once they're inside their home, mia's hands wander. the door is not yet fully closed and yet, the keys are dropped into the bowl and her hand is already gathering the material of peyton's dress. she bunches it up around her waist, backing her girlfriend against the wall as her free hand dips between them to caress her inner thighs. "we should've been more prepared. could've fucked you properly at the bar," she mutters, dropping her head into the crook of peyton's neck.

Four.
Summary: Lucas & Peyton never left 🤍 and almost exactly 2 years after Sawyer was born, Peyton discovers she’s pregnant with her second child. With Lucas out of town she turns to Brooke to lean on.
"Brooke?"
“Hi P Sawyer! What are you doing, girlie?" Brooke asked playfully, as she juggled her phone against her ear and shoulder while rummaging through her purse to find her car keys. When there was silence on the other end, her stomach dropped, and the keys were no longer important.
“Peyton, is everything okay? What's going on?"
She removed the hand that was covering her mouth and massaged the center of her forehead before answering, trying to collect her thoughts that were running wild. "Are you home right now?" Peyton asked.
“I was just about to run to the store, what's wrong? Where are you?" Brooke asked, with no clue what was going on.
“I think I'm pregnant.”
"What! Oh my gosh, you scared me! Wait...how do we feel about this?" Brooke asked, unsure how to react. Of course, she was excited but based on Peyton's demeanor, she wanted to know what was running through her best friend's mind. Two years ago Peyton almost died from pregnancy complications and with every pause and delayed response, she gathered that this news was a lot for her to process. Peyton began to cry and finally mustered out the words, "I don't know."
“Hang on, forget the store, I'm on my way, okay?" Brooke offered.
“Okay, I love you" Peyton responded.
Brooke knew that Lucas and Sawyer were out of town visiting Karen, Andy, and Lilly for the next two weeks and that Peyton was home alone. She should have been in New Zealand with them but was forced to stay home at the very last minute. Mia's new album was finished and ready for distribution when she got the offer to be featured on a new song with Dashboard Confessional. The deal required Mia and the band to each put the track on both of their albums.
With a lot of adjustments to be made, Peyton made the call at the last minute to stay in Tree Hill due to the time zone difference and workload she now had in front of her.
“Peyton?" Brooke called as she came through the side door in Lucas and Peyton's bedroom. Peyton met her in the doorway holding her latest of four tests and let out a large sigh.
“Hi..." she said as Brooke rushed over to her and wrapped her in her arms. An embrace that Peyton needed but one that caused her to smile, laugh, and cry all at the same time. When Brooke pulled away she saw what was in Peyton's hand and said, "P Sawyer, tell me what you're thinking, Mama?"
Peyton wiped a tear from the corner of her eye and let out another small burst of laughter. They both sat on the bed, their unofficial spot to divulge everything since they were kids.
"I don't know how this happened." Peyton shared.
“Well, I think I know how it happened," Brooke joked, trying to add levity to the conversation. Peyton appreciated the joke, but her smile faded quickly and she finally began to open up.
“What if it happens again? It's been almost two years and I still have nightmares that something happened to Sawyer and I wake up not knowing if I'm dead or alive. I always imagined having a big family, but after Sawyer was born... I can't go through that again... I mean I can and I would but I can't lose my baby."
"Honey, no, no it's okay... Just because you had complications in the past, does not mean it's going to happen again. I remember you telling me your doctor said it may not be an issue for you in the future!”
“But what if it is?" Peyton asked Brooke.
"But what if it's not? A wise woman once told me that we waste most of our time worrying about things that never even happen and I wonder who that was?"
“Fair." Peyton said as she smirked and nodded her head.
For a moment Peyton envisioned a family of four. Sawyer as a big sister. Two car seats. Lucas reading a bedtime story with two tiny faces tucked under each strong arm. How things could be.
"Talk to your doctor but first talk to your husband. I bet his first reaction will be nothing but pure happiness. That boy loves you and I see how he is with Sawyer. He's halfway around the world with her right now and the fact that he took a 2-year-old on a plane by himself automatically makes him the Dad of the year material. You’re Lucas and Peyton. You guys can handle this. You two can handle anything.”
"Thank you…” Peyton whispered as she reached out to grab Brooke's hand. Brooke smiled and said “You’ve got baby in that belly!”
“I’ve got a baby in my belly.” Peyton proudly repeated and gently laid her hand on her stomach.”

whilst being pregnant at christmas wasn’t something the woman had ever really planned upon. it was something that she was slowly starting to enjoy. she had an extra excuse to eat every single treat offered her way, whilst simultaneously lacking guilt over visiting the corner shop on her breaks at work. whilst she didn’t visibly look pregnant, she physically felt it and she would waste no time in indulging in all the chocolate and candy canes their baby required, suffering the consequences for it like a trooper. as a result of her busy schedule -- taking on even more hours in a bid to save up more money before she was unable to work -- it had taken her until this point to get around to decorating the little pink tree she put up in her room every year, and as was usual in their tradition -- mia had to help, too.  “do you think we’re too old and too pregnant for santa to visit us this year?” humming thoughtfully as she marvels at the sparkling bauble in her hand, throwing her equally pregnant girlfriend a glance. though she knew it was their parents that were the true culprits, she was more than willing to play along, never wishing to lose the magic that christmas bought.

“here.” she slides the pasta dish towards peyton, taking a seat opposite her. “you know, if you’re worried about cooking, i can do all of that. i’ll cook and clean. you can be nicki minaj in this situation, i don’t mind.” mia’s trying to make light of the situation but she knows peyton is worried about it. she reaches over and brushes her fingers across the back of her hand. “we’re going to be okay. the babies are going to be okay. we’ve got a billion parents to help us out if we need it and we probably will, but that’s okay. we’ve got each other and that’s the most important thing. just... i love you, pey.”

mia really is the last person peyton wants to see. whilst she might not be in the line of fire, richie was basically her uncle -- and so she would defend him to the death if that’s what it came to. “you have got to be fucking kidding me,” she mutters, grimacing slightly as she grips the red solo cup a little tighter in her hand. “nobody said you’d be coming here, too.”

( cis woman / she/her  )     i thought i saw CINDY KIMBERLY walking down 5th avenue, but it was just VALENTINA PEREZ. you know, the TWENTY-TWO year old CAFÉ OWNER . they seemed to be feeling CONCERNED about the book announcement, it might be because they ARE expected to be featured in it. i’ve heard they are COMPASSIONATE and can also be IMPULSIVE, but the best way to describe them is LIPSTICK STAINS ON WINE GLASSES, THE SMELL OF RAIN IN THE AIR, BARE FEET IN THE MORNINGS, UNANSWERED TEXTS
Tumblr media

