Slingshot Loosed
This is a true (from my perspective) account of my recent interaction with Tif. I encourage you to read to the bottom of this post because I make a demand of Tifaine, supported with a statement of action should the demand not be taken seriously. It's a long blog post.
Some of you may remember that back in my December 23rd post "Peace before..." I promised to share a story that could quite possibly ruffle someone's feathers. A story that pits a Goliath in our Lukola/Jakola world with little ol' David-esk me. Until now, I haven't used my slingshot to strike at the giant. I certainly planned on doing so right away (Dec 23rd, in fact), but decided to sit with everything through the holidays because who wants to go into battle when Joy's North Star is shinning in the night sky?
The easiest place to begin is at the almost beginning
Two weeks ago tonight (Friday, December 20th), I was gifted with some "fun" cyber bullying and intimidation at the hands of Tif. Oh... and there was also some lovely bashing by her and her Minions that night on her Discord.
That's the almost beginning. The actual beginning was me. Yes I started this fine mess by sticking my tongue into my own cheek and calling a hypocrite a hypocrite in an IG story. Not cool on my part, and not my usual style. I'm a "working in the background to mobilize the forces" type; not a "shout across the playground and shake my fist" kinda Chickie.
So what exactly did you do, Tori and why?
Why. Like you all, I'm sick and tired of the Jakeholes... the Minions who live and speculate in Tif's discord chat, with Tif fully engaged in, feeding and encouraging the delulu-ness. Many of you know that I've moved my Lukola live streams off of TikTok because over there, the Minions would descend and cause mayhem. Those participating in chat didn't deserve the crap the Jakolas' would drop! It is my opinion (shocker) that the Jakolas should stay on their Arctic Ocean and let us Lukolas enjoy our Caribbean Sea. In my lives I'd encourage everyone to bask in our sunshine while ignoring side-characters and Jakolas. In my chat groups we collectively did the same. Yet the Jakolas continued to troll, tag Nicola in "N loves her boyfriend J!" type posts (tags she removes - tags she no longer allows, btw!), and make stupid comments on her friends' posts. Poor Louisa spent hours cleaning up the comments after sharing her 2024 photos!
Why continued. A couple weeks ago a screenshot from Tif's discord chat came to my attention. In that chat, Tif laughed at herself for playing both sides of the fandom. She said something like "Here I am saying cute things to you Jakolas, only for me to go over and say cute things to the Lukolas". I was furious that she could be so cavalier in her hypocrisy and that no one called her out for it! Everyone I know grumbles about how two-faced she is in the fandom; about how she has this unwitting group of followers who need to learn (if they didn't suspect already) who she is and how she is playing them. Like a fiddle.
What. Obviously I wasn't able to take my own advise to ignore her. I used that screenshot, added my own thoughts on the image encouraging people to not follow hypocrites, and posted it to my IG stories. Not my greatest moment.
Do I regret posting that image to my story? As a method of trying to influence and change a mindset in the fandom about her role in the divisions in our fandom; yes. And for that I extend an apology to Tif. Like I said, I prefer to work within the collective openly and honestly, sharing thoughts and opinions - making clear that they are MY thoughts, shared as information for others to make an informed opinion of their own. Throwing stones isn't useful, really. The proof is here, in this post.
Do I regret my why? Absolutely not! Tif is a hypocrite and everyone should be talking about it and unfollowing all of her platforms. This is definitely a counterproductive statement after my simple apology above. Oh well.
Needless to say, I wasn't all that surprised when Tif responded. I expected her to. What I was surprised about, however, was the gaslighting and lies she told. And that's why I'm here now, NOT working in the background within the collective... why I've decided to shout in the playground and shake my fist... why I've decided to tuck a stone into my slingshot, stand ready like David, swing that piece of leather, release the stone, and see if I can bruise Goliath enough that she'll provide me with the apology I deserve.
Below you'll find the set of IG stories that Tif posted on that Friday night, two weeks ago, along with commentary where appropriate.
On the right is my IG story post. Please note that the white block sentence at the top starting "Me..." is what Tif added. She starts her "story" by gaslighting her IG followers saying that the comment I circled (pink) is really her "being happy for Nicola and her relationship" while also saying cute things on the Lukola channel. Sure. Whatevs. But do the Lukola channel members know you're over in the Jakola chat making fun of being cute in both places, like a hypocrite? Probably not.
The next three images go together, starting with Tif circling my "don't follow fakes & hypocrites":
In order to paint me as a hypocrite, Tif finds that waaaaayyyyy back when I first started my TikToc account, in the middle of August, I followed her account. She's dredging up a follow from 4 months ago as proof that I'm a hypocrite because I follow her, one of the most popular creators (at the time) in the fandom... the person who's edits likely motivated me to even create a dreaded TT account just so that I could see them. You too? I bet so!! I've heard from many people who tell me they joined TT for edits from creators like her. And the image to the right? That's her emphasizing the "follow back" that TT automatically includes with every follow... as though I specifically ASKED her to follow me. How stupid does she think her followers are if THIS bit of gaslighting works on them?! Don't answer that in case you fell for it.
"So embarassing" Tif says.
For her perhaps. She's the gaslighting fool, and she's been caught.
Now the most important part of her stories... THE LIE
Above she states, and I quote:
...this is coming from a lady who admitted to be at the origin of a very mocky troll account about Jake.
"Admitted to"; "origin of"; "troll account about Jake".
NO. I AM NOT the creator of, or at the origin of, ANY mocky troll account about Jake. About anyone for that matter!
Just writing about this bold ass lie brings tears of anger to my eyes. Who the fuck does this woman think she is that she can blast this kind of shit all over her hugely followed IG account and not be held accountable?! A fucking hypocrite, troll, fake, cyber bully... that's who!
Who's exposing the "nonsense" now?!
Tif finishes off her harassment of me in her IG stories with the following:
This liar, this bully, says she doesn't encourage hate. Right. I have Discord screenshots that say differently. Check out this one posted in response to Tif (poster's name is blocked... for now):
Tif says not to come to her defense... but that's what her followers do, and she seems to love and crave the attention. She comes into her IG stories and laments about how everyone beats up on her, and her Minions all respond: "We love you Tif!" "They're all horrible, Tif!" And she eats up that underserved devotion like a fucking emotional vampire.
In her last story post she says all the reasons you should unfollow her. Like a typical manipulator well versed in gaslighting, she sounds very reasonable. I could almost believe her if I didn't already know that she lied about me in her IG stories, that she didn't herself say - in her own writing and words - that she plays both sides all cutsie-like, that she didn't gaslight everyone by suggesting that I requested a follow from her when TT does that automatically with every follow one receives. She recommends that those of us who feel the way I do should unfollow her. That is the most reasonable thing I've seen or heard her say, ever!
Where does that leave us? Here:
Tifaine. You owe me an apology for the lie you told about me. A loud one in your Discord. A loud one in your IG stories. Immediately. You must make haste!
If you don't offer that apology I will do everything in my power to connect with agents of Nicola and Luke to advise them that you've used their images - as evidenced above - to bully and intimidate on social media. It won't necessarily be easy for me to do, but believe me I'll make it happen! You don't deserve to share their images if you're going to do it in such a disrespectful manner! I recommend that you take this statement very, very seriously. If you don't, the result could be a cease and desist order from the pair you claim to "love".
There's a good chance that Tif won't see this post. If you know her, make sure she does. She doesn't want me to act. She really doesn't.
Tori

You could tell Elijah was upset. His jaw was tight, and he kept flicking his cufflinks, a sure sign that he was done with the chaos around him. The Mikaelson Christmas party, which started as a refined and intimate event, had spiraled into something else entirely.
The decorations, once perfect, were either being knocked over or trampled on. The music had gone from Christmas classics to the tasteless modern ones you knew he disliked. To top it all off, someone had spilled wine on the rug, and Elijahâs patience was hanging on by a thread.
He stood by the Christmas tree, his shoulders stiff, glaring at a woman who nearly knocked over a tray of glasses.
You sighed, knowing you couldnât let him stew in his frustration all night. He needed a drink and a distraction. Preferably one that involved you.
Grabbing a glass of whiskey from the bar, you wove through the crowd toward him. His face softened slightly when he saw you, though his frustration was still obvious.
âHello, my love,â he greeted, his voice warm but strained.
âI thought you might need this,â you said, handing him the glass.
He took it, downing the drink in one go. You winced as his grip tightened around the glass, wondering if heâd accidentally shatter it.
âThank you,â he murmured, setting the empty glass on a nearby table and running a hand through his hair.
You glanced around the room. The noise was deafening, and the elegant ambiance Elijah had worked so hard to create was long gone. âThis isnât quite what you had in mind, huh?â
Elijahâs lips twitched, though it wasnât quite a smile. âItâs mayhem,â he muttered. His eyes followed Kol, who was enthusiastically encouraging two guests to drink from the now-spiked punch bowl.
âItâs not that bad,â you said, trying to sound optimistic. âAt least people are having fun.â
âIf this is your idea of fun, I fear we have very different definitions of the word,â he replied dryly.
You laughed softly, but before you could respond, a loud burst of laughter and squeals erupted from the dance floor. Both of you turned toward the commotion to see Klaus spinning two blondes in opposite directions while a third clung to him, laughing uncontrollably.
Klaus was in his element, his face lit with mischief as he orchestrated the chaos. The women stumbled, colliding into other dancers, who then spilled their drinks, creating even more pandemonium.
âOf course,â Elijah muttered under his breath.
One of the blondes, clearly emboldened by alcohol, attempted to climb onto Klausâs back. He caught her effortlessly, grinning like the devil himself as he twirled her around, nearly taking out a nearby couple.
You couldnât help but laugh at the absurdity of it. âHeâs having a great time.â
âAt my expense,â Elijah muttered.
The music changed to an obnoxiously loud dance remix of Jingle Bells and Klaus raised his arms triumphantly, shouting, âNow this is a party!â The room erupted in cheers, as though Klaus himself had blessed the event.
Elijah pinched the bridge of his nose. âI cannot believe I share blood with that man.â
âCome on,â you said, tugging on Elijahâs sleeve. âYou canât let Klaus have all the fun.â
Elijah hesitated, glancing at the crowded dance floor, then back at you. âIâm not sure thatâs the solution.â
âIt is,â you insisted, grabbing his hand and pulling him toward the crowd.
Reluctantly, he followed. His hand slid around your waist, pulling you closer. The warmth of his touch made your cheeks warm, and you smiled up at him as you began to sway.
âI donât recall half these people being on the guest list,â he muttered, his gaze scanning the room.
You bit your lip, trying not to laugh. âRebekah mightâve invited... a few extras.â
His brow furrowed. âThis was supposed to be a refined event, not-â
âA disaster?â you teased.
Elijah sighed, though his lips curved into a small smile. âSomething like that.â
âI think Kol has spiked more than just the eggnog,â you added, unable to keep the amusement out of your voice.
Elijah scoffed. âOf course he did.â
You rested your head against his chest, trying to soothe him. âItâs okay, Elijah. You canât control everything. You did a great job planning this.â
He didnât respond immediately, but you felt the tension in his shoulders begin to ease and he pressed a soft kiss to the top of your head.
âYou always know how to calm me,â he murmured, his voice low and warm.
You smiled, looking up at him. âItâs a talent.â
As the two of you swayed under the twinkling lights, the chaos of the party seemed to fade into the background. For a moment, it was just the two of you, wrapped in each otherâs arms.
âThank you,â Elijah said, his dark eyes meeting yours. âFor reminding me what truly matters.â
You grinned, leaning up to kiss his cheek. âMerry Christmas, Elijah.â
And just like that, the party didnât feel like a disaster anymore.

Slow Burn: Fucking Zoro in the bathroom
WARNINGS: MINORS AND AGELESS BLOGS DNI. THIS IS NSFW CONTENT.
Authorâs note: Pure, nasty smut. A continuation of my Slow Burn series, but you don't need to read the previous parts to enjoy what is written here. Note that the (afab) reader is on birth control, so Zoro gets to creampie her as much as he likes. This is some classic bathroom fucking (chefâs kiss). (´ á´ď˝âż) p.s. I am writing from the heart here and fully endorse bathroom fucking! (âżËľ ęĄ3ęĄËľ)
Slow Burn: Fucking Zoro in the bathroom
After your first indecent encounter with Zoro in the crowâs nest, you two couldnât keep your hands off each other. In the days following, you shared as many secret moments together as you could get away with, sneaking around and fucking each other with such ferocity you were surprised he didnât straight up break your pussy somehow. Zoro was an animal, and a touch-starved one at that. He was counting his lucky stars because he was now living out many of the fantasies that had been building in his mind for monthsâand you were better than any fantasy he could have imagined.
A couple days after you first had sex, the crew was crowded around the dinner table. The conversation was loud and rowdy, but Zoro was quieter than usual. You were sitting across from one another and as you inspected him you caught him staring at your chest, not so subtly. He was absolutely locked in on the outline of your breasts through your tank-top, round and supple, nipples hard (it was a bit chilly). You werenât wearing a bra, but then again, you didnât wear one on the ship very often. No one really cared (of course Sanji was enthused). Zoro indulged in staring at you because heâd been in agony, not letting himself sneak any glances in your direction for ages. Now that he finally had his, er, âfoot in the door,â he felt like he had the green light to take certain liberties. One of them was shamelessly staring at your tits, just for a few moments. It was like he was malnourished, and you were the first meal he had in years. He needed you so bad it was borderline ridiculous. You honestly wondered if he was in heat or something.
He stayed relatively quiet for the rest of dinner and then when people were washing up their plates, he seemed glued to his seat, rooted to the spot. âZoro, you okay?â You asked. He nodded, giving you a look. As in, a painfully obvious âI want to fuck youâ look that you had only seen once before. You returned the look and jolted as he slid his leg over to yours under the table and rested it on you. Was Zoro playing footsie? You tilted your head slightly, raised your eyebrows and rubbed your leg back on his.
The table was so small that it was easy to bump knees with people underneath it, and this allowed Zoro to inconspicuously reach his arm under the table and grab your thigh. It helped that everyone else was washing up or chatting elsewhere. You blushed a bit and snapped your gaze down to where his crotch would be (had the table not been in the way) and then back up to his eyes. You had a feeling he was hard right now. He squeezed your thigh again and said brusquely, âIâm going to the bathroom.â Standing up, you could see he was hard as a rock, trying and failing to conceal the boner that was stretching his pants. After washing up both of your plates, you followed him. He was in one of the bathrooms and you knocked softly and entered.
Zoro had already started palming his hard cock through his pants, eyes closed, grinding his hand over himself. When you walked in the bathroom, you whispered a âYou doing okay?â before you realized that he was touching himself, but you didnât have time to finish your question before he locked the door, grabbed your hips, and pulled you close to him, smashing your body against his, pressing you so hard against him and his pelvis that your tits hurt.
âI need you,â he whispered desperately in your ear.
His lips greedily found yours, his warm breath seeping into your mouth. He bit and pulled your lipâthat was surprising. Zoro was full of surprises recently... You quickly noticed that he was grinding his erection against you, dry humping you, already letting out quiet grunts and moans into your mouth. He was so desperate.
You clasped your arms around his neck while his hands traveled upwards. As you continued to furiously make out and grind on his hard cock, Zoro felt around for your breasts and wasted no time, grasping them, softly massaging and then pinching your nipples ever so slightly. You pulled away from him to peel off your tank-top and he was struck by the sight of your bare breasts. Latching onto one of them with his mouth, his other hand trailed down to grip your ass roughly. You let out a soft moan.
Zoroâs mouth released your nipple and trailed upwards again, sucking on your collarbone, then your neck, your earlobe, your chin, everywhere he could. Both hands now gripped your ass so strongly you wondered whether or not he would leave bruises. He pulled your pants down and left a resounding smack on your ass, kneading it callously, holding onto it for dear life. Zoro was an ass man, after all.
Your hands trailed down too and rested on his raging boner, rubbing it with your palms, gripping it with your fingers. It was huge, youâd never seen anything like this before. Separating yourself from him, you kneeled down and yanked on his pants, making them pool at his feet. You did the same with his boxer briefs and his cock sprung out.
Zoro sucked in air through his teeth and muttered a deep âfuckâ as he watched you kneel in front of him. He was buzzing, feral, using all his willpower to hold back from just bending you over the sink and fucking you silly. But patience is a virtue, and Zoro really, really had been dreaming about your pretty lips wrapped around his cock.
Looking up at him, you timidly started to cradle and caress Zoroâs balls and lick up his shaft, feeling him shudder under your delicate but firm touch. When you had licked up his length, your tongue circled the head of his cock, angry, red, throbbing, practically begging for you to take it.
You fully took Zoroâs cock into your mouth and sucked it tenderly, slowly opening your jaw more and more, feeling him thrust lustfully down your throat. He couldnât take the teasing anymore. His fingers ran through and pulled on your hair, gripping your head and forcing his cock even deeper down your throat. You let out a stifled groan and gagged on himâhis dick was huge, you hardly managed to keep your teeth from scraping his length, and your jaw was trying to cope with his girth as much as you could. You could taste Zoroâs salty precum seeping onto your tongue, and you moaned onto his cock, causing him to buck his hips and moan your name. You choked on his dick once again and he moaned your name louder.
Nothing made you quite as wet as Zoro moaning, groaning, sobbing out your name. It set something on fire in you, made you want to jump his bones and fuck him senseless on the spot. Your heart skipped a beat and the blood rushed to your face whenever you heard his deep voice whine out your nameâthat was your fuel, and you proceeded to literally suck the soul out of his dick. Heâd never received head like this before.
âNghhhhhâfuckkkk,â he moaned deliriously and his thighs started to shake. You sucked his length up and down, using both hands to stroke and coddle him, milking out every ounce of precum he had, making nasty slurping noises, peering up at him and making eye contact while you played with his cock. You could tell that was so close to cumming already, so you abruptly stopped and pulled him out of your mouth, leaving a string of drool connecting your lips to his tip, looking up at him. It couldnât hurt to edge him a little bit. And you liked seeing him get worked up.
When you pulled his cock out of your mouth Zoro gasped, staring down at you, and as you stood up, he grabbed you by your hips, cupping under your ass, and lifted you up without any effort. You let out a yelp and wrapped your legs around him. His hard-on was already rubbing on your cunt through the thin layer of your thong. His hands rested under you, and he rutted his hips back and forth, causing his tip to rub on your clit repeatedly. You moaned for himânow it was you who was being teased. âZoro, fuck,â you whined, âI want you inside me. I need you, please fuck meâplease.â
Zoro shifted ever so slightly and rubbed his cock just right, pushing your thong aside and exposing you glistening pussy. Your lips were inflamed, red, and dripping wet. He passed his tip through your folds and slowly, slowly started pushing his cock into you. Your walls convulsed as he entered, excruciatingly slow, painfully big, pushing you open and filling you up.
Slowly, you sunk down onto his cock and he let out a deep groan, again uttering your name like it was a holy word. âMmmmmmhhhhh, fuck,â he panted. Zoro leisurely started moving you up and down on his cock. He was trying to have some self-control, measuring his pace based on the neediness of your moans.
âZoro, I need you harder, please, fuck me harder,â you begged into his ear, pressing your lips on his neck and then biting his shoulder. You were getting inpatient.
Zoro gradually picked up the pace, increasing his speed so you were bouncing on his cockâor rather, he was bouncing you on his cock, using his muscles so effortlessly to bring your ass up, his dick almost exiting you, then he would push you down and fill you up again, leaving you sputtering and gasping. His cock felt so, so good. It was grinding up on your g-spot, you were immeasurably wet, feeling so fucked out that you were getting to the point of begging and babbling away. He could have done anything to you at that moment, and you would have liked it and begged for more.
âYour pussy⌠feels soâso fucking good...fuck, baby, mmmmmhhhhnnnââ Zoroâs deep voice was right in your ear, he thrusted with every breath, and his moans sent zaps straight to your core.
âZ-Zoro, please fuck me, I need you, I need your cock, uggnnnhhhhh it feels so good, fuck me, please fuck me, fuck me harder,â You were whining and pleading as quietly as you could. He fucked you harder, rougher, more frantically, and your wetness seeped out of your pussy and down his cock. You were so wet that it was dripping down his balls and onto the floor below.
The noises of him bouncing you on his dick were echoing in the bathroomâthey were nasty sounds of squelching, slapping, slopping, sucking, pure pleasure. You paid no heed to the thought that someone from the crew could be hearing you, you didnât give a fuck at that point. All you thought was Zoro. Zoro. Zoro. Zoro. You chanted his name again and again and again. Each time you chanted his name Zoro fucked you faster and harder.
He kept grinding his cock up into you, getting off at your pretty face twisted up in an expression of bliss, getting off of the feeling of your tight pussy walls succumbing to his huge cock. He was fucking you in a frenzy. He was starting to shake, and he knew that he was about to cum, but he wanted you to cream on his cock so, so badly, so he held on for dear life. You were both lost in pleasure.
âCum for me,â he grunted out in your ear. âI want you to cumâfor meâunnnghhâcream on my cock baby,â he demanded. He sounded desperate. You were one step ahead of him, rapidly approaching your climax. His cock was filling you up just right, his muscles were rippling, sweat dripping, his brow was furrowed, and his mossy green hair was ruffled. The air smelled like sweat and sex. He looked so fucking hot right now, and the only thing on his mind was you, you, you, you.
âZoro, Zoro, I-Iâm going to cum,â you cried out, scraping your fingernails into his back as you finally reached your limit. Your pussy spasmed around his cock, and you let out the sweetest moan that Zoro had ever heard. His stomach flipped and his butterflies went crazy. He had held on until then and couldnât take it anymore. Almost simultaneously, Zoro exploded inside of you, his thighs and arms shaking, shooting off ropes of hot white, filling you up. You could feel itâa deep, satisfying feeling, even better knowing that he was in some way marking you as his.
âFuck,â you both groaned out at the same time, Zoroâs cum leaking out of you. Still holding you up, he collapsed his back into the wall, panting for breath. He leaned in for a slow, long, soft kiss, his cock still buried inside of you as your pussy constricted on him again, squeezing his cock. He rocked and bucked in you, slightly overstimulating himself deliberately, before he slowly pulled his cock out of you with a long, sloppy, wet noise. He set you down on your feet, and your knees almost buckled. Surprisingly, he pulled you into another embrace, holding you close to him, and he kissed the top of your head. âWas I too rough on you?â He asked, petting your hair.
You shook your head and looked into his eyes earnestly. âNo, I loved it. Can you be even rougher next time?â You asked. Zoro couldnât believe his ears. Thereâs no way you were asking for more than that, but he was so, so glad that you wanted it. He wanted to have his way with you utterly and completely, he wanted to make love with you and then fuck you senseless every single minute of the day. He wanted to know every corner and crevice of your body, to learn what made you feel good, to have control over your pleasure and see you squirm for him. He kissed you again. âIâll do anything you want, sweetheart,â he said, making your heart flutter with his uncharacteristic sweetness.
You both pulled on your clothes and cleaned yourself up. There was a small puddle of your slick on the bathroom floor. You thought it was a little gross, but Zoro would have bent down and licked it up, had you not been there. That was next on his list, though, he told himself. He wanted to eat you out, have you cum on his tongue, watch you writhe under him and feel you tug at his hair. He was already getting excited at the thought.

