Song Inspo:
A/n: I loooove this song and I think it fits perfectly for Stan 🤭
Getting out of New Jersey...out of this dump town, far away was the first thing on his mind though of course that plan soon went out the window the moment you told him you were pregnant.
All he could think about was I'm too young for this.
Got my whole life ahead.Hell I'm just a kid myself.
How'm I gonna raise one.
Pressing his back against the locker he didn't even know how to tell his father. Running his hand down his face. Everything in his bones was telling him to go after you but he just felt numb, he could almost hear his father's voice yelling at him for being so careless.
All he could see were his dreams goin' up in smoke.
So much for ditchin' this town and hangin' out on the coast.
Oh well, those plans are long gone.
And he said
"There goes my life. There goes my future, my everything.Might as well kiss it all good-bye."Stan muttered hitting his head against the locker.
"There goes my life."
Taking a deep breath, he stood up then shook his head, he had to deal with this. He was going to be a father....with you with the woman he loved.
Smiling to himself, he rushed off to find you. He had to let you know he will always be with you.
Stan owed a lot to your parents for not kicking you out like his father did, for taking him in. Pressing his face to your belly a sigh escaped his lips as he glanced up at you with a nervous smile.
"You think I'll be a good dad?"
"Stan....you'll be a wonderful father...someone who is as sweet and loyal as their father."
Heat rose to Stan's cheeks, a mix of embarrassment and bashfulness.
"Oh stop it...don't start this now. You're gonna turn me all soft 'n sappy..." he muttered, looking up at you he let out a huff, his expression softening even more.
"I'm just...I'm blown away, princess. I never thought I'd ever get to do the whole family thing...let alone with a beautiful woman like you."
"Well let's just say we're both lucky Stan."
A couple years of up all night and a few thousand diapers later.
That mistake he thought he made covers up the refrigerator.
Oh yeah..........he loves that little girl.
Chasing after his little girl, Stan grasped her, lifting her in his arms. "Gotcha! It's bed time squirt! You can cause trouble at Uncle Ford's tomorrow."
Holding her tight, he did his best to not trip over her toy's that littered the ground. Glancing at the fridge his gaze softened seeing a her little drawings, a smile forming on his lips as he placed her down. His daughter eagerly crawling up the stairs to where you were waiting.
Momma's waiting to tuck her in,As she fumbles up those stairs.
She smiles back at him dragging that teddy bear.
Glancing back, the little girl gave her father a bright smile as she finally made it to your arms. Nuzzling into your chest, you gave Stan a smile of your own as you carried her off to her bedroom.
"Sleep tight, pretty eyes and bouncin' curls." He whispered brushing away a few tears.
He finally found his happiness, he finally felt whole thanks to you and his little girl.
He smiles.....
There goes my life.
There goes my future, my everything.
I love you, daddy good-night.There goes my life.
Packing the rest of her things in the car, she tucked a strand of her hair behind ear as she then watched her father to look the car over.
She had that Honda loaded down.
With Abercrombie clothes and 15 pairs of shoes and his American Express.
Rubbing the back of his neck, Stan cleared out his throat as he checked over the car one last time. His little girl wasn't so little anymore. She looked so much like you he wasn't so sure that he wanted to send her off on her own.
He then checked the oil and slammed the hood
"you're good to go princess"
Blinking back her tears, she rushed towards you and Stan, hugging you both goodbye. "I'll see you both in a few months." Stepping back she smiled then slipped into the car as she drove away.
Feeling tears prick his eyes, Stan let his arms wrap around your waist as he held you close
And he cried
"There goes my life. There goes my future, my everything.I love you.Baby good-bye."
There goes my life.
There goes my life.
Baby good-bye.

♪ Met you at a night out in Boston. Put your hand on my thigh in the Commons. Been drinking something blue, turn my phone off, 'cause if it's not you, I don't wanna talk. Live now, think later, I do it so well ♪
You had flown into Boston earlier that day to visit your sister, Maya, who is a student at Boston University. A sister weekend was what you both desperately needed after a long few months of school, drama, and being a part. It was Friday night as you both walked through the commons to get to the bar. You were accompanied by her roommate and some other friends you hadn't met before tonight. The smell of alcohol and sweat slapped you in the face as you all walked in the doors of the bar. Leaning against a wall, you pulled some cash out of your purse and handed it to Maya. "Wait here, I'll grab you a drink," Maya said as she took the money and walked with her friends towards the bar. You surveyed your surroundings; colorful lights, loud music, girls grinding on guys on the dance floor. Maya returned a few minutes later with a neon blue drink and handed it to you.
"What is this?" you asked. Anything that brightly colored couldn't be good for you.
She shrugged, "Not sure, I just told him to surprise me," she said taking a sip of her own blue drink. "Come on, let's go dance!" Maya exclaimed grabbing your hand and leading you to the dance floor. You turned to make sure your friends were following you. As you turned back forward, you crashed into someone and your drink flew out of your hand.
"My bad, kid, you alright?" a male voice said to you. You looked up at the gorgeous man in front of you.
"Holy shit. I- I'm sorry," you mumbled out. Maya laughing at how flustered you were.
"Can I buy you another drink?" he asked. You nodded as your eyes locked with his piercing blue ones.
"Uh, yea that would be great. You should know, though, I'm only twenty..." You said, feeling your face heat up. He let out a chuckle.
"Come on, ma, you think anyone in here has a real ID?" he smirked, gesturing to the crowd of people around you. He wasn't wrong, you were in a college town after all.
The man, who you learned was named Chris, had gotten you a new drink and you both were sat at a high top table. His hand sat on your thigh as he leaned close to hear you over the loud music. "So, you go to school here?" you questioned, taking a sip of your drink.
He nodded, "Yea, I'm a sophomore. We're out tonight for one of my frat buddy's 21st. What about you?"
"I'm just in town visiting my older sister. I go to school in Philly," you explained. A couple of Chris' frat buddies approached the table. Your phone buzzed in your pocket. It was probably Maya checking in on how things were going. Without looking, you turned your phone off.
♪ Don't know if it's been a minute or an hour. Kinda cute when you're bribing the bouncer. Gotta make a quick stop at the ATM I know you won't make me pay, but I'll just pretend. Dance with your hand in my back pocket. Just give me your beating heart, I'll stop it, boy. Don't lie, I know you want it, yeah. Live now, think later, I do it so well. ♪
"We're headed next door, ya comin'?" One of them asked Chris. He turned to you with a raised eyebrow. Was this a good idea? Live for the now. You nodded, happy that Chris took your opinion into consideration. He grabbed your hand and you both followed the group of guys outside and to the bar next door. There was a small line to get in but it moved decently fast. As you got closer to the door, your breath hitched in your throat seeing a sign that read 21+.
"Chris, I'm not gonna be able to get in," you whispered to him. A bit of disappointment in your voice as you feared this is where you and Chris would split ways for the night.
"Relax, ma, I got it," he assured as you reached the bouncer. Chris flashed him his fake ID and the bouncer gave him a nod.
"What about you?" the tall man asked looking down at you. Chris pulled out a $20 bill and handed it to the bouncer.
"This is for her, boss," Chris said quietly. The bouncer took it and nodded at you both. Chris led you inside and brought you to the dance floor. His hand went to the back pocket of your jeans and he spun you towards him. (for those who need a visual) He held you close as you swayed your hips to the music. The two of you danced for a bit as the DJ played a nice set. He leaned down and whispered in your ear, "You're going to be the death of me. Let's get out of here yea?" You smirked looking up at him.
"Your place? I don't think my sister would be too pleased if I brought you back to her place," You said, laughing softly.
He shook his head, "I've got a better idea than bringing you back to some shitty frat house." He nodded towards the door and you followed him out. As you waited outside for the Uber, you got $20 from the ATM. Chris watched you and laughed, "That better not be to pay me back, kid. I don't want your money." You smiled and tucked the money into your purse as the Uber pulled up.
♪ Laughing in the backseat of the black car. It's not a good night if you don't take it too far. My friends got scared, and they called the cops, but I'm just at the Ritz with the door locked. Live now, think later, I do it so well. ♪
Chris' hand found home around your waist as you sat in the back of the Uber, sharing kisses and drunken giggles. A bit later, you felt the car stop and Chris helped you out. You stood in front of the Ritz-Carlton. "Chris, oh my god! Are you nuts?" you laughed, turning to face him.
"Don't worry, ma, I got connections," he smirked leading you inside. It wasn't long before you were pinned up against the door in your hotel room. Chris placed kisses along your jaw line. A soft moan left your lips as you tilted your head to give him more access. His hand grabbed your chin as he stared into your eyes.
"Be careful, Christopher, or I may start to think you have a crush on me," you teased. A low laugh escaped him as he slipped his hands under your thighs. You wrapped your legs around his waist and he brought you over to the bed. He threw you against the mattress and a gasp escaped you.
Chris leaned down, close to your face, "I'd definitely say I've got a crush." You pulled his face to yours and kissed him passionately. Your tongues fought for dominance. A few minutes later, both of your clothes were tangled in a pile on the floor. Chris' was leaving a trail of sloppy kisses down your body. He started at your neck. Then, made sure to give your tits special attention. His hand on one as his tongue twirled around on the other. You were breathless at this point.
"Chris," you whined, "do something." He laughed softly against your skin as his mouth traveled down your stomach to your hip. You bucked your hips involuntarily, desperate for some sort of touch.
"So wet for me already," he teased as a finger slid up your folds. A shiver flew down your spine. Chris' placed a flat tongue against your clit and you groaned, closing your legs around his head. "Ah ah easy there," he mumbled against your core. One arm placed across your hips and thighs to hold your legs open as his tongue worked mercilessly where you needed him most. Not long later, he slipped a finger into your entrance and curled it, hitting your sweet spot.
"Fuck- Chris! I'm gonna cum," you moaned out, throwing your head back. Suddenly, the sensations stopped and you whined.
"Patience, baby girl," he smirked, licking his finger clean. He got up and pulled a condom from his wallet. He rolled it on with ease and walked back over to you. "As much as I love lookin' at your pretty face, roll over," he demanded. He flipped you over by your hips and you yelped. Chris pushed the upper part of your body down and held your wrists together behind you. He gripped your thighs and pulled your waist to his. He used his free hand to come up and leave a sharp sting on your ass. He smirked and pushed into you without warning. You both moaned loudly as he pumped into you at a steady pace. "Goddamn, ma, takin' me so well, huh?" he groaned, watching where your bodies connected. A string of moans and curse words filled the air. "You gonna cum with me, pretty girl?" he asked. You nodded vigorously, unable to get words out as you came undone all over his cock. He followed right behind you as he moaned your name. Music to your ears.
After getting cleaned up, you lay in bed next to him. It had finally dawned on you that you turned your phone off hours ago and never turned it back on. The bright screen lit up your face as dozens of missed calls and texts came through. Most of them were from Maya and your friends, but there were a few that stood out to you, Mom meaning Maya had called your parents. Eh, I’ll think about it later. You sat your phone back down on the bedside table and curled into Chris’ chest, falling asleep quickly.

New Recruit
Natasha Romanoff x Gender Neutral Reader
Summary: You're a new recruit to the avengers
Warnings: None
REQUESTS ARE OPEN, I need inspo
P.S the request wasn't wonky, and I did kwum 😁
---------
Nick Fury's commanding presence filled the room as he addressed the assembled Avengers.
"Avengers, gather around. We have a new member joining us today," he announced, his gaze sweeping across the team. "They come highly recommended, and I believe their unique abilities will be a valuable asset to our cause."
The Avengers exchanged curious glances as Fury motioned for you to step forward.
"Allow me to introduce our newest recruit," Fury continued, gesturing towards you. "They're a bit of a wildcard, but I have a feeling they'll fit right in."
You stepped forward, greeted by a mix of intrigued expressions and welcoming smiles from the team.
"Hey there, everyone," you greeted with a casual nod, a hint of amusement in your voice. "Hope I'm not crashing the party too hard."
Thor's booming voice echoed through the room as he greeted you with genuine enthusiasm. "Greetings, friend! What manner of skills do you possess?"
You grinned at his warmth, feeling an immediate sense of camaraderie. "Just a little something to bring some heat to the proceedings. You'll see soon enough."
Steve Rogers, the epitome of old-fashioned charm, stepped forward with a warm smile. "I'm Steve Rogers, but you can call me Cap. Welcome to the team."
You shook his hand firmly, returning his smile. "Nice to meet you, Cap. I'm Y/n . Ready to lend a hand wherever I can."
Bruce Banner observed you with a curious expression. "Welcome aboard. Do you have any specific skills or expertise?"
You shrugged, a playful glint in your eye. "I've been known to light up the room when needed. But I'll let my actions speak for themselves."
Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, chimed in with a smirk. "Well, whoever you are, you've got quite the sense of humor. I like it."
You chuckled, feeling a sense of camaraderie already. "Thanks, Clint. Figured I'd try to keep things interesting."
As introductions continued, Wanda Maximoff offered you a friendly smile. "I'm Wanda Maximoff. It's nice to meet you, Y/n."
"Likewise, Wanda," you replied warmly. "Looking forward to getting to know everyone."
Natasha Romanoff observed you with a keen eye, her expression unreadable. When Fury finished speaking, she stepped forward with a smirk.
"Welcome to the team," Natasha said smoothly. "I'm Natasha Romanoff. Let's see what you're made of."
You met her gaze, feeling a sense of respect for the legendary Black Widow. "Thanks, Natasha. I'm ready to prove myself."
With introductions complete, the Avengers turned their attention back to Fury, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them. And as you settled into your new role among Earth's mightiest heroes, you couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement for the adventures that lay ahead.
----
As the flames flickered and danced, casting shadows against the trees surrounding Tony's cabin, the Avengers basked in the warmth of the fire and the camaraderie of their shared company.
Tony Stark, reclining in a comfortable chair, raised his glass in a mock toast. "To new beginnings and old friends! Or something like that."
Clint Barton, sitting nearby with a smirk, chimed in, "Yeah, Tony's just happy because he's not the new kid on the block anymore."
Tony shot him a playful glare. "Watch it, Hawkeye, or I might just put you on dish duty for the rest of the night."
Bruce Banner chuckled, sipping from his own glass. "Let's try to keep the peace, gentlemen. We've got enough chaos to deal with on missions."
Wanda Maximoff, sitting cross-legged on the ground, smiled at the banter. "It's nice to have moments like these, away from all the fighting and danger."
Thor, ever the optimist, nodded in agreement. "Indeed! 'Tis a welcome reprieve from the battles that await us. But fear not, for Asgardian warriors are always ready!"
Steve Rogers, leaning against a nearby tree, couldn't help but smile at the scene before him. "It's moments like these that remind me why we do what we do. We're a team, through thick and thin."
Natasha Romanoff, sitting quietly beside you, observed the group with a soft smile. "You know, Y/n, I never imagined I'd find myself in moments like these. It's… nice."
You turned to her, catching the sincerity in her eyes. "Yeah, it really is," you agreed, feeling a warmth spread through you at her words.
As the conversation continued, the fire began to wane, the flames dimming as the night pressed on. Without hesitation, you stepped forward, feeling the warmth of your powers stir within you.
With a flick of your wrist, you summoned a burst of flame, reigniting the fire with ease. The Avengers watched in awe, their expressions a mixture of surprise and admiration.
"Wow,that's incredible!" Steve exclaimed, his eyes wide with wonder.
Natasha observed you with keen interest, a spark of admiration flickering in her eyes. "Impressive," she remarked, her voice low and husky. "You certainly know how to make an entrance."
You met her gaze, feeling a rush of warmth spread through you at her words. "Thanks, Natasha. Just doing my part to keep the party going."
