#i'm very pro danny accidentally adopts a whole bunch of talons previous installments
*
The next day, the body was back.
The green was gone from its eyes, but the awareness wasn't; it spent about an hour watching people go around outside Danny's apartment, which was new behavior. None of the corpses that shadowed him had shown any interest in garden-variety humans before. Now it sat at the window and watched families come home from school or head to their afternoon shifts.
That went into Danny's notes.
After that hour, it taught itself to flush the toilet repeatedly, rearranged the contents of Danny's half-assed linen closet (again) and then stood hovering over the safe where Danny had stashed the ectoplasm.
"...Okay," said Danny.
The dead body croaked. It was a new sound, but there was no context for it. Danny just kind of...wrote it down and hoped for the best.
The day after, Danny woke up at a very reasonable ten forty eight in the morning to find stray corpses feeding each other spoonfuls of ectoplasm in the kitchen.
At that point he kind of had to throw out the notes on how much each one was dosed with, because what the fuck.
"Really?!" Danny shouted, spooking the bodies into fleeing behind chairs and doors and back into his closet again. The only one that didn't flee was Danny's ringmaster corpse of the hour, of course. "You really couldn't wait??"
It stuck out a withered black tongue out at the mortician, who was, really, the victim in all of this. A victim to his parents' whims and a victim to the dead people who followed him around all the time.
This was how Danny found out that, when it doubt, the corpses could just tear through solid steel if they were motivated enough. The finger-marks were so deep and so embedded that they actually looked more like rough claws in the metal.
Great.
Danny ordered a new locking cage for the fridge on Prime and darted off to work. One of his regulars was on the table, though, so Danny just ended up doing what he would have at home— sewing up a gash in its neck and reattaching dead fingers back onto dead stumps.
On the third day, in which four of Danny's frequent fliers had learned from the first how to flush the toilet (and therefore raise the water bill immensely) Danny got a ring from a dark voice he (almost) recognized.
"Is he here?"
Danny squinted, jerking the phone further under his ear as he whipped up some scrambled eggs. The dead girl leaning over his shoulder leaned a little closer to watch the egg froth up. "Is who here? Who is this?"
"This is Batman. Is— the body requisitioned from your facility currently at your place of residence?"
Danny fully let go of the whisk. It landed haphazardly in the glass bowl he'd been stirring in. "What on Earth is a Batman?" he asked, incredulous.
"I visited your workplace previously."
Oh! "Yeah, the cop's friend. I remember now." Danny pulled the whisk out of the liquid eggs and held it out to the body. The unusually animate cadaver mostly prodded the whisk wires and paid no attention to him. "No one's here but me, though. Not that it's your business...?"
"And there are no non-living bodies currently in your apartment?"
Danny ignored the flushing noise in the other room. "I don't know, dude. They practically live in the walls at this point. Don't come over unless you have a warrant."
The call ended with a click.
His omelette turned out amazing, by the way. In case you were wondering.
On the fourth day, the ectoplasm was gone, because the corpses had apparently all taught each other how to lockpick the container in the fridge.
"Okay, some of that was meant to be my dinner. No more lotion at the funeral home now, okay? Now you all can be ashy forever. I'm so serious," Danny complained to the only visible dead person in the room.
The dead person held up a cracked egg. It was probably a gesture of peace, but now there was egg on his vinyl flooring to deal with. And. It wasn't exactly all that comforting in the end.
On the fifth day, Danny awoke to the sensation of a hand jamming itself through his neck until it punched into the mattress beneath him.
Fuck.

"Mom," Steve whispered in the inky blackness of his parents' room. "Mom, there's something under my bed."
Patricia Harrington turned over. "Steven, go back to sleep," she murmured.
"I can't." Steve said. "There's a monster."
"No such thing." his mom said, angrier, more awake. "Go to bed now, and if I catch you out of bed again you can forget going to Tommy's this weekend."
Steve nodded and padded back down the hall, pausing at his door then taking a running jump into bed.
The room was silent.
"I know you're here." Steve whispered, making sure all his limbs were tucked safely away under the covers. "You don't scare me."
A couple minutes of quiet, then Steve heard a scraping sound come from under his bed. He squeaked and pulled his blankets up to his nose.
A horrible, raspy laugh came from below him. "I do scare you!" said a voice. "You lied!"
"No-no you don't!" Steve said boldly. He clutched his blanket tighter, then said, "I can't be scared of something I can't see! That's just dumb."
Something dark began to slither across the floor out of the corner of Steve's eye. Oh, I'm gonna regret that, he thought.
The thing began to pull itself up, looming over Steve. It cracked a smile, and sharp white teeth gleamed in the light from his closet.
Steve screamed.
"Shut up!" his dad shouted angrily from downstairs, and Steve clapped a hand over his mouth, eyes flicking between the shadow and the door like he wasn't sure which monster to be more afraid of.
The monster crept toward him, and Steve dug his fingernails into his face, scooting away from the horror. He whimpered, not daring to close his eyes.
Then the monster began to shrink.
It shriveled away, changing color and backing up, until a little boy, about Steve's age, stood in front of him. He had long curly hair and was dressed in a t-shirt that was way too big on him. When he opened his eyes, Steve flinched, because the whites of his eyes simply...weren't there. His eyes were an onyx black.
"Hi," the boy said. "I'm Eddie."
Steve was too stunned to speak, but he did uncover his mouth.
"I'm the monster under your bed!" Eddie said. "I'm supposed to scare you, but, um-" he risked a quick look at the door "-I don't think you need my help for that."
"Why are you supposed to scare me?" Steve asked.
Eddie shrugged. "Dunno. Every kid's got one. It's just how it works. I was made to be your monster, forever!" He sat down on the edge Steve's bed, bumping Steve's shoulder against his. "Weird to be on this side of the bed. No dust bunnies or anything."
Steve giggled, forgetting his fear. "You're fun!"
Eddie grinned at him. "Thank you! None of the other monsters think my jokes are funny."
"So you have to scare me?" Steve asked. "But you're not scary. Not after talking to me."
Eddie paused. "Oh, right. I'm not supposed to talk to you. Um..."
"What if we just say you're scaring me?" Steve asked. "I'll pretend I'm really scared of the monster under my bed, and you pretend you scare me every single night. But really we're hanging out instead of scaring!"
"Ooh, I like that idea!" Eddie struck a dramatic pose. "I'll be the monster under your bed, but I'll be ready to protect you if you need it too!"
Steve stuck out his hand like he saw his dad do for business deals. "Deal?"
Eddie shook it. "Deal."
-
Steve sprinted through the forest, the kids hot on his heels. "There!" he shouted. "Everyone in!"
The kids bolted to the abandoned cabin, and Steve slammed the door shut. "Is there a bed in here?" he called. "A couch? A fridge?"
"Bed's in here!" Will yelled, and Steve followed his voice to the cluttered bedroom, complete with partially-caved-in bedframe. He gingerly took a seat on the mattress, cringing when it crackled. He did not need to know what was on this.
"Eddie?" he called, tapping on the flaky painted wood.
The shitheads crowded in, and Mike murmured. "What the fuck is he doing?"
Steve ignored him. "Eddie, come on, I need your help."
Something tall, dark, and lanky slid out from under the bed, and all the kids jumped back in fright, raising their various weapons. Steve leapt to get in front of them, raising his hands as a shield. "Chill! Calm down, this is Eddie!"
Eddie shrank into his human form, draping himself over Steve. "You had to summon me to the nastiest bed in Indiana? Really, Steve?"
Steve shrugged. "This was the closest one. We need your help, Eds."
"We?" He focused on the Party. "Well, these must be the infamous buttheads." Eddie slid into the shadows and reappeared behind the Party, inspecting them. "Dustin, Mike, Lucas, Will, El, Max, right?" he said, pointing at each one as he said their names.
"What the fuck are you?" Dustin asked.
Suddenly Eddie was under Steve's arm, wrapping a hand around his waist. "I'm Steve's monster under the bed." he said. "I'm just... friendlier with Steve than most of the monsters I work with."
Steve rolled his eyes. "You can tell him you're my boyfriend, they know I'm bi." He kissed Eddie on the cheek.
The kids all broke into gasps, except for Max, who fake gagged. "Don't be gross!" she yelled. "Demogorgon outside, remember?"
"Ah, right." Steve said. "Eds, can you-"
"On it." Eddie kissed Steve. "I'll be back."
The kids watched Eddie melt into shadows, then wheeled on Steve. "Steven Don't-Know-Your-Middle-Name Harrington," Dustin said. "You have a lot of explaining to do."

little me (to my sister) II Alexia Putellas x Putellas!Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
masterlist I word count: 882
a/n: thanks anon for giving us the idea for this story, enjoy 🫶🏻
“Something’s off.”
You looked up in surprise, suddenly torn from your thoughts by Aitanas voice.
She observed you closely through narrowed eyes.
You thought it was funny how she strained to figure out what was wrong.
With an innocent grin you stretched your legs out in front of you and leaned back against the dressing room bench.
I don’t know what you mean, Tana.”
“Something just feels very wrong today.”, she said once again, her gaze still fixed on you.
You were just waiting for her to finally realize it. The white 11 printed on the chest of your warm-up shirt wasn’t really subtle. Everyone knew which Putellas sister this number belonged to.
“More like looks wrong.”, Mapi corrected the midfielder and winked at you.
A few of your teammates had grouped around you, smiling at each other once they saw you wearing your older sisters shirt.
“Hello? Can you stop staring at me?”, you complained playfully.
Vicky flashed you a lazy grin in reply: “Wait until your sister sees it.”
Luckily, your sister had a habit of putting in some extra work in the gym before your actual training so she left the house early that morning, her shirt unattended in her closet.
“She won’t even notice.”, you calmed Vicky with a laugh.
You were wrong about that.
Alexia walked in a few minutes later, a blush on her cheeks and sweat beads on her forehead from her previous workout while she sipped on some isotonic sports drink.
She only took one look at you and immediately yelled: “Is that my shirt?! You little…”
You raised your eyebrows, surprised that she had stopped herself and curious about what insult she had planned on using: “Little what?”
“I’m going to murder you!”, she replied and took a few threatening strides towards you. The familiar upward curve of her mouth telling you that she wasn’t actually mad at you.
Laughing, you lifted your hands in defense: “Don’t! Remember, I’m mums favourite!”
Your sister gasped offendedly: “You’re not even mums third favourite!”
“That’s not true. Mapi, help me!”, you called your friend while your sister cornered you on the bench, blocking the obvious exit with her body.
Mapi shrugged nonchalantly: “I mean… I really thought she was you for a moment, Ale.”
“What?!”, you both said simultaneously, staring at the defender.
You and Alexia did look similar but there was no way that you looked over thirty years old!
Ingrid put a hand to her girlfriends arm, subtly grimacing: “You offended two Putellas at once, that’s a new record, love.”
“But I agree with Mapi. They look so similar.”, Kika chimed in and was immediately rewarded with a glare from your sister in return.
“Are you saying I look old?!”, you asked the Portuguese woman, your lips formed to a pout.
An amused smile appeared on Alexia’s face. “I’ve to admit I’m a bit flattered by the fact that I still look as young as her.”
“I can assure you, you don’t.”, you replied teasingly.
“Rude.”, your older sibling commented, punching you playfully.
“You’re basically twice my age.”, you added grinning.
“Don’t exaggerate.”, she laughed, hands resting on her hips.
“I don’t!”, you insisted. The age gap between her and you were thirteen years, and you turned 17 in June. You were forever your mother’s miracle she hadn’t expected anymore but was glad to have received.
“So, are you going to swap shirts or play with each other’s?”, Aitana interjected curiously.
“We’ll swap shirts. Come on, little one.”, Alexia declared in her captain voice.
“Come and get it if you want.”, you gave her a challenging look.
“Don’t play games with me.”, your sister rolled her eyes in an annoyed manner.
“Or what?”, you stuck your tongue out cheekily before starting to jog away from the blonde.
“Fine! I’ll catch you anyway.”, she yelled smirking.
“Prove it.”, you responded, you stumbled over your feet which was then Alexia caught up with you, her body towering over you.
“I got you now give me my shirt.”, the midfielder demanded slightly out of breath, after she started to tickle you.
“Ale, stop!”, you gasped.
“I’ll when you return what belongs to me.”, the captain said.
“Okay, fine. You won.”, you sighed, swapping her shirt for yours.
“Thank you.”, Alexia smiled satisfied.
“Happy now?”
“Very., your sister confirmed, she paused for a moment when continued beaming, this is your friendly reminder that cooking is on you tonight and no, Olga won’t help you this time.”
“I already gave you your shirt back, you could at least let your girlfriend cook for me.”, you whined.
“No, it’s your turn.”, she shook her head.
“Ugh, fine.”, you groaned.
The training was about to start now, the playing time was officially over, and you wanted to prove Pere that you belonged into the squad not because of your famous surname but because of the talent of your own.
Later in the kitchen Olga noticed you struggling with the recipe you were trying to cook, so she stepped inside with a friendly smile on her lips.
“Don’t worry I’ll help you, Ale is busy with business calls, so she won’t notice.”
“When is she not busy?”, you returned smiling.
“Good point.”, your sisters girlfriend admitted.
Gratefulness was spreading in your chest.

