No joke, I wrote an entire 50,000+-word novel for NaNoWriMo 2023, and I was over 3/4 of the way through it before I realized I'd written no sex or romance even though it was in a genre that usually has a certain amount of both.
I just went, "Fuck it. My protagonist is ace now."

like truly there is nothing more heartbreaking than watching game franchises go from 2d art that's filled to the brim with personality and near flawlessly executed to middling 3d models.
