I Love Us

Honestly, I'm so, so very glad AvA is the first fandom I've actually been an active participant in.

LONG RANT INCOMING

Throughout the years, I have "been in fandoms", but I never felt like posting my own art or works, commenting on vids (i didn't have a youtube account back then, still don't), or being anything other than a silent observer.

Back in March, when I came home from that math competition, and found AvMath in my recommendeds, and just clicked on it, I did not expect to get dragged into a fandom about stick figures, of all things. I remember watching AvPhysics directly after, then finding "Wanted", and watching it with no context. I remember going to the wiki, seeing all of the content that was made, and and binging AvM and the actual shorts and literally everything else.

And most of all, I remember thinking, "I wish I could just erase all of this from my mind and experience the magic all over again."

In May, I took a chance and went to Ao3. I knew it was a site to post fanfiction, but it had never been something I was interested in. But I was just curious, to see if fanfiction about this amazing fandom really existed. I didn't have an account, no; I think I just wanted to see.

There were about 1600-1700 fics on there about AvA, during that time. I didn't know how hits worked or kudos worked, but I just remember scrolling down until I could find something that looked like a lot of people had liked it.

And even then, I clearly remember the first fic I touched. "Identity", by LeenaFreeBird (I'll link it at the bottom). I absolutely loved it. I spent the rest of the month simply reading, and consuming all of the cool hcs, learning what fan terms meant, having an idea for my own fic that I thought, back then, I could never write.

Because I didn't.

I never made an account or wrote. I never left comments because part of me though people without an account wouldn't be able to, and that was just habit, at this point.

And even though I stepped slightly away from there in the months of June and July (we were in the process of moving halfway across the country, I had just watched the new Demon Slayer season, and upon recommendation had binged all of Haikyuu in a week), I always made sure to keep updated on whatever new AvA/M videos had been posted.

In August, I went back on Ao3.

SO MANY AMAZING FICS HAD BEEN WRITTEN IN THE SPAN I WAS AWAY.

I remember binging all of them for the month. I sat alone at lunch (as I was new I didn't have any friends), just reading them on my phone and getting sucked back into there.

In September AvI began. On a whim I logged back into my tumblr account that I had made like 5 years ago in 4th grade to post random rambling stuff about my life (I tagged nothing but my username wth), and redid my entire blog. I was sooo happy when one of my posts reached 100 notes.

I felt way stronger, and way braver. I joined the invite queue for Ao3, because I decided I DID want an account, and I DID want to post my own fics.

And everyone was (and is) SO NICE about it. They love my fics and posts (which I still consider really crappy, btw) to pieces, and always give me good comments. Even my bad fanart (another thing I got the courage to post during this time). Shipping wars never happen here (if they did, I wouldn't know about it). Rarepairs are appreciated, and we unanimously know the ships that should be completely illegal (not naming ship names here).

Everything and everyone is loved, and this is like the one little corner of the Internet where mostly all is safe and your opinion is valued. Sure, your fan theory may be wrong, but people here don't go and tell you "that's so stupid lol, no way that's true". They'll give you actual feedback, explain the evidence that falsifies it, or add to it because they like it.

Even on YouTube, if someone posts a yellue ship video, for example, they'll get hate, or "the color quad are just siblings lol", or "they r stickmen why are u shipping them". If someone HCs Blue as a girl (ik that's been debunked where we are at rn), they'll get a comment saying "it's stickman for a reason".

Like, let people have their opinions. Alan has never confirmed the color quad as siblings, or their origin story. I know he has said that he would like to avoid romance by not making female characters, but it's not like the people who ship yellue or grapeduo barge up to his door and demand he makes it canon. They're just peaceful, and everything that you're saying is fanon. For all we know, four different animators could have collabed on the sticksfight website and each animated a different character (not saying that's true, but we don't know).

And even with hollowhead pairs. Alan created them, yes, but how does Creator transfer to father in this scenario? We don't know, because he hasn't confirmed the hollowheads as siblings either. They still get hate on YouTube.

But Tumblr just loves everyone. The AvA community, for example, will always make you feel like you posted something good. They lift you up, not put you down. They appreciate your headcanons because it provides a new way of looking at things.

They appreciate you.

I feel so much better about putting myself out there, and I know I will do so more in the future. I now cannot comprehend how someone can see all of this content and think "they are just stick figures". No they aren't. They are stick figures with trauma, feelings, pain, heroic qualities, fatal flaws.

You, tumblr, makes me feel this way.

Why does Gen talks in pig Latin Theory

I did info dump on a reblog of a post of @ kaibutsushidousha

and I wanted to show it on the main tag…sooo I'm posting it as a post, here you go!

HI!! I have a theory, but I cannot confirm it as canon.

I have investigated so many things about gen I even bought a book exclusive to Japan only, because it mentions a bit of his past

With the information and another theory's I discover many interesting things

Here is a bit that I translated with an extension of Google (Very likely to have mistranslations, sorry!):

And with the question about the pig Latin

I like to look at it as something he learned for living in abuse as a child, I say he lived in abuse because of the previous citations I did.

I can reinforce this theory with another theory that could be canon, which is that Gen has Canities subita

So with that (and other thing I didn't mention because this is a Tumblr post) I believe Gen lived in abuse for a big part of his life, also this is reinforced with the fact that Gen used to dye his hair fully black, which could be interpreted as him wanting to forget his past.

And now with that, He learned Pig Latin as a way to survive in his childhood, I based this on the next citations.

With that information that I found, I created the theory he used Pig Latin to communicate in secret with people (probably with the “nephew” That is mentioned in his biography…not sure if it could be a mistranslation, sadly I don't know Japanese yet so if anyone knows what it actually said, I would be so thankful!)

In short;

I believe that Gen lived in abuse as a child and learned Pig Latin so he wouldn't get in more problems, and he kept using it mostly when in stress!

But I'm just an internet user who loves this character so much that went very far to use a Japanese VPN to only buy a book he couldn't even understand only because it has a bit of his favorite character backstory and then went on rabbit hole!

THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO WATCHING MILGRAM (as of the end of the 2nd trial)

INTRO

What's Milgram? Milgram is a multimedia project whose central concept revolves around the audience judging the character's crimes. All of them stand accused of murder after being brought to the mysterious prison of Milgram, but were their actions truly wrong? Only the audience, through the medium of the amnesiac guard Es, can decide that. Vote them GUILTY or INNOCENT according to your ethics or your whims over the course of three trials , and watch how their lives change in response.

You can read a list of trigger warnings here. Who's working on it? The musical and visual components are led by the vocaloid producer Deco*27 and his employees at OTOIRO, with him working on the lyrics and composing half the songs, while the other half is handled by Rockwell. Teddyloid often works in the songs' arrangement as well. Yamanaka Takuya is in charge of all writing in the MILGRAM project, except for the novels and their manga adaptation which were done by Nami Tsumi. His works tend to revolve around trauma and people's inner darkness, and are often music-related multimedia franchises such as the Caligula Effect series, Utagoe wa Mille-Feuille and Boisterous Six. (Fun fact: the last one was prompted by the thought that if he made a collab with the Takuya Yamanaka who's part of The Oral Cigarettes, maybe people would stop confusing them. It did not work.)

How do I vote? You'll need an account for either Twitter or LINE (Japanese texting app). Then go to the JUDGE page in the official website and click on the icon of a character that's not grayed out. (If they all are, then you need to wait until the new trial starts). You'll be asked to give the site permission to use your Twitter/LINE account. The website should remember your credentials afterwards. You can vote once a day every day for as long as the poll is open. The general rhythm of the project is that a song releases, then another releases next month and the next one takes two months to come out. Since each poll lasts for three months, this means that there should always be two characters available for voting, unless there are delays or you're at the very end or start of a trial.

How does this guide work? / Usage notes Due to Tumblr's restriction on the amount of links per post, this guide will have three parts. They're organized content according to platform/format, but I also paid mind to original release date and overall importance to the plot.

I recommend watching all the first trial content before starting with the second trial. So, begin with the 1st set of voicelines, then the videos and timelines, then double back onto the second set. Everything from the Illustrations and Previews section onwards isn't part of the main game and can be ignored if desired.

I've added some supplementary notes and explanations when I thought it was relevant. Sometimes the information is part of a larger theory post, but please don't take the link as endorsement of any particular theory.

There will be links to the MILGRAM wiki, which is not spoiler-free. If you navigate to the character's main pages, you will immediately see images that spoil developments in the latest trial. This also applies to the official website's character pages. There will also be Youtube links. Since the suggestions can also contain spoilers, you can copypaste the link into Polsy to avoid them. You'll still get videos thumbnails when you pause or when the video ends, but from what I can see they're limited to the videos found on the uploader's channel.