S T A T S
FULL NAME: valentina perez ( née lucía perez )
NICKNAMES: val, vale
FACE CLAIM: cindy kimberly
AGE: twenty-two
DATE OF BIRTH: april 25th, 1999
ZODIAC SIGN: taurus
GENDER + PRONOUNS: cisfemale, she/her
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: single
OCCUPATION: owner of a small café
LOOSELY INSPIRED BY: serena van der woodsen ( gossip girl ), mia thermopolis ( the princess diaries ), peyton sawyer ( one tree hill )
B A C K S T O R Y
valentina was born as lucía perez on the beautiful island of ibiza in the mediterrean sea - her mother, aulia perez, a receptionist at one of the many luxurious five stars hotels, her father, ricardo montesinos de cardona, the king of a small, but very rich, country that technically belongs to spain, but has it’s own ruler.
growing up, she had no idea that she was a “bastard child”. her parents had a quiet arrangement of monthly checks that would make sure the affair and her existence wouldn’t ever see the light of day and be known to the public.
safe to say she had a rather normal childhood - maybe some of her clothes were a little more expensive than the ones of her friends, but it had never been a big deal to her. she had never questioned her mother’s rather large income considering she was just working as a receptionist - half time now ever since lucía had been born. most of the money went into vacations that they took during school holidays, awakening lucía’s love for travelling and her free-spirited mind.
obviously, the daddy question was brought up at some point and continued to be brought up throughout the years - her mom’s answer always the same: “he was vacationing at the hotel i work at. he travels the world, so he really doesn’t have any time to get back to ibiza at the moment.” once lucía was older, the answer slightly changed into “i don’t know where he is, i don’t even have his phone number. but you and i are better off without him anyway.”
tw cancer, tw parental death !
at the age of 16 her mother got diagnosed with a severe kind of breast cancer. even though they tried every treatment possible, she passed away six months later, not only destroying lucía mentally, but also leaving her as an orphan, basically.
two days after the funeral, a black car with tinted windows showed up at her aunt’s house that she was currently staying at, requesting her to come with them to see her dad.
needless to say it completely blew her mind when she met him for the first time and she found out about her true heritage. even though he hadn’t been present in her life for sixteen years which had caused some daddy issues, it didn’t take them long to hit it off, many of her own character traits coming from him.
still, living at the palace made her feel uncomfortable. not because she didn’t get along with her half-siblings or anything. it just wasn’t her world.
shortly before her eighteenth birthday, her father announced to legitimize her, making her a princess, another heir to run for the crown if anything should happen to any of her older siblings.
a press conference was held the next day where she was introduced to the whole world as lucía montesinos de cardona, his daughter. questions about why he was only showing her now or how long he had known of her, how she personally felt to suddenly become a royal overwhelmed the young woman. lucía packed up her bags in the middle of the night and fled, ending up in nyc - a city she had always dreamed to live in.
two months after her eighteenth birthday and 600 missed calls from her dad later, after trying to hold her head above water with waitress jobs, she finally accepted the call. explaining the whole situation to him now that she was far away and some time had passed.
her father was surprisingly very understanding. and even though she refused to tell him about her whereabouts or anything else, she woke up to a large sum of money in her bank account the next day. but needless to say her running away caused a strain on their just freshly built relationship.
still, the checks keep on coming monthly ( just like they had to her mom ) and once she had turned twenty-one, she decided to purchase a small café in the village ( think some cozy parisian café in the corner of a street with baked goods and v good coffee ).
she decided to legally change her first name to valentina and take on her mother’s maiden name again to have a fresh start in the city and close the chapter of her past.
and even though she owns an apartment on the upper west side with a nice view of the central park now, and her bank account is full, money really isn’t something she cares about or identifies herself with. the source of it a well kept secret, just like her true identity.
tldr; basically found out she’s royal when she was sixteen, a “princess” who doesn’t wanna be one and doesn’t want anyone to know about it. she prefers to live a normal life and keeps her wealth and status a secret.

ride or die: the blair to her serena, the peyton to her brooke, basically any tv best friendship you can imagine. they met when valentina first got to nyc ( maybe drunkenly in the restroom of a bar complimenting each other’s outfits, maybe in central park both reading the same book, etc. ). valentina confides to them, cries to them, talks about anything and everything with them. they’re also the only person she met in nyc who knows about her “ royal status “.
first true love: her first year in nyc was everything but easy, but they made her feel a happiness she’d never felt before, she’d never been so in love, making her forget all the struggles she was dealing with. innocent, but she never told them her back story. still, they were her safe haven, her home. and even though they eventually outgrew each other with growing older and finding themselves, realizing that things just didn’t work out, she’ll always hold them dear to her heart.
a regular customer: they come in every single day to get their coffee at her place, usually finding valentina basically already waiting for them. maybe they flirt, maybe they’ve hooked up once, maybe they’re just talking about the weather and wishing each other a nice day once the coffee order is done.
squad: a group of people who are just really close and do lots of stupid shit together
ex- summer fling: they met on spanish soil while she was living there and they were vacationing. hooked up a few times, but they both knew nothing serious would come out of it. they know her as lucía and not as valentina
exes who ended on bad terms: two years into living in nyc, valentina struggled with a long lasting wave of sadness while she was with them, the pain of her mother’s passing catching up with her. she’s constantly pushed them away, even though they were completely supportive and there for her, but she closed herself off. she hurt them. there are still things that need to be said, probably still lingering feelings.
enemies with benefits: valentina and this person cannot stand each other, for whatever reason. however, there’s always flirty banter hidden beneath their conversations, which seamlessly transfers into the bedroom.
friends, roommates, customers, aquaintances, hook-ups, etc.

