They walked back to the bar, with Carlisle closing the tab for the night and paying for the drinks, tipping 50% which made Celine bite her lip in excitement. After getting his card back, they rushed out of the building hand in hand. Carlisle noticed that Rosalie’s car was outside, a silent reminder of the watchful eyes of their family. He took Celine to his car, opening the passenger seat door and letting her enter the car
“I’ll be fast, I promise.” Carlisle whispered to Celine, who only nodded in response. He left a quick peck on her lips before rushing to Rosalie’s car. He knocked on the window, wondering why they were there
“Do not even think of doing something with her tonight.” Rosalie threatened immediately as the window was going down “You’ll hurt her.”
“I do not intend on bedding her while she has alcohol in her system.” He half-lied, knowing that the alcohol in Celine’s system is already almost gone. He could smell her blood slowly going back to its same alluring scent, hinting that she was slowly sobering up
“The rogue vampire is gone.” Alice informed him “Just don’t mind the scent in her place for the time being. It’s…sickening.”
“I’ll remember that.” Carlisle nodded “Are the others gone now?”
“Yes. I told them to leave after they’ve remove the vampire in her place.” Esme answered “Good luck, I think you’ll need it.”
“Go home.” Carlisle said, rolling his eyes at them and going back to his car, where Celine was waiting patiently
“What happened?” Celine asked, the scent of alcohol was still evident in her and Carlisle is having a hard time with just sitting still
“They decided to come to enjoy the night out, thankfully, we’re about to leave too.” He informed her, pulling the seatbelt from her side and buckling it, his eyes on her. He was looking at her face, admiring the features the gods have graced her with
“Is there anything on my face?” Celine asked consciously, about to look at herself in the vanity mirror in his car
“No, you’re just really, really beautiful.” Carlisle whispered softly before starting his car. A smile on his face as he drives back to her place
It was quiet, Carlisle was reaching for the gearshift when he accidentally touched Celine’s thighs. He heard her jolt up in shock making him quickly pull away from the gearshift, scared that he’s made her uncomfortable.
“It’s alright, I was just shocked.” Celine assured him
Her house was coming in sight. Alice wasn’t lying when she said that the scent was sickening. Carlisle couldn't ignore the scent that permeated the air. It was a nauseating mixture of alcohol, human blood, and the unmistakable stench of vomit. He’s happy that Celine couldn’t smell it, he’d rather save her of dealing with scents like these
Rosalie’s voice was echoing in her head “Do not even think of doing something with her tonight.” He could hear her threats. Carlisle understood that she meant well, and that she was right in this discussion. The memory of Edward's unintentional harm to Bella served as a stark reminder of the dangers inherent in their world.
‘What assurance did I have that I won’t do the same with Celine? What assurance did I have that I’ll be able to control myself?’ He thought, scared of seeing Celine hurt because of him
As Carlisle parked the car in front of Celine's house, a sense of resolve settled within him. He knew what needed to be done. With purposeful strides, he swiftly exited the car and made his way to the passenger seat, where Celine was just about to step out.
She grabbed his hand, pulling him into her house. Without hesitation, he allowed himself to be led, his steps quickening as they made their way into her bedroom. Carlisle lifted her up in his arms, cradling her bridal style as he carried her to the bed. Reaching her bed, Carlisle made him and Celine fall on the bed, a small ‘thud’ and a bounce getting them to giggle.
Celine positioned herself on his lap, pulling him closer for a kiss. It was deep, it was heavy, it was filled with desire. Her desire to feel him. She could feel him get harder, so she started slowly grinding. Carlisle pulled away, letting out a grunt before pulling her for another make out, only this time, his hands were exploring the curves of her body.
She took matters into her own hands, slowly removing his polo shirt, leaving a trail of kisses along his neck as she unbuckled his pants to lift the shirt over his head. Carlisle whimpered under her affectionate touch, his desire evident in every breath. With each kiss, Celine felt herself growing increasingly aroused. She pulled away, finally removing his top
“Need to please you.” Carlisle murmured as Celine’s hands were tracing down his torso, her eyes filled with seduction as he admires him. He wished that he had Edward’s powers at that moment to know what she was thinking about
‘What a masterpiece.’ Celine thought, seeing Carlisle's toned body. Her suspicion was right, he did take care of his physique, and she was blessed to see him like that
Carlisle gently laid Celine down and positioned himself over her, his hands delicately tracing the curves of her waist as he crawled onto the bed. With deliberate care, he began to play with the hem of her blouse, gradually removing it to grant himself greater access to her skin.
“You are divine. A masterpiece carved by the gods above.” Carlisle whispered, indulging himself as he left shallow bite marks on Celine's shoulders, his words an ode to her beauty. Each mark elicited soft whimpers of pleasure from her lips, igniting a symphony of desire between them
Carlisle tenderly explored Celine's shoulders and neck, marking her skin with gentle kisses that elicited moans of pleasure. With deliberate care, he trailed his fingers down to her legs, lifting her skirt and removing the barrier of her panties, eager to continue bestowing pleasure upon his beloved mate.
"Carlisle," Celine moaned softly, her plea laced with desire. "No teasing.”
"I have no intention of teasing you, my love," Carlisle assured, his fingers deftly caressing the growing wetness between Celine's thighs "I simply wish to savor every moment with you."
"Carlisle, please," Celine breathed out, her voice filled with urgency. Carlisle chuckled at her reaction; he hadn't even begun, yet Celine was already pleading
Carlisle gently slid two fingers inside her, giving Celine a moment to adjust to the sensation. She moaned, arching her back in response. Sensing her readiness and just how needy she already is, he abandoned his slow pace, opting instead to quicken the rhythm of his fingers thrusting in and out of her. Simultaneously, he brought his mouth to her clit, skillfully heightening her pleasure with each tantalizing touch.
"Carlisle," Celine breathed out, her racing heartbeat audible to him, indicating her nearing climax.
"Yes, my love?" Carlisle responded, withdrawing from her clit, a trail of saliva lingering as he used his other hand to heighten her pleasure.
"So close." She managed to mutter amidst deep pants.
"I'm aware." He replied calmly, maintaining the rhythm of his hands on her.
It didn’t take long for Celine to cry out his name, her back arching in pleasure as Carlisle continued the steady rhythm of his fingers on her. He even returned to her clit, using his mouth to stimulate her sensitive, freshly-orgasmed pussy
"C-Carlisle!" Celine squealed, grasping a handful of his hair as she grinded her pussy against his face. Carlisle welcomed her enthusiasm, releasing his hands from her and encircling her thighs, ensuring she remained in place.
Carlisle decided that he was gonna force a few more orgasm out of her before calling it a day, a perfect alibi in his mind already. He didn't need his vampiric senses to discern that she was nearing climax once more. Celine's fervent whimpers of his name resonated through the air like sacred incantations as her back arched in pleasure, instinctively tightening her hold on his hair, her fingers gripping the strands with increasing fervor
"Carlisle, I'm cumming!" Celine yelled, instinctively thrusting her hips. Carlisle gently pushed her back down, determined to ride out her orgasm before withdrawing from her.
“Think you can handle a bit more?” Carlisle teased, a smirk playing on his lips as he slid his two fingers back inside her. He watched with satisfaction as Celine's eyes rolled back in pleasure, soft whimpers escaping her lips.
“Oh my god,” Celine breathed out, her pleas for more barely audible amidst the moans
Carlisle chuckled and increased his pace, driven by the desire to get another orgasm from her. He placed his other hand on her clit, rubbing his fingers around to stimulate her more.
He was addicted to her every whimpers and her every moan, wanting to do everything in him to push more out of her
He was growing more addicted to her.
"I can't quite hear you, could you say it louder for me, my love?" Carlisle teased, curling his fingers inside her, eliciting a louder moan from Celine.
“I’m getting close.” Celine stuttered out, her chest heaving with each pant
“How close?” Carlisle only asked, making sure to settle his pace on one that could get Celine on her orgasm
“So close, please.” Celine whimpered, her hands gripping the bedsheets tightly
"Do you think you can hold on until I give you permission?" Carlisle asked softly, his other hand resting on her waist, his thumb tracing circles on her skin
“So close— can’t anym-m—
Celine's sentence was cut off as she succumbed to another orgasm, her pussy pulsating around Carlisle's fingers. He maintained his pace until Celine rested her hand on his, gently pushing his hands away, signaling that she had reached her limit.
“How was it, my love?” Carlisle asked her, pulling his fingers out looking at her flushed face. She was panting, and anyone would clearly be able to see just how used she had been
‘To think that it’s just been three orgasms’ Carlisle thought to himself, chuckling as Celine catches her breath
“How about you?” Celine asked, sitting up and gazing at him with concern “This was for the both of us, not just me.”
“Do not worry about me. All I want is for today to be about you.” Carlisle assured her, moving to sit beside Celine and gently pushing the strands of hair that had become damp with sweat away from her “Your pleasure is my pleasure.”
“Stay the night?” Celine asked, looking at him with hopeful eyes
He kissed her forehead tenderly in response, getting up from her bed and going to what he assumed was her closet. He grabbed some clothes for her to wear and brought it back to the bed. He grabbed a clean cloth and went to her bathroom, wetting the cloth and wringing it for it to be damp. Coming back to her, she was about to grab the shirt to wear when he stopped her
“Let me take care of you.” Carlisle whispered softly, his voice filled with tenderness “Please.”
Celine only nodded, allowing Carlisle to make her wear the shirt that he’s gotten for her. He soon followed to carefully pull down her skirt and panties, wiping the dried wetness in between her legs and inner thighs before helping her wear some house shorts.
Observing how Celine was now ready for bed, Carlisle hesitated momentarily before removing his own pants, leaving him in just his boxers. As he settled beside her, he initially felt uncertain, but eventually relaxed, allowing Celine to rest her head on his chest.
“Carlisle?” Celine called quietly, Carlisle let out a hum as response, focusing on matching her breathing “Will things have to come back to how it was after today?”
“My love, if you wish to come back to how we were before today, then we will.” Carlisle answered, looking at her “I just wish to make you happy, that’s all.”
Celine only hummed in reply. She wrapped her arms around her torso, trying to hear his heartbeat to help her fall asleep. Unable to find the familiar rhythm, her mind began to churn with thoughts of the unmistakable signs that hinted at Carlisle's non-human nature. Each revelation felt like a sudden realization, hitting her like a brick to the face.
The cold skin…
The golden eyes…
The non-existent heartbeat…
“Carlisle?” Celine asked again, sitting up and looking at him intently. It was most definitely gonna be her end, but she needed to ask it to him
“Yes, my love?” Carlisle asked, sitting up as well
“You’re not human, are you?”

Here's a mixed bag of some crossovers I found while looking through my Sorting folder that I don't think I ever posted here!
1. Bendy meets Bendy! I did this gag after watching Everyone Knows It's Bendy and thinking it'd be funny if Fosters Bendy tried to frame Bendy for a crime yeah didn't commit (considering what else Bendy's been through.) Possible WIR-Verse or an AU where Bendy and friends ended up at Fosters after the studio's closure. As @lovelylivelyv said, Bendy's definitely gonna give the guy the scare of his life for this.
(Side note: While Foster's Bendy is a terrible lil shit as a character, Animation-wise I LOVE how he can go from very malicious to over-the-top innocence.)
2. Reuben and Jackie Khones! Two somewhat lazy, wise-cracking, sandwich-loving cartoon characters I could definitely see getting along. (Outside of their treatment of Wilt. Unlike Jackie, Reuben would see no reason to pick on a nice guy like Wilt, that's like kicking puppies.)
3. XD A hilarious WIR-Verse bit inspired by The Big Cheese. Somehow, Cheese wandered into Bendy and the Ink Machine without getting killed and most likely only got spooked by Sammy singing about Sheep. Don't ask how he made it in there, but Alice will definitely return him back to Fosters unharmed.
(Though...maybe tied up gagged to stop the annoying constant screams and running off. XD Alice might be a mom, nicer and far less murderous than Susan, but...she's a toon with some skewed thinking and would still find Cheese annoying. Even of she doesn't want to KILL him.)
4. Another in the "Don't ask how this happened" column: Bugs offering to help fellow hounded underdog Boris the Wolf deal with his "Angel Dame" problem.
5. This one came from the similarities and contrasts between Coraline and Destination: Imagination. Considering Coraline's experience was with a child-eating demon and The World was just a child looking for a friend (and the Beldam luring her in and spying on her with a doll) I thought it'd be interesting to have these two meet.
6. Some Coraline v Vanellope argument about Vanny leaving Sugar Rush for Slaughter Race. Both girls are in some ways important to their games and very adventurous, clever, and rebellious. But Coraline's learned what running off to live in a fantasy world and leaving family and responsibility behind can mean, what disasters that can bring, and doesn't want Vanny to make the same mistake. Whereas Vanny sees herself as just another racer, bullied her whole life and thought if as just a mistake, who doesn't really fit in there and feels meant for other things.
9. XD Here's an amusing AU: What if Coraline met Pinky and the Brain in the Other World somehow, thinking they were Other World mice since they could talk like she first mistakes the cat? Brain and Pinky most likely were on some take over the world scheme but I could see them trying to help this girl not get eaten by an obvious predator. Bonus, added by a question from @lovelylivelyv : Coraline actually wouldn't be thrown much by Brain's obvious spelling out of his identity and intentions. It's not the weirdest thing she's heard that day, and she might assume he either means THIS world or Her real world, whichever one she doesn't like more when he says it. Which...might bother him a bit, even as much as he appreciates the child's intellect.
7+8 I love the idea of Ki from "Mars Needs Moms" and @lovelylivelyv and I's version of Alice meeting. Two old-timey style characters somewhat unfamiliar with contemporary human culture but with a fascination with color and plants though growing up in a barren mono-color world. 7 shows Ki modified her color tags for the Cycle as a gift for Alice, while Alice shows an excited Ki a flower she grew herself.
10. Some messing around with Pinky and the Brain and my Drakgo shipchild OC, Lily Lipsky! Inspired by Two Mice and a Baby and the History song. I know Brain's not really good with kids normally, but with Lily being a evil genius child prodigy with intentions for World Domination who actually seems to LIKE him and UNDERSTAND his lessons...I feel they'd get along pretty well. Bonus: Pinky as usual, not paying attention and staring at a picture of Pharphignewton as a shout out to @lovelylivelyv 's ship.
@chytag @candyheartedchy (Ok, I know you're not into Reuben anymore and Jackie's an enemy, but I did draw Reuben and Bugs here.) @black-ak9 @hotelt-resurrection @serial-serializednovelreader @heartsong1994 @sammy-lawrence-my-beloved @gothicthundra @midnightcaptions @sweet-or-sarcastic @flowery-laser-blasts @inkiedraws @inkhyaena @inkspottie @inkwelldevil @thedopedemon @thedobermutt @thedemonsurfer @themangolover724 @blo0st4r

Masters of the Air - Bucky Egan x OC
coming to you from rome, italy atm!!! im away travelling so sorry for slow updates and thanks for your patience. all the loveeeee <3 (masterlist is here)
11. Connected by A Thread
Glenn Dye was the first pilot to hit twenty-five missions flown at Thorpe Abbotts. As such, the party thrown in his and his crew’s honour the evening he returned was monumental. Some of the other airmen had decorated the officers’ club for the occasion with various B-17- and American-themed decorations, and Stella was sure she’d never seen the club so full of people.
Along with what seemed like everyone who worked on base, locals from the village and land girls had come along to join in the fun. By the time Stella and Alice got there, the dance floor was already full of couples and every table was taken. There were no free chairs, was hardly any free space at the bar, and cheers erupting from each corner of the room intermittently.
Stella’s eyes swept the crowd in search of familiar faces.
Jessop emerged from it with a pint of beer in his hand and a grin on his face. “What time d’you call this?” he asked as he picked his way over to the two of them.
“Fashionably late,” Alice replied without missing a beat. “Where’s Dye? It seems rude not to congratulate him.”
“Table over there,” Jessop informed her, gesturing with his thumb over his shoulder. “Your boyfriend’s over there, too, Fin,” he added with a smile that betrayed he was expecting the wallop which met his shoulder as soon as he’d finished speaking.
“Not my boyfriend,” Stella all but growled.
Alice laughed. “One day you’ll wake up and you’ll realise you’re in love. Then what will you do?”
Stella scoffed. “I will most certainly not be falling in love with John Egan, thanks very much, so I don’t have to worry.”
“Does he know that?”
Stella rolled her eyes and didn’t dignify that with a response. “I’m getting a drink. Tell Dye congratulations from me.”
“Come tell him yourself,” Alice said. Now she was frowning.
“I’ll tell him later.”
“Tell him now.”
“Alice,” Stella said, shooting her a look. “I said I’ll tell him later.” Already she was exhausted by this night. So many people, so much noise. It was hot in here, too. Her hair felt heavy on the back of her neck, her jacket felt itchy, and her feet were sweating in her shoes. Something was tight in her chest, too, and heavy in her stomach. Something just felt off.
“You alright, Fin?” Jessop asked. His smile was fading all of a sudden as he searched her face for an explanation for her standoffishness.
Stella only brushed him aside. “I’m fine. I’m getting a drink.” But she didn’t go and get a drink; when she got to the bar she skirted around it and disappeared into the crowd, then headed for the door and pushed out into the quiet of late evening.
It was as bright outside as if it was three in the afternoon. The double daylight savings were still so difficult to get used to. But the blackout meant they had no streetlights on when it got dark, so Stella counted herself lucky that she could, at least, see. She moved out of the way of the door then paced forwards a few steps into the grass. In one smooth movement she folded herself down to the floor, her knees tucked up into her chest and her ankles crossed. She wrapped her arms around her legs and rested her chin on her knees, sighing as her eyelids fell closed.
It was bizarre, she thought, that she’d spent all day reminding herself that when she got into the club Curt wouldn’t be there to make sure she didn’t feel the shock of it, but she’d felt it all the same. Seeing John and Buck together, surrounded by their various friends, and Curt nowhere to be found was too jarring. Seeing so many other familiar faces as the replacement crews filled their spaces was sobering, like being spontaneously dunked into ice cold water.
How could everyone celebrate one crew going home when so many never would?
Stella didn’t know Glenn Dye. She didn’t care about him. She was happy for him and for his crew but he was someone she only knew in passing. Why did he get to live and go home and become an instructor, grow up and get married and raise babies, but one of the people she cared about didn’t? Why was it always the ones who mattered to Stella who drew the short straw and the ones who didn’t who ended up unscathed?
For the first time in a long time, Stella longed for home. For the comforting chaos of so many people being squashed into one small room, instead of the disorienting chaos of the officers’ club. She longed for Will’s arms around her and Harry’s jokes, for Arthur’s boring stories and George’s incredible ones.
She longed for a lot of things, really, which had been taken from her. So many things that she’d taken for granted, had assumed were due to her, were gone. And she could meet new people and try to make new friends but they would likely be taken from her, too, because that was what war was, what war did. She had no more right to the safety of her loved ones than anyone else did.