As the fire blazed brightly once more, the Avengers continued to bond, their laughter and camaraderie echoing through the woods. And as you sat beside Natasha, a silent understanding passing between you, you couldn't help but feel grateful for the connections you'd forged with Earth's mightiest heroes.
----
As you and Natasha navigated through the crowded party, you couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. A man in a sharp suit lingered nearby, his gaze fixed on you with suspicion. Sensing the tension, you subtly nudged Natasha and gave her a knowing glance.
"Trouble at three o'clock," you murmured, keeping your voice low as you observed the man's lingering stare.
Natasha's lips quirked into a knowing smirk as she assessed the situation. "I see him. Let's give him something else to watch."
With a quick nod, you took Natasha's hand, pulling her into an elegant twirl on the dance floor. As the music swelled around you, you moved in perfect harmony, your steps fluid and graceful as you danced with practiced ease. The man's gaze faltered, his suspicion momentarily forgotten as he watched the two of you with mild interest.
"Smooth moves," Natasha whispered, her eyes twinkling with amusement as you continued to dance.
You grinned back at her, feeling a rush of exhilaration as you lost yourself in the rhythm of the music. "Just trying to keep up appearances."
As the song came to an end, you and Natasha gracefully parted ways, seamlessly blending back into the crowd as if nothing had happened. The man's gaze lingered on you for a moment longer before he turned away, satisfied that you were just another couple enjoying the festivities.
With the distraction successfully averted, you and Natasha made your way towards the west wing, where the USB drive was rumored to be located. The hallway was dimly lit, the air heavy with tension as you approached the door to the room where the drive was being kept.
"Ready for this?" Natasha asked, her voice low and steady as she prepared to breach the room.
You nodded, your heart pounding with anticipation. "Let's do this."
With practiced precision, Natasha picked the lock, and you slipped into the room, your senses on high alert as you searched for the USB drive. It didn't take long to locate it, tucked away in a secure safe on the far side of the room.
But as you reached for the drive, the room suddenly erupted into chaos as alarms blared and lights flashed. HYDRA soldiers poured into the room, their weapons raised and ready for action.
"We've been compromised!" Natasha exclaimed, her eyes narrowing in determination as she prepared to defend yourselves.
With adrenaline coursing through your veins, you sprang into action, using your fire powers to fend off the attackers while Natasha engaged them in hand-to-hand combat. The room became a blur of motion and chaos as you fought side by side, your movements perfectly synchronized as you battled against overwhelming odds.
At one point, a soldier attempted to flank Natasha, his weapon aimed directly at her back. Without hesitation, you intercepted the attack, summoning a burst of flame that engulfed the soldier's weapon and sent him staggering back in surprise. Natasha's eyes widened in gratitude as she delivered a swift punch, knocking the soldier unconscious.
"Nice save," Natasha remarked, a hint of admiration in her voice as she turned to face you.
You grinned back at her, feeling a surge of pride at your successful maneuver. "Just returning the favor."
---
The Avengers had been through a tumultuous few months, facing challenges that tested their strength and resolve. In the rare moments of respite between missions, Wanda suggested a girls' night in, complete with a cozy movie marathon to help them unwind and recharge.
As they settled in, Natasha glanced over at you, a playful glint in her eye. "You're welcome to join us, Y/N. Consider it an honorary invitation."
You chuckled at the unexpected offer. "Well, I certainly can't say no to that. Thanks, Nat."
Natasha glanced over the selection of movies, her expression thoughtful. "How about we start with something classic? A good comedy should do the trick."
Wanda nodded in agreement, a smile playing at her lips. "Sounds perfect. Let's keep it light tonight."
Just as they were about to hit play, Sam Wilson sauntered into the room, a hopeful expression on his face. "Hey, what's going on here? Movie night?"
Natasha and Wanda exchanged a glance, suppressing a smile at Sam's enthusiasm. "Actually, Sam, it's girls' night tonight," Natasha explained, her tone apologetic but firm.
Sam's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Girls' night? Aw, come on, why didn't I get the memo? I can hang with the best of them!"
Wanda chuckled softly, shaking her head at Sam's protest. "Sorry, Sam, but tonight is strictly a girls-only affair. Maybe next time."
Sam feigned offense, placing a hand over his heart dramatically. "Wow, way to exclude a guy. I see how it is."
You, sitting nearby, interjected with a grin, "And besides, I'm not a girl either."
Sam turned to you, his expression one of mock disbelief. "Wait, you too? What kind of girls' night is this?"
" One with Y/n the only exception" Natasha deadpanned
You shrugged, your tone light as you replied, "I guess exceptions can be made. Don't worry, Sam, you're still one of the girls in our hearts."
Natasha rolled her eyes playfully. "Alright, enough chitchat. Let's get this movie started before Sam convinces us to let him join."
With a mock sigh of resignation, Sam retreated from the room, his protests fading into the distance. Meanwhile, Natasha and Wanda settled back into the couch, ready to enjoy their movie night uninterrupted.
As the night wore on and the movies played on, you found yourself getting increasingly comfortable, nestled between Natasha and Wanda on the couch. The laughter and banter of the films filled the room, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
At one point, as you reached for a handful of popcorn from the bowl between you and Natasha, your fingers brushed against hers. It was a fleeting touch, but somehow, your fingers intertwined naturally, as if drawn together by an invisible force.
You glanced over at Natasha, surprised but not entirely unwelcome by the gesture. She met your gaze with a soft smile, her eyes reflecting the warmth and affection you felt in that moment.
As the movie continued to play, Natasha shifted slightly, leaning her head against your shoulder in a gesture of casual intimacy. You felt a rush of warmth spread through you at the contact, a sense of comfort and connection unlike anything you'd experienced before.
Without a word spoken between you, you allowed Natasha to rest against you, feeling a sense of contentment settle over the both of you. The room seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you in your own little world, wrapped up in the warmth of each other's presence.
Wanda, sensing the unspoken bond between you and Natasha, smiled knowingly from across the couch. She said nothing, content to let the moment unfold naturally.
---
Several months had passed since that cozy movie night, and in that time, a deep bond had formed between you and Natasha, evolving into something more than friendship. And after you , very nervously, asked her out and you went on your first date, you became official.
Now, as the snow fell softly outside, you found yourselves holed up in a cold safehouse, the result of a mission gone awry.
The bitter chill seeped into the room, wrapping around you like a suffocating blanket. Despite the layers of clothing and blankets you both piled on, the cold seemed to penetrate to your bones.
Natasha sat beside you, her posture rigid and her breath visible in the frigid air. Her stoic expression betrayed no hint of discomfort, a testament to her Russian upbringing and her ability to endure harsh conditions without complaint.
But you could see the telltale signs of her discomfort – the slight shiver in her shoulders, the way she pressed her lips together in a thin line. You knew that she was just as affected by the cold as you were, despite her efforts to hide it.
"We need to find a way to warm up," you remarked, your voice tinged with concern. "This cold is unbearable."
Natasha glanced at you, her gaze steady. "I'm fine, Y/n," she replied, her tone clipped. "I'm Russian, I don't get cold
You frowned, knowing that she was downplaying the severity of the situation. "Nat, we can't just tough this out. We need to do something before we freeze to death."
With a sigh, Natasha relented, her mask of indifference slipping slightly. "Fine, you're right. But what can we do? We're stuck here until backup arrives."
As the fire crackled merrily in the hearth, you racked your brain for a solution. And then it hit you – your powers. With a determined glint in your eye, you summoned your flames, allowing them to dance to life in the palm of your hand.
The warmth spread through the room, banishing the chill and filling the air with a comforting heat. Natasha watched in awe as you worked your magic, a soft smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"You never cease to amaze me" she murmured, her voice laced with admiration.
You shrugged modestly, feeling a rush of warmth spread through you at her praise. "Just doing what I can to keep us both safe and warm."
As the warmth from your flames enveloped the room, Natasha leaned closer to you, seeking refuge from the biting cold. The soft crackle of the fire provided a soothing backdrop to the otherwise tense atmosphere.
You could feel the tension slowly ebbing away as the heat seeped into your bones, and you found yourself inching closer to Natasha, drawn to her warmth and the comfort of her presence.
With a soft sigh, Natasha leaned into you, her shoulder pressing against yours as she sought solace in your embrace. Despite her usual stoicism, you could sense the vulnerability beneath her facade, a reminder that even the strongest among them had moments of weakness.
As you wrapped your arms around her, pulling her close, you felt a rush of affection wash over you. In that moment, surrounded by the flickering flames and the gentle fall of snow outside, you knew that you couldn't keep your feelings hidden any longer.
"I... I love you, Natasha," you confessed, your voice barely above a whisper.
Natasha's breath caught in her throat, her eyes widening in surprise. For a moment, she seemed almost speechless, caught off guard by your admission.
But then, a soft smile tugged at the corners of her lips, and she reached out to gently cup your cheek in her hand. "I love you too, Y/n," she replied, her voice filled with warmth and sincerity.
And with a sigh of relief you captured her lips in a soft kiss, planning to give her many more in the foreseeable future.

CUTE i changed it a teensy bit and hope that i did it justice for you. thank you for the inspo <333
Every morning, Rafe is awake before you. Every morning, he goes out on a run and then comes home and makes you coffee before ultimately getting you up. Every morning, he debates falling back into bed and keeping you there, ready to ignore the responsibilities of the day.
Which is why Rafe Cameron can't figure out what's different about today. Sure, Josie has a little cough. Yes, there's a big business deal going down next week. However, Rafe knows those are things he can handle, and he'll even make them look easy as he does it.
You crawl out of bed and find Rafe in the kitchen, doing his best to open the bag of resealable coffee grounds. He groans lowly when he can't get it, then smacks his hand on the counter out of frustration.
"Morning," you yawn as you enter.
"Hey," he answers quietly, continuing his attempt at the bag, "Coffee will be ready in a few."
You're used to it always being done, always waiting on you. But, you don't dare say a word. Instead, you grab two mugs from the counter and then step over to him, eyeing the bag in his hands.
"Can I help you with that?"
He shakes his head, "It's fine."
"Rafe."
He can't resist you and you know it. He sighs and sets the bag down on the counter, then turns to face you. Immediately, you register the burnt out look in his eye, the flexing of his hand, and the ticks in his jaw.
"Sorry," he mumbles, "Maybe you should make it this morning."
You step forward and cup his cheek, pulling him down so he's looking directly at you.
"I don't care about the coffee. I care about you, baby. What's going on?"
He shrugs, but the way he avoids your eyes tells you that something is there. He brings both of his hands up to your waist and grips you tight, even pulling you closer to him.
"I'm just a little on edge," he confesses, "It's nothing I can't handle, and I honestly don't know why it's happening."
You nod patiently, "Just an off day?"
"Yeah, think so," he replies.
You nod once more, then shove yourself against his chest. He smiles when he feels you so closer, your heartbeat against his chest and his against your temple. You listen to it while you scratch up and down his back, ignoring the sweat from his run.
"Can we sit down for a few minutes?"
He nods and allows you to lead him over to the couch. He sits first, then pulls you down onto his lap. You straddle him and lock your arms around his neck, then start pressing kisses into his cheeks. His hands run the length of your thighs, which brings a smile out of you. If you know Rafe Cameron, you know that his love language is physical touch. You plan on playing into that with him in this moment and all of the rest to come.
"I'll be okay, sweetheart," he lectures you, "Don't waste your morning sitting here. I'm good."
You kiss his chin, then his lips, then his nose. He breathes you in regardless of his words, and you know he loves it.
"It's not a waste. I love being with you, you know that," you say sweetly.
"But, your coffee."
"I can make my own coffee," you reply.
"Shouldn't have to," he mumbles, "I love taking care of you."
"Well, now it's my turn to take care of you," you grin, loving the way his lips tip up, "I'll come by the office and we can have lunch together. You can call me after your three o'clock meeting, and when we both get home from work, we can cuddle on the couch. The kids are going to Kelce and Maddie's for a playdate, anyway."
"That wasn't on the calendar," he raises a brow, but you shrug him off.
"I forgot to add it."
A lie, and you know he knows it, because you never forget to add things to the calendar. Still, the smile that graces his features lights you up inside, and when he nods his head, you feel victorious.
"Thanks, baby," he whispers, "I appreciate that."
You smile, then kiss him one more time.
"Seriously," you murmur, "Is there anything I can do to make it better?"
Shyly, he shrugs, "You have, already. Maybe we could start putting this on the calendar."
You smile, scooting impossibly closer on his lap before scratching his scalp and playing with his hair, forcing his eyes closed under your touch.
"We can do that," you reply, "Every morning, if you want."
He grins, letting his hands wander down your back and to your ass, which he grabs happily.
"Yeah, I think that would really help me out."

[A little brother-sister Fluff and anxiety, because I'm a weakling].
She didn't know why she was doing it and didn't understand.
In fact, she didn't want an understanding of her behavior.
she didn't understand why on rare cold nights she wrapped Percy with a specially stolen warm blanket for him.
And she sat for a long time before going to bed and looked at his peaceful but lively face, unlike hers.
She didn't know why she was looking for more money or giving her own when Percy didn't have enough for exactly the burger he wanted, although she needed to remove the hunger.
"good sister" said faceless sympathizers.
She didn't care.
She didn't know why when Percy's hair grew, she stole combs and hairpins and braided his braid.
a normal person could say that Percy turned out to be very cute with a thin braid falling on his shoulder and hairpins in the form of starfish — she could say that he looked like an abandoned porcelain doll.
She didn't know why when Percy had another incoherent, but terrible nightmare, instead of the usual brief look and return to sleep, she hugged him to her — people called it hugs.
she pressed him into herself and put his head on her chest, and his torso was between her legs.
Percy stared at her with wide-open eyes, salt flowed down his cheek and he sniffed and buried his face in her neck, his body pressed tightly against her.
the pose their sleep was strange — she was half-sitting, half-lying, Percy curled up half-foetus on her, laying his head on her chest and drooling.
That night Percy still shuddered and moaned fearfully in his sleep, for some reason she ran her fingers through his hair and cheeks.
He calmed down and even smiled a little in his sleep.
his skin and hair were soft and slightly damp, for some reason she wanted to touch them.
"Caring", her mother had told her, "when you love someone or at least feel sympathy for him, you do small or big and pleasant things for him".
She frowned trying to understand this concept.
"Is it like you told Aunt Monica that I would be silent and not talk to her sons because I want it?".
"yes honey".
"I only want to take care of you".
"Her mother smiled at her."I will ask your father that when I am gone, you have another person you would like to take care of."
Her mother knelt down and hugged her.
Caring is a strange and incomprehensible thing for her, but what she does for Percy is exactly what it looks like.
Percy — her little brother and he belongs to her.
most likely their meetings were not accidental and Neptune, remembering her mother's prayers, gave it to her.
she has already softened him and made him pliable in her hands — he is no longer squeamish about himself.
But she will need to let him go, let him go to Jupiter's camp because she knows that something more than her is waiting for him.
It's good that she knows how to do what she doesn't want...
This is soooooooo cute!!
I mean yeah! Just because someone has SzPD or vibes close enough to it but doesn't quite hit the criteria doesn't mean they're without affection or positive emotions. Honestly you're giving me so much inspo 😂
I'm gonna go w/ Coral as a name for my version of this character (obvi ours aren't like one-to-one same, but you can use Coral too if you'd like, I just picked it at random yesterday when I finished writing that other fic and realized I should probably give her a name lmao)
--
Despite what others said, she wasn't a psychopath. It was an insult she heard more than most people probably did until the night she grabbed her things and left the group. The kids in school, a couple of older cousins, an aunt. Even a couple of the Wolf House kids had muttered it in her direction. Others probably said it too. Behind her back when she wasn't aware.