you were freshly graduated from college; you should be spending your last summer as a non working adult having fun with your friends— hell doing an internship for your future company; anything really, anything would be better than this. because instead of doing any of that; you were stuck going to the middle of wherever emptying out your dead grandparents mansion.
“I didn't know the lady.” you tried to complain about it to your parents. “Mommy, this was your parents, why can't you do it?” your mother and her mother; your grandmother, never really got along growing up; your grandmother never approved of your father, so it put a strain on their relationship, which resulted in your mother moving out and moving to the city. She then married your dad and had you a year later.
you met your grandmother; well your grandmother met you, because your eyes were barely open, having been on earth a month when your mom came back home so your grandparents could meet their only grandchild, your mom told you that was the last time you saw your grandparents— they did send christmas presents, and birthday cards with a hefty check in it. “I didn't know anything about her except she was extremely generous when it came to money.”
your grandfather passed when you were five, that was the last time your mother went back, for his funeral. Instead of going into a home, your grandmother chose to stay in the huge home; by herself and live out the rest of her days, which she did; she died in her room, being found by her caretaker in the early morning.
The funeral was small; and you were being nice by saying that— it was only you and your mother; your father didn't bother to show, the lady didn't like him. Why would he bother? After putting her in the ground next to her husband, your mother was ready to put that part of her life to rest finally… that was until you got her will in mail.
“Everything?” your mouth hung open. “She's giving you everything? I thought she hated you?” your mother scoffed. “she didn't really have a choice, she cut all her family off; and she would rather be buried with the money than to give it to a charity.” your mother said. “at least she left you some.” she pointed. “to my granddaughter— she couldn't even remember your name.”
That's how your parents were able to retire early, with the huge settlement of money and new house, they decided to settle down and live out the rest of their days in solitude. “So why can't you do it?” you said, your mother turned to you as seriously as ever. “she died in that house, she was a spiteful woman, the type to find a way to become a ghost just to haunt me just in case I brought your father in the house” she said. “I want you to go up there and clear it of all her things and then we'll be up there in the early fall.”
That's how you found yourself driving up the extra long driveway to the huge mansion; the vines growing up the walls really added to the ghostly aesthetic. “she had a caretaker but not a gardener?” you parked right in front of the house, getting out of the car. “This house is scary.”
“Girl, we're having so much fun!” Your friend, Yeji, yelled into the phone. “really?” you said sarcastically. “I could totally hear you over the blasting music in the background.” you heard her giggle, before she told you to hold on. “Okay I'm alone.” The low music confirmed that. “Did you make it up there safely?”
You settled on a room, it was huge much like the rest of the house, unpacking the clothes you would need for the rest of the summer. “Is the house nice? Does it come with a pool?” You scoffed; “this house was made in the 1600’s , no it doesn't have a pool.” you said. “and it's okay, if you like creepy dim lighting and cold hallways even though it's 84 degrees outside.”
“Yikes.” she said, you nodded. “Yeah, this lady was loaded, but god did she not have any taste.” your face turned up in disgust. “Hopefully my parents will brighten this place up when they get here.”
After talking to yeji a bit, you let her go back to the party; at least one of you could enjoy the summer— meanwhile you had to find someone to eat. You weren't stupid the town was like a 30 minute drive out, so you made sure to pick up enough groceries to last you at least a week on your way here. Looking through the options, you settled on ramen; cause there was no way you were cooking anything else after a 5 hour long drive.
taking your bowl of noodles, making your way back to the room, you pass the many portraits of your mother as a child and a teenager— for your mother and grandmother to never get along, there surely were many; after making it back to your room, sitting the bowl on the nightstand.
Unfortunately there was no wifi, but you had data so that was good; you'd definitely had to change that wifi situation soon though, your mother was just obsessed with the Internet as you, there was no way she was coming here without it. Eating your noodles, scrolling through the stories with envy in your eyes, of all your friends enjoying their summers.
After finishing your food, and making yourself depressed; you decided to just go to bed, and start fresh in the morning— where you actually had to clean out her things.
The next morning you woke up at 11:30 feeling a little better than before, starting your day with a shower since you didn't have one in the morning; stripping yourself of your clothes, stepping into the warm shower, letting the water hit your skin, you let out a sigh of satisfaction; at least the water made you feel better.
after cleaning yourself; getting rid of yesterday, you stepped out of the shower, the foggy mirror in front of you. turning around to turn the water off— you turned around to face the mirror again. “what the fuck.” squinting your eyes, you rubbed them. certainly that wasn't a fucking person in the mirror. You quickly wrapped a towel around your body, wiping the fog off the mirror, your own reflection still there. “Great, not even 24 hours later and I'm already going nuts.”
You got dressed; deciding to finally tour the house— it was beautiful, despite the haunted nature of it; the furniture a bit outdated for your taste, but your parents will love it. you made your way to her bedroom; almost scared to go in— she died in there anyone would be scared. you pushed your worries aside, pushing the door open; walking inside.
The bed had been made after her passing, but everything else was still in the same place according to the caretaker. You started by stripping everything from the bed, throwing the sheets in the trash, emptying all her drawers; your mom said you could keep any jewelry she had, and she'll give the rest away to your cousins on your father's side. you then moved to her closet, separating all the clothes that you were keeping and the ones you were giving away, and finally the ones that you were tossing.
About 2 hours later you were done separating everything, putting the donation boxes in your car to take into town, throwing the clothes in the trash at the end of the long driveway. you kept a lot of things, turns out she kept a lot of clothes and her style wasn't that bad. “I’m gonna need a new suitcase.” you said to yourself.
You scrubbed everything down in her room; per your mothers request. “Yes mommy, I got rid of her ghost.” You rolled your eyes when she called to ask. “Great, is everything else okay?” you hummed. “Well despite the no wifi and being completely alone, yes.” You said. “Well we're still trying to sell here, we've found a realtor.” you let her go on and on, until she'd managed to talk for 2 straight hours— your stomach rumbling being the thing to interrupt the conversation. “Gosh love , have you eaten today?”
“I had some yogurt for breakfast.” you could hear her sigh. “It's 5:30 y/n and all you've eaten was yogurt?” She questioned. “Well I've been busy cleaning up your mothers home.” You said, she laughed. “Thank you, my daughter.” you mocked her. “Seriously honey, get yourself something to eat, I will call again.” you hummed. “And don't leave those clothes in your car, take them to the goodwill.” you nodded. “okay.” you hung up. “Really let's get you something to eat.”
After showering for the nights— luckily your eyes didn't create delusions this time, you settled on ordering take out, luckily someone was willing to bring you a pizza. “Thank you.” You handed the delivery guy the money. “Is this your new house?” he looked up. “My parents.” you said, he handed you the pizza box. “Scary.” was all he said before walking away. “Yeah.” You closed the door.
Taking your pizza back to your room; you almost made it back to your room— when you noticed the door to your grandmother's room was still open. “Hmm?” You were certain you closed it, you went to close it— but something caught your eyes on the dresser. It was a jewelry box. you don't remember putting that there; you don't even remember seeing it before.
You picked up the box, taking it with you to your room; sitting it on the nightstand. You finished your pizza; making an appointment on your phone to have wifi installed. “Sorry grandma, you might've lived in silence, but I need tv.” You finished the last bit of pizza, taking the box to the kitchen, returning back to your room, climbing under the covers; the wooden jewelry box still sitting on the nightstand.
You reached over, grabbing the box; it looked pretty old. You stopped admiring the details on the box; opening it. A thin silver necklace with a red and black pendant sitting in the box; it was the only thing in the box. You picked up the necklace, examining it. The necklace was beautiful, probably the prettiest piece that you took from your grandmother— yes of course you were gonna keep it, you wouldn't dare let your destructive ass cousins destroy something as beautiful as this. “Thank you grandma.”
You sat the box in between your legs, unhooking the necklace, placing it around your neck, snapping it. “Let's see.” you picked the box up, looking into the mirror. “So pretty.” You smiled, closing the box, sitting it back on the nightstand, yawning.
reaching over; you turned the light off; pulling the covers over your body, touching the pendant one last time before you fell into a deep sleep…
So unaware of what you had just done; who you just awakened, what you just invited into your life…

Pollito / barca team ," why are you hiding in the closet" training room/ ground
in the pollito universe with stuck, tiny silver flash, the one where the kids go bowling barça femeni II in hiding
"mierda!" you mumbled under your breath, thumbs flying with gentle taps against your screen as you tried relentlessly to beat the level of candy crush you'd been stuck on all week.
you let out a small scream of surprise as the door to the equipment closet you were hiding out in swung open, flooding the dark with light and causing you to squint and rub at your eyes.
"aye pollito. why are you hiding in the closet?" patri sighed, looking down at you with a raised eyebrow and hands on hips. "i'm not. i have been out of the closet for a year now!" you grinned up at the older girl who snickered and offered you a hand up.
"no i can't, i'm having...quiet time." you faltered trying to think of an excuse which clearly didn't work on the older spaniard. "what did you do now?" pina chimed in, causing you to jump again from your spot on the floor not even having noticed her there as well.
"nothing! ale told me i'm supposed to channel my energy into resting." you rolled your eyes, this lie falling off your tongue a little smoother as both girls gave you a look, shared a look and then decided to leave you to it.
the problems started when a half an hour later you were hungry, currently skipping lunch for your little hide out as you huffed and mulled over your options.
you texted the one person who you knew would come through for you right now without question, perking up a few minutes later when there was a knock on the door and you knocked back, vicky opening it with a tray of food.
"this was so hard to sneak out." the girl sighed shaking her head, sitting down beside you where you scooted across. "compañero i owe you." you exhaled happily, the girl humming and watching in slight disgust as you shoveled in food like it could disappear at a moments notice.
"still haven't beat it?" the forward chuckled pointing to your phone on the floor where candy crush was loaded. "no!" you huffed with a glare, nodding as the girl reached for it with a raised eyebrow. "por favor be my guest!" you mumbled out between bites.
"boo!" you choked on a piece of chicken as the door swung open again, vicky smacking you on the back as it came sailing out of your mouth and landed on jana's shoe. "ew pollito!" the older girl groaned, kicking her foot and sending it flying away as bruna snickered.
"you can't hide in here forever amiga." bruna warned as you motioned for them to go away or close the door, the tiny closet suddenly becoming very cramped as they shuffled inside and sat down, knees tucked to their chest.
"not forever! i have a plan." you smacked away jana's hand where she reached for your jelly cup. "like the same plan you had not to get caught in the first place?" vicky chimed in as you frowned and shoved her, kicking bruna who tried to hide her laugh.
"that was not my fault."
"nothing is ever your fault!" jana rolled her eyes. "this really wasn't! i had a fool proof plan until that burro decided today of all days she was going to arrive early." you grumbled unhappily, all of your hard work and planning having been for nothing.
"so its her fault for ruining the plan you had to mess with her anyway? oye pollito, take some responsibility for once!" bruna sighed with a shake of her head, all four of you jumping in shock as again the door swung open and flooded with light.
"dios mío now i find you all! you left me at the table all alone pendejos." cata swore with a huff, arms crossed over her chest. "and for a secret meeting? for shame!" the goalkeeper tutted as all four of you groaned and complained there wasn't room when she closed the door and flopped down right in the middle.
"so what are we discussing?" cata asked, her knees digging into your sides as you shuffled around unable to find a reprise. "how nothing is ever pollitos fault." jana rolled her eyes again as you mocked her and tossed a carrot stick at her head, cata's hand shooting up to catch it mid air.
"not nothing! just this mornings...incident." you huffed, wincing at the obnoxious crunch of cata chomping down on the carrot right by your ear. "oh that? sí i will admit i am shocked you are still alive." cata mused with another obnoxious crunch.
"she's got the alexia shield." three voices sung out in unison as you pulled a face.
"first. thats super creepy do not all talk at the same two. second; sí she won't touch me when ale is around. but she has captains meetings all afternoon now until media which is why-"
"-you're hiding." "what did i say about all speaking at once!"
"i just have to survive another..." you paused to tap cata's watch. "...twenty minutes. then we have media and she's not going to kill me with witnesses around!" you beamed happily at your newfound plan, not missing the looks of uncertainty flashed around by your friends.
"what!" "nothing nothing, i'm sure that will work. and then tomorrow?" jana questioned as you faltered. "i pray she gets amnesia and forgets all about it?" you smiled hopefully as vicky shook her head and patted your shoulder.
"i will miss you amiga...can i have your nintendo switch?" "vicky!"
"well well well." you all jumped again as the door swung open, the face you'd been avoiding glaring down at you. "the rest of you have five seconds to haul culo out of this closet or you suffer as well." the girl warned.
"traitors!" you yelled after the four girls who fell over one another trying to run away, bruna and cata picking up vicky who tripped, carrying her away by the arms in a hurry unable to get away fast enough.
"hola mapi, did you do something new with your hair? looks very good today." you smiled as sweetly as you could manage, the defenders jaw clenching.
"purple is your colour?" you tried again with a nervous laugh, having been caught red handed with purple dye on your hands this morning after dumping it in mapi's shampoo, the girl having arrived early and caught you, but not having put two and two together until she showered after training.
"look we can talk about this we can-" you started to beg as the girl stepped inside and started to close the door. "oh sí sí sí we're going to talk pollito...but after i shave one of your eyebrows off." she grinned wickedly holding up a razor as your eyes widened.
"ALEXIA!"

summary: in which moving in together is a herculean task and jungkook teaches you how to fold his underwear.
> est. relationship, fluff, angst lowkey / wc: 3.2k
> warnings: mention of h!ckeys and or/l s/x (f. receiving), allusion to c*ckwarming and s/x
> in which masterlist!
note: who else will drunkenly research about men’s underwear and scroll through calvin klein’s website at 2am to write this for shit and giggles and self-indulgence if not art <3 as always i love hearing your thoughts thru reblogs/comments/asks !! 🥺
“pssst.”
“oh shit-”
jungkook looks up to find you standing by the doorframe of the walk-in closet, and the view instantly weaves a stupidly whipped grin on his handsome face. your hair is messy from sleep; your eyes are still half-lidded; and your lips are wrapped around the straw of the red water tumbler you’re clutching in your hands.
“baby! you scared me! what are you doing out of bed?”
“my bed escaped from me.” you mumble, padding across the wooden floor until you reach him. he watches in bewilderment as you fall to your knees and pull his arms out of your way. muscular body pliant underneath your dainty touches, he allows you to move him as you like.
“ahhh-” he produces a noise of enlightenment as you find a comfortable position between his legs, lying down across his lap. he’s forced to support the weight of your torso with his arm beneath your upper back, hand curled around your shoulder. “am i the bed?”
“mhmm, boo! i caught you. you’re stuck with me forever.” you go limp in his arms and dramatically press the back of your hand on your forehead like a damsel in distress, which elicits a chuckle from your boyfriend.
he bends down to pepper kisses along your jaw and exposed neck, plush lips brushing against the traces of love bites that blossomed on your skin this afternoon, courtesy of his friskiness. having always been extra sensitive there, the ticklish sensation makes you squirm. “that’s exactly what i signed up for.”
“oh?” you raise an eyebrow challengingly. “sure. let’s see if you can still say the same thing… three months from now.”
your fingers comb through his silky locks, taking a fistful and lightly yanking to pull him off you.
“as you were.”
a grunt tumbles out of his mouth when you change positions carelessly. in the end, you settle with straddling him, legs wrapped around his waist and arms around his neck, where you nuzzle your face and almost purr like a kitten due to the warmth that you’ve missed in his absence.
the process of transforming an apartment to a home together has been… exhausting, to say the least. you’ve had most of the furniture installed before you started bringing in your personal belongings, but how can a space feel so empty and so crowded at the same time? too many boxes, too many bags, too many things left to buy. the line between what’s yours and what’s his is blurring in your eyes, and this is only the beginning.
you thought dealing with jungkook’s self-admitted laziness would frustrate you at some point, well… which it did. however, it turns out that it is precisely what you need in this type of situation. yesterday morning, he successfully seduced you into letting him eat you out on the kitchen island. you reached the height of your pleasure twice in a row, nearly delirious as he was lost in untamed lust and moaned about how you taste, distracting you from planning out what goes in which kitchen cabinet based on dimensions and convenience. last night, he had to drag you back to bed at 5am because you ended up organizing your bookshelf for two hours instead of only getting a refill of water like you claimed.
“what are you even looking for?!” jungkook exclaims with a hand over his naked waist, clad only in his boxers, as he watches you rummage through four boxes in search for something.
“the easel!” you whimper, your calves breaking your fall as you slump back on the floor in despair.
“easel?” he squats down infront of a box beside you, scratching his cheek as his puffy and sleepy eyes scan the other boxes. “i don’t think an easel would’ve fit in here, baby.”
“it’s a mini one. the one i use to display my favorite book.” you pout to point at it standing in the second level of the shelf. he recognizes it as the limited edition book he bought you last year, and the flashbacks of him standing in line for hours to get it signed by the author are inescapable.
if hearing you say that it’s your favorite makes jungkook so ecstatic that he wants to break down into tears, he doesn’t show it. instead, he nonchalantly throws you over his shoulder, making a beeline to the bedroom. he yelps when you angrily pound at his back with balled fists.
“ugh, i hate you! put me down!”
he clicks his tongue. “bad!” he lightheartedly chides you, smacking your ass. “i’m cuffing you to myself! do you have any idea what time it is? you have class in three hours!”
“but, babe, i don’t want to attend!” you cry out, slumping as you grudgingly yield. “why do you have to be so strong?! stop lifting weights for fuck’s sake!”
at the time, you meant it when you said that you want to take the moving duties slowly since you have all the time in the world but… you can’t stand the clutter and disorganization for the life of you. at the same time, it pumps your veins with thrill, having an empty space and being responsible to breathe life into it with jungkook. out of all the life-altering decisions you had to make with your still developing brain, this is the biggest gamble yet.
you don’t know if you’re blinded by love, putting your trust in jungkook when he said that he wanted to build a life with you; or if it’s arrogance, having the trust in your ability to stand on your own feet again incase a match is thrown in a puddle of fuel on the floor. the latter is more painful to think about, quite frankly. just because you can, doesn’t mean that you want to. you have to. you have to. with bruised knees from praying for a little more time, you have to. the earth doesn’t stop orbiting the sun when your house burns down.
either way, it’s too late to succumb to your inner monologue. the stuffed toys you own, including ones you’ve dearly loved since childhood, are scattered across the living room. the journal you’ve been sadly neglecting for the past two weeks is just freely lying on your personal study space. you’re here, safe in his arms, and if there’s one thing you’ll always believe in, it’s this. and you intend to make the most out of each day the universe allows you the right to be here.
“you can fall asleep like this? while i keep moving?” he whispers, wide palm soothingly running up and down the expanse of your back.
only if it’s you, you say in the back of your mind. “you can see for yourself.”
“psh. always gotta keep me on my toes, don’t you?” he smooches your cheek, and then once more, lingering and refusing to part away. you feel his lips curling up against your skin.
jungkook reaches for the tumbler you left behind on the floor, capturing the straw between his lips and plentily sipping until he deems his thirst quenched. he sets it aside afterwards, returning his attention to the laundry basket he purposely laid on the floor so he can easily reach inside. he’s been happily working hard on the laundry after you both agreed to wash the clothes you haven’t worn in quite some time to keep your closet clean and fresh.
a little hiccup though.
quickly and unsurprisingly, you ran out of hangers between his long-sleeves and yours alone. therefore, he’s solely focusing on the to-be-folded for tonight, which mostly consists of shorts, casual pants, underwear, and socks.
he inserts his arm in the laundry basket to push out the articles of clothing closer to the edge, grabbing the nearest thing and proceeding to neatly fold it over his outstretched legs. his white sweatpants lands on top of its designated pile, and then the same goes for your tennis skirt, as well as his ripped jeans, and everything else after that.
jungkook being jungkook, singing comes naturally to him after breathing and more than blinking. he hums, chest vibrating against yours as he does so, occasionally singing the lyrics in between because he means them. a tattooed arm protectively wraps around you to keep you glued to his body each time he leans forward. his careful movements, along with his mellifluous voice, fool your senses into believing that you’re being carried out by the ocean waves to the shore of dreamland.
your boyfriend freezes when one of your arm slides down his shoulder, an irrefutable evidence that you’ve fallen asleep again. you finally tired yourself out, he breathes out a sigh of relief. he cups the back of your head as support, eyes shaping into crescent moons as he giggles as quietly as he can after seeing your face.
“so fucking cute.” he muses, rewarding your cheek with another kiss before securely tucking you back into his embrace.
he carries on with his task to allow you to dive further into unconsciousness. he spends the next fifteen minutes folding the boxers that were still stuck inside one of his suitcases, patiently operating with only an arm. his tattooed one is still preoccupied with maintaining a protective embrace around you. shortly after, he decides that it’s time for you to go back to bed.
“there we go.” he says quietly to himself as he succeeds to stand on his feet, carrying you with his hands hooked around your bare thighs. you unconsciously tighten your hold around his neck and release a deep sigh of contentment in your sleep.
he kicks the door open, walking with light, deliberate steps across the wooden floor. he climbs on the bed, knees sinking in the mattress as he gently lays you down. and there’s an inexplicable emotion stirring in his chest as he covers you with the blanket, accompanied by the epiphany that he is doing this at 2am not because time has arrived to daunt him and he needs to leave your bed to go home. not anymore. whatever this is, it feels so fucking good. oh my god, he looks forward to spending the rest of his life feeling you breathe next to him, getting lost in how peaceful you look asleep when he randomly wakes up in the middle of the night.
he tenderly squeezes your arms as he leans down to plant a goodnight kiss on your velvet lips, sweet and loving. slowly, and with the smallest movements possible, he gets out of the bed to return to the closet.
“love, you’re not sleeping yet?” your tiny voice barely reaches his ears but it pinches his heart, even more painfully when he sees that your hand only managed to seize three of his longest fingers to stop him from walking away.
he sits down beside you, intertwining his fingers with yours. “i will in a bit, baby. i only have the rest of my underwear left to put away.”
you blink at him hazily, silent as you digest his words in your clouded mind. “you’re folding them, too?”
“of course.”
and with that confirmation, you eagerly inch closer to him. “teach me.”
“huh?” his forehead creases, eyebrows knitting in a state of confusion.
“teach me.” you repeat yourself, bordering on a whine.
“how to fold my underwear?”
you innocently nod your head as a reply.
“why?” he asks, an amused smile tugging at the corners of his mouth because of your unusual request. but then again, he can’t say he’s much that surprised. it’s such a you thing to do.
“i can’t?” your lips form an adorably small pout, and you sniffle as your eyes water with unshed tears of drowsiness. “but you’re my boyfriend.”
fuck fuck fuck, he curses inside his head. his heart flips and drops to his stomach. holy shit, yes he is. it’s infuriating, how it requires you little to no effort to have him wrapped around your finger. the endearing sight automatically tugs at his heartstrings, urging him to cradle your soft cheeks in between his large palms.
“i’m just curious.” he reassures you with a chuckle, leaning down to press one more sweet kiss to your lips.
“we do chores together…” you trail off, nose scrunching when his brushes yours. you smile sheepishly. you’re relishing in the mere inches between you — how you can see that his pupils are evidently dilated, his brown doe eyes appearing rounder and bigger than they already are. “so i just want to learn how to do it right.”
you swiftly throw aside the blanket enveloping you when he voices out his permission with an “it’s so easy!”, cheerfully jumping off the bed. captivated by your unique charm, jungkook allows himself to be dragged away as a breathing, walking picture of pure adoration.
he finds himself sitting on the same spot on the floor, back comfortably resting on the cabinets now that you’re beside him instead of on him. your drooping eyes follow the every movement of his dexterous hands as he folds a calvin klein trunk on his lap, black with a white waistband. wearing an orange beanie of his you found stuck underneath the laundry basket, you obediently bounce your head as he earnestly demonstrates it with instructions.
“so you take this side and fold it over to the middle, and then! you do the same with the other one, so they’re folded equally like this.”
he briefly picks it up to show it to you from rim of the waistband, the two parts stacked and perfectly aligned.
“after that, you take the bottom and roll it over like… halfway? whatever, i just kind of do it by feel- and the final step… so you also fold the waistband here so you can tuck the rolled up part inside. it ends up looking this neat and compact, see?”
your gaze only flickers at the finished product, having seen what it looks like about a thousand times in his backpacks and luggages. “so these are called trunks… and those are called boxers?”
your boyfriend follows the direction your index finger is pointing at, revealing a pile of folded boxers sitting inside of his opened suitcase. he winces with his full set of teeth before he cracks up in laughter, the genuine curiosity you radiate is making his brain overflow with love and happy chemicals.
“right! those are more comfortable and breathable so i wear them at home, while trunks provide more support for when i need it, you know?”
“snug fit or loose fit this, boxers or boxer briefs that. you strip them off all the time to put your dick in me anyway.” you scoff, picking up another calvin klein creation from the laundry basket immediately afterwards.
a string of ditzy giggles slip past your lips. the light blue trunk was standing out among the neutral colors like a firefly in the forest, practically begging to be chosen as your first piece of work.
“i’ll do this one! you wore it yesterday. i love the color.”
his lips part open in surprise at your lewd and unfiltered response, a hand flying to his face to conceal the rosy shade that has begun to tint his flushed honey skin, many earrings collectively swinging and belly aching as he chortles. it’s embarrassing, really, how he still blushes despite having done countless sinful things with you. can you really blame him for being incapable of keeping his hands to himself when he’s so helplessly and hopelessly attracted to you?
he clears his throat, crossing his legs and moving to his side so he’s facing you. “go on then.”
you flap it against the air to straighten out the fabric, placing it over your thighs and meticulously following your boyfriend’s instructions step-by-step. you’re quiet as you commit yourself to the chore, floating in your little bubble of tranquility and concentration.
and jungkook is intently watching you with as much self-control he can muster. the urge to grab your face and kiss you senselessly is palpable, wrapping itself around his limbs like vines that have a life of their own, desperate to dip into the sun for a taste. they say distance makes the heart grow fonder, and he can attest to that to a certain degree… but dear god, its lack thereof?
there’s no sensible reason why the both of you should be spending your late nights in your new apartment doing stuff like this when you have an entire 55-inch television set up on the floor because you haven’t found the time and energy to attach it to the bedroom wall yet… and not to mention that jungkook had to write more batteries all types of batteries, tongs, and curtains as CURTAINS!!! in your little notebook of to-buy checklists because somehow, they never crossed either of your minds the last two times you went shopping for your remaining home essentials. his new gaming chair arrived this afternoon and he has zero clue where he will insert assembly time into his busy schedule. one of these days, you’re also bound to discover the plant namjoon left as a gift three days ago. he placed it at the balcony, and it’s only surviving due to the fact that it’s been a relatively rainy month.
although, that’s precisely what makes this moment so priceless and so grounding. you smoothly finish the challenge and sing “ta-da!” with a beam that causes your eyes to twinkle with a tiny sense of achievement despite your apparent exhaustion.
“oh?! looks perfect. good job, baby. goob job.” he praises you with a grin, affectionately stroking your hair. “let’s work together so we can go to sleep.”
his thoughtful words and action make you keen, coaxing the giddiness in you to bubble over. you playfully nudge his side as you haul the laundry basket closer. “i want to play. let’s see who can fold the most in a minute!”
“play?” his shoulders deflate as he sighs, battery running low.
“no?” your lips pucker up in dismay. “too tired, love?”
his tongue pokes the inside of his cheek as he gives it some consideration. he shrugs. “what’s in it for me?”
oh, damn it.
“the winner also automatically wins the light fixture debate?”
in which you’re referring to your month-long dispute over which color of the cloud light you should purchase for your shared bedroom. he insists on the white cloud that has the white light because it looks like a thundercloud, and on the other hand, you’re fighting for the pink cloud with the yellow light because it looks like the sunrise or the sunset depending on its saturation and brightness.
“alright!” he blurts out, a surge of energy kickstarting his system. he snatches his phone, which he left in one of the empty shelves near him. “baby wants to play a dangerous game, huh? the stakes are incredibly high! too high! are you ready? to lose?”
your mood sours when he begins using his variety show hosting voice, confidence dwindling but determination fueled and burning brighter now that he’s in higher spirits.
you roll your eyes. “yeah, sure. ready to lose the white variation in my cart, bro.”
he smirks mischievously, his childish and devilish laughter echoing in the closet. “we’ll start the timer! in three…! one- go!”
“freeze, you cheater! i wasn’t ready! put that shit down!”

