When media only represented lgbt people as sassy and promiscuous, everyone cried for more wholesome stories. Now that the norm is wholesome falling in love stories, people are demanding kinks again.

Girl, your enemy isn't one or the other. Your enemy is The Single Narrative and pretending that either representation is Bad is a fool's game.

Just because something is more prevalent at the moment doesn't make it inherently bad. It's perfectly good to represent that parts of the experience. We just need to recognise that we need to start diversifying our stories when one particular narrative starts becoming too prevalent, instead of declaring one thing Bad Representation and going into the exact opposite camp to show how Not That we are. If that's the only attitude we have, then we risk making this new Opposite the only new narrative.

Prevalent depictions tend to come in waves of reactions to things happening in society but also very much in relation to previous depictions. You see this not just inside LGBT narratives but also in media representation of racial stereotypes, focus on masculine and feminen tendencies in fashion history, etc.

Lately though, I've been seeing posts getting more and more hostile towards the Previous Representation as if it's that experience's fault for existing - such as lgbt people who "pass straight" vs "incredibly queercoded", narratives of people who want to heal troubled family relations and a general tendency for creative work (especially in writing prompts) to just take one trope and inverting it, then calling that the peak of creativity, even when there's not necesarrily any bottomline thought to what this new story is trying to say beyond "being the opposite".

That's not to say any one person who wants to try turning tropes on their heads are inherently Problematic or anything of the sort, but it's worth examining if one representation makes that representation inherently problematic, or just in need of more diversity.

More diversity than just pointing at the opposite camp and making that the new norm until we're all sick to death of that one. Lest we just repeat the same cycle without creating actual diverse representation; Or even worse, start creating the idea that the beautiful, multi-faceted experience that is the LGBT community as a whole just falls into new binaries of experiences than just sex and preference.

Ok, so this is a question that's been bugging me for a really long time. Do you think its fine, for us as Christians, to make/headcanon fictional characters as LGBTQ+? I ask this because there are a lot of other things in fiction that we(just Christians in general) interact with, that isn't Christian, and I wanted to know if this was a similar case. Sorry if this is hard to read; I struggle with putting thought into words.

i used to make many LGBTQ characters, both for variety’s sake and for my own interests and views. but now as i get closer to the Lord and learn about HIS views, i would say this: what is the purpose of the characters you’re making?

as Christian artists and writers, there is something more important than variety and personal interest. and that is bringing glory to the Lord. making a wide range of characters is good and important; it helps people connect with your story. but if they’re portrayed to support something that God doesn’t support, then consider what the message of the project is. is it to support that group or that set of morals, or is it to shine the light of Jesus?

i’m not saying LGBTQ characters never have a place in a story, but think about what you want people to take away from your work. our talents are gifts from God, so we have a responsibility with the influence we have through our creations.

Listen, it's that time of the year again! The biannual bullshit in the form of 10 hours over the course of two days called the Mormon General Conference has begun and I'm forced to watch since I'm a PIMO Mormon (physically in, mentally out). This means a bit of an interruption to my usual writing, fandom, Tomarry, Legend of Zelda, and general gay shenanigans.

However, this is the first time where I'm emotionally and spiritually in a powerful, stable place and I'm officially unaffected by these talks. (I still like to bitch about them, tho, haha) They don't wound me like they have done before. They hold no power over me now. I remember how deeply affected and spiritually wounded I felt in April 2022, weeks before my "shelf" would break and my faith finally deconstructed to its end. But even General Conferences afterwards, I would still feel sickened by the talks.

I'm free of their spiritual shackles on my heart and soul.

I'm sorry, but it's become glaringly obvious that these men have nothing truly good to say. When you're in it, you don't see just how vapid and empty their words are. There's nothing of substance. There are no solutions. No. Reading scriptures and praying and "following the covenant path" are NOT solutions.

These men have no power and no authority. They are too old to make true change, just like the politicians in our government. We're taught they have the power of god, but they don't. Sorry, gentlemen, but you're nothing in comparison to my own uterus, which ACTIVELY wants to kill me. I don't fear you. I have no fears. You are weak in the face of my unwavering strength and peace as an unbeliever, who has no absolute answers about the nature of life and death.

I have peace you can't comprehend.