A different set of translations can be found in the Milgram wiki. It is also the easiest way to access the audio, as old lines get retired from the official website and Wayback Machine is inconsistent in saving them. The quotes can be found in their own subpage, such as https://milgram.fandom.com/wiki/Momose_Amane/Quotes . Substitute character names accordingly, and keep in mind that Muu and Fuuta's names are spelled with two u's.

According to the writer's tweets, the prompts for the first trial's voicelines are: 1) Introduce yourself. 2) You're a murderer, aren't you? 3) Is there something you'd like to tell the guard (me)? 4) and 5) What do you think about Milgram?

And for the second trial: 1) To the awakened guard 2) Regarding the first trial's results 3) Regarding changes in the second trial 4) Comments on the first trial 5) What do you think about Milgram?

Loading Screen During the first trial, the loading icon for the website displayed the message "Sing your sins." When the second trial started, the icon was changed. Now it looks the same as the first one for a second, then morphs into "Doubt your punishment." You can see a gif of it here.

Youtube Channel

Teasers These are brief videos which feature the characters speaking sentences out of context. So far we've seen some, but not all of them pop up in the series itself. Some seem to take place in the past, so it's likely not all of them will show up. Note that these videos contain flashing lights, chaotic visuals and screaming. Voice Trailers These trailers have normal and glitchy lines. The normal parts are taken from the website voice lines, while the glitchy lines aren't featured anywhere else. Translations for the static-filled lines can be found in the comment section, and Rochisama also translated the second-trial lines in their website. - First season voice trailer - Second season voice trailer

PV Technically our first real intro to the series, but given the unstranslated onscreen text and the dodgy subtitles, it can be skipped. There's some concept art not shown elsewhere; A cleaned up version can be viewed here and here. The website features a lower shot of the same art shown in the last link.

Song trailers These feature short snippets of upcoming content: songs and one sentence per prisoner. You can skip this if you've already watched the songs and voice dramas in question; the only difference is that sometimes the translation is slightly different. - First trial - Second trial

Main Songs, Jackalope Videos and Voice Dramas In-universe, the voice dramas take place before the songs. However, up until midway through the second trial the songs were uploaded first and the albums (containing the dramas) would be released 1-2 weeks later, so it seems the intended viewing order is the other way around. The tracklist order also supports this, so I'll be using the song->voice drama order. ES and Undercover are special cases. Undercover doesn't seem to exist in-universe, with the timeline for this one being A Milgram Anybody Can Understand->ES->Website voicelines. For the sake of consistency, I still used the song->VD ordering, with A Milgram being placed afterwards due to being released later.

Lastly, some of the official English titles are different from the Japanese ones. I wrote down both the official translation, marked (EN), and a translation from Japanese marked (JP)

Undercover (Instrumental) Notes: Milgram's theme song and its first release. The official subtitles were changed during the second trial to reference the song titles, at the cost of being less accurate to the original Japanese: you can see the original lyrics here. The lamp that shows up at 2:11 says 御霊燈, "spirit lantern." This kind of lantern is placed at the house of the deceased for 49 days after death. It serves to both announce that the family is in mourning and a guide for the spirit of the deceased; fire being a way for ghosts to find their way from and to the afterlife is a common motif in Japanese folklore. Thoughts on Where Astarion is From

Going to be a long post. Because there are definitely spoilers for the game in general and probably for Astarion's quest, I'm putting this under a read more.

I've seen in several places now that Astarion is commonly headcanon'd to not be from Baldur's Gate originally. Personally, I really think this makes sense since he's an elf, his parents in theory would still be alive, and - if you stick to the idea he originally was noble/patriar born - he would be recognizable to a lot of people even after being turned. Not only in the city in general but I imagine he helped 'entertain' at Cazador's palace since Cazador did host parties.

An aside, I think this holds true for all of Cazador's 'house' spawn. I know Dalyria formerly was the Physician General to the Parliament of Baldur's Gate but I have a feeling she - like Astarion - probably wasn't in that position terribly long before getting turned so may not have been around long enough for people to really recall her face.

But back to my actual thought: The common thing I see when people headcanon about Astarion's origins before he lived in Baldur's Gate is that he is from Waterdeep, or the surrounding area, because the area used to be home to most of the elves in Faerûn. Just as a note for anyone unfamiliar with where cities are: Waterdeep is 750 miles North of Baldur's Gate, Elturel is officially 200 miles East of Baldur's Gate.

I have an alternate theory: Astarion is from somewhere East of Baldur's Gate. Possibly along the Chionthar.

Why?

Because sometime before the story, at least 100 years ago - and honestly, I think it'd be before he was turned so 200+ years ago - he was in Reithwin Town (the town in Act 2) - and got banned from The Waning Moon.

And this isn't just me making an assumption or coming up with a headcanon. Now, I was too lazy to go find the in-game screenshot that I took and it's on my gaming computer, so this is from the BG3 Wiki - Here's the text when you read the BAN LIST at The Waning Moon:

The text (bold emphasis mine) reads as:

Supporting screenshots out of the way, here are my assumptions so far:

He probably did not have lots of time to dedicate for traveling pre-vampirism days just because law school then actually being a magistrate (yes, I am assuming that law school is a thing in Faerûn).

If he was a noble pre-magistrate days, Reithwin wouldn't be a normal destination choice since nothing in the game makes me think it really was anything more than a normal town that just happened to have fallen to horrific events.

Related to first two bullets: my personal thought is that he was probably sub-30 when this ban at The Waning Moon happened.

Cazador didn't/doesn't travel much himself (Astarion calls him 'reclusive' at some point).

I really doubt Cazador lets any of his spawn travel on their own.

What makes most sense to me personally is that he was traveling from home - wherever that is - to Baldur's Gate. Unfortunately the 5e map of Faerûn only list 4 cities along the Chionthar: Baldur's Gate, Fort Morninglord, Elturel, and Scornubel. It shows none of the towns/settlements shown in Act 1 or Act 2 in BG3. Just for reference:

Which probably is just so there is some vagueness for D&D players to add in their own towns since D&D is a giant sandbox. So that's kind of what I'm doing here. Somewhere between Reithwin and The Reaching Woods is a town that Astarion once called home.

lately ive been going through my google history when im bored (which is so incredibly entertaining btw. highly recommend) and apparently, after double-checking my camera roll that date & finding proof to support this theory, i did indeed first watch hlvrai on november 4th of 2020. absolutely insane. i thought i hadnt seen it until mid-2021 at LEAST.

shoutsout to my friends who i watched it with at the time half of which i dont talk to anymore... i owe u for getting me into funny half-life series. thank you oomf

WARNING !!! below the read more is a long fucking list of funny* things i found in my camera roll from the week i first watched hlvrai. like not the images themselves just me talking about them. i dont know why i thought that was a good idea but alas i already spent 90+ minutes writing that all out and tbf i did have a good laugh looking at that shit. anyway the warning is because its long as fuck and i'm willing to bet not at all interesting to anyone who isn't me. i think if i talk any more i will ramble for fucking ever so ill shut up. in the dr stone dub, asagiri gen sometimes slips in some words in pig latin. from a translation perspective do you think there would a particular reason to do that, or is it just some flavour?

I don't think I'm qualified to answer this one. Gen's speech quirks (which are also Kirishima London's speech quirks, for the Yugioh Go Rush crowd out here) are saying pretty much everyone's name with a condescending "-chan" and making frequent use of zzaj language.

Zzaj language is a form of professional jargon invented in the 1960s by the Japanese show business industry. It consisted of reading important keywords out loud backwards in order to trip up laymen and prevent leaks. However, in the 80s, talk show hosts and similar TV celebrities began using their zzaj language on camera, familiarizing the general public with how some words sound spoken backwards. Then, in the 90s, zzaj fell out of fashion.

Gen's pre-petrification life was as a magician making tricks on TV, so his speech patterns are the kind that make you think "people only talk like that in old talk shows". The out-of-touch boomer quality of it may also be an intentional disarming element but I feel like it's more of a "there's no current stereotype for TV personality lexicon so I'll settle for something older" deal.

The dub translation choices to convey that trait is pig latin. Does it work? I have no idea, I never watched an English talk show beyond some clips online. I have never seen them do that, but I'm unfamiliar enough that this could be a common thing without my knowledge. I don't know what they do there, much less what they did in the 80s. In Brazil, talk show hosts have recurring catchphrases, so my approach for a Portuguese translation would be appropriating that into Gen's dialogue, but for English translation, I don't have the information necessary to render his dialogue.

The Liamasterink (and friends) Fact Check

In this current year era of woke leftist mainstream media, fact-checking has become a way for people of influence to combat misinformation or cover up their lies. This post is one of those, albeit given how Sea Princesses is a niche series, fact checking things about this series isn't as controversial compared to broader subjects.

