knows your answer.
“Most definitely,” you laugh. “I gotta say, you do not disappoint.”
“Neither do you, doll.” Sonny kisses your nose, affectionately. “Neither do you.”

Separation Anxiety
Pairing: Din Djarin x reader
Word Count: 2.5k
Warnings: A little bit or angst, abandonment issues, fluff
Summary: You leave the Razor Crest for a couple days, but Grogu doesn’t understand that you’re coming back. A story through the eyes of The Child.
AN: I’m a little late posting this, I had a really bad day on Friday. But I wanted to finish this and release it as soon as possible because I feel better when I can stick to a routine. Please note that all the italics are Grogu attempting to speak out loud, but all Din and reader hear is the canon babbling and cooing we hear in the show
I wake up to the sound of Dad’s voice, he’s speaking softly in the way he only talks to me and Mama. I want to get up and play in the grass like yesterday, but sometimes our house moves when I’m asleep so I don’t know if the grass will still be there. I poke my head up out of the crib, and look around.
Dad is checking over a blaster, the smallest one that Mama carries when we go into town. I’m not allowed to touch those, Mama says they’re dangerous. Mama has her back turned, but it looks like she’s busy putting things away. She does that a lot. I wonder what she’s putting away now, I helped her put away the toys before bed yesterday.
“Mama!” I call out for her. She and father turn to me.
“Too late,” I hear Dad say. I don’t know what it is too late for, the day just started. Mama is coming towards me, and oh I just can’t help it I love it when she picks me up.
“Don’t worry darling, he woke up twice last night so his nap will come early,” you say to Din.
How could Mama possibly be thinking about nap time now? Now is time for food, and play time and probably Dad going to work.
“I’ll start breakfast,” Dad says
“Breakfast!”
Mama holds me while we eat our breakfast, but Dad doesn’t take his hat off. That probably means he’s going to work today. I know Mama will make him eat something before he goes. Mama gets upset when Dad forgets to eat. After breakfast we go outside. Our house moved while I was sleeping, but there’s different grass..... and big bugs flying around.
“Mama can I go play with the bugs?” I ask her.
“Do you want to play hide and seek ad’ika?” She asks me. Sometimes I don’t think she can hear me very well, because she answers me funny. But then again, her ears are very small.
“No. Bugs!” I yell running down the ramp to go catch the nearest floaty bug. I almost catch it too, but I jumped too late and the bug is getting away. So I chase after it.
I spend all afternoon outside but eventually, I give up on trying to catch the floaty bugs. They fly too high and always seem to know I’m coming. I’m getting tired, maybe Mama was right about a nap. I turn back to look for our house, it’s right where Dad left it with the ramp down. Mama and Dad are sitting on the ramp together, talking.
Why do grown ups talk so much? Mama and Dad like to play with me. But they don’t play by themselves or with each other, they just talk. I head over towards them, maybe they will stop talking and Mama will come nap with me.
When I get up to them, Mama immediately goes to pick me up. But she keeps talking to Dad.
“It all worked out, now we can have a family night before the trip and we’ll save some credits having you drop me off,”
“The glass is always half full, isn't it cyare,?”
Mama laughs, but I don't get it. Full of what? Is it juice? Is it juice for me?
“Mama,” I try to get her attention “Mama”
“Oh boy, looks like I was wrong about nap time, he’s gonna sleep well tonight” she says. Dad stands up, and helps Mama stand too so she doesn’t have to put me down.
Wrong about nap time? Now is a perfect time for a nap. But it’s later than I thought it was, the sun is starting to go down, and Mama is handing me to Dad so she can make dinner. Dad didn’t go to work today, I wonder why...
“Dad, are you going bye bye soon?” I ask him
“Yeah, did you have fun running around all day ya little womp rat?” He asks. Dad must not have very good hearing either. Or maybe his hat makes it hard for him to hear me.
Mama finishes making dinner, Dad closes the big door and takes off his hat so we can all eat together. After dinner, Mama scoops me up and takes me to her bed. I get excited, Mama and Dad’s bed is bigger than mine and has puffy pillows to jump on. But Mama is not in the mood for jumping, tonight she tells me she wants to snuggle and do stories.
Dad joins us. He takes off his shiny clothes and his hat, and lays down with Mama and me. Dad likes Mama stories, he puts his head on Mama’s tummy and listens to her talk. Mama holds me against her shoulder, and rubs my back. I’m trying really hard to stay awake, but I can’t. Mama’s arms are warm, and her voice is quiet. I’ll ask her how the story ended tomorrow.
The next day I wake up, and someone different is holding me. Dad’s shoulder is usually warmer than Mama’s, but not as soft. Especially since he’s wearing his shiny clothes again. Someone kisses the top of my head. That must be Mama. I’m still sleepy, so I don’t open my eyes yet. Dad rumbles below me. He must be trying to talk.
Suddenly the sound of the door opening, surely now Dad must be going to work. But if Dad is going to work, why isn’t Mama the one holding me?
I open my eyes. It’s too bright. But I can see a figure going down the ramp holding a big bag. My eyes adjust and I see that it’s Mama. Why is Mama going down the ramp so early in the morning? And our house moved again! I’m confused. If Mama is leaving the house, why aren’t we following her?
“Dad?” I try to ask. Dad makes a disappointed sound.
“Dad!” I try again
“Say bye bye ad’ika” he whispers waving my little arm
“MAMA!” I yell as I start to panic “Mama come back!” I’m getting upset. Mama never leaves. And her bag is really big. Is that what she was putting away yesterday? Why is Mama going bye bye?
“Dad!” I whine “Dad please! We have to go with her. We have to go with Mama!”
He doesn’t understand me. They never do. I’m so frustrated I can’t help it, I start crying
“Why Mama go bye bye?” I wail “MAMA!”
Dad closes the big door. I’m getting more upset. I don’t understand what happening. And Dad can’t understand me when I ask. And I just want Mama to hold me and give me kisses.
“It’s okay buddy,” Dad says “It’s okay I’m sad she went bye bye too,” Well that doesn’t make any sense. If Dad is sad she left, then we should go with her. Dad takes me up the ladder. But I don’t stop crying. He isn’t listening to me.
When he gets to the window room, Dad puts me on my chair and buckles me in. He gives me my ball, and I stop crying for a minute. I really like this ball, it’s kind of heavy and it reminds me of the training ball we used to have in the temple. Sometimes I tell Mama about what it was like growing up in the temple. About the masters that used to come visit the younglings to tell us stories or their adventures or teach us lessons. Mama smiles and looks in my eyes when I talk to her, it tricks me into thinking she understands me sometimes. But now I’m thinking of Mama again, and I begin to cry.
Dad finishes turning on the lights and hitting buttons in the right order, and our house is going up up up into the stars. Which means we are leaving Mama here. I can’t understand why this is happening. Mama tried to leave when I was asleep. She didn’t even want to say goodbye to me. I must have done something very naughty to make her leave me and Dad.
Dad turns to me and unbuckles my seat. He holds me to his chest and lets me keep crying. He doesn’t say anything. Maybe he’s crying under his hat too. He pats my back and shakes up and down me a little bit. It feels nice. He can’t understand what I ask him, but at least he understands that I’m upset.
“It’s okay buddy. We’re gonna have a fun week okay?” Dad says. I keep crying. I don’t want to have a fun week, I want Mama.
I sit with Dad all day in the window room as the stars zoom by. I stop crying but I don’t let him put me down. I can’t stop thinking. What did I do? Why did Mama leave? I don’t understand.
The days go by painfully slow. Dad puts our house in front of a big puddle, so big that everything on the other side looks small. He plays outside with me every day. Lets splash in the water, chase bugs and frogs. He lets me dig holes in the mud and bury rocks. Dad washes all of the blankets and sheets from our house in the big puddle and hands them to dry on the trees. He washes all of his clothes in the puddle too, and polishes the shiny clothes with something that looks fun to play with but smells terrible. It’s not so bad, playing with Dad all day on this puddle world. But at night time when it’s time to go to bed. I miss Mama so much my heart hurts. I try really really hard not to cry. But I can’t. I just want her to tuck me into my bed, or snuggle with me. I want her to tell me stories or sing to me.
But I’m trying. I’m trying especially hard to be good for Dad. Maybe if I’m really good Mama will come back. And I know I’m good Dad won’t leave. Dad used to take me everywhere with him when we first met. I was too scared of him to be bad. He wasn’t so scary after a while, especially after he met Mama. But I felt so safe with them. I guess I felt too safe because I messed up, and now Mama’s gone. I have to be good. I have to be good so Dad won’t leave too. I don’t want to be alone again. I don’t let Dad put me to bed in my crib. If he shuts the crib doors, they might not open again.
I wake up from a nap sitting on Dad’s lap, and I heard voices. Dad is talking to someone. I open my eyes, curious to know who’s here.
It’s Mama! It’s Mama right in front of me!
“Mama!” I shout trying to reach for her. But my claws pass straight through her. I keep trying to reach her, but she isn’t really here.
“Looks like ad’ika woke up just in time,” Dad says “Say hi to Mommy,”
“Mama! Mama I’m so sorry. Please come home. I promise I’ll be good. I promise!” I tell her
“Hi baby! I miss you so much. I’ll be home tomorrow, and I’ve got presents for you,” she says. She looks up at Dad “How’s he been?”