After all, if there is an afterlife where we must face our actions with our fellow humankind, I'm confident in my personal integrity. I am filled with sass, but I am kind and loving. Those who know me know this.

You... however... there is need for concern.

After all...

Where is your integrity when you protect and hide the vast variety of abusers?

Where is your integrity when you actively suppress women, demoting their status to ONLY wives and mothers?

Where is your integrity when you hate and turn on your LGBTQ+ siblings and deny them access to your heaven?

Where is your integrity when you lie and hide the dark truths of the origins of Mormonism?

Where is your integrity when you point blank lie about the wealth accumulated, to the point the American government FINED you for it?

Where is your integrity when you use that wealth to buy commercial properties?

Where is your integrity in the lack of building homeless shelters, schools, parks, or whatever could enrich and protect the local communities?

Where is your integrity when you spend millions of dollars on gilded temples in favor of the dead when the living sit homeless, exposed to the elements and without food, in the streets a block from those doors?

True integrity is a strength of self. My integrity demands of me to call out the bullshit and the lies; it tells me to remain calm in face of those who refuse to see my true heart, who claim that I am the one without light. I remain unaffected when those I love lash out at me because I no longer align with their thoughts and beliefs.

If you cannot see my heart, then it's clear you're the blind one.

"Christian kindness is not a substitute for integrity."

This is a contradicting statement. True integrity cannot be without kindness and love. No kindness? No integrity. No exceptions.

True integrity is NOT where you avoid "criticizing the doctrine or the culture" or the leadership in Mormonism.

As an android, they are the beings considered the least capable of change. But even in this Hayden surprises everyone! Thanks to the Double Ripple effect, they aren't restricted or chained to a single set of personality traits, but develop a fluidity in their reactions over time. Their curiosity and desire to question makes them even more open to change and to carving their own identity! Which is why they are so open to adapting, even more than many humans in the series!

Any work is welcome – fics, art, edits, moodboards, interactive media, headcanons, meta, even screenshots of your favourite scenes! Our only requirements are that the works are original (nothing AI generated), and they center Hayden and present a positive depiction of them.

It is not necessary to put up your works only on the day of the theme – you can always put it up later. We will also be keeping a bonus week in case you’re not able to complete it during the week itself (till Oct 10th).

I don’t speak Japanese so I’d LOVE to hear more about the differences between the English and Japanese Re:Zero fandoms

yeah sure its very interesting to me now that ive noticed it more lately :o !! though ok disclaimer - i dont speak japanese either hah so if anyone is seeing this and does speak japanese + is familiar with the japanese speaking side of this fandom please add info if youd like!! and of course ill be mainly speaking from the english side of things bc im more familiar with that yes (sorry anon again im not a japanese speaker T^TT so sorry if i tread on info you already know!!). but yeah im speaking from my own experiences given the Topic at hand. ive been in this fandom since... 2019?? which is so wild to me aljsdfljsd.

anyway so - i think the big difference is mainly that the english fandom and many english speaking people that engage with rezero are. to put it bluntly, misconception runs Rampant to a very Interesting degree. to the point where it seems like the english speaking side of the fandom is More. Aggressive. than the japanese fandom. not that the japanese speaking side of the fandom is perfect - also bc what fandom is ever perfect 100% of the time, tbh - but that the louder people in the english rezero fandom are. well its a Very low bar. Very low. and from what little ive seen and heard so far, the japanese fandom tends to understand rezero and its characters better than the english fandom. which ig makes sense bc you know, rezero is japanese media, and also im sure cultural differences come into play here as well (im not familiar enough on this to speak about it in depth but the cultural differences feel Pretty Clear even though i cant 100% put my finger on what they specifically are).

but also bc yeah. its not That hard to beat some of the english fandom when it comes to media comprehension. misreading rezero is unfortunately Extremely common, both in and out of the rezero community. its Everywhere - youtube, myanimelist, ao3, ff.net, reddit, twitter, various rezero discords - and from what ive experienced, rezero tumblr basically kind of feels like finding an oasis after crawling through the desert for days on end lajdslfjs. which is probs bc rezero tumblr is Smaller and also a lot of us seem to be lgbtq+ in some way or be allies, so you dodge a lot of the misogyny and homophobia that happens in other rezero english circles. its why you see a lot of openly queer rezero-related posts on here while its a bit more. barren. in other rezero english places yes. bc its more safe to post queer rezero things on rezero tumblr rather than rezero reddit for Sure.