"I'm going away tomorrow and I won't be back until Monday morning, so I squeezed in my Saturday session now; Carol is coaching with the younger group today later", you explained the fact that you were at the pool without your coach.
At first, swimming was an after school activity since your parents worked long hours and they needed you to be occupied and somewhere with someone looking after you, but as you grew older, your passion for the activity became more serious. Combined with your natural skill and hard work - and, truth be told, a dust of luck from deep pocket sponsors - you were able to become a full time swimmer. Tokyo 2020 Olympics was the proudest moment of your career as you stepped on the podium next to two of the people you looked up to the most, wondering if you were ever going to stand in the top step and hear your national anthem play. Baby steps - Carol told you immediately - this is already a huge achievement, Y/N!
"Do you want to stretch together?", Ella wondered, throwing a foam roller for you to catch once you nodded and getting one for herself.
"Where are you off to this weekend?", she asked curiously. You were playing a risky game, you knew that much, going away only on weekends and travelling to countries where, coincidentally, the Formula One Grand Prix was being held.
Luckily for you, no one seemed to make the connection as the last two years you managed to keep your relationship a secret. You first met Max in a sponsor party at the beggining of your professional career when you needed to up your earnings as the costs of travelling to competitions was getting higher and heavier on your savings. It fell through, but other sponsors came your way and you and Max started hanging out after it. The Dutch driver was funny and charming and after winning your first Olympic medal, you felt unstoppable and confessed your feelings for him. When he admitted he felt the same for you, you went from there on. At first, the decision to keep it secret was both strategic, as Max didn't want you to miss out on any sponsorships or teams backing you because you were in a relationship with him, and personal as he didn't want the world's prying eyes on your relationship.
Two years later, you felt like there had never been a right time to do it so things stayed the way they were, and most of the time, you didn't mind it.
"Austria", you kept the city to yourself as you worked on your hips as they were still tight from yesterday.
"Didn't you go there last year?", she quirked an eyebrow.
"Last year, I had more of a city break weekend, this time around I'm going for a nature approach, you know? No phones, no Internet, digital detox and all of that", you offered, doubling up the excuse so she wouldn't expect to see and Instagram stories or posts from your weekend away.
"Sounds nice! It can really get in your head when you're too long on them - I have a timer on my phone because otherwise I won't even notice the amount of time I spend on social media", she smiled before silently asking if she could take the foam rollers back to their box.
Getting yourself on the water and used to the temperature, you started with your usual warm up routine before following the plan you stuck to the platform.
On some days, the session felt quick, before you knew, the other athletes were already stretching and getting prepped for their own session. Today, it seemed like it would never end, as you looked at the clock and only fifteen minutes had gone by since the last time you checked it. At least your times were improving, you thought, drinking some water before going back to practice your butterfly stroke as dictated by the workout sheet.
It was already evening time when you sat down on your bedroom floor, packing everything you had laid out to take on your trip with you when your phone rang.
"Hey, liefje", Max said as his face showed up on your screen, "how was your day?".
"Good. Had training in the morning, then a physio session because my hips kept hurting, and I found some time to buy a replacement for my moisturiser before I came home to have dinner and pack", you showed him the suitcase, "and you? The car seems good, a nice gap to the others as well", you mused.
"The same old Friday, really. Woke up, came to the track, a little debrief with Alice and then we headed to the track. Only tomorrow will tell, but I'm confident on the pole", he smiled, "can't wait to have you here with me and see your gorgeous face up close".
"You can see it now", you ridiculed as you rested your chin on your phone and looked into the camera so Max could have an interesting angle of your features, "beautiful, am I right?", you joked.
"The most beautiful", he complimented, "are you nearly done packing?", he wondered.
"Yes, just my charger and a few other last minute things left - I'll put them in my backpack tomorrow morning", you reasoned.
"You better get to sleep, your flight is early", your boyfriend encouraged, "I really need it - a proper shower first and then I'll go to bed", you assured, "I love you, Max, see you tomorrow", you blew him a kiss.
"I love you too, gorgeous! Text me updates from your flight, okay?", he smiled, smooching his lips for you to see before you ended the videocall.
The shower helped you unwind for the night, a little list on your kitchen counter to remember you of the last minute things as you turned off the lights and got back to your bedroom, your bed waiting for you so you could sleep a decent amount of hours.
Sitting on the waiting area of the airport, you placed your backpack on your legs and rested your elbows there, grabbing your phone to scroll through social media.
Ella was right, people did spend too much time on these. Everyone around you seemed to be on their phone or tablet devices.
A photo of your boyfriend showed up in your explore page, a fan page showing his walking back to the garage after FP1 and Alice was trailing right beside him.
Scrolling through the carrousel of pictures, you found a small video of them laughing together about something. The comments under it were the same as usual.
No one can convince me they're not together!đ (to be read as I know I'm delulu)
If they're not, I'll volunteer to show them how good they would be for eachother! đŤŁ
Such a power couple đŽâđ¨đĽľ
When they finally knock some sense into eachother's head and realise they're meant to be together, I'm claiming them as my parents! đĽš
No matter how many times you saw it, it never got easier. For all everyone knew, Max was single, so they weren't acting as a disregard of you. They didn't knew a regard of you to begin with. So they took interest in his love life and hoped he was in a relationship with some of the women he interacted with. Max usually didn't let many of them start to begin with, but Alice worked for the team, he could only get so far away and be distanced from her.
Max wouldn't cheat on you, you knew that. But the comments made you wonder. Would he be better off with someone else? Someone who could follow him anywhere?
The thoughts often plagued your mind, and they hadn't yet turned to the your other insecurities, so you had to be thankful for that.
Boarding on the plane, you played some music on your earbuds as you fished out your kindle to continue reading the book you started at the beggining of the week.
The buzz was installed on track as you found your spot in the stands just in time to see the marshalls tidying up whatever was left on the concrete so qualifying could start without a hitch.
This was usually how you did it. On Saturday, you would watch qualifying from the stands, waiting a little in the fan zone before Max whisked you into the hospitality with Gianpiero's help. On Sunday, you either stayed on the stands and repeated the same procedure or you arrived early to the track and stayed in his driver's room so to not lift any suspicions. You had been invited to watch a few races with the Paddock Club pass with some of the other Olympic athletes, but it hadn't happened in a while.
To anyone, you were a regular fan. You had your RedBull cap on and sunglasses, and you had never been recognised in one of the races, so you felt calm. The tricky bit of keeping your relationship hidden from the public eye was going to be later, for now, you could just wait and appreciate the fast laps.
"I'm sorry, you're Y/N Y/L/N, right?", a girl in a Ferrari cap called your name. Crap.
"Hi, I am", you smiled, "I'm sorry to ambush you like this - I am a big fan and you're a big inspiration to me. I also swim", she reasoned as she fumbled with her phone, "do you mind if my father takes a picture of us?", she politely asked.
"That's okay, yes", you smiled, taking off your sunglasses briefly as the older man snapped a picture before he shook your hand, "she won't shut up about your achievements! Did you tell Ms. Y/L/N that you're going to be in the qualifiers for Paris?".
"It's Y/N, please", you requested, "That's fantastic, congratulations! I hope it all works out for you and I'll see you around there!", you hugged her quickly before she thanked you and found their seats.
She seemed nice enough and it wasn't like you were a public figure, at least to the general public anyway really, so between all of the people who could've spotted you, she was fine.
"C'mon Max!", you yelled as he and Charles seemed to be separated by a few tenths of a second, cheering loudly when the times were set and your boyfriend got the pole position.
The timing was perfect as Max took a little longer than expected on his interviews, fans scattering to the fanzone and track experiences while you spotted Max's engineer, walking with him when no one seemed to be paying attention to it.
"I'll tell Max you're already here", he smiled before he closed the door of the driver's room.
It always felt a little odd. Like you were doing something forbidden and illegal by being there.
"Yes, we'll meet in a bit", Max told whoever was in the corridor after he opened the door, closing it back when you jumped on him, legs wrapping around his waist, "hey, pole sitter", you smirked, nuzzling your face on his neck and kissing the soft skin.
"Hello, liefje", he mumbled against your skin before you pulled away, "kiss?", you asked for his lips to settle on yours for a bit, filling up on eachother's presence.
"No one saw you come here?", he asked. You shook your head, "everybody was paying attention to other things, the only people I encountered already know so we're safe", you stated.
Max noticed the change of tone, but you wouldn't have time to properly discuss it so he let it slide for now, telling you instead about the session and how the car felt, as well as the dinner plans her had for you since the room service menu was "so varied we could make our own little buffet".
You stayed in the room while he had the debrief, leaving together when you made sure no one would see you two.
"Room service called back, they said they'll bring the food in ten minutes", Max said as you got out of the bathroom, dressed in pyjamas and fresh out of the shower, "That's good, I'm starving", you smiled as you sat down.
Max always received the food at the door to ensure no prying eyes would see something he didn't want, along with other precautions like packing up all your things in case someone from housekeeping enjoyed the gossip and took the rumours somewhere else.
"I know something is bothering you", Max began you had taken a piece of chicken to your much, "I noticed it when we were in my room, and even now there's something", he nudged your arm.
Chewing and swallowing afterwards, you moved the broccoli around your plate, gathering your thoughts before speaking up, "do you know people ship you and Alice?", you spoke up.
"Don't change the subject, darl - is that it?", Max tried to understand.
"People seem to think you'd make a great couple, like, they have your whole relationship panned out. Everyone thinks she's very pretty - and I agree with them -, and that you two have chemistry and that it would be nice for you to be with her - looks exchanged and all sorts of ideas", you mumbled.
"Liefje, I'd never do that to you, I don't interact with her that way", Max replied instantly.
"I know you don't, but it hurts to see", you admitted, "comments people make about my boyfriend and how he really should start dating someone - and they know who that person is, so really it's just a matter of putting two and two together!", you let a tear fall down your cheek.
"Y/N, I didn't know it was bothering you so much and bringing you such sadness", Max cupped your cheek, thumb wiping the tears that followed suit and looking into your eyes.
"I can ask the team to issue or statement - or we can go public. I don't care what we do as long as you feel better about it", he comforted.
"Do you want to go public?", you asked, afraid of the answer.
"Y/N, my love, being secret was just to protect you, for your good. If going public is the solution for this, I'm the first one to walk into the paddock tomorrow with you, holding hands and everything", he moved his hands to cradle your own.
"You mean that? It's just, I don't want people to assume you're single and throw themselves at you - or throw someone at you! I know Alice won't do it, but other people might and I'm tired of having to lie to people about where I'm going and saying no to dates they try to set up and why I gave a RedBull rain jacket on my car", you chuckled at the last one, remembering your coach's reaction when she saw it, "Since when do you follow F1?", Carol questioned.
"We'll do it tomorrow if you want, or whenever you feel ready, Y/N. I'll be by your side, always", he smiled kissing your lips lovingly.
"I don't have any paddock wag outfits with me", you giggled, "have to make a good impression".
"Please, you could go in these pyjamas and you'd still be the prettiest woman there", he pulled you to sit on his lap as you finished your dinner.
The next morning, people couldn't believe their eyes as Max walked hand in hand with a young woman, the pair of them talking about something between them as they giggled.
A few were unsure of it was really you while others asked their colleagues to please repeat your name, googling you quickly and finding out your achievements.
Soon enough, pictures flowed social media with the paddock's new power couple, gossip Instagram pages having a field day and it wasn't even lunch time.
"This is news", Daniel said as he spotted Max. He had been one of the few people outside of the team who knew about you two, you having made him swear that he would never tell anyone, and if by chance he did let something slip, you trusted him to make a joke out of it and for people to assume he was just teasing Max indeed.
"You won't have to keep it to yourself anymore, Danny", you said as you hugged his side quickly.
"That's good, actually, I think that's what has been keeping me from being focused in racing, it's a real relief, Y/N", he stated and for two seconds, you felt bad for putting such pressure on him, "I'm just kidding! C'mon, you know what I'm like", he gave you a big smile, "now, I have to go, will pop by to see you though!", Daniel said as he waved while he carried on to his team's garage.
Your interactions with Daniel and the team spurred curiosity as the media started thinking and hypothesizing that maybe your relationship was as new as they thought it was. As it turns out, once again, Max Verstappen knew how to keep private aspects away from the media.
For now, they would try to dig more and find out how the Olympic medalist swimmer stole the heart of the Formula One driver.

EDIT: This post was made about the first wave of basic barebone copy-and-paste scams. It is now outdated when it comes to identifying REAL, VETTED gofundmes that exist
If someone sends you an ask asking for help in Gaza, look for vetting done by a real person (do NOT trust ones that simply claim they are vetted if you donât SEE the vetting), and check that their gofundme address isnât clearly publicly listed in some other place. Then reblog their post. And block writing-prompt-s or anyone else that runs actual genocide survivors off the platform with poorly researched scam accusations
original post:
so apparently the tumblr donation scam farms are moving in on Palestine; this includes both slapping basic phrases like "Free Palestine" into their blog headers, but also some of them go so far as to claim they are Palestinian refugees who need donations.
Here is your routine reminder that whenever you receive an ask in your inbox requesting donations, check their ass. 19 times out of 20 it'll be a brand new blog who reblogged a few posts to seem older than they are, is sending out spam asks to random blogs, and will be deleted in a few days once they've already scammed people.
Check their blog's age by trying to scroll to the bottom and checking the post timestamps. Turn on post timestamps by going to Settings > General Settings > Dashboard Preferences. On any device, you can also see when a post was made by clicking on the 3 dots at the top right of it. Scam blogs reblog an amount of posts to try to seem like they aren't brand new and pretend to have older accounts, and itâs very successful against people who donât scroll down enough.
Check the location and area code of a PayPal link where/if it says something like country.x=xx. The xx will be a country code. Most tumblr donation scams are for some reason in the Philippines and will have the code PH. No I am not saying to distrust anyone in the Philippines who needs donations, but if a brand new blog is claiming to be a refugee in the Middle East but their PayPal link is from halfway across the world, then well...
Reverse-image search any of the images they use and find if it was stolen somewhere. Remember that these images are often edited to prevent people from easily doing this, and this is not reliable but can be an easy sign if successful
Be careful with blogs that request people send donations through "Friends and Family" on PayPal because you cannot refund money sent in this manner. This isnât a dealbreaker as many regular users also request this to avoid fines, but is an addendum to scam blogs when enough other red flags are raised. It isnât unusual for them to insist on receiving money through FaF to the point that some will refund money not sent through that manner to prevent accountability
Follow scam busting blogs like Kyra45 that might pull up evidence you otherwise would not have access to. I guess I'm going to start bringing back my habit of recording the exact paypal addresses that scam blogs use which has sometimes been the only evidence of a new donation blog being a scam, and no one would know this if I hadn't been tracking them
It is disgusting that people would take advantage of an ongoing genocide for their own gain. Please remember to keep an eye out for yourself and the people you follow reblogging suspicious donation posts trying to steal aid from people undergoing a tragedy