“He’s been having a hard time. I don’t think we explained well enough that you’d come back,” Dad says.
“To be fair, he’s never a day apart from me since the moment we met,” Mama laughs lightly
“Yeah. Well hurry home, he’s not the only one who misses you” Dad says
“A taste of your own medicine my love. But I miss you too. I’ll be at the docking bay by tonight, you’ll be there to pick me up?”
“Sounds good”
“Okay, bye baby! I’ll see you tonight,” Mama waves goodbye and the com clicks off.
I’m upset again, but I don’t cry. Mama is giving me a second chance? Or she was always planning on coming back? I don’t know, I’m so confused. All I know is I’ve been good this week, and she’s coming back. So I have to keep being good, and make it up to her when she gets back.
Dad packs up our house, and we go up up up again into the stars. We really are going to pick up Mama. But it takes so much longer to get back to where we left her. I try not to be fussy on the ride there. But everything is going so slow.
Finally finally finally, we get there and Dad puts the house exactly where it was a week ago when we left. And now we wait. Dad tries to play with me, he offers me my ball, which I take. But I just hold it. I watch the big door. Waiting for it to open. Finally, I hear it. I hear the clicking and the hiss. The door is opening and the ramp is going down.
There she is!
“MAMA!” I scream, dropping my ball and running as fast as my little legs will let me go. Mama smiles and drops her bags on the ground. She takes two big steps and scoops me up, cuddling me to her chest. Dad steps in and wraps his arms around us. He gently knocks the top of his hat into Mama’s forehead and stays there. I get a little jealous, and try to push Dad away.
“You got to talk to mom on the com for who knows how long yesterday! I want kisses!” I say trying to hold Mama’s face.
“Hi baby. Did you miss me? Did Dad take good care of you?” She asks, she presses kisses all over my head and in between my ears.
“Mama, I’m so sorry! I’m sorry I was naughty. I won’t play with your magic potion bag anymore. I’ll eat all my food and go to bed when you tell me. I’ll be good. I promise I’ll be good. Please don’t go!” I bury my face in her shoulder and start crying.
“What did you do to him, Din?” She asks Dad, she bounces me in her arms. I can’t tell if she’s making a joke or not.
“I told you cyare, he really missed you. I don’t think he knew you were coming back,” Dad says as he heads down the ramp to collect Mama’s things.
“Oh,” Mama coos at me “It’s okay. It’s okay ad’ika. It’s okay. Mommy’s here. I won’t leave you again. I was always gonna come back,” a
Dad puts her stuff away, and shuts the door. He leads us to their big bed and takes off his shiny clothes and hat again. He lays down and pulls Mama and me down on top of him.
Mama whispers to me. She tells me that she loves me. And she’s sorry I was afraid. She tells me that she missed me when she was gone, and that she’s proud of me for being good for Dad. Dad holds Mama, and tells her about all the fun things we did. Eventually I fall asleep, feeling safe and warm.
Maybe Mama and Dad don’t always understand what I’m trying to tell them. But they do love me and protect me.

Sinful Sunday!
AN: Nothing much to put here other than I am sorry I didn't do ships last night like I thought, I ended up babysitting later than I thought I would and I had to finish these two thots up. Other than that enjoy!
Sinful Sunday Masterlist
Pairings: Modern!Boba Fett x College Student!Reader, Merman!Din Djarin x Lighthouse Keeper!Reader
Modern!Boba Fett x Reader
We got another sexy Boba THOT babes, but be warned this does really highlight the older male x younger female relationship, mostly because this one is purely self indulgent. So I guess, warning older Boba and reader in college....
The first you had met Boba is when some average Chad had started annoying you at a popular bar among college students. You had tried everything to get him to leave you alone, to the point of turning your back on him, which was obviously a mistake when you felt his hand slither along your waist and attempt to grope you. But he was stopped short when he was ripped away from you by none other than Boba himself, who immediately shoved him out of the bar, before returning to you to ask if you were alright, and to tell the bartender to put your drinks on his tab, with a secretive chuckle. You didn't know it then, but Boba was the owner of the bar. And you also weren't expecting for that one time thing to turn into you taking him home a year later on spring break to meet your parents. You were nervous at how your parents would react to the age difference, but things had gone over well, and Boba quickly won over both of your parents much to your glee.
But Boba was devious, and you shouldn't have expected more. So when the two of you had down time you found yourself sitting on your bed between his legs leaning against his chest while watching a movie on your laptop, as you parents sat doing the same, just a wall away.
When you felt Boba's hands wandering, you didn't think much of it at first, but then you felt his touches increasingly become more and more sure in their paths and his lips grazing your neck and up to your ear. Giving out a small whine when he brushes over your breast and gave it a squeeze he whispers huskilu in your ear, "Lets test how quiet you can be little one. Let's see if I can make you cum without your parents catching on, hmmm? How does that sound princess?"
Whinpering quietly as Boba presses his hand against you through both you panties and sweat pants, you bucked your hips up giving him the confirmation he wanted. Boba wasted no time at all in diving his hand underneath both you underwear and sweats and going straight for the spot he knows makes you scream with his thick fingers. It took everything in you not to shout at the immediate pleasure he thrust upon you and you could do nothing to cover up the gasp you released when he dug his palm into your clit making your eyes roll back in pleasure.
"Oh little one, you better be quiet or someone is going to realize what I am doing to you," he chuckles as he kisses your neck and just continues with his absolute torturous onslaught of pleasure. Biting your lip you throw your head back onto his shoulder as your orgasm starts approaching you quickly and you whimper out his name softly before biting your lip.
Boba just shoves his spare hand up your shirt and into your bra to play with your breast as he starts to slam his fingers into that spot hard, over and over and over ond over, until you can't tell which way is up and which way is down. You grip his forearm and start bucking your hips up into his hand making your clit rub against his palm even more, and before you know it your orgasm is washing over you as Boba continues to press you through it.
When you finally come down from the height of pleasure Boba thrust you into, you found him lacking his fingers clean with a groan, saying, "Such a good girl for me princess. For being so quiet and good, tonight I will reward you with my cock."
Merman!Din Djarin x Reader
Okay, @moodsworks you did this to me with the perfect and cute Merman!Din drawing you posted because I cant stop thinking about it. (Also im tagging you because I thought you may like to read it 🥺👉👈) oh and I don't know the first thing that comes to lighthouses and upkeep so don't come for me lol....
Living in and working the lighthouse could be lonely at times, but you enjoyed the solitude and privacy that came with living at least 45 minutes from the closest town. Not that the people of said town were in anyway rude to you, infact when you first moved into your job as lighthouse keeper they had welcomed you with open arms and thanked you for filling the position. Many of the women in town had husbands that worked on boats that sailed and fished in the area and when you came to town they always made sure you had everything you needed at a very large discount that you fought everytime, but was secretly thankful for considering your pay wasn't exactly the best and mainly went towards other needs you had for the lighthouse.
You took two monthly trips to town, and both times you would leave early enough that you could go and have a warm breakfast at the small diner just on the edge of town. Every time you walked through the doors you were always met with the largest table in the building-- which honestly only sat 10 to 12 people -- full of the older couples in town having coffee and gossiping about the town. The first morning you had stumbled into the small restaurant at this early time they had invited you to join them and you had kindly accepted. They all had pitched in to pay for your food which you thanked them profusely for, and they chatted with you as you ate. They each took turns being nosey and asking questions about you, but you didn't feel the need to hide so you answered each question honestly. Then, one of the eldest women at the table turned to you and asked, "Have you heard the rumors or tales of that lighthouse, darling?"
When you only shook your head she grinned and continued, "Well, the legend here in town is that the place is haunted by sea creatures of the nefarious kind. They say that those beasts constantly sabotage and wreak havoc constantly on that lighthouse, and that they are the reason no keepers stay at that post for longer than a year."
You had only smiled and shook your head in response with a small chuckle, quickly dismissing the superstitions away. You had already been there a month and nothing odd other than thick fogs had happened.
You had been there three months by the time you started hearing the odd splashes at night, splashes that certainly didn't sound like the waves crashing on rocks. You had dismissed it again thinking it to be the migrating whales that you were told come through this time of year.
It would only be a few weeks later that your next curiosity would happen. This time you were up looking out the windows at the very top of the lighthouse watching as the sun was setting. You had just turned to leave, when out of the corner of your eye you saw a large figure jump from the water. Whipping your head around the creature had already disappeared back into the water. You waited and watched the water for a few minutes, confused and curious because whatever it had been had been too small for a whale. It was more of the size and shape of a dolphin, though longer than one? When nothing appeared again you shook your head and went down into the lighthouse just assuming the solitude was playing tricks on your mind.
