Part 1

Tim blinked. He raised the image higher, bringing it closer so he could observe it even further.

It was a photo of a small family of four. All of them were male, with black hair and blue eyes. There was Bruce, and Dick, and even Jason, all of them smiling. There was a last person, cuddled against Bruce and more slender compared to him, who had bright blue eyes like ice and very familiar pearls around his neck.

Tim's eyes widened.

"This is..."

"My adopted step-dad, yeah."

Tim jumped and turned around, where Dick was leaning against the door to the attic, hands in his pockets, eyebrows furrowed.

“I’m sorry, I was just curious and I wanted to know more about—”

Dick shrugged. “It’s fine. That man right there was Bruce’s boyfriend. He adopted me and Jason together with Bruce. Before… before Jason died.”

Tim stared at the sorrow on his face, the cold sort of acceptance with the barest hint of resentment. “… what happened?”

Dick sighed and weaved a hand through his hair. “He left. After Jason died.”

Tim’s eyebrows furrowed. He looked back at the photo, where everyone was smiling so happily, where Bruce and that man leaned against each other so trustingly and he asked, “But why? How come he left you guys behind? Why didn’t he…”

“Stay? Because of Bruce,” Dick hissed. “Bruce got Jason killed, but that was only the catalyst. Dad— I mean, Danny always hated how Bruce got too stuck in the mindset of Batman, and he kept asking him to slow down and take breaks, but Bruce refused. They had a fight, just before Jason had a fight of his own with Bruce, and when he got killed—” Dick’s voice choked off.

Tim looked at the photo again, recognizing the love on that unknown, yet familiar face. “So… he didn’t abandon you?”

Dick gave him a small smile. “No, baby bird. Danny wouldn’t abandon me or Jason. He’s away, as a punishment for Bruce.”

Tim stared at Dick. “As punishment?”

Dick nodded carefully. He hesitated for a moment, and Tim just watched his face change as he struggled to articulate his thoughts, before he eventually sighed again and clarified.

“Yes. As punishment for failing to protect their child, Bruce is not allowed to see Jason or Danny until Danny feels that Bruce has repented.”

Tim’s eyes widened as he understood the unspoken information. “Jason is alive?!”

Dick nodded, his expression solemn. “Yes. And because Danny feels that Bruce hasn’t changed, Jason isn’t allowed to go back to him.”

Tim stared. Then he said, “Bruce must be devastated.”

“Mhm. That’s why he’s still in mourning.” Dick gave him a small smile. “Maybe one day, you can meet Jason and Dad— Danny. Until then, practice hard, alright?”

Tim nodded, and as he watched Dick’s back before disappearing behind the door, he couldn’t help but think of the man that he didn’t know, who was beloved enough by Dick to be called “Dad,” who had some unknown power to revive people, and was so deeply mourned by Bruce. He looked back at the photo, where the pearls shone brightly around the man’s neck.

Tim nodded to himself, a plan forming in his mind. After all, he was Robin now, and it was his job to help Batman and fix Gotham, wasn’t it?