The first time someone called her that she asked her mother what it meant. She was seven. Her cousin had hurt himself. She didn't know how, but there he was crying in the hallway as she left the bathroom with damp hands. There were no obvious signs of injury. He wasn't bleeding, no bones were broken. All that was wrong was his tears and his clinging grip to his leg.
So she carried on to the kitchen because she was hungry and wanted something to eat.
Eventually her aunt went looking for her son, and found the blubbering mess he was. Coral didn't know what was said. But whatever was, it had her aunt come barreling into the kitchen, spitting vitriol and expletives while Coral held a glass of water and cookie in either hand.
It was a confusing event. He wasn't dying. Why did she need to make him feel better? Why did she need to go get an adult from where they were all congregated outside? She didn't want to talk to anyone.
As she always had, her mother came roaring to her defense in seconds. There had been a contested yelling match - screams from her aunt, moderated but loud tone from her mother. They went home shortly after. Her mother's first thing when they arrived home was to pull out the dictionary. Aloud she had read out the definition of psychopath. Then, as always, gave a couple general examples that had Coral confused over why her aunt would call her that.
Flipping back the pages, she said, You are not a psychopath, guppy. You just don't have empathy. She read aloud the definition of empathy. Once finished, she pressed both hands against the table on either side of the book. Not everyone can easily put themselves in other people's shoes. I have trouble with it. Your father can't do it at all. People like us have to focus on sympathy and compassion.
Both words were explained to her. Compassion was the one that had stumped her. She knew her cousin was upset. He was crying. Crying usually meant someone was sad or hurt. She understood that, was sympathetic to it. But she was hungry and he wasn't bleeding, so his tears didn't matter. Why did she have to stop and give him a hug over something that didn't matter?
I wasn't feeling well last week, her mother had said. But I wasn't dying. I wasn't bleeding. I wasn't throwing up. You still made me soup.
Coral considered that. How she'd stood on a footstool in front of the stove, opening a can of soup into a pot. Then carrying the pot at a snail's pace to where her mother was resting. She'd laughed at the time, before thanking Coral and telling her not to use the stove without permission.
But she had been stuffed up with a small cold. And Coral knew that people were supposed to eat chicken noodle soup when they weren't feeling well. It was what her mother did for her. It was on the TV in shows and commercials.
I care about you, she said. Should I pretend other people are you so I can care about them?
Her mother had laughed. No, guppy. I don't think that would work for you. You've never been good at that kind of visualization. But you know how it works, yes? When a child cries, their family hugs them and reassures them that they are safe. When a person is injured, you call an ambulance and try to help until it arrives. When someone is cold, you offer warmth.
Scripts, Coral said. She understood social scripts, even if she didn't get them. Niceties. Saying hello to people as you pass them by, holding the door open when someone is following you out, sharing the toys at school or on the playground.
Listening to your little brother as he tells you about the things he went through in the weeks after your farewell.
When he'd first flagged her down, there was an obvious change in him. However, it was hidden behind a fragile mask. It had been months since they last spoke. He followed her to the closest park. Settling down on the grass felt reminiscent of their last day together months ago. Bag of food between them, sun shining above, and a sense of things to come.
He'd laughed as he told her, Oh, I'm the son of Poseidon actually.
While she had never thought about it before, it wasn't a surprise. The world was a big place. Why would the Roman pantheon be the only ones out there?
As Percy explained things, she pieced together a separate understanding.
She had wanted him to embrace the storm he so clearly kept at bay. There was nothing to fear from a hurricane. A typhoon. A tsunami. He just needed to let go of that worry. But there were signs that he couldn't. That emotion was an important part of the storm. Something she couldn't comprehend.
Now it clicked. The old adages - the sea is loving, the sea is hateful, the sea is angry, the sea is calm. For him, the ocean was an emotional entity. Where Neptune was apathetic, Poseidon was passionate. That passion carried down to Percy, as apathy carried down to her, and left him needing emotion to generate the storm.
It made sense.
The Greeks prioritized Poseidon more than the Romans did. Fisherman, casual sailors, navies, those who lived too close to the coast - they'd see the sea differently than the Romans, who really only encountered the sea for conquest purposes.
In Rome the ocean didn't care about you, because they didn't care much about it. But in Greece prayers to Poseidon were likely made often - clear seas, plentiful fish, no sea monsters. Storms and destruction meant he was angry. Gentle tides and full nets meant he was happy. There was meaning to the way his waves crashed against the rocks.
Just as there was meaning to the way Percy pulled at the skin on his wrist. As he spoke, turning tide to what had happened after she left, his gaze cut far away from her. Haggard down and tired, his voice pulled out of him with a low rasp. Every word was clipped of detail. Trimmed down to the barest bones.
It wasn't for her benefit. He was sticking to the shallows for his own. Traumas slept in the depths. He wanted to stay surfaced with only the lap of it against their feet.
Silence poked its head up between them after he finished with bitten off words about his suicide attempt and how he was staying elsewhere, hiding from gods. Ah, she thought. That's why he had come to her.
His question cut the background noise. "How do you do it?" She cocked her head. "Just. Not feel." He pressed his hand to his chest. "I'm so tired of feeling everything all the time."
She opened her mouth to answer. Then paused. Her breath held frozen in her throat. Slowly she let it out and shook her head. "I don't feel. I've always been empty." She tilted her head, caught his sea-green eyes. "I thought you knew that."
He chewed on his lower lip before answering. "Yeah." He turned away to face the the rest of the park, staring with a vague and distant look. "I just. I thought..."
As his voice faded away, his gaze dipped down to his hands. One was tightly gripped to his drink. The other lied flat on his thighs. He twitched it. Trying to remember he was real.
She turned away. The grass was swaying gently in the low breeze. There were little kids running around. One tripped over their stubby legs and fell. Their friends shrieked and ran over to check on them. Internally she knew she should feel something for that kid, feel something over the events. But only empty indifference pumped through her heart.
"Not feelings things isn't all its cracked up to be," she said. "I know when one brand tastes better than another, but there's no joy to create a preference." She gestured loosely. "Even swimming - I never got excited at the idea of it. My mother knew I enjoyed going out into the ocean. But I felt nothing about it. I still don't."
Quiet curiousity passed through Percy's eyes. "You don't feel settled?"
"I don't feel anything." She turned back to the front. The kids were now chasing each other again. The child who fell was laughing, the sound of their voice carrying faintly over. "If anything is there, it's shipwrecked and buried deep."
She picked up a few french fries from the bag between them. After eating, she licked the salt from her fingers. "Not feeling won't stop you from getting hurt," she added. "But it will stop you from keeping your Annabeth." He lit up briefly at the sound of her name. "People don't like being friends with robots."
He snorted. "I know a guy who'd disagree with you on that." He pulled his drink out and peeled the leftover paper from the top of the straw. "Besides, haven't you seen any movies? Lots of people have robot friends."
"Those robots are human," she said. "They're just made of mechanics." She considered another french fry. "The ones that aren't human want to be. They don't feel but they learn what it is to feel. To dream. To care. They are not empty or devoid. That's why those characters have robot friends. And it's why I don't have any."
The paper rolled between his fingertips. "And that doesn't bother you?"
She held her hand out for the paper. It rolled off his thumb and onto her palm. "No." She stared at the little white ball. "It doesn't."
There were a few trial friendships through her life. But either the classification of "friend" didn't suit them to how she knew friends were supposed to be or they were bothersome and she told them outright, flatly, to leave her alone because they were annoying.
Her openness tended to get her sent to the principal's office. Or the counselor. Who, often, wound up sending her to the principal's office.
When the wolves took her away, she was pleased it wasn't a group of people trying to drag her along. Animals were always pleasant to be around. She liked their elderly cat, a black and white girl, who spent most of her time napping wherever she fell over. If she crawled into Coral's lap for a nap, Coral was never bothered by it. The same went for the wolves when they nipped and nudged her into warm wolf piles.
Wolves were pack animals though. With that understanding, the Wolf House was unwanted. Would she have no choice but to befriend someone? To make the bonds that slipped off her like soap before? Was she willing to try? Would it work out for her this time? Or would she just be gritting her teeth and trying to get through the training before making her escape?
There were social aspects at the Wolf House. Teamwork was emphasized. Coral was decent at teamwork. She didn't quite understand what the point of it was - protect the pack and all that. She'd asked Lupa once. The wolf goddess' answer didn't make sense, and she rebuffed her when Coral told her so.
It's been so long, I forgot, she'd said so loud in Coral's head. Children of the sea do not understand the purpose of the pack. Run along, pup.
I'm a guppy, Coral said aloud. I would be called a fry, not a pup.
Lupa growled. The warning was obvious, though Coral didn't know why it was being given. The growl faded out slow. All the while Coral stared deep into black eyes, unbothered and unafraid. In the back of her mind, she had the sense that she was supposed to be. That Lupa was a creature to fear. The other kids trembled when she stalked by. The wolves bowed their heads to her.
Coral never did. She found no reason to.
The final social aspect of the Wolf House was the journey to Camp Jupiter. It was awful.
From hour one of their venture, she'd become exhausted by the people she was with. The only exception was the Mors' girl. She was chattier than expected out of a child of death itself, but she was not intrusive. Where the others moaned about every little problem that came their way, she was more anecdotal. The few times she vented Coral didn't find herself winded by any of the words.
"Friendship isn't something I've ever needed," she said. "But you like your Annabeth. You need feelings to like her. And to like the other people I'm sure you have who are important to you.."
"Yeah," Percy said. His straw bounced against his lower lip. "Grover." A gentle smile tugged at the edge of his lips. "And my mom. She's great."
Coral nodded. "My mother's good too. I think she's the only person who loves me. And I didn't mind being around her before I left home." She glanced over at a dog jogging alongside their owner, then cut her eyes to Percy. "But I don't miss her."
He went stiff, eyes widening just a smidge. His grip on his drink tightened.
She leaned back on her hands. "I don't even know if I love her. I don't know what love is." She shrugged. "It's an intensity I don't have the capacity to experience."
Rumination slipped across his face. He sipped from his drink. She turned away The kids were now chasing each other again. The child who fell was laughing, the sound of their voice carrying faintly over.
When his sips turned into trying to drink the leftover ice through his straw, he said, "I can't imagine not loving my mom." There was a quiet grain in his voice. Not quite pity. An internal stress at the thought. A fearful possiblity. He popped the lid off his drink and shook the ice inside. "Or not being sure that I did."
She reached over and pressed the side of his cup with the tip of her forefinger. The sensation of rapid melting tickled against her palm. Once all that was left in his cup was cold water mixing with the soda he picked, she pulled away.
"No," she said. "It doesn't."
The phrase itself was spoken infrequently in their house, and only by her mother. She wasn't required to echo it back. Once, and only once, she asked what love was - what defined it, how people knew they felt it. The dictionary definition was vague at best. Intense feeling of deep affection for people. The definition for love of a thing made more sense to her - great interest and enjoyment. But even there she was stumped.
Coral, herself, was hollowed out and empty most of the time. When she wasn't, it was only the barest sense of emotion. Annoyance or confusion featured the most. It was vague haziness. Like a question mark of an emotion, versus a concrete feeling.
The emptiness made people difficult. Their problems, their needs. It all crafted a straightjacket she wanted to avoid. Lonely kids would try to befriend her at school only to realize she was not equipped to or interested in dealing with their sadness. She could play games with them. She could visit their house. She could sleep beside them in a sleeping bag.
But once they attached themselves to her side at all times, once they piled on or prodded at her empty center, the simplicity of what once was would immediately fall apart. Annoyance was usually what she felt. A vague creeping sense of wrongness.
The lack of space, physical or otherwise, was a cage. She wasn't an animal. Their endless emotional needs were burials, every word a shovelful of dirt trying to crush and suffocate her. Sticking their hands through her hollowed core and demanding something that wasn't there was just purely bothersome.
However, with her mother, with the girl before, with Percy? It was easier. Her mother gave her space at an early age. The Mors' girl never asked her to carry her problems like others did. Percy believed her when she said she felt nothing emotionally. They didn't require her to adapt herself to fix the world's silly molds.
With that in mind, she took a slow breath and reached over to pull Percy into her side. He stiffened up in surprise, but went easy.
"Coral-"
"Shush," she said. "It's called compassion." His laugh cut short with a quiet cry that he stifled. She stroked his hair. It had grown out some, still short, but shaggier now. "I'm not good at emotion. But I know they're important to have." She let him go and stood up. Gathering up their things, she held her hand out. "Come on."
--
There were worse things than a motel room. Despite popular theory, she found a good number of them to be clean and comfortable. Maybe the decor was strange, the carpet dull with time, but they were livable. That's what mattered.
Her current motel had a bathtub that she bullied Percy into. Turning on the tap, she sat on the dry side. The only sound between them was the sloshing of the water. Once it filled to just below the edge of the tub, she turned the tap off.
"I don't feel," she said. "But sometimes when I was younger, I would know that I was a certain way, even if the feeling wasn't there." She tapped the water. It rippled out across Percy's clothed torso. "Sitting in the tub would make those thoughts fade away."
Percy splashed the water over his exposed knees. "You think it'll make my feelings fade."
"No." She crossed her arms over the edge of the tub. "Those feelings are a wound that needs to heal. The tub isn't a therapist." She drew up a little spout of water that splashed against his cheek. "But it'll help."
He splashed the water over his knee again. Then again. Then again. Then turned his face just enough to catch her eyes. "Why are you trying to help me?"
"My mother told me that sympathy and compassion were important to focus on when you're not born with empathy," she said. She rested her chin on her wrists. "And I care about you." His brows furrowed. Her cheek squished into the back of her hand. "I don't need to feel things to know who's important, Percy."
She pulled back, planted her palms against the edge of the tub, and pushed up enough to lean over and kiss the top of his head. She counted to five in her head, then pulled back and relaxed back into the soft gray bathmat.
"I'm still a person," she added. "Even numb limbs feel something. The wires just get crossed so nothing processes. Or they don't know what it is, and that vagueness gets written off as absence. But even if people think I am, I'm not a robot."
He tilted his face away. Then leaned against the back of the tub. "Sometimes I don't know what I'm feeling. It's just a fog. But I know it's a lot." He closed his eyes. "And it's hurts." A ragged exhale shattered from his lungs. His hands drew up to the side of his head, gripping at his hair. "I just wanna stop. Feeling. Anything."
The water beneath him stirred. It cycled in a slow circle around him, before increasing in speed. The mini bathwater waves slashed against the rim of the tub.
"You can't," she said. "Even our father feels." She reached over and began detaching his hands from his head one finger at a time. "Your version is too emotional. Mine isn't. But he still feels, as small as it might be." Lowering both his hands into the water, she held onto them. He shook in her grip. "It's why he has his wife. It's why I'm here. Why the others before me were born. Even the uncaring sea knows that emotion is necessary to live."
Grief and distress covered his wet face. The water slowed down but thrashed around him, as though a writhing creature.
Or a drowning man.
She squeezed his hands. "You're lucky. Feeling the hurt means you know what the cause is. You can work it out, Percy. Not feeling anything means it takes you two months to realize the strangeness in your head every time you answer the phone is actually annoyance, or discomfort, because your classmate won't leave you alone."
His laugh was watery. His chest heaved in thick weary breaths. The water drew cold and colder, as though it was gearing up for a winter freeze.
Releasing one of his hands under the water, she cupped his cheek. "I can't be upset that I don't feel, because I can't feel enough to be upset. But I know it's something worthwhile because if it wasn't, the lack of it in myself wouldn't be so noticeable."
Their foreheads bumped together. Her eyes drew down to their entwined hands. She stroked his cheek until his breathing relaxed. His breath was warm against her skin. Sunlight slipped through her mind. Reflective waves. Boiling geysers.