im not sure how the japanese fandom is with that exactly but theres some interesting differences between whats popular in the english fandom vs the japanese fandom. i mean as an otto fan ive been noticing how hes more popular with the japanese fandom—and on top of that, ottosuba is Way More popular in the japanese fandom too. reinsuba and julisuba seem to usually be the most popular mlm subaru ships in both fandoms but ottosuba is like A Little Up There in the japanese fandom. not sure if its on the same level as a ship like reinsuba but ottosubas Definitely loved as a ship. from what little ive seen it also seems like ships like vichisha are more acknowledged by the japanese fandom? im not entirely sure on like—Complete differences regarding what the japanese fandom finds interesting that may differ from english fandom, so ill really have to look more into the japanese fandoms fanart and fanfic when i can bc im pretty curious too. in general though, it seems like the japanese fandom has a bit more variety…. you can find fanart on So Many characters in rezero (which already has a very Massive cast full of very fleshed out characters) there. not that you cant in the english fandom bc theres a Bit of variety too, but id more so contribute that a little more to the Big Cast and less to having actual variety in fancontent. and of course im not saying that the japanese fandom may be a bit barren in some areas of fancontent—bc inevitably when u have a big cast of characters, side character content is gonna be more sparse compared to the main characters, but to me it does feel like the english fandom lacks variety in comparison. (and also yeah. seems like the japanese fandom acknowledges gay ships more in general tbh.)

whats focused in fancontent makes it easy to tell what may be popular in a fandom in terms of how fans perceive the source material and what fandoms want to do with the source material, if that makes sense. and its very easy to tell that with the english fandom if you just hop on rezero ao3–or even better, rezero reddit given theres a fanfic ideas thread thats usually pinned right at the top of the site. again i havent looked at japanese fanfic for rezero yet (bc i dont know where to look oops ajdndn) but when it comes to the english fandom you can tell that theyre generally more focused on the female cast both in fanart and in fanfic bc. theyre women and many fans on say, reddit or various rezero discords, are cis straight men, so inevitably… well lets just say you can tell when a man makes content for this fandom o.o theres also the. very weird reaction fic trends and trends following popular fics in the fandom, the two biggest being the watching him die again and again react fic and re:forgotten, the former of which includes a harem plot with subaru and the main girls of rezero while the latter is one of those subaru gets tortured by his ooc friends and then he gets revenge on them fics. which i suppose says something about the english fandom too.

of course on ao3 its dominated mainly by english fics (of course not all fics on there for rezero are in english— big shoutout to all the non english fics on rezero ao3 ur doing great <3 — but the majority are in english). and while yeah ur occasionally gonna find stuff like queer content or side character content or rarepair content, its definitely not that big in amount and also comes with the risk of. Hate. if anyones reading this and remembers the lone star stuff. (if u dont know—lone star was a julius x emilia fic where they NTR subaru or some shit and then it got bombed with hate bc of the ship? yeah.) so yeah english fandom is very cis straight oriented, ironically with the nastiest people being the very people that rezero criticizes. though this is also my personal experience, i do know several people personally whove been in this fandom for a while or were here for a while and yeah english fandom isnt very welcoming at times???? and it seems like at the very least the japanese fandom is A Little Less Aggressive than the english fandom is.

otherwise. yeah im very very curious about more of the differences in popular content between the japanese vs english fandom. i mean the english fandom’s main focus on the female cast for. Interesting Reasons other than their actual character depth is… interesting. and the astreas being popular in general vs otto + ottosubas popularity fluctuating is also very interesting to me (but i have several guesses as to Why that is), among other things. yeah id love to know what else the japanese fandom likes about rezero and see more of their content. i also have to wonder if characters like emilia and subaru are hated less by the japanese fandom…. T^T well that and the english fandom and many english speaking people engaging in rezero have this interesting pattern of either hating subaru No Matter What, wanting subaru to Not Be Subaru (ie using him as a self insert almost or attempting to change him into virtually another character), or putting subaru on a pedestal and ignoring his flaws and mistakes and that he Can do wrong. like theres Really not a lot of nuance there. so i wonder if the japanese fandom is. A Little more chill when it comes to character opinions like this too.