By the time the next oddity started happening you had completely forgotten about the other two, and almost three months had passed. This time it sounded as if rocks were being thrown that the lighthouse at night, and hard. The next morning when you had gone to investigate you had been shocked and angered when you found softball sized rocks scattered around and the red paint chipped and ruined along the side of the lighthouse base. You had marched inside and searched for the paint in order to fix the damage and made plans to go to the town tomorrow and ask about, assuming it was just rebellious teenagers. It took all day to find and paint over the spots, while stopping for water breaks because of the heat that was beating down onto you. When you finally went to bed that night you were satisfied with your handiwork and ready to hit the hay, expecting to be up early in the morning for a trip to town. Only you were woken up later, much later, by the sound of rocks being flung at the lighthouse again. Angered, you checked the time, seeing it was 3 am, before running outside to catch the culprit red handed, only to make short eye contact with what you swore was a human head that had quickly disappeared under the water just as quickly as you had spotted it. In a daze you had walked back into the building trying to wrap your head around what you had seen. The next morning you had gone to town, and just brushed off what you had seen the night before as just a dream. You had gotten up later than you had wanted, so when you made your trip to town you had completely skipped the diner and headed straight to the farmers market that you knew was open on the town square. You had purchased a few items and stuck them in the large bag you carried, and was walking away from a stall when you ran into the elderly woman again. She had smiled and asked to walk with you and you had tiredly agreed. She had completely shocked you when she spoke up as the two of you were at a stall looking through some homemade breads.
"The incidents have started, haven't they? The odd noises and little damages around the place? I can tell by just how tired you look darling." Speechless you had only gaped at her, shocked when she looked up and smiled at you before laughing and saying, "Oh hun, you can't live as long as I have here without picking up a thing or two. And since I like you, I'll give you a small tip, leaving lobster and clams out on the rocks always seem to calm the creature down, but never leave oysters, they do NOT like those," she finished with a chuckle. The two of walked in silence to the next couple of stalls and on the last one, which coincidentally was the fish stall, the woman paid for your items with a mischievous smile when she noticed that your items included several clams and a singular lobster.
That evening you left the lobster on the large flat rock that hung over into the water, before going inside to do your chores before bed. For the first night in a couple of days, you slept completely through the night and woke up fully rested early the next morning. When you had done a survey of the water looking for anything unusual you had noticed the lobster was still there, but it was only the shell which was ripped to pieces.
After that night, you started continuously leave some kind of offering out on the rocks for whatever creature had been troubling you, and it seemed to work whatever creature had been bothering you before had seemed to be sated with your offerings.
This went on for months, and before you knew it the weather was turning colder and the that meant snow storms and more late nights watching for ships. You didn't mind it at first, and honestly it just peaked your curiosity thinking you might catch the culprit you had been leaving offerings for. But as the nights went on you found that whatever it was knew when you were watching and only came for the offerings when you left your post for quick breaks, like going to the bathroom or refilling your mug with your hot drink of the night.
Then one night you were shocked out of the slight doze you had fallen into by a shout. Panicked you stood when you heard the deep voice again and looked around to see where the sounds was coming from, and that is when you spotted a dark figure out on the flat rock holding something small in his arms. Hurriedly you rushed down the stairs and grabbed your lamp before rushing out to the rock where the figure was shouting. You still look back and wonder how you didn't slip and crack your head with how fast you ran out there, let alone how you ran out there without thinking of the dangers. But in the moment you could only register the helplessness that sounded in the deep voice that kept shouting until you came into sight. You had only taken a second to be taken aback by the man...merman? You couldn't see all of him but from the quick, and confusing, glance you took of him showed his curling wet deep brown hair and eyes and scales shimmering in a steely silver color. But you didn't focus on him long when you notice the small green shape curled in his lap, the small creature clearly injured and it broke your heart when it let out a pained whimper as it lifted its tiny head to look at you. You were broken from the tiny creatures gaze by the man speaking up, "He's injured, can you help?"
You only took a second to take in the way his eyes shined in the lamp light, before you took a step closer you watched the man tense and wrap his arm around the small injured creature defensively, so you cautiously raised a hand and said soothingly, "Please, I do want to help, but I need to get closer to get a better look him..." You waited for the man to relax a little before you took another step forward, and then another and you slowly approached him before kneeling before him and holding your hands out asking, "May I?"
Reluctantly he pulled his arms away and you reached forward. It didn't take long to find the deep gash along his tiny arm. Carefully you looked up at the man, who was staring at you closely watching your every move. Taking a deep breath you looked him in the eye said said, "I can help him, I have first aid training enough to fix injuries like this......." then you trailed off knowing he would not like what you would say next. Then you watched his eyes narrow and study you as he asked, "But?"
Gulping, you sigh and respond, "But I need to take him to the lighthouse where all my supplies are and where it is light enough that I can see what I am doing.... Also for an injury like this, I will need to watch him for at least a week, just to make sure everything heals right."
The man watched you for a few seconds, before slowly saying, "But you can help him?" When you nod in response he carefully hands the small creature to you and as you stand and go to grab your lamp, you turn to him and ask a question, only to find him struggling to pull himself onto the rock completely to, you can only assume, follow you.
"What in the world are you doing?!"
"Where ever I go he goes, and where ever he goes, I go," he grunted out as he strained and pulled his long body to follow you. Sighing in exasperation as well as concern, you blurted out, "Listen, let me go get him situated and stabilized. Then I can come by with my car so you aren't dragging yourself, and most likely injuring yourself." He was hesitant, but he agreed after glancing at the small being in your arms. So after throwing him a quick, I'll be right back, you rushed back to the lighthouse.
Once inside you gently laid the small injured creature softly on the kitchen towels that you had folded earlier and had not put away. Then you ran to grab the large red first aid box from under the bed before returning. Inside you quickly grabbed everything you needed and quickly set to work. You worked quickly and carefully, and it felt like no time before you had the wound sutured back together. Not wanting to leave what you could only assume to be a sleeping, injured infant on the counter you reached over to your sink and filled it with warm water and added sea salt, before carefully lowering the child into the water. Once you confirmed that the young creature was okay and peacefully asleep you ran to your car and drove it as close to the rock as possible, only to find the merman clenching his jaw and dragging himself along the small pathway. When you jumped out of the car you leant down to help him while chastising him.
"I told you to wait, what would you have done if you injured yourself?"
"You took too long."
Hearing the finality in his voice, and also the concern, you let it go and quietly helped pull him into the back of your car.
Once again back at the lighthouse, you told him to wait while you went and got something. When you returned you had a large blanket, which you laid on the ground and told him to lay on, because it you make it easier to pull him inside. Grunting he did as told, and while it took you awhile to pull his weight, once you were on the slick floors of the lighthouse, you were able to get him to the kitchen in no time to show him...his child?
You let them be for a second ad you put the blanket away, but as you watched the man's face calm down after seeing g with his own eyes that the young child was safe and taken care of. When he heard you reenter the kitchen he slumped to the floor and whisper, "Thank you, we had no where else to go, and you have always treated us kindly so you were the only one I could think of to help."
"It was nothing, I am glad I could help. But... what do you mean by kind to you? This is the first time we have met?"
He then looked you in the eye and said, "But you leave us food, even after he wrecked the red flakes on your home."
"Well I feel bad now, because I was only leaving a little food out there. There us no way it is enough for both of you!"
"It has always been enough for Grogu, and that is all I can ask for."
"Wait, are you hungry? I have tones of clams if you are, and from the looks of it, Grogu?" you ask hesitantly only for him to nod, "will be asleep for awhile, if you would like to eat and rest?"
He sits there for a minute before saying, "It has been a long day...."
Smiling, you go to the fridge and pull out a large bowl of clams that you sit next to him before taking a seat across from him on the floor.
" If those aren't enough, I have more in the freezer that I can thaw out for you?"
He shook his head and replied, "This is plenty, thank you."
You sat in silence as he broke open and ate his food for a few minutes before you spoke up again, "Sorry to interrupt your meal, but I know what to call your little one, but do you have a name you would like me to call you?"
You watched his Adam's apple bob as he swallowed, and then he looked you in the eye and said, "My name is Din....but I must ask you to only use it when we are alone."
Nodding you smiled and waited for him to finish eating, but once he got halfway through the bowl your brain finally caught up to the confession he had given earlier.
"Wait a second. Grogu? That small little creature? HE through those stones at my lighthouse?! How?!"

~~~~~~~
If there was one thing you liked more than sleeping with Aaron, you decided, it was waking up next to him. That was probably in part because it just didn’t happen very often. Most mornings were a frantic rush to get to work or school, and too often Aaron was up, showered, and dressed before you even got out of bed. It worked, though, and you didn’t have to worry about your respective morning routines being thrown off.
It was also the same reason the two of you kept clothes at each other’s places. One of the first times Aaron had spent the night at your apartment, he got called into the BAU early for a case and couldn’t go home to change, which meant he had spent an entire week in some tiny Montana town avoiding the questioning stares of everybody on his team, trying to figure out where he had spent the night.
Or there was the time when you decided to tease Aaron a little too much and he ended up tearing the buttons off your blouse, meaning you had to find a way to style one of his oversized button ups to wear to court. Having a drawer at each other’s places wasn’t some big declaration of feelings or taking things to the next step, it was just being smart and proactive.
And as a bonus, the efficiency of the morning routines plus already having clothes meant plenty of time for morning sex.
Aaron’s arm was draped lazily over your waist, not exactly pulling you in towards him, and keeping you at a distance. But it was comforting all the same knowing that, even in his sleep, he still wanted you. At the beginning of your fling, you had teased Aaron for being a cuddler, and he had just said it was because he liked knowing that you were safe and with him and that it grounded him. It didn’t take much longer for you to realize that Aaron Hotchner was a lot lonelier than he let on.