"I'm dying." The words cut out of him in a whisper, a rasped confession. Even under the growing heat, he shivered. "It's like I'm trapped in a hurricane. No matter how hard I fight, I can't get out it." His voice went hoarse. "It wants to kill me."
"It's not going to kill you. Stop fighting it," she said. "Embrace the storm, remember?" She squeezed his hand again. "It's the only way you can get back to the calm."

It had been two months since Tina's Halloween Bash incident and you weren't really sure where Steve had gone.
After Halloween night he had separated himself from you, not picking up any of your phone calls for almost over a week straight. He was never home either. It worried you, but you wanted to remain positive. Maybe he had gone on a spontaneous road trip with his family? Who knew?
You were worried.
Then at some point around one in the morning on November 8th, he had come knocking on your bedroom window and when you opened it, he seemed so relieved to see you.
The male hugged you tightly and you had never been more happy to hug him than in that moment. You didn't ask where he had gone, only glad that he had returned and was safe. You of course lectured him on not stating that he would be gone for a period of time and to not panic as you had been panicking all week.
He apologized, and the longer you looked at him, the more you noticed how he had seemed to have changed. Steve was different somehow. More nervous, more anxious now that he had seen you.
Almost as if something could have happened to you. It was strange yet you hugged him once more anyway.
Now as the colder season approached, you sat in the backseat of Steve's car, listening to him as he hyped up Dustin, one of the kids you had grown to love.
"Now you're gonna go in there."
"Yeah." Dustin nodded.
"You look like a million bucks." Steve continued to boost Dustin's confidence, your eyes focused on the head of hair Dustin had.
It was different than his normal curly hair, almost as though he had taken inspiration from Steve's hair and tried to make it his own.
"Yeah!" Dustin agreed, nodding once again. "And you're gonna slay 'em dead." Steve promised.
"Like a lion." Dustin then proceeded to purr with a grin on his face. You couldn't help but smile, always finding it a bit silly when he did that but also rather cute for his age. Steve, however, winced a bit.
"Yeah..don't do that, okay?" He asked, causing Dustin's smile to fall. "Okay."
Steve then held his hand out to Dustin, the boy shaking his hand as goodbye. "Be safe in there, and good luck." You told him, placing a small kiss to the boy's cheek. Dustin smiled a bit and nodded. "Yeah, good luck kid."
"I will and thanks." He nodded again before turning and removing his seat belt. He then opened the car door, and made his way out. Once he shut the door and began walking in, Steve rolled down the backseat window so you could also watch him walk inside.
"It's like sending our kid off to school," You joked, making him chuckle a bit. The both of you watched as Dustin turned his ticket into his science teacher and picked up a conversation, making you smile. Looking over at Steve you expected to see him smiling proudly as well, but he wasn't.
His face had contorted into one of slight hurt and sadness, making you confused. You looked back to where Dustin was, only to see the real problem. Behind the door that led into the gymnasium was Nancy Wheeler.
"Still hurts?" You asked, crawling into the front passenger seat. Once you were situated, the male nodded. "I still love her, but not really in the same way anymore." He shrugged his shoulders, making you arch an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, beforehand I loved her and wanted to really be with her. Now it's somehow turned itself into a friendly sort of love. I just want her to be okay." He sighed, and his answer made you smile.
"I'm proud of you Steve." You told him, the male smiling a bit in return. "Did you think I'd be miserable forever?" He questioned which made you laugh. "No, I'm just glad you managed to figure that out on your own."
"God knows how many times I had to step in when you couldn't dump a girl or tell her things weren't working out. I think I've gotten most of the Hawkins High females to somehow hate me yet love you still." While it was a joke, it was somewhat true. Anytime Steve had been too much of a high horse to break up with a girl, you'd have to do it for him. He finally was off the whole King Steve thing.
"Yeah that won't happen anymore." He promised, though you didn't really believe him. "Yeah sure, who's next on your list? Am I gonna have to start helping girls develop feelings for you now too?" You teased, making Steve chuckle.
"No, I uh..I think I can handle this one." He spoke, your playful manner quickly dying.
"Wait, you already have eyes on another girl?" You questioned, your chest tightening a bit from the sudden painful news.
"Yeah, I've actually had my eyes on her for a while. Before Nancy actually, but then Nancy came into the picture so I figured it would be easier with her." He shrugged, glancing inside the middle school one last time to make sure Dustin got in okay before driving off.
"And you've never mentioned her to me before?" You asked, now slightly offended at having never been told about your best friend's secret crush. Your mind was spinning, going through a flip book of names. "It's not Tammy Thompson is it?" You questioned, nose wrinkling up in disgust.
"No, no, it's not Tammy. She sounds like a muppet when she sings." He huffed, the comment making you giggle. The longer you tried to figure it out, the more lost in thought you became.
Steve glanced over at you, smiling softly because of your confused expression. He wasn't even sure if he wanted to tell you because this was more entertaining for him.
He enjoyed the way your eyebrows scrunched together when you were stuck trying to figure out the answer to something; it made him enjoy keeping it from you even more.
You were beginning to give up, a small whine leaving your mouth. "Oh come on, Stevie you know I'm not good at guessing." You frowned, making him laugh again.
"I know you aren't. Thats what makes this so fun." He stuck his tongue out at you, making you huff a bit. "Harrington, don't test me." You playfully warned, waving a finger at him.
He raised a hand up in surrender, keeping his eyes on the road. "Wouldn't dream of it, babe." The nickname while commonly used still made your heart flutter. You tried to calm yourself by thinking of any other girl that would have Steve's eyes, going through the years of highschool.
"Who was that one girl in Ms. Click's class? Robin I think her name was?" You questioned and Steve shrugged his shoulders as he turned on the radio. The beginning to the song "Keep on Loving You" by REO Speedwagon played, almost a little too fitting to the conversation. "Don't know her." Steve mentioned, making you nod a little.
"Well its obviously not Carol Perkins. She and Tommy are still a thing, number one. Number two, she was down right just a bitch." You didn't have too great of a past with Carol, a past you didn't really want Steve to know about as he used to be friends with her.
"Definitely not Carol Perkins. It's not Heather Holloway either." He practically read your mind. "God, Steve! You've associated with so many chicks these past four years, how am I supposed to guess who this girl is?" You asked as he pulled up to his house.
When the car was put into park, he turned to face you, smiling softly. Confused, you arched an eyebrow at him and faced him as well. "Steve?" You questioned, unsure if he had something to say.
His eyes shifted to your lips for a moment, making you suddenly nervous. You subconsciously licked your lips, a soft smile forming on your face as you figured he was just being a goof as usual. "Steve, what's up? Have you finally caved and are gonna tell me who it is?" You questioned, meeting his eyes.
"Yeah," He let out a small breath before nodding his head up and down. "Yeah, I'll tell you." He swallowed harshly, hands fidgeting as they moved from the steering wheel and now rested in his lap. "But I have to tell you something else first." Steve practically teased you, yet you let him tell you what he had to say anyway.
"Fine, what is it that you have to tell me?" You asked him, relaxing your shoulder into the cushioned seat of the car. Steve seemed hesitant to tell you, but ultimately took a deep breath and asked, "Do you remember Halloween night?"
You sighed softly, figuring he was going to apologize for the millionth time. "Steve—"
"Do you?" He asked softly, your eyebrows furrowing as you weren't sure what he was getting at. "Yes, I do. I remember the whole night." You promised him, tilting your head slightly as you took in his figure.
Steve seemed nervous, rubbing his hands on his jeans before running his fingers through his hair. "Okay, good. Good."
You couldn't help but giggle a bit. "Is that all?" You knew it wasn't, but it was clear he needed a little assistance in getting out what he had to say. "No, um, I had a confession I wanted to make."
His words caused your smile to slowly fall, your heart beginning to beat a little faster. What could he possibly have to confess about Halloween? Was it something involving Nancy?
"Y/N," He began, "I know I kissed you."
Your stomach dropped. "What?" You blinked a few times as you weren't even sure you heard him correctly.
"That night? I was drunk, but I know what happened. I kissed you, and I'm so sorry." He apologized, making you shake your head. "You have nothing to apologize for. Why are you even apologizing, Steve?" You asked, seeing as that was literally two months ago.
The high school senior's lips parted, and yet no words left his mouth. After a moment, you called his name.
"Steve."
"I wanted to apologize for kissing you that night. And I'm apologizing now because I want to kiss you again."
At first, you thought it had been a joke. Payback for Halloween was what you assumed. And yet it was very real. Steve's cheeks were flushed from embarrassment, his eyes frantically searching yours for some sort of sign of comprehension to what he had told you.
Slowly, you reached forward and grabbed Steve's hands. "Steve, listen." It was clear that just from those two words, Steve began to panic. He was worried you didn't feel that way too. "Halloween night wasn't just you. You may have initiated the kiss but I didn't necessarily stop it right away." You admitted, eyes focused on his hands.
It was hard to confess that while looking him in the eye. "Why not?" He asked nervously, making you smile. "Because I've been in love with you for a while Harrington." Your eyes finally met, and a smile was quick to grow on his face. "Really?" He asked, making you nod shyly.
"Thank god," He leaned forward, hands stretching outward to cup your face in them. Once he had, he met you halfway and pressed his lips against yours. The kiss was slow and gentle, despite the adrenaline boost you both had gotten beforehand.
It was like a dream. If it was, you never wanted to wake up. Your hands slowly inched their way up and around his neck, leaning into him as the kiss continued into multiple passionate ones.
"Steve," You mumbled against his lips, making him groan softly. "God, I really do love it when you say my name." He mentioned, making you tense suddenly. Slowly, you pulled away from the kiss and gave him a confused look.
It wasn't the first time you heard those words leave his mouth.
"Exactly how much of Halloween do you remember?" You asked him, making him chuckle a bit. "All of it?" He seemed nervous to tell you.
Your cheeks burned from embarrassment, you quickly hiding your face in your hands. His hands moved to your arms which he rubbed sympathetically. "Oh my God, you mean to tell me that for the last two months you've known I had feelings for you?" You questioned, Steve shrugging his shoulders.
"I was worried it wasn't true." He admitted, making you sigh and reveal your face once again. "Steve, you make me so frustrated sometimes." You couldn't help but laugh a bit in shock from the whole ordeal. He chuckled as well before gently intertwining your hands.
"I know." Was all he said before you both leaned in again. As you kissed, you felt completely and entirely whole. Nothing could ruin this chance you had with Steve. No one could, not even Nancy.
Once you both parted for air, Steve continued to grin like a fool. "What do you say we go inside and watch some Christmas movies?" He asked, your smile matching his own.
"How could I possibly say no?" You questioned, unbuckling your seatbelt. "Y/N?" Steve asked as you both exited the car, you looking over to him as you shut the car door.
"Yeah?" You let out a small breath, a cloud of air revealing itself on the chilly and snowy night.
"I love you."
Steve had never said that before. Not to you anyway. By the puppy dog look on his face, you knew it was a true statement.
"I love you too." You told him, sprinting over before hugging him tightly. He brought you into his arms, holding you just as close.
The ground beneath you both didn't seem to support the hug as Steve began to slip and slide a bit on the thin sheet of ice that covered his driveway. "You okay?" You giggled before screaming as you both ended up falling into the snow covered lawn.
Looking to each other, you proceeded to bust out laughing and stayed laying in the snow for a bit longer to simply enjoy the moment together.
"You're such a dork." You giggled, leaning in to press your lips against his. He pressed your body closer to his, practically melting under your touch.
"I'm your dork." He corrected you, gently brushing your hair out of your face. It was like you were living life inside a holiday romance movie.
And honestly? It's a movie you'll never forget.
THE END.

Only a few years old, but damn, your kid was protective, and you were proud of them. The ever observant tot noticed an unfamiliar hulk approach you, and waddled up to cling onto your leg protectively, craning their head up and bravely giving the man the cutest glare.
The man-your ex-husband, stared back down at them, and the contest continued before your fellow side-kick approaches. He was a sweet young man, helping you out with your kid, sometimes. "Hey, can I--ohh." he speaks up, immediately recognizing the harsh pro-hero, shrinking somewhat under his glare. "Nah, I'm fine." you give him a sweet smile, and he smiles back. "Alrighty, I'll take Totter, then. Upsy-daisy, baby!" he says to your kid, bending and hooking his hands under their arms, hauling them up and moving them to settle on his hip as he closes in to whisper to you. The moment they are picked up, they start throwing an angry tantrum; somewhere along the lines of they were so close to chasing off the scary man! "Call if you need me, yeah?" he whispers, and you giggle. "I know, hun." you reply, the nickname heating up his cheeks. But it's long forgotten by a sudden punch from the toddler who was now near-tears, and he's off bouncing your kid in his arms, attempting to soothe them.
You wave your hand in front of a livid Katsuki's face, noticing his glare at the younger man. "Don't glare at him." you say once you gain his attention. "Who is he?" Katsuki growls. "I don't need to answer that. Touch him, and you're dead to us." you snap back calmly, despite the anger bubbling up in you. Who did this asshole think he was, getting jealous after everything he put you through?
He narrows his eyes down at you, clenching his jaw. You take a deep breath and sigh. He approached you on his own, so he probably wanted to speak to you. Some of this anger simmers, and you open your mouth to start.
"I'm sure, you've got a lot of things to say." you speak up, knowing that look in his eyes. "I know...you had a lot of things on your plate." you grind out. "But..." you trail off, stopping yourself from calling him familiarly. "But that doesn't excuse what happened." you tell him firmly, and he averts his gaze. "Remember when you promised you'd always be there...for me? By my side, and all that?" you say, your heart thudding-and not in a pleasant way-at the memory, noticing he was looking towards your child who was now happily preoccupied. "I told them the truth." you tell him, and your words make his gaze lift to yours. "Daddy got so busy, he couldn't keep his promises." you say, striking a chord in him. You could tell by they way he'd winced, wearing a pained expression.
Why did he look so hurt, when he hurt you most?
You snort, feeling a few tears begin to gather at your eyes. "Did I hurt your feelings when I went through that door?" you ask. "What I said, I meant it." you tell him. "Did I hurt your feelings movin' to the Aizawa's for a year? Not letting you see me, not answering your calls?" you ask.
His pitiful look only made you angrier.
"Did I hurt your feelings when I moved out, not leaving a fucking trace?" you ask. "I hope you fucking suffered." you tell him. "Did I waste my fucking time...trying to keep what we had afloat?" you ask him, "Y/N, I--" "Yeah. Yeah, I think you were right." you interrupt him, "I wasted all those years, and that's on me." hitting the nail in the head.
'You are annoying!'
"You can try to say you didn't mean it." you interrupt him again, not letting one excuse in.
'We might as well have nothing because of you!'
"Try to say there was nothing behind it." you say.
'Fuckin’ crybaby,'
"Every fucking word. I know you meant every fucking word, Katsuki." you pin him with your words, leaving him defeated.
'Don’t know why I even married you!'
"I know you." your voice wavers. "Even if you don't mean it now..." you trail off, a few tears falling. "You meant it when you said it." you say. You fish a pocket mirror and some wipes from your bag, thankful you didn't go too heavy on the makeup today, and there were only a few things to fix.
There's a short few moments of silence, even after you've finished touching up, his eyes guiltily lingering on your child. "One chance." you say, and his crimson gaze lifts to you once more, the hopefulness in his eyes making your stomach lurch. You sigh softly. "One chance. You'll get one chance with C/N. Fuck up, you'll never see them again." you warn him, "Wait here." turning on your heel to make a detour. You had to calm yourself down-you had to be your usual self, after all. You didn't want to scare the apple of your eye.
"I'm sorry." you hear his gruff voice uncharacteristically waver as you walk away.