Strange love
Pairing: Nate Jacob’s x female reader
Warnings: choking angst a bit of fluff near the end cursing
Authors note: thank you to my wonderful wonderful girlfriend @asshlyyyy for the banner
Tumblr media
you were at some stupid party you´re friend maddie dragged you to. and honestly? you were so over it already. you weren't the type for parties, a lot of people actually wondered why you and maddie were friends.
nate fuckin jacobs you fucking hated his guts he was ripped in every edge but you were ought to admit, he was a fucking master piece that wasn´t even why you hated him. he bullied you or well it was more like teasing. He called you ¨monroe¨ because your plan was to move away and become some big Hollywood star. honestly it almost seemed like he was jealous because he on the other hand. was gonna be stuck in this fucking town forever,
you walked to the kitchen and sigh softly, speaking of the fucking devil there he was in all his glory. he was wearing a white shirt, with a black button up and black jeans. you quickly looked away and grabbed yourself and maddie a drink. before the devil could spot you, to be fair you didn't feel like dealing with nate to be very honest you never felt like dealing with nate.
but before you could even walk out of the damn kitchen. you felt someone grab your wrist with a very strong grip. you just knew it was him, ¨fucking hell¨ you muttered to yourself. and turned around ¨Hello nate¨ you said looking up at the 6´5 man. who even is 6 fucking 5 it feels unncessary to be that tall, ¨nice outfit found it in you´re grandma her closet?¨ he chuckled sinisterly.
You rolled your eyes and was about to speak up but he put his finger against your lips preventing you from speaking. “Uh-uh-uh why are you here?” He spat as if he had an issue with you and not his ex girlfriend who was grinding on some random dude his dick.
¨because if you are here maddie is here¨ he muttered grabbing your jaw kinda harsh. ¨she is now what is it to you.¨ you said pushing him off ¨it's a party Nate people are gonna be there. get.over.it¨ you muttered and walked away. downing both drinks you sat down. next to rue she looked over at you ¨didn't think i'd see you here¨. she chuckled which made you laugh.
¨honestly neither did i, but oh well what can i say i´m a fucking people pleaser¨. you laughed as you leaned you´re head back on the couch. little did you know nate was watching your every fucking move. he wanted you hell he needed you. he wanted to make you laugh, but at the same time he also wanted to hurt you and see you cry.
an hour or so passed and you were still strung out on the couch talking with rue. ¨That's the beauty of a secret you know you're supposed to keep it¨ you laughed. until you were interrupted by no one other than Nate Jacobs himself. ¨get up y/n¨ he spat, you looked a bit confused and shook your head. ¨no i´m not getting up?¨ you spat through your own theeth.
¨i said get the fuck up before i fucking help you¨ he almost yelled. you shook your head once more brushing him off and going back to youŕ conversation. This is when Nate decided he had enough of your little attitude and picked you up, as he threw you over his shoulder. you started to hit his back. ¨put me the fuck down nate this isn´t funny!¨ you yelled at him. but he just seemed to ignore you as he walked into the upstairs bathroom.
he placed you on the sink and grabbed your jaw kissing you. you kissed back moaning softly into his mouth, ¨nate not h-¨ you tried to whisper. in between the kiss but nate just ignored you as he started to assault your neck, ¨why the fuck are you wearing this skirt? do you not see the way people are looking at MY girl¨ he muttered against your neck softly biting it.
¨i´m not your fucking girl nate maddie is and maddie will always be, the thing that happened between us was once, ONE FUCKING TIME¨ you said tearing up. this is what he wanted right? he didn´t fucking care about you, you were a replacement until he got back together with maddie.
¨don´t fucking say that y/n¨ he said grabbing your neck and choking you slightly as he pushed your back against the wall. you groaned ¨the truth nate? one day you hate my fucking guts and the other your madly in fucking love with me.¨ you muttered and it looked like he was about to open his mouth again but then you spoke.
¨ I can see it from the way you're looking at me, you don't even think i'm worth your time, you are so offended that I follow all the rules except for yours that. You don't care about the person that I might be but I am so much more than you can see i´ve had enough you hear me, ENOUGH I'M DONE¨ you said and pushed him off you walking out of the bathroom. you basically ran down the stairs and out of the house as you ignored Nate calling your name.
you had enough of this, honestly you had enough of life itself. you were sick and tired of it. but you couldn't just leave the people you love behind could you..? you sighed as you got home. Once again you were home alone but you didn't mind. you got changed into more comfortable clothes as you heard repeated. knocks on your front door you sighed knowing exactly who it was.
you made your way downstairs and opened your front door. ¨nate i really don-¨ you sighed crossing your arms as nate let himself in. ¨no your gonna sit down on the fucking couch and listen to me for once.” he muttered, closing the door and looking at you, you sighed and sat on the couch thinking to yourself ¨this must be good¨.
nate looked at you ¨don´t you fucking get it y/n, i´m fucking in love with you.. you´re all i think about sure i'll admit it.. in the beginning i was using you to get over maddie. but that changed that changed the minute you ended up in the fucking hospital because you decided to slit your goddamn wrist.¨ he yelled. you were surprised he even cared at all… you didn't think it affected anyone that much let alone him.
¨please just give me a chance¨ he spoke softly now sitting next to you, ¨i'm not saying it's gonna be perfect or anything but… i want you and only you¨ he said and caressed your cheek leaning in pressing his lips to yours. and you gave in, the kiss was rough but sweet at the same time. it's like he craved you just as bad as you craved him. ÿou crawled onto his lap and nodded your head ¨okay one chance don't fuck it up¨ you muttered against his lips pulling away slightly.
he smiled softly kissing you more gently this time and smiled. when he pulled away you yawned, hinting it was time for bed. He chuckled softly and got up kissing your head as he carried you to your room. He took his shoes off and his jeans, leaving him in boxers and his shirt.
he pulled you closer kissing your cheek, ¨goodnight y/n¨ he whispered and you smiled already half asleep ¨goodnight nate¨.
you said and soon you both drifted off to sleep you knew it wasnt gonna be a easy relationship but it was definitely gonna be worth it.

