see I think like the main problem with tcw is that it has this sitcom energy where everything is set back to zero after every arc which absolutely demolishes any sense of progression or character development
#So like there are some damn good clone wars arc#Mortis arc umbara arc siege of zygerrian arc are all so good#But they all (along with most tcw arcs) exist in their own little bubbles where they rarely touch or interact with each other#You can’t go back to zero after killing three force gods. you just fucking can’t#That changes the entire universe on such a fundamental level it’s almost absurd#And no this isn’t a problem intrinsic to anthologies before one of you brings up that point#Because the clone wars does have arcs that impact the plot greatly (mandalore arc chip arc wrong jedi arc etc etc)#But all of those are followed through in the seventh season which is completely linear#Anyways I’ll go in depth later#And also justice for my girl barriss#star wars#tcw critical#insert original post tags here

#it’s rarely talked ab since jackie was overall an incredible mother but.#john himself said that before she married onassis … there was this emotional distance . a block her children couldn’t get through due to#the trauma of losing jack and then bobby#so it’s like… here jack and john are about the same age here and they both kind of had to find an independent sort of footing themselves#like i think there are parallels there between both of them as really young children that aren’t typically recognized#since jackie was more of an involved and affectionate mother than rose but i do think that there was a sense of loneliness there#in jack and john’s childhoods respectively#and i think a lot of suppressed anger and confusion that john had which jack had as well#anyway… just some thoughts . 💭 i used to talk ab the overarching family before instead of a few select figures#so this was a little bit of that lol!#like john jr is so much his father’s son and we gotta talk about it more! he wasn’t just this idk.. i left my phone in my room and picked up an actual physical book and sat down on the balcony and read the whole thing can everyone please be so so proud of me
#for reasons that'd take way too long to explain im living at my grandmas house rn for around a month (she's not here)#and she has like a billion detective novels which i love but i lost the ability to read when i was like 12#i do read books as pdfs sometimes but even that's rare... and they're usually dr w.ho/t.orchwood#it was curtain of poirot fame which I've seen like a billion times coz it's one of my#favourite poirot stories but i've never read it#ms christie is crazyyy coz somehow i still gasped out loud multiple times despite knowing the ending#it's also really cool that you 1000% can guess the ending if you pay attention#i almost always guess the murderer immediately w detective things but i usually watch shows where it's way easier imo#i mean i guess them in books too but they make it less easy coz shows have a limited cast and it's always obvious#anyway damn... i really wanna get back to reading so im gonna try to read other ones as well#she has tons of books in english hungarian and german so the selection is endless#mostly crime novels which is great coz i love those. no prizes for guessing who i get it from#barking