You couldn't forgive him, yet. But if your baby was willing, you'd give him one chance.
One chance, and just maybe, the scars will heal over.

If requests are open I was thinking dad!steve or something along those lines
I love absolutely love ur writing btw babe 💖
Thank youuuu!! Gosh, I am SO soft for this idea 🥺
Gonna also go ahead and tag @harringtonswiftie for being amazing and constantly chatting with me about Steve ; we have gone back and forth for days about dad!Steve and ahhhhh so much of that has provided inspo for this!! Love youuu 💕
You were nervous, beyond nervous to tell Steve that you were pregnant and you weren't sure why. You knew about his little dream with his "brood of Harrington's" so you knew he wanted kids, but you were both still so young.
But you had to know for sure first before you told him anything - you definitely didn't want to get his hopes up. So, you scheduled an appointment with your doctor and lo and behold, you were, in fact, pregnant.
It's not as if the two of you were trying or anything - it just... happened.
You decided to tell him right away, as soon as you got back home. There was no point in keeping it a secret, you wouldn't be able to hide it forever anyway.
When you get home, he's sitting on the couch nursing a beer and watching one of the many game shows he adores but when he sees you, he immediately smiles. One of those wide Steve Harrington smiles that makes you go weak at the knees and makes you feel like you're fifteen years old all over again.
"Can we talk about something?" you ask slowly, working up the nerve to really push through with this.
"Ye- yeah," he says, turning off the tv and focusing his attention solely on you. "Is everything alright?"
"I think so?" Guess we're about to find out. You seat yourself directly next to him, taking his hands in your own. "So, remember how I told you I was late?" He nods, eyes wide. "Well... I wanted to get confirmation before I assumed anything and, uh, well... I'm pregnant."
He's speechless, more speechless than you've ever seen him. Steve is never at a loss for words and you can feel your body beginning to tense all over. He's mad. He's scared. He hates this. He doesn't want a kid. He doesn't want a kid with me.
"We're gonna have a baby?" He asks softly, eyes flicking down to your stomach and then back up. "A real baby? You and me?"
"Are you... okay with that?"
"Okay?" Then his eyes light up and that thousand watt smile is back on his face. "We're gonna have a baby!"
He swoops in, capturing your lips in a deep kiss and it steals all the breath from your lungs. He's happy. We're gonna be okay.
And Steve is on it, from the very jump. As soon as he finds out you're pregnant, he wants to know everything and he wants to be part of everything.
He buys every single book he can get his hands on and he reads them all, cover to cover. He also likes telling you fun little pregnancy facts as he reads.
"Did you know the longest recorded pregnancy was 375 days?" He turns to you, eyes wide and mouth agape.
"I don't want to think about that."
"Did you know that the baby can hear you?"
"Mhm. The baby can hear you too. Do you wanna try?"
Steve jumps at the chance, ready and eager. He tosses the book he was reading aside and places his palms softly on your stomach. "Hey baby, it's your dad," he whispers as you brush his hair out of his eyes. "I can't wait to meet you. You're gonna be so loved and you're gonna have the coolest parents, don't let anyone ever tell you different."
He comes to every single doctor's appointment, won't miss any of them for the world. And the first time an ultrasound occurs, he cries. He gasps when he hears the baby's heartbeat and then breaks down completely when he's able to make out the little shape of your baby on the screen.
By the time your third trimester comes around, you've been ordered to take it easy and not push yourself too hard or get overly stressed. Steve immediately puts you on mandatory bed rest, ensures you that he has everything 100% taken care of because you and the baby need rest.
He gets you set up in bed with everything you might need: books, magazines, music, the tv remote, and a little bell. "Ring this bell whenever you need anything and I'll be here."
When he steps out of the room, you ring the bell and he comes running.
You stifle a laugh. "Just wanted to make sure it worked."
Once you start nearing the end of your pregnancy; however, you are ready for this baby to be here. You've had enough and decidedly, you never want to be pregnant again. So, and even though it hurts, once those initial contractions jolt you awake in the middle of the night, you're ecstatic because the baby is coming.
"Steve?" You nudge him and he groans. "Steve!"
He sits up in bed, turning on the bedside lamp. "What is it? What's wrong?"
"The baby's coming, we have to go."
You're standing by the front door, ready to go. You've had the essentials packed for weeks now but Steve wants to do one last run through of the entire house just to make sure you have everything you need. You're starting to feel impatient, the contractions stealing your breath every time they hit. And Steve? Steve is frazzled, frenzied.
"Babe," you say, stealing his attention. "We have everything, we need to go. Let's go meet our baby."
He smiles, eyes blowing wide with excitement. He laces his fingers with yours and helps you into the car.
After a few hours of screaming, crying and, let's be honest, cursing, your baby has finally entered the world and Steve has not stopped crying. To be fair, neither have you. It has been a night.
The nurse brings your new baby over and you cradle her gently in your arms. Steve climbs in the bed next to you, one arm draped around your shoulder and the other is counting your baby girl's fingers and toes.
"She's so tiny," he whispers, voice full of love and wonder.
"Do you want to hold her, daddy?"
Steve nods, taking her from you gently, and pulling himself back to a standing position. He cradles her against his chest and her tiny fist wraps around his finger.
"You're so perfect, little one, and we love you so much."
It's learned fairly quickly that Steve is the best dad. He is present for everything, ready to go with a camcorder. He films every milestone and even just the things he finds particularly adorable. He wants every single moment to be captured forever. You don't even want to know how much money has been spent on rolls of film for the camera. Steve takes pictures of it all: birthdays, holidays, vacations, every single moment of practically every single day.
Two years after the birth of your daughter, you both welcome your first son into the family and Steve is just as ecstatic the second time around as he was the first.
You love your family and Steve being ever endlessly himself makes you want to continue to grow this little family into a big family. Like Steve said, a full brood of Harrington's.

chenford | drabble | inspo from 4x22
*****************************
"I know you've put in gas last night, but," Tim says, pushing a handful of cash in her grasp, "just in case."
Tamara smirks, amused, and slides the sunglasses she stole from Lucy up her forehead. "Just in case I don't get from L.A. to San Francisco with a full tank?
He scowls, crossing his arms and vehemently denying the voice in his head (his subconscious somehow voiced by Ginny) that he cared for her in the way he would've cared for his own child if he had one. That energy had to go somewhere, he reasoned, and he remembered running out of gas when he was just eighteen and stupid, so yeah, Tamara needed the money and his guidance and his scowling.
The smirk softened to a grin as she pocketed the money and stepped closer, placing a hand on his arm. "Thanks, Tim."
"What's at that festival anyway?"
"Music," she deadpans. "And a lot of alcohol and drugs and cute boys. And maybe I'll even—"
"Do not drink."
"Geez, you sound like Lucy," laughs Tamara. "Trust me, I'll be good. I basically have a cop family at this point."
The entrance to the apartment complex flies open and Lucy appears, a wrinkle between her brows as her eyes flit across the parking lot. A reusable water bottle is clutched in her hands.
"Tamara! You forgot your- oh." The woman pauses in her tracks and sizes him up, surprised. They haven't talked outside Mid-Wilshire since his prank last week and the energy between them has been weird to say the least. She crosses her arms. "What're you doing here?"
"Uh-"
"He's making sure I don't run out of gas," Tamara quips, smug, and plucks the water bottle from Lucy. "And thanks."
Checking her phone, she nods at the apartment. "Jasmine forgot her curling wand, so I'm grabbing mine."
"You mean mine?" Lucy calls after her.
Tamara giggles as she runs inside, leaving Tim and Lucy to stare at each other and ponder how the hell the ended up here. Here, in this situation. Here, wondering when they felt this awkward and estranged.
Tim rarely sees Lucy this... comfortable. Last time he found her in a baggy shirt, they shared a moment in his living room nearly one year ago.
Pushing his hands in his pockets, he says, "Sorry, I should've told you I was coming, but Tamara texted me."
Lucy's eyes narrow. "Tamara has your number?"
"For emergencies," he shrugs, but he can't let go of the teenager's words. A cop family. She's part of a cop family — their family. But Tim and Lucy aren't together; even if he's dreamt of it.
"Do you see yourself marrying her?"
He hadn't. But he wanted to have seen it. Ashley shattering the dream by being honest and confessing to not wanting marriage or kids threw his lie back in his face. Because he hadn't seen it with Ashley. But he had with Lucy. Still saw it.
"I shouldn't be worried, should I?" Lucy asks, wringing her hands together. "She'll be fine, right?"
Instinctively, Tim moves forward and squeezes her shoulder, reassuring. "Tamara's tough. She can handle a three day getaway."
A careful smile picks up her lips. "Will you handle it when you're in Hawaii?"
His hand slips off her arm, averting his gaze. His voice feels rough. "I'm... I'm not going to Hawaii anymore."
"Oh?"
"Ashley doesn't want to get married or have kids, so... we're taking a step back."
"I'm sorry, Tim," she whispers, genuinely remorseful. It seems like her anger from last week resolved a bit from this confession. He doesn't know if he deserves to be forgiven so quickly from a nasty prank like that; nor does he want to question why she felt so angered in the first place.
And then— "Chris and I broke up."
Tim blinks. "You— it's over?"
"I wasn't meeting him halfway," she explains, "and he wanted full commitment, something I couldn't give him."
"Why not?" he asks, his tone too curious for his own good.
Lucy meets his eye. Tamara is gone for a suspiciously long time, but he doesn't care, doesn't remember when Lucy and him have gotten this much time to get this close. There's something secretive in her gaze. It reminds him of the early months with Isabelle.
"Why are you still with Ashley?"
He sighs. "I don't know."
Tamara comes back with the curling wand (and seemingly more hair products from Lucy based on the roll of her eye) and chucks everything in the trunk.
Closing in on him, Lucy brings her lips to his ear and whispers: "Don't settle because you don't like being alone. Neither you or Ashley deserve that."
Before he can reply, Lucy hugs Tamara goodbye and tells her to be safe. Tim watches from the sidelines, right behind Lucy, and he feels those words reverberate again. A cop family. A family. Don't settle.
Tamara drives off. Lucy looks over her shoulder towards him, an understanding crackling between them so undeniable it aches his chest, and nods. "Wanna have a beer?"
He smiles. "Yeah."

"don't cry, little dove. i'm not even done yet." — ljn
TW mafia au, blood, violence, mentions of prostitution and brothels, mentions of past torture, extreme power imbalance, dumbification, they used a tranquilizer
A/N first half is told in renjun's pov also this is for dino anon hehe thank u for the inspo babes!!
DISC i don't condone anything. this isn't love.
WC 1.4k
renjun was fairly new to the mafia but it didn't take him long to realize the outrageous things they considered are the norms here. one of the first things he noticed is a cute little bunny dressed in scraps that always seemed to tail jeno wherever he went. jeno was his superior, albeit they were the same age, so it sucked that renjun had to use honorifics.
oftentimes he ignores you when jeno stands before him giving orders, or when they pass by each other in the hallways and stop to exchange pleasantries.
as renjun quickly climbed the ranks thanks to his agility and cunning mind, you, unfortunately, remained in the same position—always sitting by jeno's feet like a puppy, a body, a plaything, a whore. there were rumors that the boss gave his executives a chance to pick from the litters before they're shipped off to brothels, kind of like peace offerings in exchange for their compliance.
people said the stoic, muscular young man never really indulged himself in such temporary matters. until probably two years ago, until jeno first laid his eyes on you and decided then and there you were too pretty to become a random whore in the chain of brothels the mafia owned. the petite boy believes maybe it's a disguised blessing on your part, at least you'd only have to deal with one man every night, right?
renjun can only look at you from afar, keeping in mind not to stare too openly nor too intrusively that your owner notices. he's seen the bruises. the purple and black patches of your skin and renjun never gets used to it. his stomach turning at the idea of jeno deliberately marking your skin where the oversized shirt you wear won't be able to cover. the chinese immigrant would be stupid not to notice what that meant—it's jeno's clear sign of dominance, of the severe power imbalance, and not a single man in this building can stop him from doing whatever he wants to you.
renjun managed to piece things together thanks to his naturally observant nature. jeno never punished you for what you did, he punished you because he knows he can't touch his subordinates for something measly such as bumping or staring at his whore. the young mafia executive decides to take it out on you instead, albeit the flawed logic and unfairness of it all—proof that every person in this criminal organization is fucked up in the head.
despite jeno's maltreatment, renjun never heard a single complaint from you nor can he detect a feeling of rebellion out of you. you were so eerily compliant that the chinese can't help but think of what other horrible means jeno did for you to become so broken. renjun tried thinking about it, once, but never again. he can be cruel if he wants to be, but not without purpose. not because he gets a kick out of seeing a face twisted in terror. he wasn't like jeno, who smiled and laghed after blowing someone's brain up in the mafia's torture rooms.
this is why jeno is the only man fit for the job, the reason he became an executive at such a young age—there's no man he can't break for information. renjun doesn't know what jeno does to the poor people in the torture rooms but the piercing screams are enough to decide never to go against his superior.
renjun never thought he'll live the day to hear your screams coming from one of those rooms.
"what?" he does a double-take, eyes wide and unbelieving. "what do you mean she's in there? that's her, right now?"
haechan shrugs, wincing when he hears another scream coming from inside the room. he'll never know why these rooms aren't soundproof, maybe it was a way for jeno to keep his subordinates in line—"hear that? just be grateful that's not you."—you wouldn't want to cross a man who has no moral compass. "yeah. i heard she tried to escape."
renjun doesn't like the cool, amused smirk on haechan's face as he leaned back against the door, looking like everything is okay when it's not. "heard she got like… what, ten feet? give or take—yeah, i think ten feet out the door before jaemin's men tranqed her so much she would have slept for a week."
it was easy for renjun to detach himself, disregard his own set of beliefs and sweep them all under the pretense of "it's just work, nothing personal" but with you, it felt different. he knows you. well, knows of you. it's different, personal even, when he can match a face to those gruesome, ear-shattering screams that wracked through his bones.
he wanted to help you.
renjun wanted to help you.
but no, he didn't want to get shot in the head for insubordination.
jeno manually props you against the wall, cringing at the trail of blood that stains the tiles and pools underneath you. your shirt—rather, jeno's—was soaked through with the crimson liquid, your hair sticking to the side of your head. it feels like you were burning from the inside with every breath you take.
maybe months, years, of compliance made you forgetful. after all, jeno is a man of his word, through and through. he can only threaten you so much until he snaps. maybe he deemed the swift punishments and his harsh words insufficient. but who were you kidding? with the stunt you pulled… fuck, why did you even think of making a run for it? you should've known you won't even make it across the street! stupid. stupid. stupid.
you swore never to make him angry enough to bring you back down here in the torture chambers—this is his domain, and you shivered in fear with every fleeting thought you have about what he does behind those cement walls.
the first time jeno took you down here had been granted by the boss himself (see, the man running the mafia has favorites). jeno's men held you by the arms and made you watch as he killed a poor guy with his bare hands. slowly, excruciatingly, bleeding out because of the wounds jeno inflicted with his fists alone.
the second time was because of your first escape attempt. ah, you had been so energetic back then. always talking back, snarling and cursing him out. after that second time, you've become more compliant and have thoroughly embodied whatever sick fantasy jeno had of you. his broken doll, unseeing, unthinking, who breathes and lives only because he wanted her to.
you've heard him countless times say how much he missed that energetic personality you had. but only because you knew at least then he'd think the cruel punishments are justified.
oftentimes, he'll say it when you two are alone, in his room at headquarters, too disgustingly intimate like lovers and not a whore and her owner. his cold lips leavees a sweet trail on your neck, blood-stained hands soiling your skin underneath the dirty shirt, before finally slotting himself next to you as the cot creaks with the extra weight. he reeked of sweat and metallic and his eyes hazy from that post-bloodlust high.
jeno's boots squelch when he steps closer. never crouching, he wanted you to feel that severe power imbalance between the two of you.