Liamasterink has recently taken to posting Sea Princesses theories to his YouTube Community page, which I practically follow daily. I noticed he's been saying some things that are not quite accurate, and rather than fact-check him in the comments (because his fans predominantly speak Spanish, the names on my YouTube accounts don't match my online identity and Liam makes so many Community posts that I can't scroll any further than a month ago for some reason), I'll be fact-checking him through posts like this on Tumblr.

How I trolled the Sea Princesses renaissance

This one's more recent than the topics I'll be covering after this, but I just had to share this first.

In my reviews of the second and third Combo Rangers reboot graphic novels, there is a storyline skit at the beginning and end of each of them titled The Interdimensional Café, and one of the plot points involved Hiroki, Sougo and Polvina fighting Polvina clones in my universe. Out of the clones are five distinct types; two of them are the regular Polvina from the animated series and the books, while the other three are the sexy variant, the zombie variant and the Lula/Bernie Sanders/Daniel Andrews variant.

Presumably from a fan finding these and sending them to him, Liam has posted the sexy and zombie Polvina variants as community posts and I have to say, it was amusing to read the reactions from his fans, ranging from "Oh no, what did they do to you?" to "How disturbing". It's honestly telling that people were actually commenting that the artist who drew the sexy Polvina was "sick" for drawing such fanart of a 7 year old girl. God, you're all a bunch of fucking prudes. It's clear that media like the movie Cuties has radicalised people against the sexualisation of children, but this is a drawing we are talking about and I think people are overreacting about this because no real children have been harmed (directly) because of a raunchy drawing of a fictional character. But whatever on that point, because I'll bet you'll shit bricks when I tell you who really drew those variants.

So, the artist who really drew those Polvina variants was, in fact, Fabio Yabu himself, and they were originally posted on his blog. Now, he doesn't really talk about Sea Princesses on it so there's not much about it in the archives, but Yabu did post the Polvina variants, which are luckily archived:

Of note, "Sexyna"'s head design ended up being used in The Makeover as a rather decent design and the point where Ester and Tubarina should have stopped, something which a commenter pointed out (well, the opposite, anyway, that it was inspired from there) and I acknowledged in the storyline skit.

The cancellation blame game

On 25 April, Liam posted a poll asking his fans who was the main cause of Sea Princesses being cancelled. It was a question with an answer rather than a survey and the answer was "Fabio Yabu himself".

I'm going to tell you all what I told Liam on Discord about this because he brought it up to me in DMs, but there's a little extra commentary here. OK, so to be honest, the exact circumstances of the series' cancellation are unclear, but we do know that according to Flamma, there was no interest in producing a third series. I know I said on the wiki that "Flamma had no interest in producing a third series", making it sound like it was Flamma's decision, but again, the exact circumstances are unclear.

In the answer explanation, Liam claimed that Fabio Yabu "returned to work in a franchise that no one remembered anymore as the Combo Rangers" (machine translated). Firstly, production on the series concluded in 2009, not 2013, and secondly, I resent that statement as a tokusatsu fan (and as someone who just reviewed the other two Combo Rangers reboot graphic novels) because Liam underestimated how much of a phenomenon Combo Rangers was in Brazil and the background as to why it was loved by 80's and 90's kids back in the day.

Yes, I agree that the people who made the animated series didn't tap into the full potential that Sea Princesses had. Issues with the writing and character focuses aside, there are also financial circumstances to note here. The first season (I believe) had a budget of US$7 million (in 2005 money, which would be over US$10 million in current year). Animation costs are measured per half hour (which is actually 23 to 26 minutes discounting ad breaks) and the average cost for half an hour of animation is US$200,000 (according to Reynaldo Marchezini of Flamma Films in 2009), not to mention the global financial crisis that happened during the time when the second season would be in production. Also keep in mind that Sea Princesses was produced during a time when Brazilian-made animations were relatively unknown to the world (this one isn't exactly Brazilian-made entirely, but still), so if Southern Star hadn't gotten involved (out of the three or four companies that showed interest in a co-production), the animated series wouldn't have been made in the first place, let alone distributed to over 100 countries.

Also, in my correspondence with Fabio Yabu, he has said that being an artist in Brazil isn't as easy as it is in the West and so, he has to take on various projects and appeal to various audiences in order to make a living, so I think Liam was being really unfair to him here. Sure, I'd like to see more Sea Princesses content from him and I wish he did more to preserve its content on social media, but in the end, you can't really blame him because this is clearly something he has a passion for and loves to do. Plus, the guy's gotta make a living somehow.

In summary, Fabio Yabu may not be entirely to blame for Sea Princesses not receiving a third season and there were potentially other factors that all parties involved had to consider.

Errors in production

The next thing I want to talk about is another Community post where Liam speculates why there were production errors in Sea Princesses and basically, he gets a lot of things wrong because he got a fundamental thing wrong about animation production. I won't attach the whole post as an image, but if the post disappears at some point, then I've backed it up into my cloud drive folder and will make it available to anyone who's interested, though I'll try to summarise it here.

The fundamental thing of producing animated series is that the audio comes first before the animation. Southern Star, as executive producers, handled the creation of the scripts, storyboards and audio, Flamma handled the character design and approval of the scripts, then Neptuno Films handled all the animation and post-production.

Errors in production are always going to happen. In regards to the animation, mistakes like a character saying a line with somebody else's voice would probably come down to someone misinterpreting something in the script and the mistake not being caught until it was too late to change anything else in time. In The Return, Elektra mistaking Leia for Isa was most likely a script misinterpretation on Neptuno's end and not the fault of her voice actress, Meaghan Davies (also "star talent didn't have much experience" my ass, that's an oxymoron in itself plus I wouldn't expect her to be a "star talent" given her previous experience).

I can't apply this to the rest of the series, but from what little I could discern while watching Lost in both the Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish dubs, they fixed the mistakes the English dub made; I know this for certain with the Castilian Spanish dub. Dubbing usually takes place after the episode has finished production and a separate script needs to be made to have the dubbed voice lines fit the length of the original voice line (mouth movements are where people really need to stop caring so much imo). Liam blames the director of the Latin American Spanish dub, Hector Moncada, for making the dub "mediocre" with all the mistakes from the finished original episode ported to the dub; yet again, I can't say for certain with the rest of the series, but I don't think he is to blame for the mistakes that the English dub made if he wasn't warned about them. That being said, if Moncada was warned about the mistakes in the original version and he actually managed to make the same mistakes in the Latin American Spanish dub, then he's a fucking idiot.

With regards to recycling voice actors and actresses, that's not really a surprise considering that the same thing happened in the original English dub, though I haven't been able to exactly pinpoint who voiced who with references to back it up. Voice actors voicing multiple characters (or characters being voiced by different voice actors between appearances or seasons) is not a new thing and it isn't surprising that it happened here considering how little focus most characters got (or actor availability).

Moving back to the animation and Liam points out the clone issue that I've pointed out in like three episodes on the wiki. Stage Fright, The Carnival and Lunch Power were what I believe to be cases of Neptuno using up all the character models they had, resulting in them cloning models for filler, even in places where it was illogical for certain characters to be there, while in Tubarina Almighty (among other potential cases), there were clones of Jessi and Leia that could have been prevented if they just used different models instead of the same few that the production team thought kids would recognise. I would have liked to see more character models featured, but there is only so much you can do with a USD$7 million budget.

Liam also points out the Combo Rangers (or Madruga and Barriga from El Chavo del Ocho) being adapted into Drylanders and how they were recycled between episodes featuring Drylanders. He also seems to point out the appearance of Bonnie as a Drylander near the end of The Rescue as illogical, but I think he neglected to note that Fabio Yabu originally designed Bonnie as part of a generic elderly couple, the male model never making it into the series.

And obviously, there was the cuts in the Discovery Kids versions which I've pointed out so many times before. I finally decided to start documenting those cuts last month after giving up once and wondering whether I should actually do it or not, and let me tell you, it's just as much a drag as I thought it would be. It took some time for me to figure out how I would do it, but I managed to figure it out. Details of the cuts will be put onto the wiki eventually and I'll also do a top 10 list of the worst cut episodes in the series.

Basically, the animation errors were something that was always going to happen, the clones could have been resolved in some cases by using different character models and the dubbing errors were something that Liam got wrong from the start because the audio is recorded before the animation is drawn and the international dubs are recorded after the original episode has finished production.

I want to share this funny minicomic that Liam made about the clone situation and I hope those scientists are Salacian because that's important for my upcoming story. No, I'm not talking about the Polvina clones from The Interdimensional Café, but they are still relevant.

Scientist 1: Sir, the clones have escaped again. Scientist 2: Oh my. I hope those clones don't go into Salacia.

Polvina: So girls, what're we doing today? Tubarina: We can play with Delfi at her palace. Ester: Isn't she hanging out at the park?