When someone ambled across the grass behind her and came to a stop just shy of right beside her, Stella assumed it was John. He had a talent for always knowing where she was. She had the same talent for him, she knew, but she didn’t like to admit it because that would mean admitting that she actively sought him out.
But it wasn’t John. When Stella looked up, her mouth open and ready to make some stupid comment, she found herself looking up at Buck.
His head was tipped back as he considered the stars, his hands at his sides and his posture formal even though it was just the two of them out here.
Stella watched him for a few moments. She knew he could feel her eyes on him because his hands started to twitch, like all of a sudden he was overly conscious of them and not sure what to do with them.
Tentatively, she offered a smile. “Seeking refuge, too?” she asked quietly.
Buck glanced down at her with a small, almost amused smile. “How’d you guess?” he asked.
Stella shrugged, resting her chin back on her knees, turning her eyes back on the expanse of grass in front of her so that he didn’t feel too observed. “I think we’re different in a lot of ways, Buck,” she replied, “but I think we’re similar in some big ones, too.”
Buck breathed a laugh. Stella imagined him trying to work out how she’d come to such a conclusion. On the surface, it was much easier to compare her to John; both of them talked a lot, had fiery personalities, and clung to people they liked. Both of them were confident in their own abilities and somewhat loud about them, too.
But Stella had recognised parts of her innermost self in Buck. He was a good leader and the men revered him, but he didn’t like the eyes and he didn’t like the crowds. He was at his most content when he was with John and Curt alone, when people weren’t looking to him for answers or for guidance. And, just like her, she sensed there was something in him which didn’t think himself quite worthy of John and his attention. Stella knew John had singled him out in training and plastered himself to his side, had given him a nickname which was similar to his own and given Buck no real choice in his friendship. John had done much the same with her. And just as she couldn’t understand it, his reasons for doing so or for his perseverance, she got the feeling Buck couldn’t, either. They were two peas in a pod that way, connected by a thread they weren’t sure they deserved to be bound to.
Buck didn’t make any comments on the contrary. He just shrugged, made a noncommittal sound in the back of his throat which may have been construed as agreement, and kept on staring at the stars.
Stella was content to sit with him in silence for a little while, but some time later she found herself bored. “John was telling me you’ve got a girlfriend back in the States,” she spoke up when she could bear the quiet no longer. “Will you tell me about her?”
Buck looked down at Stella with an expression which revealed he was at least mildly surprised by her inquiry, but he didn’t hesitate for long. Burying his hands in his pockets, he smiled to himself as he said, “Marge,” in a dreamy sort of way, like even just the sound of her name took him to an entirely different place. A moment later his eyes returned to Stella’s and he added, “Her name’s Marge.”
“John says he met her.”
Buck smiled again. “He did. She tried to set him up with one of her friends but it didn’t work out.”
“Because he wasn’t looking for commitment,” Stella surmised.
Buck shrugged, not to indicate that he didn’t know but to indicate that he wasn’t going to comment on the nature of John’s relationship to another woman.
“What’s your favourite thing about Marge?” Stella asked next, taking the hint.
Again, Buck was smiling that dreamy smile, his eyes set into the middle distance as his mind left the present moment and retreated to a happier one. “Her warmth,” he replied after a while. Stella got the impression he’d known the answer immediately, he’d just taken some time to revel in it before he’d shared it. “Her smile lights up the whole room. Every time she turns that smile on you you feel like the most important person in the world.”
Stella smiled as she watched him talk. “Maybe that’s just because to her you are the most important person in the world,” she ventured. “Maybe she reserves that smile just for you and you don’t know it because she can’t help but give it to you.”
Buck’s expression was quizzical as he looked down at her. He arched one eyebrow only slightly at her but it was enough to make her laugh.
“I’m a secret romantic,” Stella confessed, giggling to herself. “Don’t tell anyone, much less John, but I read a lot of romance books.”
“You don’t seem like the type,” Buck mused as he finally settled himself into the grass beside her.
“Because I’m so dark and mysterious?” Stella guessed, grinning.
“Because you keep rejecting Bucky,” Buck said.
Stella scoffed. “He hasn’t tried it on with me a single time, not really. When I thought he was it was only me jumping to conclusions. He’s feeding you fibs if he’s told you I’ve ever rejected him.”
Both of Buck’s eyebrows were raised now, the twist in his mouth amused, but he didn’t say anything.
Stella scoffed once more and looked ahead of her, because that expression on his face said more than his words would have needed to.
“How did you meet Marge?” she asked, because she’d started this conversation about him, not about her.
He set the scene for her and took his time painting the picture of the first time he’d met Marge while in his junior year of college. He spoke of her with so much reverence, with a small smile and a brightness in his eyes which was usually reserved for when he was watching John do something stupid to entertain him. He spoke at length about how their relationship had developed up to now and by the time he was finished Stella felt like she’d fallen in love with Marge right along with him.
“It must be hard to be away from her,” she said softly once Buck had finished his story. “I’m sad for you.”
Buck looked back at her carefully before giving her a small smile, as though he could tell she was being earnest. She’d never spoken to him one-on-one like this, much less for so long or about such personal things, but she could see what John saw in him; he was an easy person to be your truest self with.
“Yeah,” he said at last. “It’s hard. But she writes amazing letters. ‘M counting down the days until I can get back to her.”
Stella smiled. “I bet.”
“There you two are!” John exclaimed from the doorway to the club, light and sound from the room beyond spilling outside before he let the door fall closed with a bang. “What, you hosting a party and I’m not invited? My two best friends are leaving me for each other?”
“Bucky,” Buck said with a shake of his head, but there was a fond smile playing on his lips.
Stella said nothing, because he’d called her his best friend. After Curt, she supposed she was the only other close friend he had. She’d been wrong when she’d been in the infirmary, when she’d talked about the two of them being opposites, about John being the kind of person people gravitated towards. Now that she was edging closer to him she could see that wasn’t true. The other men looked up to him, just like they looked up to Buck, but whereas the distance between them and Buck was because they’d placed him on a pedestal and created in him some kind of deity, in John they’d created some kind of ticking time bomb, a live wire; to them, he was fun to observe, great to know because of the stories you could tell about him, but better off keeping your distance from. The other men liked to know of him but they didn’t like to know him, not really. And now that Curt wasn’t around, that was one less person who wanted to.
Stella wanted to.
It was only really now, hearing him call her one of his best friends, seeing him ambling towards the two of them, already halfway drunk but smiley and affectionate and fond instead of rowdy and aggressive, as she’d known drunkenness to be, that she could acknowledge how much she wanted to know him. She wanted to know him an awful lot.
“No party out here,” Stella said quietly, fiddling with the sleeves of her uniform jacket. “We were actually fleeing from the party in there.”
“Ain’t no party in there while you’re out here, Stels,” John replied without missing a beat. He was wearing a wide grin which she’d once thought was stupid, because he looked much too pleased with himself, but now thought was familiar and reassuring and safe. That grin was directed at her because she was wanted, her company and her thoughts. That grin was directed at her because he was glad she was around and glad to share his thoughts with her.
“Have you met any of the new pilots yet?” she asked to prevent having to reply.
John’s grin faded a little bit. “No,” he said decisively, straightening out his posture like he’d been chastised. “Actually, that’s why I came out here. Looking for you, Buck - Rosenthal and Nash are in there, thought we oughta introduce ourselves.”
“Right,” Buck agreed. His reluctance to return to the party wasn’t lost on Stella and nor, she was sure, was it lost on John.
“Alice really fancies Rosenthal,” Stella said before she could stop herself, a last ditch attempt to prolong the conversation. Once they went back inside she’d be left on her own, after all, and then what would she do?
John’s smile grew again. “She does?”
“Don’t tell her I told you,” Stella insisted immediately. “Rosenthal already knows - she’s not exactly subtle - but if she thinks you know just tell her it’s because she’s obvious.”
“I can set her up,” John said.
Stella laughed. “She doesn’t need the help, I don’t think. Why did you never go for her, anyway? I would’ve thought she’d be exactly your type.”
John’s smile faded.
Buck coughed awkwardly.
Distantly, Stella acknowledged she’d just put her foot in it. She wasn’t so naïve as to not acknowledge the change in the air.
When John didn’t reply, just set his eyes on some spot in the distance Stella couldn’t find anything particularly remarkable about, Buck coughed into his fist again. “Maybe we should get back in there,” he said, planting his hands in the grass and pushing himself to his feet.
“Yeah,” Bucky said.
“Right,” Stella agreed.
“You coming, Fin?” Buck asked.
Stella forced a smile. “I think I’ll just go back to my hut and get an early night. Send Dye my congratulations, maybe?”
“You can’t go to bed this early, Stels,” John said with a slight crooked smile. “Come back inside and I’ll buy you a beer, how’s that?”
Stella considered this offer. She almost accepted it, even. But then she remembered what lay beyond the door to the club, the room filled with new faces but Curt and Dickie and the rest of their crew nowhere to be found.
“No thank you,” she said.
“Stels -”
“I’m going to go to bed.”
“What’s in there that you don’t like?”
Before she could think of what she was saying, she was replying, “It’s what’s not in there that -” She faltered and cut herself abruptly off. She knew her face had fallen.
John and Buck were both watching her carefully as she turned away and stared at a point as far into the distance as she could find.
“You mean Curt?” Buck asked softly after a moment’s pause.
Stella made a non-committal sound in the back of her throat, some kind of choked hum in acknowledgement of what he’d said. She couldn’t turn to look at either of them and momentarily considered just making a break for it and setting off running back to her hut.
No one said anything.
After a while of feeling sorry for herself, Stella remembered where she was, who she was with, and suddenly felt rotten for feeling like she’d loved Curt more than either of the men beside her. But she didn’t know how to apologise for this sentiment and knew, besides, that John would brush it away. So instead she said softly, “So many new faces,” and knew they would understand how she was feeling.
“Yeah,” John replied, equally as quiet.
“Yeah,” Buck agreed.

Sunny Day Jack - Cat AU Reversal
Remember the AU where Jack is a cat that can transform into a human with or without cat ears and a tail? Well, a recent comment reminded me of the theory that cats might be able to sense ghosts(?) like Jack. This theory came about because cats can’t stand Jack, and he’s not a fan of them either for some mysterious reason. Somehow, I don’t think it’s because Jack is secretly a werewolf or has wolfish traits like he’s from the Omegaverse.
Another bit of lore to fuel this theory came from the (now sadly deleted) trailer where Shaun describes (presumably) Jack as a thing. Shaun has a fair number of cat-like traits, including whisker marks and purring. He’s very cat-coded, so it’s entirely possible that he won’t be able to stand Jack either.
Wouldn’t it be quite interesting then if there was a reversal of the cat AU? Here, MC is the one who’s secretly a cat that can transform into a human, and as such they can sense that there’s more to Jack than meets the eye.

Content Warning: This post contains talk of sex, cheating, abusive family situations, chronic illness, bullying, death, mourning, body horror, yandere obsession, and kinky sexy times with cat-like features. I’ll try to keep things for the most part light and fun, but sometimes drama likes to creep into these headcanons.
Also, sometimes they spark me to write a snippet of a scene or two!
Really, I can see a lot of potential for a more tsundere experience with Jack. Since cats naturally don’t get along with him and vice-versa, there’d be even more friction between him and his sunshine right from the start. This will make winning MC over a heck of a lot more challenging for Jack, and as such put him at much greater risk if he can’t convince them to want him in spite of this natural repulsion. It can also be a great internal conflict for him, as he dislikes cats yet loves MC dearly.
This sort of scenario would be perfect to insert myself like an isekai given my feline avatar, but y’all know how much I love the guy. Maybe it’s because my avatar is a dragon in the shape of a feline that I’m immune to this feline repulsion. Perhaps dragons are the opposite and just instantly fall in love with Jack instead. Jack certainly loves his sunshine as a dragon.
But you know me, I’ve got to indulge with my OTP, and this sort of silly AU is perfect to do just that.
I know in the past I’ve said that my girl Alice is more bunny-coded, but imagining her as a fluffy white kitty with bright blue eyes is adorable. I can see the whole King family embodying the feline spirit, plus it’d be hilarious to imagine how Bo and Elias would have to deal with similar feline shenanigans from Barbie and Coraline respectively.
I wonder if Elias has similar issues with cats as a ghost. I’d be tragic if he actually liked them in life, only for them to be repelled in death. Naturally, it’s pretty obvious what Bo’s beef with cats is, as it’s hard coded into his virtual doggy DNA. This doggo is going to have to overcome his programming for the sake of love.
So, yeah, this post is less about general MCs in this situation and more about my OCs since the possibilities of messing with the guys with cats is hilarious to me. It’s going to be mostly a light-hearted romp with some spiciness here and there.
Of course, the lore of the game and Sunshine in Hell aren’t quite the same when it comes to cats. I’ve mentioned in the past how Jack and Moon Pie are going to bond, and Shaun and Jack are going to become friends despite their issues. Given my fondness for cats and Jack, I just can’t resist the image of kitties snuggling up to him.
But I like adding a bit of spice sometimes, and not just the NSFW kind. It’d be so interesting if Alice is instinctively repelled by Jack at the start, maybe even seeing him as an undead corpse, but she still chooses to save and be close to him. It’d be a very real beauty and the beast tale.
Then again, it’s probably more accurate to call it a beast and the beast tale considering Alice turns into an animal.
Anyway, things play out as they usually do, with Alice picking up the tape at the thrift store, finding it oddly compelling. In this universe, her favorite way to unwind after a hard day is to turn on the TV and slip into something more comfortable. And by comfortable I mean ridiculously flexible because dang, who wouldn’t want to be able to turn into a boneless little puddle of fur? Have you seen how relaxed cats can get? I can’t help but be a little jealous.
Of course, a good boneless sprawl across the sofa gets a little less relaxing when the tape starts talking back. Alice would turn from a limp noodle to a rigid arch with bristled fur in an instant after hearing a character on TV call her by name.
As I’ve mentioned previously, Alice willingly bonded herself to Jack in Sunshine in Hell to save him from, well, hell. The process just made her forget about it. I’m really fond of this headcanon because it goes well with themes of consent in the game and the fact that Jack is literally unable to do anything his sunshine doesn’t want him to do. He needs MC to want and need him in order to remain in this world.
It’d be quite a bit harder for Alice to agree to such a deal when her instincts are giving her clear warning signals that something is wrong with Sunny Day Jack. Looks aren’t everything, and appearances can be deceiving, but animal instincts tend to be a pretty good guide.
However… that wouldn’t be the only instinct demanding that Alice take action. Alice is the reincarnation of Mary, the person who loved this ghost(?) long before he became Jack. They’re soulmates, and her dying wish was to be reborn and loved by her precious starlight once again.
So it would be a war of two cats inside of Alice. One cat is hissing at the unholy abomination pawing at her soul. The other is mournfully crying out for him with a longing that she just can’t explain. Reminds me of that two wolves meme come to think of it.
It’d be quite the confusing moment, that’s for sure.
On the subject of Mary, it would be interesting if she was a cat shifter too. Joseph could’ve been one of those guys that pretend that they don’t like cats, but secretly just wants to cuddle with one. Sadly, the poor guy is so love starved that he comes on too strong, and cats always try to get away from him. It’s easier for him to just pretend he doesn’t like cats so their rejection doesn’t sting quite so much.
With Joseph being a normal, very much alive human, there would be no instinct warning Mary away from him. Well… not unless Joseph is just a natural cat-repellant like Sakaki from Azumanga Daioh. Still, even in that case, Mary would be his special exception. Even Sakaki eventually found her feline soulmate too after all~
You know, it would be interesting if Mary was the only one in the Phoenix family who could transform into a cat. It could even be her own little secret that only Joseph finds out about. She could even use her feline form to sneak off to visit him at his house. It’d be only fair considering all the times he comes to climb in through her window.
As a cat, Mary had the same pretty blue eyes, but a chocolate colored coat, which is pretty rare for cats.
That suddenly gives me the image of someone scooping up Mary in cat form, intending to make her into their pet. She can’t exactly change back in front of a stranger, and though she struggles with all her might, she can’t squirm out of their grip.
Suddenly young teenage Joseph barrels into the cat-napper from behind! This little punk was no stranger to picking fights, and the second he saw someone try to take Mary away, he had to act. It doesn’t matter if they’re an adult and much bigger than him, Joseph will still punch their lights out!
Sure, Joseph might get in trouble if the person reported him or if an authority figure saw him in the act, but why should he care? He won’t hesitate to take on the entire world if it means he doesn’t have to be separated from the one person in the whole world who actually cares about him.
I wonder if in this universe they could’ve run away together. Sure, Mary might’ve been forbidden from seeing him like in the regular continuity, but if she can sneak out as a cat, she can still see him. After being told that she won’t live to adulthood by her doctor, she refuses to waste time that could be spent with the people she cares about. In the normal timeline, her parents put bars on her windows then forced her to move away. She didn’t have the option to rebel. She didn’t even consider running away as an option. She could only accept this sad truth.
Joseph Cullman was a kid who thought about running away though. He’s someone so lonely, so desperate for love. He can’t just let go of the only person who loves him! It was hard enough going to separate schools and only being able to see each other when Mary could sneak out, but news about the move would be devastating.
Joseph can’t let that happen.
I can imagine the scene of Mary coming to Joseph to tell him one last goodbye…
Joseph jolted when he saw the way Mary’s eyes glistened wetly with tears. More tears fell when she shifted back to her human form. The puffiness around her eyes and the redness around them hinted at just how many more tears she had shed before seeing him. “Mary? What’s wrong?”
“J-Jo…,” Mary choked out, but that was all she could say before she threw herself into his arms. She buried her face into the crook of his neck just in time to muffle a sob.
Joseph held Mary tightly to him, his heart pounding so hard his chest hurt while a pit formed in his stomach. He remembered the last time she cried into his arms like this, after the doctor told her that she wouldn’t live to see adulthood.
“It… it’s okay…,” he eventually managed to squeak out. “What… whatever it is… it’ll be okay.” The words came out brittle, a lie too fragile to offer any form of strength to either of them.
It took some time for Mary to finally force out the awful truth.
“M-my family is m-moving away!”
Joseph froze, the words coming down on him with the force of a judge’s gavel delivering the death sentence. He barely kept up with the details Mary managed to add between shaky breaths and choked sobs. It was something about a job states away, but whatever was going on with those damn parents of hers didn’t matter. They could fuck off to a different country - a different planet for all he cared! They certainly never cared about what Mary wanted.
Those bastards weren’t satisfied with simply forbidding Joseph and Mary from being together. It wasn’t enough to put bars on her windows or threaten to call the police if he even stepped foot on their property. This move was so extreme, so permanent and final. It felt like a middle finger directed at both of them and their love.
Joseph couldn’t imagine a life without Mary. He refused to accept it.