MAY have a lead on an apartment, hoping to see it tomorrow, but also they want someone to sign the lease as soon as they can get it cleaned (this week!!!) and moving into an apartment on my birthday weekend was not the entertainment I had planned.
#no idea what the other people who live there are like#but it's in a residential area and actual apartments and not a home conversion which I do consider a plus#and it's only a block from my job#they also accept cats. The way I approach love stories is so interesting, like I care not for both sexual and romantic part, both don't exactly need to be present for you to see that characters trust each other and feel safe
Same with family, platonic stuff and friendships, feelings of trust and whatever else worth so much in all of this
Love story being a love story just means it'll happen faster and more... Boldly?? Bc that's the main focus and all
Also since people love romance so much you get more stuff in the fandom win/win
Although I'd say it took me a loooong time to get into anything, because I rarely see something and go THAT'S A SHIP! nah, that's a friendship, that's cute and sweet
Then we have toxic stuff and that's the intoxicating codependency that makes me want to analyze it all, like wow those characters are horrible to each other
But I usually have like two to balance each other, bc as funny toxic stuff is, I want some sweet stuff be it a friendship or a healthy ship
#I'm a cat by nature so every time a ship is like a kind character taming a cat I just start giggling bc yay comfort food#Then there's a rational part that is offended by it bc that's not canon >:(#But comfort food affects my brain like a blanket and sweet tea in a cold day#Same with fully healthy stuff although it's really rare fir me to make them clear#But like for example that's Sifloop and Isafrin for me one is not so healthy and one is#But bonus points are that sifloop is like two cats comforting each other sometimes and that's double giggles#Anyway I'm a simple person and I care only for the specific characters ships use since I won't just read something randomly and go#'oh that's perfect' bc I need to already know everyone and their initial dynamics#Anyway before I was in fandoms I never actually did this bc I again don't have a shipper in me that was from talking to my friends#Like when I saw romance I'd go “oh sweet!” and that's it I didn't understand why should I cheer or something bc sure???#Especially those 2000s shows that made SURE to have canon pairings and I didn't understand the appeal of it all#I'm still somewhat not in the loop but take isat for example again - I did cheer when Isa finally confessed bc I enjoyed their friendquest#Which is why I was like YAY YOU DID ITTTT and was glad they know that they're here for each other romantic or not#And then you have something like SvtFoE where shipping is the main thing and it was messyyyy#Anyway! If I ever make my OC interact keep all this in mind - I'm not shipping any of my characters#Maybe they're in a toxic something but that's not a ship as well! bringing positivity for once: today at work i was told that my coworkers said i'm good at tutoring 🥹 and yesterday one coworker sent me a message himself thanking me for my tutoring 🥹 and then my therapist told me the others in this group thing i'm taking part in all like me 🥹😭😭
#actually therapy was very... good today. like. made me feel good. i'm still like scared but i feel like maybe i'm not doomed#which is a new thing for me lol#also i made known again my desire to do more hours at work and the hr person said mh i see here they were already considering for you......#1 more hour. which lol considering how i'm already doing pretty few hours that almost feels like a joke like 1h and they're not even sure 😭#she said in the future it'll be more for everyone gradually. but she said she'd bring it up now with who makes the decisions and we'll see#i'm hoping the amount of commitment and quality i bring when i do my job will mean something otherwise i'd feel very crap lol#especially bc like i think they gave A Lot more than 1 more hour to a coworker that's been here for like 2 months lol ....... doesn't feel#very good tbh. like i do my best and more all the time and have for almost 3 years and i rarely get appreciation or smth lol but when it#comes up i'm told my coordinators are happy with me they've never complained i'm doing great....... but maybe getting smth back for all my#hard work would be good? i think they rely too much on the fact i really like it there but like i need to survive i need money and i also#don't want to be made a fool of. you know. i'm way too much of a doormat but how this will play out will be key. i love my workplace and#i understand that being a small company and a social cooperative means there's less money but if your budget is big enough to give#someone who's been here 2 months like 10 more hours than the standard it can be big enough to give someone who's busted their ass off for#3 years just as much. or i'll feel like i'm being fucked over lol#we'll see#i said i was bringing positivity lol i mean mostly i'm happy i'm just like. still dealing with a bit at work#and while being told i'm good is great i do hope it translates into something favorable to me bc i'm young and this is my first real job#and i love it there but i'm not dumb and i don't like being taken advantage of. i don't want to but if need be i can look elsewhere#anyway lol i'm glad that people like me and/or my ability to explain and teach? and apparently i'm not completely awful? go figure

Deadmeat Rem AU
We've seen Twin Swap AUs & recently, I've thrown my own hat (re: Purple Hyacinth AU) into the loop. However, upon rereading @lost-technology's Survivor's Guilt fic & going through our dms, I propose a more unorthodox role swap prompt:
AU where Vash & Rem swap places.
Vash is a Plant engineer who became a SEEDS navigator after losing Alex (he can be Vash's bf or relative in this AU). He's there when Tesla is born & has to live on after her (murder) death (which was his fault, he should've been better, should've done more, fought harder, they were gifted an angel & they slaughtered her). He's the goofy dad who's there through the twin's formative years, desperately trying to be better because he knows his best isn't & never will be enough.
And okay, I'm spitballing a bit here, but imagine: how would this impact Rem? The poignancy of her character comes from her role as much as her personality. In canon, she seemed to be an only child, so how would having Nai as an older brother affect her? How would she handle the Humanoid Typhoon's role? We, as the audience have only known canon!Rem through the 1 year Vash spent with her & snippets of her past, so how would her 150 year life span go?
Or if you want to shake things up further, maybe Nai & Tesla swap roles too. Maybe Nai is the one born first. A boy Plant who could produce metallic material, a weapon at worst & a tool at best. They name him Knives so no one forgets that & Vash nicknames him Nai to say 'no, I do NOT agree with that!'.
Thus, Tesla (maybe with electricity powers??) is the one who decides to end humanity because god forbid women commit crimes /j. Is this is also lowkey inspired by @shelternmberone's Roleswap AU? Yes. GIVE US MORE VILLAIN TESLA AUS!
If you want to go another mile: maybe Luida & Brad take Meryl & Milly/Roberto's places as Ship 3's residents & investigative reporters/insurance agents respectively.
Anyways, what I'm trying to say is, the sky's the limit rlly, which is the whole point of AUs like this.