== Love Notes / Resources ==

Hey Lovelies, I know 01/09/25 is going to be a very mixed feeling kind of day for everyone. It's the anniversary of the first time S2 was cancelled. It's going to bring up a lot of sad feelings, and you should absolutely sit with those feelings and embrace them. It was a rough time for all of us. There's no shame in feeling that grief again. I know I didn't show it much, but I cried so many times. Seriously, like SO MANY TIMES. My parents asked me if someone whacked me in the face with a shovel (which, thanks folks, I feel so pretty) but it was true-- I was devastated. It was a slow burn for me too because I wanted so very much to keep up hope. Seeing you all really push for the show helped keep me going-- and helped me learn more about how to cope with that kind of grief (and it was grief for so many of us because the show meant so very much-- and changed some of us at our core). No matter how tomorrow makes you feel though, I do want to remind you what came of it. This beautiful community rallied together and did some absolutely AMAZING things this past year (I wish I hadn't been sick this past two weeks cause I wanted to get you some stats). From billboards, to faxing, and calling in to Max, and Netflix, and Amazon, and Apple TV, to raising a SHIT TON of money for SO MANY charities-- to making beautiful works of art and fiction-- to making our cast and crew (not just the actors) feel loved and impactful-- this cancellation brought SO MANY OF US TOGETHER. People stepped out of their comfort zones-- talked to people they didn't know, reached out to streaming platforms and learned to use their voices in ways they'd never done before. We all built our own little communities within the fandom, bit by bit-- and those little communities have spread so much love, and kindness, and made life worth living for so many of us. It's been almost a year for my recaps too-- those officially started on Jan 13th, once again, because of the cancellation, and because of the camaraderie of the crew and all the support we all gave each other. Jan 9 is probably a tough day for most of us, but it's also the catalyst for so many wonderful things, and I'm so very grateful for it in a way. I've gotten to know so many of you, gotten to experience your joy, and participate in your struggles, and vice versa. I've met so many people from all over the world I'd never have once dreamt I could meet-- and I know SO MANY of you have too. This fandom is one of a kind-- and this special show and it's cancellation brought us together. I am still in full clown mode at all times, and I believe S3 is an inevitability, it's just a matter of when-- but no matter when it happens, I'm grateful we got this past year together, and all that came with it. So thank you lovelies. Thank you for being a huge part of my life, and turning it in a much better direction I could ever have thought possible given where I was. Lean on each other tomorrow, okay? We got through this past year together, and we'll get through whatever happens going forward, as a crew. Take care of yourself lovelies, drink some water, and get some sleep. Love you <3

family bonding?

Pairing: Charles LeClerc x Hamilton!OC

Genre: Slice of Life; Fluff; A tad angsty

Author's Note: Sorry it's taken so long, I've been very off-kilter lately. Also please read that one IG post for the joke it is.

The bounce of Charles' knee makes the nerves he claims he doesn’t have blatantly obvious to Iman. Though she can’t imagine why he’s so nervous. He’d met her parents multiple times before and they like him. She understands, to a degree, that it’s their first meeting since telling them that they were together, but it’s been an hour since they’re arrival and they have treated him just the same.

She turns to look at him, brow raised. 

“Definitely not nervous, right?”

“Nope,” he says, but there is a mild stutter.

Iman gives him a look.

“Why are you so nervous? They know you, they clearly still like you. And they’ve meshed well with your family. What’s the problem, my love?” As she asks the question her hand caresses his cheek.

Charles looks tense, but he relaxes a little under her touch.

“I… What if they change their minds?”

“It’s been an hour and there has been no change of mind. I promise, they know that Lewis does enough of the protective nonsense for the both of them and they trust my choices.”

There’s a deep sigh and his head tilts back. Several seconds go by and he takes a breath and nods. The rest of the stressful body language leaves him. Then the smallest workings of a smile starts.

“Are you saying Lewis doesn’t trust you?”

Thoughts of denying that are the first to pop into her head, but she sees the lightness in him and prefers to keep it going. The man can be too hard on himself at times and she’s on a mission to try and curve that. 

Without much hesitation Iman rolls her eyes. “You make his favorite vegan food wrong two times and you never live it down.”

Once more Charles’ head goes back, but this time accompanied by laughter. It brings the same out of Iman.

“What’s so funny?” Arthur asks, hands-on his hips and looking put out by not being let in on the joke.

“Lewis not trusting me with his favorite food.”

Brow raised Arthur takes a seat. So, Iman launches into the story that is funny from start to finish. All three are laughing and it draws some of the others in. First being Logan, because he always needs to be in the loop if something is funny.

By the end of the story everyone is over and listening to how everything went down with barely concealed laughter of their own, well except for Logan he’s very blatant about his. ok so I couldn't get the age order to be the way I wanted and ignore the moms names they're just placeholders;

but here is Abby's immediate family for the bookseller and the florist. François was married to Anne and they had Matt; they got divorced and after the divorce François realized he was Bi. Such is life. Matt was an "every 3 days kid" until he was like 12 and something with the custody came up; he went to being with dad all the time and mom only every other weekend. And by the time he was 15-ish he just stayed with François (and Will) all the time.

Will was married to Dorothy (they were highschool sweethearts who got married at like 19 and everyone was like 'bad idea but go off ig'), they pretty quickly had Jack, and then about three years later Liam. William had some Stuff (TM) happened that made him realize he was gay, him and Dorothy were divorced by the time Liam was 1. They're still decently good friends, even though she moved pretty far away. Jack and Liam always spent summers with her, school year with William and then bounced back and forth for the allotted holidays.

