mustard on the beat, ho- MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAARD Someone make it stop, make it fucking stop. I spent all week hyping myself up to gather up all my work sketches like a scrapbook and clean it all up to post here, and then Kendrick had to surprise drop on a Friday morning and ruin my work day and my headspace all weekend long.

Anyway, here's a dangerous dreams sketch dump.

It's been a long quiet, but RL had taken such a fucking toll that I had a real hard time finding the fucks to get creative. Who knows how much this past US presidential election will fuck up the entire rest of my life, but I'll take solace in finding community and in the little things and in Andor Season 2 and in the telling of The Stars.

Now that I got this out of the way, guess it's time to go fucking write some fucking words.

there's 'Doomed By The Narrative' as in it serves their character arcs and the overall plot (Malistaire, Morganthe) and then there's 'Doomed By The Narrative' as in the narrative fucking hates them (Duncan Grimwater)

#malistaire deserved to be redeemed also but anyway. wizard101 hates duncan's guts #the updated prologue gives him a lot more character other than 'bratty kid that everyone else despises' which is a good thing!#but then his later appearances more correlate with his putdated prologue appearance so it just appears wonky and sad to the audience #so now even though duncan is highlighted to be more sympathetic and three-dimensional in the prologue-#his later appearances are still treated as a sad joke and the characters still hate him! the tonal whiplash is staggering!#like i dont expect kingsisle to go back and redo duncan's whole arc dgmw. i just wish they handled him better LMAO #imagine you're a struggling child but then the entire universe looks at you and goes “yeah you kinda suck”. duncancore #wizard101 #wiz101 #w101 #text posts #duncan grimwater #to make myself laugh i call him dungran gruncanwuncan #anyone remember duncan gruncanwuncan

It's hard being someone who does genuinely get infuriated with Ford's actions and acknowledges a lot of his flaws and the people he hurt, while also liking (and relating) to his character enough that I would like him to have nice things sometimes and don't believe he's satan

#hes not my favorite guy #but i keep having to defend him because every time people talk about him its like “YEAH HES A SHITBAG WHO WANTS TO WATCH HIS BROTHER DIE”#“HED PROBABLY LAUGH IN HIS FACE WHILE HE GETS MAULED BY TIGERS”#when i was reading the fanfic O Brother I too thought he was being overly cruel to poor Stanley (in a way that made sense not an ooc way)#but then he like found out the deity that was his entire life was lying to him and that he hurt people #and that he no longer can SLEEP because hell hurt people again #and he has to figure out the impossible answer of what to do while everyone is upset and untrusting of him #and his best and only friend barely can LOOK at him #and all the comments are like “YEAH THIS IS WHAT HE DESERVES!!! he and the gungans represent the people. full stop. all of them. especially jar jar, he's annoying, he's a troublemaker, he lacks 'common sense'. saving jar jar does the OPPOSITE of rallying the gungans to the colonist naboo people's cause, padmé has to make her own plea. he's worthless. qui gon very specifically doesn't save him because there's anything special about him, he saves him because he's alive and in a position to stop him from dying. that's all. but jar jar is still the reason the day is saved, because he is the people, the people are him.

you have to save people you dont like. people you don't agree with. people you think are worthless. because they are alive, and you are in a position to stop them from dying. that's all.

that's what luke is.

So I hit my 700th edit for the WHA wiki today, because I am a totally normal person

#For the record I have been there for. 27 days.#That makes an average of 26 edits a day which is even more terrifying because I definitely was not updating every day #Also this is for the Telepedia Wiki not the Fandom one #Anyway you should check it out!#In maybe a week because the website cache is super slow for some reason when you're not logged in #But I'm having fun #The nice thing about working on a wiki where there's actually other people doing stuff #Is that they can do the boring stuff like character bios and etc while I run around doing the fun stuff like pages on animals and plants #Anyway I was working on the Eldroxen page which are the big fluffy ox from the Silver Eve Procession #And it was so funny collecting info on them from the main series and then checking Kitchen real quick and SURPRISE! THEY'RE EATING IT!#I mean I should have expected this after having watched Dungeon Meshi and yet~~~#Also funny was that I copy+pasted the page coding for one the (food) animals as a template for this giant Mole-worm beast page but #forgot to remove the line about it being for food and afterwards had a laugh and then removed it #But now I'm like. They probably WOULD eat that sucker. Giant mole worm/snake/dragon thing? That'd feed a whole town!#Qifrey could have an entire audience watching how he'd prepare and season it #Anyway if you've been wondering where I've been that's it #Also funny story: during the Covid pandemic I stayed employed when my coworkers got let go because they needed me to catalogue an entire #new set of guided reading books; and have these sets have a digital checkout instead of the old-school card catalog we were literally still #using in 2020. Anyway I went all out with the organization of the books and the boxes and even made a reference binder for the books #via subject so teachers/tutors could find specific subjects and reading levels etc #(I'd have done a digital way to search for results but honestly half the teachers couldn't figure out how to sign in to the laptop. So.)#Anyway. Only a handful of teachers actually used these books and two years later the school switched to a new reading program #that came with its own set of books and lessons so this 10k reading set was essentially unneeded (and my dear coworkers never got rehired)#Anyway I learned last week that they're clearing out that room and all of those barely-used books are getting thrown out 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃#Isn't that funny #Literally everything is just sandcastles built in the surf #I'm so glad I already accepted this during my pumpkin carving years because otherwise I think I'd be upset #Anyway I'm gonna go play my spooky fishing game

just got home from watching tasm 2 in a theater for the first time in my life and everything is hitting me in layers

#i have an inside joke with that spider-man and he remembered it and MADE it the inside joke #the crowd laughed the most when peter said ‘god save the queen’ which was so random but go off i guess #the kendrick/drake debates in the hallway after the end credits #the last line in the movie being ‘there’s no place like home’ and andrew’s spidey getting shelved until No Way Home #the way that movie literally has at least eight different genres in it #that spider-man gave me a double high-five because he wanted to #i’ve met andrew garfield #what the fuck #how this entire movie is about time and the passing of it #how andrew’s spidey’s never been a natural all he does is try try try #gone gone gone #‘do i have to lose you too?????’#how this entire film runs purely on hope #i could go on forever but i’m tired of writing tags #that was a canon event for me #seeing that on a big screen with a full audience was a canon event #and i might never recover #i love you andrew garfield #thank you for your service #the end