No one would take his sunshine away.
But what could they do? Mary couldn’t hide at his house, it’d be the first place they’d look! There were so few places they could go. The teachers were relentless about catching delinquents, chasing them out of secret stomping grounds and poking their noses where they didn’t belong. The police would be even worse.
Nowhere in this town was safe. The only way they could be together was…
“We’ll run away.”
The thought slipped past his lips as a quiet whisper. It came out so easily, just as natural a solution as adding one plus one to make two. Hearing it aloud sparked something in Joseph, and in an instant he just knew it was the right decision.
“Wh-what?” Mary sniffled, as she looked up at him with wide, wet eyes.
“We’ll run away,” Joseph repeated, his voice strong and sure. His eyes blazed with a fire that couldn’t be extinguished, as he squeezed Mary just a little closer. “We’ll run away to someplace where no one knows us, so no one can tell us what to do, or pick on us, or keep us apart ever again.
Though stunned and aghast by the idea, Mary still listened. She was reluctant to leave her family behind, but Joseph knew that they didn’t deserve her. He had spent so much time seeing how badly they treated her. His family was no better. It was the same with their classmates, the teachers…
What few protests Mary could offer were feeble, easily shattered by Joseph’s resolve, which only grew more galvanized as he dug up all the awful things they had gone through over the years. So many times he wanted to scream to the world the unfairness of it all, and he laid that unfairness bare for both of them to see that this city had no love to offer either of them.
And that included the people who shared their blood.
Mary didn’t want to lose the only person who treated her like she was worthy of existing. She also didn’t want to lose her parents and older brother, the people she had known all of her life. She had to choose between her family or Joseph. She loved both so much. She wanted so badly to be loved by all of them. The thought of losing either of them tore her apart inside. No matter who she chose, her heart would be cleaved in two.
In the end, Mary chose to keep the half of her heart that actually made her feel loved.
I know I kind of skimmed over the way Joseph convinced Mary to run away with him, but they are two love-struck teens, immature and emotional. Mary wouldn’t necessarily have thought of running away on her own, but Joseph is passionate enough about keeping his sunshine that I’m sure he’ll win her over. They’re both in a very emotionally vulnerable state at the time after all.
The same general story beats are the same, leading the pair to LambsWork Productions, and an eventual tragedy. Being a cat shifter didn’t really change much there, save for one small detail.
Mary ran away one last time after the incident. It was the hardest thing she ever did. The hospital was certainly in a panic over their missing patient in critical condition. However, cats tend to instinctively want to go someplace secluded in their final hours. There was only one place she wanted to go, one cold and lonely place she heard about from the few visitors she got.
The SunnyTime Crew weren’t allowed to arrange a funeral for Joseph, but they made a memorial for him in secret. Mary was told about it. They promised to take her there when she got better, so she just had to keep fighting.
This was Mary’s final fight, one last struggle to reach the memorial on her own four paws. When she finally reached it, she curled up around the cross, between the still lit candles, and thought about her starlight as darkness crept in to steal her away for good.
Thaaaaaaat went a lot darker than I intended this post to go. My apologies. I just have so many big feelings about this poor tragic pair. Let’s switch back to a more hopeful future, shall we?
Alice might not remember being Mary, but some instincts still linger. She’s protective and loving… and she was broken by a cheating ex who moved on to new and exciting people without her. In that vulnerable state, Jack appeared, needing her help. Her feline instincts might scream at the wrongness of him, but they also tell her that he was someone she didn’t realize she was missing for so, so long.
Though wary, Alice does agree to help Jack. It’s more than a little surprising for him to see a white cat instead of a person when he starts crawling out of the TV. That surprise only compounds when she turns into a human to help pull him out.
Really, it makes Jack wonder even more if he really is still dreaming after all.
Alice waking up without remembering their initial meeting does set things back a bit. She’s repulsed by Jack even as she’s drawn to him. It makes her feel guilty, but her instincts haven’t let her down before. They were what told her that things about her relationship with Ian weren’t right, made her question things to the point that spent a chunk of her savings booking a ticket to see him, hoping that surprising him with an unexpected visit would put her fears to rest.
Alice arrived at the most perfect, most horrible time.
Cats have really good hearing, and Alice could hear what Ian and the affair partner were doing in his apartment even before she could knock on the door. She was in shock and didn’t know what to do, had nowhere to go in this city she had never visited before. She was only snapped out of her shock by the phone call Ian made when he tearfully confessed what he had done.
Ian was shocked that Alice already knew what he had done. He was even more shocked that she was there. He ran out, wearing only a blanket to cover his modesty. He stank of sex and the other woman. He was covered in lipstick and markings and fluids. It was a repugnant experience for Alice to get her senses assaulted even as Ian was crying and begging for her forgiveness. He didn’t know how it happened, but he promised that he never did this before.
Of course… the affair partner was there, listening. This person knew about Alice and was keen to rub it in the face of her “rival” that she was “better.” After all, a lot of the allure of seducing someone in a relationship is the feeling of superiority.
It was a cruel scene, one that just made Ian’s betrayal all the worse for choosing to destroy their relationship for someone so awful, someone who delighted in Alice’s misery.
Ian, who was overwhelmed by the enormity of what he had done and the shame eating him alive, could do little more than cry and apologize. He was too much of a mess to even refute his affair partner’s barbs, not after what he had done.
Ian never really was good at standing up to bullies, especially when he was in distress.
Alice never tried to make it work in this universe after that. Ian had destroyed her trust and crushed her heart, and the affair partner poured salt and lye into the wound. For as many times as she forgave Ian, this was a pain inflicted far deeper than any she could recover from.
Alice didn’t drown herself in alcohol and go to the hospital in this universe. She instead wandered lost in the city with her luggage after she finally couldn’t take it anymore and ran away from Ian’s apartment. It was the most alone she ever felt in her life, in a place she didn’t know, with no one to trust who she could turn to. She felt like a housecat that had been thrown out of its home, forced to become a stray on the streets of a big, heartless city.
It was the loneliest Alice had ever felt in her entire life.
It took Alice a while to piece herself back together enough to make the return flight with the help of many phone calls with family and friends. They were there to meet her when she got off the flight at the airport and started crying as she was brought into a group hug.
Of course, in the aftermath, Ian still tried to reach out. He tried to fix things, make it work. Alice could never answer his calls. Hearing him crying and begging broke her further, but the entire incident added a heavy bitterness that kept her from wavering.
Jack arrived while Alice was still healing from such a devastating wound. While she had support immediately after the incident, eventually her family went back to their respective homes, Shaun moved away to further his schooling, and other friends of hers drifted further and further apart, especially after she had to move apartments.
Alice had to adjust to a new city where she knew no one and start her life over. She was alone in a big city, keeping a secret that few could learn about for fear that they wouldn’t understand or might take advantage of it. She was scared and wary of Jack when he suddenly entered her life, but also felt a strange longing. Her heart that wished for those beautiful loving moments with Ian now nudged her towards Jack, and she couldn’t understand why part of her wanted him that way. It made no sense.
Much like a cat, Alice kept her distance from Jack, but not too much. She didn’t want to be alone, so she didn’t want to stray far from him. It was complicated.
Fortunately, despite this feeling of wrongness, Jack constantly proved himself to be gentle and kind. He did so much for Alice, took care of her. He saw her as a cat and was actually enthusiastic about cats. He loves cats in fact! He didn’t think she was strange or scary for being able to transform. Alice found it kind of nice having someone she could trust like this, a secret invisible/imaginary(?) friend that she had all to herself.
Besides her family, the only other people who knew her secret were Ian and Shaun. Alice thought she could trust Ian with anything, but she learned the hard way that she trusted him far too much.
Shaun, as one might expect in this sort of AU, is also a cat shifter. Moon Pie will also be a shifter he adopts. Yes, it means he gets to be a single father, but how could he leave poor baby Moon Pie all alone in the world? Plus we get to see cute moments of Moon Pie in her adorable human form.

Cat shifters can sense one another on instinct. That’s how Shaun figured out what Moon Pie was and how he and Alice spotted one another right away when they first met at the college. It made Ian feel uneasy how quickly the two bonded, and he couldn’t help but feel jealous despite being otherwise secure in their relationship. Alice might’ve trusted Ian with her secret, but she wasn’t about to share anyone else’s without permission, so Ian didn’t learn the real reason why they clicked so quickly.
Shaun didn’t like Ian’s vibes so never let Ian in on the secret that he was a shifter like Alice. It also gave him a little bit of petty satisfaction to see Ian jealous. It made bearing his one-sided crush on Alice a little easier. Of course he would never do more than lightly poke Ian to make himself feel better. He would never try to break up a happy couple, and he wasn’t a scumbag who cheats on his partner or helps other people cheat on their partners.
Of course, Shaun soon learned they weren’t quite as happy a couple as they wanted to be.
Sleepovers with Shaun in this universe involved kitty cuddle puddles. There was nothing like curling up together all warm and toasty in some blankets during a horror movie marathon. Cats can do some pretty close cuddling too. It certainly would’ve made Ian and Jack pretty jealous if they saw it!
Which is exactly why Shaun is going to do so when he’s staying at the apartment after getting settled in. He’s gotta pay back Jack for rubbing it in his face that Alice chose Jack after all.
Of course, Shaun isn’t going to have the same split instincts that Alice had. He’s going to be freaking out over Jack, being extra defensive over Alice. For as much as Alice insists that Jack isn’t dangerous, it’s hard for Shaun to shake the feeling of wrongness. Alice fully understands the feeling, as she felt it before. Really, that feeling hasn’t gone away completely, she’s just managed to calm her instincts in that regard with the love she feels for Jack. He’s managed to soothe those defensive instincts down to just a small prickle at the back of her mind.
Since Shaun can’t convince Alice that Jack is bad news, he’s more determined to stick around and keep an eye on Jack. Given how much Alice gave of herself to Ian, who only hurt her in the end, Shaun isn’t convinced that history won’t repeat itself with Jack.
Really, Shaun would consider coming up with excuses to stay in the apartment longer if not for poor baby Moon Pie. Both he and Alice would be worried about her being distressed by Jack's presence. Shaun, naturally, goes protective papa mode, and Alice wants to do all she can to comfort her. For Moon Pie's sake, it's best that they get their own place.
Of course, Shaun would prefer that Alice comes with them and leaves Jack behind.
Jack does try to reassure Moon Pie that he's not dangerous, as she is just an innocent, blind child. It makes him very sad to see any child afraid of him. It bothers him more than he'll admit. (After all, it was Joseph's fear that he might hurt or upset kids as Sunny Day Jack.) He goes out of his way to try and be friendly to her, but she's not convinced, and often openly hisses at him even in human form.
It hurts Jack a lot that the only child that can perceive him is so afraid of him. He can't rest easy with that, eating away at him similar to certain bad memories, so he makes it his personal mission to befriend Moon Pie. It's a priority for him that comes second only to taking care of Alice and loving her.
I figure that Shaun sees a shadowy outline where Jack is, something twisted, putrid, and rotting. Jack gives off a phantom stench that he recoils from. He can't see how Alice can stand to cuddle that thing.
Alice did see Jack in a very distorted way when he arrived. Hell, he still doesn't quite fit in reality, but she can see him for what she is. Her love for him has dulled those repellant sensations so she can better sense him the way he wants her to see, feel, hear, smell, and taste him.
Moon Pie, being blind, can't actually see Jack, but she can keenly feel him, and smell the wrongness. She calls him stinky and often buries her face in Shaun's shirt when Jack is around so she doesn't have to smell him.
While in Sunshine in Hell, Shaun is going to be wary of Jack, over time, he does warm up to the guy, as there’s no instinctive sense of wrongness interfering in that universe. With his protective instincts on high alert in this one, he’s going to have a much harder time calming down about the guy, if he ever does.
It's possible though that Moon Pie will warm up to Jack before Shaun does. Children are more adaptive, and Jack is experienced with dealing with children, plus he is very sincere in wanting to befriend her. Regardless of his feelings about Shaun, he badly wants Moon Pie to like him. Alice certainly helps by championing him as a good guy who can be trusted despite what their feline instincts might lead them to believe.
You bet your sweet bippy that Shaun is going to dig hard into Jack’s past and figure out what the hell is going on with him. He wants to learn everything - where Jack came from, how Jack came to be, what the hell Jack even is, etc. He might wind up digging and clashing with Jack to the point that he gets treated to a certain little speech…
But this was supposed to be a fun and silly AU, so let’s put the drama and yandere horror on the shelf for now and get back to the sweet fluff.
Once Alice gets comfortable with Jack, she’ll start spending time after work curled up in his lap as a cat. Somehow he always manages to find just the perfect ways to stroke her and get her purring. It feels so good, and she practically meeeeeeeelts at his touch. Relaxing as a cat was the best way to unwind, but Jack makes the experience even better, massaging all the soreness out of her muscles and encouraging her to just sprawl across him languidly, opening up to him completely and without reservation or shame.
Jack can’t help but imagine Alice as a human in those positions. It certainly gives him a hard time while they’re still in the friendship stage. He’ll need to be subtle about readjusting his comfy kitty sunshine to rest in his arms or on a pillow in his lap as he hides just how excited he made himself with his naughty private thoughts.
Naturally, once they become a couple and things get intimate, Jack uses these petting sessions as an excuse to coax Alice to let him touch her in human form… though she can keep those cute kitty ears and tail. He just loves how sensitive those parts of her are, so perfect for him to exploit. He can stroke and lick and nibble, making her mewl for him in the most sinful way.
The purring is nice too. Jack loves to point out when Alice is purring for him. It makes him so happy that he can make her feel so good… and of course the purring feels wonderful when he’s inside her. It’s practically sinful the way her warm body vibrates around him, so intimate and pleasurable. Her halfway form has a texture to her tongue, nothing sharp but the little bumps are so nice when she’s going down on him.
Alice is always extra careful about her fangs, but Jack doesn’t mind if she uses them on him. In fact, he encourages it. He loves it when she leaves love bites all over his body, marking him with her love. He makes sure to return the favor so that the whole world can see his love all over her precious body.
Although Jack can’t carry cat Alice around in public like she can in the AU where Jack is the cat, he can still enjoy some kitty in the titty time. His chest is so warm, with ample cleavage that’s perfect to snuggle into. He can even zip up the bottom of his jacket to make sure she won’t fall out of his shirt - not that he would ever allow that to happen. He would never hurt his sunshine, ever!
As a cat, Alice is so small, vulnerable. There’s something just so soothing being tucked into Jack’s shirt, pressed against his skin, listening to his heartbeat and breathing as she’s wrapped up in his warmth and scent. The way he strokes her and coos sweet words of love are addicting. It’s so hard for her to want to leave this warm little nest she found in his arms, her safety from a cold, lonely world.
It’s familiar too. Sometimes in that hazy state of half-sleep, Alice imagines tattoos on Jack’s chest and phantom scents that are so nostalgic and make her think of home. It’s not quite memories of Mary, but she also loved to be held by Joseph just like this a lifetime ago. The world wasn’t so big and scary when she was surrounded by love.
Jack subconsciously remembers these moments as well, the familiar fur and purring, the way his sunshine rubs her cheek against his chest to mark him with her scent on instinct, claiming him as hers. He is hers, and Alice is his. It’s a truth that had been blurred in his mind for so long, lost and distorted with all his other memories, but now it's oh so clear.
Jack knows that being with Alice is why he’s there. He knew her once - these moments were too familiar, too much like home for him to convince himself otherwise. He can’t remember when or where… but this is his sunshine, his amazing, beautiful, supernatural sunshine that makes him warm like no one else ever could.
Alice was so lonely without Jack, he knows that. Even with her family and other relations… he knows she must have been missing something, someone important. Fortunately, he’s here now, and he will never let anything separate them. Ever.
People like Ian and Shaun are seen as opportunistic annoyances that swooped in to fill in the space Jack left behind in his absence. Alice doesn’t need them now that Jack is here.
Her family… can they be trusted? Jack isn’t sure. Since they're cat shifters, surely they'll react the same way Shaun and Moon Pie did. Alice gave him a chance in spite of that instinct because what they have is special. These people... he has no idea.
Alice clearly loves her family, often speaking highly of them. For some strange reason, a part of Jack feels like that’s not true. Not that he thinks Alice is lying! He's sure she means every word, but... he can't quite shake this feeling that they're not good for her. Thoughts of his sunshine’s family were like dark clouds, dimming her beautiful light… yet, what he sees time and time again is the opposite. She lights up when she talks to them over the phone or when she tells him things about them. They sound so warm, like her, and she’s certain that they’ll like him too, even if they have to work around the supernatural roadblocks.
Even still, Jack can’t completely shake the creeping dread that her family is a threat, like they plan to steal her away. He can’t remember why, and he feels bad for thinking that way when they mean so much to her, but he needs to make sure that nothing will ever get between him and Alice.
That’s a bit of a heavy note, but this AU is going to have a happy fluffy ending to it despite the occasional bump in the road because I’m a sucker for happy endings with my OTP. It’s just that this universe has a bit of a winding path to get there. In the end though, Alice and Jack will be happy, and eventually have a few kittens who can turn into children that look like a mixture of the two of them.
Wow, this silly AU ramble went on longer than expected. I should probably start wrapping things up, so I'll be really quick when touching on Barbie and Coraline.
Barbie, being a cat shifter, is a lot more prone to teasing Bo. She doesn't have any negative instincts towards him, but she knows the stereotype and can't help but use it as an excuse to tease her virtual doggy boyfriend. She won’t have the nickname of “Puppy” in this universe, but instead it’ll be “Kitty.” Bo might have issues with cats, but Barbie is his one and only exception. How can he hate her when she’s so warm, and he needs her so badly?
Still, Bo can’t help but go even crazier over her antics in this world, especially since she just loves to tease him without mercy. Like a dog, he wants to chase his kitten around, pounce on her, and show her who the alpha really is. Somehow though, his pretty kitty always manages to get the drop on him, making him be the one to roll over and expose his belly in submission.
Barbie is a large cat - think Maine Coon large - a brown tabby with black stripes and white accents. She has that classic tabby cat look that you could find most anywhere, but her eyes are still dazzling shades of blue and brown that have her stand out from an ordinary cat.
Barbie, also, is a master of the kitty smirk. She uses her feline form as a means to escape interacting with people, and favors climbing to high places to lord over others. In her cat form, she has a collar she wears, and after she gets Bo she decides to clip his digital pet charm onto it so she can take him on wild adventures through the city. It’s a pretty jostling ride, but Bo prefers being shaken up by his kitty and having the world turn into a blur around them as she runs and jumps around rather than being left behind alone at her apartment.
Coraline is the definition of a house cat due to her health problems. It hurts less to be a cat, strangely enough. Like Barbie, she’s also a brown and black tabby, but she has a lot of white patches along her face, head, belly, and “socks” on her feet. She also has a pretty pair of golden brown eyes.