Hello!
Sooo happy I found your blog! Iâve been absolutely loving your Hank McCoy stuff (and honestly allll of your writings)
I was wondering if you might have time to write something angsty- confessing love kind of thing for the reader and Nightcrawler? Iâve always been a fan of his. He always seems to me that heâd be touch starved, despite being so charming.
FORGIVE ME FOR TAKING FOREVER ON THIS đđđđđđ
âFlufftoberâ series. 3 đ Kurt X GN Reader âFluffâ Word Count: 1.2k
You stared at your ceiling. You couldnât sleep, again. Try as you might, your brain wouldnât let you get a wink tonight for some reason.Â
You roll over to your side with a huff, looking at your bedside clock. It was two in the morning.
You smash your head against your pillow with an exasperated groan. Youâd been like this for the past few weeks, on and off thankfully- but it was still annoying.Â
Youâd been under so much stress lately. Not just as an X-man, but a certain member of your team was driving you crazy.Â
It was Kurt, obviously.Â
The blue devil couldnât stay out of your mind, no matter how hard you tried to shoo him awayâŚso you could at least get some shut-eye. Â
It was just so hard. He was so kind, nurturing, honest, passionate, and a goof- oh, youâre getting carried away when you should be sleepingâŚonce again.Â
You shouldnât keep lying to yourself like this, giving yourself false hope. He was friendly to everyone, that was just Kurt. And you were no exception, just another X-MenâŚjust another friend.
You sit up, rubbing your eyes with a yawn. Fresh air and a good olâ walk by the tree line should do you some good.Â
You quietly tip-toe down the stairs, careful not to wake anyone at this hour. However, it was unlikely for people with keen senses like Logan. But still, you tried.Â
After throwing on a pair of shoes and a jacket, you slipped outside through the back door.Â
You made your way down the grassy hills, leaves crunching underneath your feet as you made your way toward the forest. It was dark, with nothing but the stars and moonlight accompanying you tonight.Â
A brisk autumn breeze rushes past you, dancing through the treeâs amber leaves. It was so calming, just watching nature move.Â
You took a deep breath, the sweet smell of fall surrounding you. Just what you needed.
âIs everything okay Mein Freund?â A startling puff of air sounded behind you.Â
You jump, yelping while grabbing your chest with a hand. âKurt!â You whisper-tell, coughing from the smoke trails he left behind from his âbamphingâ.Â
âIâm sorry to startle you,â He said bashfully, flashing you his pointed canines in a toothy grin. âI noticed you sneak out alone- late in the night and I got worried!â He nervously chuckled, scratching at his neck.
You sighed, shaking your head with a soft smile on your face. âOh Kurt, always worrying about othersâŚâÂ
âI just wanted someâŚair is all.â You add with a shrug, huffing out a laugh.Â
âAh, I seeâŚâ He nods his head before looking up. âWell, it is a beautiful night out.â You hum with him in agreement.Â
âWould you like to join me?â You ask reluctantly. His yellow eyes shifted back to you, a gentle smile still lingering in his expression. âOf course.âÂ
With that, you take his hand and pull him down to lie in the grass with you. You both land on leaves and soft grass, looking up at the stars littering the night sky.
While his gaze was directed upwards, his mind was freaking out over the fact you were touching his hand.Â
Heâs never touched- held hands before. This was all so new to him. Was he freaking out right now? He was definitely freaking out. He was feeling too hot. No, it was too cold outside to feel that warm. There had to be something wrong with him. Was there something wrong with him? Oh God, heâs going to be sick.Â
âKurt?â Your voice pulled Kurt out of his daze.Â
âY-Yes?â He shook his head, clearing his thoughts. âNothing, just thought Iâd lost you there.â You chuckle, watching Kurtâs eyes dart between you and your hand.Â
You follow his line of sight before realizing your hand was still wrapped around his. âOh! Sorry about that, forgot I was still doing thatâŚâ You release his hand, a little too quickly for Kurtâs liking.
His eyes furrowed in a frown. Did you not like holding his hand? It was a reaction he was used to, people not wanting to be around him because of his appearance. He was a mutant after all, and a very blue one at that.Â
âItâs fineâŚdid that make youâŚuncomfortable?â He asked you softly, voice barely above a whisper.Â
You were taken aback. Had you hurt his feelings? This was all so confusingâŚ
âNo, I just..thought you didnât want to hold mineâŚâ You say, your gaze fixed on the stars, not having enough strength to look at Kurt.Â
âItâs quite alright, I do not mind!â He smiles at you, taking a hold of your hand. âW-well as long as youâre comfortable with it.â You say as nonchalantly as possible. There was nothing nonchalant about this situation right now, you were making physical contact with the man youâve been pining for the past few years! You were freaking out.
âI actuallyâŚreally like you if Iâm being honest.â He randomly blurts out, his statement effectively getting you to shoot up and look at him with wide eyes.Â
âOh, you donâtâŚfeel the same, do you?â He states, rather than trying to find confirmation. He looks down at his hand still holding yours, disappointment written all across his features.Â
Before you can explain yourself, heâs gone in a puff of blue-purple tendrils. You cough, waving your hand to clear the smoke from his vanishing act. Nice, real smooth. You scared him off.Â
You get up, running to the mansion with nothing to loseâŚWell, other than sleep since it was late. But you had to find Kurt before he got the wrong idea.Â
You spot him in a tree, sitting on a thick branch with his tail leisurely hanging off the side. Was he really just gonna sit there like you couldnât see him?Â
âKurt!â You whisper-yelled, standing at the trunk of the tree.Â
âAgh, I think Iâve embarrassed myself enough for one night! Let me wallow in self-pity aloneâŚpleaseâŚâ He trailed off with a groan, leaning his head back to hit it against the tree. âAlright Iâm coming up there-âÂ
âWAIT!â You stop your advances up the tree, raising a brow questionably at him. âI-Iâll just come to youâŚâ He mumbles.Â
In a flurry of bamphs, he lands in front of you, his head hanging in humiliation. You let out a sigh before pulling him into an embrace. âWhatâs all this for?â He nervously chuckles, his arms moving stiffly to pat your back.Â
First the hand holding, now hugs. Kurt feared he might explode from all the warmth and affection from you.Â
âI like you Kurt.â You murmur, just loud enough for him to hear.Â
When youâre met with no response, you open an eye to peek at his reaction, just to find a purple flush blooming on his blue complexion. And when you advert your gaze downwards, you notice his forked tail swaying. That was adorableâŚ
âThis might be the best day of my life.â

youâre attacking that neopagan kind of birthstone post about druid plants, but could you please elaborate or at least clarify the explicit trope that is being used that has been historically weaponized?
I used to spend about a good third of my time on this godforsaken website attacking that idea, but sure, I'll do it again. This will be a bit of an effortpost, so I'll stick it under the readmore
There is a notion of 'celts' or Gaels as being magicial and somehow deeply in touch with nature and connected to pre-Christian worldviews that the people who decided to make up the "Celtic tree astrology" used. This is also why Buffy used Irish Gaelic as the language of the demons, why Warhammer uses Gaelic as Elvish, why garbled Scottish Gaelic is used by Wiccans as the basis for their new religious construct, why people call themselves Druids to go an say chants in bad Welsh in Stonehenge, or Tursachan Chalanais, or wherever, etc etc. This stuff is everywhere in popular culture today, by far the dominant view of Celtic language speaking peoples. Made up neopagan nonsense is the only thing you find if you go looking for Gaelic folklore, unless you know where to look, and so on and so on. I could multiply examples Endless, and in fact have throughout the lifespan of this blog, and probably will continue to.
To make a long history extremely brief (you can ask me for sources on specifics, or ask me to expand if you're interested), this is directly rooted in a mediaeval legalistic discussion in Catholic justifications for the expansionist policies of the Normans, especially in Ireland, who against the vigourous protestation of the Church in Ireland claimed that the Gaelic Irish were practically Pagan in practice and that conquest against fellow Christians was justified to bring them in like with the Church. That this was nonsense I hope I don't need to state. Similar discourses about the Gaels in Scotland exist at the same time, as is clear from the earliest sources we have postdating the Gaelic kingdom of Alba becoming Scotland discussing the 'coastal Scots' - who speak Ynglis (early Scots) and are civilised - and the 'forest Scots' (who speak 'Scottis' (Middle Gaelic) and have all the hallmarks of barbarity. This discourse of Gaelic savagery remains in place fairly unchanged as the Scottish and then British crowns try various methods for integrating Gaeldom under the developing early state, provoking constant conflict and unrest, support certain clans and chiefs against others and generally massively upset and destabilise life among the Gaels both in Scotland and Ireland. This campaign, which is material in root but has a superstructure of Gaelic savagery and threat justifying it develops through attempts at assimilation, more or less failed colonial schemes in Leòdhas and Ăle, the splitting of the Gaelic Irish from the Gaelic Scots through legal means and the genocide of the Irish Gaels in Ulster, eventually culminates in the total ban on Gaelic culture, ethnic cleansing and permanent military occupation of large swathes of Northern Scotland, and the destruction of the clan system and therefore of Gaelic independence from the Scottish and British state, following the last rising in 1745-6.
What's relevant here is that the attitude of Gaelic barbarity, standing lower on the civilisational ladder than the Anglo Saxons of the Lowlands and of England, was continuously present as a justification for all these things. This package included associations with the natural world, with paganisms, with emotion, and etc. This set of things then become picked up on by the developing antiquarian movement and early national romantics of the 18th century, when the Gaels stop being a serious military threat to the comfortable lives of the Anglo nobility and developing bourgeoise who ran the state following the ethnic cleansing after Culloden and permanent occupation of the Highlands (again, ongoing to this day). They could then, as happened with other colonised peoples, be picked up on and romanticised instead, made into a noble savage, these perceived traits which before had made them undesirable now making them a sad but romantic relic of an inexorably disappearing past. It is no surprise that Sir Walter Scott (a curse upon him and all his kin) could make Gaels the romantic leads of his pseudohistorical epics at the exact same time that Gaels were being driven from their traditional lands in their millions and lost all traditional land rights. These moves are related. This tradition is what's picked up on by Gardner when he decides to use mangled versions of Gaelic Catholic practice (primarily) as collected by the Gaelic folklorist Alasdair MacIlleMhĂŹcheil as the coating for Wicca, the most influential neo-pagan "religion" to claim a 'Celtic' root and the base of a lot of oncoming nonsense like that Celtic Tree Astrology horseshit that started this whole thing, and give it a pagan coat of paint while also adding some half-understood Dharmic concepts (three-fold law anyone?) and a spice of deeply racist Western Esotericism to the mix. That's why shit like that is directly harmful, not just historically but in the present total blotting out of actually existing culture of Celtic language speakers and their extremely precarious communities today.
If you want to read more, I especially recommend Dr. Silke Stroh's work Gaelic Scotland in the Colonial Imaginary, Dr. Aonghas MacCoinnich's book Plantation and Civility in the North-Atlantic World, the edited collection Mio-rĂşn MĂłr nan Gall on Lowland-Highland divide, the Gaelic writer known in English as Ian Crichton Smith's essay A real people in a real place on these impacts on Gaelic speaking communities in the 20th century, Dr. Donnchadh Sneddons essay on Gaelic racial ideas present in Howard and Lovecrafts writings, and Dr. James Hunter's The Making of the Crofting Community for a focus on the clearings of Gaels after the land thefts of the late 18th and early 19th century.

what I've done
The town of Veronaville is one built on little love and one big feud. For years, the Capp and Monty clans have been at each otherâs throats; yet this hatred cannot stop the younger generation from crossing borders and falling for one another. Will their actions bring both feuding families to ruin, or spark reconciliation? Can their love truly heal such deep wounds?
Wouldn't you like see Veronaville in entirely different light? K-he.
WHATâS NEW:
Added a massive storyline! The familiar ĐĄapp, Monty and Summerdream families will be seen in a whole new lightđ
Added three brand new families with their own stories and secrets! đ
Added some new and special townies. At the end of the town album there will be a list of townspeople who have biographies and memories, so no need to add/resurrect literally everybody on your lot. đ
Added 20 new community lots + remade the old ones as well đ
DISCLAMER AND TRIGGER WARNINGS!!!
This hood is not a retelling of Shakespeare's plays, nor is it a mere makeover of the Maxisâ Veronaville. Think of this neighborhood as an alternate universe.
The Neighborhood contains themes of: fantasy, s*icide and self-harm, body horror, OC X CANON (?)
I may have (unintentionally) spoiled some of your favorite simmiesâŚÂ
ISSUES THAT I AM AWARE OF:
Some towniesâ memories could disappear. It happens even with the mod that forbids the townies from losing their memories. I don't know what the reason is so I recommend checking them before you play the game, namely, by going into the family and teleporting the townies to the resident lot. If the memories are already gone, then please re-download the hood.
Hoodchecker might show some minor errors connected to the wrong memory subjects. This was intentional so don't be alarmed! It doesn't affect your game in any negative way.
Don't try to resurrect Julien Cooke. Just forget about him.
Oberon originally had an overlay with a mechanical prosthetic. But for some reason in some testersâ games the overlay was affecting Oberon's complexion, turning his skintone white⌠So I removed the overlay entirely. You can add it back if you wish!

THE CONTENTS:
VD01 ENG is a main hood; contains some of my CCs.
VVBS CC is an archive with some custom content from me for the hood (consists of: some cosmetics, contacts (in the masks section) and one female haircut).
VVBS SUBHOOD is a subhood with two major differences from the main hood: it does not contain pictures from Storytelling folder (so the nhood is less heavy) + you can pick and choose whether you want it with or without my custom content.
EXTRA CONTENT folder is not necessary to download; it contains some extra stuff from my project. This file is locked, but you can gather the password in main hood itself through the storytelling pictures and a little game in the community lots (you can find the rules of this game in the description of 2 Pentameter Parkway lot). Think of it as a reward for your attentiveness!
If you find any errors or bugs, just let me know! THANK YOU!
idk what to put in here so that dads' ranking
P.S. Destroy this town with your crazy ideas. :))
Well, the English version of this interactive fanfic is finally OUT!
I have Pahleen (translation) and @f1shart (English editing) to thank for that! And I also want to thank the many wonderful testers and people who supported my project!đšđš
I will continue to post materials about this neighborhood on this blog, but I also have plans to expand this universe, so for that I created a blog @vv-bs so you can follow the development of the project!