"i won't ask you to apologize. not when i know you don't mean it."
you don't bother to reply. not because you don't want to but because you can't, voice utterly hoarse and scratchy from screaming while jeno breaks and tears you down as if he doesn't whisper the words i love you at night. you're his lover only when he needs you to be. sad, that he rarely felt the need of a lover and more so needed a cunny to fuck.
finally, he crouches. slow and never breaking eye contact. he raises a hand to push a strand of hair away from your face probably. you flinch. he doesn't care. "jeno, please don't touch me." but he touches you anyway.
you feel the callouses in his palms as he caresses your face. the calm before the storm. the deep inhale before the plunge. jeno grabs your chin and tilts your head up, a serene smile ghosting his lips. he looked at peace. satisfied. and you have never been more scared of him than you ever did in the last four years.
"don't cry, little dove. i'm not even done yet."

PARTY FAVOURS I CHAPTER 21
First time reader click here
TWs/SUMMARY: Wanda fluff, Loki fluff, we're getting a whole ass friendship! Dad sucks. The outfits are neat tho! Check the end for a mood board 😍
a/n: dress inspo and aesthetic visuals can be found here, here and here. (Paolo Sebastian, Firefly Path gowns and Viona Ielegems photography).
"Gi-i-irl..." Wanda drawled, seeing me arrive with Tony, both of us freshly showered and still hazy from the amazing orgasms. God only knew what she'd seen in both of our heads - if judging only by the vivid, crimson blush she spouted, it was definitely something very NSFW. Bruce already sat at the dinner table, quietly slurping his soup, his back and shoulders the most relaxed I'd ever seen. He gave me a knowing smile once he noticed my presence in my usual spot by his side.
The rest of the team appeared completely oblivious, preoccupied by their food.
"So, about the party. Got any costume ideas?" I cut straight to the chase, unwilling to wait for Wanda to start asking for details right in front of everyone.
Steve, Bucky, Pietro, Thor and Natasha all answered affirmative, the latter whacking Clint upside the head and firmly stating "no funny business". I couldn't help but wonder what kind of crazy shit the Bird had in mind and was kind of disappointed at Nat's intervention. A good chaotic moment was always worthwhile in my opinion!
The other bird, Sam, approached Bruce with caution as he wondered if the scientist was interested in doing a paired costume with him, only to be interrupted by Tony declaring, with childish glee, he had a "wicked project" that he and Bruce would be doing together. The scientist gave a resigned sigh and apologized.
Sam wasn't deterred by the slight setback; he approached Clint instead and after being given an okay from Natasha, the Birds decided to pair up. As they should, if you'd ask me.
"I have a costume but I need some accessories. Wanda, Lokes, join me on my lil' shopping trip?" I prompted, wanting everybody to be included. I was fully prepared for Loki to scoff and dismiss my invitation but the Asgardian nodded after a second of brief speechlessness. Didn't anyone invite him to birthday parties as a kid? Either way, Thor gave me a grateful smile, like a proper big brother. Both Asgardians had grown visibly closer during the past couple of months which made me hide a secretive smile behind a spoonful of soup.
It turned out, Loki hadn't exactly been introduced to the buzzing beehive that is NYC. He didn't get out much and when he needed to be somewhere, the man simply teleported to the desired destination. As convenient as it must've been, I still expressed my outrage at his lack of experience doing the usual "touristy" things that, in my opinion, every non-newyorker was obligated to do when visiting. Yes, even if said visitor had literally traveled across different galaxies.
Wanda wasn't much better in terms of city knowledge. According to her, she'd lived here for several years already but never bothered to go beyond the borders of the block surrounding the Avengers tower. The witch didn't have friends outside of her teammates (therapy. they all needed so much therapy. y'all...) so she simply saw no point in going anywhere beyond the local mall.
Which was trash. I mean, I loved Hot Topic and Forever 21 as much as any other young adult with depression and anxiety but it was literally impossible to wear clothes made out of cheap cotton and polyester all the time. I'm pretty sure I would have hives and ulcers if I attempted that.
"We're going on Sixth Avenue and that's final. No friend of mine will be wearing shit from Wal-Mart at a Stark party," I interrupted Wanda's defensive stuttering, using my other hand to summon an Uber.
"That is good advice," Loki, previously silent, added in a sweet tone. I counted on the fashionable Asgardian to be on my side and with his schmoozing skills, I didn't even have to drag Wanda inside the car by, like, her hair or whatever. The three of us barely fit into the small Toyota anyway.
A thought struck me when I had to consciously avoid stepping on Loki's leather shoes and keep away my elbow from Wanda's stomach. "Mister? I'll give you a hundred bucks cash if you turn around and drive to this address," I hurriedly rattled off my home address, delighting in the way the driver nearly did a U-turn at the mention of crispy dollar bills.
We arrived home quickly. Wanda gaped in mild disbelief at the size of my house while Loki looked about as interested as he'd ever be. His face was akin to an expression one made while smelling fresh manure. Opening the garage, I was greeted with an unpleasant surprise of my dad's outrageously painted Corvette standing neatly by my white Range Rover.
Loki looked and felt considerably less tense in the back of my car. The subtle signs of discomfort all but left his face replaced by slight wonder as I explained how to adjust the temperature and turn on the heated seats.
Dad met us at the gates. "You didn't come in to say hello," He pouted. His breath reeked like a five-day drinking binge hangover and he looked a dead man.
"We're in a hurry, dad. There's a lot to be done," I replied curtly, hoping to get rid of him fast. I hated being sober around my drunk father. My fingers twitched on the steering wheel.
"You're like your mother, always busy," Dad's laugh was coarse and bitter. "But at least you find time for Stark and his friends. That'll do your future real good," He clapped once on the hood of my car, heading back to the house with a wave of his hand, just in time to miss the disgusted shudder that ran through me.
I knew my dad well enough to understand the implications of what he meant by his words. In his world, fucking way up to the top was considered the norm. I'd rather cut off my own foot than use Tony that way.
"Sorry you had to see that. I thought he was still in Cali," I gritted my teeth, pulling out of the driveway.
"I'm sorry you had to experience that. I have no kind words regarding your father," Loki's look was sympathetic in the rearview mirror.
"Or your mother," Wanda added, messing with her seatbelt. Loki nodded tersely.
"Aight, aight," I sighed, set on improving the mood. "Let's not poop this party. We're getting some absolutely delicious beverages and wasting my money on outrageous pretty things. My treat."
Wanda's protests were drowned out by Motorhead and Loki's grumbling was overshadowed by Guns'n'Roses. Their resistance didn't stand a chance. Few blocks out, the witch was singing along to November Rain, heavily accented and terribly off-key, and the Asgardian watched New York city intently behind the protection of the tinted rear windows of my ride. He seemed mesmerized by the crowds and the variety of colorful shop fronts. This was the the one and only reason I eased off the gas pedal and drove the speed limit for once.
The atmosphere was, well, magical. Looking at my two companions, I discovered the familiar city anew with every question they asked, every remark they made. The desire to ask in turn about their homelands melted like the tension I was harbouring after the run-in with my father. Content and warm, I had my attention divided between Loki and Wanda juggling their wonder back-and-forth between themselves and the absolutely crazy NYC traffic.
So what if I parked in a no-parking zone just to get us the most delicious coffee in the city? Loki, the resident tea person, ordered himself something unpronounceable, something that made the barista twitch. Wanda got a sugary-sounding vanilla-white chocolate perversion. I just got a mocha, having had outgrown my adolescent desires to experiment with "how sweet can I make this coffee before I literally puke?" beverages.
With a laugh, I instructed them to pose in front of the nearest reflective surface to brag about our coffees on Instagram - this café deserved more recognition. My companions reluctantly obliged.
I wonder if the barista realized just who had bought the coffee - Loki was quite a media darling when it came to fangirls. Tony's PR team did a wonderful job on the Asgardian's redemption arc. The trickster only fueled the utter devotion his fangirls had for him by being extra nice and charming in every video I've seen. I guess you can't out-mindcontrol manners outta somebody, he was raised a prince after all.
It wasn't raining but the autumn chill seeped into the tiny spaces between my layers of clothing. I already managed to regret my fashionable dark academia inspired outfit at least twice, however the matching vibe all three of us had was positively dashing. Loki, wearing his usual onyx black and dark green. Wanda with a burgundy sweater dress and thigh high platformed boots - sweater dresses, out of all things, had no business looking this good on anybody. But she pulled it off.
"You said you've got a costume. Mind sharing what it is?" The witch said, curiously peeking into the windows of a nearby vintage boutique as we took our leisurely stroll with steaming paper cups keeping our fingers warm.
"A fairy dress. It was custom made for me last year and I actually didn't get to wear it. I need some jewelry to go with it," I explained, stopping to show a photo of the dress on my smartphone. "And some shoes, too. Let's hope the party will be held completely indoors, otherwise I'll freeze my ass off."
"Custom made?" Wanda squeaked, looking at the garment in wonder. Loki gave a vaguely approving nod.
"Yeah, there's a company that makes these fantasy dresses. You want one? What did you have in mind for your costume anyway?" I switched the topic quickly, seeing how Wanda withdrew into herself slightly. I heard from Peter she grew up poor, in the middle of a war and I didn't want to make her feel bad or anything. I wasn't good at these things...
"I thought maybe I could match with you," She replied, slowly taking a sip of her coffee.
"Sure. There are a couple of shops with really cute dresses that fit the aesthetic." Marchesa. We need a Marchesa store. And a Zuhair Murad - if there was one on this stretch of road. "What about you, Lokes? Anything in particular strike your fancy?" I asked our silent companion, frantically googling the information I needed.
"Black," He answered moodily.
"Boo, you whore," I rolled my eyes at his scoff. We had watched the Mean Girls recently and he got the reference, immediately raising a sarcastic eyebrow. "You know, you could do so much with this pale aristocratic look you've got going on. How about a medieval vampire?"
"Like Lestat? He's fucking hot," Wanda and I understood each other promptly. She jumped on the bandwagon immediately.
Combining my blunt honesty and her adorable fawning over a fictional bloodsucker, we managed to convince Loki into going on a hunt for brocaded, velvet suits and blouses with ruffles for his look. The trickster revolted at the mere suggestion of procuring some fake fangs, instead magically making them appear and showing them off in the middle of the crowded sidewalk, much to my and Wanda's delighted shrieking. He looked, I daresay, very attractive, like a porcelain figurine. Delicate but dangerous.
We arrived at the store that showcased beautiful, airy dresses of silk, chiffon and tulle. The lace was delicate and the seams invisible. I ushered Wanda into a dressing room with a shop attendant that was quietly but strictly instructed to not discuss the cost of the dresses and hide the price tags.
"I want it to be a gift. My friend here deserves no less than a magical experience," I explained quietly, winking at a bewildered Loki.
"Why did you do that?" He asked once Wanda was given a selection of several dresses in flattering colours and led into a separate dressing room.
"These dresses, they're special so they're a bit pricey. And knowing Wanda, she'll make a scene and refuse to let me buy them for her," I idly twirled my phone in my hands. "But every girl wants to be a princess and it's kinda sad she never got to be one. It's more than just a dress, it's more than feeling pretty, although it's a big part of it. She'll feel on top of the world."
Loki nodded. I'm certain he didn't understand it - being a man and all - and I wasn't sure I understood it completely, too. I never lacked pretty or expensive things, always got whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. But for a moment, I thought how it must've been for Wanda - seeing all these girls on TV, looking like pictures - and never having the chance to experience that. A concept that made me so sad, I was tempted to ask the customer service person for a glass of scotch. Being poor sounded depressing as hell.
Suddenly, Loki's cool, large hand landed on mine. "Thank you. I am certain Wanda will be the most beautiful lady at the ball."
I stared at him. Loki understood.
"Well, I... I don't know how finicky you are on gender labels for clothes, but there were a couple of blouses you might want to check out. They've got the neck ruffles and shit." My throat suddenly seized up and I had to clear it before speaking, steering away from the uncomfortably emotional moment. Thankfully, Loki wandered off without as much as a word.

“The Lemonade” Guy Pt. 1
When Jade realizes her feelings for a certain schoolmate go beyond a friendship, she makes a tremendous effort to rid herself of it.
Song Inspo(s): Wicked Games - Kiana Lede; I Won’t Say I’m In Love - Hercules
International AU!
Word Count: 4k+
~
There was rarely ever something Jade tried to avoid other than the topic of Manu. The reactions that came upon his death were much too triggering to her anger, and she refused to allow that level of rage to overcome her again; thankfully this was not the case. Now while that was a relief, the actual issue being avoided proved to be almost as troubling, and the foreign girl did not realize the matter until recently.
UA High was bustling with noise and movement, people curious about the UA students from different parts of the world. Jade was blessed to have been shown secret entrances and passageways by Ren as to avoid news reporters. While it wasn’t anything she wasn’t unfamiliar with, the second year student knew uncomfortable and personal questions would turn up if given the chance, so she decided staying in the shadows would be safe for now. Stepping onto school grounds, Jade found Maeda, Kubo and Ren chatting with two students she could not recognize. One was a girl with long cyan hair and a bright expression, and the other a boy with his head turned away from the trio. Hm...maybe they're new kids? It was difficult to tell whether or not they were around the same age as her, but Jade concluded they were older looking at their height. The girl craned her neck to look over her shoulder then gasped loudly.
"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshisthisher?!" She sped towards the international student and stretched a hand outward, grinning widely. "Nejire Hado, third year here at the original UA! You must be Jade, I was just asking your friends about you, and I heard you were from Los Angeles! Tell me what it's like! Is the food really good? What about the school? Is it different from the UA here? Ooh, what about your father? Is it true about him being a Pro Hero? What's his quirk? Is it like yours? Wha--"
"Easy Hado, she just got here," Ren intervened with a light chuckle. "Well, she already introduced herself, so that leaves the guy hiding behind her, Tamaki Amajiki, also a third year student. He's a bit shy as you can see." Jade leaned on her side to find the indigo haired male from earlier, head hung low and arms crossed tightly. She gave a small smile when he peeked up from the locks curtaining his face, pleased when he gave a single nod.
"It's nice to meet you both," chirped the foreign girl with a bow to which Hado squealed.
"And she's respectful! Ah, such an intriguing new person to meet--oh! I have to introduce you to Mirio, you'll love him, most girls do. Now where is he--" She scampered away with Tamaki in tow, slipping into the sea of students and staff members. Jade watched on with a scowl on her face. Most girls do? What is she trynna say, that I'm gonna be part of some bandwagon? She felt a hand on her shoulder pulling her out of her thoughts.
"She didn't mean it like that," came Ren's voice again. "Hado has a very blunt and unconventional way of speech, don’t mind her."
"It's something she can work on considering she wants to pursue becoming a Pro Hero," Maeda interjected, her tone flat but firm. Jade hummed in agreement and looked amongst the other pupils. Upon seeing the many faces, her eyes became fixed on one that stood out.
In a large crowd of females stood a tall and bulky male, his smile gleaming and proud. He appeared to be speaking to them, a round of giggles following soon after whatever he’d said. There were a few international students Jade recognized taking pictures with him and handing him slips of paper, presumably with some kind of social contact on it. That must be who the girl was talking about seeing he has an entire--wait a minute! It wasn’t until he looked up that she realized why the male seemed familiar. That’s the guy who I ran into at the entrance! The one who gave me that stupid nickna--
“Gemstone!”