Milo(Lucian) X Reader: I see red
Tumblr media
Watched Morbius and of course i went and fell for the villan
Warnings: Smut, blowjob, handjob, dirty talk, cum eating, face fucking, blood drinking(he is a vampire), insecurity.
Word Count: 2,1K
You’d always loved Milo. Even though you knew you didn’t have forever with him your heart couldn’t help but fall for the man. Milo hadn’t been handed the best cards, he wasn’t a lucky man but at least he had Morbius. Well he used to have Morbius. As the years had passed Milo and Morbius had grown apart. They were still good friends and Milo knew he could count on Morbius for anything but the more the doctor stayed at the lab the farther away it seemed their meetings would be. Milo blamed Martine for the distance. He wasn’t entirely wrong. The two doctors seemed to be growing more and more intimate as the days passed. You wondered if Martine had told Morbius about how she felt. It wasn't an easy task, you knew that all too well.
Milo didn’t know about your love for him. You'd never talked to him about how you felt. There was never a good time for that type of conversation. When he wasn’t busy handling something for Morbius he was stuck in bed due to his sickness. Besides you weren’t certain he’d believe you anyway. Milo had this idea, a really stupid one, that he wasn’t attractive. Girls didn’t usually hit on him when he went out and he’d somehow linked that to his appearance.
“No one wants to be with a sick man.”
He’d blurted that out one night on your walk. You’d almost told him how you felt but the nerves had gotten the best of you. You didn't want him to think you pitied him because you didn't. You loved him like this and you’d love him even if he was different. Not that you’d ever expect him to change. Not in a drastic way anyway.
You made your way through the hall going towards the kitchen. You placed the bags from the market on the counter as you called out Milo's name.
“They didn’t have burger patties so I had to settle for ground beef. Okay?”
No answer. You frowned at the silence, your eyes scanning the room for signs that Milo was home. Your gaze fell onto his cane on the floor. Milo couldn’t leave the house without his cane which meant he was here. But where exactly was he?
You heard a thumping sound above you, leaning your head back to look at the ceiling. The sound was coming from Milo's room. You walked over to the elevator pushing the button to the second floor.  You tapped your foot against the metal floor, fingers moving on your thighs as you waited for the doors to open. The second they did the sound of music became louder. You moved towards Milos' room knocking at the door before entering. Light streamed into the bedroom from the closet. What in the world was he doing?
“Milo what’s with the….”
Your body froze at the closet door, eyes widening at the sight before you. You watched Milo dance around with his eyes closed. Your eyes scanned his body, curiosity filling your mind as you realized the way Milo looked. He looked healthy. Truly healthy. Not “on a good day” sort of healthy. Running a marathon kind of healthy. Where did all those muscles come from?
Milo opened his eyes to look at himself in the mirror but instead his gaze fell on your reflection. Your mouth was slightly parted and there was this unusual look in your eyes. He felt an urge to cover his body, his subconscious telling him to hide himself from you. But then he caught the way your eyes moved over his body. You liked it. You liked the way he looked. The moment he realized that his chest puffed up drawing more attention to his chiseled body and causing your breath to speed up. Milo called out your name, moving slowly towards you. You watched him make his way to you with ease.
“Milo your leg.”
“Neat isn't it?”
He gave a small spin stopping a few steps away from you. Your eyes raked over his body, stopping on the smirk on his face.
“What’s wrong darling? Don’t like my new look?”
“I always liked the way you look.”
The words tumbled out of your lips before you could stop them causing you to place a hand over your mouth as Milo’s eyebrows quirked up.
“Is that so?”
The truth is Milo had always felt something for you but he never acted on it. He never thought you saw him as anything other than the sick teeanger you’d met years ago. But now, watching the way your breath sped up the closer he got to you and the way your tongue peaked out to wet your lips every once in a while, he could tell he’d been wrong.
“How is this possible? I mean how did you-”
“Shh darling.”
Milo placed a hand on your cheek moving some stray hairs behind your years.
“How doesn't matter now. The “what”  is far more important?”
“What do you mean?”
“I haven't felt this strong…well…ever. So I'm curious as to what I can do. If you know what I mean.”
You swallowed dry as Milo leaned his face closer to you, his lips almost touching yours.
“And I was wondering….”
“Yeah?”
“If you wanted to help me find out?”
“Fuck yes.”
You wrapped your arms around Milos neck pulling him down into a passionate kiss. His hands snaked down your body settling on your ass with a harsh squeeze. You groaned into his mouth, your legs moving up to wrap themselves around Milos waist. He tugged you up with ease. Your hips brushed against his hard on causing him to let out a moan.
“Where do you want me to fuck you darling here or in my bed?”
“Bed please.”
“Such a polite thing ei?”
Milo kicked open the doors making his way to his bed. You let out a small gasp when he threw you on the bed, the mattress bouncing slightly.  You pushed yourself onto your elbows watching as Milo moved to unbuckle his pants.
“Let me.”
The man glanced down at you with a grin which you returned. You shuffled yourself to the edge of the bed accepting Milos extended hand. Once you’d gotten to your feet you moved out of the way forcing Milo to turn around and take your place. He followed your directions, taking a seat at the edge of the bed and spreading his legs slightly. You got on your knees before him, your hands working on his belt. You reached into his pants cupping his dick in your hand for a moment before pulling down his underwear. His dick sprung up and you drooled at the sight. Milos slender frame had given you the impression he would have a slim cock but you had been wrong. His dick was thick and long. You glanced up at Milo being greeted with a worried look.
“Milo, I can't believe you’ve been hiding this beauty from me.”
“You like it? It’s not too-uh-small or anything.”
You let out a laugh. Bless this man.
“It’s perfect.”
Before Milo could retaliate you wrapped your mouth around his dick. Milo’s hands went straight to your head gripping your hair to ground himself.
“Ah fuck-ugh-good fucking girl…shit.”
“That good huh?”
“Don’t know how long I've wanted you darling.”
“Yeah? Should have told me. I’ve been touching myself to the thought of you for the past four years.”
“Good lord-ugh!”
You opened your mouth as much as you could, taking Milos dick as deep as possible as you told your tongue around his shaft.
“I wanted to-uhm-fuck you at that-fuck-stupid benefit party.”
You’d never taken Milo for a talker during sex but you didn't mind it. You hummed around his dick signalling to him you were listening and causing him to buck his hips.
“You wore that fucking black dress…ah ugh…could see every fucking curve.”
You remembered the dress he was talking about.  You still had it in your closet. You’d have to remember to wear it again. You removed your lips from Milos dick replacing them with your hands.
“If you’d told me I would have let you. There was a wonderful little counter in the bathroom we could have used.”
“Dirty girl.”
“Like you’re any better.”
“Oh you have no idea.”
There was a sombre tone in Milo's voice but you chose to ignore it. Your hands moved faster against Milos dick making him moans grow louder. You could tell he was close to cumming so you decided to take him in your mouth once again. After one particular suck Milo called out your name and you felt his seed spilling down your throat. You removed your lips from his dick swallowing before sticking your tongue out proudly to show Milo what you did.
“You’re going to be the death of me darling.”
He wiped the spit from the corner of your mouth before leaning down to capture your lips in his.
“You turn, pretty girl.”
You and Milo had been going at it for hours. His stamina seemed to be everlasting. Your hands latch onto Milos back as he thrusts into you, his arms caging you beneath his body. He's going at a brutal speed, making your eyes roll to the back of your head as your body prepares for another orgasm. You are so close but before you reach your high Milos thrusts start to sputter. You open your eyes to look at him expecting him to look at you with a teasing grin or a cocky smirk but he doesn’t. In fact his eyes don’t meet yours.
“Milo?”
“Shit…i”
“What is it?”
“Darling i…fuck not now.”
“Milo what is it? Talk to me.”
Milo raises his head to look at you and you're startled by the way he looks. The healthy glow he’s had up until now is completely gone. He looks like he usually does: pale and tired. You can feel Milos leg shaking next to yours.
“I need i…”
“Tell me. Lucian, tell me what you need dear.”
“Blood.”
“What?”
“I need blood.”
You thought you’d heard him wrong but the way his face twisted when he repeated the word shows you you’d understood correctly. You should have freaked out. That would have been the correct response. But when it came to Milo you never seemed to have a clear head. Milo's leg gave out beneath him causing his body to fall into you, his lips touching your neck. You felt him open his mouth, his tongue lapping over your vein before closing it abruptly
“No. Not her.”
“Lucian…”
“It’s okay, I would never hurt you.”
“I know.”
You stayed silent for a movement trying to make up your mind.
“Take mine.”
“What?”
“My blood. Take my blood.”
Milo's body begged him to listen to you but his mind stopped him from taking action. If he lost control he’d suck you dry and he couldn’t deal with that risk. Not when you meant so much to him.
“I’m not in control i could hurt-
“No you won’t. You never would.”
Milo raised his head to look into your eyes seeing the certainty in them. You trusted him. You truly did.
“Take what you need. It’s alright. I’ll be fine.”
Milo hesitated for a moment before leaning down so that his mouth was on your neck. He could hear your heart beating and could feel every twinge of your muscles. Your perfume was strong against his nostrils but the smell went away as soon as his teeth pierced into your skin. You let out a yelp, your nails latching onto Milo’s back as he sucked your neck. You could feel the blood leaving your body, the feeling making you dizzy.
Your blood was the best thing Milo had tasted in his entire life. It tasted exactly like he imagined you would: sweet and silky. He lost himself in the pleasure, his hips rutting against you as his strength returned to him. You called out his name forcing him to detach himself from your neck. This time when your eyes fell onto his face the healthy glow was present once again. Your neck felt tender and your body had gone slightly limp but you forgot all about it once Milo started thrusting against you at a brutal pace once more. Your toes curled and your eyes rolled into the back of your head. You came with a shout of Milo's name. He followed short after, spilling his seed into your cunt.
You knew something wasn’t right, normal people don’t drink blood and get strong. But that was a problem for later. Right now you had to focus on getting your body to come back to earth.

“Do you remember the last time I went to a frat party,” Dalton asked, head tilted up to look at Chris. She looked down at him, pursing her lips in annoyance.
“That was literally months ago and since then you haven’t seen a dead person once.”
“She has a point,” you offered. You were sitting on Dalton’s desk, trying to peer pressure him into going to a stupid party. He had been far too cautious since his incident and it was about time he started to go out more. Chris found a flier laying around and declared that the three of you were going to go even if she had to drag you guys there.
“You’re supposed to be on my side.”
“I am on your side,” you said. “This is your side. You just don’t know it yet.” He rolled his eyes and looked between the two of you. He had never been sure how he ended up friends with the two of you. Usually he was grateful for it, knowing he wasn’t alone out here. Moments like these he wondered how worth it was, even when he glanced at you and his eyes lingered a little longer than they should have. You met his gaze, trying not to blush under it. Chris pretended not to notice your acts of persuasion. “C’mon D,” you pleaded. You sat up all the way and leaned forward to him. He was looking up at you, something he could get used to.
“Fine.”
“Yes!” “Sweet!”
You hopped off the desk and offered him your hand to help him up. He took it without a second thought. The weight of his hand was relaxing and familiar. You briefly thought about how you wished you could remain holding his hand forever.
“I’ll come get you guys at 8 alright?” Chris asked. You nodded. She backed away to the door, bringing two fingers to her eyes and then flipped them back around towards you. “Be ready or I’ll leave without you.” “Please do,” Dalton pleaded.
“You’re stuck going,” she promised. She opened up the door, calling about something she had to do before you left. You turned to Dalton, a smile plastered on your face. It was a goofy one, half to taunt him, half to have a reason to smile at him.
“It’ll be fun,” you promised.
“If you say so.” -
It was loud before you even went in. Greek Row had a line of houses that all seemed too large to be real and too old to be nice. You could immediately tell which one was having a party from a distance. There were people hanging out on the curb, drinking beer, watching the stars, dancing in the grass and doing other weird things. Dalton scooted closer to you, trying not to show his disinterest.
You nudged him.
“Lighten up,” you said.
“I’m trying,” he promised. You approached the door, slipping through the people making out on the porch. Once you got inside it was like a whole other world had opened up. There were people everywhere, against walls, chugging drinks, dancing against each other. The music was so loud you could hardly see yourself think. Dalton put a hesitant hand to one ear, clearly trying to get used to the overstimulation.
“I’m gonna go upstairs and be nosy!” Chris called over the music. “Either of you want to come?”
“I want a drink!” you yelled. She nodded.
“Dalton?”
“I’ll go with her!” Even though you were practically screaming at each other, it was hard to hear. Chris saluted you both before snaking through the crowd to the stairs.
You didn’t recognize anyone around. It was kind of humbling, realizing how big the school actually was. Dalton was walking close behind you as you made it to a table with snacks. You grabbed a solo cup and poured yourself some of the red liquid, not entirely sure what was in it.
“You want some?!”
“You drink it first!” You rolled your eyes and took a sip. It was foul but not bad enough to make a face. You offered him a drink of yours, which he took. He made a disgusted face, shaking his head as he tried to rid himself of the flavor. You giggled, taking back your cup.
“Want one?!”  He paused, swallowing hard. There were so many people that you were pressed against the table and practically against each other.
“Sure?!” You nodded once, a bright smile on your face. You poured him some and handed it over. You grabbed his arm and weaved him through the crowd so you wouldn’t lose him. You ran into people dancing, narrowly avoiding the people making out on the stairs.
Once you got further away from the living room you were able to hear yourself think a little bit more. Dalton was drinking quickly, despite his looks of distaste. You took a large swig to catch up to him.
“Wanna dance?!” you asked. His eyes went wide as he took a large swallow. The scrunched face of disgust went over his face and then it was even again. He looked towards the crowd of people dancing, men's hands on girls hips, bodies pressed together. Just the thought of it made him blush furiously. “D?!”
“Yeah!” He put down his cup, forgetting about it immediately. This time he grabbed your hand and led you back into the crowd. He didn’t like it but he forced himself to be in the middle so that less people paid attention to him. There was awful music playing but it had an aggressive base that was rocking the floors. You tossed your drink away far too early into a garbage can and started to dance to the music. Dalton wondered if he should put his hands on your sides as you started to move along to the music, looking too intoxicating for his already intoxicated mind.
“C’mon D!” you yelled. You put your hands on his sides, moving him back and forth. He tried not to gasp at your hands. Instead he just put his palms on your hips as well, evening out the playing field. His grip was fiery and incredibly distracting. You were moving him but you weren’t thinking about it anymore. You were thinking about him and you were pulling him closer to you and your chests were flush. You looked him in the eye, not breaking eye contact. It felt like you were playing a game of who would break first. Your breathing was becoming ragged. Was it smokey in here?
Your hands moved up towards his neck. You put your arms on his shoulders. His lips parted. Your torsos were fused together at this point and he was making every effort to hold you even closer to him. Everyone else seemed like a blur.
You lifted your hand up a bit and then placed it on his neck. He would’ve flushed if he wasn’t knee deep in the moment. Your fingers were cool against his bare skin.
“Dalton,” you said, voice too quiet for him to hear but he recognized the way your lips said his name.
“Yeah?”
You leaned forward, kissing him without thinking. His lips parted, breathing in the air you were giving him. He had never felt so euphoric. It briefly crossed his mind that this is what college was for. To make out with the girl he loved in the middle of a room after drinking something was probably too strong. Your hand went to his hair, tangling in his knots.
“C’mon,” you whispered and he only caught it because his face was now so close to yours. Your hand was in his. You had never been in this house before but you were determined now, body on fire. His other hand found your hip. You ran up the stairs. People were staggering around but your mind was now occupied. You tried a door but it was locked. Dalton put both of his hands on your sides behind you. You were a girl on a mission now.
You tried the next door. Locked.
You tried the next one. It opened with a gentle nudge. It was a bathroom, clearly someone’s private one. There was a door attached to it on the side, probably to a bedroom. You grabbed Dalton’s hand off your side and pulled him inside, slamming the door shut.
It was so tight that you were barely able to both get in there. A walk-in shower was shoved in the corner and a sink was beside it, a toilet on the other side. The sink was just barely jutting out of the wall yet you still managed to hoist yourself up to it. You grabbed Dalton, who was far too happy to oblige, and smashed his lips against yours.
All of the tension that had been living within the two of you seemed to fuel the moment. He parted your legs with his hand so he could stand between them. His boldness only turned you on more. You wrapped a leg around his, both of his hands on your sides, gently hiking up your shirt so he could touch your bare skin.
Your brain was muddled. There was nothing in the world anymore except Dalton and his lips and his hair and his body against yours, hot, flush, more toned than you would’ve thought. His lips left yours to trail down your neck. You moaned, which made him visibly react.
Dalton had never felt better, he was convinced. He could live in this bathroom with you forever and never grow unhappy. You put the back of your head against the mirror. Though your torso moved back he didn’t let it stop him from being pressed against you.
Right then, you would’ve done anything he asked. You were all too happy to melt down to your knees. In fact, you were thinking about it as his lips nipped your collar bone. You let out a sharp breath and was about to push him backwards so you could sink off the counter when the adjoining door flew open.
You both jumped, suddenly broken out of the moment. Even though he was startled, his hands didn’t leave your side, he just backed up a bit.
Chris stood in the doorway, her mouth open wide. Then she started to laugh. A hearty laughter, mixed with genuine surprise.
“Sorry to interrupt!” You grabbed a towel that was on the rack and threw it at her. She dodged it.
“We’re in the middle of something Chris,” Dalton said, voice dangerously low and borderline seductive. You glanced at him, chest still heaving.
“I can tell. Maybe next time you guys should lock the doors. Anyone could walk in.”
“Duly noted,” he said. You gestured for her to leave. She stayed put.
“This must be much better than what happened in the bathroom at the last party you went to Dalton.” He rolled his eyes, not even able to bring himself to care. It crossed your mind to just go back to the dorms so you wouldn’t have to deal with interruptions. It felt so far away. You had only been here 20 minutes but it now felt like 20 minutes too long.
Your hand was still lazily hanging off Dalton’s shoulder.
“This door doesn’t lock,” she said, twisting it.
“Alright,” you said.
“You wanna give someone a free show?” Your knees hurt. Hurt wasn’t exactly the right word. Your knees ached.
“Chris,” you said.
“I’m warning you. Anything anyone sees could be recorded.” You pushed yourself off the counter. Dalton stumbled back. You grabbed his hand.
“We’re going back to the dorms.”
“We just got here!” she exclaimed.
“Dorms,” you said. She laughed a bit, lips parted in pleasant surprise.
“Yes ma’am. I’ll see you guys back there.” You pushed past her.
“Knock when you get there!” Dalton called as you dragged him back down the stairs. Chris rolled her eyes. The things on the counter had been shoved to the ground, toothpaste in the sink, towel on the ground.
“Damn guys.”