Hello, and welcome to my little corner of Hell! You can call me Venus, I'm not new to this hellsite by any means and I finally decided it was time to carve out the niche in the Star Wars fandom that I always dreamed of someone else making.

On this blog, I will be posting various headcanons, blurbs, quotes, fanart, possibly fanfictions of my own writing, all relating to what I consider to be my favorite ships, including rare pairings and a variety of ships that I think I came up with because I am single IRL and would really rather not be.

I personally write a ridiculous amount of self-indulgent fanfiction that I don't post anywhere and only write for my own enjoyment, but my preferred pairings and AUs are very rarely anywhere near canon. I always hoped there were more people with uncommon interests in the fandom, but after years of no luck, I've made the decision to find them myself, or convert some people...

I'm curious about Kit Fisto x Aayla Secura x Commander Bly, but I haven't actually explored it much, so if you've got any thoughts or favorite fan works, feel free to send them my way!

These are the ships that I currently find myself interested in and writing about, but I'm open to hearing about what other people might like, my only boundaries are non-familial/platonic ships between clones, that's not my cup of tea, and any Master/Padawan ships, something I'm not interested in and would prefer to not engage with, you do you, of course.

I also enjoy at least two AUs, one that I believe pre-dates my use of it and the other is a very common one: Sith AU (Duh) and Victory Ball AU (In which the Clone War ends in a Republic-Jedi victory and things are all made right, Palpatine will always die, usually in increasingly hilarious or vengeful ways, depending on how my day went)

I am a SUCKER for the Soulmate trope/AU, and if anyone ever wants my thoughts on a specific ship being soulmates, ask! I will gladly babble my nonsense to any who wish to hear it!

I will forewarn that I am likely to post about ships + reader, for example, I'm already planning for my first real post to be a Quinfox x reader headcanon, so if you're like me and are polyamorous or LGBTQ+ in another way, you're welcome to send things in too! There's room for everyone around here, my little deal is that no one can be harmed and it can't be an illegal relationship (Examples include but are not limited to: Non-Con, incest, underage/of age partners, abusive dynamics/themes, coercion,) in our standards. Cuda doesn’t use his mouth to speak, instead shapes like him have a specialized organ in their chests that vibrates to produce the sound of a voice. Since they are not limited by a voice box or the shape of a mouth, however, they can mimic almost any sound they hear. Cuda in particular is also incredibly good at mimicking other shapes’ voices

Monstercats (Blix’s species) only come in pink, with the exception of a very small percentage of blue monstercats. These are always biological females, and are often referred to as dragons due to having more dragon-like traits. Male monstercats that are blue are either hybrids or trans!

On the topic of monstercats, males are natural himbos. Flowers need decent sunlight in early childhood to develop properly. Lack of sunlight during that time period often leads to stunted physical and mental development.

Paradise also has a wide array of deities. The Tree is seen as the queen of them all, being the creator figure and the most powerful, but there are many other lesser deities, including Macabre, said to guide shapes out of caves and souls into the afterlife. Meanwhile, as PRRI data released this week confirms (again), secular Americans resist Trump and the Christian Right’s preferred policies at disproportionate rates. And yet, elite media gatekeepers continue to view church attendance as a social good, and secularism as dangerous and possibly responsible for American polarization—a position that amounts to pernicious nonsense.

In the service of what Lee Leviter has aptly dubbed “the myth of Christian innocence,” for the last eight years journalists, commentators, and scholars who should know better have tried everything they can think of to distinguish “real” Christianity from bigotry and authoritarianism. They’ve drawn arbitrary lines where (ostensibly) “real” religion ends and “politics” begins; they’ve cherry-picked data; and they’ve engaged in outright wishful thinking that contradicts the available data. Heya, I'm Pollo (He/They) and I figured tumblr was as good a place as any to try and ask this. In short, I'm looking for an RP partner or two to dust off the rust and get back into writing.

I was born on forum RP but there doesn't appear to be much in the way of that nowadays--but I may be wrong. So, I figured I'd look in other places and here I am!