Jade cursed inwardly as he advanced in her direction. She glanced at the entourage behind him, their faces surprised or annoyed, and it didn’t help that some of them were now moving closer too. Her feet were glued in place as the male stood before her, a cheeky grin evident on his face. Blonde hair, blue eyes, nice body...definitely the same guy from the first day.
”Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten my name already,” he chuckled, crossing his arms. Jade noted how the gesture made his already defined muscles tighten. An odd tension arose in her abdomen, but she quickly dismissed it and cleared her throat.
”Togata if I remember correctly.” The foreign girl bowed, remembering her manners. It was best to keep a respectful image considering the person before her was not only older, but one of the most skilled students attending the original UA. “It's good to s—“
”Togata, I need some help getting to my classes," a voice suddenly cut in. It came as a realization to Jade that a majority of the girls from earlier were now surrounding them. The person who had spoken was an international student herself, but she didn't look too pleased that all the attention was on someone else. Her hand crawled up Togata's arm in a suggestive manner before resting at his shoulder. "I'm not too familiar with UA Japan's complex," she continued, "so it would help a lot."
"Ooh wait, I think I need help too!" someone else from the crowd piped.
"I do as well!"
"Me too!"
Soon numerous hands were tugging at the tall male with pleads and demands of showing them around the school. Jade watched as Togata weakly smiled and tried to talk amongst the bunch with reason; it proved useless as they continued to grab at him from every direction. An unusual feeling rushed to her torso again, but something felt much different from earlier. In place was a strong stinging sensation, not enough to hurt but enough to generate irritation. What in the hell--
"Something wrong, Lofota?" Maeda's voice snapped Jade back into reality. Ren and Kubo were before her, curiosity etched on their features. From her peripheral line of vision she could see the bulky third year being dragged away with a familiar cyan and indigo haired duo following close behind.
"We saw Togata and his groupies approach you, but you looked as if you were ready to jump at one of them," Kubo remarked. "I personally don't mind, just give me a heads up next time so I can record it for memories." Maeda rolled her eyes at this.
Jade chuckled and shook her head. "It wasn't anything like that, guys, I think my mind was just occupied with something else. Let's try and get to class before news reporters start breaking through the gates." She walked alongside the trio and listened to them explain UA Japan's school system and the events that were set throughout the year. Despite her nonchalant attitude, the sting remained in Jade's stomach; she figured it would go away after some medication and rest.
~
It took a little over a month for the second year to realize that the peculiar feelings in her system were not an overnight situation. Jade took matters into her own hands and recorded when her stomach fell into any eccentric sensation, noting what, when and how much she ate and any possible patterns. When food appeared to be free of guilt, she tried looking at her sleep patterns and clothing for clues but was met with the same result. Her concern had caught Ren's attention when the medic pupil found her seated on a hospital bed speaking to Recovery Girl.
"Hon, I've ran multiple scans and checkups and found nothing," sighed the elder. "Your health is in great shape and according to your own data, it seems like you're doing just fine. Maybe try laying down, it seems this issue with your tummy is stressing you out." Jade complied wordlessly, but Ren could see that she was still in heavy thought. When Recovery Girl exited the office, she took a seat beside the bed and peered up. "Thinkin' real hard over there, aren't you?"
Jade turned on her side with a groan. "I just wanna figure out what the hell is wrong with me, it's starting to piss me off."
"What've you been doing?"
"School, hero training, eating, sleeping, the usual."
"Any foods you can think of that caused that pain?"
"No, but that's the weird part!" The foreign student sat up and pulled a leg to her chest. "This feeling I keep getting, it doesn't hurt. It just--it doesn't...I never had this before, but I'm not sure if that means I'm doing something wrong that's causing my body to react the way it does."
Ren arched her brows in search of an answer. "Can you maybe describe this 'feeling' by comparing it to something? Or perhaps using a metaphor? Just so I can understand this better."
"It...well, there's usually two kinds of reactions. At one point, my abdomen feels light but constricted, like it can't take anything in because everything is squeezed out. When that happens, I also feel my heart rate pick up, and my body feels overheated." The medic nodded and gestured to continue. "The second feeling is more like a stinging one, or like a burn--yeah, burning would be a more accurate comparison. When my stomach gets like that, I get really annoyed, but there's only so much I can do when the problem is internal. I tend to get more of the first reaction than I do the second, if that helps."
It was an interesting explanation given, and Ren understood why Recovery Girl struggled a bit providing help. She was quiet for a long time, but just as her friend was about to speak, she asked another question: "Does this ever happen around a specific time? Specific person? Maybe a certain group of people or things?"
Jade blinked before lying down again, her attention focused on the ceiling. Is there somebody or something always near me when this happens? She reeled through all the faces and names she'd ever interacted with, staff members, students, strangers, but no exact nouns came to mind that she could recall triggering this reaction. The foreign student shook her head.
"Huh, well...what's the earliest you recall first feeling these sensations?"
"I think the earliest I felt it was when I was talking to Togata and--" Almost immediately the rest of Jade's sentence died on her tongue. Ren quickly caught the abrupt end and tried to make understanding of what had just happened. The memory was clear as day in her mind, meeting Hado and Amajiki, Togata walking up to her with immaculate bulging muscles, the crowd of female students hauling him away and the indefinable feelings in her abdomen, it all began to click. However, looking over the details of that time, Jade realized that the sensations ultimately activated when she was around--
"Togata."
She whipped her head in surprise.
"Togata is the cause behind your odd abdominal feelings," Ren smiled, "which tells me this is definitely not a medical issue." She bit back a laugh at the disbelief on Jade's face. It seemed she understood what was being implied as she began shaking her head feverently.
"No no no and no, you better not say what I think you're about to say, Ishikawa."
"Aw, c'mon now Jade, you can't be upset at me! I was just trying to help you understand the cause of your stomach issues, looks like it was just butterflies the whole time."
The foreign student grimaced. "Ren, please don't."
"But it's actually cute! I personally think that you both--"
"REN I GET IT, STOP."
Jade sat in irritation until her friend ceased laughing, then hopped off the bed and brushed off her uniform. The medic pupil stood up immediately and pulled her into a hug, chuckling lightly. "Well, now that we found the root of the issue, what are you gonna do? Am I helping you plan a confession?"
"I'm gonna get rid of it.” Ren's snickering stopped. Jade's face and tone was enough to say she wasn't kidding.
"Heh, I uh...I don't think I heard you correctly?"
"Get rid of it. I'll just distance myself from Togata so that my mind can adjust it's thoughts towards him." She hurried after her friend down the hallway. Students buzzed around them, lively chatter and activity surrounding the pair.
"Wait a minute Jade, I'm not understanding how this is being helpful."
"Ren, the more time I am not near him or able to visibly see him, I'm more than a hundred percent sure that whatever these annoying feelings are will dissipate. When that happens, I can go back to being in the guy's presence without any weird aura surrounding me, but until then, I'm following a strict 'No Togata' routine."
The medic student scoffed in amusement. "Routine? Jade, that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard a UA student say. I say just let it happen and see where it goes from there. Who knows, maybe he possibly could return--"
"Ah--" Jade stopped and held a hand up. "I'm gonna stop you there for two reasons. One, the sole reason anyone should attend this school is to pursue some kind of a career, and this applies especially to me. I was sent here as a representative because UA Los Angeles trusts me to execute and display my skills as a potential Pro Hero, not to go messin' around with Japan's kids, let alone the top students. I have an entire city depending on me, Ren, I can't mess this up." She sighed and took in another breath. "Two, if anything, I am far from his type."
"His type? How can you even know that if you only ever said hi to the guy like, three times?"
"Context clues. If it isn't directly in front of you, look at everything around to find your answer."
Ren deadpanned. "And what exactly did you look at to find your answer?"
"Upbeat, lively girls," Jade replied as if it should've been an obvious answer. The pair entered the cafeteria which was more cramped than usual. Staff members were present, most likely by Nezu's word to have travelling students feel more welcomed. All Might stood among the teachers with a countless number of admirers already circled around him, all different years, sizes and appearances. A certain green haired boy appeared to be of his utmost interest as he practically shouted in the student's face. Ren chuckled at the sight, but she noticed her friend's attention was focused elsewhere.
Her gaze was closed in on a table swallowed by a swarm of students. Some were people from earlier that were practically throwing themselves at Togata, and it seemed no different as he sat at the center of the table enjoying his lunch. Hado was seated across from him, her expression as bright as ever, and beside them was a shaking Amajiki, his head rested against the structure’s surface. His nervous movements ceased, however, and Ren smiled seeing the cyan haired girl had slipped her hand into his, returning to her conversation with ease. Jade also noticed the subtle gesture, but she wouldn't help feeling a pang of annoyance at the audience surrounding the blonde boy. She didn't realize she was watching so intensely until his eyes crossed the room to meet hers. Crap! Immediately Jade looked away, unsure if she was more embarrassed about getting caught or feeling irked over a guy. You're here to represent your school, show your worth of an upcoming Pro Hero. Stop getting distracted! Distance! "Ren, let's get some lunch. I'm sure Tokoyami and the others are awaiting your presence."
"Our presence." Jade smiled as they strode across the cafeteria. The medic always made sure she felt included no matter what the situation was; it eased her thoughts greatly, which was something she needed.
~
Another month passed and Jade had almost become like a second Maeda, so intently focused during school hours and hero training. Even on off days, the international student went about her own activities, only ever seen for meals or rest. Her bond remained close with Ren, Maeda and Kubo in various ways, however, and she was present whenever a hangout commenced, so it seemed like everything was completely fine. Ren's teasing had become more discreet (much to Jade's relief) and she created a codename for the blonde third year.
"'The lemonade'?" Jade cringed. The two met up for a walk through town one day, and it seemed safe enough to discuss the matter since they weren't near school grounds.
"I think it's pretty subtle, and keeping the word 'the' in the codename would have people assuming we're actually talking about a beverage. Plus," the medic eyed her friend, "the guy is a tall glass of lemonade if I do say so myself, heh."
"Ren don't--"
"Lemonade sounds good right about now." She froze. It took everything in the foreign girl to not begin speed walking as soon as she heard the familiar upbeat voice behind her. From the look on her friend's face, Jade's assumption of Togata's presence was true. Unfortunately true. She slowly turned around, a faux smile in place until her eyes fell upon something hiding behind the male.
It was a little girl, she could tell that much, with long snowy locks spilling from behind Togata's calf. The child peeked up from her spot, red irises meeting Jade's indigo ones. The foreign girl was locked in place as she suddenly recalled her family. She thought of her parents' cooking and singing, her brothers' livelihood for sports, but she was especially reminded of her sister. Youngest and the only other girl in the line of siblings, they did a lot together. From shopping together to painting to singing to sightseeing, Jade realized how much she'd missed them. The exchange of words between Ren and Togata were a muffed noise as she crouched down, entrapped by the little stranger.
"I'm Jade, it's nice to meet you." The words slipped out like butter, and thankfully it didn't seem to frighten or discomfort the child. She looked up to the male for approval, then stepped forward and let his hand go.
"My name is Eri, it's nice to meet you too," she squeaked with a bow. Jade was awestruck by her politeness and shifted onto her knees to bow in return. When they both straightened up, Eri bore a wide smile and returned to Togata's side.
"Gosh, Gemstone, thought you were ignoring me for a sec." Reality hit the foreign girl immediately when she met the blonde's gaze, and her stomach felt tight again. Damn it, not now! Calm down, breathe, breathe, don't overreact. She stumbled getting back on her feet and managed a sheepish expression.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" she apologized more aggressively than she meant to. "I was just so surprised seeing you with a kid, and she just--"
"Oh? Do you think I'm not good with kids?" He raised a brow.
Crap, why does he have to look cute doing that. "I never said that," Jade rolled her eyes. "I was just surprised seeing you outside of your whole entourage, that's all." She cursed at her choice of words. Now I just sound like I'm hating on him.
"My entourage? Sounds like someone's a bit jealous."
"Ha! Boy, ain't nothin' to be jealous of." The second year held her ground as the bulky male challenged her with a smirk. Ren cleared her throat, acknowledging her presence and causing Jade to force herself back. She didn't realize how close she'd gotten to him during their small banter, but it was definitely closer than what she was comfortable with. "Ren, uh, I believe you were talking about something, yes?"
The medic peered over in amusement. "Yeah, I was talking about lemonade, which since you're here Togata with little Eri, I believe we can all get some together." Damn you, Ren!
Eri gasped before tugging on the male's sleeve. "Can we please, Mirio?" The sight made Jade's heart swell, and she couldn't be upset if it was an adorable child asking to accompany them. He beamed down at her and nodded his head.
"Ladies, you may lead the way." During the walk to a mini cafe Ren knew of (thanks to Tokoyami), Jade observed how attentive and caring Togata was with Eri, playing games or cracking jokes that made her laugh. Citizens passing commented on their closeness in adoration, many praising the third year for looking after the child with such passion. Even when there were those who tried to flirt with him, the boy paid them no mind and brushed off their efforts. Jade didn't know him too well, but she knew it would be difficult to want to be away from the guy, especially after seeing this side of him, away from the crowds, away from the hero limelight. Togata truly was someone to admire. A familiar tightness returned to her torso, but for now, she was okay with it.
She was pleased being able spend time with Eri herself, learning more about her likes and hobbies. A lot of what the young girl enjoyed Jade discovered was also liked by her sister. "What's her name?" the child asked, munching on a pastry. The horn atop her head glimmered in the sun while she finished up coloring a drawing.
"Her name is Carolei," the international student smiled, "but my family and I just call her Lei."
Eri dropped her coloring utensil on the table and leaned forward. "Can I call her Lei, too?" Jade looked around as though someone was listening to their conversation, then nodded with a wink, much to the child’s delight. They giggled and chatted, forgetting about time and enjoying getting to know one another. The second year felt as though she wasn't in Japan, but back in America with the people she'd cared about and loved; it felt good to bathe in the comfort and reminisce of home. Someone had gripped the back of Jade’s chair; she turned assuming it was Ren until she was face to face with a broad chest and the strong aroma of musk. Her heartbeat boomed in her head and she slowly turned back to Eri, allowing her nerves to calm. Ren bit back a laugh, but a tug on Jade’s hand distracted her from making a slick comment.
"Jade," said Eri in a small voice, "I have to leave now, but...do you think we can hang out another time?"
A sudden idea popped into the second year's mind at the young girl’s request. With a kind smile, she squeezed Eri's hand reassuringly. "We'll have plenty more days to hang out, hon, just me and you."
"Ouch, and what about me, Gemstone?" Togata whined, a hand on his chest in offense.
"Ah, I'd rather not be attacked by your fangirls. Besides, you have Amajiki and Hado to hang out with, and I know you see Eri almost every day." Both parties waved goodbye before continuing on their own paths. Ren and Jade were in a comfortable silence until the medic let out a sigh.
"You literally just missed your opportunity."
"Girl, what? If anything, I'd say I just opened the door for an opportunity."
"Opportunity for what? You literally shut the guy down."
"With good reason," the foreign student argued. She wasn't rude in her response to the older boy, and it was honest! The last thing Jade needed was rumors tainting her name simply for the fact that she hung out with one of the big three alone, especially if they were of the opposite sex. "Anyways, back to the opportunity I was talking about. I think Eri can help me out with this."
~
Happy New Years everyone! Thought I would just drop by with this little piece since I have been lagging quite a bit lol, anywho, just a little bit of love for our favorite blonde boy since I don’t see too much on him. Be safe everyone! Like, comment & share!

