I was looking it up because we were curious about if there's a word for it that has more common use and. How has the endogenic community coined thousands of terms but they don't have a word for "another world experienced by a system such as through walk-ins, gateways, or headmate past lives"
Feel fee to toss me something if I'm wrong because there is no way we are the only system in this community to just string together something like "exoworld"

the Damar Hamilin situation is horrific for a lot of reasons, obviously, but it still just... i am honestly at a loss for words at how the NFL is&has been handling it.
like, this wasn't a mistake or an accident, this was a function of the game&a clean play. there was no foul, as far as i could tell or have heard. an extremely healthy&well trained young man almost fucking died as a function of the game, &the NFL is not only trying to deny their callousness at the event in general:
they have got whole cardiologists on deck trying to explain what happened like it wasn't a CLEAN HIT THAT STOPPED HIS HEART ON NATIONAL TELEVISION:
Tumblr media
[image text: From your perspective, what are the possible causes of Hamlin's cardiac arrest?
Dr. Baggish: There's a long list: there are genetic and congenital abnormalities which could be at play, I know there's been speculation about the blunt force from the tackle, but I would say that it's really premature to make any speculation. In fact, to jump to a conclusion would be a mistake. The diagnosis of commotio cordis, for example [which refers to a fatal disruption of the heart rhythm from a blow to the chest], is what we call a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning other things have been eliminated. We would never conclude that unless other factors have been ruled out. /text]
this shit is fucking evil.

Reminder that Jstor lets you access 100 academic articles/book excerpts/journals (I believe per month) for free!! If you like a topic or a novel or a type of art, I guarantee there's some really kickass essays on that topic sitting there waiting to be read
And that's not even getting into the many many open access journals and books, which don't even count towards your total!!

deseret book is more persistent than duolingo.
i ordered 2 books for a church research project on Black saints in the early Church and also in the Reorganization, on which the one book had a small section us and all had info from the our shared early church history, and it was an ebook too!
and i get physical mail from them once a month. i have no idea how to cancel.
herald house, the community of christ publishing house, contacts me much less, and i buy books from them all the time.
and oh their church book app reminds me to read my scriptures and the words of their prophets regularly if it's not in sleep mode.
i have to admire the effort behind it, ngl.
#tumblrstake#the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints#Community of Christ#latter day saint#deseret book#i highly recommend both books#black saints in a white church#and “My Lord He Calls Me” edited by Alice Faulkner Burch#she's really awesome so pls support her#i hang out with the genesis group bc i am playing with a similar group for community of christ#because the Black saints expressed interest#actually Black Saints in a White Church may have been elsewhere by Signature Books#you can read it for free on archive.org#and if you're at BYU you can access it too and papers on it#i'll promo them in another post eventually#white saints in my church don't get my vision bc their like “we never had a priesthood ban”#but i literally had to do the project bc they were speaking over us regarding anti-Black racism in our D&C#and people individually reached out. like Black church leaders. bc they be doing this.#we made so much noise and the first presidency reached out to ME bc i wrote a paper that spread through the church about it#wild moment. but yeah we need something like the Genesis Group and they were willing to help me out a bit#its too much for me to handle on my own tho. esp with the revitalizing our intepretation and use of the Book of Mormon projects#i always put too much in the tags. i should write a post about that and share my article#it was on our D&C 116 which is like our L-dS OD 2 on Race in the priesthood and specifically ordination of Black men#which they (some of the white saints) wanted removed 🙄 bc of the “ministers to their own race” part which led to segregation being allowed#but also explicitly affirms God calls people of all races to priesthood and also that Black congregations didn’t need white pastor oversight#so just leave it. and ig you feel guilty...cope#i personally believe it to be inspired but flawed#it was literally a mostly white church in 1865. not excusing tho bc some sects were always fully integrated like the Bickertonites#they had a Black apostle in 1915. representation at high levels of leadership#oh and women in the priesthood from the jump. if limited

With the news in Hathras, India, remember that crowd crush (NOT a stampede) is 100% preventable and 100% the responsibility of organizers of events and local authority, NOT the people or victims involved in the crush, who often do not even realize that there is a crush occuring
Link about Hathras:
Link about crushes vs "stampedes", and why you should be wary of the use of the latter word:

Oh yeah, it’s big brain time.
So, there’s a pokemon glitch, and no I'm not talking about Missingno. However, it is referred to as Missingno’s “sister glitch”, being more dangerous, (supposedly) being able to wipe your save data completely, and even making your whole party turn invisible if placed at the front. The name of this glitch is “M”, that being the only discernible letter in its name. Now, it takes many forms, but the most common (from what I've seen)?
Is a Charizard.
So basically what I'm saying is the autism won and I immediately thought of Miki