You could feel Aaron’s breath on the back of your neck as you stretched languidly, every muscle in your body happily sore. It would be so easy to just fall back asleep and let the morning pass both of you by. You had all weekend, and you were sure that you and Aaron would need your rest whenever you could get it. You pulled the covers closer to your frame and curled up even more, savoring the warmth of the bed and letting out a content sigh.
“If you keep stealing the covers,” came Aaron’s raspy mumble, “We’re going to have to start using two separate blankets.”
A small smile tugged on the corners of your lips as you turned around so you could face Aaron. He must have been up for a while if he was already using full sentences, which meant that he had made the somewhat conscious decision to stay in bed with you. Those stupid butterflies from the night before came back in full force. His eyes were still closed, but he had a smug smirk gracing his face as he pulled you closer to him, your legs quickly tangling with his.
Another good thing about waking up next to Aaron was that he looked downright sinful in the mornings, especially when he had just the faintest hint of stubble on his chin like he did then. The lines of his perpetually furrowed brows all but disappeared and his hair was much messier than usual, although you were more than likely the cause of that last night. You could see the faint scratches on his shoulders and bruises on his collarbone, also your doing.
You were sure you had just as many marks on your body, if not more. Aaron was patient and he knew how to read every little reaction you gave him in order to make you a whimpering mess. You probably would have been annoyed at how easily he could read you if it didn’t feel so good.
You let out a soft “humph” as you buried your face into his bare chest, breathing him in. “Maybe if you didn’t insist on making your house an icebox…”
Your words trailed off as Aaron slipped his hand that was on your back under your - his - shirt so that he could run his fingers up and down your spine. He propped his head up on his other hand, finally letting his eyes open to look at you. The sunlight filtering through the window brought out the tiny flecks of gold in his eyes.
“Wanted to make sure you stayed in bed,” he admitted, his eyes shamelessly tracing you up and down and you could feel his growing morning wood pressed against you.
You squeezed your thighs together as you traced small patterns over his bare chest with your fingertips. “By making it too cold for me to even grab a jacket?” you teased.
Aaron just shrugged, still mindlessly rubbing the bare skin of your back. “It worked, didn’t it? Besides…” His hand moved to rest on your waist, his thumb teasing the underside of your breast. “I can think of a few ways to warm up.”
You smirked and lifted your head to bring a kiss up to his neck, leaving a small bruise in its wake. “Oh?” you asked with a lifted eyebrow. “I wouldn’t mind going for round two.”
A giggle slipped past your lips as Aaron rolled over, pulling you on top of him so that you were straddling his hips. “By the end of this weekend, we’ll definitely get to round two,” he mumbled in between kisses. “Or round three..” Another kiss. “Maybe four…” Another kiss. “Five if we’re feeling especially ambitious.” His fingers hooked on the waistband of your underwear, pulling them down swiftly.
You smiled into the kisses and you let your fingers run through Aaron’s hair, your nails lightly scratching at his scalp. You could feel his erection pressing against you and you grinded down on him. Aaron rewarded you with one of his delicious moans. His hands slid up your sides and pulled off the shirt you were wearing in one fluid motion, his mouth immediately attaching to your nipple, his tongue moving in circles as his lips pulled and tugged until you cried out his name.
His hands moved back down to grip your hips, slowly rocking your hips back and forth on him. “Aaron,” you breathed out, your senses completely overwhelmed. He was sitting up now and kissing his way up to your neck, determined to leave you with as many marks as possible.
“Do you wanna cum like this?” he practically growled, his scruff brushing against your sensitive skin. “Grinding on my thigh, greedy and desperate? Was three orgasms not enough last night?”
You gripped his shoulders, moving your hips faster now, dizzy with want. “Yes, fuck ,” you moaned, pressing down with as much force as you could muster, only the thin fabric of his pajamas pants keeping you from what you wanted. Nothing would be close enough to him, but you could certainly try. Aaron lifted his thigh and his grip on your hips got tighter, already forming bruises.
Aaron watched you intently as you felt your orgasm build up, his lips parted ever so slightly. He loved to watch you fall apart, loved the power it gave him. And you loved to watch him watch you come apart, because the open-mouth smile he gave you made it look like he worshiped the ground you walked on. You were all too willing to give him a show.
You threw your head back as you panted, desperate for your release. “Please, I’m so close,” you begged, speeding up your hips even more.
He released one hand from your hips and dragged his nails up your body, leaving little pink lines in his wake, until his hand could rest comfortably on your throat. Aaron didn’t put any pressure, but you were wound so tightly that any touch would have set you off.
“Cum for me ,” Aaron demanded, and your body immediately listened
Your whole body shook as your orgasm slammed into you, but you managed to keep your eyes locked with his, giving him a primal smile, which only made his eyes darken even more with lust. Aaron took the hand on your throat and moved it up to cup your cheek, pulling you in for a kiss. It was needy and desperate, maybe even a little clumsy as you lifted off his lap just enough to finally pull his pajama pants down.
You reached your hand down to pump him lazily a few times, your thumb swiping over the tip of his cock teasingly. Part of you wanted to tease Aaron, to see if you could make him whine and beg for you to fuck him. A larger, needier part of you just wanted to ride Aaron so that you could hear more praises from him.
Aaron made that decision for you. “Do you think you’re going to ride me?” he asked condescendingly, as if to say you’re cute if you think you’re in charge.
You continued to stroke Aaron’s erection, twisting your wrist in just the right way to get Aaron to moan for you. “I will if you ask nicely,” you mused, your voice even, but even as you said it, you were already slowly sinking down on his cock, moaning at the feeling of him stretching you. You were still a little sore from last night, but it quickly turned into pleasure.
Before you could fully take all of him into you, Aaron snapped his hips up, hitting you in all the right places. You gasped out, your pussy clenching involuntarily around him.
That just made Aaron smirk and thrust up into you again. “I don’t need to ask to take what’s mine,” he hissed, but his voice was strained, like it was taking all of his energy to keep a steady tone. “And you, my dear, are mine.”
Every word was just encouragement for you to ride him faster, wanting to hear him moan some more. “I’m yours,” you agreed, burying your face in his neck.
He took one of your hands that was clinging onto his shoulder for dear life and guided it down to your clit. “Touch yourself,” he ordered, leaning back just enough so that he could get a good look at you. “I want to watch you.”
You immediately started to circle your swollen clit, and the stimulation was almost too much. Almost. But the look on Aaron’s face as he watched you work yourself over, so full of lust and want, was more than enough encouragement for you.
“Like this?” you asked innocently, and you could feel his dick throb inside you.
Aaron let your name fall from his lips, coming out as a sigh. “Fuck, that’s hot,” he groaned before capturing your lips in a kiss.
It didn’t take long for you to cum again, moaning his name into his lips as your walls fluttered around him. You didn’t dare stop kissing him, though, and you especially didn’t dare stop riding Aaron. You wanted to feel him deeper in you. Your legs were shaking and a thin sheen of sweat covered you, but you wanted him to come apart, lose control.
When he came, he held you in place and pressed his forehead against yours, wanting to watch every little reaction you made. You whimpered as he filled you, his dick twitching inside of you. You were exhausted in the best way and your skin was warm to the touch. The two of you stayed like that for a few appreciative moments, heavy breathing being the only sound in the room.
It really was easy to imagine that this was your life, to pretend that you would be able to wake up next to Aaron and have two orgasms before breakfast as much as you wanted. But reality came back all too harshly in the form of Aaron’s phone ringing. Both of you let out groans of annoyance as you pulled yourself off of him. Aaron technically had weekends off, but he was always on call, which meant no phone call could go unanswered.
“I’m sorry,” he muttered, reaching over to the nightstand to grab his cell.
You chuckled and placed a quick kiss on his lips. “So much for round two, hm?” you teased. “You answer that. I’m going to go shower.” You winced as you climbed out of bed, feeling the soreness spread across your body. You were going to get absolutely wrecked this weekend, and you honestly couldn’t wait. You looked back at Aaron as he answered the phone, and you were surprised to see him staring right at you, looking at you with a softness that nobody had ever looked at you with before. It terrified you.
~~~~~~~
Sometimes, Aaron wondered what Y/N was getting out of this… whatever this was. Companionship, maybe, but he couldn’t imagine she had any problems in that area. She was young, pretty, and charming, and he had seen her turn down a handful of numbers that were thrown her way by men much more suitable for her.
At the very beginning, he thought that maybe she was just trying to get an extra foot in the door of her career. He wondered if she was just overly ambitious and calculating, and used his lust for her to get exactly what she wanted. But that theory was tossed to the side almost as quickly as he thought about it when she had announced proudly that she was doing her project in her Torts class on a case that he had overseen at the beginning of his prosecuting career.
“The other cases were more interesting,” she had told him teasingly, “But it’s going to be so much fun to see your face when I rip your argument to shreds.”
Yeah, she didn’t need him to succeed in her career. She was going to do just fine.
So the only other reason he could think of was that she just genuinely enjoyed his company and wanted to be around him. That would certainly explain why she snuck around with him for almost an entire year, rendezvousing at unpredictable times and keeping their knowledge of each other a secret. It would also explain why she was so willing to let him back into her life as if nothing had changed. She was smart enough to know that Aaron was a changed man and that there would be a lot more baggage this time around, but none of that seemed to bother her.