Although cats instinctively recoil from ghosts, Coraline is still fascinated with them. The sensation she gets from haunted spaces is a rush that makes her addicted to learning more and more about them. When she meets Elias, she’s frozen in place with her instincts screaming in fear, yet at the same time she’s never felt more alive.
So, in a way, cat Coraline is much more of a thrill seeker in this universe, just when it comes to encountering the supernatural. While she might not be healthy enough to parkour around the city like her big sister Barbie, she’s still living quite the exciting life at a more moderate pace.
I think I’ll wrap things up there. Admittedly, there’s not too much different from the regular continuity overall, just some fine feline features have been tweaked here and there. Still, I had fun indulging in images of Jack cuddling kitty Alice and the interesting and unexpected dramatic shifts in the story that comes from what was otherwise a very silly AU. I hope you all enjoyed reading about me indulging in my love of kitties mixed with my OTPs!

what descendants 4 would have been if i was given free reign
okay so idek if there’s a descendants community on here but i just have to get my ideas out SOMEWHERE bc the wonderland stuff had so much potential but disney just went such a bizarre direction with d4. like what even was that time travel plot. this was partly inspired by dylanisintrouble’s incorrect assumption in his reaction vid that it would be abt a group of wonderland kids bc that’s exactly what should have happened!! let me elaborate
fun fact this was written while i was getting torn to shreds on tiktok for my descendants song rankings but ANYWAYS
i’m keeping it realistic to what disney could have done, as in no cameos of the og cast that isn’t already in the movie. ofc in a perfect world we’d get more with those characters, but after cameron’s passing i’m respecting their wishes to not be in more descendants movies without him.
things i’m keeping the same:
the cast is p much the same except characters i have to cut since i’m scrapping the time travel aspect. cinderella and charming were basically the best parts of that movie to me bc i love their original cinderella so yeah we are ABSOLUTELY keeping that. and the cast is v talented they just got an ass script not their fault
red & chloe are still two of the main characters but i’m adding a third too (we’ll get there) and they’re basically unchanged personality/backstory wise
the whole beginning up through red’s song is basically unchanged. uma’s still in charge and invites wonderland kids to auradon prep, except in this case it’s more than just the one
the queen of hearts/cinderella backstory is somewhat the same; they were friends in school and then there was a prank that caused the queen of hearts to become the tyrant we now know. we get this knowledge through further exposition in love ain’t it
okay and that’s literally it LMAOO let’s get into the characters now
the main three
so as i mentioned two of the main characters are still red and chloe basically unchanged from d4. so the third mc is, and i feel genius for this…. bridget!! but an oc version, not as the young queen of hearts. hear me out. pretty much everyone seems to agree young bridget was such a fun character and loves her, myself included, so i had to find a way to make her an mc. in my plot, she’s red’s sister! either twin sister or irish twins idrk either works, but i will be calling them the twins in this post. she’d realistically have a different name but in order to not cause confusion i’m going to keep calling her bridget in this post. she has the same personality and appearance as the movie, except she also has a bit of blind loyalty towards her mom, unlike red. she’s a sweetheart and hates the idea of hurting people, but she’ll do basically anything outside of that for her mother. she also has such an intense need to be liked that she’ll sometimes do things against her morals or ignore red flags — as seen with her mom. she and red do love each other but there’s still a lot of disconnect in their relationship because of their different dynamics with the queen of hearts and how different they are.
the other wonderland kids
so just like the og descendants movie, i would have it be four kids. obviously the two girls would be the twins, and then i would also add the mad hatter’s son and alice’s son. i would keep the mad hatter’s son kinda similar to the one we see in the movie, except he’s red’s age and more eccentric. i’m keeping his name maddox as well but we’d have to recast since the actor is a bit too old. he and red are still good friends and he tries to have her back and keep her out of danger like in the movie. unlike in the movie though maddox is a lot more fun and unique. he’s still more grounded than his father, but he was boring af in the movie for the mad hatter’s kid so he’d be more vibrant in my version. he’s the comic relief. i named alice’s son alex and he’s kind of what you’d expect — very curious and eccentric but still kind and smart. ppl get annoyed with him because he’s always asking loads of questions. he’s close with bridget.
the side characters
okay so admittedly this is probably where i put in the least thought lmao i don’t really have parentage/names for anyone here. but i want there to be a relevant vk kid who’s kind to the wonderland squad just to remind fans that the vks are still here and not all bad. but they would befriend maddox and alex in particular and it could be a fun little c plot. and then on the flip side the “villain” character is actually the kid of hero characters. it’d have to be someone more unpopular of course, maybe like a side character or something. but this character pretends to be friends with the wonderland kids, specifically bridget, but is only doing it to make fun of them with her friends. but these characters would expand on the original movies concept that you aren’t your parents yk.
the parents
i wouldn’t really change the parents much if at all! the casting is great but they’d be seen a little bit less in their adult forms & we wouldn’t see their young self at all. as for the mad hatter and alice, idk if we’d even see them but if we do it’s a very brief cameo like in the first descendants.
okay actual plot time!! lmao
so like i said the first part of the movie up to red’s song is basically going to be unchanged. uma decides to invite the wonderland kids to auradon prep, specifically selecting the twins, maddox, and alex to be the first four to be invited. the first song is unchanged it’s still red. maddox still ends up saving red’s ass but the scene is more comedic relief than anything with maddox’s changed character. we then get a bridget introduction with a brief interlude of life is sweeter (the full song would be later in the movie but i don’t want too many full songs clumped at once) that shows the differences between the two sisters. we would then cut to auradon to meet chloe, and that sequence is basically the same too.
the queen of hearts enters in the next scene, announcing the invitations to the twins. we also get a similar scene as in the actual movie of the queen trying to get red to decide on a punishment for the guard and refusing to kill him. she then tries the same with bridget, who also wants to save the man’s life, but tries to appease her mother by kind of talking in circles about why him being alive is somehow worse punishment. she begs her mom to let her to something else to make her happy but she doesn’t want to hurt someone. this is clearly a recurring pattern with the twins and their mom. the queen is disappointed in both girls and expresses this, but it clearly bothers bridget more outwardly than red.
we’d then cut into the love ain’t it song just for exposition purposes. in this version it would be a cut between the queen warning the twins about auradon and cinderella explaining some of the wonderland lore to chloe after getting news of the wonderland kids attending auradon. so they’re not at the school yet, meaning chloe hasn’t met red or anything. lyric changes would be necessary but the purpose is the same. the song establishes that the queen and cinderella used to be best friends as two outcasts at the school, but at a school dance a cruel prank got pulled on the queen, causing her to drop out and leave to wonderland. the queen didn’t used to be some sweet innocent like we saw in the movie, but she was less jaded according to cinderella.
the scene then cuts to a new day when the queen of hearts has decided to let the twins attend auradon. they have to leave right away. she’s come up with a grand plan on using her girls as spies to get information on auardon so she can plan a takeover. she doesn’t follow them to the school or try to take over immediately bc in what world would one person be able to solo an entire school of powerful magic users. i get she’s unhinged but no. bridget is immediately willing, relieved to have a task from her mother that doesn’t result in her having to directly hurt someone, while red clearly is uncomfortable with the idea but doesn’t say anything to her mom. the queen leaves to go fetch maddox and alex to allow them to attend auradon as well to cover for the twins. the idea is that while bridget and red are snooping around, maddox and alex will be actually innocent to cover it up. but the queen insists they can’t know of the plan. red and bridget have an argument about spying, red saying they shouldn’t enable her but bridget arguing that the queen is their mom. it’s clear bridget is kind of in denial that she’d still be contributing harm even if she’s not being directly violent. it establishes that bridget is a genuinely good person in most ways but is way too loyal to her mother and makes excuses she shouldn’t for her.
the twins fight gets interrupted by them having to leave to auradon so it’s left unresolved. the four wonderland kids go to auradon alone, like in the first descendants movie. they have a similarly awkward meeting with the other students, but instead of being seen as evil/scary, the students seem to think they’re bizarre. alex is asking 101 questions without taking a breath, maddox is trying to make jokes/observations but is just sounding kind of out of his mind, and bridget is so overexcited it makes people uneasy. red originally seems like the most normal, so chloe approaches her trying to befriend her. red shoots that down immediately, and the girls have an instant distaste for each other. instead of people being scared of the wonderland kids, people just think they’re weird/outcasts.
there’s scenes that establish that bridget is giving the queen of hearts actual helpful information to help a potential takeover — including very useful information about the museum when they take a class trip there. red, on the other hand, is instead giving her mother vague/partially true information with some flat out lies sprinkled in. she doesn’t want to cause her mother to flip out again, but she doesn’t want to help her either. with her experience rebelling against her mom, she’s able to not get caught in her actions. red and bridget argue about the spying throughout the movie.
despite their awkward first meeting, red and chloe keep getting paired up for things and continue to get on each other’s nerves. chloe also begins to get suspicious that red is planning something with her mother after hearing stories from cinderella. there’s probably a song here about their arguing. chloe thinks bridget is sweet and doesn’t suspect her, but continues to question red’s motives which is beyond infuriating for her since bridget’s the one actually spying. but she can’t say that and expose her sister because despite their disagreements they still have love for each other. perfect start for a rivals to frenemies to lovers arc if you ask me 👀 if we’re being real disney would tell me to go fuck myself with that but i said it’s MYYY descendants 4 so there is a lot of clear romantic tension here. small moments like red getting distracted mid insult by how pretty chloe looks that day or chloe complimenting red’s outfit without thinking. just little things to establish attraction but they still dislike each other on principle.
unlike red, the other wonderland kids are starting to find some friends at auradon despite seeming so odd on first meeting. red and bridget are naturally suspicious at first that people’s motives aren’t genuine after their mother’s story. bridget is actually the one that caved first though, as she is desperate for real friends and wants to fit in. maddox and alex bond with one of the vk’s who is also a bit of an outcast and that’s a c plot of the movie but i don’t have many concrete ideas for them since i’m focusing on the 3 girls mostly. but just know that’s happening! lol. eventually bridget gets paired up with a character well call “the bully” for a class assignment (as chloe and red are somehow paired up — again). bridget goes out of her way to be nice to this girl but isn’t getting anything in return. at the end of the class, there’s a scene of the bully talking with one of her friends and complaining about bridget. the friend suggests that the bully pretend to be bridget’s friend since it’s funny to make fun of her. the bully ends up inviting bridget to eat lunch with her friend group, and they pretend to like her just to laugh at her. bridget doesn’t pick up on this though. red tries to warn bridget against them, but bridget thinks she’s just being paranoid/jealous and ignores her. she has such a deep need to be liked that she ignores the red flags. this is also when bridget starts to question following her mother’s orders, but doesn’t tell red.
red is starting to feel like an outcast even among the wonderland kids with the others making friends. there’s a scene where maddox forgets about plans they had because his was with his new vk friend and they have a little spat over it. they end up making up within a few scenes though and maddox encourages red to try hanging out with him, alex, and their new friend. despite this she refuses to cave and let other people into her circle. oddly enough the person she probably talks to the most during this time is chloe.
the bully ends up learning about the prank that was pulled on the queen of hearts by overhearing the fairy godmother talking about it with another teacher. the other teacher is questioning putting on castlecoming out of concern it will be seen as an act of aggression to her daughters. but the fairy godmother insists on it continuing. the bully ends up devising a plan to make bridget castlecoming queen (or maybe a different title since there’s an actual queen lol but same idea) and turn her into a gross beast in front of everyone. it’s the same prank that happened to bridget’s mom.
as bridget believes she’s making genuine friends, she starts to consider how her actions will actually affect them. shes been feeling guilty the whole time but there’s a ballad here where it all comes to a head and she admits that even if she’s not the one swinging the sword, by spying she’s still putting the sword in her mother’s hands. she stops spying for her mom and starts ignoring her letters. she doesn’t have experience rebelling like red, so she doesn’t think to do what her sister does to avoid suspicion. it’s a moment of character growth. bridget tells red that she’s stopped spying, and red expresses how proud she is and they make up.
so in this movie, we actually get to SEE castlecoming bc why the fuck wouldn’t we!!!! we see all the characters in their outfits getting excited — even red is a bit giddy due to maddox joking with her and hyping her up. in the bathroom at the dance, chloe overhears the bully talking about her plan to prank bridget just like her mom was pranked all those years ago. she tries to warn bridget, but she runs into red instead. she tells red what she heard and the girls reluctantly team up to stop the prank. red gets maddox’s help too, but alex is with bridget all night and they aren’t able to tell him either. they keep either losing bridget in the crowd or being blocked by the bully’s friends. at one point red gets up to her sister and tries to pull her away to talk. bridget wants to go with her sister, but has to leave before red can explain everything because she got called up on stage as part of castlecoming court. red tries to run after her but gets blocked by the bully’s friends. she gets into an altercation with them, but maddox jumps in and the two of them together manage to win.
everything comes to a head when bridget is on stage being crowned castlecoming queen. the sad part is most people voted for her in earnest because she’s a sweet girl, but they ended up leading to her being humiliated on accident. red and chloe both corner the bully who has a spell book. maddox is trying to keep the bully’s friends distracted. unfortunately, chloe and red are just a second too late and the bully casts the spell before they can intervene. the bully then drops the book and manages to escape before anyone else sees it was them since everyone is watching the prank play out. it’s a carrie type moment but without all the murder obviously lmao. more just like vibes idk if that makes sense. as people are looking around to see who did it, someone locates the spell book right by red and chloe’s feet. as the fairy godmother hastily tries to undo the spell, someone yells out that it was chloe and red that did it. the girls start to panic and accuse the bully, but it’s too late because the evidence points to them. the bully of course jumps on this and goes to console bridget while declaring how evil red must be to betray her sister like this, and how hypocritical chloe is by pretending to be so high and mighty. maddox tries to defend them but it’s no use. in her anguish, bridget believes the bully. the movie ends with everyone in chaos and the sisters truly divided.
maybe there’d be a scene of the queen of hearts crashing castlecoming and seeing what went down but idk i kind of want the prank to be the climax of the movie yk. her shenanigans would come at a different time
in my head i also have the sequel for this written out LMAOO. that movie it would be about red and chloe trying to clear their names and catch the bully, while also trying to figure out how to stop bridget from helping her mother attack auradon (bc bridget would def align with her mom again after what happened). not that anyone is gonna read this mess of a post but i might write up the sequel anyways bc this was sooo much fun lmao

The Funeral
A little drabble of @sikudastoner’s OC Mabel and Helaena (and Tristan) I decided to write after the oc relationship ask game a few weeks ago!
Prince Tristan Dormaire looked almost peaceful atop the funeral pyre. He lay with his hands resting on the handle of his sword, over his heart, so that even in death he looked every bit the knight he was. On his brow had been placed the crown which had been made for him as a boy, a silver band with dragon wings adorning the sides and a glittering onyx in the center. He was dressed in black, for once without his Kingsguard armor, which he himself had discarded before his ill-fated flight over the Blackwater. Curled around him as if to protect him even in death was the remains of his dragon, Stormfyre, who had died with him.
Queen Helaena stood beside the pyre, her tear-streaked face hidden behind a black veil, the same one she had worn in mourning for her son. Her shoulder shook with quiet sobs.
Mabel’s heart ached for the grieving queen. She could not imagine the pain she felt, losing the one that she had loved.
“Each day feels like another tragedy,” Tyland murmured gloomily from beside her. “Yesterday it was Prince Jaehaerys. Today it was Ser Tristan. Who will it be tomorrow?”
Mabel said nothing, her gaze still caught on Helaena. Alicent Hightower had come to stand beside her now, rubbing her back as she whispered something in her daughter’s ear.
Concerned for her friend, Mabel slipped away from her husband and began approaching the pair.
“No, I don’t want to,” Helaena was saying, voice high and shaking with tears. “Please don’t make me do it.”
“You must, Helaena,” Alicent pressed. More softly, she added, “He would want it to be you.”
Instantly, Mabel understood what it was they were discussing. It was Helaena’s dragon, Dreamfyre, that was to light Tristan’s pyre.
The great blue dragon was perched behind the pyre, looking on with more distress than Mabel had thought possible of a dragon. The beast continued to let out low, mourning cries each time she looked down at the pyre. It was not only Helaena who was grieving. Her dragon was too. Stormfyre was her baby, she had hatched from her clutch. And so a woman had lost her lover, and a mother had lost her child.
“She’s right, Helaena,” Mabel spoke up. Both queens looked up at her as she spoke. Helaena was choking back sobs. “Tristan would have wanted you to be the one. He-he loved you. And he would have told you that you are strong enough to do this. And even if you don’t believe it, I do.”
She took Helaena’s shaking hand as she spoke.
“You can do this.”
Helaena stared at her for a long moment, lips quivering, then gazed down at Tristan one last time before turning her attention to Dreamfyre.
She did not have to speak a word for the dragon to know that she was looking. Mabel thought she could see the same pain reflecting in Dreamfyre’s eyes as Helaena’s.
And then Helaena spoke.
“Dracarys.”
Dreamfyre obeyed, shooting a burst of flame onto the pyre, and it was set ablaze.
And as it burned, as Tristan and Stormfyre were turned to nothing but ash and bone, Mabel held Helaena’s hand, and vowed to never again let it go.

Darik, The Spawn of the Ink Demon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*claps hands together* SO this is Darik, the newest BaTIM oc added to the Family :)
His voice claim for now if the English version of Deku from MHA. Idk his exact age yet, but he's not a kid is what I'll say. (So I guess if you really wanted to simp for him, I won't exactly say no)
I guess before I get into too much about him, I need to explain the AU first.
Darik was created by "followers" of the Ink Demon, who was imprisoned by the keepers. He whispered things in their minds, and influenced them to create an Heir to his throne. So, using the same ink and methods to create the Lord of The Dark puddles himself, the followers managed to infiltrate Wilson's base, and create a completely new character without his knowledge.
Made from the same Ink, blood, if you will, as the Ink Demon, Darik was born. An "Amalgamation" of multiple characters (Boris, Alice, even Audrey, and of course Bendy) Darik had no knowledge of why he was born or created, as the moment he was, he fled and went into hiding.
Since day one, he could hear his father's constant whispers in his mind, beckoning him to find him. Although, he is unaware of who his father is at the moment, but when he finds out, after hearing all the terrible things he's done... the result isn't exactly pretty.
He was taken in by the Crazed Musician Sammy and his partner Lilly the goat, for a short time. But, as you can tell, once Sammy found out he was the Heir he tried to turn Darik in to the Ink Demon, causing him to flee once again.
Everyone is against Darik, in his eyes. They either want to turn him into his father, who he desperately tries to escape from, or they wish to kill him, simply because the Ink Demon technically is his father. Wilson, the keepers, lost ones, and unfortunately, the beackons of so called hope, Allison and Tom wish to be rid of him as well.
