I’ve been a huge fan of sakana since forever, and I like self-contained sports stories (the heated drama is peak, but I can’t stick with something super long) so I knew I’d love this graphic novel. and I was right.

I like the ensemble! The focus is primarily on the main character, but you get the sense they’re doing their own stuff in the periphery. wrangling a bunch of art students is a really funny concept and allows for a lot of personality contrasts.

it’s not a romance, but it does have romantic elements, and the love interest-type character is SO funny. there were several scenes with her that legit got a laugh out of me

super worth it, 100% recommended for a fun time. might give ex-art school students psychic damage

Momma and Daddy were always busy at work and Annie hardly got to see them. Even when they were home, she had to be quiet, Momma said, because they had to catch-up on sleep. Annie hated always having to be quiet.

Saturdays were Annie's favourite day. Momma and Daddy still had work but Auntie Lucy always came to visit. She bought Annie anything she wanted and never ever told her to be quiet, Annie loved Auntie Lucy.

But Momma said that since Auntie Lucy was married now, she wouldn't be able to come visit any longer. She was going away to a place called Windenburg which was very very far away. Annie wanted to cry when she found out, but she was a big girl now and she was going to be brave for Auntie Lucy.

I agree with you about Capcom bringing Nash back for SF6! I even made a post in my Threads account about him if Bison comes back, then there is a chance he might return! Please Capcom! Bring my boy back in the series! You been neglecting him for far too long!

I could go on about how I think they could bring Nash back in SF6 for AGES. The sheer fact that F.A.N.G. lived and is in SF6 (Fang Fei/Foo, A.K.I.'s master) makes me think that Nash probably survived his bout with Bison in some degree and could come back but there's so many ways they can go about it they could make it really insane if they wanted to.

They could have the Secret Society/Illuminati revive him again to use as an agent to gain ground against Shadaloo and potentially leverage Gill/the Society into higher threat standing (villain).

They could tie Darkstalkers semi-into Street Fighter and say that the Nash we would see is him after escaping the Makai and give him some more wacky magic-like powers (and give Darkstalkers fans like myself some more crumbs to survive on for a while lol).

They could lean into the Nash/Shadow setup from Marvel vs. Capcom and say that Shadaloo had/has him and the Nash we get to see is totally brainwashed into servitude by Bison or has escaped his brainwashing but like Cammy has no memories of his past. Or hell, just bring 'Shadow' back and it's just Nash but under a different name with different goals in mind!

But those are just my ideas after all.

Capcom needs to give us Nash STAT. I need to see my boy again!

Bryce: Alright! We’ve got a few more days then it’s back to Sulani. Any place you’d like to visit? Renee: Glimmerbrook isn’t so far away so can we please go and visit the Pollock Art Gallery?

Robbie: Why do you even want to go to an art gallery? Your art skills are crap. Renee: Shut up Robbie at least it’s better than yours [sighs] so Dad it’s a famous art gallery owned by the one and only Leif Pollock! You know the Pollocks? They’re all over the media and-

Bryce: Leif Pollock you say, man those were the days. Renee: What do you mean…you mean you’ve actually met him?

Bryce: He was a jerk at first. But in the end we became good friends. Robbie: Dad you know an actual celebrity? I don’t believe you. Bryce: I’m not joking! I’ve even got some photos, now where are those BBQ ones?

Renee: Lemee see…ah I don’t want to see you shirtless Dad and even Uncle Billy knows him? Bryce: your Grandad even knows him [laughs] Leif and Daphne came to our wedding after all.

Had an interesting idea. You may have noticed that in this post I implied that there may be at least one non-game-based living Character-Level server somewhere out in the digital multiverse that nobody knows about yet because they think it's impossible for one to form without outside influence. Well, I figured out which one it is: A universe made from a pirated collection of every official episode, movie, short, music video, and even scans of the dubiously canon IDW comics run of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, along with any other official media I can't think of at the moment. Because I can. Whoever owns the collection doesn't know that they have a real live Equestria at their fingertips because the actual media storage is a layer above the living universe (or universes, what with Starswirl's Mirror Portals), so watching/reading the stuff doesn't affect what's happening down there or vice-versa, and the characters also don't know that they're digital beings brought to life by the love of a fan.

If anyone, be they Program, Virus, Anomaly, or Character, were to go there they'd be changed into a form that fits the universe (so a pony/dragon/griffon/etc. choose whatever fits best in the main world, a human with the same color scheme as their Equestria form in the Canterlot High world) Because Mirror Portal Magic, though Code-Level entities can change back to their usual form if they prefer. When they leave they go back to normal. If any locals ever managed to go to other digital universes they'd stay in their usual forms because Most Universes Don't Do That. It's similar to the Enforced Art Styles of the Cats are Liquid and Fairly Oddparents universes, though FiM and CaL are obviously more drastic than FOP.

The first major characters to find out about this are Ozymandias and Garyboy, who stumble upon it at some point post-release and decide to use it as a base of operations, on the grounds that 1) Nobody else knows this world exists, 2) if anyone else did find it they'd never expect those two to be living there, and 3) the whole transformation thing means they can hide in plain sight. When they're there Garyboy is a purple-and-green pegasus with a black-cupped plunger for a cutie mark, while Ozzy is a vaguely serpentine dragon and his maneuver form is a Kirin. They later find out that prolonged exposure to Equestria's magic has had side-effects, namely that they can now use their Equestrian Form abilities (weather magic for Gary, fire breath, flaming rage form and unicorn magic for Ozzy) in their normal forms. That'll be fun to show off to their enemies.

honestlyyyy i am not super sure because i have everything in my head all the time so i have a very blurry understanding of how difficult dgwicf is to fathom, but i do have summaries written up for gen 1 and gen 2. thats mostly for knowing who everyone is to each other but you could also just use the family tree for that as well. as for what actually matters in dgwicf i think the prologue is a good starting point and then hit the actual story it might just be difficult to know like.. who the characters actually are...