(the joke here is that Delfi seems to be both at her palace and the park, meaning that at least one of them is a clone)

I might as well have created (the sequels to) Sea Princesses

On Twitter, there's a guy by the name of Ricardo Mita claiming himself to be a co-creator of the series on Fabio Yabu's Twitter feed. I wasn't going to call him out because his antics were boring, but I decided to speak up about this when he spammed similar comments onto one of Liam's YouTube Community posts, which led him to believe the same thing as well.

I don't need to tell you how much of an idiot Ricardo is because anyone else who believes his lies is just as much of an idiot as he is. I also don't need to tell you that the best source of information for Sea Princesses is the Sea Princesses Wiki (for character, episode and book information) or this Tumblr (for that and pretty much everything else).

Look, I can see that Ricardo's got his own takes and ideas on the series, expanding some episodes into two-parters and even having an episode list for a potential third series, but with no synopses (don't worry, I used to make episode lists without writing synopses as well). By his logic I might as well be a co-creator of the series as well with all the work I've put into it for the renaissance and my personal project. I hope Ricardo finds the strength one day to channel his energy into fleshing out his ideas and even writing out his story synopses in (neatly formatted) social media posts.

My Seafood Princesses

An amusing piece of news to round off this post. In the commune of Renca in Santiago, Chile, there is a fish shop called Pescaderia Mis Princesas Del Mar, or in my translation, My Sea Princesses Seafood or My Seafood Princesses. Considering how we see the Shark Royal Family eating fish in Big Brother, Grow Up and The True Princess, this is both amusing and harrowing.

The shopfront sign, which has been on the shop since it opened sometime between 2012 and 2014, also has images of the main three girls, including a duplicate Polvina with her book design on a seahorse. The sign has been updated between 2015 and 2022 and while it retains the Sea Princesses-style logo on the shopfront sign, the images of the main three girls seem to be no more.

Anyway, that's it for this fact-checking post. I'll do another one when Liam gets some things wrong again.

I decided to start writing here because I am, to this day, still in love with the 1996 Nickelodeon kids' show Space Cases. I'm a.) starving for content and b.) desperate to put my thoughts down somewhere and so here we are.

I'm going to use this space to do an episode-by-episode rewatch, go though the official website and show bible, find and curate other content I stumble across on the internet, post some old magazine scans I have that haven't seen the light of day since Livejournal, etc etc.

Today, I'm starting at the start and watching S01E01 "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place." I have the old VHS rips saved to my computer, HOWEVER, for this I'll be watching the uploads on the youtube channel "thespacecases" (link below) which has them in much better quality. My thoughts under the cut!

I'm going to be scribbling down my thoughts as I watch:

I'm trying desperately to read the Starcademy motto but I can't make out the first word. So something Sine Fronteras - ...Without Borders? I took a quick look around the wiki and spacecasestv.com but couldn't find it. Darn!

The opening intro to the characters is ICONIC. I can still quote it to this day.

Hello, police? I'd like to report a murder.

Here we learn that Radu is the first Andromedan at Starcademy and it seems via context that he is the only one. Probably hasn't been there too very long. What a difficult thing to do, and then to end up in the remedial class at least partly because the students are prejudiced against Andromedans because their parents fought against them in Spung-Andromedan War. I believe I also read somewhere (maybe in the show bible??) that he was chosen to go by the other Andromedans because he didn't fit in with them. Maybe I made that up.

Anyway, fair warning, Radu has always been my favorite and I'm endlessly fascinated by the potential I saw in developing the Andromedan people.

I've also developed a soft spot for Harlan and his character development/potential for growth, and the development of his relationship with Radu, who he initially hated due to his prejudices against Andromedans. And I also ship it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(@shmeiliarockie posted their thoughts after a season 1 rewatch awhile back and has a head-canon that Andromedans don't have gender which I LOVE and have not stopped thinking about. Click this for the post.)

Ok, I have got to be more brief I think, I'm only a minute and a half into this episode. BUT THIS EP IS SO GOOD.

Davenport: The vacuum of space isn't fair either, Mr. Band. It can destroy anyone who doesn't have what it takes to survive. And...none of you has what it takes.

Devastating.

I want breakdowns of all the different symbols on their uniforms and what they mean. Maybe the prominent shoulder ones symbolize the planet they come from? Harlan has three polyhedral like pillars which I've only just now thought may stand for Earth and the Lunar and Mars colonies.

Catalina is the eye roll champion.

Radu's "What is your problem?!" to Harlan. Yes, bby, don't take his shit.

Yes, why IS the Christa named after an Earth teacher, why IS Thelma a Techno-HUMAN emulating machine?? I do wonder if the creators knew or if they were just planning to figure it out if they ever got that far.

Personally, I subscribe to the time loop theory wherein the crew in the future sends Thelma and the Christa back in time to pick up their younger selves.

Thelma has the best gags.

They end up going through the White Circle anyway: 7 years, 4 months, and 22 days from home. Definite Star Trek: Voyager vibes, which had begun the year before in 1995.

Davenport is complaining that she had theater tickets for tonight. Where, ma'am?? The wiki says that Starcademy orbits Pluto.

Harlan is yelling at Radu and Radu looks INDIGNANT. I love him.

Goddard: I was three weeks shy. Three more weeks and my career as a teacher would have been over. I'd have been back out in space with a crew. Instead I'm...

Catalina: Back out in space.

Radu: With a crew.

Interestingly, a similar line was used against me in a DnD campaign when my ship captain then-Warlock was bemoaning his fate. :)

This episodes rules. What a great start to a series. The creators wanted Space Cases to be a "Star Trek for kids" and as someone who is also obsessed with Star Trek, well, well done, you hooked me as a child.

ask game with my own spin :) 1, 5, + 13. also(if you want), when did you get into this fandom, and fandom in general? i started watching miraculous (i want to say 1 or 2, but ) 3-5ish years ago when seasons 1 + 2 were airing on live tv. then i started really getting into it and binged all the eps and started watching s3 (in order) as it came out/on yt. then i found tumblr and ao3 through the wiki and here i am! this is my first fandom♡ ps watching s4 is way easier since i found your other blog♡

1. For how long have you been watching Miraculous Ladybug?

Ive been here sinceeeeee *drum roll please* 2016! I got into miraculous as a middle schooler, as one does, and it really says a lot as to how long this show has been on that now I’m going off to college in the fall!!

5. How did you get into Miraculous Ladybug?

Oh I LOVE this story. (Story and rest of questions under cut so this post doesn’t get too long)

So in middle school, I had this friend who was obsessed with the show since the PV. She had been asking me since the very beginning to watch it, but I was always too lazy to and never did. Season 1 came and went, and she still was begging me to watch this show, and she had so much faith that I would she made sure not to spoil anything.

Well, one day I get sick.... like, REALLY sick. I had to stay outside of school for an entire week. Within that time, I quickly ran out of things to do, and since Kisscartoon was still a thing at the time, I go on there to look for a show to watch, when I remember my friend’s suggestion. And I decide hey what the heck, might as well binge right?

So on the website the first few episodes of ml were in Korean, and the rest of the season in French, so that’s how I experienced rhe first season (with subs ofc) and I fell absolutely in LOVE. I hyperfixtated on it to the point where I would wake up, start an episode, and watch until it was time to go to sleep, with my mom having to force me out of bed. I think I finished season 1 (the only season that was out) 2 days. And my brain was so far gone from how sick I was I actually CRIED at certain points. It was clownery.

Ofc, when I told my friend she was ecstatic, but because of the different dubs I didn’t get some references (like pound it for instance), but eh. And fun fact, this very same friend is the one that gave me the name ozzo, since one morning she called me ozzy instead of Izzy (my nickname at the time), and eventually it evolved into ozzo and she’d call me ozzo the wozzo..... hence the tumblr name! I’m so sad we lost touch, since she’s technically responsible for my entire tumblr persona haha.

13. What’s your preferred dub?

As stated above, I got into the show with the French and Korean dub, and honestly the French is my favorite! I absolutely hated the English dub at first LMAO, but now I really love it, and I prefer it when episodes are airing since it makes things a whole lost easier. But I got to say..... the korean dub holds a very special place in my heart. I don’t rewatch the show with that dub a lot, but the first ml episodes I watched were in Korean, so it holds a special place in my heart.

+ Your Bonus question: When did I get into the ml fandom/fandom in general

So I used to be really into Star vs the Forces of Evil, and when looking for fanart I stumbled across tumblr. This was late 2016ish. Middle school me wasn’t allowed social media, so I just made an account to like fanart but made no posts or reblogs or anything. Thats actually where the “nothing to see here, there isn’t a blog in sight” in my desc comes from!