How About a Nuke?
Part VIII / Part IX
(Completed) Series Masterlist
Cooper Howard x fem!reader, The ghoul x fem!reader A/N: PLEASE READ, we have reached the end of their journey and I am so sad/happy/excited about it. I donât even know how to feel honestly. I just want to thank everyone who has commented, messaged or reblogged this story. Your kind words and funny little depressed memes have been really uplifting for me. I was actually considering just giving up on this blog when I posted the first chapter. I havenât had much inspiration lately or interaction I feel like, and you all have helped reignite that spark within me. Summary: Thereâs something keeping you tied to Cooper Howard, an invisible string wrapped around you both. Youâve fought against it as long as you could but heâs not gonna let you fight for much longer.
Itâs been a month and the bounty on her head gets bigger everyday. Normally the compound hires privately, they donât like going through the agencies. He figures with Sylvie dead theyâre struggling to find a new leader and theyâre falling apart. Or theyâre just desperate for her head on a stick.Â
He sees her face everywhere, crudely drawn images of her varying in their accuracy. In some she has a hat like his on, in others her nose is the wrong shape, or her eyes are all wrong. No one seems to have a good grasp on who she is. Out of curiosity and a strange need to know sheâs still alive, heâs asked around.Â
There are different rumors as to where sheâs hiding out. Some think sheâs taken to hiding out in the caves near Filly. Anyone with half a brain knows that the areaâs overrun by irradiated bears and other mutated freaks.Â
There are those that say theyâve seen her wandering through the sands. Following that lead had led him nowhere. He doesnât know where she is and itâs driving him insane. Sheâs like a constant itch in the back of his mind that he just canât scratch. Days and nights are spent thinking about her and he hates it.Â
Heâs not sure what heâd do when he does find her. Whether heâd shoot her to repay the favor or just tie her up to keep her from leaving again. Heâs conflicted on how he feels about her. Heâs bothered that he feels anything towards her at all. And he knows that when she shot him, she was shooting to kill.Â
She had no way of knowing that he would heal from that bullet. Sheâd watched him bleed out on the ground and left him for dead. He was impressed, as much as he wanted to be mad, he was almost proud in a way.Â
Throughout their tumultuous lives and times together sheâd always had to be guided by him. Heâd shown her the ways of whatever world they were living in. Sheâd relied on him and he enjoyed it. The time had to come when eventually she wouldnât need him anymore.Â
Itâs outside of Filly that he finds the most accurate poster of her so far. She looks like she did in their first movie together. A proper outlaw, wanted all across the Wastelands for her crimes against a bunch of sick fucks. If he could kill Sylvie again, he would. Heâd kill all of them.Â
Not that heâs condemning them because of what the compoundâs doing. Heâs dabbled in organ trade before, eaten people, heâs done a lot of fucked up shit. But he draws the line at trying to hurt her. Heâs the only one who should be allowed to fuck with her.
He takes the poster down and whistles softly at the price under her name. Itâs enough to keep him happy for a longtime. If he never wanted to take on another bounty he wouldnât have to. Course, he was never in this for the money. A manâs gotta have something to entertain himself with at the end of the world.Â
He wonders if sheâs even still alive. Maybe a Deathclaw got her a day after she left him behind. He could have walked past her corpse and never even known it. He folds the poster up and slips it in his bag. He doesnât know why he bothers keeping it. Possibly because itâs the closest thing to her that heâs got, but he doesnât feel like lingering on that thought for long.Â
He tugs his hat lower on his head and heads through the tunnel leading to Filly. Heâs caused a lot of issues here over the years. Usually he kills most of the people who could identify him as an instigator, but he doesnât feel like pushing his luck today. He needs more supplies and he knows Ma June wonât sell to him if he causes a fight beforehand.Â
Itâs louder than normal today, more people rushing around. Theyâre all congregating around something in the center of the marketplace. He turns to the left, heading up the stairs to try and get a better look at whatâs got everyone so excited.Â
âThey found her!â A boy shouts, fidgeting in his spot next to him. He glances at him from under his hat and the boy pales before scurrying away from him. His lips turn up in a cruel grin and he finally gets a good look at whatâs happening.Â
Sheâs kneeling in the middle of the marketplace, two Knights on either side of her. Heâs more surprised by the fact that she actually has picked up a hat in her time away from him.Â
She seems to be playing into the outlaw routine more than he thought she would.Â
Youâre embarrassed, honestly, that you let these two idiots capture you. Them and their useless little squires.Â
Youâve found odd jobs through the Brotherhood when they need assistance looking for relics of the old world. Though, youâre really not sure how much use a toaster oven can be to them, but they pay good money for it.Â
Once your bounty was posted and they figured out who you were, though, that stopped being useful. You canât even hunt bounties because the agencies would just grab you and turn you over to the compound.
They clearly didnât give a shit about women, you donât get why theyâre making this whole Sylvie situation such a big deal.Â
You had to bribe Ma June by buying some of her junk, but eventually sheâd helped you find some work in Filly. The people here are stupid enough that they donât recognize you when they see you. Most of them are high or drunk so the only thing you have to worry about is wandering hands and not stepping in the middle of their brawls.Â
From the patrons of the bar you hear stories about yourself. How you slaughtered the entire compound, even the children, which is so far from the truth you canât help but scoff. Or how you apparently slept with a ghoul and you're carrying his mutant baby.Â
You donât even know where they got that one from.Â
They also seem to think you wander through the sands, shooting anyone who gets in your way. Itâs a comfort that no one seems to have caught onto you yet. But itâs also disheartening to know that all thatâs left of civilization is a bunch of psychopathic idiots.Â
What happened to natural selection?
You know your stint in Filly is up when two Knights walk in, their squires struggling to carry their bags behind them. You pull your hat further over your head and duck behind the bar. You try to keep your back to them and let the old man, Marley, who runs the bar deal with them.Â
His shaky voice is cautious as he greets them, âWhat are Knights doing so far out here?â
One of their distorted voices rings out through the, now quiet, bar. âWe got bored. Wanted to shoot some shit.â
You roll your eyes and focus on cleaning the cup in front of you. You spit into it, not enough water to properly clean it, and scrub at it with a stained towel. Marley hums, clearly displeased with the answer. You can hear his tottering steps approaching you and wince, praying heâs not going to do what you think he is.Â
He tugs on your shirt with a shaky hand and you slump forward in defeat. âDeal with these jackasses,â he mutters, taking drinks over to a different table.Â
You pour the only alcohol the bar has into two cups and keep your head down as you approach. âHeard that a woman took over for Knight Damien.â
One of them scoffs and shakes his armored head, âWhat the fuck is this world coming to?â You donât know how theyâre planning on drinking their liquor with the helmets on but youâre not going to ask stupid questions. You drop the cups in front of them, but your hand slips and one of them tips over into a Knightâs lap.Â
âIâve got it, sire.â Their squire lunges forward and begins vigorously scrubbing their armor. Your face curls up in distaste and youâre about to walk away when a metal hand grips your wrist.Â
âHoly shit, itâs her!â Oh, youâre so screwed.Â
Theyâve got a fucking leash on you, itâs humiliating. The scarred and dirt-covered faces of the citizens of Filly surround you. Theyâre all leering, shouting at you and begging the Knightâs to share in the bounty. But the Knightâs arenât listening, theyâre just congratulating each other.Â
âWhat do you think theyâll give us?â
One of them shoves their squire and he goes toppling into his large bag, feet flailing in the air. âHopefully better fucking squires. Iâm getting sick of this oneâs stupid face.âÂ
The squire kneels down and shouts in a shaking voice, âIâm sorry if Iâve disappointed you, sire!â God, you really hate these people. You wished they would just shoot you. Having to sit here and listen to them talk was making your brain go numb.Â
The Knightâs distorted laugh rings out through his helmet. The other one glances over at you, âWhat do you think she did? Iâve never seen the compound this pissed off.â
âI dunno. Hey!â You know heâs talking to you, that they want an answer, you really donât care to give them one. âWhatâd you do?â They stare at you for a moment and then he sighs when you donât respond. He shoves his squire towards you and the kid goes stumbling over his feet. âMake her talk.â
He nods rapidly, head bobbing up and down. âOf course, sire.â Your hands twitch to your side and you give him a wicked grin as he approaches.Â
Heâs debating going down there and trying to help her when the first shot goes off. He doesnât even see it happen, he just watches as one of the squires drops to the ground.Â
Those who donât want to get caught in the crossfire are quick to move away from the area, hiding in their shops or shoving past him to get through the tunnel. He heads down the stairs, taking his time and trying to figure out where the shot came from.Â
The second squire moves towards her and his head flies back, a hole between his eyes and his brains splattering across the ground. One Knight shoves the other one and points at their dead squireâs, âDid you not take her fucking gun?â
Heâs been in those suits. He remembers how it felt, the power you get from being in them. How they make you feel like a big man. He also remembers how fucking slow they could be. Sheâs on her feet and running for cover before they can even start to grab her.Â
She dives behind a stall and tugs a knife out of her boot, sawing at the ropes around her wrists. He canât reach her before the fighting starts. Someone in the remaining crowd shouts, âGrab her! Get the bounty!â And all hell breaks loose.Â
Someone runs at him and he shoots them before they can grab him. Shots start going off, the Knightâs mowing down anyone who tries to swoop in on their bounty. Everyone else is shooting blindly, just trying to get rid of the competition so they can claim her bounty as their own.Â
He ducks under the hail fire and slides next to her as sheâs reloading her gun. She glances over at him and frowns, âDidnât I kill you?â
He hears a shout and watches as some half-feral woman charges at them. She shoots her dead and turns back to him. He gives her a wry smile, âYou want to do this now, sweetheart?â
She peers over her cover and surveys the chaos going on around them. She sighs and glances back at him, âWhy arenât you dead?âÂ
He tugs one of his specially made bullets out of his bag and loads it into his gun. He lifts himself to his knees and aims at the weak spot on the Knightâs chest plate. They both watch as blood explodes out of the neck of the power armor, the Knightâs friend cussing as he watches him die.Â
âNext time,â she turns to look at him, âaim for the head,â he instructs. She glares at him before making her way to Ma Juneâs shop. He follows, not willing to let her out of his sight again, and she ducks behind the barrels of supplies in front of the shop.Â
âClearly,â she winces as the Knightâs gun starts firing off again, âIâm not making it out of here on my own.â They dive to the side as bullets rip through the barrels theyâre leaning against. Theyâre not gonna have cover for much longer.
He grins at her, âSounds like youâre asking me for a favor, darling.â
The sounds of screams and bodies dropping is nearly deafening. A few feet away a bullet catches a man in the throat and he drops to the ground. They watch as he chokes on his blood and tries to claw his way to safety. Steps rapidly approach them and she turns to shoot a different man, his body dropping an inch away from them.Â
He turns back to her and his lips turn down, âAfter you tried to kill me? You want my help,â he laughs at her and she glares.Â
Before she can speak a voice rings out above them, âI got her!â He shoots at the woman on the upper level above them, half of her leg gets blown off and she tumbles over the railing, narrowly missing the pair.Â
He turns back to her, âYouâre asking a lot, darling.â
âYouâve fucking shot me, twice. Iâm not asking you for anything.â Her lips turn down in a sneer and she looks at him like the very sight of him disgusts her. âI don't need your help. I don't need you.â She glances back over her shoulder, surveying the gore and the bullets flying around them. She checks her gun and he sees just how little ammo she has left. âIâll handle this myself.â She snaps the chamber of her gun closed and moves to get up. He grabs her wrist and yanks her back down, ignoring the angry expression on her face.Â
âLook, you might not want my help, but you need it, sweetheart. Just stay here.âÂ
You watch as Cooper runs off, his guns firing before heâs even fully standing. You only wait a second before youâre running into Ma Juneâs and out her back door. She shouts at you as you barrel through her shop, knocking over her displays and shelves, but you canât waste any time getting the hell out of dodge.Â
Youâre surprised Cooper was stupid enough to think you would actually wait for him. The Knightâs had called for an air evac out of Filly and if you stay there any longer youâll be back in the compound before you can blink.Â
Youâve spent a month evading them, youâre not about to let yourself get caught because of Cooper.Â
You canât believe heâs not dead. Itâs not like youâve been losing sleep over killing him, but itâs been hard to cope with the fact that you killed the man that was once the love of your life. Seeing him again, though, you wished you had shot him in his smug face.Â
Youâd forgotten, in the time apart, just how condescending he could be. He seemed to think you needed him to survive. You didnât.Â
At best, he provided the comfort of company. Poorly.Â
Despite how much he undervalued you, you were perfectly capable of taking care of yourself. You didnât need him to save you. You would have figured your way out of there on your own, eventually. Youâve handled yourself a month in the Wastelands without him. You learned how to carve an existence for yourself out here and you did it without help.Â
You race into the woods beyond Filly, putting as much distance between you and the sounds of fighting as quickly as you can. The trees around you begin to shake, the ground vibrating and a swirl of dirt and leaves rises into the air and whips you in the face.Â
You look up and begin pushing yourself faster. One of the Brotherhoodâs Vertibirdâs is circling Filly. âThis is not a hostile landing! Please remain calm!â You blame your distraction on the announcement.Â
You would have heard him coming up behind you if you hadnât been listening to whatever the Brotherhood was saying. Rope loops around your arms and youâre yanked backwards. Your head thumps painfully hard against the forest floor, rocks scraping you as youâre dragged across the ground.Â
Cooperâs face appears over yours, a cruel smile on his lips. âNow, this seems awfully familiar.â He walks around you, boots straddling your waist and grabs you by the front of your shirt, yanking you back to your feet. âI thought I told you to stay put, sweetheart.â
You frown at him, shoving your leg up between his. He groans, doubling over while you shimmy out of the loose rope. âHonestly, after all the shit thatâs happened you think Iâm gonna listen to anything you say?â You step back from him, brushing the dirt off your clothes as best you can.Â
You sigh in frustration when you realize that when the Knightâs had grabbed you, youâd lost your supplies. Cooper looks up at you and scoffs, âMissing something?â You eye his bag on the ground and start to go for it. He pulls the hammer of his gun back and you glance towards him. Youâd forgotten what a quick draw he could be.
Heâs fully recovered now, eyes narrowed in on you and gun pointed right at your chest. âSee, a bullet to the chest might not kill me, but I reckon itâll do a hell of a lot of damage to you. Why donât you back up for me, sweetheart?â
You let go of his bag and slowly back away from him. He keeps his gun trained on you and stoops down, throwing his bag back over his shoulder. Your eyes dart to the hat on his head and your lips curl up when you spot the hole youâd put in it.Â
Two hundred years and heâs kept that hat nearly pristine, you take no small amount of pride in being the one to ruin it.Â
âThe Brotherhood will be swarming these woods in a few minutes. Theyâre not gonna be too happy about one of their Knightâs being dead. Come with me, I can help you out.â
You scoff, âLike Iâll ever trust you again. Youâve shot me, sold me, and left me for dead, Cooper.â
He huffs, eyes narrowing and lips curled in a sardonic grin. You can tell heâs getting pissed off. âThe choice is yours,â he tucks his gun back in his holster and turns on his heels. You watch in surprise as he stalks away from you. You had fully expected him to put up more of a fight, it almost hurts that he left so easily again.Â
Then you hear the sounds of orders being shouted behind you. Metal creaking and stomping through the underbrush and you realize he hadnât left but forced you between a rock and a hard place. You could follow him or let yourself get captured by the Brotherhood.Â
âFuck,â you mutter under your breath. You risk a glance over your shoulder and spot a rapidly approaching party of squires. You run in the direction Cooper went and find him leaning casually against a tree, a satisfied look on his face when he spots you. âDonât say a word,â you warn, shoving past him.Â
He glances at her from across the fire and finds himself feeling almost at ease for the first time in a month. Itâs been a while since heâs looked up to actually find her staring back at him. She might look like she wants to kill him, but sheâs here.Â
âYou have to admit, we make a pretty good team, darling.â
She gives him an unimpressed look, âYeah, Cooper, weâre so great at murdering people.â She looks over to the dead bodies of the raiders theyâd stolen this camp from and shakes her head. âI forgot how much death you surround yourself with.â
âI surround myself with? Might I remind you, you fired the first shot, sweetheart.â Granted, he had shoved her out of her hiding spot and given her no choice about it.Â
Her head shoots up and she glares at him, âYou made me!â She opens her mouth and he grins. He enjoys provoking her like this. Even if the last time he had sheâd shot him because of it, but itâs fun to rile her up. She always gets so pissed off, it entertains him to no end.Â
To his disappointment, she closes her mouth and shakes her head, choosing not to engage with him. He sighs and rips off a piece of jerky. âWhen did you turn into such a wet fucking blanket?â
Her eyes flare with anger, despite that, he can hear how hurt she really is. âMaybe when you sold me!â
He tilts his head and runs his tongue over his teeth, âYou ever gonna let that go? I told you it was a mistake. How was I supposed to know they were gonna breed you like a prize pig?â
She scoffs, the noise high pitched and shocked. She shakes her head and stares at him with wide eyes, âYou are unbelievable.â He shrugs and takes a swig from the flask heâd stolen off one of the raiders. Heâs not sure how they make their alcohol, or if they trade for it, but itâs fucking disgusting. He frowns at the flask and drains the rest of it before tossing it into the woods behind him.Â
She sighs and runs a hand over her face, her voice tired as she asks, âWhatâs the plan here, Cooper?âÂ
He picks at his teeth and shakes his head, âWith what?â
She leans against the log behind her and gestures at herself. âWith me. What, are you going to wait for me to pass out so you can tie me up and send me back to the compound? Iâve seen the price on my head. I know how valuable I am to everyone in the Wastelands.â
He doesnât know why what sheâs saying bothers him so much but it does. âYou really think Iâd send you back there?â
Her face is devoid of anything as she responds, âWhy wouldnât you?â
Itâs the bluntness with which she asks that, that bugs him. Like thereâs no other possibility but him betraying her. Taking advantage of her while she was vulnerable and weak and then handing her over to the people who want her dead. He wouldnât do that to her.Â
He didnât go through all this fucking trouble to find her just to lose her again. He wants to tell her as much but sheâs on her feet and grabbing her bag before he can. âLook, I appreciate the help today, but Iâm not interested in starting this partnership back up again. I think itâs better if we just part ways.â
He whips his gun out before he can think about what heâs doing. She freezes, still bent over and eyes his gun warily. âIâm afraid thatâs not an option, darling.â He canât let her leave again. And maybe this isnât the best way to go about it, but he doesnât know how else to stop her.Â
âYou gonna shoot me, Cooper?â She whispers, her own hand twitching for the revolver at her side. He stands up and grabs her wrists, ignoring the way she struggles against him. He binds her hands with his rope and he sits back down,Â
âIâm not gonna turn you in and Iâm not gonna shoot you. But youâre not getting out of here that easy, sweetheart.â
Her eyes narrow in on his, her fists clenched tightly in anger. âI killed two men with my hands bound today. Whatâs stopping me from killing you?â
He shrugs, âNothing. Thereâs nothing stopping you, just like thereâs nothing stopping me. But Iâm not killing you, am I? See,â he leans forward, âIâve fought too hard and spent too much time looking after you to just let you go now. Weâre in this together, whether you want it or not.â
Her lips split in a sneer and she throws herself down on the log. âYouâre all the fucking same. You treat me like a goddamn dog that needs to be beat into submission. Iâm not some misbehaving pet, Cooper!â Her eyes well up and her voice breaks, âYou donât get to just leash me and expect me to be okay with it.â
âIâm under no illusions that youâre happy here, sweetheart.â He runs a hand down his face and she shakes her head in disbelief.Â
âThen just let me go,â sheâs bordering on begging now and his chest squeezes the longer she stares at him with those pleading eyes of hers. Itâs not something heâs familiar with, this feeling, this longing for her to just shut the fuck up and stop making this so damn difficult for him.Â
âI canât,â he mutters, wanting her to just drop it.Â
âWhy not?â She snaps, dropping any pretenses of trying to get him to sympathize with her.
He surges forward and grabs her by the jaw. Her eyes widen in shock and he smashes their lips together, teeth clashing painfully. Thereâs nothing gentle or sweet about this kiss. Her teeth are ripping into his scarred lips until the taste of copper is spreading on his tongue. He groans, digging his fingers into her cheeks until her lips part.Â
His tongue probes against hers, the taste of his blood spreading into her mouth as well. She whimpers, the noise stirring something in him heâd forgotten about. Thereâs an old desire bubbling in him thatâs making him blind to the rest of the world. He wants her, more than he ever wants to admit.Â
Heâs wanted her for a long time before this and they both know it. How hard heâs fought against it, against moments like these. He didnât think he was still capable of this feeling, this desire for her. But itâs consuming. Sheâs ruining him, running him in circles until he thinks heâs going insane.Â
But itâs not the same gentle passion it once was. Itâs as twisted as heâs become. The desire to possess, consume, covet until sheâs his and only his to do with what he wants. His teeth dig into her, letting her blood overcome the taste of his own. He groans, his free hand grabbing her waist and yanking her closer.Â
She tastes so much sweeter than he does, he wants to rip a chunk of her off and eat her whole. Heâs so distracted he doesn't even notice her pulling out her gun until heâs shooting back from her. He lands roughly on the forest floor and groans, hands clutched over the bleeding hole in his gut. Pain radiates through his abdomen and he rolls onto his side.
He looks up at her in shock. Sheâs spitting their blood onto the ground, her bound hands wiping at her lips. âAsshole,â she mutters. She tucks her gun back in her holster and looks over at him.Â
His eyes are wide in disbelief as he struggles to sit back up. The movement causes another wave of pain and he hisses through gritted teeth, âYou shot me!â
She rolls her eyes and gives him a blank look, âYouâll live.â He limps back to his own seat and lifts his shirt, watching as the hole closes over slowly and the blood stops leaking. She watches as he heals and sighs, âUnfortunately.â He tugs it back down and sighs at the state of his shirt.Â
âMy shirt wonât.â He digs a finger into the hole and tugs on it, watching as it rips wider. Two hundred years heâs kept these clothes, she ruins them in a month. Un-fucking-believable.Â
âSew it,â she gripes, still wiping at her mouth. âI canât believe you just fucking kissed me,â she frowns and spits again, bits of crimson lingering on her lips.Â
He sighs and leans back against the tree. âFelt right in the moment.â It did, he wants to do it again. Theyâre even now, theyâve both shot each other twice. No reason for her to shoot again.Â
He wants to feel the way she shivers against him and moans into his mouth. She can be pissed all she wants but she kissed back, she canât deny that. Heâs sure if she wasnât tied up sheâd be a bit more receptive to him. Or maybe she just needs time to cool off after the whole compound incident, a month seems like a reasonable amount of time. Then again, women are so damn unreasonable.Â
She tugs a knife out of her boot and positions it between her knees. She places it between her wrists and saws at the rope until it falls free. She slides the knife back in her boot and tosses the ruined rope at him.Â
He catches it with a sigh and glances up at her. âWhy didnât you do that earlier?â
Her eyes are alight with a challenge, âI wanted to see if you would let me go yourself.â Well, clearly, he had failed her little test. âI wanted to see if there was even a possibility I could ever trust you again.â
He gives her an unimpressed look, slightly pissed off about his shirt. He never should have taught her how to shoot. If heâd known it would come back to bite him in the ass he wouldnât have. âAnd?â
She gives him a disbelieving look and shakes her head. âAnd instead of letting me go, you kissed me.â She throws her hands up in astonishment and glares at him. âWhy the hell would you think that was a good idea?â
He smirks and revels in the way she shivers at the sight. âWell, darling, Iâve always been better with actions not words.â
âYeah,â her voice is a challenge, eyes hard and jaw clenched tightly in frustration. He loves the sight of her all riled up. He loves it even more knowing heâs the one getting her like this. âWhat were you trying to tell me with that little display?â
He doesnât answer her question, not wanting to just yet. âYou liked it, didnât you?â Her mouth snaps shut and she looks away from him. He laughs, leaning back and giving her a smug look. âYou can be pissed off at me as much as you want, sweetheart,â the nickname rolls off his tongue like a taunt and she sneers at him. âBut you want me just the same as you used to.â
âDo you like hurting me? Is that why you keep me around? Youâve been alone for two hundred years, Cooper. And for the majority of them youâve harbored this hatred for me because you thought I had abandoned you just like everyone else.âÂ
Her words strike a place deep inside him that has him on edge. She knows what sheâs doing. Heâs forgotten, in his time with her, that in the same way he can get under her skin, she can do it too. She knows him just as well, sheâs just always been the better half of their duo. She never feels the need to stoop to the level he does. But sheâs doing it now and it feels like a kick in the teeth.Â
âAnd Iâm the only one thatâs actually stuck by you.â She laughs, but thereâs an underlying pain to it. She looks away from him and wipes at her cheeks and his fists clench within his gloves. âIs this your revenge? You think by torturing me you get back at everyone whose ever fucked you over. Iâm sick of it, Cooper. Iâm not gonna let you use me anymore.â
âI feel for you,â he forces the words out. He doesnât want to tell her this. He shouldnât have to tell her this. She should just stick with him, itâs what theyâd always done, itâs how it always should be. Them, together. But sheâs fighting against that, against him, so much that he doesnât have a choice.Â
Sheâs backed him into a corner he doesnât know how to get out of. âIn a way I havenât in a very long time. I canât let you go. Donât you get that, sweetheart? Weâre in this together.â
She shakes her head and he sighs. âNo,â she looks at him and just shakes her head again. âNo, you donât love me, Cooper, or you donât want me at least. Iâm not the same girl I was, thatâs what youâre after. That idea in your head, of us together, thatâs who I was. You were right, the Wastelands changes you. I canât be her for you and I donât want to be.â
He chuckles and she shrinks away from the sound in suspicion. âNewsflash, darling, Iâm not the same man. I loved you a long time ago, sweetheart, but Iâm not capable of that anymore. Not for the girl you were, anyway.â
She nodded, her arms wrapped around herself. She looked like she accepted the answer, but he could see beyond that, could see that she thought he was rejecting her. It hurt, she could hate him as much as she wanted, but that still hurt her. âGood,â she muttered, âsheâs gone.â
âWell, good.â She shrank further into herself and he grinned. âYou. You as you are now. Thatâs what I want. I donât give a shit about who we were, the only person Iâve wanted since Iâve been out here has been you. Youâre the only person Iâve met who can actually keep up with me. I donât give a shit if anyone in this godforsaken Wasteland lives or dies, but I give a shit about you. Youâre also the only one who can knock me on my ass.â
Her eyes darted to the hole in his shirt and a small grin came over her lips. âHavenât been shot a lot, have you, cowboy?â
âNo,â he chuckles again and grins at her, âI havenât. Though, I am still pretty pissed about the hole in my hat.â
Her tone loses a bit of her playfulness and she glares at him, âYou more than earned that.â
He acquiesces and holds up his hands in surrender, âMaybe.â She scoffs at that and rolls her eyes. âBut I think weâre even now.â
âBarely,â she mutters, rubbing at the bruises on her wrists. She glances up at him and sighs, a surrender in her eyes. âBut, itâs close enough now.â
He stands up and she eyes him warily as he throws himself down on the log next to her. He holds out a hand, âWhat do you say, darling, partners?â
She sighs and stares at his hand for a long time. He doesnât mind, he leaves it there, hovering between them. He knows sheâll take it. âDeny it as much as you want but this is how itâs meant to be. You can keep fighting it or save us both some time.â
She reaches forward and tentatively wraps a hand around his, she uses it to yank him forward, their faces separated by an inch. âShoot me again,â she whispers, âand I wonât miss the next time I knock you on your ass.â
âOh shit,â you jump at the kickback on the rifle and nearly drop it to the ground. Cooper laughs and reaches around you, taking it from you.Â
âMaybe I should have started you off with something with a little less kick to it.â He props the rifle against the tree and glances over to the cans youâd been shooting at. Well, youâd gotten one out of five at least.Â
In all fairness this was the first time youâd ever handled a gun, youâre sure youâre doing fine for a beginner. He sucks on his teeth and looks at your targets. The serious look on his face cracks and heâs clearly trying to fight off laughing.Â
You shove at his shoulder, smiling, âShut up. Iâve never used one of these things before.â
He picks the rifle back up and starts laughing now, âYou mean a gun?âÂ
You throw your arms in the air in defeat and slump into the patio chairs heâs dragged to the back of the cabin. âThis is pointless, anyway.â He cocks the rifle and lifts it up to aim properly. In quick succession he knocks the remaining four cans off the fence. You roll your eyes at him, âShow off.â
He smiles and takes a seat next to you. You remain silent for a while, gazing across the yard and to the towering mountains across from his cabin. You appreciate him inviting you here. When youâd told him how overwhelmed youâd been feeling with all the new publicity you hadnât expected him to drag you all the way out to his mountain home.Â
You wouldnât have accepted if youâd known it was just going to be you and him. Youâd thought he was bringing his wife and kid, too. Spending a long weekend playing house with Cooper wasnât going to do anything in getting rid of your crush. It was just getting worse the longer you were around him.
Waking up everyday and having him be the first person to greet you was going to send you into an early grave. You swear your heartâs never beat this fast around anyone else. He seems to be the only man who's ever had you feeling this head over heels.Â
âI think itâs important you learn.â
You glance over at him, surprised at how serious he sounds. Heâs still staring out at the mountains, but his gaze is distant. His mind is some place else. âWhy?â You ask, voice quiet, afraid to spoil the moment.
He finally blinks, gaze darting down to his hands and the rifle still in them. âItâs easy for people to dismiss the war nowadays. They werenât there, they didnât watch as hundreds of good men and women died for them.â You frown, sometimes itâs easy to forget that heâd been fighting on the frontlines. Heâs so good at being a socialite, you feel guilty that even you sometimes forget he was a soldier before he was Cooper Howard.Â
His voice is heavy, the tension thick around the both of you. âThey seem to think the war is over. I know itâs not, itâs just going to get worse. People can bury their heads in the sand as long as they want, but when the fighting is at their front door, what are they going to do?â
You reach out, hand covering his own. He finally looks up at you and you smile. âI appreciate it, Cooper.â
His eyes quickly look at your hand before looking back at you. âFor what?â
You shrug, moving closer to him and lacing your fingers with his. You shouldnât indulge yourself like this, but you canât help it. He seems so sad and you only want to make him feel better. You just want to take care of him, the way he takes care of you.Â
âFor always looking out for me. Youâre always there, I appreciate it. I appreciate you.â
The sad cast over his face finally breaks and he smiles at you. His hand squeezes yours once, then again and he looks back out at the mountains without saying anything else. You donât think he needs to, that either of you needs to. Sometimes you understand each other better without words.Â
Youâll always be there for one another.
You eye him warily and he holds the jerky out further. âArenât you a little curious?â He taunts, waving the jerky around in front of your face. You know he thinks you wonât take it. That heâs just screwing with you. Heâs been doing this ever since you agreed to tag along with him. Teasing you at every given opportunity.Â
You snatch it from his hands and rip a piece of it off. It kind of tastes like beef, if not a little sweeter. Thereâs also that metallic radiated tang to it. You chew it slowly, savoring the slightly caught off guard look on his face. You swallow it down, forcing your face to stay straight and not give away how disgusted you feel right now.Â
He chuckles, leaning back and looking at you with something that seems like appreciation. âI hope you know that was ass jerky.â
You gag now, glaring at him and tossing the rest of the jerky at his smug face. âYouâre such a dick.â You take a swig from your canteen and swirl the water around your mouth. It gets rid of the taste well enough but youâre never going to get over the fact that you swallowed a part of someoneâs ass.Â
He suddenly gets serious, swatting at your arm and motioning to the front of the store. You crouch beside him, watching as a raider walks out of the front doors. You donât get why they chose an old movie store for their hideout, but Cooper had it on good authority that they had a decent cache of supplies inside.Â
The last time youâd followed him into one of these things, youâd nearly died, and then heâd sold you. Youâre still not fully trusting of him. The only reason youâre with him now is because you need extra security from bounty hunters after getting booted out of Filly.Â
If he wasnât such a good shot, you would have never given him a second glance. Despite how much he insists the compound was an honest mistake, you find the trust slow to come. Youâll let him take the lead on this one, youâre not confident in him having your back if things take a turn.Â
He moves forward and you hang back, keeping watch while he slits the guardâs throat. He lowers the body quietly to the ground and you creep behind him, following him through the doors of the store.Â
This group is smaller than the last one you dealt with. Only five of them with no extra guards outside. Cooper ducks behind a dust covered shelf before they can spot either of you. You go to the other side of the store, moving slowly along the edge until you have a good shot.Â
You take out one man and Cooper manages to hit two more before they start firing off their own guns. You dart back behind the shelf, willing to let Cooper handle the last two. But one of them dives behind the shelf and grabs at you.Â
Another shot goes off and his friendâs body hits the ground while he rounds the corner with you. Heâs got an arm wrapped around your throat and the barrel of his gun pushing so hard into your skull you can feel an indent forming.Â
It wouldnât be hard to shoot this guy, you still have your gun in your hand. Cooper seems to realize that, too, from the questioning look he gives you. You drop your gun to the floor, you want to see what heâll do.Â
Maybe youâre stupid, gambling with your life like this. But you donât feel any fear, not from the guy holding you hostage at least. You just keep your eyes locked on Cooperâs. Theyâre so familiar to you, yet so distant. Like a stranger youâve known all your life.Â
He slowly rises from the floor, hands raised in the air in surrender. âAlright, letâs just see if we canât talk this out like gentlemen.â
The guy holding you jerks you roughly, gun banging painfully against your temple. You wince but remain quiet. âStay back or Iâll blow her goddamn brains out!â
Cooperâs eyes dart from your face to the guy. He huffs, frowning and pursing his lips like heâs trying to think of a way to talk himself out of this. He could leave, heâs got enough time to make it through the door before he fires at him.Â
Or he could help you.Â
Itâs the only reason you let yourself get caught. If he wants your trust heâs going to have to prove it. Cooper looks at you and a grin splits across his face. Itâs like heâs read your mind, from the knowing look on his face you think he mightâve.Â
Then again, you never really needed words to talk to each other.Â
With a speed that never fails to catch you off guard his hand darts under his jacket and he draws his gun. Heâs shooting the man before you even get a chance to brace yourself. Your body gets dragged back slightly by the dead weight but Cooper moves forward and wraps a hand around your shirt, tugging you into him.Â
Your hands shoot out, bracing yourself against his chest. He peers at you from under his hat and grins, âYou didnât really think I was gonna let you go that easy did you, darling?â Your eyes dart down to his lips, you feel like you can still taste him.Â
The timing of his kiss might not have been appropriate, but he certainly hadnât made it forgettable. Nothing about him was forgettable. As much as you wished he could be. You hated yourself for still letting yourself fall into his trap.Â
Hollywood might have once labeled you as the most seductive actress of your generation, but Cooper had you beat. He kept you coming back even when you knew you shouldnât. He had you wrapped around him and all you wanted to do was squeeze until he let you go.Â
You push off of him, ignoring how much you want to pull him closer. You move towards their pile of supplies, âLetâs see what weâve got.â
There are a few different posters set up in the old movie store that intrigue him. But the one thatâs caught his attention the most is set up directly behind her. Her back is to it, so she hasnât gotten a chance to see it yet, but itâs all he can focus on.Â
The Outlaw and The Sheriff
Their first movie together.Â
He looks at her and huffs out a laugh, she glances up at him for a moment before she begins rifling through her bag again. She looks like she walked right off the fucking poster, hat and all. Sheâs the spitting image of herself, but she seems so different.Â
Maybe itâs the eyes. The light there has changed, dimmed slightly from how it used to be. She used to seem so naive to the world, like a little lamb that just needed some guidance. Now, he wonders just how much of the world sheâd seen before he found her. If maybe she had never been as innocent to itâs cruelties as heâd once assumed.Â
She stepped into this new role of hers just as quickly as he had. You didnât just change that quickly without knowing already just how awful people could be.Â
âSweetheart,â she looks up and he points behind her. She turns around and looks up to the poster.
She scoffs, moving to stand beside him, âI always hated how I looked in that.â
He glances over at her and shakes his head, âProbably shouldnât show you a mirror anytime soon, then.â Her hands reach up to fiddle with the brim of her hat and she smiles, a real smile for once.Â
âNo, I suppose not.â Her hands trace over her lips, he glances back at the poster. At that old signature of hers. She always had to have those red lips. âItâs so different,â she whispers and he knows she didnât mean for him to hear. Her eyes glisten and he frowns.Â
He shouldnât have shown her. Itâs not like he enjoyed seeing those fucking Vault-Boy posters, he sure as hell hated seeing clips of himself. Why would she enjoy seeing who she used to be? Who they used to be?
Things used to be so simple. He loved her, she loved him. Now heâd fucked up so much he wasnât sure she could ever look at him the way she used to. He didnât want who she was before, he couldnât handle that. This new her, well, he didnât give her near enough credit.Â
But he wouldnât hate seeing someone look at him like that again. Endless adoration and unflinching loyalty. He knew he would follow her anywhere, heâd realized that a while ago. He didnât have anything in the Wastelands, nothing but hate and spite to keep him going all this time.
Now, he had her. He just needed her to realize that she had him just the same. She had him wrapped around her and he hated it and loved it at the same time. Hated her and loved her for it all the same.Â
He tugs his glove off before he reaches for her. He cups her cheek, thumb tracing over her lips before she turns towards him. His eyes meet hers and he smiles slightly at the familiarity and mystery to them. So much of her he recognizes and then there are these new parts heâs yet to discover.Â
He wants to discover all of her. Learn everything he can about her all over again, feed his desire to consume her entirely.Â
She pulls him in this time, her lips chapped and cracked. Her arms wind around his neck, yanking him closer and he tugs at her. She tastes as sweet as he remembers and it only makes him crave more. More of her, more of anything sheâll let him have.Â
She pulls back from him, pressing her hand against his chest, slowly backing him against the wall. He lets her ease him to the floor and she throws a leg over his lap. She settles herself above him, both her hands tightly grasping his neck, crushing their bodies together, eyes gazing intently into his own. He doesnât know what sheâs looking for in him but she seems to find it when she leans in once more.Â
She isnât giving him a chance at control, sheâs got a leash on him, pulling back anytime he tries to lead. He relents, following her as she slowly explores him.Â
Heâs not sure how long this peace between them will last before one of them inevitably fucks up. But theyâre stuck together now. It doesnât matter what happens, heâs not letting her get away from him again.Â
Sheâs his, always has been, always will be. Itâs been that way since before the fallout. Heâs led her, guided her.
He had loved her as a different man. History always seems to repeat itself with them. As twisted as the world is, as twisted as theyâve become, they always seem to drift back together. No matter how much the both of them fight against it.Â
Heâs giving in now, giving into her.Â