Summer Film Preview: 27 of the Most Anticipated Movies of the Season!
Among ET's 90 top picks for summer are our 27 most anticipated films of the season.
Every summer, there is no shortage of new films to blow audiences away at theaters -- and blow away records at the box office. This summer, things are looking especially massive. Blockbuster season kicks off in a huge way with the highly anticipated back-to-back releases of Deadpool 2and Solo: A Star Wars Story, ushering in an onslaught of franchise films with new installments of Jurassic World, Marvel's Ant-Man, Mission: Impossible and The Purge.
Not everything is a sequel, though. Of the originals is the eagerly awaited adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians, marking the first time a major studio has produced an all-Asian-led film since The Joy Luck Club; Spike Lee's latest, BlacKkKlansman; and -- because it wouldn't be summer without one -- a shark attack flick, The Meg, starring Jason Statham.
But no matter what you’re looking forward to, there's plenty to choose from among these 27 sure-to-be hit films.
Deadpool 2 (Out Now)
The Deadpool sequel is bigger, louder and packed with more violence and superpeople, dick jokes and fourth wall-breaking meta-ness than the original X-Men-adjacent movie. And while that all sounds like a recipe for a bloated case of sequelitis, Ryan Reynolds and co. not only pull it off, but top the first.
Directed by: David Leitch | Written by: Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Ryan Reynolds Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams
Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25)
Forget everything you think you know about the legendary smuggler and prepare for the unexpected. That's the best advice we can give you about Star Wars' latest anthology installment, which, sure, features the Kessel Run and Han Solo and Chewbacca's origin story, then blasts off for so much more.
Directed by: Ron Howard | Written by: Jonathan Kasdan and Lawrence Kasdan Starring: Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke
American Animals (June 1)
Tumblr media
The Orchard / MoviePass Ventures
According to the minds behind American Animals, while most movies are based on a true story, this one is a true story, about four college students who plan "one of the most audacious art heists in U.S. history." It also marks the first appearance on this list by the true star of the summer movie season: Ann Dowd.
Directed by: Bart Layton | Written by: Bart Layton Starring: Evan Peters, Barry Keoghan, Blake Jenner, Jared Abrahamson, Ann Dowd
Hereditary (June 8)
Tumblr media
A24
Following its screening at Sundance earlier this year, Hereditary was hailed as the scariest horror movie in years -- if not of all time. As for what actually transpires in the film, well, that is best left vague. Brace yourself for hypnotically unnerving tongue pops and flashbacks to Toni Collette's iconic turn in The Sixth Sense.
Directed by: Ari Aster | Written by: Ari Aster Starring: Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro, Ann Dowd
Ocean's 8 (June 8)
This year's Met Gala might as well have been early promo for Ocean's 8, which centers on another heist-happy Ocean, Debbie, who assembles a team of women to help rob a fictional Met Gala. (If you do some simple math, it seems Anne Hathaway's mark is one of the eight, too.) Unfortunately, Rihanna will likely not be dressed as a sexy pope.
Directed by: Gary Ross | Written by: Gary Ross and Olivia Milch Starring: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna
Won't You Be My Neighbor? (June 8)
Tumblr media
Focus Features
If you were a child in the '60s -- or '70s, '80s, '90s, the aughts, really, if you were a child ever -- then Won't You Be My Neighbor? will be a nostalgic return to your younger years, a look at the long-running and formative TV series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and the man behind it, the late Fred Rogers.
Directed by: Morgan Neville
Hearts Beat Loud (June 8)
Tumblr media
Gunpowder & Sky
This gem of an indie is for anyone who has ever wished Nick Offerman could be your best friend, your dad or both: Kiersey Clemons plays Offerman's daughter and reluctant bandmate as they navigate fame and family in Hearts Beat Louder. Sprinkle in a queer romance and an earworm-y soundtrack, and what more could you ask for?
Directed by: Brett Haley | Written by: Brett Haley and Marc Basch Starring: Nick Offerman, Kiersey Clemons, Ted Danson, Toni Collette, Sasha Lane, Blythe Danner
Hotel Artemis (June 8)
Tumblr media
Global Road Entertainment
Read this logline: "Set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, Hotel Artemis is a high-octane action-thriller starring Jodie Foster as The Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only hospital for criminals." Now re-read that sentence over and over and over until you go insane and this becomes your most anticipated movie of the year.
Directed by: Drew Pearce | Written by: Drew Pearce Starring: Jodie Foster, Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella, Zachary Quinto, Sterling K. Brown, Jeff Goldblum
Incredibles 2 (June 15)
Tumblr media
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
It has been well over a decade since the original Incredibles arrived in theaters and, even now, under the looming threat of superhero saturation, that first film remains one of the best superhero movies period. Finally, Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack are back, with Frozone and, of course, Edna.
Directed by: Brad Bird | Written by: Brad Bird Starring: Holly Hunter, Craig T. Nelson, Samuel L. Jackson, Catherine Keener, Sophia Bush
Tag (June 15)
Tumblr media
Warner Bros. Pictures
This is a movie about tag -- as in, the game in which you tag someone and they are then "it." Specifically, Tag is about a group of childhood buddies who have been playing tag one month out of the year, every year, for 30 years. If you are wondering, Where do they come up with this?!, it was a Wall Street Journal article.
Directed by: Jeff Tomsic | Written by: Rob McKittrick and Mark Steilen Starring: Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Jon Hamm, Hannibal Buress, Isla Fisher, Leslie Bibb
Damsel (June 22)
Tumblr media
Magnolia Pictures
If you hear that Robert Pattinson is starring in a Western, you probably have a notion of what that film is. Damsel is not the movie you're imagining, guaranteed -- unless, of course, you pictured a screwball comedy about a pioneer who voyages west with a drunkard and a miniature horse named Butterscotch.
Directed by: David Zellner and Nathan Zellner | Written by: David Zellner and Nathan Zellner Starring: Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, David Zellner
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (June 22)
In the colossally successful Jurassic World, the dinosaurs destroyed the park, as dinosaurs are wont to do, and now Isla Nublar is threatening to destroy the dinosaurs. Thus, Claire and Owen are enlisted to help save the dinosaurs from a second extinction -- and that's only the beginning of this adventure.
Directed by: J.A. Bayona | Written by: Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly Starring: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, James Cromwell, Justice Smith
Under the Silver Lake (June 22)
Tumblr media
A24
Something about those hot summer nights must make us itch for a mystery, because this is yet another noir-y flick arriving in cineplexes, albeit a very modern take on the genre. Andrew Garfield plays a stoner Angelino who begins sleuthing when his dream girl disappears in the middle of the night without a trace.
Directed by: David Robert Mitchell | Written by: David Robert Mitchell Starring: Andrew Garfield, Riley Keough, Topher Grace, Jimmi Simpson
The First Purge (July 4)
Tumblr media
Universal Pictures
There's something almost comforting about knowing that every (sometimes every other) Independence Day brings a new installment in the ongoing Purge franchise. Who knew a nutty little murder flick could have so much steam? This one goes back to the beginning and the invention of a government-sponsored killing spree.
Directed by: Gerard McMurray | Written by: James DeMonaco Starring: Lex Scott Davis, Y'lan Noel, Luna Lauren Velez, Joivan Wade, Marisa Tomei
Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6)
Consider the Ant-Man sequel a respite for those still reeling over the ending of Infinity War, a plucky comedic romp about heroes who shrink, supersize and now fly, too, which probably won't leave you frantically wiping away tears as the theater lights come on. Also, Michelle Pfeiffer plays a superhero!
Directed by: Peyton Reed | Written by: Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari and Paul Rudd Starring: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hannah John-Kamen, Michael Peña
Sorry to Bother You (July 6)
Tumblr media
Annapurna Pictures
There is original, and then there is Sorry to Bother You. If a stranger, more out-there film has ever been made, I haven't seen it. I've never seen anything like this, a satiric tale about a telemarketer who uses his "white voice" to get ahead that feels at once painstakingly plotted and completely free-associated.
Directed by: Boots Riley | Written by: Boots Riley Starring: Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Jermaine Fowler, Steven Yeun, Armie Hammer
Whitney (July 6)
Whitney is not the first documentary to turn the lens on Whitney Houston in the years since her 2012 death, but it is the first to be endorsed by her estate, featuring interviews with loved ones of Houston who had never spoken publicly before and bombshell revelations that made news ahead of Whitney's official release.
Directed by: Kevin Macdonald
Eighth Grade (July 13)
Tumblr media
A24
You know how adults always say, "I'm so happy I didn't grow up when there was social media." Watch this Sundance drama, comedian Bo Burnham's directorial debut, and feel that tenfold, alternately a cringey and heartwarming look at what it means to be coming into your own -- yes, with YouTube and Twitter.
Directed by: Bo Burnham | Written by: Bo Burnham Starring: Elsie Fisher, Josh Hamilton
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (July 20)
Is Meryl Streep's character still alive for the Mamma Mia! sequel? Supposedly. We do know that we will see a younger version of Donna (played by Lily James) as the ABBA singalong jumps back in time to show the Dynamos' origin story, while in the present, Donna's daughter is pregnant with a baby of her own.
Directed by: Ol Parker | Written by: Ol Parker Starring: Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Lily James, Colin Firth, Cher
Mission: Impossible - Fallout (July 27)
Tumblr media
Paramount Pictures
After successfully completing five other supposedly impossible missions, whatever Ethan Hunt is tasked with in Fallout should be considered mission: pretty difficult but manageable. Still, Tom Cruise continues to up the ante in insane and preposterous ways, like jumping out of a plane at 25,000 feet, for one.
Directed by: Christopher McQuarrie | Written by: Christopher McQuarrie Starring: Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett
Christopher Robin (Aug. 3)
If you enjoyed last year's period drama Goodbye Christopher Robin, about the real boy who inspired the creation of Winnie the Pooh, then you are sure to enjoy this, too, Disney's less historical, more fantastical tale about grown-up Christopher Robin and how Pooh and the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood gang help him rediscover his imagination.
Directed by: Marc Forster | Written by: Alex Ross Perry Starring: Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Jim Cummings, Chris O'Dowd, Brad Garrett, Toby Jones
The Spy Who Dumped Me (Aug. 3)
I would pay money to watch Kate McKinnon read the phone book. Thankfully, she gets much more to do in this action-comedy, in which Mila Kunis plays the unwitting woman dumped by a spy. McKinnon plays her bestie, and the two quickly find themselves in over their heads trying to stop a terrorist group and save the world.
Directed by: Susanna Fogel | Written by: David Iserson and Susanna Fogel Starring: Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon, Sam Heughan, Gillian Anderson, Justin Theroux
BlacKkKlansman (Aug. 10)
Tumblr media
Focus Features
Spike Lee is back with his latest joint, the so-crazy-it-must-be-true saga of Ron Stallworth, the first black police officer in Colorado Springs, and his undercover operation to infiltrate a local Ku Klux Klan chapter, which was so successful that he eventually became its head.
Directed by: Spike Lee | Written by: Spike Lee, David Rabinowitz, Charlie Wachtel, Kevin Willmott Starring: John David Washington, Adam Driver, Topher Grace, Laura Harrier
The Meg (Aug. 10)
Tumblr media
Warner Bros. Pictures
No summer is complete without a silly shark attack movie, and for the summer of 2018, The Meg fits that bill and then some. First of all, the shark in question is a megalodon, which basically just means a REALLY BIG F**KING SHARK, and hopefully Jason Statham will punch it at some point, right?
Directed by: Jon Turteltaub | Written by: Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber Starring: Jason Statham, Ruby Rose, Rainn Wilson, Bingbing Li, Cliff Curtis, Masi Oka
Crazy Rich Asians (Aug. 17)
Based on the bestselling novel by Kevin Kwan, Crazy Rich Asians is about a Chinese American professor who travels to Singapore to meet her boyfriend's family and discovers they are -- you guessed it -- crazy rich! Hijinks ensue. This is also the first Hollywood movie with a majority Asian cast in 25 years, i.e., crazy overdue.
Directed by: Jon M. Chu | Written by: Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim Starring: Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Ken Jeong
To All the Boys I've Loved Before (Aug. 17)
Tumblr media
Netflix
Here's one YA fans have been waiting for. Based on the bestselling novel by Jenny Han, the title refers to letters our heroine, Lara Jean Covey, writes to her past crushes, love letters they are never meant to see -- but do, after they're accidentally mailed out. You don't need to head to the cinema to swoon over this one; it's streaming on Netflix.
Directed by: Susan Johnson | Written by: Sofia Alvarez Starring: Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parrish, Emilija Baranac, Israel Broussard, John Corbett
The Happytime Murders (Aug. 17)
Nothing says summertime like puppets snorting ecstasy and soliciting sex. The Happytime Murders -- no lie, from the same director as The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island -- is about police partners, one felt and one Melissa McCarthy, investigating who is shooting the stuffing out of puppets.
Directed by: Brian Henson | Written by: Todd Berger Starring: Melissa McCarthy, Elizabeth Banks, Maya Rudolph, Joel McHale