I also lurked a lot In the ml fandom. I got to witness all the “IS GABRIEL AGRESTE HAWKMOTH????” theories and fanart for the breakdancing au and such. I would comment on posts by this time, so I was much more interactive in the fandom. I guess I didn’t “officially” join anything until 2018, when I made my first ever post on tumblr (which you can see in all its cringy glory here!), and when I started to make ml memes and such related to fandom things I had known for a while due to my years of lurking, AND I saw that they got a lot of notes, I became hooked!

Sorry this was so long, but you asked sooo many good questions and really took me down memory lane. Thank you anon!! :)

Ink Mystery Wiki!

I’m sure we’ve all thought about it once or twice, but here it finally is! The official Inky Mystery Fan Wiki! Here for all your Inky Mystery needs. It’s still in its early stages, and, like any fan wiki, needs its fans' help to grow! So, theorists, writers, and fanatics, get ready to write down summaries, information and theories for your fellow IM lovers!

It’s easy to do- you shouldn’t need to register an account to edit anything! Just head to a page and start writing (ei; fill in a summary about what happened to Boris in Book Two). Keep in mind that anyone else has the ability to correct and edit what you wrote, just as you have the ability to do the same to theirs! Eventually, it’ll be less of a “writing summaries” project and just a fun wiki to look around at and help gather information for theorists. If, for some reason, you cannot edit any pages or register an account to do so, just DM me whatever you want edited on the wiki (ei; “Can you add sub-race Water Demon to X Character’s desc��). Similarly, if you don’t know how to make a new page for a character or item, just ask me, and I can make the page for you (ei; “Can you add a page for Finley Fox”)!

Small note; sometime’s the editor glitches and you’ll be taken to a blank page. If that happens, just use the back arrow and try again. It works best if you choose ”edit source” rather than “edit”. You have the options to edit by source (code) or visually. Most of you will probably prefer visually. Also, I have no idea what editing looks like on mobile, and I assume it’s probably best to edit on computer or laptop.

Also, don’t worry about links and references unless you know how to work those. I’m still learning them too, but I’ll eventually add a guide or something to help. But, if you want to try, the best way would be to add a link to the chapter or Tumblr post you got the information from in the links section.

Additionally, there’s an option to add images! If you want your art (or someone else’s featured with their permission) featured on a character’s page, item page, book page, etc., just DM me and I’ll put it up there for you! This isn’t only “put a Holly on Holly’s page”, or a “put a book cover on the book page”, it can be a “hey I drew this rune! Let’s add it to the rune page!” or a “I drew this scene! Let’s add my drawing to the chapter page the scene is from!”

Maggie will fail her pact?

so, it was confirmed years ago by michelle that we would see a failed pact in the comic, but it’s a mystery to whose it will be.

i’ll base myself on the popular vial streak theory, which will narrow our possibilities to only 4 characters:

Maggie, Ava, Odin and whoever the pink vial was made for.

(here’s the original page for comparison)

if you haven’t heard about this theory:

“Another theory is interested in the streaks that appear next to the bottles. Four of the bottles (assumed to be for wrath, pride, lust, and sloth) appear to have a certain number of streaks next to them. Lust has one streak, wrath two, pride three, and sloth four. The prevailing assumption is that these streaks represent the order of which the possessed lifeform and demon have made a pact. Since Maggie and Tuls were first to pact, followed by Ava and Wrathia, this theory is widely accepted. Therefore, the next pacts to be formed will be between Odin and Pedri, and the sloth host and demon. It is undetermined what the lack of streaks next to the remaining three bottles could mean. “

if this theory is correct, then it means that out of the 7 haunted lifeforms, only 4 will pact with their demons. our candidates for a failed pact are maggie, ava, odin and whoever owns the pink vial.

however, so far in the comic, we only know the details of maggie and ava’s pacts, so let’s go over their requirements:

ava’s desire: a new life (completed?)

wrathia’s desire: revenge against titan

maggie’s desire: unclear, likely asked tuls to use his magic to help her make certain boys fall in love with her (almost completed, 1 flower left)

tuls’ desire: confess his feelings to ranunculae

since the plot of ava’s demon is to follow ava on her epic quest across the galaxy to take down an evil capitalist deity, i doubt ava would be the one to fail her pact. i mean, how anticlimactic would that be?

so, about maggie’s pact:

it seems like tuls doesn’t remember all the details to a failed pact, so it’s likely he’s only told maggie they would be stuck with each other forever. and that doesn’t sound so bad, if you consider that maggie and tuls get along fairly well and that being immortal in some sci-fi universe with multiple advanced civilizations and easy transport across galaxies means you could probably spend your eternity going exploring.

of course, that’s not the ideal situation for either of them, but if maggie knew what would actually happen if her pact fails, she would definitely be in a much bigger rush to find ranunculae.

according to the devil herself:

a failed pact will cause the two souls to merge and the body become a (possibly immortal) monster of failure. now that doesn’t sound good at all.

so, why do i think it’s maggie?

now, i’m not saying this because i hate maggie or anything! maggie is actually one of my favorite characters in the comic and i’m very excited for when her backstory with ava will be revealed (and hopefully y’all will stop calling her a bitch).

1. maggie isn’t taking her pact with tuls very seriously. this is already pretty worrying by itself.

she’s been using tuls’ magic on boys she had just met and barely knew a thing about (assuming gil wasn’t an exception), and she’s not one little bit worried about ranunculae being dead, or not reaching her in time. according to tuls, it’s been four years already! if tuls died doing anything related to protecting ranunculae and/or her kingdom, it means she could possibly still be in danger.

maggie believes that ranunculae is fine, because if she was dead, the pact would have automatically failed, right? but what exactly is judging the completion or failure of the pacts?

remember when ava asked for a new life?

it was pretty clear what ava meant with a “new life”. and from wrathia’s smug face it’s pretty clear she understood it as well, but decided to take the vagueness in ava’s statement to her advantage, and thus:

the pact didn’t fail. wrathia’s duty was completed.

so you ask “what does this have to do with anything?” well... why didn’t the pact fail? it should have failed, right? wrathia took advantage of a play of words, and completed her part. if the pact was being dictated by the universe or whatsoever, i believe it should have failed, as it was clearly not what ava intended when she meant a new life.

what i mean with this, is that a pact being completed or not depends on the hosts and demons, not on the universe itself. because wrathia believed she did what ava asked, the pact was completed, not failed. and most importantly, wrathia’s part was only completed once she told ava that she had given her the new life she had asked for.

i believe ranunculae’s death wouldn’t automatically fail maggie’s pact while they were light years apart and completely unaware of eachother. maggie’s pact would fail only once she learned ranunculae was dead.

that’s not to say ranunculae is dead. we don’t know that yet! she can still be alive and kicking, hopefully.

2. michelle has been known to put foreshadowing in her art. we’ve actually seen vial!ava before she even made a pact with wrathia!

when odin attempts to mess with maggie, he calls her a monster.

when i was reading the comic for the first time, i thought monster it was kind of a very specific insult. foreshadowing perhaps?

bear in mind, that i read ava’s demon back in the time it had curse words in it, if i recall correctly, the words that were said on more than one occasion were fuck, shit and bitch. this means calling maggie a monster was a deliberate choice by the author, odin could have just called her a bitch or something (like everyone else in the fandom...sigh.) and it would have still made sense.

3. michelle has said she had the story planned in her head for a loooong time. some of the concept art she has posted on the website date as far back as 2006. some of things she had said in the past were also deleted, due to them being somewhat spoiler-y. one of the things that i remember that were deleted, were information about black holes in the ava’s demon universe, but that’s irrelevant for this theory.

point is, she has deleted some art as well. michelle's deviantart account (former username was robotmichelle) had a couple of pieces removed, some of them resembled certain characters from the ava’s demon cast, but i want to focus in one piece specifically, originally posted as “Wandering Magnolia”

so, the question is: is this maggie? same name, same color scheme, same tree/plant themes.

her body seems to have been completely overgrown by wood, her arms are asymmetrical, and... she seems very huge?

it’s already been shown that wrathia was actually a giant, and it’s very likely that her other warriors had roughly the same size as well. that would mean tuls could be one of the tallest warriors when he was alive. would a merged tuls and maggie have his original height? we can only wonder.

is wandering magnolia supposed to be a drawing of maggie’s form after her failed pact, fated to wander through the universe for all eternity?

could this be why it was deleted? too much foreshadowing? direct spoilers about the comic’s plot?

of course, there’s always a chance that this piece was made before michelle had decided on anything regarding maggie’s fate. there’s even a chance this magnolia isn’t our magnolia, and could be simply be concept art for the same character. but i find it an interesting piece of evidence.

this is basically all that i’ve got for now! this theory has been on my mind for a long time, ever since it was confirmed a failed pact would occur. of course, this is all speculation, and i could be completely off here.

i sincerely hope that maggie isn’t the one to fail her pact, as i believe she really deserves a happy ending from what is implied of her backstory with ava (i’ll most likely write another post on my thoughts about their past friendship, and theories.), but if the vial theory is correct, then one of the 4 pacted characters would have to suffer from this fate, and i’ll just hope i’m wrong. we’ll just have to wait and see.