Although he couldn’t quite figure out why she stuck around, he couldn’t deny that it made him happy. He liked having somebody around who genuinely wanted to spend time with him, instead of just being around because they worked together, like an obligation. Aaron liked to think that he had gotten pretty good at predicting the things she might ask for, and he was more than happy to keep giving them to her if it meant she would stick around for a while longer.
After the phone call that was entirely too long and completely unnecessary, Aaron grabbed some clothes and went to rinse off in the shower quickly. He heard Y/N get out of the shower and start to raid his kitchen minutes before, which he had already planned for. On a whim during his bi-weekly grocery store run, he grabbed a few things for when she inevitably stayed over - caramel syrup for coffee, an extra toothbrush, a pack of hair ties to keep in his bathroom, and a bag of her favorite salt-and-vinegar chips.
Once he got dressed and ready for the day, he walked out into the kitchen, where she was talking on her phone, leaning on the counter and laughing, a cup of iced coffee right next to her. “Yeah, no,” he heard her say. “I think it’s going really well and- I know. I learned my lesson about the melatonin thing.”
At the sound of his footsteps, she turned her head and smiled at Aaron, noticing his presence. She kept her eyes locked with his as she continued her phone conversation. “Hey, I have to go, but I’ll-” she paused, obviously cut off by the person on the other side of the line. A blush spread across her cheeks and she laughed again. “Oh my god, shut the fuck up. I will talk to you later. Goodbye, my love.”
Aaron watched the interaction with curiosity. Every once in awhile, he would catch glimpses of the college student version of her that he rarely saw. She always held herself with such an air of confidence and intelligence around him, and she was so quick-witted that it was easy to forget that she was still just a law student, still finding her way in the world. She seemed to carefully plan the version of herself that she would be in front of Aaron, and even more carefully hid the versions of herself that she didn’t want to be.
It had intrigued him when she was helping with the case, hearing her in a professional setting. He knew she was smart and good at what she did, but seeing it in practice was an entirely different thing.
However, the case also brought another facet of who Y/N was. Hearing her conversations with her friends, listening to her gossip and being more carefree, was different. There was a girlish quality to her that he had never really seen, and it confused him. He wanted to fuck her until she was screaming out his name, crying and begging for him. He wanted to see her smile up at him while she was on her knees. Hell, he even wanted to just lay on the couch and listen to her talk about her classes, let her tell him all about the weird guy who wears a full three-piece suit to class, and share take out with her.
But now, he also wanted to protect her, but he wasn’t quite sure from what. The reality of the profession she was going into? The many corporate men who were bound to just see her as a pretty thing? The world? Himself, maybe?
She slipped the phone into her back pocket, blissfully unaware of the thoughts swirling in Aaron’s brains. “Sorry, that was Aly, my friend,” she explained before he even had a chance to ask.
Aaron gave a soft hum of acknowledgment. “Aly... That’s the one you lived with in high school after your mom-”
“Yeah,” she cut him off firmly, signifying the end of that conversation. “That’s her. Do you have to go to work?”
Aaron could have sworn he heard the slightest bit of disappointment in her question, and it tugged at his heart, because he had heard that exact question with that exact hidden disappointment too many times.
It was unfair to compare her to Haley, and he knew that. She didn’t want to be his “New Haley” something she had made very clear two years ago. Neither of them expected this to lead to wedding bells, a white picket fence, and a dog, and they weren’t going to make major sacrifices to be with each other, especially in regards to their respective careers. The disappointment was more than likely him projecting.
That didn’t stop the twinge of guilt that threatened to consume him.
“No, I don’t,” he finally said. “Metro PD had a question about some of the files that were sent over about the case, which could and should have been handled by the agents actually working today instead of going straight to me.” Aaron had a hard time hiding the growing annoyance in his words. It wasn’t the officers’ fault they got shit training.
She shot an amused smirk Aaron’s way, bringing her coffee up to her lips. “Aw, that’s cute,” she teased. “Maybe they just wanted answers from the big boss man?”
Aaron scoffed as he made his way towards his Keurig, which was already loaded with his brew of choice and a mug readily placed, no doubt Y/N’s doing. All he needed to do was press a button. She was pretty good at anticipating his wants, too, and even better at knowing what he needed before he even knew.
“Yeah, well, arresting a group of prolific lawyers isn’t going to be anything short of a pain in the ass.”
Once his coffee was poured, he turned back to face Y/N, whose eyes were now unfocused and deep in thought. “Right, yeah,” she murmured, more to herself than to Aaron. “They’re all going to jail…”
Aaron’s eyebrows furrowed as he watched her mouth to herself. She did that when she was trying to work out a problem, like she was presenting the arguments and counter-arguments to herself. “Penny for your thoughts?” he asked.
Her eyes snapped back up to Aaron, as if she just remembered he was there. “I just- You can’t have a law firm without the partners and I just realized that I don’t have an internship anymore, which I’m going to have to try and explain to my professors because I need those credits to graduate. And I don’t have a job offer either, which means I am back at the bottom.”
“I’m sorry,” Aaron said, unable to think of anything better to say. Truth be told, he hadn’t considered the collateral damage to the rest of the employees who had no clue what was going on behind closed doors.
She shrugged, but her eyes were still distant. “Oh, it’s fine. I didn’t even want to work in the private sector long term. Prosecutors all work for the government, anyway. The private sector only has the specialized training programs, flexible hours, ability to choose your own clients, and the crazy high salaries…” She trailed off almost dreamily before taking an audible breath.
“Well…” Aaron started, choosing every word carefully. He knew that he was walking a tightrope and that his next offer could very easily come back and bite him in the ass, but it wasn’t the first time Aaron had bent the rules, and it wasn’t going to be his last. “I can’t do much in the way of a job offer, but the FBI does hire interns for our in house legal team. It’s not exactly prosecuting, but it would be closer to your career goals. You would still need to apply, but I know the head of the division and I’m sure we could expedite your application.”
Her knuckles turned white as she gripped her coffee cup so tight that Aaron was sure it was going to shatter. “I don’t need to sleep my way to an internship,” she said sharply.
Aaron nodded in agreement. “I know that, and you’re not,” he promised. “This is an offer from the BAU Unit chief as an official thank you from the FBI for your help in the investigation.” Noticing her hesitation, he decided to continue. “My reputation is on the line, too. I wouldn’t be suggesting this if I didn’t think you deserved it. You’re top of your class and the head of law review. I can show them the audio files of the work you’ve done this past week at the other internship. It’s still merit based, and you would still have to beat out other candidates, but I would ensure your application gets looked at immediately. Can you get me a copy of your transcript and resume?”
The tension from her shoulders released slightly, but she was still staring at Aaron cautiously, weighing her options. “Yes,” she whispered finally, before repeating it louder and with more confidence. “I can email them to you right now. Thank you, Aaron. Really.”
Aaron smiled down at her. “It’s no problem. The FBI would be lucky to have you. And Y/N…” he added, making a lighthearted attempt at breaking through the tension. “I have a direct line to the director. If you wanted to sleep your way to the top, I would hope you would be more ambitious to shoot for something a little more prestigious than a temporary internship.”
Y/N laughed, her entire demeanor switching back to the more playful version of herself. “So does this mean I don’t get to give you a thank you?” she asked, bringing her bottom lip in between her teeth.
Aaron raised his eyebrows and smirked, using one of his fingers to lift her chin up to him. “What did you have in mind?”
She raised herself on her toes just high enough to give him a quick peck on the lips before bouncing away from him. It would be cute if he didn’t see the smug grin that erupted across her face. “I make the best breakfast burritos you’ll ever have,” she told him matter-of-factly, throwing a cheeky smile his way.
Aaron chuckled, ignoring the way his chest tightened. “Do you make a habit of making breakfast for all the people who offer you jobs?”
She clicked her tongue as she rifled through his fridge, pulling out all the ingredients she would need. “Only the ones I really like,” she mused. “And I figure we’re both going to need the nutrition if we’re going to get to those five rounds this weekend that you promised.”
Aaron’s chest tightened even more, and for the first time since he met Y/N, he wondered if he was in way over his head.
~~~~~~~
It had become almost a tradition of sorts in the BAU, guessing why Hotch had his office door closed. It started as nervous chatter - Was somebody after them? Was Strauss making another plan to rip apart the team? - but the team realized that the more ridiculous the guess, the easier it was to wait for an actual answer. So the BAU team, minus Rossi and Hotch, all sat around their desks, only half paying attention to their work as they talked amongst themselves.
This morning, the prevailing theory was that, since Hotch got into work early, he decided to fall back asleep. His office was completely closed off to the rest of the bullpen, even going as far as shutting the blinds. They couldn’t blame him - he probably wasn’t getting much sleep at home being a single dad, and they knew that the brass gave him way more paperwork than one man should ever have to handle. Him taking a quick power nap in his offer was, in their eyes, completely deserved.
Which is why they were surprised when a familiar figure emerged from his office, shaking his hand quickly before making her way towards the glass doors, combing her fingers through her hair.
“Why was Y/N Y/L/N talking to Hotch?” Reid asked, sitting up slightly in his chair.
Garcia, who was sitting on the edge of Morgan’s desk, had a confused look on her face. “Who?” she asked, pouting only slightly. She didn’t like to be out of the loop.