Note: Hyunjin and Third Person POV
Summary: You and Hyunjin go way back. You've know each other since your senior year of university and your friendship meant a lot to eachother, you just didn't know that it still meant a lot to Hyunjin. He values you as more than a friend and your boyfriend Chan is anything but happy about that. Chan plans to let you know just how unhappy he is with you trying to rekindle your friendship with Hyunjin but when things get heated a certain someone is there to 'save the day'.
Hyunjin's POV
There she goes again, switching those fucking hips so hard. She clearly likes the attention it brings her, the men around her breaking their necks to get a better look at her beautiful --
" Hyunjin?" Fuck, she saw me. I was going to try to surprise her.
"Y/n, hey." I've been practicing my surprised face for a moment like this one. It's pretty hard to be 'surprised' to see someone that you see everyday. "What are you doing out here? Don't you live across town?"
"You know I can't resist Ron's coffee, what about you? It's been forever since I've seen you, where have you been?" To answer your question, yes, I do know that you can't resist the coffee here. You've been coming to this cafe every Saturday and Wednesday after yoga class since our senior year of college. I'm honestly surprised that you stuck with Yoga for two whole years. You've always been bad at committing to things.
"Oh, you know, I've been around. Been doing a little bit of everything, a lot of freelancing."
"That sounds great, I know it can be a bit challenging for photographers to make a living out here but you're so talented I know that you'll find a permanent spot soon." She's smiling, so I can't help but to do the same. She's so cute and foolish. I'll never settle at one job, I need to be close to her. I made a promise never to be more than two miles from her at all times just in case--.
"Y/n." Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. No, no, no. Not him, what the fuck is he doing here.
"Chan, hey, I thought you'd never show up. This is Hyunjin, we went to Uni together. Hyunjin, this is my boyfriend Chan." Oh, I know who he is, Bang Christopher Chan, twenty-five years old, born October third which makes him a libra. I could go on and on about your cute little scumbag here.
"Nice to meet you." I offer my hand to him and his icy stare meets my burning one. He doesn't budge, you can barely tell that he's breathing. You wanna be a tough guy? Two can play that game.
"Chan" Y/n nudges him in his side and he serves her a disapproving glare. Running my hand through my hair I smile over at y/n.
"It's fine, some people have a hard time containing their jealousy when they're around me."
"Come on, y/n, we'll be late." Late? You don't have anywhere to be. She would've put it in her Google Calendar.
"Uh, right. Well um, Hyunjin it was awesome seeing you. Text me sometime." He grips the back of her neck and guides her past me just as she went in for a hug. I'd be lying if I said it didn't take everything in me not to snatch her from him. She doesn't need someone like him, always so cold towards her. Does he even have a heart? How could you not smile at the sight of her short curly hair, her bright eyes and crooked smile. How could you resist such a ravishing woman? It takes everything in me not to step out of her closet in the mornings and fuck her right over her desk.
Before I could say my goodbye the cafe door closed behind them and Chan looked back at me with a smirk. My jaw clenched at the sight, he thinks he's got her. He thinks he can take her from me, he thinks this is goodbye. It is far from goodbye, it's see you later. Maybe, tonight.
Third person POV
"Why would you tell him to text you later?" The echo of Chan slamming his car keys down on the table in the main hallway echoed through the quiet apartment. Y/n trailed in behind him, annoyance evident in her eyes and tone.
"I told you a thousand times, I was being kind. Hyunjin and I haven't seen each other in a year and a half. We were best friends and I've missed him." That's all she had to say to trigger him, he turned swiftly, caging her body against the hallway wall with his arms on either side of her body. He leaned down to her, inches away from her face and snarled.
"You what?"
"I- I said that.. I missed.. him." A smirk plays upon Chan's lips, it deepens into a smile as he processes what she just had the nerve to tell him.
"You shouldn't say things that you don't mean, Y/n. That makes you a liar and no love of mine is going to be a liar. You do not miss him." A stiff laugh spills from Chan's lips causing y/n to shiver and squeeze her eyes shut. She knew that Chan could get jealous to say the least but he's never come off this… Intense. "Listen, baby, I don't want you talking to him okay? I think that's a simple request and I expect you to follow it. Am I clear?"
The silence that followed Chan's question seemed to worsen the situation almost instantly, slamming his hands against the wall he inches closer to her until they are practically sharing the same breath. "Am I fucking clear, y/n?"
"Yes." Her answer is firm and rushed, it's also a lie. She knew that if Hyunjin were to message her, she'd answer. How could she not? Their friendship goes so far back it would just be rude to ignore him.
"Good, pet." Backing away from her Chan turns his attention towards the living room. "I'm Ordering thai, I'll get your usual "
Y/n stood there, shaken and silent as she watched Chan walk away. Little did she know that Hyunjin had seen the whole thing, it was moments like these that he was thankful for installing those nano-cameras a year ago. It was times like these that Hyunjin was tempted to burst through the front door and save her from him, but he knew he had to wait just a little longer.
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
"Who's that?" Y/n's phone chime triggered Chan to speak for the first time in almost two hours. The two had been sitting in the living room in silence flipping through channels until they came across a Criminal Minds marathon. Pressing her home button, y/n checks her phone then shrugs her shoulders seconds after.
"Just an Instagram notification. " Her gaze settles back onto the TV screen but Chan's is fixed on her.
"Are you sure about that?" Y/n's eyes quickly meet Chan's before she averts her gaze to his chest.
"Yes, Chris, I am sure." Her tone, that's what did it. That's what got him started, what caused the corners of his lips to curve into a cynical smile. The violent exhale that followed caused y/n to squirm in her seat a bit, fear bubbling in her stomach.
"I thought I just told you..." Lifting himself and swiftly leaning over y/n like a shadow, Chan grasps the front of her neck and pushes her head back slightly cutting off her air supply. "I don't fucking like liars, and yet, here we are.
The small gasps that y/n managed to let out filled the room along with the noise of a car commercial on the TV. Chan's eyes bore into hers like he was searching for something he hasn't been able to find for years. Like he was waiting for her to look the least bit sorry. Releasing his grip on her neck he swings his arm and the back of his hand sweeps across her cheek harshly causing y/n to shift in her seat. Grabbing a handful of hair he pulls her head back to look him in the eyes and his disturbing yet amused face has shifted to an icy stare.
"How many times am I going to have to telling you the same fucking thing?" His voice was calm yet bitter. "Do I have to beat it into you? Maybe fuck you into submission? Solitary confinement, maybe."
Y/n's heart was beating at nearly a million beats per second but that was nothing compared to Hyunjin's. The sound of Chan's words rang through his head like a church bell. Today was the day that he had to go and save her. Before he knew it he was out of his car and across the street. The sound of y/n whimpering spilled from the cracked window and he used that as his green light. It was almost like he could hear her calling his name in each cry.
Using his copy of the key that he made, Hyunjin busted into the apartment closing the door behind him and rushing to the living to find a half dressed y/n with red marks in a uniform pattern down her back. Her tear littered face turned to look up at him and he felt his heart flutter and sink all at once.
"What the fuck are --" before Chan could finish his sentence Hyunjin had charged at him. Hands balled into fists and ready to fire. Pinning Chan to the ground, Hyunjin had the upper hand for a while. Landing punches in places that were sure to bruise later and remind Chan of this day, this moment.
"What the…" Y/n's voice trailed off into a whisper of silence as she crawled away from the altercation scrambling to her feet. She watched, confused and in pain from the punishment that Chan administered seconds ago.
Chan managed to push Hyunjin off of him and land a strong punch to his nose. The two scrambled to stand and stood across from each other, smirking.
"How fucking dare you touch her like that." All Chan did was chuckle darkly and shake his head slightly.
"I was wondering what it would take for you to come out of hiding." Hyunjin's eyes widened, he knew?
"Now what? Gonna save the day? Take her from me and run away to the land of butterflies and rainbows? " Chan glares at Hyunjin with a cocky grin as he wipes the blood from his nose.
"You don't deserve her, it's me that she needs. I'd never harm her, that's all you seem to know how to fucking do." Chan claps sarcastically causing Hyunjin to snarl aggressively.
"How sweet, but you're missing one key piece…" taking a step closer to Hyunjin, Chan sticks his hands in his pockets. "I'm not letting her go. She's mine, she belongs to me. I won her before you did and I don't plan on letting her go anytime--"
"I'll take her from you, I know her better. I can love her better than you ever imagined you could. " Turning around to face a frightened y/n, Hyunjin smiles. "Baby, let me finally take care of you… I've been here everyday since senior year waiting for you."
"W- what do you mean everyday? You've been.. in my house?" Y/n's visible trembling breaks Hyunjin's heart but he's too far past his capacity of emotional vulnerability to aid her at the moment.
"Of course, Darling, I've been here all along. Watching you sleep, eat, and get hurt by this monster. Now is finally my chance to protect you from him. I'll do whatever I have to do to get you away from him."
"Kill me, that's what you'd have to do. And even then I'd find a way." Hyunjin and Chan stare at each other almost as if it's a game and y/n is the prize.
"Murder, eh? I can do that."

Maverick is a dad?!
Summary: Omg I loved you last fic it was so cute!! I loved how you included the large amount of peer pressure that people in these situations can face and they still stuck with their gut and went to where they felt safe.
I was wondering if I could request another maverick x daughter reader
(background) my cousin is in the military and I attended a gala with him and I saw the cutest thing ever. A soldier holding his sleeping daughter while at the party and my heart immediately was like omg Maverick would so do this!!!
so can I please request one where maverick attends the navy ball with his daughter as his plus one but after some time she starts to get tired. So she does that little toddler whine/cry (not a fit but like they are tired) so Mav starts to think that something is wrong but the only thing he can understand is “I tired” so he realizes that she missed her nap so he picks her up and she falls asleep. So maverick goes through the remainder of the party with a sleeping toddler clinging to his shoulder. Maybe his teammates tease him a little but there wives and girlfriends think it is the sweetest thing ever and just gush to Mav about his sleeping baby.
totally your choice and I love all that you do
have a wonderful morning/afternoon/evening/night

The Navy Gala was something that Maverick dreaded going to always seeing families together and being happy. He never had anyone to go with always going alone. Maverick never really made friends besides Goose, Carole, and Little Bradley. But when Y/N came along, at just a week old, everything changed for him and his lifestyle, the only people that knew about her were the higher-ups and the Bradshaw family, Carole helped a lot when it came to having to babysit and just being a parent.
Y/N was too young when Maverick came into the custody of her. But now that she was 3 years old he thought it was time for her to attend a Navy Gala. Maverick initially didn't want to announce he had a kid but he knew that he couldn't hide her forever plus Goose, Carole, and Bradley were going to be there.
Maverick got dressed in his dress whites and then turned to his 3-year-old sitting on his bed. He could see her from the mirror so she was never out of his sight.
"How do I look, Sunshine?" Maverick asked her, he started calling her Sunshine because she lit up his world when she came into his life. The little girl looked at her dad and scrunched up her nose, a trait her daddy loved, and closed one eye seeming to think about it. One hand comes to her chin to tap it. Then she smiled a bright smile.
"Good Daddy!" She said in her cheery voice. Maverick smiled at her and went over to her tickling her which made her screech and laugh.
"Thank you, Sunshine." Maverick said pulling back "Now we need to get you dressed." He said and picked her up and walked her to her room and sat her down on her bed. He walked to her closet and opened it. He pushed some clothes out of the way until the mini navy blue dress come into view. He pulled it out and walked over to her with it. "Ok, Sunshine. Time to get dressed." He said and started to undress her. While getting her ready he tickled her every now and then making her giggle. He got her dress on and sat her down "Ok shoes." He said to no one in particular, he went to her closest again and pulled out her white sandals. He shut it and walked to her and put her shoes on her. He then looked at her hair. "Ok, Sunshine. How do you want your hair?" He asked her again she made the face she did when he asked her how he looked, then she smiled.
"Side braids Daddy!" She said and he laughed.
"Ok, Sunshine." Maverick said with a giggle. He picked her up, careful to keep her dress down, walked her to the bathroom, and sat her on the counter. He started to brush her hair gently while making faces at her through the mirror. He put the brush down and started to on the right side of her head, gently pulling her hair out of her face and splitting it into three sections, and crossing them over creating a braid until the back of her head and then bringing it around to her. "Hold that for Daddy, please Sunshine." She nodded her head with a smile and took it from him. He repeated the process with the left side and then took the right braid from her and then braided them together and then the end and tied it off with a clear plastic band. He smiled proud of himself and ran a hand through her naturally curly dark locks. When he got custody of her he immediately started to learn hair and even had Carole to help, she was happy to have a little girl to practice hair on since you can only do so much with a boy's hair. He had to add one more touch, he pulled out some navy blue ribbon, that Carole bought him, and tied it in a bow, exactly like Carole showed him. "All done Sunshine." He told her with a smile and helped her down.
"Daddy, how do I look?" Y/n asked twirling.
"Perfect. You look perfect." Maverick said with tears welling up and smiling. They still had some time to kill but decided to get ready early in case something happened. He was so lost in thought that the doorbell ringing made him jump and made Y/N smile.
"UNCKY GOOSEY!" Y/N practically yelled, that kid loved that man, and took off for the door with her dad right behind her.
"Y/N/N slow down before you trip and don't open the door." Maverick said and caught up with her before she could open the door and picked her up. He opened the door to reveal the Bradshaw family. Y/N made grabby hands toward Goose who gladly took her.
"Goodness gracious, great balls of fire don't you look like a princess." Goose said and hugged her and she giggled. He put her down and she ran to Carole and she hugged her.
"You look pretty baby. Mav you did a really good job." Carole said and let her go and then turned to Bradley and hugged him and he returned it.
"Thank you. You helped a lot." Maverick told her. With all the greetings out of the way. "Ok, let's go." He said and headed outside, Goose, Carole, and Bradley got in the Bronco and Maverick and Y/N got in his Ford Range Rover, he still had his bike but figured he needed an actual car to travel with a kid. He put Y/N into her car seat and they all headed towards base.
They arrived on base around noon, it started at 1, and Maverick’s nerves grew a million questions running through his head. How will his squad react to him having a kid? Was this a mistake? He completed turning around and leaving but a tap on his window brought him out of his head and knew there was no turning back. He got out and got his little girl out of her car seat.
"Hey, Mav you ok?" Goose asked him before meeting Carole and Bradley on the back end of the car.
"Yea just a little nervous." He said still carrying Y/N.
"Everything is going to be ok. We're here if something goes wrong." Goose told him and Maverick just nodded. Maverick put Y/N down and held her hand. They started walking into the building. They got in and looked around Maverick felt Y/N squeeze his hand a sign of nervousness he looked down and bent down to her level.
"It's ok sweetheart. I know it's overwhelming but I'll be right here with you. If I can't be with you then you stick with Carole, Bradley, or Goose, ok?" Maverick comforted her and asked her.
"Ok, Daddy." She said kind of mumbled but loud enough for him to hear. He hugged her and stood back up.
"Mav we need to go say hi." Goose said and Maverick nodded and turned to Carole.
"Go! I got her." Carole said and they both left. She went over to the other wives and girlfriends with the kids in tow. Y/N was quiet never really been away from her daddy. She stuck close to Bradley and Carole. It was nearing 3 in the afternoon when little Y/N started to get tired, she was supposed to have a nap at noon but had woke up a little later than usual. Carole was talking and she didn't want to interrupt since her daddy taught her better than that. She wanted her daddy. When there was a break in the conversation she got Carole's attention and she bent down to her level. "What's up baby?" She asked her and Y/N pouted and mumbled and started to rub her eyes "What was that baby?" She asked one more time.
"Want my daddy." Y/N said and Carole nodded.
"Ok, let's go find him." Carole said and picked her up and grabbed Bradley's hand. After searching for Goose and Maverick she walked to them excusing them when they had to go past people and they finally reached them. She tapped Maverick on the shoulder and he turned around and saw Carole holding his little girl. "Somone wanted her daddy." She said. He noticed her expression on her face.
"What's wrong Sunshine?" Maverick asked her. She mumbled some stuff but nothing coherent. He took her from Carole and Y/N immediately clung to him "One more time." He said and leaned closer to her to hear her and started to pout and cry throwing a fit but not enough to make a scene.
"I'm tired." Y/N said and rubbing her eyes vigorously and then it hit him, she was supposed to have a nap at noon. They had at least another 3 hrs to go.
"Oh, Sunshine. You missed a nap. Go ahead and go to sleep. I'll hold you." Maverick told her and she nodded laying her head on his shoulder and burying her face into his neck and instantly fell asleep. He turned around to finish talking to Goose, Viper, and Jester who all had a smile on their face. They continued to talk until the two older gentlemen were pulled away. As Goose, Carole, Bradley, Maverick, and Y/N all hung out together they heard some whispers but most of all he could hear his little girl's soft snores and her breath on his neck.
Over where Ice, Slider, Hollywood, Wolfman, and the others with their significant others were talking, Ice spots Maverick with Y/N in his arms. Ice slaps Slider several times trying to get his attention until finally he does.
"What?" Slider said while rubbing his arm all Ice did was point at where Maverick was.
"Am I just seeing things or am I drunk?" Ice said not taking his eyes off Maverick.
"Not drunk we're seeing it too. You think that's his kid?" Wolfman asks him not fully believing it.
"Can't be. It has to be Goose's kid." Slider said while their significant others all talked and gossiped about how cute it was.
"No, I don't think so. She looks too much like Maverick." Hollywood said. Sarah, Ice's significant other, cut in.
"Well it's just adorable and I think we should go say and introduce ourselves." She said and all others agreed well except the men. The men didn't have a choice with them being dragged over to the little group. Carole was the first one to notice the large group stroll up.
"Hey, guys!" Carole said to them not worrying about how loud she was since Y/N could sleep through anything, she got that from her father.
"Hey! We thought we would come over and say and introduce ourselves." Wolfman's wife said earning a groan from the others which resulted in some elbows to the ribs.
"Well, I'm glad you did." She said they introduced themselves more like the women to Goose, Maverick, Carole, and Bradley. Maverick tightened his grip on his daughter.
"I'll ask the question we're all dying to know. Who does the little girl belong to?" Ice said getting straight to the point and earning a slap on the arm from Sarah. Goose and Maverick looked at each other with Goose giving him a nod of encouragement.
"She's mine." Maverick said a little defensively and his arms tightened but not enough to hurt her. Everyone was stunned in silence.
"Maverick is a dad?!" Slider pretty much yelled and asked and his jaw dropped.
"Well, she's just so cute!" Elizabeth, Wolfman's significant other said "What's her name?" She asked wanting to touch her but refraining from it wanting to respect the father's space.
"Her name is Y/N Grace Mitchell." Maverick told them as Y/N shifted and turned her head away from her father's neck. She continued to sleep away.
"Why didn't you tell us about her?" Ice asked him and Maverick sighed.
"I figured you guys wouldn't care. I mean we had our own things to worry about, why would you having known I had a kid be important?" Maverick said and everyone's hearts melted, including Ice's.
"Where's her mother?" Slider asked curious.
"Not in the picture. Gave up rights as soon as she was born. She was the result of a one-night stand." Maverick told them. Everyone was silent.
"Did you do her hair?" Holly, Hollywood's significant other, asked in awe.
"Yes, I did. When she came into my life I started to learn hair and had some help from Carole. Her hair is naturally curly so that helped some." Maverick told her and the look of awe on her face was perfect. Y/N slowly started to wake up and leaned opened her eyes and leaned back, Maverick who had felt her move looked at her. "Hi there, Sunshine. Nice nap?" Maverick asked her and she nodded her head. Everyone's hearts melted even more and a chorus of 'aw' came out from all the women. "You think you're up for meeting some people?" He asked her and she made a face but nodded. She turned around and some people she didn't know. "Y/N I want you to meet Ice, Sarah, Slider, Avery, Hollywood, Holly, Wolfman, and Elizabeth." He told her their names knowing it was a lot but knew she was a smart girl and would be able to remember even for her age.
"Hi Y/N. It's nice to meet you." Ice said with his charming smile and she smiled back and hid into her father's neck. Everyone was in awe. Goose laughed and tickled her sides which she giggled.
They stayed together talking and including Bradley, who was now in Carole's arms, Y/N in their conversations and occasionally eating. By the time 6 PM rolled around it was time to go home. Everyone was bidding their goodbyes but Ice stopped them from leaving just yet.
"If you ever need help with her or anything, we're here for you." Ice told him and the rest nodded and Maverick didn't know what to say.
"Thank you, guys. It means a lot." He finally said. They all bid their goodbyes and headed out of the building. Maverick, Y/N, and the Bradshaw family arrived at their cars and Maverick put his little girl in her car seat and kissed her head before closing the door. He turned around to Goose and Carole, Bradley had already been put in the Bronco. "Goodnight guys. I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked.
"Of course Mav! You and Y/N are always welcome to hang out around us! You know she and Bradley love to play together." Carole said.
"Absolutely Mav. Goodnight." Goose said with a smile. They hugged each other and got in their cars. Maverick looked back checking on his little girl and she was fast asleep again. He backed out after Goose smiling. He was glad she was not a secret anymore but boy was it nerve-wracking to tell. He was glad he had people to help out when he needed it and maybe Ice and the others would give him some more respect now, they had grown some respect when he brought Ice, Slider, and Goose home safely.
When they got home he parked his car and got out and went to the back seat, he unbuckled his little girl, shut the door, and walked into the house after unlocking it. He walked in and shut it then walked up the stairs and to Y/N's room. Amazingly she was still asleep, he hated to wake her up be needed to get her changed.
"Sunshine." Maverick said while rubbing her back and she slowly started to wake up.
"Daddy?" Y/N asked and he smiled
"Hey there. I need to get you changed and then you can go back to sleep ok?" Maverick asked her and she nodded sleepily. He went on about getting her changed with little help from her. He then tucked her in and kissed her forehead "Goodnight, Sunshine. I love you." He whispered and she snuggled into her pillow holding her stuffed F-14. Y/N didn't answer already had fallen asleep. He didn't bother taking her hair down but did take the ribbon out.
Maverick turned and walked out of her room cracking the door slightly. He went about tidying the house up and watching some TV until about 10 PM and then started to get ready for bed. He checked on Y/N one more time then walked into his room and got changed and climbed into bed. As he was drifting off to sleep a smile graced his face, he was glad he had her in his life and happy that he has a team to support him. He might've been scared to bring her out into the world of aviators but, he knew that she would have them wrapped around her finger in no time.