Best Movies Coming to Netflix in April 2021
https://ift.tt/2PMiCas
When 2021 began, many movie lovers were hopeful April would be the month of the rebound. James Bond was scheduled to (finally) return at the beginning of the month, and Marvel’s Black Widow was waiting at just the end of it. This of course did not happen.
Nevertheless, for those looking for more bite-sized distractions over the usual binging blur on streaming services, there is still relief coming on Netflix. While all of the below movies are relatively recent, chances are you haven’t seen any of them in a long time, if at all. So sit back, relax, and find out the best options to Netflix and chill this April.
Insidious (2011)
April 1
As the movie that arguably ushered in the horror movie renaissance of the 2010s—or at least cemented the Blumhouse Productions formula—Insidious has become strangely overlooked. This is probably due to director James Wan and star Patrick Wilson refining this style to even greater success a few years later with The Conjuring. Nevertheless, Insidious is a creepy delight, one which reworked Steven Spielberg’s Poltergeist for the 21st century with its vision of a haunted house in suburbia. The logline, though is what really made this scary: it isn’t the house that’s haunted… it’s your son. With their lad pursued by a demon from a place called “the Further,” a father (Wilson) and mother (Rose Byrne) will have to confront some repressed supernatural trauma and team-up with Lin Shaye’s marvelous ghost hunter. Just beware the Woman in Black.
Legally Blonde (2001)
April 1
Legally Blonde remains the best kind of comedy: one that’s as socially relevant as it is fun. The feminist comedy about a “sorority girl” who decides to go to Harvard Law School to get her ex-boyfriend back became an immediate classic when it hit theaters in 2001. Starring Reese Witherspoon as protagonist Elle Woods, and based on a book of the same name by Amanda Brown, Legally Blonde came out at a time when most pop culture feminism took the form of Strong Female Characters who had to be traditionally masculine in order to be taken seriously as female role models.
Legally Blonde, by contrast, gave us a character who not only didn’t have to give up her femininity to be seen as smart, competent, and powerful, but whose exhibition of those qualities stems from her femininity. The film would go on to launch several sequels (one theatrical and one straight-to-home video release), with another one in development, plus a musical. But the original movie’s cultural legacy lives on far beyond that.
The Pianist (2002)
April 1
We cannot in good conscience recommend this movie without noting the film is directed by the reprehensible Roman Polanski. If that is a deal-breaker, please move on. However, there is a powerful piece of cinema here, and in a subject matter the director is all too familiar with: the Holocaust. Starring Adrien Brody in the role that won him an Oscar, the film provides a searing biographical portrait of Władysław Szpilman, a Polish classical composer of Jewish descent. After the Germans invaded his homeland, Szpilman is confined to the Warsaw Ghetto, where he first continues performing for Polish radio and then spends the last two years of the war in hiding, evading Nazi detection and death in the concentration camps. It’s unforgettable for those who can watch.
Yes Man (2008)
April 1
This Jim Carrey comedy based on a memoir by Danny Wallace sees a buttoned up businessman make a covenant to say ‘yes’ to every opportunity he is presented with. While it’s structurally pretty similar to his earlier hit Liar Liar, this is good-natured, classic Carrey which might just provide some much needed escapism during these dark times. The director is Peyton Reed, who went on to make Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, and although the story—essentially a romance co-starring Zooey Deschanel in manic pixie dream girl mode—is formulaic, Reed brings a pace and energy that keeps it buzzing until the end.
The Master (2012)
April 15
Paul Thomas Anderson’s deliciously opaque satire of Scientology (or sympathetic love letter to the misled?) has new poignancy in 2021. With its depiction of a traumatized veteran (Joaquin Phoenix) falling for the bait of a charismatic charlatan (Philip Seymour Hoffman), it rings truer than ever. It also still features bizarrely fascinating performances from both Phoenix and Hoffman, with the latter being particularly bombastic as a science fiction writer who’s become a profit. It’s never really clear if he believes his own line of BS, but what is obvious is the one to really watch out for is Amy Adams as Hoffman’s lethally smiling wife.
Crimson Peak (2015)
April 16
Pan’s Labyrinth and The Shape of Water director Guillermo del Toro took things back to the late 1800s for his Gothic romance film Crimson Peak. This horror-tinged drama stars Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston as star-crossed lovers, and Jessica Chastain as Tom’s conniving sister and lady of a haunted castle in the English countryside. Like a Roger Corman Edgar Allan Poe flick from the ’60s, Crimson Peak begins as an unlikely love story but soon devolves into a nightmare come to life for Wasikowska’s Edith, who discovers that there’s more to her new husband, his sister, and their home than meets the eye.