Emily repeated the name back to her. “She’s the one who helped us on that hitman case, but I thought we closed that two weeks ago?”
Garcia’s confusion only increased. “If she’s talking to Hotch, does that mean it’s not closed? Why wouldn’t he tell all of us?”
Morgan shrugged, watching Y/N as she made her way across the bullpen. “I guess we’ll find out now, won’t we?” Morgan waved her over, and if she was surprised by it, she hid it well.
“Hey, Y/N,” JJ greeted, and the younger woman waved at the group. “It’s good to see you again. Is everything okay? You were in there for a while.”
Y/N nodded enthusiastically, a small blush rising onto her cheeks. “Yeah, everything’s great! That internship was required for me to be able to graduate this year, and since I helped with the investigation, the FBI was kind enough to offer me an intern position here. Unfortunately, the legal team director got swept up in meetings this morning, so Agent Hotchner went over the intake paperwork with me,” she explained, almost too casually. The words rolled off her tongue like they had been rehearsed.
“Well then, congrats and welcome to the FBI,” Emily said. “If you ever need anything, you know where to find us.”
“I am always looking for a lunch buddy,” Garcia interjected, “Especially when the rest of them are off on a case. Oh, and you should come out to drinks with us one night!”
Y/N chuckled and shoved her hands into her pockets. “Thank you, that sounds like fun. Oh, Dr. Reid, maybe I can take you up on that offer of a tour?” Spencer nodded, a little shocked that she had remembered that conversation. “Well, I should head down to the 3rd floor. Don’t want to be late on my first day. I’ll see you all around though.”
The team watched Y/N walk out the glass doors to the elevator, and as soon as she was out of earshot, the girls erupted in a fit of giggles.
Morgan and Reid shared a look of confusion. “Okay, Babygirl,” Morgan groaned. “What was that about? Inviting her out with us? You just met her.”
That only served to make Garcia laugh harder. “Some profiler you are,” she teased, before turning her attention back to Emily and JJ. “Okay, don’t worry, I will not do any sort of unethical digging, just normal social media snooping. I promise.” With that, Garcia made her way quickly back to her Bat Cave, an extra pep in her step.
Morgan shot the remaining two girls a questioning look. “Why is she snooping on some random intern?” he pressed.
Emily chuckled in disbelief. “Seriously? You couldn’t see it?”
“See what?” Morgan asked, frustration evident in his voice.
JJ looked back up at Hotch’s office, a knowing smile on her face. “Because that random intern, who, remember, spent an entire interrogation flirting with Hotch, just left his office with smudged lipstick and a missing button on her shirt.”
Recognition flashed in Morgan’s eyes as he chuckled to himself, tapping his fingers on his desk. “Huh. Who knew Hotch still had it in him? My man, good for him.”
Reid looked at the rest of the profilers, his eyebrows scrunched together. “Wait, what happened?” he asked, still unable to put the pieces together. “Did I miss something?”
Morgan smirked and ruffled Reid’s hair. “We’ll explain it later, Pretty Boy. I promise.”
The End - Ch. 1
Happy Holiday Truce, @mystyrust! Sorry to make you wait - I wanted to do something big, but I forgot to take into account two things: I am a slow writer, and this story became too big to handle as a oneshot. I do have big ideas for where I want this story to go, but we'll see how the story builds itself as I write! Happy Holidays!
If elements of this story seem familiar, that’s because they are! This is based on @lexosaurus‘s tags on @dannys-phucking-dead‘s post! I hope you enjoy!
"Listen. I've met a lot of great asteroids. Really fantastic asteroids. And they've all told me themselves — they said that I was a great president. All of them said that — all one hundred thousand asteroids. I was there."
The camera switches to Tiffany Snow, sitting at the anchor desk.
"This is what President Drumpf had to say yesterday regarding NASA's claims that an unforeseen asteroid is approximately 21 days from hitting the Earth, creating an extinction-level event on par with what took out the dinosaurs," Snow states with a cheerful smile. "Polls suggest that approximately 48.2% of the population believe NASA's claims to be a hoax; 29.5% believe it's the end of the world; and 22.3% is undecided. Lance, can you tell us a bit about Amity Park's response to NASA's claims?"
The camera switches to a street view outside of Amity Park's capitol building. People crowd the streets, many of them yelling and holding signs. Some signs read "THE END IS NIGH". Others say "ASTEROID SHMASTEROID". A few say "DEFUND NASA". One sign says "[citation needed]".
"Certainly, Tiffany," Lance Thunder replies, nearly shouting over the crowd. "As you can see here, tensions are high in Amity Park. Citizens gather to make their voices heard amidst NASA's claims of doom and gloom. Hey, Bob, what do you think of NASA's statement?"
Thunder turns to a middle aged man beside him wearing a bright red cap. The man bends to put his face by the microphone Thunder is brandishing.
"It's fake news, is what it is! I mean, come on! How does a freaking asteroid come out of nowhere? It's a China conspiracy, I tell you!"
Bob nods, and Thunder takes back the microphone. "Well, you heard it here, folks. Amity Park's citizens think NASA's claims are a ho—"
"THE END IS NIGH!"
A woman wearing a sign with the same message butts in, snatching the microphone from Thunder.
"The Disasteroid cometh for us all! Soon it will be Judgement Day and all of you Non Believers will be found Wanting!"
Thunder squawks. "Hey! That is APN property! Give that back!"
The camera turns to focus on Thunder and the woman as they fight over the microphone, their squabbling barely audible over the feedback. Then the feed cuts back to Tiffany Snow.
"Wow Lance, looks like no one can break Amity Park's spirit," Snow says with a grin. "In other news, Congress has voted to defund NASA—"
The TV clicks off.
Danny carefully puts down the remote before he allows himself to shake. His fists clench, and he hides them under folded arms, lest they be seen bursting into ectoplasmic flame. His face feels taut, teeth clenched, eyes abnormally dry. Toxic green edges his vision, and he clamps his eyes shut, lest they be seen glowing green with his anger.
And oh, he is angry.
NASA is a world leader in space aviation and exploration, and Congress is defunding them. And for what? Because they told the truth? Because there's a humongous asteroid about to hit the Earth? They should be funneling emergency money towards NASA, not taking money away! The world needs NASA, now more than ever! Danny has seen the images NASA shared — the images the media doesn't dare share, lest the wrath of one President Drumpf befall them. He doesn't know how everyone missed it — it's huge and it's glowing green and no stars glow green like that — but now that everyone knows about it, there should be some sort of plan to stop it, right? Wrong! The president says it's fake news, and Congress follows suit, and the biggest space programs in the world can't agree on what to do about it when half the world doesn't even think it's real and oh god we're gonna die like actually 100% die and it's not ghosts it's not Pariah Dark it's a big fucking SPACE ROCK that's going to do us in for good and there'll be no more habitable Earth and no more Ghost Zone and we're all going to DIE—
A hand touches Danny's knee, and he gasps, eyes flying open, cringing away from the contact.
Through the green haze in his vision he sees bright orange and immediately shuts his eyes again. They can't see, can't see him freak out, can't see his powers freak out with him—
The hand touches his knee again, and he freezes at the touch, body tense, teeth clenched, eyes shut tight. Another hand touches his arm and he takes in a breath, shuddering as the hand slowly moves to his shoulder, and then to his back, rubbing large, soothing circles. Danny tries to time his breathing to the circles, like Jazz had taught him to, and slowly the blood rushing in his ears (when had that happened?) quiets to a dull roar.
"There we go Danny, see, just breathe. You're okay. You're at home, and Mom and Dad are out, and you don't have to hide."
Danny uncurls slightly at the sound of his sister's voice. He opens his eyes a crack — just enough to see past the green haze — and really looks this time. The orange isn't the same shade as his dad's jumpsuit — it's a lighter, more natural color, and it surrounds a face with concerned, green eyes. Jazz. Jazz is here, and she has her hand on his knee, and she's rubbing circles into his back, and he's kind of sort of getting the hang of breathing with the rhythm of those circles. He leans into her, and she bundles him into a hug, still rubbing circles into his back.
The front door opens, and Danny and Jazz both freeze. Jazz said Mom and Dad are out, but what if they're back? They can't see him like this, they'll find out!
Danny has half a mind to just turn invisible when their voices hit his ears.
"Man, dude, did you see what Congress did to NASA? That's so unfair!"
"It's totally unfair! They're just telling the truth! This whole administration is the absolute worst!"
Tucker. Sam. Danny relaxes slightly at their voices, but he doesn't turn around — doesn't want them to see him like this, either.
But it's too late.
"Woah, dude, you okay?"
"Danny!"
He hears them rush over to him — feels their worry and the warmth of their bodies as they get close — and tenses up again. He should be better than this, stronger than this! He shouldn't be freaking out about some dumb news report.
Not just a dumb news report, his brain helpfully supplies. We're all going to die. And there's nothing you can do about it.
All of a sudden, Jazz's embrace feels too tight. To constraining. Trapping him where he is.