making her sister's donkey outfit] Janis: [lmaooooooooooooooo what else can you do in a primark hmm] Jimmy: [I don't think we can get decs cos they all suck we're gonna have to steal them from elsewhere] Janis: [that fine, any other shop will have some that aren't horrific, primark might have the kind of make your own vibe that Bobby would like] Jimmy: [aww that'd be cute] Janis: [you crafty boi, you'd also know how to do it without a kit girl so if you wanna come through you can, as for primark, we probably get the vibe, unless there's anything specific we wanna say/do?} Jimmy: [I think we've covered it so you can go back to his gaff and construct this 🐑 lewk] Janis: [at least we've made your life 10x easier with this coat, also gonna be the first time you've been to his so probably just hanging about outside like am I leaving now or] Jimmy: [will carry you over the threshold like that was what was stopping you coming in even though he blatantly doesn't need help & make you tea so we can have that milk two sugars revelation] Janis: [just like sup bitch to Twix] Jimmy: [the beginning of the real love story] Janis: [not like we're pure awkward and like hi dog this I can do right at least] Jimmy: [I hope they've found a christmas jumper for you too Twix cos there's no festive cheer in this gaff] Janis: [casually assess how many decs we gotta get, also dread to think the jumpers you've ended up with] Jimmy: [give her that doodle you did and dramatically sign it like a nerd] Janis: [🙄but 😏 'get famous and I'll flog it'] Jimmy: ['you've posted it, bound to get pretending you're gonna drop him so he's reminded of Asia and the assault course instead] Jimmy: [puts her foot up and generally fusses like a nurse because we know it's fucked] Janis: ['you're meant to be drawing a sheep's face right now' 'cos you cannot like focus boy] Jimmy: [gets and chucks a bag of frozen peas at her so he can put a tea towel on her head like an even bigger nerd but then does get his craft on] Janis: ['downgrade' like where's me crown but staying put 'cos it'll be more fuss if you don't] Jimmy: [obvs does make her a crown that's actually decent because that bitch] Janis: [so amused 'cos impressive 'wasted on me and not quinn'] Jimmy: [takes a pic like it's not wasted now but really it's to hide our heart eyes/stop him saying something that he can't pretend is fake when there is nobody here] Janis: ['rather this than a sheep, I guess' like not a #goals lewk soz bobby it will be on you] Jimmy: [chucks all those cotton wall balls he couldn't attach at her like they are little snowballs because playfights forever] Janis: [just juggling with them like I too can be impressive lmao] Jimmy: [craft break while he tries to have a go/tries to get her to teach him how to do it because we're impressed but also competitive] Janis: [love that for y'all, I can't do it but I assume you'll at least be able to do 2 or 3 jimothy] Jimmy: [one should fall in his tea though because 💔] Janis: [devastation] Jimmy: [cue OTT pout soz for how distracting that always is] Janis: [getting up like calm down, I'll make another one, 'cos looking for an excuse to move tbh] Jimmy: [gotta push her back down into that seat before she can because sauciness forever] Janis: [just like OI but a LOOK too] Jimmy: [giving that LOOK back as standard] Janis: ['I can do it'] Jimmy: [putting out a hand to help her up for that parallel] Janis: [reluctantly taking it with a 😒 'cos omg we're fine even though we aren't but you know] Jimmy: [does the drawing a smile with his finger tip thing because if we actually touch her rn there will be no stopping us and this sheep isn't gonna finish itself] Janis: [run and make that tea gal distraction distraction] Jimmy: [likewise get crafting again jimothy] Janis: [let twix out the kitchen door 'cos she's being cray no doubt] Jimmy: [of course she is] Janis: how old is your brother Jimmy: 6 Janis: cute Jimmy: I'll pass that on really needs to be the ⭐ though Janis: you're well past it Jimmy: piss off am I Jimmy: every teenager on telly is played by a 35 year old, me and my crows feet are well in Janis: and I'm saying you pining for a step mum is for a whole different type of film Jimmy: dunno what you mean by that, Jenna Janis: 😇 Janis: [come back with that tea and the most dubious sure jan face] Jimmy: [😏] Janis: [shakes head like tut tut] Jimmy: [sips tea in a sassy manner] Janis: ['animal' and pointedly checking out his progress] Jimmy: [imaginary watch check time lol] Janis: ['never ends, eh?' squishes his face like poor boy] Jimmy: [a shrug 'not til you kill me'] Janis: ['better put in your appearance first for the kid'] Jimmy: [nods because no fucker else is gonna do it 'whatever they're using for the baby jesus might come in handy an' all, fake kid for you to remember me by' because we think we're leaving lol] Janis: [such an unamused face 'no thank you' like you don't know how rife teen pregnancy is in this fam lol] Jimmy: [a look like yeah it won't look as fit and mysterious as me but still] Janis: ['it's always some pale ginger kid anyway'] Jimmy: [picks up Twix and wraps her up in the sofa blanket like a little bub and hands her to Janis like there you go cos looks a bit like them being white but with whirls and she was a bit gingery when she was a pup] Janis: [when you can't just yeet this dog so you have to take her and give her some love but you're like 😑] Jimmy: [squishes her face like she just did to him] Janis: [swats him away 'prick' and is on our phone like we're very busy but we just don't wanna make this bad mood more of a thing] Jimmy: [Twix just kissing her face like ILY] Janis: [can't be mad at this pup at least, in reality we just seeing where nearby does decent decs that you can go and get] Jimmy: [meanwhile we're getting the bae painkillers cos we think that's why she's cross] Janis: [shakes head, 'saw Helena earlier'] Jimmy: [shrugs like suit yourself 'tah [we're ignoring that bollocks and drinking our tea/finally finishing this sheep] Janis: [ta-da gesture 'where is he, anyway?' like neither of us can model this sheep moment adequately] Jimmy: [looks around OTT dramatically like 😱 where IS he? cos can't just answer a question] Janis: [lifts up a cushion or something like hello?] Jimmy: [cue a silly fake hide and seek] Janis: [Twix will give you away so easily lmao] Jimmy: [eventually flopping down OTT dramatically basically on top of her like you're so knackered because always taking the piss out of his stamina] Janis: [acting like he's so heavy like you're gonna kill me] Jimmy: ['not the way you wanna go'] Janis: ['is that even a question?'] Jimmy: ['didn't draw owt' because he did draw ? on her with a fingertip during the school trip and it was very flirty] Janis: ['there you go then' like no need to answer] Jimmy: 'reckon we're on our own' like there you go then for that question you asked about Bobby's whereabouts but you're still basically all up in her grill so it's accidentally flirty as well as a no shit answer] Janis: [takes a picture to be like now we ain't] Jimmy: [do a little photoshoot so you can have an excuse to make out because it's been FOREVER as far as you're concerned] Janis: [when we haven't even processed any of this lowkey] Jimmy: [it's a headfuck kids] Janis: ['did you go to school this morning, after?' 'cos saying you clearly didn't] Jimmy: ['what kind of question is that?' cos clearly didn't either, nods in the direction of the sheep costume fail like] Janis: [shrugs 'maybe you give up easy' like he came home did ten minutes and was like nah] Jimmy: [a look like very subtle challenge there babe] Janis: ['piss off' and pushing him a bit away 'cos we haven't moved evidently] Jimmy: [gets up and starts cleaning up all the crafting mess like fine I can take a hint] Janis: [ah the frustration, getting up like well then 'what time's the nativity thing?'] Jimmy: [telling her whatever time it is] Janis: ['meet you there then' and peacing] Jimmy: [so many things he wanted to say but we're not saying any of them] Janis: [oh lads] Jimmy: [sends her a pic of Bobby when he tries on that sheep lewk] Janis: 👍 Janis: looks pretty good I reckon Janis: he happier now? Janis: I was already on my way Janis: what am I gonna do, actually turn the bus around, no Jimmy: not be a doormat Jimmy: there's your mistake if you're looking for one, Jodie Janis: fuck you Jimmy: this is me being a prick since you need a hand working out the difference Janis: stop talking to me Jimmy: stop putting words in my mouth Janis: I didn't Jimmy: I don't think you're easy Janis: right Jimmy: Why would I? Jimmy: don't flatter yourself, alright, my benchmark for that is set at fucking half the north Jimmy: and even then, you'd have to really be dating me to get me to give a shit about it Janis: I didn't ask you to give a shit, nor do I want you to Janis: and it's hardly flattering but doormat is worse so yeah Janis: go away now Jimmy: 👌 Janis: I hope your brother doesn't totally hate it Jimmy: don't bother wasting your christmas wish Janis: well, he'll be fine, there are worse things than stage fright Jimmy: don't waste the reassurance on me either Janis: Jesus, whatever then Jimmy: there's nowt worse than having no parents about when every other dickhead does Janis: Yeah Janis: he won't be the only one Janis: and at least someone is there at all Jimmy: tah for that Janis: it's the truth Jimmy: most helpful you've been, pointing that out Janis: well what Janis: what else would you want me to say Janis: it's shit Jimmy: I didn't ask for you to say owt about it Janis: so you brought it up to what Janis: get a 👍 or 👎 Jimmy: you brought it up Jimmy: reckoning you know what's our kid's problem how you reckon you know what I think Janis: no, I was going Janis: I was literally just saying hope he doesn't have a terrible time Janis: don't have a go at me 'cos your dad ain't going Jimmy: leave it out Jimmy: I'm having a go at you 'cause you're doing my head in Janis: then I'll be going Janis: we don't need to talk to each other Janis: right now or barely at all Jimmy: 👍 Janis: when we need to do more fake shit, then we'll do it Jimmy: alright Jimmy: you know where I live Janis: Yep Janis: later Jimmy: [not gonna reply cos have a nativity to get ready for] Janis: [ah soz for the mess that has been made everyone, gutted we will not see the sheep costume in action] Jimmy: [how dare you arseholes ruin my festive fluff] Janis: [my boo is fuming, at least we can force you together easily enough after, and you did help with the costume] Jimmy: [we've ticked that and jumpers off the list, well done us]

article 81: "Help! I Couldn't Stop Writing Fake Dear Prudence Letters That Got Published" by Bennett Madison at Gawker. as the tiktok kids say, waterboarding couldn't have gotten a story like this out of me. I'd say I have no idea why Madison felt the need to share this without even the benefit of anonymity, but the article really does answer that - there's a deep craving for attention here that he seems simultaneously unable to satisfy and unable to stop doggedly pursuing. he hasn't exactly made himself out to be a pleasant person, but I do desperately want to get wine drunk together and persuade him to bitch about his YA colleagues whom he evidently disdains. I just love mess!
article 82: "These mostly Latino crews cleaned up after Sept. 11. They still seek residency." by the associated press at NBC. there's genuinely nothing quite as American as the folks who cleaned up the rubble of Our Biggest Tragedy Ever(TM) still having to beg to be legal citizens 20+ years after the fact. these people are actively suffering PTSD and health issues directly related to the cleanup work they did (and were underpaid for), and many are afraid to even seek proper care for fear of being deported. amazing country we have here, great work everyone.
for those playing along at home - yeah we are STILL in September, somehow.
article 83: "You're Smart Enough to Pick Your Own Lunch" by Amanda Mull at the Atlantic. the title is in response to an extremely wealthy man who owns expensive salad restaurants apparently announcing on linkedin last year that he thought COVID could be cured if Americans would just lose weight and then going on to suggest that the government should just ban unhealthy foods to make that happen so like. you know. having a normal one. this country hates poor people and fat people in a deep and insidious way, etc.
and hey, speaking of rampant fatphobia...
article 84: "Instagram 'pushes weight-loss messages to teenagers'" by Jim Waterson and Alex Hearn at the Guardian. tl;dr the insta algorithm is primed to flood your feed with mind-melting dieting and ~body inspo~ content at the slightest provocation and it sucks shit.
article 85: "The Emotional Toll of Dirty Work" by Jo Livingstone at the New Republic. a complicated piece about unpleasant, even traumatizing work, morality, and necessity. I'm not sure I actually can sympathize with a drone strike operator just because she recognizes that what she does is abhorrent, for instance, but there are some interesting ideas up for consideration here and a book that may be worth checking out.
article 86: "How Disney Channel Sold Patriotism To Kids After 9/11" by Ashley Reese at Jezebel. maybe I'm just a liiiitle too young (I was barely five when 9/11 happened) but it's actually sincerely insane that these aired on actual children's television.
article 87: "The Personal, Private, and Parasocial of John Mulaney" by Kayleigh Donaldson at Panjiba. god, remember when a comedian getting divorced was the hottest of goss? I'm so glad we're done with that news cycle.
article 88: "On semen retention" by Eleanor Janega on her blog. maybe it's not quite as interesting to everyone else as it is to me but MAN you guys, medieval theories about sex are wild.
article 89: "The 9/11 Museum and Its Discontents" by David Klion for New York Magazine. a piece about the mess of this museum, although not messy in the way that I was expecting. in an alternate universe, it seems, there might have been a 9/11 museum with a less one-sided, nationalistic narrative on display; but it appears that the people who pushed for that were subsequently shoved out the door. as Klion says, "Imagining a better, more civically healthy 9/11 museum ultimately requires imagining a better, more civically healthy national response to 9/11 than we’ve seen at any point in the past two decades."
(we've made it back to the August 2021 likes now, for the curious.)
article 90: "Skincare: It's Not as Accessible as it Should Be" by Hajar Mohammad at Byrdie. damn, that sounds crazy. thank god my skincare "routine" is just pressing my face to a belt sander each morning and calling it a gay-ass day.
reading every article in my twitter likes part 4
[part one] [part two] [part three]
yeah I still haven't given up the ghost on this one. let's go.
article 71: "You've Been Talking Big Game About Living Like A Decadent Widow - Yet Richard Lives!" by our pal Daniel Lavery for our enemy the NYTimes. oh, Daniel - I do enjoy your bitchy whimsy.
article 72: "The Disaster We Must Think About Every Day" by Tressie McMillan Cottom in the NYTimes also, but with far less whimsy - although not nearly as much doom and gloom as I was afraid of. cuts to the point of what individuals can do to get greener while acknowledging the privilege required to do so. no doomerism here, just actionable advice!
article 73: "In defense of the meaty tuck" by the iconic Tre'vell Anderson at Xtra. neat little piece about pressures within the trans community to ascribe to cis standards - and why those standards are often overwhelmingly based on cis white people. garbage all the way down, so do whatever you want, babies! rock that meaty tuck - or don't bother with a tuck at all.
article 74: "Court overturns cruel Keira Bell ruling depriving trans kids of life-saving puberty blockers" by Vic Parsons at Pink News. good!! give them puberty blockers!! give everyone puberty blockers if they want them!!
article 75: and speaking of trans rights! "From Gender Critical to QAnon: Anti-Trans Politics and the Laundering of Conspiracy" by Jules Gil-Peterson at The New Inquiry. not an easy read but an informative and important one.
article 76: "Afrominimalism Offers a New Vision for Black People" by Gabrielle Ione Hickman at Bitch. a compact introduction - and gentle criticism - of a book that I often noticed and wondered about back when I was working at the library.
article 77: "New Me. Who Am I?" from John Paul Brammer's delightful substack. compassionate advice wrapped up in an extended maritime metaphor.
article 78: Audre Lorde's dynamic 1982 speech "Learning from the 60s." absolutely tremendous; I was going to copy paste vast chunks of text to communicate what I meant but will settle for the singular, incisive sentence: "If we are to keep the enormity of the forces aligned against us from establishing a false hierarchy of oppression, we must school ourselves to recognize that any attack against Blacks, any attack against women, is an attack against all of us who recognize that our interests are not being served by the systems we support."
article 79: "'Men's Rights Asians' Think This Is Their Moment" by Aaron Mak at Slate. diversity win! these anti-Black incels are Asian!
article 80: "How Sexual Assault Changed My Sense of Smell and Taste" by Ope Adedeji at the Rumpus. dizzying and devastating, impeccably written.