While not quite on par with del Toro’s other films from a narrative perspective, Crimson Peak is a masterclass in atmosphere and spooky imagery. The movie is less a jump scare-heavy cheap thrill and more of an unnerving slow-burn. It may feel a bit dated to modern audiences, but those who like a good haunted house story will find plenty to love in this picture.
Rush (2013)
April 16
A little bit Ford v. Ferrari before Ford v. Ferrari was a film, Rush is a surprisingly underrated biopic from director Ron Howard. With its traditional Hollywood filmmaker operating at top performance, Rush provides a highly dramatized portrayal of a rivalry between two Formula One drivers, British wheelman James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth), and Austrian driver Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl). In real-life, the pair began as good drinking mates on the Formula Three circuit before becoming superstar rivals at a higher level between 1973 and ’79. The film tracks their speed, bravado, and sometimes horrific crashes with steady doses of adrenaline. And hey, it stars Thor and Baron Zemo!
Synchronic (2020)
April 16
Synchronic is the fourth and most ambitious film yet from the directing-writing-producing (and sometimes acting) team of Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson. The pair have explored the grip of addiction and the passage of time in all of their features to date, and this sci-fi/horror hybrid continues with those themes. Anthony Mackie (the MCU’s Falcon) stars as Steve, a New Orleans paramedic who learns he has six weeks to live just as he and his partner Dennis (Jamie Dornan) respond to a series of bizarre deaths linked to a new designer drug called Synchronic. What the drug does and how it affects the two friends personally propels Steve on a mind-bending, frightening, yet ultimately compassionate journey, told extremely well here with strong performances and shocking imagery.

Happy 4th of July everyone! It’s surely a much different Holiday this year as COVID-19 has put all of us in a new normal for our daily routines. So, no, there won’t be the huge July 4th fireworks crowd, but instead more intimate backyard bbq’s and yes, unfortunately no baseball.
It also means no big wrestling extravaganzas around the Summer to celebrate either. Any thoughts of getting crowds back into the WWE have been seemingly set aside by the spikes around than 30 states in the past two weeks. So, let’s enjoy what we have and that my friends was a very strong week on all three shows. My nod to the tops of the week – NXT with a holiday themed Great American Bash!
Star of the Week:
Sasha Banks & Bayley – Three shows again this week and they were standouts on each and every one of them. Banks taps out Asuka on Monday night before the green mist gets the revenge on Wednesday night as the Empress trumps the Boss. Bayley rounds out the week with a DQ win over Alexa Bliss due to Nikki Cross’ blindside on the champ. Week in and week out they are carrying the women’s division at the moment. They even gave themselves a nice little tribute to boot too!
RAW
RESULTS
Andrade & Angel Garza defeated The Viking Raiders
24/7 Championship Match: R-Truth defeated Akira Tozawa to win title
Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy defeated Aleister Black & Humberto Carrillo
Peyton Royce defeated Ruby Riott
2-on-1 Handicap Match: The Big Show defeated Andrade & Angel Garza
United States Championship Non-Title Match: MVP defeated Apollo Crews
Bobby Lashley defeated Ricochet
Champions vs. Challengers Match: Sasha Banks & Dolph Ziggler defeated Asuka & Drew McIntyre

Double contract-signing chaos – Loved, loved, loved getting both contract signings out of the way to start the show and instead make it an in-ring main event as champions Asuka & Drew McIntyre took on their Extreme Rules challengers Sasha Banks & Dolph Ziggler. Contract signings are things of the past and predictable as hell. So, I appreciate the out-of-the-box thinking having Samoa Joe in the ring with chaos already ensuing to start the program. Plus, the main event was very good to boot!
Welcome back Ricochet – It’s nice to see Ricochet back, even in defeat to Bobby Lashley.
How many times can we…

Get Seth Rollins, Murphy, Aleister Black & Humberto Carrillo together? – It’s getting stale. Plus, here’s a thought to Rollins character of the Monday Night Messiah. If he truly is a Messiah, shouldn’t he have throngs of followers by now just not the same two guys to do his bidding? Either go full in cult or not.
HE DID IT!@The305MVP just DEFEATED #USChampion @WWEApollo on #WWERaw! pic.twitter.com/GXENHXvG6s

Have MVP win – For a guy who seemingly retired after one match against Rey Mysterio in his WWE return, MVP sure does wrestle a lot and win. Now, we get a victory over the US Champ? Hmmmm. I get it, he needs Bobby Lashley to do it, but still. Can we make Apollo Crews look a bit stronger first before we tear him down? Ultimately, I think he makes the turn to heel town and joins MVP down the road.
Pay tribute to The Undertaker – Damn, they are really try to sell us that that Boneyard Match was his final match, I guess.
Meh:
Where was Liv Morgan – Sure thought Liv Morgan was going to save her former friend Ruby Riott against The IIconics but I guess that vacation took precedent.
Andrade & Angel Garza – Another week of win one, lose one for the Zelina Vega boys. I think it’s time to let these two fight it out for better or for worse. And speaking of that, can we get Angel & Charly Caruso together already! LFG!
NXT

The entire show. I thought that night 1 of the Great American Bash was entertaining from start to finish. The only thing I would’ve done differently is maybe to roll in some historical highlights of GAB of the past. Sure, Mauro Ranallo gave us some historical context during the Strap Match between Dexter Lumis and Rodrick Strong which was nice, but some video could’ve put the cherry on top of the sundae.
So, what stood out?
Her face says it all.

Two amazing matches starting out of the box with the #1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match. Who honestly saw Tegan Nox winning? Not me for sure! The back-and-forth was well done. Candice LeRae getting triple-team was expected and sets up next week’s street fight vs. Mia Yim.
The main event between Io Shirai and Sasha Banks was top notch including a wonderfully placed shoulder slam against the barricade by Banks to Shirai. Asuka’s arrival with the Green Mist was nice surprise too to help Io get the win.

Thatcher vs. Locan was a damn physical old school match too.

Rhea Ripley continues to win me over while adding some personality to her in-ring skills. Beating Aliyah and Robert Stone brought some levity to the show.
Plus, we got cars, puppies and a nod to the 4th. Can’t wait for night 2!