Chapter warnings: graphic descriptions of violence, death, blood, language, alcohol, sexual tension etc :)
A/N: I needed to give these poor characters a break lol
Chapter Thirteen
Tumblr media
Pairing: Joel x F!Reader, pre-outbreak and post outbreak
AU (the only thing I kept was the outbreak, Joel, and Tommy's characters. Joel's backstory is different, and the way he finds Jackson is different. I may include Ellie one day, I just haven't planned that far)
Fic Summary: You worked for Joel and Tommy a few months before the outbreak. The outbreak happens, and you and Joel get stuck traveling the country and keeping each other safe. Neither of you spoke about the feelings you had for one another pre-outbreak, and in a post-apocalyptic world, it seems like survival should be your only focus. But feelings can't be ignored forever.
Fic tags: Explicit Smut (18+ MDNI), Smut, Language, Canon-Typical Violence, Alcohol Use, Age Difference (Reader is 10 years younger than Joel), slow burn, mutual pining, angst, trauma, SA referencing later but I will put a big warning on those chapters

April 2004
Spring was in the air and the days were getting warmer, which meant you both needed new clothes. You rifled through the closet of the house two doors down, tossing clothes that were both your sizes onto the bed behind you. Whoever lived in the house you were currently staying in was much larger than you and Joel, so you made rags from their clothes, and you ended up searching inside the house down the street.
In the past two months, neither of you had seen an infected or a living person unless you left the area to explore the nearby town. You were beginning to feel like the two of you were living in a little bubble, completely cut off and alone, and it was wonderful. You let yourselves relax, laughing and joking, and you felt comfortable going out by yourself to explore the neighborhood. The houses were practically untouched and stocked with all kinds of food that you could use, and Joel felt confident about starting a fire in the seclusion of the forest. You would make dinner together at night, and afterwards you would play cards, read, or do crosswords in front of the fireplace. It was overwhelmingly domestic and peaceful.
Joel had originally said he wanted to stay there until you were healed and the weather warmed up, but it's been a couple weeks of spring and he hadn't suggested leaving yet. You didn't bring it up because it was as close to normal as you thought you would ever feel again, and you were scared to let it go.
Almost every morning, you woke up with Joel's arms wrapped around you. You were both so used to it by now that it no longer felt forbidden, but it was expected. There hadn’t been another charged moment like that morning in your childhood bedroom, but there had been a few moments here and there that caused your mind to wander. Like when you would make dinner together in the kitchen and Joel would slip by you, gently placing his hands on your hips as he brushed past while you prepared food, or when you sat together reading in front of the fireplace and he draped his arm along the back of the couch, his long fingers grazing your shoulder.
You became an expert at avoiding your feelings for him, so you never acted on those moments. Instead, you distracted yourself with the new world around you. Joel would spend much of his time during the day hunting in the forest and gathering wood for the fire, and you would explore each house on the street, first for supplies, and then for entertainment. You had found a romance novel tucked into the bedside table of the house you were currently rummaging through, deciding at the last minute to bring it back with you for something to read.
You tucked the book in the back of your pants and grunted as you lifted the pile of clothes off the bed. Your wounds had healed pretty well, but you were still a little stiff and you had a few nasty pink scars along your ribs to show for it. You wandered down the street, barely able to see over the clothes, as you made your way back to your white house with blue shutters. Joel had been resting in a rocking chair on the front porch, waiting for your return, when he saw you struggling with the clothes. He jogged down the stairs to meet you halfway and grabbed some from your arms.
“Thanks,” you said, readjusting the clothes as you made your way to the house. “When did you get back?”
“’Bout ten minutes ago. I got lucky early and got us a small doe, probably just a yearling. I got it in the garage, I’ll skin it later.”
“That’s great, we haven’t had venison in a long time,” you said, climbing the stairs up to the front porch. You dropped the clothes unceremoniously on the couch in the living room, deciding to tackle the sorting later.
“What’s this?” Joel asked, yanking the book from the back of your jeans. He glanced at the cover, his eyes widening, and he shot you a teasing smirk. You huffed and tried to tug the book from his hand, but he was too quick, dangling it above your head and then turning around so he could thumb through the pages. He stopped on a page and skimmed a quick paragraph, giving a low whistle. You wrapped your arm around him trying to grab the book, but he anticipated it and twisted away, taking a few steps backwards as he continued to read.
“This is dirty!” he teased, and you felt your face flush.
“I didn’t know what it was, I just grabbed it for something to read!” you lied, lunging forward again but he held his arm out and tucked the book behind his back. You grumbled irritably, your hands on your hips as you glared at him. He tsked at you and waved his finger back and forth.
“Liar,” he said, grinning as you felt another wave of heat roll over your skin. “You’re blushing, you knew what this was.”
You had enough of him embarrassing you now, so you decided two could play that game.
“Fine, maybe I did,” you said, narrowing your eyes at him. “A girl’s got needs, you know.”
You smirked as you watched his teasing grin fade instantly from his face. His gaze darkened as he regarded you for a moment. You stood your ground, hands still on your hips and looking at him defiantly but you could feel your fast heartbeat and the butterflies in your stomach betraying you. He took a step towards you, then another. You played it cool, refusing to break eye contact and let him win, but you couldn’t stop from swallowing nervously. You tilted your head back to continue to meet his gaze once he came to a stop right in front of you. Now that you were up close, you noticed there was a slight pink flush dusting his cheeks. His lips were parted, and you swore he was breathing faster than normal.
“Is that right?” he murmured to you now, his voice unmistakably heavy with desire. You didn’t trust yourself to say anything without it coming out three octaves higher than normal, so instead you slowly nodded your head.
You must have parted your lips without knowing it because he finally broke eye contact to look down at them hungrily. You shifted your weight slightly as you felt your arousal pooling in your underwear. You dropped your arms to your sides and rose to your tip toes, slowly leaning up towards his face. He could smell the soap you used this morning and felt your exhale tickling his neck as you rose higher. He was practically in a trance as his eyes fluttered closed and he leaned down a fraction, eagerly awaiting the feel of your mouth on his.
Once his eyes shut, you swung your arm out and snatched the book from his hand, jumping back and holding it in front of you triumphantly. His eyes snapped open and he held back a groan, the look of disappointment evident on his face.
"That wasn't very nice," he said. His whole body was on fire, and he prayed you didn't notice the growing erection through his jeans.
"Aww," you gave him a teasing frown and pout, tapping the book on his shoulder as you passed him, "don't worry, I'll let you borrow this when I'm done."

After dinner, you and Joel settled into the living room like you always did, today choosing to play cards in front of the fireplace. You were closely examining your hand and struggling to remember the rules of poker Joel had taught you last week. Joel watched you as your brows furrowed and you shuffled the cards around.
"Hey," he said softly, placing his cards facedown and putting his hand out to push yours down as well. You looked up at him curiously, dropping your hands to your lap and fidgeting with the hem of your shirt. "Can we talk about somethin'?"
Your breath caught in your throat when you saw the softness behind his eyes and heard the tone of his voice. This is it, we're finally going to talk about it.
He sighed and leaned back in his chair. "I've wanted to talk to you about this for a while, but I wasn't sure how you'd feel about it," he began, and your heart started thudding in your chest. "Just know that we can do whatever you're comfortable with," he continued, your eyes widening. Holy shit. He took a deep breath and leaned forward on the table, inches away from your face. You thought you were going to pass out from how fast your pulse was racing. "What do you think about gettin' a CB radio?"
You froze, not sure you heard him correctly.
"What?" you asked, your voice cracking.
"A CB radio," he repeated, leaning back in his chair again. "I bet either the fire department or the police station in town's got one. Figure we can listen in on one, maybe there's other survivors, communities... maybe we can even find Tommy."
"Oh!" You said, shaking your head to clear your mind from the wrong direction your thoughts had gone. "Yeah, sure, let's do that."
"I know you really like it here, and I do too," he said, picking his cards back up, "but it's not safe to stay here forever. We gotta have a plan. People'll eventually find us here. Call." He pushed a red button you were using as poker chips into the center of the table.
You nodded and bit your lip, looking back at your cards. You let out a shaky breath, your adrenaline still rushing through your veins.
"You alright?" Joel asked you innocently, noticing you were jittery.
"Yep, I'm fine," you said, sounding clearer now. "I fold." You tossed your cards face up on the table and leaned back as Joel swept the pile of buttons into his hand.
You yawned and stretched your arms above your head. "I think I'm gonna go get ready for bed." You stood and picked up your flashlight to make your way upstairs.
"Did ya think I was talkin' about somethin' else?" He asked lowly, right as your foot hit the first step. You whipped your head around to find him smirking with his arms crossed in his chair. Your jaw dropped and he winked as your cheeks began to feel hot.
"That wasn't very nice," you repeated his words back to him before ascending the stairs to bed.

