Okay but kas!eddie au where he betrays vecna before the Gang go back to the upside down, so instead of having them to support him he has to find different reinforcements.

He reckons, "If I'm some weird vampire now, cant hurt to test out some vampire lore right?"

He gets into Vecnas mind and is able to revive Chrissy and Patrick. Theyre not exactly sure what they are cos theyre defo not as eldritch horror as kas!eddie is now. However, there's absolutely something Different and inherently Upside Down about them. Their limbs don't look quite normal, and their eyes. Their EYES. Their eyes are enhanced. Taken out, replaced and upgraded almost. They're not quite sure what this all means yet but they don't have much time to think about it as they need to find a base.

They decide to head to Steve's place, Upside down version, because let's be real, Eddie's curious what his place looks like, even if it's slimy and grimy. Plus, he figures rich King Steve will have plenty of space and equipment for them to work with.

There, they find the body of Barb, who clearly has been there a lot longer than the rest of them but Eddie tries anyway, because despite not knowing Nancy until recently, he had seen the way she had changed after Barb went "missing".

Unexpectedly, it works. Barb is different from all three of them though. There's something... fluid and liquidy about the way she moves. As if she could melt into a puddle at any moment.

Eddie's not sure how he ended up teaming up a cheerleader, a jock, and a girl who had been considered dead for years, all of them now clearly being SOME kind of supernatural being. But if it means one more person by his side on his mission to get the fuck out and save his friends? Then he'll manage.