A reminder to everyone with the nsfw/sfw stuff going around once more
It is not your job to police the entire fucking internet and also, you physically cannot do that
Put DNI/DNF's on your blog if you feel like it. State that you don't want minors following you, tag things appropriately, put warnings before a "read more", go through and block certain people. Go ham with all of that
But at the end of the day, that is all you can do. A lot of us have the story of being a kid and seeing stuff they didn't want to see on the internet/being exposed to nsfw stuff early on internet-wise. And a lot of us were purposefully seeking that out, too. If somebody wants to access certain content online, there is very little you can do to actually stop them. All you can do is trust that they are respecting your rules
I completely understand not wanting minors to see your content, that makes sense. But do not be losing your shit at minors for accessing your content. Block them and move on. You're the adult, act like the adult
Additionally, if you're a minor? DO NOT FEEL THE NEED TO PUT YOUR AGE ON YOUR BIO. This is the internet, this is not a safe space, nowhere online is inherently a safe space. I understand not wanting creeps to interact with you, but internet safety is so important. If you want to, that is your prerogative, but we have to stop advertising this as the method to use. Stop telling minors to put their age up, this puts you at a huge risk online. Instead, if you're a minor, just respect other people's DNI/DNF's and do your best to stay out of that corner of the internet
Finally, we can tag things as SFW and NSFW all we want, but it is important to note two important truths: in every space online, there is going to be a blend of SFW and NSFW stuff, no matter how hard you try to avoid it--this is the internet, it is not a safe space. And two: You cannot control what other people look at. People are going to see what they are going to see. The best we can do is try our very best to make that kind of content very difficult to access
Most importantly, we are all human beings. Please treat everyone as human beings. It's fine to have SFW tickling content. It's fine to have NSFW tickling content. It is fine and possible, despite contrary belief, to have both
Minor, adult, everyone, just do your best to respect other people's preferences and boundaries and we can all get along okay

*****
Youâre bored out of your fucking mind. Youâve had four drinks and have walked in and out of the house probably a dozen times. For a neighborhood barbeque, itâs uneventful as hell. You would think that there would at least be a few interesting people out of so many. But no. So far thereâs a group of old ladies gathered around the pool in sun chairs, their husbands around the grill talking about sports, and some kidsâprobably grandkidsârunning rampant around the yard.Â
Thatâs what your dad gets for moving into a retiree neighborhood. Thereâs only a few other households you know of that donât host couples in their late sixties. Kind of like, speak of the devil, the Millers, who are walking in through the yard gate right now.Â
Itâs only the two of themâJoel and his daughter, Sarah, who is only about eight. She runs off to go play with the other kids and you smile as you spot Joel struggling to carry a bowl and latch the gate back at the same time. You immediately take the opportunity to walk toward him.Â
Youâve always had your eyes on Joel Miller, even though heâs only a few years younger than your father. Heâs a DILF in all ways that count. Sweet, responsible, and hot as hell.Â
âHey, Mr. Miller,â you grab his attention as you reach where heâs still trying to balance everything. His face lights up when he sees you coming to help.Â
âHey, darlinâ, you donât mind helpinâ me with this, do ya?â he nods his head to the gate.Â
âNope, not at all,â you say sweetly as you get the gate latched behind him. He beams at you as he shifts to hold his dish with both hands. It looks heavy.Â
âThank you. And please, call me Joel.â He flashes you a wink that makes your stomach flutter before he starts for the back door.Â
With nothing better to do, you follow him inside. Heâs putting his bowl in the fridge when you close the door behind you and take a spot leaning against the counter. Thereâs nobody else inside right now, and you realize you might have just found your cure for boredom.Â
You slide up next to Joel as he stands up.Â
âWhat did you bring, Mr. Miller?â you ask him in an over the top sweet voice.Â
He shoots you a pointed look and takes a step back to put a few inches between the two of you.Â
âPotato salad,â he says flatly. âAnd please, itâs just Joel.âÂ
âWell, Joel,â you take a step toward him again. âIâm bored.âÂ
You swear you see him gulp, and you know youâve got him right where you want him. He glances out the window, probably looking for your dad manning the grill.Â
âDarlinâ,â he says in warning. âIâm sure you can find something out there to do.âÂ
You pout at him. âBut I found something to do in here.âÂ
âHoney, you donât know what youâre talking about.âÂ
âNo?â you banter. âYou donât want to fuck me, Joel? I see the way you look at me.âÂ
He surges forward, trapping you against the counter. You smile wildly at him and throw your arms around his neck.Â
âGet your ass upstairs, now,â he growls. âStrip and wait on your bed.âÂ
Your pussy flutters at his command, excitement building in your stomach.Â
âYes, Mr. Miller. Donât be long.â You flash him a wink and slide from in front of him to make your way upstairs. You feel his eyes on you until you reach the top step.Â
He only waits a little while, presumably to cover his bases so it doesnât look like heâs sneaking off with his friendâs much-too-young daughter, before following you up. And by that time, youâre already naked and sitting on your bed.Â
He comes in and shuts the door behind him, making sure itâs locked tightly before turning around. Your eyes go to the massive tent in his pants, your tongue coming out to wet your lips.Â
âYouâre fuckin gorgeous, darlinâ,â he says as he takes a step toward you, already starting to unbuckle his jeans. He pulls his heavy cock out and your lips part. Youâd expected him to be big, but holy shit.
âCâmon, baby, lay back for me.âÂ
You let him push you down on your back, and then scootch up a bit so that youâre resting with your head on the pillows. Your body is practically humming with excitement and need. Being with an older man has always been something high up on your bucket list, because thereâs no doubt they know how to properly pleasure a woman. And a man like Joel MillerâŚyou canât fucking wait.Â
He leans over you and takes your lips in a sloppy kiss. You wind your arms around him and arch your back, begging silently for him to touch you already. He slips his tongue inside your mouth, and your eyes widen.Â
Heâs justâŚlicking.Â
You find it really hot when a man uses his tongue to make out with you, but. Not like this. You rear your head back, trying to gain control of the kiss. But then his hand starts to trail down to your center and you decide, whatever, you can pick and choose your battles. Youâll let him do whatever the fuck he thinks heâs doing to your mouth as long as he gets those thick fingers inside of you already.Â
He trails down, down, oh, there, he pets your clit and you shiver, and thenâ
Then he continues downâŚand to the left.Â
He starts rubbing circles on your left flap, and you furrow your brows.Â
What the actual fuck??Â
You unwind your arms and start pushing on his chest until he pulls his tongue from your mouth to gaze down at you.Â
âJoel, youââÂ
âYeah, you fuckinâ like that, donât you, baby?âÂ
You just blink at him. What?
He winks at you. âI know, darlinâ, feels real good, huh?â He dips back down to start kissing you again, thankfully leaving his damn tongue out of it. His fingers increase pressure, which you can only guess would feel really good if he was actually rubbing your clit.Â
âJoel,â you mutter against his lips again, but it comes out smushed and smothered. Kind of like your poor pussy right now. Or the outside of it, at least.Â
âSo impatient,â he laughs. âHold on one second, baby, Mr. Millerâs got you.âÂ
You resist the urge to cringe at that.Â
He taps your abused pussy lip twice and retracts his hand to grasp his cock, which youâre now worried about. Hopefully he knows how to fucking use that thing. He guides his tip to your entranceâor tries to, rather, and you groan in defeat. He rubs it up and down your slit, prodding every second or so.Â
âYeah, baby, fuckinâ love those sounds you make for me.âÂ
You just stare at him. Youâre not going to even pretend. This is just insane. How the hell did he actually make a kid??
Finally, he finds your holeâthe right one, thank godâand starts to push in. Youâre still pretty wet from earlier, though youâre sure there will be no developments in that department. Thankfully, itâs enough to ease the stuttering glide.Â
Once heâs fully in, he starts to thrust, and you grip on to him, holding on to that last hope that maybe he can nail your g-spot with that weapon of his.Â
âMâŚFeel so g-good, baby,â Joel moans.Â
He thrusts once, twice, three times, moaning like a fucking animal.Â
And then he pulls out. And shakes above you as he spills his cum on your lower belly.Â
You stare at him in shock as he rolls over and collapses beside you. His eyes are closed as he pants and reaches a hand over you to touch your stomach.Â
âYou came?â he asks.Â
You consider lying to him, but figure he doesnât deserve that.Â
âNo, Joel, I did not fucking come.âÂ
âOh, okay. Thaâs alright. Get you next time.âÂ
You sit up and gape at him.Â
âGet the fuck out of my room!âÂ
He looks at you with confusion but gets up after a moment. He yawns, tucks himself into his pants, and struts for your door.Â
âDonât be ashamed to ask for more, darlinâ. I wouldnât be opposed to doinâ this again sometime.â He sends you a wink and walks out of the room before you get the chance to say something youâll regret more than whatever the fuck just happened.Â
You learned a valuabale lesson today: age really does not fucking matter.Â