New Virginia, Iowa was a very small town that consisted of a few churches, a library, a handful of restaurants and a post office. The whole town appeared deserted except for a few infected, most of which the pair of you took care of when you first explored the town back in March. Joel had trouble trying to break into the front door of the police station, so you tried your luck with another entrance attached to the small parking garage. You shifted your backpack on your shoulders as you waited for him to jimmy open the lock. Whenever you left the safety of your house you always made sure to pack both your bags with all your necessities. Even though the past couple months have been quiet and relaxing, you refused to let yourselves be caught off guard. You brought your supplies and weapons with you whenever you left the neighborhood, never knowing for sure if you would have to make a run for it one day.
You glanced around the parking garage once again before hearing the telltale click of the lock breaking.
"Shit," Joel whispered harshly. You turned back to look at him and saw blood dripping down his palm. You dropped your pack to the floor and rummaged around for a handful of rags, pressing one into his hand before digging for some rubbing alcohol. You both sat down on the floor, his hand held out to you while you gently cleaned his cut, first with some water, then with the alcohol. He hissed at the sting and clenched his eyes shut while you pressed a clean rag against the cut and squeezed his other hand comfortingly.
"I'm sorry," you whispered, removing the rag to assess the damage. He opened his eyes and watched as you tended so delicately to his injury. He stared adoringly at your face while you were distracted, taking in the way you bit down on your lower lip in concentration, the loose strands of hair that dangled in front of your eyes, the little frown your brows made. He had been so distracted that he didn't even notice you were done patching him up. You looked up at him and smiled.
"Good as new. Well, I think, anyway. Cut doesn't look that deep, I don't think you need stitches." He looked down and saw you had expertly wrapped his hand tightly with a couple of rags. He flexed his fingers as he tested his mobility.
"Thanks," he said, standing back up and looking back down on the floor at his broken hunting knife. He sighed. "I really liked that knife."
"We can find you a new one," you said, pushing the door open a crack to listen inside. You pushed it open all the way and scanned your flashlights over the room. As expected, it was empty. You both walked past a few desks towards the back of the room, opening up each door until you found a gun locker. You were about to offer to work on the lock instead but Joel walked up and the door swung right open. He turned back to you with his eyebrows raised and shrugged.
“Small town, I guess,” he said, looting around for more ammo and then pulled out a handgun. He checked that it was loaded and handed it to you, remembering yours was stolen from your house after you left it with Tim and Lucy. You double checked the safety was on and shoved it in the back of your jeans, pulling your light jacket over the top. Joel couldn’t find any knives, but he did find two retractable police batons. You tested it out with a flick of your wrist, the baton extending instantly in your hand, then collapsed it so it would fit in your jacket pocket.
You left the armory and went to explore the police chief’s office where Joel found a CB radio on top of a filing cabinet next to the desk. He flipped it around to examine it, then picked up the transceiver and microphone, shoving it into his pack.
“Maybe we can find a car battery in the parking ramp before we go home, get this thing workin’," Joel said, but all you heard was the word home. You grinned like an idiot once his back was to you, leading you out of the police station.
Joel pried open the hoods on the cars remaining in the parking ramp, trying to find a battery that still had power and was in good condition. You yawned and meandered around the corner, looking for something to occupy yourself while he worked. You saw a car with the passenger door open and what looked like duffel bags inside. You glanced at Joel over your shoulder, his head buried under the hood of a red sedan.
“I’m gonna go take a look at this car down here, see if there’s anything we can use,” you said. He turned around and looked at the car you had pointed out. He nodded before saying, “Be careful.”
He was muttering to himself as he unhooked yet another dead battery when he felt the cold metal barrel of a pistol press against the back of his head.
“Don’t say a word, or we kill the girl,” a deep voice said quietly behind him. We. He froze and swung his eyes around frantically, trying to think of anything he could do to get the upper hand. He glanced down at the revolver on his hip, but the man behind him already saw it. “Two fingers. Pick it up slowly, and hand it over. Slow.”
Joel did as he was told, his heart slamming against his ribs as he listened for any indication that you were hurt.
“Stand up, turn around, hands in the air,” the man said, and again, Joel obeyed. He was faced with two men, one of which was now sheathing his knife in favor of Joel’s revolver. He looked behind them, trying to spot you by the car you said you were looking through, but you weren’t there. He began to panic, and his vision narrowed.
“Take whatever you want, just don’t hurt her,” he said gruffly to the men, but his eyes gave away how fearful he was. They chuckled, slinging Joel’s backpack over their shoulder along with the rifle he had set down next to it. “Please,” he tried again, begging.
“Don’t worry,” sneered the man holding his revolver. “We got a friend taking real good care of her.”
Before Joel’s mind could even process the implication, he heard a man’s wild, high-pitched scream coming from the other end of the parking ramp, around a corner none of you could see beyond. The two men exchanged nervous glances, then one single gunshot rang out, echoing over the concrete walls. The men stared at the corner of the garage, guns still aimed on Joel, waiting to see who had pulled the trigger.
Joel tried to control his panicked breaths until he saw you round the corner with a look of anger and determination on your face. In one hand was your handgun, and the other was reaching into your jacket pocket, flicking open the police baton. Your eyes were glued to the two men threatening Joel, your jaw clenched, and nostrils flared as you suddenly picked up your pace and made a beeline towards the one holding Joel’s revolver.
Joel could tell you had surprised them with your bold plan of attack, so he took advantage of it and lunged forward, tackling the man who originally held a gun to his head. He knocked the gun out of his hand, and it skidded under a parked car. Joel began mercilessly beating the man’s face with his fist, watching as he broke his nose and then his jaw, only stopping when he noticed his own blood began to flow from his knuckles and the injury on his palm. As he stood up, he pulled the knife from his boot. The man’s eyes shifted towards the knife and then back at Joel with a wild look in his eye.
“No! No, no, no, please, I’ll –“ before he could finish, Joel rammed the knife into the man’s chest with a grunt. He made sure he was dead before pulling the knife out and stumbled in your direction, but as it turned out, you didn’t need any help.  You had the other man on the floor with your foot on his chest as you removed your own switchblade from the side of his neck.
You turned around, gasping for breath from the exertion, and wiped the blood from your face with the sleeve of your jacket. Joel strode right up to you and yanked you into a tight hug, pressing the side of your head against his chest. You could hear how fast his heart was beating as you wrapped your arms around his waist and closed your eyes. He finally allowed you to pull back, but he held your face in both his hands, looking you up and down for any injuries.
“I’m fine, I promise,” you told him, covering his hands with your own and gently tugging them downward. You folded the switchblade and baton back up and put them away before leaning over and picking up Joel’s revolver, along with the dead man's knife. “Told you we'd get you a new one,” you joked, trying to lighten the mood as you could tell Joel was still shaken from the fight.  He let out a small chuckle before picking up his belongings.
“What the hell did ya do to that guy to make him scream like that?”
“I stabbed him in the balls,” you said, glancing sideways at him and catching the wince on his face.
“Fuck the battery, let’s go home,” he told you, wrapping an arm around you for one more half hug before heading back out the way you came.
Tumblr media
Once you got back to the house, you each took a turn washing the blood and grime off your bodies before preparing some venison to eat for dinner. You had made a packet of instant mashed potatoes and you shared a can of green beans as you settled on the couch to eat. Halfway through the meal, Joel's eyes lit up and he turned towards you.
"Wait here, I forgot I found somethin', I'll be right back," and he headed out to the attached garage to bring back two bottles of white wine. You gasped, grabbing them from his hands to look at the labels in the light of the fire.
"When did you find these?" you asked, still in shock.
"Couple days ago in the basement of the green house. I was settin' them aside for a special occasion, and seein' as you kicked so much ass earlier, I figured today is that day," he said, heading into the kitchen to find a corkscrew and glasses.
"Well, I don't know if I kicked ‘so much’ ass, I think I kicked an average amount of ass," you giggled, sitting back down to finish your meal as he poured you each a glass. You tried to ignore how casually you spoke about killing other people as you gratefully took a glass from his hand, taking your first sip and letting a moan escape your lips. Joel smiled and went back to finishing his dinner, trying to ignore the sound you made.
Your plates long discarded and on your second glasses of wine, you insisted on properly bandaging the cut on his palm, now that the bath he took had washed away all the dried blood. You tipped his hand towards the light of the flames as you diligently sanitized the cut again before sticking a big, rectangular bandaid over it.
"Maybe you should take some antibiotics," you said, gently running a finger down the bandage. "That parking ramp was filthy." He shrugged as he watched you lazily tracing his cut through the bandage.
"Yeah, maybe, I'll take one tomorrow," he mumbled. He could tell his alcohol tolerance was next to nothing after all these months because the wine was going right to his head. You flipped his hand over and ran your fingers gently along his damaged knuckles. His breath hitched at the contact, and he took another sip of wine to hide it. Maybe the wine was going to your head, too.
You dragged your gaze up from his hand to his exposed forearms, remembering how fixated you were on them just a year ago. You bit your lip and reached for your glass, in the process dropping his hand to rest on your knee. You almost gasped, then had to stifle a laugh at how absurd it was to have such a reaction to a simple touch on your knee. You took another sip of wine and blamed the fact you hadn't had sex in nearly a year as the reason. The time you had sex with Justin wasn't exactly fulfilling, so it hardly counted. You stole a glance in Joel's direction as he stared at the open fireplace and sipped his wine. You thought back again to that night at the bar when Joel asked you to go home with him. You could kick yourself now for not doing it. You knew he was still attracted to you by the way you saw his pants tighten yesterday when you teased him with the book, and months ago back in your bedroom when you had almost kissed. That day, you were ready to take things further with him, even with the understanding that all he was willing to offer you was the physical part of a relationship.
"Why are you lookin' at me like that?" he asked you without taking his eyes off the fire.
"Like what?" you replied lowly.
"You know what," he said, turning to you now. His beautiful brown eyes were a shade darker as he looked at you, his fingers curling around your knee, this time pulling a gasp from you.
You decided to go for it. You put your glass down and slid over to sit a little closer to him as he eyed you warily. You trailed your fingertip along the back of his hand again, admiring how long and thick his fingers were before dragging a line up his forearm and wrapped your hand around it gently.
"Can I tell you a secret?" you asked huskily, staring down as your thumb rubbed his arm.
"Mhmm," he murmured, entranced by the contact.
"When we first met, I couldn't stop thinking about your arms. Every time I saw you... I was just so distracted," you flicked your eyes up to his face and watched as he held his breath at your words. He finally found his voice and brought his eyes up to look at you.
"That wasn't exactly a secret," he whispered, "even Tommy noticed that."
You hummed, refusing to let any embarrassment throw you off. You watched as he took another sip of wine and tried a different tactic.
"Do you remember the last time I had wine like this?" you asked, raising your eyebrow. You saw his Adam's apple stopped bobbing mid swallow. That did the trick.
"Yes," he said roughly, looking straight ahead at the fire again, his grip on your knee tightening as you slowed the circles your thumb was making on his arm.
"That was a fun night," you said, willing him to look at you again.
"Followed by a not so fun day," Joel replied, trying to throw some cold water on the conversation. You sighed, growing frustrated as he put his glass down on the coffee table.
"Right, the outbreak," you muttered, your hand releasing his arm.
"No," he said, finally turning towards you. "Because that's the day I fucked everything up." His eyes burned into yours, desperately trying to say the words.
"You didn't fuck everything up," you told him, scooting even closer to him on the couch. You leaned forward and put a hand on his knee for balance, then placed a chaste kiss on the corner of his mouth. He let out a shaky sigh and wrapped his other hand around your wrist.
"What are you doin'?" he asked, fighting the urge to give in.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" you said back, planting another small kiss in the same place. His grip on your wrist loosened and he swallowed hard.
"Please," he croaked out, his expression pained when you leaned back to look at him. "Don't do this again. I don't think I can take it."
You frowned, confused. Maybe he didn't realize you now understood what he wanted. You reached out a hand to rest on the back of his neck.
"It doesn't have to mean anything," you murmured to him, licking your lips. "I get it now."
Now Joel was the one to frown and pulled his head back a fraction to discourage your kiss.
"Is that what you want?" he asked, unable to hide his heartache as he searched your eyes for an answer. Maybe the wine was getting to you more than he thought. You paused, genuinely perplexed now.
"Isn't that what you want?" you asked him, your brows knit.
"What are you talkin' about?" he questioned louder now, turning his whole body to face you, your hands dropping to your lap as he removed his hand from your knee.
"The day we fought in your office, the day I quit, your birthday!" you said, your voice getting louder with each word.
"What does that have to do with this?" Joel asked, his voice filled with despair. What the hell were you talking about?
"You got mad at me for not sleeping with you!" you all but shouted now, getting angry you had to spell it out for him. "I didn't want to just have sex back then, but I'm trying to tell you now that I'm fucking fine with that, if that's all you want!"
You stared at each other for a minute, both panting slightly as you got increasingly agitated. Joel shook his head and rubbed his hands up and down his face. Then he suddenly stopped and his hands grasped your shoulders, bringing you an inch closer.
"Do you got any idea what you do to me?!" he exclaimed, almost shaking you. You could hear the pain in his voice as it cracked. "'Course that's not all I want. I want everything! I want you!"
Your breath caught in your throat at his admission, completely stunned. You shook your head now, finally asking him the question that weighed on your mind for months.
"Then why did you call me a whore?" you asked, softly now, your voice laced with sadness. He slowly dropped his hands from your shoulders, casting his eyes downward in shame. His eyebrows furrowed as he brought his fingers up to pinch the bridge of his nose, sighing before dropping his hand to his lap and looking back up at you.
"I..." he began, chewing on his lip and casting his gaze around the room to collect his thoughts before continuing. "I saw you that day, before you came up to my office," he said, looking back at you now, your lips parting as you tried to think back. He could see the confusion in your face. "I had no right to feel, to think, you were mine," he added, "but when I saw you flirtin' with him, I just lost it."
You frowned and pursed your lips, still not making the connection.
"Flirting with who?" you asked, cocking your head to the side.
"That guy in your department, the one that was at the bar that night!" He said, throwing his hands in the air. "I saw you dancin' with him in the goddamn copy room. It's my own fault, I knew we weren't anythin', but I guess I'd hoped... and that fuckin' copy room... it just set me off," he said, looking deep into your eyes before finally saying, "I'm so sorry."
You remembered now. He had seen you dancing with Kyle in the copy room. Kyle. You shouldn't have found it funny, but the wine coupled with how ridiculous your fight seemed now made you giggle, which then escalated to full blown laughter as your covered your mouth, turning your face away from Joel's intense stare. He raised an eyebrow at you, still not finding it funny. You saw he was patiently waiting for you to explain, so you wiped a stray tear away from the corner of your eye and composed yourself.
"Joel... Kyle was gay," you said, still trying to hide your smirk. You watched his face as he absorbed the words, his pained expression slowly softening and his eyebrows relaxing.
"I'm so fuckin' stupid," he whispered, his bandaged hand reaching out to grasp the back of your neck and pulled you into him, his lips locking onto yours. You whimpered as you brought your hands up to rake through his hair, his other hand coming to rest on your hip before sliding down your leg. He leaned forward to push you backwards onto the couch. Hovering above you, he hooked your leg around his waist and rested his hand back on your hip, licking at your bottom lip. You eagerly opened your mouth at his request, deepening the kiss as you ran your tongue alongside his own, tasting the remnants of the wine between you. You moaned into his mouth, removing one hand from his hair and wrapping it around his back, trying to bring him closer. You were desperate to taste and feel him everywhere, a year of yearning for him finally coming to a head.
Joel could hardly see straight from the adrenaline coursing through his body. Every nerve ending felt alive. He thought he ruined his chance of ever being with you. He had resigned himself to a life where he was content with just being near you and occasionally got to hold you at night. His emotions were so overwhelming that his movements were becoming chaotic, his hand briefly sliding from your hip to cup your ass, then back to your hip. His other hand moved from the back of your neck to hold your jaw in place as he broke contact from your mouth for a moment, just to flip his head in the other direction before sliding his tongue back inside your mouth.
You arched your back off the couch to press your body against him. You tugged at the back of his t-shirt and wrapped your other leg around his waist, pulling him all the way down so he was laying on top of you. You lifted your hips up to grind against the erection straining against his jeans, eliciting a groan from Joel, when you felt something sharp digging into your thigh. You let go of his shirt and brought your hand around to his chest, pushing him up and breaking the kiss. You had to tug gently on his hair to keep him from latching his mouth onto your neck.
“Wait,” you gasped. He removed his hand from your hip and pushed his fist into the couch cushion, holding himself above you. “What is that?” you asked, flicking your eyes downward. He paused, confused, as he looked down at his cock rubbing against your inner thigh through his jeans, then back up to you.
“Not that,” you said, removing your hand from his hair and swatting playfully at his shoulder before reaching down to his pocket. “This.”
“Oh,” his face broke out into a warm smile now as he removed his hand from your jaw and dug into his pocket, pulling out the Texas shaped keychain. He dangled it between you, still smiling as he watched the realization hit you. Your jaw dropped as you stared at it and then gently reached out to take it from him, turning it over in your hands before looking back up at him. You couldn’t help it. Tears sprung to your eyes as you swallowed roughly, biting your lower lip. He pressed his wounded palm back against your jaw, using his thumb to pull your lip from your teeth and then wiped a stray tear from your cheek.
“I’m so fuckin’ sorry, sweetheart,” he whispered, running his thumb across your cheek again. “Please forgive me.” You choked back a sob at the pet name he refrained from calling you for so long. The last time you heard it, it was said with such cruelty and disdain, and to hear it now, said with so much love and adoration, nearly broke you. You could only nod your head enthusiastically, not trusting yourself to speak as you looped the keyring around your finger and pulled him back down to you.
This time, the intensity behind your kiss escalated. You gently raked your fingernails through his hair and then up and down his back, your tongues swirling together, quiet moans leaving your mouth and being swallowed up by his as you ground your hips up into him, begging him to take things further. He broke your kiss to allow you to get some air, but he continued, leaving gentle kisses along your jaw, nipping at your earlobe, then traveling down your neck, occasionally giving your skin a warm lick if he felt he had left a mark with his teeth. You reached down with the keychain still looped around your finger, and fumbled hastily with his belt buckle. He stopped his assault on your neck and pulled back, taking his hand from your face to stop yours from undoing his belt. You frowned as you laid underneath him, gasping for breath.
“Not tonight,” he panted, drawing a whine from you. “We’ve been drinking,” he continued, bringing your hand away from his belt to rest above your head, where he pressed your wrist into the arm of the couch. “I wanna take my time,” he leaned forward, gently pressing his mouth against your swollen lips before pulling back, “and remember,” giving you another languid kiss, “every,” he pressed his lips against your cheek, “single,” kissing the tip of your nose, “sound you make for me,” he finished, massaging his lips tenderly against yours again.
You groaned against his mouth and you felt his lips tug into a smile.
"It'll be worth it, I promise," he whispered against your lips, his grip tightening against your wrist as you squirmed under him. He tugged on your wrist as he rolled off of you and onto his back, pulling you onto your side and under his arm. You rested your cheek against his chest and drew lazy patterns on his stomach, while he absentmindedly dragged his thumb over your upper back and stared into the fire. You slid the keychain off your finger and tucked it back into his jeans pocket with a smile. You couldn't believe he had it, after all this time, and never said a word.
"Why don't we go up to bed?" he mumbled as his eyes slid shut. You nodded and nuzzled your face into his chest.
"In a minute," you told him, your eyes closing. He hummed in response before his thumb slowed its movement on your back and you heard him softly snoring. It wasn't long until you had also drifted off, your arms wrapped around each other.