{side note there's eight-ish years between François and Will so Matt is significantly older than Jack and Liam even tho their dads were about the same age when they had their first kid}

I haven't decided exactly but Abby was somewhere between 7-10 when she was adopted; she's older than Liam, about the same age as Jack, and younger than Matt (yes i know what the fic says i'm going to edit some things). Will and François had been together for about 3-ish years when they adopted Abby. (well, William adopted Abby, François got his name added when it became legal where they lived when she was about 12)

Years later, like Liam is in his 2nd year of highschool later, they get early on-set empty nest do some Debating, and end up getting a surrogate and having Peter. Officially they don't know who his bio dad is, but you look at the boy for two minutes and can tell he's a Kirkland. Just,,, Matt is back in town, Abby & Jack are back from College for fall break or smth, Liam is in highschool he's always home but; they sit all the kids down and are just "we have big news, we're having a baby!" and the general reaction is "what-what the fuck? aren't you two like,,, ancient?"

Anyway time goes on, Peter is like 3, Liam moved out to live with his mom and go to college around where she lives, Abby is back with an English degree to help Will run the shop (initially she was going to be a teacher but changed her mind); Jack is getting some long fancy degree no one quite understands but he's hyped about it and he's never been excited about school. And Matt is off wandering a national park and having a grand old time doing it.

Pete is down for a nap François slides in the room with a serious conversation to have with William;

within two years they've adopted Angelique, she's about six when Pete is five so they're close but not as close as Abby and Jack. It's so stereotypical but Abby was super happy to have a sister FINALLY she had kinda been hoping Peter was a girl but it's fine. She's fine.

And then last but def not least in the story there is actually going to be a future chapter when Abby drags Lars to meet her parents with the excuse of "you know that baby my parents have been fostering? Wendy? well the adoption papers finally went through, so legally she's their kid and legally she's my sister and they're throwing a little party and you should come and meet the rest of my family everyone is going to be there yes bring Emma and Henri"

Okay this isn’t gonna be the best written thing ever but I needed to get my thoughts onto paper (or, screen ig) but YES you are so right!! The Tenma’s and Toya consider each other to be like siblings but they aren’t actually siblings or consider eachother adopted or anything and I feel like a lot of people miss that.

Post completion note I basically just started writing about Toya and his relationships with people soz

There’s something inherently different about viewing someone as family compared to actual family, and I’m saying that from experience. Because found family is chosen based on trust and love whereas actual family isn’t always the case because you don’t get a choice about the family you’re born into and this is especially prevalent with Toya (begging everyone to read Never Give Up Cooking it’s a really good insight into his relationship with Tsukasa and Saki).

But the really important thing to note about Toya is that he still has a family and he’s does care about his family. Yes his father and mother were abusive towards him but it’s a very different case to say, Mafuyu and it’s very apparent that Toya does still care about his family even with their difficulties (particularly his mother). And I feel like even though it’s arguably better for him, having him fully adopted into the Tenma family feels like overstepping, I guess.

Comparing to Our Escape for Survival. When Mizuki tells Mafuyu that she can run away from her situation, this ultimately means running away from home. But pre-canon when Tsukasa told Toya he could run away from his situation, to Toya it meant quitting classical and pursuing a different type of music, it never meant running away even with how his parents were treating him. Even though he doesn’t really like his home life all that much (particularly at the start of the game), and he has a strained relationship with his family, Toya does have a family. Two families even. He has his actual family and his chosen family with the Tenma siblings. Considering how both the Tenma siblings are, they probably know that Toya would be better off if he was with them sometimes but they also know what lines not to cross. Toya was given the choice to run away, and he ran away from his family legacy. This went a bit offtopic I apologise I am literally just writing everything that comes in my head.

Toya’s life isn’t perfect and he’s not having the best time with his family all the time (it seems to be getting better w time but Harumichi doesn’t show up a lot) but he never choses to leave it behind because even if his family life is doing him in he has the Tenma’s and he has VBS. The Tenma’s are especially important to him because they are his home away from home. Tsukasa in particular is extremely important to him because he gave him the confidence to run away from the burden of his legacy. There’s an area conversation I think where Toya mentions that the reason he loves mystery novels is because he’s drawn to stories about finding people after meeting the Tenma’s and it’s so!!! They are found family they are Toya’s chosen family and they’re bond is so important to Toya (pretty sure it was mentioned in one of those magazine “interviews” that Tsukasa and maybe Saki are the most important people to him. Take it with a grain of salt because those interviews are so hard to come by and I read it a while ago).