As a precursor, I'm only comfortable writing with those 18+, even if we aren't doing any nsfw rp. It's a comfort thing, esp as I enjoy exploring darker themes. For reference, I am 20+

Some things about me and my style:

I write semi-lit to lit usually giving a minimum 3 paragraphs a reply. I do not expect the same from you but would appreciate at least a paragraph per reply.

I write in third person and prefer to read it that way, but I can be flexible in this respect.

We all live busy lives so I absolutely do not expect super regular replies. I will at least endeavor to give a reply a day and will let you know if I will be dropping off the face of the earth for an amount of time.

In terms of story to smut ratio, I prefer a solid 70% story to 30% smut but this can be negotiated as per story needs.

I generally prefer one on one rps in private places (like discord) . I also mainly prefer MxM, NBxM, and NBxNB pairings (with the inclusion of trans and other lgbtq+ characters). Write what you know, you know?

On this (keeping it brief) most of my characters are switches and I would prefer to write them as such (not exclusively writing them as top or bottom). Variety is the spice of life.

I don't do fandom RP, sorry. I'm wholly interested in OC x OC and creating worlds that thrive with them.

I love angsty, smutty, dramatic stories. If it makes me hurt for my characters, we're golden. Moreover, I don't mind what genre we work in, though I prefer urban/modern fantasy as most of my characters fit that better.

The gaslighting on your account is unbelievable. Nick never speaks about Taylor or RWRB unless specifically asked and then he says as little as possible. It is more than obvious he thinks he is too good for a sequel, he is never positive about it. He interacts with all his old colleagues and friends online, but taylor, who is supposedly his good mate, he ignores all the time. even when taylor posts sincerely about his deceased sister or how he cannot believe he is at the oscars or the sags. I am not saying nick has to be bff with taylor, but to act as if he gives more to the rwrb fans than taylor is bull and you know it. He even insulted him by saying he liked anne and mary and george while ignoring the film that made him famous. just admit he is dismissive about taylor and the movie and the cast and crew. and admit he is using the LGBTQ community to get famous and now he does not care about it at all.

It’s not gaslighting. You’ve created a narrative and you cannot handle that reality says otherwise. That’s on you. Everything you say here is so far off base:

Nick has said positive things about the sequel. He doesn’t think he’s too good for the sequel; he wants the sequel to be good. He doesn’t want to take this special thing they made and do a worse version of it. There’s a difference. And other people should be on the same page as him about this.

Nick interacts sporadically with his colleagues and friends on Instagram. I’m sorry instagram is not as important as you think.

Whenever Nick is asked about working with Taylor, he talks about more than just working together or their chemistry. He talks about who he is a person. For example in that Variety interview he was asked what the chemistry read was like. That’s all. He answers and then goes on about Taylor: how warm and charismatic, and how smart and brilliant he was and how he understood the character. If you think saying that kind of thing to Variety goes unnoticed, you are mistaken. And even if it didn’t: I want my friends out there saying stuff like that about me! I would be so moved knowing that’s what they think of me.

And because you seem determined to prove Nick is so awful to Taylor let’s flip the script: how come Taylor has never praised Nick like that when he’s asked about him?

Honestly your points get more and more unhinged. Insulting him by saying he liked Anne and Mary and George? Using the LGBTQ community to get famous??

This toxic behaviour towards Nick and people want a sequel??? On what planet does that make sense?

pride month is by far one of benji's favorite months of the year, followed closely by october. being a part of the lgbtq+ community himself, he finds a lot of happiness in being able to celebrate this part of his identity. it hasn't always been the case that people who were lgbt were able to exist out in the open, so they've always felt grateful that they were born in this time period. he's even more delighted that a good amount of establishments in fenrir's wood have events going on for the month, one of which being his favorite coffee shop. the 0.15 cents extra seems like a small price to pay for a pride cup.

"it's such a cute idea, don't you think?" they ask another person in line, gesturing to the cups in a variety of pride flag designs. "and for only a couple extra cents too, what a steal! if the cups weren't made of paper i'd probably save them, i wish i'd thought of it. but you didn't bargain for a spiel about their pride promotion while waiting in line for coffee, did you? sorry, i'll shut up." there's a slight flush on his face as he realizes that he'd gone on a bit of tangent in his excitement.