Second Chance.
Pairing : Sanemi Shinazugawa x Hashira!Reader
Warning : Slight angst, Sanemi maybe a little bit out of character, angst with a happy ending.
Part 2 of The Other Woman.
A/N : AHHHH i didn't expect people to like the first partđđ for the people who are asking for part 2, here it isss
Taglist : @yomama2089 @elibelly @delusional-mushroom @bright-sunshines
@senecarosemary-blog
Its been two weeks since the argument with Sanemi. It hasn't been clear to me if the relationship has really ended. Though, its more likely that it has. I've been doing a great job avoiding him those past 2 weeks. Over the course of those days i've been spending my time with everyone but him basically.
But then again, it didn't go unnoticed for the others. Not seeing us together hip to hip did made them suspicious. Cause even if we were in a room together, i avoided him even if it means staying quiet.
If i was to choose between talking to him or Tomioka i'd rather choose the second option and distract myself with having the most boring conversation in the world with Tomioka than talk to him. (no hate to him sorry, Giyuu.)
But as one would expect, the avoiding will eventually came to a stop or be forced to stop.
And here i am, in the Ubuyashiki Estate where both me and Sanemi were requested the presence of by Master himself. Being summoned like this can only mean one thing, to be situated to being partners for a mission. Of couse both of us couldn't say no.
The mission was a simple one, kill the demons that has been lurking in the village that we had been sent to. Only that it needed two pillars since the demons are reportedly strong.
We set out under the dim light of the moon. You can feel the tension that had been building for the past few days in the air, plus the uncomfortable silence that each of us didn't even dare break.
Sanemi's steps were heavy and his brow was furrowed as he led the way. I followed behind, my breath coming in short gasps as we made our way towards the village.
As we walked, we encountered a few demons along the way. But, Sanemi was quick and efficient as he struck them down, while i did the same.
Once in the village, the plan was to split up and so we did split up to search for the reported demons. Sanemi's search was quick, and i could hear the sound of his sword striking against a demon's flesh. On the other hand, my hunt was slower, i found myself wandering through the winding empty streets, trying to find the elusive demon.
Wandering around more, i finally found the demon, but it wasn't alone. There were multiple demons in the area, and they were clearly ready for a fight. I drew my sword and prepared to face them off, my heart pounding in my chest.
[ 3rd person view. ]
As the fight began, both Hashiras found themselves separated, each fighting off multiple demons alone.
[ (name)'s POV. ]
I've been fighting these demons for what felt like a few hours now, after i slayed one of them another appears and i struggled against the demon's fiery attacks.
The reports were right, these demons are strong, almost as strong as a Lower Moon, my breath coming in gasps as my strength and stamina started to weaken.
Wiping the blood off of the side of my forehead, My appearance was disheveled, my hair messed up, blood streaming down my face, my uniform has rips on it including one of the claw attack on my legs creating a masive slash on my pants. a hiss escapes my lips as i touch my bleeding forehead. 'Hurry, Sanemi. My stamina's not gonna last longer..' i bit my bottom lip. I didn't wanna die with out making up with him.
As i stumbled, i was caught off guard with a stabbed on the lower back by one of the demons i was fighting. I let out a blood curdling scream. Its a good thing that it wasn't a vital point, now, i hadn't been attacking, only defending. My moves are a bit sluggish now that the tiredness was getting to me.
An hour into the fight, It was no use, my stamina was long gone and i couldn't even gather up the strength to get up. 'Ah..im passing out..i think?' I layed there on the ground, vision starting to spin and blur, everything around sounded so muffled like i was underwater.
Through my blurry and spinning vision, i saw his familiar figure. I took one last breath and finally closed my eyes, it was enough for me to know he was alive, but there we're two demons left. I heard them whispering to each other before I saw Sanemi arrive, it was along the lines of hiding and wanting to ambush him while his defenses were down.
[ 3rd person POV. ]
Sanemi was in the middle of battle when he heard a screamâ their scream.
"[Name].." Sanemi breathe out, turning his head to the direction where he heard you scream. He turned his head again to focus on what's infront of him, Sanemi stood against three demons, his sword gleaming in the moonlight. as three demons approached him. The creatures were covered in scales and had razor-sharp claws, their eyes glowing with demonic energy. The Hashira didn't hesitate, charging forward to engage them.
The first demon was the largest, and Sanemi knew that it was the most dangerous. It raised its claws, ready to strike, but Sanemi was faster. His sword flashed in the moonlight as he struck, cutting through the demon's scales severing its arm. The demon let out a roar of pain, but Sanemi didn't let up and went of the demons neck.
Sanemi was known for his speed and precision, but even he struggled against the demons' raw power. He lunged at the first demon, his sword slashing through the air, but the demon blocked the attack easily with its massive arm. The second demon lunged at Sanemi from the side, its claws striking at his chest, but he dodged out of the way, his sword striking at the demon's neck.
The third demon was the most formidable of the group. It stood tall and powerful, towering over Sanemi. The demon let out a chilling roar, clearly preparing to attack. Sanemi stood his ground, his sword raised in a defensive position.
The demon charged at him, its huge claws bared and ready for battle. Sanemi waited for the right moment and dove out of the way, just in time to avoid the attack. The demon crashed into the ground, leaving itself vulnerable.
Sanemi was quick to seize the opportunity. He leaped onto the demon's back, his sword held high. With a single, decisive blow, he severed the demon's head from its body, effectively killing it.
Sanemi stood there, breathing heavily, his sword still clutched in his hand. surrounded by the lifeless bodies of three powerful demons. He was exhausted, both physically and mentally, but he knew that his work was not yet complete. He had heard the blood-curdling scream of his partner, who had been his only ally in this fight, and knew that he had to find them. As the adrenaline started to wear off, he started to feel the strain on his body, the toll of the intense battle suddenly catching up with him.
He quickly searched the area, his heart racing with anxiety and dread. Finally, he found them, lying on their own blood, passed out. Sanemi's heart sank as he looked down at their helpless form. He knew that the demons had done this to them, and he felt a burning anger rising within him.
But he knew that he couldn't dwell on anger now. He had to focus, to channel his emotions into the fight ahead. He had to save them, no matter what the cost. He stood infront of them to protect their unconscious body. ready to face the next challenge.
As he waited, he could hear the distant sounds of two demons growling and snarling. They were coming, and they were hungry. Sanemi was ready. He drew his sword, his eyes set on the enemy. He knew that he couldn't let his emotions get the best of him, that he had to be calm and collected. But he also knew that he had to fight with all his might, to protect the them and to avenge their wounds.
As the demons finally appeared before him, Sanemi let out a primal roar and charged at them with all his strength and speed. He was a blur of motion, and his swrod flashed in the air as he sliced through the demons like butter.
In moments, the two demons lay defeated at his feet, their heads severed from their bodies. But Sanemi's fight was not yet over. He quickly ran to their side, checking their pulse and breathing.
They were alive, but barely. Sanemi knew that he had to get them help as soon as possible.
A few minutes later, Multiple Kakushi arrived at the village taking them from Sanemi's arms. "I tried to stop the bleeding by putting pressure on it," he gently passed you to the Kakushi, "you better take good care of them." His voice was demanding but quiet. The Kakushi nodded.
After receiving news from Aoi that they had woken up from being unconscious for three days, Sanemi quickly made his way to the Butterfly Mansion, his heart racing with anxiety. He couldn't shake the feeling of dread that had been hanging over him since the battle, and he desperately needed to see the them.
Finally, he arrived at the Butterfly Mansion, his breath coming in harsh gasps as he ran up to the doorstep. He burst through the door panting.
Shinobu's eyes widen as she heard the door burst open revealing a panting Sanemi on the door way, he clearly rushed here as soon as he received the news.
"Their awake," Shinobu said, her voice soft and filled with emotion. "I was just filling them in about everything that's happened, and they were asking about you."
Sanemi's heart leapt in his chest, his eyes widening as the weight that had been pressing on him lifted. "Where are they?"
"I'll take you to them," Shinobu led the way to their room gently knocking then opening the door softly. " [name], Sanemi's here." They were spacing out looking at the window to their left, until they heard his name, they turned to look at the opened door, their eyes landing on the face on the man they love.
Sanemi couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. They were sitting there, looking just as beautiful as ever, albeit a bit pale and tired.
"I'll leave you two alone." Shinobu says, earning a hum from the both of you.
Sanemi walked over to their bed, they were leaning on a pillow while they were sitting.
"I'm glad you're okay, i shouldn't have made the plan to split up, im sorry." he murmured,
"The plan worked out fine, and if it wasn't for you i would've been devoured by those demons so, thank you."
Sanemi took a deep breath, knowing that this was a conversation that he couldn't delay any longer. He had to apologize to them about the argument both of them had a few weeks ago, to let them know that he understood ther concerns and that he was sorry for hurting them.
"I want to apologize again about the argument we had," he began, looking down at his hands. "When we first started dating, and even now, I compared you to Kanae, and I realize now that that was wrong. I didn't realize how much it hurt you, and for that, I'm sorry."
[Name] looked up at him, surprise written all over their face. He had rarely spoken to them like this before, had rarely been this vulnerable and open with them.
"Thank you," they said, taking his hand. "Thank you for understanding. And I'm sorry too, for not being completely honest with you about my worries. It's just that, i wanted for you and your brother to be okay."
Sanemi smiled, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. He knew that their relationship wasn't perfect, that they still had much to learn about each other. But this moment, this honest conversation, made him certain that they were headed in the right direction. And he was willing to do whatever it took to keep them happy, to be the best partner that he could be.
"I promise you that I'll be more thoughtful in the future," he said, looking into their eyes. "And I'll do my best to see things from your perspective. Because in the end, I don't want to lose you, and I want to make this work. So, I hope you'll give me a second chance."
They smiled, feeling a warm tingle in their chest. They never expected him to open up to them like this, to really listen to their concerns and apologize for his actions. And they knew that this was a turning point for their relationship, something that they could build on moving forward.
"Of course," they said, leaning in to kiss him. "I love you, Sanemi."
The two of them pulled away from the kiss, "I love you more."
"So, i guess we're okay?" He looked at them in the eyes. He was suprise to see them burst to laughter.
When your laughter dies down, there was a comforting silence that lingered in the air. "Yes," You smiled at him and lean into his face again to peck him on the tip of his nose.