Like you said reducing it to “siblings” doesn’t do justice to how deep and important Toya’s relationship with the Tenmas is, it is so much more complex than just siblings.

There’s something about how a lot of project sekai fans approach found family that just. I dunno, rubs me the wrong way i guess? I feel like a lot of people are missing the point.

Sibling HCs are very popular in this fandom and I’m not saying that’s a bad thing (i even have a couple myself) but the way people treat them is very nuclear, and agh I just really feel like you’re missing out on the nuanced platonic relationships that come with found family.

Like found family doesn’t fit conventional “nuclear family” dynamics. That’s the whole point! You can have a deep familial platonic bond with someone but that doesn’t always equate to siblings. I’m talking about this more in a fanon sense, because in game the Tenma’s and Toya consider each other like siblings, but I feel like especially on twitter people are overdoing it, for lack of a better term, with the sibling HCs.

I’m not trying to say it’s bad, have your fun HCs no one’s stopping you, but so many people I’ve seen recently where like every platonic ship they have (especially m/f ones) they consider as a sibling duo/trio/etc. And you are seriously missing the point of found family when you are building a whole extremely nuclear mum/dad/siblings dynamic between cast members. It’s all about the unconventional yet still familial bond. Found family is so good to explore because of the fact it isn’t the “default” family structure. You aren’t quite siblings or don’t have a parent/child dynamic, but you are family!!

Like just to talk about the fact that sibling HCs are something I see constantly with platonic m/f relationships as well. I know not everyone does this but so many people completely write off m/f friendship - either you are a couple or you are siblings. And maybe this is because of heteronormativity and the expectation that men and women who are friends must have underlying romantic interest in the relationship and if they don’t then they’re biologically related but maybe it’s not but still! Don’t overlook it. Normalise platonic m/f relationships they don’t need to be romantic or familial they can just be friends and I feel like this is such an underutilised dynamic in prsk fanon content, which is unusual considering it is so fucking prominent in the game particularly with VBS and WxS.

And even outside of m/f, platonic relationships of all gender combinations within the fandom are so so so overlooked. “But they’re not” okay you can’t just say “they are all besties <3” and get a pass because it feels like you have a very idealistic and blatantly unrealistic idea of how friendship works to the point it feels almost ingenuine. Like placing them all on that same level of frienship when friendship is so nuanced and truthfully you’re not gonna be that close with everyone. You grow distant from people or just never grow that close to people but these interactions can still be incredibly important even if they aren’t connected to a deep personal bond. On the other side of things you can have an extremely deep bond and close attachment to someone and it can be entirely platonic and just platonic. Not romantic not familial not queerplatonic. It’s just friendship and this game is all about platonic relationships even if it does delve into ship tease at times. Literally the theme that ties everything together is unity and friendship and community.

And this is getting offtopic from found family so I now present to you: Wonderlands x Showtime - the unit whose underlying theme is literally found family and I am willing to fight people on this. According to wikipedia (unreliable source, i know), found family is "a non-biologically related group of people established to provide ongoing social support". And while this applies to every unit in the game to some degree, it perfectly describes the WxS dynamic. Yes I know Niigo fits that definition too but their overall dynamic is a lot more centred around emotional support and some of their dynamics are still somewhat detached because of their individual situations and mental health problems. But WxS is about the social support aspect and it is staring you right in the face. Everyone in WxS was a weirdo or outcast or alone in some way but they find solidarity and a place to belong with each other. Nene was too shy and insecure to face people, Emu wanted to be taken seriously, and Rui was shunned and outcast for who he was. Tsukasa had a dream to become a star, Emu found him and hired him so she could fulfil her dream of revitalising the stage, which led to Rui being brought along and finally giving him somewhere where he was accepted, who got Nene to go with him so she could overcome her insecurities and perform again. They have each other when they don't have other people, they support each other in achieving their dreams because they share the same passion even if their goals lie on different paths. And it's just so fucking good. They aren't siblings, they aren't love interests* - they are friends. They are found family by definition and by example and it's not nuclear - it doesn't fit a familial structure at all they aren't siblings, it isn't a parent/guardian-child dynamic. It just is and that's what matters most.