Its more than difficult for this young Ink Imp to survive, but will he be able to suppress his violent urges? All I can say now is, those pent up emotions are NOT going to help in that case. Luckily, someone with her own "finding out your dad is a crazy person" problems has been keeping an eye on Darik. When he isn't trying to run from her, Audrey tries her best to help Darik when she can. Whether that's fighting off monsters before they can attack him, or leaving a few dead lost ones out in the open, to help his instinctual hunger when bacon soup won't cut it.
Its only a matter of time before the Ink Demon hunts down his son. He has a lot to teach his boy...
Yeah, kind of a long post but I was listening to Black Sea by Natasha Blume and I was just struck by this idea. Darik is MY son now btw and I will protect him with my life. His story needs more fleshing out, and I'm still trying to think of motivation for Mr. Ink Daddy to create a kid. If you have any ideas on that I'd love to hear em.

THE BLOOD CROWN
[Aemond Fanfiction ] reposted on wattpad
Pairing:  Aemond Targaryen x OC female!
Warning:  Dark Romance / Enemies to Lovers.
Summary
"𝗜𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹."
Queen Alicent had spoken the truth when these words had left her mouth, the moment the King decided not to punish Princess Rhaenyra's son for taking the eye of her child. In the night, in the safe place of her chambers, she gave the order to have Lucery's Velaryon taken and sold into slavery. But a regrettable misunderstanding causes Larys Strong's men to take, not the culprit, but Aemma Velaryon, Rhaenyra's youngest child, and banish her to a life of suffering and loneliness.
Aemma Velaryon had not been seen since then but the gods do not forget and sometimes fate strikes back harder than you would have expected.
PART 5
"Rose, come here, please," Helaena asked kindly, without a hint of command in her voice. Unusual for a woman of her position. After all, she was a Queen. Rose only a maid.
She had quickly discovered that Helaena was a good person. Never unkind, never disrespectful. Sometimes she was odd, she had to admit, but to Rose it only made her more endearing. The Queen often seemed sad and withdrawn, lonely and misunderstood, which is why Rose felt the need to take her in her arms.
"I want you to take this to Lucerys Velaryon," the Queen said, pointing to a plate of lemon cake.
 "This is cake," she added explanatorily, as if that were not obvious.
"You want me to bring this to Prince Velaryon?" repeated Rose, surprised. She didn't think the queen would even want to bring anything to the prince, who was obviously her enemy.
Helaena just nodded and smiled slightly before turning back to her knitting.
Obviously, that was the end of the conversation.
Rose gave a small curtsy and took the plate with the cake. She had to walk almost through the whole castle to arrive at the chambers of Lucerys Velaryon. The guard at his door, looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"The Queen wants me to take this to the prince," she explained, hoping he would believe her. He looked at her doubtfully for a moment before opening the door for her.
She was not surprised at the sight that presented itself to her.
Lucerys Velaryon still dressed for bed. His hair was unwashed and his skin pale. He was startled when he saw Rose. His wide-eyed look made him look innocent. Almost like a child, though he had to be older than Rose.
He regarded her for a moment before raising an eyebrow.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Rose, my prince."
Lucerys gaze slid to the plate in her hand. "I'm not hungry." He turned his head slightly to the side.
"The Queen sent it."
"Which one? My mother or the wannabe one who is put in this position by her husband's ilegitimate coronation?"
Rose swallowed. "My prince...," she had no answer as to how to respond. She served Queen Helaena, was loyal to her, and yet she understood the prince's words. His mother had always been officially the heiress to the throne and the king had never officially revoked this.
Prince Lucerys looked at her apologetically.
"I apologize for my words. I know the situation I am unfair to you. I'm not myself right now, usually I have better manners."
He tried to smile slightly, but it seemed forced, almost agonizing. He got up from his bed and took the plate from her hand.
"Thank you," he whispered hoarsely. As he stood thus before her, Rose noted that they were almost the same height.
"Of course, my prince."
"Would you like anything else, my prince?" she asked.
"Your company, perhaps?"
Rose looked at him in surprise. "You want my company?"
"The past few days here have been very lonely. The only visits I receive are for the purpose of surrender. Not particularly entertaining as I'm sure you can imagine."
Rose could imagine that. She had overheard some of the conversation. Otto seemed less than enthusiastic; Alicent, on the other hand, held firm that no harm might come to the prince.
"I'm not sure I have permission to do that..."
"Please," Lucerys breathed softly, almost pleadingly. "Just for a moment."
It would be wiser to say 'no'. To refuse and get out of the prince's chambers as soon as possible, but the sight of him pained her and she felt the need to offer him comfort. She saw a desperation in his eyes that she knew.
"As you wish," Rose finally said and sat down. It was not befitting her station to sit next to the prince, especially to do so without permission, but it was not necessarily the case that the prince could punish her for it.
Prince Lucerys looked at her in surprise. He smiled gently.
Rose had to confess, she had forgotten the time.
She had been so engrossed in her conversation with the prince that she hadn't noticed how long she had been in the room. It was nice talking to him.
Lucerys Velaryon was different than she had imagined. Polite, respectful, kind. After hearing that it had been he who had hurt Aemond, her image of him had not been the best.
But he was a good boy. A good soul.
"I have to say, there aren't many things that surprise me anymore, but I have to admit, this sight does surprise me."
Rose winced and turned around in a panic, looking directly into the eyes of Aemond, who was looking at her coldly.
His gaze was hateful, almost destructive, and Rose didn't know who his anger was directed at. Her or the prince who had scarred him forever.
She jumped up from her chair and Lucerys also stood up.
"I ordered her to stay, Aemond," Lucerys defended her, knowing full well that this could end in big trouble for her.
Aemond raised his eyebrow, unimpressed, and came closer.
"You take orders from a prisoner, woman?"
She appreciated Lucerys for his lie, but it only seemed to anger Aemond more. "I thought we already had that conversation about loyalty."
"Yes, my prince," Rose said humbly, her hands clawing at her dress.
"And yet here you are," he continued. "Sitting here with our enemy, talking about what...? How best to plunge a dagger into the king's heart?"
Rose looked up, startled. Panicked, terrified at what he was saying. Was he accusing her of treason just now? Rose knew what happened to men accused of treason, proven or not. None of them were still alive.
She shook her head. "I would never, I am-"
"Silence!" barked Aemond. "I'll deal with you later." Then he turned to his nephew, who looked at him with wide eyes.
"Are you trying to take advantage of our kindness, boy? Do you want me so badly to rip your heart out of your chest? I'd be happy to grant your wish."
"I did nothing wrong," Lucerys defended himself. "She didn't do anything wrong, we were just talking."
Aemond raised an eyebrow.
"She doesn't have to talk to you, bastard. She's ours, and you're not a guest to be entertained," Aemond said icily. "The sight of you is pathetic," he commented on Lucery's condition, after glancing up and down his body.
"Then let me go and you won't have to put up with it."
Aemond snorted. "You think this is funny, don't you? You've always thought everything was funny. Presented pigs as if they were dragons, took eyes as if they were yours, and acted like a king's ambassador when we know your mother wants to steal my brother's throne."
He stepped closer and Lucerys stepped back, but Aemond grabbed him by the arm.
"You always thought the world was yours, didn't you, nephew? Arrogant because the king was too blind to realize you were nothing but a bastard."
Rose looked at Lucerys in surprise. He was a bastard? She didn't know. She felt the need to protect the young prince and tell Aemond to fuck off.
"But you will learn humility here, or the pleasantries already placed upon you here will soon come to an end."
"My mother is the rightful Queen and-"
Aemond rang forward and grabbed Lucerys neck.
"Your mother is nothing but a whore."
Lucerys eyes grew impossibly large. He appeared to cry for a brief moment before pursing his lips and spitting.
Rose drew in a startled breath, shocked by the image that presented itself.
He spit Aemond in the face.
Aemond blinked and slid his fingertips over the saliva. He contemplated the saliva on his fingers for a brief moment before his gaze straightened and grabbed Lucerys. He yanked him from his chair and slammed him to the floor. The younger prince screamed and tried to fight back, but Aemond was bigger than him. And stronger. He had no chance.
He grabbed Lucerys by the hair, forced him to his knees, yanked his head back and pressed his dagger to his neck. A familiar sight for Rose, she herself had made the pleasure of feeling Aemond Targaryen's sword against her neck.
The two young men looked at each other with hostility, their gazes dancing, fire evident in them. Lucerys was breathing heavily. Suddenly, Aemond brought his dagger right under Lucerys' left eye.
"I should cut out your eye myself and deliver it to my mother," Aemond whispered, but Rose understood him well.
"Then do it, uncle," Lucerys pressed out. "Do it and be free of me." It was almost as if he longed for death.
Aemond looked at his nephew, stunned. "Free from you? You marked me for life. I will never be free of you. Whether I take your eye or your life, your crime will forever leave a scar."
"I didn't mean it," Lucerys breathed, the hostility draining from his gaze. "I was a child. I don't deserve this."
"Neither do I, taobus," Aemond roared. "We should have burned you when we had the chance."
Lucerys looked at him hatefully, but he remained silent.
Probably it was for the best.
"You're lucky my mother is protecting you. If it were up to me, you'd be dead by now. Just like your father."
Aemond waited for no reply. He turned, leaving a distraught-looking Lucerys biting his lips so hard Rose was sure blood must be oozing out.
She would have liked to take him in her arms and promise him that everything would be all right, but she couldn't.
"I'm sorry," Rose breathed softly to him and followed Aemond.
Rose followed Aemond silently and obediently. They went up the stairs and the further they got away from the guards, the more nervous she became. He hadn't said a word to her and she didn't know what he would do to her.
They said Targaryens were either blessed with greatness or cursed with madness. Rose wondered which of the two things applied to Aemond Targaryen.
"Who gave you permission to enter his room?"
The question was phrased almost so casually that Rose almost didn't notice it. She looked up in surprise, her heart beating hard against her chest.
"The Queen, my prince."
"Why?"
"I was supposed to bring him cake."
Aemond gave a snort.
"And did she order you to entertain him, too?"
She shook her head, well aware that Aemond had his back to her.
"Were you hoping for something?" the prince asked, not fazed by her lack of response. "Were you hoping for him to take you to Dragonstone after you freed him?"
Rose drew in her breath in horror. "My prince, I would never-"
He wouldn't let her finish.
"You are now under my command, starting right now," Aemond ordered. He turned and grabbed Rose by the arm, pulling her close to him, barely a hand's width of space between them. Fire danced in his eye. Though he had only one left, never before had a man looked at her like that. With so much power.
She swallowed.
"But the king put me under the Queen's authority, I-"
"I don't care what the king said or did, Rose. You do what I tell you, understand?"
Rose could have argued, could have refused, but it would do no good. Aemond was far above her, untouchable, untouchable. Just one word from him and she would lose her life. Her weakness to him was presented to her again, mocking her and paralyzing her. She was a nobody unlike Aemond Targaryen and always would be.
She lowered her eyes, a sign of submission, and she heard a satisfied growl from Aemond.
̶T̶H̶E̶ ̶B̶L̶O̶O̶D̶ ̶C̶R̶O̶W̶N̶
"I had a dream tonight, brother. One of those dreams."
Aemond had come to Helaena to inform her that he had taken Rose into his service. Without even knowing why he had done so.
His good eye turned to stare at her with a sharp measure of attention.
She had barely responded to his words, deep in thought as he knew her to be.
Hardly anyone understood Helaena, rare were the moments of clarity.
"You're usually so hard to see and interpret, but-"
"But?"
"I saw it. A bloody crown."
Aemond knew that Otto doubted Helaena's dragon dreams. He knew that even his mother sometimes struggled to believe them to be true. He didn't even have to start about Aegon. He had often enough laughed about it, insulted her. Yet Aemond believed her. For whatever reason.
"A bloody crown?"
Helaena nodded.
"That must have been a gruesome sight, sister."
Her lips curled into a small smile as she took Aemond's hand in hers.
"No brother," she said seriously. "It was liberating."
"Liberating?"
"The dragon will dance," Helaena began suddenly. "The beast will come, and will bring the blood crown before the fire devours it."
Aemond looked at her in irritation. He reached for her other hand but Helaena tore loose and suddenly jumped up. Suddenly she looked distraught.
"A dragon made of paper, soaked in blood, continues the disaster. The death of one's own blood will come and blood will be known."

Summary: At the funeral, Lorelei sees a face from her past and learned a little about Will. They start to find they have more in common than they thought.
Warnings and content: Death of an abusive parent although there isn't much on that right now. Will is compartmentalizing. Talk of past child abuse, divorce, dad leaving, colorism from a parent. Will is emotionally constipated.
****************
It was hot.
Lorelei was trying her best to be supportive but also mind her place. She wasn’t Will’s girlfriend. Mrs. Miller greeted her kindly and thanked her for coming, but se knew she was mostly a source for gossip. Alice, was Ben’s actually girlfriend and was allowed to mourn and be fawned over. Lorelei was there to be support. Will spent a few days largely away, and even headed out today, road separately. Jana asked if Lorelei would like to join her and Frankie to the services and memorial. This ended up being helpful.
Lorelei was about 4 months along and was showing, but certainly had gained weight and all her black dresses were too tight, not only for a funeral but for the muggy middle Florida weather in general. Jana was a size or so above Lorelei and brought over a few options for a more respectable and practical clothing for the weather.
The Millers lived on a farm just outside of the small town they lived in. Lorelei, Will and all the others all lived in a mid-sized town in the same county. The funeral was in the country, a gravesite a mile out from the baptist church and full of bugs that added to the uncomfortable air around them. Paul Miller was not well liked, but Jenna, Will and Benny were and the politics of a small town lead to a lot of obligations. It became clear this week that Jenna’s family was fairly prominent in the town, a “founding family” perse. Jenna and Paul’s marriage was a love match to be sure, many people wondering why a nic well-to-do girl was marrying into a poor farm boy, but Paul could turn on the charm. The marriage was a different story. Paul was an alcoholic and while Will was fairly tight lipped on exactly what happened, Lorelei knew there was abuse.
Will had urged her to sit in his seat during the funeral services, but afterwards Lorelei was attempting to get some fresh air from the crowds. It was clear the family was lage on both sides and very friendly, and Lorelei was growing tired of all the questions. Will had been protective, simply stating she was a friend and cutting anyone off who seemed to be prying. Lorelei was showing, but not obvious enough that it couldn’t just be passed off as a belly. Right now, Will was otherwise engaged in consoling his mother, so Lorelei was left to her own devices and took the chance to walk away. Lorelei wasn’t a big smoker, but she dabbled in stressful times and she was craving one bad. Or some red wine. God, that would be nice right now.
She placed a hand on her belly. “You’re lucky I love you,Tũn.”
“And here I thought you just got fat.”
Tyler.
Lorelei turned around. “What the hell are you doing here?”
 Seeing Tyler for the first time in months was always a bit stark, but Tyler now stood in Will’s shadow, and the contrast was startling. Tyler was not that good look. Not unattractive, but he really is just some guy. This, compared to Will’s handsome face was almost embarrassing that Lorelei had settled for him, but the difference in treatment was the biggest black and white. Even before Tyler slapped her, which Lorelei let happen only once, Tyler was never good. He was a loser, frankly. Will had only ever treated her with respect, long before the pregnancy and even before their friendship.
Will would have never suggested she was fat.
Tyler pointed to where her hand still rested on her stomach. “How long did it take you to fuck him, a week? I’d assume you did it that night, but Will’s knight in shining armour game wouldn’t allow for him to fuck you with a red mark on your face.”
“And just how was your face that night?” She snapped back. “Last I remember, you were in worse shape than me.”
“Everything okay here?” Santi’s voice drew her eyes to the side. He was walking towards her, arm around a flushed Laci who was holding a water bottle. She didn’t look well, and no doubt Santi was taking her to the car. The cars were parked in almost the opposite direction from her, however, so what was he doing here?
“Yeah.” She lied, turning to Tyler. “Tyler was just leaving.”
Santi recognized the name, as did Laci by the way she turned to Santi. His arm drew her tighter to him, but he stayed put, his face settling darker. “I think that’s a good idea.”
“I’m not leaving.” Tyler objected. “I know the Millers better than Lora does.”
Lorelei scoffed. “You said yourself you didn’t like Will or Ben.”
“Paul Miller was my bus driver and Mrs. Miller was my sunday school teacher. Just because you spread your legs and got knocked up doesn’t make you part of their family.”
“Watch it” Santi warned.
Lorelei wanted to handle this on her own, but knew she couldn’t do what she had 4 months back. She wouldn’t get in a fight while pregnant.
Tyler turned to Santi. “And who the hell are you?” He looked at Laci. “Aren’t you Benny’s girlfriend?”
Laci didn’t even attempt to respond, her mouth sealed shut. No doubt the whole day had been overwhelming, sensory overload for the sensitive girl and likely put her non verbal.
Santi looked to Lorelei and shot his eyes to Laci, and Lorelei got the hint. She stepped over to them and placed an arm around the wobbly girl. He stepped up to Tyler. Santi was shorter than the rest of the guys, but was no less of a force to be reckoned with. She’d seen it in defense of Laci with the creep at the bar, and Lorelei had no doubt it would come out if Tyler said anything about Laci-
“You stay the fuck away from Lorelei, I don’t want to fucking see you at the Miller house, understood?”
Oh. He was defending her.
“I’ll ask you again. Who. The fuck. Are you?”
“I’m the person who's going to kick your ass if you don’t leave her alone.”
Tyler must have been in a fighting mood today. He drew back his hand and swung, but before Laci had time to do anything but gasp, Santiago had taken hold of his hand, turned around and flipped Tyler onto his back with a thud. Lorelei looked to the crowd, and it didn’t seem anyone had noticed. When she turned back to the scene before her, Santi had pulled Tyler up by his collar and shoved him away.
“Offer your condolences to Mrs. Miller, and then fucking leave. If I see you near Lorelei again, it won’t just be me you’re dealing with.”
Tyler scrambled away, and Santi quickly took Laci back in his arms. “Are you okay, baby?”
Laci’s eyes were heavily lidded, and didn’t respond.
Lorelei clocked the heat exhaustion right away. “She needs to get in cool air, now.”
Santi nods. “We were on our way to ask if you wanted to join us,” He bent down slightly, scooping Laci up under her knees and carrying her. Laci weakly signed something that Lorelei couldn’t quite make out. She knew a little sign language but mostly conversational and in a hospital context. “Don’t worry about it.” Santi whispered, then turned to Lorelei as he started walking. “C’mon. The heat isn’t good for pregnant people.”
Lorelei followed them to the car where Lorelei instructed him to put Laci in the back so she could tend to her. As Santi drove to the farm, Lorelei coaxed her to drink water. The house was unlocked, church members setting up food for the memorial service and soon Lorelei was in full nurse mode. Santi buzzed with nerves, asking about a hospital but after checking her temp and her vitals, Lorelei said it was just heat exhaustion, not heat stroke. Santi then helped her walk to Benny’s childhood bedroom to rest as he cared for her and kept her awake.