The cold Gotham breeze nips at Jasonâs cheeks as his hands grip the ledge of the roof so hard the solid concrete almost wants to collapse at his feet. The streets are busy below him, the streetlights and buildings illuminating the otherwise dark and gloomy city. Something here manifests and metastasizes into something cruel and unusual, a type of suffering that almost brings the city pure and unfiltered joy. Itâs something about this city that feels unbearably cruel sometimes.
Gotham always felt like it was filled of poison with no antidote so maybe thatâs why Jason always managed to find himself back in the dreary city.
Itâs how he always saw himself, drenched in poison, ruining everything around him even when he desperately tries not to. Itâs as if he was cursed from the very beginning and the more he tries the more he messes up. Even coming back from the dead didnât seem right since even Bruce wanted nothing to do with him. It took him so long to even get into the familyâs good graces again because even when he would try his hardest, it always blew up in his face. So, to Jason, there had to be something wrong with him.
But, then, there was you.
Jason remembers the first time you had a proper conversation. You'd met a handful of times prior but never really talked past the usual pleasantries. Dick had asked for your help on a mission even when Jason insisted they had enough help with the other bats and a few of their tag-a-longs. But, Dick insisted.
----
âRed Hood.â Youâd snickered through your mask as you watched Jason on his stomach watching the building in front of you through binoculars.
âSomething funny?â Jason quipped back with a gentle force of annoyance.
He could do this himself. He did not need to be teamed up with anyone and he had no clue why of all people, he was teamed up with you. You didn't even know each other. At least Jason knew the other bats and their ability and capabilities. You were an unknown factor in this even if he trusted Dick's opinion on you. He knew he could do this himself...in peace and quiet.
âIrony.â Youâd stated back. âRed Hood. Joker. Boom.â You shrugged dramatically, earning a glance from Jason. You couldnât see it through the helmet, but if looks could kill, youâd have been dead on the spot. âItâs not a very threatening name.â Your voice was nonchalant it made Jason want to groan for ten minutes.
âExcuse me?â Jason shook his head.
âI meanâŚRed Hood." You stated again, just as casually as before. "Not very threatening for a guy who decapitates people and blows people up.â
Jason moved the binoculars from the helmet and looked back at you. âOkay, so what would you have suggested then, huh?â Jason questioned and heâd have been lying if he said he wasnât somehow both annoyed to hell and back and also, a bit intrigued about where youâd go with this as you knew anything at all about him.
âI think it would have been hilarious if you kept the Robin mantle actually.â Your voice had been airy and filled with amusement as a smile reached your eyes.
Jason had to bite back his own snicker. âDonât think anyone would else would have.â
âWell, thatâs cause they have shit senses of humor. I mean if I hear Dick say one more pun tonight, I think Iâll have an aneurism.â
âYeah.â Jason lets out a chuckle this time and you felt as though you had won something from it. âHis jokes are the fucking worst.â Jason almost groans through the helmet. âBut yours arenât much better, princess.â Jason stated before picking up the binoculars again to go back to watching the building.
A genuine smile came over your features. âI know.â
Jason's eyes had softened when heâd glanced back over at you. Something about how you held yourself during the stakeout, the ease of the conversation and you bringing up his death. He knew your fighting style, knew about your powers. He knew what you could do and how well off you were and how you were able to perfectly handle yourself. But, the ease of you held yourself on that rooftop was as if everything else were going to be easy for you even if it wasnât. It was interesting and a bit fun.
âHowâd Dick rope you into this anyway?â Jason had asked as he kept his eyes on the building.
âI had nothing else to do.â You laughed softly.
It was true. You didn't and Dick asked. His jokes might be bad but he was always one of your best friends so you'd always help when he asked. But, it wasn't all that big of an ask when Dick mentioned Jason would be helping, too. Maybe you had asked to be teamed with him instead of Steph or Tim this time.
âHow about you? Dick said you donât do the team thing very often.â You asked.
âHad nothing else going on.â Jason had chuckled softly. âIf Dick was asking me and everyone else, I felt like I had to help." Jason stated even if he didn't really mind helping out his siblings.
âThatâs nice of you.â Youâd said.
âItâs nothing.â Jason keeps his eyes on the building you were supposed to be watching.
Itâd be a lie if you said you werenât the least bit intrigued by your friendâs brother. Dick talked about him often enough. You knew stories about The Red Hood. Jason Todd had almost seemed interesting from your perspective. The misfit son who gets brutally murdered and comes back to be, somehow, more of the misfit troublemaker that pisses everyone off. Hero turned anti-hero (youâd refused to call him a villain). It was tragic but he still comes back and instead of deciding to make innocent people suffer like most other people would do if they were him, he decided to just do something about it. Maybe his methods are a bit extreme and maybe heâs a bit of an asshole, but heâs doing something for the greater good. Thatâs not all bad and youâd always thought that was still better than him doing worse or doing nothing. Youâd always thought that made him more interesting, more admirable.
And, maybe it doesnât hurt that heâs kind of pretty with the blue eyes and white streak of contrast amongst the rest of his black hair.
âSoâŚâ You cleared your throat.
Jason looked back at you and then back to the building. âWhat?â
âAre you always so broody?â You asked bluntly as you moved your eyes back to him.
âIâm not broody.â Jason snapped. He was not broody, he was just busy.
âKind of are.â Youâd smiled with confidence.
âWeâre supposedââ
âBlah blah blah." You waved him off because you knew exactly what he was going to say. "I know. We are. We can do the stakeout and get to know each other.â
You were not bad company. But, you were blunt and talkative. Jason didn't really know what to make of it, really. This small conversation had shown him that you would ask and say whatever crossed your mind and he has learned that is not always a good thing. Though, your bluntness and how casual you were about the whole thing was a bit intriguing. This was a job, however, and Jason did not come to make friends with Dick's friend.
âWho the hell said I wanted to get to know you?â Jason had snarked back.
âOuch.â You huffed as you started feeling a little disheartened. âThat was mean.â Your nose had scrunched under your mask.
âLook, princess, weâre on a job. Thatâs all it is. Donât take it personally.â Jason shook his head and he didn't intend to hurt your feelings but this was supposed to just be a job.
âYou can't me princess and one minute it sounds fine but condescending the next. Thatâs weird. And the job doesn't have to be boring. Doesnât silence ever bother you?â Youâd asked and it was that question that always irked him.
Itâs silent a lot for him. Heâs used to it but silence is still deafening. Since getting into the good graces with the family finally, it hadn't been as bad. There was usually someone calling him or something he needed to tell one of them. But, silence can eat at him still. It bothered him, just not on a mission or a job. Silence there was always fine though he didn't think that was entirely the point of your question.
âIâm sorry.â Jason muttered. âIâm not trying to be an asshole. Just wanna get this shit done.â He hadnât looked back at you once.
You were still intrigued by him. You still wanted to get to know him even if he didn't want to get to know you yet. It wasn't some secret Jason was guarded. That was fine. It didn't really bother you. So, maybe it was dumb then but you decided to just go for it.
âWanna grab something to eat after then?â You asked bluntly, getting Jasonâs attention.
âWhat?â Jason asked quickly as he turned his head to look at you again.
âLike food?â You quipped. âYou and me. Food, get to know each other.â Your voice had sounded a little more nervous this time.
"You actually want to get to know me?" Jason questioned. "Thought you were making conversation."
"Well..." You shrugged softly. "Yeah, conversation but I also want to get to know you. You seem fun." You'd managed to pull off a cheeky smile with your last sentence.
Jason had actually laughed. âI seem fun?â
âAre you an owl?â You quipped back as you matched his laughter. âYeah, Red Hood seems like heâd be fun." You urged. "Get food with me.â You shrugged softly as hope echoed into your eyes.
Jason almost said no. Lately, he regrets not saying no. He should have. He swears left and right, up and down, every piece of him should have just said no. But, he thought you were pretty and funny and interesting. Itâd been a while since Jason just got to know someone. He thought it would have been nice and you had so much hope in your eyes, he wasn't sure he could have mustered up a no if he really tried. There was something about you that made him interested enough to just get food. That would be all it would be. Just food. A no was never going to be an answer.
âFine but I pick the place.â Jason stated before he looked back at the building.
Youâd beamed from under the mask, a rush of heat coming to your cheeks. âOkay, Red.â You nearly laughed. âI trust you.â
----
Jason's legs are trembling and it's getting harder to breathe. It is as if his own memories are strangling him from the inside out, a desperate attempt to suck the life out of him one last time. He used to look at that night with a sense of fondness, almost nostalgia because of how far the two of you had come in three years. But, now it's just tainted memories haunted by the vision of you and the false concept of Jason Todd being allowed to be happy.
He remembers so vividly you telling him you trusted him as if it were somehow something so easy for you. You trusted him and you barely knew him. Jason knew then Dick likely told you some stuff about him, Steph, too probably. Maybe the other bats if you ever asked but under no circumstances should you have just so blindly trusted him after meeting him a handful of times, this having been one of the only actual conversations you had. But you did and something about it made Jason both want to jump off the roof and fall right onto the concrete below him and make his heart melt from his chest.
He thinks about it for just that single second, it was nice. It was a silly thought, he swears it was. No one should trust him because people trust him and then they get hurt, right? Thatâs how the story goes. In one way or another, they get hurt. Maybe itâs Jason doing the hurting in his typical self-destruction way or itâs worse. But, they get hurt. You trusted him and he thinks thatâs the exact moment he should have evacuated. That night changed everything because he didnât. He didnât evacuate like he had all but been trained to do. He went to get food with you.
----
âSo, tell me about you, Jason Todd.â You had grinned wickedly at him as you pointed a limp french fry at him from across the booth.
Jason shook his head as he leaned back. âLike what?â
âDunno.â You shrugged and the grin never left your face. âWhat do you like to do for fun?â You asked so sincerely Jason had burst into a fit of laughter.
It echoes through the small diner. Booms off the booth and the glasses. Youâd thought it was the most beautiful sound youâd ever heard. His nose had scrunched and his head tilted back. The laugh was hearty and somehow soft. It fit him so well and he seemed so genuinely happy.
âWhat I do for fun? Thatâs what you want to know?â Jason quipped back as he caught his breath.
âIâm sorry that question wasnât up to your standards?â You had laughed back and Jason felt his heart skip a single beat.
âNo, not that. Of all things you could ask though, thatâs what you want to know?â Jason asked.
âWell, yeah.â Youâd answered easily. âI know what you do for a living. So, what do you like to do when youâre not doing that?â
There was something so honest and sincere about how youâd asked, Jason almost felt comfortable laying it out. His interests are his and in a way, he always likes keeping them a little close to his chest. Some things he doesnât tell everyone but othersâŚitâs okay that they know but theyâre his. But you were eating your fries, just waiting, filled with hope.
âI like to read.â Jason stated simply as he plucked one of his fries from his plate.
âOh! Like what?â You asked with eyes wide as you put an elbow on the table to lean in. Dick said Jason was guarded so you didnât think youâd get too much out of him tonight but you were so relieved you got something from him.
Maybe youâd had a crush on him from a distance for a while.
âUh..â Jason offered an awkward chuckle. âLike Jane Austen.â Jason shrugged. âMary Shelley.â
You shook your head in surprise. âNot what I expected.â
âYeah, yeah--â Jason had started to wave you off.
âNo, I mean, I dunno. Thought itâd be likeâŚGodfather-type books. Or something.â You were the one who offered an awkward chuckle that time. âI love Frankenstein.â You'd said it softly with a tender smile and Jason felt relieved.
Jason had asked you what it was about Frankenstein you liked so much and you just went on a whole ramble about it. Jason hung onto every word as if your voice was the sound of his favorite song played on repeat. He just...listened and something about the way he smiled made your heart jump and spin. You may not have had the excessive amount of trauma Jason did but...there was always something that felt comforting when someone let you ramble and he did. Not once did he seem bored or disinterested and then you got to watch his face light up when you asked him why he liked Jane Austen and what his favorites were.
It was Jason's turn to ramble and it wasn't much at first but the more he got going, it was like the more excited about it he got. His face lit up like a Christmas tree and he got a little more dramatic and he relaxed a little in his seat. Jason didn't get a lot of chances to really ramble about his interests, not like this. But, you gave him that in the little diner booth and it felt comforting. It felt nice. It was fun and he'd have been lying if he said he didn't really enjoy it. And the more you asked about his interests and participated in conversation, the more comfortable he felt.
He was still guarded but you shared some interests so it felt easier to let the conversation go where it wanted, bouncing back and forth between some of both of your favorites and hobbies. It felt good to let go for a few hours. You wanted to get to know him and as it would have turned out, he was really enjoying getting to know you, too.
âWhat else do you do for fun?â Jason asked as he rested his elbow on the table, now a few hours into this getting to know each other thing.
âAsk broody men out to get food.â Youâd laughed that was more of a snicker as if you were proud of yourself for the comment and it got Jason to chuckle right back.
âOh, so Iâm just a meal ticket tonight?!â Jason had asked with sarcasm.
âAnd a conversation!â You had defended, the both of you laughing.
âI am so hurt.â Jason had said it dramatically, easily.
âOh, I am so sorry.â Your eyes had widened with sarcasm. âHow will you ever recover?â You faked a whine, a hand over your heart and then Jason gained this smirk.
Jason knew it was getting to be early in the morning and you'd have to end this whole thing soon but that did not mean he didn't want to continue getting to know you. You were right. This was fun and maybe he liked your company after all. He liked how easy you made this whole thing seem. No part of him really wanted this to end so he decided to go for it, just as you did.
âWhat are you doing Thursday?â Jason asked bluntly.
It caught you off guard and it took everything in you not to burst at the seams. You hoped Jason didnât notice.
He did.
âUhâŚâ You stuttered with a gushy smile. âNothing, I donât think.â You bit the inside of your cheek to try to calm down the smile while you failed miserably. âWhatâd you have in mind?â
----
Tears are hot on Jasonâs cheeks as he remembers that night as if it had just happened. His teeth are clenched so hard they might just shatter right through his gums. His breathing is quick and everything starts to ache.
You had been so happy that he asked you to do something with him, he never thought twice about taking it back. The thought could have crept up on him and he would have shoved it into the darkest corner of his mind because the idea of disappointing you nearly shattered him. He didnât even know you but there was hope and kindness and sarcasm and you were funny. You didnât care. You told him Red Hood was not scary. You looked at him with kindness and hope, two things most people do not look at him with and he felt important for those four hours in that booth with you. So, he decided to take that risk.
Risks are a part of his daily life. They are usually calculated and you had told him they were not always calculated in a way that was really all too beneficial to him. The odds were never on his side very often. But thatâs just part of the job, something you did understand. Jason was used to risk. His whole life had been one risk after the other just to survive. He was good at taking risks and showing them he didnât care. This was a risk he wishes he never took though. Showing you these parts of himself and finally letting his guard down. He regrets that risk because he had just done what he always does and wouldnât have caved about it, none of this would have happened because you would have given up. He bites his tongue as he remembers the exact moment he wanted to flee and decided not to.
----
You were on a rooftop in Crime Alley, not too high up and below you, Jason was kneeling in front of a few kids. You were not spying on him. You were supposed to meet up together while you were in Gotham, this was the spot but apparently, the kids had other ideas. He was just kneeling down to their level, no helmet and a smile beaming back at them. The two kids who couldnât have been older than seven, looked at him like he was their hero. Jason was not the scary Red Hood who blows people up with c4 or the guy who will decapitate people to get what he wants from other people or the guy who might as well be a sharpshooter and is not afraid to display it. They do not look at him like a weapon. They look at him like he will protect them and he is so kind.
Youâd been on a few dates over the last few months, nothing too serious even if neither of you were looking or talking to anyone else. It was nothing too serious even if you both talked nearly nonstop and maybe you couldnât stop thinking about each other. But, itâd only been a few dates and you didnât know each other too well yet and that was okay. But, something you had learned was that Jason is very kind. He is a huge asshole but he is so kind. Innocent people, kids, he is nice to them, far nicer than most people are. Jason Todd can and will kill people but he is not as ruthless and calloused as other people think he is and maybe have convinced him he is. So you had sat on that rooftop and watched him with those kids.
He laughed at what you would only assume were bad jokes and Jason never let the smile fall from his lips. It was just the two kids at first then there were five and then ten. He somehow had gathered a group of kids who were just interested in meeting the Red Hood. One of them had a scraped knee so you watched as Jason pulled out a bandaid from his tactical belt. You couldnât make it out but you did see it was purple and black. He spent an hour just entertaining these kids before they finally decided to disburse.
âKids, huh?â You had asked once your feet were on solid ground.
Jason quickly turned around, a quirked brow raised as he looked to the roof. âHow long were you watching me?â
âWell, Iâm never late soâŚâ Your mask covered your smile but he could tell by the way you looked down and the crinkles by your eyes you were smiling. âYouâre different with them.â You stated, blunt as always.
âWell, theyâre kids soâŚ.â Jason said, unsure what your point would have been.
You nodded. âYeah, I meanâŚkidsâŚthe, uh, the homeless, sex workers, addicts. You're different. Youâre different with people here.â You pointed it out because you'd noticed before.
This was your third time in Crime Alley with Jason and he was always different here. It was always rooted in an understanding and a genuine kindness and empathy for things people have dealt with. He never treated someone differently because of their circumstances and instead, he fought for them. You'd seen your fair share of people being cruel to kids and the homeless, sex workers, addicts, the poor. Jason just isn't. Jason gave you a little more faith in humanity.
Meanwhile, Jason could never wrap his head around your bluntness. You never cared how something sounded or how it came off. You just said what you were thinking. That scared him. And made him feel at ease. He knew he would never have to question your intentions but he also had absolutely no idea what you were thinking.
âGrew up here.â Jason pulled in a breath as he rested the helmet on his hip. âI know what it's like.â Jason admitted and it was a small sliver of information he gave up willingly.
You had nodded softly. âYeah, uhâŚDick said you grew up here. Shit was hard for you until Bruce caught you.â
Jason had let out this sort of scoff that was almost a chuckle as he looked up to the sky and then the right. You couldn't tell if it was something bitter in him that was turning or something pleasant. You'd have put your bet on something bitter if he'd asked.
âYeah, something like that.â Jason looked back to you, shifting his weight.
Dick had warned you to be careful. It was not to be mean towards Jason by any means. It was more because Dick knew Jason tended to push and self-sabotage things. He wanted you not to pry too much too quick. You knew youâd likely have to ask him direct questions if there were things you wanted to know but you knew not to pry too much. You didnât want to scare him off but itâs been a few months and a few dates and you were curious about it. You wanted to know what made Jason Todd, Jason Todd.
âDo you want to tell me about it?â You asked and you were cautious, something you never really were when asking him things.
Jason had hesitated for a second. It was not a secret. He just prefers to not talk about himself and there was a little bit of something bitter thinking about all of it. Thinking about his life in Crime Alley brings back to him meeting Bruce and then dying. It brings him back to coming back and the way Bruce looked at him like he were a monster before throwing a baterang at his neck. It was the way Jason couldnât figure out why they couldnât just forgive each other. It brings back bitterness and pain he canât quite explain. But, it wasnât all bad and if he were being really honest, he kind of really liked you. Maybe he could tell you some things about it. You'd yet to give him any reason to not tell you so he decided to take that risk and let you into a small part of his world.
âWhatâd ya wanna know?â Jason asked before he put the helmet back on.
âUhâŚâ You werenât sure if heâd be okay to talk about it so you were unprepared. âWhatever you wanna tell me.â You stated simply as you closed the distance between you.
âWell,â Jason cleared his throat. âIt wasnât all bad.â Jason managed a chuckle before he started telling you things about growing up here and things about his parents, helping you better understand him as a person while also allowing Jasonâs trust in you to grow.
----
He stands on this rooftop, desperately begging to go back in time and take the risk back. He wants to fall back to three years ago and rip that night from the both of you. You will be disappointed but that is significantly better than this. Jason swears it is better than this. He can not have you. That is fine. You will do better, you will find better, you always deserved better. He wants to go back and take everything back.
His hands are gripping the cement as if thatâll send him into the past and it only makes his chest feel like it might split open and spill his heart out. He'd dig his own hand into his ribcage and rip his heart from his chest if it would fix any of this. Jason's hands shake with his grip and he would do anything, sacrifice anything he could just to go back. He wants to take it all back even if itâll hurt you because he remembers that time you told him you had a crush on him.
----
âHow long?!â Jason had scrunched his face, confused and insane amused.
âLike a year.â It was more of an awkward giggle that you let out. âI donât know!â You threw your arm out dramatically, almost regretting telling him. You knew he would be teasing you forever over it now.
âYouâve liked me for a year?â Jason chuckled. âFucking why? You didnât even know me!â Jason repositioned on the couch, resting his arm on the back of the couch as he faced you.
âThat was part of the fun!â Your eyes had widened as you defended yourself. âI donât know. Something about the white streak of hair and broad shoulders andâŚâ You pulled in a breath as you shook your head at him, more to try and tease him. âI donât know. I thought you seemed interesting.â
Dick introduced you at one of the Wayne party things they had at the manor. You were so nervous you could have died right then and there. It really was something about the white streak of hair and the broad shoulders, the thick thighs, and the way his eyes were so damn pretty you could have combusted. His canines were a bit sharp so it looked like he had tiny fangs when the sun hit them just right. Jason didnât say too much but you thought he was pretty. And you caught glimpses of him throughout the day, laughing with his siblings and rolling his eyes at Bruce and helping Alfred with some of the food. He was big and tall and a little intimidating but not when he was just existing with his family and you found that interesting. The crush went from there.
âWas this before or after Dick told you about me?" Jason had raised a brow, still trying to fathom why you were so interested in him without having had a single conversation.
"After." You answered simply. "He told me all of your stories pretty early on into the friendship. Got to hear all about the kids of Bruce Wayne and company." You stated with a soft smile.
"Why then?" It was a genuine question he had. "And why didn't you say anything for a year?" Jason probably wouldn't have said anything at all if it were him but he's surprised you waited so long since you never seemed to hide any of your emotions.
"I wasn't sure how you'd feel about it." You laughed softly, looking down for a second before looking back to him. "I didn't see you often, thought maybe it'd fade but it did not." You scrunched your nose as your smile grew. "But, uh, I don't know. Dick told me you died and how andâŚthat you guys didnât get along to put it lightlyâŚsince you came back. At first. You were all good then now but it took awhile. But then I meet you andâŚâ You shook your head. âYou didnât seemâŚmean orâŚthreatening. I donât know.â You could feel the heat start to burn your cheeks.
You had only heard the story from Dick's point of view at that time. You've since gotten Jason's side but only hearing Dick's was different. There was anger and a sense of betrayal even if it wasn't rightfully placed. It was as if Jason being brought back brought back all of their guilt and grief, too but they never had any way to deal with it. They didn't know where to put it so they put it on the person that caused it, in a roundabout way. It wasn't right and it wasn't right what Jason was doing either. It was just a mess of miscommunication and the inability to move on. Dick spoke fondly of Jason by the time you met, but he told you about all of it so despite his kind words about Jason, you thought maybe he'd be a bit mean and cold and broody and intimidating. But he was not. He was warm and kind and he looked happy. You found it interesting that after everything, Jason was not a cold and cruel person.
âHey, you canât go around saying Iâm not threatening.â Jason had given you this teasing grin. âYouâll ruin my rep.â
You let out a snort. âDidnât you just save like a litter of kittens from a car, gave the driver the dirtiest look I had ever seen, and then wouldnât leave the shelter until they told you they would be fine? Did you not just do that two days ago? Did you not call today to check on them?â
âIâm sorry, should I have let that dickhead hit the kittens?!â Jason asked in horror.
âNo!â You let out this laugh that Jason nearly melted into. âIâm just saying, it is not me saying you arenât threatening. It is going to be those kittens. Theyâre gonna tell all the other kittens and theyâre gonna show up here and then youâre gonna have beef with Selina. I donât think thatâs something you want.â You shrugged casually, trying to withhold your own laugh.
Jasonâs booming laugh consumed his entire apartment. âI did not realize saving those kittens would have such a butterfly effect on my relationship with Selina.â
âShut up!â You groaned as you tossed your head back.
âOkay can we go back to you having a massive crush on me for a year?â Jason eyed you with big doe eyes, mocking you.
âI hate you.â You deadpanned.
âNo, you donât.â Jason pulled in a breath as he gained a giant smile. âBecause of your crush on me.â He batted his eyes at you and you wanted to kiss the growing smirk right off of his lips.
âYeah, I hate you actually. You suck.â You crossed your arms and gave him a fake pout. âMy feelings are hurt and everything!â
Jason chuckled before he grabbed your hand from your arm. âI hurt your feelings?â Jason questioned with disbelief, knowing damn well he did not.
âYes, you did.â You struggled desperately not to break into a fit of laughter as Jason pulled you into his lap.
âYou look really hurt.â Jason nodded his head sarcastically, his eyes looking up at you and you thought you'd melt into him.
âI am!â You said it dramatically as a laugh slipped from your lips.
âRight.â Jason nodded his head, his hands coming to your hips. âI am so sorry, could you ever think to forgive me?â Jason questioned with so much sarcasm, you thought heâd start to lose his composure.
âI donât know.â You answered with a dramatic pout.
Jason let out a laugh. âYour big ole crush on me wonât let you stay mad at me.â Jason leaned toward you, his eyes dodging to your lips.
âYou are insufferable.â You stated quietly.
âSure.â Jason muttered before his hand came to your cheek and pulled you in for a kiss. âSo insufferable.â Jason muttered against your lips.
âJust shut up and kiss me.â You rolled your eyes and Jason did not waste a single second more to complete the request.
----
Jason remembers how happy it all was. You were like this beam of light in his life and for once, it didnât seem so damn grim. Half the time, he didnât care if he came home or not. But then you started dating and he fell so hard for you that he didnât think heâd ever stop falling. And suddenly, there was this big reason to come home every night. The loss of him for you would hurt, even if it were momentary. AndâŚhe liked being able to come home to you on weekends when you'd stay in Gotham. He liked having someone to come home to. He liked being happy and having a reason to be happy.
Half that time he didnât care if he came home or not and that caused its fair share of fights. Jason's breath shakes in the cold breeze as his chin quivers, remembering the fights you'd have about it. There were never many because you just didn't fight. Jason would sometimes push and pull, try to sabotage things and you always just called him on his shit, rarely ever even raising your voice at him. But, these fights happened because you cared about him and Jason didn't know what he was supposed to do with that. He was never entirely sure if he could carry it even though you became one of the most important people in his life. He thought you'd leave, maybe, until the last time you fought about it. As tears spill from his eyes, he remembers the last fight you ever had about him being careful.
----
âWhy the fuck are you mad now?â Jason groaned from the bathroom as he cleaned up the first aid supplies.
âI donât fucking know, Jay. Why the fuck would I be mad?!â You yelled back, storming through his apartment. Everything felt too tight, too hard, too much.
âIf I knew, I wouldnât have fucking asked!â Jason yelled back as he followed you into the living room.
You didnât normally fight and if you did, it was small stuff. Not this. This felt big. It had scared him because as much as he loved to push, he didn't want to lose you. It was never about him, it was always about you deserving better than him or deserving more. But, he almost felt paralyzed at the thought this fight wasn't going to be like the others. He thought you'd finally had it.
âMaybe thatâs the problem.â It was more a mutter but Jason was close enough to you not that he heard it.
âWhatâs thatâs supposed to mean?â Jason questioned and he could feel his heart breaking into pieces through his throat.
âMaybe you should fucking know why Iâm pissed. But you donât. Did you ever consider that is the problem, Jay?â
It was not that you were even mad. It was that you were worried about him. You'd just cleaned up a few really nasty cuts again and that was fine. You didn't mind. He always did it for you, too. It was part of the job. It was how frequent it happen and how nonchalant he always was about the whole damn thing. It terrified you and you'd told him over and over. He was normally a good listener but...not when it came to this. And it hurt.
âYou were fine earlier! Now youâre not?!â Jason looked to the ceiling in frustration. âI am not a damn mind reader!â
You nearly pulled your hair out. âI am not asking to be a mind reader!â You screamed back at him as tears burned your eyes. âI am asking you to fucking listen to me!â
âI do listen--â
âNo! I get it.â You caved, bringing your voice back down but it is far more in frustration. âI get what you do. I am not asking you to give it up. I am asking you to be careful.â The last few words had come out as a plea and the fury and annoyance Jason had disappeared.
âThatâs just part of the job.â Jason tried to defend softly this time.
âWe both know you can be more careful, Jay.â You said it so candidly that Jason felt guilty for not trying harder. You were right. âUhâŚI, uh, I had a nightmare a few nights ago.â You confessed. âAnd, uh, it was about you. And Iâve been thinking about it ever since because it felt really real. And then todayâŚit justâŚâ You shook your head. âThis has beenâŚthe best year of my life.â You admitted as your chin started to wrinkle and your bottom lip quivered. âBecause of you so I thinkâŚabout losing you and I feel like I canât breathe.â
Jason almost felt frozen because he couldn't tell where this was going to go and he wasnât sure where he wanted it to go. The only thing he did know was that he didn't want you worrying so much about him and he felt guilty for putting it on you.
âI know itâs part of the job.â You nodded easily. âI know. I do it, too. But that doesn't make it hurt any less.â You admitted. âAnd I justâŚI wish you would be a little bit more careful because I love you.â
Everything froze for Jason. The idea of being loved is almost something he had chased for so long, he never thought heâd get it. He always chased it only to bite it when it comes close to him. Itâs scary. The idea of someone loving him and him loving someone else. What if he fucks it up like heâs done to everything else? He couldn't believe he hadnât fucked this up yet. Youâve clocked him self-sabotaging a few times, he hadnât in a while but you caught it. You swore he never needed to because you liked him for him. You didnât care about the dark and scary shit inside his head or the things heâd done. That never mattered to you because he is kind and a good person. He never could believe it but he chose to trust you anyway. And now he was standing here and he had no idea what to do because he could run but the idea of that made him want to burn through the floor.
âWhat?â Jason finally got out.
âI love you.â You said it again, honestly. It wasn't really how you wanted to tell him. You knew you would eventually but Jason can be a little skittish so you only wanted to do it when you thought he was ready to hear it. You were not sure if he was ready but you couldn't hide it from him anymore. âItâs okay if you donât feel that way.â You nodded your head even if you didnât think that was the problem. âOr if youâre unsure if you can say it. I justâŚI wanted to tell you so maybeâŚâ You had let out a breath. âYouâll know why I worry and I want you to be more careful. I know thatâŚthis might not go the way we want in the end butâŚI just want you to try.â
He thought he didnât deserve you. He did not deserve that sort of kindness or care or worry but you offered it so easily. You offered it to him as if it was the same as taking a breath. You offered an understanding with it. Itâs something even Jason didnât think about much, you being the one that didnât make it home. He pushed it away because he felt like he might fall into the center of the earth if that would happen. It would be earth-shattering to him if it were you. You were at least careful when you would go on patrol and he did think that would help, to know you tried to come home to him. It is not fair to not offer you the same deal.
Jason closed the distance between you and you didnât think heâd say it back which was okay. It would hurt but he had told you so much. Ever since that night months ago when you asked about his childhood, he had told you so much. You knew about being homeless and the things he has witnessed even as a child. You knew. You knew the horrors he had encountered through his life and if it were you, you weren't so sure you would offer those words. But just because he may not be able to say them, did not mean he did not deserve to know how you felt. That did not mean he did not deserve to know people loved him and they wanted him to stay alive. It would hurt but you thought itâd be fine because you knew he loved you.
âIâm sorry, princess.â Jason stated, his voice rough and honest as a hand came to your cheek. His thumb rubbed over your cheek as you nodded against him. âIâll be careful.â He stated. âI didnât know.â He admitted.
âI know.â You started back, eyes locked on his. They were red and his eyes were a deep shade of blue like he was on the verge of bursting into tears. âThatâs why I told you.â
âPromise, Iâll be more careful out there.â Jason nodded down at you. âI, uhâŚâ Jason pulled in a breath. âI love you, too.â He said carefully but honestly as a gentle smile came to your face.
âWas hoping you did.â You nodded back at him. âIâm sorry for getting so mad. Just worry.â
âItâs okay.â Jason pulled you into him, his arms engulfing you. âI know you worry. Iâm sorry for yelling back.â Jason apologized, placing a kiss to your head.
âCan we just get takeout?â You let out a soft laugh, looking up to him. âWe can eat and watch some bad reality TV.â
Jason let out a laugh. âWhat food were you feeling?â
----
A sob rips through Jasonâs throat, clawing its way into the cold of Gothamâs air. His legs give out before he can catch a breath and he collapses onto the pavement of the roof. It all hurts. Every piece of his body is aching and crashing like it never should have made it this far. His arms and legs shake as he turns to rest his back against the ledge. He pulls his legs to his chest as his face becomes soaked in his own tears. His lungs start to burn with every sob as he canât get a full breath in. The world around him starts to spin and it all hurts. Why does it have to hurt so much? He loves you and he will always love you and it will always be painful.
----
Lightning ripped through the sky and you were handling yourself as you always did. You were good on your own. But that night, five days ago, was different. It was different because it was not some big bad that would be the cause. All of that was going so well. It was a simple mistake. Wrong timing. An accident.
Jason had been fighting one of the goons, a nasty fistfight. The goon had some sort of training. Jason was confident, heâd beat him he put up a hell of a fight. It was a hell of a fight until it turned more brutal, getting more physical with punches and kicks, the goon picking Jason up and trying to throw him across the lot. It was getting messy while you were dealing with one of the metas. You were throwing lightning bolts as fast as you could manage while minding where Jason was. It should have been fine because youâd done this before. But, Jason tripped.
He tripped over something left on the ground and that gave the goon enough of a gap to grab him. When he was grabbed, Jason was thrown right into a pile of glass and metal just as you were throwing a lightning bolt in that direction at the meta. You missed Jason but you hit the reflective metals, sending the bolt back to you.
You went down immediately and Jason stopped breathing. The goon and meta took off while Jason was back on his feet, rushing over to you. Panic had flooded his body in that exact instant. You went down hard and the lightning threw you back. He knew.
He pulled your body into his lap, checking for a pulse and trying to feel if you were breathing only to find nothing. His hands were shaking so bad he could barely hold you in his lap.
He called your name with a tremble of his voice. âCome on, you gotta wake up.â He said it quietly, trying to keep himself together, desperately still trying to find a pulse. âWake up.â He said it more sternly that time as he shook your head lightly.
You were lifeless in his lap and he was at a loss. What is he supposed to do?!
He moved to put your back on the ground and he started CPR before he used the comms to get ahold of Oracle. He told her what happened as he performed CPR, desperate to bring you back to him. You had to come back, right? It was your own lightning bolt. How can you be killed by your own powers? That sounds like such a rip-off. And Jason bit his sobs back because it shouldnât have been you. It couldn't be you. It was supposed to be him because he needed to be more careful. He didnât have powers. He already died before. He put a bomb in his helmet. It was supposed to be him to go first but you were not breathing.
You wouldn't breathe.
He tried and he tried until the other bats started showing to offer some help. He tried and tried and tried and it wasnât good enough because the lightning was too much and he was clumsy. He fucking tripped and he slipped and that was it. It led you to getting hurt. It led you to getting killed. It is all his fault.
----
Jasonâs hands cover his face as he keeps sobbing, nausea filling his stomach. His stomach is in agonizing pain and he canât bear to even attempt to pull himself together. What is he supposed to do? Itâs his fault. He can never forgive himself for it and he knows it. You deserved better and he should have just said no three years ago. Had he just turned you down, youâd be alive and off somewhere living your life. Had he just been more careful. It doesnât matter that everyone has tried to convince him it wasnât his fault because he always sees it that way. And he misses you.
He wakes up and he misses you and thatâs if he can even get any damn sleep. He wakes up and he misses you and he tries to eat and he misses you. Bruce comes over to check on him and he misses you. He sees some of your stuff littered over his apartment and he misses you. His entire chest feels like it might cave right in every single second of every day. Itâs as if he is dragging his feet from one minute to the next with no real destination or desire. He moves because he has no choice. He just wants the pain to stop. He wants you back. You didnât deserve to die.
How he is ever supposed to move on from this? From you?
The memories he once looked back on are now tainted with pain. And that is the only thing he has left of you. What is he supposed to do?
How is he supposed to live with the pain of losing you?
Hands rest on Jasonâs knees, gentle and soft, gathering Jasonâs attention. Jasonâs own sobs were so loud, he entirely missed the presence of another person coming onto the roof with him and he missed the sound of footsteps approaching and then stopping in front of him. He missed it all and not a single part of him even cares. But, he looks up anyway and his breath catches in his throat as his eyes widen. How?
âJay?â Your voice is quiet and broken with the sight of him.