He slips intangible and flees from Jazz, flees from his friends — flees upwards, up through the ceiling and through the roof and through the Ops Center, flees until there's no more house to flee from. He lands hard on the roof of the Ops Center, scraping his knees but it doesn't matter, hands scorching the metal but who cares, it's just the end of the world—
He pulls his knees to his chest and buries his head in them, his face screwing as he tries to get a hold of himself, tries to rein himself in, it's just the end of the world, just the end of Mom and Dad and Jazz and Sam and Tucker and school and movies and parks and people and everything and everyone he'd ever tried to protect—
"Bite this."
Danny feels something cool touch his lips, and he bites down — then coughs and spits as bitter rind and sour citrus burst in his mouth.
He looks up to see Tucker triumphantly brandishing a whole lemon with a chunk bitten out of it. Sam and Jazz stand to either side of him, varying levels of worry and amusement fighting for dominance in their faces. Danny spits again, and stares at the bits of rind and lemon pulp that vacate his mouth.
"What the hell?"
"Told you it'd work!" Tucker crows.
"A lemon?" Danny splutters.
"It's an... unorthodox grounding technique," Jazz responds, "and it normally isn't administered like that—"
"Point is, it works," Sam interjects. "How're you feeling?"
Danny stares at the three of them for a moment. Then he sighs and chuckles darkly. "The worlds going to end because too many people don't believe NASA about an asteroid hurtling towards Earth, and Tucker made me bite into a lemon. How am I supposed to feel?"
He sighs again, long, hard, and shuddering, and he lets himself fall backwards onto the warm metal of the Ops Center roof. Jazz lies down across from him, and Sam and Tucker lie to either side of him, all their heads nearly touching. The sky above them is bright blue, clear of clouds. Birds flit across Danny's vision, twittering as they chase each other before flying off to who knows where. Does it even matter? They'll all be dead in a few weeks.
"I don't want to die again."
The words slip from his mouth, and he feels his breath hitch, watches as his vision goes blurry. His hands begin to clench into fists — but then Sam and Tucker take his hands, massaging the tension from his fingers and palms, and Jazz runs her hand through his hair like she used to do when they were kids and he'd had a nightmare, and something in him breaks.
A sob wrenches itself from his throat, and he curls in on himself. His sister and friends move to hold him close, and he can't help but lean into their touch. They hold him as his eyes glow green, as his hands fist into the metal of the roof, as his sobs take on a ghostly tinge, nearly wailing his grief and his anger and his fear into the sky. He shudders as he cries, and feels as they shudder with him — feels as Sam and Tucker push their faces into his shirt, and as Jazz buries her face in his hair — feels as his shirt and his head where their faces lie become damp.
Crying. They're crying.
And it's his fault.
A wave of guilt washes over him, and he wants to pull away again, wants to force himself to stop crying, to be strong for them. But their grips on him tighten, and they speak to him, words warped by their own tears. "Just let it out," Tucker mutters into his back. "It's okay to cry," Sam whispers into his shoulder. "You don't have to hide," Jazz repeats into his hair.
But beneath their words, beneath their tight hold on him and the way they push their faces against him is a hidden plea: "Stay," they say.
Please stay.
So Danny stays.
Danny stays, and they cry together, and the sun shines down upon them from the clear blue sky.
*~*~*
Danny doesn't know how long it's been. Only that he's no longer crying, and that his friends and sister are no longer crying. They've melted into a cuddle pile of four, with Danny at the center, and the sun beats down on them from a different angle than before. Danny has wound up with his head in Jazz's lap, and she's playing with his hair. Sam and Tucker are on top of him, still holding his hands. Their weight is comforting.
Danny is exhausted. He just wants to fall asleep and deal with everything later. Crying in front of your friends and sister will do that, his brain helpfully supplies. So will the end of the world.
He sighs heavily and moves to sit up. Sam and Tucker get off him, still holding his hands, and Jazz helps him up, moving from playing with his hair to rubbing circles on his back. He smiles faintly at all of them.
"Thanks, guys," he whispers hoarsely. He really does have the best friends and best sister in the world.
Too bad they're all going to die in three weeks.
He frowns and sighs again, too tired to cry.
"It's heavy stuff, huh," Jazz says gently. Danny looks back at her, an eyebrow raised. She continues. "The thought of everything ending like that — it's really hard to think about. Hell, I'm having trouble processing it." She smiles gently at him. "It's okay to be scared and angry, and it's okay to be scared and angry in front of us. You don't have to hide."
"Okay, okay, I get it," Danny mutters. "No more running away."
"Good," Sam remarks. "Now, what are we going to do about everything?"
"What do you mean?" Danny asks.
"You know. The asteroid?" Sam raises an eyebrow.
"Oh yeah. That." Danny frowns down at the roof of the Ops Center. The metal is warped and singed where his hands had dug into it. "What are we supposed to do about that?" He looks back up at Sam. Her eyes bear into his, and her grip on his hand tightens.
"Look, I know this is hard for you. It's hard for me, too. But we can't just sit here and do nothing."
Danny frowns at her. He opens his mouth to respond, but Tucker gets there first.
"Look, I know we need to have this conversation, I really do. But can we have it inside? The metal's starting to get really hot." Tucker stands up, rubbing his free hand on his jeans from touching the roof.
Danny sighs and stands up, stretching the kinks from his back. Sam and Jazz stand up with him.
"On it," Danny says. "Everyone hold tight."
He feels Sam's and Tucker's grips tighten on his hands, and he feels Jazz grab his shoulder. With a poke at his core, he tugs them all intangible, slipping through the roof to the refreshingly cool interior of the Ops Center. He lets go of intangibility and lets gravity embrace them slowly, gently depositing them all on the floor of the Ops Center. Then he lets go of his friends' hands and steps forwards, turning so he's facing the three of them.
"So, what are we supposed to do, huh? Half the world thinks the asteroid's a hoax, and the other half either doesn't have the money to do anything, or is stuck in petty arguments about what to do and who's to blame and all that shit." Danny crosses his arms and frowns.
"Dude, you're the Ghost King," Tucker's quick to reply. "Doesn't that mean you can, like, do anything?"
Danny facepalms. "Oh my god, Tucker, I'm not the Ghost King. I told the Observants I don't want any part of it. And besides, even if I were, who's going to listen to me? Klemper? The Box Ghost? I'm sure they can convince the world to get its shit together!"
"Hey!" Sam interjects. "You can't just focus on what we can't do. We need to focus on what we can do, as a team."
"Oh, and what can we do, Sam? We're way out of our depth here! The four of us can't stop the asteroid from hitting Earth!"
"You're right, Danny," Jazz says. Sam and Tucker gape at her.
"But dude—"
"You can't just—"
"Hey, let me speak!" Jazz waits until Sam and Tucker close their mouths — Tucker with a perplexed look on his face, Sam with an expectant frown.
"We are out of our depth," Jazz states. "We don't have the resources or political pull here on Earth or in the Ghost Zone to make a significant difference." She pauses. "But we know someone who does."
It takes a moment, but Sam gets it first.
"Oh, ew, we are not asking him for help!"
"Wait." Tucker says. "Asking who for—" horror dawns on his face. "Oh, no. No no no. We can't! Why would you even think of that?"
"Think of what?" Danny asks, a little annoyed that he doesn't get it.
"Asking Vlad," Sam, Tucker, and Jazz reply.
"Oh, ew!" Danny says automatically.
Jazz rolls her eyes. "It's not like I want to talk to him either! I just think given the circumstances, we don't have much choice."
"There's always a choice, Jazz," Sam retorts. "He'll probably try and force Danny to stay with him in exchange for his help."
"Yeah, Jazz," Tucker adds. "He's a slimeball. Who knows how he'll try to play this to his advantage."
"But—"
"I think Jazz is right," Danny says.
Sam, Tucker, and Jazz stare at Danny, flabbergasted. Danny blushes.
"Well, it's like Jazz said — I don't want to, but I don't think we have a choice. We need his help. And besides," he says with a smirk, "the man is way too narcissistic. He doesn't want to die because half the world doesn't believe what's right in front of their faces."
"And we can use that to our advantage," Jazz adds. "He knows he'll need help with whatever scheme he's plotting, and there isn't enough time for him to be picky."
"So, what? We go to him for help, and threaten to walk if he tries to pull anything?" Sam raises an eyebrow.
"Exactly." Jazz and Danny grin at each other.
Tucker sighs and pulls out his PDA. "Alright, fine. One meeting with one seriously messed up frootloop coming right up."
Danny stares. "Dude, what are you doing?"
Tucker looks up. "Um, scheduling a meeting with our evil mayor?"
Sam shakes her head. "He's probably booked. We'll have better luck if we just show up."
Jazz nods. "He's probably expecting us anyways."
Tucker sighs and puts away his PDA. "Alright, fine. But can we take a moment to clean up? I don't know about you guys, but my face is crusty."
Danny looks at his friends and sister. Their hair is a mess, and their eyes are still rimmed red. Sam's mascara has dried after running down her face, and Tucker's glasses and Jazz's headband are askew. Danny figures he doesn't look much better.
He nods. "Alright. But after that, we have a meeting with one seriously messed up frootloop!"
This is my first, tentative post, it's borderline smut with Roger Taylor. I've only ever edited and brainstormed with the amazing writer @a-bisexual-phantom
So I guess tension as a warning?? Mild cliffhanger as I can't write the actual act for the life of me?? I tried to be accurate!!