When Will and Benny came in, it was clear they were fighting. “You’re such a fucking child, Benny!”
“You’re the one that tried to leave me on the goddamn road!” Benny was clearly drunk, slurring his words at 2 in the afternoon.
They went back and forth until Santi shouted down the stairs that Laci was resting.
Will yelled back to shut the hell up; Benny stopped yelling, knowing how badly Laci’s nerves affect her. Will stormed away, and Lorelei followed. When she found him, he was sitting on a twin bed in a room that clearly used to belong to a teenage boy.
“Was this your room?”
Will didn’t look away from the Attack of the Clones poster. “Yeah.”
“Can I sit?”
He nodded. “Yeah.”
Lorelei waited a few moments before talking. Will clearly needed a breather. They sat in silence for a few minutes and Lorelei took in his room. It was a jock’s room, clearly, with Miami Heat memorabilia around, but also a little bit nerdy. There was a box set of the Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and the Similarian, all looking well worn, and of course some Star Wars here and there. Will never showed that side of him.
“I like the posters. Were you a little nerdy in high school?” She asked, breaking the ice.
Will huffed a short laugh. “Yeah, I guess. Nerdy enough anyway. That surprise you?”
“A little.”
“And why’s that?” It seemed a genuine question.
She hesitated an answer. “Well your… you.”
Finally, Will turned to her, brow furrowed in question. “What does that mean?”
“Well, you… you. You’re strong, you give off football player energy.” He had been in football, after all. She knew that from stalking him via Tyler’s year books.
He still looked ticked off, leftover energy from the fight with Benny. “You think I was a dumb jock?”
“A little.” She tried to defuse the tension with a joke. “I mean you did go into the military, so I’m assuming the athletic scholarship didn’t work out?” Immediately after saying it, Lorelei regretted it. She knew she had a tendency to be rude, to say the first thing that comes to mind, and most people deserved it.
Will didn’t, and he snapped. “You think the smartest person in the room at all times, don’t you?” When Lorelei didn’t respond, he continued. “You have that air about you, you know. Maybe that’s why you don’t make friends.”
That hurt, and now she was on the defense and stood up in preparation for a fight. “Maybe I’m not the smartest person in the room, but I don’t see a lot of competition.”
Will stood up, matching her energy. “You don’t even have the highest education out of us, you know that?”
She didn’t know that, actually.
Will continued. “Jana has a masters degree in social work. Could hav gotten her dctorate two but didn’t see a point. She chose to make shit pay to help people when she probably could have gotten some fancy well paying job. Laci has a bachelors in psych. I know every see’s her as helpless, and you and Alice think she’s a ditz”
“I don’t-”
“But she is plenty smart. And Frankie, Frankie doesn’t have a degree but he’s a fucking enginier, Lore. You know what kinda brains you gotta have to do that shit? He got a 98 on his ASVAP. And me? I got into med school. I could have been a doctor, Lorelei, so I’d appreciate it if you stopped talking down to me.” After a pause, Will averted his eyes and sat down on the bed, mumbling a sorry with his face in his hands.
Lorelei stood in front of him, taking in his words. He was right, she did have a stuck up attitude. Will didn’t deserve it. Neither did Benny, Frankie, Jana, Laci or even Santi. Santi had proven to her that he was a good man the last few days.
“You got into med school?”
Will nodded into his hands. “Yeah. Took online classes. I was a combat medic so was able to get a lot of credits counted that way, and took dual credit in high school. Was supposed to leave the army to go.”
She spoke softly. “What happened?”
Removing his hands, Will flopped backwards on the bed as he spoke. “Same thing that always happens. Benny.”
Lorelei joined him, grunting a bit as she sat and laid back, black hair sprawling everywhere. “Go on.”
Out of the corner of her eye, Laci saw Will turn to her, staring before turning back to watch the ceiling fan. “Ben popped positive on a drug test. He was inlisted at the time, doing real well too…”
Oh shit. “What was he on?”
“Coke, just like every fucking person I’ve ever loved, it seems.” Will was shaking.
Lorelei knew Frankie and to a lesser extent Jana had suffered from addiction to cocaine.
“So what happened?”
“Tom called me. He was a friend from when him, me, Jana, and Santi were stationed together… He had moved his way up a lot and was starting a special ops team.” Will took a deep breath. In through his nose, out his mouth. His shaking stilled. “He said he could make it go away if me and Ben agreed to join his team… so I did.”
Will’s love for his brother never failed to surprise her. “You’re a good man, Will.”
Will shrugged. “He’s my brother.”
“My siblings would never do that for me.”
Will turned to her, and she looked to him in turn. Their faces were close, as close as they had been the night they almost kissed before they fucked. “Would you do it for them?”
“In a heartbeat.” She whispered.
“That’s the sacrifice for older siblings to bear.”
They turned back to the ceiling, laying there for a moment and feeling the cool air of the fan on their skin. “I was an accident.” This caused Will to turn to her briefly before turning back. “My parents were both second generation, living in Philly. They got married at 18 to avoid the scandal… in the 2000’s in a Vietnamese area, it would have been a hoopla. Well, didn’t do much to save face as they got divorced when I was 8, my dad walked out. I didn’t see him for ten years.”
“Jeez, Lore, I’m sorry.”
She continued. “Mom remarried, had a daughter, my sister Sophie. I was about 13 then, 15 when she had Colin. My mom and step dad treated me like I was an outsider. I was too interested in my family's culture back then… I was obsessed with old Hollywood. I was accused constantly of being too western. First time I wore red lipstick, my step dad called me a whore and rubbed it off with his palm… I went back upstairs and applied it again anyway.”
She could feel Will tense next to her. “I love being vietnamese. It’s just at the time… I wanted to be different, look different. I wanted to be an actress for a while, but my mom told me my skin was too dark” Lorelei chuckles sardonically. “I spent years of college trying to lighten my skin, make my eyes look less asian… My sister was the perfect Asian daughter. My step dad had much lighter skin, so she did too. She was docile, agreeable, quiet…  everything I wasn’t. There’s always a divide between us, even today… I think her and Collin think of me as the bad guy, the reason there were fights in our house… but I’d give my life for them in a heartbeat.” She laughed again. “It’s funny, I’d do almost anything for them except pick up the phone to talk.”
Will laughed along with her. He reached out his hand, thankful that she allowed him to hold it. “I’m sorry you were treated like that. You didn’t deserve it.”
“It’s nothing compared to what you went through.”
“How do you know what I went through?”
“You aren’t as hard to read as you think you are.” A pause. “Is that why you won’t take off your shirt?”
Another pause. “Is that why you don’t kiss?”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah.”
*
Eventually, they returned to the memorial, a crowd of people having joined. Lorelei rubbed Will's arm encouragingly, and Will put on his best host face.
Laci had returned from her rest, Santi still fussing over her and insisting she stay sitting and drinking water. Frankie sat down by Lorelei as Jana messed with Santi across the room to a giggling Laci.
“How’s Will?” He asked sincerely.
She sighed. “He’s struggling. More than he’s letting on. Him and Ben got in a fight.”
Frankie laughed. “Yeah, that’s not unusual. He tell you what it was?”
“No.”
“It was so stupid.” Frankie shook his head, smiling. “Benny was trying to get Mrs. Miller to admit Paul was an asshole and she wasn’t happy with him.” Will stopped the truck and pushed Ben out and told him to walk home. Benny caught up and jumped on the truck bed and was stuck there the whole ride back, pouting.
Lorelei could picture it. “Their dad, he was… pretty bad, wasn’t he?”
Frankie grew solom. “Really bad. Will took the brunt of it though, always deflecting what Ben was supposed to get onto him.
Tears began to form, prickling at her eyes at the thought.
“Excuse me, sorry.” She needed to step away, she couldn’t show vunerability like this. Frankie asked if she was okay, but she said she needed to use the bathroom.
Lorelei tucked herself away in a hall, away from prying eyes. He was so kind, he was so good… it pained her to know he had been hurt like that. She just wanted to hold little blonde Will, she just wanted to tell him that everything would be okay… she wanted to protect him and keep him safe.
“You alright there, young lady?”
Lorelei looked to see an old man shuffle in, but keeping a respectful distance. He looked kind but concerned.
She sniffled, wiping away a tear. “Yes, thank you. Just a hard day.”
The old man nodded. He glanced only ever so slightly at her stomach, but quickly back up. She couldn’t blame him, especially when he never mentioned it. “You’re a friend of Will’s, aren’t you.”
Friend. “Yes sir. Just hear for support.”
He smiled. “He sure seems to have a lot of support, I’m glad to see. I’m Gideon.” He extended a withered hand to her.
Will’s maternal grandfather, “Oh! I’m Lorelei. You must be mrs. Miller’s grandfather. Im so sorry for your-”
He held up a hand, twinkle in his eye. “Paul was an asshole, my dear, I’m sure you know.”
Lorelei couldn’t help but chuckle. “I know. I met him once, and he did not make a good impression.”
Gideon laughed along with her. “I’m sure. Miss, if I may be so bold…”
“Please” He seemed kind; his presence was calming. A strong strength that Will possesed as well.
“I know you two are having a baby… Jenna told me.”
Lorelei began to worry; what would this old man think? A baby outside of marriage? Would he have an issue she was vietnamese? Hell, had he fought in Vietnam-
“And I’d just like to welcome you to out family.”
Oh. “Well... Will and I, we aren’t dating…” She attempted to clarify, but Gideon waved her off. “That doesn’t matter. You know Laci?” He pointed to the kitchen where Benny and Frankie had joined her, Santi and Jana. Will walked up at well, greeting Jana and Benny both with arms around their shoulders. “Laci like a granddaughter I never had. Her and Benny come over often, she always cooks, sweet girl she is.”
“She’s lovely.” Lorelei agreed.
“They come around less now that Benny is with that McCarthy girl, but se la vi” he said, waving his hand dismissively. “Laci is family. Hell, they're all family.” Gideon looked back at Lorelei. “And so are you. You’re a part of this family. Now,” He gently nudged her toward the group. “Go enjoy before Alice finds you.”
Lorelei laughed, drying the last of her tears and thanking him. She walked up to Will, sliding between him and Benny. Will smiled down at her, pulling her a few steps aside. “Hey Lore, you okay?”
She nodded. “I met your grandpa. He’s really nice.”
Will smiled at that. “Pops is the best… We’ll talk to him more in a bit. I just… I wanted to ask you on Rosie’s birthday, but I forgot, and then this whole week…” Will shook his head. “Listen, the VA I volunteer at is having its annual charity fundraiser, and they let me choose the non-profit.” He smiled proudly. “I chose the women’s shelter Jana and Laci work for.”
Lorelei smiled up at him, heart swelling in the pride he obviously felt. Will did a lot for the VA, it makes sense they let him pick. “That’s great Will, congratulations.”
“Well, the thing is…” He rocked back on his heels a bit, a nervous energy in him that she wasn’t used to seeing. “It’s a ball. Fancy as shit and all that… Santi, Frankie and Ben are taking Laci, Jana and Alice… and I was hoping…” Deep breath in, deep breath out. “You’d like to go with me?”
She was a bit shocked to say the least. “When is it?”
“It’s two months from now.”
Her heart dropped a bit. “Oh… well… I’m going to be at almost 6 months by that point…”
His smile faltered, looking down at the floor. “Oh, yes, of course I bet you wouldn’t be very comfortable at that point-”
“No, I mean… I’ll be showing… more…”
He looked confused. “Yeah?”
“Well… do you really want a girl you knocked up? Don’t you have some pretty girl-”
Will’s eyes were wide with horror “I don’t want to bring anyone else, Lore. I want to bring you. You’re my best friend, you are a pretty girl. You’re pregnant, not knocked up. We are having a baby, and Lorelei…” Will sighed, a little wistfully, placing a careful hand on her stomach, his blue eyes connecting with hers. “I’m happy. I’m happy were having this baby and I love them, and you, more than I thought possible…” Will’s eyes shown with the emotion of his words. “You are both my family, and I love you.”
As Lorelei listened to him talk, she lost herself for a moment thinking he was professing something different, that the love in his words was romantic… then she remembered their position, she remembered that this was not a fairy tale. She had to be happy with what she had. A loving father of her child, and a so-far healthy baby on the way. It wasn’t a fairy tale, but everything was going to be okay. She was going to be a mom, they were going to break the cycle of hers and Will’s families, and unlike her and Will, this baby would have a father who loved them.
“I’d love to go to the ball with you, Will.” She placed a hand on one cheek and kissed the other, making him blush. “But I might be wearing New Balance nursing shoes.”
********************
ngl Lorelei needed to get knocked down a peg.
But they are seeing a little more eye to eye at least now.

“What do you mean?” Carlisle asked, threading carefully on what will happen next
“You’re not human.” Celine concluded with Carlisle not answering her question immediately “What are you?”
“My love…” Carlisle started, looking at her, but he was met with no kind of adoration in her eyes anymore “Yes, I am not human. But I do not intend on harming you.”
“I know.” Celine said, the glint of calmness was now back in her eyes “I just need to know what you are. For my peace of mind, I guess.”
“You’ll either laugh or get extremely concerned if I tell you what I actually am.” He whispered lowly, ashamed of himself
“A vampire?” Celine asked him again
“How did you know?” Carlisle asked almost immediately. He looked at Celine, realizing that she didn’t actually know and that it was just a rough guess that he confirmed.
“A vampire? In a hospital?” Celine asked her, her eyebrows furrowed at the irony of it. There were so many questions running in her mind
“I-I have to go.” Carlisle answered, standing up and picking up his clothes, quickly wearing his shirt and rushing out of her house to his car
‘She knows’ Carlisle was panicking as he drove off back to their house. Thoughts swirled chaotically in his mind, making it impossible for him to think straight. He hit his steering wheel in anger before driving back home in silence, his grip on the steering wheel painfully tight
“Celine knows.” Edward announced to everyone, carefully reading Carlisle’s thoughts
“What do you mean, ‘she knows’? We were careful with it.” Rosalie asked her
“We were careful, Carlisle probably wasn’t.” Edward continued in conclusion “I tried telling you that this was the same as with me and Bella before, but no one believed me.”
“Will we have to move?” Renesmee asked
“No, no. Carlisle will decide on that.” Bella assured her “Besides, we can’t move yet, you need to finish your high school.”
“Well, with what’s happening, we might have to.” Rosalie said, sitting down on one of their couches
“I’m sure Carlisle will have an explanation.” Esme said, trying to calm everyone down. She was just as nervous; would they really just leave Celine like that?
“She figured it out on her own.” Edward said, reading into her mind “She’s not mad. Actually, she’s driving to our place now, at an incredibly dangerous but legal speed. Celine wants to chat with Carlisle.”
“Carlisle left her?” Emmett asked “Weren’t they just having sex earlier?”
“Emmett!” Edward yelled, covering Renesmee’s ears as she laughs at their antics
“My question still stands. Weren’t they just doing something earlier?” Emmett said, chuckling as Renesmee lightly slaps Edward’s hand off her, wanting to listen to what was happening
“Yeah, she’s kind of annoyed about that. But she’s more annoyed that Carlisle just ran away.” Edward said, still reading into Celine’s mind
“Couldn’t even wait until she fell asleep.” Rosalie said, playfully rolling her eyes
“So, you’re warming up to her now?” Jasper asked, teasing her lightly
“I mean, you heard Alice.” Rosalie shrugged “One way or another, she’s gonna be a vampire. We only prevented that rogue vampire from doing it early on.”
“You just want her to not jump first into being one of us?” Bella asked her, knowing and understanding what Rosalie now meant when she was still human
“She’s smart, she would think of the consequences first.” Esme said, already having heard stories about Celine from Carlisle “Besides, Carlisle won’t push her into that.”
“Carlisle is—
“I fucked up.” Carlisle announced, rushing in the house. All of them yelled and closed their eyes, having just seen him in his boxers
“Carlisle, go wear something!” Esme scolded, getting Carlisle to rush up to his room and get dressed into something more casual
“He technically told Celine that we’re vampires.” Edward told everyone as he rushes down the stairs
“Did you even see her reaction?” Jasper asked, Carlisle only shook his head no
“Well now you will, because she’s outside the house.” Jasper said, opening the main door of their house, seeing Celine
“You didn’t tell me that your house was very cold.” Celine said as a greeting to everyone, shivering from the coldness
“Come, let’s talk in my office. Then I’ll introduce you to my family.” Carlisle said, walking to her and taking her hand, leading her to his office
“What now?” Celine asks, rubbing her hands together in an attempt to warm her down. Carlisle immediately grabbed the hanged coat in his office and placed it on her shoulder. The sight of her in his clothes warming him up a bit
“I don’t know.” Carlisle muttered lowly “What do you want now?”
“Well,” Celine said, sitting on the table of his office “I’m not scared that you’re a vampire, if you’re worried about that. And I don’t plan to make that this week’s hospital gossip too, if you’re somehow more worried about that.”
“Thank heavens.” Carlisle let out a big sigh
“Why?” Celine asked him “Is it like a vampire law to not let any non-vampires know about your existence?”
“Kind of, it’s tough to explain.” Carlisle answered, moving closer to her. He knows that he won’t do much help with her being cold, he just wanted to be near her
The silence between the two was comforting but nerve-wracking. Carlisle couldn’t figure out what was going on Celine’s mind
‘Probably filled with calling me a monster’ a part of his mind said to him
“I think you owe me the truth.” Celine whispered softly, looking at him with a smile “The whole truth, no more of that weird ex-girlfriend stuff. Because you and I both know that that was a very shit lie.”
“Where do you want to start then?” Carlisle asked, walking and grabbing some chairs for her to sit on
“How old are you?” Celine immediately asked, sitting down on the chair that he offered to her
“You have to be a bit more specific than that, my love.” Carlisle chuckled softly, joining her in sitting down
“All of your ages then.” She told him. Her eyes had this twinkle of curiosity, wanting to know more about him
“Well, I was 23 or so when I was turned into a vampire.” He answered, as Celine furrowed her eyebrows, he took it as a sign to continue “It was the 1600’s, we didn’t have a really good date tracking date by then.”
“You’re roughly 300 years old.” Celine said, a shock on her face
“382 to be exact.” Carlisle revealed, getting him to shy away.
‘Now it looks creepy’ he thought to himself, watching her reactions
“Wow, never thought I’d date that old.” Celine teased him, getting him to let out a sigh of relief
“To be fair, you are already four years older than me in a sense.” He tried to tease her, letting out a small laugh
“I’m four years older than you and 350 years younger than you at the same time. I wish I could say that the math isn’t mathing but it is.” She said, a smile resting on her face.
And Carlisle could only wish that he could freeze the moment between them, take a picture of them and engrave it in his mind, a memory that would remind him of their short-term happiness.
Because who would choose an eternity of being stuck the way you are?