Classic Who explores ideas, New Who explores morals
classic who is like 'i see this trend, lets explore what might happen if that trend continues and let the audience figure out what it's talking about and come to their own conclusions.'
new who is like 'this trend is BAD and i'm going to PREACH A SPEECH about why it's going to RUIN EVERYTHING' and it's so much more exhausting
#wren rambles#doctor who#this brought on by me watching orphan 55#which had SUCH a fun concept#and then absolutely FACEPLANTED with the doctor moralizing at the end#like yes doctor who has ALWAYS explored topical and political issues#but never is there a definitive I Am Telling You This Is Right message#whereas now I just had to sit here and watch 13 preaching at me?#ughghg#explore the idea but don't shove it down my throat#classic who had an episode (Ice Warriors) exploring climate change as one aspect of the story#talking about how all the plants were removed and that messed with the atmosphere etc.#but that was just a SMALL PART of the whole episode and it was never outright condemned (it was made clear it was BAD and the root problems#but that was never the BIG ISSUE the Doctor Lectured His Companions about) (not that victoria or jamie could do anything lol)#plus this feeds into my issues with 13's run (which started during 12's somewhat but less so)#where the Doctor is painted as the Narratively Right one#where when she says something that's what the narrative wants you to BELIEVE#which coming from Two and Three's run is WILD#because Two is chaotic and murderous when he thinks he's right#and he's manipulative and deceptive at times#and Three is selfish and pouty and rude#and don't get me wrong Thirteen has her issues and I lvoe them#HOWEVER. she's pretty much always RIGHT she's the Word Of God when it comes to moral things#and this more than anything is my biggest issues with Modern Who#mostly 12 and 13's eras#so i hope we move out of that somewhat in the new era but i'm not super holding up hopes (especially after star beast)#maybe one day i'll write a proper full article about it but GOSH#i don't watch this show to be preached at. I watch it for a fun/tragic scifi romp and also to see interesting ideas explored#and reflect the climate of the world and how society influences media#explore the idea of climate change turning the world into a post apocalypse! that's such a fun idea and topical!

what if instead of supporting a vile industry that turns women into commodities to be bought and sold and unfailingly results in the abuse and brutalization of women regardless of how “safe” you make it we just….didn’t do that.
sex is not a service to be bought. women’s bodies are not products to be used. listen to the vast majority of ex-prostitutes and porn actors and the abuse, trauma, and pain they suffer. this is not an “industry” you can make “safe”. it is predicated on antifeminist and dehumanizing conceptions of women.
hi hun! I think it’s weird u just made up the fact that I support the sex work industry. if you go back to my post and actually read it, you’ll see I never said that at all! maybe that will help u calm down!
but since u came here to make assumptions about me, I have some questions for you! have you tried to listen other women that are by choice in the industry, conducting their careers through their own autonomy and volition? have you considered that because women have choice, women will make choices to engage in sex work and you can’t control that?
moreover, why won’t you engage in the conversation to make it safer? it will not go away in the snap of a finger, and therefore we must discuss how to make this industry safer IN THIS MOMENT? It is immature to disregard any conversation of safety and assume the industry will end world wide instantly. If dismantling the sex work industry is your goal, do you not think safety is apart of that process before the industry is fully dismantled?
sex work is an ancient industry, I do not believe it will end in my life time because women have choice and because men can be so evil. we can disagree about what will happen, but it’s this type of stuff that baffles me. Why can’t we discuss safety???
also key word in my post: “safer”! I am not educated enough to know if this industry could ever be considered “safe” but it’s common sense that it could be “safer”. but right, you didn’t actually read my post so u wouldn’t have known that!

the majority of the cis people in my everyday life these days know at least a handful of trans people either personally or professionally and/or are generally thoughtful people who do their own research, so I’ve gotten pretty used to them having half a clue about gender, which left me largely unprepared to respond to my coworker asking me about Trans Politics TM in the middle of the work day. gave her a deer-in-headlights look for a good ten seconds because like, I don’t actually always mind being someone’s gender liaison, but a) I think I’m the first out trans person you’ve ever known and I don’t think you’re ready for my full-throated opinion on this so I gotta pull together a good gentle 101 real quick and b) it’s one in the afternoon and I’m in the middle of looking over our suture stock, can I maybe get back to you on this one