Uhh I'm still bad at ending these things. Platonic relationships in Project SEKAI are important and you shouldn't water them down to fit nuclear family dynamics or idealistic expectations and accept that they have nuance and aren't always going to be perfect without flaws. Also heteronormativity bad, m/f friendship good, WxS is found family and you can anon hate me on that (also that was meant to be part of a different essay that has been in my drafts for months but the demons won).

Modern college au rambheem (I’m going based off of the American college experience sorry y’all)

Bheem used to be homeschooled, comes from a small town, is also super tatted and pierced (yes this thought is inspired by @eremin0109’s post about Bheem’s tattoes), so at first glance people think he’s scary/weird or whatever but the second he smiles people realize he’s an actual cinnamon roll. His town’s one of those rural ones with horses and stuff, he’s your stereotypical ag kid. I kinda want to say he’s majoring in mechanical engineering, minoring in animal studies.

Ram is a scholarship kid who’s also from a small town but moved to a bigger city for high school, and he’s the one all the professors love. He studies often, aces his exams, and is often in professors’ office hours (sort of like a teachers pet but in college ig). He’s also (recently) an orphan so he’s determined to get a good job and stuff to support himself. He’s double majoring in philosophy and political science, with the end goal being to get into law school. wajt this can be jennysita as well

Seetha is Ram’s cousin and also an orphan but let’s say she was adopted into Rams family at a young age so like Ram she’s also focusing on her studies to support herself. Going with my doctor!sita verse to say she’s majoring in PNB (physiology and neuroscience). Everyone thinks she and Ram are a couple but she prefers women.

Jenny is one of those legacy kids but she’s cool about it and actually tries hard, and bonds with Seetha when they meet at a progressive political discussion club. I’ll say she’s majoring in sociology with a minor in human rights.

anyway but Rambheem end up in the same gen ed, one that neither wants to take, and they’re assigned into being study partners and they start falling for each other

maybe the conflict is that Ram thinks Bheem and Jenny are dating (they live on the same floor and bond over shit talking their RA) and Bheem thinks Ram and Seetha are together (he doesn’t know they’re cousins) and comedy ensues

I have a lot of thoughts about this now but some specific things include Bheem learning to navigate college, Jenny finding out she’s into women actually after being raised straight by her homophobic aunt and uncle, Rambheem sneaking into the astronomy lab at night and accidentally having a romantic stargazing date (first kiss maybe?), and Seetha and Bheem bonding over how hard their degrees are

When Kelce told me his friends topper and Rafe were coming around I thought nothing of it. Until I met topper Thornton. He was all bright eyed and jokey with me and I kinda liked it. He was fit yes that was the first thing I noticed but the fact he didn’t just treat me like kelce little sister attracted me even more. We wasn’t even related properly kelce and I, I was adopted but still all his friends treated me like I was a baby. Apart from topper.

“Y/n, Will you get out the front room?” Kelce strode in again with a sour face. He’d asked me several times but I refused “tell me why” I folded my arms sitting up with the blanket wrapped around me. They spread like a knife across my face with a mind of there own. he distracted me so much I spilt some of my coffee while stirring. “Oops here” topper grabbed a tissue. “Um- I’m not sure kelce wants me there actually” “who cares what he wants” topper whispered with a finger to his lips. “We’re watching it downstairs on the big tv- bringing down the mattresses and sleeping down here, you don’t wanna miss it do you?”

The blonde boy smiled down at me after wiping up my mess. “Thanks- and sure no I don’t wanna miss that I guess” I sniggered. “I want you there Plus you know what kelce is like- he will fall asleep by one am, I’ll need someone to talk too”. I watched the two boys carry the two mattresses in to the front room taken from the spare bedrooms and then a load of covers from them beds and the cupboard. The pillows and snacks were infinite. The bottles of coke and sprite and the packets of crisps, sweets and chocolate all covered the outsides of the beds. “This is gonna be fun” topper winked seeing me out the corner of his eye in the door way. It was practically eleven by the time the boys had sorted everything and where ready to settle down.