You were so excited for the opportunity to intern with Queen, not only was it a huge learning experience but you had the feeling that you were watching history go down. Some aspects of your job included anything and everything anybody else needed, paperwork, snacks, occasionally breaking up fights between band members when the manager wasn't able to.
You loved the little farm house that the band would be recording their album at. You really hoped the quiet countryside would provide maximum song-writing atmosphere for everyone. Once everyone got settled into their bedrooms, yours being the closest to the bathroom probably due to the fact that you were the only female, you decided to explore a little bit as this may be your only chance before being buried in paperwork.
After looking through the studio, you began exploring outside and you discovered a few worn paths that went who knows where. Naturally you picked one and immediately started walking down it. You weren't scared of getting lost or running into any murderers. Along the first trail, the plants were growing together overhead, creating a tunnel of green that the last of the sun shone through.
You made your way back and decided to grab a torch so you could continue your adventure into the night hours and then departed to the second trail of the trip. As you walked you dragged your feel, shuffling through the leaves, smiling to yourself at the noise you created. Your smile grew, splitting across your face as you came to the end of the trail, as you took in the sight before you.
It was a gorgeous lake, "perfect", you thought to yourself "for relaxing".
The fact that you had no swimwear was a trivial thought, and easily fixed since you were most likely to be the lake's only occupant.
You walked back to the house around three a.m. water droplets clinging to your hair. The door didn't creak, but as you crept down the hall towards your door the floor squeaked with every step you took. Though you thought you were in the clear as you entered your room, you failed to notice a door open and a shaggy blond head poke out to see who was squeaking in so late.
With three and a half hours of sleep under your belt you started making a huge breakfast for everyone at about 6:30 a.m. As the smoke from the grease filled pans hissed up, the aromas of bacon, eggs, and much needed coffee coaxed everyone out of their rooms. Everyone filtered in, sitting down sleepily, looking like rock and roll zombies. You set plates out for everybody to dish themselves up, Roger grabbed the last two plates, setting them down to dish up next to you on the counter and put his other hand on the other side of you.
"Someone had some late night adventures last night", Roger whispered in your ear, his raspy voice laced with sleep.
You turned to face him intending to ask why he had been up at that hour too when you realised since the whole band was still in their pyjamas you came face to chest with the shirtless drummer. With the toned arms of Roger Taylor on either side of you, you put on your best professional, no nonsense face about half a foot away from his. You couldn't put much more distance between you and him due to the kitchen counter and he seemed to know that as he smirked, leaning forward slightly with his whole body.
"Mr. Taylor, that's quite enough", you said in a soft stern voice.
"Oh you two are adorable." Freddie said at the same time Deaky started complaining about Roger not being able to go five minutes without blatantly flirting with the band's intern.
"Roger, please leave Miss L/N be, as she is here to help Miami help us with our career." Brian said without looking up from his songbook and coffee.
Roger sighed at Queen's comments, then looking at you, drawled, "it doesn't seem as though Y/N wants me to move..."
His eyes widen as you suddenly put your hands on his bare shoulders and use him to hop up on the counter in front of him, lift your legs over his arm, back onto the floor and walked off with your plate, saying since his ego was so big and heavy you moved so he wouldn't have to strain himself. Freddie barked out a laugh, congratulating you on rendering Roger speechless.
"It's not often he doesn't know what to do with his mouth." You chuckled.
"Especially when a beautiful girl is involved," Freddie said, causing the drummer to blush as he continued gawking like a goldfish.
It had been a few weeks of stress filled song writing and you were attempting to enjoy a shower when you heard thumps coming from outside the bathroom. You ignored the commotion and finished your shower, toweling off only to realise you hadn't brought clean clothes to change into.
You wrapped your towel around your body securely and cracked the door to peek out and seeing that the coast was clear you calmly walked towards your open door. As soon as you went to close the door, hands grabbed your waist and pulled you behind the door, against the wall, your hands pushing at the possible kidnapper.
You let out a yelp only to be silenced by a hand over your mouth as a body pushed up against you HARD. Roger opened the door back up until it was touching his back and put a finger to his lips, touching both of your noses as he did so. Freddie thundered down the hallway and tiptoed into your room brushing by the door as he entered. Roger pulled your leg up around him and leaned all the way into you to give the door an inch to swing inward as Freddie walked back out of your room, having unsuccessfully found anyone.
"We're playing hide and seek, Love" Roger breathed in your ear as he let his hand slide down from your mouth to lightly rest on your throat, smirking at your current attire.
"Well, Mr. Taylor, you should have said so." You said as you decided to get him back for his 'unprofessionality' as Brian referred to it. "FREDDIE! ROGER'S IN--" Roger cut you off with his hand, cursing as Fred's footsteps pounded back into your room.
"Oi, Roger! Put her down" Freddie yelled at the drummer who realized you were still flush around him in his hiding spot. He glared at you as he let you push him off you this time and slipped over to your dresser. Freddie shoved Roger out of the room for you to change, thanking you for your service in the game.
As the door clicked shut you let the façade of professional indifference fall as your face blushed red hot at the situation and proximity you had just come out of. Deciding that taking another shower would be doing too much, you changed into shorts and a tank top and took a dry towel to head to the lake. You poked your head out to see that it was Roger free, strode down the hallway and headed down the stairs, listening all the while for band members.
You stopped by the kitchen for a coffee and ran into Freddy when you opened the lower cupboard to grab a lid to take your coffee with you. Managing not to react too wildly you grinned at him and asked if Roger was seeking now. Freddie nodded and Mr. Taylor came in from counting outside to find you putting the lid on your coffee thermos having closed Freddy's hiding spot back up.
"Well if it isn't my newly declared hide and seek enemy," Roger greeted you with fake hurt puppy eyes.
"All is fair in love and war Mr. Taylor" you said, sipping your coffee you grimimced then turned around to grab some sugar to add to the bitter bean water, knowing exactly what held the drummer's gaze now that you were facing away from him.
"Maybe," Roger said slowly, stalking towards you, "you and I could help each other….you know in the game" his pause implying the other game he was playing, with only you.
He continued walking slowly toward you as you continued slowly walking backwards until your back hit the counter and he smirked. You set your coffee down and jumped up to sit on the counter, crossing your legs and picking your coffee back up.
Roger stopped at the counter you were seated on, placing his hands on the counter right up against your leg and under the crossed one.
"Perhaps you should make it up to me, losing me the game I mean" his thumbs coming up to rub your legs.
"What if I tell you where Freddy is currently hiding at this moment?" You asked, fighting a shiver from his rubbing.
"Mmm I had something else in mind but I suppose that will do for now." His hands came up to rest on your still crossed legs, making it abundantly clear to you what else he had had in mind.
"Mr. Taylor it is a bit unprofessional to put your hands on a working intern as you have today-"
"Are you saying this?" He gestured with his head, "professionally does nothing for you?" He grinned cockily.
"What I'm saying is that A. I'm not a groupie, I'm here to work in a field I enjoy, B. I'm not one of your countless harlots, C. You're just horny because you've been here a few weeks and I'm the only female in a hundred miles and D." You leaned in close to his ear as Freddy silently closed his cupboard door and tiptoed to a different hiding spot, "you are a terrible seeker" you leaned back to sip your coffee.
"Well I convinced you to tell me where Freddy is, so I can't be that bad, speaking of which Love, you have yet to actually tell me where he's hiding, unless you want me to...continue convincing..."
"The cupboard, behind you."
Roger opened the cupboards behind him to find nothing.
Turning back to you, his face like that of a predator, stalking his prey; his eyes looking straight through your bones to your core. Uncrossing your legs to get down, Roger walked back up to you in one long stride, leaning right up against the counter, pushing your legs apart with his hips as he did so, causing you to fall back, catching yourself on one hand. Caught off guard you set your coffee down perhaps harder than you meant to and put your other hand on his warm chest to prevent him from getting closer than he already was.
"You lied"
"I said I could tell you where he was at that exact moment, he moved since then, while you were...preoccupied."
Placing his hands on your hips his eyes bore into you, "well then I suppose you still owe me for costing me my title at world champion hider. Do you have a preference as to when I should collect?"
Roger smirked as though you were trapped when really you knew all you had to do was say 'no' and he would back down immediately….though you never would.
"Mr. Taylor, I wonder if you could perhaps be more specific as to what sort of debt I am owing you, then I could be more helpful-"
Roger Taylor's soft lips cut you off, sampling the coffee in your mouth and you sighed into the kiss.
"Sorry Love, couldn't play our game much longer with you looking so fucking delicious," Roger pulled away to gauge the situation, wanting to make certain he wasn't crowding you.
"Oh-ho no, you don't get to do that and just walk away mister! Get back in here!" You ordered him, snapping him back to you with your legs.
"Yes Ma'am," Roger saluted, clearly bemused by your little show of dominance. He slid his hands under you and turned to leave the kitchen.
"And just where are we headed now?" You inquired, tying your legs around him, doing your best to hide your smile at his cockiness.
"Ahh well, I just thought- I mean I..maybe," confidence gone he stuttered "we were-umm going for a swim?" His eyes fell on your towel.
"Good answer, now let's go 'swim' before the rest of Queen realizes you're not actively seeking them."
His smile returned a bit shy as he stopped and fell into your eyes before the words "so fucking gorgeous" whispered from under his breath causing your cheeks to heat up.
