I've truly hit rock bottom.

The major complaint with all our delusional takes regarding Tech's survival is that we are taking them out of our asses, but in this case, it is quite literally outta someone's ass.

Look, I don't wanna dunk on my main man, but Tech's got no booty. He is as flat as an airport landing strip in the Netherlands. I don't know what voodoo dark magic Nala Se did to strip Tech of the standard issue clone tushy, because our next possible candidate for Clone CX-2 is Cody, and dude is packin'.

Now, fortunately for us the creatives put Clone CX-2 in a leotard from the waist down, so we got an unobstructed view of the clone's behind and I gotta say, it's some pretty convincing evidence right here that CX-2 is Tech.

Also, I made this account three years ago and have never changed the profile picture before, but today I did cause delusion is swallowing me whole.

WiP - Clown Allen, Wig styling, final make up test before the con

Here we go again, I know I have posted the final make up test/the HQ photos a while ago, roughly a month before the con.

But as you might know this blog runs on queue and it takes a while until i post everything else and I like to have a variety posted.

I procrastinated on working on the wig with all I got. As I never worked with a frontlace wig.

In the end it wasn't as bad as I thought. But I was nervous regarding the make up as well as the first was super rough... I got some new body paint colors as I wasn't satisfied how brittle the clown paint was.

So after cutting off the edge of the lace it was about time ...

This is again still a bit rough, I have to cover the neck more and tweak a few things here and there. But damn I am glad I got new make up at least for the face itself. For the lashes I might go back to the other paint. Also I got a different brush for eyeliner and it's such an upgrade.

1. What was the first part of your wip that you created?

probably the concept of a god of the forest saving a villager from the wild hunt. i didnt have loifa or rowan created, mind, just the vague idea of a god interrupting mischievous fairies who were about to kill/kidnap/do gods know what to a village boy who made a very stupid mistake. the whole scene is now an interlude in fantasy romance wip.

2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

no clue, honestly. shout out to queen's deception from the destiny soundtrack though, it'd have a similar vibe.

3. Who are your favourite characters you've made? Why?

from fantasy romance wip? im risking being obvious here, but its between loifa and rowan. probably rowan, i think. the boy is just trying SO hard and loifa is just SO much to deal with. tbh he has older sister energy and i sympathize with that.

4. What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?

that's a very interesting question. my wip is mostly inspired by the fifth season and ffxiv, but in very different ways, so it's hard for me to say that ppl who liked both would like it. bc you know... fantasy romance wip is a romance (allegedly!)... and the fifth season and ffxiv aren't...

(well, ffxiv is if you try hard enough but)

let's say i wouldnt be surprised if someone who liked nettle & bone and the cruel prince also liked fantasy romance wip. id expect that person to be aroace and/or queer in some way though, ngl.

5. What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?

the middle!!! and the length!! it's kinda bizarre just how much needs to happen and how i need to fit so much into a standalone and i still have no middle to speak of?? like how does that even happen

also, you know... the romance.... :(

6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!

lots of animals!! or beasts in general. good honest folk (cows, horses, sheep just minding their business and being slaughtered for no good reason by Things) and the mischievous crowd (carnivorous deer, three eyed owls, said Things), etc. no little guys to speak of so far, though.

7. How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)

on foot. there are only like two horses left in the marrow (the village) and they are working horses, so they arent used for travel/getting around.

8. What part of your wip are you working on rn?

(through blood, sweat and tears) [the beginning of] the middle!!!!

9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?

weird magical forest + god/mortal relationship + tiny town/village energy + secrets + the aroace lens. basically.

10. What are your hopes for your wip?

id be very contented if i finished it honestly :(

For a while now I've been fighting the temptation to reread The Night Circus. I don't know why. Nothing prompted the idea, and I knew I should prioritize other books I still haven't read, but the circus kept calling.

So I came up with a plan to appease the siren song: "I will just read the first page". Its half remembered words had been plaguing my mind for days, and rereading them would scratch that itch. There was no need to reread the whole book, reminiscing the words in that first page would be enough.

I grabbed the book and read the first page once again... And the magic of the circus grabbed me. I read the second page and the third one, barely realizing I was doing it, snared by the magic prose and the magic of the circus.

Before I realized, I'd finished the first chapter. While reading the second chapter I was fully aware of the dangerous terrain I had treaded into. The plan wasn't to reread the whole book, and the more I read, the harder it would be to put down.

And yet, I couldn't bring myself to fight the magic of the circus. Why would I? It had captured me once again, transported me into a world of magic, wonders and dreams. Why had I thought that I could break the spell of a siren by listening its song?

If you think about it, my fate was sealed the moment the idea to reread the book crossed my mind, after all...