“Y/n come on” topper told me nodding his head to the space next to him. “Top? Seriously” kelce whispered to his best friend, it was Loud enough for me to hear though. “yeah seriously” topper replied straight away with a flick of an eye movement. “Fine! but she’s on the sofa” he eyed topper so he didn’t get any ideas. But ideas were all I could think about at a time like this. “Sure” I agreed remembering when topper said my brother fell asleep quickly. “We’re watching a horror so suck it up” he scoffed as I walked past getting comfortable on the sofa.

“S-sure” I hated horror films. But I wouldn’t let that stop me. They pretty much sat there taking the piss out of the film and joking about kids in there collage while eating there snacks. I didn’t understand much so I was on my phone trying to ignore the film. We softly heard snoring around half one coming from my brother. “Y/n? You awake?” Topper whispered rolling over facing me. “Mmh” I answered “told you didn’t I” he half laughed. “Yes you did” i hummed- my heart beating fast from the film. “You okay?” “I hate horror films” I whispered back to him. I heard a chuckle apear from the dark.

“That’s cute” he whispered reaching up for my hand he thumbled with my fingers in silence I supposed that was meant to comfort me and it did a bit. A bang came from the screen and I jumped trying my best not to scream. Topper laughed again “do you want me to turn it off?” “No your watching it plus I like back ground noise” “come down here then” he hissed it was quite commanding which I liked but there was a hint of a question in there. Obviously I wasn’t gonna say no. I slid down to his mattress and topper wrapped me in his arms though at arms length so he could see me.

“your shaking hun” he whispered rubbing my arm up and down with his big soft hand. I could see his beautiful face now from the light of the tv he was staring at me with a gleaming smile. I’m not sure what brought on the urge to kiss him but that’s all I wanted to do. “Y/n” topper whispered quite hushed in a sudden, I nodded sorta in a day dream. He leant in quickly and softly latched our lips together. I was taken back for half a second but this is all I had thought about since I’d met him. His hands moved to my waist and so I moved so I was sitting on top of him still holding his face kissing. “Top- my brother” I giggled covering my mouth my face reddened underneath. “You kissed me back- my fucking god you kissed me back” he freaked out under his breath.

“I’ve wanted to do that for ages” he smirked. “Me too- Come on” I took his hand pulling topper up and taking him out of the room turning to the kitchen and switching on the lights. We looked at each other and started laughing. “Why’d you kiss me back?” He asked coming over to me holding my waist comfortably in all seriousness. “You can pretend like you don’t know I have the fattest crush on you Topper Thornton- but I’ll say it ,just for you”. His eyes widened and he licked his lips. “I seriously didn’t think you’d like me back- thought you just saw me as your brothers mate you had to get on with” topper tucked my y/h/c hair behind my left ear pulling me closer to his body.

“You know- everyone else saw me as kelce’s baby sister but you, your different top- and I really like that about you”. My body was still shaking not from the film anymore but the shock of it all. “You make me feel differently the other guys” I whispered smirking throwing a hint in there. “This is mad” he giggled lifting me up. I quietly squealed wrapping my legs around his torso and my arms around his neck. “I know” I held his face not even feeling the awkwardness I used to. I felt so comfortable around him like I’d been with him my whole life. Topper sat me on the side of my kitchen and I pulled him into my body.

“What happens next?” He asked me leaning his face close. “I don’t know about next, all I know is right now I’ve never been happier” I snaked my hand into his soft brownish hair playing with the strands with my nails. “If you were any other girl I’d take you right up to your room now” topper hinted with clear eye contact “but your different babe- I wanna take this slow, when it happens it happens sorta thing yeah?”I nodded genuinely agreeing with a belly full of excitement and joy of what ever was going to come next.

“But we can head up there and go sleep- My eyes are getting heavy” “of course baby girl” he picked me up again with ease i reframed from laughing too loud and we crept past kelce in the living room. We climbed the stairs then into my bed and he pulled me into a bear Hug my head laying on his chest “I’ve dreamed about being in this bed” topper whispered, I laughed whacking him lightly “good night beautiful” he kissed the top of my head with meaning.

FINALLY SOMEONE SAID THE TRUTH.

I admit that i enjoyed act 3 but it feels like really rushed i have so much complain with that.