Debating a LYING braindead idiot

So it looks like he wasn't done looking like an idiot, he had to continue playing defense for Che and Communism. It reminds me of when I debated against an idiot who defended Hitler and Nazism. The murderous history of Hitler, Che, Stalin, Mao, Nazis, and Commies should be enough reason for any sane individual to be against Nazis, Commies, and murderous dictators. But apparently, neither he nor the Nazi I've argued against are sane. So let's begin with this idiot (@skorpiontongue) complimenting himself, thinking I wouldn't notice he's using an alt account.

Chapter 1: Alt Compliments

I've seen this type of action before where a Leftist would use an alt-account to complement himself on Tumblr, Discord, Twitter and other social media sites. The one on Discord was the easiest to spot because it came from a new user who joined the discord. How sad and pathetic does one has to be to compliment himself in a short amount of time? He did it on the same day of his post. As if he were impatient to wait a day or two. He was likely trying to get my attention as soon as he made his post, while I was away from my computer. I'm usually either working, spending quality time with my girlfriend or on my phone doing my thing on social media. Anyways I think he does this for attention, because he sure as hell ain't getting it at home(most likely living in his parents basement due to commies being "anti-work") or at the public library where he is most likely accessing the internet.

"ur so based fr"? You ain't fooling anybody.

Chapter 2: Projection

The one thing The Left are caught doing all the time is accusing people of the very same things The Left are guilty of doing themselves. He thinks I'm a "wolf in sheeps clothing". Which is completely false because unlike him, I've always fought against totalitarian and extremist views. It did not matter which side of the political spectrum the totalitarians and extremists come from, I condemn them all for their horrible actions. For example I've always been against Nazis and the KKK for their evil actions. Ever since learning about them in history class, I've always condemn Nazis and the KKK. I condemn Commies and Antifa for the very same reasons, due to their violent and murderous actions, especially since Antifa killed innocent black people in their CHOP/CHAZ zones such as Secoreia Turner, Horace Lorenzo Anderson Jr, and David Dorn. Want to know how I heard about their deaths? Through Newsmax, Steven Crowder and other conservative media. They will not talk about them in Left-wing news media because their deaths go against their narrative and it makes them look bad. The real wolf in sheep's clothing are the Left who pretend to care about black lives and yet ignore the innocent black lives who were murdered by Antifa/Commies/BLM members. The Left in your eyes can do no wrong. Luckily for me, I'm not so blind to the truth. I'll speak against both the Left or the Right if I disagree with them and their actions. For example I'm against Bush for invading Iraq and falsely claiming that there were weapons of mass destruction. I'm also against Bush for initiating the Patriot Act and I'm against Obama for continuing the Patriot Act. I recognize the corruption in both parties and right now the only politicians who are actually trustworthy are MAGA Republicans and Tulsi Gabbard(a former Democrat turned Independent). Tulsi Gabbard was slandered and lied about by Democrats who falsely accused her of being a "Russian Asset", even Mitt Romney was slandering her. She was also censored by Big Tech. Which reminds me, Biden falsely accuses Trump of corruption and yet his deals with Ukraine(before the war) and Hunter Biden's Laptop story being covered up by the mainstream media and social media made it quite clear to me that Biden is the corrupt one. Not that you would be smart enough to figure that out since you're a braindead commie who can't even come up with an original format, copying my chapter format in this debate.

Speaking of Commies, he goes on a nonsensical rant defending a murderous commie dictator(Che). At this point he may as well defend Hitler and deny that the Holocaust happened. But since I've already destroyed his argument on Che, we'll move onto the next chapter.

Chapter 3: "I swear I'm not a racist" - Said the commie.

Your lack of reading comphension and understanding the context of what I'm saying, shows just how braindead you are. I brought up the Democratic Party for one reason. Their claim of the "parties switching" and comparing it to your claims of Che "changing". It's not that hard to figure out numbnuts. If you look at Trump's history, he was the first in the state of Florida to allow blacks and Jews in his club. The Democrats history on the other hand created the KKK, tried to continue slavery in the Civil War, shot Abraham Lincoln, they voted for a racist President(Biden), as well as voting for an anti-semitic bitch(Ilhan Omar). So of course you would vote Democratic because you're either a dumbass believing in their lies or you agree with their racism/anti-semitism and don't give a shit if they're lying, covering shit up to protect themselves through censorship and trying to deplatform conservatives along the way. Best choice my ass.

Your racism comes from stereotyping big strong black men as "violent", using Terry Crews as an example, which makes no sense due to the fact that he's a classy guy and not at all as how you perceive him as(a violent big strong black guy). If you're going to use a strong big black guy who is violent or may have violent tendency, Mike Tyson would have been a better example, he's had a history of beating up people(in a professional sport), as well as biting off the ear of a fellow boxer. Or a fictional character like Major Payne(one of my favorite movies from my teenage years), since he's badass enough to kick anybody's ass without breaking a sweat and he would have been a more positive example due to his badassery.

It does not surprise me that you're uninformed about Cuba. People's rights are being violated, hence the protests. The people in Cuba want liberty. Something Commies or The Left in general has no true understanding of because if they did, they wouldn't actively censor people they disagree with, nor would they try to ban guns or deplatform conservatives. Diversity of thought, freedom of speech and gun rights is what the Left are actively fighting against. Without diversity of thought, without freedom of speech, without the right to bear arms, you're unable to speak freely against tyranny and you're unable to defend yourself against rapists, murderers and thieves. You think you're against rapists, murderers and thieves, yet you defend the Left who would not go after the trans who raped a teenage girl at a school restroom, you defend the Left who murdered an innocent 8-year-old black girl(Secoreia Turner) who was at the wrong place at the wrong time at a burned down Wendy's and you won't condemn the Left's actions of stealing from a Walgreens in San Francisco. So I don't expect you to condemn a communist country that are violating people's rights in Cuba and China. Heck I don't even expect you to condemn Communist China for banning black people from renting a home or going to a restaurant, in which they used the "virus" in 2020 as an excuse. How do I know all this? I stay informed by watching Newsmax, a channel that CNN & Democrats wants to deplatform from Cable and Satellite. Gee I wonder why? Oh I know, it's because they're exposing the Left of their lies and corruption.

Chapter 5: "My source is wikipedia because I'm too braindead to look at legitimit sources that won't bullshit you!"

When I was younger, I probably would have used wikipedia as a source, I used to vote Democrat until 2008 when I went Independent before voting Republican for the first time in 2020. I also used to hate Trump and believe in every lie said about him back in 2016. But I've learn from my mistakes and realized that the pro-establishment politicians, big tech, and the mainstream media are the ones who can't be trusted. But I am older, wiser and I don't fall for such dumb shit. Wikipedia is as unreliable as the mainstream media, fact checkers on social media and Democrats claims about Tulsi Gabbard being a Russian Asset or Trump being a racist or a rapist. I don't fall for the lies like you do. So if I wanted to learn about Qanon, I'll go straight to the source(their website), not take the words of an idiot(you) or wikipedia, since wikipedia has been known to be politically bias and it shows with their description of Parler.

Every lie, every slander said about Parler has been accounted for with what I underlined in that screen shot. It also showed how heavily bias wikipedia was in their description of Parler, all of it was untrue. I posted about it months ago, or maybe even a few years since I haven't been on Parler in a long time now since I am more active on Elon Musk's version of Twitter. The point is that you can't trust wikipedia to tell you the truth on anything. That's why conservatives created "conservapedia" to combat the lies of wikipedia.

Want to talk about conspiracy theories? Your on the side that spews it all the time such as Critical Race Theory, Radical Gender Theory, Black Queer Theory, and The Parties Switching Theory. They also make up other conspiracy theories such as Tulsi Gabbard being a Russian Asset, Trump being a white supremacist, all conservatives being Nazis, or Trump stealing the election in 2016. None of that turned out to be true, but you Leftists continue to spew that nonsense anyways. See unlike you, I went straight to the source whenever any claims were made about Tulsi, Trump, Trump Supporters or anyone else the Left doesn't like. What I found out was that nothing of what the Left said was true at all. For example the kids at Covington, Kentucky were accused of being racist. That turned out to be false when I saw the full video of the whole event. The actual bigots in that event were the Black Hebrew Israelites using a homophobic slur against Trump. The Black Hebrew Israelites also used other bigoted language that the Left seems to ignore. They only care about making Trump supporters look bad, no matter how unreliable their "evidence" is, such as Nick Sandmann smiling at an Indian, calling him a racist because he had a "smirk" on his face. That is just ridiculous. You would have to be braindead to believe that bullshit.