“Esme is 127, Edward and Alice are 121, Rosalie and Emmett are 107, and Jasper is 178 but he’s the last to join us alongside Alice, minus Bella.” Carlisle continued introducing his family
“Bella? As in Bella Swan? As in the chief’s daughter?” Celine asked as ne nodded in response
“She’s with Edward, she’s 35.” Carlisle continued “And the youngest, Renesmee, she’s 16. Edward and Bella’s daughter.”
“So, humans and vampires can procreate too?” Celine asked lowly
“Yeah, but if you think that I’m only pursuing you for that, then you’ve got it all wrong.” He immediately assured her
“Then why pursue me?” Celine asked, looking at him, her eyes begging him for an answer
As Carlisle gazed at Celine, a profound sense of sorrow washed over him. The weight of her pain and self-doubt bore heavily upon his heart, stirring a deep well of empathy within him. He longed to ease her burden, to carry her suffering as his own. Carlisle realized that she always doubted herself underneath the confident aura, thinking that she was worth nothing if she couldn't bear a child.
“Because my heart belongs to you. I belong to you.” Carlisle answered as he stood up, his hands cupping her cheeks and leaving a peck on her forehead
Celine wiped the tears threatening off her face. Never has she felt so loved until now, until with Carlisle. He hugged her, thinking that the tears coming out of her were tears of sadness, of disappointment with herself.
“You’re so kind to me.” Celine mumbled, wrapping her arms around him
They stayed in that moment. Celine has never thought to feel this way so easily about a man, it’s like she was drawn to him. It was as though the universe had conspired to craft their love story, aligning the stars to guide them together.
He was made for her.
“Are you two good now?” A brown-haired woman asked, checking in the office. She was jaw-droppingly gorgeous, getting Celine to subtly feel inferior to her
‘Why did Carlisle not end up with her?’ She questioned to herself
“We are, Esme. Just needed to collect ourselves.” Carlisle answered to her, wiping off the tear stains before leaving small kisses on the apples of her cheek
“Good, your kids are dying to meet her.” Esme said, a smile on her face.
She was gorgeous, her brown hair rested nicely on her shoulders, her eyes held the same golden shade that Carlisle had. Esme had this maternal aura around her, subtly informing Celine that the Cullens is in no need of a mother figure to fill in
‘Then what am I here for then?’ Celine questioned to herself, stopping her face from forming a frown
“Well, since you’re here.” Carlisle said, motioning Celine to come closer to him “My love, this is Esme. My sister.”
“Hi, I’m Celine!” Celine greeted her with a smile and a small wave. Carlisle instinctively placed his arms around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him. Esme immediately liked her energy.
Celine was a fresh breath on a warm day, the one that feels like you’re being lifted by the wind itself.
“We’ve heard a lot about you.” Esme said, opening the door a bit wider for them to go out of “Come, I’m sure the kids would love to meet you.”
“Rosalie is kind of…iffy with you right now. But she’ll come around.” Carlisle warned as they walked out the room. There were seven looking adults, all looking and watching them as they come down the stairs
“Everyone,” Carlisle said as they get down the last step of the stairs “This is Celine.”
“Hi!” A girl with a pixie cut greeted. Celine couldn’t help but notice how she was towered by everyone else in the room “I’m Alice! I’ve seen this happen.”
“Alice, don’t—
“Oh, it’s alright.” Celine assured to the guy with brown hair, a face that was vaguely familiar to her “After finding out that vampires are real, what more is there to limit the imagination?”
“I’m Bella.” Bella introduced herself “Though I know you already know that, seeing as I remember seeing you grow up.”
‘At least there’s a familiar face’ she thought, letting out a small sigh of relief
“You make it weird saying it like that.” Another guy with brown hair teased Bella. He was really buff, getting Celine to be intimidated “Emmett by the way. This is my wife, Rosalie.”
The woman that Emmett pointed at, Rosalie, only looked at her. A face that Celine can’t seem to figure out what it was saying to her. Rosalie was drop dead gorgeous, any insecurity that she felt earlier to Esme was now tripled in Rosalie’s presence. Her gold hair, which was tied up in a ponytail right now, shone golden.
‘I don’t belong here’ her mind cruelly told her
“Babe, don’t do this now, please?” Emmett said to his wife, rubbing her shoulders to try and calm her down
“It’s fine. Must be unusual having a human be over casually.” Celine assured them again.
‘Who am I to complain about their behavior?’ she thought to herself
“I’m Edward, Bella’s husband.” Edward, the guy that tried to stop Alice earlier, introduced himself “And this is our daughter Renesmee.”
Renesmee waved her hand at Celine cheerfully. Whatever kind of nervousness she got from Rosalie was relieved with Renesmee. She was a walking sunshine.
“I’m Jasper.” A blond guy, Jasper, said with a small wave. He shared the same hair color as Rosalie did, though his was just above his collar “Pleasure to finally meet you.”
“Pleasure to meet you too.” Celine said to everyone
Celine felt awkward with everyone’s eyes on her, getting a feeling that she wouldn’t fit in their perfectly made illusion of a family. It was making Celine feel pity for herself.
“Carlisle, have you told her?” Edward asked quietly
“Tell me what?” She asked instead of Carlisle
“My kids…” Carlisle started slowly “Some of them have special gifts. Edward can telepathically read minds, Alice can see into the future, Jasper can control emotions, Bella can block Edward’s telepathy and basically anything that is of the using of mind, and Renesmee can transmit thoughts to others.”
“So—
“I didn’t intend to, but it was practically just yelling.” Edward confirmed her suspicion, getting Celine to push her lips in a thin line and just nod in response
“I do not plan into turning you into a vampire—
“Thank you.” Celine said, looking at Carlisle “I’d love to do some thinking first before making a final decision.”
“What?” Bella asked, her eyes widened at Celine
“It won’t be an easy transition for me.” Celine answered, looking at Bella “It may have worked out for you, but it wouldn’t immediately work out for me.”
“I would understand if you also would want to go back to how we were.” She continued, now turning her attention to Carlisle “Seeing as I’m technically rejecting you now.”
“Oh no, I don’t see that as a rejection.” Carlisle said, shaking his head no to her “Even if for a short while, I would love to be given a chance to pursue you. To make you feel loved and appreciated.”
‘It will be more than enough for me to carry for eternity’ Carlisle wanted to add. He looked at Edward and slightly shook his head no, asking him to not say what his thoughts wanted to
“Are you sure?” Celine asked him again
“Of course.” Carlisle answered almost immediately, a comforting smile on his face
“Then, I think a second date should be in the talks soon.” Celine said, kissing Carlisle’s cheek before walking to the front door
“It’s been an honor to meet you all.” She said, looking around the family that was watching her “I would assume that it won’t be the last time we’ll see each other.”
Celine walked out and closed the door behind her. The family was listening intently for her car to leave before even thinking of saying their thoughts out loud
“…I think that went well.” Esme said, her hand clasped together and her lips pushed in a thin line “It didn’t, that was shit.” Rosalie said, shaking her head no at Esme “At least she wasn’t jumping headfirst into being a vampire.”

Broken bonds
Paring: Ser Harwin Strong/ OC
Warnings: Swearing
1.02
“Vaella,” your father says, brightly noticing the necklace around your neck. “I haven’t seen you wear it in some time.”
Your fingers brush against the multiple gold charms hanging down your collarbone as you sit down beside your father as he works on his sculpture; you always admired how hard he worked on it.
“Yes, it’s quite beautiful,” Alicent smiles. “Has Rhaenyra got the same one? I do believe I’ve seen it before.”
“It was my mothers'.”
Alicent’s smile quickly fades into a look of regret. Whenever your mother's name was mentioned, she would become silent. You notice the sidelong look your father gives you, silently prompting you to change the subject. “Is Princess Helaena sleeping well through the night?”
Alicent nods then excuses herself, claiming she was going to check on Aegon. You doubted her story because, from what you’ve heard and seen, the queen didn’t spend long periods of time with her children, although you couldn’t blame her intently. You knew what it was like to be forced into a marriage, and deep down you knew you’d never be able to fully love any baby you had with him. Luckily, you hadn’t needed to deal with that dilemma yet; it seemed your husband was unable to conceive or the gods were cutting you some slack.
“A raven arrived for you this morning, from your uncle Daemon.”
He points to the unopened scroll on the table behind you; no doubt Otto brought it straight to him. You took it when you left; you didn’t want to open it in front of your father. Your close relationship with your uncle made him uncomfortable; he thought Daemon led you astray. You got so caught up in your thoughts of fighting beside your uncle that you hadn’t realized you never verbally replied.
“What troubles you, my child?” Your father asks without looking up from the small statue in his hand.
“Can’t I just spend time with you?”
He meets your eyes with an amused look on his face. “You can, but you usually get yourself into trouble on your way to me. So, what mischief have you been getting into since returning home? Lord Lyonel Strong tells me his son is quite taken with his role as your protector.”
You thought about lying, but your father knew you too well, and truthfully, you were too tired to think of a lie. “I had another dream last night.”
Your father's face falls. “Judging by your tone, it wasn’t a good one.”
“I saw a dragon breathing blue flames.”
“Impossible.”
Ever since your father was a child, he desperately wanted to be a dragon dreamer due to a prophecy he passed on to him that he then shared without you and Rhaenyra. When it became apparent at a young age that you were a dreamer, he became fascinated by what you saw in your visions—until it caused you to fly headfirst into battle.
You toy with your fingers and say, “Yet it’s what I saw. Brother against brother. Dragon against dragon.”
“Varos, sagon gīda. Ziry's daor iā threat naejot īlva,” you say, gently dabbing at the large wound above your dragon's wing.
Harwin watches in awe he had seen dragons from a safe distance many times but never had he been so close before. Even then it had been at a distance in the dragon pit, not out in the open up on the edge of a hill.
“Stop being silly!” you pout when Varos lets out a hissing noise. “I will put you into the dragon pit if you keep acting the fool.”
Ser Hawin chuckles behind you; he composes himself when you look back at him. “Forgive me, princess, I’ve just never heard anyone talk to a dragon like a human before.”
“We are extensions of each other. Besides, if he keeps fighting with wild dragons, he won’t be allowed back out until we leave.”
You had grown fond of Ser Harwin since he became your protector, but the man standing before you wasn’t the same one who had breakbones added to his name; he was kind and compassionate.
“I’ve heard many stories of the bond between dragons and their riders, princesses, although I don’t think any of them do it justice.”
You smile at his comment. With his helmet off, it was easier to read his facial expression, and you could see curiosity in his eyes as he said, “Give me your hand.”
“My hand?”
“Yes!” you beam at him. “But approach slowly; the last thing you want to do is startle Varos.”
“I imagine it would be the last thing I ever do, princess.”
Being called a princess usually went over your head because you were so used to it, but something about the way Ser Harwim said it made your heart speed up. You watched patiently as he nervously approached you. When he does, you place the back of his hand against yours and say, “I promise he won’t bite.”
He gives you a skeptical look.
You place his palm against Varos' scales, and his blue eyes practically sparkle with amazement as he gently strokes the beast. You step back, admiring the scene.
Ser Hawin turns to you and says, “Thank you.”
Your heart spikes. Panic sets in, and you grab Ser Harwin by the arm and pull him behind you the second you see Varos opening his jaws to let out a loud roar. “Shh, shh,” you coo. “It’s okay, ao sagon gha.”
Hearing footsteps you turn and see what had caused Varos such distress. You glare, “Thomas.”
“Vaella, my dear wife,” he says sarcastically, stopping a good distance away from you, too scared to approach with Varos’s head hanging over you. “I was disappointed that I didn’t see you when I arrived this morning.”
“Unfortunately, I had pressing matters to attend to.”
“Spending time with your beast.”
The thickness of the air seemed to thin as he took a step closer to you. One word. One word from you, and he would be gone. The word Dracarys is on the tip of your tongue, but you fight the urge to say it, knowing the consequences that would come along with it. “Is there something else?”
Thomas takes in Ser Harwin, who was twice his size, and extends his hand. “Thomas Lannister. You are?”
Ser Harwin shakes his hand out of politeness. You click your tongue and answer before he does. “This is Ser Harwin Breakbones, my sworn protector.”
Behind you, Ser Hawin does his best to stop himself from laughing at your use of his nickname. Your husband turns pale as his usual cockiness leaves his body. “Very well,” he clears his throat and talks in a lower voice. “We will continue the conversation we had before you left when it’s just the two of us.”
He quickly turns and leaves, and you clench your jaw and stare down at the ground, mentally cursing yourself for being so foolish. You’d left the scroll you had yet to read from your uncle in your bedchambers, “oh shit.”
Ser Harwin steps closer to you, the concern in his voice obvious. “Princess?”
“I need to get to my bedchamber immediately.”
Your teeth clicked together as you watched the scroll your uncle sent you burn in the small fireplace. This wasn’t good. You turn, looking up at Ser Harwin, who has raised his brows. He brought his hands together in front of him and said, “Wherever you’re thinking of going, princess, know that I will follow regardless of whether you want me to or not.”
His tone was playful enough, but he was being deadly serious. Growing up, you had managed to sneak past many knights without ever being caught, but it wasn’t possible with Ser Harwin; he was an observant man and had a way of knowing what you were planning on doing next.
“I need to leave for Dragonstone tonight... without anyone knowing.”
“How do you plan on doing that?”
His question surprises you; you expected him to tell you it was a bad idea. “I know a way to get to Varos from my chambers without being seen. I’ll go during the hour of the owl. It’s just a matter of keeping my husband out of the way, which could be difficult since his bedroom is next door.”
“I’m afraid I can’t let you do that, princess.”
You frown. “I’m not a prisoner and can leave whenever I see fit.”
He takes a step closer to you. “But yet you are sneaking out?”
You hold his stare, not knowing how to reply. Targaryen princess or not, you’d never truly be free. You spent your younger years chasing excitement and hiding it from your father and his knights, and now as a married woman, you still do the same thing.
Harwin’s gaze softens slightly. “I cannot do my duty as a knight and your protector if I let you go.”
“Well then, I guess you’ll need to accompany me to Dragonstone on dragon back.”
Varos, sagon gīda. Ziry's daor iā threat naejot īlva - Varos, be calm - He's not a threat to us.
It’s okay, ao sagon ȳgha - it’s okay, you’re safe.

The raven and the vampire
Ch6
A jasper x oc story that is a marvel and twilight crossover.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everything was set. All of Bella's family had been convinced to go elsewhere. While she lied about staying with Alice and I for a girls weekend. I in turn lied to Jasper that my “aunt and uncle” and I were meeting up in New York with my father, mother and siblings since I hadn’t seen them in forever. The guilt of what I'm about to do eats away inside me. The plan had been made by Bella, Edward and jacob. Bella would be carried up the mountain by jacob to disguise her scent while alice rue and Rosalie spread her scent around the woods to attract the newborn army to the preordained field for the battle. Jacob and another wolf would protect Bella while the others all fought the army. In fact I was leaving now for the imaginary airport I was going to. Jasper bella and the others seeing me and my family off. Jasper has barely left my side sense he came to get me this morning for breakfast. The others just smile solemnly at me, more focused about what is to come.
“Jasper please, please be safe. “
“I will darling, I promise you, I will always come back to you”.
He leans down connecting our foreheads as he breathes me in. The words that I'm staying to help are on the tip of my tongue but after speaking with grandmother frigga about how fickle the future can be I keep them clamped down in hopes to not change the fates.
“Jasper, I want you to hear me when I say this. Everything is going to be fine. And anything that happens now is meant to I just pray that at the end of it we all come out unscathed.”
He looks at me puzzled but accepts my words with a nod. I hear Luke say it's time to go, and turn my head briefly but Jasper's cold hand on my cheek turns me back. He looks through me with his topaz eyes and gently brings me to him for a kiss. His lips are so soft on mine. As I take him in his strong grip on my waist and tender touch on my check. All I can do is pray to all the gods above that after tomorrow he still kisses me this way, or at all.
I pulled away tears burning behind my eyes, his thumb gently wiping them as he ushered me to the car.
“I love you elara.” He says in a gently soft voice for my ears only.
“I love you to jasper. I love you so much. Please please be safe. All of you be safe,” I shout out to the others behind him. I enter the car behind Mila as Lucas goes to drive off to our imaginary destination.
“All will be well my princess, they will understand in time.” Mila tries to reassure me
“From your lips to Odin's ears”
A ways away from the cullens estate I finally step out of the car.
“Are you sure about this my lady?”
“Yes Lucas, I want to make sure that anyone amongst the new borns knows there’s another way, i have to see if I can stop some unnecessary bloodshed.”
I send out my power a purple butterfly leaving my palm and darting up into the sky to find victoria and deliver my message to her.
Tumblr media
Victorias pov
“Riley, is everyone ready?”
“Yes Victoria, they are all ready to attack.”
“Good we need to start a move on if we are to make it there on time.”
Victoria is ready to finish out her revenge. Already smiling at the thought of Edward's troubled face as she kills Bella in front of him when a purple butterfly flies into the camp. Its glowing attracts everyone as they all clamor for it. It lands on one of the metal canister scattered around the dump their using for hiding
“Victoria what the hell is that”
“I don't know”. She walks towards it slowly, just as she gets in range to grab it it explodes leaving a piece of paper in its wake.
“Riley grab it, tell me what it says” The young male walks up quickly slipping the paper away,
“It says if any of you value your life then turn back now and forget about this battle. Wait could this be from the Cullens, How?”
“I don't know but it doesn’t matter even if they added a new member to their stupid family we'll kill them all just the same.” Victoria screeches, grabbing the note and ripping it to shreds.
Jaspers pov
Sending off my mate killed me but her getting hurt would completely destroy me. Edward at least was able to watch over his mate himself but i had t trust that the newborns wouldn’t find her. Alice consoles me as we all decided to go hunting wanting to be in peak conditon before the battle now all I can do is wait. The sun slowly starts to appear over the horizon as the newborns and Victoria finally arrive.
Mid morning, a quick chat with Edward lets us know that even though the night was long everything and everyone is in place. We march along the trees to the destined location however arriving at the destination a disntinct purple gleam is seen on the horizon, we approach the shield slowly the purple magic shimmering in front of us.
“What is going on? What is this?” Rue asks
“Could this be a power one of the newborns possesses or something. Emmet chimes in.
“I don't know EM but if it is this will change everything. we need to regroup with the wolves and try something else,” carlisle always the leader he is states
“Then let’s get back to edward and bella and see what we can do and do it quickly.” Im about to turn when elaras voice comes from behind me
“It’s alright everyone”
All Heads turn to see elara standing there behind them
“elara how the hell,what are you doing here? Come on, I have to get you somewhere safe.” Right as I go to embrace my mate and hopefully whisk her away my hand goes right through her.
“What the hell.”
The illusion sadly smiles. “It’s ok Jasper, everything is going to work out. The barrier you're seeing is of my own creation. I wanted to make sure you all were in the correct area before I brought you any closer.”