The build up until act 2 was so good it give us so much premise but the final blow si meh. Sorry that i want to share thing long rant with you

1. Why the final talk is with yae, no offense to her but we need ei to explain not to mention she witness khaenriah downfall so she can give us more information, i feel like they do it for the plot armor so they can just keep dragging this

2. So many things that quite inconsistant, the shogun is show no mercy to anyone that even did a little thing outside what she think its right, how come she can still have a talk with signora, when sara is falling like that, and also there is no clarification about sara right now.

The traveler was so done at first they refuse to help thoma and ayaka at the beginning. But they seem so happy and forget everything how come they are not RAGE ( okay maybe this is to bias and personal) when this nation provide nothing about our siblings information and also why they are not mention anything about their problem in ei stroy quest. Its nonsense! She is right in front of youu, ask about your siblings, ask about khaenriah, ask about ukmown god!!. How come they can just forget like that. Also mihoyo really waste the potential about twin things i thing ei will give us so much help bcs of the sympathy that we both rn lost our twin but noooo.

3. Kokomi seem lost some brain cell, she make a very succesfull grand intro but she become meh in act 3, how come a great strategist like her let the sus sponsorship slip just bcs they are desperate, not to mention her screen time is really small and her role seem so unsignificant and it feels lile she is a plain npc.

4. The awesome world quest that we have done doesnt get any mention at all! Inazuma owe us so much with cleansing sakura, thunder sakura, tatarigami, obarashi quest. It has so much potential that yae or ei or anyone else aknowledge what traveler has been done but nooo.

cracks knuckles... i suppose it's time for my promised dissertation. interestingly enough, you touched on a lot of the main issues i had with chapter III.

i think that if i had to pin the main issue, it's a lack of overall cohesiveness? we were jumping all over the place without the chance to ever flesh things out. inazuma is a smaller cast, but i feel like we didn't get to see any of them shine. since i'm most interested in the genshin characters, i'll break down my problems by going over everyone and their (lack) of impact on the story.

was ayaka not questioned or placed under suspicion for being close to thoma before his escape? i wanted to see her broken up over her duties as they relate to the yashiro commission, paired with having someone she genuinely cares about in danger. it would've been an interesting struggle if she was forced to choose one or the other. instead she just kinda took a back seat.

speaking of thoma, i don't even have anything to say, because he just... was there? for .0001 seconds. said "lol this sucks ig" and that's about it. i know we're going to get a story for him in the future since he's a 5* but i'm not getting my hopes up 😭 then in the raiden shogun's character story, man is peachy keen! be upset with the raiden shogun! have some inner conflict! even if it's just using loaded language because he's under surveillance for going against the raiden shogun, that'd be so cool. saying something like,

"Traveler, what's with that expression? Oh please, there's nothing to worry about. We're under the Statue of the Omnipresent God's protection. Nothing bad has ever happened here." *wink*

i also don't know what to say about gorou. he was... there....... i think. what is he fighting for? what are the stakes for him? what makes him place so much trust into kokomi? i'm out of things to say about him because i don't remember anything he did or said.

kokomi... oh kokomi... i was so hyped. so excited. i thought that maybe we could see a foil to the raiden shogun. that she'd have a moment where she's forced to realize, just like her opponent, sacrifices must be made that will hurt people who will never understand why she made them. or maybe something to show her military prowess. but instead she just accepts a mysterious patron's help (?), sees her people aging like the grateful dead from JJBA, and goes oh well. that sucks. what can ya do. oh bye traveler i guess, good luck with that. ????????????? HUH... similar case to thoma where she's gonna get a character story but like. she won't be the leader of the resistance anymore. that was her whole shtick. they took her shtick away. also she forced me to interact with more NPCs whose names i've already forgotten so i'm tilted about that still.