How to Leave Comments on Fanfiction
So, I recently made a poll to know if people might find it helpful to have a list of things they could talk about when leaving comments on fanfictions, be it on Ao3 or on here. A majority of people were interested in seeing the post so, well, I'm making it. I started writing and posting stuff online when I was a teenager, on a website where leaving constructive criticism was the norm. It's by far the place where I've gotten the most feedback and it was an incredibly formative experience for me as a young writer â and it taught me how to leave detailed comments.
Writing comments doesn't necessarily come easy. It's something that you may need to learn how to do, but the good news is that you can learn how to do it, so don't worry if you don't know what to say at first. Hopefully this list will give you some pointers on how to do that.
This is more or less the list I go through when I want to leave a detailed comment. Even if I don't have a specific idea at first, I'll go through the steps and I never come out empty-handed.
Comment etiquette:
What became apparent with the poll I made was that a lot of people worry about how they'll be perceived by the writers if they leave a comment. Now, obviously, writers aren't a monolith, but 99% of the time writers will be thrilled that you took the time to leave a comment to let them know what you enjoyed in their fic. I cannot stress this enough. We're not going to judge someone based on a positive comment they leave.
As it stands, on Tumblr and Ao3, it's seen as rude to leave negative feedback, unless the author has explicitly asked for it/agreed to it, so that's what I'll be going over here. Since quite a few writers did say on that post that they would like to get constructive comments as well, stay tuned, I'm trying to get something together to do that for authors. Other than that, you're good to go.
The main ways to let an author know your thoughts on a fic on Tumblr are:
reblogging a fic with your thoughts underneath it
reblogging with your thoughts in the tags, which is often less formal
leaving a comment as a 'reaction'
sending in an ask if they're activated on the blog (which means you can stay anonymous, if anon asks are allowed)
Reblogging means that your followers will see the post as well, and is therefore really appreciated on Tumblr.
As a note, you may find different systems work for different fics! Maybe leaving tag rambles works for you when commenting on drabbles, for example for me it's the system I use to leave comments on smut.
General advice:
Everything I'm saying in here is for people who want to be able to leave longer/more detailed comments and don't always know where to start. If, for whatever reason, you're not comfortable or you don't have time to do it at the moment, a simple "I love the fic, thank you for writing it" always goes a long way for an author.
The key thing to keep in mind if you're trying to find something else to say, I think, is to try making the comment specific to the fic you're leaving it on. It shows the writer what you took away from the fic and the fic's strong points, which is both meaningful and helpful to an author.
Comments don't have to be long to be meaningful. Don't stress about writing a ton; a one-sentence comment highlighting the fic's humor or how emotional it made you can be incredibly impactful.
With this out of the way, I'll go through things you can talk about in a comment, starting with what I think is the easiest and moving on to things that could require more thought. You don't have to do all of that. You may never use some of the things on that list. Leaving comments should not be a source of anxiety. So take what you want from the list, maybe come back to it if you need more inspiration, and don't worry too much about it :)
Favorite line(s) : pull from the fic to let the author know what your favorite line was. If you wish, you can expand on that by saying why it was your favorite: did it make you laugh? Did it make you feel something specific? Did the author nail the characterization with it? Was there some incredible metaphor? Did you find it beautiful or poetic even if you can't go into detail? Is there one line in particular at the beginning of the fic that hooked you in and made you want to keep reading?
All of that is very valuable for a writer to know. Some of my favorite comments I've gotten were a list of a reader's favorite lines from a fic with one or two sentences to explain why they liked them, so don't hesitate to do that more than once if you can!
Emotions: Â if thereâs one thing I know about writers, itâs that weâre thrilled when weâve made you cry. So tell us: how did the writing make you feel? Did you laugh out loud? If you did, was it the dialogue, or the narrator? Did it make you cry? Which part? Could you relate to one of the characters? Did it make you feel seen? Did the fluff make you feel all fuzzy inside or did the angst twist knots in your stomach? This isn't an exhaustive list, and emotions are great to draw from when you're leaving a comment!
Favorite element of the writing: Is there one thing in the writing that struck you as being particularly good, or what was your favorite thing to read? Is the author a master at writing dialogue? Are their descriptions so good you could see the whole scene? Are they really good at getting in a character's head and describing their emotions? Were you hooked from the start and couldn't stop until you reached the end?
Characterization: Now, this might be less instinctive, but if you've been in a fandom for a while, you'll probably be able to identify these things fairly easily. You can tell the author if you think they've nailed one aspect of a character. Did you have a favorite character in the fic? What did you think of them? Did the author manage to capture their voice? Was the attitude spot-on? Which parts of the character, if you can name them? Were there aspects of the character you particularly enjoyed? Did the author shine a light on something you hadn't considered or on something you don't think is highlighted often enough? Is there one thing from the fic you can actually picture/hear a character doing/saying in your head?
Style: I'd argue this is the hardest part, and you shouldn't feel bad if it's not something you can really comment on. As someone whose first language isn't English, I know I struggle with it. Style can be perceived as the way the author's voice comes through in the text. It can come through in punctuation, in the way sentences are formed, in the choice of the words themselves. If, when you read, you feel something intangible that doesn't fit well in the other categories, it just might be the author's style.
Here are some things (non-exhaustive list, of course) you could say about an author's style: it can be direct, straight to the point. The author doesn't bother with ornaments. Every sentence feels impactful. Maybe the writing feels intense. You're overwhelmed by the characters and their feelings and you feel truly engulfed in the story. Maybe the style is light and airy. It's so easy to read you don't even notice you are reading. Maybe the writing is intricate. Going through it is like piecing a puzzle together, sentences are foreshadowing and metaphors reveal deep truths about the characters. Maybe the style is rich. While not always the easiest, it's a pleasure to read through it, the author has a wide vocabulary, and you might want to compare it to a well-written novel.
If you identify specific elements of that style (metaphors, interesting use of punctuation, etc.), don't hesitate to point them out and let the author know you enjoy them!
That is it for this post, hopefully it doesn't look too daunting â again, you absolutely do not need to do all that in any comment, but maybe going through this list can help you leave comments for authors you enjoy.
I like to end my comments with 'Thank you for writing and sharing this with us', so I'll tell you thank you for reading, I hope this was helpful, and please consider reblogging if you'd like to save this or if you think it could help someone else!
As a bonus, my friend @elidebrey and I (but mostly her) made a 'checklist' for commenting, to help remember all this if that's something you'd like, so use at will!
A big thank you to @elidebrey, @yoongihan and @antoniorhinothethird for their precious opinions on this âĽ

Hi I'm new to your blogâ¤ď¸it's nice to see more peaky blinders fans.
I see you're taking request:
Tommy Shelby has a wife who's very shy. The family is still very mind blown about it
Hi there! thank you so much for the request! I hope this is alright, I'm a little unsure of it but I gave it a go!
Word Count: 1231
Shy
âThey donât like me TommyâŚI just know it.â You expressed to your new husband as you rode into Small Heath.Â
You and Tommy were on your way to meet the rest of the Shelbyâs at the Garrison tonight. It was Tommyâs birthday and Polly had planned a party at the Pub.Â
You and Tommy had been married now for just a few short months. You had been arranged to marry Tommy when your family, the Leeâs, and the Shelbyâs needed to join forces and end a long feud. You and Tomâs marriage was very much an economic proposition. You had always understood this. You hadnât planned on marrying someone you actually loved and cared for anyways.Â
Your mother, Zilpha Lee, had prepped you for this day. Marrying someone you family had chosen for you. When you first met Tommy on the wedding day, you were quite intimidated by his presence.Â
Now, you and Tommy had been married for a few months, and to your surprise, you both had grown quite fond of each other. You didnât know if he was someone you could fall in love with, but he was the closest you had ever gotten to that feeling. He took care of you and spent time with you. You felt safe with him. You had shared interests, so it wasnât hard to be around each other. It meant the world to you, but it also surprised you as well. He seemed like a cold man at first, but he had much more to offer under the hard exterior than what you expected.Â
âLove, what would give you the impression that they donât like you? They barely know you. Just be yourselfâŚlike how you are around me, eh? I like you, so why wouldnât they?â He asked you as you both stood outside of the Garrison doors.Â
He made it sound as if it was no big deal that you were going to be spending time with his family. It was a big deal to you! You weren't good at talking to people really. You were quite shy and unsure of yourself sometimes, which was odd since you were now a Shelby. None of them were like you. They knew who they were and werenât afraid of anything, it seemed like. But you tried to trust your husband, he usually proved you right.
You inhaled deeply and exhaled, straightening out the tight pink dress you had worn, worried if it was too much to for the Pub. Tommy eyed you down, seemingly knowing exactly what you were thinking.Â
He turned to face you and took your hands to hold in his, forcing you to face him. He was so beautiful that it was almost annoying. His dark brown hair fluttered in the cool breeze. His sharp features softened under your gaze.
âLetâs go in, have a drink, and if my sister doesnât snatch you away from me immediately, we will stay together. Relax, love. These people are your family too now.â He said to you, making you feel a bit more heard. You gave him a reassuring smile. Â
Suddenly, John drunkenly stumbled through the double doors, giggling.Â
âOi, Brother! Happy Birthday Tommy!â He huffed out, trying his best not to fall over.Â
âYes, thank you John boy!â Tommy chuckled, giving him a firm pat and grip to his shoulder. John then turned to you and smiled widely.
âWell good evening Mrs. Shelby! Weâve been waitinâ for yaâ all night! May I? He asked you loudly as he extended his arm out as a gesture for you to take it and allow him to escort you inside.Â
You looked at Tommy for some type of approval. He smiled softly and nodded, throwing you into the lions den.
Without thinking, you wrapped your arm around Johnâs and he grinned with satisfaction.
Tommy followed behind you as John led you into the bar and to the room on the right to you. As you entered, you were greeted by all of Tommyâs siblings and his Aunt Polly. You suddenly felt dread creep up your spine as all of the intimidating faces studied you and Tommy.Â
Along with family, you were approached by several men you didnât really know, but they were around Tommy often. The swarm of people had you feeling overwhelmed. You didnât expect all of these people to be here. You tried to keep your eyes down in order to avoid conversation with any of them.Â
' love! Comeâon, letâs get you a drink, yeh?â Polly asked you over the loud voices that surrounded the both of you. Before you could respond, she took your wrist and pulled you gently to the table away from the crowd of men. Ada was sitting there too. Â
You slowly sat down in the booth by Ada.Â
âUhm...thank you, I felt a little out of place over there.â You chuckled, looking at Polly for the first time tonight. She had very smart eyes. You had met them both just once before at the wedding.Â
âYouâll get used to having the load of fuckaâs around. Theyâre not so bad though.â She smiled out as she poured you a glass of whiskey. You thanked her and threw it back quickly, needing to relax. Â
You tried to think of something, anything to say, but you couldnât think of anything. Thankfully, Ada chimed in.Â
âYouâre quite shy, arenât you?â She asked and you shuddered.Â
Sighing loudly, you took it upon yourself to pour another drink and down it again.
âIts that obvious then?â You laughed.Â
âOh no, course not! WellâŚyes, actually. We just arenât used to the women in this family to be soft spoken, love. We sure as hell arenât. But donât ever feel like ya need to be either, alright?â Polly said as Ada smiled in your direction, extending a soft squeeze to your hand as a gesture to reassure you.
You immediately started to soften, feeling a bit more at ease now that the elephant in the room had been addressed. Yes, you were quite shy and soft spoken at times, but now you felt a bit more understood, in a way.
âThank you bothâŚIâm sure Iâll find my voice soon enough around all of you, yeh?â You asked them, half-jokingly.Â
They both smiled at each other and then back at you.Â
After a little while longer of getting to know Ada and Polly, Tommy came to finally join you at the table. You were having such a good time that you nearly forgot Tommy was in the room with you. He slid into the booth gracefully, wrapping his arm around your shoulder. He looked in your direction and gave a devilish grin, a cigarette hanging from his peachy lips. His two brothers followed behind, sitting in the chairs across from you both.
âHaving fun?â Tommy looked down at you, tilting his head.
You responded by stealing the cigarette from his lips to plant a soft kiss onto him. This left a surprised look on his face. He wouldnât have ever expected you to be so affectionate towards him in public, but you felt much more comfortable than before. Maybe it was just the whiskey though.Â
By the end of the party, you forgot all about the nerves you felt at the beginning of the night. John and Arthur made you laugh harder than you ever had before. You were louder than usual, more talkative than you ever thought you could be. It all started to just feel natural, like they really were your family. You felt a bit more like yourself after that night.