Chapter 6: If you don't learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it!

And yet you support a group that had some of their members pose as the opposing side to make them look bad, since Antifa members have been caught doing it. That's why they attacked Andy Ngo. They are not rational and they are not very bright, which is why Antifa are full of white beta male dumbasses with bad haircuts and faces so ugly that you could tell they're on meth. They remind me of the Juggalos I used to feud with, they weren't very bright either. I use to expose them of pedophilia, violence, murder and rape. But my feud with Juggalos ended because I realized not all of them are like that. It just happens that I know many of the bad ones who lived in my city.

The fact that you defend Antifa, shows you're on their side rather than just outright condemning them of their actions(which I pointed out a few chapters ago). See you think they're nothing like the KKK, but you'd be wrong. Morena/Mona Wilder-Amanda-Water-computer system theory (4 parts)

So, together with @autistic-dirk-gently I came up with a new theory a few weeks ago. We posted it on Twitter and a part of it got accidentally confirmed by a cast member which is why we decided not to post it on Tumblr. We won’t tell you what part got confirmed but since the first episode aired, here’s the theory:

I was randomly looking at the Wikipedia page for Marzanna when I noticed a name on the page. Morena. Since it sounds kind of like Mona I got curious and klicked on it. You won’t find the stuff that I will tell you now on the English Wikipedia page for “Morena” tho because I looked at the German one and they’re different from each other.

Morena is a character in the slavic mythology associated with winter, night and death. She’s basically the equivalent to Marzanna.

Here’s the translation of a part of her Wikipedia page:

In some places of Middle Eastern Europe a haulm/straw doll, the Morena, dressed in an old dress is carried in a procession every year and is then going to be burned or drowned in water. A counterweight to Morena is a rod decorated with colourful or living material or a little tree.

Here we have a picture of Mona Wilder in a old dress. Since Morena is a doll or straw figure it would fit with Mona being the clown doll.

Then the official Dirk Gently Instagram account posted a picture of this rod thingy which is decorated with colourful material and lookS like it could be used as a weapon:

Notice the similarity between the face of the doll and then the stress toy?

And the white dress, the colourful stuff which looks like the stuff hanging in Wendimoor from the trees and the similarity to another character we’ve seen a picture of which @autistic-dirk-gently and I think could maybe also be Mona Wilder.

Plus the 'coincidence' of the name (mona-MOreNA) which Max already did with aMANDa BROTzman-Mandelbrot.

Thanks to a post from Alexia Fast we know that Mona Wilder is the Blackwing subject Lamia.

So here’s what we think could be Mona’s part in season 2:

Back in season 1 Bart stole a jacket from the biker gang which had “New children of the old god" written on its back. A god doesn’t necessarily have to be a person, god is also a term which refers to the reason that our universe exists. The Blackwing subjects all have a really strong connection to the universe so they're basically its children. So if Lamia devours children, Mona could destroy the others. I had a thought that if all the Blackwing subjects are basically the Earth’s computer system, Mona’s purpose could be killing the parts of the system that don’t work anymore and kind of protecting the others, looking after them and pushing them into the direction that they have to go in. But I’ll get to that back later in a comment on this post (probably part 4). The whole Mona is kind of evil part seems even more likely looking at this:

“The character to end all characters”

It's possible that Mona appeared to Bart in a dream, telling her to "Find Dirk Gently", knowing that Bart would try to killl Dirk. And that doing so would mean straying from the will of the universe, which would make Bart vulnerable, and could lead to her death. Morena is an ancient goddess who is not only associated with death and rebirth but also dreams which then again fits perfectly into the dream topic with Bart. And Morena being another name for Marzanna could also mean that maybe our dear Mona is on said murder mission.

Since Mona can shapeshift she could also be the princess from the perfume ad that Bart watched in the hotel room. One of the lines from this advert is "Sometimes I feel like I've walked into someone else's dream", which fits the dream association. And Bart says that the idea to find Dirk Gently came to her in a dream. Mona could be responsible for that. Also, when Bart was watching the ad in the hotel room, she wanted to stay there instead of going to find Dirk. It almost hypnotised her. If Mona is the princess, that could have been another attempt to get Bart killed by tempting her to stray from her destined path or get her to do her damn job and protect Dirk Gently.

Plus another thing which was in the trailer and one from the first episode:

When Dirk met Mona again he goes “What are you doing here?” and smiles. He knows her (probably from his Blackwing childhood) and likes her.

I mean, look at his little smile. But then when we see him running through the corridor of the old Blackwing house screaming “It’s not the boy it’s not the boy”- he seems terrified. And now guess what’s behind him? Clown-Mona.

And her face looks like Mona so he probably knows that it’s her. But he’s still afraid.

And last but not least for the possible proof that Mona may be kind of evil part:

Getting back to the Morena part, the most interesting thing about this (apart from the doll thing) is the importance of fire and water which have been often mentioned in season 1 and play a major role in season 2, together with Amanda. And here’s how I think Amanda fits into everything (to be found in the next comment on this post because I want to keep the three parts of the theory kind of seperated from each other):

Thinking about the future of EDGN

I’ve never asked a lot out of my fans over the years, but to some of my close fans (you know who you are), I’d really appreciate some helpful advice because this is an important decision I’m making that will affect both you, the fans, and myself.

To cut a long story short for a tl;dr, I no longer enjoy posting about the voice languages in localised Japanese games because of some recent events and realisations and I want to retire from the English Dubbed Game News page altogether.

It’s been about five years since I started all this with the Koei Warriors Rant Series and since then, everything I’ve done that’s related to English dub has brought me nothing but hate. I know it’s a bit of an exaggeration and some of my close fans may have something to say to the contrary, but I’ve been feeling quite negative lately and because of that, I think it’s a brutally honest summary.

After ending the Dub Logistics series, I thought the one thing I could do to repay my fans for their support over the years was to continue posting on EDGN. Personally, I think I’ve done enough already and also, as I said in a post back in August, I’ve been having doubts about the future of the page and what I want to do with it given my current interests. There are several factors that led to me having these doubts, which I’ll be outlining after the break. (I can’t even put horizontal lines in my posts with the rich text editor now, thanks Tumblr)

1. I was never interested in any game outside of the Koei Warriors series or any game I played in the past (eg. Dissidia Final Fantasy).

This really shouldn’t be a surprise to my fans because in the past, I’ve rarely posted anything outside of the series I was interested in, including the aforementioned series. If I came across something by chance and liked it, then I would do some investigation into it, but these days, the spark just doesn’t want to light up anymore.

I’ve never really taken the chance to buy new games because my family doesn’t believe in buying things that aren’t important and as such, I took that mantra to heart. While I never brought a PS3, I did get a Nintendo Wii, but I traded it in later for a Wii U and not a PS4, which I still regret to this day. I pirated my PSP, DS and PC games (let’s face it, who doesn’t) and played with emulators on my computer. I only got a Steam account to play Team Fortress 2 (laggy though it was on my shitty computer) and I never brought anything from it, which made it difficult for me to add friends on there (not that they really cared in the end).

By extension, this applies to anime as well, which is the reason why I never post anything outside of the same few animes on the Waifu Network or on my Facebook pages. My belief on sexism in anime has also contributed to this disinterest; the only reason why I’m still posting the same few animes is because I’m still somewhat interested in them and I’m grateful for how they inspired some personal projects of mine.

2. Various factors have led me to lose interest in video games, including the Koei Warriors Series.

The reason why I started my dub crusade in the first place was because of Warriors Orochi 3 (Ultimate) and Samurai Warriors 4 not being dubbed. The reason why I decided to jump ship was because of Dynasty Warriors 9 being dubbed, just not with the same cast I had grown to love. I know that there were extenuating circumstances for the latter, but given everything that happened between that time, my hope that the old English voice cast (since Dynasty Warriors 4-6/Warriors Orochi 1-2) would return to voice that game (and other future games) was gone.

In addition to the previous factor, I started to find myself with more commitments than I had in past years, along with some different interests that I picked up along the way. At first, I didn’t feel like playing games because of my commitments, but eventually, it got to the point where I didn’t want to play most video games again because of the disappointment I’ve experienced from Koei Tecmo. Learning about all the things that AAA gaming companies do to reduce expenditure and increase revenue turned me off from video games as well. In my opinion, it wasn’t so much a boycott (per se) than it was a loss of interest.

3. The original group of people who inspired me to start writing these rants are now gone.

I know I’ve had other fans since the start of all this, but the original group had a special place in all this because of it. There were four people in the original group, who I met on Koei’s original Facebook page, and they were as follows:

The first one did comment on my older stuff, but he left quite early, possibly since DW8E’s release. I saw that he deactivated his account some time in 2017.

