you are absolutely right about Daera supporting Rhaenyra’s interest in sword fighting.

I mean, who is going to tell the daughter of Alyssa Targaryen that her own daughter cannot do what her grandmother did?

If Rhaenyra wants to learn how to wield a sword, Daera will rope a King’s Guard into teaching her the basics and if her interest continues, more. Her Nyra is just similar to Alyssa in that regard (that certainly makes Vizzy come around).

And if Daera gets to ogle a handsome knight under the pretense of watching over her daughter during training, where’s the harm in it?

Perfect for calling out snide comments without needing to engage. You wanna take pot shots at me? Kinda fucking rude of you. Anyways —

#I had one ‘friend’ who did this whenever they were high #nasty comments about how it was embarrassing that it took me a while to build a mental map #or how I was stupid for not reusing a 3 year old essay on a book when I switched schools #or interrupting me repeatedly until I shut up when I tried to excitedly tell them something new I’d learned #I started clapping back #but I like ‘hm. rude.’ better #shuts the BS down without needing to dignify it #also works when someone is clearly trying to get a rise out of you #like that time a friend’s mom was reeeeeaaaaally trying to rile me up #by making increasingly rude comments about my stretched ears #that’s rude. anyways!