First hour – That was SOMETHING! If you are a wrestling fan, that was some kind of first hour with two amazing matches! Matt Riddle backs up his upset over AJ Styles two weeks ago with a second SmackDown victory, this time over John Morrison that was athletic as hell! Then, on the heels of that, Drew Gulak and Styles brawl it out before their match that was equally as good. Plus, I LOVED that they made AJ look strong with the victory. A very strong and smart 60 minutes, probably the best hour of the week.
Not so much:
Second hour – After such a strong hour, it seemed like hour two was just more set-up than quality. Getting just five minutes of Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley before Nikki Cross interfered for the DQ was a little disappointing, but set up next week’s tag match and of course, leads more for Cross vs. Bayley at Extreme Rules. The same can be said for Kofi Kingston vs. Shinsuke Nakamura. It was all to set up next week’s tag team title match.
Can do without:

A Toast to Jeff Hardy – Just not into the whole storyline of Sheamus mocking Jeff Hardy’s trouble with alcohol and substance abuse. Week after week of the same message just isn’t appealing for me. Plus, it’s just in bad taste IMHO. It was fine for a hook for one night, but they need to move on. Plus, was that main event slot worthy? I think not!
Can’t wait:

Back to the Swamp – I’m just intrigued how they will put it all together in the swamp when old friends Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt take the Horror Show to Extreme Rules.
Ironic, don’t you think:
Sasha & Bayley – LOVED that Sasha finally got back at Bayley for all her “Sasha will fight you now” by having Bayley fight Bliss Friday night. The back-and-forth between these two over three shows each week has been very entertaining.
Extreme Rules – Horror Show – Updated Card
WWE Championship Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler
RAW Women’s Championship Match: Asuka vs. Sasha Banks
Universal Championship Swamp Match: Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt
SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bayley vs. Nikki Cross
Parting Shots:
Renee Young’s big announcement – Well, she definitely had the internet buzzing with the rumors of a big reveal this week. Could she be joining hubby Jon Moxley in AEW? No, just putting out a cookbook! Should be tasty! Congrats Renee and here’s to a speedy recovery from COVID-19!
Wednesday Night War – Well, for the second straight week, NXT beat AEW in total viewership – 792,000 vs. 748,000. In the demo ratings, AEW is still the victor so still lots of stuff to crow about on each side. Quality stuff from both continues if you ask me.
Coming Up This Week:
RAW Champion vs. Champion – Asuka vs. Bayley
NXT – Great American Bash – Night 2 Champion vs. Champion Winner Take All Match: NXT Champion Adam Cole vs. North American Champion Keith Lee Street Fight: Mia Yim vs. Canice LeRae 6-Man Tag Team Match: Drake Maverick & Breezango vs. El Legado del Fantasma Damian Priest vs. Cameron Grimes
SMACKDOWN SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day vs. Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross Money In The Bank Universal Championship Match: Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt

Paul's New Project ~ Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" Off Broadway Play - http://paulwesleychronicles.com/pauls-new-project-mary-shelleys-frankenstein-off-broadway-play/ #PaulWesley
New Post has been published on http://paulwesleychronicles.com/pauls-new-project-mary-shelleys-frankenstein-off-broadway-play/
Paul's New Project ~ Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" Off Broadway Play
Ensemble for the Romantic Century has announced that joining Tony nominee Robert Fairchild in the Off-Broadway premiere of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein will be Avey Noble (Radio City Christmas Spectacular), Krysty Swann (Mozart’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall; Verdi’sRequiem at Lincoln Center), Mia Vallet (Lucy Thurber’s Asheville at Rattlestick), Peyton Lusk (Falsettos on Broadway), Rocco Sisto (OBIE Award for sustained excellence), Shiv Ajay Pancholi-Parekh, and Paul Wesley (“The Vampire Diaries,” Cal In Camo).
Fairchild, who will choreograph and star, will be making his Off-Broadway debut, as well as his debut as a choreographer.
Performances of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein will begin December 21st at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between Dyer and 10th Avenues). Opening Night is set for December 27th. This limited Off-Broadway engagement will run through January 7th only. Donald T. Sanders will direct.
PAUL WESLEY starred in, as well as directed and produced, the hit series “The Vampire Diaries.” Last year alone, he received rave reviews for his performance in the critically acclaimed Off-broadway show Cal In Camo alongside David Harbour, as well as landing a lead role opposite JK Simmons in Kevin Pollack’s indie feature The Late Bloomer. The prior year, Wesley starred in and produced IFC’s Before I Disappear, opposite Emmy Rossum for Oscar winner Shawn Christensen, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. He also co-starred in the Drafthouse festival hit Amira & Sam. His extensive television credits include “Fallen” opposite Bryan Cranston, 24, “Cane,” “Everwood,” “Wolf Lake” opposite Mary Elizabeth Winstead, to name a few. Wesley’s theater studies began in NYC. He made his professional stage debut in Shem Bitterman’s Sensitive Skin, which he received stellar reviews for.
The joys and perils of motherhood, the hovering shadow of infant mortality, and the sting of loneliness and rejection merge as Mary Shelley creates her masterwork, Frankenstein. The Creature that Dr. Frankenstein produces, an assemblage of disparate elements, coalesces into a monster with a human soul. His horrific appearance conceals the gentlest heart. Through no fault of his own, he is forced to descend into evil deeds. Excerpts from the 1818 edition of Frankenstein, music, and dance interwoven with Mary Shelley’s letters and diaries create parallel narratives as both dramas unfold. Mary Shelley’s Frankensteinis written by ERC Executive Artistic Director Eve Wolf and features Bach-inspired music of the 19th century, from Liszt, Schubert and Bach.

mia & peyton.
peyton brushes her leg between mia’s own purposefully, even more so once she feels her hips pressing down against her thigh. quickly deepening the kiss without a second thought, she whines into her mouth. it feels good, this alone causes a shiver to run through her frame, so she can’t even anticipate how good it’ll be to go further with the girl of her dreams. knowing mia wanted to be with her meant everything, it made her ache in a way that she only did when she allowed her thoughts to escape her, sometimes when mia touched her even in the most innocent of ways. all she’s ever wanted is her, and whilst she’d convinced herself it wasn’t a possibility, she was happy to be proven wrong. “what did you expect me to be like?” she asks curiously, as her fingers brush along her inner thigh, pushing her dress up even more so; tongue brushing against her lips as she looks into her best friend’s eyes, overwhelmed by the sight already in front of her. “have you thought of me at all?” she asks curiously, allowing her need to take over, letting her inhibitions dissipate for now. her thigh continues to move watching as best she can as mia’s clothed core brushes against her skin. “i’ve thought about you…” she carries on, fingers stroking against her abdomen, already overwhelmed; everywhere she touched her burned so good.
mia inhales sharply with each press of peyton’s leg. the blunt pressure is intoxicatingly good and she’s sure all coherent thoughts have gone right out the window with each deliberate movement peyton makes. mia can’t get enough of her, touching her everywhere she can reach. her fingers fumble with getting the belt adorning her waist undone and she drops it onto the floor beside them, sliding her hands underneath her dress and resting them against her back. “more... shy. way more shy.” she laughs a little, her breath hitching as she feels her fingertips lightly touching her skin. mia rests all of her weight back against the dresser, so very thankful it was there now she was being asked such a loaded question. manicured nails drag along her smooth skin and she pulls a hand free to rest against peyton’s chest. “i have thought about you for so long, peyton hanscom. for fucking years,” she says softly, watching the way her thumb slides delicately along the column of her throat. her hips roll gently against the thigh pressed firmly between her own and she hums, low in her throat. “tell me. what have you thought about, pey? i want to know everything. do you think you can make me wet like this? telling me how naughty you’ve been when i’ve been the only thing you could think of?” it’s a stupid question, actually. because mia was already aching between her thighs, underwear clinging to her in an almost uncomfortable fashion as she grinds her hips down into peyton’s thigh. she was sure she could feel it, how wet she had already made her, embarrassingly so, in fact.