Stupid Letters, Stupid Flowers.
A Chris Sturniolo X Reader Fanfiction
In which: Chris broke up with y/n over something stupid. Months later, she’s cleaning out her closet to move when she finds a shoebox filled with things he had given her over the years. Stupid Letters, Stupid Flowers.
Warnings: angst, crying
A/N: I asked you guys if I should write this on a poll and you said yes so here it is, Stupid Letters, Stupid Flowers.
Tumblr media
I was honestly glad about moving. New state, new start. Thats what I told myself.
My floor was riddled with random items, boxes stacked in the corner as I packed my room. I was gonna miss my room, it was my comfort place after all.
I picked through the last items in my closet, my clothes already packed away into various suitcases and boxes.
My eyes landed on a shoebox in the back corner. I looked at it confused for a second before getting onto my tippy toes to grab it. I slid it off the shelf and and almost fell trying to catch it. The box fell to the floor, the lid sliding partially off.
My heart sank as I saw what was under the lid. Of course. I had forgotten all about that. I hesitantly picked up the box before carrying it over to my bed. I sat down and took the lid completely off. I sifted through the contents, nothing but Stupid Letters and Stupid Flowers. Full of broken promises.
A tear fell from my cheek, landing on one of said letters, the words at the bottom of the paper caught my eye. “Ill love you, always and forever.” A lie, of course. Because Chris had broken up with me for the stupidest of reasons.
Rain poured over me as I knocked on his door, when he finally answered, he didn’t look happy to see me.
“Im sorry. Im so sorry. My car broke down on the way and my phone died and I couldn’t text you. Please let me make it up to you.” I rambled desperately.
“Its our 3 year anniversary and you didn’t even show up.” He said angrily. His tone made me shiver more then the cold rain.
“I had to walk all the way here. Im sorry I really tried to be here on time.” I apologized again.
“Just go home. Its done, we’re done.” He muttered. My heart sank.
“Don’t say that. I really am sorry, okay? Just let me fix it.” I begged as a tear on my cheek mixed with the rain.
“No. Just go home y/n.” He repeated.
“Please don’t do this. I love you.” I sobbed out my words as I pleaded with him.
“Go.” He said before shutting the door in my face.
It wasn’t until later that I found out the real reason he had broken up with me, someone new. He was just looking for any excuse to break up with me so he could be with her, what was her name again? Oh right, Hannah.
If she wasn’t absolutely gorgeous I would say it was his loss, unfortunately, she’s much prettier than me. Her long straight brown hair and her perfect body, perfect teeth, she was simply, perfect. In a way I could never be.
He wanted her, I should accept that. But then again, if he really loved me those 3 years, he wouldn’t have replaced me.
I walked over to my desk again and pulled out the drawer. I picked up the small velvet box that rested in the very back. My promise ring, yet another lie. I opened up the box and watched as the ring sparkled in the faint light that crept through the blinds of my window.
I walked back over to the shoebox and stuck it inside, letting out a sigh as I lifted the it up and carried it downstairs and out to my car.
I got into the driver seat and placed it in the seat next to me before starting the engine. I pulled out my phone and clicked on his contact, each dial tone made me more nervous. Then he picked it up.
“Hello?” He questioned, his words falling through the speaker of the phone in my hand.
“I uh… have some of your stuff. My plane leaves tomorrow, can I bring it by your house?” I asked nervously.
I heard him sigh through the phone. “Yeah sure.” He said sounding a little annoyed.
“Okay, sorry I just wanted to ask first. I know you don’t wanna see me.” The last part came out as a whisper.
“Just come over y/n.” He said.
“Be there in 10. Bye.” I said before hanging up. Why do I feel like crying right now? We talked for 30 seconds and I wanna cry. Pathetic.
After a while I pulled up to his house, parking across the street. I slowly and hesitantly stepped onto his porch. My hand shook as I pressed the doorbell with my free hand.
After what felt like eternity the door opened, it was Matt. He gave me a confused look.
“Chris said I could come drop of the last of his things.” I explained looking at the box then back at him.
“Okay.” He said stepping aside and letting me walk in. He closed the door behind us and I walked down the stairs. I stood outside of his room for a moment before clenching my eyes shut and knocking, as if the simple action was deadly.
“Come in.” He said from inside, i slowly turned the handle, stepping inside. I nervously met his eyes, my mouth suddenly going dry.
“Here.” I said, my hands shaking as I extended the box to him. He picked it up with a questioning look before setting it down on the bed and opening it. I watched as his expression dropped, his eyes raking over the contents of the box. Then his gaze landed on the small velvet box under a few letters.
He picked it up, opening it with an expression as if he hoped it wasn’t what he thought.
“You don’t wanna keep it?” He asked quietly, his gaze turning to me.
“Why would I?” I whispered with a shrug. “Give it to Hannah, im sure she’d love it.” I said with a sad smile.
“Y/n. I broke up with Hannah weeks ago.” He whispered.
“Oh, im sorry I didn’t know.” I muttered looking at my feet. I really didn’t know, if I did, honestly, I would have celebrated.
“Its okay. You didn’t know. Thanks for the stuff.” He said looking back down and sifting through the letters. “Maybe Ill send you a new letter when you get settled in at your new house.” He said with a sad smile.
“Maybe.” I whispered, my expression matching his. He suddenly stepped toward me, his movements cautious. His arms wrapped around me, pulling me into a hug.
“Ill miss you. Even if you think I wont.” He muttered into my hair. I found myself melting into his touch, no matter how hard I tried to resist it.
“I think I should go.” I say pulling away from him. “I have to finish packing.” I explained, not meeting his gaze.
“Okay.” He nodded understandingly. “Bye y/n.”
“Bye Chris.”
So I left. The next day I would be on a plane, and I those letters and flowers would all be a distant memory of what used to be, and it wouldn’t be till I was going through airport security that I would find that Chris had slipped the ring into my purse during that hug. Of course.

make every mistake [H.Steinfeld]
Tumblr media
pairing: hailee steinfeld x reader
summary: you run into your ex at the vanity fair party, almost a full year after your breakup, and are forced to accept some hard truths.
warnings: technically none; bitter exes being bitter but also getting distracted; A LOT of references to cheating [very open to interpretation, though; more than one reference to JA; rubix please get over sunkissing challenge; did not proofread at all so it might not make the most sense at times; does this count as a ventfic?
wordcount: 1.5k
a/n: i was supposed to be writing something else [what a surprise lmao] but...it's sunkissing's anniversary and unfortunately, that song still means a lot to me and i needed to be nostalgic for a second. plus, last year's vanity fair party is what inspired me to start writing fanfiction again so...consider this a very weird, bitter, and nostalgic first anniversary celebration. i hope you enjoy and thank you so much for your love, support, and patience this past year, i plan to continue writing for you guys for a LONG while <3 [and yes, this is sunkissing (sad girl edition)]
* * * * * * * Whoever coined the phrase,”wrong place, right time,” as a good thing seriously owes you some compensation. It implies that there could be something possibly good in the situation you’re in but what could be good about being stuck at the same party your ex is also at?
Of course, that person might get along with your friends who have been trying to convince you that this situation is a fantastic opportunity for you to show how happy you are. Something that would work if it were true.
But it’s not.
How could happiness be anywhere on your radar when every time you interact with someone, they’re quick to remind you your ex-girlfriend is currently parading around with a quarterback? Not to mention, the amount of cheating rumors hasn’t been helping you feel much better about the situation.
Maybe you’re overly petty or arrogant, maybe even codependent, but time has done little to heal the wounds caused by a certain actress.
Which is why you were supposed to be out having fun in the first place…although maybe all of this could have been avoided if a certain 22-year-old hadn’t lied her ass off and told you there was no chance in hell your ex would show up.
All you know is you’re stuck in a room full of people you don’t care about, anxiously looking around every few minutes hoping you won’t run into her. It’s exhausting but it’s also highly addictive.
You’re in the middle of debating ditching Billie and the rest of your friends instead of torturing yourself for another hour when you catch a glimpse of the person you’ve been trying to avoid all night.
Your eyes find her for just a few seconds and yet the whole world seems to stop all at once.
Just like the first time.
You wouldn’t say you have a habit of romanticizing the past…except when it comes to Hailee Steinfeld and her ridiculously enchanting energy. A lot of things have changed since the day you met but the one thing you’re sure will remain a part of you forever is the way your heart takes off running when she's around.
Running away would be easy. It would probably be the solution to your impending problem and yet you stay. Because as much as you hate to admit it…you’ve missed her. Seeing just a glimpse of her feels like ecstasy after spending so long trying to erase the thought of her from your mind.
You know you’re chasing after someone who isn’t even there anymore, someone who vanished the day Hailee chose to go out to dinner with that guy instead of coming home to you. The person you love has been shoved back into far more closets than you can count but you’re an addict and the thought of getting her back for just a few minutes gives you a greater high than anything else ever could.
So, despite the thousands of reasons not to, you find yourself walking toward her. You tell yourself it’ll be fine, she’s in the middle of ordering a drink and the chances of her paying attention to you are close to zero.
You quickly learn close to zero isn’t enough.
You arrive at the bar right when she’s turning around to go back to whoever it is she’s pretending to get along with tonight. Her eyes instantly find yours and whatever liquid courage you had fades away in that very same instant.
For a second, you expect her to walk away without even acknowledging your presence, but then her mouth opens. “I can’t believe you actually left the house for this.”
There were a thousand sentences you were hoping to hear her say and the one she chose is nowhere on it. It does nothing except remind you of all the infuriating reasons why you can’t be around her anymore.
“Gee thanks, don’t sound too excited.”
She merely shrugs, acting like she can’t see the way your smile drops. “Just being honest.”
At some point in your relationship, you would have made fun of her for sounding so much like the characters she loves to play on TV but today, her attitude pisses you off like nothing else.
“Honest, huh?” You scoff. “That's gold coming from the cheater.”
There’s a flash of something in her eyes, mostly annoyance, and you know damn well that’s exactly what you’re looking for. A sign that she’s still human despite how much she loves to pretend like she doesn’t have feelings anymore.
Unfortunately, you’re sure her reaction has more to do with the fact that you’re in a room full of people who could overhear you than anything else.
“Oh, come on. I didn't cheat on you,” she says in the exact same tone as all the times before.
“Right, right, you just casually had dinner with your new boyfriend while we were still dating.”
A crack begins to form in her facade but you’re too annoyed to celebrate.
All she does is groan before placing her drink down on the bar and coming toward you. She wraps her hand around your arm, seemingly unaware of the sparks her touch ignites, and drags you toward the first secluded area she finds.
“Are we seriously going to have this fight again?” She questions you once you’re away from prying eyes.
“Sure,” you reply. “The only thing we ever do is fight.”
“Stop acting like I’m the only one in the wrong here. We both made mistakes.”
You scoff. “You’re right, I trusted you wholeheartedly. What a stupid mistake.”
“Oh my God.” She throws her hands up, frustration dripping out of her every pore, and yet she makes no move to walk away from you. “You haven’t changed one bit.”
“Changing isn’t always such a good thing. Just ask Martini and Brando, I bet they love the weather in Buffalo.”
It’s another cheap shot and you know it. Most of all, you see it. The flash of hurt that lingers in the eyes you know so well.
“Don’t,” she warns.
You can’t stop yourself from adding more fuel to the fire despite her warning. “Why? Is that more honesty than you can handle?”
“y/n, stop. You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You’re right, I don’t know. Because I have no idea who you are anymore.”
It suddenly strikes you that you’ve had the same exact conversation with her before. You don’t know why you keep doing the same thing and hoping for a different ending. Especially considering Hailee is the most stubborn person you’ve ever met.
“You’re not the only one,” she says with a sigh, practically deflating in front of your eyes. “Believe it or not, you’re not the only person I’ve disappointed lately.”
“No offense but that’s the most accurate thing you’ve said in a while.”
A small chuckle escapes her and the sound instantly brings you back to simpler times. To spontaneous dates at the beach, random car drives to the middle of nowhere to watch the sunset, sleepless nights spent helping her rehearse for an early morning shoot the next day.
To being in love.
Back when your love actually mattered.
“Do you ever regret it?” You find yourself whispering into the space between you after a long silence. “Regret us?”
Her answer might split you in two but you're tired of the desperation that clings to you from the sheer amount of unsaid things that still linger in your mind.
“No,” she replies, her voice so quiet you almost miss it. “I regret how things ended, I regret what I did to you…do you?”
You shake your head before you can stop yourself, the truth spilling out of you just as fast as the tears that painted your face the day she left. “I regret…how much I love you…how impossible it is for me to hate you.”
For a split second, you catch sight of the Hailee you once fell in love with. The one with warm eyes and the softest smile imaginable. The one who could easily break your walls down with a single chuckle.
“Give it a few days,” she replies. “It’ll stop being so impossible.”
It’s ridiculous how enamored her words make you. It’s also stupid and infuriating that no matter how badly you want to walk away from her, you can’t find a way to make your feet move. You’re stuck and that growing smirk on her face tells you she knows exactly how much you’re struggling.
“No witty comeback?” She questions, her head tilting slightly to the side in an almost mocking gesture.
“I’m just trying to decide if I should slap you or not.” Your words hold no real bite to them, even if you wish they did, and you both have to pretend neither of you notice the way you lean toward her.
Her eyes betray her as they slide down your face until they reach your lips. Her gaze rests there for longer than would be appropriate for an exchange between old friends. But you’re not old friends. You’re something more. Something that exceeds categories and reasons.
Something that rests completely in the space between your mouths.
It should be easy to turn away from her…but it isn’t…and you can’t stop yourself from meeting her half-way when she leans in close enough for you to feel her breath on your lips.
It’s a mistake.
But it’s one you make as easily as falling in loving her.

THIS HAS BEEN IN MY DRAFTS FOR SO LONG (SINCE MAY???) HOLY SHIT
In Hiding
Two secret agents suddenly have to hide together. Tight spaces and itchy noses might make it difficult, though.
this is my first fic that ive been working on forEVER (i kept. um. getting distracted while writing...) sorry if there's errors!!
tags: sneezing while hiding, stifling, oc has the kink, failed holdbacks, inducing, allergies, i need to write them having sex now
Listening for the others outside, Audrey shifted slightly--as much as she could--to get a bit more comfortable in the space. Her and Robin were pressed up against each other suddenly. It was dark inside, only slightly illuminated by the cracks between the door and the wall, so she couldn't see Robin's facial expression inside the... was it a closet? a locker? She hadn't looked long enough to check, only rushing in as soon as she heard more voices. Whatever it was, it was way smaller than anticipated, and uncomfortable--she made a mental note to schedule an appointment with her chiropractor.
Of course it just had to be Robin she was stuck with. Pent up feelings toward them made for a very awkward position, as her struggle to remain professional began to crumble.
Suddenly, Audrey noticed a shift in Robin's breath, which she could feel on the base of her neck. It was sharper now, and she felt their body begin to tense up.
"When was the last time someone cleaned in here?" They whispered, soft enough that only Audrey could hear. "Shit, I have to sneeze. Can I muffle it into your shoulder?"
Fuck.
Audrey simply nodded, and Robin shifted to the suit fabric that she was wearing, hovering over it as their hitches grew.
Audrey could feel her heart pounding over every trembling breath. She wasn't paying any attention to the people outside anymore; how could she?
"Ha--haaahh..." Each hitch was a shake in their chest, just audible enough to pull Audrey in as the tension rose. She'd seen their nostrils flare the previous times, straight nose crinkling at the top. God, she wished she could see it now.
"hhHHXXSH--" they jerked, stifling into Audrey's shoulder, causing her to shudder.
Quietly sniffing, Robin pulled back for just a moment, giving a sniffle. "Fuck, sorry, I don't want to get your suit all gross."
"It's fine; I don't mind," Audrey muttered, attempting to hide her fluster. She really didn't mind.
"Shit, aahnother one--hh... hahh..."
She could feel their warm breath hitching against her again, quicker this time.
"HXXSHMF--"
This time they miscalculated, aiming into Audrey's neck instead, whose stiff outward appearance shattered as she melted in the moment.
"Audrey--"
She snapped back, trying to regain any sense of levelheadedness. "Hm?"
"Your... hhhair," they whispered into her ear, voice trembling, and Audrey realized in the faint illumination that her hair was now completely brushed up against their nose, some of it inside, tickling their already sensitive nostrils.
"Shit, let me--" she cut herself off, attempting to squirm around and move her hair out of the way. However, the moving just irritated the itch, and she realized that only a bit too late.
"Don't move, you'll ju... ah--HAH--H'ASHHXX!"
Robin just barely muffled in time into a now dizzy Audrey.
"What was that?" A voice boomed from outside, and the duo froze in place.
Sniffling, Robin scrunched up their face in the dark, something Audrey could now see as her vision adjusted.
She shook her head at them. Any noise now would give their position away and get them captured.
They nodded their head back at her--one they Audrey loved and hated about them. If Robin was going to sneeze, Robin was going to sneeze.
"Hhaahhh..." They began to hitch again, tilting their head back slightly. "HAhh-! Hhh..."
Audrey could see their nose trembling in the dark, their hands instinctively trying to reach up to it, so, without thinking, she took matters into her own hands and shoved a finger under their nose.
It was wet from the previous sneezes, and Robin flinched in enough surprise to distract their nose for the moment being.
Eventually, they could hear the sound of chairs shifting and people walking out as one of the voices grumbled about the end of a meeting.
After a few minutes of painstaking silence, they opened the locker to find the room empty again, and both sighed in relief.
"Okay, we've got the files, lets get the fuck out of here," Audrey commanded, looking over at Robin, who had a rolled up tissue shoved up their red nose with a dazed look. "What are you doing?!"
"I d,diidn't--hah--get the laaahsst sneeze out," they hitchily replied.
Crossing her arms, Audrey continued to stare, pretending to be unammused.
They sniffled, taking out the tissue. "Fuck, I can't get it."
Audrey rolled her eyes. "Here, let me do it."
Robin complied, and Audrey rolled up another end of the tissue and placed it in their left nostil, rubbing up and down the insides. She could see their fluster, but assumed it was simply from never having induced before.
"That reh, really tiiickles--"
"That's the point."
Now that they were in the light, this time, Audrey could see Robin's desperate scarlet nostrils flaring and trembling, begging for relief. She stuck the tissue further, circling the back of their nose.
"Ah, Audrey, I'm gonnahh--hAh--sneeh, eeze," they warned through hitched breaths.
Audrey didn't move, simply pushing in further until she hit a particually sensitive spot. "Shh, don't try to talk, just focus."
"Hhah... hh--hAH...!" They leaned their head back with closed, watery eyes, reaching up a hand out of instinct, though, it was futile; Audrey was in the way. Robin lurched forward, letting out their first unstifled wet sneeze in hours, and, unintentionally, all over Audrey.
"HhhHHAI'CHEW!"
Sniffing, they wiped their nose. "Fuck, that felt really good. I need to try that. You're great at that."
Audrey shrugged, but couldn't help but give a smirk. "I'm good at everything," she replied cockily.
With that out of the way, the two of them left. Both would think about the incident later that night, individually relieving the tension they'd had beforehand.