KUJOU SARA... AN INJUSTICE. A DISGRACE. a slap to my woman loving face. the build up was there. yae miko's comments about sara probably knowing the tenryou commission is involved in shady dealings, but is choosing not to think about it. sara being forced to confront reality and challenge her adopted father with the truth. being able to blaze a new path for herself in the process. when she started running to the raiden shogun i was ultra hyped up. sara, a devotee to the shogun for so long, was about to see her god interacting with the same people who led inazuma to this awful state. how would she react? would she stay ignorant, like yae miko so coyly said, choosing to look away in favor of following her god's footsteps? or would she be forced to recognize the raiden shogun isn't as divine as she once thought, and challenge her belief system?

we open the door to see the raiden shogun. the loading screen ensues. the camera pans to the ominous room, clouded in darkness, hinting at the ominous confrontation that is to come. the music takes a serious timbre. and then...

well fuck that potential character arc i guess. (we still don't know what sara made of any of this since she poofed out of existence from the story at this point)

kazuha also was handed a similar treatment. we've been with him for a while longer now. he is our introduction into inazuma, the one who first gets us emotionally involved by regaling us with the bittersweet tale of friendship that led him to becoming a wanted criminal. a kind soul who loves nature yet was dealt a cruel hand by fate, forced to watch his home nation turn into a hostile place, where his dear friend ultimately perished as a result. we get the scene with his friend's vision lighting back up. he parries a block from the raiden shogun, in the same area where his friend was killed by her. the parallels. the drama. except this time, he wasn't too late. he protected the traveler where he "failed" to protect his friend in the past. did he feel redemption at this? or was it a bittersweet reminder of what could've been?

WELL i guess we'll never know because we didn't get to talk to him again 😭 idk who got a bait and switch worse, him or sara. jesus christ mihoyo.

then we have signora. why is the raiden shogun talking to her? does she know about the gnosis being taken, and if she doesn't, what was her plan to get it from the archon? what does she think about scaramouche? and oh, okay, we're fighting here now. good fight + god tier music. pog pog. okay, now we've beaten her up, and raiden shogun wyd— wait no not signora her lore is still on CUPS not YET raiden shogun and— ah she's dead. okay. non nerds who didn't read artifact lore are going to know nothing about her. signora has such an interesting story, and yet... well. ok.

then we get raiden shogun redemption (?) arc. i was hype for this as well, though at that point, idk why i bothered being hype. i knew they were gonna do a cute power of friendship something or another, and i'm good with that, so long as it's executed well. what i was envisioning was like seven different buffs to correspond with the seven different visions, the dreams of those whose ambitions were stolen serving as the spear to penetrate the raiden shogun's heart of stone. maybe a hydro vision giving us extra healing for a time, with the voice acting over it being like,

"Even if the rest of the world forgets us, let our will carry you through this one final time. Succeed where we couldn't, Traveler."

so on and so forth.

but instead we got— you get the idea at this point. why bother spelling it out anymore.

at that point i was surprised the raiden shogun didn't go "oopsie woopsie!! we made a fucky wucky!!!" because that was the vibe i was getting. i love ei, don't get me wrong, but i wanted to see her challenged with what she had done to inazuma in the past year. maybe meeting NPC #2345259 who lost her sister to the vision decree or something, reminding ei of the love she held for her sister... being forced to come to terms with the extent of what she's done in pursuit of eternity.

anyway. please for the love of god mihoyo hire better writers for the main story. that is all i ask. thank you.

my idea for the curse was that reader would be in the modern day timeline, same as vil, but instead of getting transported to where he was they would be transported back to where the curse got cast in the first place, so basically probably somewhere around reader's hometown, of which would not be the remote island which NRC is located. so now reader is very lost bc sure it's home but things are bound to change that it's hard to get around, they know NO ONE alive except vil and who the hell is going to believe they know THE vil schoenheit poor reader.

my general idea was that reader would be found and helped by someone but could not decide which one i liked more, which was 1) reader's great great (insert more greats) grand nieces/nephews were like "eyo you look exactly like my ancestor the one who used to always cause trouble and then disappeared out of no where" 2) some old couple was like "we miss our children and grand kids they never visit, therefore you are OURS now adopted #faestyle"

and then reader learns about how difficult it is to get to the remote island so theyre like cool cool what the fuck this is so pricey also bc vil probably never taught reader about inflation so readers like THIS COSTS WHAT but anyway they cant take advantage of whoevers taking them in bc theyre good now no more troublemaking so ig they have to get a job dang

anyway as for the reactions... i can imagine rook PROBABLY overheard vil talking to "himself" a few (many) times so he's making connections he's a smart lad, im thinking the first (or ig third years in this scenario) years particularly prefect are like "eyo... secret lover??? so scandalous" or maybe epel, who cant hear properly unlike jack or rook, is like "wow who knew vil was the type of person to just flirt with a stranger wild behavior"