The copy vanishes as the magical barrier slowly withdraws further from the woods. The cullens and the pack slowly being brought into the clearing foretold for the battle to come. A figure of a lone girl sits in the middle of the clearing a silver dog sitting next to her.
I rushes the Barrier to then be bounced off like a rubber band, quickly recovering, “elara elara,!” I yell fists banging on the barrier
“It’s ok jasper im right here”
Again we all spin around as the illusion of elara appears once more
“What is happening, how are you doing this?”
“Jasper, I'm so sorry. There’s so much I need to tell you, to tell all of you but after seeing that possible future that Alice saw I could no longer sit back. Even with the packs help none of you deserve to have this happen, Not when I can end this here and now.”
“elara what are you talking about.”
“Jasper, my love, my stars…….I'm not human, I never have been. I'm something else entirely……. To put simply, I come from a very powerful family and I have more experience in battle then I probably need and I was raised to protect the people I love and that is exactly what I'm doing.”
An orange spark is seen from the left and a very confused Edward, Jacob, Seth and Bella appearing seemingly out of thin air.
“What the hell.” Edward asks confusingly.
“Sorry I didn’t want to leave all of you up there in the cold. Victoria and her army will be here soon.”
“elara I don't know what’s going on dear but please let us help.” Esme chimes from beside her husband. All the current party now staring at the illusion.
“I'm sorry esme, I can’t do that right now.“
“Elara!”
With a sad smile i watch as the double disappears into purple shimmers, The sound of footsteps replacing it as Luke and Mila step out of the woods wearing armor of some kind
“Lucas?”
“Hello Carlisle, hello everyone.”
“What’s going on? What is elara doing? You have to help me get to her.” I plead desperately.
“I'm sorry but I am not the one to explain, that is something milady must do. For now I must do my duty and protect her highness. Please excuse me. Luke bows and steps through the barrier, Mila just smiling next to him Just as the others and I are about to run after them we hear the sound of many footsteps now approaching the other side of the clearing.
Elaras pov
Aurelius' head sits in my lap still in his husky form, his fur soothing as I hear the new vampires march into the clearing, the bright red hair sticking out at the front of the group. A low growl sounds from my lap Aurelius sensing the evil coming on the air. I can still sense everyone at the barrier. I know I should let them in but I can’t shake that horrible sight of Jasper getting hurt from my mind. I have to try my way first before anything happens to him. Standing Aurelius takes guard next to me,
“Glad to see you all could make it.”
“Who the hell are you” the sound spews from victoria's mouth
“My name is elara”
“She’s the one that has been around Bella lately, I've also seen her with the blonde Cullen.” Riley states from next to victoria
“Ahhh a new Cullen pet, i must say im impressed especially at whatever this is around us. But this has nothing to do with you.”
“I'm afraid it does, you’ve become a threat to people I love. So I will give you a chance. You and anyone in your group hear me now. There are other options. You don't need to be like her, there is a better way of life for you.”
“Ok stop.! Victoria all but yells. “What makes you think you can come in here and change anything? All I see is one tiny human. And over 35 of us. What will you do?”
“Human? When did I say I was human.”
For the first time in front of everyone I let the midgardian glamor fade. My true self being revealed in my armor, the light reflecting off the gold accents as my jacket flows in the light wind,ready to leave these cretins in the dust.
The breeze howls through the trees and I can tell the simple show of magic has confused everyone around.
“What’s wrong Victoria, did that simple display shock you? Wait for this one.” I turn to Aurelius and pet him and with a flip of my wrist I break the magic on Aurelius, Gone is the small husky and in his place stands the 10 ft tall wolf. Growling in agitation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“This is my last warning to all of you. None of you need to fight this battle, it was not your choice to become hat she has made you, but it is your choice how you choose to go about your new existents”
I see many of the new vampires stare and turn to each other Victoria and Riley telling them to shut up and stay silent. They all seem to comply except for a young girl in the back. Her long brown hair flows in the breeze as er big red doe eyes fill with terror. I can tell she’s different than the others as she quickly runs over to me before either Riley or Victoria can catch her.
“Please please dont hurt me i didnt do anything”
“Hush now im not going to hurt you. I can tell your different from them, do you want a different path” I ask the trimblin girl she simply nods. Putting my hand on her shoulder i turn her towards esme instructing Aurelius to look after her and make sure she mad it to the Cullen matriarch’s side.
“Aurelius here will protect you, I promise once this is all over you’ll be well taken care of.” The young girl turns back frightened to look at Victoria one last time
“She can’t do anything to you anymore. I swear on my name if you choose the Cullens you will have a good life.”
“I, I, want to b happy”
“Good” i push her towards Aurelius the beast quickly crouching down as i urge her onto his back, before they take off back towards the Cullens home.
TRAITOR!!!!! Riley yells after her
“Now tell me, how is that young girl a traitor when she has done nothing other than being one of your many victims” Murmers go through their numbers
“Whether she stays with us or you it doesn’t matter all of you will be dead by the end of the day especially you.” I simply smile at her shaking my head at her poor attempts of self control, summoning my golde staff i draw Aline in the dirt infront of me.
“If. You choose not to take my offer as the girl has I will cut you down were you stand a burn the pieces.’ Adding to my threat i materialize and wooden pier quickly setting it on fire.”
“You’re going to cut us. Into pieces with what the stick in your hand. Please all of these little illusions of yours are impressive I’ll give you that but you wont stop us. You two kill her.” Victoria shouts ordering two newborns that were at the front of the group forward.” They were both tall burly males slightly bigger than Emmet. I guess she thought to intimidate me,which is laughable.The two advance quickly, i hear yelling off to my side where jasper is banging on the barrier. Fear evident in his eyes. I just smile at him as the new borns finally come not range. With a quick turn of my hand the blade of my scythe comes into existents. My blade comes up to bock their punches the strength sending me back slightly, but i recover quickly.
Spinning the staff around to bring it across the one on my left torso i go to lock another punch from the other before bring my scythe across his neck. The air is still as the two newborns fall to pieces, their bodies slumping hardly to the ground before I throw the pieces. Into the raging fire.
Tumblr media
I see victoria is shaken as many of the others are but she refuses to back down. I see her whisper to Riley as a look of determination comes across his face the battle call of kill her being yelled out.
I take out a few at a time dodging and weaving through the bodies, i know im out numbered and that i should drop the field but I can’t.
“Princess drop the field, you may be strong but it is only right to let the others join you in this battle.” Lucas states over our telepathic link
“I can’t yet i need t thin them out a little more.
“Elara let me in.” I hear jasper pounding away on the barrier
My distraction costs me as on of the newborns lands a hit to my side winding me, crashing sideways into the dirt
“PRINCESS! Lucas yells once more
“Fine” I jump out of the pack quickly. Advancing on me to the the other side of the field and withdraw my magic.i watch then as the cullens and the pac rush in to the fray. Taking down newborns as they went. I see emmetswinging bodies around, Paul and him working together to dispatch bodies as quickly as possible, Alice and ruework in tandem as where rose and esme each taking on a hand full of newborns. I try to quickly set all the bodies ablaze as they go.
As the newborn army puts up a fight I see Riley and victoria running around not really helping their army simply trying to find openings to do damage to the cullens or the pack.
“VICTORIA”
Her head whips towards me a snarl filling her face and she rushes towards me.
“YOU. You ruined EVERYTHING.”
“You did this to yourself Victoria,”
“I will get my revenge even if it’s not today i swear to you the cullens will get whats coming to them.”
All i see is her red hair filling me vision as the thoughts of how she could have cost me everyone I had come to love, and the want to simply cut her down and be done with this mess is not enough anymore. Dropping my scythe i reach for my powers the purple glow of the enveloping my hands and rushing towards victorias form like a bolt of lightning. The had sharp edges of ice leaving a path in their wake before crashing into her freezing her in her stride
Tumblr media
The chaos around me is now silent, the battle finally ending. I look up and everyone is staring at me, different looks and emotions crossing each of their faces. But all i feel is indifference enveloping me. Piking up my scythe i slowly stride towards Victoria’s frozen form. Raising my arms and with one final swing i shatter Victoria into a million pieces .
“Elara?” i her jasper gently callout as im about to walk towards him till i hear Alice gasp out. All heads turning towards her
The volutori is all she says. All the Cullens immediately stiffening back up
Who?”
Theres no time carlisle explains “we need to get this fixed quickly Sam the pack needs to go now the volturi will not respect our treaty. Elara i dont know if you can but can you make the are look as though we where the. Only ones fighting, the volturi dont need to know about the pack or you.”
Everyone stares at me waiting for my answer, i simply look at Carlisle wanting to know what has him so frazzled. But all i see in his eyes is darkness and death, so i simply nod summoning my aesre it sweeps over the scene cleaning up the mess or the battle.
“Elara?” esme ask her face motherly as everything that needs to be said sits silently in the air.
I simply nod and set to work erasing all signs of me and Aurelius. The former coming up to me shrinking back into his husky form.
“I agree but not without her” i point over to the newborn girl from earlier
“If these people are as dangerous as you say i doubt they’d spare anyone they do not currently recognize”
“You would be correct” carlisle states next to his wife
“Come.” I stick my hand out for the young one. She timidly takes it
“I will take her back to your home and make sure she’s ok.”
“Rue go with her just in case you’ll be able to look after the girl well” esme adds quickly
“Ok” rue runs over and just kinda stands next to me intimidation rolling off her in waves. I put my hand on each off their shoulders preparing to teleport.
elara wait is all jasper can get out before i strike him with my stare. And vanish.

Injury || Sammy Lawrence x OC (Joey Drew’s daughter)
Word count: 1744 words
Tumblr media
|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|
Amandine Drew sat in the front seat of her father's car. They were driving to the animation studio on the other side of town.
"So, tell me again why we are doing this?" Amandine asked.
"Because it'll be nice for you to see your old man in action." Joey Drew ran a hand through his blonde hair.
"I've been there before though."
"Yes, when you were younger, a child." Joey glared at Amandine through the corner of his eye. "Everyone wants to see how well you've grown, especially Sam."
Amandine scoffed. "Sammy Lawrence?"
"Yes, him." Joey pulled the car into the underground parking garage. "Well, we're here." Amandine opens her car door and starts to walk away.
As she sees the entrance to the studio, memories flood her mind. The last time she accompanied Joey to work was when she was five years old. But now, she was twenty one, sixteen years had passed.
"It looks the same." She commented before Joey opened the studio door leading her in. Her eye drifted everywhere, the Bendy cutouts, the projector in the main room and employees sitting at their desks in their offices.
Joey placed his hand on Amandine's back leading her to a small office to the left. A brunette man was sitting straight while sketching a crooked smile. Joey tapped the man's shoulder snapping him out of his work-induced trance. "Henry, you remember my daughter Amandine right?"
Henry Stein looked up from his work and turned his chair around. His brown eyes looked into Amandine's blue ones. "Yes, of course, hello again Amandine. Wow, have you grown."
"It's only been sixteen years since I was last here."
"Sixteen? Holy hell, you're quite the woman now, I see."
"Twenty one and thriving."
"Excellent."
Joey turned to Amandine and opened his mouth. "Amandine, why don't you look around the studio while Henry and I talk business, okay?"
"Okay." Amandine said before walking away.
~~~
As Amandine explored, she saw a black haired woman writing something at her desk. She rose her fist to the door and knocked. Through the window, she noticed an Alice Angel cutout leaning against the wall. She was the voice actress for Alice.
"Come in." The woman's voice was soft but seductive.
"Susie?" Amandine asked.
Susie Campbell turned around. "Oh my days! Amandine Drew?" She stood up, walked over to her and held the Drew woman close. "How are you? How long has it been?"
"Sixteen years."
Susie let out a soft gasp. "Sixteen years? You were five, so that means, you're..."
"I'm twenty one, twenty one and thriving." Amandine smiled brightly.
"Oh shush, I feels so old." Susie ran a hand through her dark curls. "Look at you, you're so beautiful, clearly you're Joey's daughter."
"And you're still Alice I see?" Amandine leaned against the wall observing the Alice Angel cutout.
"Oh yes, I actually had a wonderful lunch with your dad the other day, he has high hopes for me."
"I hope Alice is as popular as Bendy someday." Amandine commented.
"Funny how Sammy Lawrence said the same thing."
"Never doubt Sammy." Amandine squeezed Susie's hands. "He's usually never wrong."
She looked around Susie's office. Her fingers ran along the wood on the walls occasionally tapping her fingertips to various songs.
"So, is Sammy here?"
"Yep. Everyone is." Susie twirled her finger through a curl. "There's a new episode we're working on, nearly finished."
"Ooh, tell me." Amandine sat down on another chair beside Susie's desk.
"Well, Alice befriends Boris the Wolf, however...there's an Evil Alice."
"Twisted Alice." Amandine uttered.
"Yes. How did you know that?"
"I saw drafts on my dad's desk at home." Amandine cleared her throat. "She looked terrifying."
"Not to question your father, but does he really think adding evil characters will be best?"
"I question him all the time. And plus, kids love the happier side of Bendy and his friends."
"The happier side of Bendy sells more tickets, I agree." Susie picked up a sheet of paper. On it was a sketch of Alice wearing a black dress, and her black hair curled down to past her chest.
"You're still voicing Alice right?"
"Of course!"
"I'm going to head downstairs, see you Susie!"
"Bye, Amandine!" They hugged tightly before Amandine left the office.
"Nice lady."
~~~
Amandine continued walking through the halls before finding a room with a metal machine. Curiously, she approached it. The sign above it read: INK MACHINE
As she approached the break room next door, she noticed six pedestals, six objects on them: A music disc, a bottle of ink, Joey Drew's original memoir The Illusion of Living, a gear, a wrench and a squeaky Bendy doll.
She picked up the Bendy doll and squeezed it. The doll squeaked and a smile lifted on her lips.
As she put the doll back down, a man walked in.
"Amandine Drew? Is it really you?"
She turned around and saw Jack Fain, the lyricist standing in front of her.
"Jack Fain? The lyricist? Is that really you?" She asked in the same tone as Jack.
Jack Fain was a tall man who wore grey trousers with red suspenders, a white button up shirt, orange vest, brown bow tie and bowler hat.
"It's been so long since Joey brought you here." Jack hugged Amandine lightly.
"What is all of this?" Amandine gestured around the room.
"Curtesy of your father. He's lost his mind." Jack explained as he looked at the ink machine and the pedestals. Candles covered the room.
"T-this wasn't here last time."
"A lot has changed in sixteen years, Amandine." Jack paced around the room.
"What about...everyone else?" Amandine picked up the doll.
"Sammy Lawrence is...devoted to...Bendy."
"Bendy? What do you mean?"
"He prays to him, sends offerings, draws pentagrams everywhere."
"Offerings? Like what?"
"Bacon soup cans."
"I need to see this for myself." Amandine walks out of the break room and opens a door which leads to a staircase.
~~~
As she walks down it, bits of ink pour from the ceiling.
"Aah!" Amandine screamed as she tripped down the stairs. She landed at the bottom with the sound of a bone breaking echoing through the staircase. "Damn it! Son of a bitch!"
She looks up and sees a sign that says MUSIC DEPARTMENT. Also known as Sammy Lawrence's department.
As she slumped on the floor, her eyes started to close. Through her blurred vision, she saw a brunette man wearing yellow suspenders approach her.
Sammy Lawrence.
"Amandine Drew, so the rumours are true." He crouched down and saw Amandine's rapidly swollen and broken ankle. "God, what happened here?" His eyes then look at the slightly flooded stairwell. "Oh, that's why."
Amandine let out a quiet whimper and cry. Her eyes looked up at Sammy.
"S-Sammy?"
Sammy crouched down and picked her up. His hands were soft and held onto her tightly.
"Let me help you with that ankle of yours. It needs medical attention."
Amandine's eyes kept fluttering closed. Her hand rose to her pounding head.
"My head." She groaned. "Everything hurts."
"Easy there." Sammy leads her down to the studio's infirmary underneath the music department. "You're dizzy from the adrenaline, just lay back and keep still."
Sammy's soothing voice causes Amandine's panic to rise. Her eyes glared down at her ankle which was swollen and broken. A scream exited her lips.
"Shh, shh." A finger rose to Sammy's lips as he leaned down towards Amandine's face. "Quiet, it's okay. I'm here to take care of you."
"I thought you only worked on music."
"Well, I've taken up medical care as well."
Amandine swallowed nervously. Her fingers dwindled rapidly.
"S-so, Sammy, is it true...about Bendy?"
Sammy's face froze.
"What about Bendy?"
"That you pray to him? Worship him?"
"Who told you that?"
"Jack Fain, the lyricist."
"Well...he's not wrong." Sammy picked up gauze and a cast. "Bendy is my saviour."
Amandine swallowed nervously. As she opened her mouth, the only words she could muster were stutters.
"H-how did t-that come to be?"
"Well, when you create something, you believe in it. It can become real you know." Sammy started working on Amandine's ankle. "It could possibly start to claim you, possess you, take over."
"The soup cans?"
"I steal them from the back. Besides, not everyone is fond of bacon soup."
~~~
Amandine laid in the bed resting her ankle. Sammy wrapped it up and applied lots of heat and ice. As she looked around the infirmary, she noticed music playing.
Her hands reached for a pair of crutches beside the bed. She grabbed it and started limping towards the source of the music.
Her eyes glanced upon the sign on the wall that said RECORDING, and walked upstairs. The sign on the door said PROJECTIONIST BOOTH, OFFICE OF NORMAN POLK.
Amandine knocked on the door.
"Norman?" The crutches clicked against the wooden floor as Amandine leaned against them. The door opened a few minutes later showing a man wearing dark clothes.
His hair was matted to his head, glistened with water.
"Well, well, Amandine Drew. I thought I recognized you." Norman held his hand out for Amandine to take. "Come in, come in."
Amandine limped into the projectionist booth. Norman notices her injury.
"My, what happened to your ankle?"
"Stupid ink flooded the stairwell."
"Stupid ink machine." Norman muttered. "Always causing injuries and misfortunes."
"Does this ink machine...have to do with my father?"
"Yes, Joey installed it without any of us noticing." Norman explained as the projector started rolling. "After all, who needs that much ink anyway?"
"And the pedestals in the break room?"
"You saw those?"
Amandine nodded answering Norman's question.
"Well, Joey, has changed. He's gotten more...cautious about his leadership abilities. People have started to doubt him, I even heard someone might be getting fired."
"Fired? Why? Who?" Amandine's eyes widened in shock at Norman's statement.
"I wish I knew." Norman sighed before pulling out a chair for Amandine. "Anyway, sit, sit. That ankle must be killing you."
Amandine sat down and overlooked the balcony where the band sat on bunches of chairs playing instruments. In the recording booths, Amandine spotted Susie speaking into an overhead microphone.
As Amandine looked closer, she spotted wetness in the corner of Susie's eyes. Almost as if she was about to cry. A ticking went off in Amandine's head. Her eyes widened again.
"Oh no. I know who's getting fired."