Week 2 Fantasy Pickups: Priority waiver wire adds to boost your rosters
It is by no means too early to enhance a crew, folks. Profitable your fantasy league goes to require a good quantity of roster turnover. Every week all through the common season, we provide a gaggle of precedence pickups prematurely of waiver deadlines. Each participant listed right here is accessible in a majority of Yahoo leagues. Let’s add…
Operating backs to focus on on waiver wire
Coming into the yr, Hines had already established himself as one of many league’s most dependable backfield receiving choices. He delivered 107 receptions on 139 targets over his first two professional seasons. On Sunday, he added one other eight catches to that profession whole. Hines completed with 45 receiving yards and one rating in opposition to the Jaguars, including seven carries for 28 yards and one other spike. He was clearly a giant a part of the red-zone plan for the Colts…
Marlon Mack went down with a torn Achilles harm within the loss at Jacksonville, a brutal break for a top quality participant. In his absence, Hines cut up snaps evenly with completely hyped rookie Jonathan Taylor, who managed to achieve 89 scrimmage yards himself. These two complement one another extraordinarily nicely, so do not anticipate Hines to be utterly overtaken by Taylor. Philip Rivers has by no means didn’t feed targets to his operating backs. Do not be stunned if Hines manages to catch 70-plus passes within the yr forward. If he is getting 5-Eight carries every week behind the mastodons on the Colts’ O-line, that is a pleasant bonus.
Beneficial waiver provide, assuming $100 funds: $15
You possibly can’t say we did not inform you Brown had a shot at an enormous opening week workload. He was a featured title in final week’s pickups piece and he exceeded expectations. Brown carried 18 occasions for 79 yards and two spikes on Sunday evening, plus he caught three passes for an additional 31 yards. The Rams have all the time favored him as a goal-line runner — he dealt with eight carries contained in the 5-yard line final season — and he made essentially the most of his alternatives in opposition to the Cowboys. Cam Akers noticed 15 touches within the win in opposition to Dallas, which is promising, although he gained solely 43 whole yards.
For now, Brown is the clear head of the Rams’ backfield committee. If you happen to have been a ZeroRB drafter, you gotta bounce on Brown whereas he is nonetheless broadly out there. This can function final name.
Supply: $16
Austin Ekeler is the unmatched featured again for the Chargers, simply to be clear. Ekeler dealt with 20 touches on Sunday in opposition to Cincinnati, in a recreation that neither crew deserved to win (however one by chance did).
Kelley, nonetheless, appeared to settle the query of which again occupies the second spot on the depth chart. The rookie dealt with 12 carries, gaining 60 yards and scoring on a nifty goal-to-go plunge. Justin Jackson solely ran the ball twice, exiting with a quad harm. After Sunday’s spectacular debut, Kelley might very nicely be taking a look at double-digit weekly touches. He is a robust runner coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at UCLA, constructed to win in short-yardage. Positively flex-worthy.
Supply: $8
Nicely, rattling. AP can nonetheless hit a speeding lane and embarrass would-be tacklers, even at 35 years previous. He simply arrived in Detroit just a few days in the past, however he is already claimed the highest spot within the Lions’ speeding hierarchy. Peterson produced 114 whole yards on 17 touches on Sunday, averaging a wholesome 6.6 yards per carry. Rookie D’Andre Swift managed to ship a 1-yard first-half landing, however he additionally had a crushing drop on a possible late game-winning rating. Peterson was lots efficient for Washington final season, gaining 1,040 scrimmage yards on 228 touches in a largely depressing offense. He is actually value a flier in Detroit.
Supply: $11
Extra RBs so as to add: Jerick McKinnon (nice to see him again within the recreation, with a rotational position in an awesome speeding offense), Alexander Mattison (gained 80 whole yards on 10 touches in opposition to the Pack), Peyton Barber (brutally inefficient in opposition to Philly, carrying 17 occasions for simply 29 yards, however he stumbled into the end-zone twice), Chase Edmonds (he noticed 5 targets and 6 carries, plus he made a home name in Arizona’s shock win at Levi’s Stadium).
Story continues
Extensive receivers and tight ends to focus on on the wire
Robby Anderson, Carolina Panthers (31%)
A lot for that speaking level about Teddy Bridgewater refusing to take deep pictures…
Carolina put up 30 factors in a loss to the Raiders on Sunday, and Bridgewater wasn’t precisely hyper-conservative. It is just one recreation (in opposition to a sketchy protection), however we will nonetheless really feel a complete lot higher in regards to the Teddy-Robby connection. Anderson completed with 115 receiving yards and a landing on six catches, plus he hauled in a 2-point conversion. He stays one of many league’s most harmful deep threats and game-flow will favor him as a rule. His roster-percentage is curiously low, contemplating his historical past of fantasy usefulness.
Supply: $14
Laviska Shenault Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars (12%)
Shenault entered the NFL as a flexible, high-ceiling prospect coming off an up-and-down collegiate profession at Colorado. He was terrific as a sophomore, scoring six touchdowns as a receiver and 5 as a runner, hauling in 86 balls for 1,011 yards. He took a backward step final season, however there is no denying his upside. We heard the Jaguars have been getting artistic with Shenault in camp, then he made loads of noise within the crew’s opener…
Gardner Minshew’s 19 completions went to 10 totally different receivers on Sunday, so no member of the receiving corps had an enormous day. Shenault actually backed up his preseason hype, nonetheless, and he hardly ever got here off the sphere. The rookie calls for consideration.
Supply: $7
Logan Thomas, Washington F.T. (2%)
Thomas entered the common season with sleeper enchantment following a buzzy camp and he actually did not disappoint within the opener. He caught 4 passes on eight targets in Sunday’s win over the Eagles, with a 6-yard landing included. Not too shabby for a former faculty QB who’s made the swap to tight finish. Loads of targets are up for grabs this season in Washington, because the crew does not actually have a longtime No. 2 receiver behind Terry McLaurin. It is hardly outrageous to think about Thomas ending a wholesome season among the many top-10 at his place in whole possibilities. He is a precedence for fantasy managers who simply misplaced Blake Jarwin to harm.
Supply: $5
Different notable WR/TE choices: Eric Ebron (buzz retains rising about his potential red-zone position), Russell Gage (he noticed a dozen targets within the opener, one of many highest totals within the league), Parris Campbell (one other participant we’ve completely hyped who noticed a wholesome opening week workload), Jalen Reagor (returned from harm and made his presence felt early), Allen Lazard (hauled in all 4 of his targets within the win at Minnesota, with a TD included), Preston Williams (he had a quiet opener, however he noticed seven targets. Additionally, the crew will desperately want him if DeVante Parker’s hamstring harm is important).
Quarterbacks so as to add
Gardner Minshew II, Jacksonville Jaguars (25%)
We knew the setup was going to be pleasant for Minshew in 2020, however I am unsure anybody might have forecast his opening week stat line: 19-for-20, 173 yards, three TDs. He by some means related with 10 totally different receivers on solely 20 makes an attempt. If you happen to’d rostered the Indianapolis protection, trying to stream in opposition to the Jaguars, um … whoops. Gotta take the L on that one. When a quarterback has extra landing passes than incompletions, fantasy managers ought to most likely take an curiosity. Minshew could have a gunslinger aesthetic, however he hasn’t been notably reckless since taking up in Jacksonville; he solely threw six interceptions final season in 470 makes an attempt. His schedule is a present within the weeks forward: at Ten, Mia, at Cin, at Hou, Det. There’s an excellent likelihood Minshew will ship a collection of high quality fantasy performances.
Supply: $4
Additionally addable at QB: Teddy Bridgewater (as a result of it feels as if each week is gonna be a high-scoring affair for Carolina), Mitchell Trubisky (by some means, in a recreation during which he was typically hilariously dangerous, he completed with 242 yards and three TDs. His upcoming schedule is a dream for fantasy functions, for no matter it’s value: NYG, at Atl, Ind).
Protection to think about through the wire
Washington (5%)
Soccer Crew is heading to Arizona in Week 2 for a matchup of undefeated soccer groups. <— That was a enjoyable sentence to write down. Each defenses must be in your radar for streaming functions. Washington’s D/ST occurs to be coming off an enormous fantasy week, having sacked Carson Wentz eight occasions and forcing three takeaways. Chase Younger, predictably, was an issue, a destroyer of game-plans. Washington positive looks as if a crew that is going to specialize within the very issues that feed fantasy scoring.
Supply: $1
Observe the Yahoo fantasy crew on Twitter: Andy Behrens, Dalton Del Don, Matt Harmon, Liz Loza, Scott Pianowski and Tank Williams.