The second one had a YouTube channel and he was an admin on one of my Facebook pages for some time, but then he left after a period of inactivity without any explanation.

The third one was the more prominent because of his LGBT status and mental health issues. In the middle of 2015, he announced to everyone that he was deactivating his Facebook account because it was a burden on his mental health. He reactivated his account some time later, but he deactivated it again in September 2017 and hasn’t come back since. During that time, I saw a post from him stating that he was going to take a lot of pills and commit suicide. I reported it to Facebook in the hope that it might encourage him to find some help, even though I remember him stating that nothing works for him anymore. When I noticed that he hadn’t come back to Facebook months after he deactivated his account the second time, I assumed the worst.

The fourth one, also known as the family man or “the last one standing”, deactivated his account in June this year. We never really talked much, but as I said in this post, I’m still grateful to him for helping me find the new weapon and Musou information in DW8E when the Koei Wiki didn’t have it yet (because the game was just released at the time).

4. The impact of the feud’s aftermath still haunts me to this day.

When I agreed to end the feud on a mutual understanding a couple of years back, I promised myself that I would quickly move on from the troll behind it and not keep reminding myself of everything that happened. However, I’m a person that’s prone to anxiety when I think of worst-case-scenarios and at times, I found myself thinking about what would have happened had my Facebook account been deleted just because a troll couldn’t take the L when he got owned by someone half his age (compare that to Leafy who made terrible criticisms of people who are older than him, then claimed that he can hide behind the fact that he is younger than them). Him coming back out of nowhere earlier this year didn’t do any favours for anyone either. Regardless of that, I’ve got my bottom ground and I’ll continue to live on it regardless of what anyone else thinks of me.

I’d like to take a moment to digress and talk about cancel culture and political censorship. Because both parties in the feud weren’t exactly that popular (we had our own little fanbases, but that’s it), me and the other party “cancelling” each other (admittedly) didn’t seem to have as much an effect as we had hoped. Other factors that contributed to this could be that cancel culture (an extension to call-out culture) wasn’t that much of a thing two years ago and when the other party tried to cancel me, he made no attempt to spread the word to his fans. It was likely that he was trying to show mercy, but that doesn’t explain why he kept reporting my posts relating to him and current events in Hong Kong, knowing that I would eventually get banned if I didn’t call him out on it. I was as much a victim than I admittedly was an offender of cancel culture.

Following the feud, I’ve become wary of social media censorship because I experienced what it was like for someone to get petty and get people deplatformed by mass reporting them. Other pages like meme pages have suffered the same fate in the past (mostly because people take certain jokes too seriously), but despite my hopes, it didn’t seem like Facebook was going to do anything about the petty mass-reporting of those pages. Recently, however, I’ve been seeing news on tech companies being grilled over the censorship of conservatives and President Trump criticising them for the same thing. I’m not saying that I’m supporting Trump backing the pages that are being censored (conservative, far-right, alt-right, you name it), but I hope that this can hopefully extend to random meme pages being reported for petty reasons.

5. Ever since I decided to stop being toxic, I found myself conflicted when confronted with more toxic comments to the point that I’ve started to become paranoid over negative criticism.

When I decided to change the #NoDubNoBuy page to EDGN, I hoped that the hate towards my page would be reduced somewhat, but I never expected that it would be gone entirely. Since then, three people have made negative comments on the page; one was a girl who saw one of my posts being shared on a private group, misunderstood the (new) purpose of the page and despite her attitude, was still somewhat respectful, one was a Europoor dub hater from Spain (from what I’ve seen and learnt, Europeans tend to be sub fans and/or dub haters because of their English comprehension and ability to read subtitles) and one was an Americuck soyboy dub hater who pointed out about “crybaby fans” (”fans” as in the gatekeeping term “fake fans”, never mind my theory that people, especially men, who call other people, especially other men, “crybabies” are actually spreading toxic masculinity) who liked stuff to be Americanised but didn’t acknowledge the Japanese origins.

I’m gonna go off on a tangent and do a bit of an ad-homimem here (but it’s alright because I’m going to rebut his point next) and point out that I called the Americuck a soyboy because he had quite a long beard, but to be honest, if I called everyone who had beards “soyboys”, that would make people like Count Dankula and Sargon of Akkad “soyboys” as well, so it’d be a pretty slippery slope if I didn’t clarify who I was talking about.

Now, I’m going to move back on another tangent and rebut the soyboy’s point, because I think this is a pretty important point to address. No one is saying outright that they want Japanese games to be Americanised in terms of cultural references (if 4Kids has taught us anything). Saying that Americanisation is responsible for bad dubbing is a bit like blaming video games for causing violence. If someone says that they would like a game to be dubbed into English in localisation, then it is presumed that they want the dialogue to be dubbed in addition to the text being translated (or “dublated”). Any cultural changes made to the game or the dialogue are entirely the responsibility of those who made those changes, like the gaming companies who censor stuff for Western audiences, so if you’re complaining about a Japanese game being too “Americanised”, don’t take it out on dub fans because chances are that they didn’t want the dub to be too “Americanised” either.

Completing the square and going back to the original tangent, I didn’t post any of their comments to the dub hater comments album because I had deleted it after the feud in the hope that I wouldn’t be as toxic as I had been before. You can probably already see how toxic I would probably be if the above responses were posted on the page and directed back at them, which would mean that I’m not upholding myself to the standards I wanted to follow.

6. I’m becoming more and more concerned about current events to worry about things like English dubbing in video games.

If you’re someone who has unironically thought that I was making a big deal over something you thought was minor, then this is going to sound very ironic for you. From all these years of learning and research, I’ve attained an expansive world view and while I have made jokes about current events in the past to lighten the mood or express my anger, deep down I’m actually concerned about these things, particularly in regards to Hong Kong during this politically sensitive time.

For some reason, my desire to make posts has decreased because in addition to the above factors, I’ve been getting more and more worried about current affairs. Granted, the point of things like anime and video games and the Internet is to provide an escape from reality, but in the end, I guess that you have to face it whether you like it or not.

Making the decision to stop posting on EDGN hasn’t been an easy one, but all the factors I described above have gradually made it easier. Like the Undub page did, I had considered changing the focus of my page to merely report on the voice languages of games without saying whether we approve or reject it because it isn’t dubbed in English/Japanese; that is, we report on them with an unbiased viewpoint. Not adding excessively biased pro-dub comments on our posts has made it more neutral, but in the end, it didn’t stop the dub hater cucks. I should point out that one of the reasons why I wanted to change the #NoDubNoBuy page to EDGN was so that we could reduce the amount of hate we were getting.

What was the original goal of me starting this dub crusade? If you have read my rants in the past, then you will have picked up my hopes that Japanese games would be localised to the West with full Japanese and English dubbing and that if game companies couldn’t achieve that, then they should apologise and explain why. Would I say that I achieved or failed to achieve this goal? Not really, because over the years, I learnt a lot about the video game and voiceover industries and gradually realised that it’s not as straightforward as I had initially hoped. To be honest, it was kind of stupid of me to hope that gaming companies would say anything straightforward about this, but on the other hand, I learnt that gaming companies are like politicians as well; they say the things they want to say and not the things people want to hear.

To my fans, particularly my close fans, feel free to send me your opinions about my decision, however if you’re trying to change my mind, then I’m not sure if it can be changed so easily. If you think that I haven’t lived up to what you expect from me, then I’m sorry, but in the end, I have to think of myself as well.

If I could say one thing to the dub fanbase, I want to ask why no one else has ever tried to do something like EDGN. You have your groups and pages on social media and yet, it had to take two people pissed off with the dubbing direction of gaming companies to do it. Granted, that was how the Undub page started, with the lack of Japanese voices in localised games, and yet they didn’t get as much hate as my page did.

If there is anyone out there who wants to follow in my footsteps and make a page like EDGN, let me be the first to give you my blessing because I’m not going to be like the Undub page when they discovered us and point fingers for copying their posts when in the end, games are the same to everyone. While transparency regarding voice languages has increased over the years, there was never a place where dub fans could know about what games were dubbed in English. You don’t have to be like me and make a series of rants about why some games aren’t dubbed, because I’ve already done it, but instead, I suggest going the unbiased route as I stated earlier. Of course, you don’t have to follow my advice - it’s your page, after all.

My plan is to retire from EDGN at the end of the year. I have 12 more games in the backlog, all with English voices, and I’m hoping to post them all on the page before then. I probably won’t remove myself as an admin (because I think there’ll be some petty, obsessed cuck who’ll dig out my posts and make a rant series on me or something), but I’ll probably have it so that I can forget about the page as time goes on.

With this, my dub crusade has come to an end. Once again, to the fans, I’m sorry and I thank you for your support. As always, it is your choice as to whether you wish to continue following me, whether on Facebook or Tumblr, after my retirement.