2K Games is getting ready to release the latest entry in the WWE 2K series with WWE 2K20. This seems to be a rather ambitious project which will bring a lot of new features for gamers to enjoy.
MyPlayer & MyCareer
For the first time ever in the franchise, gamers will be able to create and play with a male and female MyPlayer in MyCareer mode.
youtube
Of course, if we’re bringing female characters for MyPlayer, it only means we should be able to have a Mixed Tag. This is coming, too. You’ll be able to play as both superstars, and you’ll team up together in different mixed tag team matches throughout your career.
Expect to go through 18 different chapters in your career, including aroun 100 different matches and interacting with over 40 WWE Superstars from every brand, as well as legends during this game mode.
At A Glance
[su_spoiler title=”MyCareer at a glance” style=”fancy”]
For the first time ever, create both a female and male MyPLAYER and take them through MyCAREER, playing storylines and matches as each character and occasionally teaming together with the all-new Mixed Tag match feature.
Unlock WWE Legends, Career specific Superstar attires, original characters and unique environments like “Hell’s Colosseum” and a special New Day themed arena.
At one point, Red and Tre cross through an interdimensional portal to try to find the Undertaker who hasn’t been seen in years, encountering various surprises along the way.
MyCAREER is fully voiced again, this year featuring performances from nearly over 40 WWE Superstars, NXT Superstars and legends in addition to over 15 original voiced roles. Interact with newly-voiced Superstars such as Ronda Rousey, The New Day, Becky Lynch, Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, The IIconics, Samoa Joe and more.
Track Red and Tre’s career progress with “The List” – as teenagers Red and Tre write down all the goals they’d like to someday achieve, which later becomes their road map to success. Can you cross off their final list item and get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?
At certain points in MyCAREER, the decisions you make affect the matches Red and Tre compete in, who they team with, and possibly even lead to some alternate outcomes. Explore different choices to see what paths they might lead you down.

Custom Matches can now be included in Match Tables, along with new Mixed Tag Matches.
New Championship Match setting in Match Tables can be used to make certain matches a title match.
Main Event matches in Match Tables have been tweaked so that those match types are more likely to occur on the show (Example: Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View).
New rivalry content includes options such as low-intensity enemies making peace after a single Pay-Per-View or low to mid-intensity allies slowly falling out over several weeks instead of a sudden turn.

The Team That Signs Kirk Cousins Should Also Invest In Tight Ends
Kirk Cousins is in a class by himself when it comes to maximizing salary at the quarterback position. The signal-caller is on the eve of signing a deal with what could be the highest average annual price tag in NFL history. Few people — including the former general manager in Washington, where Cousins played for the past six seasons — think he will ever play up to his lofty contract. But no matter who signs the free agent, Cousins’s new team would be silly not to also sign a brand-new tight end. Otherwise, the huge amount of money being spent on Cousins — the Vikings have reportedly offered roughly $90 million over three years — will be going to waste.
Cousins’s recent performance in Washington offers his next employer a clear blueprint for turning him into a truly great player: employ fewer wide receivers and more tight ends. For the three-season period from 2015 through 2017, Cousins was the most efficient quarterback in football when two tight ends were on the field, according to ESPN Stats & Information Group. During that time, Cousins threw 256 passes with exactly two tight ends in the formation and averaged 10.24 yards per attempt. That’s nearly a yard better than the second-best quarterback with two tight ends, Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions (9.37), although Stafford attempted nearly 100 fewer passes. And Cousins beats the NFL quarterback average of 7.76 yards per attempt with two tight ends on the field by nearly 2.5 yards.
Cousins is far less effective in more traditional formations. He averaged nearly three fewer passing yards (7.37) when not equipped with two tight ends in the formation. If you were to prorate Cousins’s two-TE production over a full season, he easily tops Hall-of-Famer Kurt Warner’s record for most yards per attempt in a single season since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger. Without them, he’s 2017 Josh McCown.
Cousins is elite with two tight ends

But some of the teams vying for Cousins’s services don’t have even one tight end who is a receiving threat. Of the teams that are reportedly after Cousins in the free-agent negotiation period that begins Monday — the Broncos, Cardinals, Jets and Vikings — Minnesota seems best positioned to take advantage of Cousins’s talents. The Vikings have a Pro-Bowl tight end in Kyle Rudolph and last season used the two-TE more than the league average (19.2 percent of pass plays, compared with 18.2 for the league). Minnesota lost their offensive coordinator, Pat Shurmur, but replacement John DeFilippo comes from the Eagles, who ranked third in the league in share of pass plays that came with a two-TE set (24.6 percent).
The most notable free-agent tight end this offseason is quite familiar with DeFilippo’s offense and could be a great Cousins complement. Trey Burton of the Eagles is one of the league’s best athletes at the position, registering a best-in-class 40-yard dash, three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle time in his draft year of 2014. Last year, in the two games that starter Zach Ertz missed, Burton scored three touchdowns.
Burton is expected to command top dollar based on how well he projects as a receiver. So pairing him and Cousins would require ample cap room this year and beyond. But he’s not the only free agent available. Others include Jimmy Graham, 31, who led the position with 10 touchdowns last season, and Tyler Eifert, 27, who had 13 scoring grabs in 2015, his last healthy season.
Here’s the thing about these tight ends, though: There’s a case to be made that every team should load up on the position and try to use two tight ends more frequently. Overall, from the start of the 2015 season through 2017, quarterbacks averaged 0.64 more yards per attempt with two TEs than they did otherwise (7.76 vs. 7.12). This suggests a two-TE strategy might be worth a look — even for teams that aren’t paying a quarterback $30 million a year.
